- 0:00Speaker 1: Stirring the pot one morning at a time. Welcome to
- 0:04Speaker 1: the Alabama Show.
- 0:16Speaker 2: One more day. We are one more day away from
- 0:19Speaker 2: it officially being the weekend. And I have never been
- 0:23Speaker 2: more excited. That means we're getting closer to Halloween, too.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Happy Thursday.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Hopefully your week is going by pretty easy. If not,
- 0:32Speaker 3: tomorrow's Friday. We'll celebrate the weekend. On the way, what
- 0:36Speaker 3: the hell headlines, crazy things people are doing in the news.
- 0:39Speaker 3: If you've had a bad week, their week is worse
- 0:40Speaker 3: than yours. We do that at 650 and 850. If
- 0:43Speaker 3: you ever have good news, we also love to hear
- 0:46Speaker 3: your good news. Maybe that could win you a gift
- 0:48Speaker 3: card to rock and roll sushi.
- 0:49Speaker 2: You never know.
- 0:49Speaker 3: 833-501-BAMA is the number. We usually do that at 740,
- 0:53Speaker 3: but call anytime.
- 0:55Speaker 2: 833-501-2262. And good morning.
- 0:59Speaker 1: It's what the hell headlines.
- 1:01Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about?
- 1:02Speaker 1: On the Alabama show.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Peacocks have caused a problem in a Florida neighborhood.
- 1:09Speaker 1: What the hell?
- 1:11Speaker 4: This sounds like a you story.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:14Speaker 3: There are some people in a Florida neighborhood. They want
- 1:17Speaker 3: a city ordinance lifted that protects the peacocks.
- 1:20Speaker 2: That live in the area.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Because some people think they've become a nuisance and are
- 1:23Speaker 3: ruining their property.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Listen to this. They've become a continuing source of problems.
- 1:27Speaker 5: Property damage, sanitation concerns, noise, expense, and a loss of
- 1:32Speaker 5: peace in our own homes. I respectfully request that the
- 1:35Speaker 5: rule protecting the PFAL be removed from the current ordinance
- 1:39Speaker 5: so residents are no longer forced to choose between protecting
- 1:42Speaker 5: their property and complying with city code.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I do not want the city to make any changes
- 1:48Speaker 2: to their protected species.
- 1:50Speaker 4: I want the peacock to be protected.
- 1:52Speaker 3: So people are fighting to be able to, like, if
- 1:54Speaker 3: the peacock's on your property, I guess, pew-pew it down.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Get rid of them.
- 1:58Speaker 6: Get them.
- 1:59Speaker 7: What the hell?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Super easy trivia with the Alabama Show.

