- 0:09Speaker 1: Good evening and welcome to the cover one Buffalo Disguise
- 0:17Speaker 1: Coverage Round one reaction with Greg Thompson and Anthony Prohaska. Anthony,
- 0:24Speaker 1: is it true that you traded your blueberry up and
- 0:28Speaker 1: for additional future blueberries.
- 0:30Speaker 2: In this draft class? I would have I would have
- 0:33Speaker 2: done that. I think it made a lot of sense,
- 0:36Speaker 2: and I did. I'm happy with the future blueberries I got.
- 0:39Speaker 2: There's a lot of good value for the day two
- 0:41Speaker 2: blueberries in this blueberry class, and uh, I'm pretty.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Please with it. Yeah. So you are joining us here
- 0:49Speaker 1: because for the second time in three years, Anthony and
- 0:52Speaker 1: I have been ready to react to the Bill's first
- 0:56Speaker 1: round pick, and they have traded out of the first round,
- 0:58Speaker 1: although tonight it took them three trades to move down.
- 1:03Speaker 1: So this is literally like the mock draft simulator, you
- 1:07Speaker 1: know version here with people you know, moving down, moving down,
- 1:13Speaker 1: moving down, picking up little bits here and there. We'll
- 1:15Speaker 1: go over each of the three trades, all the analysis
- 1:18Speaker 1: and and you know trade calculators that I saw the
- 1:24Speaker 1: Bills one each of the trades, one of them pretty handily,
- 1:28Speaker 1: one pretty close to market value, and then the third
- 1:31Speaker 1: one again in between the two, but a pretty you know,
- 1:34Speaker 1: solid win per se. We'll spend some time later on,
- 1:39Speaker 1: you know, going over some of the best available and
- 1:42Speaker 1: some of the guys that we hope for it pick
- 1:43Speaker 1: thirty five and other options they can do now with
- 1:45Speaker 1: the ammal that they have. But you know, Anthony, just
- 1:48Speaker 1: starting off, you know how what is your reaction to
- 1:51Speaker 1: how things went tonight? I know appre show we talked
- 1:54Speaker 1: about that run up of the four straight picks coming
- 1:56Speaker 1: in to pick twenty six was a mix of I
- 2:00Speaker 1: don't know if you were on board with all four
- 2:02Speaker 1: of them, but the four picks leading up to the
- 2:05Speaker 1: Bills pick when a key messidor Malki, Lawrence, Casey, Concepcion
- 2:09Speaker 1: and Dyan Theneman as you saw that happen and we
- 2:12Speaker 1: got to the pick, where was your head at and
- 2:14Speaker 1: where we ended up? Now with the three trade backs.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I had always preferred trading back at twenty six over everything.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I just think with I don't think the Bills roster
- 2:25Speaker 2: currently or even necessarily in the future is in dire
- 2:28Speaker 2: need of like, oh my god, this is a hole.
- 2:30Speaker 2: They have to get this. But I think there are
- 2:32Speaker 2: several vulnerabilities or potential upgrade spots and even just good,
- 2:38Speaker 2: good options currently on the roster where they can add
- 2:41Speaker 2: cost effective talent and you pair that with for me
- 2:45Speaker 2: at least I know for a lot of folks as well,
- 2:48Speaker 2: Like the glut of value in this class for me
- 2:51Speaker 2: was like twenty five to like seventy five eighty. I
- 2:54Speaker 2: don't think I've ever had so many guys in like
- 2:56Speaker 2: my top one twenty five board, where I've had so
- 3:00Speaker 2: many guys with like like a second round to like
- 3:03Speaker 2: third fourth round grade. I keep calling him round like
- 3:06Speaker 2: two and a half to three and a half. So
- 3:07Speaker 2: I was like, trade back, get me as many picks
- 3:09Speaker 2: as you can in the top one hundred or the
- 3:11Speaker 2: top ninety. But I told myself, okay, I'd make some exceptions,
- 3:14Speaker 2: like if if they took Casey Concepcion at twenty six,
- 3:17Speaker 2: I'd be cool if they took KD. McDonald, even if
- 3:20Speaker 2: they took Kristin Miller, Malki Lawrence, I warmed up to
- 3:24Speaker 2: a little bit, though I did think it would have
- 3:25Speaker 2: been rich for him at twenty six. Penemn I questioned
- 3:29Speaker 2: the fit and wasn't the biggest fan, but I would
- 3:31Speaker 2: have understood, so I honestly like I it would have
- 3:35Speaker 2: taken a lot for me to be upset with anything
- 3:39Speaker 2: they did at twenty six, Like they would have had
- 3:41Speaker 2: to have taken like a tight end for me to
- 3:44Speaker 2: be like what like that? That's how like specific it
- 3:48Speaker 2: would have gotten. I could have understood or spun a
- 3:50Speaker 2: lot of things, not even spun, just made sense of
- 3:53Speaker 2: a lot of moves. And the end of the day,
- 3:55Speaker 2: I think the first trade got them good value. I
- 3:57Speaker 2: think the last trade got them good value. The one
- 3:59Speaker 2: in the middle, like you talked about that the Pats
- 4:01Speaker 2: maybe kind of a push or you know, are you
- 4:03Speaker 2: dancing with the devil because you're helping out the Patriots
- 4:05Speaker 2: a little bit? Who knows? But Yeah, overall, I'm pleased,
- 4:09Speaker 2: And I think to your point, I think the run
- 4:12Speaker 2: of guys right up to them picking. Maybe it's a
- 4:14Speaker 2: different story, I mal Ky Lawrence is on the board.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I think it. I think it is a different story
- 4:18Speaker 2: if Casey Concepcion is still on the board. But I
- 4:22Speaker 2: like the Capitol dam mask.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think it's relative of RJ who's I
- 4:26Speaker 1: was in here with us A And I'm okay with
- 4:28Speaker 1: them trading back three times after Theenum and a Casey
- 4:30Speaker 1: being off the board. The problems problem is they they
- 4:32Speaker 1: could have traded up to get one of those guys.
- 4:34Speaker 1: We're just adding more depth than we needed. Stars. Most
- 4:38Speaker 1: of what you said there, rj is is is correct,
- 4:41Speaker 1: except for the idea that concepts aenem in were stars,
- 4:45Speaker 1: like once you got past Caleb Downs at eleven, there
- 4:48Speaker 1: were no more stars left, like they were a landfull.
- 4:51Speaker 2: If you wanted to get the last available star. It
- 4:54Speaker 2: air close to it, if you know, depending on how
- 4:56Speaker 2: you feel, it was trading up where the Bucks were
- 4:58Speaker 2: to get Ruben Ba. Sure, there are not a lot
- 5:01Speaker 2: of blue chip or stars in this draft. The whole
- 5:04Speaker 2: promise of this draft, even though the draft is pretty
- 5:06Speaker 2: much promise every year, was value and useful players, like
- 5:11Speaker 2: guys that you can, oh, this guy is a good guy.
- 5:13Speaker 2: This guy's a good guy. But nobody here like, oh
- 5:15Speaker 2: what a stud. Let me hang my hat on this guy.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Yeah. So, don't get me wrong, I like those guys.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I like those four players that would have been cool
- 5:23Speaker 1: with them. But honestly, like I know a lot of
- 5:26Speaker 1: really smart draft people who had McNeil Warren higher than
- 5:29Speaker 1: the theene men and who had Denzel Boston had a
- 5:32Speaker 1: Casey concepcion and had you know that. Like again, it's
- 5:36Speaker 1: all relative to where some of those things are people
- 5:39Speaker 1: who have TJ. Parker and Casius Howell ahead of you know,
- 5:44Speaker 1: it's just the way that it was framed ahead Lawrence,
- 5:48Speaker 1: is what I was gonna say. It's all relative to
- 5:51Speaker 1: where those things are. None of those were slam dunks.
- 5:53Speaker 1: All of them are in the same tier. It's the
- 5:57Speaker 1: same tier, like Theeneman and McNeil Warren are absolutely the
- 6:00Speaker 1: same tier of safety. You know, the the idea of
- 6:04Speaker 1: Lawrence and Mesador and Parker Howell, whoever else you have
- 6:10Speaker 1: in that tier of whether you have Yakis or whoever
- 6:14Speaker 1: you might have as Ion Young in that tier of
- 6:17Speaker 1: pass rusher, it's in the same tier as those guys.
- 6:20Speaker 1: We still have, you know, Kate McDonald and Kristin Miller
- 6:23Speaker 1: available to us, and if they want to go with
- 6:27Speaker 1: Jacob or Rodriguez or an Anthony Hill or whoever it
- 6:29Speaker 1: might be, they have all those options available And honestly,
- 6:33Speaker 1: any of them would have been reasonable picks at twenty six,
- 6:39Speaker 1: and instead we still get one player who's in that
- 6:42Speaker 1: exact same tier at thirty five, plus all the other
- 6:48Speaker 1: stuff that we got and all I can tell you
- 6:50Speaker 1: is my entire group chat of all my adult friends
- 6:53Speaker 1: who are all Cleveland Browns fans are freaking out because
- 6:57Speaker 1: the first sentence that they said about Casey Concepcion is
- 6:59Speaker 1: ca catch the ball. So I was trying to calm
- 7:02Speaker 1: them down that you know his explosiveness and like the
- 7:06Speaker 1: dozen muff puns the contested catches, I think he has
- 7:09Speaker 1: the concentration drops because he's looking to set up his
- 7:11Speaker 1: next move, not because he can't catch the ball. But
- 7:15Speaker 1: they'll work on that, dot, don't worry. So let's go
- 7:19Speaker 1: through I.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Think is his drops to your point, Like I know
- 7:21Speaker 2: the Bills did ended up picking him. He has way
- 7:24Speaker 2: better hands than he gets credit for. The drops are inexcusable.
- 7:26Speaker 2: You can't have drops, but they're more concentration drops, not
- 7:29Speaker 2: like that he has bad hands.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Correct, RIGHTT So I tried to reassure them of that,
- 7:33Speaker 1: but then I let them just willow in they're own
- 7:35Speaker 1: misery because it's more fun to do that. So let's
- 7:40Speaker 1: go through each of the three trades here and then
- 7:42Speaker 1: specifically which picks are left before we talk about maybe
- 7:45Speaker 1: our preference going into some of the next moves. So
- 7:48Speaker 1: the first trade was a slam dunk. In here. I'm
- 7:51Speaker 1: just gonna use Anthony REINERD because he did a really
- 7:53Speaker 1: nice job going through some of the like the percentage
- 7:56Speaker 1: value gain to show here. So his number one trade
- 8:00Speaker 1: of all the trades today was the Bill's first trade,
- 8:03Speaker 1: so that the Houston Texans paid like a seven point
- 8:06Speaker 1: one percent premium, which was the most extra of any pick.
