- 0:00Hello. I earned the title of 00 Agent. But stuff
- 0:05still happened. So what's up? Hi, I'm back. I'm
- 0:09going to try to do this one standing. We'll see.
- 0:11I'm going to be favoring one leg. I hurt myself.
- 0:13Not intentionally. Did anything happen while
- 0:16I wasn't looking? Fuck. Let's talk about what
- 0:19happens when governments come for you. Wait,
- 0:23let's rework that one. Man, it's been a minute.
- 0:27Easing back in. Western governments love to scare
- 0:30people with stories of faraway governments prosecuting
- 0:34their citizens over bullshit charges to crush
- 0:37opposition. With no irony. Because that happens
- 0:41in Western governments all the time. And here's
- 0:43two high -profile cases in the UK and the US.
- 0:47Actually, three. Uh, I forgot. Another one came
- 0:49up while I was writing this. Over in the uck,
- 0:52we've got the Filton 4. Side note, there is a
- 0:56silver lining of a Western government going after
- 0:58a group of people. You get a cool nickname. At
- 1:01least there's that. In the UK in 2024, a group
- 1:04of activists with Palestine Action raided an
- 1:07Israeli arms manufacturer to destroy weapons.
- 1:10This was about 10 months into the genocide in
- 1:12Gaza, and these activists were like, well, we're
- 1:14going to do direct action. We're going to go
- 1:16destroy the equipment that's being used. To do
- 1:19a genocide, all these activists were hit with
- 1:22pretty significant charges that landed with sentences
- 1:24ranging from around six years to eight years
- 1:27in prison. They were largely charged with criminal
- 1:30damage. One of them was also convicted of grievous
- 1:34bodily harm to an officer, but largely it was
- 1:36material damage to objects and weaponry. So the
- 1:40jury decided to convict, not knowing that the
- 1:43judge intended, if the jury were to convict,
- 1:46to elevate this to include a little sprinkling
- 1:49of terrorism on it. The judge could basically
- 1:51say, cool, we have this conviction, also, this
- 1:54is adjacent to terrorism, and therefore, you
- 1:57are now adjacent to terrorists. The reasoning,
- 1:59in addition to the UK having labeled Palestine
- 2:02Action as a terrorist organization, is because
- 2:04he said that these people were trying to terrorize
- 2:08Israel by destroying their weapons in the UK.
- 2:14Cool. The terrorism designation, it's not really
- 2:17an additional charge, it's just like a flavor
- 2:20of the sentencing. So it means that they can't
- 2:23reduce their sentencing, and for any institutional
- 2:25purposes, they're gonna be considered a terrorist.
- 2:27Like, you want a bank account? Oh, no, we don't
- 2:29work with terrorists. Like, they're in the same
- 2:31group as Al -Qaeda now. So Palestine Action has
- 2:34been labeled as a terrorist organization, again,
- 2:37in the same vein as Hamas and Al -Qaeda, per
- 2:40the UK, and now a recent Court of Appeal actually
- 2:44upheld that. Starmer, the current PM, is very
- 2:47underwater. He has a favorability of negative
- 2:5046 % and even his own party wants him to resign.
