- 0:08Speaker 2: The World's of Vigeonal podcast.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:18Speaker 4: I did like two or three Red Zone Sundays. He
- 0:21Speaker 4: doesn't move, No, he doesn't move. There's a bathroom behind him,
- 0:24Speaker 4: behind the wall.
- 0:25Speaker 5: So all like Paul on redst.
- 0:26Speaker 3: It's not unrealistic to think on the week of Super
- 0:30Speaker 3: Bowl we might have to cover Coach of the Year, MVP,
- 0:33Speaker 3: Assistant Coach of the Year, and several people in the
- 0:36Speaker 3: Pro Bowl.
- 0:37Speaker 6: And Evans probably will be at the shrine.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Gerd Comeback Player of the Year to Han Diggs, Mister Craft,
- 0:42Speaker 4: Bill Belichick, Adam Vin, Terry, Rodney Harrison, and potentially the
- 0:48Speaker 4: Patriots might be there in the Super Bowl in Santa
- 0:51Speaker 4: Clara as well.
- 0:52Speaker 3: People gonna hate us, I mean we're talking. I love it. Evan,
- 0:56Speaker 3: Will you down playing playing at Denver how important it is?
- 0:59Speaker 4: I never do that.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Evan is underestimating the impact of playing at altitude without
- 1:04Speaker 3: proper acclimatization.
- 1:06Speaker 4: I think the Patriots should practice on the top of
- 1:08Speaker 4: Mount Washington.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Yeah, pretty cool, lot high enough, and the deafening crowd noise.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I'm just looking at facts. Along with Seattle, that is
- 1:16Speaker 3: the loudest stadium in the league.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Measurable fact, no incorrect.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Amir has a good billboard of case the Patriots win,
- 1:24Speaker 3: the afcat is should say we'll take it from here.
- 1:28Speaker 6: I like that.
- 1:28Speaker 4: That's good.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I like that good, Andre good. This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:34Speaker 7: Presented by Toyota's official website. For deals, buy a Toyota
- 1:37Speaker 7: dot com.
- 1:40Speaker 3: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:45Speaker 3: at Jillette Stadium, and it's the bye week, of course,
- 1:48Speaker 3: so we don't have a game to worry about this Sunday,
- 1:51Speaker 3: so we can relax and watch the rest of the
- 1:54Speaker 3: league either play good or bad football, and then we'll
- 1:59Speaker 3: be able to create critique it next week. But uh,
- 2:02Speaker 3: still a big show. We've got the whole gang here.
- 2:04Speaker 3: It's Evan, it's Paul, it's Me, it's Deuce, it's Alex,
- 2:07Speaker 3: Alex and Matt in the booth, and uh we'll be
- 2:10Speaker 3: here for the next two hours talking Patriots and whatever
- 2:12Speaker 3: else comes up. I got a feeling some other subjects
- 2:15Speaker 3: might might arise today. I don't I don't know when
- 2:19Speaker 3: we have our picks today. So that's very important. Got
- 2:22Speaker 3: to get our picks in and I don't have to
- 2:25Speaker 3: worry about the Patriots.
- 2:27Speaker 7: So do you worry about that?
- 2:28Speaker 3: I do. I was just gonna say, look, I'm the
- 2:31Speaker 3: one that picked against him a couple of weeks ago,
- 2:33Speaker 3: so he still feels bad about that. I do.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I do.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Get these two over here with their gear.
- 2:40Speaker 3: All right. So you know, everyone's talking about the fact
- 2:46Speaker 3: that Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft are finalists in the
- 2:49Speaker 3: contributor category. So I don't know if we want to
- 2:53Speaker 3: talk about that. I think both of them should get
- 2:55Speaker 3: in on the first ballot, but you never know what
- 2:59Speaker 3: these uh with the panel. We'll see what happens there.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Drake may Player Offensive Player of the Week. We talked
- 3:06Speaker 3: about that yesterday.
- 3:08Speaker 4: We have a little breaking news. Oh yeah, dou tell
- 3:11Speaker 4: Traveon Henderson Rookie of the Month or the month of November.
- 3:15Speaker 4: The month in the entire NFL, not just the AFC.
- 3:19Speaker 3: That's prestigious.
- 3:20Speaker 8: Does anyone care to guess the last time a Patriots
- 3:23Speaker 8: rookie got offensive players?
- 3:24Speaker 3: I think I don't wait rookie, I don't know ifsive
- 3:28Speaker 3: Rookie of the month. Mike Kynes.
- 3:31Speaker 6: Not quite that far back.
- 3:32Speaker 3: He's defense anyway.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Rob Gronkowski, No.
- 3:35Speaker 7: Actually, Aaron Hernandez, keep going, keep going back.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Curtis Martin not that far, oh man. The good a
- 3:43Speaker 3: thing you're you're you're.
- 3:44Speaker 8: Kind of getting around it though, you're getting around military. No, no, no, no,
- 3:47Speaker 8: it's it's in between twenty ten and ninety six. So
- 3:50Speaker 8: keep working. That's so Lawrence Morony.
- 3:57Speaker 4: A little farther back, keep inching back, rebinch Dion branch
- 4:02Speaker 4: okay of twenty two thousand and two.
- 4:07Speaker 6: Okay, Patriots player got rookie.
- 4:10Speaker 4: He did have a that's not established really.
- 4:14Speaker 6: He had a good start, yeah.
- 4:16Speaker 7: Branch right from the start he was was really good.
- 4:20Speaker 3: So who would you say, this is a tough one.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Who would be the all time Patriots rookie. Who was
- 4:26Speaker 3: the greatest rookie in Patriots franchise history.
- 4:29Speaker 7: That's a big question, big question.
- 4:31Speaker 4: I don't know. Wow, that's tough because Gronk's breakout year
- 4:35Speaker 4: was his second year.
- 4:37Speaker 7: He had a good rookie Yeah, but yeah, probably Curtis Martin.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Curtis Martin, yeah, yeah, yeah, that sounds right.
- 4:44Speaker 3: We wonder like I don't know, like it was John
- 4:46Speaker 3: Hannah's first season like amazing, you know, I think I think.
- 4:51Speaker 6: Mike Haynes' first year was the seventies.
- 4:53Speaker 3: On your own time.
- 4:53Speaker 7: No, no, no, no, it was like Stanley Morgan, you know,
- 4:57Speaker 7: you know, but the left guard is nothing that personifies
- 5:02Speaker 7: the Patriots incompetence more than the greatest player in the
- 5:05Speaker 7: history of their franchise until like nineteen ninety was a guard.
- 5:09Speaker 6: That wild give tips some love.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Might be the best guard of all time.
- 5:14Speaker 7: He may be the best offensive lineman of all time.
- 5:17Speaker 7: Nothing personifies how bad you a franchise is. When that's
- 5:19Speaker 7: the case, that's the best player.
- 5:21Speaker 4: You have no respect for the offensive line.
- 5:24Speaker 3: I also got it. Henderson is also the Pepsi zero
- 5:29Speaker 3: Sugar Pepsi zero sugar NFL Rookie of the Week as well,
- 5:35Speaker 3: and I'm told say exactly the Pepsi zero sugar thing
- 5:40Speaker 3: NFL Rookie of the of the week.
- 5:42Speaker 4: He's the rookie of the week.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Yeah, Henderson from this week.
- 5:45Speaker 3: This is different.
- 5:46Speaker 4: It's a different award, I know, but from this past week.
- 5:49Speaker 3: But this week, in said, Henderson is the Pepsi zero
- 5:53Speaker 3: Sugar NFL Rookie of the week.
- 5:57Speaker 2: You're on the sword.
- 5:59Speaker 5: No, I'm up on the award.
- 6:01Speaker 6: I'm wondering the consulted.
- 6:02Speaker 7: Were there any other rookies that played this week?
- 6:06Speaker 2: Damn, like the rookie of the guy.
- 6:10Speaker 7: Maybe it's I think well deserved. He had a huge
- 6:13Speaker 7: game in Tampa. He had another really good game. He's
- 6:16Speaker 7: scored six touchdowns I think in like a like maybe
- 6:19Speaker 7: a three week span. But this particular game games the Giants,
- 6:22Speaker 7: I don't think was one of the games that look
- 6:24Speaker 7: it up.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Look it up.
- 6:26Speaker 4: The NFL is saying that that is the case that
- 6:30Speaker 4: he did win for the Week thirteen zero Sugar Rookie
- 6:33Speaker 4: of the Week. But more importantly to me, he's the
- 6:36Speaker 4: Rookie of the Month, which I think, No, I know he.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Also got that.
- 6:39Speaker 7: Yeah, there's two different awards, but yeah, well deserved for
- 6:42Speaker 7: the Rookie of the month. Yeah, absolutely, he had a
- 6:45Speaker 7: great month.
- 6:46Speaker 3: It's pretty amazing.
- 6:47Speaker 8: I not to go backwards, but I was just going
- 6:49Speaker 8: to say because I thought Mike Haynes had a really
- 6:51Speaker 8: good rookie year, and he did. He was a pro
- 6:52Speaker 8: bowler as a rookie, had eight interceptions, was a rookie.
- 6:55Speaker 8: That's a pretty It's a career high of interceptions in
- 6:58Speaker 8: a season.
- 6:58Speaker 3: So you know who had a lot of ben exceptions
- 7:00Speaker 3: his rookie year one, he had six I believe right.
- 7:05Speaker 4: He went to the Pro Bowl.
- 7:06Speaker 6: Yeah, so went to the Pro Bowl.
- 7:08Speaker 7: In the conversation for yeah, I would put both of
- 7:11Speaker 7: those guys in the conversation. I think Curtis had like
- 7:13Speaker 7: fourteen hundred yards.
- 7:14Speaker 6: He was magical.
- 7:16Speaker 8: I still remember watching him as a rookie and them
- 7:18Speaker 8: talking about the injuries he had had and how he
- 7:20Speaker 8: had fallen in the draft, like the weird details that
- 7:23Speaker 8: stick out in my mind about Curtis Martin, and then
- 7:25Speaker 8: just watching him run slash.
- 7:26Speaker 7: I just remember and running for one hundred yards against
- 7:28Speaker 7: Bill Belichick's defense in his first every game.
- 7:32Speaker 6: And stopped the run going to the Jets.
- 7:36Speaker 3: That's bad.
- 7:38Speaker 7: These things happened.
- 7:39Speaker 3: I remember. I remember when Parcels was here, I reminded
- 7:42Speaker 3: him that after a good game that did this that
- 7:44Speaker 3: Martin had. You know, the guys were all like, you know,
- 7:48Speaker 3: great game. The media was around his locker and Parcels
- 7:51Speaker 3: just walks through. Yeah one game wonder.
- 7:54Speaker 6: That sounds like part.
- 7:55Speaker 7: That's why you called him boy Wonder.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Yeah, one game.
- 7:58Speaker 4: One out when you hear things like that about parcels,
- 8:02Speaker 4: it does. Mike Rable does have.
- 8:04Speaker 3: A oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 8:05Speaker 4: He's more of that than Bill.
- 8:07Speaker 5: He's a mix of the two of them.
- 8:09Speaker 7: He has Belichick's a lot of Belichick's sort of ideologies
- 8:13Speaker 7: which are really parcels, and a lot of parcels is
- 8:17Speaker 7: like sort of biting balls. Socasm going to.
- 8:21Speaker 6: Say, why is that nicer way?
- 8:23Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, so good stuff. Anything else, anything else we
- 8:28Speaker 3: need to talk about. Get out on the table, the news,
- 8:31Speaker 3: the latest news.
- 8:33Speaker 6: Evan's battle with the Broncos fans continues.
- 8:35Speaker 7: Yeah does it? Oh we have yeah, do tell I didn't?
- 8:38Speaker 7: I want them up on the waiter.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Evan is just down playing mile High the effects of
- 8:44Speaker 3: altitude and the you know, the crowd and all that.
- 8:49Speaker 6: Yeah, okay, yeah, I was. So it's fan vote driving
- 8:52Speaker 6: that award for the.
- 8:52Speaker 3: P So do you think the city has a home
- 8:55Speaker 3: field advantage? The crowd noise?
- 8:58Speaker 4: There we go, I've given up. Sorry, I'm out, Sorry
- 9:02Speaker 4: that I laid down myself.
- 9:04Speaker 7: Then chooses not to run.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Seattle They're pretty.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Loud, really really tough places to play, all of.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Them they are.
- 9:15Speaker 7: Seattle is a tough place to play. Yeah, I think
- 9:19Speaker 7: the emailer included Seattle in his thing. Seattle and Denver
- 9:22Speaker 7: the two loudest places.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Kansas City would argue with that.
- 9:25Speaker 7: I would probably say outdoor venues because some of the
- 9:29Speaker 7: indoor places came.
- 9:30Speaker 4: I would say that that's incorrect.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Kansas City had the Guinness Book of World Records there.
- 9:34Speaker 3: One night they broke the decibel.
- 9:36Speaker 9: Record and ear I mean you carry that guy, don't like,
- 9:41Speaker 9: how are we how are we judging this?
- 9:44Speaker 3: Who?
- 9:44Speaker 4: But who's doing world records?
- 9:47Speaker 7: Okay, I never I've never seen that.
- 9:51Speaker 3: I was there the night that they did it.
- 9:53Speaker 7: Oh so they set out to do it.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it was.
- 9:58Speaker 7: Talking about it's random week three that was the highest one.
- 10:02Speaker 3: No, they told the fans, Guinness is here, you got
- 10:05Speaker 3: to be loud, and they broke the record.
- 10:06Speaker 5: You know, me completely dismissed that one.
- 10:08Speaker 6: Now sounds like a participation trophy, right of course they tried.
- 10:11Speaker 7: No never mind, I was going to say something that
- 10:13Speaker 7: was going to get me in trouble.
- 10:14Speaker 5: I'm not going to say it.
- 10:16Speaker 6: Seattle is loud, no matter what. Like that was what
- 10:18Speaker 6: I'm saying.
- 10:19Speaker 7: A random week three?
- 10:20Speaker 5: Well, I go to Seattle, I was.
- 10:21Speaker 8: There in whatever in two thousand and eight, with Matt
- 10:25Speaker 8: Castle playing for the Patriots. The Seahawks are already out
- 10:28Speaker 8: of the branch being the branch uh and the fans
- 10:32Speaker 8: were going crazy. I was sitting in the three hundreds
- 10:34Speaker 8: with the diehards and they're like yelling, like.
- 10:35Speaker 3: It starts in the huddle.
- 10:36Speaker 6: They're screaming like you guys are going nowhere. But they
- 10:39Speaker 6: were super passionate. I respect the Seahawks fans, so.
- 10:44Speaker 7: That'd be the best part of going to the Super Bowls.
- 10:46Speaker 7: I get to check another stadium out one.
- 10:48Speaker 4: I been to San Francisco Stadium.
- 10:50Speaker 3: I'm going on a new one.
- 10:52Speaker 5: No, I went to the Candlestick.
- 10:53Speaker 4: It's fine.
- 10:54Speaker 3: To the stadium, it's fine. Yeah, the stuff we sees,
- 10:58Speaker 3: you know, but I guess like the clubs are really nice.
- 11:01Speaker 3: There's a lot of really good technology there. It's a
- 11:04Speaker 3: good stadium.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I feel like they'd have a good atmosphere too.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't. I don't like the way it's configured
- 11:12Speaker 3: because one side of the stadium is all like suites
- 11:16Speaker 3: and boxes and it takes away all those stands.
- 11:19Speaker 7: I agree with you, it's got an odd.
- 11:22Speaker 4: It's tough to say what the atmosphere was because the
- 11:25Speaker 4: Patriots were very non competitive in the one time that
- 11:28Speaker 4: I've been there, So it was last yes, but it was.
- 11:32Speaker 4: It's a nice stadium, but I don't think it's it's
- 11:35Speaker 4: not anything like like the design of it and everything.
- 11:38Speaker 10: It's kind of just so the real noise from the
- 11:42Speaker 10: like more regular fans is only coming from one side.
- 11:44Speaker 3: You're saying, not like a pretty much Yeah, look at
- 11:48Speaker 3: you know, if you ever get a chance, look it
- 11:50Speaker 3: up the bowl and you'll see what I'm talking about.
- 11:53Speaker 3: One side of the stadium is like a building.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 11:58Speaker 3: You know, there's lower seats obviously, but most of it
- 12:00Speaker 3: is taken up by glass.
- 12:03Speaker 6: So George George George Glass.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Yeah, No.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Eight five five pass five hundred is the hotline. Uh
- 12:12Speaker 3: podcast at Patriots dot com is the email address. So
- 12:16Speaker 3: I mean we can get right into the listeners if
- 12:20Speaker 3: you want or unless you have something else you want
- 12:22Speaker 3: to add. I know it's I feel like we go
- 12:23Speaker 3: bye week.
- 12:24Speaker 6: Yeah we got.
- 12:24Speaker 8: I feel like I got day before vacation vibes, at
- 12:27Speaker 8: least speaking for myself getting out of town tomorrow.
- 12:29Speaker 7: And it's Mike's way of telling you he's not going
- 12:31Speaker 7: to come in tomorrow.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Where you're going.
- 12:32Speaker 4: We're going to Vermont.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Actually you should do agility drills on top.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Of any place in particular.
- 12:39Speaker 6: We're going to Stow, Vermont.
- 12:41Speaker 4: No, no skiing.
- 12:42Speaker 8: We're gonna go freeze our butts off and experience the
- 12:45Speaker 8: terrible cold of winter.
- 12:46Speaker 3: But the slopes open.
- 12:47Speaker 6: I think they are up up there.
- 12:49Speaker 8: They're up there, and make last year we went skiing,
- 12:51Speaker 8: and I feel like I dodged tearing my a c
- 12:53Speaker 8: L once was enough.
- 12:55Speaker 6: I don't need to push it again. So no no skiing,
- 12:57Speaker 6: but just get out of town.
- 12:58Speaker 8: I think it's good to get away from your domicile abode.
- 13:03Speaker 6: Go off, break the cycle a little bit. Just get
- 13:05Speaker 6: away for a couple of days.
- 13:07Speaker 4: See, I'm the total starting this. I'm the total opposite you.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Just I'm going to sleep for two straight days. Really,
- 13:15Speaker 4: I mean we travel so like we go to other places.
- 13:18Speaker 2: That's what you're going to do for with your weekend
- 13:20Speaker 2: off of sleep?
- 13:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just off on this Oh yeah yeah. This
- 13:25Speaker 4: morning at like it was like eight thirty and I
- 13:27Speaker 4: was still in bed, interest like, doesn't don't you have
- 13:29Speaker 4: to go to work? And I was like yeah, yeah,
- 13:33Speaker 4: it's the bye.
- 13:34Speaker 7: Yeah, it's been nice you guys get the weekend off.
- 13:38Speaker 7: Here we go. What do you want to know?
- 13:41Speaker 5: What we're gonna have.
- 13:42Speaker 7: Willem aguinness is going to be by on Saturday. Saturday,
- 13:46Speaker 7: I'm going to do a Matt and I. You're gonna
- 13:48Speaker 7: do Pats from here. He's getting event that he's going
- 13:51Speaker 7: to be in I think Providence Saturday night, so he's
- 13:55Speaker 7: agreed to to come by and speak with us. He
- 13:58Speaker 7: wasn't he was really booked solid when he was here
- 14:02Speaker 7: for the game Monday night, so we couldn't do it.
- 14:04Speaker 7: So Matt and I are going to do it on
- 14:06Speaker 7: Saturday morning.
- 14:07Speaker 8: What was like fore fair watching Bille McGuinness like evolve
- 14:09Speaker 8: from a rookie, I mean, high first round pick, but
- 14:12Speaker 8: he was such a i'll tell you key piece of that.
- 14:14Speaker 7: I know.
- 14:15Speaker 3: But he had his his big plays, but I'll be honest,
- 14:19Speaker 3: I always thought that he could have been better. Yeah, yeah,
- 14:24Speaker 3: I you know, I really do.
- 14:28Speaker 7: Before we get started, I just want to let you know,
- 14:30Speaker 7: my boss, who's been part of this for thirty years now,
- 14:34Speaker 7: thinks you're somewhat over Ea.
- 14:36Speaker 4: I kind of underachieved it.
- 14:38Speaker 3: I thought that, like he was just such a prototypical
- 14:43Speaker 3: you know, and it's during the Carroll years. They had
- 14:47Speaker 3: this elephant scheme for him and all this stuff, and
- 14:50Speaker 3: I don't think he was used.
- 14:51Speaker 5: Right then, So I think the big thing for him
- 14:55Speaker 5: was he just wasn't healthy.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I think he was.