- 8:09Speaker 1: All the ones that I saw showed that as like
- 8:11Speaker 1: getting an extra late third to early fourth. Some of
- 8:14Speaker 1: the trade value charts had it as a later fourth,
- 8:17Speaker 1: but like picking up an extra free third or fourth
- 8:21Speaker 1: round pick. Because of what they got. The Bills traded
- 8:25Speaker 1: picks twenty six and ninety one, so our first and
- 8:28Speaker 1: our third to move down two picks from twenty six
- 8:31Speaker 1: to twenty eight, and the Bills got picks sixty nine
- 8:34Speaker 1: and one sixty seven, So obviously pick sixty nine very nice.
- 8:38Speaker 1: But moving from pick ninety one up to pick sixty nine,
- 8:41Speaker 1: you're talking about moving up twenty two picks for moving
- 8:45Speaker 1: down two and getting a fifth rounder. So that one
- 8:49Speaker 1: was a slam dunk, super super easy. No notes like
- 8:54Speaker 1: that's as good as you're gonna get. It was the
- 8:55Speaker 1: best value anybody got for any trade today?
- 8:58Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I came. I don't do this often, Eric,
- 9:01Speaker 2: the fact I hate people that do it. I'm gonna
- 9:04Speaker 2: pat myself on the back twice in this episode, especially
- 9:06Speaker 2: for the Titans trade. I came close to nailing this
- 9:09Speaker 2: one on an episode of This Guy's coverage. I posited
- 9:12Speaker 2: the Texans giving thirty eight and sixty nine straight up
- 9:15Speaker 2: for pick twenty eight. It was a trade value of
- 9:19Speaker 2: seven hundred and sixty five for Houston to seven hundred
- 9:21Speaker 2: for the Bills. But then I added in like the
- 9:23Speaker 2: Bills could add pick pick one twenty six and balance it.
- 9:27Speaker 2: So I came decently close with this one. Tennessee was
- 9:29Speaker 2: even closer. We'll get to that later. I was fine
- 9:31Speaker 2: with this. You moved back two spots in the first round,
- 9:34Speaker 2: which again is nothing, especially if you're kind of laying
- 9:37Speaker 2: out who's on the board who you're willing to take.
- 9:39Speaker 2: And I think the big point too is we'll see
- 9:41Speaker 2: who they take at thirty five, and then this becomes
- 9:44Speaker 2: more palatable or less palatable for some fans, depending on
- 9:48Speaker 2: I've even seen a couple comments it's understandable, right, Like
- 9:51Speaker 2: the Bills did this before and so Keon Coleman and
- 9:53Speaker 2: we saw how that turned out so far hot, Like
- 9:55Speaker 2: I get it, completely understandable. But you moved back two
- 9:58Speaker 2: spots the first round initially here and then to move
- 10:02Speaker 2: up from ninety one to sixty nine nice, is a
- 10:07Speaker 2: huge jump and fantastic and then you get one sixty
- 10:10Speaker 2: seven on top of it, which cool, why not? And
- 10:13Speaker 2: so that's a nice throw in pick at the end.
- 10:15Speaker 2: But to move back to but then move up twenty
- 10:18Speaker 2: two and get yourself a pick nice in the middle
- 10:21Speaker 2: of day two there. I was very pleased with this one.
- 10:24Speaker 2: This was a nice start to back up and yeah,
- 10:27Speaker 2: get an extra pick on top of it. You get three,
- 10:29Speaker 2: they get two. But that move up from ninety one
- 10:32Speaker 2: to sixty nine, really, I think is where I mean,
- 10:34Speaker 2: look at the look at the the trade value difference
- 10:37Speaker 2: there on his pick, like three pick sixty nine is
- 10:39Speaker 2: worth three forty six pick ninety one is where two
- 10:41Speaker 2: twenty one. That's a huge jump for the Bills to
- 10:44Speaker 2: amass that.
- 10:45Speaker 1: And just to help some of our fans listening about
- 10:49Speaker 1: the last time we did the double trade down was
- 10:52Speaker 1: ended up with Kean Coleman. Well, the time before that
- 10:55Speaker 1: we did a double trade down, we ended up with
- 10:57Speaker 1: James Cook. So sometimes it works out well, you know,
- 11:00Speaker 1: so that the last time that that was, you know,
- 11:03Speaker 1: trading back twice at the end of the second round,
- 11:05Speaker 1: we ended up getting James Cook out of it. So
- 11:07Speaker 1: and I will say, I don't think it's crazy to
- 11:10Speaker 1: do the math of the value they got back up
- 11:13Speaker 1: moving from twenty six down to thirty five is they
- 11:16Speaker 1: basically now netted out the value of the djmore trade
- 11:20Speaker 1: like they they got themselves. Basically, Hey, we'll give you
- 11:23Speaker 1: pick twenty six for pick thirty five, and djmore is
- 11:27Speaker 1: pretty close to what the value of that worked out as.
- 11:30Speaker 1: So if that's what you want to think about it
- 11:32Speaker 1: as oh man, we didn't get that, Well, now we
- 11:34Speaker 1: have sixty nine and we have one oh one, so
- 11:37Speaker 1: before it would have been sixty and ninety one. So relatively,
- 11:42Speaker 1: like you know, it's not exactly the same. We moved
- 11:44Speaker 1: from sixty to sixty six and ninety one to one
- 11:47Speaker 1: on one, but relatively they got plus we got an
- 11:51Speaker 1: extra fourth and an extra fifth. So I'll say those
- 11:53Speaker 1: trade outs so because probably sixty and the extra fourth
- 11:56Speaker 1: would get you know, sixty six and the extra fourth
- 11:58Speaker 1: is easily up to sixty and one on one in
- 12:02Speaker 1: the extra fifth is easily up to ninety one, so
- 12:05Speaker 1: I think that's fair. They basically got dj Moore for
- 12:08Speaker 1: trading down from twenty six to thirty five, so that's
- 12:10Speaker 1: a good good way to think about. It's a great
- 12:12Speaker 1: job by Allen's helps we.
- 12:14Speaker 2: All cause we got super chat from padd beautiful. Appreciate you, Padden,
- 12:18Speaker 2: thank you for being here, thanking you for a super chat.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I should have known. Padden says, yes, that's true, but
- 12:26Speaker 2: now we have enough Ammo to trade for Tremaine. Looks
- 12:29Speaker 2: like hashtag edgements is back on the menu. Boys, Happy
- 12:32Speaker 2: draft day, fils. I should have known, Well.
- 12:34Speaker 1: We'll played well. The only thing better is if you
- 12:38Speaker 1: had been reading it like full go and caught it live.
- 12:42Speaker 1: So the only thing better is if he could have
- 12:44Speaker 1: buried it like one sentence later in the super chat,
- 12:47Speaker 1: because those are my favorite, like where they get me
- 12:49Speaker 1: going and I'm reading it and then I catch it
- 12:51Speaker 1: like as I'm live in the read but well played bad.
- 12:54Speaker 2: I'm so used to because like I'm doing Disguis Covered solo,
- 12:57Speaker 2: I'm so used to bringing it up. But kind of
- 13:00Speaker 2: proof free to get before I go just exactly that
- 13:04Speaker 2: I shouldn't put up there. So yeah, and I scanned
- 13:06Speaker 2: quickly and SAWT for Maine and the hashtag. I was like,
- 13:09Speaker 2: I know where this is going. Well, plead man.
- 13:11Speaker 1: So the next one here again nothing negative technically a
- 13:17Speaker 1: slight value gain. The Bills traded pick twenty eight for
- 13:21Speaker 1: thirty one and one twenty five. They got an extra four,
- 13:23Speaker 1: they got a fourth rounder for moving down three spots.
- 13:26Speaker 1: It was basically full value. Technically, they got like the
- 13:30Speaker 1: extra value of a seventh rounder in addition, so they
- 13:33Speaker 1: didn't lose the trade. They got you know, full regular
- 13:37Speaker 1: value for moving down three spots. And again, the one
- 13:42Speaker 1: thing I will say is that in both of these trades,
- 13:45Speaker 1: I never like it when somebody trades up and then
- 13:47Speaker 1: takes a player that I would have wanted, or that
- 13:49Speaker 1: we would have debated or we would have had to
- 13:52Speaker 1: you know, always sit back and oh man, we picked
- 13:54Speaker 1: a receiver and they picked a receiver ahead of us,
- 13:56Speaker 1: and we let them trade down. We weren't going to
- 13:58Speaker 1: pick a guard in the spot. I get it, you
- 14:01Speaker 1: get away. It's you know, Alec Anderson versus Austin Corbett.
- 14:04Speaker 1: But like, I don't think we were going to take
- 14:06Speaker 1: a guard here early on, So the fact that the
- 14:09Speaker 1: Texans traded up for Keelan Rutledge and then the Pats
- 14:13Speaker 1: traded up for Caleb Lomu. I was fine with both
- 14:17Speaker 1: of those because they was like, all right, well good'
- 14:19Speaker 1: that's never gonna hang over my head as like, oh okay,
- 14:23Speaker 1: they ended up coming up for the offensive linement because
- 14:25Speaker 1: we weren't going to take a tackle. We weren't going
- 14:27Speaker 1: to do that. So this one again we didn't like
- 14:29Speaker 1: win the trade per se, but trading with the Pats
- 14:33Speaker 1: twenty eight for thirty one to one twenty five fair value,
- 14:36Speaker 1: we got another fourth rounder and I was fine, Like,
- 14:39Speaker 1: I wasn't upset, especially once I saw they picked Lomo.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm in a similar boat. I think the most
- 14:44Speaker 2: interesting thing is, like Lomo was a left tackle at Utah,
- 14:48Speaker 2: So does this mean the Will Campbell experiment at left
- 14:51Speaker 2: tackle is over for New England and they're now going
- 14:53Speaker 2: to kick him into guard? Maybe? So that's maybe kind
- 14:55Speaker 2: of like a trickle down effect for the future maybe
- 14:57Speaker 2: that we took part in. But yeah, I this was
- 15:00Speaker 2: like the type of deal that I thought was decently
- 15:04Speaker 2: realistic for the Bills going into the draft, which was
- 15:06Speaker 2: like trade back three or four five spots and pick
- 15:10Speaker 2: up an early fourth or something like that, A two
- 15:13Speaker 2: for one where the value is somewhat close. You're not
- 15:16Speaker 2: doing anything crazy. And again I wanted and I think
- 15:20Speaker 2: it made sense a lot in this class where the
- 15:23Speaker 2: value of who you're going to get at the back
- 15:25Speaker 2: end of round one isn't changing too much from twenty
- 15:27Speaker 2: eight to thirty one, and you're getting this extra capital,
- 15:30Speaker 2: and I know someone will see all it's like pick
- 15:32Speaker 2: one twenty five, Like what does that matter? I'll take
- 15:34Speaker 2: an extra fourth round pick in a class where there's
- 15:37Speaker 2: going to be value early and in the middle of
- 15:41Speaker 2: day three, which in round four is you know, pick
- 15:44Speaker 2: one twenty five is still in the middle of round four.
