- 0:00Speaker 1: So when we were at the Selic Acting Company a
- 0:02Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago, a very nice friend of the
- 0:04Speaker 1: program there said, Hey, I was on the internet and
- 0:08Speaker 1: I ran across an air check of your dad. Now,
- 0:14Speaker 1: my dad, Tom Barberry was on the radio here in
- 0:16Speaker 1: Salt Lake from nineteen seventy one until two thousand and four.
- 0:22Speaker 1: And uh, there's not a lot of recordings from that.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I mean, now we have everything recorded back then, not
- 0:30Speaker 1: a lot. And I don't know how he ran across.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And an air check is something.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Where you record, just record the show off.
- 0:37Speaker 1: And somebody recorded and this was a random date, May sixth,
- 0:42Speaker 1: nineteen ninety three, and.
- 0:45Speaker 2: So so it was just the one show.
- 0:47Speaker 1: That's all that was there. It's just this one show.
- 0:50Speaker 1: But it is just an interesting snapshot about life in
- 0:55Speaker 1: nineteen ninety three. Well three, okay, and so play a
- 1:00Speaker 1: couple of things here. Some of them are live ads
- 1:02Speaker 1: from places that are familiar to us but don't are
- 1:06Speaker 1: around anymore. Some of it I thought was interesting, the
- 1:11Speaker 1: news segments talking about some of the same things we're
- 1:15Speaker 1: talking about today.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Where do you want to start?
- 1:18Speaker 1: I think the first thing I gave Carrie was a
- 1:20Speaker 1: live ad for mul Boons.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Oh, at the top of their sports.
- 1:26Speaker 4: But feist Mom's day is coming up when I go
- 1:29Speaker 4: out to dinner, why not Maulboon's restaurants. Oh, they are
- 1:32Speaker 4: famous for their shrimp, folks, and they should be. You know,
- 1:35Speaker 4: Mulboons is the largest single consumer of shrimp in the
- 1:39Speaker 4: Western US. It's true, over one and a half tons
- 1:42Speaker 4: of shrimp is shipped to Maulboons every week from fishermen
- 1:46Speaker 4: from China to the Gulf of Mexico. The most shrimp
- 1:49Speaker 4: it's included you see in the complimentary shrimp bowl, which.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Is served with every evening entree.
- 1:55Speaker 4: With its large supply of shrimp, Mulboons is really put
- 1:57Speaker 4: you on the map. And speaking of mass Molboons is
- 2:00Speaker 4: easy to find with five convenient locations along Thesa's front
- 2:04Speaker 4: and downtown Salt Lake City. You could enjoy mol Boons
- 2:06Speaker 4: at the thirteenth floor with that incredible view of the
- 2:08Speaker 4: Delta Center and various other sites as the Olympus Hotel
- 2:13Speaker 4: at the sixth South off ramp martin Luther King Boulevard,
- 2:16Speaker 4: or its first location in Trolley Corners and away from
- 2:20Speaker 4: the city. Moulboons also serves customers at its restaurants in Midvale,
- 2:24Speaker 4: Layton and Ogden. Mould boons, let's go back to your phone.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Shir Lean is there and I scherlean. Hi, Tom, Do
- 2:33Speaker 2: you mind deferring for.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Just a moment because you know how Trina gets.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Oh no, let's go to the priorities after need.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Thank you, Charlene, you bad, remember Trina? Yeah, there's a
- 2:49Speaker 1: week beautiful view of the Delta Center. The beautiful view
- 2:51Speaker 1: of the Delta Center.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah? Great?
- 2:53Speaker 1: Uh do you want to do you want another ad?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Sure?
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it's at about one twelve.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Curious wasn't didn't they? So then they always call it
- 3:01Speaker 3: the peel and eat shrimp Bowl?
- 3:02Speaker 1: I think so?
- 3:04Speaker 4: Is that?
- 3:04Speaker 2: Where was at a different place? That was more? Boone's
- 3:07Speaker 2: the peelsident?
- 3:09Speaker 1: Right now, northbound on seventh East at thirty.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Ninth South, traffic there is backed up for over a
- 3:14Speaker 4: half a mile. Right now.
- 3:15Speaker 1: We are recommending that you swing over to ninth South
- 3:17Speaker 1: to avoid.
- 3:18Speaker 4: That public excuse me, the ninth East rather than taking
- 3:21Speaker 4: the exposure.
- 3:25Speaker 1: West side at the south end. I don't know why
- 3:28Speaker 1: that is.
- 3:28Speaker 3: I can't expect some delay there, and if you're headed
- 3:31Speaker 3: up to that, you can.
- 3:31Speaker 1: The stranger than what we use, which is Mario Kart. Yeah,
- 3:36Speaker 1: little cottonwood case. This is old traffic, by the way,
