- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a lily Pad production.
- 0:05Speaker 2: This is the Team Up Play Show podcast.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Previously in the City of Bones.
- 0:42Speaker 2: In a hidden laboratory on the northernmost point of town
- 0:48Speaker 2: where city abruptly becomes desert Quanta, your father is tied
- 0:56Speaker 2: to a chair and struck in the freshly bruised face.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Next to your father's chair is a bucket for waist too.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Close to that is a plate with an old sandwich
- 1:09Speaker 2: on it. And in the lab there is a table
- 1:15Speaker 2: with a day woman strapped on it. Her limbs are
- 1:19Speaker 2: pulled off and strapped down. Her complex inner tubing is exposed,
- 1:24Speaker 2: and a broken device that one might wear on their
- 1:29Speaker 2: shoulders is sitting next to her on the table, attached
- 1:33Speaker 2: to a day spine. She goes up to the baby
- 1:41Speaker 2: grand piano in the front hall. She plays six notes
- 1:47Speaker 2: in a specific rhythm. One of the mahogany pillars shifts
- 1:52Speaker 2: a stairwell down down past what you might know is
- 1:57Speaker 2: the basement. Jamir, you should go first. As you walk
- 2:09Speaker 2: by her, she grabs an enormous switch, flips it up.
- 2:19Speaker 2: You come around the ben Jamir as concrete stare turns
- 2:25Speaker 2: in to stone and brick, and then to earth lights
- 2:33Speaker 2: come on six different pedestals, holding different iterations of the
- 2:43Speaker 2: ever wing suit. The ever wing suits shimmer brightly in
- 3:11Speaker 2: the beams of piercing light. Their empty eyes stare in
- 3:17Speaker 2: an eternal scowl, daring the ghosts of older evils to
- 3:23Speaker 2: peek their heads out in risk of being set upon
- 3:28Speaker 2: by the ever watching everwing. The first suit is shoddy
- 3:35Speaker 2: and ragged painted leather held together by laces and straps.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Its form is vaguely feminine, and the helm and wings
- 3:47Speaker 2: droop from use. After that, there is a drastic upgrade
- 3:53Speaker 2: in technology, visible clunky gears, power, unenhanced, and heavy exo
- 4:00Speaker 2: skeleton made of iron and steel. There are two like this,
- 4:06Speaker 2: dark gray and in a male shape, with snatching talons
- 4:11Speaker 2: sprouting from the boots. The following and final three suits
- 4:17Speaker 2: shines silver and gold. Each is more sleek and elegant
- 4:22Speaker 2: than the last, long metal wings that brush the ground,
- 4:29Speaker 2: light yet sturdy armor, impossibly pieced together, a pronounced silver
- 4:37Speaker 2: helm that sprouts smaller wings accented by opal and alabaster,
- 4:44Speaker 2: small and dangerous claws shaped like lightning in the gloves
- 4:49Speaker 2: and the boots. The male shape is lost in these
- 4:54Speaker 2: three for a distinctly feminine shape that inspires thoughts of
- 4:59Speaker 2: the grace flight of the swan and the vicious hunting
- 5:03Speaker 2: flight of the falcon. You feel here on this hollowed
- 5:10Speaker 2: ground the presence of a hero of the founding age.
- 5:18Speaker 3: V ev A way, Jamir, what the hell you didn't
- 5:41Speaker 3: tell us you were ever Wing?
- 5:47Speaker 4: I put my hand on the glass, ignoring Jason for
- 5:51Speaker 4: a moment, my eyes lock with the masked visage in
- 5:59Speaker 4: front of me. She never told me, She never told
- 6:11Speaker 4: any of us my grandma was everwing, or was one
- 6:24Speaker 4: of the ever wings. That makes sense. You turn around
- 6:35Speaker 4: and Jason is wearing the leather masks.
- 6:41Speaker 2: What come on that?
- 6:42Speaker 1: Look you?
- 6:43Speaker 2: This is? This is These are my grandma's clothes.
- 6:47Speaker 3: You don't.
- 6:47Speaker 4: You don't go any someone's grandma's house and put on
- 6:50Speaker 4: their clothes.
- 6:51Speaker 1: But look, look there's some beautiful they're like begging to
- 6:54Speaker 1: be put on. Don't tell me you don't.
- 6:55Speaker 5: Want to put on one of them. This is, I
- 6:57Speaker 5: don't know, the least nice one. You should try to
- 7:00Speaker 5: look at this one. I point to the one with
- 7:02Speaker 5: the lightning clause. Oh, she's so beautiful. Come on, let
- 7:06Speaker 5: me let me can I can?
- 7:07Speaker 4: I belave no, no, no, no. We have to figure
- 7:10Speaker 4: out what's going on. And I don't want to no disrespect,
- 7:14Speaker 4: but damage. These these are antiques.
- 7:17Speaker 1: These what like like sixty years makes an anty.
- 7:21Speaker 4: This is a part of superhero history, a big part,
- 7:26Speaker 4: maybe the biggest that we have in physical remains.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Maria steps forward into the light and says, there's something
- 7:39Speaker 2: that might help. She heads over to the wall. So
- 7:44Speaker 2: I'll describe the layout a little bit here. Where the
- 7:47Speaker 2: suits are are to the left of how you came
- 7:49Speaker 2: down the stairwell, and then beyond the suits there is
- 7:53Speaker 2: a dip into a enormous tunnel. On the ceiling of
- 7:58Speaker 2: that tunnel are uh the pneumatic tubes that run through
- 8:02Speaker 2: this part of the city.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Wait, like we just see them running through where we
- 8:08Speaker 1: can see an entrance, an entrance of what like, sorry,
- 8:13Speaker 1: is there a deposit? Can we can we put something?
- 8:16Speaker 3: You just see them running up? This is? This is?
- 8:19Speaker 1: Uh?
- 8:20Speaker 3: This would be.
- 8:22Speaker 2: There's a deep underground like tunnel system that gives access
- 8:26Speaker 2: to parts where the pneumatic tubes might break, and there
- 8:30Speaker 2: would be I think, honestly, I'll take that back. I
- 8:34Speaker 2: think there would be a special offshoot that comes off
- 8:39Speaker 2: and goes over your heads to stuff to the right
- 8:45Speaker 2: side of this cave, which is an enormous computer in
- 8:50Speaker 2: the wall. Dug into the cave, there's this huge tube screen,
- 8:55Speaker 2: a slew of buttons and switches that activate the different
- 9:00Speaker 2: functions of this monster computer. Maria goes over there and
- 9:05Speaker 2: there's a button. There's a little piece of tape that says,
- 9:09Speaker 2: just push this, and there's a little button there that
- 9:12Speaker 2: she pushes and the screen comes to life, and Jimir,
- 9:20Speaker 2: you see Zara Dodd, your grandma, beautiful old black woman
- 9:27Speaker 2: with curled silver hair, and she starts speaking. You hear
- 9:35Speaker 2: her voice through the speaker also in the wall. Hey there,
- 9:40Speaker 2: star Ed, Well, if you're watching this, the secret's out. Huh.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Cynthia was instructed to wait until she thought you were
- 9:50Speaker 2: ready to show you this part of my history.
- 9:53Speaker 3: You look over at Maria and she mouths.
- 9:56Speaker 2: My mom as, Cynthia, I trust your instincts, so don't
- 10:01Speaker 2: you dare put on one of those suits, until she says.
- 10:05Speaker 3: I've put on another piece wall. When we're watching the video,
- 10:08Speaker 3: I'm wearing like the wings are just dragging on the floor.
- 10:10Speaker 1: You give thumbs up.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Kill this, She continues, Also Jamir I don't want to
- 10:18Speaker 2: force my path onto you, So if the suit isn't
- 10:22Speaker 2: for you, I trust you and Cynthia to find out
- 10:25Speaker 2: who it's for. The world needs heroes, Jamir, the city
- 10:30Speaker 2: needs heroes. I'll answer what questions I could guess that
- 10:35Speaker 2: you'll ask, So here goes. I tried for a very
- 10:42Speaker 2: long time to gain some insight into magic. When the
- 10:46Speaker 2: Evos were still on the earth, there was so much
- 10:49Speaker 2: wonder and people were reaching for stars and for the spirit.
- 10:55Speaker 2: There were other people who found power through the magics
- 11:00Speaker 2: of this world.
- 11:01Speaker 3: And never let anybody tell you that everybody was just
- 11:04Speaker 3: an emo.
- 11:04Speaker 2: That's not true. Yeah, I studied, I studied, I tried,
- 11:10Speaker 2: and I tried, but I couldn't do it. I didn't
- 11:13Speaker 2: have the spark, I guess, no matter how many spells
- 11:17Speaker 2: I memorized or rituals I practiced. But that wasn't going
- 11:22Speaker 2: to stop your grandma from being one of the greatest
- 11:25Speaker 2: heroes of the age.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Some mere smiles broadly. So I made a suit. It's
- 11:33Speaker 3: it's fashioned after.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Some of our ancestors and people laughed at me at
- 11:41Speaker 2: first that that first suit is laughable. I just keep
- 11:44Speaker 2: it around for posterity. No You're not the poutity quiet.