- 15:46Speaker 2: You're still early value there, and you're not really moving
- 15:49Speaker 2: back for much. And especially if you think, you know, hey,
- 15:52Speaker 2: we don't love anybody here at twenty eight, let's move
- 15:55Speaker 2: back three spots, pick up another top one twenty five pick. Yeah,
- 15:59Speaker 2: I say, I like this move. I wasn't over the
- 16:02Speaker 2: moon for it like I was. I don't know, I
- 16:04Speaker 2: shouldn't say over the moon in general, but I didn't
- 16:06Speaker 2: love it as much as the first move or the
- 16:08Speaker 2: third move, But I thought this was fine other than
- 16:11Speaker 2: the pettiness of being like, oh, New England, you want
- 16:14Speaker 2: somebody here.
- 16:15Speaker 1: No, So, speaking of that third move, the next one
- 16:22Speaker 1: to trade out of the first round altogether they did
- 16:25Speaker 1: a three for three trade with Tennessee, but the overall
- 16:28Speaker 1: math worked out very well, So again, this one was
- 16:31Speaker 1: probably I think I tried to scan through all of
- 16:34Speaker 1: Anthony's draft charts here. I think it was like the
- 16:38Speaker 1: fourth best value of any trade that happened in the
- 16:41Speaker 1: first round, the one of the Cowboys trades and one
- 16:43Speaker 1: of the other Dolphin The forty nine ers got a
- 16:46Speaker 1: little bit better value of the Dolphins trade up, but
- 16:49Speaker 1: I think it was the fourth highest one. The Bills
- 16:51Speaker 1: traded picks thirty one, sixty nine and one sixty five
- 16:55Speaker 1: for thirty five, sixty six and one oh one, so
- 16:58Speaker 1: you know, they traded down four spots to get a
- 17:01Speaker 1: slight bump up in their third rounder from sixty nine
- 17:05Speaker 1: to sixty six, but then a huge jump up in
- 17:07Speaker 1: the fourth in the from a fifth rounder in one
- 17:10Speaker 1: sixty five to the first pick of Day three and
- 17:13Speaker 1: Saturday at pick one oh one. So I did like
- 17:17Speaker 1: how that one came together really well. Again, going from
- 17:20Speaker 1: one sixty five to one oh one and getting like
- 17:23Speaker 1: a top one hundred player instead of a guy that's
- 17:25Speaker 1: you know, a late fifth rounder, I thought was a
- 17:28Speaker 1: really nice jump in place. You get the little bump
- 17:30Speaker 1: from sixty nine to sixty six. So again, now those
- 17:34Speaker 1: first three picks that we have were before we came
- 17:37Speaker 1: into today, or even before the DJ Moore trade at
- 17:40Speaker 1: twenty six, sixty and ninety one, and now at thirty five,
- 17:45Speaker 1: sixty six and one oh one basically recoup the full
- 17:48Speaker 1: uh trade for DJ Moore set us up well with
- 17:52Speaker 1: another junk coming afterwards.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Yeah, this now puts the Bills in a spot where
- 17:56Speaker 2: I end up liking. So their first pick in this
- 17:58Speaker 2: draft as of now is pick thirty five. But now
- 18:01Speaker 2: you're sitting You went from having you know, two picks
- 18:04Speaker 2: in the top one hundred and then your next pick
- 18:07Speaker 2: coming in the one twenties, and now you've got five
- 18:10Speaker 2: picks in the top one twenty six, including three in
- 18:14Speaker 2: the top one hundred and one, and then you get
- 18:16Speaker 2: that nice little split going from thirty five to sixty
- 18:19Speaker 2: six to one oh one. I really like this one again,
- 18:22Speaker 2: particularly you move back four spots from thirty one to
- 18:26Speaker 2: thirty five, but then you move up three from sixty
- 18:28Speaker 2: nine to sixty six, Like you said, a huge, huge
- 18:30Speaker 2: jump going from one sixty five to pick one on
- 18:33Speaker 2: one first pick in round four, if you wanted to
- 18:36Speaker 2: present it the biggest silver lining way. You kind of
- 18:38Speaker 2: almost got another third round pick there, which is really nice.
- 18:42Speaker 2: And this was the one I came close. I positive,
- 18:46Speaker 2: you know, from the Bills having picked twenty six, but
- 18:48Speaker 2: I proposed Tennessee giving thirty five and one oh one
- 18:53Speaker 2: to the Bills for pick twenty six. And then I
- 18:57Speaker 2: also mentioned that the Titans having a second rounder at
- 19:00Speaker 2: sixty six, which could influence them being more willing to
- 19:03Speaker 2: sacrifice one on one, and then the Bills having a
- 19:06Speaker 2: fifth round pick at one sixty five that could sweeten
- 19:09Speaker 2: the deal and balance out the value. So I got
- 19:11Speaker 2: four of these six picks, right.
- 19:13Speaker 1: That's wild Man's That's impressive.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I was close, Yeah, I uh three, yeah, thirty five,
- 19:18Speaker 2: one oh one, and then you nailing it from the
- 19:21Speaker 2: Bill side for the most part, so I uh am pleased.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Also, heck the fact that there were two other trade
- 19:26Speaker 1: downs so you didn't have to do a twenty six
- 19:28Speaker 1: that you were able to do it with thirty one,
- 19:31Speaker 1: get the other value from those two trades, and then
- 19:35Speaker 1: still nail the other pieces here. That's how good of
- 19:37Speaker 1: a value they were able to get. So ultimately they're
- 19:41Speaker 1: going to walk into tomorrow here, our guy aj Sibolski
- 19:44Speaker 1: has a nice list here to be able to share.
- 19:46Speaker 1: So nine picks going in with two of them tomorrow
- 19:50Speaker 1: on day two as of right now, I'm going to
- 19:52Speaker 1: mention my preference here in a bit, and then seven
- 19:57Speaker 1: picks on day three. So I I loved all three
- 20:00Speaker 1: trade downs. I loved I liked all three trade rounds.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I thought they were good value. And again, after some
- 20:07Speaker 1: of the guys that came off the board, this is
- 20:10Speaker 1: where I was at. I didn't want them to move
- 20:12Speaker 1: up unless it was like a Caleb Towns ruben Bain
- 20:15Speaker 1: type guy, like, hey, this is a top ten guy
- 20:17Speaker 1: that's falling down a little bit if you want to
- 20:18Speaker 1: give them some crazy especially when I saw what some
- 20:21Speaker 1: of the cost of some of the other trade ups,
- 20:23Speaker 1: where I was like, oh well, if teams are kind
- 20:25Speaker 1: of discounting where this comes from, let's see where that goes.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Dustin here saying with all these picks giving up slots
- 20:33Speaker 1: of the paths the Titans. What are your guys thoughts
- 20:34Speaker 1: on how great Greg's beard has gotten. So I appreciate that. Yeah,
- 20:40Speaker 1: it's it's showing. It's showing quite a bit here.
- 20:43Speaker 2: It's distinguished.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I appreciate it. So luckily, like this is staying nice.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I'm not unting any moneymakers the money maker's intact.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I So the sneaky part is I keep this short
- 20:54Speaker 1: because I am getting gray and silver in my temples here,
- 20:58Speaker 1: but I keep it short enough that you can't see it.
- 21:00Speaker 1: But yeah, the beard, it is, it is, it is showing.
- 21:03Speaker 1: But you know it's okay. I appreciate it doesn't very
- 21:05Speaker 1: very much. So I am now at a spot where
- 21:10Speaker 1: I liked each of the ones and appreciate TJ very much. Man,
- 21:13Speaker 1: you guys are awesome tonight. I'm now at the point where, okay,
- 21:18Speaker 1: now we can mess around. Get me back up here
- 21:21Speaker 1: one more time, so I want to see, Hey, what
- 21:24Speaker 1: does one twenty five, one sixty seven, and one sixty
- 21:28Speaker 1: eight get us? Can you get me up to ninety
- 21:30Speaker 1: and we can end up there with like thirty five
- 21:32Speaker 1: sixty six ninety and one O one. You know so,
- 21:36Speaker 1: and then we still would have like one twenty six,
- 21:38Speaker 1: so that I would like to combine three of those
- 21:41Speaker 1: four in the fourth and fifth round, combine three of
- 21:45Speaker 1: those and get me back up into the late into
- 21:47Speaker 1: the late third. So then we end up with something
- 21:50Speaker 1: like mat fact, I guess I can do it live
- 21:52Speaker 1: while we While we're talking here, do you.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Think you're so you're thinking like one twenty five, one
- 21:58Speaker 2: sixty seven, six and using that to move up into
- 22:01Speaker 2: like the nineties, Are you including one on one?
- 22:04Speaker 1: Uh no, no, no, so Keith starting with one twenty five,
- 22:07Speaker 1: So I'd like to take one twenty five one, let's see,
- 22:12Speaker 1: one sixty I'd probably do sixty seven and sixty eight.
- 22:15Speaker 1: So one twenty five, one sixty seven, one sixty eight
- 22:19Speaker 1: gives us fifty. Yeah, it's almost exactly to like pick
- 22:25Speaker 1: ninety eight ninety nine.