- 14:58Speaker 5: I think the usage thing. I'm not an expert, so
- 15:02Speaker 5: I don't know. I think that was fine for him,
- 15:04Speaker 5: but he was. He was always hurt.
- 15:07Speaker 7: To what I asked him once about. Yeah, he had
- 15:10Speaker 7: like a surgery. It was like one of my first
- 15:12Speaker 7: I think it might have been my first year. And
- 15:14Speaker 7: then he had a surgery. And I was like, are
- 15:15Speaker 7: you you know, confident that you know this is going
- 15:18Speaker 7: to take care of it? Because he had like this
- 15:20Speaker 7: lingering sort of core issue that led to like hamstring
- 15:24Speaker 7: problems and back problems, and he had like this surgery,
- 15:27Speaker 7: and I just it was kind of an innocuous like
- 15:29Speaker 7: do you feel this is going to take care of it? Basically,
- 15:31Speaker 7: are you confident that you can stay healthy? And he said,
- 15:34Speaker 7: the only the only time I remember missed games in
- 15:36Speaker 7: the past is when I've been hurt.
- 15:39Speaker 9: Okay, And I was like, ah, I was looking around,
- 15:43Speaker 9: like what does that even mean? And plus he was
- 15:46Speaker 9: kind of a big guy. I don't know if you know,
- 15:49Speaker 9: scary guy.
- 15:49Speaker 3: He put Brian Moorey in a locker literally, really believe
- 15:53Speaker 3: that's a fact. That's literally, Yeah, he put him in
- 15:58Speaker 3: a locker.
- 15:59Speaker 4: He is a cliche nice to me.
- 16:00Speaker 6: Does he still hold the record for playoffs?
- 16:02Speaker 3: I believe so, yeah, all of them against Jacksonville that
- 16:07Speaker 3: one he had like four.
- 16:09Speaker 7: Four and a half in a in a division of
- 16:11Speaker 7: wild con coming like.
- 16:13Speaker 8: So passionately loves the Patriots pro and then just all
- 16:16Speaker 8: of a sudden, like I said.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Like, I remember a lot of great plays he made,
- 16:25Speaker 3: you know, the goal line stand in Indianapolis and sacks
- 16:28Speaker 3: and all that. So he was a great player. He
- 16:31Speaker 3: was a great player, but like, could he have been better?
- 16:35Speaker 3: Maybe with better coaching, better usage, less injuries.
- 16:38Speaker 7: The injuries were an issue. And then I think Belichick,
- 16:41Speaker 7: to his credit, to Bill's credit, I think identified, yes,
- 16:45Speaker 7: a plan. You know, you see it all the time
- 16:48Speaker 7: now with players like we saw it all summer, with
- 16:51Speaker 7: guys like Morgan Moses and Harold Landry. You know, not
- 16:55Speaker 7: going to be out there today, nothing to worry about.
- 16:58Speaker 7: You see it during the week. He's got you know,
- 16:59Speaker 7: barball even right, Belichick did that with William McGinnis at
- 17:04Speaker 7: the time that that wasn't all that common, like you know,
- 17:06Speaker 7: you're gonna we need you for this, we need you
- 17:08Speaker 7: for that, don't worry about this. And he kept him healthy,
- 17:12Speaker 7: you know, and I think it really extended his career.
- 17:14Speaker 6: Yeah, guys like Rabel too, like you know, a rotation
- 17:16Speaker 6: going to.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Yeah, they had they had six line.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Back for You would have loved this, Rosie Colvin, you
- 17:21Speaker 4: would have absolutely loved that.
- 17:23Speaker 7: Three four defense would have been right up your alley.
- 17:25Speaker 7: They had six guys for four spots. Not that they had.
- 17:29Speaker 7: They had three inside guys and three outside guys. And
- 17:32Speaker 7: you know, it was Fifer McGinnis, Johnson, Bruski, Rabel McGinnis,
- 17:36Speaker 7: it was you know, and then Colvin came in, uh,
- 17:38Speaker 7: kind of kind of replacing Ted Johnson a little bit.
- 17:41Speaker 7: But they they had an unbelievable amount of depth at
- 17:46Speaker 7: that spot. Now defenses are much different now you really
- 17:49Speaker 7: only have two linebackers sometimes three on the field now,
- 17:53Speaker 7: you know, regular off the base bases back what's old
- 17:57Speaker 7: is new again? Yeah, but they I always loved watching
- 18:01Speaker 7: I like that, like.
- 18:02Speaker 4: Intros, like you know, like on Monday night football back
- 18:05Speaker 4: in the day, where they actually did like the cool
- 18:07Speaker 4: like William McGuinness usc you know, and like you look
- 18:11Speaker 4: at like the four Patriots defense and it's just like
- 18:15Speaker 4: they just start rattling off their names and it's just
- 18:18Speaker 4: Richard Seymour, Vince will Fork, William McGuinness, Mike Teddy Bruski,
- 18:23Speaker 4: Roman Fighter, ty Law, Rodney Harrison.
- 18:26Speaker 5: Literally had this keen studs, this is unbelievable.
- 18:31Speaker 4: This is easily one of the best defenses of all time.
- 18:34Speaker 4: I mean, this is insane. Even the fourteen defense too.
- 18:38Speaker 4: They when they start rattling it off, you realize that
- 18:40Speaker 4: one was really freaking good too.
- 18:42Speaker 8: But for me, there was like a confidence in that
- 18:45Speaker 8: two thousand and three, two thousand and four defense with
- 18:47Speaker 8: that group as constituted that you're.
- 18:49Speaker 6: Right, like fourteen was a good defense.
- 18:51Speaker 8: But I never felt the same confidence I had that
- 18:54Speaker 8: early two thousands defense, where with those guys, it's just
- 18:58Speaker 8: like you felt like good luck, you know what I mean,
- 19:00Speaker 8: your thing with the nod where you get a couple
- 19:01Speaker 8: of scores. I didn't have a nod, Paul, but I
- 19:03Speaker 8: did have that internal nod where it was just like.
- 19:06Speaker 7: You guys were operating at a higher level.
- 19:08Speaker 4: They used to put the graphic up to or like
- 19:11Speaker 4: it would be the position group, so they'd like start
- 19:13Speaker 4: with the D line, linebackers, secondary, and I the linebackers
- 19:16Speaker 4: pop up and it's just Rabel McGinnis, Bruskie and Ted
- 19:20Speaker 4: Johnson like yeah, good luck, no wonder why they won
- 19:24Speaker 4: three had a four.
- 19:25Speaker 7: But it was even like you know, I throw like
- 19:28Speaker 7: the you know, the Colvin's and yeah, you know, and
- 19:31Speaker 7: the extra cause it was always three for two spots
- 19:34Speaker 7: like it's and I don't mean to be disrespectful.
- 19:37Speaker 5: The game has changed a lot, but like.
- 19:40Speaker 7: Now you're sort of plugging in guys that you know, like,
- 19:43Speaker 7: you know, Christian Alis has been a special team right now,
- 19:46Speaker 7: he's got a bigger role as a defense again, no
- 19:48Speaker 7: dame on coming off a great game Monday.
- 19:50Speaker 5: Night, they had like a pro bowler like to fill in,
- 19:55Speaker 5: you know.
- 19:55Speaker 7: And and at that time it was like Roman Peiffer
- 19:58Speaker 7: was a really good player with the RAM before he
- 20:00Speaker 7: ever got here, and he was like one of those
- 20:03Speaker 7: guys and Bill used to that was the joke, you know,
- 20:05Speaker 7: like what's your role? You know, it's like when you
- 20:08Speaker 7: you know we're gonna use you situationally, the situation ended
- 20:11Speaker 7: up being every play like him and Rabel played like
- 20:14Speaker 7: over a thousand snaps.
- 20:15Speaker 5: Like but I was so good.
- 20:17Speaker 3: I remember with Fifer. In order to get him here,
- 20:19Speaker 3: Bill had to give make a deal that because he
- 20:22Speaker 3: lived in California, you could go home and not come
- 20:24Speaker 3: back to Wednesday.
- 20:26Speaker 7: Because he was going through a divorce and he wanted
- 20:28Speaker 7: to see his kids, and Bill let him. Bill let
- 20:31Speaker 7: him come back on on uh on Wednesdays, he would
- 20:34Speaker 7: he would skip Monday and Monday and Tuesday.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Speed writes an email which reminds me of one of
- 20:40Speaker 3: my commute takes that I developed, and it has to
- 20:44Speaker 3: do with the whole Oh, they got a soft schedule
- 20:47Speaker 3: and all this stuff. Everyone agrees that there's not a
- 20:50Speaker 3: lot of, you know, difference between teams in the league
- 20:54Speaker 3: in terms of score. A lot most of these games
- 20:56Speaker 3: are one score game, So what does the schedule matter? Like,
- 21:00Speaker 3: if you're ten and if you're eleven and two in
- 21:02Speaker 3: this league, even if your schedule data wise is the softest,
- 21:09Speaker 3: there's still not a lot of separation between teams in
- 21:13Speaker 3: this league, So what does it matter?
- 21:15Speaker 4: I think that's a fair take.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good take. I do.
- 21:18Speaker 4: I think, you know, if one of my nerd friends
- 21:20Speaker 4: did a deep dive on this and found out that
- 21:24Speaker 4: the difference between I think I should get this right,
- 21:27Speaker 4: but the difference between the Patriots schedule and I believe
- 21:32Speaker 4: the hardest schedule in the league is the difference of
- 21:35Speaker 4: like point zero three EPA. Like it's like literally like
- 21:39Speaker 4: a fraction. And the difference between Drake May's schedule in
- 21:44Speaker 4: Matthew Stafford's schedule when you just look at the defenses
- 21:47Speaker 4: that the two not the teams overall, but just the defenses,
- 21:51Speaker 4: is like this like minute minute decimal of difference in
- 21:55Speaker 4: terms of expected points added or EPA. So it's I
- 22:00Speaker 4: know Paul's going to disagree, but you know.
- 22:02Speaker 3: It's it's a fact that they have the easiest schedule.
- 22:05Speaker 3: But what does that mean? You have to look at it.
- 22:07Speaker 4: He did a whole deep dive because they were talking
- 22:09Speaker 4: about Drake May MVP and people are holding the schedule
- 22:12Speaker 4: against him, and he was saying that if you look
- 22:15Speaker 4: at it, the schedule difference between him and Matthew Stafford
- 22:18Speaker 4: is in terms of the defenses that they went up
- 22:21Speaker 4: against is minimal, right, It's decimal points YEP.
- 22:26Speaker 8: So anyway, yeah, I just like to watch good games
- 22:30Speaker 8: against teams to get me excited.
- 22:31Speaker 6: That's like, I mean, the schedule stuff to me, That's
- 22:33Speaker 6: what it really.
- 22:34Speaker 8: Comes down to, is like I I just prefer to
- 22:36Speaker 8: watch games against good teams, you know, exciting teams, you know,
- 22:40Speaker 8: and well, you know, meaningful.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Games, and meaningful games usually occur with teams that are
- 22:45Speaker 3: good and they have stuff to play for it, especially
- 22:48Speaker 3: this time of the year.
- 22:48Speaker 6: I mean, there's there's thirty two NFL teams.
- 22:50Speaker 3: So so anyway, eight five five Pass five hundred is
- 22:53Speaker 3: the Hotline podcast at Patriots dot com is the email address.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Let's you know, it's getting colder out, sure is so
- 23:01Speaker 3: I hope that you're ready for some snow because I'm
- 23:03Speaker 3: predicting we're gonna have a lot of snow this one.
- 23:09Speaker 5: I'm sorry what I had.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Seven inches of snow this week, did you?
- 23:12Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 23:12Speaker 2: Monday Tuesday, after we finished.
- 23:18Speaker 10: The Mountains, when we were finished recording that show on Monday,
- 23:21Speaker 10: I maybe hung out for an hour and then tried
- 23:24Speaker 10: to go back. I saw like three cars spun out.
- 23:27Speaker 10: The roads are terrible. The pike was not ready for
- 23:29Speaker 10: any snow.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I got a ton I had to.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Clean my car.
- 23:32Speaker 7: It was like snow outside of four ninety five, Like
- 23:35Speaker 7: I didn't get any snow at all, like not even
- 23:36Speaker 7: a coating really, but I knew there was some snow.
- 23:40Speaker 7: I didn't realize it was like like significant snow.
- 23:44Speaker 4: We got a little overnight, little dusting overnight that I
- 23:46Speaker 4: woke up to.
- 23:47Speaker 3: But other than that, well, it's there's more coming and
- 23:50Speaker 3: it's going to continue to fall. And what it does,
- 23:54Speaker 3: Aaron's is ready to help you tackle it. Aaron's is
- 23:56Speaker 3: proud to be the official snowblower of the New England Patriots.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Visit aarons dot com to find your arrans. So I
- 24:04Speaker 3: started mine up last week, just to make sure we're
- 24:07Speaker 3: good to go. We're good to go. No, I plug
- 24:10Speaker 3: it electrics in.
- 24:11Speaker 6: Oh, it's a it's an electric.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Yeah, you bring the extension court out.
- 24:16Speaker 6: You gotta keep it plugged.
- 24:17Speaker 3: You can, you can pull it, but it's much easier
- 24:19Speaker 3: to just plug it in and press a button.
- 24:21Speaker 5: And that's an electric snowblower.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Wow, I like it.
- 24:23Speaker 6: I like that you had an electric lawnmower.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Well, you don't charge it, there's no battery.
- 24:27Speaker 7: But this is when I was Yeah, when I was
- 24:29Speaker 7: little and I had a running over extension course ten
- 24:33Speaker 7: of them. Easy, easy. But I had, like I lived
- 24:37Speaker 7: in Edward, we had a tiny like Alan was like
- 24:40Speaker 7: maybe twice the size of the studio.
- 24:41Speaker 3: What do you need?
- 24:43Speaker 7: He didn't need a John Deere, you know, or an Errands,
- 24:49Speaker 7: so we did.
- 24:50Speaker 5: We had an electric lawnmower. Yeah, plug it in.
- 24:53Speaker 7: The in the garage. That's what I have.
- 24:55Speaker 3: I go around. I have one now and every once
- 24:57Speaker 3: in a while I would back up, Well you should
- 25:01Speaker 3: get the robotic one.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Just sit back.
- 25:07Speaker 7: I've said this before.
- 25:09Speaker 5: It's a sneaky It's a sneaky.
- 25:11Speaker 7: Thing that I complain about that I actually like doing.
- 25:14Speaker 7: I enjoy cutting the grass.
- 25:16Speaker 6: You do a fall clean up at all, you guys
- 25:18Speaker 6: raking leaves getting I.
- 25:19Speaker 5: Did some leaves about two weeks ago.
- 25:21Speaker 7: I could probably do another one at some point over
- 25:24Speaker 7: the weekend, but probably won't because I'm going to go
- 25:26Speaker 7: in the Evan route instead and just sit on my
- 25:28Speaker 7: butt and watch football.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I don't understand raking leaves.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Yeah, they're just going you don't understand it?
- 25:33Speaker 10: Yeah, why do Aesthetically I understand, but from an ecosystem perspective, like,
- 25:38Speaker 10: why wouldn't you just want it?
- 25:40Speaker 2: It's a decompose into the grass.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Well, here's the thing, nutrients.
- 25:45Speaker 3: If you do have a nice lawn, or you care
- 25:47Speaker 3: about having a nice if you leave it there all
- 25:50Speaker 3: winter and then the snow gets on it, it's not
- 25:52Speaker 3: good for the lawn. Really. The mulchit you can get some.
- 25:55Speaker 7: You can get some like brown spots and beare spots
- 25:59Speaker 7: because it can kill the grass. But it's gotta be
- 26:01Speaker 7: really bad to do that for the most part. Like
- 26:04Speaker 7: I don't have that much, and I just have like
- 26:07Speaker 7: a small leaf blower and I just go spend.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Like a half flowing into the neighbors.
- 26:11Speaker 5: You sucked them up and it comes into a bag
- 26:15Speaker 5: and you just empty the bat.
- 26:18Speaker 4: I used to break leaves for some cash on the side,
- 26:23Speaker 4: raking leaves, not a little blue collar. And then I
- 26:30Speaker 4: can't give myself too much credit because one time I
- 26:34Speaker 4: thought it would be cool to put the car stereo
- 26:37Speaker 4: on while breaking the leaves, and I killed the car.
- 26:41Speaker 4: And so I'm parked in this like stranger's driveway and
- 26:44Speaker 4: need them and uh, And I go to get back
- 26:47Speaker 4: in my car with my friend who was we were,
- 26:49Speaker 4: you know, doing it together business partner correct, And I
- 26:52Speaker 4: gotta and I called my dad. I'm like, yeah, I
- 26:55Speaker 4: think the battery is dead. And he was like how
- 26:58Speaker 4: And I was like the radio for the last three hours.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Man, all right, So it wasn't all good. It was
- 27:06Speaker 3: all right, Well, we got a lot on the table.
- 27:08Speaker 3: None of it's football, but.
- 27:10Speaker 7: Oh yes, some of it was Charvion Henderson.
- 27:12Speaker 3: I know, by the way, Pepsi sugar zero, it's a
- 27:18Speaker 3: fan vote. Yeah, so that might explain why, because are
- 27:22Speaker 3: you reads? Our fans are very active emails while he
- 27:25Speaker 3: was saying it, our fans are very active.
- 27:27Speaker 5: Correct, strong showing in the Pro Bowl voting already too.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Right, Michael's in Texas. What's up, Michael?
- 27:37Speaker 12: Hey Thursday?
- 27:38Speaker 3: You too?
- 27:39Speaker 6: Thanks?
- 27:41Speaker 12: Hey, I got a quick question. So I know that
- 27:43Speaker 12: the road to the first seed has it has its obstacles,
- 27:48Speaker 12: But as for winning the division outright, I am kind
- 27:51Speaker 12: of curious. So if if the Bengals win this weekend
- 27:57Speaker 12: against the Bills, does that mean that no, in theory,
- 28:01Speaker 12: regardless of the outcome next weekend, would we win the division?
- 28:05Speaker 11: No?
- 28:08Speaker 12: Okay, that's all that I was curious of if I
- 28:11Speaker 12: should be watching for that kind of an excitement, So
- 28:13Speaker 12: then regardless, we still need to be winning against the
- 28:16Speaker 12: Bills to want Well.
- 28:17Speaker 3: We don't have to beat the Bills to win the division, but.
- 28:20Speaker 7: If they do beat the Bills automatically, right, it's over right,
- 28:24Speaker 7: clinches it.
- 28:25Speaker 4: Yeah, but they if they beat the Jets and the Dolphins,
- 28:27Speaker 4: they can lose to the Bills, right and still win
- 28:30Speaker 4: the division. Right, But then you probably have to wait
- 28:33Speaker 4: maybe even all the way till Week eighteen against the
- 28:35Speaker 4: Dolphins to officially clinch. So let's not let's not go down.
- 28:39Speaker 3: The best way is just beat the Bills and the
- 28:41Speaker 3: hat and T shirtuts and it's done at home.
- 28:44Speaker 6: What are the conference clinching scenarios.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Like this gets very confusing?
- 28:48Speaker 3: Yea.
- 28:48Speaker 4: So there's conference record, which is the number one tiebreaker,
- 28:52Speaker 4: thanks Michael. Then there's win percentage against common opponents because
- 28:56Speaker 4: there's no head to head because the Patriots aren't playing
- 28:58Speaker 4: the Broncos, so that's not going to be that's the
- 29:00Speaker 4: first one. Then there's win percentage against common opponents, which
- 29:04Speaker 4: as long as the Broncos beat the Raiders on Sunday,
- 29:08Speaker 4: they're going to have in their favor. So the Patriots
- 29:12Speaker 4: are going to have to have a better conference record
- 29:14Speaker 4: than the Broncos, which I believe. I don't know if
- 29:17Speaker 4: that's going to be possible based off of the rest
- 29:20Speaker 4: of the schedule. So really, the Patriots are gonna have
- 29:23Speaker 4: to finish with a better outright record than Denver. If
- 29:27Speaker 4: both teams win out, Denver is going to be the
- 29:29Speaker 4: number one seed, so they have they have to be
- 29:31Speaker 4: able to.
- 29:33Speaker 3: To lose.
- 29:34Speaker 4: But Denver has a tough back end of their schedule. Yes,
- 29:37Speaker 4: so it's Green Bay, Kansas City, Jacksonville Chargers to wrap
- 29:43Speaker 4: up the year.
- 29:44Speaker 7: For the little tougher than the Patriots.
- 29:45Speaker 4: I don't know if they're running the table against those fields.
- 29:48Speaker 7: But if they go let's say they go three and
- 29:50Speaker 7: two and the Patriots go two and two, I think
- 29:54Speaker 7: Denver would get it.
