Transcript
- 0:03Welcome everybody to another episode of mom St.
- 0:06Usai am your host Jackie. And today we are going to be
- 0:09talking about the perfect Princess day at Walt Disney
- 0:13World. So just a few episodes ago, we
- 0:16started this little kind of miniseries on these IP focused
- 0:21or certain movie focused perfect days at the Disney World parks.
- 0:28So today we're going to be talking about princesses.
- 0:30Last episode we did this, we talked about Star Wars.
- 0:32So if you're a Star Wars fan and you haven't checked that out and
- 0:35you want to know where to find all of your favorite Star Wars
- 0:38characters, go there first. But today we're talking all
- 0:42things princesses. So that is the goal for today is
- 0:45to give you a rundown of where you can find the princesses at
- 0:49what parks and where you your best chance is to be able to see
- 0:54as many princesses as possible. So princesses are some of the
- 0:56very most popular characters at the Disney parks today.
- 1:01We are going to highlight all of the places again that you can
- 1:03find the princesses at Walt Disney World.
- 1:06And at the end of today's episode, I'm going to give you
- 1:08my perfect Princess Day itinerary guides.
- 1:12So they are going to be some guides on if you want to do
- 1:17characters, some guides on if you want to do rides, lots of
- 1:20different options with those. But for the purpose also of
- 1:23today's episode, I am going to do my best to stick with what we
- 1:28consider the official quote UN quote Disney princesses.
- 1:33So there are a ton of Princess adjacent characters and maybe
- 1:38should be Princess characters in the Disney IP intellectual
- 1:42property. Is that what IP stands for?
- 1:45But for all intents and purposes of today, we are sticking with
- 1:49what Disney considers their official Princess roster, which
- 1:52is Moana, Rapunzel, Tiana, Ariel, Cinderella, Jasmine,
- 1:58Bell, Snow White, Aurora, Mulan, Merida, Pocahontas, and Raya.
- 2:03So those are the official Disney princesses that we are going to
- 2:09focus on in today's episode. We are going to highlight each
- 2:12park to start and then we'll talk about the itinerary options
- 2:16from there. So I kind of put these in order
- 2:18of like least amount of princesses to most amount of
- 2:22princesses. So we're starting at Animal
- 2:25Kingdom. Currently, Animal Kingdom is
- 2:28very lacking on its Princess front.
- 2:31There are a few places if you are visiting Animal Kingdom that
- 2:35you can find these princesses. And it really is only two
- 2:40different character meet and greets.
- 2:43So Moana has a character meet and greet that is at Animal
- 2:47Kingdom and Pocahontas has a character meet and greet that is
- 2:50at Animal Kingdom. Other than that, unfortunately,
- 2:55there are no rides that feature the princesses, there are no
- 2:58shows that feature princesses, and there is no dining that
- 3:01features princesses. Now that's not to say there are
- 3:04not fabulous rides, shows, and dining at that park, but there
- 3:08are no Princess specific options when it comes to Animal Kingdom.
- 3:12So not much to say there. Let's hop on over to Hollywood
- 3:17Studios. Hollywood Studios has
- 3:19significantly more than Animal Kingdom, but it doesn't have as
- 3:25many as some of the other parks we're going to get to here in a
- 3:27little bit. As far as rides go, Hollywood
- 3:30Studios does not have any specific rides that are themed
- 3:34to the princesses. However, there are princesses
- 3:37that you can find still character meet and greets.
- 3:41You've got Ariel in the live action version that meets at
- 3:46Hollywood Studios. You can find her in the same
- 3:50building as the Waltz One Man's dream attraction that is
- 3:54directly behind the Chinese Theater.
- 3:56So if you want to meet the live action version of Princess
- 4:00Ariel, that is where you will find her.
- 4:02I know I said I wasn't going to do too many Princess adjacent or
- 4:05should be princesses, but I will just mention that Olaf does meet
- 4:10here. If you are a fan of Anna and
- 4:12Elsa, he is kind of that Princess adjacent.
- 4:15So you can find the Olaf meet and greet at Hollywood Studios
- 4:18as well. Let's talk about shows at
- 4:21Hollywood Studios because there are several that feature
- 4:25princesses or Prince Princess stories or music from the
- 4:29princesses. You've got the Beauty and the
- 4:32Beast live on stage show. This is a show like a stage show
- 4:37and it is in a open air Amphitheatre.
- 4:39It is covered, which is nice in case of, you know, scorching sun
- 4:43or downpours in Florida. But you can find that at
- 4:46Hollywood Studios and it is essentially a stage performance
- 4:50of the movie in just an abridged form, meaning it's shorter,
- 4:55right? So they've got little snippets
- 4:58of each song. You'll still see all your
- 5:00favorite characters. You'll still get to see Belle on
- 5:02stage, you know, throughout all of that.
- 5:05It's a really great show. They've got really talented
- 5:08performers in that show. So if you are a Beauty and the
- 5:11Beast fan, that is a must do for you on your trip to Hollywood
- 5:14Studios. Another show that you can attend
- 5:18at studios that has princesses in it is the New Little, well
- 5:23new newly reopened I guess I should say Little Mermaid, a
- 5:28musical adventure. So this is inside of a an indoor
- 5:32theater and it is again, a stage show with live performers.
- 5:37This one's got less people performers and more puppet
- 5:41performers, but is a fabulous again, retelling, abridged
- 5:46retelling of The Little Mermaid show.
- 5:49And this is, like I said, it's been around now again for about
- 5:53a year. And it is very similar, if
- 5:56you're familiar with the previous rendition of this,
- 5:59very, very similar. When it reopened about a year
- 6:02ago, they just kind of plussed it and enhanced it.
- 6:05They gave it some new character puppets and some new lighting
- 6:11and some new staging and those kinds of things.
- 6:14But the story is still the story that we know and love of The
- 6:17Little Mermaid. So that is another great option.
- 6:21The other theater style of show that we have is the Frozen Sing
- 6:26Along. So this one is a little bit
- 6:29different in that Anna and Elsa are both in it, but again, they
- 6:36are what we are calling that Princess adjacent.
- 6:42So I do just want to mention it because I feel like even though
- 6:45Anna and Elsa are not technically on the official list
- 6:48because you know, Queen Anna and all or Queen, Queen Anna and
- 6:51Queen Elsa and all that good stuff, I do feel like they are
- 6:54worth mentioning. So you will hear me talk a
- 6:56little bit about Frozen, but that show is really, really
- 6:59great. But do keep in mind that Anna
- 7:01and Elsa are not in the entire show.
- 7:04So it's mostly done by the royal historians, which are new
- 7:08characters for the show, but Anna and Elsa do both make
- 7:10appearances for that one as well.
- 7:14The other show that I have to mention is the Nighttime
- 7:17Spectacular show at Hollywood Studios, and that is Fantasmic.
- 7:22This show is one of the best places.
- 7:26If you are a family that really just truly loves all of the
- 7:30princesses, this is the show that you're going to want to go
- 7:34to. It is so, so good.
- 7:39It's got tons of different characters, but for as far as
- 7:44princesses go, it's got tons of brief Princess moments in some
- 7:49of the visual effects that they've got and like video
- 7:53things that they have going on in there.
- 7:55But as far as like performers and like actual princesses in
- 8:00person in the show, they've got Pocahontas, they've got Moana,
- 8:05they've got Elsa, Queen Elsa, they've got Belle, they've got
- 8:09Ariel, and they've got Snow White.
- 8:11So a massive list there that you would get to see.
- 8:15And again, those are performers during the show.
- 8:19There's a whole little Princess section that is where you will
- 8:22find a Belle, Ariel and Snow White on their little floats
- 8:26with their male counterparts on those flits with them.
- 8:31Pocahontas has a great little section, as does Moana and Elsa
- 8:36as well. And like I said, that's one of
- 8:38the best places to see if you're OK and your kiddos you're with
- 8:42are OK with just like getting to see them.
- 8:45They don't have to like actually go up and meet them.
- 8:47Fantasmic is a great way to kind of check that box at Hollywood
- 8:52Studios for them. A couple other things that I do
- 8:56want to mention about Fantasmic, just to make sure you know, if
- 9:02you sit too far down, there are water effects.