- 22:27Speaker 2: And then you get my dream of having four picks
- 22:29Speaker 2: in the top one hundred.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Yes, plus you still have one twenty five or one
- 22:33Speaker 1: twenty six, whichever one. So then you're talking four picks
- 22:36Speaker 1: in the top one twenty six. You're talking, you know,
- 22:41Speaker 1: being able to have or five picks in the top
- 22:44Speaker 1: one twenty five and four picks in the top hundred
- 22:48Speaker 1: and really getting that full value of what's there. So
- 22:51Speaker 1: I'd like to use that in you know, again, if
- 22:53Speaker 1: it's one on one to move up or whatever it
- 22:55Speaker 1: might be. I'm fine with whatever combination. But we've now
- 22:59Speaker 1: traded down three. I's gotten enough, ammo, that we can
- 23:03Speaker 1: mess around a little bit here, because it could also
- 23:06Speaker 1: be moving up from sixty six. You know, you could
- 23:10Speaker 1: take take two of those pieces, give me you know,
- 23:13Speaker 1: so sixty six plus let's say sixty will take one
- 23:20Speaker 1: from each of them. So sixty six plus one, twenty
- 23:23Speaker 1: six plus one sixty sixty.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Eight the early early fifties.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Yeah, so you're now talking that that's gonna let you take.
- 23:31Speaker 1: That's like thirty six that gets you up to fifty three.
- 23:39Speaker 1: So now now you're talking where you could get thirty
- 23:42Speaker 1: five and fifty three and still have one on one
- 23:45Speaker 1: and one twenty five. So again that could be where,
- 23:49Speaker 1: you know, and I don't know who's going to be
- 23:50Speaker 1: falling into that range, but say you do go with
- 23:54Speaker 1: McNeil Warren, or you do go with Caden McDonald or
- 23:57Speaker 1: something like that here, and then one of T. J. Parker,
- 24:01Speaker 1: Cassius Howell, Gabe Yakis, you know whoever it might be,
- 24:07Speaker 1: Zion Young is falling a little bit, or you really
- 24:11Speaker 1: want to go get a Chris Bell, or you really
- 24:13Speaker 1: want to go get a Ted Hurst, or let's say
- 24:17Speaker 1: they go with one of the edge rushers now and
- 24:20Speaker 1: Kristin Miller is still sitting there at fifty three, and
- 24:24Speaker 1: you want to move up from sixty six. They now
- 24:26Speaker 1: had the ammo to move around and go get a
- 24:28Speaker 1: couple guys that they really like. That sixty six pick
- 24:33Speaker 1: is where on a lot of boards, you see Jay Golde,
- 24:35Speaker 1: you see Josiah Trader, you see you know a lot
- 24:38Speaker 1: of guys who you and Eric have spent a lot
- 24:41Speaker 1: of time talking about the fit and the ability to
- 24:44Speaker 1: to put one of those guys in here. Kyle Lewis
- 24:47Speaker 1: Lee Hunter, Like, I really like a lot of the
- 24:49Speaker 1: names in that area, so getting you know, having one
- 24:53Speaker 1: there back again now that we kind of recouped that
- 24:56Speaker 1: DJ more pick, plus still having the other ones there.
- 25:00Speaker 1: I like the flexibility they've got and what they can
- 25:02Speaker 1: move around to be able to make something happen here.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Yeah, one thousand percent, I'm right there with you, And
- 25:08Speaker 2: like even if they stood pat with everything that they have.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Now I'd be happy and I'd be fine fine.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Picks, and especially the fact that seven of those nine
- 25:20Speaker 1: are like fifth rounders and above. You're not talking like
- 25:23Speaker 1: three sixth and two sevenths where like, all right, those
- 25:25Speaker 1: are basically borderline udfas the fact that you have, you know,
- 25:30Speaker 1: fourth and fifth round picks make rosters, like every single
- 25:33Speaker 1: fourth matter of fact, the last handful of years, every
- 25:35Speaker 1: fifth round pick has made the NFL roster for the
- 25:38Speaker 1: team to pick them. So you know, you're talking about
- 25:40Speaker 1: guys who are going to come in and play and
- 25:43Speaker 1: you know ideally be game day active contributors, special teams
- 25:47Speaker 1: or contributing wherever they're at. So like now you're talking
- 25:49Speaker 1: seven legitimate contributors that that could be really nice.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and oh grab this quick another super chat here
- 25:56Speaker 2: from TJ. Appreciates TJ then thank you for being here.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Think of for a super chat in the comment is
- 26:00Speaker 2: I feel like you essentially picked DJ Moore with your
- 26:02Speaker 2: first pick in the draft and then moved to the
- 26:05Speaker 2: top of rounds two, three, and four. Yeah, I mean,
- 26:08Speaker 2: depending we talked about that, you know, briefly, Greg, but
- 26:10Speaker 2: depending on how you looked at it, Yeah, we kind
- 26:11Speaker 2: of recouped the second we gave up for DJ Moore
- 26:15Speaker 2: and then added more capital on top of it, which
- 26:17Speaker 2: is a really nice thing to kind of Now it's
- 26:20Speaker 2: essentially you traded for DJ Moore, and now it's not
- 26:22Speaker 2: like all the draft capital plus the money. Now it's
- 26:24Speaker 2: just more like the money for GJA.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, So yeah, if you had come to me
- 26:29Speaker 1: and said, hey, we had to trade down from twenty
- 26:32Speaker 1: six to thirty five to get DJ Moore, I honestly
- 26:36Speaker 1: probably would have felt better about it than giving up picks.
- 26:40Speaker 1: That would have been like, yeah, no, I'm not especially
- 26:42Speaker 1: knowing this draft class and like where everybody had the
- 26:45Speaker 1: twelve first round grades, fourteen first round grades, nine first
- 26:47Speaker 1: round grades, whatever, it was like it was very unlikely
- 26:50Speaker 1: we were going to get a first round graded player
- 26:52Speaker 1: at twenty six. It would have been like, yeah, we're
- 26:54Speaker 1: probably gonna get pretty similar value. And especially the fact
- 26:58Speaker 1: that we might have need did one of the non
- 27:01Speaker 1: premium positions at a run something d tackle or an
- 27:04Speaker 1: off ball linebacker or a safety. I would have been like, yeah, yeah,
- 27:08Speaker 1: I'll take that. So yeah, however you want to think
- 27:10Speaker 1: about it, the fact that now we got that and
- 27:13Speaker 1: kind of lessened the impact of what we gave up there.
- 27:16Speaker 1: I like this combination quite a bit.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Yeah, one thousand percent. And then if you kind of
- 27:21Speaker 2: pair it in with what we were talking about, where
- 27:24Speaker 2: what you were breaking down with the flexibility, like it
- 27:27Speaker 2: just all now you have more flexibility and ammunition to
- 27:29Speaker 2: kind of do whatever you want. Do you want to
- 27:31Speaker 2: move up from one oh one? Do you want to
- 27:33Speaker 2: move up from you know, sixty six? Do you maybe
- 27:35Speaker 2: want to move up from one twenty five closer to
- 27:38Speaker 2: one oh one? Like there's there's all these options, and
- 27:41Speaker 2: now you've got to your point with having the nine picks,
- 27:44Speaker 2: but then having a good chunk of them in round
- 27:47Speaker 2: five and above. You've got that flexibility. You can make
- 27:50Speaker 2: some noise on day two, you can make some noise
- 27:53Speaker 2: early on day three. You could stand pat and still
- 27:55Speaker 2: have a good amount of value. You could cash in
- 27:58Speaker 2: some of that quantity for quality, like you outlined, I'm
- 28:02Speaker 2: happy with where they are. And again it's just because
- 28:05Speaker 2: of it's because of the value that's in this class.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Like I know, a lot of folks are gonna hang
- 28:10Speaker 2: their hat on wanting one specific guy or thinking that, oh,
- 28:13Speaker 2: this guy was going to be greater this guy was
- 28:15Speaker 2: going to be this. But the fact of it is,
- 28:18Speaker 2: you know, you know, and I'm saying this from my perspective,
- 28:20Speaker 2: but also I think from how the league is value
- 28:23Speaker 2: in the class this year, there's a lot of guys
- 28:25Speaker 2: with similar grades between like players twenty five and like fifty,
- 28:29Speaker 2: there's not a huge graded difference. And when you're a
- 28:32Speaker 2: team that is trying to get some cost effective talent
- 28:35Speaker 2: and is trying to you know, kind of patch some
- 28:38Speaker 2: holes up a little bit and add some roster flexibility
- 28:41Speaker 2: and retool and tweak things a little bit on the
- 28:44Speaker 2: defensive side of the ball, it helps to have all
- 28:47Speaker 2: these swings at the plate and all these dart throws
- 28:50Speaker 2: and whatever other verbiage you know you want to do
- 28:53Speaker 2: or use there to kind of uh uses euphemisms for
- 28:57Speaker 2: the NFL draft, which is a crapshoot at the end
- 29:01Speaker 2: of the day, Like there's a reason why teams miss
- 29:05Speaker 2: all the time. Like I feel like good success in
- 29:07Speaker 2: the NFL draft is almost kind of like a good
- 29:10Speaker 2: batting average, where if you're like hitting three hundred, it's
- 29:12Speaker 2: like you're only succeeding three out of ten. It's like
- 29:15Speaker 2: that's amazing, Like that's.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Really you have no idea how much better that is?
- 29:18Speaker 1: As I watch Hakeem Butler play in the UFL, like
- 29:24Speaker 1: so many guys, you know, there's so many guys that
- 29:26Speaker 1: I was so sure we're gonna end up being good,
- 29:28Speaker 1: They're like, man, how did that not work out? I
- 29:30Speaker 1: don't get it? Or the opposite, How are the Cowboys
- 29:33Speaker 1: so awesome at drafting and so terrible at football?
- 29:36Speaker 2: Man?
- 29:38Speaker 1: How do they keep doing this? Like they're just unbelievable
- 29:41Speaker 1: at drafting good football players and it never works into
- 29:45Speaker 1: winning football games?
- 29:46Speaker 2: Yeah, Jerry just like doesn't. It's like all things fall
- 29:49Speaker 2: into his lap and then he has to find a
- 29:51Speaker 2: way to get them to fall back out of his.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Last mostly overpaying waiting to play pay players.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Usually like he like he feels like too much of
- 29:59Speaker 2: a good Like he's a secret massochist that he feels
- 30:01Speaker 2: like too much of a good thing. He's like, I
- 30:03Speaker 2: can't have that. I have to balance things out with
- 30:04Speaker 2: the negative and just screw things up in free agency
- 30:07Speaker 2: and what I'm paying guys, and man, Kate Downs Downs
- 30:10Speaker 2: and Jalen Thompson is such a sick safety room. That's
- 30:13Speaker 2: gonna be so fun for Dallas and Mike Apart. Oh wait,
- 30:18Speaker 2: it's definitely crazy for them. But I again, now the Bills.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Day two becomes really fun in early day three becomes
- 30:26Speaker 2: fun for the Bills even if they stand pat I
- 30:29Speaker 2: think they're in a good a good spot, right, But
- 30:33Speaker 2: like you said, you could cash in some of those
- 30:35Speaker 2: chips and not even sacrifice a ton. You can cash
- 30:38Speaker 2: in some of those chips relatively easily for more quality overall,
- 30:43Speaker 2: or in certain instances in a vacuum.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Yeah. So let's, uh, before we wrap up here, let's
- 30:48Speaker 1: talk a little bit about best available here. I'm going
- 30:51Speaker 1: to bring up the Ringers Draft Guide. You know, again
- 30:53Speaker 1: there's a lot of draft boards there, so this isn't perfect,
- 30:55Speaker 1: but relatively is going to show the best available guys
- 30:59Speaker 1: that are out here. I might even be able to
- 31:01Speaker 1: shrink it down a little bit more.