- 29:55Speaker 4: Yes, you know correct, So it's not because they're both
- 29:58Speaker 4: six and two in conference and then the Patriots finish
- 30:01Speaker 4: all four games are in the a f C. So
- 30:04Speaker 4: if the Patriots, you know, lose, go too and two
- 30:07Speaker 4: in the conference, you know, the end the year, then
- 30:09Speaker 4: they're going.
- 30:09Speaker 8: To lose the Maybe in the newsletter next week we
- 30:12Speaker 8: should start doing a little rooting guy like you know these.
- 30:14Speaker 4: Are well the Bills did that and got dragged that
- 30:18Speaker 4: I'm not doing it.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Then we don't have to because the teams they had
- 30:22Speaker 3: to root for were the worst teams in the league.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Well, they also don't have to promote it on social media.
- 30:27Speaker 7: Why do you get everybody does that?
- 30:30Speaker 4: Not a team.
- 30:31Speaker 3: I've never seen a team do that.
- 30:33Speaker 7: Did they like what?
- 30:33Speaker 6: It was like a social thing where yeah, with social graphic.
- 30:40Speaker 2: It's our subculture as the back.
- 30:44Speaker 4: It's very different. It's very different than what the Bills posted,
- 30:48Speaker 4: like we're rooting for like the Giants and the Raiders
- 30:51Speaker 4: and the Titans.
- 30:53Speaker 3: It's like, you know, it was like, here's your rooting Guyea, Bills,
- 30:56Speaker 3: here's your rooting guide for this weekend. We listed these
- 31:00Speaker 3: teams and they were all the worst teams in the league,
- 31:01Speaker 3: and people were like, you know, good luck with that.
- 31:05Speaker 7: Well dragged.
- 31:06Speaker 5: They were like, you have no chance of that.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Now.
- 31:08Speaker 7: They were also getting because I've done that.
- 31:11Speaker 3: I'm just telling you, but you're not patriots social.
- 31:15Speaker 7: No, But I put on the of the common then
- 31:18Speaker 7: I tweet out the link. So what's the difference you
- 31:20Speaker 7: did do that?
- 31:21Speaker 4: Of course, the difference is that people have to click on.
- 31:24Speaker 5: I haven't done it in years.
- 31:25Speaker 4: For obvious.
- 31:27Speaker 10: People have to click on a link or on Twitter
- 31:29Speaker 10: and social media. It's like, here, make fun of me,
- 31:31Speaker 10: and this is on a silver platter for you to
- 31:33Speaker 10: do it. No one has to click anything.
- 31:36Speaker 2: It's just there. You know, it's easy trolling.
- 31:38Speaker 4: It's it's a different climate, as I found, which is
- 31:42Speaker 4: why fans.
- 31:43Speaker 7: This is why I don't tweet, because I would think
- 31:46Speaker 7: that that's information that your fans are interesting. Like what
- 31:49Speaker 7: what Evan just explained about the whole conference record for
- 31:52Speaker 7: Denver and the Patriots.
- 31:53Speaker 5: I don't think every Patriots fan knows that.
- 31:55Speaker 7: Often what you're worried about that just win and you
- 32:01Speaker 7: don't have to worry about Obviously you're rooting for your
- 32:04Speaker 7: team to win. But like if you're like to Evan's point,
- 32:08Speaker 7: like Patriots fans, you know, root for the Raiders this week.
- 32:14Speaker 10: In one way, you're presenting playoff scenarios in kind of
- 32:17Speaker 10: a more professional way, like editorially, and the other is like, hey,
- 32:22Speaker 10: root for all these teams that have no chance and
- 32:24Speaker 10: just make fun of us.
- 32:25Speaker 7: But see, I mean, I won't now and we don't
- 32:28Speaker 7: really write anything anymore, so I don't have to worry
- 32:31Speaker 7: about it. But you don't anything we have to mean,
- 32:35Speaker 7: I mean, you want breakdowns like basically the only thing
- 32:37Speaker 7: we write it. I appreciate that, but the Raiders. The
- 32:42Speaker 7: Raiders were like that be a rooting guide. I would
- 32:46Speaker 7: be if I was still doing what I had done
- 32:48Speaker 7: the last five years, I would be writing, this is
- 32:50Speaker 7: your rooting gude this week?
- 32:51Speaker 2: You want do you want to do it this week?
- 32:53Speaker 12: No?
- 32:53Speaker 7: Evidently it's the worst thing in the world. You are right, Alex,
- 32:59Speaker 7: thank you for that. I can't smoke, but I don't
- 33:02Speaker 7: want to invite the smoke.
- 33:03Speaker 4: I also think that it was partially like we're this
- 33:06Speaker 4: is the Bills we're talking about, Like this is a
- 33:08Speaker 4: team that's supposed to be a Super Bowl contender, and
- 33:10Speaker 4: they're like, we got a root for the Raiders, you know.
- 33:13Speaker 3: Like so it was.
- 33:16Speaker 5: Just out of curiosity. But would it all be inside
- 33:19Speaker 5: the one twenty eight area?
- 33:20Speaker 7: Yeah, because that's what this sounds like to me, because
- 33:22Speaker 7: I absolutely been rooting for the Raiders if I were
- 33:24Speaker 7: a Patriots fan this week. And I don't think it's
- 33:25Speaker 7: anything embarrassing about Yeah.
- 33:26Speaker 4: No, I said, the ESPN has a playoff machine that
- 33:30Speaker 4: you and I spend a little bit too much time
- 33:32Speaker 4: valuable tool, and so you can what you can do
- 33:36Speaker 4: is you can pick the games and then it tells
- 33:38Speaker 4: you how it impacts the standings. So I've gone through
- 33:41Speaker 4: and done plenty of permutations with the Denver Broncos and
- 33:44Speaker 4: the Patriots to figure out how we don't have to
- 33:47Speaker 4: go to Denver early for me to do it, but
- 33:50Speaker 4: that it's only four weeks.
- 33:51Speaker 7: The ESPN Playoff Predictor is one of the most valuable
- 33:54Speaker 7: tools out there because.
- 33:55Speaker 4: We all don't want to go play in Denver. So
- 33:57Speaker 4: I'm trying to figure out how do we avoid playing
- 34:00Speaker 4: in Denver.
- 34:02Speaker 5: Attitude we played bro, I don't.
- 34:05Speaker 4: Because I'm taking Drake. Yeah, but weren't you the.
- 34:10Speaker 3: One last week saying you don't want to play in Denver.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Weren't you the one saying that.
- 34:16Speaker 7: That's probably me?
- 34:17Speaker 4: There's no way that was I thought you were.
- 34:20Speaker 2: You were the one saying Evan was getting told for
- 34:22Speaker 2: dismissing Denver not caring.
- 34:24Speaker 7: I know now he is, but I thought I have
- 34:26Speaker 7: to defend Evan actually said that he would rather play
- 34:29Speaker 7: Kansas City than Denver.
- 34:31Speaker 4: I did, and that's how this all started.
- 34:33Speaker 5: Okay, okay, you know a lot of people.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Maybe you were the one saying I don't want to
- 34:37Speaker 3: play Kansas City.
- 34:38Speaker 4: I don't want to play Kansas City. Why is that
- 34:41Speaker 4: because they have Patrick Mahomes Okay, have freaking.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Nothing to do with their city, because we wouldn't playing
- 34:47Speaker 3: right now. Yea.
- 34:49Speaker 4: My whole take on this has been the same. I
- 34:50Speaker 4: just don't want to play like. I'd rather play like
- 34:53Speaker 4: not the good quarterbacks, Like, if they can avoid Burrow Mahomes,
- 34:57Speaker 4: Lamar Allen, they get a road that is, you know,
- 35:02Speaker 4: Daniel Jones and bow Nicks to the Super Bowl. I agree,
- 35:06Speaker 4: like I would much rather that.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Run scarier than the offense.
- 35:12Speaker 4: Yeah, that's all I've said significantly.
- 35:14Speaker 5: Yeah, he's been consistent.
- 35:16Speaker 4: The future Hall of Fame quarterbacks.
- 35:17Speaker 3: Don't know scared all right, let's go to you and
- 35:21Speaker 3: I don't like that. I lock you. Let's go to
- 35:25Speaker 3: Tony in Canada. What's up Tony, Tony, Hi, guys.
- 35:29Speaker 13: Good morning. So yeah, I'm kind of glad that we
- 35:33Speaker 13: won't have things locked up until next week when we
- 35:37Speaker 13: play Buffalo, assuming we beat them. But listening to Alex
- 35:42Speaker 13: and Barth Catch twenty two on their last show, they
- 35:46Speaker 13: talked about how the Patriots have been struggling lately to
- 35:50Speaker 13: shut down the running game. So I'm wondering is that
- 35:54Speaker 13: a possibility. Can we lock that back up again and
- 35:57Speaker 13: really you know, keep Buffalo because I know that's how
- 36:00Speaker 13: we won our last game. I think we we put
- 36:03Speaker 13: it on their running game and we were basically able
- 36:06Speaker 13: to shut out the rest of it. Is that a
- 36:08Speaker 13: possibility that we can do that? And if not, how
- 36:10Speaker 13: do you guys see us winning welcoming playoffs?
- 36:14Speaker 3: I think it starts at least that week getting Tonga back. Yeah,
- 36:18Speaker 3: that would that would really help. But then you know
- 36:20Speaker 3: you're not gonna have Milton Williams and he was a
- 36:22Speaker 3: big part of stopping the run.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that's the good news is that they're
- 36:30Speaker 4: supposed to get both Tonga and Williams back.
- 36:32Speaker 3: Oh you think so, well, not for this game, but
- 36:34Speaker 3: yeah eventually yeah, but he's talking about the Buffalo.
- 36:37Speaker 4: Thought, Oh yeah, but like big picture, Oh yeah, they're
- 36:40Speaker 4: gonna get maybe even Tonga back after the bye, so
- 36:44Speaker 4: it's you know, help is on the way. But over
- 36:47Speaker 4: the last month, their run defenses down near the bottom
- 36:50Speaker 4: of the league in pretty much every stat you know,
- 36:52Speaker 4: yards per carry, e PA, rush success, whatever, So they've
- 36:56Speaker 4: kind of fallen off a cliff like they were great
- 36:58Speaker 4: for the first nine weeks of the season, and Milton
- 37:00Speaker 4: Williams gets hurt, Tonga gets banged up, and all of
- 37:03Speaker 4: a sudden, the run defense is falling apart a little bit.
- 37:05Speaker 4: So Buffalo ran for two forty nine against Pittsburgh last week,
- 37:10Speaker 4: and then you have Baltimore the following week, so that
- 37:14Speaker 4: is and they're not going to get Milton Williams back
- 37:17Speaker 4: for either of those games, right, So it is a
- 37:19Speaker 4: little scary.
- 37:20Speaker 8: You just hope that, you know, guys like splain maybe
- 37:23Speaker 8: the heel up a little bit, get a little bit refreshed.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Night.
- 37:26Speaker 8: Seems to me like that as I've read more, it
- 37:29Speaker 8: seems like management with Spalaine getting him off the field,
- 37:31Speaker 8: getting Landry off the field, that was you know, we
- 37:33Speaker 8: were wondering if he was sick, if he got hurt.
- 37:35Speaker 6: But it seems like so.
- 37:37Speaker 7: I'll ask you, I'll last dream makes sense. I'm not
- 37:39Speaker 7: sure about the other.
- 37:40Speaker 3: I'll ask you ball knowers. If you go into Buffalo
- 37:43Speaker 3: and the next week Baltimore without Milton Williams, does going
- 37:49Speaker 3: man to man more help you.
- 37:52Speaker 4: Try to scheme to stop the run because you can
- 37:56Speaker 4: get the extra hat in the box. Yeah, I guess
- 37:58Speaker 4: In theory. You know, I would like to see them
- 38:00Speaker 4: maybe play some bass against Buffalo.
- 38:03Speaker 3: But what is based on this team?
- 38:05Speaker 4: Base defense? But what is their base just four guys no, no,
- 38:10Speaker 4: like through actual base defense. Yeah, not basically Spline and
- 38:14Speaker 4: Gibbs like like like by definitely like the actual base
- 38:18Speaker 4: No Marcus Jones, four defensive backs Mary, Yeah, because I don't.
- 38:23Speaker 4: I just don't think that, you know, Buffalo's downfield passing
- 38:26Speaker 4: game is anything to worry about, especially with your corners.
- 38:30Speaker 7: So it's not wrong.
- 38:32Speaker 4: I think they're going to reinvent themselves a little bit
- 38:34Speaker 4: around James Cook being sort of the engine of their offense,
- 38:37Speaker 4: because that's their best thing they got going right now.
- 38:40Speaker 4: And if I'm the Patriots, I'd put five guys up
- 38:44Speaker 4: on the line of scrimmage and I challenge them to
- 38:47Speaker 4: throw the ball down the field against Davis and Gonzalez.
- 38:50Speaker 6: The mobility though of Allen and and Lamar Warre you
- 38:54Speaker 6: the man defense, it.
- 38:55Speaker 7: Would worry me a little bit. And it also the
- 38:58Speaker 7: stage of the season that we're in with those two
- 39:00Speaker 7: teams and the desperation factor I expect to I don't
- 39:05Speaker 7: know about Lamar because he clearly is not healthy, but
- 39:09Speaker 7: with Allen, I think you might see a different version
- 39:12Speaker 7: of Allen. And I'm not talking about playing better than
- 39:14Speaker 7: he did in the first game. Just like Superhero Allan,
- 39:17Speaker 7: this is the time of year. We can't afford anymore
- 39:19Speaker 7: slip ups. We need this game and he's gonna get
- 39:22Speaker 7: Superman it.
- 39:23Speaker 4: I just wonder if you know, if you put if
- 39:25Speaker 4: you're rushing five or using the five guys in the
- 39:29Speaker 4: line of scrimmage to stop the run, in theory, you're
- 39:30Speaker 4: covering all the gaps on the line of scrimmage. So
- 39:33Speaker 4: like if you play with discipline and in your sound
- 39:36Speaker 4: and your gaps, like you know, you can make it
- 39:38Speaker 4: so that he can't really go anywhere, you know, if
- 39:41Speaker 4: you're if you're on your p's and q's with it.
- 39:43Speaker 4: But you know, I just I watched Buffalo and you
- 39:47Speaker 4: can't let them run on you like they did against Pittsburgh,
- 39:49Speaker 4: like you have to. Like that's that's the engine of
- 39:52Speaker 4: the offense right now, is James Cook and they're running games.
- 39:54Speaker 7: And I do get that they ran for a ton
- 39:58Speaker 7: of yards. I just you don't score doing that. But
- 40:01Speaker 7: it's and I'm not being stubborn, like they only scored
- 40:04Speaker 7: nineteen points. But Pittsburgh never had the ball either, So
- 40:08Speaker 7: all that time that they're running like that, you can't score.
- 40:12Speaker 7: And that's got Drake May on the sideline. That's got
- 40:14Speaker 7: to be part of you know, that's probably part of
- 40:16Speaker 7: Sean mcdermot's mindset. If he does what Evans saying and
- 40:20Speaker 7: turns it over to Cook and they have success doing it,
- 40:22Speaker 7: they might not score a lot of points, but they're
- 40:24Speaker 7: going to keep the score down.
- 40:25Speaker 3: I wonder though, because Rogers didn't look good in that game,
- 40:30Speaker 3: their offense. Steelers offense didn't look good.
- 40:33Speaker 5: I wonder if the Steels offense is terrible.
- 40:34Speaker 3: Yeah, so I wonder if they if the Bills were
- 40:36Speaker 3: playing a good offense, how that would change what they're doing.
- 40:41Speaker 7: Well, I would just say, like, in the first half,
- 40:43Speaker 7: did you watch the game at all? Yeah, seriously, because
- 40:45Speaker 7: the first half Buffalo completely controlled and they were losing
- 40:50Speaker 7: seven to three. To your point, Fred, like, if you
- 40:53Speaker 7: can't score right, and then you're giving a good offense
- 40:57Speaker 7: for New England, the opportunity maybe that they maybe the
- 41:00Speaker 7: Patriots come out of that first half if Buffalo squanders
- 41:04Speaker 7: you know, Allan threw a pick to stop the first drive.
- 41:08Speaker 7: James Cook fumbled by knocking the ball out of his
- 41:11Speaker 7: own hands with his own knee on another drive that
- 41:14Speaker 7: they were on the move, and that happens. You know,
- 41:17Speaker 7: stuff like that happens, and the scores down. May's going
- 41:20Speaker 7: to put seventeen on the board and now you're down
- 41:22Speaker 7: seventeen three instead of seven three. Can you go out
- 41:25Speaker 7: and run the ball thirty times in the second half again?
- 41:28Speaker 4: But I think this is why they're gonna My guess
- 41:32Speaker 4: is his buffalo is going to come out in that
- 41:33Speaker 4: game and try to run the ball. So if you
- 41:35Speaker 4: stop the run, that's how you you know, that's how
- 41:38Speaker 4: you build a seventeen to three lead at halftime. I
- 41:40Speaker 4: don't know if they're going to get the turnover look
- 41:42Speaker 4: that Pittsburgh has gotten really all year, frankly.
- 41:45Speaker 7: But what I'm saying is if you if you don't
- 41:47Speaker 7: stop the run, worst case scenario, it's.
- 41:49Speaker 4: Like what happened, possessed the ball for forty two minutes.
- 41:52Speaker 7: But if they don't score touchdowns and the Patriots get
- 41:55Speaker 7: the ball, they're not going to do it.
- 41:56Speaker 5: Aaron I am with Fred on this.
- 41:57Speaker 7: Aaron Rodgers was so bad and Pittsburgh's offense was so
- 42:00Speaker 7: bad that it allowed Buffalo to eventually get going in
- 42:03Speaker 7: the second half. Now, maybe they get going right out
- 42:06Speaker 7: of the shoot if they run the ball, they don't
- 42:08Speaker 7: turn the ball over the way they did against Pittsburgh, and.
- 42:11Speaker 5: They get a lead of their own. But I take
- 42:13Speaker 5: my chances.
- 42:14Speaker 4: I just look at you know, like the way Houston
- 42:16Speaker 4: played them, which I think is more indicative of like
- 42:18Speaker 4: a straight up game, like Buffalo fumbling and James Cook
- 42:23Speaker 4: fumbling because he hits himself in the knee and then
- 42:25Speaker 4: fumbles the ball does not count as like a great
- 42:27Speaker 4: defensive playerable, right, So you know, Houston really got them
- 42:31Speaker 4: into third and long and they don't have any answers
- 42:33Speaker 4: on third and long, no other than Josh Allen doing
- 42:36Speaker 4: something crazy.
- 42:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:37Speaker 4: So like I just I think that, you know, when
- 42:40Speaker 4: you watch their team, their offensive line and James Cook
- 42:43Speaker 4: is the best thing that they got going right now offensively,
- 42:45Speaker 4: I think even better than Allen. Like Allen's not played
- 42:48Speaker 4: particularly great for the last month or so.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Yeah, the last five weeks.
- 42:51Speaker 4: So I think that those two things are Their offensive
- 42:54Speaker 4: line is fantastic.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:56Speaker 8: When Tongo was a big part of that week that
- 42:57Speaker 8: win for the Patriots too, it was really dominant side him.
- 43:00Speaker 6: Remember we get national attention for that.
- 43:01Speaker 2: That was like his breakout game where we were all like,
- 43:03Speaker 2: holy crap, Tonga.
- 43:04Speaker 8: Yeah, I wonder too though to your point out of
- 43:07Speaker 8: you know, containing Alan playing your gaps. If you've got
- 43:11Speaker 8: Josh Farmer playing a little bit, you've got Elijah Ponder
- 43:14Speaker 8: playing a little bit, you know, some of these less
- 43:16Speaker 8: experienced guys who maybe aren't quite as disciplined, and you know,
- 43:19Speaker 8: Corey Durden, like, you know, are they gonna lose the
- 43:21Speaker 8: gap integrity?
- 43:22Speaker 7: And I would just say, you know, like that night,
- 43:26Speaker 7: all those things that you just said happened, and Buffalo
- 43:29Speaker 7: still scored twenty points while turning the ball over three
- 43:31Speaker 7: times and committing eleven penalties. So you might need a
- 43:35Speaker 7: little help again if you're gonna eat, because I do that.
- 43:38Speaker 7: I mean, James Cook didn't have fifty yards. They didn't
- 43:41Speaker 7: let James Cook run all over him that night, Tong guy,
- 43:43Speaker 7: I do remember exactly what you and Alex were talking about.
- 43:45Speaker 5: He had a big game that.
