- Julio A.: Hello everybody, me gente, my people. This is the no good sports podcast with the two Pabones, Julio and Julio. What's going on? How you doing? Yankees are done. Julio Pabón: S so much going on, so little to time to talk. Julio A.: I think Yankees are done. Hot take, Yankees are done. It's not that hot. Hotter take, the Yankees are done, despite the fact that Max Fried was like, my baby's Julio Pabón: It was Julio A.: gonna be born without me. I'm gonna pitch tonight. So let's talk about that first. Two other pitchers in this year's playoffs, including Mason Miller, who's a closer for the San Diego Padres, did not close in yesterday's game for the Padres. They had Michael King come out and close it. It was in part because he wasn't even in the stadium. He's on paternity leave because he's had a little baby that was being born. He insisted he has to be at the hospital. Rightfully so. Rightfully Julio Pabón: Good father. Good father. Good father. Julio A.: so. Max Fried, not so much. He was like, I'm pitching tonight against the race. Julio Pabón: And it didn't help. Julio A.: Well it's it's tonight. We don't know. We don't Julio Pabón: Well, I don't think it's gonna help. Let's see what happens. I mean, the Yankees have thrown out two of the best pitches they've had. Bottom line. Two of the best pitches the Yankees have had. And Julio A.: Cold going game one to me was kind of a knock on Rodon. Julio Pabón: Right. Yeah. Yeah. I Julio A.: Rodan Rodong had been there all year. He, you know, Garrett Cole hadn't pitched in months. you know, and and coming down the stretch, Rodong was pretty strong. And he didn't go in the first round, that makes sense. You know, he's not the one of the first two starters, he's not Schlitler, who's gonna win the Cy Young. He's not Max Fried, you know, who who's a great lefty, but but I thought maybe you you throw him after Max Fried. Didn't happen. Didn't need Julio Pabón: No. Julio A.: him. this series, you start with Garrett Cole. I thought you we we could have been a little more aggressive and start with Rodon. Listen, it's not even that Garrett Cole gives up to home runs, which is what he's done in September. it's that. We can't field. And the rays cause havoc on the base pass. Julio Pabón: was yeah, I think that and the reason we can't we can't field is because the Rays don't play typical baseball. They play small ball. You know, they bunt. They have the s Julio A.: Which used to be typical baseball. Julio Pabón: second what, the second most number of bunts in the in in all of baseball. I think Milwaukee is like number one. They're number two. T Julio A.: Both of them. Julio Pabón: the the the top two bunters in the in the in in baseball of Milwaukee and the Tampa Bay. And is it any coincidence that both of the two Julio A.: Two best records in baseball. Julio Pabón: records in baseball? You know, so all the analytics that said back then that, you know, bunting is a gay is a way out of the future. No more bunting in baseball. That's a waste, you know, of a player, of a batter just to advance the player th ninety feet. Julio A.: But it it's it's not just the bunting. It's the it you know, they don't strike out a lot. They they put the ball in play, they hustle on every play, they take off from first base, they steal, you know, it the the they just cause havoc. That inning w you know, that one in that c catastrophic inning, and I feel like it happens every postseason. We had a catastrophic the Yankees had a catastrophic inning against the Dodgers in the World Series that basically cost them. The series and the game. but that one inning where Chisholm makes a really bad decision trying to get a double play when there was no need for it. throws the ball out. McMahon can't pick up a routine, you know, ground ball. Hi hot, but a routine for him. He can't pick it up, can't hold it cleanly, ball falls. Austin Wells trying to catch what is strike three. And the bat Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: hits the glove, catches interference, he gets the base. the inning is over. It wasn't catastrophic. They didn't blow us out, but they did. Julio Pabón: It's only one one run score, but it was four errors. Julio A.: But it's zero hits. It was zero hits. Like we we basically gifted them. And you can't do that with a small ball team. They they they will c relentlessly. come at you. The fact that they got Cam Schlitzer out the game before the fifth inning, I think is telling. I think they're gonna do the same tonight. I just think they they smell blood and they know that that that we're we're in our own head right now. People are second guessing. The thing about that sucks about it is that this is the hand, and I keep going back to this with Aaron Boone. Not that I defend Aaron Boone. I have a lot of critique for Aaron Boone In a lot of ways, but this is the hand that he's dealt. Are you Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: gonna start Anthony Volpe ahead of Chaz Jazz Chisholm? I I'm not. J by all metrics, by every statistic, Jazz