- 0:21Speaker 1: He's got the biggest show going. They've got the biggest
- 0:24Speaker 1: show going. Part of my take, and now they have
- 0:26Speaker 1: a book app and pf T PFT commentator is with
- 0:30Speaker 1: us right now to talk about the book. Part in
- 0:32Speaker 1: my book, it's a New York Times bestseller. Congratulations to
- 0:36Speaker 1: you man, Welcome to the to the Authors Club.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I'm proud of you.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Thank you for such a humble welcoming stew You might
- 0:44Speaker 3: have just jinxed us though, because we're not we're not
- 0:46Speaker 3: New York Times bestsellers.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Oh I think you are, Yes, I do. I think
- 0:50Speaker 1: you're fifth right now. I think you're going to be
- 0:52Speaker 1: a New York Times bestseller. I was just I was
- 0:55Speaker 1: kind of predicting it for you.
- 0:56Speaker 3: You know, you're crowning us. You're crowning us beforehand. Knock
- 0:58Speaker 3: on wood. If we don't make it, I'm I'm holding
- 1:01Speaker 3: you personally responsible.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Well, why would you do that? I mean, what do
- 1:04Speaker 1: I have to do with it. I'm sitting here promoting
- 1:06Speaker 1: your book. I'm gonna make it happen for you. Right now.
- 1:08Speaker 1: I'm going to put you on the New York Times bestseller.
- 1:10Speaker 1: It's either this show or the one you're doing later
- 1:12Speaker 1: in Rowan Oake Virginia.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I mean, come on, the stew bump, this is this
- 1:17Speaker 3: is going to push us over the top. I appreciate that,
- 1:20Speaker 3: Thank you, Stu. It's you know, writing a book, it's
- 1:24Speaker 3: a lot harder than reading a book. And I say
- 1:26Speaker 3: that as somebody that doesn't read a lot of books.
- 1:27Speaker 3: But we included a lot of pictures, and you know,
- 1:32Speaker 3: there's a little something for everybody in there. My favorite
- 1:34Speaker 3: is people are going through right now and looking at
- 1:36Speaker 3: you know, some of the maybe the minor misspellings, maybe
- 1:39Speaker 3: some graphical layerors, some intentional, some otherwise. And someone pointed
- 1:43Speaker 3: out that I think it's like page nine, we open
- 1:45Speaker 3: up a parentheses and we never close that parenthesis. So
- 1:50Speaker 3: if you've got OCD, this might like really really trigger you.
- 1:56Speaker 3: But I guess that means we're gonna have to write
- 1:58Speaker 3: another book. Say we can eventually the parentheses because right now,
- 2:01Speaker 3: this conversation we're having, yeah, this is still kind of
- 2:04Speaker 3: part of the parentheses.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Telling is more important than spelling. We all know that
- 2:08Speaker 1: right in the book world, Yes.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Yeah, you're damn right.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Who came up with the name of the book, who
- 2:14Speaker 2: came up with the title.
- 2:15Speaker 3: That's a great question, Stu. Part of my book we
- 2:18Speaker 3: racked our brains. It was one of those where we
- 2:20Speaker 3: we came with probably like ten really terrible ideas and
- 2:24Speaker 3: then we're like, let's just stick with part of my book.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Let's not reinvent the wheel on this one where and
- 2:31Speaker 3: Dave took cancel me if you can, that was gonna
- 2:33Speaker 3: be ours, but Portnoy, Yeah, he scooped that from us.
- 2:37Speaker 1: What were some of the bad options left on the
- 2:39Speaker 1: cutting room floor?
- 2:39Speaker 2: Do you remember? Do you have any?
- 2:42Speaker 3: I think one that I suggested was, yeah, I bought
- 2:44Speaker 3: this book not to Brad.
- 2:47Speaker 2: That's pretty good.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I gotta be hot.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Yeah, And then like subtitle you could say, I'm a
- 2:52Speaker 3: bit of a reader, you know, just like something that
- 2:55Speaker 3: you can flex on. I forget what the other ones were,
- 2:59Speaker 3: but none, you know, it's it's simple, and it's also
- 3:02Speaker 3: very convenient that it's a lazy name for a book,
- 3:05Speaker 3: but I think I think it's the right name for
- 3:06Speaker 3: this book. Yeah.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Part of my book ten Years of the Best and
- 3:10Speaker 1: Worst in Sports from part of my take. I like
- 3:13Speaker 1: what you did there with the ten years. So now
- 3:14Speaker 1: you have a part too, right you mentioned that earlier.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Now you can do the second half, right, that's why
- 3:19Speaker 1: you did it, correct, Yeah, I mean we.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Kind of set us up ourselves up for a sequel,
- 3:22Speaker 3: but we're booked out at this point, right, Yes, you know,
- 3:26Speaker 3: the last six months or so of actually putting pin
- 3:30Speaker 3: to paper and doing the writing that was it was
- 3:33Speaker 3: more work than we thought that it would be. So
- 3:35Speaker 3: I think, you know, maybe another after ten years, maybe
- 3:37Speaker 3: we'll do part two.
- 3:38Speaker 1: So the problem with writing another book is you have
- 3:40Speaker 1: to stay with Cats for another ten years.
- 3:42Speaker 3: I mean, true, true, that's kind that's kind of part
- 3:46Speaker 3: of the deal. Or we break up, we write each
- 3:49Speaker 3: own book.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yes, that's what I did.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, yeah, and then when you get back together,
- 3:54Speaker 3: then you can write that book again. And life is
- 3:57Speaker 3: just a never ending series of like promoting and creating
- 4:00Speaker 3: content for your next book.
- 4:02Speaker 1: How was the process of writing the book? It's tough, right,
- 4:05Speaker 1: it was difficult, I imagine, Yeah.
- 4:07Speaker 3: I mean, it's uh, it actually was. We thought that
- 4:10Speaker 3: we had it all figured out. We thought we outsmarted
- 4:12Speaker 3: the world, and we hired a ghostwriter and he came
- 4:16Speaker 3: in and we record a bunch of interviews with him.
