- 0:00Speaker 1: No. The Mark Simone Show. Nine till noon weekdays.
- 0:04Speaker 2: More Mark.
- 0:05Speaker 3: 710WOR.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Hey, we'll take some calls.
- 0:07Speaker 4: 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 0:09Speaker 5: 800-321-0710.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey, you hear this? CNN went out yesterday. Went off
- 0:12Speaker 1: the air for 30 minutes. They haven't said exactly what happened,
- 0:14Speaker 1: but about 12.05... to about 12.35 for nearly 30 minutes.
- 0:30Speaker 1: CNN was off the air. Brianna Keller was the anchor
- 0:34Speaker 1: when she came back. She said, welcome back. We're back.
- 0:36Speaker 1: There was a technical issue across Warner Brothers Discovery's channels
- 0:40Speaker 1: that resulted in losing our signal. We're sorry for the interruption.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Let's get back now to breaking news, which means fake news. Now,
- 0:48Speaker 1: CNN was out for a half hour. It's very serious.
- 0:51Speaker 1: That affected nearly 125,000 people that were actually watching CNN. Well,
- 1:00Speaker 1: it was on 125,000 sets, but, uh, let's figure 50,000
- 1:05Speaker 1: were watching the rest. It was on in the airport.
- 1:07Speaker 1: It was on in the gym. The sound was off.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Nobody was really watching. Let's go to, uh, Neil in Brooklyn. Neil,
- 1:13Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 1:15Speaker 3: Thank you, Mark.
- 1:16Speaker 5: Mark.
- 1:16Speaker 3: I was watching a lot of, uh, shows to see
- 1:19Speaker 3: if they had an opinion about the Hakeem Jeffries, Jared Kushner, uh,
- 1:22Speaker 3: meeting and nobody came up with this theory.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:26Speaker 3: The theory is that Jared says to him, look, we
- 1:29Speaker 3: know you're going to win the house back. And then
- 1:33Speaker 3: these communists are going to come after you and they're
- 1:35Speaker 3: going to tell you they don't want you. They don't
- 1:36Speaker 3: even want to look at you. But my father-in-law has
- 1:40Speaker 3: a bunch of Republicans.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Well, I love how you make up this whole fake
- 1:44Speaker 1: conversation that you think that..
- 1:47Speaker 5: Well, nobody had any other good theories.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Well, we don't need any theories. They actually, believe it
- 1:54Speaker 1: or not, Jared and... Hakeem have, I wouldn't say friends,
- 1:57Speaker 1: they've been associates for years. From even the first term
- 2:02Speaker 1: of Trump, they would talk often and meet often. They've
- 2:05Speaker 1: had a relationship for some time. Remember, Jared was in
- 2:09Speaker 1: the White House, actually in the White House, full-time, first term.
- 2:13Speaker 1: And remember, Jared and Ivanka, they're not exactly MAGA Republicans.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Jared's always kind of a liberal sort of a guy.
- 2:20Speaker 1: He's had a long, long relationship with Hakeem Jeffries. So
- 2:24Speaker 1: He just wanted to meet with them just in case
- 2:26Speaker 1: they win. He wanted to just make peace and make
- 2:30Speaker 1: sure they were on good terms again. So they met
- 2:33Speaker 1: in a private home here in Manhattan this past week.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Let's go to Michael on the east side. Michael, how
- 2:39Speaker 1: you doing?
- 2:40Speaker 6: Hey, Michael.
- 2:41Speaker 7: It's good to talk to you. A couple of thoughts
- 2:44Speaker 7: about that.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Doesn't he sound like a gangster? I knew he sounded
- 2:46Speaker 1: like a gangster from a 1940s movie. I could see
- 2:49Speaker 1: you telling Jimmy Cagney, now she here, Michael.
- 2:53Speaker 6: Well, I thank you for that.
- 2:55Speaker 7: In any event, people have been talking about that NFL
- 2:59Speaker 7: owner who got into trouble recently and then they bring
- 3:04Speaker 7: up Kraft's name.
- 3:05Speaker 6: You talk about.
- 3:06Speaker 1: The NFL owner who went to a prostitute?
- 3:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:11Speaker 1: And this story kind of..
- 3:16Speaker 6: And come on, give him a break. He went to
- 3:18Speaker 6: a strip mall. What else is he going to find there?
- 3:21Speaker 6: And then he got disoriented with all those Korean girls there.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Actually, she was.
- 3:28Speaker 6: Okay, so send him.
- 3:30Speaker 1: She was actually Chinese. And apparently he went to her many, many, many,
- 3:35Speaker 1: many times for years. He even brought her to Mar-a-Lago
- 3:37Speaker 1: once to a party there.