- 9:06If the breeze kicks up, you may get wet.
- 9:09So keep that in mind. If your Princess wants to go
- 9:12full Princess dress to go watch Fantasmic, let her do it or let
- 9:17him do it. However, you may not want to sit
- 9:19all the way down at the front. Just keep that in mind.
- 9:23There is also some fire effects on the water there as well.
- 9:27Again, just make sure that you kind of take a look at that and
- 9:30decide where you want to sit. And if you've got kiddos that
- 9:34are sensitive to water or flame, you may want to let them sit
- 9:37back because you do feel the heat from the flame.
- 9:39Obviously you're completely safe even if you're in the front row
- 9:42from that, but you will feel that the warmth from that if you
- 9:46do choose to sit down that far. So that kind of wraps up what
- 9:50we've got going at Hollywood Studios because there is no
- 9:54dining option there. But like I said, we will we'll
- 9:58get to the to more princesses the further we go.
- 10:01So our first two parks a little bit lacking, but the shows at
- 10:05Hollywood Studios are really, really top notch if you want to
- 10:08meet princesses and see princesses there.
- 10:12With that, we're going to keep on pushing through and we are
- 10:16going to hop to Epcot. Now.
- 10:19Epcot and Magic Kingdom both have a ton of characters that
- 10:25are true character meet and greets for the princesses if you
- 10:30are doing a Princess day at these parks.
- 10:32And we'll talk about itineraries here in a little bit, but if you
- 10:36are doing Princess Days at these parks, you really need to
- 10:41prioritize and you really need to look at, especially at Epcot
- 10:45where these character meets are taking place.
- 10:49So you really want to plan ahead for that.
- 10:52But before we get to the specific character meets, let's
- 10:55talk about the rides at Epcot because there are technically
- 10:59two different attractions at Epcot that feature princesses
- 11:04and Princess adjacent. Because I can not not mention
- 11:08Frozen Ever After. So again, talking about Frozen,
- 11:12talking about the Queens, Anna and Elsa, again, I just feel
- 11:17like they need to be mentioned alongside of these princesses
- 11:19here. So Frozen Ever After is a great
- 11:23Princess ride if that's something that you want to throw
- 11:27on your list for Epcot. It does get a little bit of a
- 11:30long line, so I suggest either going to that first thing during
- 11:35your rope drop or kind of keeping an eye out on that line
- 11:41to see maybe if it goes down about 10 or 15 minutes during a
- 11:45meal time or during the afternoon or jumping in line at
- 11:49the end of the night. If you're not interested in
- 11:52seeing fireworks, you can kind of make that call.
- 11:55Using lightning lanes is definitely an option there.
- 11:57It is a Tier 1 lightning lane, so that is another option that
- 12:01you can utilize. As far as getting on Frozen Ever
- 12:03after. The other attraction that I want
- 12:06to mention is not officially a ride, it's an experience and
- 12:10that is Journey of Water inspired by Moana.
- 12:14So this attraction, you don't actually see Moana inside the
- 12:23walkthrough attraction. However, she does have a meet
- 12:27and greet that we'll talk about here in just a moment.
- 12:30That is like right around the corner from the entrance to
- 12:33this. But this, if you've got a kiddo
- 12:37that really loves Moana, this walkthrough is incredible.
- 12:42Also, if you've got a kiddo that just loves interactivity and
- 12:49things that they can, there's lots of things in there that
- 12:52they can like make happen. This is an amazing place to
- 12:56spend a ton of time. My kiddos, the first time they
- 12:59went through this walkthrough, they absolutely fell in love.
- 13:02And they asked to go back about 400 more times on the rest of
- 13:05our trip. And we did make several trips
- 13:08back to going through this walkthrough attraction.
- 13:12But essentially this attraction takes you through the water
- 13:16cycle. There are tons of little signs
- 13:21and descriptions and things as you go that talk about like how
- 13:24the water, you know, comes down from the clouds and then where
- 13:27does it go and how does it end up back in there and what is,
- 13:30you know, what does that cycle look like?
- 13:32So it's very educational and informative, which my kids maybe
- 13:38are the minority, but they love stuff like that.
- 13:40But the best part is in each step of the water cycle, you get
- 13:45to go through and interact with the water.
- 13:48So in the first little section they have these streams of water
- 13:51that are going down in lines and you can run your hand through
- 13:54and it makes music as you do it. Kind of like a little like
- 13:57xylophone situation, similar to what the one you used to do at 7
- 14:01Doors Mine train. But that one's been off for a
- 14:03really long time. And then as you go through,
- 14:07there's other things that you can raise your hands up and then
- 14:10the waves get, you know, the, the water gets higher or you can
- 14:14put your hand out like this and the water will come up and touch
- 14:17your hand. Or there's another section that
- 14:20you can jump on the little sensors.
- 14:23And if you get a whole group together, when you jump, the big
- 14:26wave comes over, you get a little bit wet.
- 14:30You can certainly stand in the way of there's a section towards
- 14:34the end where they've got these water chutes that kind of come
- 14:37out and go across the pathways. And certainly if you stand in
- 14:41one of those, you will get drenched.
- 14:44But you don't have to get wet when you walk through.
- 14:46So keep that in mind. There's another spot where it
- 14:50looks like a curtain of like waterfall, but as you approach
- 14:53it, there's a sensor and you stay dry as you go underneath.
- 14:55So lots of really cool things. My kids could spend easily 45
- 15:03minutes to an hour in this walkthrough attraction every
- 15:06single time. The music is great, the greenery
- 15:09in the scenery is absolutely breathtaking and gorgeous.
- 15:13As you get towards the end of it, you come across a massive TE
- 15:17Fitzies sculpture if you're familiar with the first movie of
- 15:21Moana. So again, a really, really great
- 15:25Princess attraction walkthrough that really kind of immerses you
- 15:30inside of that story of Moana. So definitely recommend that
- 15:35recommend Frozen Ever after again, Princess adjacent.
- 15:39Let's talk about these character meet and greets.
- 15:41So like I mentioned, there are a ton of character meet and greets
- 15:44at Epcot. Most of them take place out in
- 15:49World Showcase, but before you go out to World Showcase,
- 15:53especially if you've just visited the journey of water
- 15:56inspired by Moana, there is a Moana meet and greet that is
- 15:59literally right around the corner from that attraction.
- 16:03So definitely stop and see her before you head out into World
- 16:07Showcase because World Showcase is quite a haul to get all the
- 16:12way around. It is about a mile around World
- 16:15Showcase Lagoon, so keep that in mind as you're thinking and
- 16:19planning your course of action for this.
- 16:24So with the character meet and greets, I'm just going to list
- 16:28them for you because you're going to have to decide, OK,
- 16:32which way are we going? Are we starting in Mexico?
- 16:36Are we starting in Canada? We're not going there, but you
- 16:39and you're going to have to decide for yourself.
- 16:40OK, so the first one that I have again, Princess adjacent, Anna
- 16:44and Elsa do meet in Norway. So just mentioning that if that
- 16:47is something that you want to add to your plans.
- 16:50Now off of our official Princess list, you can find Princess
- 16:56Jasmine in Morocco. Hers is a lesser known character
- 17:00meet and greet. It's kind of hidden back in the
- 17:05back near the shops in Morocco, but a super great character meet
- 17:09meet meet and greet back there. If you are in France, you've
- 17:13actually got 2 princesses that meet in France.
- 17:17The 1st is Aurora and she meets in a little gazebo that is along
- 17:21the walkway that you're you take if you're going towards like
- 17:24Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and like the back part of the
- 17:27pavilion over in France, she meets in that little gazebo
- 17:31area. So she's a super fun one that
- 17:34you can find. And then the other Princess that
- 17:37meets in the France pavilion is Belle.
- 17:40But here you will find Belle in her blue dress look, so her blue
- 17:46and white outfit from the very beginning of Beauty and the
- 17:49Beast. That is what Belle meets in in
- 17:52the France pavilion and she typically meets closer to like
- 17:57towards the water in France, so not into the pavilion, but kind
- 18:04of across the walkway on the the water side of the France
- 18:08pavilion. So again, you can find both of
- 18:11those in France. If you are walking through
- 18:14Germany, you will find Snow White and Snow White is
- 18:18typically situated back there is like a little cute courtyard
- 18:23with a little wishing well that is next to the festival food
- 18:28booth that is typically in that area.
