- 0:51Speaker 3: Thank you for asking.
- 0:52Speaker 4: You are good.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Not a whole lot has changed since the last we've spoken. Yes,
- 1:00Speaker 3: think I don't think we've talked much about the fact
- 1:03Speaker 3: that I'm going to China. China.
- 1:06Speaker 4: That's crazy, isn't that crazy? I love it. I love it. Strangely,
- 1:11Speaker 4: we've both been before.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, and I'm going to see more this time. Yeah,
- 1:18Speaker 3: and more than I.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Because I really only saw Beijing, smee. I was okay,
- 1:23Speaker 4: I didn't I didn't remember what you guys did. So
- 1:26Speaker 4: what's the scoop? Tell me everything about.
- 1:29Speaker 3: You know, I don't know a ton. If I'm being real,
- 1:32Speaker 3: that's fairy. That's okay. But we are doing like six shows.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Yeah we're going to be I know, we're in Beijing
- 1:42Speaker 3: and Shanghai and guang Chun, Dalian and another place. So yeah,
- 1:51Speaker 3: we'll get to see I'll get to see more of
- 1:54Speaker 3: the country and that's wonderful. But yeah, a lot of
- 1:57Speaker 3: work to get like a visa and dude, all that
- 2:02Speaker 3: the most we've ever had to deal with before. So
- 2:05Speaker 3: it's been quite the process. Hoping that there are people
- 2:08Speaker 3: that come to the show because it felt like it
- 2:10Speaker 3: was very last second.
- 2:11Speaker 4: I bet there will be.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I'm hoping.
- 2:14Speaker 4: I bet there will be.
- 2:15Speaker 3: I'm hoping, But yeah, it'll be your first time over
- 2:17Speaker 3: over over there.
- 2:18Speaker 4: So you guys, I mean I felt extremely tall when
- 2:24Speaker 4: I was in China. You guys are going to be like,
- 2:27Speaker 4: I guess you've been there, like you said, But Yep, I.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Was very tall. When I was at the Great Wall.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I just would like people didn't know me at all.
- 2:37Speaker 3: This was well before the sing off, Yes, and yeah,
- 2:40Speaker 3: I was just taking pictures with random people.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Did me too? They were just like, who's this alabaster
- 2:45Speaker 4: skinned young man? Yep, I did Have I ever told
- 2:48Speaker 4: you that? I told some folks I was James Cordon
- 2:51Speaker 4: when I was there.
- 2:52Speaker 3: No, you did not.
- 2:53Speaker 4: I it was like James Cardon and I don't even
- 2:56Speaker 4: know if they understood what I was like.
- 2:57Speaker 3: That was like, wait, Cordies, British, what's happening?
- 3:02Speaker 4: Oh I couldn't tell, right if they were speaking in
- 3:05Speaker 4: a different Mandarin accent.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Sure, sure maybe they couldn't either, but it is.
- 3:13Speaker 4: It was a weird culture shock to just have people
- 3:17Speaker 4: come up and take a picture with you just because
- 3:19Speaker 4: you're like this, you know, big white dude. And again
- 3:22Speaker 4: I'm not even that tall, but I felt pretty damn
- 3:25Speaker 4: tall over there, and definitely very like big broad for sure.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Yeah heavyweight.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Huh heavyweight? You do it?
- 3:34Speaker 4: I got you. Yeah. But that's gonna be so cool, man,
- 3:39Speaker 4: what a fun So you guys are doing six shows?
- 3:41Speaker 4: Are you there for like ten days? Then there's it's.
- 3:44Speaker 3: A full two weeks.
- 3:46Speaker 4: For a full two weeks, probably because it's gonna be
- 3:48Speaker 4: a lot of I remember jet lag really hit me
- 3:52Speaker 4: one Oh maybe it was when I came back. Anyway,
- 3:55Speaker 4: it's a long flight.
- 3:56Speaker 3: It is a very long flight. Yeah, it's from here
- 4:00Speaker 3: to Soul is where our first stop and that was
- 4:03Speaker 3: thirteen and a half hour flight.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I think mine was, Man, where did we get
- 4:08Speaker 4: I think we went Chicago straight to Beijing, m like
- 4:12Speaker 4: with no connections somehow. But it was nuts.
- 4:17Speaker 3: It's nits nuts.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Well that's cool, man, that'll be fun. It'll be fun
- 4:21Speaker 4: to hear how it all goes. And hopefully, like you said,
- 4:24Speaker 4: people will come and all that good stuff.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Right, and we're doing Yeah, so you and I were
- 4:29Speaker 3: doing some extra pods so we can stay on top
- 4:32Speaker 3: of it while I'm gone for two weeks.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Indeed, which is why I don't really have anything new.
- 4:36Speaker 5: Uh.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Life's good, life's good.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Top summer. Oh it's been so nice.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like I need to get out into
- 4:45Speaker 4: it more. I feel like I've been shying away from that.
- 4:48Speaker 4: I got to get into it.
- 4:50Speaker 3: You got to get into it, into it even just
- 4:53Speaker 3: like walks and stuff. I took Penny on a walk
- 4:55Speaker 3: earlier and it was just glorious.
- 4:57Speaker 4: I've been very bad about that, agreed, And I'm a man,
- 5:01Speaker 4: a man, an aging man, So I really got to
- 5:03Speaker 4: get out there and use these hips while they're still useful.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I don't know anyway anyway, Hey, what was the last
- 5:14Speaker 3: movie you watched.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Last movie I watched yesterday? I watched a film on
- 5:18Speaker 4: I think it was on Prime. It was on Prime
- 5:22Speaker 4: Heads of State? Rob Have you ever heard of it?
- 5:26Speaker 3: Chris Rock, Bernie Mack.
- 5:28Speaker 4: No, what was that called? Maybe that was also heads
- 5:31Speaker 4: of State?
- 5:32Speaker 3: I think it might have been.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Maybe it was just called head of Head of State.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Maybe I forgot all about that movie. No, this is
- 5:39Speaker 4: the one from this year. It is John Cena and
- 5:44Speaker 4: Idris Elba.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Oh, I've seen them on the circuit. I didn't know.
- 5:49Speaker 4: That they were doing namies. Yeah, I didn't know either.
- 5:53Speaker 4: I just happened to see this one was out there.
- 5:56Speaker 4: It also has uh oh what is her name? Yeah?
- 6:01Speaker 3: Yeah, Jonas.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Now, yes, this is a movie. It was pretty dumb,
- 6:07Speaker 4: but also pretty fun if I'm honest, like a comedy
- 6:11Speaker 4: action film. Uh Irise Elba is the UK Prime Minister.
- 6:15Speaker 4: John Cena is the President of the US, thus the
- 6:18Speaker 4: Heads of State.
- 6:20Speaker 3: That makes sense.
- 6:21Speaker 4: There is some shenanigans that happen, probably more than shenanigans.
- 6:27Speaker 4: There are threats on their lives and it turns into
- 6:31Speaker 4: like an action movie of them trying to go against that.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Shenanigans seemed a little light for that.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yeah, fatal Shenanigans.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, a pistol with the next guy who
- 6:44Speaker 4: says shenanigans.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Uh.
- 6:46Speaker 4: But yeah, this movie pretty stupid in parts, but honestly,
- 6:51Speaker 4: I love all these people a ton, and it was
- 6:54Speaker 4: it was just enough of like, yeah, we know this
- 6:56Speaker 4: is kind of dumb, but it's pretty fun, you know
- 6:58Speaker 4: that that. I had a good time. And the director,
- 7:02Speaker 4: oh what did he direct that? Hardcore Henry? But there
- 7:05Speaker 4: was another one bus Sorry, I should have rolled this
- 7:10Speaker 4: down navigetting a game shop. Don't fall asleep, Rob, stay
- 7:17Speaker 4: with me, Rob, stay with me. You're gonna like this. Nobody,
- 7:20Speaker 4: That's what it was. Nobody directed nobody. So it's that
- 7:24Speaker 4: very like fast almost like fast forward actionly like very
- 7:30Speaker 4: you know, very fast.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Yeah that style.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah for sure. So, uh, I think it's worth
- 7:37Speaker 4: checking out. I had a good time, but it is
- 7:39Speaker 4: like a dumb comedy action flick. So if you don't
- 7:43Speaker 4: think you're gonna like it, you're also probably right to
- 7:47Speaker 4: definite streamer. Yeah, because there was a couple of points
- 7:50Speaker 4: where I was like, come on, but I also was
- 7:53Speaker 4: super into it, you know, like I get it. Early on,
- 7:56Speaker 4: I was like, is this really the premise? And then
- 8:00Speaker 4: I also enjoyed it, so that was right. It was
- 8:03Speaker 4: fun cool check it out, Heads of State. How about
- 8:05Speaker 4: you do. What's the most recent movie you see?
- 8:08Speaker 3: I watched the new Vince Fawn film on Netflix called Nona's.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Oh how was that? I've heard people talking.
- 8:15Speaker 3: To you know, yeah, dude. We had some patrons mention
- 8:18Speaker 3: it and that it was worth checking out, and I
- 8:21Speaker 3: took the recommendation and I thought it was lovely. It
- 8:26Speaker 3: had some kind of cheesy, over the top parts, but
- 8:28Speaker 3: it was really heartfelt, had some funny moments. Made me
- 8:32Speaker 3: tear up like five times.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Oh boy, I'm in trouble.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Then you are in big trouble. I was in the
- 8:39Speaker 3: middle of a long travel day. Things weren't going great,
- 8:41Speaker 3: and I might have been in a more like emotional headspace.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I want at all but lots of booze for me.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Love it.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Vince Vaughn's character he opens up a restaurant to dedicate
- 8:56Speaker 3: to his late mother and he loved her. A Hallian
- 9:00Speaker 3: home cooks meals and had the idea to bring in
- 9:03Speaker 3: some older Italian grandmothers or Nona's to cook in the
- 9:08Speaker 3: kitchen and very cute idea, so cute that it was
- 9:14Speaker 3: actually based on a true story, which then made me
- 9:17Speaker 3: even more siri, I know, but dude, super sweet. It
- 9:23Speaker 3: had Lorraine Brocco, uh to Leah Shire, Susan Sarandon, Linda Cardellini,
- 9:29Speaker 3: showed up in more people you'd recognize as well. Totally, dude.
- 9:34Speaker 3: I liked it and then, yeah, the fact that it
- 9:37Speaker 3: was a true story made it even more special. So
- 9:40Speaker 3: that's great. Yeah, good recommendation to the Peytons.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Petons, they have good tastes. That's why they're here, you know.
- 9:47Speaker 4: Of course, it makes sense, It just makes sense.
- 9:50Speaker 3: But that is on Netflix. Speaking of streaming platforms, have
- 9:55Speaker 3: you been streaming anything fun?
- 9:57Speaker 4: Well, ignorant slut? I've been watching. I watched Airplane. Nice.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Nice.
- 10:06Speaker 4: It was wonderful. It continues to be great now. I'm
- 10:09Speaker 4: even wondering, is Rob you ignorant slut? Even from Airplane?
- 10:15Speaker 3: Dan Aykroyd was saying it to Jane Curtain.
- 10:18Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's right.
- 10:19Speaker 3: I don't know why you ignorant slut?
- 10:21Speaker 4: Yeah? Why did I think that was? Well? It's an
- 10:24Speaker 4: old com I did watch it, though, right, I did
- 10:27Speaker 4: watch Airplane. I loved it. They were talking jive. It
- 10:31Speaker 4: was a tough day to stop sniff and glue.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Uh, it's just a drinking problem. And then spells it
- 10:37Speaker 3: all over himself.
- 10:38Speaker 4: A hilarious movie that I remembered every beat from it
- 10:43Speaker 4: felt like while I was watching it, I was like, oh,
- 10:45Speaker 4: this is when this happens. Oh wow, I watched this
- 10:48Speaker 4: a lot as a kid. Apparently, you know, it's just
- 10:51Speaker 4: super funny and it honestly it was not on purpose,
- 10:55Speaker 4: but it is kind of snl in that there are
- 10:58Speaker 4: just like a little bits, you know, throughout it's almost
- 11:01Speaker 4: like a little sketches throughout everything. The two like the
- 11:06Speaker 4: white zone is for loading only, and then they like
- 11:09Speaker 4: argue back and forth and it's like, don't start with
- 11:11Speaker 4: your white zone again, you know. Like that whole thing.