- 2:53And this isn't really helping his case. Fun little
- 2:56bonus fact, in the past Starmer actually defended
- 2:59people on very similar charges. So, we love what
- 3:04power does to people. Let's move on to our next
- 3:06group with a cool nickname. We're gonna pick
- 3:08the camera up from England and pan all the way
- 3:10over to Chicago to say hello to the Broadview
- 3:136. The Broadview Six are a group of anti -ICE
- 3:16protesters who were hit with federal conspiracy
- 3:19charges for protesting ICE. This group also included
- 3:22then congressional candidate Kat Abugazale. Here's
- 3:25the history. Back in autumn of 2025, ICE was
- 3:28in Chicago doing Operation Midway Blitz, one
- 3:31of their many operations to go into a relatively
- 3:34blue city with a relatively high population of
- 3:37minority folks so that they can terrorize them
- 3:39and kill them in the streets. So after a few
- 3:41weeks of masked federal agents with military
- 3:43gear disappearing their neighbors off the street,
- 3:47people from Chicago decided that it was time
- 3:48to protest. That's an understatement. They were
- 3:51protesting like immediately. But still. So one
- 3:53day there's a protest outside of ICE's Broadview
- 3:55Processing Facility. There's a whole bunch of
- 3:57protesters and an ICE agent tried to drive a
- 3:59car through the protesters. The protesters were
- 4:02like, fuck you. And they were banging on the
- 4:03car. They keyed it. And the government was like,
- 4:06oh, they inscribed a mean message on the side
- 4:09of the car. Let's throw them all in jail. Weeks
- 4:12pass. Like nothing actually happened then. And
- 4:15suddenly, six people get informed that the FBI
- 4:18has indicted them on federal conspiracy charges.
- 4:21What followed was months of legal battles for
- 4:24these six normal people, just residents of Chicago.
- 4:28hundreds of thousands of dollars of legal bills
- 4:31and going up against federal prosecutors in a
- 4:34bullshit case that you know is bullshit from
- 4:37the start. Oh, you were kind of in the way of
- 4:40a car driven by an ICE agent. We're going to
- 4:44charge you with federal conspiracy. Thankfully,
- 4:47this has recently blown up in the government's
- 4:49face. The judge in this case was reading over
- 4:52the unredacted transcripts of the grand jury,
- 4:54which is the group of people you need to get
- 4:56an indictment. And it was revealing. Here's how
- 4:59it works. You want to indict someone, you're
- 5:01an attorney, you get a grand jury, and you make
- 5:04your case, and you're like, can I indict this
- 5:05person? And they say yes or no. If they say no,
- 5:08you can't do it. But in going over the transcripts
- 5:10from the grand jury, a few interesting things
- 5:13popped up. Let me read you some. This is an exchange
- 5:15between Mecklenburg, who's a U .S. attorney,
- 5:18and one of the grand jurors. Mecklenburg says,
- 5:21are you going to be able to listen with an open
- 5:23mind? Tell me the truth. The juror replied, I...
- 5:26no. To which Mecklenburg said, okay, then you
- 5:30have to go. The juror then chimed in. I heard
- 5:33this case like last week, and I thought it was
- 5:35a crock of shit then, and I still think it is.
- 5:37Scene. How about one more? Just a quote from
- 5:40Mecklenburg. Speaking to the grand jurors, quote,
- 5:56If you can't come to the conclusion that I want
- 5:58you to, then sit this one out. You don't need
- 6:01to be a lawyer to know you can't do that. It's
- 6:03not allowed. It's pretty not allowed. It's also
- 6:06not new. It's not like this is the first time
- 6:07the Trump administration or any administration
- 6:09has done this. This is what the Department of
- 6:12Justice does when they want to silence opposition.
- 6:15That said, it's being done by far more incompetent
- 6:17people now, and so stuff like this is happening.
- 6:19And now, again, as I said, It's blowing up for
- 6:22the government. These transcripts come out, the
- 6:24judge is like, what the fuck, and now they're
- 6:26digging further in to the attorneys and what
- 6:28happened. They're also now having the defendants
- 6:31asked to have their legal bills covered because
- 6:33this was a farce. The defendants are also seeking
- 6:35discovery in DOJ communications about this case,
- 6:38going all the way to the top like the attorney
- 6:40general. Hopefully we'll get some more fun things
- 6:43to read about how incompetent these people are.