Chisholm has a higher ceiling and a higher floor. you is he gonna make boneheaded plays? You know, is he gonna, you know, get get spacey and shit? It comes with the territory, yeah, sure. Julio Pabón: Yeah, he he he he he does that, yeah. Julio A.: But but but does he have a higher floor than Anthony Volve? Absolutely. So no, you know, the critique about, he should have started Jose Caballero or or Anthony Volve, none of those guys are are on the verge of superstar status. None of those guys have been on the cover of a video game like Jazz Chism. Right? None of those guys have got Julio Pabón: Right. Julio A.: that. And so his obviously you're gonna play your your talent. And so I just Julio Pabón: You gotta pay your best if you're going for the b if you're going to the top, you gotta play your best. Julio A.: I just think you gotta do it. And so it's not Boone's fault. This is the this is the hand that he's dealt. But you gotta go through five relievers when your ace is on the mound and you still lose. I I I in a five game series, I don't I don't see them coming back. In fact, I think they're done. I don't although I said that last series about the the Phillies and they ended up winning a game, losing the series, but they won a game. Julio Pabón: Told you the f I said the Phillies was gonna win. Julio A.: You did. It didn't that that take did not age well. Let's see if this one does. But I as much as I'm a Yankee fan, I'm rooting for him. I want him to win. But I think the Rays are too much. Julio Pabón: Well they got what they're gonna advantage. They're back in the Bronx. they're gonna have the home field advantage, they're gonna have the crazy fans, you know, like almost 50,000, 40 something thousand fans are gonna be out there rooting for them. That energy does something to a team. Julio A.: Yeah, yeah. Julio Pabón: so let's see what happens there. It's it's a do-or-die situation. Julio A.: It better be. Julio Pabón: It's a do-or-die situation. You can't you just can't do anything other than go give it your best to win. But at the same time, you know, you can't have your pitcher throw nineteen pitches in the first inning because of mishaps, like what happened. Julio A.: I'll tell you this. If Max Fried misses the birth of his child and the Yankees don't win, that that that's not gonna be a happy birth. That's not gonna be a great the a great core memory. You know. You better make it worth his while. So as a team, if you're not gonna, you know, do do it for him if you're not gonna do it for yourself. Cleveland, Chicago, Cleveland. Julio Pabón: Very disappointing. Disappointing. I thought Cleveland, Julio A.: Finally. Julio Pabón: I thought Cleveland was gonna do more. I mean, I feel bad for our boy, Jose Ramirez. he's been a slump. Julio A.: Well, they're still in it. They play today. You you're saying you're saying Chicago's too much. They win today? Julio Pabón: Chicago, I don't know what they have, bro. They they this whole thing of losing so many games for two years in a row, two seasons in a row, and coming back this year with major no major make big changes in their lineup and their team. Just bringing one person. Julio A.: No one very significant. Julio Pabón: Yeah, but that one significant person has done something to the team because, bro, these guys don't seem to want to, they don't they don't want to lose. They're not losing. And Cleveland is no slouch, you know. Cleveland had a good record. Julio A.: Well they're not playing scared, that's for sure. They're not playing scared. Julio Pabón: But that's for sure. They're really hitting it hard, man. And I again, you know, our boy Jose Ramirez, you know, I think he he hasn't really come up to where I know he could. Maybe he'll come out now, but Julio A.: They figured him out. Julio Pabón: yeah, they did. They did. So I I'm I'm a little bit concerned because I have Julio A.: It they figured him out. Julio Pabón: this, you know, love for Cleveland. We, you know, when you and I took that drive through, you know, the cross country, we stopped off in Cleveland. We went to the Rock Julio A.: Shout out Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Julio Pabón: and Roll Hall of Fame, you know, so I we didn't go to t you Julio A.: Great museum. Go visit. Julio Pabón: know, we were able to stop there and that was very positive. So I have and then R Jose Ramirez, I felt that he's always been underrated. he won the twenty Julio A.: Agreed. Julio Pabón: twenty five Latino MVP Award. We couldn't give it to him because he was so concentrated on getting himself ready for the postseason that he actually said that he apologized, but he said, you know, that we can give him the award d the ne this next season, when they come to New York, but that he did not want to be like distorted in any way. He wanted to focus all on his injury and just be out there for the game every day. He didn't want nothing. Even that presentation would only take three minutes. But that just shows you the caliber person he is. So I you know, I can accept that. You know, I