- 43:47Speaker 4: Yeah, the gap discipline is huge because Cook is he
- 43:49Speaker 4: wants to cut it back. So like if you over
- 43:52Speaker 4: pursue the ball, He's just going to cut it back.
- 43:54Speaker 4: And so it's not just against Alan, it's also their
- 43:57Speaker 4: run games, very zone heavy, and they want to set
- 43:59Speaker 4: up those ut back lanes and if you get out
- 44:01Speaker 4: of your gap, then he's just gonna hit it.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Anthony's in Seattle, Hey, Anthony, with my people, How you doing.
- 44:10Speaker 5: I feel like we had a little bit of a
- 44:11Speaker 5: mind mail.
- 44:12Speaker 14: Would you guys think it was going a little bit
- 44:13Speaker 14: tripped down memory lane talking about some old hatreds teams.
- 44:18Speaker 7: I it's funny.
- 44:19Speaker 14: I was talking to a guy yesterday and I said, man,
- 44:21Speaker 14: we only got four games left.
- 44:24Speaker 7: I got it blew by.
- 44:25Speaker 14: I'm you know, I tell you what I'm I'm never
- 44:27Speaker 14: going to forget this twenty twenty five Patriots team. And
- 44:31Speaker 14: it made me realize, like, you know, this is the
- 44:33Speaker 14: first team that I you know, got on a plane
- 44:35Speaker 14: and went, you know, flew out and to go see
- 44:37Speaker 14: play at Gilette. The twenty twenty five fan experience, you
- 44:41Speaker 14: know where I'm able to you know, stick it to
- 44:43Speaker 14: some bills fans. I had one guy just throwing the towel.
- 44:45Speaker 14: He doesn't even respond to me anymore. Like this, this
- 44:48Speaker 14: is this has been a I could feel myself looking
- 44:50Speaker 14: back already at this team that they're either going to
- 44:52Speaker 14: win a title, which is going to immortalize them, or
- 44:56Speaker 14: you know, they're not. And I'm still gonna kind of
- 44:58Speaker 14: look back and smile and say, Man, that twenty twenty
- 45:01Speaker 14: five team, that's you know, they were good.
- 45:02Speaker 15: They just were They just were too young.
- 45:04Speaker 14: And it made me think about, you know, either way,
- 45:06Speaker 14: this is this is one of my favorite teams. And
- 45:09Speaker 14: it made me think a little bit about how Evan
- 45:11Speaker 14: speaks about the twenty fifteen team, and I was curious,
- 45:14Speaker 14: if you guys have any of like not the obvious ones,
- 45:18Speaker 14: not the championship ones, and or even like seven which
- 45:21Speaker 14: didn't win a championship.
- 45:22Speaker 16: Do you guys have.
- 45:23Speaker 5: Any that are like this is?
- 45:25Speaker 14: This is one of my favorite teams that if I
- 45:27Speaker 14: had to make a list of my top ten, I
- 45:28Speaker 14: don't know where i'd rank them, but I like this,
- 45:31Speaker 14: This twenty twenty five Patriots.
- 45:32Speaker 17: Team would be on my list.
- 45:34Speaker 14: And I was just curious, what if you guys have
- 45:36Speaker 14: any teams like that?
- 45:37Speaker 3: Well, it's it's certainly a likable team, there's no doubt
- 45:39Speaker 3: about it. Thanks Anthony. You know, yeah, I don't know
- 45:42Speaker 3: about talent wise, if it's one of the most talented,
- 45:45Speaker 3: ever hard to beat some of those dynasty teams and
- 45:49Speaker 3: even like late seventies, but it's you know, if if
- 45:54Speaker 3: you're talking about the likability factor, this team has to
- 45:57Speaker 3: be way up there. Yeah, what's not to like?
- 46:00Speaker 10: I think you have like your seven teams, which is
- 46:02Speaker 10: like obvious, but I think the premise of like his question,
- 46:06Speaker 10: it usually tends to be those for me, at least
- 46:08Speaker 10: those teams that are like not to bring back, like
- 46:10Speaker 10: the power of friendship, like a fact that's going on
- 46:14Speaker 10: right now. But I think about some Red Sox teams
- 46:17Speaker 10: that made like twenty one Red Sox made a good run.
- 46:20Speaker 10: Some of those like Isaiah Thomas Celtics teams that like
- 46:24Speaker 10: it was the Bridge years, but you could see yourself
- 46:26Speaker 10: getting somewhere and you really enjoyed watching even though they
- 46:29Speaker 10: weren't necessarily contenders.
- 46:32Speaker 8: Yeah, the six team to me, not because I thought
- 46:34Speaker 8: the power of friendship with that team or anything. It
- 46:36Speaker 8: was just that was the year where I felt like
- 46:37Speaker 8: I went full psycho about it.
- 46:41Speaker 4: That team was not very good news. No they weren't,
- 46:43Speaker 4: but I'm surprised you picked that up every game.
- 46:46Speaker 7: And why I think you know, that's what you're talking
- 46:48Speaker 7: about like they absolutely maximized every they had. It got
- 46:53Speaker 7: as far as they possibly could happen.
- 46:55Speaker 8: And I don't even know, to be honest, if that's
- 46:57Speaker 8: like like I love the team for what they did,
- 47:00Speaker 8: and I mean the San Diego experience for me in
- 47:02Speaker 8: the playoff that defined it.
- 47:04Speaker 6: I didn't think they were necessarily a special team.
- 47:05Speaker 8: It was just a team that I was like, truly
- 47:08Speaker 8: ride or die every moment the Dion Branch trade.
- 47:12Speaker 6: I came to the opener.
- 47:13Speaker 8: It was the first time I'd been to Gillette Stadium,
- 47:15Speaker 8: So you know, that's it's not really the answer to
- 47:17Speaker 8: the question, but that's a random team that not everybody
- 47:19Speaker 8: loves that.
- 47:20Speaker 7: I just always remember what was the opponent in the
- 47:22Speaker 7: opener at Joe's State Buffalo nineteen seventeen.
- 47:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it was safe. Me and my sister.
- 47:28Speaker 6: We had way too much fun in the parking lot.
- 47:29Speaker 6: I've told the story before.
- 47:30Speaker 8: We're sprinting up the ramps to get to our seats
- 47:32Speaker 8: because like the flyovers going on, and literally we get
- 47:34Speaker 8: to our seats, we sit down, it's like safety.
- 47:37Speaker 3: Great to start the game.
- 47:38Speaker 5: I'm like, oh, this is incredible. That was a touchdown
- 47:40Speaker 5: to start.
- 47:40Speaker 7: It was a touchdown. Sorry, I believe it was a
- 47:42Speaker 7: too Spikes strip sack fumble return for a touchdown. But
- 47:46Speaker 7: Ty Warren safety, yes, that the fourth quarter won the game.
- 47:49Speaker 6: You you nailed it, Paul Alex.
- 47:51Speaker 4: This team Tatum's rookie year, where like they took Lebron
- 47:56Speaker 4: and the Cavs a game seven, he dumps on them.
- 47:59Speaker 4: They lose, but like you were like, holy crap, like
- 48:02Speaker 4: they just arrived. Like this team is got a superstar,
- 48:05Speaker 4: and obviously Drake would be Jason Tatum in this case.
- 48:08Speaker 10: And I think that's why a big part of it
- 48:10Speaker 10: comes from like hope and the future, like looking like,
- 48:13Speaker 10: oh what could this be? Like it's like the playing
- 48:16Speaker 10: with house money effect kind of.
- 48:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:19Speaker 3: All right, I was gonna say something. I forgot what
- 48:23Speaker 3: it was. Uh honest, honest, that's his name. It's from
- 48:27Speaker 3: North Carolina. What's up?
- 48:30Speaker 17: How you doing?
- 48:31Speaker 7: All right?
- 48:32Speaker 17: Good?
- 48:33Speaker 6: What's up?
- 48:34Speaker 14: All right?
- 48:35Speaker 17: Look, I'm trying my hardest not to be delusional, but
- 48:39Speaker 17: we got an MVP, we got a Coach of the Year.
- 48:42Speaker 17: Everything is looking great. I think we about to go
- 48:45Speaker 17: get us a super Bowl.
- 48:46Speaker 3: Man, There's nothing delusional. Yeah, why not?
- 48:52Speaker 17: When I watched the Patriots play at home. It's like
- 48:55Speaker 17: I get flashbacks to Tom Brady and Bronk and Edelman
- 48:59Speaker 17: and all the good days. It's like it just the
- 49:01Speaker 17: energy feels like that and you're.
- 49:03Speaker 3: Letting know, Yeah, okay, so winning team, go with it. Honest.
- 49:07Speaker 17: No team, no team really like strikes fear in me,
- 49:12Speaker 17: like I feel I'm gonna went to the Baltimore game
- 49:14Speaker 17: week sixteen, and before the before the season started, I
- 49:19Speaker 17: was kind of scared of that game. Now I'm like,
- 49:21Speaker 17: we're gonna walk the dogs with me.
- 49:24Speaker 3: Yep, let's go. Let's go.
- 49:29Speaker 2: I love that I wrote no delusion will get you
- 49:31Speaker 2: very fat.
- 49:32Speaker 5: But I don't think it's de loosing.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Honest.
- 49:34Speaker 5: You're eleven and two right, and you got the enjoy it.
- 49:36Speaker 8: I mean, this is you've got to the point where
- 49:38Speaker 8: you don't have to worry about football this weekend. You
- 49:40Speaker 8: can sit back. You're you know, your first team to
- 49:42Speaker 8: eleven wins. I mean you should feel great. You don't
- 49:44Speaker 8: know how the rest of it's going to go, and
- 49:45Speaker 8: that's really what's gonna matter. But that's to me, I'm like,
- 49:49Speaker 8: just win the division. But this weekend should be like
- 49:51Speaker 8: you should be feeling like that because you don't know
- 49:53Speaker 8: how it's.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Gonna there's a little house money going on right now. Absolutely,
- 49:56Speaker 4: And I obviously it would be bummed if they lost
- 49:58Speaker 4: in the playoffs or you know, didn't win a playoff
- 50:01Speaker 4: game or anything. But you know this wasn't supposed to
- 50:04Speaker 4: happen this year, right. I loved take it.
- 50:07Speaker 7: Like I loved your Bridges comparison. It's like no one
- 50:11Speaker 7: expected those teams to do it. They didn't even when
- 50:13Speaker 7: Tatum got there. And your comparison of Tatum to to
- 50:17Speaker 7: Drake is is really good. Like that team wasn't good
- 50:20Speaker 7: enough drafted there, do you know what I mean?
- 50:23Speaker 4: Good point, Yeah, but.
- 50:24Speaker 7: They were there at the end of the at the
- 50:26Speaker 7: end of the day, and you could see better things were.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Coming out of North Carolina.
- 50:31Speaker 4: Yeah wrong, North Carolina School. We're gonna go.
- 50:34Speaker 3: And Chad's hanging in Dallas a second.
- 50:38Speaker 4: That's pretty cool, know the state of North Carolina.
- 50:42Speaker 16: Cha Hey, I got I'm beat down here. I'm making
- 50:47Speaker 16: it quick and easy for y'all. I think we should
- 50:50Speaker 16: take this in the off season because the wide receiver
- 50:53Speaker 16: peak is way higher than corner peak, and I feel
- 50:57Speaker 16: like an offense is more needing than the defense, right,
- 50:59Speaker 16: now with our defensive line being pretty decent and stopping
- 51:03Speaker 16: and run and everything. And the last thing I got is,
- 51:06Speaker 16: I'm really worried about the Patriots wanting out, wanting done
- 51:11Speaker 16: in the playoffs, because I really don't think they played
- 51:14Speaker 16: anybody good. And the Bills we hold. The Bills went
- 51:19Speaker 16: to high standards and everything, but we hold the The
- 51:24Speaker 16: Steelers lost to like mediocre or whatever. We shouldn't lost
- 51:28Speaker 16: that game. But the same concept happened on both sides
- 51:31Speaker 16: of the ball. I mean both teams, as in, we
- 51:35Speaker 16: we turned the ball over too much in Steelers, and
- 51:39Speaker 16: then I feel like the Bills turned the ball over
- 51:41Speaker 16: too much. And if I can get everything with equals,
- 51:44Speaker 16: that game will be a lot more tighter.
- 51:47Speaker 3: I mean, you have a real down or you want
- 51:48Speaker 3: to trade. Do you think we're gonna be one and done?
- 51:53Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I don't really understand that. I don't unders
- 52:00Speaker 4: saying the wide receiver point with with God, what do
- 52:02Speaker 4: you mean by the wide receiver?
- 52:04Speaker 3: Use the assets that you get from the trade to
- 52:06Speaker 3: get a wide receiver?
- 52:07Speaker 16: Okay, what I mean by that is I don't think
- 52:11Speaker 16: no matter how good Christianalez is chasing justin by a
- 52:17Speaker 16: higher peak can never shut those people down no matter
- 52:21Speaker 16: what at the end of the day. So I think
- 52:23Speaker 16: it's more useful to have a better wide receiver than
- 52:26Speaker 16: a really good corner.
- 52:27Speaker 7: Okay, philosophically, I mean that's that's a point of view.
- 52:30Speaker 8: Mar Yeah, would you do marginal Booty and Gonzales justin Jefferson.
- 52:36Speaker 7: With Minnesota?
- 52:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know. Maybe I don't know. I don't
- 52:41Speaker 4: necessarily agree with the premise that Gonzo. Like last year
- 52:46Speaker 4: Week one, Goza did a pretty good, darn good job
- 52:49Speaker 4: on Jamar Chase, Like you know, I guess.
- 52:52Speaker 7: I mean, I think a lot of Gonzales, but I
- 52:57Speaker 7: kind of agree with his point about the receiver is
- 53:00Speaker 7: being more important than the corner.
- 53:03Speaker 5: But Gonzo's really good. I wouldn't be wanting to trade him.
- 53:06Speaker 3: All right, let's take a break. We got a lot

- 55:21Speaker 20: really pleased to be joined by number eighty in your scorecard,
- 55:24Speaker 20: but number one in our hearts, at least for today,
- 55:26Speaker 20: the great and I'm not we we over use the
- 55:30Speaker 20: word great a lot of times.
- 55:31Speaker 4: We're not us.
- 55:32Speaker 3: We're using it today is irving Friar.
- 55:34Speaker 21: Irving, thank you so much for joining us. Really appreciate it, Matt.
- 55:38Speaker 21: It's it's my pleasure. I don't get a chance to
- 55:40Speaker 21: come back this way too often. But I'm here to
- 55:44Speaker 21: watch the game today. I'm here to cheer the Patriots on.
- 55:47Speaker 21: I'm also get a chance to see my son and
- 55:49Speaker 21: my grandchildren because they're up here in Boston.
- 55:51Speaker 3: That's great.
- 55:52Speaker 7: Is that the impetus for coming back here?
- 55:54Speaker 1: Because it's you're I mean, I just came back just
- 55:56Speaker 1: to be honest, you know, right right, I mean, it's like, what.
- 55:59Speaker 7: Was what was your impetus?
- 56:00Speaker 20: Because it's great when some of the people like, there's
- 56:02Speaker 20: a lot of people ierving in this area and understandably so,
- 56:04Speaker 20: think the franchise started in two thousand and one, and
- 56:07Speaker 20: that's not the case, you know, so when somebody like
- 56:10Speaker 20: you comes back here, you're literally franchise royalty.
- 56:13Speaker 1: What was the impetus to come back here?
- 56:14Speaker 21: Well, the impetus to come back was an email that
- 56:16Speaker 21: I received from the Patriots organization inviting some of the
- 56:20Speaker 21: alumni boss they put together an opportunity of program or
- 56:25Speaker 21: an event. I guess you could call either one of
- 56:26Speaker 21: those for us to come back and have a space
- 56:29Speaker 21: for us where we can bring a couple of guests.
- 56:31Speaker 1: And I'm real still good friends with Tony Collins.
- 56:34Speaker 21: We stay in contact with one another, and he came
- 56:36Speaker 21: several weeks ago, and I think he brought like nineteen
- 56:39Speaker 21: cats with him and they all had Tony Collins jerseys
- 56:41Speaker 21: on and I saw that he posted it.
- 56:43Speaker 1: I saw it. I called him and he told me
- 56:45Speaker 1: about it.
- 56:45Speaker 21: So I responded to the email, got in touch with Jeff,
- 56:50Speaker 21: talked with Kate, and here I am.
- 56:51Speaker 6: That's great, that's great.
- 56:53Speaker 7: Yeah, So first of all, what are you up to now?
- 56:57Speaker 7: Before we get into memory lane? You know what I yeah,
- 57:00Speaker 7: I mean, you look like you could still play. Matt
- 57:01Speaker 7: and I were joking with you with.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Ten start for sure.
- 57:04Speaker 7: It looks like you could get out and jump in
- 57:06Speaker 7: the X spot right now and run ten go routes.
- 57:09Speaker 7: No problem.
- 57:10Speaker 1: Well, I still do workout, and I work hard, so
- 57:15Speaker 1: I'm working harder. I listen.
- 57:16Speaker 21: I had some surgery a little while ago. I had
- 57:18Speaker 21: a stone in my bladder, and yeah, that was a
- 57:23Speaker 21: bad experience. So I'm doing the best that I can
- 57:26Speaker 21: to stay as healthy as I can, and part of
- 57:29Speaker 21: that is working out. But what I'm doing now, I've
- 57:32Speaker 21: been doing the past what twenty five years now, almost,
- 57:35Speaker 21: and that's I'm still pastoring.
- 57:36Speaker 6: That's great.
- 57:37Speaker 1: I'm actually pastoring at two different churches now, but I'm
- 57:40Speaker 1: still doing that.
- 57:41Speaker 21: You can't. I can't get away from it. I can't
- 57:43Speaker 21: run from it. I tried several times, trust me, and
- 57:47Speaker 21: it is what it is. It's a it's a calling
- 57:49Speaker 21: that you become a prisoner too, as the Apostle Paul
- 57:52Speaker 21: says in scripture.
- 57:53Speaker 1: And you can't get away from it. So I'm enjoying it.
- 57:56Speaker 21: I love loving people, and we need love more than
- 58:01Speaker 21: anything in today's world.
- 58:03Speaker 1: Yep, you know it better than I do.
- 58:05Speaker 21: So I do podcasts, I do some analysis with the
- 58:10Speaker 21: Eagles down in Philadelphia, but most of my work, most
- 58:14Speaker 21: of my attention, most of my focus is with the church.
- 58:16Speaker 1: And when he sold, that's great.
- 58:19Speaker 20: So let's go down memory lane, Irving, and I don't
- 58:21Speaker 20: think a lot of younger people would remember.
- 58:23Speaker 1: And you're you're in a fraternity or that's pretty select.
- 58:27Speaker 20: There aren't many wide receivers that were selected number one
- 58:32Speaker 20: overall in the draft. I know Kishan's one of them
- 58:34Speaker 20: because I can remember that that was after me, right,
- 58:37Speaker 20: And there's another gentleman whose name I can't remember.
- 58:39Speaker 1: I think from the sixties.
- 58:39Speaker 20: Yeah, you're the number one pick in the NFL What
- 58:43Speaker 20: was that like for a kid coming out of Nebraska
- 58:46Speaker 20: from South Jersey.
- 58:47Speaker 6: What was that like at the time to be the
- 58:49Speaker 6: number one pick overall?
- 58:50Speaker 21: Well, it wasn't the pomping circumstance that you have now
- 58:53Speaker 21: with all of the celebration and you know the you
- 58:56Speaker 21: know they have they sell tickets to the draft now
- 58:59Speaker 21: and it's thousands of people that show up in whatever
- 59:01Speaker 21: city they're having the draft.
- 59:02Speaker 1: It wasn't like that when I was drafted.
- 59:04Speaker 21: I actually signed my contract before the draft, and probably
- 59:08Speaker 21: by the time.
- 59:08Speaker 1: The draft came, I had spent like twenty five grand.
- 59:12Speaker 21: But the day of the draft, they sent a car
- 59:13Speaker 21: down to New Jersey, picked myself and my mother up.
- 59:16Speaker 21: We went to the draft, they announced it, we did
- 59:20Speaker 21: an interview, we got back in the car and went
- 59:22Speaker 21: back home.
- 59:23Speaker 1: That was as exciting as it was believing.
- 59:26Speaker 21: But there's something interesting that I kind of just realized
- 59:29Speaker 21: maybe several months ago I was doing an interview and
- 59:31Speaker 21: begin to talk about it and thinking about being drafted
- 59:35Speaker 21: as the number one pick.
- 59:37Speaker 1: But I was drafted as a wide receiver.