- 3:40Speaker 6: I would lay odds on that. But then send him
- 3:43Speaker 6: to a penal colony.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Well, listen, the guy Kraft likes to go to these
- 3:49Speaker 1: Chinese strip mall massage parlors and get a little, what
- 3:53Speaker 1: they call a rub and tug. And you kind of
- 3:56Speaker 1: identify with this for some reason. You're a little sensitive
- 3:59Speaker 1: on this subject. He's listening to himself on the radio.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. Let's go to Rich in Myrtle Beach. Rich,
- 4:08Speaker 1: how are you doing? Hey, thanks, Mark.
- 4:10Speaker 5: You know, last week when Trump came down here for
- 4:13Speaker 5: that rally on Friday, I was actually performing at a
- 4:15Speaker 5: bar about three blocks away, and a bunch of people
- 4:18Speaker 5: came in about 9 o'clock. I'm going to say two
- 4:20Speaker 5: dozen sitting at various tables, all had their red MAGA
- 4:23Speaker 5: hats on and everything, so I was just finishing up.
- 4:26Speaker 5: And I went to ask them, did you come to
- 4:27Speaker 5: this rally for Darlene Graham? You come to see Donald Trump.
- 4:30Speaker 5: A hundred percent of them said they came only for
- 4:33Speaker 5: Donald Trump. They're not Darlene Graham fans.
- 4:36Speaker 1: That's the idea.
- 4:36Speaker 5: Ralph's not... Well, that Ralph's not a Ralph Norman's not
- 4:41Speaker 5: a big fan. It's a it's a neck and neck
- 4:42Speaker 5: tie down here.
- 4:44Speaker 1: We know it's about forty nine five to forty nine.
- 4:48Speaker 1: But you got to remember, when the president does these rallies,
- 4:50Speaker 1: of course, they're coming to see him. That's why you
- 4:52Speaker 1: do the rally, because that's the idea of it.
- 4:54Speaker 5: That's right. I don't think it's going to help. I
- 4:56Speaker 5: wouldn't be surprised if Ralph Norman won, but he's been
- 4:59Speaker 5: a bit of an obstructionist to Donald Trump. He's not
- 5:02Speaker 5: a good guy either.
- 5:02Speaker 2: They're both terrible.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Well, he's better than nothing, but he probably is going
- 5:06Speaker 1: to win tonight. But see, that's the idea of the rally.
- 5:08Speaker 1: What Trump does, he gets all his fans there, and
- 5:11Speaker 1: they're all watching, and they're all watching, and then he
- 5:16Speaker 1: tells them all about Darlene Graham, why you should vote
- 5:19Speaker 1: for them. So the idea, you don't want to get
- 5:21Speaker 1: her fans there because they're already voting for her. You
- 5:23Speaker 1: don't need them. But you get all your fans there,
- 5:26Speaker 1: and then you talk to them for 20 minutes about
- 5:28Speaker 1: why they should vote for it, and you give this
- 5:30Speaker 1: whole speech. And then that converts them over to her fans.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I don't know if it will work. She's really, in
- 5:36Speaker 1: some ways, the incumbent. So she should be ahead now
- 5:38Speaker 1: in the polls, and she's not. So she's probably going
- 5:41Speaker 1: to have a very tough time tonight. Let's go to
- 5:43Speaker 1: Joe in Hoboken. Joe, how are you doing?
- 5:47Speaker 2: Hi, Mark.
- 5:48Speaker 4: First time, long time. I want to thank you for
- 5:51Speaker 4: what you do.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I don't know what I do, but okay.
- 5:56Speaker 4: I've been a fan for over five years, and out
- 5:59Speaker 4: of all the commentators, you're happy. I'm a former New Yorker.
- 6:04Speaker 4: You know so much about the city, and I love
- 6:07Speaker 4: when you have guests on, and they go down a
- 6:11Speaker 4: rabbit hole with doom and gloom, and you're like, thanks
- 6:15Speaker 4: for cheering us up. I just laugh throughout the day
- 6:18Speaker 4: listening to your show. I even don't get enough of Mark.
- 6:22Speaker 4: I go to the old tapes. I was listening to
- 6:25Speaker 4: you in 2018, and your predictions were even right back then.
- 6:30Speaker 1: All right. I got to be honest. You may have
- 6:33Speaker 1: a problem. This sounds like an addiction. This sounds like
- 6:36Speaker 1: too much listening.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Thank you so much. See, I said you're funny.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Yeah, but this might be a little too much listening.