- 31:03Speaker 2: They move when you kind of go over when I
- 31:05Speaker 2: like it.
- 31:05Speaker 1: It is nice. Their draft guys always really like and
- 31:08Speaker 1: it's actually fantastic on mobile too, So I get free
- 31:10Speaker 1: promo for the guys over the Ringer.
- 31:13Speaker 2: The little the cards moving when you your cursor goes
- 31:16Speaker 2: over them. I don't know why I find this extremely
- 31:19Speaker 2: aesthetically pleasing. This is like ASMR for me.
- 31:22Speaker 1: So again, I think from a Bills standpoint, I don't
- 31:25Speaker 1: expect McCoy or Terrell. Regardless of how many people tried
- 31:28Speaker 1: to give us a corner in their mock draft, nothing
- 31:31Speaker 1: drove me more crazy. Then I was like, do you
- 31:34Speaker 1: not see our roster at all? Like you?
- 31:37Speaker 2: I understand like the idea of like, oh, they don't
- 31:40Speaker 2: have a corner three and corners a premium spot, but
- 31:42Speaker 2: also like Benford Hairston and I do think corner three
- 31:46Speaker 2: is like a sneaky need and it is a player
- 31:49Speaker 2: that'll that will play this year, but it's not a
- 31:52Speaker 2: bigger need than what they got going on in the
- 31:55Speaker 2: front and maybe even a wide receiver like I just yeah,
- 31:58Speaker 2: I get it, but I.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Can get it a versatile piece who is hey are
- 32:03Speaker 1: they Is it a safety? Is it a nickel? Can
- 32:06Speaker 1: they play outside? Is it you know somebody maybe with
- 32:08Speaker 1: some size who can you know play in the overhang?
- 32:11Speaker 1: Whatever it might be? Like I guess I could see
- 32:14Speaker 1: one of those of like, hey, we did add three
- 32:16Speaker 1: guys back there, but all three of you know, Terrell
- 32:21Speaker 1: and Gardner, Johnson and Stone, are you know, not long
- 32:24Speaker 1: term fits for what we need, So having like a
- 32:27Speaker 1: legitimate upgrade would have been fine, but you know it
- 32:31Speaker 1: was you know there. So although if we picked DiAngelo Pons,
- 32:34Speaker 1: I'll get over it. I'll just I'll just watch highlight
- 32:37Speaker 1: to the pick six in the in the championship game
- 32:39Speaker 1: and go from there. So with you seeing who's here
- 32:43Speaker 1: and the work that you've done preparing for this, what
- 32:46Speaker 1: is your wish list as we're going to start to
- 32:49Speaker 1: pick thirty three, so there's going to be thirty three,
- 32:51Speaker 1: thirty four, the Bills will pick third coming in here
- 32:55Speaker 1: to start day day two of the draft. What is
- 32:59Speaker 1: your board are going to stack it of what your
- 33:01Speaker 1: preference would be at this pick.
- 33:03Speaker 2: I don't want anyone to yell at me, but I
- 33:04Speaker 2: don't want to trade back again.
- 33:07Speaker 1: I won't lie. Like. There are more than three guys
- 33:10Speaker 1: that I like here, and there's multiple that I would
- 33:12Speaker 1: feel perfectly fine with. If they were to do something
- 33:14Speaker 1: where it's like thirty five and one twenty six and
- 33:18Speaker 1: they end up with like forty and eighty seven or
- 33:21Speaker 1: whatever something like that, and they get another top one
- 33:24Speaker 1: hundred pick and you get there, I'd be perfectly fine
- 33:26Speaker 1: with it.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Yeah, there's there's just I feel like now I'm like
- 33:31Speaker 2: in that the mock draft mode of like how many
- 33:34Speaker 2: trade backs can I.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Like do what's the record for trade backs?
- 33:37Speaker 2: That's exactly it, Like, can I keep going even further?
- 33:42Speaker 2: The biggest thing for me, and it's going to start
- 33:43Speaker 2: the domino effect going from there. And I feel like
- 33:46Speaker 2: it's a conversation a lot of folks have had. I
- 33:50Speaker 2: think they need a true run based interior defender. You know,
- 33:54Speaker 2: whether you want to label that is the nose or
- 33:56Speaker 2: the one tech that we have in previous years, whatever,
- 33:58Speaker 2: I don't care, because this person's going to work into
- 34:01Speaker 2: the odd front looks and the even front looks. I like,
- 34:05Speaker 2: if you could guarantee me that you could get Domini
- 34:09Speaker 2: Gorange at like one hundred or one on one, now
- 34:13Speaker 2: I should say where they have that, I would be
- 34:15Speaker 2: fine not taking Caiden McDonald or Kristin Miller. Now I
- 34:20Speaker 2: see they have Miller a little lower. I have Miller
- 34:22Speaker 2: and McDonald both in a similar tiar and I.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Think this is pretty one of the lowest rankings I've
- 34:28Speaker 1: seen for him. So again, this is just one group's rankings.
- 34:30Speaker 1: I think most places have Miller closer to that thirty
- 34:33Speaker 1: to forty range, but again it's all relative.
- 34:36Speaker 2: I think it's funny that they have Miller's comp as
- 34:38Speaker 2: Daikon Jones and then Aid McDonald's is an event horizon.
- 34:42Speaker 2: That's funny.
- 34:43Speaker 1: I will say this is the if there's any great
- 34:50Speaker 1: skill for Danny Kelly, his comparisons are unbelievable, Like his
- 34:58Speaker 1: comps are hysterical of what he picks for guys. That's
- 35:01Speaker 1: so funny.
- 35:02Speaker 2: And yeah, for me, I like McDonald, I like Miller,
- 35:06Speaker 2: I have them tiered similarly. I actually liked Miller more
- 35:12Speaker 2: the more I went through this process, and I liked
- 35:14Speaker 2: Caid McDonald less. But I would be fine with either
- 35:18Speaker 2: of them at thirty five. I'd be fine with the linebacker.
- 35:21Speaker 2: What I'd love to do right now if we could
- 35:23Speaker 2: guarantee things like, I give me, give me Caid McDonald
- 35:27Speaker 2: or Kristin Miller at thirty five, and then give me
- 35:29Speaker 2: Josiah Trotter at sixty six.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Yeah, do one of these guys. If you could tell
- 35:34Speaker 1: me that we for sure get one of Kyle Lewis
- 35:37Speaker 1: Golde or Trotter at sixty six, I big in, I'm done.
- 35:41Speaker 1: I don't care who you pick. Pick pick one of
- 35:42Speaker 1: the guys that are there.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm in with that, that kind of mold. I'm
- 35:49Speaker 2: super torn on the edge grouping. I also have Zion
- 35:53Speaker 2: Young a little higher. I have Zion Young in the
- 35:55Speaker 2: same tier. I had Zion Young, T J. Parker, and
- 35:57Speaker 2: mal Ky Lawrence on a similar tier, though they're like
- 36:00Speaker 2: different kinds of players. I really like Kroon Crawford from Auburn.
- 36:05Speaker 2: He Actually, the more I watched Keldric Fault for Auburn,
- 36:08Speaker 2: the more my eyes kept going to twenty four. Oh,
- 36:10Speaker 2: I love this comp is Carl Granerson. That's a good comp.
- 36:14Speaker 2: I'm horrible with comps and that's why I never made him. Plus,
- 36:17Speaker 2: I think they said on fair expectations, so I'm always
- 36:19Speaker 2: appreciative of a good one. So yeah, if you could,
- 36:21Speaker 2: and I.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Like, I will say real quick, I like, I very
- 36:24Speaker 1: much appreciate that. Danny doesn't compare everyone to like Hall
- 36:28Speaker 1: of famers and like their best like you see a
- 36:31Speaker 1: lot of names here, like Derek Hall, Preston Smith, Jabal Sheard,
- 36:35Speaker 1: Derek Morgan. Like he doesn't pick like the best possible
- 36:39Speaker 1: scenario for every single guy.
- 36:40Speaker 2: He tries to be Reggie White, Reggie White, Warren sap like,
- 36:44Speaker 2: because you're like, what are you doing? Why is this? Yeah,
- 36:46Speaker 2: those guys aren't.
- 36:47Speaker 1: So which of these safeties is most likely to be
- 36:49Speaker 1: ed Reid?
- 36:50Speaker 2: Right, that's exactly Edward Troy, Paul, Roddy Lot You're like, really,
- 36:54Speaker 2: for sa Key Wheatley, your comp is Ronnie lot Uh.
- 36:58Speaker 2: For the audio listeners, that is, I will say that's funny.
- 37:02Speaker 1: For Jayleen Kilgore, I've seen that more than one place.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Gardner Johnson as the comparison for Kilger, I've seen that
- 37:09Speaker 1: more than one place, and again the same thing. If
- 37:11Speaker 1: you tell me we can get Kilgore, would that pick one?
- 37:13Speaker 1: Oh one? I'd be very pleased.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Safety is a weird one. Well, and I want to
- 37:17Speaker 2: talk about that, but we got another super chat. Bill's
- 37:20Speaker 2: fan sc seven. Thank you very much for being here.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Thank you for the super chat. The question with the
- 37:24Speaker 2: super chat is if being trades back again, provided he
- 37:28Speaker 2: gets good value in return, how far back can he move?
- 37:32Speaker 2: And you would be comfortable with the trade. Speaking loosely,
- 37:37Speaker 2: if he traded back from thirty five and ended up
- 37:40Speaker 2: with something in like the early forties, and then another
- 37:44Speaker 2: pick in like the eighties or the seventies, I would
- 37:46Speaker 2: take that. So I don't know what tea. I think
- 37:48Speaker 2: the Steelers have something comparable.