- 18:32So she meets in that kind of little nook tucked away.
- 18:35Again, she's a really easy one to miss, so definitely keep your
- 18:38eye out for her if that is one that is on your list to meet.
- 18:43And then the other Princess that meets out in World Showcase is
- 18:46in China, which I'm sure you can guess is Mulan.
- 18:51So you can meet Mulan in the China Pavilion out in World
- 18:54Showcase as well. And she is typically in her
- 18:58standard pink and blue and white dress outfit.
- 19:03So don't think like warrior Mulan.
- 19:07Think more beginning of the movie Mulan again, like we
- 19:09talked about for Belle. So that is what you will find
- 19:12her meeting in out there. So again, I just highly suggest
- 19:17you really think about what princesses you want to meet.
- 19:20If you are going to Epcot to meet princesses, make sure that
- 19:24you plan your route accordingly because you will pretty much
- 19:28have to, especially if you're adding Anna and Elsa to that.
- 19:31You're going to have to walk the entirety of World Showcase.
- 19:34So keep that in mind and we'll talk a little bit about their
- 19:38times and kind of timing of that here in a little bit when we
- 19:42jump into the actual like itineraries that I've got for
- 19:46you for today for your perfect Princess day.
- 19:49So that is our character meet and greet.
- 19:51So let's talk about shows at Epcot.
- 19:54Now, Epcot has a ton of shows, but not all of them have
- 19:59princesses. The one that I do want to
- 20:02highlight is in the France Pavilion.
- 20:04They do have a Beauty and the Beast sing along.
- 20:07However, this is more like, if you're familiar with The Lion
- 20:13King franchise, they did Lion King 1 1/2 where it's like a
- 20:17different retelling of the same story that you know, but it's
- 20:21told from a different point of view.
- 20:24That's what you get in the Beauty and the Beast Sing along
- 20:26at the France Pavilion. It is more of a story of Lafoux
- 20:30and told by Lafoux than anything else.
- 20:33So does it feature the story of Belle?
- 20:37Yes, but it doesn't really feature her prominently, if that
- 20:41makes sense. Now, the other show that I do
- 20:43want to mention again is the nighttime show here at Epcot.
- 20:48This show does not have any live performers.
- 20:51So like we talked about with Phantasmic, where those live
- 20:54performers and those princesses are in real life, in person
- 20:58there, that doesn't happen at Epcot.
- 21:01So this is just strictly fireworks and music that happens
- 21:06in World Showcase on the Lagoon out in the center there.
- 21:11But there is music from some of the Princess movies that is
- 21:14featured in there. So if you are a music person and
- 21:18you're just looking to have some of the Princess music around,
- 21:22that fireworks show is great. If that really doesn't matter to
- 21:25you and you're looking more for like the in person like I
- 21:28mentioned, then I would definitely opt for Fantasmic at
- 21:32Hollywood Studios for that reason.
- 21:35And that's kind of our show options at Epcot.
- 21:38Now let's talk about dining because there is a dining option
- 21:41here at Epcot and that is the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.
- 21:47And I apologize if I said that wrong.
- 21:49I feel like I don't know how to ever pronounce that every time I
- 21:52try to read it on our notes on any episode that we're talking
- 21:55about. But that is in the Norway
- 21:58pavilion and it is a character dining experience.
- 22:04So if you are somebody that is wanting to do a character in
- 22:07dining, this is again, like I said, the best Princess option.
- 22:12So at this location you will find rotating princesses.
- 22:17OK, they can never officially guarantee you who is going to be
- 22:25at this location because they will just tell you it's rotating
- 22:28princesses typically you are going to get Belle, Ariel,
- 22:35Cinderella, Aurora and Snow White typically.
- 22:41So those five you are going to get, you may also come across
- 22:46Piana, Mulan, Jasmine or Rapunzel.
- 22:49So it's really kind of just luck of the draw with who you're
- 22:53going to get. But you are going to see at
- 22:55least a minimum of five princesses at this character
- 22:59dining experience. So definitely worth it to get
- 23:02your photos, to get your autographs, to get to have, you
- 23:05know, a little bit of an interaction with all of those
- 23:08princesses. Totally worth it for you.
- 23:10Now, this restaurant is a family style restaurant.
- 23:14It is a Norwegian inspired menu, so definitely take a look.
- 23:19If you've got more particular eaters or kiddos that are really
- 23:22specific about what they like to eat or don't like to eat, take a
- 23:25look at those menus. It is at breakfast, lunch and
- 23:29dinner, so you do have lots of times to try to book, but it is
- 23:34one that you are going to have to book ahead of time for.
- 23:37So make sure that you are ready and on there 60 days out from
- 23:43your trip booking at 6:00 AM. All those good things to make
- 23:47sure that you can have your best shot at getting this character
- 23:50dining because it is a very, very, very popular character
- 23:54dining experience. If you were going for breakfast,
- 23:57it is, again like I said, it's a family style menu for breakfast.
- 24:01It is $62.00 for adults and $39.00 for kids, and then at
- 24:06lunch and dinner when the menu swaps over, it is 69 for adults
- 24:10and a 46 for kids. So definitely not a cheap meal.
- 24:15But if you've got a Princess lover, definitely one to
- 24:18consider splurging for or budgeting for or saving for
- 24:23because like I said, this is the best option.
- 24:26As far as how many Princess characters you can meet all at
- 24:30one time, that's the way to go for that.
- 24:33So that kind of wraps up our Epcot options for princesses.
- 24:39And now let's head to our last of our four Disney parks here.
- 24:44And then remember, we'll get to our little itinerary notes after
- 24:47this, but let's head over to Magic Kingdom.
- 24:51Now. There are several rides, which
- 24:53is where we're going to start here at Magic Kingdom, but I
- 24:56will mention that a few of these are like themed around the
- 25:03princesses, but like not directly.
- 25:05So these first two, actually three that I'm going to mention
- 25:09are themes to the movie that the Princess may be appearing in,
- 25:14but not like directly Princess themed and Princess related, if
- 25:19that makes sense, which I think it will once I get there.
- 25:21So the first one I'm going to talk about is the magic carpets
- 25:24of Aladdin. So obviously Jasmine, Princess
- 25:28Jasmine is part of the Aladdin storyline.
- 25:31So these this ride, this attraction is a Dumbo style
- 25:34attraction where it's got the spinning magic carpets there.
- 25:37It is truly more Aladdin themed, not as much Princess Jasmine
- 25:42themed, but wanted to put that on the list in case you've got a
- 25:44kiddo that's just really into that movie and everything about
- 25:47it. Kind of similar to that.
- 25:51The next one that I've got to mention is just the Prince
- 25:55Charming Regal Carousel. Now, the only reason this is on
- 25:59the list is because it's gotten the name Prince Charming.
- 26:02It's really just your standard carousel.
- 26:04It really doesn't have that much theming that has to do with
- 26:07Prince Charming or Cinderella. Maybe some of the music if you
- 26:10happen to get one of the songs that's from there, but other
- 26:14than that, really just your standard carousel.
- 26:17The next attraction on our list is 7 Dwarfs Mine Train.
- 26:21Now this attraction is more themed to the dwarfs from Snow
- 26:26White and the Seven Dwarfs. Obviously with the name you kind
- 26:29of understand that and it does follow them into the mines and
- 26:34that's kind of the theming with that.
- 26:36However, at the end of the ride, before you pull back in to do
- 26:39your unload out of the coaster, you do get a quick glimpse of a
- 26:43very joyful Snow White animatronic that is dancing with
- 26:49the dwarves inside of the cottage at the end.
- 26:51So again, a brief glimpse of a Princess in that one, but really
- 26:56truly more Princess adjacent storyline with that one.
- 27:01The next two are more truly themed to princesses, the first
- 27:06being Tiana's Bayou Adventure. So this this attraction is truly
- 27:12a Tiana ride. It's got Tiana all over in the
- 27:17visual, in the the audio and the music and the entire experience.
- 27:21So this is a unique storyline though, however, to the ride.