- 11:52Speaker 2: I was then approached by a benefactor, a benefactor who
- 11:57Speaker 2: offered me, offered to take my designs and make me
- 12:01Speaker 2: something better, and that's where the next two suits came from.
- 12:06Speaker 2: My benefactor thought that the mail shape would help my
- 12:10Speaker 2: hero image, thought it would help people to trust me.
- 12:13Speaker 2: I don't know what you think, but I think those
- 12:15Speaker 2: two are scarier than even the first one.
- 12:18Speaker 3: But whatever, he had the money, I needed it.
- 12:22Speaker 2: But when the Range and War Hero came to New Babbel,
- 12:27Speaker 2: it became a little more normalized to be a woman
- 12:31Speaker 2: and a hero. So I asked for a rebrand, and
- 12:35Speaker 2: that's when the true Everwing was born. That's when my
- 12:40Speaker 2: benefactor made the Everhart, which allowed me to be faster, stronger,
- 12:45Speaker 2: and lighter than ever before. It should still be there somewhere.
- 12:48Speaker 2: It's not supposed to ever die.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Everard. I love you, Jimmy.
- 12:56Speaker 2: You get to decide now if your obsession with hero
- 13:00Speaker 2: is a hobby or a calling. You can sit in
- 13:05Speaker 2: the comfort and escape of your dreaming, or you can
- 13:08Speaker 2: take the fucking hint and fight.
- 13:12Speaker 3: She winks.
- 13:14Speaker 2: I think I already know what you're gonna choose. I
- 13:21Speaker 2: love your star id, I love you, Granny, and the
- 13:27Speaker 2: screen who goes out wow, and Maria says, yeah, So
- 13:36Speaker 2: that's why I was worried. My mom was supposed to
- 13:40Speaker 2: greet you and supposed to help you and show you
- 13:44Speaker 2: down here one day it wasn't meant to be me.
- 13:48Speaker 2: And she told me that I was supposed to wait
- 13:52Speaker 2: till you're ready. But I don't exactly know what that means.
- 13:55Speaker 4: I'm only okay, it's okay, But this next question I
- 13:59Speaker 4: asked you, Yeah, I'm gonna need the full truth sure,
- 14:04Speaker 4: or all of us could be in big danger. How
- 14:11Speaker 4: many people know about this place? And who are they?
- 14:19Speaker 4: The only people that knew about this place are me,
- 14:25Speaker 4: my mom, and ever Wing's compatriots when they were all heroes.
- 14:32Speaker 3: And now we know I'm wearing like a full like
- 14:35Speaker 3: corset of armor.
- 14:36Speaker 2: At this point, Maria looks at you and just like
- 14:40Speaker 2: she said, not to wear that until you're ready.
- 14:43Speaker 3: It's very supportive.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Though he's not. He's a fool. What about this benefactor?
- 14:52Speaker 4: Who was this? Who was this person that was funding
- 14:57Speaker 4: and helping build these things? And presumed the person who
- 15:01Speaker 4: got us got her this house?
- 15:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I was never told I'm curious
- 15:08Speaker 2: and she's telling the truth. Yeah, go ahead and roll.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Oh by the way, listeners, we're still in the beta
- 15:14Speaker 2: of Team Up, and I have changed I have changed.
- 15:20Speaker 1: The depths of that beta.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I have changed the vision uh skill two since because
- 15:27Speaker 2: it covers a lot more than just your sight. I
- 15:31Speaker 2: like that, So roll a sense check, Jamir. That's a
- 15:35Speaker 2: that's a chunky four for Jamir. Hey, I'm rolling an average,
- 15:40Speaker 2: rolling an average check. So I'm only a D eight.
- 15:43Speaker 3: You are in.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I rolled a seven. You're not certain if she's telling
- 15:47Speaker 2: the truth or not. She sounds as sincere.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I'm curious about this ever hurt she mentioned, and I
- 15:55Speaker 1: want to scan the place with new eyes, looking for
- 15:59Speaker 1: like as strong source of power.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Yeah, roll a sense check. I like sense Good ones, Johnny.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Ten ten.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I rolled as good as I could. I rolled a
- 16:12Speaker 2: six on a ten. There's a lot you gain here.
- 16:15Speaker 2: There is on either side of this supercomputer in the wall,
- 16:22Speaker 2: there are two curved doorways that don't actually have doors,
- 16:27Speaker 2: but they're just entryways into a back room that's fully
- 16:31Speaker 2: electric or fully set up with electricity. There are lights
- 16:36Speaker 2: and air condition and anything else you would need. And
- 16:39Speaker 2: then there are offshooting rooms from that. This is a
- 16:42Speaker 2: full kind of living space down here. And you do
- 16:47Speaker 2: sense the suits. I think the first the first three
- 16:52Speaker 2: just don't have Yes, the first three just don't have
- 16:56Speaker 2: much electricity or power running through them. But the final
- 17:00Speaker 2: three you sense a lot of pathways in those that
- 17:06Speaker 2: would simulate the human movement systems. And then you do
- 17:14Speaker 2: sense an immense powerful source of energy. It is electric
- 17:21Speaker 2: and it's not. It's different, but it's giving off so
- 17:25Speaker 2: much power, and it is.
- 17:26Speaker 1: There's a locked drawer here like where, just like by
- 17:32Speaker 1: the computer. I make the last three suits point at
- 17:36Speaker 1: that drawer. I think it's in there.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Do you mind, jamyr may I as I'm still wearing
- 17:44Speaker 3: like a bunch of armor, trying to now be polite,
- 17:47Speaker 3: and I pointed the drawer. I form a little key
- 17:49Speaker 3: out of paper.
- 17:52Speaker 4: No, no, Maria, give me the give me the real key.
- 17:55Speaker 4: I don't want to jam up this lock with the
- 17:58Speaker 4: paper key, right, I think they left me the keys.
- 18:04Speaker 4: I'll go see she runs upstairs.
- 18:08Speaker 1: I don't follow her physically, what I keep my sense
- 18:12Speaker 1: open to her to see where she goes.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Yeah, she's rustling around in her basement apartment. I guess
- 18:18Speaker 2: I'll just put my hand on the desk to see
- 18:20Speaker 2: if there's any paper in there in the drawer. Go
- 18:23Speaker 2: ahead and roll a sense check. Yeah, that's a twelve
- 18:28Speaker 2: for paper.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Fantal.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Wow, you guys are sensy, very fun. I was only
- 18:35Speaker 2: going to give you this on a successful roll, and
- 18:37Speaker 2: you beat me by five. Not much paper here, but
- 18:41Speaker 2: one weakness and there's not much paper, a lack of paper,
- 18:47Speaker 2: and also water and also scissors and also fire.
- 18:50Speaker 3: But my other one weakness.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Not much paper. There's a drawer that is not locked
- 18:56Speaker 2: on the other side of the kind of desk area here,
- 19:00Speaker 2: and in that drawer there's there are some papers. There's
- 19:04Speaker 2: nothing too crazy uh in there, but you do ugh yeah,
- 19:11Speaker 2: on beating me more than five. There's two things you find.
- 19:15Speaker 2: One of them is the schematics to the drawn schematics
- 19:22Speaker 2: to the everheart. Oh and what you note in the
- 19:27Speaker 2: bottom right hand corner of these drawn schematics is E E.
- 19:32Speaker 2: There are two e's Ellington.
- 19:34Speaker 3: That's my thought. I know ann Ellington, but I think
- 19:37Speaker 3: his first name is Manny could be you know an Ellington.
- 19:41Speaker 3: I work at a public government building sort of a thing.
- 19:44Speaker 3: I see him. He likes to read. But would I
- 19:48Speaker 3: know the family history of the Ellington's.
- 19:52Speaker 2: So there's a ee could also just be for Ellington Electric.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Oh sure his company. Uh you can roll a roll
- 20:02Speaker 2: a a knowledge check on on the history of the
- 20:07Speaker 2: Ellington Ellington's. Sure.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Wow, that's one one on a D twelve fields.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Bad. Okay, you do not know anything about the history
- 20:18Speaker 2: of the Ellington's. The other thing that you noticed that's
- 20:21Speaker 2: paper is it's very similar to the other notes that
- 20:27Speaker 2: Zara seems to have left behind. It, says aesthetic consultant
- 20:33Speaker 2: Esthetic and design consultant Sasha Martin Glass of Sass, say
- 20:39Speaker 2: that five times fast. No, Esthetic and design consultant Sasha
- 20:47Speaker 2: Martin Glass of Sass, Glass of Sense.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll everything I'm detecting. I'll just be saying out
- 20:57Speaker 3: loud with my eyes closed so you guys could hear it. Yeah, okay,
- 21:02Speaker 3: oh well you guys, I mean it sounds like you
- 21:06Speaker 3: don't want to put on your grandma's sweet sweet armor, right,
- 21:11Speaker 3: jamiro not not not this moment.
