Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Welcome to the ned Palty.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hi, this is Nick and Astasu, story editor on Star Wars,
- 0:10Speaker 2: The Clone Wars and Star Wars bad Batch, and you
- 0:14Speaker 2: are listening to aggressive negotiations.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Well, hello and welcome from Ferricks. This is aggressive negotiations.
- 0:28Speaker 3: I hope you can hear us over the incessant banging
- 0:31Speaker 3: on metal. I am just one of your hosts here,
- 0:34Speaker 3: Matthew Rushing and with me as he is every single week,
- 0:38Speaker 3: rebellious Jedi Master John.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Mills frankly disappointed that they didn't take the opportunity to
- 0:45Speaker 4: have a tie in song written for and Or that
- 0:48Speaker 4: was a heavy metal song, get it, and it would
- 0:51Speaker 4: start with the metal and the banging. Say, this is
- 0:54Speaker 4: why I need to be in that boardroom with Disney,
- 0:56Speaker 4: because these are the ideas they would get for free.
- 0:59Speaker 4: But as added bonus for everybody that goes over to
- 1:02Speaker 4: Apple Podcasts and leaves us a review, we will continue
- 1:06Speaker 4: giving out these great ideas for free. So head on
- 1:08Speaker 4: over there and give us a review and a star rating.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Well, we've got something really fun for everybody, John, because
- 1:14Speaker 3: we're coming at you live from Ferris. As we place
- 1:20Speaker 3: our bricks on the kiln where we're getting ready for
- 1:23Speaker 3: when we hit the bricks finally one day and well,
- 1:28Speaker 3: we're really excited because and our season two is going
- 1:31Speaker 3: to be coming out. We thought, well, why don't we
- 1:32Speaker 3: go back and talk about and or season one. We've
- 1:37Speaker 3: never actually sat down and really talked through all of
- 1:39Speaker 3: the episodes together, and so what we're going to do.
- 1:42Speaker 3: We're going to actually attack this the xact same way
- 1:45Speaker 3: that the season was released, where they released as a
- 1:48Speaker 3: premiere the first three episodes of Casa, What would be
- 1:51Speaker 3: Me and Reckoning all together as a mini arc to
- 1:56Speaker 3: kick off the series. And so, first, John, I got
- 1:59Speaker 3: to ask you, is we you know, dive into talking
- 2:02Speaker 3: about the series again. Do you think that it was
- 2:07Speaker 3: a wise move of them to release these first three
- 2:11Speaker 3: episodes together, since they truly do, basically in many ways
- 2:15Speaker 3: like those Clone Wars arcs, create an arc of this story.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Yes, and no, I think it was wise of them
- 2:24Speaker 4: to release all three at once. I remember when it
- 2:26Speaker 4: came out, I was unable to watch all three at
- 2:28Speaker 4: one time because I had to go to sleep and
- 2:33Speaker 4: you know, had a lot of obligations the following morning
- 2:36Speaker 4: to worry over and being on the East Coast, which
- 2:40Speaker 4: is the real coast. You know that that would put
- 2:43Speaker 4: it pretty late at night, and hey, hey, hey they
- 2:47Speaker 4: judge when football games are played by my coast. All right,
- 2:50Speaker 4: I don't want to hear it. But the the thing
- 2:55Speaker 4: that I would say was unwise about it was the
- 3:00Speaker 4: three episode arc was apparently better if they had just
- 3:08Speaker 4: released it as a little mini movie, maybe a seventy
- 3:10Speaker 4: minute movie, and approached it not as separate episodes that
- 3:15Speaker 4: played well together. But the way that the Benedict Cumberbatch
- 3:22Speaker 4: Sherlock Home series approached it and said, here are three
- 3:26Speaker 4: nice episodes that are of seventy to ninety minute length.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Enjoy that would have worked for me a bit better
- 3:34Speaker 4: than the three episodes.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I could definitely understand what you're saying. I think,
- 3:43Speaker 3: you know, it's interesting because at that point, you know,
- 3:47Speaker 3: you yourself would almost still run into the same issue
- 3:52Speaker 3: unless you were doing a specific rewatch where it's like
- 3:54Speaker 3: the episode drops and you're like, oh, seventy minutes. I
- 3:57Speaker 3: don't have seventy minutes, so I'm gonna like watch a
- 3:59Speaker 3: you know, are of it, and then I'm gonna go
- 4:01Speaker 3: to bed and then.
- 4:01Speaker 1: You know, so in some ways, it's like.
- 4:06Speaker 3: It's a toss up as to whether or not it
- 4:08Speaker 3: would truly work better, because in some ways, I think, like,
- 4:13Speaker 3: as we're watching it now, right, if you the season
- 4:18Speaker 3: itself is actually split into four different arcs, and they
- 4:24Speaker 3: all consist of of three episodes basically, so if you
- 4:28Speaker 3: watch it in three episode increments, it creates this kind
- 4:32Speaker 3: of like movement of and Or's life, and so in
- 4:38Speaker 3: many ways I could see what you're saying, and at
- 4:43Speaker 3: the same time, it's like, yeah, I don't know if
- 4:47Speaker 3: it necessarily would have made too much of a difference
- 4:49Speaker 3: for many people, except maybe in like a rewatch where
- 4:52Speaker 3: they're you know, they know what's coming and they can
- 4:56Speaker 3: prepare then to sit down and watch seventy minutes or
- 4:59Speaker 3: eighty minutes together.
- 5:01Speaker 4: My counterpoint would be, even if you go as high
- 5:03Speaker 4: as ninety minutes, if instead of being precious about it
- 5:06Speaker 4: and stretching out the content to episodes that you later
- 5:11Speaker 4: construct as a weekly release sort of thing, if you
- 5:15Speaker 4: embrace that mini movie approach, then you release it not
- 5:21Speaker 4: on a Tuesday or a Wednesday for whatever bizarre reason
- 5:25Speaker 4: they rationalize releasing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Make it a
- 5:28Speaker 4: Friday night movie event like seriously. That's why they would
- 5:31Speaker 4: have Yeah, you know, the NBC would have have movies
- 5:34Speaker 4: on on Saturday nights or Sunday nights. Is because you know,
- 5:39Speaker 4: it's the weekend. I'm willing to watch things and just
- 5:41Speaker 4: embrace it and just say, hey, I hear you. Here's
- 5:44Speaker 4: a little mini movie for you. Then you release it
- 5:47Speaker 4: on a Friday or Saturday night. In the streaming era, Yeah, man,
- 5:50Speaker 4: everybod's gonna hang out and watch it.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Well, and.