- 11:15Speaker 4: All of it is just really funny and silly comedy stuff.
- 11:18Speaker 4: But I really liked it. That was fun.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Nice man. And that's having an anniversary where you're talking
- 11:23Speaker 3: about possibly doing that one.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Maybe that's why it like in my brain popped out
- 11:28Speaker 4: or something.
- 11:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:29Speaker 4: I think I saw it on Paramount or something.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Sure sound like a fun one, and I was like, yeah,
- 11:36Speaker 3: so yeah, I hope we do it.
- 11:37Speaker 4: That would be really fun. But it is. It is
- 11:40Speaker 4: a silly, good time that movie. And it's like an
- 11:43Speaker 4: hour twenty eight minutes is what it says, and beautiful.
- 11:46Speaker 4: You know. It's just like bam bam bamo joke joke,
- 11:50Speaker 4: which is really fun. So that's what I've been streaming.
- 11:52Speaker 4: How about you, bat?
- 11:54Speaker 3: I binged a newer series on Netflix called A Man
- 11:58Speaker 3: on the Inside featuring Ted Danson. Oh my, okay, you
- 12:03Speaker 3: haven't heard anything about this.
- 12:04Speaker 4: No. All I could think was dirty jokes to say,
- 12:07Speaker 4: I'm sorry, Oh yeah, no, this is not dirty and
- 12:12Speaker 4: ted Danson, yeah, super wonderful.
- 12:14Speaker 3: In this, he plays a retired widow who's having a
- 12:17Speaker 3: hard time filling up his days and decides to answer
- 12:20Speaker 3: and ad from a PI that would have him go
- 12:24Speaker 3: and check into an assisted living residence to try and
- 12:28Speaker 3: figure out who's been stealing some of the old folks jewelry.
- 12:34Speaker 4: Sounds great and I love him so much. He's such
- 12:38Speaker 4: a gem.
- 12:39Speaker 3: And this is going to make you feel that way
- 12:42Speaker 3: even more.
- 12:43Speaker 4: I'm definitely watch this.
- 12:44Speaker 3: He's just lovely dude. And it's by Michael shr who
- 12:49Speaker 3: did The Grafice and.
- 12:52Speaker 4: And The Good Place. Obviously The Good Place nice, but dude.
- 12:57Speaker 3: He was really funny. Such a fan of him. I
- 13:01Speaker 3: didn't know many of the other folks in it, but
- 13:03Speaker 3: it is like a big ensemble cast. Stephanie Beatriz from
- 13:08Speaker 3: Brooklyn ninety nine is also pretty great in it. Oh lovely.
- 13:12Speaker 4: I haven't seen her in anything super recently. That Buddies
- 13:16Speaker 4: movie I saw at one point.
- 13:19Speaker 3: And she was She's done a couple of musicals with
- 13:22Speaker 3: like in the Heights.
- 13:23Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's right, right, she was a.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Big pardon Incanto and but yeah, dude, I would I
- 13:30Speaker 3: would highly recommend you would love it. It's eight episodes.
- 13:33Speaker 3: They're like half hourish. It's quick and easy and fun.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Oh and Mary Elizabeth Ellis I don't know if you
- 13:39Speaker 4: said her. Sorry if I wasn't listening, that's a no.
- 13:42Speaker 4: She's from Always Sunny.
- 13:46Speaker 3: She's in and then yeah, she was Charlie's interest love
- 13:50Speaker 3: interest and it's Always.
- 13:51Speaker 4: And I think I think her and Charlie Day are married.
- 13:53Speaker 4: I think if I'm not mistaken in IRL, I think anyway,
- 13:58Speaker 4: I cannot confirm. Look it up on your own. Ah,
- 14:01Speaker 4: that's amazing, very cool, Yeah, very cool. Should we do
- 14:04Speaker 4: a few plug our runs? Yep? All right, guess can

- 15:28Speaker 3: Cured meat.
- 15:28Speaker 4: I have a whole disease background. Don't worry about it.
- 15:32Speaker 4: It's not worried. It's not a big deal, but.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Not a big deal.
- 15:35Speaker 4: I yeah, it should be fun. We'll see what that
- 15:38Speaker 4: should be a lot of fun.

- 15:50Speaker 4: brings it up, and usually it's to say I don't
- 15:52Speaker 4: remember what it is.
- 15:53Speaker 3: So that does happen. I will throw out there. We
- 15:57Speaker 3: are trying to see the new Superman and we're hoping that.
- 16:01Speaker 4: I hope it's that one. We'll find out together next
- 16:05Speaker 4: time when the episode we'll know before it's not important.
- 16:08Speaker 4: We are so happy to be here today though, to
- 16:11Speaker 4: talk about a lovely film celebrating it's what is it?
- 16:16Speaker 4: Is it? It's thirty thirtieth Wow, thirtieth anniversary. This is
- 16:21Speaker 4: a movie called Heavyweights.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Heavyweights and finally doing it.
- 16:26Speaker 4: We're finally doing it, and I'm so excited. And just
- 16:29Speaker 4: like in the film, we had to invite some some
- 16:32Speaker 4: fine young ladies from a different camp over. They thought
- 16:35Speaker 4: it would embarrass us, but really we will. We will
- 16:38Speaker 4: take take it by the horns and we will have.
- 16:41Speaker 3: A nice time.
- 16:42Speaker 4: I don't know where this is going, but we love
- 16:44Speaker 4: these ladies. Let's get it early for Jesse and Kay.
- 16:48Speaker 3: What's up, ladies?
- 16:50Speaker 4: Oh how are you? Oh God, guys are the best.
- 16:58Speaker 3: It's so nice to see your faces. It is great.
- 17:01Speaker 7: What a treat.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like we've had you both, But let's
- 17:04Speaker 4: introduce you separately, just so people can match name with voice.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Jesse your first on my list. Say hello to Jesse Biloski.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Everyone, Hi Jesse, Hello, everybody.
- 17:15Speaker 8: How's it going. I think this is our third time,
- 17:18Speaker 8: fourth time?
- 17:19Speaker 3: Oh my god, A few times.
- 17:21Speaker 4: I mean seasoned veterans in.
- 17:23Speaker 3: The movie Game Nights for sure. And then you guys
- 17:26Speaker 3: are both on days and confused and that's right on
- 17:28Speaker 3: some stuff.
- 17:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess ar't rookies anymore. You're heavy hitters. You're
- 17:33Speaker 4: heavy weight. It's okay, all right, already doing it, really
- 17:37Speaker 4: doing it?
- 17:37Speaker 3: How you been looks new.
- 17:39Speaker 9: Oh my gosh me yeah, hi, uh am on summer
- 17:43Speaker 9: break from school, And I said earlier, I feel like
- 17:46Speaker 9: I've been going on walks and reading and like that's it.
- 17:50Speaker 8: So I know, I feel like I want.
- 17:54Speaker 10: I always feel a little guilty saying that, but trying
- 17:57Speaker 10: summer break, you know what I mean, I just feel like,
- 18:01Speaker 10: you know, I get it. But so I'm it's real chill.
- 18:04Speaker 10: So my mom today doing great.
- 18:06Speaker 4: It's beautiful, lovely, welcome back, and Kate duncan a Hi.
- 18:13Speaker 7: I'm not sure if seeing my mom today would be
- 18:15Speaker 7: real chill, but anyhow, I'm so lovely to be here.
- 18:21Speaker 7: I just threw under the bus getting some shade right
- 18:24Speaker 7: up again, like catching strays for no time.
- 18:29Speaker 4: I'm going to send her at that clip, Yeah, proud brow.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Yeah, how you been?
- 18:36Speaker 4: What's now been good?
- 18:39Speaker 7: I'm on a lessened schedule, We'll say, from the insanity
- 18:45Speaker 7: of my school year. I love that they still expect
- 18:49Speaker 7: me to show up and like have pants on and
- 18:51Speaker 7: make big.
- 18:54Speaker 8: Just like a lot.
- 18:56Speaker 4: It's not great, feel bummer.
- 19:01Speaker 3: I love it.
- 19:02Speaker 4: But hey, on this podcast, i'd like you both to
- 19:04Speaker 4: know does not have those requirements, do.
- 19:07Speaker 7: Hey, what's going on?
- 19:09Speaker 4: Over here. I'm actually poo bearing right now, So.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Diferences. I love it?
- 19:21Speaker 4: Yea, yeah, I love it. I love it. Well, we're
- 19:24Speaker 4: happy to have you both here to talk about the
- 19:26Speaker 4: thirtieth anniversary of the film Heavyweights.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Heavyweights, and I.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Feel like we should just get right into it.
- 19:33Speaker 8: What do you guys think thirty years is crazy?
- 19:38Speaker 10: Because I remember watching it so many times and thirty
- 19:40Speaker 10: years is crazy.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Agreed, we'll just get back to the future as well.
- 19:44Speaker 4: And I was like, man, that makes.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Me feel Yeah, that's forty years.
- 19:49Speaker 4: It came with a year I was born.
- 19:51Speaker 8: Oh sure, ye that's crazy.
- 19:57Speaker 4: But yeah, Rob, will you get a started with just
- 20:00Speaker 4: a rough Yeah, I sure will.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Jerry is not looking forward to his summer vacation since
- 20:06Speaker 3: he'll be spending it at a camp for overweight boys
- 20:09Speaker 3: in order to shed pounds. Fortunately, a kindly couple, the Bushkins,
- 20:16Speaker 3: run the camp and make the process fun and relaxed. However,
- 20:20Speaker 3: they're soon forced to declare bankruptcy and sell the camp
- 20:23Speaker 3: to Tony purkis, a fitness fanatic who turns the camp
- 20:26Speaker 3: into a living nightmare of over the top training, but
- 20:31Speaker 3: the kids plan to fight back.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Wow all right, wow, great read Wow. I felt like
- 20:40Speaker 4: it was one long sentence.
- 20:42Speaker 3: There was two periods in there. Yeah, thanks wonderful. Let's
- 20:50Speaker 3: go to Roden to models and hear what they have
- 20:51Speaker 3: to say. Critics of this coming in in a.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Rock solid FI So that's good. What do you want
- 21:00Speaker 4: these people? I agree, and audience members agree with us
- 21:04Speaker 4: because it's up at seventy seven percent, which is much
- 21:07Speaker 4: more reasonable.
- 21:08Speaker 3: I think that's twenty seven higher.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Nicely, that's good. All right, good math Ma rops our
- 21:15Speaker 4: math guy.
- 21:16Speaker 3: I'm the math guy.
- 21:17Speaker 4: He's our math guy. Yeah, we're always saying it, but
- 21:21Speaker 4: I should I think we should go into what we
- 21:24Speaker 4: think hot take.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Oh that's a hot take. That's a hot take.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Oh it's such a day, spicy pork, cryings or something.
- 21:35Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 21:36Speaker 7: They like food, hot cheetos.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Cheetos that will not be drafted by me, like garbage, snack, garbage, garbage.
- 21:49Speaker 4: Let's okay, So let's let's all just be friend until later.
- 21:53Speaker 7: She's gonna sit on that for a while.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Yeah that when I eat them, I don't know what
- 22:04Speaker 4: that means.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Can we all move on? My hot take?
- 22:10Speaker 4: I love this movie. It is one of my all
- 22:12Speaker 4: time favorites. I don't think it's just because I was
- 22:16Speaker 4: a jubby young man who liked seeing all these jubby
- 22:19Speaker 4: young men thriving in the world. But I bet it
- 22:22Speaker 4: had something to do with it.
- 22:24Speaker 3: For sure.
- 22:25Speaker 4: As a precocious young man, I was like, oh, I
- 22:27Speaker 4: could have played that part in a movie very often,
- 22:30Speaker 4: and this movie, I was like, I mean, sign me up, guys,
- 22:33Speaker 4: I could have been any of these cats.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Let's roll.
- 22:36Speaker 4: I could have been the kid jumping on the blob.
- 22:38Speaker 4: You know what I mean. I think this movie is
- 22:44Speaker 4: hysterically funny. I think it is just it's just wonderful.
- 22:49Speaker 4: It also has some heartfelt moments. It's just like, this
- 22:53Speaker 4: movie is what I thought camp was. I wasn't like
- 22:57Speaker 4: the people in my community. We didn't really do cam
- 23:00Speaker 4: in the summer. That just wasn't a thing in northern Minnesota.