- 59:39Speaker 21: I was a wing back in college, right, So as
- 59:43Speaker 21: a wing back in college, my one on ones in
- 59:45Speaker 21: practice were in a three point stance, blocking down on
- 59:49Speaker 21: defensive ends or blocking linebackers my one on ones in practice.
- 59:53Speaker 21: Never at Nebraska were me standing up or even out
- 59:58Speaker 21: split out running routes against the as a back. So
- 1:00:01Speaker 21: the first time I had ever run a route against
- 1:00:04Speaker 21: the defensive back standing up was my first day in
- 1:00:07Speaker 21: training camp. I had never done that before, and man,
- 1:00:12Speaker 21: I got my behind quite a few times because Raymond
- 1:00:15Speaker 21: Claybourne and riding the pit. Those guys did not play.
- 1:00:18Speaker 21: They were great cornerbacks and I had to face them
- 1:00:22Speaker 21: every day. So it was a learning curve for me
- 1:00:24Speaker 21: that was pretty pretty long. It took me a minute
- 1:00:26Speaker 21: to get my feet up underneath me to learn how
- 1:00:29Speaker 21: to be a wide receiver, and we didn't throw the
- 1:00:30Speaker 21: ball that much, and I really didn't become, I feel,
- 1:00:35Speaker 21: a good receiver until I went to Miami where they
- 1:00:38Speaker 21: focused on through it.
- 1:00:39Speaker 7: So what was your experience, Like you mentioned the guys
- 1:00:41Speaker 7: on the defensive side, but you had a pretty good
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: wide receiver on the other side.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: And stands in the morning.
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: Yeah, So what was it like sort of trying to
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: pick his brain.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 1:00:50Speaker 21: Well, here's the story behind Stanley. So yes, I come in,
- 1:00:54Speaker 21: I'm a wing back. I don't have a clue as
- 1:00:57Speaker 21: to what I'm doing at the wide receiver position. So
- 1:00:59Speaker 21: I know Stanley's here. I've heard of Stanley. I've actually
- 1:01:02Speaker 21: watched him several times in games, and so I'm figuring
- 1:01:06Speaker 21: I'm going to get some tootelitch from him and he's
- 1:01:08Speaker 21: going to help me out.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: Well.
- 1:01:10Speaker 21: When I got drafted, Ron Myers was the head coach YEP.
- 1:01:13Speaker 21: Ron Myers was falling out with Stanley Morgan. They both
- 1:01:16Speaker 21: were having a falling out. I think Ron was trying
- 1:01:18Speaker 21: to get rid of Stanley. So when I came in,
- 1:01:20Speaker 21: Ron put me at the same position as Stanley, so
- 1:01:23Speaker 21: I was a threat to Stanley. He and Ron were
- 1:01:27Speaker 21: going at it. I'm on the same side, so Stanley
- 1:01:29Speaker 21: didn't talk to me. He didn't say a word to me.
- 1:01:32Speaker 21: Halfway through my rookie year, Ron Myers gets fired, Raymond
- 1:01:36Speaker 21: Barry comes in.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Raymond Barry takes me and he puts me on the
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: other side of Stanley.
- 1:01:40Speaker 21: So now Stanley and I are playing at the same time,
- 1:01:43Speaker 21: rather than me playing and Stanley on the side, or
- 1:01:45Speaker 21: Stanley playing to.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Me on the sideline. But Stanley the damage had already
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: been done, so Stanley still wasn't.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: Talking to me.
- 1:01:51Speaker 21: So my whole rookie year, and I don't blame him,
- 1:01:53Speaker 21: but my whole rookie year, Stanley didn't say a word
- 1:01:56Speaker 21: to me, not one single word, because I was a
- 1:01:59Speaker 21: threat to him.
- 1:02:00Speaker 7: Matt, we're not even ten minutes in and you're you're
- 1:02:02Speaker 7: sort of finding out why the Patriots struggled so much
- 1:02:08Speaker 7: and now great moments in.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: History. So I do the thing where you see somebody
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: in their car they're about to leave, so you pull over,
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: put your single line and just sit there. So this
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: guy in a big tesla comes up right in front
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: of me, starts giving me the hands like what what
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: I'm like? You know, most go around, go around. You know,
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: He's like, you wouldn't do it, It wouldn't go around. Finally,
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: you know, he decides, oh, I'll go around. So he
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: goes around. But then he decides to do a pull
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: up roll down. He pulls up next to me. Now
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: he pulls the pull up, pull up roll down and
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: pulls down the window. So he starts talking to me,
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: and I just say, keep effing driving, just like that.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: You had the kids in the back seat. I don't care,
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: but I just say keep f and he goes, we'll
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: talk later.
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: I know we won't, you know, but ended it. That
- 1:02:58Speaker 6: was it.
- 1:02:58Speaker 7: That's another great moment from.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: Yeah, that's up to the Burlington Mall. You're ready, You're ready,
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: the Forest Cafe while I was in the parking lot.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: Small cool. All right back here eight five to five
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Pats five hundred is the hot line. But before we
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: get to that deuce, that's right, Pilot stuff, It's time.
- 1:03:20Speaker 8: For the co pilot stuff, also known as the Question
- 1:03:22Speaker 8: of the Week, presented by Microsoft Copilot, where every day
- 1:03:25Speaker 8: is game day and where every decision is powered by
- 1:03:27Speaker 8: insight innovation. Microsoft technology helps to make decisions faster, insight sharper,
- 1:03:31Speaker 8: and strategy is more adaptive. All right, guys, you know
- 1:03:34Speaker 8: the Patriots are on a ten game win streak right now,
- 1:03:37Speaker 8: and the question this week is to stack up in
- 1:03:40Speaker 8: team history other extended Patriot win streaks.
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: Okay, well, here's the question before I answer. Are we
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: talking about wind streaks over both spans of seasons or
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: within a season.
- 1:03:51Speaker 8: Let's begin with over seasons, because that's they're not quite
- 1:03:54Speaker 8: there yet, but over the twenty one twenty one is
- 1:03:57Speaker 8: the top. That's right, that's right, that's the one from
- 1:04:01Speaker 8: December two thousand and six all the way through uh nine,
- 1:04:04Speaker 8: two thousand and eight that was included the two thousand
- 1:04:07Speaker 8: and seven sixteen O season also had an eighteen game
- 1:04:09Speaker 8: regular season win streak from three to four into that season,
- 1:04:14Speaker 8: and then there were uh five times they've gone on
- 1:04:16Speaker 8: ten game win streaks when you connect the two seasons.
- 1:04:20Speaker 6: But just for single season.
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: They had to be super Bowl seasons right from six
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: to seven, O six to eight. So they want to
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: they have regular not talking playoffs, not concerned yourself, big game.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Regular because he's just talking regular season.
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: I mean they lost in the six playoffs and the
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: seven right now, we're just we're just talking regular seasons.
- 1:04:44Speaker 8: So when you extend over two seasons, regular season, but
- 1:04:47Speaker 8: that's not no, but just for a single season, no.
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: No, no, this is tied for third, tied for third.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: Fringer wagon.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: No, it doesn't. I don't even want to talk about
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: regular season that that goes into the other season. It's
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: a I love this whole thing.
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: And then you got to win the Super Bowl, right right,
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: you lost the game?
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:05:05Speaker 6: What about just within a single season?
- 1:05:07Speaker 8: How about that within a single regular season of course
- 1:05:09Speaker 8: two thousand and seven, sixteen, sixteen, and oh twelve in
- 1:05:14Speaker 8: a row in two thousand and three. Yes, and there's
- 1:05:16Speaker 8: one other time they've won ten in a row. Boom
- 1:05:19Speaker 8: y are nailed it. Yeah, so tied for third longest
- 1:05:22Speaker 8: regular season win streak. Here is you're watching online, you
- 1:05:25Speaker 8: can see.
- 1:05:25Speaker 6: Cop pilots spit it out at you. But impressive, I
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: mean carving out their little spot in the.
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: Twenty fifteen team was so good if they they just
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: got hurt at the end of the year.
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: Yeah, right, they lost on Lewis Bill lost his mind too.
- 1:05:38Speaker 7: That that was part of it.
- 1:05:39Speaker 6: Oh, the Harber's muff game.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: So the funny thing about the co Pilot don't make
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: me do the greatest hits is that every time we
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: do this on Thursday, du says, don't forget when we
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: come out of the break, I'm gonna be doing the
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: co pilot and like, yeah, dude, you just take it,
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: and without fail, every time we come out of the break,
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: I forget, you know, I like giving you your space,
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: I like do this this time. He's like Saul while
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: I was doing it too.
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: Because he was looking at you.
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: Now it's everyone's favor segment I say, I was really
- 1:06:11Speaker 8: bummed out everything that Paul wasn't here last week, because
- 1:06:14Speaker 8: it was really one directed towards the nineteen ninety six season,
- 1:06:17Speaker 8: which was when the Patriots played the Giants on a
- 1:06:19Speaker 8: Saturday and it was a big game, and I was
- 1:06:21Speaker 8: like quizzing.
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: Paul's like, I was upset you weren't there. Paul I
- 1:06:23Speaker 6: kind of came up.
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: With this twenties.
- 1:06:25Speaker 8: He's ripping them off, and then I'm like, there's one
- 1:06:27Speaker 8: more and then he's like and I'm like eh, and
- 1:06:29Speaker 8: then all of a sudden, You're like, oh, I was there.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: I was uh Spiin Fresner writes, said, Fred does indeed
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: bring a sharp editorial eye when selecting much emails to read.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: He's filtered out most of my awful ones over the years,
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: thankfully concealing the true depths of my idiocy. Combined that
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: with Fred's refined taste for forty percent fat burger meat,
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: and we can easily grasp how the Kingmaker has a
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: sentence was thrown anyway into the thrown anyway, Yeah you
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: know what I mean? Yeah, anyway to weigh in on
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: the saft scheduling thing, I get that evanence tired of
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: the way some people have brought it up. But I
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: think I agree with Paul that we'll have to wait
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: and see if the cupcakeness of it all actually tells
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: us something meaningful. For example, if the Patriots flame out
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: in the postseason and struggle next year against different competition,
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: how couldn't one refer back to the soft schedule as
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: a central reason for the twenty twenty five looks. Whether
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Sincy Homer Evan likes it or not, there are multiple
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: ways it could end up a meaningful part of the story. Well,
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: what happens if next year the Patriots don't do as well,
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: but Kansas City's back, and Buffalo although the windows closed,
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: but the Ravens are back.
- 1:07:39Speaker 7: That was well done right there, That was good.
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: I mean those could be factors too, But like you
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: also have to see how it looks this year in
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: the playoffs, like if they play I'm just gonna use
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: the Bills. If they play Josh Allen and the Bills
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: and they lose forty five forty and like a classic
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: like are you gonna sit there and say, well, frauds?
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: Nope, you're right, you know, So.
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: Like I think that it all of if it matters
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: in terms of the context of it.
- 1:08:02Speaker 7: And I say, Mike, and I say this all the time,
- 1:08:04Speaker 7: that was on March for the whole offseason, Like I
- 1:08:06Speaker 7: need to see it. I need to see how it
- 1:08:07Speaker 7: looks and the thing that you just the scenario you
- 1:08:10Speaker 7: just uh painted. Absolutely, I would not say, well, they
- 1:08:13Speaker 7: proved they didn't belong, Like you can be one and
- 1:08:16Speaker 7: out and still not prove that you didn't belong. Or conversely,
- 1:08:21Speaker 7: I'm not going to say you could win it all
- 1:08:23Speaker 7: and still be a fraud, because you win it all,
- 1:08:25Speaker 7: you win it all, but you can you know, sort
- 1:08:29Speaker 7: of slip by Jacksonville or something like that and maybe
- 1:08:32Speaker 7: losing the AFC Championship game, Yeah, and maybe not have
- 1:08:35Speaker 7: proved anything either, Like you need to see how it
- 1:08:38Speaker 7: all unfolds.
- 1:08:38Speaker 8: How do you feel if you look at it through
- 1:08:40Speaker 8: the lens of last year's team, Because those last year
- 1:08:43Speaker 8: two Patriots teams were one of those easy schedule teams.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: Right, and they really were Like I think.
- 1:08:48Speaker 8: About those teams and I'm like, man, this opponent is
- 1:08:51Speaker 8: really gonna have to screw it up to lose to
- 1:08:53Speaker 8: this team, Like you're gonna have to turn it over
- 1:08:54Speaker 8: a few times so, you know, I do think from
- 1:08:56Speaker 8: that perspective, like as a fan and someone who's covering
- 1:09:00Speaker 8: a team like that, that you know there is some
- 1:09:02Speaker 8: element of truth of there are certain teams, and I
- 1:09:04Speaker 8: don't think it's all of them, but there are a
- 1:09:06Speaker 8: handful of teams at the bottom that you know that
- 1:09:09Speaker 8: it's going to take a miracle for them to win
- 1:09:11Speaker 8: a football game.
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: I hear what everybody's saying, I just to win ten
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: in a row.
- 1:09:16Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: Yeah, it's one thing that if they if they were
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: I don't know, eight and four, right, or you know,
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: seven and five, and they're having this nice season, but
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: all their wins were against the crap teams, and five
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: they lost to some craft teams to straight games in
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: the NFL, Like you don't just do that by acts.
- 1:09:34Speaker 7: They took all the crap games and they won them
- 1:09:36Speaker 7: all but one. Really, yeah, you know they lost their Raiders. Yeah,
- 1:09:40Speaker 7: you know, so I agree with Evan. I think that
- 1:09:42Speaker 7: they've shown you that they're a good team. Yeah, I
- 1:09:44Speaker 7: mean how good I don't know because of that factor,
- 1:09:47Speaker 7: but they've shown me they're a good team.
- 1:09:49Speaker 8: I mean, especially when I just I chuckle when I
- 1:09:51Speaker 8: think of the first thing Mike Rabel said about can
- 1:09:54Speaker 8: we take advantage of bad football?
- 1:09:56Speaker 6: Like that was the initial bar he set on day one,
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: and I'm like, yeah, you've definitely done that.
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: The other part, if you're not good, you can't do that.
- 1:10:05Speaker 7: And the other part of it that tells me they're
- 1:10:07Speaker 7: good is it's not like even in one it was
- 1:10:13Speaker 7: one week after another, that's something crazy was happening.
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: Haven't been any of those.
- 1:10:19Speaker 7: They haven't. They generally get the lead in the game
- 1:10:22Speaker 7: and in the second half they're never behind, which means
- 1:10:25Speaker 7: you're good. You're playing against bad teams and you're making
- 1:10:27Speaker 7: them chase you, and they're not good enough to beat
- 1:10:29Speaker 7: you because you're good and you're you're dictating the way
- 1:10:33Speaker 7: the game is played. You're not relying on David Patton
- 1:10:36Speaker 7: getting knocked unconscious while out of bounce and having the
- 1:10:38Speaker 7: ball touch his foot like that. Those are the kinds
- 1:10:41Speaker 7: of things that okay, And I'm not saying that the
- 1:10:43Speaker 7: one team stuck. Don't don't misunderstand it, but like it
- 1:10:46Speaker 7: was some events, there was some flukiness to that eleven
- 1:10:49Speaker 7: and five run, and it showed the next year when
- 1:10:51Speaker 7: they didn't make the playoffs. Yeah, but this this, I
- 1:10:55Speaker 7: don't think there's a lot of flukey wins in here.
- 1:10:57Speaker 7: There are games that could have been lost that they
- 1:10:59Speaker 7: won by I don't like. Maybe you want to say,
- 1:11:03Speaker 7: if the Miami guy, if Achan doesn't step out of bounds,
- 1:11:06Speaker 7: maybe that game ends differently. But do you have any
- 1:11:09Speaker 7: more examples of that.
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: And there was still like, what five six minutes left
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: in the game.
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: It was it was a minute left, was there?
- 1:11:15Speaker 7: Yeah, Which now you can make the argument that May
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: would have gone down and scored, they could have won.
- 1:11:20Speaker 7: And based on what I've seen for the last thirteen weeks,
- 1:11:23Speaker 7: I'm I'm not gonna argue with you because May it's
- 1:11:25Speaker 7: been good.
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: That was that kind of was a fluky game that
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: was there.
- 1:11:29Speaker 7: You could say it was a little flukiness to that game,
- 1:11:31Speaker 7: But I don't think there was any real flukiness to
- 1:11:35Speaker 7: you know, these other wins.
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean Gibson returning a kickoff for a touchdown
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: that was like for the longest time, that was the
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: only kickoff return touchdown in the league for like the
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: first like ten weeks of the season, and that was
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: ended up being the game winner in that game.
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: But and in fairness, it followed a party turn touchdown
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: from Miami.
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: Yeah, but I just you don't win ten games in
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: a row in this league by accident.
- 1:11:57Speaker 10: It's like you can talk about luck all you want,
- 1:11:59Speaker 10: but it's like old saying you have to be prepared
- 1:12:01Speaker 10: to take advantage of the luck.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: That's in a sense what they're doing.
- 1:12:05Speaker 10: Like they've gotten a lot of breaks and they've still
- 1:12:08Speaker 10: taken advantage of every single one.
- 1:12:10Speaker 8: And Drake May's playing like an MVP candidate, you know,
- 1:12:12Speaker 8: Like that's the one thing that like, you know, if
- 1:12:14Speaker 8: you had a quarterback who I am consistent too, like
- 1:12:19Speaker 8: I think Denver is.
- 1:12:20Speaker 7: You know, there are a win over the Raiders away
- 1:12:22Speaker 7: from winning ten in a row. And I don't think
- 1:12:24Speaker 7: they're that great either. I think they're good, just like
- 1:12:26Speaker 7: I think the Patriots are good, but I don't think they're.
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: A great team.
- 1:12:29Speaker 6: I need to dive into them a little more. I
- 1:12:30Speaker 6: know they've been all like comebacks too, right, Like they
- 1:12:32Speaker 6: have nine they've had more.
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: I think they've trailed in like twelve games.
- 1:12:37Speaker 7: Yea, they've had more one score games in the Patriots. Well,
- 1:12:41Speaker 7: in the win streak, they've had more one score games
- 1:12:44Speaker 7: than the Patriots, and even the one scores like the
- 1:12:46Speaker 7: Patriots one score games are like you win by five
- 1:12:49Speaker 7: or six and the Broncos have won by like one,
- 1:12:52Speaker 7: like literally.
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: Like crazy comeback one Jacob and Milwaukee apologies in advance
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: for the grammar. This is about the Denver thing. Some
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: interesting info about altitude longtime listeners since twenty fourteen first
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: time in miles. When you guys discuss altitude and adjusting
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: to Denver's altitude, it takes approximately two weeks for the
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: body to adjust. The downside is, technically speaking, you can
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: never train to reach your maximum intensity for performance like
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: you could at sea level due to the lack of oxygen.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: That being said, the theory is live high to gain
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: the adaptations of living at a higher altitude, and train
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: at sea level so you can reach your maximum training potential.
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: Completely impractical, but felt worth sharing. Listening to yesterday's episode
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: probably won't make the light of day, but appreciate the
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: show well. It did make the light at it.
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: You want to get high, you start on. You start
- 1:13:45Speaker 6: on the top of the mountain, You go down to
- 1:13:46Speaker 6: the mountain, bottom of the mountain.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: You train. You can never reach your maximum potential because
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: there's not enough.
- 1:13:51Speaker 6: Never thought of it that way. That was interesting.
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: So interesting live high? Is it interesting or important? People
- 1:13:59Speaker 4: that live in interesting?
- 1:14:01Speaker 7: Interesting?
- 1:14:02Speaker 6: That's why you live in the Western mass right the
- 1:14:04Speaker 6: mountains Trent.
- 1:14:07Speaker 7: Trent.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: And your time at ESPN was the best two years
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: of your life. Why didn't you go back?
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: Incorrect? Wow, didn't work at ESPN. So if you're gonna
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: come at me, at least get your facts straight correct.
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: NFL Network, thank you very much.
- 1:14:27Speaker 6: Culver City. Do you ever go to the conservatory in
- 1:14:29Speaker 6: Culver City for coffee?
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: Probably it doesn't sound too for it's pretty good.
- 1:14:34Speaker 7: You were in the coffee place in California, Andy Cavative.
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: I don't know what that is.
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: There is this pizza place though, you know l A
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: very famous for not having great pizza. But this one
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: guy from in Culver City, he had moved from Brooklyn
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: to l A. And he brought his pizza recipe with
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: him from New.
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: York videos and what was it called Brooklyn Pizza?
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: No, no, no, it was like a namely pizza. But
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: it was very good.
- 1:15:05Speaker 6: Inside little Culver City in the sports filling station.
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, inside there that was a great place.
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: There's also a great Greek place right down the street.
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: From the NFL Network studios that we'd used to go
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: to and get euros.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: Uh. That was called the Greek place, Yes it was.