- 5:55Speaker 3: To your point, you know, one of the things that
- 6:00Speaker 3: this show I think still stands up. And I have
- 6:04Speaker 3: the four K discs, so I was watching these episodes
- 6:06Speaker 3: on that, and it'll be my first time to actually
- 6:09Speaker 3: go through the whole series on the discs. And I
- 6:13Speaker 3: mean one of the benefits of this show is that
- 6:17Speaker 3: it looks as good as any Star Wars movie. I mean,
- 6:20Speaker 3: when you think about the quality that you're getting in
- 6:24Speaker 3: the production value, if you were to release say in
- 6:28Speaker 3: you know, seventy to ninety minute increments it, I mean,
- 6:33Speaker 3: the show does feel at a level of a Star
- 6:37Speaker 3: Wars film that you would get on screen. So I
- 6:39Speaker 3: mean that I think is also a selling point for
- 6:44Speaker 3: what you're saying in that type of release order.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I think the one thing and that I'll just
- 6:50Speaker 4: I'm gonna hug the cactus here. I know the territory
- 6:54Speaker 4: I'm getting into. I think that the plus side for
- 6:59Speaker 4: them releasing it as three episodes is I think that
- 7:03Speaker 4: because of those breaks, where even though they release them
- 7:06Speaker 4: in a batch, I can watch two, I'm tired, I'm
- 7:08Speaker 4: going to go to bed, I'll watch the third one later,
- 7:11Speaker 4: or somebody that says, you know what, I don't care
- 7:13Speaker 4: that you released all three at once. I'm going to
- 7:15Speaker 4: watch one a night, and I'll just do it that way.
- 7:18Speaker 4: I think that some of the pacing challenges that they
- 7:25Speaker 4: have in this arc are abrogated by the breaks, these
- 7:32Speaker 4: built in intermissions that they have. I think that had
- 7:36Speaker 4: they released it all like I'm advocating as like a little,
- 7:39Speaker 4: you know, eighty or ninety minute movie, some of the
- 7:42Speaker 4: pacing issues become a little more apparent in how they're
- 7:46Speaker 4: approaching the material. And that's even in this rewatch. That
- 7:50Speaker 4: remains one of my biggest challenges with this first arc
- 7:56Speaker 4: of Andor Is. It takes a bit to get where
- 8:01Speaker 4: it's going, and it's fine to do that. I'm very
- 8:05Speaker 4: much a fan of taking your time to tell a story.
- 8:08Speaker 4: I don't mind it. However, when it's something where I'm
- 8:15Speaker 4: watching something and I think to myself, well, you know,
- 8:18Speaker 4: you could have cut yeah, ten seconds here and just
- 8:23Speaker 4: got into it quicker, it lingers a little bit in places.
- 8:26Speaker 4: And I think that releasing it as three episodes, people
- 8:29Speaker 4: are more forgiving of that lingering.
- 8:31Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm gonna throw a challenge flag for you
- 8:34Speaker 3: here because what you said about Jackie Brown and loving
- 8:38Speaker 3: the way in which that allows you to just kind
- 8:41Speaker 3: of sit in moments and and the story with the
- 8:45Speaker 3: characters and allow all this to kind of bubble up.
- 8:50Speaker 3: To me, that's the strength of this series is that
- 8:55Speaker 3: that's what it's doing. It's not rushing the story. It's
- 9:00Speaker 3: allowing you to actually spend the time with the characters.
- 9:03Speaker 3: And I think these first three episodes are a perfect
- 9:05Speaker 3: example of that in the sense that the way in
- 9:11Speaker 3: which you are able to kind of spend this extended
- 9:15Speaker 3: time specifically with and Or, So the tension slowly rises
- 9:20Speaker 3: and it keeps getting more and more intense for him,
- 9:24Speaker 3: with this sense of I've got to get out of
- 9:26Speaker 3: here because of what happened and this confrontation, you know,
- 9:31Speaker 3: with the security agents, and you know, and in all
- 9:34Speaker 3: honesty accidentally killing one of them and then shooting the
- 9:38Speaker 3: other guy because he's trying to get away. It's like
- 9:41Speaker 3: that ratcheting of the tension, and it's like the slow
- 9:46Speaker 3: burn nature of that is I think, actually, what in
- 9:50Speaker 3: many ways, again, I throw the challenge flag for you,
- 9:53Speaker 3: And that's exactly what you kind of loved about something
- 9:56Speaker 3: like Jackie Brown, where you're really drawing out the moment
- 10:00Speaker 3: and you're allowing these things to sit. And what I
- 10:03Speaker 3: think it also does is it also allows us to
- 10:08Speaker 3: because because of the place, Feryx is going to be
- 10:14Speaker 3: important for the rest of the series. At the end,
- 10:17Speaker 3: it's like, if we don't kind of draw out some
- 10:19Speaker 3: of these moments in this place, we don't get a
- 10:23Speaker 3: real sense of where we are and why this place
- 10:26Speaker 3: is important to and Or and the other characters that
- 10:31Speaker 3: are going to be important throughout the rest of the show.