- 23:03Speaker 4: But if I went to one, I wanted it to
- 23:05Speaker 4: be like this, well at least until it got to
- 23:08Speaker 4: the fitness part.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I want that fitness.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Maybe we should just remake Heavyweights as adults. Yeah, I don't.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Just so many people in this that were involved in
- 23:27Speaker 4: this project. I didn't know this at the time, but
- 23:29Speaker 4: now have you know gone on to be in so
- 23:31Speaker 4: many other projects that we love, like Apatol, you know,
- 23:35Speaker 4: Ben Stiller, Keenan, you know, like all these people are
- 23:40Speaker 4: still in our lives today, which is crazy.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Uh yeah, I don't.
- 23:45Speaker 4: I think. That's all I'm gonna say is I love it,
- 23:46Speaker 4: and I will go to my hottest taken. I think
- 23:50Speaker 4: this is my favorite. Ben still a role that he's
- 23:53Speaker 4: ever done. I love it so much.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Wow, he is a psycho. It is a hot take
- 24:02Speaker 3: that I love it.
- 24:05Speaker 8: I love that.
- 24:06Speaker 10: I wrote down that this movie is the reason why
- 24:08Speaker 10: more comedy movies need awards because Ben Steeler's character is
- 24:14Speaker 10: so crazy.
- 24:15Speaker 8: And he does such a good job.
- 24:17Speaker 10: But I'm like, I kind of I get why you
- 24:19Speaker 10: do that because he kills it and he's.
- 24:22Speaker 3: So worthy, so great.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Oh yeah, so much. I love it. So that's my
- 24:27Speaker 4: hot take.
- 24:28Speaker 3: That is my favorite hot take.
- 24:31Speaker 7: Surface of the Sun hot take.
- 24:33Speaker 4: Wows to fall Up. I do.
- 24:39Speaker 3: This. This was my first time ever watching this movie.
- 24:43Speaker 4: I love that so much.
- 24:45Speaker 3: So funny this has rarely happened on the pod that
- 24:50Speaker 3: we're doing a movie with an anniversary that I've never
- 24:52Speaker 3: seen before, so I'm going into it. I didn't have
- 24:56Speaker 3: any of the nostalgia or the attachments to this movie
- 25:01Speaker 3: in my favor. That being said, I didn't love this movie.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Stop it. I know, I'm talking to three people who
- 25:08Speaker 3: adore it. But one thing I did love and was
- 25:14Speaker 3: surprised by was how many of these kids were also
- 25:16Speaker 3: in the Mighty Ducks movies that I did grow up with.
- 25:18Speaker 3: And I door, yeah, and then yeah, the Judd appet
- 25:23Speaker 3: I was a co writer. I had no idea about that.
- 25:28Speaker 3: I didn't hate it, and I was actually surprised that
- 25:32Speaker 3: it wasn't just a movie about like fat jokes and
- 25:36Speaker 3: making fun of overwing kids.
- 25:37Speaker 4: Like totally.
- 25:38Speaker 3: That was my expectation going into it, and thankfully it
- 25:42Speaker 3: was not that, so I was very happy about that.
- 25:44Speaker 4: It was actually like pretty empowering. Like upon rewatch, I
- 25:47Speaker 4: was like, yeah, it's a lot of it is them
- 25:49Speaker 4: taking that kind of back a little bit at least
- 25:52Speaker 4: to some degree.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, but I just felt like, it's definitely
- 25:57Speaker 3: it's definitely made for kids. And had I seen that
- 26:00Speaker 3: when it came out, I probably would have enjoyed it
- 26:02Speaker 3: a bunch. Being a forty year old man, it didn't
- 26:05Speaker 3: do a ton for me. I'm just saying, if you
- 26:11Speaker 3: guys could look at it through my eyes, I feel
- 26:14Speaker 3: like we'd be a little closer. But hot take the
- 26:18Speaker 3: Apache relay first off, did not age well. The campers
- 26:24Speaker 3: dressed as Native Americans. Probably wouldn't do that today. The
- 26:29Speaker 3: other camp looked like they were Romans. So we had
- 26:31Speaker 3: Native Americans and Romans. Yeah, that's just interesting. At didn't
- 26:36Speaker 3: make out of sense. The other thing is that it
- 26:40Speaker 3: really makes no sense that these kids never won this
- 26:43Speaker 3: race before there were like three athletic things in it.
- 26:48Speaker 3: It was like a sack race, throwing a football into
- 26:50Speaker 3: a tire and scoring with a soccer ball. The rest
- 26:54Speaker 3: of it. It does not matter how fit anyone is.
- 26:57Speaker 3: It's shaving a balloon, it's a zip line, it's a
- 27:00Speaker 3: trivia game.
- 27:02Speaker 4: They can't shave, you're not.
- 27:07Speaker 3: I'm just saying, like these it should have been like
- 27:10Speaker 3: way more athletically for them to believe that they could
- 27:14Speaker 3: never win over how many years.
- 27:16Speaker 7: It's a commentary on privilege and upward mobility.
- 27:20Speaker 4: That's all I heard that. I heard that.
- 27:22Speaker 10: Okay, I also have never thought so critically about this
- 27:25Speaker 10: movie in my life.
- 27:29Speaker 7: You know what they say, whether you think you can
- 27:32Speaker 7: or you think you can't, you're right.
- 27:35Speaker 3: You're right. So yeah, that's that's my my hottest The
- 27:41Speaker 3: apature really is not only offensive but doesn't make sense. Yeah,
- 27:46Speaker 3: non physical and racist.
- 27:49Speaker 4: There is that.
- 27:50Speaker 6: There's a few cringey moments we.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Say we wouldn't do that anymore, but I think we might.
- 27:55Speaker 4: I don't know, but anyway, Also, I just need a
- 27:59Speaker 4: real quick answer something for the edit here. Uh sorry, guys,
- 28:03Speaker 4: I don't know what happened. Rob's mike is cutting out,
- 28:05Speaker 4: so it's might not be in this episode. I don't know.
- 28:08Speaker 4: I don't know. I guess I.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Can have my.
- 28:13Speaker 7: So you launch a hot take like that and then
- 28:17Speaker 7: just decide Rob's dissenting views don't count.
- 28:20Speaker 4: I see you. Welcome to my America.
- 28:26Speaker 3: The edit so this is terrible.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Wow, I love that hot take, and honestly, if I
- 28:32Speaker 4: hadn't seen it so much as a kid, I yeah,
- 28:35Speaker 4: you're probably right.
- 28:36Speaker 8: Hotly, I didn't think about.
- 28:38Speaker 4: The nostalgia for sure, but hot take, hot, hot, hot hot,
- 28:44Speaker 4: I like it. Uh, Jesse Slam, who wants to go next?
- 28:48Speaker 6: You want to go?
- 28:49Speaker 2: Kate?
- 28:49Speaker 7: No, Jess you go?
- 28:51Speaker 8: You look no, I'm sorry. The jog is right here.
- 28:55Speaker 10: I that's really funny. You say that because I was
- 28:58Speaker 10: total nostalgia. There's so many like kind of slow motion
- 29:02Speaker 10: montages or like songs in it, and I was like,
- 29:05Speaker 10: I love the sh.
- 29:08Speaker 8: I was prepared. I haven't seen in a while.
- 29:10Speaker 10: I know, I rewatched it as an adult, and you know,
- 29:13Speaker 10: it's like every year it's like something else is definitely outdated.
- 29:17Speaker 10: So I was prepared to be like, I want everyone
- 29:19Speaker 10: to know that's listening. I love the movie, but I
- 29:21Speaker 10: understand there are things that are so I was watching
- 29:25Speaker 10: it with like whatever age lens, so there are cringing moments,
- 29:30Speaker 10: but I just loved. I feel like it was like
- 29:31Speaker 10: a get in, get out comedy. I love the nineties
- 29:35Speaker 10: energy of it. I love every single boy character in
- 29:40Speaker 10: that movie.
- 29:41Speaker 8: I also like.
- 29:42Speaker 10: That back in the day, I just feel like in
- 29:44Speaker 10: the nineties it was like normal looking actors, Like I.
- 29:48Speaker 8: Just you know what I'm saying, Like nowadays, sometimes.
- 29:50Speaker 10: I'm like everybody is so traditionally attractive, even down to
- 29:54Speaker 10: like little babies, that I'm just like, this is so.
- 29:58Speaker 8: It feels strange.
- 29:59Speaker 10: And so to see these kids that like I could
- 30:00Speaker 10: have in school running around, do you know, taking over
- 30:04Speaker 10: this grown man. You know, Like I just loved that,
- 30:07Speaker 10: and I probably has let a nostalgia, so I had
- 30:10Speaker 10: like a really good time watching it, and I cackled
- 30:13Speaker 10: so many times and cringed, but like, I was excited
- 30:18Speaker 10: that they overthrow this like Dictator crazy Man, and I
- 30:21Speaker 10: think that's great.
- 30:23Speaker 4: It was love it, love it, hot take, hot love
- 30:27Speaker 4: it all, Right, Kate, what do you got?
- 30:30Speaker 7: Okay, I'm coming in with a smoldering take and then
- 30:35Speaker 7: I'm gonna leave with an actual hot take smoldering take
- 30:40Speaker 7: is I am so impressed because if you look at
- 30:44Speaker 7: the writing credits, in addition to jod Apatow, you see
- 30:47Speaker 7: that Keenan gets writing credits.
- 30:51Speaker 4: So I didn't see that.
- 30:53Speaker 7: Yeah, so I was thinking about, like, Okay, then he
- 30:54Speaker 7: was in all that. I'm sure he was in many
- 30:56Speaker 7: more things between Heavyweights and all that, but like his
- 31:02Speaker 7: parents were so focused on his you know, career and
- 31:08Speaker 7: his IP and his ability to earn you know, royalties
- 31:12Speaker 7: on all of that. I was just like, Wow, we
- 31:14Speaker 7: are really in the business. So that was just impressive.
- 31:19Speaker 7: So this is actually a movie that I've never sat
- 31:23Speaker 7: down to watch. It has just been on in the background,
- 31:26Speaker 7: so I'm in the same. Yeah, it I think is
- 31:30Speaker 7: more nostalgic for me because I wasn't like fully blind
- 31:33Speaker 7: to it, but it was you know, it was high
- 31:38Speaker 7: jinks and it was the Mighty Ducks Crew for the
- 31:41Speaker 7: most part, and it was just like, I don't know,
- 31:45Speaker 7: maybe it's just right now, but it just felt like
- 31:47Speaker 7: such a simpler time.
- 31:49Speaker 4: We were sure we were.
- 31:50Speaker 7: Just worried about the blob, right.
- 31:55Speaker 3: So I liked it.
- 31:57Speaker 7: I thought it was like for what it is. Thought
- 32:00Speaker 7: it was really well written when it was written. Of course,
- 32:03Speaker 7: some of the like body image stuff, the stuff around
- 32:06Speaker 7: like what is being fit and healthy? And then obviously
- 32:10Speaker 7: the Indigenous people's dig was was not great. But yeah,
- 32:16Speaker 7: it was a fun romp, you know what I mean? Yes,
- 32:20Speaker 7: hell yeah, Okay, so a few like baby Hot takes one,
- 32:28Speaker 7: mid Drift Panthers Jersey.
- 32:31Speaker 8: Like so much what are we doing.
- 32:36Speaker 7: Costume? That's all I'm gonna live in l I v
- 32:39Speaker 7: I M. Which is a callback to our previous episode together.
- 32:43Speaker 11: Oh okay, here's what I hated and everybody's going to
- 32:49Speaker 11: see it coming one A quote quote well, being an
- 32:53Speaker 11: only child.
- 32:56Speaker 7: End quote, was like, excuse me, we are not complete
- 32:59Speaker 7: crazy people who have no context of how to interact
- 33:02Speaker 7: with other humans to the most derogatory situation of the
- 33:11Speaker 7: entire movie, this depiction of this skeezy man from western
- 33:18Speaker 7: Pennsylvania who owns a lighting fixture company. We don't roll
- 33:25Speaker 7: like that, Okay, mister.
- 33:28Speaker 4: That's what I meant by it's my favorite Ben Stiller performance.
- 33:30Speaker 4: It was that it was the dad. Actually it was
- 33:32Speaker 4: just is that not clear?
- 33:35Speaker 7: I was so upset about that my dad does not
- 33:37Speaker 7: wear tracksuits.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Oh that he definitely does.