- 4:19Speaker 3: We sat down, I think we scheduled out like two
- 4:21Speaker 3: hours every Friday for like a month or two. We
- 4:25Speaker 3: would sit down and have a conversation talking through like
- 4:27Speaker 3: the most important times and the craziest moments in the
- 4:30Speaker 3: show's history. And then our ghostwriter, Matt would go away
- 4:33Speaker 3: and he'd write something and then bring it back. And
- 4:36Speaker 3: he's a great guy, great writer. He did also all
- 4:39Speaker 3: the interviews. The smartest thing that we did in this
- 4:42Speaker 3: book was we had people that were guests on our
- 4:46Speaker 3: show come in and write a chapter for our book, right,
- 4:49Speaker 3: and so like that's that takes care of like a
- 4:51Speaker 3: quarter of it.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Anyways, Yeah, I've never heard of that concept before. I mean, jeez, you.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Understand the art of the fin yes, right, yes, and
- 5:01Speaker 3: uh and and that those parts turned out great. But
- 5:04Speaker 3: then we read the parts that Matt wrote in our voice,
- 5:06Speaker 3: and like we were very naive to think that a
- 5:08Speaker 3: ghostwriter could fully adapt our voice just from you know,
- 5:12Speaker 3: a few weeks hanging out with us. And he did
- 5:15Speaker 3: a great job in setting up like all the chapters
- 5:18Speaker 3: and the outlines and the interviews that he did with
- 5:21Speaker 3: the different athletes and personalities that we had write their
- 5:23Speaker 3: own chapter. But when it came to our voice telling
- 5:25Speaker 3: the story of you know, some of the historical parts
- 5:28Speaker 3: of our pod. We read it and we thought, our
- 5:30Speaker 3: listeners are gonna see this and they're gonna know that
- 5:32Speaker 3: it's not actually all work yes, and that that kind
- 5:35Speaker 3: of sucks, and we don't want that. So we we said, Matt,
- 5:38Speaker 3: you did a great job. We appreciate everything. We're gonna
- 5:40Speaker 3: go back. We're gonna use your outline and some of
- 5:43Speaker 3: the you know, facts that you've you've written down for
- 5:45Speaker 3: us here to kind of like keep us in line,
- 5:48Speaker 3: but we're gonna do some of that heavy lifting on
- 5:50Speaker 3: our own. So then that was like a two three
- 5:52Speaker 3: week mad dash where it felt like we were in
- 5:54Speaker 3: college all over again. Just we had deadlines and stuff
- 5:57Speaker 3: and and and uh shout out to Dom Big Cat's
- 6:00Speaker 3: assistant who really kind of spearheaded turning that outline and
- 6:05Speaker 3: like keeping us honest with like turning in assignments and stuff,
- 6:07Speaker 3: because without that never would have happened. But at the
- 6:10Speaker 3: end of the day, we have a book that we're
- 6:12Speaker 3: proud of that we feel like conveys our voice and
- 6:15Speaker 3: our thoughts accurately. So it was a labor of love
- 6:19Speaker 3: and I don't want to do it again for another
- 6:20Speaker 3: ten years.
- 6:22Speaker 1: The show is so great, and you guys have worked
- 6:23Speaker 1: so hard to build this show.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Was it fun? Was it gratifying to relive the first
- 6:28Speaker 2: ten years? It had to be?
- 6:29Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, I don't know about you and how you
- 6:32Speaker 3: kind of like look back on anything that you accomplished
- 6:35Speaker 3: or like major moments that happened in your life. But
- 6:38Speaker 3: we don't really We're not really like celebration guys, so
- 6:43Speaker 3: we don't take that much time to think about something
- 6:45Speaker 3: that we've done, or like a cool moment that we
- 6:48Speaker 3: had as a podcast, or like different milestones that we've hit.
- 6:52Speaker 4: So this is really the first.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Time that we've sat down and gone through some of
- 6:55Speaker 3: those major moments in the podcast, and it did. It
- 6:58Speaker 3: was like a little bit emotional. It did bring out
- 7:00Speaker 3: some feelings that I haven't thought that I haven't felt,
- 7:03Speaker 3: I haven't thought about in years, and going through some
- 7:06Speaker 3: of the old pictures that Hank put in there that
- 7:08Speaker 3: I haven't seen were it was really cool. And so
- 7:11Speaker 3: I think it was you know, I hope people really
- 7:13Speaker 3: enjoy it. I hope they get a lot out of it.
- 7:15Speaker 3: And also at the same time, like I got a
- 7:18Speaker 3: lot out of writing it and out of reading what
- 7:20Speaker 3: Big Cat and Hank and Zach and Max what they
- 7:23Speaker 3: all contributed as well. Zach might be a star, by
- 7:26Speaker 3: the way, he might be. If there's an author amongst us,
- 7:29Speaker 3: it might be Zach. His chapter on ice.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Cream STU it is.
- 7:33Speaker 3: It is unbelievable. I move over hardcore history because like
- 7:37Speaker 3: the history of ice cream through the eyes of Zach
- 7:39Speaker 3: Cornelius is absolutely incredible. He he we told him not
- 7:47Speaker 3: to edit anything that Zach wrote. He spelled hogendas h O,
- 7:53Speaker 3: G and sign da Z like Ben and Jerry's. He
- 7:58Speaker 3: thinks that every ice stream companies like Ben and Jerry's, Wod's,
- 8:01Speaker 3: two Guys, Right.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Basket and Robins.
- 8:08Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, exactly.
- 8:10Speaker 3: So it was it was cool get to read those
- 8:12Speaker 3: guys chapters as well. And Memes tried to what his
- 8:15Speaker 3: chapter I think was like how to fix the Jets?
- 8:17Speaker 4: And I believe yes, I think.
- 8:20Speaker 3: That guy like in the time in between when we
- 8:22Speaker 3: sent the book to be published and uh and when
- 8:24Speaker 3: it came out, like four things happened that now make
- 8:28Speaker 3: Memes his theey on how to fix the jets completely?
- 8:31Speaker 2: They can't be fixed.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Who's the celebrity that you tried to get to write
- 8:35Speaker 1: a chapter that you couldn't get Oh that's.
- 8:39Speaker 4: A good question.
- 8:41Speaker 3: I don't know who who we reached out to that
- 8:43Speaker 3: might have said no.
- 8:45Speaker 2: For me, it was Wilbond.