- 10:34Speaker 3: So I would just say, it's like, that's where this
- 10:37Speaker 3: is kind of I think going for me.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Yeah, And the thing is, I'm going to have two
- 10:46Speaker 4: reposts to you here. First and foremost, Matt, thank you
- 10:50Speaker 4: so much for bringing up the discussion of Jackie Brown
- 10:52Speaker 4: that was had on House Lights, which is here on
- 10:54Speaker 4: the Nerd Party. Hey, as we do it examine the
- 10:57Speaker 4: works of Quentin Tarantino. I love Jackie Brown. You're right,
- 11:00Speaker 4: it's a hangout movie, and I love that. My counterpoint
- 11:05Speaker 4: here is you're presuming that it's the Farex parts where
- 11:08Speaker 4: I think they linger too long. That is a presumption
- 11:12Speaker 4: on your part. That's not where I have my biggest
- 11:14Speaker 4: problems with the lingering. I think that there are other
- 11:17Speaker 4: parts where it lingers and it can I'm not saying
- 11:22Speaker 4: that the Ferrix sequence where the Blue Suits are going
- 11:26Speaker 4: after them couldn't have been tightened and given a little
- 11:30Speaker 4: bit more pep. It's there are other parts of this
- 11:34Speaker 4: three episode arc that I think that some of some
- 11:40Speaker 4: of the inter cutting that's done with flashing back to
- 11:43Speaker 4: his childhood doesn't work as well. It's a it causes
- 11:48Speaker 4: a bit of a pacing issue there, and I think
- 11:53Speaker 4: that I know what they're trying to do. It just
- 11:56Speaker 4: doesn't assemble the way that I think they want it
- 11:58Speaker 4: to in terms of when they're overlaying when he's look
- 12:03Speaker 4: essentially kidnapped from his home world. Regardless of how noble
- 12:08Speaker 4: The reasoning is he was kidnapped from his home world
- 12:14Speaker 4: and overlaying that with him leaving Feryx and he's there again,
- 12:19Speaker 4: you know, new adventures and everything. I get what they're
- 12:21Speaker 4: going for. It doesn't gel particularly well when they're on
- 12:26Speaker 4: the planet with the flashback. Those are a lot of
- 12:29Speaker 4: the lingering moments where I'm sitting there and we could
- 12:32Speaker 4: get to the act, like we know where we're going,
- 12:36Speaker 4: so it's okay to maybe drop a couple of shots
- 12:40Speaker 4: here and there as we're going through. I think that
- 12:43Speaker 4: some of the conversational stuff can be shortened. I'm not
- 12:47Speaker 4: ragging on it. I'm saying pacing is a challenge in
- 12:50Speaker 4: these first three episodes. I think it could have been tighter.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that's definitely. I mean, like Rogue one,
- 13:00Speaker 3: you know you're wrong, and it's fine.
- 13:02Speaker 4: I knew, I knew. See. The thing is, I knew
- 13:04Speaker 4: this was going to happen. I knew this was gonna happen.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Apparently anything with and Or we're going to disagree about.
- 13:11Speaker 4: And so I love I listen, I I I love
- 13:16Speaker 4: Diego Luna. I think that he's born for this role,
- 13:19Speaker 4: and I love that he's embraced it. Scars Guard is magnificent.
- 13:25Speaker 4: He's just phenomenal in this role. Yeah, but listen, he's
- 13:29Speaker 4: a cheat code. You put the guy in just about
- 13:31Speaker 4: anything except in Exorcist prequel and it's just great or
- 13:34Speaker 4: a large Van Trier movie. Avoid that one at all costs.
- 13:37Speaker 4: But I think that, I mean, you don't you don't
- 13:43Speaker 4: see any issues with these this first three episode arc
- 13:45Speaker 4: like this is it, this is a this is solid.
- 13:49Speaker 3: This is those things where okay, this this this, there
- 13:57Speaker 3: are those things to win which you know, you watch
- 14:02Speaker 3: and you just immediately plug into, right, and so you know,
- 14:08Speaker 3: as I've recounted many times in this show, for me,
- 14:12Speaker 3: the Clone Wars movie was one of those things. Now, look,
- 14:17Speaker 3: I know a lot of people don't like the Clone
- 14:19Speaker 3: Wars movie, and and even though they like the Clone Wars,
- 14:23Speaker 3: it's it's it's one of their maybe least favorite things
- 14:26Speaker 3: about the Clone Wars. From the moment I saw it,
- 14:29Speaker 3: I plugged into it, and I just really liked it.
- 14:32Speaker 3: And I and you know, for me, the Mandalorian was
- 14:38Speaker 3: the same way. You know, that first episode completely grabbed me.
- 14:41Speaker 3: It was you know, so and or is that way,
- 14:44Speaker 3: And every time I watched it, I think the thing
- 14:49Speaker 3: that I come to is that, and I've talked to
- 14:54Speaker 3: our friend Nick about this too. It's just like I
- 14:58Speaker 3: am loving what they're doing, and I'm loving being with
- 15:03Speaker 3: these characters. I'm loving being in this world. I'm loving
- 15:06Speaker 3: the way we're exploring all facets, you know, and and
- 15:13Speaker 3: so you know, you bringing up his life as a child, right.
- 15:19Speaker 3: And one of the things that I just absolutely love
- 15:21Speaker 3: about spending that much time there is the way in
- 15:25Speaker 3: which I was just blown away by the corruption of
- 15:28Speaker 3: the republic that they're strip minding these planet so much
- 15:33Speaker 3: so that the implication is these kids have lost their parents,
- 15:37Speaker 3: oh yeah, and nobody cares, you know, and so like
- 15:40Speaker 3: so like again it and it and it's just it's
- 15:42Speaker 3: one of those things where it's like nobody says that
- 15:44Speaker 3: on screen because I can't understand what these kids are saying,
- 15:48Speaker 3: but they're making me as a viewer have to be,
- 15:51Speaker 3: you know, come into this and like pick up what
- 15:54Speaker 3: they're laying down without somebody on the side being like,
- 15:57Speaker 3: this is what's happening, you know. And so much television
- 16:01Speaker 3: just isn't done like that anymore. And so again, and
- 16:04Speaker 3: I know you're not saying that that's not something you
- 16:06Speaker 3: like or any of that. But I'm just explaining, is
- 16:10Speaker 3: the show kind of pulls me in from the very beginning,
- 16:13Speaker 3: from the very first shot, which is so incredibly done.
- 16:16Speaker 3: It's so artistic, so beautiful, you know, the going by
- 16:19Speaker 3: the lights, and then we pan down from that moment on,
- 16:22Speaker 3: I like I was in and so I have never
- 16:27Speaker 3: experienced that thing which you have where it's like you're
- 16:30Speaker 3: watching it and you're like, oh, I can cut this
- 16:32Speaker 3: and whatever. It's like, I'm just so who immediately and
- 16:35Speaker 3: the very.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Yet very you know, the very opening where he's walking,
- 16:39Speaker 4: you know, and you see the lights, the funky street
- 16:43Speaker 4: lights and that scene and that vibe. No, I thought
- 16:47Speaker 4: that was a great grabber. I agree with you, that
- 16:50Speaker 4: was a great grabber. I'm just saying that there is
- 16:54Speaker 4: enough in this three episode arc where it's like it
- 16:56Speaker 4: grabs me there and then it loses momentum strangely. And
- 17:01Speaker 4: that's what I struggle with is I'm like, oh my gosh,
- 17:04Speaker 4: look at this momentum. Oh geez, he just murdered somebody
- 17:07Speaker 4: in cold blood. E. This is not going to be okay.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Let's get back to that thing that I like, sort
- 17:14Speaker 4: of vibe to it. And again you're right, I'm not
- 17:19Speaker 4: saying don't show me his youth and don't show me
- 17:23Speaker 4: what's going on there, because if there is a message
- 17:26Speaker 4: to Star Wars above and beyond the good and the
- 17:29Speaker 4: evil and living your life is a good person sort
- 17:31Speaker 4: of thing, it's that government sucks and it just throws
- 17:34Speaker 4: on a different cloak every so often, like that is
- 17:38Speaker 4: part of the DNA of Star Wars. Is any any
- 17:42Speaker 4: giant bureaucracy is a monolithic monster to be feared because
- 17:47Speaker 4: it cannot be it cannot have its hunger slaked by anything.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Yeah, No, And I mean in that, I mean that's
- 17:57Speaker 3: the thing I think we both completely agree on. It's
- 18:00Speaker 3: just like the way in which this show builds that
- 18:03Speaker 3: by showing it to you, I think is really incredibly done.