- 33:42Speaker 7: But like a heartfelt final hot take is I love
- 33:47Speaker 7: a good frozen final scene, you know, like when like
- 33:52Speaker 7: the camera freezes sometimes it goes into like the aha
- 33:57Speaker 7: music video, like drawn, nostalgic, totally music type thing. I
- 34:02Speaker 7: love it. So I'm a sucker for that.
- 34:06Speaker 3: This fun I love that.
- 34:08Speaker 4: I like that hot take very hot. Wait, can I
- 34:11Speaker 4: add one additional hot take that I have?
- 34:13Speaker 3: No God, we just.
- 34:14Speaker 7: Singed our eyebrows off first.
- 34:18Speaker 3: It was hot, all right.
- 34:22Speaker 4: I was just gonna say, I know, I know and
- 34:25Speaker 4: knew a lot of chubby young men that were very
- 34:28Speaker 4: good at sports, and that part has always drove me
- 34:31Speaker 4: a little nuts about this movie. Like a ton of
- 34:36Speaker 4: these a ton of these chubby kids were really good
- 34:38Speaker 4: at sports. So I always was like that kind of
- 34:42Speaker 4: sucks that we don't get a little bit of that,
- 34:44Speaker 4: or like one kid it was awesome or something, you know,
- 34:47Speaker 4: but that's all I had. It wasn't me. I wasn't
- 34:49Speaker 4: that kid, but I knew.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Others it was not me, to be clear, definitely worked.
- 34:57Speaker 4: But anyhow, let's go into our favorite acting performance, shall we.
- 35:00Speaker 3: The dude.
- 35:03Speaker 12: I'm the dude, So that's what you call me, you
- 35:06Speaker 12: know that, or his dude or duder or you know,
- 35:11Speaker 12: el dud reno. If you're not into the whole brevity.
- 35:14Speaker 4: Thing, Kate, you want to go first with your dude, Well,
- 35:18Speaker 4: oh yeah you do. I do.
- 35:22Speaker 7: I am always going to pick Tim Blake Nelson like
- 35:29Speaker 7: I'm just always going to pick him like whatever, even
- 35:32Speaker 7: if he's.
- 35:32Speaker 3: In the movie for three seconds.
- 35:34Speaker 4: Like that.
- 35:36Speaker 7: Guy, that's my guy. I did nothing in this movie,
- 35:39Speaker 7: but he's the dude for me.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Why do you like Tim Blake Nelson so much? I
- 35:43Speaker 3: agree with you, But is there something that you really
- 35:45Speaker 3: love him from that maybe fall in love with them?
- 35:49Speaker 7: I actually respect I think he picks really good character
- 35:52Speaker 7: and I'm not going to include heavyweights, but like the
- 35:54Speaker 7: old brother character.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Was just like I loved him.
- 35:57Speaker 7: Yeah, role de Yeah, I've seen him be slimy, I've
- 36:02Speaker 7: seen him be genuine and earnest. I've seen you know, like.
- 36:06Speaker 7: I also like the tambour of his voice for some reason, He's.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Got a cool, void singing voice.
- 36:12Speaker 4: Yes.
- 36:13Speaker 3: In the Ballad of Buster scrugs. So, dude, that's fun.
- 36:19Speaker 3: That's a fun pick.
- 36:21Speaker 4: I like it. That's a great one. Jesse. Who'd you
- 36:23Speaker 4: have for your dude?
- 36:26Speaker 8: I don't.
- 36:26Speaker 10: I forgot to look up his real name, but it
- 36:29Speaker 10: is Sam, one of the boys, Sam who had the
- 36:33Speaker 10: jeled's hair spikes straight up.
- 36:36Speaker 7: He had big example.
- 36:38Speaker 10: It was like every scene, it's like the focus on
- 36:40Speaker 10: the scene.
- 36:41Speaker 8: And then there's Sam.
- 36:44Speaker 3: Joseph Wayne Miller him alone too.
- 36:47Speaker 7: He's in someone.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Has passed away.
- 36:53Speaker 3: I'm just I'm looking him up. I'm sorry to bring
- 36:55Speaker 3: it down. He was only in one other thing. He
- 36:58Speaker 3: was in You.
- 37:00Speaker 10: He was the kid like after the dance, it's like
- 37:03Speaker 10: they're all sad, and then he gives a slow kiss
- 37:06Speaker 10: to the girl with him. He's the kid salami strapped
- 37:10Speaker 10: to his body when they were all doing the like
- 37:13Speaker 10: download of all the food, every single thing. And then
- 37:20Speaker 10: he calls himself Salami Sam before he like jumps in
- 37:22Speaker 10: the water when Lars is like pushing everybody in the water.
- 37:25Speaker 10: Like it was just all these little lines here and
- 37:28Speaker 10: there that I'm like.
- 37:29Speaker 8: God, that kid steals this and he looks like just
- 37:33Speaker 8: a normal little guy like I just so he was
- 37:36Speaker 8: my career. I thought he stole like every and it's mostly.
- 37:39Speaker 10: Facials, like I feel like, I think he probably had
- 37:41Speaker 10: less than ten lines in the whole probably, but he
- 37:44Speaker 10: was my favorite part of like cackled every time.
- 37:46Speaker 3: He came in, for sure, more than Tim Blake Nelson
- 37:49Speaker 3: did well, right, Yeah, totally fair. You guys picked really
- 37:57Speaker 3: fun dudes. I went more low hanging fruit and took
- 38:01Speaker 3: Ben Stiller as Tony Purkis. I know, I figured you
- 38:06Speaker 3: would think that this is your favorite Ben Stiller. I
- 38:13Speaker 3: saw someone had a theory that Tony Purkis is the
- 38:17Speaker 3: same character as White Goodman from Dodgeball.
- 38:21Speaker 4: Was super super.
- 38:23Speaker 7: Being honest, right, But.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Their whole thing was that he was so humiliated from
- 38:28Speaker 3: his time at Camp Hope he reinvented himself as White
- 38:32Speaker 3: Goodman and used his dad's money to help get global,
- 38:37Speaker 3: which is kind of a fun little theory that, yeah,
- 38:43Speaker 3: he was yeah, so he was so funny in that,
- 38:46Speaker 3: but yeah, super silly in this had some really funny moments,
- 38:50Speaker 3: and it is not my favorite of his roles, but
- 38:53Speaker 3: he was very, very good.
- 38:55Speaker 4: What do you think your favorite is?
- 38:56Speaker 6: What is your favorite?
- 38:58Speaker 3: Oh?
- 38:58Speaker 4: Lord, that's how I'm sorry I shouldn't put you. I'm
- 39:01Speaker 4: sorry I should put you here?
- 39:02Speaker 3: Yeah, why did you do this to me?
- 39:04Speaker 4: He's rid of me?
- 39:08Speaker 3: Yeah? Maybe in Anchorman when he's when he has his
- 39:12Speaker 3: little stuck out pretty great.
- 39:15Speaker 4: My second might be happy, go more. I don't know.
- 39:17Speaker 3: He's pretty cool good.
- 39:19Speaker 4: Yes, yes, you's gonna hurt because you just boiled landscaping.
- 39:23Speaker 4: But you know, he's probably Zoolander.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Probably, he's so funny.
- 39:27Speaker 4: He's so good.
- 39:28Speaker 7: Why I think of what he is in Anchorman?
- 39:31Speaker 3: Oh, because he's in it less than Tim Blake Nelson is.
- 39:35Speaker 4: One just one team basically, right.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Yeah, he's just in that fight.
- 39:41Speaker 7: Yeah, like the big fight when they all meet, right.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like the Telemundo.
- 39:50Speaker 4: Twenty or something.
- 39:52Speaker 3: Yeah, but anyway, who's your dude? Mugs?
- 39:57Speaker 4: I also picked Ben Stiller as and they said I
- 40:01Speaker 4: think he's wonderful. I just think he's so wonderfully unhinged.
- 40:05Speaker 4: In this movie, and it really cracks me up how
- 40:08Speaker 4: much he hates himself, how stupid he is, but also
- 40:12Speaker 4: just looks so certain he's right, like emails that in
- 40:16Speaker 4: a lot of his characters. I feel like, but I
- 40:19Speaker 4: just loved him in this. I thought he was so
- 40:21Speaker 4: funny and then vulnerable and then you know, kind of
- 40:25Speaker 4: conniving when he makes the little chocolate out of the
- 40:28Speaker 4: tinfoil and tricks the kid. He does hit a child.
- 40:32Speaker 4: That's not great, but you know, do we can?
- 40:36Speaker 7: I the briefness of his athletics was to be noted.
- 40:41Speaker 3: He's very fit.
- 40:44Speaker 10: Yeah, I just second BU because I'm thinking you needed
- 40:46Speaker 10: such a good job in it, because especially that scene
- 40:48Speaker 10: where he just appears in the window and he's just
- 40:53Speaker 10: so Again this is like like we're all saying, like
- 40:56Speaker 10: this child movie, and he is acting the show out
- 41:00Speaker 10: of that scene and then he's walking on glass and
- 41:03Speaker 10: like they're it's just he's I was so impressed by him,
- 41:07Speaker 10: and I kind of forgot how good he isn't it.
- 41:10Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 41:10Speaker 8: I feel like they always say, like you hear actors
- 41:12Speaker 8: be like there's such.
- 41:13Speaker 10: A fine line between like like, uh, what am I.
- 41:16Speaker 7: Trying to say?
- 41:17Speaker 10: Comedy and drama, and I just feel like.
- 41:20Speaker 8: That his character is like such a good example of that.
- 41:22Speaker 10: Like it was so unwildly funny, but then it's crazy
- 41:26Speaker 10: and like very dramatic if you like darken the lights
- 41:28Speaker 10: and like made.
- 41:29Speaker 8: It be a whole different movie for sure.
- 41:32Speaker 4: And also like he's so willing to make himself look
- 41:36Speaker 4: awful when he hits on the lady and all that,
- 41:39Speaker 4: it's like it's just the cringiest stuff in the world.
- 41:43Speaker 4: It's wonderful. I love it for.
- 41:48Speaker 3: Great. Well, let's uh, let's go in and pick the
- 41:51Speaker 3: Tucci Ward. It's our it's the other people in the movie.
- 41:54Speaker 4: Let's go to the Tucci Award to Gi. Y'all went
- 41:59Speaker 4: kind of Tucci is before. I love it, so letting
- 42:01Speaker 4: it for these Uh, Jesse, why don't you go first
- 42:04Speaker 4: on this one?
- 42:05Speaker 8: Yes? I do, because I did. I chose a smaller character.
- 42:09Speaker 10: Uh, but this one, I'm giving it to Ben Stiller's wig.
- 42:13Speaker 8: That the way he like moved his head and it
- 42:16Speaker 8: was always moving the whole entire time.
- 42:18Speaker 6: I'm like, that's totally a part.
- 42:20Speaker 8: It's its own separate part.
- 42:22Speaker 6: And the headband and the running I think when he's
- 42:24Speaker 6: running and.
- 42:25Speaker 8: It's like flopping all around.
- 42:27Speaker 10: So I have to give that as an actual Tucci
- 42:29Speaker 10: war because I was so distracted by that, and I
- 42:30Speaker 10: thought it was such a part of him because he
- 42:34Speaker 10: was one of my.
- 42:34Speaker 8: Other favorite parts of it like that.
- 42:36Speaker 10: And then I do want to also say for me
- 42:39Speaker 10: was Josh.
- 42:41Speaker 8: I think it's just so good like this mob Bob.
- 42:44Speaker 8: Yeah that's Goldbirds.
- 42:45Speaker 10: It's like mob boss kid like preteen like walking into
- 42:50Speaker 10: his jackets, sweat like Tony Sopranosh kind of character I
- 42:54Speaker 10: just love.
- 42:54Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 42:55Speaker 10: I thought he was hilarious and always kills in all
- 42:57Speaker 10: those kid.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Movies, always kill Yeah, Sean, Yes, that's right.
- 43:04Speaker 7: I looked him up. I was like just googling the
- 43:07Speaker 7: heck out of this movie with people.
- 43:09Speaker 3: I looked him up.
- 43:09Speaker 7: And it's a tough modern day, is what I'm gonna say.