- 8:46Speaker 3: I mean, oh really you asked him. He said no,
- 8:49Speaker 3: he's a busy man.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I asked him right the forward, Dan got offended. Will
- 8:52Speaker 1: Bond said no, and then they had to go with Lebantard.
- 8:54Speaker 5: I mean.
- 8:56Speaker 4: So we actually we.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Just had seth Wickersham in the studio today and he
- 9:01Speaker 3: told us the story about how he was working at
- 9:03Speaker 3: the Washington Post as an intern back in the day
- 9:05Speaker 3: and Mike Wilbons his license plate was press box.
- 9:09Speaker 4: How classy is that? How cool is that?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Right?
- 9:11Speaker 3: Amazing Jay's stuff?
- 9:13Speaker 4: Yeah, car, he doesn't.
- 9:18Speaker 1: He where's that cubs though? I can tell you that much.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Yeah, that'll set some people off.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, you have to have a lanyard on to
- 9:26Speaker 3: get into the back seat of that thing.
- 9:27Speaker 4: I'm trying.
- 9:27Speaker 3: I'm looking at the cover right now. I'm trying to
- 9:29Speaker 3: see if we asked anybody. I think we asked. We
- 9:33Speaker 3: might have asked Harbaugh to write a chapter and he
- 9:36Speaker 3: might have just not gotten back. Oh, Josh Allen, I
- 9:39Speaker 3: don't think now I might embarrass myself here because Josh
- 9:43Speaker 3: might have wrote a chapter.
- 9:44Speaker 1: It'd be if he has a chapter in the book.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I made that mistake, by the way, promoting the book.
- 9:52Speaker 4: It was last minute. It was last minute.
- 9:53Speaker 3: So Josh was tough to get in touch with because yeah,
- 9:57Speaker 3: we finally got him, so he did. He did do
- 9:59Speaker 3: the chapter at the end, so I would say him,
- 10:01Speaker 3: he's probably oh, and so Jim harball at the last minute.
- 10:04Speaker 4: They both said yes.
- 10:05Speaker 3: So I guess we had a couple of last minute
- 10:07Speaker 3: close calls where they said, yeah, we'll do it and
- 10:10Speaker 3: then they just kind of put it off for a
- 10:11Speaker 3: long time. Yes, but they finally came through.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Wait, so both the guys that you gave me for
- 10:16Speaker 1: most disappointed you could get him the writer chapter in
- 10:19Speaker 1: the book. Both wrote a chapter in the book. God,
- 10:21Speaker 1: I am proud of you.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Yeah, i'd forgotten that they they finally made it happen.
- 10:26Speaker 3: I mean, Josh's credit, he's had a really cool offseason. He's,
- 10:29Speaker 3: you know, a happy man right now, newlywed, newlywed guy.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Uh and so he's obviously gonna be busy the months
- 10:36Speaker 3: in between February and training camp. But he did actually
- 10:40Speaker 3: get back to us, so shout out to him.
- 10:42Speaker 2: So the answer is no one, go ahead tell no one.
- 10:45Speaker 6: Has the show kept is the show kept getting bigger
- 10:48Speaker 6: and bigger? Who was the person that you've been most
- 10:51Speaker 6: surprised to find out is a fan of part of
- 10:53Speaker 6: my take?
- 10:54Speaker 3: Ooh, okay, that's another that's another good question too. They're
- 10:58Speaker 3: sometimes we get like musicians that hit us up and
- 11:02Speaker 3: they're like, yeah, we listened to the show. So I
- 11:05Speaker 3: would say, like on that lines, I think wile A
- 11:09Speaker 3: is a fan.
- 11:10Speaker 4: That was cool.
- 11:12Speaker 3: The band uh, let's see the band Goose. They're all
- 11:16Speaker 3: fans of the show. They were here in studio. There
- 11:21Speaker 3: have been yeah, mount Joy, those guys are incredible. Dudes
- 11:25Speaker 3: love them. I think there's a lot of musicians that
- 11:27Speaker 3: you don't really think about, Like country singers have have
- 11:31Speaker 3: hit us up and they be like, yeah, I listened.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Like there'll be sometimes where like a new name will
- 11:36Speaker 3: win an event on the PGA tour and I'll just
- 11:38Speaker 3: like look at their Twitter bio and then it's like, oh,
- 11:41Speaker 3: they follow me, Oh they ship they might listen to
- 11:44Speaker 3: the show. Like that's kind of weird. I you know,
- 11:47Speaker 3: one of the things that I had heard was was
- 11:49Speaker 3: Bryson was a listener of the show and and he
- 11:53Speaker 3: would like listen to us on the on the range,
- 11:56Speaker 3: and then he may have stopped listening to the show
- 11:58Speaker 3: because we we might have made a couple jokes when
- 12:01Speaker 3: he tried to call and Ruse a fish a little
- 12:03Speaker 3: b fire and ant one time. But actually I think
- 12:06Speaker 3: the funniest one and it's not really part of my take,
- 12:09Speaker 3: but just Barstool in general, Scotty Shuffler, So I don't
- 12:12Speaker 3: think Scotty listens to part of my take. But he's
- 12:15Speaker 3: a massive fan of Stu Finer, and so he listens
- 12:19Speaker 3: and watches the Barstool Sports Advisors. Every Sunday he goes
- 12:23Speaker 3: to church and then afterwards he watches Stu Finer just
- 12:27Speaker 3: scream into the camera about God knows what and what
- 12:30Speaker 3: bets he likes in the NFL games coming up. Yeah,
- 12:33Speaker 3: And it's just so funny to think about Scotty like
- 12:35Speaker 3: that's how he spends his Sunday mornings.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Yes, church and yeah, yeah, a big two yeah, unbelievable PFD.
- 12:45Speaker 1: When did you realize was there a moment for you?
- 12:47Speaker 1: I remember doing it building the show with Dan, and
- 12:50Speaker 1: there were a couple of moments where I remember, oh.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Man, we made it, We made it big.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Was there a moment for you and Big Kat where
- 12:56Speaker 1: you realized, oh my god, we got something here.
- 12:58Speaker 2: This is going to be a monster.
- 13:00Speaker 3: I think when I got invited to participate in your
- 13:03Speaker 3: live show in New York City, I think that was
- 13:05Speaker 3: that was really cool, great moment.