- 2:07Speaker 2: Mandy, good morning. Where are you calling from?
- 2:10Speaker 6: Jasper, Alabama.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Oh, girl, how's Jasper today? Right now, it's dark.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I'm on I-22.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Okay. Well, drive safe. Look out for deer. You know
- 2:19Speaker 2: it's deer season. Ugh.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Let's play super easy trivia and get you tickets to
- 2:25Speaker 3: Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I'll ask the questions. Producer Blake is your
- 2:29Speaker 3: lifeline if you need him, okay?
- 2:31Speaker 2: All right. Here's question number one. What does nocturnal mean
- 2:35Speaker 2: for animals? They stay awake through the night. That's it.
- 2:41Speaker 2: And they sleep during the day. Next one, Mandy.
- 2:44Speaker 3: In military time, what would 2200 be? 11 p.m. Ooh,
- 2:49Speaker 3: you're real close. Do you want Producer Blake to help you?
- 2:52Speaker 8: Yes.
- 2:52Speaker 4: That would be 10 p.m. 10 p.m.
- 2:55Speaker 9: Is it?
- 2:56Speaker 2: It's 1.30, another one. I know. Look, military time is
- 3:00Speaker 2: so hard. I have to count on my fingers. Okay,
- 3:03Speaker 2: last one.
- 3:04Speaker 3: For the win, Mandy, what is the official name for
- 3:06Speaker 3: a pumpkin with a face carved into.
- 3:08Speaker 2: It to celebrate Halloween?
- 3:09Speaker 1: A jack-o'-lantern.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Jack-o'-lantern is it.
- 3:12Speaker 7: Let's go! Yeah!
- 3:22Speaker 2: Congratulations, Mandy. One super easy trivia.
- 3:27Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama Show.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Auburn is going to be hosting the opening weekend of
- 3:33Speaker 3: the 2027 Banana Ball World Tour for the Savannah Bananas.
- 3:37Speaker 3: That's going to be February 25th through the 27th. They'll
- 3:41Speaker 3: be facing the Firefighters inside Jordan-Hare on February 27th. Birmingham's
- 3:45Speaker 3: also going to host Banana Ball at Regions Field in March,
- 3:48Speaker 3: March 12th through 13th, which is going to be awesome.
- 3:51Speaker 3: So if you are a Savannah Banana fan. You have
- 3:54Speaker 3: until October 31st to register for the ticket lottery. Registration
- 3:58Speaker 3: does not guarantee tickets. Your morning coffee may start tasting
- 4:03Speaker 3: a little different. According to Nestle's 2027 food and beverage
- 4:06Speaker 3: trend forecast, fruit flavors.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Are becoming a bigger part of coffee.
- 4:09Speaker 3: So coffee lovers are trading in vanilla and caramel coffee
- 4:12Speaker 3: flavors for fig. Fig is the most popular add-on to
- 4:16Speaker 3: coffee right now. And cafes have even started making fig
- 4:19Speaker 3: season drinks using fig syrup.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Cream cheese, cold foam, and pistachios. So fig are the
- 4:24Speaker 2: new coffee.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Trend jay-z uh reportedly picked himself for the 2027 super
- 4:29Speaker 3: bowl halftime show.
- 4:31Speaker 4: It's me pick me all right that's crazy.
- 4:35Speaker 3: According to a source they say jay-z was considered a
- 4:37Speaker 3: stronger choice over miley cyrus and justin bieber.
- 4:41Speaker 2: He chose that?
- 4:41Speaker 6: That's a source.
- 4:43Speaker 3: They say he was better than Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Jay-Z has never performed the Super Bowl, and he has
- 4:51Speaker 3: not publicly addressed the rumor yet, so we will let
- 4:53Speaker 3: you know as we find out more. That is three
- 4:56Speaker 3: things you need to know. More at thealabamashow.com.
- 5:01Speaker 1: You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I need to know if I need to pay for
- 5:05Speaker 2: damage my pets did.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Yes.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Easily, yes. Thanks for listening to the Alabama Show. I'm
- 5:11Speaker 2: Alabama with producer Blake.
- 5:13Speaker 4: That's me.
- 5:13Speaker 2: So there is a guy that used to live with me.
- 5:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:17Speaker 2: And I have a lot of animals.
- 5:19Speaker 4: I agree with that statement, yes.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Four dogs, four cats, 50 chickens, 10 peacocks.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Yeah, a farm.
- 5:26Speaker 2: This time last year, I rescued a kitten. Yeah. It
- 5:31Speaker 2: was two kittens, and they.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Were running and zooming through the house, and the guy
- 5:35Speaker 3: that lived with me had clothes hanging in the closet.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Okay.
- 5:41Speaker 7: So the cat went through a phase.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Where they were climbing up clothes in the closet.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Okay.
- 5:47Speaker 3: And he had this really nice, like sports, not sports jacket,
- 5:51Speaker 3: but like an overcoat.
- 5:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 3: And the cat climbed up it and, like, pulled hair, like, pulled.
- 5:59Speaker 8: You know, claws.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Like, pulled the strings.
- 6:01Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Ruined it. So I tried to fix it.
- 6:04Speaker 3: I spent all this time trying to fix the jacket
- 6:07Speaker 3: and never fixed it.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:08Speaker 3: So then my neighbor said, just donate it, and he'll
- 6:11Speaker 3: never know.
- 6:12Speaker 8: Okay.
- 6:13Speaker 2: And so I donated it to the thrift store.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yes.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Well, fast forward to now.
- 6:18Speaker 6: Oh, boy.
- 6:19Speaker 2: I told her. Well, funny story.
- 6:28Speaker 4: It's been over a year and you're just now telling it.
- 6:31Speaker 7: I went, the cat ruined it and I donated it.
- 6:35Speaker 7: And I was like, I'll buy you a new one.
- 6:37Speaker 7: And he was like, I don't think you can afford
- 6:39Speaker 7: a new one. And I went, how much was this
- 6:40Speaker 7: stupid jacket?
- 6:41Speaker 3: And he told me the brand and had me look
- 6:44Speaker 3: up and I looked up the exact jacket.
- 6:46Speaker 2: He goes, was this the one the cat destroyed? I went, yeah. $ 495. Yeah,
- 6:50Speaker 2: first off, you.
- 6:51Speaker 9: Should never have that expensive a taste, okay?
- 6:58Speaker 4: But also, why would you give it away without looking
- 7:00Speaker 4: it up first?
- 7:02Speaker 3: I didn't think that that would be a $ 500 coat.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I thought at the most, maybe $ 100. You always double check.
- 7:12Speaker 3: I was like, why would you hang that in my
- 7:13Speaker 3: closet and not put it in a garment bag? All
- 7:16Speaker 3: my expensive dresses go in a garment bag.
- 7:18Speaker 2: It's his fault. He knows I've got animals.
- 7:21Speaker 9: Guys do not think like that. Guys go, my son
- 7:24Speaker 9: is going to be fine. No, it is not your
- 7:26Speaker 9: fault for bringing cats home and being like, go at it, kitties.
- 7:30Speaker 2: I didn't know they were going to do that. Here's
- 7:32Speaker 2: what women do. We prepare for any type of catastrophe.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Men do not. And you need to think ahead.
- 7:38Speaker 4: You're the catastrophe.