- 43:14Speaker 4: Well, I think he had some issues, some like substance
- 43:19Speaker 4: things and things. Is that right? So yep, he's doing
- 43:22Speaker 4: better now. It sounds like for the little bit I
- 43:25Speaker 4: heard some podcasts or something he was on or someone
- 43:27Speaker 4: was talking about. Yeah, yeah, it's he looks different now
- 43:31Speaker 4: for sure, Yeah for sure, But I love him.
- 43:35Speaker 3: I think the same.
- 43:37Speaker 8: Yeah, crack me up for sure.
- 43:39Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, great, pick uh slam what you got for
- 43:43Speaker 4: your titch?
- 43:45Speaker 7: My twitches and Mirra.
- 43:47Speaker 4: Oh love that fun Yeah.
- 43:50Speaker 7: I don't know why. I just love her and I
- 43:53Speaker 7: love her and him together.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Of course they're the cutest.
- 43:56Speaker 7: They're just cute, and they do stuff together in the industry,
- 44:00Speaker 7: and they clearly like being around each other, and they're
- 44:03Speaker 7: always just like so great. I love her her New
- 44:08Speaker 7: York version, her version of the New York accent, like
- 44:12Speaker 7: it's it's classic. I just I think she's great and
- 44:16Speaker 7: everything she does, so she's my teach.
- 44:19Speaker 3: I love that.
- 44:20Speaker 4: Love that.
- 44:22Speaker 3: I went to tie between Keenan Thompson and Sean Weiss.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Hell yeah, both Mighty Ducks alumni. They're both funny. They
- 44:31Speaker 3: just they both shine on camera. They were so charismatic
- 44:35Speaker 3: as just young people and very impressive.
- 44:39Speaker 4: I love that. That's Great's Keenan the biggest star in
- 44:43Speaker 4: this movie at the time, I mean close.
- 44:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean Ben Stiller hadn't even realized.
- 44:49Speaker 8: He wasn't right, it was like a second, first or
- 44:51Speaker 8: second movie.
- 44:52Speaker 3: He was was early early Ben Stiller.
- 44:55Speaker 4: I guess Jerry Stiller maybe you know and and yeah,
- 45:00Speaker 4: you know.
- 45:00Speaker 10: Uh, who's the guy, what is his name who was.
- 45:05Speaker 8: This like the thin camp counselor. He's been in a
- 45:11Speaker 8: ton of stuff.
- 45:12Speaker 10: I feel like he was probably more of a star
- 45:14Speaker 10: than I think, unless it was early Paul Feek.
- 45:17Speaker 4: I don't know either. Yeah, it's funny because he's gone
- 45:20Speaker 4: kind of behind the scenes now, right, Like, yeah, I
- 45:23Speaker 4: think directs and all that stuff. I guess, so the Stiller,
- 45:27Speaker 4: I guess to be fair, like, yeah.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Didn't he do like Bridesmaids? And he does a bunch
- 45:34Speaker 3: of yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely, yeah.
- 45:39Speaker 4: I love that.
- 45:40Speaker 12: Uh.
- 45:41Speaker 4: Just Jerry Steeler is just the best also, so let's
- 45:44Speaker 4: just shout him out too. I love him so much,
- 45:46Speaker 4: so great, And when he is like hysterically crying and yelling,
- 45:57Speaker 4: he's just so He's so so good.
- 45:59Speaker 3: I love him so much.
- 46:01Speaker 4: I also want to shout out Tom Hodges, who plays
- 46:03Speaker 4: Lars in this movie. It's hysterical and like a much
- 46:10Speaker 4: funnier character than I remember when I was a kid,
- 46:12Speaker 4: because you kind of like he's a little bit more
- 46:15Speaker 4: in on the joke I think than I realized when
- 46:17Speaker 4: I was a kid, and I just I loved it
- 46:20Speaker 4: a lot. I just thought he was so great and
- 46:22Speaker 4: he was also so Cringey when he was hitting on
- 46:26Speaker 4: the nurse. She was great too, what uh leah lale.
- 46:33Speaker 4: She doesn't get to do a lot in this movie,
- 46:36Speaker 4: but she didn't. I didn't like her. I kept thinking,
- 46:41Speaker 4: especially on the rewatch, like, can we give her some personality?
- 46:45Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Yeah, they're just like and there's a lady.
- 46:49Speaker 4: It's cool, don't worry about it.
- 46:50Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a lady.
- 46:53Speaker 6: I think that's kind of standard for the times too.
- 46:55Speaker 3: So unfortunately fair, Yeah, very very fair.
- 46:58Speaker 4: That is fair.
- 46:59Speaker 3: One thing I was interested in Alan Covert, who's in
- 47:02Speaker 3: all the Adam Sandler movies. I never knew he was
- 47:05Speaker 3: in stuff.
- 47:10Speaker 4: Either. Yeah, yeah, that's great.
- 47:11Speaker 7: He's always got that fearing.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, you're right. Yeah. Jeffrey Tambar too was pretty
- 47:20Speaker 4: I got.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Some really funny lines in this.
- 47:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:24Speaker 3: He made me laugh quite a bit.
- 47:27Speaker 4: Yeah. He says when they're looking at the photos or whatever,
- 47:30Speaker 4: he's like, Jesus, anyway, it looks so mean.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really great.
- 47:37Speaker 4: You know. That was all the people I had though
- 47:39Speaker 4: for the Tuch love it. Should we go on and
- 47:42Speaker 4: talk about our favorite scene? Shall we name the Dugas?
- 47:45Speaker 3: The dingis is quite simple, really, dingusings.
- 47:50Speaker 4: I can talk about my dingas all day long. Okay,
- 47:54Speaker 4: why don't you go first with your d I.
- 47:55Speaker 7: Didn't pick favorite scene. I picked the scene that I
- 47:59Speaker 7: commented did outwardly the most on when I was watching
- 48:03Speaker 7: No Good Reason. It was the scream that precedes them
- 48:07Speaker 7: turning around to see the deer licking.
- 48:12Speaker 3: Oh when they tie him up.
- 48:16Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 48:16Speaker 7: Yeah, it was just like that moment because I again
- 48:19Speaker 7: I haven't seen I've never watched the movie like engaged watching,
- 48:24Speaker 7: so I was like, Oh, what's it going to be?
- 48:26Speaker 7: And then I was like, it's a little deer and
- 48:28Speaker 7: then he was.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Like I'm being licked by a little deer.
- 48:31Speaker 7: I was like, that's why, how did that happen? Immediately,
- 48:34Speaker 7: That's there's a lot going on. And then like kids
- 48:38Speaker 7: thought to like cover him in honey, like he's working
- 48:42Speaker 7: out like the kid brain on that one too. Yeah,
- 48:47Speaker 7: just call that one out good pic, how about you?
- 48:51Speaker 4: Jesse?
- 48:52Speaker 8: Mine was the dance scene. I love that scene.
- 48:56Speaker 10: It's one of those moments again I feel like I
- 49:00Speaker 10: just like just that age is so funny and it's
- 49:03Speaker 10: so real how they're all separated.
- 49:04Speaker 8: It's super awkward.
- 49:06Speaker 10: There was also like a cringey joke made by the girls,
- 49:09Speaker 10: a bolimia.
- 49:09Speaker 8: Joke, like, shere's all those moments right.
- 49:14Speaker 10: Like again, I'm not saying I like condone those, but
- 49:16Speaker 10: I just like the awkwardness and like the reality of
- 49:19Speaker 10: it all like that.
- 49:20Speaker 8: Stuffs still like I don't know.
- 49:22Speaker 10: And so she them being parted, one of the girls
- 49:26Speaker 10: walking across and they're all like it's happening.
- 49:28Speaker 6: Then she's like, can I use the bathroom or where's
- 49:30Speaker 6: the bathroom?
- 49:31Speaker 8: And they're all just like And then.
- 49:33Speaker 10: When I'm forgetting his name, the guy starts dancing. It's
- 49:36Speaker 10: just some heartfelt and they all kind of loosen up,
- 49:38Speaker 10: and then Pat starts dancing and they all dance.
- 49:42Speaker 3: I love it.
- 49:42Speaker 10: And then again Sam at the end, they're all like stop,
- 49:45Speaker 10: everyone's frozen, and he just leans in for a slow
- 49:48Speaker 10: kiss with that surgeon.
- 49:51Speaker 8: It's just perfect.
- 49:53Speaker 7: And I hate that freeze. My kids are saying it
- 50:03Speaker 7: and I.
- 50:04Speaker 8: Can't believe I just said that.
- 50:08Speaker 7: I'm so upsets.
- 50:14Speaker 4: Like me as well.
- 50:16Speaker 3: Ter I hated that.
- 50:17Speaker 4: Oh god, yeah, I'm sorry I am.
- 50:23Speaker 6: It was just a good, happy, happy moment.
- 50:26Speaker 3: Yeah, that was cute. I put down. When Jerry first
- 50:31Speaker 3: arrives and meets Pat and we realize that these kids
- 50:34Speaker 3: are excited to be there, and then it's not going
- 50:37Speaker 3: to be this scary experience where they get starved or something.
- 50:41Speaker 3: The kids are all funny and they have a good
- 50:43Speaker 3: relationship with Pat, and I thought that was great. I
- 50:46Speaker 3: was like, oh, Okay, this is going to be different
- 50:48Speaker 3: than what I was expecting it to be sure, and
- 50:51Speaker 3: I enjoyed it.
- 50:51Speaker 10: I feel bad that you thought we were so excited
- 50:54Speaker 10: to watch this movie that would just tear apart little boys.
- 50:58Speaker 8: And I'm really sorry thought at the monster. I keep
- 51:02Speaker 8: thinking about that. I'm like, I'm really sorry you thought.
- 51:05Speaker 10: That, because yes, there's jokes in there, but oh my god.
- 51:08Speaker 3: No, Yeah, I've been judging you guys for some time.
- 51:13Speaker 4: After this movie. I was a fat little boy. What
- 51:16Speaker 4: are we talking about?
- 51:19Speaker 8: I just pictured, Yeah, we're all like I can't wait to.
- 51:21Speaker 3: Talk about I guess these kids.
- 51:28Speaker 7: Can I say something?
- 51:29Speaker 13: And I don't, like, maybe I don't know if I
- 51:31Speaker 13: should say this, but like, also, overall, they didn't seem
- 51:36Speaker 13: like they were grotesquely overweight.
- 51:39Speaker 7: To marrit being pursue a camp and be like, we're
- 51:44Speaker 7: just used to a different, a different metric right now,
- 51:47Speaker 7: but like I.
- 51:48Speaker 14: Was looking at them, I'm like, Okay, maybe you know,
- 51:50Speaker 14: you would feel a little bit better with a couple
- 51:53Speaker 14: of fewer pounds. But like nobody was was like, oh
- 51:57Speaker 14: my god, my six hundred pound sister or whatever.
- 51:59Speaker 4: That show is like right, Also, like none of these
- 52:03Speaker 4: kids have gone through puberty or hit a girls spurt, so.
- 52:05Speaker 10: It's like gonna look like you know, it was the nineties,
- 52:10Speaker 10: people were on like liquid diets, crazy tech.
- 52:15Speaker 4: No.
- 52:15Speaker 3: I totally agree that.
- 52:16Speaker 4: I was like, oh, these kids are all pretty pretty normal.
- 52:20Speaker 4: I feel like I remember thinking that as a kid too,
- 52:22Speaker 4: being like, well, I guess I guess I would go
- 52:24Speaker 4: to fat camp. Okay.
- 52:27Speaker 7: Four.
- 52:30Speaker 10: I just remember Huskies was like an actual sat I
- 52:32Speaker 10: remember like there would be like pants and shirt.
- 52:35Speaker 3: Dude, Benny Ellich talks about that all the time. He
- 52:38Speaker 3: was always in the Huskies.
- 52:40Speaker 4: We've got some stuff to work out with that, which
- 52:46Speaker 4: I get. You have to start going into the men's sizes.
- 52:49Speaker 4: It's a whole thing. Mom, I'm ten, I know, but
- 52:53Speaker 4: you have the girth of the full adult. I'm sorry.
- 52:59Speaker 8: Character guys, the character.
- 53:02Speaker 4: I keep hoping I'll see that at some point. So much,
- 53:04Speaker 4: for sure, I love all those scenes. I also really
- 53:09Speaker 4: for mine. I picked the when Jerry is writing to
- 53:14Speaker 4: his grandma about how terrible the camp is scene me
- 53:19Speaker 4: up because it's kind of like the what was the thing?
