- 0:00Speaker 1: We are inside the NBA presented by Key on a night,
- 0:03Speaker 1: the Indiana Pacers move on to the NBA Finals to
- 0:06Speaker 1: take on Oklahoma City. And they did it convincingly in
- 0:10Speaker 1: the second half.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah, they got it.
- 0:12Speaker 3: They run, They got their running game going in the
- 0:14Speaker 3: second half. They were fabulous. They were you know, stam
- 0:17Speaker 3: ain't gonna talk about it. They gave away so many
- 0:20Speaker 3: layoffs after score. But I talked two stats. You can't
- 0:24Speaker 3: have seventeen turnovers and miss nine free throws in the
- 0:27Speaker 3: close out game and they on the road and think
- 0:29Speaker 3: you're going to win. But congratulations to the Pacers and
- 0:32Speaker 3: man deluging the finals.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Yeah, eighteen turnovers for thirty four Indiana points.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Nice, how about it, Kenny.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Turnovers come from the team, you know, making the not
- 0:46Speaker 3: making the right mental fatigue as well. They did a
- 0:49Speaker 3: great job of pressuring brunts in today, keeping him out
- 0:54Speaker 3: of the paint, keeping him on the perimeter, and making
- 0:57Speaker 3: him work from baseline to three point line. He made
- 1:01Speaker 3: he had to make four or five decisions between baseline
- 1:05Speaker 3: to free three point line, and that to me was
- 1:08Speaker 3: a difference. Listen, I know we're going to be joined
- 1:10Speaker 3: by the superstars of the pass but I want to
- 1:12Speaker 3: give Andrew.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Nimhart and Thomas Bryant some love.
- 1:16Speaker 3: I've been shotting here for twelve years. It's all about
- 1:19Speaker 3: the others. Those guys play great. Mim Hart did a fabulous,
- 1:23Speaker 3: unbelievable job on guarding, not stopping Dunson, but just guarding
- 1:28Speaker 3: him ninety four feet the whole game.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Michael plaining and hit some tomy shots.
- 1:32Speaker 3: I want to make sure I get those guys to
- 1:34Speaker 3: pop because listen, Kenny knows this. Shuck knows us superstars
- 1:39Speaker 3: get the credit, but the others every now and then
- 1:41Speaker 3: can take you over the hump.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Let's look at the highlights of Game six, which turned
- 1:45Speaker 1: out to be the clincher.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Here at the.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Fieldhouse, Jalen Brunson and the Knicks trying to force this
- 1:52Speaker 1: scheme seven. Back up at Madison Square Garden.
- 1:56Speaker 3: They came out and man, Mitchell Robinson, get that kid
- 1:59Speaker 3: some credit.
- 2:00Speaker 2: A machine on that off does a board they had.
- 2:03Speaker 1: They had a solid first quarter. They more than weather
- 2:05Speaker 1: the storm in the first.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Course they did, but you know what, that storm kept coming.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Chale Bridges can'date the triple.
- 2:14Speaker 3: They had the great pace early on, even though Indiana
- 2:17Speaker 3: was knocking down shots. It was a pace that the
- 2:20Speaker 3: Knicks would like to have stayed throughout the game. They
- 2:23Speaker 3: wanted this game to be one O eight and wound
- 2:25Speaker 3: up being in the one twenties and they cannot beat
- 2:28Speaker 3: the Indiana pass in the one twenties.
- 2:29Speaker 2: And at Pits.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Brute you saw Nie Smith knocked down of three miles.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Turner connects from deep and after after one, Indiana twenty
- 2:38Speaker 1: five to twenty four, and Indiana did a great job.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Will continue pushing the pace, specially after many destiny. I
- 2:43Speaker 3: just don't understand how the niss can let them score
- 2:45Speaker 3: after made Matthew Man that was ridiculous.
- 2:47Speaker 1: The last couple on time and again too unbelievable. Indiana
- 2:53Speaker 1: with a three point league.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Iris Halliburton's got all day and he connects. The ball
- 2:57Speaker 2: is the most dangerous thing on the floor. You never
- 2:59Speaker 2: leave it where you ever care was dropped on that
- 3:01Speaker 2: pick and roll. They just took a vent of that
- 3:04Speaker 2: pick and roll. And this is a jail break right here.
- 3:07Speaker 1: We're gonna wind up with a Jeris Walker's bucket and
- 3:13Speaker 1: then another New York turnoder.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Them Hart with six steals again, I'm gonna give him
- 3:18Speaker 3: shuck pumps.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Yeah, he would have gover in the thirty fourth quarter.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Yeah, every time runs and went into the lane, you see,
- 3:23Speaker 3: he sees hands and bodies and.