- 18:09Speaker 3: You know, the fact that by by allowing us to
- 18:16Speaker 3: see Ferris as this place to which you know, you
- 18:21Speaker 3: don't have really any true oversight yet by the empire,
- 18:26Speaker 3: and because that oversight really isn't a part of Ferris's
- 18:30Speaker 3: life now, but these actions that are being taken by
- 18:35Speaker 3: and or actually are the thing that's going to make
- 18:38Speaker 3: that happen, is incredibly fascinating to me because this also
- 18:43Speaker 3: is the impetus for the Empire to stop doing the
- 18:47Speaker 3: thing that it's doing right now at this point, which
- 18:49Speaker 3: is still utilizing these massive corporations and their security forces
- 18:55Speaker 3: is their first line of defense. You know, that's that's
- 18:59Speaker 3: still something as a holdover in some ways for those corporations,
- 19:03Speaker 3: which you know, they come back into the fold after
- 19:07Speaker 3: the Clone Wars and some of them become trusted enough
- 19:13Speaker 3: by the Empire to be utilized as a quasi military
- 19:21Speaker 3: force so that the Empire doesn't have to worry about
- 19:23Speaker 3: the sessions. But again, the actions of and Or this
- 19:27Speaker 3: one character are going to lead to that downfall for
- 19:30Speaker 3: this whole system, to where by the time you get
- 19:34Speaker 3: to episode four, the imperial grip is as strong as
- 19:42Speaker 3: it's ever going to be because there will be no
- 19:44Speaker 3: more Senate, there will be no more of these corporations.
- 19:47Speaker 3: It's just going to be the Empire and the Emperor overall.
- 19:51Speaker 3: And it's like that's you know, as Star Wars has.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Been telling us this story for so many years.
- 20:01Speaker 3: The catalyst of the actions of one person can change
- 20:06Speaker 3: the course of the future, and so it's interesting to
- 20:11Speaker 3: watch and Or do that in this way, and then
- 20:16Speaker 3: you know the whole season is going to be about
- 20:18Speaker 3: this character becoming somebody who is molded into the revolutionary.
- 20:26Speaker 1: That we see.
- 20:29Speaker 3: By the time we get to Rogue one. And and
- 20:31Speaker 3: that's an incredibly fascinating story because as you mentioned, you know,
- 20:35Speaker 3: Diego Luna was so good in that movie. Here he
- 20:40Speaker 3: really just gets an opportunity to shine by being a
- 20:42Speaker 3: guy that's like, he's not really all that likable. Especially
- 20:45Speaker 3: in these first three episodes, he's kind of just a
- 20:47Speaker 3: big turn to everybody in his life.
- 20:51Speaker 4: I I think that what I'm saying is I know
- 20:58Speaker 4: the journey that he's essentially going to take. The pacing
- 21:02Speaker 4: issues with these first three episodes make it tough to
- 21:06Speaker 4: get that sense of momentum by the end, because the
- 21:10Speaker 4: end of the third episode is really well done. It's
- 21:14Speaker 4: really well done the way a lot of shows are.
- 21:16Speaker 4: It's sort of the what I would call the Lost effect.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Lost would do it at the end of every hour,
- 21:21Speaker 4: where there'd be this little two minute music piece, no dialogue,
- 21:26Speaker 4: and just showing people at the end and where they're headed,
- 21:30Speaker 4: you know, where they're looking, and that sort of thing.
- 21:32Speaker 4: I think that the greatness of the ending is again
- 21:37Speaker 4: getting back to Scarsguard and the way that they handle
- 21:40Speaker 4: the energy of that confrontation. I think that maybe what
- 21:45Speaker 4: jumps out at me is what I'm left wondering at
- 21:49Speaker 4: the end of this is his motivation in the first
- 21:53Speaker 4: scene I meet him, is looking for his sister, and
- 21:56Speaker 4: then this box gets brought into it, and then we
- 21:59Speaker 4: have this pseudo corporate sector guy who is going to
- 22:04Speaker 4: be pursuing him, you know, mister tight uniform. And if
- 22:10Speaker 4: you're gonna have a three episode arc, I would have
- 22:14Speaker 4: liked to see a little bit more of that direction
- 22:19Speaker 4: clear through the end of the third episode is where
- 22:22Speaker 4: I expect to be at the end of a first episode,
- 22:25Speaker 4: as opposed to the end of a third episode. I
- 22:29Speaker 4: think that's where they get themselves into a little bit
- 22:31Speaker 4: of trouble. Is they treat this arc as if they
- 22:34Speaker 4: were writing a movie, which is a good thing if
- 22:37Speaker 4: you're releasing a movie. But the purpose of a pilot,
- 22:41Speaker 4: of a first hour of a of a you know,
- 22:44Speaker 4: or first thirty minutes or whatever, the purpose of that
- 22:46Speaker 4: first bit of show is to define those characters and
- 22:49Speaker 4: point you in the direction. I don't get that really
- 22:52Speaker 4: until the end of the third episode. And it's like
- 22:55Speaker 4: that's really the thing. I know, I keep harping on,
- 22:57Speaker 4: but like that's that's why I think it has so
- 23:00Speaker 4: much trouble, sort of like catching on with me is
- 23:04Speaker 4: I'm looking for that earlier or at least at a
- 23:10Speaker 4: more cohesive presentation.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Yeah, And I I just think that you're wrong in that,
- 23:21Speaker 3: Like and I you know, I'm in the sense of
- 23:25Speaker 3: like I don't get that, you know, because I think
- 23:29Speaker 3: one of the things and you were just mentioning it's like,
- 23:31Speaker 3: you know, to take the risk.