- 21:14Speaker 2: No.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Well, maybe whoever this Glass of Sass person is, maybe
- 21:18Speaker 3: they can help you know, get you not that the
- 21:21Speaker 3: sweatpants and do rag aren't good that you look great.
- 21:25Speaker 3: I'm just saying, you know, and Quanta if you want
- 21:28Speaker 3: as well, big hoodie is good, not saying it's bad.
- 21:32Speaker 3: But maybe they know more about outfitting.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe this person and we have to figure out.
- 21:42Speaker 4: I mean, this is a mantle, this is powers, this
- 21:47Speaker 4: is this is another hero, I mean, a fourth member
- 21:52Speaker 4: of whatever thing we're trying to do here.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Right, like, unless it was you you plus.
- 22:04Speaker 3: No I.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Did I got the magic. I cracked the code. I'm strong.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Well I didn't really crack the code, but that's neither
- 22:14Speaker 4: here nor there. I I got my strength and I
- 22:17Speaker 4: got the flight.
- 22:20Speaker 3: I don't need this. It didn't you just make those suits? Move?
- 22:24Speaker 1: Yeah? I mean I can't. I can't fly.
- 22:27Speaker 3: You can?
- 22:27Speaker 2: You can zap?
- 22:29Speaker 1: Yeah? Move yeah? But I mean flying flying with wings?
- 22:33Speaker 1: How as get greedy? Greedy?
- 22:40Speaker 2: Just just I mean, hey, she found the basement, the
- 22:45Speaker 2: old This.
- 22:46Speaker 3: Is my.
- 22:48Speaker 1: I don't have ownership of the basement. But if there's
- 22:51Speaker 1: a suit here with wings, I kind of want to it.
- 22:57Speaker 4: If if there's a mantle to pass, don't any If
- 23:00Speaker 4: you have friends or someone that we can get some
- 23:03Speaker 4: help out there in the field alongside. I mean, I
- 23:07Speaker 4: have a couple of people that come.
- 23:08Speaker 3: To mind at this moment.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Maria comes pattering down the stairs with a set of keys. Uh,
- 23:15Speaker 2: these are the keys they left there, and she gives
- 23:20Speaker 2: you the key to the drawer.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Thank you, Maria.
- 23:24Speaker 4: I mean this guy just kind of chanted out loud,
- 23:28Speaker 4: but thank you. I opened the drawer and look at
- 23:34Speaker 4: the paper that Phantom had already sensed.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Oh so that drawer is unlocked. There's a there's another drawer.
- 23:40Speaker 2: There's another drawer where Quantas sensed like very likely that.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, I'll so I take the keys, I say,
- 23:52Speaker 4: case this explodes.
- 23:54Speaker 3: It's been.
- 23:56Speaker 4: Quite the journey knowing you for the last few days.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Friends.
- 24:00Speaker 1: It's it's not going to, is it? With my sense before.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Put on armor just in case, right, No, no, no
- 24:08Speaker 2: one touched the suits.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I'm not going to. I respect your wishes.
- 24:12Speaker 3: I'm at this point. I put everything back except the helmet.
- 24:15Speaker 3: I'm still wearing that one.
- 24:17Speaker 1: I think it's okay to open I think we're safe.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Okay, I gingerly insert the key into the whole grouse.
- 24:27Speaker 3: What stop? Stop enjoying it.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I'm not enjoying this, enjoying this.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I think Jamiir is pretty ecstatic at this moment, I'm
- 24:44Speaker 2: I'm ecstatic, not not aroused.
- 24:48Speaker 4: Jamiir opens up the drawer and looks inside. Here there
- 24:57Speaker 4: is a mold of golden felt, and sitting neatly in
- 25:05Speaker 4: a perfect imprint is a prismatic diamond with inside a
- 25:14Speaker 4: swirling blue helix.
- 25:18Speaker 6: Oh so many shapes? Yeah, that's pretty at least two.
- 25:24Speaker 6: So this is this is the thing. This is what
- 25:28Speaker 6: gave everywing the power to get stuff done.
- 25:35Speaker 3: This is little.
- 25:36Speaker 4: Power the next every wing. Yeah, I feel like we
- 25:41Speaker 4: have a tryout. Should we thank on this for a
- 25:45Speaker 4: couple of weeks? I mean, I mean, I mean, I
- 25:50Speaker 4: do like where your head's at. Thank you, I do.
- 25:53Speaker 1: You knows as much as it pains me to not
- 25:56Speaker 1: climb in one of those things, Ian, we're barely figured
- 26:00Speaker 1: it out more right, But how do I don't I
- 26:04Speaker 1: don't feel equipped to judge somebody, to know what qualities
- 26:08Speaker 1: this kind of thing requires.
- 26:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Maria pipes up, taking a little bit more stance in
- 26:17Speaker 2: the room than she has yet, and says, the work
- 26:21Speaker 2: was placed on me my mom to choose when Jamiro
- 26:27Speaker 2: would be ready, and then me when my mom passed,
- 26:34Speaker 2: And I believe she taught me what to look for,
- 26:40Speaker 2: and I believe I should have a say and who
- 26:42Speaker 2: gets to wear the suit and who takes the other heart?
- 26:46Speaker 3: Oh you want it?
- 26:49Speaker 2: No, No, that's not what I meant at all. It's okay,
- 26:54Speaker 2: You're allowed to.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Want She doesn't. She doesn't want it, does she?
- 26:58Speaker 2: It doesn't seem like, yeah, I just my job was
- 27:04Speaker 2: to wait for Zara's replacement, the next ever wing. And
- 27:11Speaker 2: now that Jamiir's here, But it seems though you have
- 27:14Speaker 2: powers already, Jamir, so you're looking for you're looking for
- 27:17Speaker 2: someone else. And that was my whole job. That was
- 27:20Speaker 2: supposed to be my whole life. So I can help.
- 27:27Speaker 2: I mean, you sure you don't want to put this thing?
- 27:33Speaker 2: Stop trying to paint it off on other people.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Now he's letting people just jump in at Willy Nilly.
- 27:38Speaker 4: I guess well, no, I mean this is this is
- 27:40Speaker 4: her home, and she took care of this her whole life.
- 27:44Speaker 3: She's guarded this secret and well and now it sounds
- 27:47Speaker 3: like you're saying you don't want it. That's that's taking
- 27:50Speaker 3: all of the purpose out of this poor woman's life.
- 27:52Speaker 3: No offense, Marie. It's a patter on the shoulder. Wearing
- 27:56Speaker 3: the grandmother's mask. You should take it off. I agree,
- 28:03Speaker 3: it's fine. It's kind of hard to see it anyway. Yeah,
- 28:06Speaker 3: I don't.
- 28:06Speaker 2: I don't want to pressure you, Maria.
- 28:08Speaker 4: I mean, I have a friend that jumps to mind,
- 28:15Speaker 4: and a sister or three, but.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I have a I have a couple of friends. But again,
- 28:21Speaker 1: as much as I would love to have a try,
- 28:25Speaker 1: this is this is your legacy, this is your family.
- 28:29Speaker 1: So I do think it should be up to the
- 28:31Speaker 1: two of you, Jimir and Maria. Jason and I just
- 28:34Speaker 1: happen to be here, and.
- 28:35Speaker 4: I don't think any of this just happened. But thank
- 28:39Speaker 4: you Ermie. We should we should give it time. Yeah
- 28:45Speaker 4: time time sounds right, But I I don't care what
- 28:52Speaker 4: any deed or anything says. This is your house, Maria,
- 29:00Speaker 4: and it was your mother's house before you. I really
- 29:05Speaker 4: want you to think about this. If anyone should have
- 29:09Speaker 4: a cracket putting this on the years of work that
- 29:14Speaker 4: your mother and you have put in being a part
- 29:17Speaker 4: of all this, I mean, putting on the suit, you're
- 29:20Speaker 4: risking your life. So it's not a light thing. But
- 29:24Speaker 4: I mean we've already kind of tipped our hand to
- 29:28Speaker 4: you that none of us are normal folk anymore. You're
- 29:34Speaker 4: already in in a circle of trust.
- 29:39Speaker 2: I don't know. You don't have to you don't have
- 29:43Speaker 2: to do, you don't have to know. It's all good.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Okay, So we're just gonna leave these suits here for
- 29:49Speaker 3: a while until we feel okay, I'm today. Okay, that's fine,
- 29:55Speaker 3: that's fine. Is there a place we can talk down here?
- 29:59Speaker 3: I I want to explore more, like what else you know?
- 30:04Speaker 3: Is there is there side rooms? Is there a pantry
- 30:09Speaker 3: as you said there was living quarters? Is there like
- 30:12Speaker 3: a place we could gather?
- 30:15Speaker 1: I think I as Jimyer says this, and I'd like
- 30:18Speaker 1: sensed further into it. Ronica sees his excitement at the
- 30:22Speaker 1: discovery and just says, I think there's some places through here,
- 30:27Speaker 1: but doesn't like go into detail or anything so that
- 30:31Speaker 1: he can explore.