- 13:07Speaker 4: That's an awesome moment. Jesus, it was a great show.
- 13:14Speaker 3: I think for us, it was probably pretty early on
- 13:19Speaker 3: we didn't really expect the response to our first interview
- 13:24Speaker 3: with Blake Griffin to be what it was, where all
- 13:27Speaker 3: of a sudden, the small stories he was telling us
- 13:29Speaker 3: were becoming, you know, stories in sports ilitary dot com
- 13:33Speaker 3: and it was making news. We didn't expect that when
- 13:36Speaker 3: we had Kyle Wiltscher on the show that he would
- 13:39Speaker 3: talk about Adam Morrison's Apocalypse bunker and then that would
- 13:42Speaker 3: become national news. But then we learned, okay, this is
- 13:45Speaker 3: you know what you do when you have a controversy.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Then now we have to have Adam Morrison on the
- 13:49Speaker 3: show to get his side of the Apocalypse sports story.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Yes, and that's how you do it. That's how he
- 13:54Speaker 4: keeps the cycle going.
- 13:55Speaker 3: And then at Adam Morrison came on the show, and
- 13:57Speaker 3: he denied having an apocalypse bunker in a way that
- 14:00Speaker 3: sure seemed he made it seem like he did have
- 14:03Speaker 3: in the backclips bumper and he's like, it's not really
- 14:06Speaker 3: a bunker. There's like only a few guns, and I
- 14:10Speaker 3: don't even have that much canned food, but it's it
- 14:14Speaker 3: seemed like it might be bunker adjacent. And then there
- 14:18Speaker 3: was another moment. It's like a really small one. But
- 14:20Speaker 3: we had a We had Ryan Whitney on the show,
- 14:23Speaker 3: who's currently, you know, a podcast star of his own,
- 14:26Speaker 3: but he was he wasn't at that point. He might
- 14:29Speaker 3: have still been maybe just recently retired from the NHL.
- 14:32Speaker 3: And he talked to us about how he would spend
- 14:35Speaker 3: his summer breaks back in Situate, Massachusetts with Hank and
- 14:39Speaker 3: he'd go to this one beach and he'd be gassing
- 14:41Speaker 3: beers and chuck and nuts was the phrase that he
- 14:44Speaker 3: gave us, And so we just put that on a
- 14:46Speaker 3: T shirt. And I moved to New York because the
- 14:49Speaker 3: whole company was moving to New York, and I went
- 14:52Speaker 3: out to this wing place my first day there, and
- 14:55Speaker 3: the waiter came up to me and he was wearing
- 14:56Speaker 3: a gas and Beers and chuck and nuts shirt and
- 14:59Speaker 3: that was a first place I went out in New
- 15:00Speaker 3: York and I was like, wow, this does have like
- 15:03Speaker 3: that's pretty incredible. And that was a moment where it's like, Okay,
- 15:06Speaker 3: people are listening to me. As much as I try
- 15:10Speaker 3: not to think about it, I don't know how you
- 15:12Speaker 3: guys operate, but like, I don't like to think about
- 15:15Speaker 3: the number of people that hear my takes. Like it's
- 15:18Speaker 3: just a conversation kind of in this room, and then
- 15:21Speaker 3: what happens after he gets out there. That's between you know,
- 15:24Speaker 3: them and the Lord. But I can't think about that
- 15:27Speaker 3: many people hearing me talk.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I just imagine everyone's listening to my take. I mean,
- 15:31Speaker 1: I have to be honest with you, so it's odd
- 15:33Speaker 1: that you don't.
- 15:34Speaker 2: But that's validating.
- 15:35Speaker 1: When you see someone wearing a T shirt, it validates
- 15:37Speaker 1: what it is you're doing, right, Yeah.
- 15:39Speaker 3: And then it does so I felt like a big
- 15:42Speaker 3: shot and I was like, man, look at us moving
- 15:44Speaker 3: all this merch.
- 15:44Speaker 4: That's pretty cool. I went back and looked at the numbers.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I think we sold like seven shirts that said gas
- 15:49Speaker 3: and beers and chucking ducks. It just happened to be
- 15:51Speaker 3: this one guy had.
- 15:52Speaker 5: One yes pft.
- 16:05Speaker 6: Speaking of big shots ESPN the canceling Barstool Van Talk
- 16:10Speaker 6: after one episode, it feels like that was almost a
- 16:12Speaker 6: blessing in disguise, because do you think pardon my take
- 16:15Speaker 6: becomes what it is today if you guys had to
- 16:17Speaker 6: juggle that show and the podcast A good question?
- 16:20Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean, I absolutely not. I think there
- 16:25Speaker 3: were so many red flags in the days and months
- 16:28Speaker 3: leading up to that show that we just we just
- 16:30Speaker 3: blew right past them and we had, you know, the
- 16:33Speaker 3: blinders on. We just wanted to be on TV. It's like,
- 16:36Speaker 3: one day we'll be on ESPN. That's pretty cool.
- 16:38Speaker 4: They weren't. They weren't gonna pay us.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I think me and Big Kat we're gonna make something
- 16:43Speaker 3: like I don't think we're gonna make any any money
- 16:45Speaker 3: at all. I think Barstool was gonna make like fifteen
- 16:48Speaker 3: thousand dollars off this first season, and all that money
- 16:52Speaker 3: was going to go to hiring like an assistant producer
- 16:55Speaker 3: for the show. So ESPN was going to get our
- 16:59Speaker 3: TV show. We weren't going to get paid any money
- 17:01Speaker 3: for it. We were going to have to work an
- 17:03Speaker 3: additional forty hours a week probably on the show, and
- 17:07Speaker 3: it would have been a disaster. We've been burnt out.
- 17:10Speaker 3: The show probably wouldn't have been any good at all
- 17:11Speaker 3: by the end of it because we're working all these
- 17:13Speaker 3: different all these different gigs here. And Yeah, we learned
- 17:17Speaker 3: a lot of lessons from that, and maybe the biggest
- 17:20Speaker 3: one was just that just because people tell you something
- 17:24Speaker 3: might be a good idea, you don't have to listen
- 17:27Speaker 3: to people like people don't know they might. You might
- 17:29Speaker 3: run into people in the business that think that they
- 17:31Speaker 3: know what's best for you, but at the end of
- 17:33Speaker 3: the day, they think they know what's best for them, yes,
- 17:36Speaker 3: and you're just a piece in their own plan that
- 17:39Speaker 3: they're trying to pull off. Yes, and uh.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Them correct exactly exactly.