- 53:23Speaker 4: It was Andrew Luck. They would do this. There was
- 53:27Speaker 4: a Twitter account for a while that would make him
- 53:29Speaker 4: into like a civil war general and he'd be like,
- 53:31Speaker 4: dearest Matha, I come to you now after a battle
- 53:35Speaker 4: it was terrible and long whatever.
- 53:37Speaker 3: Just because of his facial hand, because of his weird
- 53:40Speaker 3: beard that he had for a while or whatever, he
- 53:42Speaker 3: looked like an old man.
- 53:43Speaker 4: But the vibe of Jerry just being like, it's terrible, Grandma,
- 53:48Speaker 4: pray for me. So dramatic, but also it did suck
- 53:53Speaker 4: and it worked to move the plot ahead. It was
- 53:55Speaker 4: so funny. I loved that old scene. It was cracking
- 53:58Speaker 4: me up. And then the other one I but was.
- 54:01Speaker 4: I guess it's a combo of two, but it involves
- 54:03Speaker 4: the like the taping of the documentary, and the first
- 54:07Speaker 4: one is the first time we meet Tony and he's
- 54:10Speaker 4: just like so energetic and all these kids are just
- 54:13Speaker 4: not having it, you know, and he's like at one
- 54:15Speaker 4: point he's like, I see the future president of the
- 54:18Speaker 4: United States of America and he points at the English
- 54:20Speaker 4: kid and they're like, he's from England. And then there's
- 54:24Speaker 4: that one dude who is the biggest kid of them all,
- 54:27Speaker 4: like the tallest year. It was so sad but also
- 54:34Speaker 4: so funny. And then the spot where he's weighing them
- 54:38Speaker 4: after they've been sneaking snacks into the camp and he's like, Okay,
- 54:43Speaker 4: we gained a couple oounds, get out of here, let's go,
- 54:45Speaker 4: and there like he keeps trying to do, like all right,
- 54:47Speaker 4: next tank, all right, let's see Jerry Garner, how are
- 54:50Speaker 4: you all get out of here?
- 54:57Speaker 3: I wanted to know.
- 54:58Speaker 7: Like what was the duration of time?
- 55:01Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 55:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 55:05Speaker 10: The last one I think is the last one I
- 55:07Speaker 10: think is Josh and he gets out. He's like get
- 55:09Speaker 10: on this, get on the scale, and he's like get
- 55:11Speaker 10: off the scale like comedian.
- 55:13Speaker 4: So I love that scene so much where he's just
- 55:16Speaker 4: he's just trying to sell it for the camera and
- 55:18Speaker 4: he's like I hate you guys again. Yeah it's wonderful,
- 55:23Speaker 4: But yeah, I like that. Any other scenes anyone feels
- 55:28Speaker 4: like we need to bring up.
- 55:29Speaker 3: The other one I put down was when they all
- 55:31Speaker 3: revealed that they snuck in candy.
- 55:38Speaker 8: Licking off his stomach.
- 55:42Speaker 7: I did like that, and again.
- 55:47Speaker 10: Sam has salami on them, like it's just so creative.
- 55:52Speaker 4: I love the download. That's really funny.
- 55:55Speaker 10: When they sneak into Tony's place to like rifle through
- 55:59Speaker 10: all this stuff is great.
- 56:01Speaker 8: And then he comes back and they're.
- 56:02Speaker 10: Hoisting these boys out the window, and then the one
- 56:05Speaker 10: like let's out gas and.
- 56:08Speaker 8: That whole thing. I'm like, this is ridiculous.
- 56:10Speaker 3: I love it.
- 56:12Speaker 7: I will say the scene where Josh pranks him. They
- 56:18Speaker 7: hold him down to do this sit up and Josh
- 56:21Speaker 7: by pulling. I was like, man, the angle the ben
- 56:25Speaker 7: Stiller was coming from a particular mood. That's a toughie.
- 56:31Speaker 7: I'm not like seeing some top crack. That's all. I
- 56:44Speaker 7: haven't heard that one gen Z and alpha terminology right now,
- 56:51Speaker 7: that's what.
- 56:53Speaker 8: Do you want from? I was just like, man, mini map,
- 57:01Speaker 8: I think my favorite.
- 57:02Speaker 4: I love something about a toilet.
- 57:04Speaker 7: I love toilet.
- 57:06Speaker 10: I loved Lars tied to the tree. And then when
- 57:08Speaker 10: the kid like decks him in the crash. Yeah, and
- 57:10Speaker 10: then when he's like strutting out on when they're all
- 57:13Speaker 10: swimming or whatever and he's like, don't pee in the water.
- 57:15Speaker 8: And he's like, don't drink the water. He just bet
- 57:18Speaker 8: and and then he sees the nurse and he like
- 57:20Speaker 8: shoves all the kids off the deck.
- 57:22Speaker 7: I was like, that's classic.
- 57:24Speaker 4: Misju Misjuly just like that.
- 57:28Speaker 7: He was like, don't worry, I have them all trained,
- 57:33Speaker 7: and they did it like they were.
- 57:35Speaker 3: All like buddy.
- 57:35Speaker 8: He's like, job stupid though, like what.
- 57:41Speaker 4: I also love the scene where they come back to
- 57:43Speaker 4: untie him and they're like, are you going to be
- 57:46Speaker 4: nice and play along? And he's like, yes, I want
- 57:48Speaker 4: to thank you. It's so nice.
- 57:51Speaker 7: I do love the I think it's Sam or yeah, Sam,
- 57:54Speaker 7: I think this is I'm not sure if this is
- 57:56Speaker 7: the character, but he gets real close as they're untying him. Yeah,
- 58:00Speaker 7: like you know what I learned? Where did you learn
- 58:03Speaker 7: the fact that you're about to say you'll get deported
- 58:06Speaker 7: if you aren't employed? I was like, what, like law book?
- 58:10Speaker 7: Were you leaving in the interim that you're coming back
- 58:14Speaker 7: with that factory?
- 58:15Speaker 4: Like what, that's a lawyer?
- 58:19Speaker 7: So that's right.
- 58:23Speaker 4: I don't.
- 58:26Speaker 3: Very similar though, I can see you watch it though.
- 58:29Speaker 8: Only watch this character the entirety.
- 58:31Speaker 7: He's great, blonde hair and the like taller shoved up
- 58:37Speaker 7: like it's it's jelled, and he's the one who whispers
- 58:40Speaker 7: the deportation thing.
- 58:42Speaker 6: I don't I.
- 58:46Speaker 4: Don't remember either.
- 58:47Speaker 7: No, I don't even I think he was actually in
- 58:51Speaker 7: I thought he was in home alone.
- 58:53Speaker 4: I mean, oh, you're talking about the other he's another
- 58:57Speaker 4: he's one of the kids that used to go there
- 58:58Speaker 4: that's now counselor. Yeah, what is that dude's name?
- 59:02Speaker 8: Oh, yes, he was in the Mighty Ducks too.
- 59:05Speaker 10: I think I think he was was or like or
- 59:09Speaker 10: maybe that football like Little Giants or something.
- 59:11Speaker 8: Yeah, he's got like the crew cut.
- 59:14Speaker 7: Yeah he's at older.
- 59:16Speaker 6: I don't remember him.
- 59:17Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 59:19Speaker 3: I forgot about him him quick, but I thought.
- 59:21Speaker 7: That's what we were talking about this whole time, and
- 59:23Speaker 7: so that other kids.
- 59:23Speaker 6: No, I don't think.
- 59:26Speaker 7: No, No, that's crazy to me. Let me talk about
- 59:29Speaker 7: one more crazy this person, isn't. I spent a solid
- 59:33Speaker 7: five minutes thinking that Miss Julie was one of the
- 59:37Speaker 7: two supporting actresses from Beakman's World. So first of all,
- 59:42Speaker 7: everybody go in your brains to Beakman's World, have to.
- 59:49Speaker 8: I don't know what that is.
- 59:51Speaker 7: It's that show with a scientist of like a mad science.
- 59:56Speaker 4: I never watched the dude with the rat. The rat
- 59:59Speaker 4: was freaking and I was.
- 1:00:01Speaker 7: Like, was she like literally a fold of my brain?
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: It doesn't look like that lady, right.
- 1:00:07Speaker 7: And I like Beakman's world.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: Was she just funny? Because that lady has been in
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: a number of things that she's hilarious.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: She's really good. She is so funny.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: Last night and waiting.
- 1:00:26Speaker 7: All of that.
- 1:00:27Speaker 8: Oh, I don't know even what that is.
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: I forgot about that. That's great.
- 1:00:32Speaker 7: That's a tough one.
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: Yeah, what are we doing there?
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: All the things we all picked different scenes?
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: Yeah, so there's lots of little.
- 1:00:44Speaker 8: Can I shout out Ben Stiller's acting one more time?
- 1:00:46Speaker 8: I got a kick out of yes.
- 1:00:49Speaker 10: When they lock him in the bar that like shed
- 1:00:53Speaker 10: barn thing and he's in that cage and he's.
- 1:00:56Speaker 8: Taunting Nicholas the.
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: Treat.
- 1:01:02Speaker 8: I just feel like it's so I feel like this
- 1:01:05Speaker 8: movie cracked me up.
- 1:01:05Speaker 10: So much because it was such a clear like evil
- 1:01:08Speaker 10: character and like they do heroically win in the end,
- 1:01:11Speaker 10: and I feel like a lot of kids movies nowadays
- 1:01:13Speaker 10: it's like this. I've heard people say this to and
- 1:01:16Speaker 10: I agree, where it's like you're you're your worst, You're
- 1:01:19Speaker 10: your evil, like you're your worst nightmare, and it's like
- 1:01:22Speaker 10: give a crazy man an evil character and like call
- 1:01:25Speaker 10: it a day. And like, I thought it was so
- 1:01:27Speaker 10: good in that where he's tied up and he's like
- 1:01:29Speaker 10: freaking out with the tape.
- 1:01:30Speaker 8: I just was like, this is this is great.
- 1:01:32Speaker 10: I think it made it funnier to me because it
- 1:01:34Speaker 10: was so extreme.
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: Nice that it's not a Pixar movie and my parents
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: had to die, you know.
- 1:01:41Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, Like I just think it was like the
- 1:01:45Speaker 8: bad guy gets in, you know, it's in trouble, and.
- 1:01:50Speaker 7: I just liked that he was like the kid was
- 1:01:52Speaker 7: like throw it here, and he was like I can't.
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: It'll smoosh, like what wing Man is like, it'll smooth.
- 1:02:01Speaker 8: I do.
- 1:02:01Speaker 10: I saw I saw Benstiller talk about it and he's
- 1:02:04Speaker 10: like there was a bit quite a bit of like.
- 1:02:06Speaker 8: Improv and stuff. And I just wish there were more.
- 1:02:09Speaker 10: I tried to find like groopers or like second you know,
- 1:02:12Speaker 10: because I think it would have been hilarious to hear
- 1:02:15Speaker 10: more of the outtakes and things.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: But yeah, can I mention one last scene that I loved,
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: especially as a kid, Yep, after they take him hostage
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: or whatever, and they have their giant like Bachanalli party
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: scene with all the kids. They're eating stuff, they're spraying
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: chocolate sauce. As a kid, I was like, that's the
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: life right there. That is a party.
- 1:02:42Speaker 10: I also appreciate that scene. I feel like a perfectly.
- 1:02:45Speaker 8: Timed toot sound ye just annihilate me.
- 1:02:50Speaker 10: And it's like they're all groaning, they're all hungover, and
- 1:02:53Speaker 10: it's like the camera's spanning all these little these kids like.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: And you just hear, yeah, amazing, the best, good call,
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: the best, that's the highest for us.
- 1:03:05Speaker 11: High.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: I'm with you.
- 1:03:09Speaker 8: You're in the right mood for it.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: Oh my god, there's I'm never not in a mood
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: that always. Yes, that's a very good call.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: I love that. Well, they're all the dings.
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: I don't know so many dingus.
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: Is all over this movie. It's crazy. Let's go talk
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: about our favorite quote. It's time to show me the Jesse.
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: You want to do a couple first, some Sure, there's.
- 1:03:42Speaker 10: One that made me scream, but I don't really want
- 1:03:45Speaker 10: to say it.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: Oh no, interesting, you want one of.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: Us to say it.
- 1:03:50Speaker 6: Well, it just says the word loads in it.