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: It was actually called like Micronos or something like that.
- 1:15:26Speaker 6: I know, exact, very good, that good walking there all
- 1:15:30Speaker 6: the time.
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: All right, Chipotle if we want.
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: To, all right back five hundred. Uh, Chad is in
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: la what's up, Chad.
- 1:15:40Speaker 6: Big Chad day?
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: Did you know?
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: Chad?
- 1:15:42Speaker 6: No, not this one, big chat?
- 1:15:44Speaker 22: Yeah, there are no good pizzas in l A.
- 1:15:47Speaker 13: Unfortunately.
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: Loroccos. Go to Loroccos and Culver City.
- 1:15:51Speaker 7: That's a Brooklyn pizza place. Locos sounds skeptical.
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: Every time four and a half stars on Google a picture.
- 1:16:02Speaker 22: I wanted to ask about the play calling, in particular
- 1:16:05Speaker 22: in Cash twenty two. Evan, you mentioned that there you
- 1:16:10Speaker 22: think that they're kind of holding out on Drake running
- 1:16:13Speaker 22: the ball a little bit. Is that accurate?
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: Yes, that's what I think. Don't know, that's what I say.
- 1:16:19Speaker 17: Okay.
- 1:16:20Speaker 22: So they have obviously access to Brady's entire playbook from
- 1:16:28Speaker 22: his career.
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:16:32Speaker 22: So obviously that wouldn't necessarily be the kind of play
- 1:16:36Speaker 22: that they would call for Brady. So they're they're developing
- 1:16:39Speaker 22: obviously plays that are specific to Drake. But my question
- 1:16:44Speaker 22: would be is what kind of plays have you seen
- 1:16:49Speaker 22: Brady perform that Drake hasn't necessarily performed yet.
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: It's nuts you think it's in his wheelhouse. Okay, that's
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: it's an eviand question, but I haven't answered.
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: You can answer it. If Brady Brady plays that Drake
- 1:17:05Speaker 4: hasn't necessarily done yet, I wouldn't say very many. I mean, honestly,
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: they it's pretty similar to what they're running with Drake now.
- 1:17:17Speaker 4: I mean they ran they hit Stefan Diggs on the
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: juke route and host Duke last week for like thirteen
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: yards and it's pretty cool actually to like see Drake
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: kind of pressing the same buttons and pulling the same
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: levers and it looks similar.
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: There's nothing out of a physical standpoint that Brady did
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: that Drake hasn't done. What Drake hasn't done that Brady
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: did all the time. It's the situations, and we just
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: haven't had seen the situations yet, so we don't know
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: from But there's no throw that Brady made that Drake
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: can't make, and Drake has more mobility, you know, It's
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: it's amazing like, so you want to stop there because
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: Brady is the greatest ever? But will he always be?
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: Is there a chance that someone someday? Of course right now,
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: but the odds of that it being so soon and
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: we have the guy, it's like it would truly be
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: lightning striking twice. But is it out of the roma possibility? No,
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: it's not right, but he has to get to those situations.
- 1:18:23Speaker 22: Yeah, I think there's a good chance of it happening
- 1:18:26Speaker 22: to get in here because we have the history, we
- 1:18:28Speaker 22: have the record, we have all the data, but also
- 1:18:32Speaker 22: really quick that so I'm leading to one particular question,
- 1:18:35Speaker 22: why aren't we doing the hurry up offense more?
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: We don't need to?
- 1:18:39Speaker 4: Uh yeah, yeah, they so they do it a little bit,
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: but most of it is more what you call like
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: muddle huddles where like you kind of like you huddle,
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: but it's not like a super fast it's a super
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: fast huddle. It's not an extended huddle where he's you know,
- 1:18:56Speaker 4: it's they're saying all the verbs.
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: Hurry up is different than like what you're talking about,
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: Like there's one that you're racing against the clock, Like no,
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: there's another one where no huddle where you're just trying
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: to eliminate the other team from being able to substitute
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: and all that. This difference.
- 1:19:10Speaker 5: I kind of agree with you.
- 1:19:11Speaker 7: I don't think that they've needed it because they've been
- 1:19:13Speaker 7: in control of almost every game in the second half. Yeah,
- 1:19:16Speaker 7: you know, they used it a great two minute drill
- 1:19:20Speaker 7: at the end of the first half this past game
- 1:19:22Speaker 7: Monday night, they went right down the field. I mean,
- 1:19:24Speaker 7: they got a big chunk play like forty yards to
- 1:19:26Speaker 7: reminder Stevenson, but that's you know, yeah, I would huddle,
- 1:19:30Speaker 7: hurry up.
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: I'm really fascinated about that sequence you're talking about because
- 1:19:38Speaker 4: it kind of looked like Drake was calling the plays,
- 1:19:40Speaker 4: and because they were going right to the line of
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: scrimmage and he checked in and out of a couple
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: of different things. And they have this thing called the
- 1:19:48Speaker 4: NASCAR package where it's one word association to play calls.
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: So all he has to do is get to the
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: line of scrimmage and yell a name. Usually they're named
- 1:19:57Speaker 4: after like famous basketball players or cities or like something
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: like that. So I'll just go Jordan, Jordan, Jordan, and
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: then everybody knows what play they're running, just based off
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: that one word, and so I that was that's how
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: their no huddle packages always worked under McDaniels. But a
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: lot of that is what he's seeing at the line
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: of scrimmage and he's kind of running the show. And
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: I think that's been the most impressive part to me
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: about Drake is that he's already doing that in his
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: second season in the NFL. Like you're seeing him solve
- 1:20:29Speaker 4: problems with pressure and you know, check in and out
- 1:20:32Speaker 4: of plays and sometimes they have two plays called in
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: the huddle where you know it's either pass pass or
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: run pass or whatever. And he's checking in and out
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: of things based off of what you know he's seeing
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: from the defense. And to do that already at twenty
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: three years old and do it at a really high
- 1:20:47Speaker 4: level is not normal. Yeah, So that's been really impressive.
- 1:20:52Speaker 8: I like to what Fred said, It just it feels
- 1:20:53Speaker 8: like the intangibles are the things that you know, separated
- 1:20:55Speaker 8: Brady and he just you know, and that's something I
- 1:20:59Speaker 8: don't think Drake has, like you said, had an opportunity
- 1:21:01Speaker 8: to and it's you know, I kept talking to Drake Killer,
- 1:21:04Speaker 8: you know, these are the things you're probably gonna find
- 1:21:05Speaker 8: out here in the playoffs of you know, team goes
- 1:21:08Speaker 8: down and scores and takes the lead with one forty
- 1:21:10Speaker 8: three left in the game, and Drake's gonna get a possession, Kenny,
- 1:21:13Speaker 8: you know, is it time to shine like it was Brady?
- 1:21:16Speaker 8: And that's I mean, how many times did Brady do
- 1:21:18Speaker 8: that to win championships? And that's you know, I think
- 1:21:21Speaker 8: that's if there's ever gonna be another great one like that.
- 1:21:24Speaker 8: I mean, there's no comparison physically, but when you but
- 1:21:26Speaker 8: when you talk about intangibles, there's no comparison either with with.
- 1:21:29Speaker 4: What and maniacally competitive twelve months out of the year. Yeah,
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: you know, and I'm not saying he doesn't, But like,
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: is Drake in a in the off season? Is he
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: going to be in Montana, like working out two days
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: a week?
- 1:21:40Speaker 8: Yeah, right, He's gonna wake up the day after he
- 1:21:42Speaker 8: wins the Super Bowl and like time to start training
- 1:21:44Speaker 8: again because.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: And lifestyle stuff.
- 1:21:47Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, that's anything.
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: Yeah, But in terms of physical outside of the numbers
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: down the scene, yeah right, there's nothing you could say short.
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: He's just as good as any quarterback.
- 1:21:57Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 1:21:58Speaker 8: That's what's cool about sports. There's one guy who has
- 1:22:00Speaker 8: all the physical tools and the guy who maybe doesn't
- 1:22:02Speaker 8: quite I mean trade. He still has amazing physical RULs.
- 1:22:04Speaker 8: But you know, in the grand scheme of NFL quarterbacks,
- 1:22:07Speaker 8: he's maybe not the most mobile guy, maybe not the
- 1:22:09Speaker 8: biggest arm but when you put the package together.
- 1:22:11Speaker 6: And when it's on the line, there's no one else
- 1:22:13Speaker 6: you'd rather have.
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: No justin subject line nonsense from armchair gms. I'm really
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: glad none of these armchair gms are running the Patriots
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: front office. We have an excellent number one corner who
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: can shut down one side of the field, but people
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: like the caller want to trade him because getting a
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: receiver is more important. It's ridiculous the amount of people
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: online who also say to trade Gonzo because of his
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: previous injuries. A few people ran the Patriots front office.
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: You to ship out Gronk the minute his injuries became
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: an issue. Wow, you're here.
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: I was going to say, Bill did try to trade Gronk?
- 1:22:48Speaker 6: So yeah, I digress.
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: I get it.
- 1:22:52Speaker 8: It's everybody loves the wide receivers, you know. And I
- 1:22:56Speaker 8: think even if you had justin Jefferson or you still
- 1:22:59Speaker 8: probably won't one.
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: I definitely think that they we all kind of I
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: think feel like next offseason, you hope that they add
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: another piece, but that just to keep it rolling, don't improve.
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, I think they.
- 1:23:13Speaker 6: I mean I said it yesterday. I think they got to.
- 1:23:15Speaker 7: They have to.
- 1:23:15Speaker 6: They have to get better this offseason.
- 1:23:17Speaker 8: You have to come into the game into next year
- 1:23:19Speaker 8: feeling like you felt after they won the Super Bowl
- 1:23:21Speaker 8: and all three and they went and got Corey Dillon
- 1:23:22Speaker 8: and maybe some people that that seems overkill you just
- 1:23:25Speaker 8: want to But I think that's the kind of step.
- 1:23:27Speaker 6: That they need to, you know, continue to take and
- 1:23:29Speaker 6: you know, maybe even.
- 1:23:30Speaker 8: Just identifying players that we don't even realize that we
- 1:23:33Speaker 8: want to try to upgrade this this player. You know,
- 1:23:35Speaker 8: they'll have opportunity with some of the few open spots
- 1:23:38Speaker 8: on their roster that they're going to have to address.
- 1:23:41Speaker 8: But I still think they need at least one or
- 1:23:42Speaker 8: two splash guys that really make you think, give you
- 1:23:45Speaker 8: reason to believe they're going to be better.
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: I have one for you. Give me Isaiah Likely, Yes,
- 1:23:51Speaker 4: because I think Mike brought him up to me like
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: two weeks ago. Well, Baltimore just extended Mark Andrews again yesterday.
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: Likely is going to be an unrestricted free agent. I
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: love Austin Hooper, but you know, if you get Isaiah
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: likely much younger player, much more dynamic tight end from Everett.
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: From Everett pass the torch. You know, he's not a
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: blocker like that's you know, he's not really He's more
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: of like a big slot receiver. But Drake loves throwing
- 1:24:19Speaker 4: to the tight ends. He loves throwing a big targets.
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I would like it.
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: That's a solid one. That could be a great move.
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: Okay, Patty's an what's up, Patty?
- 1:24:28Speaker 7: Patty?
- 1:24:30Speaker 23: Hey guys, and get what's going on right?
- 1:24:32Speaker 6: Rocking and rolling?
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: Okay?
- 1:24:35Speaker 16: Yeah?
- 1:24:35Speaker 23: Man, So it's my annual phone called the Bitch about
- 1:24:39Speaker 23: Rodney Harrison not being in the Hall of Fame just yet?
- 1:24:43Speaker 16: What about two guys?
- 1:24:44Speaker 23: But I feel like if he doesn't get in this year,
- 1:24:46Speaker 23: he's gonna have to wait till his filly's eligible for
- 1:24:49Speaker 23: the Senior Committee to be voted on. And to me,
- 1:24:53Speaker 23: that's Paul, I'm with you, like I know you love Rodney.
- 1:24:56Speaker 23: Rodney is my second favorite Patriot of all time, behind
- 1:24:59Speaker 23: Tom and just my opinion. But the area played and
- 1:25:04Speaker 23: there was Ed Reed, and there was Doc and Palamalu
- 1:25:08Speaker 23: and Harrison frank them however you want.
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: Okay, Well, Bill Balichick would agree with you. Thanks, Patty. Uh,
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: Let's go to Mark and Vermont. Mark, Mark and Vermont.
- 1:25:23Speaker 6: Oh Hi Mark, Mark, We're going tomorrow.
- 1:25:25Speaker 7: Sorry Mark?
- 1:25:26Speaker 6: Yeah, man, I wass gonna have some racks, you know, donuts?
- 1:25:31Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: Uh always is in Texas.
- 1:25:35Speaker 7: What's up?
- 1:25:35Speaker 3: Ois? Hey? What's going on? Guys?
- 1:25:38Speaker 10: Hey?
- 1:25:39Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:25:40Speaker 24: So I've been trying to you know, I've been I've
- 1:25:44Speaker 24: been drawing some parallels with the Golden State Warriors when
- 1:25:50Speaker 24: they had Mark Jackson and then you know, they they
- 1:25:55Speaker 24: got you know, Steve Kerr, and then it was like
- 1:25:58Speaker 24: almost like a flip that was just so you know,
- 1:26:00Speaker 24: and Kerr, you know, his experience with the goat and
- 1:26:04Speaker 24: kind of how we got rapes and he's played with
- 1:26:07Speaker 24: our goat. You know, I feel like I have a
- 1:26:11Speaker 24: very good feeling that, you know, we might end up
- 1:26:13Speaker 24: making a deep run. And for whatever reason, if he
- 1:26:17Speaker 24: if he don't get the job done, who do you
- 1:26:19Speaker 24: think could be a Karen Durant that would want to
- 1:26:23Speaker 24: join our Patriots in NFL terms that will give us
- 1:26:27Speaker 24: like a shoe win or Super Bowl almost every every year.
- 1:26:30Speaker 4: Follow well, Mark Jackson was the Warriors with Mark Jackson
- 1:26:35Speaker 4: were much better than the Patriots were pre Frable, the
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: Larwyors and Mark Jackson. I want to say they went
- 1:26:40Speaker 4: to Game seven against the Thunder with Durant and Westbrook.
- 1:26:43Speaker 6: I don't know anything.
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: And then they also won a title without Durant too.
- 1:26:49Speaker 5: They won multiple times.
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: In terms of the timeline, but with.
- 1:26:54Speaker 5: Kerr Yeah, I don't I'm with you. I'm not sure.
- 1:26:58Speaker 4: I can't remember, but they they Mark Jackson took the
- 1:27:02Speaker 4: Warriors a lot further than like Gerrodmeo took the page
- 1:27:05Speaker 4: and there was a lot.
- 1:27:06Speaker 7: Yeah, And his point was that they had before, you know,
- 1:27:09Speaker 7: a subpart coach and then a coach that obviously got
- 1:27:12Speaker 7: them over the top.
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: That is that that parallel, I think is is accurate.
- 1:27:16Speaker 7: But the Warriors were much better, much better than the
- 1:27:20Speaker 7: Patriots were that pretty well inherited. There's a reason why
- 1:27:23Speaker 7: he turned the like is it fifty percent? I mean,
- 1:27:25Speaker 7: I don't know what the number is, but the roster
- 1:27:27Speaker 7: turnover is like way higher than the average percentage, right,
- 1:27:33Speaker 7: I mean, I don't know what what the numbers are,
- 1:27:35Speaker 7: and you might have them like off the top of
- 1:27:36Speaker 7: your head, But is it like thirty thirty three, thirty
- 1:27:40Speaker 7: five percent, you know, typical, and the Patriots had to
- 1:27:42Speaker 7: be like fifty yeah turnover.
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: They're they're they were like around in the like the
- 1:27:49Speaker 4: forty to forty five percent when they made the roster
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: and at a camp. Now that it's changed a million times,
- 1:27:55Speaker 4: it's probably even more so. But I don't know if
- 1:27:58Speaker 4: you really want to count that because it's all the
- 1:28:00Speaker 4: in season.
- 1:28:00Speaker 7: No, no, I'm transaction.
- 1:28:02Speaker 5: I would be talking about what they opened the.
- 1:28:07Speaker 7: Yeah and there, and there are still a number of guys,
- 1:28:09Speaker 7: you know, you obviously Drake May was here, so you
- 1:28:13Speaker 7: know that that would count.
- 1:28:14Speaker 5: But we were talking about this this morning.
- 1:28:16Speaker 7: There's there's a handful of guys that we're here that
- 1:28:19Speaker 7: are significant contributors, like I mean in addition to May,
- 1:28:24Speaker 7: but like Christian Barmo, Christian Gonzales, Martis Jones, you know Hunter,
- 1:28:28Speaker 7: Henry Michael Wenthu would be another one, you know, Remandre.
- 1:28:32Speaker 7: I mean, they have guys that have contributed. So it's
- 1:28:34Speaker 7: not like this is all new guys in Rabel's just
- 1:28:37Speaker 7: magic doing it all. But this is this is about
- 1:28:39Speaker 7: Drake May's ascension and the new coaches culture.
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: We were talking about best rookie seasons for Patriots Tennis
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: San Diego says Robert Edwards eleven hundred yards and ninety eight.
- 1:28:52Speaker 5: Nothing compared to it was a soft e correct, yeah, correct.
- 1:28:56Speaker 4: Don't play beach football.
- 1:28:59Speaker 7: Yeah, now what he what he might have been? But yeah,
- 1:29:02Speaker 7: I agree he that was a really good team that
- 1:29:04Speaker 7: he you know, it was a past first team that
- 1:29:07Speaker 7: he took advantage of a lot of.
- 1:29:08Speaker 6: Did Aaron Hernandez sniff of that at all in twenty ten?
- 1:29:11Speaker 6: I mean he was better than Gronk. I don't know
- 1:29:12Speaker 6: if he was that good.
- 1:29:13Speaker 7: I mean I always thought Gronk was better even that year.
- 1:29:17Speaker 7: But yeah, sure they had if they both had good
- 1:29:19Speaker 7: rookie years. But I would like Curtis Martin was like,
- 1:29:23Speaker 7: you know, really good as I think he had fourteen
- 1:29:26Speaker 7: There was a fourteen hundred yards?
- 1:29:27Speaker 5: Maybe?
- 1:29:27Speaker 7: Am I over?
- 1:29:28Speaker 5: Am I over remembering that?
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: That might be?
- 1:29:30Speaker 6: I mean what about your Rob Mayo defensive Rookie of
- 1:29:32Speaker 6: the year.
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: They all think that was fake? No socks included.
- 1:29:38Speaker 5: Yeah, made a lot of tackles.
- 1:29:41Speaker 7: Tackle machine you know me about you know me and
- 1:29:43Speaker 7: tackle machines.
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: We don't like tackles around here. We don't know we like.
- 1:29:47Speaker 6: TFLs I in ts.
- 1:29:49Speaker 7: You have any Did he have any of those? Those?
- 1:29:51Speaker 5: Interesting to think?
- 1:29:53Speaker 4: Maybe I don't.
- 1:29:53Speaker 7: I'd have to check.
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: Let's see Stump the grump nice quick one U Kylon Pembroke.
- 1:30:00Speaker 3: Only four Patriots quarterbacks have had twenty five or more
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: passing touchdowns in a season, and make him be the fifth.
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: He gets two more. Brady did it fourteen times, Bled
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: so three, Grogan once? Who was the fourth? HEAs Nope, Sugar,
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: you only did it once.
- 1:30:21Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:30:24Speaker 7: I'm gonna say, just babe, to have fun, babe early,
- 1:30:28Speaker 7: just to have because I didn't think Castle threw for
- 1:30:31Speaker 7: more than twenty five that year.
- 1:30:33Speaker 11: Babe Prilly, Yeah, it's probably closed the babe, but I
- 1:30:37Speaker 11: was going to most people know that as the babe,
- 1:30:40Speaker 11: not you know, baby Perilly, bigger deal than the other babe.
- 1:30:46Speaker 7: Imagine if we were joining the show, then that's what
- 1:30:48Speaker 7: Fred would say. Yeah, what if Babe Perilli was our quarterback?
- 1:30:53Speaker 7: Now you'd be like, yeah, the babe, the ba twenty one,
- 1:30:56Speaker 7: Babe Castle twenty one.
- 1:30:57Speaker 6: Twenty one on eleven.
- 1:30:58Speaker 4: You're in for a little bit.
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: Right, Eddie frisky Eddie in La. I'm gonna be honest
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: and say, I'm actually scared to see the Texans in
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: the playoffs. That defense is the best in the league,
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: and if the offense could be more consistent, they can
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: be a much better team all around. Then they've shown
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: they scare me more than the Broncos, Chiefs, and Colts.