- 11:38Speaker 9: that we were at.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Specifically, a Little Debbie Christmas tree cake.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Yes, because they're back and you got to have them, right?
- 11:45Speaker 2: Yeah. And that's what you were eating?
- 11:46Speaker 4: I was while we were watching TV.
- 11:48Speaker 9: And I'm sitting there and I've got the wrapper on
- 11:50Speaker 9: it still because I don't want to get my hands
- 11:51Speaker 9: all sticky, you know, as you do.
- 11:54Speaker 4: And so I'm eating it.
- 11:55Speaker 9: And all of a sudden the wrapper pops up one
- 11:57Speaker 9: of the like little like sprinkles that's on it.
- 12:00Speaker 4: And it goes in my eyeball.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Okay like under the eyelid like a bug.
- 12:05Speaker 9: No that's the worst part i was like okay that
- 12:07Speaker 9: bad it's on the eyeball i was trying to squish

- 12:12Speaker 9: to get it out it wouldn't come out it was
- 12:14Speaker 9: stuck to my eyeball.
- 12:16Speaker 2: So you didn't get a wet q-tip nothing.
- 12:18Speaker 9: Would get it off i'm telling you i put my
- 12:20Speaker 9: finger on my eyeball which i don't like doing you
- 12:24Speaker 9: don't do.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Your finger you get a wet q-tip it.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Doesn't matter what i tried and then.
- 12:29Speaker 2: What else did you try then i tried eye drops okay.
- 12:33Speaker 8: They didn't do anything yeah that's just gonna melt no
- 12:36Speaker 8: the sprinkle to your eye listen i've been dealing with
- 12:38Speaker 8: my eyes for a while i know how they work

- 12:43Speaker 9: Not come out it's supposed to and i uh eyelashes
- 12:46Speaker 9: are supposed to get it all out nothing so i

- 12:51Speaker 9: I'm freaking out. I'm thinking this is my last day
- 12:53Speaker 9: on earth, okay? I got a sprinkle on my eye.
- 12:56Speaker 9: I'm so scared.
- 12:56Speaker 4: I go in there. I go, she's a nurse. And
- 12:58Speaker 4: I go, mother, help, please. Everyone sitting there calm as
- 13:02Speaker 4: can be.
- 13:03Speaker 2: In the living room. And I know you're screaming.
- 13:06Speaker 9: No, they don't even know why I left the room.
- 13:09Speaker 9: I just got up and ran to my mother. And
- 13:11Speaker 9: she goes, yeah, that's stuck in there. Well, she gets
- 13:15Speaker 9: a little, like, toothpick thing and goes, I can't get
- 13:18Speaker 9: it out.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I can't.
- 13:19Speaker 9: So she blows on it and can't get it she
- 13:22Speaker 9: finally gets both fingers pulls it off i start crying
- 13:26Speaker 9: i start crying because i think my eye is still
- 13:28Speaker 9: about to come out because she just touched my eyeballs
- 13:30Speaker 9: with her unclean hands.
- 13:33Speaker 4: They may be clean i don't know but in my.
- 13:35Speaker 6: Head they were not sanitized not in my head i

- 13:45Speaker 6: swollen and pink right now.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Don't try to do that.
- 13:47Speaker 4: I ain't a hypochondriac. You ain't going to get me.
- 13:49Speaker 4: But I'll tell you what.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Was it your left eye? Because your left eye looks
- 13:52Speaker 2: a little wonky. It does look like it's sticking out
- 13:56Speaker 2: of the eye socket more than your other eyeball.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Yes, it was the left eye.
- 14:00Speaker 2: You know those people?
- 14:01Speaker 3: I used to have a teacher with a glass eye
- 14:03Speaker 3: that stuck out more.
- 14:04Speaker 2: That's what your eyeball looks like.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Okay, let's end this. I gotta go to the bathroom
- 14:08Speaker 4: and check. I gotta go to the bathroom. End the thing.