- 30:32Speaker 3: That's very sweet, you guys.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Head towards the back, the other side of this wall,
- 30:37Speaker 2: and there's a lounge here, lots of dusty old chairs.
- 30:44Speaker 2: There's a TV down here. There are a few phones
- 30:48Speaker 2: in the wall that Ronnie, you realize are disconnected, but
- 30:53Speaker 2: a few old phones that seem to be calling calling devices,
- 30:59Speaker 2: but obviously but like for special things.
- 31:03Speaker 1: A calling device. I sent several calling devices.
- 31:07Speaker 2: There's kind of a small kitchenette here in this lounge area,
- 31:11Speaker 2: and then there are four rooms that have beds in them.
- 31:15Speaker 2: It is pretty, it's pretty cave like. It's not super nice.
- 31:19Speaker 2: It may have been in its day, but it is.
- 31:22Speaker 2: It is old and nasty down here. Yes, oh man.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Can you imagine sixty years ago, probably all the heroes
- 31:31Speaker 1: were in and out of this place. I don't I'm
- 31:33Speaker 1: excited to learn more about them. I don't know much,
- 31:37Speaker 1: but it is cool to know that other people were
- 31:41Speaker 1: doing something similar to what we might be trying to
- 31:44Speaker 1: do at some point in history.
- 31:47Speaker 4: Jason, think about it. Spellbook could have set right there.
- 31:50Speaker 4: I rub the seat of a chair.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Wow, I get the little zaps of electricity.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, I mean, your grandma's message was beautiful, but
- 32:02Speaker 3: she's gone, So I don't know. Should we try and
- 32:08Speaker 3: follow in our footsteps, use this place, use her knowledge,
- 32:12Speaker 3: use her connections? Do do we think there's more? Is
- 32:17Speaker 3: anyone else we could talk to?
- 32:19Speaker 4: I look at Maria, and I do say, Maria, is
- 32:24Speaker 4: there any entrances or exits to this place besides the
- 32:28Speaker 4: one in the house?
- 32:29Speaker 2: Yes, of course. The tunnel the walls to the tunnel
- 32:33Speaker 2: down there are illusory. You can go through them and
- 32:36Speaker 2: access the tunnels that hold the pneumatic tubes throughout the city.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Illusory tunnel.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Deech. Wow.
- 32:45Speaker 3: They were ahead of their time.
- 32:47Speaker 1: So we could just follow those and go out many places.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Yes, these pneumatic tunnels are below the subway and below sewers,
- 32:58Speaker 2: so some places you can come up and the sewer tunnels,
- 33:01Speaker 2: someplace you can come up in the subway tunnels, and
- 33:03Speaker 2: some go right up to the city floor. And we
- 33:06Speaker 2: can use these tunnels. My mom told me that's what
- 33:10Speaker 2: they did to keep sneaking in and out of this place. Guy.
- 33:14Speaker 4: Yeah, we can get here from anywhere we need.
- 33:18Speaker 1: That's that's so cool.
- 33:21Speaker 3: That's great.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Okay, Okay, new rule from now on, none of us
- 33:26Speaker 4: walk to this place.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Okay.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Okay, I know I'm being followed at least occasionally by
- 33:33Speaker 4: people from the city government.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Let's not risk it anymore. Okay, Okay, deal.
- 33:40Speaker 4: Let's go down some tubes, figure out where things come
- 33:44Speaker 4: and go, and let's start learning this tube land.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Okay, agreed, Tube party.
- 33:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:50Speaker 4: Can we spend some time figuring out the tubes?
- 33:53Speaker 2: JH. So I think we need to. We're still in
- 33:56Speaker 2: threadchasing in our DWN time.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Your right, I'm just trying to think of a better
- 34:01Speaker 1: phrase than tube party.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Tube tube time to tube edit that out. There's tube town,
- 34:09Speaker 3: tube tube land.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Tube time like tube time, it's tube time, baby.
- 34:14Speaker 2: So if if one, if if one or more of
- 34:16Speaker 2: you want to add tube time to your thread chasing,
- 34:20Speaker 2: you can, or you can wait until we're done with
- 34:22Speaker 2: thread chasing and we'll just do that in the normal
- 34:26Speaker 2: normal Is this is this.
- 34:28Speaker 1: A continuation of Dirk thread or is this a separate thread?
- 34:32Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 34:32Speaker 2: This feels meaedy. Yeah, I'm gonna say because yeah, I'm
- 34:37Speaker 2: trying to keep track. So there was the thread of
- 34:41Speaker 2: trying to find out more about past hero. Yes, this
- 34:47Speaker 2: has very much to do with that. Yes, and that
- 34:50Speaker 2: started with a talk with Jackie. So I'm going to
- 34:55Speaker 2: say that is one thread for everyone, and then and Jamir,
- 35:01Speaker 2: but that counts as just one thread for you, Jamir,
- 35:03Speaker 2: so you still have two and then waking up Dirk
- 35:07Speaker 2: one is one thread just for a quanta.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Okay, so I have two more?
- 35:12Speaker 2: Yes, okay, Jason, you still have three threads right, yep?
- 35:16Speaker 1: Nice?
- 35:17Speaker 2: Okay, So this is an amazing discovery. You found the
- 35:21Speaker 2: nest of the ever wing. Oh, and it is Jamir's grandma.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Just to be real clear, what Jamir's grandma knows everywhere?
- 35:36Speaker 2: What other threads are we chasing?
- 35:39Speaker 4: Y'all?
- 35:41Speaker 1: I want Ronica wants to go looking for her dad,
- 35:46Speaker 1: so she hasn't heard from him, so I think she
- 35:49Speaker 1: would start with Gabe since he's still at the church,
- 35:53Speaker 1: to see what he's heard, to have him dig a
- 35:56Speaker 1: little deeper.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Got it, all right, Let's do a role for Gabe ooh,
- 36:01Speaker 2: to see if he can sniff out where your dad
- 36:03Speaker 2: has been. Is there any way you can help gate?
- 36:06Speaker 1: That's what I was just thinking. Okay, so I was thinking,
- 36:12Speaker 1: we have the earpiece, I could be talking to him,
- 36:16Speaker 1: just like helping him as he's talking to people. I
- 36:21Speaker 1: was high up, so maybe there were some like but
- 36:24Speaker 1: also he was he was kind of my butler. So
- 36:26Speaker 1: or are there like passwords or pass codes that he
- 36:29Speaker 1: or I might know? But they might have changed those
- 36:31Speaker 1: by now since they called me a murder and kicked
- 36:34Speaker 1: me out. Yeah, A lot of my stuff, like everything
- 36:38Speaker 1: I could think of is just I'm present. I'm physically present, right.
- 36:41Speaker 2: I think he gave when you float The idea just says,
- 36:46Speaker 2: why don't you you could like sit on a building,
- 36:50Speaker 2: like close outside, and you could tell me where people are.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Can't you even like change some people's emotions?
- 36:57Speaker 1: Or Yeah?
- 36:57Speaker 2: So if I ask somebody a question and they don't
- 37:00Speaker 2: want to tell me, maybe you could like play with
- 37:01Speaker 2: that a little bit.
- 37:02Speaker 1: That's such a good idea.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Okay, it seems hard because you know you'd have to
- 37:07Speaker 2: reach pretty far with your powers.
- 37:08Speaker 1: But I'll try it, Okay, I mean as long as
- 37:11Speaker 1: you feel safe. Yeah, yeah, sure, man, Why didn't I
- 37:14Speaker 1: think of that? That's okay, that's why you have friends.
- 37:16Speaker 3: All right.
- 37:17Speaker 1: I do a little smile.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Gabe heads in, starts asking around. He's taking the angle
- 37:23Speaker 2: of like, hey, we kicked out Ronnie. Whatever happened to
- 37:26Speaker 2: Ronnie's dead?
- 37:26Speaker 1: Yeah? I'm doing my best paper phantom roof creep. Yeah,
- 37:33Speaker 1: with my knees up to my face. Got it, that's
- 37:35Speaker 1: how you do.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Creep. Gabe rolls a defour for investigation, all right, and
- 37:45Speaker 2: no powers. Because Gabe doesn't have powers. What are you
- 37:48Speaker 2: rolling to add?
- 37:49Speaker 1: I just add a power, not a skill, correct, I
- 37:51Speaker 1: would add, yeah, either synaptic scan or control electricity to
- 37:56Speaker 1: help calm the emotions.
- 37:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I think control electricity probably help.
- 38:02Speaker 1: The person he's talking to be more receptive. We're willing
- 38:05Speaker 1: to answer two.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Two.
- 38:07Speaker 2: He rolled three, so you guys got five total. Okay,
- 38:10Speaker 2: this is a difficult check. So I'm rolling a D twelve.