- 1:31:19Speaker 3: I feel every other AFC team would be a cakewalk.
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: What do you all think.
- 1:31:24Speaker 7: I think you're crazy if you think every team is
- 1:31:26Speaker 7: a cakewalker. But Daniel Hunter and I don't hate your
- 1:31:30Speaker 7: your Texans Broncos down.
- 1:31:32Speaker 4: I mean, if Miles Garrett wasn't in the league, like
- 1:31:34Speaker 4: Will Anderson is the best defensive player in football, Like
- 1:31:36Speaker 4: it just happens that he's on Earth with an alien
- 1:31:39Speaker 4: so it doesn't really count. But like he's Will Anderson
- 1:31:43Speaker 4: is a scary dude. That guy's unbelieving.
- 1:31:45Speaker 7: The Texans to me, would worry me a little more
- 1:31:47Speaker 7: than the Broncos. I need to see a little more.
- 1:31:50Speaker 7: But if if Stroud is like Stroud is so much
- 1:31:55Speaker 7: better than Bonnicks, if he's back and healthy and they
- 1:31:59Speaker 7: play the last month of the season, yeah you know
- 1:32:02Speaker 7: that's that.
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: That would be.
- 1:32:04Speaker 7: Now they played those two teams played and they played
- 1:32:06Speaker 7: an absolute rock fight the Broncos and the Texans that
- 1:32:11Speaker 7: that the Broncos ended up stealing late, I think, or
- 1:32:15Speaker 7: something like that.
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: I think what's keeping fans from being totally confident about
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: this offense going up against anybody is the fact that
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: a lot of these second halfs, they haven't scored a
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: lot of points, and we haven't seen that game where
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: they've had forty five points pure offensive points, you know,
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: no special teams defense mixed in, and we haven't seen
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: that yet. But like we were talking about earlier, they
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: haven't really needed it yet. You know, they haven't been
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: in a game where they had a score that many points,
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: but we haven't seen that. So I think that's what's
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: when they go against a Cup defense, it's going to
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: be you know.
- 1:32:49Speaker 7: I don't know if it's that as much as who
- 1:32:52Speaker 7: they've gone against. I think some people ducking, but.
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: They've pass defenses, but they haven't.
- 1:32:59Speaker 7: They haven't faced a lot of good defenses, and the
- 1:33:01Speaker 7: good defenses they do face are terrible teams.
- 1:33:05Speaker 5: So you don't have the pressure of scoring.
- 1:33:07Speaker 4: Yeah, that's fair, but I mean, I think to me,
- 1:33:09Speaker 4: at least, there's still maybe a little bit of trepidation
- 1:33:12Speaker 4: with the offensive line, and if they go up against
- 1:33:15Speaker 4: the pass rush like Houston's with these you know, monsters
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: on the edge. You know, is Will Campbell going to
- 1:33:21Speaker 4: be healthy to play in that game? Is it going
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: to be Vederian or right? Where is he going to
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: be at when he does come back? You know, I
- 1:33:29Speaker 4: I understand. You know, their their numbers are much better
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: as an offensive line than last year, but it's still average.
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: If Houston was undefeated, I'd be more worried. But other
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: teams have beat them.
- 1:33:42Speaker 7: Yeah, and largely because they started very slow. Yeah, they
- 1:33:47Speaker 7: did start starting the quarterback, you know. I mean in
- 1:33:51Speaker 7: Mills's defense, they managed to win the games that he played,
- 1:33:55Speaker 7: but their offense is very limited without Stroud. They want
- 1:33:58Speaker 7: they want on rock fights for the most part, with
- 1:34:02Speaker 7: the exception of that miracle comeback against Jacksonville that they
- 1:34:05Speaker 7: had like twenty nine points in the fourth quarter or something.
- 1:34:08Speaker 4: I'm all right, I just wonder, like if they like you,
- 1:34:11Speaker 4: Drake may has got to handle pressure as well as
- 1:34:13Speaker 4: he has all year. Like that that's been their their
- 1:34:16Speaker 4: answer to a lot of it.
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: So Hey, Darius slay Is hasn't reported to the Bills yet.
- 1:34:23Speaker 7: He contemplating with he thinks he doesn't want to play.
- 1:34:26Speaker 4: Yeah, he retired in the locker room at halftime.
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: Okay, all right, it's that time of the week, Davis. Yeah,
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: So Paul, what happened last week?
- 1:34:37Speaker 7: Let's see, it was Alex, Evan and Fred all ten
- 1:34:42Speaker 7: and six, Paul nine and seven, and Mike eight and eight.
- 1:34:46Speaker 4: You do the Superman maybe accidentally, not accidentally with the
- 1:34:52Speaker 4: spread trolling Kim Newton, No.
- 1:34:54Speaker 25: With the spread, Paul eleven four and one, wow, wow,
- 1:35:02Speaker 25: even ten five and one.
- 1:35:04Speaker 4: Coming back at job By.
- 1:35:05Speaker 5: You want to come back for Paul, Alex.
- 1:35:07Speaker 7: And Fred eight seven and one and and Mike four.
- 1:35:14Speaker 7: I gotta do the eleven in one.
- 1:35:16Speaker 6: I gotta start doing the George Costanzo at this point?
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: Are you're doing this on purpose?
- 1:35:19Speaker 4: Fred?
- 1:35:21Speaker 7: So here's the most updated standings. Fred maintains his slim
- 1:35:27Speaker 7: one game lead over Alex one thirty one sixty two
- 1:35:30Speaker 7: and one. Alex one thirty sixty three and one. Mike
- 1:35:34Speaker 7: won twenty three seventy and one, Paul won twenty one
- 1:35:38Speaker 7: seventy two and one. Evan won seventeen seventy six and one.
- 1:35:42Speaker 7: Tight with the spread dominance continues by Fred Kursch one
- 1:35:48Speaker 7: oh six, eighty six and two, Paul ninety eight, ninety
- 1:35:52Speaker 7: four and two, Evan ninety five, ninety seven and two,
- 1:35:58Speaker 7: Alex ninety three, ninety nine and two, and Mike eighty one,
- 1:36:05Speaker 7: twelve and two eighty.
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: That's why I don't bet thirty two for those who,
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: among other reasons eighty and.
- 1:36:16Speaker 7: One twelve it is hard easily keeping what's more impressive?
- 1:36:21Speaker 7: One o six and eighty six for Fred or eighty
- 1:36:25Speaker 7: and one twelve for Mike.
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: Get all into the spectrum here, you just fade.
- 1:36:29Speaker 7: Dus saved me? Yeah, all right, doesn't know what that means?
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: All right, trying to We gotta hurry. Let's get into
- 1:36:39Speaker 3: it starting tonight on Thursday Night, Prime Video the Dallas
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: Cowboys six five and one at Detroit seven and five.
- 1:36:50Speaker 7: I'll be watching Detroit by three. I will not be
- 1:36:53Speaker 7: why streaming, I don't do that.
- 1:36:55Speaker 4: Oh and then I'll come in right about the game
- 1:36:59Speaker 4: because I.
- 1:37:00Speaker 7: In Evan's right, Well, I won't. I don't know about tomorrow,
- 1:37:04Speaker 7: will Yeah, you're right, but I watched that little clip
- 1:37:08Speaker 7: that they put out.
- 1:37:08Speaker 5: It's like a ten to twelve minute clip.
- 1:37:10Speaker 4: Yeah, you see.
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: You have you have Amazon right Prime?
- 1:37:15Speaker 17: Oh?
- 1:37:15Speaker 7: I have Prime, so you have it spots.
- 1:37:18Speaker 4: I don't like not being able to change the channel.
- 1:37:21Speaker 6: God, I don't.
- 1:37:22Speaker 7: I say it's hard to do.
- 1:37:23Speaker 4: It's the channel change.
- 1:37:24Speaker 5: I want to change the channel.
- 1:37:25Speaker 3: You have an iPad.
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: I don't understand your generation with the channel changing.
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: I like to a lot of I watch.
- 1:37:31Speaker 5: I watch a lot of Skill.
- 1:37:32Speaker 4: He has a lot of programs, Alex.
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: I do stories.
- 1:37:36Speaker 7: To watch my stories.
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: With the best stress out.
- 1:37:41Speaker 7: I watch a lot of Islands. I watch a lot.
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: Do you watch a lot of.
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: Violand that's on the show. One of them should be football.
- 1:37:46Speaker 3: I don't.
- 1:37:46Speaker 5: I don't watch that.
- 1:37:47Speaker 7: You know, Love Island.
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: There's some reality shows that you get to that I
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: have raised my eyes.
- 1:37:53Speaker 4: I don't really watch it, Evans, I.
- 1:37:55Speaker 5: Don't really watch any reality shows, to be honest.
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: Football, all right, let's go the world's Greatest Stag Detroit.
- 1:38:01Speaker 6: Three is gonna Uh's wrong? Pick is going to be Dallas.
- 1:38:06Speaker 4: Oh well, now I'm not gonna take Dallas and I'm
- 1:38:08Speaker 4: taking I'm taking the plus three.
- 1:38:09Speaker 8: I'm going with the upset allons. I think I'm gonna
- 1:38:12Speaker 8: ras a game time decision. I think he's important piece,
- 1:38:14Speaker 8: so I'm gonna I'm gonna go with Dallas in the upset.
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna fade Dous and take Detroit. Both ways.
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: Well, I was gonna take Dallas, but now that took Dallas,
- 1:38:22Speaker 4: I'm nervous. I do want to take a small victory
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: lap about the de Lions offense without Ben Johnson, Uh
- 1:38:29Speaker 4: definitely has not been as good. I wonder why uh so,
- 1:38:34Speaker 4: but uh, Dallas' defense is also not great. But I
- 1:38:38Speaker 4: am gonna take Dallas in this game because I think
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: Dak Prescott is like low key been awesome. Is that
- 1:38:43Speaker 4: a great season?
- 1:38:44Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:38:44Speaker 4: It might be the third m VP candidate with Stafford
- 1:38:48Speaker 4: and Drake May if they keep winning. And he's been
- 1:38:51Speaker 4: really really good.
- 1:38:51Speaker 7: So I thinking Dallas has been good. They've been on
- 1:38:54Speaker 7: the on the rise, and Dak Prescott has been tremendous.
- 1:38:57Speaker 7: That had a great start to No one really cares
- 1:38:59Speaker 7: all season. He has been really really good. But here's
- 1:39:03Speaker 7: where I take Detroit. And the reason why I take
- 1:39:06Speaker 7: Detroit is because just when people start talking about Dallas like.
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: That every year, that's true, I think Detroit is a
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: little bit desperate. I'm gonna have them win, but I'm
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: gonna take the points. I think it's gonna be a
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: very close.
- 1:39:23Speaker 6: Game, one or two points.
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think it's gonna be close. But I'll
- 1:39:28Speaker 3: take the point.
- 1:39:29Speaker 7: That is a quasi playoff game, both teams fighting for
- 1:39:32Speaker 7: their lives.
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: Sunday at one on Fox Seattle where it's they're not
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: in Seattle, so it's not loud in Atlanta. Seattle's nine
- 1:39:40Speaker 3: to three. They're going to Atlanta at four and eight.
- 1:39:43Speaker 7: Seattle by seven seven.
- 1:39:47Speaker 8: Still Kirk Cousins obviously, Yeah, I'm gonna take Seattle to win.
- 1:39:53Speaker 6: But I'm gonna say the Falcons are a little feisty
- 1:39:55Speaker 6: at home. I'll take the seven points.
- 1:39:56Speaker 4: Ten am bodyclock game.
- 1:39:58Speaker 3: Yeah, they love it.
- 1:39:59Speaker 6: They're more people as the Seahawks team.
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: How many points seven seven?
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: I'll take Seattle away the points.
- 1:40:07Speaker 4: Can it take Seattle both ways? That might have been
- 1:40:11Speaker 4: the best defensive performance in the history of the NFL
- 1:40:16Speaker 4: last week against Max Bros.
- 1:40:18Speaker 7: Was it really wasn't really talk about a guy who
- 1:40:22Speaker 7: didn't be no disrespect the guys an NFL player, but
- 1:40:24Speaker 7: talk about a guy who didn't belong in an NFL game.
- 1:40:26Speaker 4: Well, I just mean statistically, I don't mean it was.
- 1:40:29Speaker 7: It was ridiculous. I think one of the guys on
- 1:40:32Speaker 7: the I'm going to take Seattle both ways too. One
- 1:40:34Speaker 7: of the guys on on one of the recaps was
- 1:40:36Speaker 7: saying that they could still be playing in Minnesota, still
- 1:40:40Speaker 7: would have zero.
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: Sunday at one Battle for the AFC North on CBS,
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: Pittsburgh is six and six, so is Baltimore, and it's
- 1:40:51Speaker 3: in Baltimore.
- 1:40:52Speaker 5: Ravens by six.
- 1:40:53Speaker 4: Lamar Jackson not practicing today. Oh man, he's got an ankle.
- 1:40:58Speaker 6: Injury and me this right. It's been lingering.
- 1:41:01Speaker 7: He's got multiple injuries and you know they didn't Yeah,
- 1:41:05Speaker 7: they've had a mini buy and he's still not practicing.
- 1:41:07Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll take I'll take Baltimore to win.
- 1:41:08Speaker 8: I'll take the points for Pittsburgh though, close division game
- 1:41:11Speaker 8: with quarterback banged up.
- 1:41:14Speaker 7: Sorry, I love it.
- 1:41:15Speaker 6: I mean everybody's.
- 1:41:17Speaker 4: It's making me nervous.
- 1:41:19Speaker 3: I love that.
- 1:41:20Speaker 7: I go first to I sent the stage staff he's
- 1:41:24Speaker 7: eighty and one twelve.
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: I'm going to take Baltimore.
- 1:41:28Speaker 10: I'll lay the points to fade Mike and just I
- 1:41:31Speaker 10: think again, Baltimore's dead.
- 1:41:33Speaker 6: I'm providing a service here for the crew.
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but watch it go terribly for us this time.
- 1:41:37Speaker 6: I just clean up.
- 1:41:39Speaker 8: It is true though my record is better than Fred's.
- 1:41:41Speaker 8: If you reverse the numbers, what's more impressive.
- 1:41:45Speaker 6: So you're welcome.
- 1:41:46Speaker 4: I'm tempted to pick, like a rock fight Baltimore by
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: three division game, but that Steelers offense is wretched, and
- 1:41:54Speaker 4: Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: Is just he's a mess.
- 1:41:56Speaker 4: It's physically yeah, it's physically just as banged up, if
- 1:41:59Speaker 4: not more than Lamar. So I'm gonna take Baltimore to
- 1:42:01Speaker 4: the cruise in this one.
- 1:42:04Speaker 7: Definitely Baltimore to win. They just don't look right to
- 1:42:09Speaker 7: me as a team. But you guys are right about that.
- 1:42:14Speaker 7: That offense for Pittsburgh is hard to put any faith in.
- 1:42:17Speaker 7: I'll lay the points. Usually Pittsburgh and Baltimore played tighter.
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: They do, so I'm gonna take the points. Baltimore will win,
- 1:42:24Speaker 3: but I think Pittsburgh's within six. We'll see Mike Tomlin.
- 1:42:29Speaker 3: I'm a tempted to just lay them, but I'll take
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: the points. Is there a hook?
- 1:42:34Speaker 7: There there's no hook.
- 1:42:35Speaker 3: There's no hook.
- 1:42:36Speaker 5: I'll come because there's only six.
- 1:42:38Speaker 3: I know, like they should never do that because then
- 1:42:40Speaker 3: they can push.
- 1:42:42Speaker 6: Why do they do that?
- 1:42:44Speaker 4: Yes, is five and the hook to encourage.
- 1:42:46Speaker 5: I mean, it could be different on DraftKings now first
- 1:42:49Speaker 5: thing in the morning.
- 1:42:50Speaker 4: But there's Lamar not practicing. News just broke so problem.
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: That's pushing it. Sunday at one on Fox, the one
- 1:42:59Speaker 3: and eleven tightens at the three and nine Browns.
- 1:43:03Speaker 5: What a great game? Oh my, Cleveland by four and
- 1:43:05Speaker 5: a half.
- 1:43:07Speaker 6: And who is the Quarterback's a still Shire?
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: Actually Sean Watson's practicing open.
- 1:43:14Speaker 6: They open the window, the window bringing some leadership back
- 1:43:16Speaker 6: to that room. Windowesh, let's slip that one in. I
- 1:43:22Speaker 6: was gonna take Cleveland at home.
- 1:43:24Speaker 7: I lay the points.
- 1:43:24Speaker 6: I don't know, Okay, I.
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: Take Cleveland to win, and then I'll hedge give Tennessee
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: the points.
- 1:43:32Speaker 4: I'm going to take Cleveland both ways. I think there's
- 1:43:35Speaker 4: a chance Miles Garrett breaks the sack record in this game,
- 1:43:37Speaker 4: and I just think Cleveland's defense dominates and causes like
- 1:43:41Speaker 4: five turnovers.
- 1:43:42Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm gonna do the same thing for the same reason.
- 1:43:43Speaker 7: I think the only reason to watch this game is
- 1:43:46Speaker 7: to see if Miles Gary can sack cam Ward I
- 1:43:49Speaker 7: don't know seven times and win get the record.
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: Sunday at one, Oh, I didn't do my pick Cleveland
- 1:43:56Speaker 3: both ways. I can't believe I'm in the hot AFC South.
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: It's the h Indianapolis Colts at eight and four, going
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: to Jacksonville eight and four Sunday at one on CBS.
- 1:44:08Speaker 7: Good game, Colts by one and a half. Good game,
- 1:44:10Speaker 7: Good game, Mike.
- 1:44:11Speaker 5: You always yell at me when I don't tell you
- 1:44:13Speaker 5: when there's things.
- 1:44:14Speaker 7: The Jags own the Colts.
- 1:44:16Speaker 6: I know, I you know that's one I actually do.
- 1:44:18Speaker 4: Remember.
- 1:44:18Speaker 6: I'm gonna take the Jags and Trevor Lawrence. I think, uh,
- 1:44:22Speaker 6: I'm fading the Colts.
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: Colts, Colts.
- 1:44:27Speaker 4: This one's hard for me because I don't know which
- 1:44:28Speaker 4: team's fake. I don't know which team to believe in.
- 1:44:32Speaker 4: But I'm gonna take Duvall because Daniel Jones with a
- 1:44:35Speaker 4: broken fibula does not seem like a good formula for
- 1:44:38Speaker 4: the Colts to win games down the stretch.
- 1:44:40Speaker 6: So do all three d printed Grace.
- 1:44:44Speaker 7: I'm again in lockstep with Evan Jacksonville for the reasons
- 1:44:48Speaker 7: he said.
- 1:44:49Speaker 6: I said it to Paul.
- 1:44:50Speaker 7: I said jackson the Daniel Jones broken fibulary.
- 1:44:52Speaker 5: That's why I'm on Jacksonville.
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: Folks, you're looking for a lock This is it Jacksonville.
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: That's your lock.
- 1:45:00Speaker 7: You're welcome.
- 1:45:01Speaker 3: There you go.
- 1:45:02Speaker 4: He loves Trevor Lawrence. You love Trevor. That's Trevor.
- 1:45:08Speaker 3: Washington three and nine at Minnesota, four and eight on
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: Fox Sunday at one Minnesota by two and a half.
- 1:45:15Speaker 4: JJ nine is back. Nine's back.
- 1:45:19Speaker 5: No, I know what it means, but like, who makes
- 1:45:22Speaker 5: fun of that?
- 1:45:22Speaker 4: Oh, it's his.
- 1:45:23Speaker 8: It's his alter ego that he says, like he calls
- 1:45:25Speaker 8: him nine that. I mean he flips the switch kind
- 1:45:27Speaker 8: of like in.
- 1:45:28Speaker 7: Over the top.
- 1:45:30Speaker 5: That's what I'm asking.
- 1:45:31Speaker 6: Switch the hat. It's like a machine, you knowuse I.
- 1:45:33Speaker 7: Noticed herb Street's big on that. Yeah, he refers to
- 1:45:36Speaker 7: guys by their numbers.
- 1:45:37Speaker 4: When I'm between the lines, I'm nine.
- 1:45:39Speaker 7: I think was the he won't be surprised to learn Alex.
- 1:45:41Speaker 7: I don't care for it. I like just call him
- 1:45:43Speaker 7: by his name.
- 1:45:44Speaker 6: I like when coaches do it.
- 1:45:45Speaker 8: They're like, like, you're playing the Browns and we're gonna
- 1:45:48Speaker 8: have to be aware of number ninety five.
