Tanner wakes up with a restlessness he can’t explain — not anxiety, not fear, just a sense that something is shifting. At school, Micah asks if he can come to church on Sunday. Tanner says yes immediately. Lina pauses — not because she doesn’t want Micah there, but because she wants him to come for the right reasons.
Micah’s answer settles it: “I’ve been thinking about it since you guys stood up for me. Nobody ever did that before. And I keep wondering… where does that come from?”