- 38:16Speaker 2: I rolled a nine. Gabe walking through No One gives
- 38:22Speaker 2: him a straight answer about your dad, and people start
- 38:26Speaker 2: to get a little bit suspicious.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Okay, the ones who start to get suspicious, I want
- 38:31Speaker 1: to wipe that memory that Gabe asked them.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Ooh yeah, okay, roll roll street smarts plus your control electricity,
- 38:43Speaker 2: all right, seven or no, this would be knowledge plus
- 38:46Speaker 2: control electricity.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Dang, just reroll it all okay four?
- 38:52Speaker 3: Four?
- 38:52Speaker 2: I rolled two, so you're able to wipe these wipe
- 38:56Speaker 2: these questions of Gabe out and Gabe, it seems safe.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Okay, thanks for trying. Yeah, sorry, No, it's okay. They
- 39:04Speaker 1: won't remember that you asked.
- 39:05Speaker 3: Oh good.
- 39:06Speaker 2: As he's walking out, he says, okay, if they can
- 39:09Speaker 2: give me anything, who else would know?
- 39:11Speaker 1: Maybe Dirk, my dad, like was his doctor. Uh huh,
- 39:17Speaker 1: maybe he would know. Okay, try.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Okay, you crash back to a hole to get back
- 39:26Speaker 2: to the place. I think we can keep going on
- 39:29Speaker 2: this thread if.
- 39:29Speaker 1: You wanna feel allowed?
- 39:31Speaker 3: Yeah you Dirk again?
- 39:35Speaker 1: Jimmy ors yeah, Jimmy? Or can I use some of
- 39:38Speaker 1: that blood you stole?
- 39:40Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 39:40Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, thank you. I go down to the fridge,
- 39:43Speaker 4: pull it out. I like rub it with my hands
- 39:46Speaker 4: to warm it out. I don't know if the.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Heat matters for that, but I don't know either.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Do you do you want privacy here? Can I? Oh?
- 39:53Speaker 2: Come on, great, Jason, do you want to be there
- 39:56Speaker 2: for this?
- 39:57Speaker 3: I think i'll I'll simultaneously work on something else, So okay,
- 40:01Speaker 3: I'll be upstairs.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Cool Now we can have moved him to the Everwing nest.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, yeah, so he's down the Everwing nest. You
- 40:10Speaker 2: put some blood in him? He sits up? Put some blood? Oh, Ronnie, Hi, Hello,
- 40:19Speaker 2: it's been a couple of days. Yes, I understand that
- 40:24Speaker 2: it's hard to keep me up and about I don't
- 40:26Speaker 2: want to ask for more blood.
- 40:28Speaker 1: And I feel a little awkward about waking you up
- 40:35Speaker 1: just so I can ask you questions. But that's what
- 40:37Speaker 1: I'm doing.
- 40:41Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 40:43Speaker 2: It used to be people would wake me up to
- 40:45Speaker 2: make me go kill people. So this is better.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Okay, my dad, I don't know where he is.
- 40:55Speaker 3: Ah, Lance is your father.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Yeah, after the church blamed me for or the murder
- 41:00Speaker 1: that you committed, he's he's nowhere to be found by me.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Do you know where he could have gone or where
- 41:09Speaker 1: the church could have taken him?
- 41:12Speaker 2: Lance was kind to me in some horrible moments. They
- 41:24Speaker 2: when they didn't want me to remember, they would take
- 41:29Speaker 2: me to what was it called I can see the
- 41:34Speaker 2: neon visions call it's a Delphite lounge. And what's al
- 41:42Speaker 2: Delphite lounge is to my understanding, they and your era
- 41:47Speaker 2: have figured out how to isolate certain parts of the
- 41:53Speaker 2: nectar that flows through us. They used to say something
- 41:56Speaker 2: about visions. Yeah, and you could relive those visions. I
- 42:01Speaker 2: never had a vision that I'm that I remember again.
- 42:05Speaker 2: They took me there to wipe certain parts of my
- 42:07Speaker 2: memory so that but then before when we woke you up,
- 42:11Speaker 2: a lot of them are coming back. What you said
- 42:14Speaker 2: that there were lots of things that you weren't supposed
- 42:16Speaker 2: to remember, but you were about the creation of the day,
- 42:20Speaker 2: and I don't that doesn't I don't remember that. No,
- 42:24Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 42:25Speaker 1: I look at your mirror, I narrow my eyes. What
- 42:29Speaker 1: about everwing.
- 42:32Speaker 2: Everwing rings a bell somewhere. My mind is twisted broken.
- 42:40Speaker 2: I look at your mirror. Maybe Jason does have really
- 42:43Speaker 2: good blood called down.
- 42:44Speaker 3: From upstir you guys beat my blood. No, we're good.
- 42:49Speaker 3: Maybe it might be I cut my head.
- 42:52Speaker 2: It's fine, that's good.
- 42:55Speaker 1: That's the that's the variable that I can think of.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Swum under that's just covered in blood, comes down, geez dirty.
- 43:05Speaker 1: No subtlety from him.
- 43:07Speaker 2: I would be surprised if it has anything to do
- 43:10Speaker 2: with blood. I don't know. I feel.
- 43:14Speaker 4: We could try. For side's sake.
- 43:21Speaker 1: I know that I'm sorry.
- 43:23Speaker 2: But if your father wasn't operating me under the church,
- 43:28Speaker 2: operating on me under the church, he was, he was
- 43:32Speaker 2: there at at the Vision's call, the Delphied Lounge, I
- 43:36Speaker 2: would try there.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Thank you, okay, And you did you. You were telling
- 43:43Speaker 1: us things about the creation of the day and about
- 43:46Speaker 1: the womb and where day nectar came from.
- 43:50Speaker 2: He looks off into the mid distance and just says,
- 43:55Speaker 2: I'm sorry. The earliest thing I remember is wandering into
- 44:00Speaker 2: the light of a street lamp and being found by
- 44:03Speaker 2: a young dory.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Okay, we're just gonna stay here until you pass out.
- 44:08Speaker 1: If that's okay with you, Just I don't take comfortable Yeah, okay, don't.
- 44:13Speaker 1: We don't want to send you out to murder anyone
- 44:15Speaker 1: right now?
- 44:16Speaker 3: Great?
- 44:18Speaker 4: Do we we're testing the Jason blood though.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and once you pass out, we'll put some Jason
- 44:23Speaker 1: blood in you just to see, just.
- 44:24Speaker 4: To see what happens. Okay, you get those memories back
- 44:28Speaker 4: my brother.
- 44:28Speaker 3: Okay, great? Is it's part Cheesy still around? You still
- 44:35Speaker 3: play part Cheesy?
- 44:36Speaker 2: Ye?
- 44:37Speaker 3: Yes, everyone still plays.
- 44:40Speaker 2: It's good to know the world hasn't changed.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Do you want to do you want to play part
- 44:43Speaker 1: Cheesy until you pass out?
- 44:44Speaker 3: Do you have par cheesy?
- 44:46Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 44:46Speaker 3: Talking about cheese cheese?
- 44:50Speaker 2: Dirk falls asleep. You try to put Jason's blood in it,
- 44:54Speaker 2: he wakes up for a very short amount of time,
- 44:56Speaker 2: and and there's no difference.
- 44:59Speaker 4: Thank god. I mean it would have been nice. But man,
- 45:02Speaker 4: if Jason's blood was somehow.
- 45:05Speaker 1: He does not need another reason. Yeah, that would have
- 45:08Speaker 1: been cut his hands open.
- 45:10Speaker 3: Do you do you want me to take any damage?
- 45:12Speaker 3: I've definitely cut both hands, not the same cut. Yeah,
- 45:16Speaker 3: take a damage?
- 45:17Speaker 1: Hell yeah, Jamir, would you go with me? Divisions? Call
- 45:21Speaker 1: later tonight of course. Thanks. We head there through the tubes.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Sounds, tube time, almost sneak sneaks through, taking Jason with
- 45:30Speaker 2: us or no.
- 45:32Speaker 1: If you want you said you were doing something.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Else, Well I wanted to well simultaneously, if it's possible,
- 45:37Speaker 3: I'd like to to try and just if they're distracted,
- 45:41Speaker 3: I want to feel all of Jimir's grandma's books upstairs,
- 45:44Speaker 3: like Limory and just like trying.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Your bloodied hand.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why I'm just upsma creeping.
- 45:54Speaker 3: So I want to know.
- 45:57Speaker 2: Go ahead and roll a sneak check, Jimmy, or rolla
- 46:02Speaker 2: sense check.
- 46:03Speaker 1: What about Maria Marias Listen, I.
- 46:06Speaker 5: Know Jason's on my team, but I kind of wanted
- 46:08Speaker 5: him to get caught red handed trying flood handed.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Maria is busy, busy, I'm sneaky. I got three, I
- 46:14Speaker 2: got fifteen. Oh what the hell you can roll that?
- 46:23Speaker 2: There's fifteens. Deema, the paper phantom becomes one with the
- 46:31Speaker 2: walls and the shadows, and sneaks all the way upstairs,
- 46:37Speaker 2: pushing out your sense of all things paper into the
- 46:41Speaker 2: office of who you now know to be the ever
- 46:46Speaker 2: wing roll a sense check. The amount of stuff you
- 46:50Speaker 2: could get here is pretty big, so so you could
- 46:54Speaker 2: have me roll difficult or epic. If you succeed on epic,
- 46:59Speaker 2: you get more what dice is epic, Epic is twenty.