- 6:46And we'll use that as the backdrop for our third
- 6:48group that was announced as I was writing this
- 6:51story, the Minneapolis 15th. At least that's
- 6:54what I'm calling them. I don't know if they've
- 6:55got an official name. I'm just kind of giving
- 6:58them that nickname. It's 15 people who were charged
- 7:01in Minneapolis again for protesting ICE. It's
- 7:03a part of Trump's attempt to go after Antifa,
- 7:06which is not an organization. And so they went
- 7:09after 15 people who are associated with a group
- 7:11called Direct Action Minnesota. Essentially,
- 7:14it's a rapid response group. Like it's like a
- 7:16protest group that's like, hey, this is happening
- 7:18in this location. Let's go there and... disrupted.
- 7:21This is all very new. There's not a ton of information
- 7:23out about this right now. But I do want to read
- 7:26you what an argument made by the US government
- 7:29against this group was as to why they're being
- 7:32charged, why these folks are so dangerous. So
- 7:35we'll remember that the US has the best funded
- 7:37military on the planet and currently has a massive
- 7:40domestic occupation force who's walking around
- 7:44unchecked with military equipment. Anyway, the
- 7:48government's upset because this direct action
- 7:50group makes, quote, aggressive use of shields
- 7:53against law enforcement. The only person who
- 7:58could possibly qualify as making aggressive use
- 8:03of shield is Captain America. Anyway, I truly
- 8:08hope that none of you out there have shields
- 8:10because if so, straight to the brig. Let's talk
- 8:13about Iran. I made a very quick video about this
- 8:16earlier in the week, but essentially there is
- 8:18sort of kind of almost a sort of peace deal between
- 8:21the US and Iran that probably won't stick, but
- 8:23maybe. It is a memorandum of understanding. It
- 8:27is the first step towards trying to actually
- 8:29have a peace agreement. It's essentially an outline
- 8:31for the plans for the peace agreement. We don't
- 8:34have a ton of concrete details about it, because
- 8:37for whatever reason, the Trump administration
- 8:38is very uninterested in releasing it until after
- 8:41it's signed. Hello, it's me to edit Endeavorance.
- 8:44As I was editing this, guess what? They made
- 8:48me a liar. They have since signed the thing and
- 8:51released the information, and it's still pretty
- 8:53accurate. What I said here is still pretty accurate,
- 8:56but I'm going to refer to it as having not been
- 8:58signed and whatnot. That is not true. So I'm
- 9:02a liar. And I think we'll get a bit of a clue
- 9:04as to why that is, as we go down the list of
- 9:08what we do know so far. Here's what we know about
- 9:10the plan that's in the memorandum, just based
- 9:13on what has leaked. An immediate ceasefire on
- 9:15all fronts, including Lebanon. The US ends their
- 9:18naval blockade on Hormuz immediately upon signing.
- 9:22Iran demines the strait to allow maritime traffic
- 9:25to return to normal within 30 days of signing.
- 9:27Iran promises it will never make nuclear weapons.
- 9:31Okay. Iran keeps their stockpile of uranium.
- 9:34The U .S. wants them to trim that down, but there's
- 9:37no concrete information there. The U .S. will
- 9:39immediately give crude oil export waivers to
- 9:42Iran. Also, 12 billion of up to 24 billion dollars
- 9:46of frozen assets will be transferred back to
- 9:48Iran, and This is contested, and the information
- 9:52around how it'll be funded is opaque, but there's
- 9:55going to be a 300 billion dollar redevelopment
- 9:57package for Iran. If this sounds like a total
- 10:00capitulation to Iran on behalf of the US, that's
- 10:03because it basically is. There was no way we
- 10:05could win anything in the first place. The pretense
- 10:08for this war was Iran is going to make a nuke
- 10:10and then immediately use it to kill all of us.
- 10:15That wasn't true! And yet we win in, we decapitated
- 10:18their leadership, and then we ruined global oil
- 10:22trade. Like there really isn't something we could
- 10:25do. Like they wanted to go in with the sole purpose
- 10:28of regime change. They wanted to go in guns blazing
- 10:31to help Netanyahu expand the borders of Israel.
- 10:34It's what he's been saying he wants to do forever.