- 37:50Speaker 1: To That's just it's literally exactly what I was looking for.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Is who in this range here has to say? I
- 38:00Speaker 1: mean Houston again, Cleveland, Casey, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Jamain.
- 38:03Speaker 2: He was gonna have thirty eight and sixty No, no, wait,
- 38:06Speaker 2: they don't have sixty nine now because we don't have.
- 38:08Speaker 1: That any longer. So like Miami having forty three and
- 38:12Speaker 1: seventy five, that combination where you're getting two hundred and
- 38:17Speaker 1: one points, so the bills at PICKF, you would do
- 38:21Speaker 1: that one and then you would give up like one
- 38:23Speaker 1: twenty five, like that kind of thing. You would do
- 38:26Speaker 1: thirty five and twenty five for forty three and seventy five.
- 38:31Speaker 1: That would be the range we'd be looking.
- 38:33Speaker 2: For, maybe even maybe Baltimore.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Forty five is probably getting close to my limit. I
- 38:42Speaker 1: wouldn't want to go a lot lower than that, But
- 38:44Speaker 1: if you could get me back into this range in.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Fact, to do New Orleans, I'd love to do New
- 38:50Speaker 2: Orleans forty two and seventy three, But I think that's
- 38:53Speaker 2: probably a little too range.
- 38:54Speaker 1: We have to give up. We might have to give
- 38:56Speaker 1: up one on one to do that like math wise,
- 39:01Speaker 1: or it would actually probably be multi It probably be
- 39:04Speaker 1: like thirty five, one twenty five and one sixty seven
- 39:07Speaker 1: something like that.
- 39:08Speaker 2: I would do that for forty.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's probably the range. I wouldn't want to
- 39:14Speaker 1: go much beyond Baltimore's forty five. But yeah, getting somewhere
- 39:18Speaker 1: into that range where you're still talking about again, you know,
- 39:23Speaker 1: someone in the range of hey, we're probably still getting
- 39:27Speaker 1: Rodriguez Hill junior Kristen Miller. You know, say if we
- 39:31Speaker 1: dropped like forty two and still got Kristin Miller there
- 39:34Speaker 1: and got that extra pick there to where you're now
- 39:36Speaker 1: talking about, Oh, so we could then get a safety
- 39:40Speaker 1: and the linebacker and a receiver, you know, and you're
- 39:43Speaker 1: getting all those in the top one oh one. Now
- 39:45Speaker 1: I'm feeling really good where you're telling me we get
- 39:48Speaker 1: Kristan Miller and we still get ted Hurst, and we
- 39:52Speaker 1: still get Josiah Trotter, and we get a safety and
- 39:56Speaker 1: we get let's say it was he maybe Dominic Cornch.
- 40:01Speaker 1: You get the d tackle there. So that kind of
- 40:02Speaker 1: or I guess if we picked Miller we wouldn't need him,
- 40:04Speaker 1: but that kind of offer.
- 40:07Speaker 2: The edge from from Auburn there. Yeah, and I'm right
- 40:10Speaker 2: there with you. I like arbitrarily kind of set Baltimore
- 40:13Speaker 2: at forty five as the limit. But that was a
- 40:17Speaker 2: really good question. Bill's fantasy seven think for that thought question.
- 40:20Speaker 1: But yeah, I think that's that's where my head is
- 40:23Speaker 1: at for tomorrow and what I'm looking to do. I
- 40:25Speaker 1: want to see more maneuvering. I love the aggression. I
- 40:28Speaker 1: love picking up the AMMO to be able to move around,
- 40:31Speaker 1: especially where there wasn't necessarily an obvious screaming pick, especially
- 40:36Speaker 1: with that run of four or five guys right before
- 40:38Speaker 1: our pick. So once we got to that spot, I
- 40:40Speaker 1: thought that was the best case scenario. Like once Concepsio
- 40:44Speaker 1: and Phenemn went off the board, I think that was
- 40:46Speaker 1: the best case scenario. Was to be able to recoup value.
- 40:49Speaker 1: He won all three trades, two of them by a
- 40:52Speaker 1: by a material amount, and put us into a spot
- 40:55Speaker 1: where now we have AMMO for today recoup the value
- 40:58Speaker 1: of the DJ Moore trade gave us maneuverability. And I
- 41:01Speaker 1: know earlier there was a question of how many guys
- 41:03Speaker 1: would make the roster, and I said, you know, statistically
- 41:06Speaker 1: every fifth rounder has made the roster has made the
- 41:09Speaker 1: NFL roster of the last like five six years. It
- 41:12Speaker 1: was a while since the last one didn't. But tell
- 41:15Speaker 1: me that, like the sixth rounders are fullback and the
- 41:18Speaker 1: seventh rounders jack Stonehouse, and all of a sudden, you
- 41:22Speaker 1: know you might have all nine guys make the roster
- 41:25Speaker 1: to be able to do this, And honestly, you know,
- 41:27Speaker 1: we could use a nice injection of young, cheap talent here,
- 41:31Speaker 1: and you know we don't need all nine picks to
- 41:35Speaker 1: be hits. Like find me three of them that are
- 41:38Speaker 1: nice contributors here and then others are just solid depth
- 41:41Speaker 1: that we'll see what it turns into. All of a sudden,
- 41:44Speaker 1: I'm feeling much better.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm right there with you. And there's there's just
- 41:47Speaker 2: a lot of like like say, safety is a good example, right,
- 41:50Speaker 2: Like I'm comfortable going into this year being like, Okay,
- 41:54Speaker 2: it's c J and Bishop and then Gino Stone is
- 41:57Speaker 2: probably your three, right, But then Gino and CJ are
- 42:00Speaker 2: both on one years, so you have to address safety
- 42:03Speaker 2: again next year, So do you address safety now? And
- 42:08Speaker 2: also like you could address safety now, and you know
- 42:10Speaker 2: you could get Bud Clarke att picked sixty six or
- 42:12Speaker 2: maybe even like one on one something like that. Maybe
- 42:15Speaker 2: you do take a manual McNeil Warren at thirty five
- 42:18Speaker 2: and then now you have a cool you know, three
- 42:21Speaker 2: safety package for this year and someone to take over
- 42:23Speaker 2: the full time role next year. You can cut Geno
- 42:26Speaker 2: Stone this year. Sorry Geno. There's not really any dead
- 42:28Speaker 2: cap to get rid of them.
- 42:30Speaker 1: You can also use like Garter Johnson even in some
- 42:33Speaker 1: nickel looks, and you can do you can have some
- 42:35Speaker 1: dime looks. You can do some three two six looks
- 42:38Speaker 1: like it gives you a lot. I want to give
- 42:40Speaker 1: Jim Leonard as much, you know, variability and optionality is
- 42:45Speaker 1: what we can't just.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Give him much positional fields, yes, yeah, like.
- 42:49Speaker 1: I want Bishop on the field all the time. I
- 42:51Speaker 1: don't care if any of the rest of them play
- 42:53Speaker 1: all the snaps, like use them in the scenarios and
- 42:55Speaker 1: spots that make sense. Like I'm I'm perfectly fine with that.
- 42:59Speaker 1: I actually had some and put up the idea. You
- 43:01Speaker 1: know that there are some of the things where if
- 43:03Speaker 1: you're putting Stone more as you know, some spots is
- 43:08Speaker 1: just a depth guy. Let him just help be the
- 43:10Speaker 1: guy talking to Jalen Kilgore and have Kilgar learn is
- 43:14Speaker 1: get him at pick one oh one, and hope that
- 43:16Speaker 1: next year he's ready to do that. And then maybe
- 43:19Speaker 1: we want one more year out of Gardner Johnson and
- 43:21Speaker 1: maybe they switch and Kilger becomes a starter and Gardner
- 43:24Speaker 1: Johnson is the third piece, you know that kind of thing.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Yeah, And that's a that's like a fun conversation with safety.
- 43:30Speaker 2: It's even kind of a similar conversation a wide receiver,
- 43:33Speaker 2: where it's like, receiver's not your biggest need right now,
- 43:36Speaker 2: but there's a world next year where Kean Coleman and
- 43:40Speaker 2: maybe even Josh Palmer aren't on this team, and then
- 43:43Speaker 2: you're looking at your only known quantities or DJ Moore
- 43:45Speaker 2: and Shakir and a returning Tyrrel Shavers from injury. So yeah,
- 43:51Speaker 2: I had Titan says, give me the event horizon, referencing
- 43:54Speaker 2: McDonald's call for the rigor that's good. Yeah, I'm I.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Could be the Hurst, give me Skylar Pell, give me.
- 44:01Speaker 2: Played in so many directions in a positive manner. Again,
- 44:05Speaker 2: the Bills would have to really do something so niche
- 44:09Speaker 2: to piss me off in this draft because there's.
- 44:13Speaker 1: An offensive tackle a state end are running back. Yes,
- 44:18Speaker 1: it would have to be one of those things, like
- 44:20Speaker 1: what the hell is going on? Like honestly, like I'm
- 44:24Speaker 1: fine with Corbett versus Alec Anderson, but if they pick
- 44:26Speaker 1: a guard, I'd be like, all right, I can understand it.
- 44:30Speaker 1: If we're on board with that, I got it, Like
- 44:33Speaker 1: you know, like you said, I don't want a guy
- 44:35Speaker 1: who's like an outside corner only, but like a guy
- 44:38Speaker 1: who's a corner, but he can play nickel, he can
- 44:41Speaker 1: play multiple spots, to move around, contribute on special teams,
- 44:44Speaker 1: Like I'm okay with that. Like again here this super timing. Yeah,
- 44:50Speaker 1: will you go crazy? If the Bills go offensive Garden
- 44:52Speaker 1: Round two, I would say.
- 44:55Speaker 2: I wouldn't love It'd be okay, I wouldn't love it.
- 44:57Speaker 1: At thirty five, sixty six one or a move up
- 45:01Speaker 1: is somewhere there, I'd be fine, Like it's it's a
- 45:04Speaker 1: reasonable pick. And you know, honestly, one of those picks
- 45:07Speaker 1: at one, twenty five, twenty six, one sixty seven, one
- 45:10Speaker 1: sixty eight is going to be offensive linemen, like we
- 45:13Speaker 1: always refilled the pipeline with guys. From that standpoint, whoever
- 45:17Speaker 1: this year's Chase Lunt is or whoever this year.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Is, as every team should you should always be taking
- 45:22Speaker 2: the same corners and on both sides of the ball.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Absolutely, it's exactly how you you know, how you build
- 45:27Speaker 1: that and find those guys and and develop them, and
- 45:29Speaker 1: why we were able to let David Edwards walk without
- 45:32Speaker 1: needing to worry like that's why, because we're able to
- 45:35Speaker 1: fill those.