- 6:46Speaker 1: You know, I'm supposed to do that. I'm supposed to
- 6:49Speaker 1: go listen to the show again and see what I
- 6:51Speaker 1: can fix and see, you know, you learn from listening
- 6:54Speaker 1: to it. Every day you're supposed to listen to your
- 6:56Speaker 1: show back. I've never once been able to do it. Never.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I can't do it.
- 7:00Speaker 4: So who am I going to listen to if they're
- 7:03Speaker 4: all negative and not happy? You're happy.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Well, that's true. That's true. You can't be yelling and
- 7:10Speaker 1: screaming and upset and lecturing, and that doesn't work.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Oh, it's just so depressing. Or angry, or I don't know.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Tell us why you left Manhattan and you went to Hoboken.
- 7:21Speaker 1: What was the reason?
- 7:24Speaker 4: Oh, we had a baby, and it was just cheaper.
- 7:27Speaker 1: It is cheaper. But Hoboken's pretty crowded. It's like New
- 7:31Speaker 1: York City. It's pretty crowded. It's not so cheap there,
- 7:34Speaker 1: is it?
- 7:36Speaker 4: Uh, well, they have this, it's not called rent control.
- 7:41Speaker 4: It's called something else, but they're only allowed to raise
- 7:44Speaker 4: your rent like 3% a year. Um, so yeah, we have, God,
- 7:51Speaker 4: we have a $ 1, 200 a month rent for.
- 7:54Speaker 1: A two bedroom.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Wow.
- 7:55Speaker 1: That's pretty good.
- 7:56Speaker 4: And when we moved in, yeah, when we moved in,
- 7:59Speaker 4: it was 1100. And, uh, I think it went up
- 8:03Speaker 4: to 1200 in the last three years. And then, You know,
- 8:06Speaker 4: these increases are like $ 69. It's amazing.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Very good. And now stop saying this, otherwise everybody's going
- 8:12Speaker 1: to start moving to Hoboken. It'll get too crowded. But
- 8:15Speaker 1: good call, Joe. Great call. Thanks for calling. Call again.
- 8:18Speaker 1: That's the thing about living in Manhattan. If you live
- 8:21Speaker 1: in Manhattan, it's so expensive that you can move anywhere
- 8:25Speaker 1: you want, and it seems cheap. You know, if you
- 8:27Speaker 1: live in Massapequa and you move somewhere else, you go,
- 8:30Speaker 1: this is so expensive. But if you live in Manhattan,
- 8:33Speaker 1: any place seems cheap compared to... Manhattan. Let's go to
- 8:36Speaker 1: Bill in New Jersey. Bill, how you doing?
- 8:39Speaker 5: Okay.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Thank you, Mark. So Kathy Bugs Bunny, wife of Hank Hochul,
- 8:44Speaker 2: wants to pass a law to protect criminals. And my
- 8:49Speaker 2: question is, can't federal law for ICE overrule state law?
- 8:54Speaker 1: Oh, it does. It does. It absolutely does.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 1: She can make all these sanctuary whatever rules. Federal law
- 8:59Speaker 1: always supersedes local law. ICE can do whatever the hell
- 9:02Speaker 1: they want. There's nothing she can do about it. She
- 9:04Speaker 1: just yells and screams, sanctuary city, and we will not
- 9:07Speaker 1: cooperate with ICE. Now, it's a smarter thing to cooperate.
- 9:12Speaker 1: If they don't cooperate with ICE, they've got to go
- 9:14Speaker 1: in the street and they've got to bring a lot
- 9:15Speaker 1: more people because they don't have local cops to help them.
- 9:18Speaker 1: They've got to bring a lot more people, and it's
- 9:20Speaker 1: a rougher operation. Now, if you're Bruce Blakeman and you're
- 9:23Speaker 1: a smart, very, very smart governor in Nassau County, he
- 9:28Speaker 1: fully cooperates with ICE. We'll have local police help you.
- 9:31Speaker 1: with your arrest. We'll lend you a jail if you
- 9:34Speaker 1: need it. That's why you never hear a problem in
- 9:37Speaker 1: Nassau County. Everything's done nicely, peacefully. Hey, we've got a
- 9:41Speaker 1: lot coming up. Don't forget, I'm here 9 to noon
- 9:44Speaker 1: every day now. It's three hours, 9 to noon every day.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Then at noon, you've got Buck and Clay. That's a
- 9:50Speaker 1: really good show. You'll learn a lot listening to them.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Noon to 3, and then you've got 3 o'clock, you've
- 9:54Speaker 1: got the most listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Jesse Kelly at six have you listened to jimmy faylor
- 10:01Speaker 1: go ahead just listen to jimmy faylor you'll get hooked
- 10:03Speaker 1: it's a very funny show every night nine to midnight
- 10:07Speaker 1: here on 710 wor