- 17:45Speaker 3: So there are so many, so many warning flags going
- 17:48Speaker 3: into that whole thing. And we told a bunch of
- 17:51Speaker 3: stories that we haven't we haven't shared before, but one
- 17:54Speaker 3: of them in the book was I took a meeting.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Let's see, it was with uh So, the vice president
- 18:00Speaker 3: that used to always be late coming into all the meetings.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Was an interesting one. And then afterwards, as my contract
- 18:08Speaker 3: is coming up, I took a meeting with the guy
- 18:10Speaker 3: that would come to be known as Suitman from the
- 18:13Speaker 3: Color Daddy Fiasco of twenty twenty.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Yes, and this is right before that.
- 18:17Speaker 3: And so he was trying to explain what he's at
- 18:20Speaker 3: HBO and where I might fit into that equation and
- 18:23Speaker 3: some ideas he had for my career and how barstool
- 18:26Speaker 3: might be holding me back in a certain regard, and
- 18:29Speaker 3: how that could all be you know, something that's behind
- 18:31Speaker 3: us if I worked for HBO. And I just remember
- 18:33Speaker 3: walking out of that meeting and saying, like, seems like
- 18:36Speaker 3: a smart guy knows what he's talking about, But I
- 18:38Speaker 3: don't think that he actually knows what I do, right,
- 18:40Speaker 3: because I think he just knows in theory that people
- 18:44Speaker 3: listen to me sometimes. But some of the suggestions was
- 18:49Speaker 3: like you could be uh, like I can see you
- 18:51Speaker 3: be in the next Jimmy Kimmel. It's like, I don't know,
- 18:54Speaker 3: like how much you know about me or like what
- 18:55Speaker 3: I like my skill set. I don't think that I'm
- 18:58Speaker 3: going to be the next Jimmy Kimmel. I think that
- 19:01Speaker 3: I'm just gonna try to be the best met that
- 19:02Speaker 3: I could. But you know, and then a few months
- 19:05Speaker 3: later you learned that, oh wow, this guy is like
- 19:07Speaker 3: trying to break up. Call her daddy too, and he's
- 19:10Speaker 3: he ran the Sofia playbook on me, right, So that
- 19:13Speaker 3: was that was kind of a funny moment. We tell
- 19:15Speaker 3: that story in the book and a few other things
- 19:18Speaker 3: about that whole era.
- 19:20Speaker 4: But the good news is we've learned.
- 19:22Speaker 3: You learned a lot from those types of situations, and
- 19:25Speaker 3: we were very naive when it came to the business
- 19:27Speaker 3: of sports media, and I think that was a big
- 19:30Speaker 3: time eye opening moment for us.
- 19:31Speaker 6: Hefty. I love how creative you are and outside the
- 19:35Speaker 6: box thinking you have when it comes to football. I
- 19:37Speaker 6: have a rule I want to pitch to you, and
- 19:38Speaker 6: if you like it, you can have it.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Okay, wow, Okay, I mean well football.
- 19:42Speaker 6: It's it's the backup quarterback rule. You can only use
- 19:46Speaker 6: it once a game and using a decibel meter, if
- 19:50Speaker 6: fans chant for the other team's backup quarterback loudly enough,
- 19:53Speaker 6: the coach has to put him in the game. I
- 19:56Speaker 6: like that advantage.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that. Which team do you think like
- 20:01Speaker 3: would get the loudest Arrowhead Stadium? Like breaks the way
- 20:05Speaker 3: it goes back and forth between them and Seattle.
- 20:06Speaker 4: Who the loudest is I think.
- 20:12Speaker 3: I mean if if the Rams, no, no, if the
- 20:15Speaker 3: Cardinals went up to Seattle, I could see that crowd
- 20:18Speaker 3: getting very loud for Carson Beck. See that happening. But
- 20:22Speaker 3: then you gotta be careful what you wish for. You
- 20:23Speaker 3: might have your mo Lewis moment. Like I'm sure I'm
- 20:26Speaker 3: sure Jets fans would have been cheering for Tom Brady
- 20:29Speaker 3: to come in, right.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but why cheer for Carson Beck when you're playing
- 20:32Speaker 1: against Jacobe Brissette.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I mean, just leave him in there?
- 20:34Speaker 3: Who cares put a little respect on his name to
- 20:37Speaker 3: that man, he had the most successful holdout of the offseason.
- 20:41Speaker 3: I don't know if I was enthralled by that holdout.
- 20:43Speaker 3: I don't know if you felt the same way. But
- 20:46Speaker 3: like Jacoby Pressett, he had the Cardinals over a barrel.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Yes, I didn't know he had to holdout in him
- 20:51Speaker 1: left like I was like, what do you mean? It's
- 20:53Speaker 1: Jacobysett towards the end of his career.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I think he never held out before, and so he
- 20:58Speaker 3: was like, before I'm gone, I wanted I want to
- 21:01Speaker 3: get one holdout, bucket list holdout, yeah, bucketless holdout yes,
- 21:04Speaker 3: And now he wishes he had done it more right,
- 21:06Speaker 3: I mean yeah, now it's like ship man, You're.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Okay, you could cares. The guys were making fun of me.
- 21:13Speaker 1: What's the worst take? We play a game around here
- 21:15Speaker 1: called worst take. Okay, they were making fun of me.
- 21:18Speaker 1: I made two within the same show. The first one
- 21:21Speaker 1: was Seattle, who won the Super Bowl last year, would
- 21:23Speaker 1: not make the playoffs this year. The other one was
- 21:26Speaker 1: if Ryan Day went winless this entire season, he would
- 21:29Speaker 1: still get his job back at Ohio State next season.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Which one it's it's ridiculous.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I have him losing the ball state in Kent
- 21:37Speaker 1: State and still get it's still getting get what's the
- 21:42Speaker 1: worst thing.
- 21:43Speaker 4: The worst take that that I've ever had?