- 10:37He does presentations on the global stage about
- 10:39it. And that can be seen in the fact that Israel
- 10:42has made it clear that they are not interested
- 10:44in this memorandum of understanding. They don't
- 10:46understand. Israel is still bombing Lebanon,
- 10:48and Iran made it clear that as part of the memo,
- 10:51they gotta stop that. Lebanon is considered part
- 10:54of the war front, and all of the fighting has
- 10:56to stop. To which Israel said no. They're not
- 10:58gonna do that. We don't know what's gonna happen.
- 11:00This is supposed to be signed on Friday, and
- 11:03then they'll release the details, but we don't
- 11:05know if it's even gonna be signed, or what'll
- 11:07happen after that. I am hopeful that people will
- 11:10stop being killed by various munitions. That's
- 11:14my main hope. I remain unconvinced that this
- 11:18is the end. That was a lot of, like, geopolitics.
- 11:25Let's talk about Ubisoft. Up front, I'm gonna
- 11:27say Ubisoft. I've always said Ubisoft, but I'm
- 11:30pretty sure it's pronounced Ubisoft. Gonna say
- 11:32Ubisoft. How about I'm gonna call them Ooboobies?
- 11:35The Ooboobies are in the news because they have
- 11:37been closing offices left and right to try to
- 11:40fix their financial situation, which has apparently
- 11:42been in the gutter, despite a recent infusion
- 11:44of 1 .25 billion euros from Tencent. Basically,
- 11:48the Ooboobies are closing offices left and right,
- 11:50and some of those offices are in Canada, and
- 11:53those offices in Canada were established because
- 11:56Ubisoft was given a ton of tax breaks and incentives
- 11:59for it. It is at this point that I would say,
- 12:01hey, Municipalities at large. Stop doing that.
- 12:06Stop offering massive tax incentives to giant
- 12:10international conglomerates in the vain hope
- 12:12that they're going to build a headquarters in
- 12:14your place. This happens all the time. In Halifax,
- 12:18they shut down their office right after the employees
- 12:21had voted to unionize. That was back in January.
- 12:23Just last week, they closed their office in Manitoba
- 12:26after saying that they were going to increase
- 12:28the headcount there. A lot of these corporations
- 12:30will roll up and get courted to build some facility
- 12:33under the guise of making more jobs, but the
- 12:36second that they're like, ah, you know what,
- 12:38our bottom line doesn't really fit your country's
- 12:40needs, they're out of there. Invest in reusable
- 12:44community spaces, not private corporations. That's
- 12:49my recommendation. Because you don't have to
- 12:51look all that far back. Remember Amazon's HQ2?
- 12:54They were like, hey, we're going to build a new
- 12:56headquarters. And a ton of cities fell over themselves
- 12:59trying to give Amazon the best possible deal
- 13:02to come build in their place. Only for Amazon
- 13:05to turn around and cancel like half of their
- 13:07plans while pocketing everything along the way.
- 13:10So again, stop it. Lightning round. Valve's Steam
- 13:15Deck has spiked in pricing due to the hardware
- 13:18shortage caused by AI. Thanks, AI. The lead prosecutor
- 13:23on the case that's trying to go after James Comey,
- 13:25the former FBI director, for posting a picture
- 13:28of seashells on a beach spelling out 8647 has
- 13:33withdrawn from the case. Shocker. After a historic
- 13:37IPO, SpaceX is now valued higher than Amazon,
- 13:41despite having dogshit financials. An Air Force
- 13:45B -52 crashed in California shortly after taking
- 13:48off, killing eight people. And finally for today,
- 13:51Pizza Hut is being sold to private equity for
- 13:55$2 .7 billion. Someone finally outpitted the
- 13:58hut. How could this happen? Thank you so much
- 14:02for listening to today's episode of Stuff Keeps
- 14:04Happening. Head to skh .news for sources, bonus
- 14:07content, and my proposal to build a new Pizza
- 14:11Hut better than before. My name is Endeavor and
- 14:14we'll talk again soon. Take care and be well.