- 1:03:51Speaker 8: That's why I thought it was funny, guys. Well it's
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: a part. It's like the.
- 1:03:59Speaker 10: Beginning when they're showing Jerry the camp video and Jerry
- 1:04:04Speaker 10: does Jerry.
- 1:04:05Speaker 8: Doesn't want to go to the camp.
- 1:04:08Speaker 10: He says, I'm not going to go to a camp
- 1:04:09Speaker 10: with a bunch of fat loads.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: I also love that, but we didn't know what you
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: meant to say fat loads.
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: That's a real I don't know.
- 1:04:27Speaker 8: Talking about the kids.
- 1:04:29Speaker 10: Like he's watching the video and it's all like, look
- 1:04:31Speaker 10: at the school camp, and then he starts to realize
- 1:04:33Speaker 10: it's like a weight loss.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: Camp, right.
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: I do love that. Immediately after that, he turns to
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: his dad and he's like, you're fatter than I am.
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: What a you go to the camp.
- 1:04:43Speaker 10: It's also you just don't speak like that.
- 1:04:48Speaker 8: So then it's just like, oh my god, oh my god.
- 1:04:52Speaker 8: But it's the word loads load.
- 1:04:54Speaker 10: Load is one of my favorite words word in the
- 1:04:56Speaker 10: English Dictionary, and I.
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: Forgot he's in context, and I was wondering where I
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: missed it.
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: Anyway, I feel like any way you use load is funny,
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: Like I feel like a load.
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: Okay, there is you do have that on the record.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: She's done right now.
- 1:05:26Speaker 8: We lost her an inside joke for just.
- 1:05:32Speaker 10: When we were in Cabaret and it was the goofy
- 1:05:35Speaker 10: movie song.
- 1:05:37Speaker 8: And Kelly would sing weird, it would sing weary, load
- 1:05:42Speaker 8: sold loud. It was on the open.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: Road, so she's dying. We lost.
- 1:05:52Speaker 8: I'm so sorry. It's not calling anybody. That's just load.
- 1:05:58Speaker 8: I feel like I have a few I love. Stam
- 1:06:01Speaker 8: calls himself. He says, watch out for salami jump.
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: Fun.
- 1:06:13Speaker 8: Oh, there's so many perkis, purpose ones. Oh I wrote
- 1:06:18Speaker 8: what okay, somebody.
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: Else need to give you a second, We'll go to slam. Wow.
- 1:06:29Speaker 10: Wow, okay, there's so many Oh my god.
- 1:06:37Speaker 7: So a quote that I just appreciated because I didn't
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: remember the moment when I think it was like the
- 1:06:45Speaker 7: kids first see nurse Julie and two of the kids
- 1:06:51Speaker 7: still going. Two of the kids are talking to each
- 1:06:55Speaker 7: other and they're like, did you see the new nurse?
- 1:06:57Speaker 7: And Josh says, and I was cringing. I was right.
- 1:07:00Speaker 7: So I was thinking if it were twenty twenty five,
- 1:07:02Speaker 7: it would have been the most disgusting comment. But Josh
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: just goes.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: This pleases me, and that was awesome.
- 1:07:09Speaker 7: It said every like it was so complimentary and not
- 1:07:13Speaker 7: like pig behavior like it was just like, all right, Josh,
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: you're you're a real one, dude. So I just was, yeah,
- 1:07:20Speaker 7: props for that. I did chuckle whenever, I guess it's
- 1:07:26Speaker 7: not a quote, it's more of a scene. I'm sorry,
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: whenever they fake, like when they're on the bus and
- 1:07:30Speaker 7: he fakes them out that they're going to go into
- 1:07:32Speaker 7: the drive room. And I also thought that was such
- 1:07:35Speaker 7: a sweet moment where they were all like, oh okay,
- 1:07:38Speaker 7: but we understand, like it wasn't like a cruel like
- 1:07:42Speaker 7: you're not getting McDonald's fat kids, Like, it was just
- 1:07:44Speaker 7: this like we're not doing that today, like gotcha. I
- 1:07:48Speaker 7: like that. And then I did like Ben Stiller's quote,
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: oh look DEALI meat.
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: Such a right?
- 1:08:00Speaker 7: Those are those are my Jesse? Can you breathe?
- 1:08:04Speaker 8: Yeah? Can I say one real quick? And he talks
- 1:08:08Speaker 8: to himself.
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: Where he's like, how are you doing, Tony?
- 1:08:11Speaker 8: How are you doing little Tony bad?
- 1:08:14Speaker 10: And he's like talking to himself back and forth, like
- 1:08:16Speaker 10: having this little like therapy discussion with this like little Tony.
- 1:08:22Speaker 8: That one cracked me up a lot.
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: That's great, It is great.
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: Did you have any other ones?
- 1:08:27Speaker 8: I feel?
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:08:28Speaker 10: I also just like when he says, I eat success
- 1:08:30Speaker 10: for breakfast with skim milk and like.
- 1:08:36Speaker 8: Those are my big ones.
- 1:08:37Speaker 7: I like that. That's a jup. That's how theme though,
- 1:08:39Speaker 7: because what is that doing? Madison?
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that's so Shooter mcgavit. Yes, I wrote some down
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: the attention campers lunch has been canceled due to lack
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: of hustle.
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: Deal with it, So deal.
- 1:09:01Speaker 7: With the deal with the best part of that pretty great.
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: So they get him with the Seymour butts. Butts. Nobody's
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: seen more butts than you, Uncle Tony. It's pretty good.
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: Also, right after that, he's like, you put the wrong
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: man mes. Yeah, yeah, that's great.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: When they're doing their run, at one point, Ben s
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: Tiller just goes, come here, you devil log and for
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: whatever reason, that really got so good. What else did
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: I like? Oh? After Tony Perks shows his video and
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: how he's going to change the camp, you just hear
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: one random kid, yo, I want to go home. I
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: love just a random weather. You don't even see them,
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: but it's just off camera. Oh I'm a sucker for that.
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: Same by for sure.
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: Jeffrey Tambour when his son is telling him how horrible
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: it is and He's like, well, I didn't send you
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: to go kart camp. I thought that was pretty funny.
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: Thanks Dad, And I will say one of the worst
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: lines of all time is when he says crazy about
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: my gal, just like, oh, it was just fringy and horrible.
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: We all liked it.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: Sure, oh I hated it.
- 1:10:35Speaker 7: So question about that moment. Did it feel uncomfortable? How
- 1:10:41Speaker 7: much Jerry the child actor looked like Pat the adult
- 1:10:45Speaker 7: actor in Like's future.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: Definitely?
- 1:10:48Speaker 7: I just kept thinking it, like, yes, wait, that's not
- 1:10:53Speaker 7: his actual dad.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: No, I think you know. They said they sent him
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: there because he had a weight problem. Really he was
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: being sent to the camp where his actual biological father worked,
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: and so they were No, I'm just kidding. They really
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: did look alike. For sure it did.
- 1:11:12Speaker 7: Child was like is this my future?
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: Like he was just like, oh, when do you have bigs?
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: Oh, let's see, we already said that. Hey, don't be
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: in the water. Don't drink the water. He peed in
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: it so so funny. Also that same I loved lur
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: so much, but he was like, now I must warn
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: you I have a severely deviated septum. When I sleep,
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: I make a very disturbing sound. Alarmed, and I can't
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: believe I never said that to you Rob at some
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: point when we were sleeping in the same room.
- 1:11:52Speaker 10: All delivery, I feel like everything he delivered was great.
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: It was so so good. So congratulations is mister Sims,
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: You're the fattest boy in camp. And then Gilbert goes,
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: all right, let's hear for Sims.
- 1:12:07Speaker 8: I love that part. I love that part.
- 1:12:10Speaker 4: I just loved that. He was like, yeah, I love
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: that we did it. Did you ever hear the story
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: of Icarus? He continued to roll the ball up the
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: hill was good, good stuff. Oh my god, let's see
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: that might be it.
- 1:12:34Speaker 8: I gotta say this.
- 1:12:36Speaker 10: This movie did so much like I thought. Just the
- 1:12:41Speaker 10: group chatter was very comical to me, where it'd be
- 1:12:44Speaker 10: like like they're all laughing, and it felt very like
- 1:12:47Speaker 10: stage laughter, like somebody just said laugh and then all
- 1:12:50Speaker 10: the guys are like or like the end, they literally
- 1:12:53Speaker 10: said hip hip hooray three times.
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: I was like, is has anyone ever done that ever
- 1:12:58Speaker 6: in real life?
- 1:12:59Speaker 8: Is that? It was like uncomfortable, but yeah, I was like,
- 1:13:04Speaker 8: that's hilarious. But there's a lot of that.
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: I really like the dialogue that was happening and I
- 1:13:09Speaker 7: forget what it's called. But like when they're they're doing
- 1:13:12Speaker 7: the ski thing with the little like yes bonnets on
- 1:13:16Speaker 7: their shoes.
- 1:13:17Speaker 8: Yea, Lars is like.
- 1:13:19Speaker 7: I'm feeling skinny, Tony. I just liked the like it
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: was unnecessary for them to talk so great.
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: Yeah, feeling skinny. Also when Josh comes back and he's like,
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: Josh was bad, Josh now good? Must be good to
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: see my big ass again.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: Oh yeah, when he's all weird. This guy he got
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: lo bottomized or something.
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, he put him through shock therapy or something. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: for sure.
- 1:13:52Speaker 10: I feel like my juvenile side always thinks of this.
- 1:13:56Speaker 6: I feel like he was making fun of Tony.
- 1:13:58Speaker 8: But when Jerry yells a loser with the skinny Wiener.
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: That was funny because what was he actually saying.
- 1:14:08Speaker 8: I don't remember.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: Skinny winners and yes, skinny winners, skinny wieners, That's not
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: what I said.
- 1:14:22Speaker 7: Like the Seymour butts is an insult, But how like
- 1:14:27Speaker 7: is seeing butts bad? Like I always like that quote,
- 1:14:31Speaker 7: like I seen more than you don't like, Depending on
- 1:14:35Speaker 7: what kind of butts you're into, maybe that's like that's
- 1:14:37Speaker 7: a notch in your your butt.
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: Build you know, honestly, I want to see them all.
- 1:14:40Speaker 7: You have a fetish, Yeah, every last book.
- 1:14:45Speaker 8: Oh my god, I wrote down.
- 1:14:46Speaker 10: I like googled the movie to see, like if there
- 1:14:49Speaker 10: was anything interesting about it, and they it said apparently
- 1:14:53Speaker 10: they were trying to do a different phrase. Instead of
- 1:14:56Speaker 10: Seymour Butts, they were trying to say Peter Fits.
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: I have that.
- 1:15:00Speaker 10: Yeah, it was like a fun fact that. But they
- 1:15:04Speaker 10: said I think it was Disney or something was like
- 1:15:06Speaker 10: that's more graphic or like dirty.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: So it's like, what is it like Peter Fitz.
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: You're right, so, Josh, anyone.
- 1:15:14Speaker 10: Anyone's Peter Fitz is what they wanted them to say.
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: He was going to ask Peter Fits, and then he
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: was gonna say anyone Anyone's Peter Fits if you push
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: hard enough, which is actually a pretty rough joke.
- 1:15:34Speaker 8: I also.
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: That's a good call. They switched.
- 1:15:38Speaker 8: Yeah. I meant to send this to you guys. It
- 1:15:41Speaker 8: popped up for me on Instagram the other day and
- 1:15:43Speaker 8: I meant to send it to today before we met.
- 1:15:45Speaker 10: But there was a cut scene and I was like, yeah,
- 1:15:47Speaker 10: that's gross because they're like adolescent boys, but they're talking
- 1:15:50Speaker 10: about there there's like a boner joke right before they
- 1:15:53Speaker 10: go in to see Nurse Julie.
- 1:15:54Speaker 8: I think, and.
- 1:15:56Speaker 10: They're like, oh, so I should send it to though,
- 1:15:58Speaker 10: because it's kind of like but it's just a cut scene.
- 1:16:00Speaker 8: It's also good they didn't do that one too. I think, sure,
- 1:16:03Speaker 8: it's pretty.
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: Girl, definitely send it though, for.
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: Sure.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: Well let's uh, let's keep on moving, let's do go
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: to bugs boohoo moments the crying game. I picked two,
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: but I don't know. I mean, you guys can let
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: me know if if you thought there were more. I
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: thought maybe when the Bushkins revealed they don't own the
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: camp anymore.