- 47:03Speaker 3: Let's not risk it for the biscuit this time. I'm
- 47:05Speaker 3: gonna play it safe, all right, Marolla D twelve. I
- 47:09Speaker 3: got two D eights going here thirteen. Ooh, I rolled
- 47:13Speaker 3: a six.
- 47:15Speaker 2: So you critically succeed be me or not critically that's
- 47:18Speaker 2: ten over be be me by more than five.
- 47:20Speaker 3: So this is a good role.
- 47:22Speaker 2: The books in there and the papers in there are
- 47:25Speaker 2: not organized, and that drives you crazy as a librarian,
- 47:29Speaker 2: but you start to be able to break them up,
- 47:31Speaker 2: as Jamiir has already started to pile some here and there.
- 47:36Speaker 2: There are books anything that might allude to magic, mythology,
- 47:43Speaker 2: even story books, fairy tale, and then a lot of history,
- 47:48Speaker 2: and then there's science. There's you saw the suits downstairs.
- 47:53Speaker 2: There's a level of engineering and mechanical study that she did.
- 47:58Speaker 2: And then you focus in on on a piece of paper.
- 48:01Speaker 2: It's not just a piece of paper, really, there's there's
- 48:04Speaker 2: probably a notebook that's just full of like her ramblings
- 48:10Speaker 2: of trying to figure this out, just kind of a
- 48:13Speaker 2: brain map of trying things she's learned and thinks she's
- 48:18Speaker 2: trying to understand. And then it gets to a point
- 48:22Speaker 2: where it says, Okay, I think there's five spirit balance, discord, annihilation,
- 48:31Speaker 2: and then star magic with a bunch of question marks.
- 48:35Speaker 2: She also has a spell book in there that's full
- 48:38Speaker 2: of spells and rituals.
- 48:42Speaker 3: I'm gonna yink it.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Uh great, Yeah, I think you can joink it either
- 48:48Speaker 2: through the you can unlock the door with the paper key.
- 48:51Speaker 2: I'm assuming you keep the door locked your mirror, yes,
- 48:54Speaker 2: but I think I'm gonna have you roll to get
- 48:56Speaker 2: through the door.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Okay, just see you like your body be pressed against
- 49:00Speaker 1: the door, your eyes.
- 49:07Speaker 2: This is a challenging chick. So I'm rolling a d.
- 49:10Speaker 3: Tent okay, And what do you want me to roll?
- 49:12Speaker 2: Street Smarts plus paper Nancy six. I rolled one. You
- 49:19Speaker 2: put some firm paper in there, jimmy it around until
- 49:22Speaker 2: you hear the latch click and you're able to take
- 49:27Speaker 2: this spill book.
- 49:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna go and get and yeah, I would
- 49:30Speaker 3: assume at this point unless there's more that you guys
- 49:33Speaker 3: are yelling about tube time and parcheesy down there, y, yeah,
- 49:36Speaker 3: you want a cheese Oh yeah, I cheese, I'm coming.
- 49:41Speaker 2: And then do we want to go together to a
- 49:42Speaker 2: vision's call?
- 49:44Speaker 3: Sure?
- 49:45Speaker 2: Great.
- 49:46Speaker 1: As we're going through the tubes, do you think they
- 49:47Speaker 1: had lubber bikes or something to get around down here?
- 49:53Speaker 1: We're just like walking the whole city.
- 49:55Speaker 2: I mean a lot of them could fly. True. Oh,
- 50:00Speaker 2: an idea go on? I'm listening.
- 50:03Speaker 3: Is there a an access tube to put paper in
- 50:06Speaker 3: for the pneumatic tube?
- 50:08Speaker 2: Yes, there's a there's a place where you could put
- 50:11Speaker 2: paper in close to Everwing's computer.
- 50:14Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, can can I? I guess what I want
- 50:18Speaker 3: to try and do here is put some paper in
- 50:21Speaker 3: one of the like tube capsules and then put it
- 50:26Speaker 3: up through the tube and then like link link to it,
- 50:29Speaker 3: like lasso more paper around it on the outside and
- 50:33Speaker 3: let that the pneumatic tube paper pull us cool. So
- 50:37Speaker 3: the tube is a tube? Yeah? So how you can't
- 50:42Speaker 3: go inside the tube? Yeah? I understand. I started trying
- 50:45Speaker 3: to lasso like paper to paper like paper magnets. Yeah,
- 50:49Speaker 3: like paper magnets.
- 50:50Speaker 1: It's kind of you know, like when you make magnets
- 50:52Speaker 1: out of paper.
- 50:53Speaker 2: Yeah. So you're saying if the paper use so you
- 50:56Speaker 2: stuff a lot of paper in the tube and then
- 50:58Speaker 2: you make like a paper rope that goes around the
- 51:02Speaker 2: outside of the tube. Yes, and those are like they
- 51:05Speaker 2: were once the same piece of paper, and so they're connected.
- 51:07Speaker 2: I see, great, let's try it, Okay.
- 51:12Speaker 3: And then yeah, theoretically we can.
- 51:13Speaker 2: I can.
- 51:14Speaker 3: We can ride on my longboard and that'll pull us faster.
- 51:16Speaker 3: I don't know. Great, that's my idea, Seve works. What
- 51:19Speaker 3: do you want to roll paper? Nancy? Plus? What dumb
- 51:22Speaker 3: idea is this?
- 51:23Speaker 2: Probably street smarts? Okay, this is a difficult checks. I'm
- 51:28Speaker 2: only in D twelve three ten.
- 51:31Speaker 1: All right, fair enough, we all we all three get
- 51:34Speaker 1: on your longboard. I'll gig each other.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Let's do it, all right, and the paper starts shooting
- 51:40Speaker 2: through the thing and your paper just breaks.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Well, back to walking.
- 51:46Speaker 1: I mean I could strike around. I mean it's just
- 51:50Speaker 1: as loud down here as it is outside.
- 51:52Speaker 3: Hey, we can talk while we walk.
- 51:54Speaker 2: Tube time, Tube time, you all start to learn the
- 51:58Speaker 2: maze of the the new tube system.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Do you guys mind if I try something, if I
- 52:09Speaker 1: mess with your brains a little bit. I want to
- 52:12Speaker 1: see if I can disguise myself by making you see
- 52:16Speaker 1: what I want you to see.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Cool? Yeah, yeah, try it on Jason.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Okay, I want to mess with the signals from Jason's
- 52:26Speaker 1: eyes to his brain, so when he's looking at me,
- 52:30Speaker 1: he sees like a human woman. I just like picked
- 52:34Speaker 1: somebody i've seen on the street before. Great, this is
- 52:37Speaker 1: a I would say, this is a branching power for sure.
- 52:41Speaker 1: So you have to succeed on a godly check. Oh
- 52:44Speaker 1: that sounds big one godly. Yes, I'm going to ask
- 52:48Speaker 1: for me knowledge or sense about cox. Uh no, Yeah,
- 52:54Speaker 1: coax is good. Trying to persuade him to see something different.
- 52:58Speaker 1: I'm fine with that. Coax and control electricity. Is this
- 53:01Speaker 1: a D twenty and D four versus D twenty D four?
- 53:04Speaker 2: Yeah? Man man, math man.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Johnny's mouth is.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Wide, he's wide open. Seventeen.
- 53:15Speaker 3: I rolled a twenty and a four.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Oh, I rolle so good? And God said, no.
- 53:25Speaker 3: What do I what do I see? What she's doing? This?
- 53:27Speaker 3: It's not working? Fuck, Jason.
- 53:33Speaker 2: Your eyes panic and you start to see your friends
- 53:36Speaker 2: wobble and move and melt in front of you.
- 53:40Speaker 1: Is it working?
- 53:40Speaker 3: No, everything's cool.
- 53:44Speaker 1: Oh no, okay, I stop what I was doing. Yeah,
- 53:48Speaker 1: I turned it back on.
- 53:50Speaker 3: H Okay, I'm.
- 53:53Speaker 1: Sorry, I'm sorry, that's gay.
- 53:56Speaker 3: Try it now.
- 53:57Speaker 2: Nope, nope, nope, I'm good. I'm good. That's a fail.
- 54:01Speaker 2: Make a note of that and you can try again
- 54:04Speaker 2: another time.
- 54:06Speaker 1: That would have been too easy. Huh.
- 54:08Speaker 4: Hey, I like where your head's at, though. I think
- 54:12Speaker 4: I'm not that creative with my powers. I just kind
- 54:14Speaker 4: of punch things and blast stuff.
- 54:18Speaker 1: I mean maybe we could think of something.
- 54:22Speaker 3: Hey, if somebody sees you and you don't want them
- 54:24Speaker 3: to know what you look like, you can punch them.
- 54:26Speaker 3: I think that's a good solution too. Thanks. Brother.