- 27:25So it is not just a retelling of the movie, which is a lot of
- 27:28what we've talked about so far. This is a brand new storyline
- 27:33where Tiana and Lewis are trying to find a band to play at a big
- 27:38party that they're having at Tiana's restaurant.
- 27:42So this follows that storyline. You do see Tiana, you do not see
- 27:47her in her big green Princess gown.
- 27:50She is in more of a day-to-day outfit for kind of searching
- 27:56around the Bayou for those musicians to come and play.
- 28:01At the end she is in a little bit more of a fancy get up, but
- 28:04it's not her true green dress from the movie, but a great,
- 28:09great attraction if you are a Princess Tiana fan.
- 28:13The last one that I want to mention is Under the Sea Journey
- 28:16of The Little Mermaid. This is a standard dark ride in
- 28:20Fantasyland that you can hop in a clamshell and you ride through
- 28:26different animatronic scenes that are truly the retelling of
- 28:30the story of The Little Mermaid. So Scuttle is your narrator as
- 28:35you walk through the different scenes and songs of the movie
- 28:39that that we know and love. And this is the animated
- 28:42version. I know we talked about the live
- 28:43action aerial being at Hollywood Studios earlier.
- 28:47This is the standard OG 1989 Little Mermaid animated version
- 28:55of the story. So those are your attractions.
- 28:58Again, it's really interesting to kind of look at this list
- 29:01because when I thought about doing princesses, I was like,
- 29:04oh, there's tons of attractions that are princesses.
- 29:07There's really not as many as I kind of thought.
- 29:11Again, a lot of them are like based around the movies or maybe
- 29:15have the name, but they don't really truly feature the
- 29:19princesses, which is kind of an interesting thing to think
- 29:22about. It is more of the characters
- 29:25that we see I think in the parks that makes us think like, Oh
- 29:27yeah, they're they're all over the place, especially at Magic
- 29:30Kingdom. So let's talk about those
- 29:32character meets. Again, there are a bunch here at
- 29:35Magic Kingdom, just like we talked about at Epcot, and I'll
- 29:39get into a little bit more information about, again, like
- 29:42the times and like the best plan of action for meeting all of
- 29:46these characters if you're at Magic Kingdom here in a little
- 29:49bit. But for now, I'm just going to
- 29:51list them for you. So character meet and greet
- 29:54options that are princesses at Magic Kingdom.
- 29:57Ariel, she has a designated meet and greet location that is
- 30:01directly next to her ride. So that's a really great option.
- 30:05If you want to meet Jasmine, she does meet over by the Magic
- 30:09Carpets of Aladdin and she meets together with Aladdin.
- 30:12So you can meet both of them at the same time.
- 30:14Over there. There is several princesses that
- 30:19hang around Princess Fairy Tale Hall, which is actually kind of
- 30:23nearby Prince Charming Regal Carousel that we talked about a
- 30:26little bit ago, kind of in that central hub area of Fantasyland
- 30:31directly behind Cinderella Castle.
- 30:34And in there you've got two sides to a Princess Fairy tale
- 30:38Hall. So this is something you really
- 30:40do have to plan for. And again, we'll get into those
- 30:42plans here momentarily. But on the one side, you're
- 30:45going to find Cinderella. Cinderella is a guarantee on
- 30:48that side, but she's going to be with what they consider a
- 30:51visiting Princess. So it is a surprise on who else
- 30:55is meeting with her. I'll get to that in just a
- 30:57second. On the other side of Princess
- 31:00Fairy Tale Hall in a separate line.
- 31:02So the Cinderella line is one line.
- 31:05In the separate line, on the other side, you're going to find
- 31:07Tiana. Now this is where you will find
- 31:10Tiana in her true green dress from the movie.
- 31:13So if that is the version of Tiana that you are wanting to
- 31:17see, this is the place to find her.
- 31:19And again, she also has a visiting Princess with her.
- 31:23It's always going to be a mystery.
- 31:25It just depends on who's around and who's available in
- 31:28Fantasylands to be greeting guests at that moment.
- 31:32That being said, typically who you will find meeting with
- 31:38Cinderella and Tiana are any combination of Rapunzel, Aurora,
- 31:44Snow White, Jasmine, and Mulan. The most frequent ones are going
- 31:49to be Rapunzel and Snow White, but the other ones do pop in and
- 31:54out depending again on who's around and who's visiting for
- 31:57the day. An honorary mention with this is
- 32:01that you can also find Elena of Avalor here.
- 32:04While she is not a official Disney Princess, she is a
- 32:09Princess in her in her storyline in her show that was on Disney
- 32:16Channel several years back. So she will sometimes also be
- 32:20meeting in there as well. So you can find any combination
- 32:25of those depending on the day, depending on the time, and it
- 32:28can change from hour to hour depending on if a Princess needs
- 32:33to go elsewhere and a new Princess steps in to meet.
- 32:37But again, you are guaranteed Cinderella on one side and Tiana
- 32:41on the other side. So that is a really, really
- 32:44great meet and greet to do because you can get 4 princesses
- 32:49in two lines and those lines are directly next to each other and
- 32:53they're mostly indoors. So really, really great
- 32:56character meet and greet for that that round of princesses in
- 33:02Magic Kingdom. So let's talk about shows.
- 33:05There are several different show experiences at Magic Kingdom in
- 33:10which you can see princesses and wave to them and those types of
- 33:16things. Now, these are not true
- 33:17character meet and greets. Remember, these are in there in
- 33:20part of the show. The first one that I want to
- 33:23mention is kind of a hybrid show attraction and that is the
- 33:26Enchanted Tales with Belle. So this is an experience where
- 33:31it's a audience participation show that takes place and you do
- 33:37get to see Belle, but it's not like a true character meet and
- 33:42greet where you like wait in line, you go up, you take a
- 33:44picture, you get an autograph, then you walk away kind of
- 33:47situation. Belle comes into the show and
- 33:52interacts with the audience members and several audience
- 33:55members get a job and a role to help act out the story.
- 33:59Very, very cute. But just keep in mind that it's
- 34:02not a true character meet and greet.
- 34:04However, you can get a picture with Belle before you exit the
- 34:08experience. So it is kind of a unique hybrid
- 34:13situation as far as that all goes.
- 34:17The rest of these are going to be experiences where you're
- 34:19going to be able to see princesses, hear princesses,
- 34:22maybe wave to princesses, but not like stop and get a picture
- 34:25with them. The first of that being Mickey's
- 34:29Royal Friendship Fair, which is the stage show that happens at
- 34:34the castle at Magic Kingdom. So this is one that has usually
- 34:40several showtimes throughout the day.
- 34:42So you definitely want to check and see what those showtimes are
- 34:45so you don't miss it. But it is.
- 34:49It's got a ton of characters in it, and it is the story of
- 34:51Mickey and Minnie and their pals wanting to plan this friendship
- 34:56day celebration essentially, and they're inviting all their
- 34:59friends to come along. So in this one, you will get to
- 35:02see Princess Tiana again. She's not in her big green gown.
- 35:06She's in like a cute little flapper outfit.
- 35:09You will get to see Rapunzel. She is in her standard purple
- 35:12dress in this one. And I should mention you get to
- 35:15see Tiana and Naveen and you get to see Rapunzel and Flynn Rider
- 35:19in this one as well. So those are super fun.
- 35:22You do also get to see Elsa and Anna again, our adjacent Queens
- 35:25over here. They are in that show as well.
- 35:29Super, super adorable show at the castle.
- 35:33Do keep in mind though, that this area for this show is
- 35:37standing only. There's no seating available in
- 35:40this space and it is directly in in the sun and exposed to the
- 35:45elements. So definitely keep that in mind
- 35:49because in the middle of the afternoon in the summer in
- 35:52Florida, not a great time to go see this first thing in the
- 35:57morning and later in the afternoon, much better times to
- 36:02go see this. So plan accordingly.
- 36:04Or if it's a cloudy enough day or not super hot, obviously
- 36:07that's a great option to go and stand and watch.
