Good morning and a warm welcome to your show,
• 0:04
Sunny Mornings in Boston. I'm your host, Melissa,
• 0:09
and it's Tuesday, May 26. You'll be interested
• 0:13
to know, 57 years ago, today, in 1969, Apollo
• 0:20
10's crew completed a full dress rehearsal for
• 0:23
a lunar landing by flying the command module
• 0:26
and lunar module close to the moon and returning
• 0:29
safely to Earth. That success validated navigation,
• 0:34
rendezvous, and reentry procedures as a reliable
• 0:37
template and boosted confidence that the United
• 0:40
States could achieve a human moon landing soon.
• 0:44
So now you know. And now, it's time for the weather
• 0:49
report. This morning, it's mostly sunny, and

it feels like 62 degrees with 2 mile per hour
• 0:59

• 1:03
it will rise again tomorrow at 5 .15. It looks
• 1:07
like we're in for some mostly sunny weather today,

with temperatures reaching around 84 and a light

Expect partly cloudy skies with a low of 64 and
• 1:27

• 2:42
Sunny Morning sent you. In local news. The ongoing
• 2:48
exchange between Celtics star Jalen Brown and
• 2:52
ESPN pundit Steffi Smith shows no signs of slowing
• 2:56
down. On Sunday, Brown expressed his frustrations
• 2:59
about the media industry during a Twitch stream,
• 3:03
stating, I'm really focused on the industry that
• 3:06
he represents. After trading barbs for weeks,
• 3:09
Brown proposed a live debate at a venue like
• 3:12
Harvard or the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
• 3:15
to settle their differences. He challenged mainstream
• 3:19
traditional media versus the athlete. Let's see
• 3:23
who comes out on top. This feud intensified after
• 3:26
Boston's playoff exit against the Philadelphia
• 3:29
76ers, with Brown criticizing Smith's media tactics.
• 3:39
Now on to sports. The UCLA Bruins head into the
• 3:44
2026 NCAA Baseball Tournament as the number one
• 3:48
overall seed in the field of 64. UCLA is one
• 3:53
of 16 teams that will host the regional round
• 3:56
from May 29th to June 1st. Seven of the 16 regional
• 4:01
hosts hail from the Southeastern Conference,
• 4:03
including five of the top eight national seeds.
• 4:07
The Georgia Bulldogs, who won the Southeastern
• 4:10
Conference regular season and tournament titles,
• 4:13
are the highest -ranked Southeastern Conference
• 4:15
squad at number three. UCLA has been the best
• 4:20
team in college baseball for most of the season
• 4:22
with a 48 -6 record. The Bruins will be viewed
• 4:27
as the favorite to claim the title in Omaha.
• 4:30
In local sports, the Red Sox are back at Fenway
• 4:34
tonight to take on the Braves. and they need
• 4:37
this one badly. Boston is sitting at 22 -30 after
• 4:42
dropping all three to Minnesota last weekend.
• 4:46
Ranger Suarez takes the mound against Spencer
• 4:49
Strider, one of baseball's elite arms. It's a
• 4:52
pitching matchup that matters, and if the Sox
• 4:55
bats can get anything going, they've got a shot.
• 4:59
First pitch is at 645. Suarez has been solid
• 5:04
this year with an era over 5 -11 strikeouts through
• 5:07
his starts, though durability remains a concern.
• 5:11
On the roster front, Trevor Story is out 6 -10
• 5:15
weeks with a sports hernia, which opens the door
• 5:17
for Marcelo Mayer to finally get his natural
• 5:20
position at shortstop. The 23 -year -old has
• 5:24
been struggling this year, but moving to his
• 5:26
comfortable spot could unlock something offensively.
• 5:30
We've seen it work before with other Sox players.
• 5:33
Meanwhile, the Celtics got some well -deserved
• 5:36
individual honors. Derek White earned all defensive
• 5:41
first -team honors for the first time in his
• 5:43
career. Jalen Brown made the All -NBA second
• 5:47
team. Also, UConn's Alex Caraban is scheduled
• 5:52
for a pre -draft workout with Boston next week.
• 5:57
In top news. Ahead of the World Cup, pressure
• 6:01
to win and grow American soccer is on Tim Rehm's
• 6:04
mind. There's a lot riding on the 2026 FIFA World
• 6:08
Cup this summer, especially for the American
• 6:11
Covos. The hope is that the U .S. men's national
• 6:14
team will not only play well, but also make a
• 6:17
deep run in the tournament. Tim Rehm, a steady
• 6:21
presence on defense at Charlotte Football Club,
• 6:24
understands the stakes. He stated, I have no
• 6:28
doubt in my mind that we can win in a knockout
• 6:31
stage game. Ream, the only player with memories
• 6:34
of the 1994 tournament, is ready to do whatever
• 6:38
the team asks. He emphasized, I think the biggest
• 6:42
hope in Dream would be to say we've inspired
• 6:44
our own country. In business news, Lowe's is
• 6:50
sounding the alarm as customers change their
• 6:52
tune. Over the past few years, the sluggish United
• 6:56
States housing market has weighed heavily on
• 6:59
home improvement retail, and Lowe's has not been
• 7:02
immune. After weak sales growth in 2025, the
• 7:06
home improvement retail chain has expanded its
• 7:09
deals and services to win back customers. In
• 7:13
the first quarter of 2026, Lowe's saw its comparable
• 7:16
sales increase by 0 .6 % year over year. The
• 7:21
average amount of money spent per purchase increased
• 7:24
by 1 .5%, but the number of transactions declined
• 7:28
by 0 .9%. CEO Morgan Ellison noted a shift in
• 7:33
shopping habits among higher -income customers
• 7:36
as economic pressures mount. In crypto movement,
• 7:41
Bitcoin is unchanged at about $77 ,000. Ethereum
• 7:47
  is down 1 % to $2 ,000. And XRP is down 3 % to
• 7:53
$1 .34. Moving on to a more local vibe. In our

• 8:45
Let's talk tech. Ferrari is unveiling its first
• 8:49
electric vehicle, known as the Luce, after months
• 8:52
of anticipation. This vehicle stands out not
• 8:55
only as Ferrari's first electric offering, but
• 8:59
also due to its design, crafted in collaboration
• 9:01
with Johnny Ive and Mark Newson from their collective,
• 9:05
Love From. The Luce will be Ferrari's second
• 9:08
four -door car, and its first to accommodate
• 9:11
five seats. Tim Stevens, reporting for Engadget.
• 9:15
describes the Luce as feeling more like an SUV
• 9:18
than a traditional sports car. With four motors
• 9:22
and 1 ,035 horsepower, it promises exceptional
• 9:26
performance. Although no price is set for the
• 9:29
United States, it will debut at 550 ,000 euros
• 9:34
in Italy, marking it as the most expensive Ferrari
• 9:37
to date. And in entertainment news... This weekend's
• 9:45
global box office top 10 is highlighted by Mandalorian
• 9:49
and Groke, which earned $163 million worldwide,

land among the stars. And that's a wrap for this