- 45:35Speaker 2: So yeah, I'm right there with you.
- 45:38Speaker 1: I am. Any final thoughts for the people now, I'm just.
- 45:43Speaker 2: I'm sincerely pleased with what they did for a person
- 45:46Speaker 2: who I've said this multiple times, you know, if not
- 45:49Speaker 2: for the Jim Leonard hiring, I would largely be down
- 45:52Speaker 2: on this offseason for the Bills. I am pretty pleased
- 45:56Speaker 2: with where they stand right now. And just again the
- 45:58Speaker 2: flexibility that we talked about. Yeah, and then the Sabers
- 46:01Speaker 2: one tonight, which is awesome, good comment there in the chat.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Oh we didn't make the joke of like, welcome to
- 46:06Speaker 2: the Sabers post game.
- 46:07Speaker 1: I caught it like I got two minutes in and
- 46:10Speaker 1: I was like, oh, man, I should have done that,
- 46:11Speaker 1: said the Blueberries. It would have been better.
- 46:12Speaker 2: But even texted about it too, Man, wed we'll we'll,
- 46:16Speaker 2: we'll do it.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, I agree.
- 46:19Speaker 2: I like where they are a lot of flexibility. There's
- 46:21Speaker 2: good value in this class that they can still address
- 46:23Speaker 2: the multitude of needs if they just stand pat or
- 46:26Speaker 2: if they make moves like we talked about, sacrifice some
- 46:28Speaker 2: quantity for quality. I am. I am pleasantly pleased as
- 46:32Speaker 2: we sit here right now.
- 46:34Speaker 1: So one last one here, what are your thoughts on
- 46:38Speaker 1: Denzel Boston? Like I I like the I don't. I've
- 46:43Speaker 1: I probably unfairly lumped him in as Ken Coleman two
- 46:46Speaker 1: point zero, and I didn't want that. But smart people
- 46:49Speaker 1: like min Kaimes loves Denzel Boston, Danny Kelly that that
- 46:53Speaker 1: we just had his guide up as him nineteenth. Overall,
- 46:56Speaker 1: there are smart people who really like Denzel Boston, and
- 47:00Speaker 1: I think he can be a Mike Evans Ball winner
- 47:03Speaker 1: kind of guy. And if the team, I would say,
- 47:06Speaker 1: if the Bills thought he was that, we wouldn't have
- 47:09Speaker 1: traded back three times, like you know, like you know,
- 47:12Speaker 1: the same idea. I got into that a little bit
- 47:14Speaker 1: with our guy Chris Chause on Omar Cooper in that like, oh,
- 47:19Speaker 1: we let the Jets snipe us for them, Like dude,
- 47:21Speaker 1: we trade it back twice already, Like if we thought
- 47:23Speaker 1: Omar Cooper was that guy. We wouldn't have traded back
- 47:25Speaker 1: twice already to that spot. We would have taken him
- 47:28Speaker 1: like it. Obviously they had a pretty solid grouping or
- 47:32Speaker 1: tear or had a guy in mind who was not
- 47:36Speaker 1: at a premium position that they knew they could drop
- 47:38Speaker 1: back and still get, which makes me think dtackle or
- 47:42Speaker 1: linebacker is the pick is My guess is that they
- 47:45Speaker 1: were planning to take one of those guys and they
- 47:47Speaker 1: knew they could drop back and still get him, because
- 47:49Speaker 1: they didn't care if it was McDonald or Christen Miller
- 47:51Speaker 1: or they didn't Carafas Jacob Radriguez or Anthony Hill like that.
- 47:54Speaker 1: They were just going to pick one of those guys
- 47:56Speaker 1: and that they knew they could still get. Hey, we're
- 47:59Speaker 1: gonna get one of those four. It this pick, and
- 48:00Speaker 1: we're fine with it because we're going to go that direction.
- 48:03Speaker 1: So I think it's more similar there. But if they
- 48:06Speaker 1: picked Denzel Boston at thirty five after all the other
- 48:09Speaker 1: stuff they did, cool, Look all right, I'll figure it out.
- 48:14Speaker 1: And then Patten here is saying if we go offensive
- 48:16Speaker 1: guard at thirty five, I will celebrate with the three
- 48:18Speaker 1: other Bills fans who are fans of keeping Josh Allen alive.
- 48:21Speaker 1: I've been standing for it all off season. Again, protecting
- 48:25Speaker 1: Josh Allen is always a great idea. I'm never going
- 48:27Speaker 1: to be upset.
- 48:28Speaker 2: No, and yeah I wouldn't.
- 48:30Speaker 1: I it's not my preference.
- 48:32Speaker 2: But no, yeah, it's not my preference. At thirty five,
- 48:35Speaker 2: I wouldn't love it, but I'd be fine with it,
- 48:37Speaker 2: and I'd understand. Even Boston. I have a second round
- 48:42Speaker 2: grade on Boston. The thing for Boston that's weird with
- 48:45Speaker 2: me is he moves better then he should given his
- 48:49Speaker 2: size and frame. But then he's also not as physical
- 48:52Speaker 2: as I'd like him to be given his size and frame.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Like there's times where guys get into him far too
- 48:57Speaker 2: often in his releases and in his stems where I'm like, dude,
- 49:01Speaker 2: you're like six two and two hundred and twelve pounds
- 49:04Speaker 2: or even bigger than six two, Like push that dude off,
- 49:06Speaker 2: like chop his arms, beat him up, like play bigger
- 49:09Speaker 2: than you are. And he doesn't do that, But then
- 49:11Speaker 2: he'll play big at the catchpoint. He's got great hands,
- 49:13Speaker 2: a natural hands catcher, big hands, strong, mits makes really
- 49:17Speaker 2: good catches. He's got more shake to him and can
- 49:20Speaker 2: move a bit better then he gets credit for for
- 49:22Speaker 2: his size. He's not gonna pull away from anyone or
- 49:24Speaker 2: run past anybody. I also don't think he's as good
- 49:27Speaker 2: of a route runner as I like him to be,
- 49:29Speaker 2: but I have I have a solid two on him.
- 49:31Speaker 2: I can understand if he would if he was the
- 49:33Speaker 2: pick or if people like him. I don't love him
- 49:35Speaker 2: like that. I like him enough, but I would. I
- 49:39Speaker 2: would rather given where the receivers are now, I'd rather
- 49:42Speaker 2: go receiver ideally like later where we're looking into like
- 49:46Speaker 2: one oh one, And I'd rather go for that conversation
- 49:49Speaker 2: in day three or late day two.
- 49:52Speaker 1: And if we go that route, get me a guy
- 49:54Speaker 1: with the skill set that oh good. He comes in
- 49:57Speaker 1: as our number one punt returner and as our guy
- 50:00Speaker 1: who can be ah, he has a roster, a jersey
- 50:03Speaker 1: on game day and hopefully develops into more. I want
- 50:07Speaker 1: that kind of guy if we do that, which is
- 50:09Speaker 1: the Skylar Bells, which is the you know, the those
- 50:12Speaker 1: kind of guys to to.
- 50:14Speaker 2: You know, if you want Skyler bell or you know
- 50:16Speaker 2: Brendan Thompson. I'd like Brennan Thompson from Mississippi State, not
- 50:19Speaker 2: just because he's an absolute flyer, but because he's like,
- 50:24Speaker 2: he's like a good blocker even though he's small, better
- 50:26Speaker 2: route runner than he gives credit for that he gets
- 50:28Speaker 2: credit for. Yeah, like I would take him. I also
- 50:30Speaker 2: like Dion Burk's, another smaller but absolutely electric receiver from Oklahoma.
- 50:35Speaker 2: I think it'd be interesting to see if Bryce Lance
- 50:37Speaker 2: is still on the board when you go there. Like
- 50:39Speaker 2: the size and the length and the frame later there. Oh,
- 50:44Speaker 2: I hate this comment is super chat. I really like
- 50:49Speaker 2: Casius Howell and the juice that he brings, but he's
- 50:52Speaker 2: just an absolute liability against the run.
- 50:55Speaker 1: You can't play like twenty nine inch arms or something
- 50:58Speaker 1: stupid like.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Don't I don't remember the exact measurement, but his percentile
- 51:05Speaker 2: length is the zero percentile I know.
- 51:09Speaker 1: I heard someone say twenty nine inches, which I didn't
- 51:12Speaker 1: even know was something that would happen, Like with NFL
- 51:17Speaker 1: edge rushers thirty quarter, thirty and a quarter.
- 51:21Speaker 2: Yeah, they're small.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I should not have longer arms than the an NFL
- 51:26Speaker 1: defensive end.
- 51:26Speaker 2: It's just so. And in between that and the overall
- 51:29Speaker 2: size and frame, like you, you can't play him on
- 51:32Speaker 2: the closed side of a formation because it's going to
- 51:35Speaker 2: absolutely annihilate it, like if the team if you put
- 51:37Speaker 2: him on the close side where the tight end is,
- 51:38Speaker 2: and his team runs duo at him, he's gonna get annihilated.
- 51:41Speaker 2: And even if he's on the open side, if a
- 51:43Speaker 2: team runs like zone at him, like week side zone,
- 51:47Speaker 2: I don't love that either. But he's a velociraptor and
- 51:50Speaker 2: he's got dip and bended juice. I want that type
- 51:54Speaker 2: of skill set, which is why I understood, like oh
- 51:56Speaker 2: Malki Lawrence like linear speed, juice, acceleration, even though he's
- 51:59Speaker 2: much differs. But compared to Howell, I like Zion Young.
- 52:03Speaker 2: I think Zion Young is more of what they already
- 52:05Speaker 2: have long strong go through you like, Yeah, not a
- 52:11Speaker 2: pass russ specialist, really good against the run. But I
- 52:13Speaker 2: think he does enough as a pass rusher combined with
- 52:16Speaker 2: his run defense that I like him. I'd rather so
- 52:18Speaker 2: I would take Zion Young over Howl if it was
- 52:20Speaker 2: between those two.