- 3:25Speaker 2: So that was just too much for him.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Siakam was great in the open court, half court, mid court,
- 3:31Speaker 3: free throw line, everywhere on the court.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Three poor love.
- 3:35Speaker 1: So they got a little run going here at the
- 3:37Speaker 1: end of the half and then big bucket for New
- 3:39Speaker 1: york O g Annobi here.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Okay, so with down four, but this is when he
- 3:44Speaker 3: lost the game. Coming up at the first five to
- 3:47Speaker 3: seven minutes of the third quarter, all hell broke loose
- 3:50Speaker 3: as they say, oh you said that, well, I said nine,
- 3:55Speaker 3: you made it up.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Ain't nothing run to start the first quarter and it's
- 3:59Speaker 1: over now.
- 4:00Speaker 2: And he the Knicks view was probably a little round.
- 4:03Speaker 2: They made a little run, but.
- 4:04Speaker 3: They were down fifteen, and he was finding but had
- 4:06Speaker 3: a nine old run.
- 4:08Speaker 2: But they just couldn't They got in the flood. They
- 4:10Speaker 2: could not with tea.
- 4:12Speaker 3: You think it was fatigue, h it might have been.
- 4:14Speaker 3: But if the one of the pacers get going and listen,
- 4:16Speaker 3: this guy hits two.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Threes on a row from that same bible.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Thomas Bryant, there's your guy, Yes.
- 4:22Speaker 3: And Ernie, you got to get him the credit because
- 4:24Speaker 3: he got benched and other started playing again as Bradley
- 4:27Speaker 3: got hurt.
- 4:28Speaker 2: He had four points in the series coming into this game. Well,
- 4:31Speaker 2: I didn't even know that was his game.
- 4:33Speaker 4: I didn't know.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I didn't know the top of the shooting three in
- 4:35Speaker 2: such a highing of either. But give him credit for
- 4:38Speaker 2: being radio shack. Yes, kudos.
- 4:40Speaker 1: So after oh oh, and Nicks had cut it to seven,
- 4:44Speaker 1: but long, but then it's the Pacers up ninety two
- 4:48Speaker 1: to seventy seven after three.
- 4:50Speaker 2: This is still right.
- 4:51Speaker 3: That's why you got to get off the ball, Quicker.
- 4:52Speaker 3: You know, I thought, you know they didn't throwing bodies
- 4:56Speaker 3: at at Jalen. This is the best that they've got
- 4:59Speaker 3: him in the second half. I've seen all series.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Halliburton with the fee to Miles Turner, I.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Know who feels so good right now? Voted by his peers, overrated.
- 5:10Speaker 2: And them Hart Where was a Kubo d How you
- 5:13Speaker 2: like it now, Kidney?
- 5:15Speaker 3: You like now?
- 5:16Speaker 2: Look at that turn.
- 5:17Speaker 1: That Halliburton call him game and the Indiana Pacers celebrate
- 5:25Speaker 1: as they are heading to the NBA Finals for the
- 5:27Speaker 1: second time in their NBA history.
- 5:32Speaker 2: And Ernie I know that was your call. Letting Reggie
- 5:36Speaker 2: pass out the trophy. It's such a class at No,
- 5:38Speaker 2: that was was your call. I'm not going to take
- 5:42Speaker 2: credit for that.
- 5:42Speaker 1: But whoever come up with the idea, it was a
- 5:45Speaker 1: brilliant idea the NBA did. The NBA said we need
- 5:48Speaker 1: a little bit to hand it out, and Reggie was
- 5:50Speaker 1: the perfect guy.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Yeah, but there is no legend bigger than you. Well
- 5:53Speaker 3: in Indiana, Reggie is Yeah, I would agree on a
- 5:57Speaker 3: nobody bigger than my cancel, bigger than Yeah.
- 6:03Speaker 2: We love Ernie.
- 6:03Speaker 3: We just go out. He can give it out in Milwaukee. Here,
- 6:08Speaker 3: you give it out of Milwaukee any time. He won't
- 6:10Speaker 3: to I don't nobody bigger than my Ernie. Let's listen
- 6:13Speaker 3: to Tom Tip. Yeah, I think you know.
- 6:17Speaker 4: And again there's disappointment because you fall short of what
- 6:20Speaker 4: your goal is, right, and there's in the end, there's
- 6:23Speaker 4: only going to be one team, uh that achieves the goal.
- 6:28Speaker 4: And so I think the challenge for us is to
- 6:31Speaker 4: look at it for what it is, and it's you know,
- 6:34Speaker 4: we finished in the in the top three, but it's
- 6:37Speaker 4: we're falling short of the ultimate goal. And so for us,
- 6:41Speaker 4: it's to use that for motivation and determination to work
- 6:46Speaker 4: all summer to prepare ourselves to make the final step
- 6:49Speaker 4: and keep improving so we can achieve our goal. And
- 6:52Speaker 4: I think that's the way we have to approach it,
- 6:54Speaker 4: and that's the way we have to look at it. So, uh,
- 6:56Speaker 4: it's improvement from last year, but it's aultimately not what
- 7:01Speaker 4: our ultimate goal is.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Tom, what do you what do you feel like are
- 7:05Speaker 3: those next steps you guys have to make?
