- 0:00Okay, let's unpack this. We all know the world
- 0:02needs to go green, but there's this huge challenge.
- 0:05It's not about the vision. It's the execution.
- 0:07It's always the execution. Right. How do leaders
- 0:09and businesses actually accelerate this shift
- 0:12without, you know, getting bogged down in just
- 0:14theory and more commitments? And that is the
- 0:17exact barrier we're going to talk about today.
- 0:18We're doing a deep dive into the World Green
- 0:21Economy Organization or WGEO and their new effort.
- 0:25What's the official title? It's titled World
- 0:27Green Economy Organization launches the Green
- 0:30Circles platform to achieve a low carbon future.
- 0:32Green Circle. So what is that exactly? Is it
- 0:35a conference? a new tool, or what are we looking
- 0:37at here? Think of it more as an action engine.
- 0:40Its real goal is to unify the visions of leaders,
- 0:43policymakers, business leaders, everyone, really,
- 0:47to create some meaningful change. Unifying visions.
- 0:50And crucially, it focuses on these strategic
- 0:52partnerships between the public and private sectors.
- 0:54It's about turning policy into, well... Actual
- 0:57investment. OK, so that immediately hits on that
- 1:00theory versus practice gap we were talking about.
- 1:03Sound like green circles is meant to be the blueprint.
- 1:06It is. It provides a practical framework. And
- 1:09look, they've already put out two white papers
- 1:12with actionable solutions, clear roadmaps for
- 1:15businesses. So they're not waiting around. Not
- 1:17at all. And to really get the strategic thinking
- 1:19behind it, you have to hear it from the top.
- 1:21From His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayr,
- 1:25the chairman of World Green Economy Organization,
- 1:27he really laid out the vision. His Excellency
- 1:30Sayyid Mohammed Altair said, the Green Circles
- 1:33platform represents a practical embodiment of
- 1:35our strategic vision to lead the global transition
- 1:38towards a resilient green economy. We seek to
- 1:41build innovative dialogue mechanisms that connect
- 1:44policy, investment, and innovation, translating
- 1:47global trends into tangible outcomes. Through
- 1:50this initiative, we aim to strengthen partnerships
- 1:53that accelerate the transition to a green economy,
- 1:55keep pace with the rapid momentum of climate
- 1:58action, and support the UN's sustainable development
- 2:00goals at both regional and global levels. Ultimately,
- 2:04we seek to empower an integrated, partnership
- 2:07-driven system to achieve a low -carbon future.
- 2:10that's a powerful intent translating global trends
- 2:13into tangible outcomes that's the key phrase
- 2:15for me right there. It is. It's all about that
- 2:17connection. And he added to that, really emphasizing
- 2:20the cooperation aspect. What did he add? His
- 2:22Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayyar added, the
- 2:25initiative underscores world green economy organizations'
- 2:29pivotal role in strengthening cooperation between
- 2:31the public and private sectors, creating an interactive,
- 2:35results -driven dialogue environment, and accelerating
- 2:37the transition towards an inclusive and sustainable
- 2:40green economy through effective partnerships
- 2:42and knowledge exchange. If that's the framework,
- 2:46where have they started putting it into practice?
- 2:48You said they've already been busy. They have.
- 2:49WGEO has already organized two major sessions
- 2:52to get this going. Okay. Where and with who?
- 2:55So the first one was very significant. It was
- 2:57with the American Business Council in Dubai.
- 2:59And they held it at the Dubai Electricity and
- 3:02Water Authority Sustainability and Innovation
- 3:04Center. That's a big deal. You've got global
- 3:06commerce and critical city infrastructure in
- 3:10the same room from day one. Exactly. And then
- 3:12the second session aims for an even broader impact.
- 3:15It was with Dubai Chambers during the World Green
- 3:18Economy Summit 2025. So you bring in the American
- 3:21business interests, then you bring in the entire
- 3:23local commerce body. The signal seems to be that
- 3:26this framework applies to everyone. That's the
- 3:29idea. And the output from these meetings wasn't
- 3:32just, you know, a summary of the conversation.
- 3:34Right. It was the white papers you mentioned.
- 3:35What did they focus on? The titles really tell
- 3:37the story. The first is accelerating the transition
- 3:39to responsible business. OK, so that's about
- 3:42internal change. Correct. And the second is enabling
- 3:45the sustainability ecosystem for responsible
- 3:47business. So that one looks at all the external
- 3:50support you need, the financing, the policy,
- 3:53the tech. So it's a complete playbook. It's not
- 3:56just about compliance. It's. Defining what a
- 3:59responsible business actually looks like in practice.
- 4:02Precisely. And if you step back, you can see
- 4:04this is central to WGEO's whole strategy. They're
- 4:08moving from just being thought leaders to providing
- 4:11practical tools that anyone can pick up and use.
- 4:14It's about building a toolbox. Yeah. And they
- 4:15have a call to action, right, for our listeners.
- 4:18A very clear one. They are actively looking for
- 4:21partners. That means government entities, private
- 4:24companies, universities, international organizations,
- 4:27anyone really. To host more of these sessions
- 4:30and expand the platform. Yes. Build this out
- 4:32globally and achieve what they're calling a more
- 4:35prosperous and sustainable green future. Which
- 4:38brings up a final thought, and this one is for
- 4:40you listening. What challenge or opportunity
- 4:42from your own sector could be tackled by joining
- 4:44a global dialogue like Green Circles? It's something
- 4:47to really think about.