- 21:45Speaker 2: Well, of those two and then you've ever had, Yes, let's.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Do that between those two. Okay, I'll evaluate your takes.
- 21:51Speaker 3: I think that.
- 21:53Speaker 4: See, not making the playoffs isn't crazy.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 21:56Speaker 3: That's not it's it's a good take bad it's dumb, right,
- 21:59Speaker 3: thank you.
- 21:59Speaker 4: It's it's like, it's like pretty.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Stupid, but it's not. It's not one of the worst
- 22:03Speaker 3: takes that I've ever heard. Yeah, it's pretty dumb. I
- 22:07Speaker 3: think that you know, there is a world out there
- 22:09Speaker 3: where the Niners and the Rams they make the playoffs,
- 22:12Speaker 3: Seattle doesn't little super Bowl hangover that happens to the
- 22:15Speaker 3: best of us. But yeah, Ohio State, I would say
- 22:19Speaker 3: if they lost, if they went over, I don't think actually,
- 22:25Speaker 3: I don't think it's possible.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not.
- 22:27Speaker 3: I think that. I think if they lost their first
- 22:30Speaker 3: six games, you'd probably be fired.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Well, first three. I think two of the first three
- 22:33Speaker 1: are Kent State and the other state.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and Ball State. He loses those two, he's fired, right, Yeah,
- 22:38Speaker 2: three games.
- 22:39Speaker 3: There's gonna be a lot of questions asked at that point. Yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 3: all right, so yeah, easily, that would easily.
- 22:43Speaker 2: What's your worst take of all to ten years.
- 22:47Speaker 3: I don't even know if you can consider this a
- 22:49Speaker 3: takes as much. It was like a dumb idea. I
- 22:53Speaker 3: was convinced that Giannis could dunk a free throw, and
- 22:59Speaker 3: that it would that it might maybe maybe by the
- 23:02Speaker 3: letter of the law, it might not be illegal. I
- 23:06Speaker 3: was like, what if he jumps in the air and
- 23:08Speaker 3: he like gets above the remedy, throws it down really
- 23:11Speaker 3: fast and the ball goes through and hits the ground
- 23:14Speaker 3: before his feet land, is that technically a lane violation,
- 23:18Speaker 3: and everybody.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Was like, yes, yes it is, it's it's of course
- 23:21Speaker 4: for a sure lane violation.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yes.
- 23:23Speaker 4: I was like, but what is that?
- 23:24Speaker 3: Is there like airspace above the foul line that you
- 23:28Speaker 3: can't violate? How does that work? I thought it was
- 23:29Speaker 3: when you're feet at the ground. Yeah, so yeah, that's
- 23:32Speaker 3: I had like a five minute take where I thought
- 23:35Speaker 3: that was the answer to his his free throw wolves PFT.
- 23:39Speaker 6: As an alum, if we were baking a credit pie,
- 23:41Speaker 6: how much credit does jam you get for Indiana's national
- 23:44Speaker 6: championship in football? Since you guys are the ones who
- 23:47Speaker 6: kind of birthed Kirk Signetti.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that that's probably, uh, that's probably seventy
- 23:53Speaker 3: five percent at least hang the remaining Yeah, they'll give
- 23:57Speaker 3: the remaining twenty five to Fernando Mendoza. But listen, if
- 24:01Speaker 3: you look at the first guys that touched the trophy
- 24:04Speaker 3: after they won, it was four guys that were all
- 24:07Speaker 3: Jmut transfers. They were the first ones there on the
- 24:09Speaker 3: field that held it up. So actually, I'm gonna go
- 24:12Speaker 3: seventy JMU. I'm gonna go fifteen percent, yeah Mendoza, and
- 24:19Speaker 3: then ten percent. I'm gonna go with Mike Kadik, who
- 24:22Speaker 3: really changed the culture at Indiana before leaving to become
- 24:26Speaker 3: a Barstool Sports employee. He was their center for a
- 24:30Speaker 3: few years, so everything after him was great.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Indiana basketball school or football school.
- 24:36Speaker 4: I'd say it's a football state.
- 24:39Speaker 3: In forty nine other states, it's just football in Indiana,
- 24:43Speaker 3: it's life. I mean, Indiana is not only national champions.
- 24:46Speaker 3: They're getting the Bears. They'll probably have the Bengals in
- 24:50Speaker 3: a couple of years. They might have the Lions. At
- 24:52Speaker 3: some point, maybe the Chiefs might move to Indiana's every
- 24:56Speaker 3: state that's near No no state is safe, right, Ma
- 25:00Speaker 3: and Stu's words. Make no mistake about it. Indiana's coming
- 25:04Speaker 3: for your football teams.
- 25:05Speaker 5: Yes.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Part of my book Ten Years of the Best and
- 25:08Speaker 1: Worst in Sports from part of my take by it
- 25:11Speaker 1: wherever you get your books. So you have inspired Taylor
- 25:14Speaker 1: here with your fastest two minutes. He puts something together
- 25:18Speaker 1: baseball wise, Taylor, why don't you set this up? It's
- 25:20Speaker 1: a it's Chris Berman calling a baseball game.
- 25:23Speaker 6: Yeah, so it's opening day. It was Red's Red Sox A.
- 25:27Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure it was a three to nothing win.
- 25:30Speaker 6: But I love the fastest two minutes and I love
- 25:32Speaker 6: the again the creativity that it comes with writing. So
- 25:35Speaker 6: this was that segment. We go out to Cincinnati to
- 25:39Speaker 6: Great American Ballpark, or as I like to call it,
- 25:42Speaker 6: Late American Ballpark because we're still waiting for the Reds
- 25:45Speaker 6: offense to show up on the bump. For Boston, it
- 25:49Speaker 6: was Garrett croch Ay.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Can you see he throws.
- 25:54Speaker 6: Six scoreless innings in his season debut. It's leading the
- 25:57Speaker 6: way for the Socks. At the plate, it was roaming
- 26:00Speaker 6: Carmelo Anthony for three hits, and Jaron Duran. Duran, who
- 26:06Speaker 6: was hungry like a wolf for this season to get started,
- 26:09Speaker 6: said forget your state farm, forget your all steak. I've
- 26:12Speaker 6: got your insurance right here, adding that third run for
- 26:16Speaker 6: good measure in the ninth, then in for the save.