- 36:10What I like to do for Friendship Fair is try to plan our lunch
- 36:17around it and we can go sit. Typically in Tomorrowland
- 36:22Terrace there's an upper level that is just open seating for
- 36:25lunch. They used to have a quick
- 36:27service restaurant in there. It hasn't been open in probably
- 36:316 years ish but the seating at the top of there is open above
- 36:37where they typically do like the dessert party areas for
- 36:40fireworks and I like to sit on the far edge and if you sit and
- 36:44you angle it just right you can see the stage for friendship
- 36:48fare whenever you are eating. They usually do like a 1245 show
- 36:53and we usually have already had a mid or a mid morning snack, so
- 36:57we eat our lunch a little bit late and that is something that
- 37:00I like to try to time if I can. But that is a super, super fun
- 37:05show. They've got some great music.
- 37:08You get music from each of those characters and you get some
- 37:10great original music to the show as well.
- 37:13The next thing that I want to mention as far as show
- 37:15experience goes is the Adventure Friends cavalcade.
- 37:18So this is a parade. This is like a little mini
- 37:21parade. So these cavalcades started
- 37:24during the pandemic because Disney did not want people
- 37:29congregating for parades because it wasn't safe at the time to do
- 37:32that. So so they would do these little
- 37:34pop up cavalcades throughout the day.
- 37:36I'm just as fun little magical extras for the people that were
- 37:40in the parks. Now, though they are on a set
- 37:43schedule, the Adventure Friends cavalcade typically has two
- 37:47performances or two showtimes in the morning.
- 37:50I want to say they're like a 10/30 and like an elevenish or
- 37:55like 11:45 maybe somewhere in that round.
- 37:59So like a 10/30 and an 11:45. But again, you're always going
- 38:03to want to check and see what those showtimes look like
- 38:07beforehand so you can plan accordingly.
- 38:10But in the Adventure Friends cavalcade, there is a whole slew
- 38:13of princesses that you can wave and interact with.
- 38:17So in this cavalcade, either walking in the parade or on the
- 38:21floats of the parade, you're going to see Moana, Jasmine,
- 38:25Mulan, Merida, Pocahontas, and Raya.
- 38:30So that is 6 of the 13 official Disney princesses.
- 38:34I will also mention that our honorary Princess Elena of
- 38:39Avalor, who I just talked about in Princess Fairy Tale Hall, is
- 38:42also in this parade. So lots of princesses that you
- 38:46can see, as well as tons of other characters.
- 38:49This Adventure Friends Cavalcade is a really, really fun one
- 38:53because it's got characters from all over.
- 38:56It's got Stitch, it's got Mary Poppins, it's got Max, it's got
- 39:00Jose from The Three Caballeros, it's got Raya, it's got Bruno
- 39:04from Encanto. Again, lots and lots and lots of
- 39:07really, really great characters. So that is definitely one to
- 39:12catch if you're able to, and it does follow the traditional
- 39:17parade route. So if you look that up and kind
- 39:20of see where that goes, the parade route runs from Tiana's
- 39:25Bayou Adventure up and then it turns and goes past the Hall of
- 39:28Presidents, goes around the hub by the castle and then down Main
- 39:32Street on to end by the fire station.
- 39:35So that is a really, really great cavalcade to catch.
- 39:39If you are a character person and you are cool with just like
- 39:43waving and getting to see those characters, that is definitely a
- 39:47super good one to catch for that.
- 39:50So another great option for shows and parades at Magic
- 39:53Kingdom is the Festival of Fantasy parade.
- 39:55So this parade has been going on for over 10 years at Magic
- 40:00Kingdom and it's got tons of really great princesses that you
- 40:03can find in this parade. They do it at least once an
- 40:07afternoon at Magic Kingdom. Sometimes they'll do it twice.
- 40:10It is typically around 3:00. Sometimes it's get shifted to
- 40:142:00 depending if they do 2 it's usually like a noon and a three
- 40:19that they do for. This parade, it does follow the
- 40:22standard parade route. It starts over by Tiana's and
- 40:25comes down Main Street and ends by the fire station.
- 40:29As far as princesses, as you can see in this parade, one of the
- 40:34the very first float in this parade has all a ton of
- 40:39princesses on it. So it's got Belle, Beauty and
- 40:43the Beast at the very front and then it's also got Cinderella
- 40:46Tiana on it. It also does have Anna and Elsa
- 40:50are Queens on there as well. So that is the very first thing
- 40:54that you will see. It is followed closely by the
- 40:57Tangled float that does have Rapunzel and Flynn Rider on it.
- 41:02After that, you will see Little Mermaid and Ariel and her tall
- 41:08shell pedestal with lots of bubbles flying around.
- 41:10I love the aerial float in this one as well.
- 41:13So next in the parade you will find the Sleeping Beauty unit.
- 41:16So that is where you will find Sleeping Beauty Prince Philip
- 41:20and the giant Maleficent dragon that I feel like everybody knows
- 41:23and loves from this Festival of Fantasy parade.
- 41:26You also get the fairies and all sorts of other fun things.
- 41:29So if you're a Sleeping Beauty person, this parade has a
- 41:31really, really great Sleeping Beauty section, which is super,
- 41:34super fun. But those are the princesses
- 41:38that you can see. You also can see a ton of other
- 41:39characters. Mickey and Minnie are in there.
- 41:41Pluto, Daisy, Donald, They've got a bunch of other fun
- 41:45characters that are wandering around on like ground level that
- 41:49are not featured on the float. So a really, really fun parade
- 41:52and a really, really fun way to see tons of characters if you
- 41:56are visiting Magic Kingdom. So if you don't have time to
- 41:59catch the daytime parade at Magic Kingdom, you can maybe
- 42:04catch the new nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom, which is
- 42:07Disney Starlight Dream the night away.
- 42:09This parade, I cannot say enough good things about it.
- 42:12It is absolutely fantastic. It runs every night at the Magic
- 42:17Kingdom unless it's a party night for Mickey's Not So Scary
- 42:21or Mickey's Very Merry. But it runs at least once every
- 42:25night at Magic Kingdom. Some nights it will run twice
- 42:28again, check those times. But this one has so many amazing
- 42:34floats and so many amazing characters.
- 42:37Just like the cavalcade we just talked about.
- 42:39But this is your full length parade.
- 42:41So in this one you're going to see Queen Elsa.
- 42:45You are also going to get to see a there's one large float in
- 42:50this parade that is all princesses on it that are
- 42:53dancing on there with their male counterparts.
- 42:55So you'll get to see Aurora and Prince Philip, you'll get to see
- 42:59Tiana and Naveen, you'll get to see Cinderella and Prince
- 43:02Charming, and you'll get to see Belle and the Beast.
- 43:05So all four of those exist on the designated Princess float.
- 43:11However, you also get to see Moana on her own float, which is
- 43:16absolutely amazing. And then on the very end of the
- 43:19parade, you get to see a couple other princesses that are on the
- 43:24last float with Mickey and Minnie and some other friends as
- 43:27well. But you will get to see Snow
- 43:29White on that float. You will get to see Rapunzel
- 43:32with Flynn Rider on that float, and Jasmine and Aladdin are on
- 43:36that float as well. So again, you've got 9
- 43:42princesses all in that Starlight parade.
- 43:47So if you've got kiddos or if you yourself are just like I
- 43:51just want to see the princesses. I don't necessarily need to meet
- 43:54them and get a picture and an autograph and those kinds of
- 43:56things. I just want to see them.
- 43:58This is a really great way to do it.
- 44:00The the show at Magic Kingdom, the Adventure Friends Cavalcade
- 44:04and this Disney Starlight Dream the Night Away parade, all
- 44:08fabulous ways to see tons of princesses.
- 44:12The last show I want to mention at Magic Kingdom is the
- 44:15nighttime fireworks show. And I'm not going to get into
- 44:19listing specifics because this nighttime fireworks show pulls
- 44:23from just about every Disney movie that you can imagine to be
- 44:28included in there. So every Princess that is on
- 44:32that original list of 13 that we listed off at the beginning is
- 44:36featured and represented either through the music or through a
- 44:39visual representation on the castle because they do all of
- 44:45that, you know, all of those amazing scenes and everything on
- 44:50the castle for the fireworks show.
- 44:52All of the princesses are in this.
- 44:54So if you just want to like see the Princess movies, hear the
- 44:59music, see them on the castle being projected.