- 23:32Speaker 4: And be.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Don't just treat this like any other TV show, you know,
- 23:41Speaker 3: do it your own way. And I think that's kind
- 23:42Speaker 3: of what they're doing in the sense that they are
- 23:44Speaker 3: treating this this is clearly a long form story, and
- 23:49Speaker 3: they're treating it as such. And yet the show itself
- 23:54Speaker 3: is broken into very specific feeling art in the sense
- 24:01Speaker 3: of there are four specific feeling arcs, and those are
- 24:04Speaker 3: made up of three episodes.
- 24:05Speaker 1: And so.
- 24:07Speaker 3: And again it feels, you know, it's it's very similar
- 24:10Speaker 3: to me of the way in which The Clone Wars
- 24:12Speaker 3: would do that, where you'd have the three episode arcs
- 24:15Speaker 3: where it's like, you know, one episode leads into the
- 24:18Speaker 3: next episode, which is the next episode. It's like you
- 24:20Speaker 3: need to watch all three or four to really get
- 24:23Speaker 3: the full story and really feel the resolution and so
- 24:29Speaker 3: but but.
- 24:29Speaker 4: That, but that's that's where all jiu jitsu you here
- 24:32Speaker 4: just a little bit and say that. Now as I
- 24:36Speaker 4: go through and I'm doing that Clone Wars rewatch with
- 24:38Speaker 4: my youngest, it's a rewatch for me. It's a first
- 24:41Speaker 4: watch for her. The first season. You know, I'm a
- 24:46Speaker 4: big fan of release order and everything. We literally started
- 24:49Speaker 4: with the last episode of the first season and then
- 24:51Speaker 4: jumped over to another one, and then we did like
- 24:53Speaker 4: part one of a two part arc because that show, Oh,
- 25:00Speaker 4: while you're right there, you know, the storm over ryle
- 25:04Speaker 4: Off starts off. You know, you have that three episode
- 25:08Speaker 4: Ryloth arc in the first season, but the end of
- 25:12Speaker 4: each episode, I can watch it on its own walk off.
- 25:17Speaker 4: I'm saying that. I get what you're saying. I'm saying that,
- 25:20Speaker 4: and or I can't watch one of these episodes and
- 25:22Speaker 4: walk off, I have to watch the whole arc. And
- 25:26Speaker 4: that's the sort of cheat that I'm talking about.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and I don't.
- 25:30Speaker 3: I mean again, I think what I'm and I guess
- 25:33Speaker 3: I'm challenging you is is that you're there that's on purpose,
- 25:38Speaker 3: though it's not as though they're they're they're not like
- 25:42Speaker 3: that's the the thing that they're they're doing in this season,
- 25:46Speaker 3: in this series. In fact, you know, we know in
- 25:48Speaker 3: season two that you're gonna jump years every three episodes.
- 25:54Speaker 3: And so it's like, again that the conceit is in
- 25:57Speaker 3: this show is there's there's there's a and a.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I know of and and so again, I.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Like, I get that you're frustrated by it, but it's like,
- 26:07Speaker 3: I think you're frustrated by it because you want it
- 26:10Speaker 3: to do what you wanted to do instead of just
- 26:11Speaker 3: letting it speak for itself.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Oh, don't you dare? Don't you dare? That's not at all.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Don't you dare do that? No, No, I'm not going
- 26:18Speaker 4: to let you walk away on that. That's a cheap
- 26:20Speaker 4: shot just saying no.
- 26:22Speaker 3: No, I'm asking the question, are you not not being
- 26:25Speaker 3: open minded enough to allow it to be what it
- 26:28Speaker 3: wants to be instead of what I think it should be?
- 26:31Speaker 1: Because you're that's what.
- 26:32Speaker 4: You closed mindedness to different types of storytelling. It's definitely
- 26:37Speaker 4: that's my calling card. Actually, I have it on a
- 26:39Speaker 4: business card negotiations. I haven't everybody, no, I no, I
- 26:42Speaker 4: knew exactly this is where this is going to go,
- 26:44Speaker 4: because whether it's rogueing or whether it's a and or
- 26:47Speaker 4: I was like, oh boy, this is like holy writ
- 26:49Speaker 4: there's no way and like he's going to see my
- 26:51Speaker 4: point of view on this. But there are arcs later
- 26:56Speaker 4: in the season that work better because the way that
- 27:02Speaker 4: the individual episodes are chunked out are better suited to
- 27:08Speaker 4: this and the way that they cut the episodes up.
- 27:11Speaker 4: So that's what I'm specifically saying. When we go to
- 27:14Speaker 4: another three episode arc, there's one in specific I'm thinking of,
- 27:18Speaker 4: and you get to that one, I'll be like, that's
- 27:20Speaker 4: the way you do it. That is the way that
- 27:22Speaker 4: you're It's a three episode arc. But at the end
- 27:26Speaker 4: of every episode, I feel like I've gone on its
- 27:28Speaker 4: own mini arc and I'm satisfied. I'm like one and done.
- 27:31Speaker 4: I think that releasing all three at once as the
- 27:35Speaker 4: premiere was their own admission that they knew that if
- 27:38Speaker 4: they released only one of these or only two of these,
- 27:41Speaker 4: the audience would not have responded as well as they
- 27:46Speaker 4: were hoping.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Well, my argument would be that's not the reason they're
- 27:53Speaker 3: doing it. They just know that the three episodes go together.
- 27:57Speaker 3: And therefore it's again you're saying that it's it's like
- 28:03Speaker 3: we're admitting that this doesn't work. What I'm saying is
- 28:06Speaker 3: that the episodes are meant to work as the three,
- 28:10Speaker 3: and so.
- 28:12Speaker 4: I'm saying I'm saying they're too reliant on each other,
- 28:16Speaker 4: which you know what, again, let's go let's go to mind. No,
- 28:20Speaker 4: let's go to let's go to Skeleton Crew. They released
- 28:23Speaker 4: the first two episodes in the one night, right, you
- 28:26Speaker 4: could make a very strong argument that the first three
- 28:28Speaker 4: episodes really are the ones that work together as the
- 28:31Speaker 4: first arc there. But I was not at all annoyed
- 28:34Speaker 4: by the two episodes coming out. I wouldn't have been
- 28:36Speaker 4: annoyed by the one episode because where they cut it
- 28:39Speaker 4: and the way they put it together worked. Uh.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I will disagree with you there in the sense
- 28:46Speaker 3: that I think Skeleton Free did need those two episodes together.