- 54:29Speaker 2: Yeah, the visions call the Dell Fight Lounge is in Cono.
- 54:37Speaker 3: The three of you.
- 54:37Speaker 2: Pop up in an alley where there's access to the sewer,
- 54:43Speaker 2: and you find yourself in Cono, Colorado North. There are
- 55:00Speaker 2: beautiful beams of spotlights shining up against a silhouette of
- 55:07Speaker 2: enormously tall buildings and high rises in Kno. Every night
- 55:11Speaker 2: there's some sort of party going on, and the wealthy
- 55:16Speaker 2: here revel in their success.
- 55:26Speaker 3: How are you guys going?
- 55:28Speaker 2: Are you dressed in your superhero stuff or are you
- 55:31Speaker 2: dressed in normal clothes?
- 55:34Speaker 1: Yeah? I think normal clothes, big hoodie, but I have
- 55:37Speaker 1: my balalaklava up like a beanie so I can pull
- 55:39Speaker 1: it down over my face really easily.
- 55:41Speaker 3: Got it. I guess here's my question. Where are we?
- 55:44Speaker 3: We're in Cono? This is like sort of the nice
- 55:47Speaker 3: part town, or we're going to like a club is Yes,
- 55:51Speaker 3: I wanted to do this for a while, so I
- 55:55Speaker 3: can I gussie us up some like paper like outfits,
- 55:59Speaker 3: like fun party clothes. But absolutely I want a bigot
- 56:03Speaker 3: suit and a hat. Yeah, just made out of all
- 56:09Speaker 3: white suits, and yeah, we'll look cool as hell.
- 56:11Speaker 1: All right, let's roll a glory. Thank gosh, all of
- 56:15Speaker 1: us in baggy suits. That's so awesome.
- 56:19Speaker 3: Yeah, these aren't gonna look great. I've put I've taken
- 56:21Speaker 3: all of my energy and put it into paper sents too,
- 56:23Speaker 3: So this isn't gonna be They're not gonna be the
- 56:25Speaker 3: nicest they can.
- 56:26Speaker 1: Can I help? Jason thinks really good?
- 56:28Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely you can. You can remind him of cool
- 56:32Speaker 2: suits he's seen in the past.
- 56:35Speaker 1: I unnecessarily put my hands on your temples and massage that.
- 56:39Speaker 3: I can only see cool suits.
- 56:41Speaker 1: That's the points make us look amazing. I had a two.
- 56:48Speaker 2: I got two two's so four so six? I rolled
- 56:53Speaker 2: a three? Hey, so you beat me?
- 56:55Speaker 3: By three.
- 56:56Speaker 2: Uh, you make yourself your cools zo suit and a
- 57:00Speaker 2: big old hat. What the other of you two want
- 57:04Speaker 2: Jason to make you out of paper?
- 57:05Speaker 1: Yeah? I also want. I want a baggy suit with
- 57:09Speaker 1: like the vest and like the spatty spatty shoes. Sure
- 57:13Speaker 1: I want, Yeah, I want. I want like slouchy so
- 57:15Speaker 1: that when I put my hands in my pockets, I
- 57:17Speaker 1: just look very cool with a jacket over my shoulder.
- 57:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:21Speaker 3: Is this like newspaper? Are you using fancy paper? Oh? Oh,
- 57:27Speaker 3: it'll just be some of the paper from Jamiir's library.
- 57:33Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I'm just good in what I can find.
- 57:38Speaker 3: But it's not from the spell books. Just other paper
- 57:40Speaker 3: I've been kind of there.
- 57:41Speaker 4: Just papers from my grandmother's treasury.
- 57:45Speaker 1: It looks so cool, but like my pants are the
- 57:47Speaker 1: toy of the three.
- 57:47Speaker 2: Little fairy Tale.
- 57:50Speaker 3: One day you can look like whatever you want, Jamir.
- 57:55Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, Jamiir will We'll get some paper accents, so
- 58:01Speaker 4: a paper watch I would like a paper chain would
- 58:06Speaker 4: be fun. Yeah, just some accents that look again their paper,
- 58:12Speaker 4: but maybe if you don't look at them too closely,
- 58:13Speaker 4: they could be confused as jewelry.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Nice. Oh, I also need a big hat so that
- 58:21Speaker 1: my baltiklava can fit underneath it can pull it down
- 58:25Speaker 1: when I need to.
- 58:26Speaker 2: You find visions Call. You step into a dark lounge.
- 58:55Speaker 2: You're greeted by a human man who is mostly nude.
- 59:01Speaker 2: His janitals and nipples are covered by dark leather.
- 59:06Speaker 3: God, it's not paper.
- 59:08Speaker 2: There's dark, dark makeup around his eyes. The other workers here,
- 59:13Speaker 2: both day and human, male and female, are all adorned
- 59:16Speaker 2: the same way. The gentleman looks at the three of you,
- 59:22Speaker 2: Welcome to visions call. Are you seeking to relive your vision?
- 59:26Speaker 2: He looks at you, Quanta.
- 59:28Speaker 1: No, something a little different tonight. I think.
- 59:33Speaker 2: You would like to peruse our list of other available
- 59:36Speaker 2: visions please. Oh yeah, daddyo Jesus and these two humans
- 59:45Speaker 2: cannot relive the visions of day.
- 59:49Speaker 1: My companions for when I want to use them.
- 59:53Speaker 2: I see sex butlers like a cool man. We have
- 59:59Speaker 2: a lit We have a lot of six buttoners coming
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: in neon light tubes affront your vision. And in the
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: and in the attempt to look away, your eyes are
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: drawn to beautiful and comfy looking plush lounge recliner chairs.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: Damn those look comfy.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: Each is covered overhead by a warming light and these
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: are the only warm and inviting spots in this lounge.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: And you are taken to one of these zones and
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: there's kind of a small wall around it with benches
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: on either side, comfy benches.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Those benches look company.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: As we're walking in, scanning the building, seeing if there's
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: some a basement. I'm gonna Jason's always looking for paper.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna be always looking for basements sometimes. Huh sense check?
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: All right, that's my scan seven. I rolled a five.
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: You succeed.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: The main area is here. There is an upstairs and
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: a downstairs. Upstairs, you do feel a lot of electric
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: currents that are plugged into different appliances, and downstairs there
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: are more there. There are lights over like doctor chairs,
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: I would say, even sense the ability to like the
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: you know, the doctor chairs that can go up and
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: down and up, motorized chairs.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Motorized Yeah, things recline.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: And once we're like shown to our seats and the
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: host walks away, I'll just say downstairs to both of them.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Got it cool? Cool?
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Is there anyone down there?
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: Okay? How many?
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: A few? There's a handful.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: Do any of them read like my dad on your success?
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: No? Your dad's not down there.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: I think there's three people, but he's not there. But
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: maybe they know something. Okay, be said, I'm gonna get
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: up and go as if I'm going to the little
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Day's room, all right, and then find the door downstairs.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Yeah, make a make a lie check, and you can
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: use your control electricity to avert people's eyes.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: To do whatever.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: Yes, all of that. Nine.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: This is an average check. So I'm only a D
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: eight and you can't. I can't beat you, but I
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: rolled a five.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: You find the.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Door, you go downstairs, you see a laboratory. Three people
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: are down here. Two of them are standing over one
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: of these tables. It's stark white down here, completely different
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: than the lounge up top. The two standing over the
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: day that is on the table. They have different tubes
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: hooked up to different places on his head and they
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: are extracting something, some nectar.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, is this what I know? Is this
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: like how they get people's visions to Yeah? Yes, to
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: sell them, Okay, I think I want to. I will
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: go ahead and pull my battaglava down, just still in
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: my pay per suit with my big hat, and just
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: say Lance Dason and then look in their brains to
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: see if I can see like their first thought. When
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: I say his name, they both look up at you.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: You see definitely memories of that name popping up?
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Where is he?
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: One of them looks at you, pauses his work, looks
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: at the other and says, don't say anything under his breath,
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: and then to you says, we don't. We never heard
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: of that. We don't know who that is. Shouldn't you
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: be upstairs? You're not supposed to be down here.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: A little bit of what Jason and the paper phantom
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: have said pop into Ronnie's head, and she's gonna try
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: to make both of their bodies go completely numb.
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: Oh shoot.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: Great, let's roll a knowledge check or coax cox.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: This is difficult. I'm only a D twelve.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Right control electricity plus my Cox fourteen.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: Oh you beat me by more than ten.
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: What do you want? That's a critical success? What do
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: you want to happen? I rolled a three.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: I want them to just like lose the ability to
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: feel their body so they co collapse mm hmm, and
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: then say I could have made you feel pain, but
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: I made you feel nothing. Instead, tell me where he is.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: Both of their faces scrunch in fear as this happens
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: to them, and on that incredibly successful coax check, one
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: of them says, the guy who didn't threaten you. Before
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: they took him to Genesis, they had us remove a
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: piece of his memory, and then they took him to Genesis.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Where's Genesis. It's in Ask, very northern part of Ask.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: It's it's in Galileo's Grave.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Do I know what that is?