- 45:02Those are some some a really great way to see that is to
- 45:07watch Happily Ever After. So again, I'm not going to get
- 45:10into specifics because I would be here all night trying to name
- 45:13off all of the scenes and all of the movies and all of the things
- 45:15that are featured on there. But just know that every
- 45:18Princess is featured in that Happily Ever After fireworks
- 45:21show. Before we get to our itineraries
- 45:25here, let's talk about dining at Magic Kingdoms.
- 45:28There are a couple options here at Magic Kingdom that are
- 45:31Princess related, so I'm going to talk about three of them,
- 45:36kind of give you the rundown and some a brief overview of them.
- 45:40The first one that I want to talk about is Be Our Guest.
- 45:43So this one is a little bit interesting in the fact that it
- 45:46is Beauty and the Beast themed, but you actually don't see Belle
- 45:52in this dining experience. So Belle is not featured in Be
- 45:55Our Guest. You will get to see the Beast,
- 45:57but the beast doesn't come to each table like a true character
- 46:01meal, so this one is a little bit interesting in that regards.
- 46:05It does take place inside of the beast's castle, so if you are a
- 46:10fan of the the imagery and the idea of being inside the castle,
- 46:15this is a really great option for you.
- 46:17But it is not a true character meal in that no characters come
- 46:23table to table to take photos with you.
- 46:26But you will get to see the Beast walkthrough.
- 46:28It is a prefix menu for lunch and dinner.
- 46:30It is $72 for adults and $43 for kids.
- 46:35So this one I struggle with a little bit because you're really
- 46:38paying that hefty price to eat in the Beast's castle and to get
- 46:44a glimpse of the beast walking through.
- 46:48Now if that sounds good to you, have at it.
- 46:51I hope you have so much fun for me.
- 46:55Don't know that I would go as far as paying that just for that
- 46:59experience. Obviously the food is good,
- 47:02you've got some great options there, but you have to kind of
- 47:05decide what's worth it for you. The next one is one of the most
- 47:10expensive character meals and experiences on Disney property
- 47:14and that is Cinderella's Royal Table.
- 47:16This one though is very, very popular and very, very hard to
- 47:21get a reservation for. I should mention that Be Our
- 47:24Guest is one that you will want to grab a reservation for.
- 47:27I do believe Be Our Guest does a walk up list, so take a look at
- 47:33that. If that's something that you
- 47:34want to do but you don't grab a reservation for it, take a look
- 47:38for that on your app. But let's go back to
- 47:41Cinderella's royal Table now. It is definitely when you are
- 47:43going to have to book ahead of time.
- 47:46They do not do any basically same day reservations for
- 47:51Cinderella's royal table, but you do get to eat inside the
- 47:54castle. It's an entire experience.
- 47:57Obviously it's very, very special to be able to go inside
- 48:01Cinderella Castle, to be able to eat your meal there and they are
- 48:06a prefix menu here as well. They do offer breakfast, lunch
- 48:10and dinner. So that at least helps because
- 48:12you have a wider range of times that you will be able to book if
- 48:16you do decide to try to do Cinderella's Royal Table.
- 48:19This experience is a true character dining experience.
- 48:23So again, very different from what we were just talking about
- 48:27with Be Our Guest. This one is the more traditional
- 48:29character meet and greet. So during this character
- 48:31experience, you will typically encounter several princesses.
- 48:36Most usually is going to be Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine and
- 48:42Ariel. Now you obviously will see
- 48:45Cinderella as well, but typically they have her as like
- 48:50a photo op on your way out. So she is not a character that
- 48:55roams, she is a character that you meet on your way out and
- 48:59there are several character tiny experiences that do that.
- 49:03Now is it possible that the day you go that Cinderella is
- 49:06walking around to tables instead of doing that?
- 49:09Yes, that is something that they do kind of switch on and off
- 49:14depending on the day. But usually speaking, she is one
- 49:18that you meet after you have finished your meal and you are
- 49:22on your way out. But this experience also is
- 49:25super, super magical. There's a whole little thing
- 49:28that they do about wishes and it's just just overall a very
- 49:33magical experience. As far as cost goes for this
- 49:36one, for breakfast you are looking at $76 for adults and
- 49:42$47 for kids. For lunch and dinner you are
- 49:46looking at $89.00 for adults and $54.00 for kids.
- 49:51So that price range like I said is on the higher end of things.
- 49:56Do keep in mind with this one also most Disney dining
- 50:00reservations you pay after you finish your meal.
- 50:03This one you actually prepaid for.
- 50:05So this is one that you have to do ahead of time and when you
- 50:09book it, you will purchase it. There are only a small number of
- 50:14restaurants that you have to do that for on Disney property, but
- 50:16this is one of them. So keep that in mind that that
- 50:20money will come out up front whenever you do.
- 50:22Book that online when you get up in the morning to do your ADR's
- 50:27for your trip. This one I kind of mentioned
- 50:29with BR Guess that I didn't know whether or not it was worth it.
- 50:31This one I think is fabulous if you have a Princess lover who
- 50:36really truly wants to meet these princesses.
- 50:38Again, character dining is a really great way to see as many
- 50:42princesses as you can without having to go to five different
- 50:46meet and greets. So again, you're going to see 5
- 50:48princesses at this location without having to go to five
- 50:52different character meet and greets.
- 50:53So definitely worth it for that and definitely worth it if you
- 50:57want the experience of eating inside the castle, right?
- 51:01It is a more pricey experience, so something you have to
- 51:04consider when you're budgeting and saving up for your trip.
- 51:07But you want to make sure that you you remember that that comes
- 51:12out ahead of time whenever you're booking.
- 51:13So the last dining experience that I want to talk about here
- 51:17that is somewhat Princess related is more akin to what we
- 51:20talked about with Be Our Guest and that is Gaston's Tavern.
- 51:23So again, it is Beauty and the Beast themed, but it is more
- 51:27themed to the Gaston storyline. It's doesn't really feature
- 51:30Belle. It's not really a Princess
- 51:33space. But I do just want to mention it
- 51:36in case you have a kiddo that really, really loves Beauty and
- 51:38the Beast and just wants to experience all the Beauty and
- 51:41the Beast things. So Gaston's Tavern is an option
- 51:44for that. It is a quick service restaurant
- 51:45that has a somewhat limited menu.
- 51:47They don't have a ton of offerings.
- 51:48It's not going to be a full quick service.
- 51:51As far as something like Cosmic Rays or Pinocchio's Village
- 51:57House or one of those, it really only has a few options in there
- 52:01and it doesn't have a ton of seedings, so keep that in mind.
- 52:04Items on that menu range anywhere from $7.00 ish to
- 52:08$11.00 ish. And they do have the infamous
- 52:11Gaston cinnamon roll here and they typically have a ham and
- 52:16cheese sandwich of some kind. Used to be on a pretzel roll.
- 52:19I heard recently that they just changed it again or changed it
- 52:23back, but that is a really great option for a themed quick
- 52:29service if you are a Beauty and the Beast fan.
- 52:32That is one that I would consider.
- 52:33Now the other thing that's super fun is the the little courtyard
- 52:39outside of there has a big fountain that's got Gaston on it
- 52:42and everything. So if you're not interested in
- 52:44eating there, it's definitely still a fun little area to walk
- 52:47through and not one that you necessarily will always walk
- 52:51through depending on where you're going in Fantasyland.
- 52:55So something to keep an eye out for as you're kind of taking
- 52:59some of those pathways back there.
- 53:01It's a fun little area to take a couple photos of and then go on
- 53:06with your day. So that kind of wraps up our
- 53:10options at Magic Kingdom, but let's talk about a few things at
- 53:15the resorts that are Princess themed before we jump into our
- 53:19itineraries that I have for you. So jumping over to some of the
- 53:23resorts now, there are some Princess themed rooms that I
- 53:26want to mention in this episode while we're talking all things
- 53:29princesses at Walt Disney World. So you actually have four
- 53:34different options that are Princess themed.
- 53:37The first that I'm going to talk about is the Port Orleans
- 53:41Riverside. That is a moderate resort at
- 53:44Disney and they have Tiana themed rooms.
- 53:47So these are their Princess. I remember if they're
- 53:50technically Princess suites, I think they are because I believe
- 53:53they are a fifth sleeper room, but they are all Tiana and and
- 53:57Princess and the frog themed. Those run about 4:50 to 550 a
- 54:05night on average depending on when you're there time of year.