- 28:50Speaker 1: And I think they they worked.
- 28:53Speaker 3: I think they worked better by because it really to
- 28:57Speaker 3: me that that series it, those two episodes together gave
- 29:01Speaker 3: me a much better sense of the show itself than
- 29:04Speaker 3: just the one episode did.
- 29:06Speaker 1: And so that's where but.
- 29:08Speaker 4: See I was. I was completely surprised and delighted and
- 29:11Speaker 4: like if I had watched Actually, I think I did
- 29:13Speaker 4: just watch the first episode the first the first night
- 29:16Speaker 4: that I watched it, and I was like sold immediately,
- 29:20Speaker 4: even though I knew it wasn't complete, and I'm saying
- 29:24Speaker 4: whatever alchemy was was, it played.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Like we're having a misunderstanding.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I think we both know where each other is coming
- 29:29Speaker 3: from in this, we just we don't feel the same
- 29:33Speaker 3: about it.
- 29:33Speaker 4: Tut In just a few moments ago, you said you
- 29:36Speaker 4: didn't understand where I was coming from. That's why I
- 29:37Speaker 4: keep trying to explain it.
- 29:39Speaker 1: No, I understand where you're coming from.
- 29:40Speaker 3: I just don't understand how you can't overcome your inability.
- 29:45Speaker 1: To get over this issue.
- 29:47Speaker 3: That's not really an issue, but you're making an issue
- 29:49Speaker 3: because you just don't understand it.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Look at the very least, at the very least, I
- 29:55Speaker 4: really like and Or's gun. I think that's very cool.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Well that's a great I So I think you bringing
- 30:03Speaker 3: that up is a perfect place for us to kind
- 30:05Speaker 3: of dive into because.
- 30:08Speaker 1: The the even even.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Even Mandalorian, no other show looks like this in Star Wars,
- 30:19Speaker 3: like just the attention to every little detail in the
- 30:23Speaker 3: show is pretty astounding. And and that's the thing where,
- 30:30Speaker 3: like you just mentioned his gun, it's like, man, that's
- 30:33Speaker 3: a that's an incredible piece of design work that feels
- 30:37Speaker 3: so incredibly iconic for Star Wars, feels so understandable as
- 30:42Speaker 3: an idea, and feels so classic within the series, but
- 30:47Speaker 3: it's never brought attention to, like it just like everything
- 30:51Speaker 3: in the in the in the universe just feels real.
- 30:55Speaker 3: And and I think that's the other part of it
- 30:56Speaker 3: is that that production value.
- 31:00Speaker 1: There's never a moment where.
- 31:03Speaker 3: I'm brought out because there's an inconsistency. There's a consistency
- 31:08Speaker 3: to the work here that they're putting in from every
- 31:11Speaker 3: point of the production, which makes this a seamless experience. Then,
- 31:17Speaker 3: and you know, we've said many times when we talk
- 31:20Speaker 3: about the six or two club, right when you're watching
- 31:22Speaker 3: a film, as long as everything feels consistent, even if
- 31:27Speaker 3: it's not the best, it still feels better than that
- 31:31Speaker 3: moment where you have that that looked really great and
- 31:34Speaker 3: then that next moment was like what.
- 31:38Speaker 4: Well, it's sort of I think that a lot of
- 31:40Speaker 4: the set pieces, a lot of the a lot of
- 31:47Speaker 4: the set decoration, a lot of the production design very
- 31:51Speaker 4: authentic vibe. Obviously, it helps when you go and you
- 31:54Speaker 4: find like actual structures that exist and shoot around them
- 31:57Speaker 4: and in them and be built.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Like a whole city that people can walk around.
- 32:03Speaker 4: But there is the only thing that it creates is
- 32:08Speaker 4: in those moments where it does use the volume to
- 32:12Speaker 4: cheat out a landscape. Is it like you can really
- 32:18Speaker 4: tell it's two different media. Like the argument for always
- 32:23Speaker 4: using the volume quote unquote, and I'm not saying they
- 32:25Speaker 4: should have here, but like the argument for it is
- 32:28Speaker 4: it's at least a consistent look regardless, like and eventually
- 32:31Speaker 4: your eye and your brains sort of like, okay, this
- 32:33Speaker 4: is just how it looks. I'm just gonna ignore whether
- 32:36Speaker 4: there's flatness to the screen or something like that going on.
- 32:39Speaker 4: There are certain moments where you know you're in real environment,
- 32:45Speaker 4: real environment, real environment, and then like when Scars Guard
- 32:48Speaker 4: is walking and it's like it's obviously like a digital
- 32:51Speaker 4: matte painting sort of or screen or whatever, and you're
- 32:54Speaker 4: just kind of like, oh okay, I can tell, let's
- 32:56Speaker 4: you know, like those are the jarring moments unfortunately, where
- 32:59Speaker 4: you're like, eh, oh okay, all right, I'm not again,
- 33:02Speaker 4: I'm not dragging the show. It's an inevitable thing. It
- 33:04Speaker 4: always happens, it doesn't matter what production it is. But
- 33:10Speaker 4: I'd call more attention to the fact that they were
- 33:15Speaker 4: very wise in having the production design pay attention to
- 33:20Speaker 4: the prequel and original trilogy era, because the ships that
- 33:25Speaker 4: we see, you know, I fixate on chips, the ships
- 33:31Speaker 4: that we see, I'm like, that looks that's right, You're
- 33:34Speaker 4: in the correct lane here. Everything is the proper Everything,
- 33:39Speaker 4: the way that it looks, the way that it feels,
- 33:40Speaker 4: the weight to everything is appropriate.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean because you're right on target there again,
- 33:49Speaker 3: Like you know, you mentioned and Or's blaster, and then
- 33:52Speaker 3: you have Luthan's Fondor and I can't remember the exact designation,
- 33:59Speaker 3: but his ship, and it's like that just feels so
- 34:05Speaker 3: incredibly Star Wars and yet at the same time it's
- 34:08Speaker 3: like nothing we've ever seen and becomes one of the
- 34:11Speaker 3: coolest ships you've ever seen, and you're like, I just
- 34:14Speaker 3: want that in some form, whether it's in Lego or
- 34:18Speaker 3: it's like, you know, it's just like but you're right.