- 7:07Speaker 4: And again, like you would do after every season, you
- 7:10Speaker 4: take a step back, I think, decompress, You do a
- 7:13Speaker 4: deep dive on the team, and then you analyze what
- 7:17Speaker 4: you think you need to improve upon. And then you know,
- 7:21Speaker 4: we have the draft, and then we have free agency,
- 7:23Speaker 4: and there's trades, and then there's the internal development and
- 7:27Speaker 4: then it's the study in preparation for next season. And
- 7:30Speaker 4: so it's a big off season for us.
- 7:37Speaker 2: So in Game six, that's the game right there.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Yes, indeed, And look at Thomas Bryant with just eight points,
- 7:46Speaker 1: two out of three in the third quarter and the
- 7:50Speaker 1: points off turnover, the fast break points is Indiana just
- 7:53Speaker 1: turned it up in the third and that's when the
- 7:55Speaker 1: game turned in their favor and stayed.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Just that way.
- 8:01Speaker 2: So look the Pacers.
- 8:03Speaker 1: The Pacers the first three wins of this series came
- 8:07Speaker 1: by a total of seventeen points. They win Game six
- 8:11Speaker 1: by seventeen. Finally had a little bit of breathing room.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Canny.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Well, the breathing room came when you know, they got
- 8:16Speaker 3: double digits. The Knicks move that this game was over,
- 8:19Speaker 3: so they didn't have the same fortitude knowing that there's
- 8:22Speaker 3: something at the end of the rainbow. So again, I
- 8:26Speaker 3: just thought that they did an unbelievable the same way
- 8:29Speaker 3: the Knicks jammed up Halliburton in Madison Square Garden, the
- 8:34Speaker 3: Pacers jammed up Jaylen Bronson. It was the exact mirror
- 8:39Speaker 3: of what both teams have done defensively, and that changed
- 8:43Speaker 3: the complexity of the series and made the Pacers the
- 8:46Speaker 3: Eastern Conference champions. I knew the mix were not going
- 8:49Speaker 3: to They did not have a hell of their first
- 8:51Speaker 3: quarterble for links and Pacers was playing them. Look at
- 8:56Speaker 3: a Chamart. But if you're the Knicks, you know what
- 9:00Speaker 3: you're thinking to yourself, what's that?
- 9:02Speaker 2: Damn?
- 9:02Speaker 3: How do we lose Game one? And that that changed
- 9:06Speaker 3: the entire outlook.
- 9:09Speaker 2: One game two.
- 9:09Speaker 3: But if they had of one game one, it would
- 9:11Speaker 3: have been a different game too, but they fled out
- 9:13Speaker 3: blue game one, and man, it's hard to get four wins.
- 9:18Speaker 2: You can't be giving games away.
- 9:20Speaker 3: And if you're the Knicks, you'll be like, you know what,
- 9:22Speaker 3: I cannot believe we gave away game one and.
- 9:25Speaker 1: That leading by seventeen in game one. To refresh your
- 9:28Speaker 1: memory seems like an eternity ago being.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Up ten would a minute to go. And then and
- 9:35Speaker 3: as a player, when you get this part, things like
- 9:38Speaker 3: that hurt all summer, Oh my hurt all like if
- 9:41Speaker 3: you don't blow gout, have a stomach ache, the host
- 9:44Speaker 3: whole something like damn yeah, yeah, because you when you
- 9:47Speaker 3: it's hard to win four and you just can't give
- 9:50Speaker 3: cause then because you know, if you get out one away, Ernie,
- 9:52Speaker 3: you got to win five games now.
- 9:55Speaker 2: So and I'm like, damn, we gotta win. That's a
- 9:59Speaker 2: great one.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Indiana shoots fifty four percent in this game, So when
- 10:03Speaker 1: they're twelve wins in this postseason, they've shot fifty percent
- 10:08Speaker 1: or better ten times. And again, the points off turnovers,
- 10:13Speaker 1: et cetera just overwhelming for Indiana, and the fast break
- 10:17Speaker 1: points and the bench points they all add up, and
- 10:22Speaker 1: when they all add up, it means you're going to
- 10:24Speaker 1: the NBA Finals.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Well, if your mom would hold the tape tighter, I
- 10:29Speaker 3: probably wouldn't.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Even be able to go through. It would have got
- 10:32Speaker 2: to the refrigerated's house.