- 26:19Speaker 6: It was a raaldish chap Man. I feel like a woman,
- 26:23Speaker 6: much like my woman watching sports with me. The only
- 26:27Speaker 6: thing he wanted was for that game to end Red
- 26:29Speaker 6: Sox three, Red zero.
- 26:32Speaker 4: It's pretty good good. That was good stuff. I say
- 26:37Speaker 4: that has a great boomerang tip my hat to that.
- 26:41Speaker 3: One One of my favorite things is when somebody does
- 26:44Speaker 3: like a Chris Berman style like fastest two minutes and
- 26:48Speaker 3: people are like, why are you ripping off part of
- 26:50Speaker 3: my take?
- 26:51Speaker 5: Right?
- 26:51Speaker 3: And they don't like some people don't understand, like, no,
- 26:54Speaker 3: this is Chris, it's Chris Berman, Like it's not part
- 26:56Speaker 3: of my take.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but you did it first, you know, sports radio,
- 27:00Speaker 1: you know podcasting, or.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Like somebody says they do a Mount Rushmore in the summertime,
- 27:06Speaker 3: like a local Mount ruck. Oh what do you think
- 27:08Speaker 3: is on the Mount Rushmore of Houston athletes? You know
- 27:11Speaker 3: that daytime sports if you're if you run a station
- 27:14Speaker 3: in in southeast Texas and people like, why are you
- 27:16Speaker 3: ripping off part of my take? It's like no, like
- 27:18Speaker 3: everyone Mount Rushmore. That's how people got through the summertimes
- 27:22Speaker 3: in sports talk radio. Correct, And so we just wanted
- 27:25Speaker 3: to do that but way over the top, But those
- 27:28Speaker 3: are always funny moments.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Well we stole it from me. We have an entire
- 27:31Speaker 1: day dedicated to it, Mount Rushmore Mondays. So I mean, yeah, yeah,
- 27:35Speaker 1: that's what we do. I mean, we're all thieves in
- 27:37Speaker 1: this business, aren't we. I mean seriously pretty much.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:40Speaker 1: I mean you take an idea from someone else. It
- 27:42Speaker 1: could be a small little local show and rowing out
- 27:44Speaker 1: Virginia and just hope that no one calls you out
- 27:46Speaker 1: on it, you know, Yeah.
- 27:47Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, that's how it's done.
- 27:48Speaker 3: It's almost like, yeah, it's an homage, and that's how
- 27:52Speaker 3: That's how half of popular music got started in the
- 27:54Speaker 3: United States. It's like you, here's some band in a
- 27:57Speaker 3: in a dive bar, and you're like, I like the
- 27:58Speaker 3: sound of that.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Had to cash in.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna get you out of here in just
- 28:03Speaker 1: a second part of my book. By it wherever you
- 28:05Speaker 1: get your books. The biggest fight you and Big Cat
- 28:08Speaker 1: have ever gotten into?
- 28:10Speaker 4: Biggest fight?
- 28:11Speaker 2: Yeah, do you guys fight?
- 28:14Speaker 4: We don't know.
- 28:14Speaker 1: We don't really fight because I know you love each
- 28:16Speaker 1: other and you respect each other, and that's what makes
- 28:18Speaker 1: it work. I'm just wondering if there was, if there's
- 28:20Speaker 1: ever been a fight that's yeah.
- 28:21Speaker 3: We don't we don't really fight. The only time that
- 28:23Speaker 3: we've kind of fought was over a dipspit bottle. Okay,
- 28:27Speaker 3: and this was probably like seven years ago. I was
- 28:32Speaker 3: spinning into like a mountain dew bottle. Pretty gross at
- 28:35Speaker 3: the time, I'll admit that, But like we were all
- 28:37Speaker 3: spin into weird stuff back then, you know, it's it's
- 28:40Speaker 3: just the era.
- 28:41Speaker 5: Uh.
- 28:42Speaker 4: But Big Cat also had a dip spit bottle.
- 28:44Speaker 3: I left mine that was like probably three quarters filled
- 28:48Speaker 3: with dipspit behind him in the studio, and then I
- 28:51Speaker 3: didn't remember leaving it there. I thought i'd thrown it out,
- 28:54Speaker 3: and somebody asked, like, whose dipspit bottle is at? I
- 28:56Speaker 3: was like, it's not mine, and because like, yes it is,
- 28:59Speaker 3: it's over the years, and yeah, it probably what was mine,
- 29:04Speaker 3: but I did not remember leaving it there. So I
- 29:07Speaker 3: fought those allegations for probably like two or three days
- 29:12Speaker 3: until I finally relented when I was again, okay, is
- 29:14Speaker 3: my dip spit right?
- 29:15Speaker 4: Are you happy? I admit it?
- 29:17Speaker 3: But sometimes guys don't want to admit that they did
- 29:19Speaker 3: anything wrong.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Of course you're you're a massive Commanders fan scale of
- 29:23Speaker 1: one to ten. Your concern level on Jaden Daniel's mom, Well.
- 29:28Speaker 4: I can't say it's a five, so I would say.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Out of respect, got of respect.
- 29:34Speaker 3: But you know what I was thinking about though, because
- 29:36Speaker 3: like all the brands are having their day with the
- 29:38Speaker 3: memes out there. If you if you are a social
- 29:42Speaker 3: media manager for a brand and you have not made
- 29:44Speaker 3: a number five joke in the last three days, what.
- 29:47Speaker 4: Are you doing?
- 29:47Speaker 3: You're as good as fired say, on top of the trends,
- 29:50Speaker 3: but the brands are all over it. I've seen all
- 29:52Speaker 3: the memes. They're pretty funny. But I was also allowing
- 29:55Speaker 3: myself to think yesterday, if he balls out, if he
- 29:59Speaker 3: has an awesome sea and those number five memes are
- 30:02Speaker 3: all they're flipping, and now they're becoming positive where I'm
- 30:05Speaker 3: going to be making those same jokes.
- 30:07Speaker 4: But it's because he's so good again.