- 34:22Speaker 3: I mean, it's the design sensibility of truly thinking through
- 34:28Speaker 3: the era we're in and all of that type of
- 34:31Speaker 3: stuff to where it just it plugs in perfectly.
- 34:36Speaker 4: And here's where I get into more trouble because, just
- 34:39Speaker 4: to piggyback on what you're saying about, you know, it
- 34:42Speaker 4: looks like it fits in. It looks like something I've
- 34:45Speaker 4: seen before, but it's not the same. There's also a
- 34:51Speaker 4: a appropriate attention to space and place within the ship
- 34:57Speaker 4: structures that There's another show that came out not too
- 35:00Speaker 4: long ago where the interior of the ship was like
- 35:04Speaker 4: the Tartists, where I was like that that seems really
- 35:07Speaker 4: way larger inside than the outside. Looks like I don't
- 35:11Speaker 4: know where I am in the ship right now, I
- 35:12Speaker 4: don't know what's going on. Whereas with Luthen's ship, it
- 35:15Speaker 4: gets in and I'm like, I still have a sense
- 35:17Speaker 4: of Okay, I remember the outside of this ship. I
- 35:20Speaker 4: know where I am walking around right now. Yes, I
- 35:23Speaker 4: know the interior of the Millennium Falcon doesn't line up,
- 35:26Speaker 4: but I'm talking about you know, you don't notice that
- 35:31Speaker 4: first and foremost when you're watching Star Wars less than
- 35:35Speaker 4: five billion times. But additionally, luthen Ship feels like the
- 35:43Speaker 4: interior matches what I see on the outside in terms
- 35:46Speaker 4: of space and place within. I think that the one
- 35:56Speaker 4: thing that I would come out of this three episode
- 35:59Speaker 4: arc with that I'm intrigued to see if it's something
- 36:03Speaker 4: I just forget about or not, is the thread with
- 36:07Speaker 4: his sister in that opening scene where he's looking for her.
- 36:13Speaker 4: No spoilers, this is my first rewatch. I don't remember
- 36:17Speaker 4: that ever being addressed again, and I am hoping it
- 36:21Speaker 4: is because I would hate for that to be the
- 36:24Speaker 4: dangling thing that annoys me where I keep wondering why
- 36:31Speaker 4: they didn't use Chekhov's gun sort of thing with that
- 36:37Speaker 4: they must they must say, and I.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Won't say anything. Then if you don't want to remember.
- 36:42Speaker 4: I don't want. I want to give this as much
- 36:45Speaker 4: of a shake as possible, because listen, I'm going into
- 36:48Speaker 4: this and I'm sure people could have picked this up
- 36:49Speaker 4: on the conversation and the series didn't knock my socks off.
- 36:54Speaker 4: I did not dislike Inandor. Like I said, there's there's
- 36:57Speaker 4: some stuff coming up that I do remember that I
- 37:01Speaker 4: thought was phenomenal and I'm looking forward to seeing it again.
- 37:06Speaker 4: But there's other stuff where I remember it just didn't
- 37:10Speaker 4: click for me, and I want to come back at
- 37:13Speaker 4: it and say, Okay, did I you know, we'll rewatching
- 37:17Speaker 4: this help me assimilate it better.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you know, I think I think the
- 37:25Speaker 1: beauty of this show.
- 37:28Speaker 4: Is that.
- 37:30Speaker 3: And one of the things I think I enjoy about
- 37:32Speaker 3: it so much is that, you know, Rogue One was
- 37:39Speaker 3: you know, it had bits of humor in it and everything,
- 37:42Speaker 3: but at the same time, it also knew that it
- 37:45Speaker 3: was a very serious movie about a very serious topic,
- 37:48Speaker 3: with a lot of characters who are going to die, right,
- 37:51Speaker 3: and so it was you know, in Star Wars storytelling,
- 37:58Speaker 3: this is more more like the Umbara arc, right where
- 38:04Speaker 3: we're going to tell a very dark and gritty type
- 38:07Speaker 3: of story. And so I think that the thing that
- 38:12Speaker 3: I always love about this show the most, and rewatching
- 38:16Speaker 3: it even now, it's like there is room and Star
- 38:20Speaker 3: Wars for the stories that are like the Umbara arc,
- 38:23Speaker 3: where we are going to deal with kind of the
- 38:27Speaker 3: absolute horror of what we're going through, and at the
- 38:31Speaker 3: same time we're also going to deal with the absolute
- 38:33Speaker 3: horror of people turning and being incredibly dark, like Krell,
- 38:39Speaker 3: you know, the Jedi who's willing to use his own
- 38:42Speaker 3: clones as pawn in this game, which is just absolutely terrifying,
- 38:47Speaker 3: and in this show is that slightly darker, you know,
- 38:54Speaker 3: more gritty. It's basically the Deep Space nine of the
- 38:57Speaker 3: Star Wars series that way. And what I appreciated about
- 39:04Speaker 3: it is that it knows what it wants to be.
- 39:08Speaker 3: It knows the tone that it wants to go for,
- 39:10Speaker 3: and it doesn't apologize for it in the same way
- 39:13Speaker 3: that none of those Clone Wars arcs did. Right. You know,
- 39:16Speaker 3: George Lucas made no apologies for having an arc like Ombara,
- 39:20Speaker 3: but he also made no apologies for having an arc
- 39:23Speaker 3: like the Droid arc, you know where they're lost in
- 39:27Speaker 3: the in the that weird psychedelic planet that.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Anyway with Gascon. So that's the beauty.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Of Star Wars is that we can have these different tones.
- 39:43Speaker 3: And it's like I can love Skeleton Crew, but I
- 39:46Speaker 3: can also love and or at the same time, and
- 39:49Speaker 3: it's and I don't I'm not saying one is necessarily
- 39:53Speaker 3: better than the other. It's just more about, oh, what's
- 39:56Speaker 3: my mood right now? Do I want something more moody
- 39:59Speaker 3: or do I want something little bit more light? And
- 40:00Speaker 3: the beauty is is that Star Wars can encompass both,
- 40:03Speaker 3: and I think that's the kind of thing where it's
- 40:04Speaker 3: like I don't want and or need get it and
- 40:09Speaker 3: or needs.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Oh, I got it. Yes, Star Wars.