- 54:10Any deals they may be running you can definitely find them for
- 54:13cheaper. I have found rooms at the Port
- 54:15Orleans resorts to be closer to 300 if you can find a good deal,
- 54:19but generally speaking they run about 4:50 to 5:50 per night and
- 54:24those are Tiana themed. If you're looking on the value
- 54:27side, your option is to go over to the Art of Animation, which I
- 54:32would consider kind of like a value plus because these are
- 54:35these rooms are some of the most expensive standard rooms at the
- 54:38value resorts. And those are The Little Mermaid
- 54:40rooms. So they have a whole section
- 54:43there that is 3 buildings, I believe, of all Little Mermaid
- 54:47themed rooms. They're adorable, but they're
- 54:49just a standard size room over there.
- 54:52And again, these are some of the most expensive standard size
- 54:56value rooms because you've got all of the All Stars and Pop
- 55:00Century that also have these rooms.
- 55:02But these are anywhere from about 260 to 400 a night on
- 55:07average, depending on when you're going and what time of
- 55:10year, how busy it is, those types of things.
- 55:12They're going to be closer to that $300 range typically for
- 55:16those Little Mermaid themed rooms.
- 55:19Two more Princess themed rooms. The next one is at the
- 55:22Polynesian Resort. This is a deluxe resort, so it
- 55:26is on the higher end of cost wise.
- 55:28And these are Moana themed rooms.
- 55:31These are newly re themed over at the Polynesian, but they are
- 55:36all Moana themed. They have little touches of
- 55:39Moana things on the wall and the bedding and the pillows and
- 55:43those kinds of things all have little touches of Moana theming
- 55:47to them. And these rooms are they start
- 55:50around 885 a night. So again, this is that deluxe
- 55:54range and it goes up from there depending on your view choice.
- 55:57So you've got like resort view, water view, theme park view, and
- 56:02those are all kind of different categories and different price
- 56:05ranges. But generally speaking, around
- 56:07885 a night for those Moana themed rooms at the Polynesian.
- 56:12And then the last one is also another option for a Moana
- 56:16themed room and that is a Caribbean Beach, which is a
- 56:18moderate resort. So if you want a Moana themed
- 56:21room, but the Polynesian is not quite the price range you're
- 56:24looking for, consider Caribbean Beach.
- 56:27It is a moderate resort, is a very large moderate resort, lots
- 56:31of rooms. It's on the sky liner, great
- 56:32location. Those are generally speaking,
- 56:35330 to 470 and night depending on, again, when you go and how
- 56:41busy it is and what deals are available and all those types of
- 56:44things. So those are your options if you
- 56:47want to stay in a Princess themed room.
- 56:51I am someone that when I visit Disney with my kids, I don't
- 56:54really care care where I stay. I just look for the best deal
- 56:58because we don't spend a ton of time in the room.
- 57:02We're usually in the parks. So consider whether or not it's
- 57:05worth it. If you're planning to do a
- 57:07couple resort days, definitely look into what the those resorts
- 57:12have to offer. If your kiddos love to swim and
- 57:16love to visit the pools on your resort days, do keep in mind
- 57:21that moderates and deluxes will have those like water slides and
- 57:25splash pads and extra kind of extras with that.
- 57:30Art of Animation has a really great pool, but it's not doesn't
- 57:34have a water slide and some of the other features that some of
- 57:36the other ones do. So definitely look at the
- 57:38accommodations that those resorts have to offer for their
- 57:41guests before making any of those decisions and decide, you
- 57:45know how much time you think you're actually going to spend
- 57:47at your resort before you you splurge on a Princess room just
- 57:51because it's a Princess room. We'll leave it at that. 2
- 57:55character dining options that I do want to mention at the
- 57:58resorts. Just for your information, if
- 58:00you do have a non parks day or a resort day that you're planning
- 58:04or you know that one morning you're going to take a couple
- 58:08hours and do a character meal that's not in a park or whatever
- 58:12your your itinerary looks like, there are two options.
- 58:16The first of them being 1900 park fair.
- 58:20This is a newly reopened version of this and when they reopened
- 58:26it, they changed the characters that are here.
- 58:29So Princess wise, you can meet Cinderella and you can meet
- 58:33Tiana here. Now do keep in mind that this
- 58:36version of Tiana is actually Tiana's Bayou Adventure Tiana,
- 58:42so keep that in mind again. And then Cinderella is there as
- 58:47well. There are other characters, but
- 58:48those are your princesses that you have there.
- 58:50This is a buffet style, which is a nice option.
- 58:54For breakfast, you are looking at $58 for adults and $37 for
- 59:01kids. For dinner, still a buffet
- 59:03option, you're looking at $69.00 for adults and a $44 per kid and
- 59:09those are pretty average character meal prices for that
- 59:13one. So that is 1900 Park Fair.
- 59:16The other option that is a character dining that has
- 59:20princesses at it is storybook dining at Artists Point.
- 59:25So this is kind of different experience because it has some
- 59:28different characters, but it does have Snow White.
- 59:31So Snow White is your main Princess that is here.
- 59:34It typically usually has Grumpy and Dopey.
- 59:37I believe with Snow White over here, it is a prefix menu.
- 59:42So it is not a buffet, which is why I kind of like 1900 Park
- 59:45Fair a little bit better because buffets.
- 59:47I feel like with kids especially, you're more likely
- 59:50to get your money's worth and they only do dinner.
- 59:54So this one is a little challenging to get and you do
- 59:56want reservations for both 1900 Park Fair and for storybook
- 1:00:00dining at artist point for dinner.
- 1:00:02The cost wise that you're looking at is $68 for adults and
- 1:00:0743 for kids. So right on par with what we.
- 1:00:10Just said for a 1900 park fair, but those are your resort
- 1:00:14options for character meals. If you want to see a Princess,
- 1:00:18those are your two that you're going to want to look at.
- 1:00:20So I think that gives you all of as much information as I could
- 1:00:25possibly put together in one episode for your places and
- 1:00:30spaces. You can find princesses in the
- 1:00:32parks and at the resorts. Let's talk just briefly now
- 1:00:35about what I suggest for itineraries.
- 1:00:39OK, so the way that I kind of thought that this would make
- 1:00:43sense is I looked at kind of different priorities for your
- 1:00:48day based on if you want to see princesses as characters, if you
- 1:00:55want to see them featured on rides or if you want to see
- 1:00:59shows. OK.
- 1:01:01So I kind of kept them in the categories that we have been
- 1:01:03talking about for each park. So if your priority is
- 1:01:08characters, you want to meet them as characters, you want to
- 1:01:11take pictures, you want to be able to do autographs, those
- 1:01:14types of things. You are best options for park or
- 1:01:17Epcot and Magic Kingdom, which shouldn't be a surprise after we
- 1:01:20just went through that list that those are your top options.
- 1:01:24So if I were you, I would start at Magic Kingdom because many of
- 1:01:29the character meet and greets at Epcot don't open until a little
- 1:01:35bit later. So I would choose to park hop
- 1:01:38between these two. I would start at Magic Kingdom
- 1:01:42and I would do Princess Fairy tale Hall first.
- 1:01:44I would start with the Cinderella side because the
- 1:01:47Cinderella side tends to get a longer line than the other side
- 1:01:51just because. So when you get there, you're
- 1:01:55going to go to Princess Fairy Tale Hall first.
- 1:01:57You're going to meet Cinderella and whoever her friend is that
- 1:02:01is visiting over on that side. Often times it's Snow White.
- 1:02:05And then I would get, once you have finished that line in that
- 1:02:09round that I would get on the other side and do the Tiana side
- 1:02:13of that, which is typically Tiana and Rapunzel.
- 1:02:16I would do them next and then from there I would go to the
- 1:02:20aerial meet and greet which is right by her ride and then I
- 1:02:24would go over and do Jasmine. If the aerial meet and greet has
- 1:02:28not opened yet then I would do Jasmine 1st and then hop over to
- 1:02:32Ariel. So it depending on timing and
- 1:02:34how long those lines take will kind of gear you towards that
- 1:02:38either way. So Princess Fairy Tale Hall,
- 1:02:42then either Jasmine, then Ariel or swap that depending on
- 1:02:47timing. After that, if you're at Magic
- 1:02:50Kingdom, I would hit a few of the rides that we mentioned.