- 30:09Speaker 3: That anytime you got something like that you can attack
- 30:12Speaker 3: somebody with saying be careful because it might flip around
- 30:15Speaker 3: on you. The love of concern with his mom is
- 30:17Speaker 3: higher than it's been. I can't imagine that Jaden is
- 30:22Speaker 3: the kind of guy that spent a single second worrying
- 30:25Speaker 3: about his the LSU copy of the Heisman trophy or
- 30:31Speaker 3: a new recruit being promised the number five. Everything I
- 30:35Speaker 3: know about the guy, everyone that's ever met him will
- 30:37Speaker 3: tell you the same thing, which is like, he does
- 30:40Speaker 3: not care. He doesn't have an ego, but some people
- 30:43Speaker 3: around him might. And I thought that his mom in
- 30:45Speaker 3: the past, like she's a little over the top, but
- 30:48Speaker 3: ultimately she cares about protecting her son, which is a
- 30:51Speaker 3: good thing. She might go overboard, but I think it's
- 30:54Speaker 3: a positive thing that she wants to look out for
- 30:56Speaker 3: him in life. Now it's to the point where she
- 30:59Speaker 3: has it seams started to cause some headaches for him,
- 31:03Speaker 3: and that's not a good thing.
- 31:05Speaker 4: But again, I think this is all.
- 31:07Speaker 3: It will be water under the bridge if we start winning,
- 31:10Speaker 3: that's how it goes. It's not a problem if we
- 31:12Speaker 3: start out four O, not a problem anymore.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Right exactly? Winning cares all.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Yes, part of my book ten Years of the Best
- 31:20Speaker 1: and Worst in Sports from the Biggest show going part
- 31:23Speaker 1: of my take pft, we appreciate it. By the way,
- 31:25Speaker 1: if you purchase that book quickly enough, you'll read the
- 31:28Speaker 1: Josh Allen chapter before the author does. I mean, how
- 31:30Speaker 1: about that, that's true.
- 31:32Speaker 3: I need to read I need to read the chapter
- 31:34Speaker 3: that Josh himself wrote. And yeah, there's actually a number
- 31:40Speaker 3: now that I'm looking at the interviews, there's now three
- 31:42Speaker 3: that I have not read yet. Those are those aren't
- 31:47Speaker 3: my words, those are their words.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:51Speaker 4: But I think it's a good book. I think people
- 31:53Speaker 4: will enjoy it.
- 31:54Speaker 3: And if you don't, then just wait another ten years
- 31:56Speaker 3: for the sequel that'll be better.
- 31:57Speaker 5: All right.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Support these guys. They're great guys. They work card, the
- 32:00Speaker 1: show is fantastic. Support them by their book part of
- 32:02Speaker 1: my book. At wherever you get your books, we appreciate it.
- 32:05Speaker 2: PF T.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Stude, I got one question for you, oh boy, you
- 32:08Speaker 3: always have to bring your own question to an interview
- 32:10Speaker 3: of yours.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Yes, yes, give.
- 32:12Speaker 3: Me a prediction for the Jets, because our guy memes
- 32:14Speaker 3: he every day that I see him, he's either like,
- 32:17Speaker 3: you know, we're gonna go seventeen and oh or we're
- 32:19Speaker 3: gonna go oh in seventeen. I can't I can't get
- 32:21Speaker 3: a pulse on it.
- 32:22Speaker 2: I just don't want him to go nine and eight
- 32:23Speaker 2: or eight and nine.
- 32:24Speaker 1: That's, you know, if you're gonna be if you're gonna
- 32:27Speaker 1: be bad, be really really bad, bad enough where you
- 32:29Speaker 1: can get one of these quarterbacks in next year's draft.
- 32:32Speaker 1: The problem with the Jets is they're bad at the
- 32:35Speaker 1: wrong times. They're good at the wrong times. They're rarely
- 32:38Speaker 1: ever good. My prediction is listen, Oh god, I don't
- 32:42Speaker 1: like naking predictions on the Jets. He well, Mikey knows
- 32:48Speaker 1: what I'm battling here. I think the Jets are gonna
- 32:50Speaker 1: be good. I just don't want to say it.
- 32:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna say. I'm going to say. I'm going to
- 32:55Speaker 2: say eleven and six for the Jets. How about that?
- 32:58Speaker 3: Okay, that's perfect, and so Lockchino up long term?
- 33:02Speaker 2: Of course, yes, we had him when he was a rookie.
- 33:08Speaker 3: I didn't know if you were all aboard the arch
- 33:10Speaker 3: Manning sweepstakes or not.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Well, no, because the Mannings won't let him go play
- 33:14Speaker 2: for the Jets. You know that.
- 33:15Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, that was my theory that I told
- 33:18Speaker 3: the Memes and he hasn't talked to me since.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Yes, they're avoiding the Jets like the plug and they should.
- 33:26Speaker 1: All right, but you guys continued success, good luck with
- 33:29Speaker 1: the books. I had a big cat for us, and
- 33:31Speaker 1: we appreciate you doing this.
- 33:32Speaker 5: Man.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Yeah, you'll have to stop in when you're in Chicago.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Quit ducking us.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Done, I am, I'm ducking you. Taylor said, stop ducking them.
- 33:38Speaker 1: He did right before we got started.
- 33:40Speaker 2: He said, why do you duck these guys all time?
- 33:41Speaker 1: Because I was like, hey, they didn't invite me to
- 33:43Speaker 1: come on and promote my book.
- 33:44Speaker 4: I mean, well, Sue, let's tell the whole story here.
- 33:47Speaker 3: You think you've been invited on part of my take
- 33:49Speaker 3: twice while you've been in town. Yes, and both times
- 33:52Speaker 3: you've been like, hey, I can't make it. Sorry, I'm leaving.
- 33:56Speaker 4: But that's good.
- 33:56Speaker 3: It makes us you know we're pursuing you now. The
- 34:00Speaker 3: white whale people always ask us like, who's your white whale.
- 34:03Speaker 3: It's gonna be Lebron and Stu Gotts. We just can't
- 34:05Speaker 3: get them.
- 34:07Speaker 2: I sent that text from first class on the way
- 34:09Speaker 2: out of town. How about that I'll be there for you?
- 34:13Speaker 2: And it was three times, by the way.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I love it all right, See all right, thank you,
- 34:18Speaker 1: good luck for us, all right, thanks PFT