- 40:12Speaker 3: To all be like and Or, but I also don't
- 40:14Speaker 3: want it all to be like Skeleton Crew. I love
- 40:17Speaker 3: the variety, and I think.
- 40:19Speaker 1: That's the beauty for me. Is I'm already watching this.
- 40:22Speaker 3: I'm just I'm I'm enjoying the fact that that's this
- 40:25Speaker 3: type of show. You know, I've always kind of said
- 40:28Speaker 3: since this show came out, it's like, this is basically
- 40:32Speaker 3: like Star Wars attempting to do Game of Thrones level
- 40:39Speaker 3: storytelling and production value and everything where we're like, we're
- 40:43Speaker 3: gonna we're gonna pedal to the metal, We're gonna make
- 40:46Speaker 3: this thing happen. And so so I'm interested. Then you're
- 40:53Speaker 3: coming in obviously still pissed off about, you know, the
- 41:00Speaker 3: the the values of of like, ah, you could cut here,
- 41:04Speaker 3: it's in you know, little trimming.
- 41:05Speaker 1: But was there anything in the in the.
- 41:10Speaker 3: Rewatch of these three episodes that either changed for the
- 41:14Speaker 3: good or for the ill?
- 41:16Speaker 4: In your opinion, it was pretty much a push. It
- 41:20Speaker 4: was I had pretty much the same reaction, which was
- 41:23Speaker 4: I liked it. I thought it was good, and I'm
- 41:26Speaker 4: invested enough to keep going. But I wasn't charging around
- 41:31Speaker 4: being like, you got it, Oh, this was fantastic. I
- 41:35Speaker 4: was like, that was good. So hey, you know that
- 41:39Speaker 4: that that puts me that this three episode arc somewhere
- 41:43Speaker 4: it's probably like in the three and a half, maybe
- 41:46Speaker 4: bump it up to four for the production value, Like
- 41:49Speaker 4: the production design and the set decoration were really really sharp.
- 41:56Speaker 4: So you know, out of five, probably like a three
- 41:58Speaker 4: and a half to four something like that, and I
- 42:00Speaker 4: know you've got a ten out of five.
- 42:03Speaker 3: No, I actually think and part of this is just
- 42:06Speaker 3: thinking to the rest of the season, and I think
- 42:10Speaker 3: this is probably a good four point two five at
- 42:16Speaker 3: four point five maybe, but it's what's.
- 42:19Speaker 4: The difference four point three two? Just make it a four.
- 42:21Speaker 3: It's not a five, right, you know. And part of
- 42:25Speaker 3: that is just because like it's just the setup. I
- 42:28Speaker 3: think it's an incredibly good setup. I'm invested. I'm already
- 42:33Speaker 3: loving it. I was loving it when I first watched it,
- 42:36Speaker 3: I'm loving it again. And yet I'm also thinking, because
- 42:42Speaker 3: I can't, you know, not think about now what I
- 42:46Speaker 3: know is going to come in the series. And yeah,
- 42:51Speaker 3: this is not the best part of the series, but
- 42:54Speaker 3: I think it's an incredibly solid start. And you know,
- 42:58Speaker 3: if I was just going on for reduction value alone,
- 43:01Speaker 3: I mean this is a five. I mean, especially what
- 43:05Speaker 3: I'm thinking of, like.
- 43:06Speaker 1: The book, you know, and things like that.
- 43:11Speaker 3: Yeah, this is just like a whole other level, right,
- 43:14Speaker 3: I mean, they're not even in the same universe.
- 43:18Speaker 4: They definitely had different methods and different approaches. But it's
- 43:22Speaker 4: important always to remember Book of Boba Fett was hamstrung
- 43:26Speaker 4: by production limitations of the time. Like aays, I always
- 43:30Speaker 4: try to remember that that Book of Boba Fett, some
- 43:33Speaker 4: of those limitations you're talking about, there was nothing that
- 43:36Speaker 4: could be done. It was either make it the way
- 43:40Speaker 4: that they could or not make it at all. And
- 43:43Speaker 4: I admire them for taking a big swing at it
- 43:45Speaker 4: and saying, we'll do the best we can with what
- 43:47Speaker 4: we can.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Just leave that out, just just just just don't do that.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Just don't don't.
- 43:54Speaker 4: I could do that easily have been cut and not
- 43:57Speaker 4: anybody would have minded. But what I would minded is
- 44:00Speaker 4: if nobody reached out to you online, where can they
- 44:04Speaker 4: find you online?
- 44:04Speaker 3: Matt absolutely find me all over the place on social
- 44:07Speaker 3: media under the name Matt Rushing zero two. Of course,
- 44:10Speaker 3: here on the network, you'll also find me on a
- 44:12Speaker 3: completed show called Owlposts talking about every single chapter the
- 44:15Speaker 3: Harry Potter series. On the TFM network, you'll find me
- 44:18Speaker 3: doing a bunch of shows. John is a guest over
- 44:21Speaker 3: there on the six or two Club, where we're talking
- 44:22Speaker 3: about all of those franchises we love, plus a lot
- 44:26Speaker 3: of great star trek talk over there. So I really
- 44:28Speaker 3: do hope that you will check all of that out.
- 44:30Speaker 3: But John, you know, if people wanted to catch up
- 44:32Speaker 3: with you, talk more Star Wars, maybe get deeper into
- 44:37Speaker 3: the weeds on you know, possibly try and change your mind.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Where can people find.
- 44:42Speaker 4: You, Well, you can find me as cassel Junkie online
- 44:44Speaker 4: k S s E l j U n ki E,
- 44:47Speaker 4: just running into walls with my shortsightedness that didn't allow
- 44:50Speaker 4: me to see the absolute brilliance of this first three
- 44:52Speaker 4: episode arc of and Or. It's tough. It's tough. I
- 44:55Speaker 4: avoid stairs because I just can't see them in front
- 44:58Speaker 4: of me, apparently, And you can, of course find me
- 45:00Speaker 4: on a show here on the network mentioned before, where
- 45:03Speaker 4: I was heaping praise on Jackie Brown House Lights which
- 45:07Speaker 4: I co host with Darren Moser and Tristan Riddell. We
- 45:10Speaker 4: have a time. Come on over hang out with us.
- 45:12Speaker 4: We'd love to have you. But Matt, I'm hearing a
- 45:16Speaker 4: lot of bogging in the background right now, so I

- 45:23Speaker 2: Fun clubs, Join the Revolution, Join the nerd Party.