- 52:21Speaker 1: At thirty five, keya morey collin for the Tokyo to
- 52:24Speaker 1: no shock. I respect it. So one last thing to
- 52:29Speaker 1: close out here, let's each call our shot. We're going
- 52:32Speaker 1: to assume they stay at pick thirty five. Who is
- 52:35Speaker 1: the pick I think our best case scenario is we
- 52:41Speaker 1: get a player that was probably the most commonly mocked
- 52:44Speaker 1: player to us at twenty six, and we still get
- 52:47Speaker 1: him at thirty five, and that's Kate McDonald. That's my probably,
- 52:52Speaker 1: I won't I don't even know if it's actually my wish,
- 52:56Speaker 1: but I think that's I think that's the pick that
- 52:59Speaker 1: makes the most people happy, because everybody saw that as
- 53:03Speaker 1: our pick and like, oh we got him, and the
- 53:05Speaker 1: trade dout m I think that's fair.
- 53:07Speaker 2: I God bless you. I'm in a similar boat. I'll
- 53:12Speaker 2: just because just to give another option, and because they
- 53:16Speaker 2: brought this other guy in for a top thirty, I'll
- 53:18Speaker 2: say Kristin Miller from Georgia. That'll be my thought. There
- 53:21Speaker 2: just has a little more movement to him in his game.
- 53:24Speaker 2: I also think he plays against double teams better than
- 53:27Speaker 2: Caden McDonald does. But yeah, I'm gonna go with I'd
- 53:30Speaker 2: say McDonald or Miller at thirty five, and then I'm
- 53:33Speaker 2: gonna say Trotter at sixty six.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Yeah. So I would like our next two picks to
- 53:38Speaker 1: be detackle and linebacker and some order. I don't particularly
- 53:42Speaker 1: care which order. I'll be fine if it's a receiver
- 53:44Speaker 1: or an edge, because those are valuable positions and it's
- 53:48Speaker 1: never bad to take a premium position. But if I'm picking,
- 53:51Speaker 1: I'd like give me dtackle on linebacker and then move
- 53:54Speaker 1: up to get me the best receiver and edge that
- 53:57Speaker 1: are still falling receiver, edge, safety, like, get me the
- 54:01Speaker 1: best guys still there that we get, you know, hopefully
- 54:05Speaker 1: a fourth or a fifth top one twenty five pick
- 54:08Speaker 1: Like that's I want to use some of that animal
- 54:09Speaker 1: to come and get some of the guys falling there.
- 54:11Speaker 1: So again, whether it's like Tabo here saying CJ. Allen
- 54:15Speaker 1: or you know, I know you and Eric has done
- 54:17Speaker 1: a lot of work on Trotter and or a lot
- 54:20Speaker 1: of people like Jacob Rodriguez or Anthony Hill or there's
- 54:23Speaker 1: you know a lot of guys in that space that
- 54:25Speaker 1: would make a lot of sense here to be a
- 54:26Speaker 1: good fit. Give me one of them, and one of them, Biggins,
- 54:29Speaker 1: give me one of the big ones.
- 54:30Speaker 2: I take that. See Bernard is the other linebacker like
- 54:35Speaker 2: makes Jacob Rodriguez. Jacob Rodriguez, I don't mean this disparaging
- 54:40Speaker 2: lead for me. At least he's a better athlete right
- 54:43Speaker 2: now than he is linebacker. I would like him more
- 54:47Speaker 2: for the Bills if the other linebacker wasn't Torell Bernard.
- 54:51Speaker 2: I think there's too much same, which is again why
- 54:54Speaker 2: I like Trotter. Give me that downhill thumper. I want
- 54:58Speaker 2: the guy who's going to literally run through your face,
- 55:02Speaker 2: who also has a little more agile and athletic than
- 55:04Speaker 2: he gets credit for. But I would like that type
- 55:08Speaker 2: of back. I mean also for me, I included Rvel
- 55:12Speaker 2: Reese in my off ball stuff. I had recent Sonny
- 55:14Speaker 2: styles as my one and two off ball guys. My
- 55:17Speaker 2: linebacker three was Josiah Trotter. I have Trotter ahead of c. J. Allen,
- 55:20Speaker 2: Anthony Hill, and Jacob Rodriguez. I like c. J Allen
- 55:24Speaker 2: and Otavio's point captain of the defense, Like there is
- 55:28Speaker 2: something to be said for a dude who comes in
- 55:30Speaker 2: as a freshman and is already running the Georgia defense,
- 55:32Speaker 2: Like the guy that, like Glenn Schuman and Kirby Smart
- 55:35Speaker 2: gave him the keys to a La Roquan and Kobe Dean.
- 55:39Speaker 2: He just he's high cut, and he's stiff or and
- 55:44Speaker 2: or tight in his hips, and he's kind of top heavy.
- 55:47Speaker 2: That scares me. Like the lack of mobility scares me.
- 55:51Speaker 2: There didn't change a direction. Like he's fine, straight line,
- 55:55Speaker 2: smart as hell. He is the guy to get everybody
- 55:58Speaker 2: else aligned and right. He is that quote, you know,
- 56:01Speaker 2: the prototypical brain trust kind of linebacker green dot. So
- 56:05Speaker 2: I understand, and I think that'll help Alan have a
- 56:07Speaker 2: decently successful career. But that lower body just scares me.
- 56:11Speaker 2: That the how the high cut, and the stiffness and
- 56:14Speaker 2: tightness and the hips, it scares me.
- 56:16Speaker 1: What position do you see Kyle Lewis as in the NFL?
- 56:21Speaker 2: I see him as. I see him as more of
- 56:24Speaker 2: like the overhang apex big nickel type of dude. I
- 56:28Speaker 2: don't think he's a I don't think he's His game
- 56:32Speaker 2: is suited to be like an actual linebacker linebacker, like
- 56:36Speaker 2: an actual off ball guy, because I don't want him
- 56:38Speaker 2: fitting the run like regularly in the A gap or
- 56:42Speaker 2: B gap like I don't want him doing that. I
- 56:43Speaker 2: don't mind him doing that if I'm like I'm running
- 56:45Speaker 2: a blitzer, I'm running some kind of pressure package and
- 56:47Speaker 2: he's going. But I see him as more of you
- 56:49Speaker 2: know those teams who are trying to recreate Nick m
- 56:53Speaker 2: and worry Uh type of deal. I see him as
- 56:55Speaker 2: more of like a big Nickel apex overhang, some guy
- 56:58Speaker 2: who changes the math because he can. He can, you know,
- 57:03Speaker 2: if the motion happens, he can get pulled into the
- 57:05Speaker 2: box and still kind of function. But I see him
- 57:07Speaker 2: as more of a guy operating in space with how
- 57:09Speaker 2: smart and long and athletic he.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Is, or like if you're alternate at Nickel was a
- 57:16Speaker 1: d Alford type, you could have have a Kyle Lewis
- 57:20Speaker 1: and first and second down and d Alford and third down.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know what's interesting too, like even just
- 57:25Speaker 2: that conversation in general, like there is there's nothing keeping
- 57:32Speaker 2: the bills from like just being locked into d Alford,
- 57:37Speaker 2: like no disrespect, Like they can easily go with a
- 57:40Speaker 2: big Nickel type of package if everything kind of falls
- 57:44Speaker 2: the right way, like if they decide like, hey, you
- 57:46Speaker 2: know what, like Kyle Lewis, dude who's like five to eleven,
- 57:49Speaker 2: like two hundred and twenty pounds, like he is that
- 57:52Speaker 2: kind of big Nickel. The range, the athleticism, like let's
- 57:55Speaker 2: kind of take advantage of that, like the athleticism, the
- 57:57Speaker 2: size and frame, like if the board is the right way,
- 58:00Speaker 2: you could do that. I mean, hell, you mentioned a
- 58:03Speaker 2: little bit, although you know CJ. Garner Johnson isn't going
- 58:06Speaker 2: to match up with all the types of guys in
- 58:08Speaker 2: the slot. You could take a manual mc Neil Warren
- 58:11Speaker 2: and then you could platoon that nickel spot between CJ
- 58:14Speaker 2: and Alford depending on who's out there, Like, oh, it's
- 58:17Speaker 2: more of like Zakias who torched Bishop in the preseason
- 58:20Speaker 2: last year. It's that type of guy in the slot.
- 58:22Speaker 2: Let's get d Alford out there. Or if it's a
- 58:24Speaker 2: power slot or a tight end, put CJ in the
- 58:26Speaker 2: slot there, or you could even do that with Bishop
- 58:28Speaker 2: a little bit, or a manual make Neil Warren. So
- 58:30Speaker 2: I think the idea of them getting like a positionless player,
- 58:33Speaker 2: I hate using that because it's so overused. That's really
- 58:36Speaker 2: interesting because we're we're out of the time where it
- 58:39Speaker 2: was like, well they have tarn and their nickel defense,
- 58:42Speaker 2: so they're not going to do anything like that now.
- 58:43Speaker 2: It's no disrespect. It's it's d Alford who they could
- 58:47Speaker 2: easily platoon with or jump in with someone.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I gotta go to bed. So folks appreciate you. Guys.
- 58:55Speaker 1: Chat was awesome here tonight. We will be back here
- 58:57Speaker 1: with you tomorrow night and actually talking about players the
- 59:00Speaker 1: Bills pick. I feel confident that tomorrow night we will
- 59:03Speaker 1: actually have players picked by the Buffalo Bills.
- 59:06Speaker 2: They're going to amass the most fourth round picks in NFL.
- 59:09Speaker 1: History and history in history. My wish tomorrow isn't a
- 59:14Speaker 1: player at thirty five, isn't a player at sixty six.
- 59:17Speaker 1: My wish is that we're talking about three draft picks tomorrow.
- 59:21Speaker 1: That's my wish. I want to be talking about three
- 59:25Speaker 1: players that we picked tomorrow because we moved up from
- 59:28Speaker 1: one twenty five. We moved up from that area to
- 59:31Speaker 1: get us one more in the third round there. So
- 59:34Speaker 1: let's see. As you guys said, Anthony and I are
- 59:37Speaker 1: both hoping for some combination of like a Miller McDonald
- 59:41Speaker 1: plus a Trotter or a Golde or somebody fun there
- 59:44Speaker 1: to fill the needs at dtackle and linebacker. Maybe we
- 59:47Speaker 1: come and get a fun wide receiver, safety or something
- 59:49Speaker 1: cool there so should be a lot more fun. Appreciate
- 59:52Speaker 1: you guys, but on behalf of Anthony Prohaska, I'm Greg Thompson.
- 59:56Speaker 1: You've been listening to the Disguised Coverage cover one Buffalo
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: Bill's Trade Down Special Live Edition cover one Buffalo Sabers
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: postgame Live. We appreciate you guys very very much, but
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: I'll be happy with the whole team. Here. We are
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: out