- 1:16:31Speaker 4: No, that didn't You would think it would, but it
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: didn't get me.
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: I did think its yeah, I mean, it gets funny.
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: And then hey, Pat, thanks for the best damn summer
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: of my life.
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: I did like that. Yeah, like that.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: That was pretty sweet?
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: Pretty sweet?
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: That was all I had. Did you guys think he
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: could have bahooed in any other spots?
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: I have a couple, Yeah, get me.
- 1:17:03Speaker 10: I have the sunset scene when he was like, uh,
- 1:17:08Speaker 10: Pat and Jerry are sitting in the dock at sunset,
- 1:17:12Speaker 10: and I feel like I feel like a damn this
- 1:17:15Speaker 10: is a heart.
- 1:17:15Speaker 8: There's like a harsh having a heart to heart, and.
- 1:17:19Speaker 10: I feel like Tony j like previously had just gone
- 1:17:22Speaker 10: into Pat, and so Pat says like I don't want
- 1:17:25Speaker 10: to just be the fat guy anymore or something, and
- 1:17:29Speaker 10: they're having like a beautiful moment really talking about it,
- 1:17:31Speaker 10: and then they like yell at the camp across the
- 1:17:33Speaker 10: way and stuff.
- 1:17:34Speaker 8: But it was this beautiful, like connecting moment.
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: Yes. Yeah, And then.
- 1:17:45Speaker 10: When Pat volunteers to take over the camp and all
- 1:17:49Speaker 10: the kids start channing.
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: I did love that that didn't get me. I was surprised, actually,
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: I remember right, I wrote down a note like OHM
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: surprised that one didn't get me.
- 1:18:00Speaker 10: But and I think my last one is all when
- 1:18:03Speaker 10: Jerry and Pat taught, I think they're all They're like
- 1:18:07Speaker 10: having a heart heart again by the go karts and
- 1:18:10Speaker 10: Jerry says I've always wanted to go fast.
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like I almost.
- 1:18:15Speaker 10: I feel like I choked up because I'm like, that's
- 1:18:17Speaker 10: just the realist response.
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: Ever, I loved that whole That whole little go kart
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: scene was very sweet and just like, you know, he's
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: just trying to do right by this kid. You know, Yes,
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: I did that did get me for sure.
- 1:18:30Speaker 7: I liked that moment.
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: It was three three, Do you have any more?
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: No? That was all I have? Nice?
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: Sorry, nicely done, good team work.
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: Should we do a little movie trivia?
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: Sure, I don't have a lot for this.
- 1:18:47Speaker 11: Uh.
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: We said the one about the Peter Fitz joke, which
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: is intense uh.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: And poor taste and to taste they needed the Simpsons
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: because the Simpsons came up with so many Amanda huggin
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: kiss was always my face.
- 1:19:03Speaker 6: I did like that one, A gentle one.
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: Yeah, and just a nice time. While Ben Stiller played
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: the parts of both Tony Perkins and his father, the
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: Bushkins were played by his actual parents, Joe Steeler and Mira,
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: which I guess we already knew, but just in case
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: people didn't know that. Uh, let's see as a part
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: of his first date with his eventual wife, Judd Apatow,
- 1:19:29Speaker 4: Oh Doggie Puppy Patreon dot com slash you have endorsement
- 1:19:33Speaker 4: if you want to see the.
- 1:19:34Speaker 8: Dog I was showing you, guys.
- 1:19:36Speaker 4: I loved it. Judd Appatow tried to impress Leslie Mann
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: on their first date by showing her this film, which
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: I think must This was a fun I didn't notice it,
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: but I did go back and check it out. As
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: the kids are getting off the Camp Hope bus when
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: they're first arriving, you can see the max capacity is
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: written out as twenty five, and then they've scratched over
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: it and then wrote in by hands twenty three.
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: It's pretty good. That's pretty that's pretty good.
- 1:20:09Speaker 8: It's very cute.
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: That's pretty good.
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: That's funny. I like it.
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: That's a nice touch.
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: While filming the scene where the kids have a party
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: after locking up Tony Purkis they and restoring the camp
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: the way it was, Aaron Schwartz, who plays Jerry, injured
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: his arm and his cast had to be hidden in
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: the scenes featuring him. That the ones still left to
- 1:20:30Speaker 4: be shot, so they were going after it. Apparently, Yeah,
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: these kids were drunk on sugar for sure. Let's see. Ah,
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: we said the Mighty Ducks crossovers, we had a bunch
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: of them that were in at least one or two
- 1:20:47Speaker 4: or even three of them. Sean Weiss was originally not
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: interested in acting in the film, but he changed his
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: mind when he found out that if he did not
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: act in Heavyweights, he wouldn't have been allowed to act
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: in D three The Mighty Duck. So wow, it was
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: a two for one special, I guess or something.
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: So are you so good in it?
- 1:21:05Speaker 8: It was so great?
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: He's great.
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: I love him in trying to turn down movies. Yeah,
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: twelve years old. No, I'm good.
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: I can't imagine ever turning down a movie, you know. Yeah,
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: I'll shut up. In twenty twelve, during a PBS telethon,
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: Jerry Stiller and an Mira spoke to the camera side
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: by side, just like in the Camp Hope promotional video.
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: The same music that played in the Camp Hope promotional
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: video played in the background of that PBS drive as well.
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: So I thought that was kind of fun and sweet.
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: There was a scene where Tony takes up bow and
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: arrow and aims for the kids and Jerry's dad, but
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: Disney cut it. This must be at the very end
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: of the movie. This scene is available in the deleted
- 1:21:54Speaker 4: scenes on the Blu Ray version, though, So I want
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: to see that.
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: Is this PG?
- 1:21:59Speaker 8: Is it PG?
- 1:22:00Speaker 4: A good question?
- 1:22:01Speaker 10: Actually, yeah, because I'm like it kind of rides like
- 1:22:04Speaker 10: a little intense light if it's like a kid's movie.
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: Right it is PG? Yeah?
- 1:22:08Speaker 8: Okay, okay, so that makes sense, right, now obviously fits joke.
- 1:22:15Speaker 10: I suppose that would have made it thirteen right, and
- 1:22:16Speaker 10: then we said we said something else earlier.
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, but it is PG and let's see. On
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: the Blu Ray commentary as well, Judd Apatas states that
- 1:22:27Speaker 4: he once ran into Paul Thomas Anderson and he told
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: jud that he loves Heavyweights. Wow, it's got good taste.
- 1:22:34Speaker 4: Good taste.
- 1:22:35Speaker 8: You should have seen it as a kid.
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:22:39Speaker 8: Can I tell you one thing.
- 1:22:40Speaker 10: I found an interview with Ben Stiller and the Kelsey
- 1:22:44Speaker 10: Brothers the football Oh yeah, Travis Kelcey and they talked
- 1:22:48Speaker 10: about Heavyweights, and it was so sweet. It's just like
- 1:22:51Speaker 10: a short part of the short part of the interview.
- 1:22:53Speaker 7: Of course that is.
- 1:22:55Speaker 10: But Travis Kelcey was like, I was a husky care
- 1:22:58Speaker 10: whatever he says. So he was like, I felt like
- 1:23:00Speaker 10: I wanted to go to Camp Hope.
- 1:23:02Speaker 8: And they both were just like, we love this movie.
- 1:23:04Speaker 8: And I thought that was so cool. And then Ben
- 1:23:09Speaker 8: ben Stiller.
- 1:23:10Speaker 10: Said in the interview, Who's like, I don't think we
- 1:23:12Speaker 10: could make it today because people because people would either
- 1:23:15Speaker 10: it's like an attack on kids. Even though I guess
- 1:23:18Speaker 10: I thought it was a little lighter than that, but
- 1:23:20Speaker 10: he was just like, I don't think I could make
- 1:23:23Speaker 10: it today or something, which is always just interesting, right,
- 1:23:26Speaker 10: maybe change like some of.
- 1:23:27Speaker 4: It, but yeah, that's interesting. Nice.
- 1:23:31Speaker 6: Yeah, one more thing he said.
- 1:23:34Speaker 10: He said that is Tony Purkis character was partially influenced
- 1:23:38Speaker 10: by Tony Rabbits.
- 1:23:40Speaker 7: I wondered.
- 1:23:47Speaker 8: I thought, yeah, I thought that was good.
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: That's cool.
- 1:23:51Speaker 7: Did you say that the Chris Farley John Candy fact?
- 1:23:54Speaker 7: Did I miss that?
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: I didn't.
- 1:23:58Speaker 7: Apparently they pitched to Chris Farley to be Pat and declined,
- 1:24:05Speaker 7: which I think is a good thing. And then they
- 1:24:09Speaker 7: had thought of John Candy when they were writing it,
- 1:24:12Speaker 7: but he passed away before. Oh yeah, he would have
- 1:24:17Speaker 7: been awesome.
- 1:24:18Speaker 8: With I think I think Pat.
- 1:24:20Speaker 10: The reason Pat was so good as because he was
- 1:24:22Speaker 10: like the real gentle side of it all.
- 1:24:24Speaker 8: Yeah, like the more real part of it.
- 1:24:28Speaker 10: Yeah, he might have been like two over the top, right,
- 1:24:30Speaker 10: so like the heart like Pat was the hardest.
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: It would have been so much funnier if Chris would
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: I mean, it wouldn't have.
- 1:24:37Speaker 8: Been it would have been a different movie.
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: I think you definitely would have seen it.
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: I would have seen it so many times.
- 1:24:43Speaker 10: I think it would have been really different though, because
- 1:24:44Speaker 10: then he probably hazed and done all this. Pat was
- 1:24:47Speaker 10: like this gentle, neutral, kind.
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: Little character honestly been my character.
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: Yeah, this is a fat camp, but we are really
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: good at sports. Because Farley was so athletic, could have
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: been it would have had to be a different thing.
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: Yeah that's wild. I mean I love Chris Barley, so
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: I would have loved for him to be in it.
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: Oh same, But yeah, what would have been different?
- 1:25:09Speaker 10: I wonder what era it was of Chris Barley when
- 1:25:11Speaker 10: this came out, Like, was he already so huge kind
- 1:25:14Speaker 10: of thing like sl Yeah, he would have been already
- 1:25:19Speaker 10: like a huge Okay, yeah.
- 1:25:23Speaker 7: It was him in Spade like they were.
- 1:25:26Speaker 4: Yeah thing, Yeah nice, nice Rob. Did you have any
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: trivia that we didn't get to.
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: No, I just had that Sean White's bit you were
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: talking about. But yeah, Judgment Day, will there be a sequel? Yes,
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: there have been rumors of Heavyweights too.
- 1:25:46Speaker 10: I feel like a modern day Heavyweights that could I
- 1:25:50Speaker 10: feel like.
- 1:25:51Speaker 8: In our like we could tackle, it'd be tackled in
- 1:25:52Speaker 8: a different way.
- 1:25:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: And most of the main kid actors are still acting,
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: so you could still have them come back. Maybe they're
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: counts or.
- 1:26:00Speaker 10: Something and make it like a weird wellness camp, you know,
- 1:26:04Speaker 10: like something something kind of you know, I don't know,
- 1:26:09Speaker 10: influencer culture totally.
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: Yeah. I think they could do it, I really do.
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: Maybe maybe they will do You guys want to play
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: a game? Sure, I made a game. It's a quotes game.
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: So I'm going to say a quote from a film,
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: and I want you to give me three things the
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: title of the film, the character name, and the actor's
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: name who said it. You can get three points for
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: each quote. If you get any of those wrong, you
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: don't lose any points, but the other person can come
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: in an answer for points. All of these films have
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: something in common, and if you know the theme, you
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: can ring in for a point at any time.
- 1:26:53Speaker 9: Got it?
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: Got it?
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: Good?
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: You already number one. I'm pretty sure there's a lot
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: more to life than being really really ridiculously good looking.
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: Jesselander correct, Yes, that's correct.
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: Derek is his first name. Get it?
- 1:27:20Speaker 8: I thought it was a trick question?
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: Yep? You got it?
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: Nice.
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: Let's go to number two. Nobody makes me bleed my
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: own blood.
- 1:27:31Speaker 4: Bugs, bugs, dodgeball, A true underdog tail I think is one. Yeah, story, Sorry,
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: I got scared Ben Steeler.