- 1:02:53You could easily do the carousel.
- 1:02:54You can easily do Little Mermaid while you're over there.
- 1:02:59You can definitely do the magic carpets of Aladdin or Tiana's
- 1:03:02Bayou Adventure. All of those are going to be
- 1:03:04fine to do in the morning. The only tricky one would be 7
- 1:03:07floors mine train. If you are prioritizing
- 1:03:10characters, you're probably not going to get on that ride unless
- 1:03:13you buy an individual lightning lane for that one.
- 1:03:15After that, then I would head over to Epcot to jump on the
- 1:03:18monorail and head over there and you're going to just work your
- 1:03:22way through World Showcase in whatever direction you choose.
- 1:03:26Most of the characters meet fairly regularly between about
- 1:03:3111:00 AM and 4:00 PM around World Showcase.
- 1:03:34But again, be sure to check your times the day of.
- 1:03:38Now, I've said that a lot this episode, and here is the time in
- 1:03:42this episode where I remind you about our good friend Kirk's new
- 1:03:46theme park app that we saw just a few episodes ago called Mode
- 1:03:50MOWD. It is a fabulous theme park app
- 1:03:53that you can utilize to help you look up these times.
- 1:03:56It's got all of your characters listed in it.
- 1:03:58You can add them to your planning itinerary in that app
- 1:04:02and that will help you kind of keep it organized in what order
- 1:04:05you think you want to go to all of these.
- 1:04:08And then you can check it off as you go.
- 1:04:09So highly, highly suggest downloading mode to help you
- 1:04:14plan out the order in which you would visit these characters
- 1:04:17because that's going to help you keep it all organized.
- 1:04:20If you're anything like me, you want that list and you want to
- 1:04:23be able to check them off when you're done.
- 1:04:24So the times are on there. Check those times to make sure.
- 1:04:28But again, like I said, generally speaking, they meet
- 1:04:32between the hours of 11 and four fairly regularly, and we went
- 1:04:36through that list at Epcot earlier.
- 1:04:38So work your way around World Showcase, whichever way you so
- 1:04:41choose. Once you're done with those
- 1:04:43characters, I'd grab a bite to eat.
- 1:04:45Maybe if you're really super lucky, you can grab an Akershus
- 1:04:47reservation around 5:00 or 6:00 PM.
- 1:04:51And then after you have done that and met all those
- 1:04:54characters, if I were you, I'd hop back on the monorail, go
- 1:04:59back to Magic Kingdom and watch the Starlight parade because
- 1:05:02you're going to get to see all of those princesses again at the
- 1:05:04end of the night in that Starlight Parade.
- 1:05:07So that is how I would spend my day if I were looking to see as
- 1:05:11many characters as possible that are princesses.
- 1:05:15Start at Magic Kingdom, hop to Epcot in the afternoon, and then
- 1:05:19end back at Magic Kingdom for the parade.
- 1:05:21Now if rides are your priority, I would stick to Magic Kingdom
- 1:05:26because Magic Kingdom has the most rides that are Princess
- 1:05:31themed and really Magic Kingdom and Epcot are the only two that
- 1:05:35do Epcot's got Frozen and that Milano walkthrough that we
- 1:05:39talked about. So you could add that into the
- 1:05:41mix, but I would really just stay in Magic Kingdom.
- 1:05:45If you're trying to hit all of those rides that are Princess
- 1:05:48themed and Princess adjacent like we talked about, I would
- 1:05:51rope drop 7 Dwarfs Mine Train because that one's going to have
- 1:05:53the longest line. Or I would grab an individual
- 1:05:55whitening lane for it if that's within your budget.
- 1:05:58Then I would head to the Prince Charming Regal Carousel, circle
- 1:06:02back to Under the Sea, the Journey of The Little Mermaid,
- 1:06:05and then I would head over to the Frontierland Adventureland
- 1:06:08side of the park and hit Tiana's Bayou Adventure and the Magic
- 1:06:11Carpets of Aladdin. Now that list of five rides in
- 1:06:17that order, you're probably going to have that done well
- 1:06:20before lunchtime. So after that, I would plan on
- 1:06:23eating lunch, grabbing some food.
- 1:06:25You could maybe look at getting Cinderella's Royal Table if
- 1:06:29that's within your budget. You could also look at the Our
- 1:06:32Guest if that's your vibe. Or just stop by Gaston's for a
- 1:06:35cinnamon roll or ham and cheese sandwich after that.
- 1:06:37And then I would look at those character meet and greets
- 1:06:40because you are going to be nearby where all of those are
- 1:06:42happening. You maybe jump into line at
- 1:06:45Princess Fairy Tale Hall because it's an inside line that's in
- 1:06:48the air conditioning and maybe you want to break from being out
- 1:06:50in the heat during the afternoon when it's super hot outside.
- 1:06:54The line on the Tiana side typically sits around 20 to 30
- 1:06:57minutes, which really isn't terrible for getting 2
- 1:06:59princesses on that side. You could also look at the
- 1:07:03parades and the shows that we talked about at Magic Kingdom
- 1:07:05because there are tons of options there as well.
- 1:07:08You could catch the second version or the second run
- 1:07:11through of the Adventure Friends Cavalcade.
- 1:07:14Definitely catch the stage show, the Magical Friendship Fair
- 1:07:17stage show and plan to do the fireworks and the parade in the
- 1:07:22evening time. So that would be my suggestion.
- 1:07:25If you are ride focused, I would just stick to Magic Kingdom and
- 1:07:30run through those rides in the morning and then you've got your
- 1:07:32afternoon and evening to grab the shows and characters and and
- 1:07:37kind of enjoy the rest of your afternoon.
- 1:07:38For that. If you're going to do
- 1:07:41specifically shows, I would do Magic Kingdom and Hollywood
- 1:07:46Studios. Hollywood Studios really has
- 1:07:48some of the best shows when it comes to princesses and again,
- 1:07:53the Queen's Anna and Elsa, but check those performance times to
- 1:07:57make sure you're making good choices.
- 1:07:58Again, utilizing mode for those performance times is so easy.
- 1:08:02It's right in that entertainment tab for you on their map feature
- 1:08:06or under the Discover feature on that app as well.
- 1:08:09If I were you, I would start at Hollywood Studios.
- 1:08:11I would start with the Beauty and the Beast stage show, then I
- 1:08:15would hit the Frozen Sing along and then Little Mermaid after
- 1:08:18that. So those three options would be
- 1:08:21what I would hit. You could also, and I didn't
- 1:08:23mention this earlier, with Hollywood Studios, there is a
- 1:08:26villains show there as well that you could do.
- 1:08:29It is Princess adjacent, but it is not.
- 1:08:33It does not feature any princesses, but it's a really
- 1:08:36great show and I really highly recommend that you do it if you
- 1:08:40are a show person. So Beating the Beast, Frozen,
- 1:08:43Sing Along, Little Mermaid, fill in show if you want to and then
- 1:08:46head over to Magic Kingdom. Could hit the afternoon parade,
- 1:08:49hit some meet and greets over there, do the shows over there
- 1:08:52and then plan to watch the parade in the evening as well.
- 1:08:58So that is kind of my show suggestion for you.
- 1:09:02If you are planning to do food that is related to the
- 1:09:06princesses, you really kind of just want to couple that with
- 1:09:10one of the other things that you want to do.
- 1:09:12So maybe you do rides and food, or maybe you do shows and food
- 1:09:14or characters and food. I highly suggest 1900 Park Fair.
- 1:09:18That is a really great option for a resort day if you want to
- 1:09:22eat there just because it's a buffet.
- 1:09:25Like I said, when you're going with kids to those character
- 1:09:27experiences, I really feel like buffets you get the most for
- 1:09:31your money. So I highly suggest that one.
- 1:09:34Obviously, you could do the storybook dining as well for
- 1:09:38dinner if you chose to. And then again, Epcot for Auchus
- 1:09:42or Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom are going to be
- 1:09:45your best food options for your Princess day at Disney World.
- 1:09:50I think with all of that information kind of thrown your
- 1:09:54way, that is where we are going to wrap up this episode today.