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: Roll a knowledge check? This is just like a city
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: thing five irol two. So yeah, it's Galileo's Grave. It
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: used to be known as let me see if I
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: can find what.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: It used to be known as Galileo's Goodies.
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: Classic.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: It used to be known as the Discovery District.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's Galileo's Goodies.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: Yeah, Galileo's Goodies.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: But now it is very it's fully dilapidated, and it's
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: known as Galileo's Grave.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Thank you. I'm gonna turn back on their feeling back
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: up the stairs and then erase their memory that I
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: was there.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, Cox again.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: Or knowledge cokes? You know I'm going for cokes thirteen.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: I rolled a six.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: You erase their memories.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: Jimmy, Her and I are just upstairs on the bench.

- 1:06:54Speaker 4: butlers hanging around.
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: Yeah, there are some other sex butlers hanging around. Cool.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll sidle up to one of them. You're working
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: to night, Yeah, yeah, but this is like my fifth
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: night this week. It's that same vision and then just
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: keeps coming back and eats someone to jerk him off.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: This lot of works pretty crazy, and uh, it takes
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: you to some crazy places.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: Though.
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: What's the craziest shit you've seen here?
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: It's crazy? Should I have seen here?
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: Well, you know the work they do upstairs, right, little, Well,
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: you can totally if you're Day, not if you're human
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: like us, but if you're Day, you can you can
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: totally get everything about how you look changed.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: It's crazy. What.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so I saw just a normal gray day looking
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: motherfucker go up there and came back down with horns
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: and a tail.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: They can like change the metal or something.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: They don't know how good they got it.
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: Do they.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: What's your name. My name is Chares Teres.
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: I'm Jason.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Hi Jason, I've never seen you here before. How long
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: have you been a sex butler. Oh I've been a

- 1:09:13Speaker 3: that was easy.
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: I look back at Chares and I finished writing on
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: the napkin the location of my favorite brunch spot, and
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: I say, tomorrow morning, whenever you can, I'm going to
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: be hanging.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: Out there, no pressure. Charis takes the napkin. Interesting. I
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: sleep in so late. I love a challenge, all right,
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: Jimmy or roller coke cokes? Oh man, all my, I
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: feel like all my rolls of this ship. I'm terrible
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: at one. All right, you do not know if Charise
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: is going to meet you at your favorite brunch.
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: I'm gonna get an unlimited coffee and I'm just gonna
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: sit there and see what happens.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: Can I can I see what Jamir is thinking and
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: what Chares is thinking?
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: Interesting, Go ahead and roll a sense check like what.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: They're each feeling. She's gonna reject him.
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: Roll against this, Jamir with what lie?
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: Yes, okay, my mighty D four gets more work.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: To two eleven.
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: Jimmy, how are you feeling in this moment?
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: Jimmy is like bored, horny?
- 1:10:35Speaker 6: You know.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: What else are we doing here?
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: Yeah, that's how I discribed.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: How jimire is. Charise seems uninterested.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: All right, I'm just gonna keep that over that.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: As you guys are walking out, the gentleman who greeted
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: you at the door says.
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: No visions for you today, ma'am.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Oh, nothing on the menu that I was particularly excited about.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: To be honest, what a shame.
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: We do change them every quarter.
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: Yes, maybe next time, Thank you very well, good Eve,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: Good Eve.
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: I fold up a piece of paper to look like
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: a dollar bill and I took it in his front pocket.
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: Thank you. Don't mention it.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: He has no pocket.
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I just put it, took it into It.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Is mostly naked. Thank you. You guys get out on
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: the streets.
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: Hey, A quick question, Ronnie, did you have a sex
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: butler when you were Arch Day?
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: I could have?
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: Yeah, that that job title came real quick to your mind.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: It's yeah, yeah, No, it's not not something I was
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: interested in, but I could have.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. They would have given me anything I wanted. Yeah,
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: I mean they did. They gave me anything I wanted.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: Anyways, back into the sewers, I guess. Okay, So as
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: we're going, they told me that he is in a
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: place called Genesis and Ask and Galileo's Grave. So all
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: of that sounds not ominous at all.
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: It sounds super spooky, right, maybe, uh, maybe we go
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: under the cover of darkness.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so. You'll probably need this back. I
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: just starfish, so you can.
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: I pulled my hand out and sloop all of the
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: paper off? You want your paper watch? Still? No, I'm good,
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: thank you. That was pretty neat. It took so long
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: to fold. It unfolds. It's like it works. It's like
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: telling time. Ow.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: That's incredible.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: Guys headed over there now, Yeah, all right, give me
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: a second.
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: Throw the rest of the threads at it.
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: Give me second to find the right thing. Do as
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: you walk through the tunnels and start to learn the
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: tunnel time?
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: What is it?
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: Tunnel town tube time? As you learn?
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: Oh yeah, Jamior can make a flight star? What the
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: flight I make a big flight star, and I like
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: hook my arms around. We like, uh, dorothy it with
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: a scarecrow and tin man step foresure and sorry Ronnie's
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: man for George Scarecrow.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: So much sense, prob we lead forward on my flight star.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: So give us extra speed.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: Go ahead and roll a mite check jimmiir hey, yeah something.
- 1:14:06Speaker 4: I'm good. Can I add my flight star power to that? Absolutely? Okay? Okay,
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: what die do I use for flight star? Just a default?
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: All right? That's the seventeen Oh jeez.
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: I rolled it too, so that's all.
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: Oh yeah, A critical A critical success You guys are
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: shocked here in this moment how strong Jamiir is and
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: how comfortable it is just to be held by him
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: as you zip through these tunnels on the flight.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: And I just both put our heads.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: It's so warm.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Why haven't we been doing this the whole time?
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: I'm not a thinker. I'm sorry, guys.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: This is great, this is great.
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: Yeah, you've gotten better at controlling this. I gotta say,
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: I'm working on a smooth, smooth ride.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really nice.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: Even underground in the his tunnels. The smell of old
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: chemicals and books is familiar to Jason. As you come
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: into the Ask quadrant of the city.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Assholes, obs, Ben, get your head out of the tube.
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: I'm just hearing that, Jason, stifferent. Things are coming my
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: professional sex butler. He leaned into that sex butler thing
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: a little too fat.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: I don't know, you're one to talk.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: Yeah, people, sex butlers anyway, Butlers around the water cooler.
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: As you arrive in the quadrant, Ask, got it? Dusty
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: old equations and calculations scream to be solved. As you
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: move into what used to be called the District of Discovery,
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: it's now known as Galileo's grave. You come to the
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: street level and large industrial laboratories of a past age,
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: the founding age now house uninvited and unfunded junkies and vagabonds.
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: You head towards Genesis. Everybody can roll a knowledge check here,
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: just knowledge what we roll six to ten ten, Jamir,
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: you're the only person that knows about Genesis. And I
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: don't know how you know this, but you you'd know it.
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: I know I know things. Yeah, it could certainly be well.
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: I travel around the city of superhero stuff something somehow.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: Genesis is was the first day laboratory ever found. So
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: it it was it was probably closest to what we
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: know as like an urgent care. Is like a day
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: small hospital that is far north in the city. Interesting
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: and you guys are able to find it.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: Is it still running?
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: There is electricity pulsing through.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: It because it's still open for business.
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: No, it was a It was a pinpoint of discovery
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: about day anatomy and the understanding of how they operate.
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: But it no longer runs.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: I think it probably probably acted as kind of like
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: a blueprint for other day hospitals.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: And do I sense my father in there?
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: Without a roll I duck.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: My head down back into the tube. All right, Dorothy Scarecrow,
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: he's in there. How are we going to do this?
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: Shit? I mean, this is good, this is good.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: It is it is I am. I don't know if
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: he's hostage or if he's Oh, if he's part of this.
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: Heavy well, we can go in quiet or we could
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: go in loud form a knife out of paper.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: Okay, I think I might prefer quiet, Dorothy, what do
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: you think?
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: Welton Man, You're gonna hate me for this, but I'm
- 1:18:29Speaker 4: with the crazy.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: I feel like that's a good sport.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: And this awesome, very fun. We'll be back next week
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: with another episode. Uh, and we'll go into Genesis. Is
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: Johnny the Cowardly Lion? Are you Toto? Are you the
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: Wizard of Outs? I'm the Wizard of Oz for sure?
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: Just a line.
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: He's the Wiz and he lives.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: I feel yeah. It was like we could you know,
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: assign Audre and Matt the cowardly Lion in Toto, but
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: that feels rude. Well, they they're also the Wizard of Oz.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: This is a world in which that the story could
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: be different. There doesn't have to be a cowardly Lion.
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: We wouldn't have had is Wizard of Oz is older
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: than the divergence of history here in this story.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: Right, that's true.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: Because the divergence of history was like the Great Depression.
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so the movie could be different. Yeah, the book
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: is older, right, the book is older.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: The book's really old. Looks really old. The movie I
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: think might be different version when the diversion.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: Wait, I want to get cozy in the check before