- 1:45:51Speaker 6: Miles Scarett.
- 1:45:51Speaker 7: Yeah, it was big.
- 1:45:53Speaker 4: He was a numbers guy. He wasn't a names guy,
- 1:45:55Speaker 4: but he would always have the names.
- 1:45:56Speaker 7: Yeah, for the Wednesday press conference. Oh yes, oh yeah,
- 1:45:59Speaker 7: oh yeah, that was the But I've had a chance
- 1:46:02Speaker 7: to watch film with Belichick and he's absolutely right. Every
- 1:46:07Speaker 7: single guy is like, you know this bleep in the slot,
- 1:46:10Speaker 7: you know thirty one here, like that's how we referred
- 1:46:13Speaker 7: to everybody.
- 1:46:14Speaker 5: But on Wednesdays he had all the names.
- 1:46:16Speaker 7: Uh last name two, you are correct, I'm gonna go
- 1:46:20Speaker 7: two and a half in Minnesota.
- 1:46:21Speaker 8: Then I'm gonna take Minnesota at home, I'll take nine. No,
- 1:46:24Speaker 8: you're not rolling with nine.
- 1:46:26Speaker 4: It's a crazy pick.
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: I'm gonna take Washington.
- 1:46:28Speaker 5: It's a crazy pick.
- 1:46:30Speaker 4: I'm also taking Washington.
- 1:46:32Speaker 7: Washington.
- 1:46:33Speaker 4: Mariota looked a little Mariota sorry, he looked a little,
- 1:46:37Speaker 4: a little frisky. And that Vikings team is broken.
- 1:46:39Speaker 7: I think, yeah, I'm gonna take Washington too, But I'm
- 1:46:43Speaker 7: a little worried that they sort of emptied the tank
- 1:46:46Speaker 7: in that game Sunday night.
- 1:46:47Speaker 3: But what are the shots? Really? Why? Why is Minnesota
- 1:46:51Speaker 3: this game? What are the shots?
- 1:46:52Speaker 5: Two bad teams?
- 1:46:53Speaker 6: They took the home team that's only two and a
- 1:46:55Speaker 6: hal because usually at home.
- 1:46:57Speaker 3: Even more like it's more like two.
- 1:47:00Speaker 7: But they both had the same, like same similar records, right, yep, ye,
- 1:47:05Speaker 7: three and eight the home team.
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: I'm going to take Washington. I like what I saw
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: last week.
- 1:47:10Speaker 4: This is actually uh it's two and a half on ESPN,
- 1:47:14Speaker 4: and so two and a half it's a that isn't
- 1:47:16Speaker 4: there the home team, so they're getting two and a half.
- 1:47:18Speaker 4: So it's really it's assentially all right.
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: Sunday at one on CBS Miami five and seven at
- 1:47:26Speaker 3: New Jersey three and nine. I'm talking about the Jets here.
- 1:47:30Speaker 5: Miami by two and a half.
- 1:47:32Speaker 8: The weather kind of makes this interesting because think' supposed
- 1:47:34Speaker 8: to be an arctic cold this weekend, and I assume
- 1:47:36Speaker 8: that would be the case in New York as well,
- 1:47:38Speaker 8: and I just love Miami and the cold. Uh So
- 1:47:42Speaker 8: I'm just gonna keep my crazy Deuces crazy picks this week.
- 1:47:44Speaker 8: Going on the bye week, I'm taking the Jets up
- 1:47:46Speaker 8: set at home, sit down Miami in one twelve take Miami.
- 1:47:53Speaker 7: I didn't get it for a second. He's being me
- 1:47:57Speaker 7: to you today. He's your boy.
- 1:47:58Speaker 3: I love it.
- 1:47:59Speaker 4: It's good for the show. It's all.
- 1:48:05Speaker 6: We'll have one on one after this Miami Me.
- 1:48:08Speaker 4: I mean, I do agree with Deuce that, uh, the
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: cold is a factor here for the Miami Dolphins coming
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: up north. But that Jets team is just not good
- 1:48:19Speaker 4: enough and the Dolphins are kind of rolling. So I'm
- 1:48:21Speaker 4: going to take the Dolphins.
- 1:48:26Speaker 5: I don't think.
- 1:48:27Speaker 7: I mean, I love the struggle.
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: Look at this.
- 1:48:28Speaker 5: I'm just gonna take Miami.
- 1:48:30Speaker 7: But I am not like this whole like, oh they're
- 1:48:33Speaker 7: back in, Like if they were again, if they were
- 1:48:36Speaker 7: like blowing doors off of these bad teams, or at
- 1:48:38Speaker 7: least looking better against these bad teams, maybe I'd believe
- 1:48:43Speaker 7: in it more. But I could absolutely see Mike's pick coming.
- 1:48:46Speaker 6: Through the Jets little respect.
- 1:48:48Speaker 7: But I'll take I'll take Miami, and all of a sudden,
- 1:48:51Speaker 7: there's six and seven.
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: I can't believe I'm agreeing with Mike. I'm going with
- 1:48:54Speaker 3: the Jets.
- 1:48:55Speaker 4: I start.
- 1:48:57Speaker 6: You know, there's literally a whole song where it's like
- 1:48:58Speaker 6: he's lasting the picks. I mean, there's been songs written
- 1:49:00Speaker 6: about my performancy.
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: So I get nervous.
- 1:49:05Speaker 3: Negative. Sunday at one on CBS, it's the two and
- 1:49:08Speaker 3: ten Saints at the seven and five Buccaneers.
- 1:49:13Speaker 7: Boy, Tampa got this season bailed up by some bad scheduling.
- 1:49:16Speaker 5: Huh, Tampa by eight and a half.
- 1:49:19Speaker 3: They were reeling is Mayfield playing.
- 1:49:21Speaker 4: Yes, I mean, what's that iron man?
- 1:49:24Speaker 3: He is an iron man.
- 1:49:25Speaker 4: We know who Red's taken.
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: In this game.
- 1:49:27Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm taking Tampa. A lay the points, Tampa Tampa.
- 1:49:31Speaker 4: So I will say Tyler Shuck has like been like
- 1:49:35Speaker 4: sneaky fun. Watched him a little bit yesterday, like it's
- 1:49:39Speaker 4: sneaky fun. But I'm gonna take the bucks.
- 1:49:41Speaker 7: Why were you watching him yesterday?
- 1:49:43Speaker 4: Because he's been sneaky fun, Like he just does these
- 1:49:45Speaker 4: things and like he's like, you know, running around like
- 1:49:49Speaker 4: six guys coming after him and making throws like there's
- 1:49:52Speaker 4: a little something there.
- 1:49:54Speaker 5: Convinced me.
- 1:49:54Speaker 7: I'll take the points.
- 1:49:55Speaker 5: Chucking don Tampa and I'll take the points.
- 1:49:57Speaker 3: I will take Bccaneers both ways they cover. So now
- 1:50:01Speaker 3: the crown jewel of the one o'clock slate, it's the
- 1:50:04Speaker 3: four and eight Bengals at the eight and four jewel.
- 1:50:11Speaker 7: Buffalo by five and a half.
- 1:50:15Speaker 4: Buffalo by five and a hal that's crazy, disrespectful.
- 1:50:19Speaker 6: I'm gonna take Buffalo to win. I'm gonna take the
- 1:50:20Speaker 6: points for Joe Burr.
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: I'm doing the same thing.
- 1:50:23Speaker 4: I'm gonna do the thread.
- 1:50:26Speaker 3: Window closing.
- 1:50:27Speaker 4: The window is closing. I'm taking the Bengals. I think
- 1:50:30Speaker 4: the Bengals have been playing better than the Bills lately.
- 1:50:33Speaker 4: I think the Bills are starting to get a little
- 1:50:36Speaker 4: bit of nerves. They're getting a little hot bunch. They're
- 1:50:38Speaker 4: in Buffalo with their GM and head coach. I'm taking
- 1:50:41Speaker 4: the Bengals nice.
- 1:50:44Speaker 7: I'll take the Bills at home both ways, they are.
- 1:50:47Speaker 4: Much better at home.
- 1:50:49Speaker 3: I'm with Evan, let's go Bengals, killing you.
- 1:50:53Speaker 6: I hate them, hate him, but he loves the Patriots more.
- 1:50:56Speaker 3: The least they can do for me is win this game.
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: Now we move to four oh five. Uh, it's the
- 1:51:03Speaker 3: Denver Broncos at ten and two at the Raiders at
- 1:51:06Speaker 3: two and ten.
- 1:51:08Speaker 5: Denver by seven and a half.
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: Ooh, it feels like a big number for Denver.
- 1:51:13Speaker 13: Uh.
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna.
- 1:51:16Speaker 6: I don't want to antagonize any Broncos fans.
- 1:51:18Speaker 8: I'm gonna take Denver and I'm gonna but I'm gonna
- 1:51:20Speaker 8: take the points for the Raiders because you know what,
- 1:51:22Speaker 8: Bronco fans, the Raiders a little more frisky than anything
- 1:51:26Speaker 8: or not.
- 1:51:27Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:51:27Speaker 2: I'm tempted to do it us did, but I won't
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: Denver Denver.
- 1:51:34Speaker 4: The first time these teams played. It was close, but
- 1:51:36Speaker 4: it was a Thursday night game.
- 1:51:37Speaker 7: Ten seven Denver.
- 1:51:40Speaker 4: I'm gonna take the fraud Broncos, but I am going
- 1:51:44Speaker 4: to take the Raiders to cover that spread.
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: I am.
- 1:51:48Speaker 5: I'm gonna take Denver both ways.
- 1:51:50Speaker 7: I think you probably should. I think they remember how
- 1:51:52Speaker 7: close that game was. There'll be a lot of Broncos
- 1:51:54Speaker 7: fans in Vegas. It'll be like another home game, which
- 1:51:57Speaker 7: fred to you a point. They play all their games
- 1:51:59Speaker 7: at all, right, Right, when you look at.
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: These Division games, when one of them is close, usually
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: the other one isn't ive. So Denver covers this game.
- 1:52:10Speaker 3: They'll lose some games, don't worry, but not this one.
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: Sunday four twenty five on Fox Chicago is nine and three.
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: They're going to Green Bay, who was eight three and one.
- 1:52:19Speaker 7: Good ball game, green Bay by six and a half.
- 1:52:23Speaker 3: Oh really, it's Respec's that's.
- 1:52:26Speaker 6: Respect right, That's pretty significant.
- 1:52:29Speaker 7: It's almost like people have actually watched the games and
- 1:52:32Speaker 7: realized that one team's pretty good. This has a lot
- 1:52:34Speaker 7: of talent.
- 1:52:35Speaker 5: The other team's doing it.
- 1:52:35Speaker 3: With mers turnovers.
- 1:52:38Speaker 6: Ben Johns, Yeah, I'll take green Bay at home. I'll
- 1:52:40Speaker 6: lay the points.
- 1:52:41Speaker 2: I'll take Green Bay to win. I will give Chicago
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: the points?
- 1:52:46Speaker 4: Did you lay the points? I'm taking my guy. I'm
- 1:52:50Speaker 4: taking Ben Johnson. I believe for the du I believe
- 1:52:54Speaker 4: that the Chicago Bears and Ben Johnson win this game.
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: That's my guy. Took a shirt off after the game
- 1:53:00Speaker 4: last week. Everybody's talking about that, got it.
- 1:53:03Speaker 3: I didn't care.
- 1:53:04Speaker 4: Got everybody free hot dogs in Chicago because he's a
- 1:53:07Speaker 4: good guy.
- 1:53:07Speaker 7: It was a big you know, it was a big thing.
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: Right, I'm taking his shirt respect.
- 1:53:12Speaker 4: I don't want to.
- 1:53:13Speaker 2: I don't want to together you have celebration. Why do
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: they all take their shirts for years?
- 1:53:22Speaker 5: So Chubby Paul has never same part, same Chubby.
- 1:53:25Speaker 6: I'd follow my pool with the shirt on by Actually.
- 1:53:27Speaker 3: Not anymore, Oh no, I never.
- 1:53:29Speaker 7: I've never gone swimming with a shirt on. I know,
- 1:53:31Speaker 7: but Chubby Paul does not just randomly take a Choy Paul.
- 1:53:35Speaker 3: You have to run around in the shower to get wet.
- 1:53:39Speaker 5: Do you know the details of what?
- 1:53:40Speaker 24: Like?
- 1:53:40Speaker 5: Wasn't it some kind of agreement?
- 1:53:42Speaker 4: So the uh, this very famous hot dog place in
- 1:53:46Speaker 4: Chicago said that if Ben Johnson took his shirt off
- 1:53:51Speaker 4: in the postgame celebration that they would give free hot
- 1:53:54Speaker 4: dogs for the entire day. To everybody, it was a gimmick.
- 1:53:58Speaker 7: It was it was it was some kind of a
- 1:54:01Speaker 7: It was so good for him because I like, as
- 1:54:04Speaker 7: you know, I'm generally on your side.
- 1:54:06Speaker 5: I'm not a big fan of this wasn't.
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: Just because I wanted to get it. For other people,
- 1:54:12Speaker 3: that's fine, and.
- 1:54:12Speaker 4: I feel like that's not getting talked about enough that
- 1:54:16Speaker 4: that was the context of it. So now everybody just
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: thinks that he was being a hard oh and just
- 1:54:20Speaker 4: took his shirt off.
- 1:54:21Speaker 6: I like that.
- 1:54:22Speaker 7: Yeah, I wasn't running the stairs before the game.
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: Robert fair trade exactly, and Dubbs because he's Ben Johnson's
- 1:54:29Speaker 4: a good coach.
- 1:54:29Speaker 6: That wasn't the answer you were looking for. Why do
- 1:54:31Speaker 6: guys take it because of hot dogs?
- 1:54:33Speaker 7: Hot dogs?
- 1:54:33Speaker 4: I don't understand that.
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: I get it. I hope that right to make the newsletter.
- 1:54:39Speaker 7: I hope Evan's right. I'm leaving for Chicago this game.
- 1:54:42Speaker 7: I don't like green Bay very much, and I do
- 1:54:45Speaker 7: like what Ben Johnson is doing. I don't think that
- 1:54:48Speaker 7: the Bears are on the Packers level. I'll take green
- 1:54:51Speaker 7: Bay both well.
- 1:54:52Speaker 3: Not only are they on the Packers level, they're going
- 1:54:53Speaker 3: to be in the Super Bowl against the Patriots. So
- 1:54:55Speaker 3: the Bears are going to win.
- 1:54:56Speaker 7: Be a continuation.
- 1:54:58Speaker 6: Bears are going to win.
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: Sunday at four to twenty five on Fox, It's the
- 1:55:03Speaker 3: Rams at nine and three at the Cardinals three and.
- 1:55:06Speaker 5: Nine, Rams by seven and a half Paul's Rams.
- 1:55:11Speaker 6: Yeah, that's a good number.
- 1:55:12Speaker 5: Rams late at Egg last week.
- 1:55:14Speaker 25: Yeah.
- 1:55:14Speaker 6: I don't care for Jacoby Brissette's chances in this game.
- 1:55:17Speaker 6: I'm gonna take the Rams.
- 1:55:19Speaker 4: I have been impressed with Jacoby Brissett, complete and past.
- 1:55:22Speaker 4: I have been impressed with him. But I like the
- 1:55:25Speaker 4: Rams to bounce back, So.
- 1:55:29Speaker 5: I think the Rams will absolutely win the game.
- 1:55:31Speaker 7: I will take the hook, and I agree with Evan
- 1:55:34Speaker 7: the Cardinals somehow will find a way to be more
- 1:55:37Speaker 7: competitive than.
- 1:55:38Speaker 5: A team with no wins. Should be angry Browns, So
- 1:55:41Speaker 5: I'll take I'll take the hook.
- 1:55:42Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with the Rams both ways.
- 1:55:45Speaker 6: We have a lot of different I know it's gonna interesting.
- 1:55:48Speaker 6: I turn it around.
- 1:55:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it could be, could be well great coming back
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: Sunday night twenty in the Peacock. Uh, it's Houston seven
- 1:55:59Speaker 3: and five at the Chiefs six and six.
- 1:56:02Speaker 7: Now, the desperation game for both sides. Kansas City by
- 1:56:07Speaker 7: three and a half.
- 1:56:08Speaker 6: Sugar A push, shoot, I don't know what to go
- 1:56:11Speaker 6: with this one, guys.
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: Push.
- 1:56:13Speaker 6: I'm rooting for Houston, Kinna, but I'm going to ta
- 1:56:15Speaker 6: Kansas City at home. That's my default mode. Just three
- 1:56:18Speaker 6: three and a half and half.
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: Ago and a half.
- 1:56:21Speaker 2: I'll take Kansas City, but I'll take a close game
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: Houston cover.
- 1:56:26Speaker 4: NBC and Fubo are in a dispute.
- 1:56:28Speaker 6: You're telling me about it right after I signed up
- 1:56:30Speaker 6: for We.
- 1:56:31Speaker 4: Don't get NBC on Fubo, so we're actually having to
- 1:56:34Speaker 4: watch Sunday Night football on Peacock lately, which has been
- 1:56:37Speaker 4: very annoying. But I am going to take Kansas City
- 1:56:41Speaker 4: at home at Arrowhead because Houston playing outside, I don't
- 1:56:44Speaker 4: trust them. I don't trust them to play in that environment.
- 1:56:47Speaker 6: With some licks on my HOMESTID take Kansas City.
- 1:56:51Speaker 7: I'm going to take Kansas City to win the game,
- 1:56:53Speaker 7: but like Alex, I will take the hook and have
- 1:56:55Speaker 7: the Texans lose by a field goal.
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm with you. If this was Houston, i'd be
- 1:57:00Speaker 3: picking Houston. But I'm worried about Houston's offense in Kansas City. Uh,
- 1:57:06Speaker 3: so I will take the points. Kansas City wins, but
- 1:57:09Speaker 3: they do not cover Hi Funk. Monday night at eight
- 1:57:14Speaker 3: point fifteen on ESPN, it's the eight and four Spiraling
- 1:57:18Speaker 3: Eagles against the Chargers, who are also eight and four.
- 1:57:22Speaker 8: Philly by three Philly, Philly. It's another interesting one. Would
- 1:57:26Speaker 8: this be on the Rooting interest Guide? Would this be
- 1:57:28Speaker 8: a do you have any take?
- 1:57:29Speaker 6: Do we care?
- 1:57:30Speaker 4: I mean, is this kind of thing.
- 1:57:33Speaker 7: You want to be?
- 1:57:33Speaker 5: Warped mindedn't it?
- 1:57:34Speaker 7: You'd root for the Chargers because I don't think they're
- 1:57:36Speaker 7: all that good, and you'd want them to make the playoffs.
- 1:57:38Speaker 4: Yeah, No, this one doesn't matter.
- 1:57:39Speaker 7: Paul's made for this.
- 1:57:41Speaker 3: That's that's I.
- 1:57:41Speaker 7: Would think evident. Well, you're not allowed to do that,
- 1:57:44Speaker 7: though I used to do it for this for this
- 1:57:46Speaker 7: very reason.
- 1:57:48Speaker 5: You get the smoke if you do it. So I'm
- 1:57:50Speaker 5: not doing it anymore.
- 1:57:52Speaker 6: I'm gonna take Philly.
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: I'll lay the points, same Philly, Philly.
- 1:57:58Speaker 4: I'm tempted to take the Chargers, but Justin Herbert has
- 1:58:01Speaker 4: like a broken hand, correct, and he's gonna play with it.
- 1:58:04Speaker 5: I think he had surgery Monday.
- 1:58:06Speaker 4: Yeah, he has a broken left hand, so it's not
- 1:58:09Speaker 4: his throwing hand, but he can't hand the ball off
- 1:58:12Speaker 4: with his left hand. The same thing with Rogers, right,
- 1:58:14Speaker 4: so they're all gonna all the snaps are gonna have
- 1:58:16Speaker 4: to right, Yeah, it.
- 1:58:19Speaker 6: Can't.
- 1:58:20Speaker 4: Sorry short Philly.
- 1:58:22Speaker 7: Yeah, I think this is a good matchup for Philly
- 1:58:25Speaker 7: with their front against the six and seven string tackles
- 1:58:28Speaker 7: that the Chargers have been thrown out there Philly both ways.
- 1:58:31Speaker 3: Yeah, as much as Philly is spiraling, this is au
- 1:58:35Speaker 3: they'll get this game because the Charges are also all right. Well,
- 1:58:41Speaker 3: that's it for this week. We didn't skip over anything
- 1:58:45Speaker 3: because of course the Patriots aren't playing there on the by,
- 1:58:47Speaker 3: so hopefully everyone's getting rested up, including us. We'll be