didn't need to go to we didn't need to go to Cleveland to give him the award. We would have liked to, but the fact is that Hey, he is a person who definitely deserves more recognition and I think that this is his time and hopefully he'll come out of whatever it is that is holding him back because we still got some games to play, hopefully. Julio A.: I'm I'm I I think I in part agree with you. I think the White Sox actually are gonna take this series. I didn't pick them to win at all. Or I didn't pick them pick them to win this series. Julio Pabón: Yeah, do I I don't think too many people did. Julio A.: I definitely didn't pick them to win the series, but seeing the way that they play, seeing how unafraid that they are, seeing the chances that they take, it's almost like they don't know where they are. They don't know their stakes. They don't really care. They're playing with house money. I've been saying this throughout their entire postseason run. This is house money for them. They they they you know, this isn't like, you gotta win. Our fan base is expect this. Isn't the Yankees that come with the which is, you know, in part one of the reasons why probably Max Fried feels the need, he needs to come back. It's the expectation of winning constantly in New York. You don't win a World Series, it's a failure. The White Sox are not looking at it like World Series are busts. Julio Pabón: No, no. Julio A.: They're playing with house money. And so therefore, I don't think they're playing pr it looks like they're still having fun. They're playing pressure-free Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: baseball and their smiles on their faces. And they're still, you know, slapping each other on the backside and, you know, having pranks in the in the in the in the in the dugout. And you know, they they they'll strike out with guys on base, go back to the dugout, and guys are giving them high five for it. You go to the Yankees after you strike out with men on base and you get the cold. No one's giving you a high five telling you next time. No, that's a lonely walk through that dug that dugout when you should right. So it I just think I think that ability to just like play with house money is gonna ultimately take him. I don't think it's gonna happen today. I think Cleveland plays well at home. I think I for all the reasons you mentioned, I think Jose is due. I think today is the day he's gonna have a game. Kind of like Big Papi shouting out Dati Sin Manny on the postgame. Couple days ago, he shot at the mountain was like these boys need to like step it up. What's wrong with that? Blah blah blah. And what did what did they do yesterday? What did the Padres do yesterday? First, you know, Manny. I mean, excuse me, first Fernando and then Manny. And then after the, you know, early innings is two-nothing San Diego off the backs of the two stars. so th they did their Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: part. I think Jose's gotta do his part. Not not to revisit the Yankees, but like when we're talking stars, like Ben Rice is the only one doing his part. Julio Pabón: A Hokum Babichuela, a Hokum Pollo, whatever you wanna call him, bro, you know, Uncle Rice Roni, you know, he Julio A.: Bro, b b b Uncle Ben's Uncle Ben Zaros, bro. Julio Pabón: is coming through, you know, coming from the bench as a designated hitter. He's the he's the guy. Julio A.: He's the guy. He's the guy you you, you know, if you're the opposing team, he's the one guy on the team. You're like, don't pitch to him, don't do it. everybody else is, you know, not much going on. And so so it Julio Pabón: No, it's like shut down, shut down alley. Julio A.: I I think the stars need to step up in some of these games. We're always gonna have, and we'll get to, you know, our our role players in a second with the next series, but we're we we're always gonna have those. But we our stars do need to step up. And Jose, I think, is gonna step up today. So I think Cleveland wins today, but they lose the series. going back to San Diego. What a win yesterday. I'm so happy that they got Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: one. I don't know. Were you able to stay up until the middle of the night to to watch it? Julio Pabón: I was able to stay up and no, I wasn't feeling that well. So I was basically taking, Julio A.: Mm. Julio Pabón: you know, all the recommendations to just get some rest. I'm here in Puerto Rico and there was a major I mean it rains a lot down. Julio A.: Is there a t is there a time difference between PR and the East Coast right now? Okay, so it's all the same time right now. All right. Yeah, I mean that game lasted a long time. That game li Julio Pabón: No. No. Yeah. Not soon. It'll change. But right now, it's there. And I was like decided to do some work outside. And bro, you know, being impulsive as I am, it started to rain. I felt there's only a little drizzle. Next thing I know is pouring and I'm still underneath the water. And then realized, what am I doing? This and then Julio A.: Que la guacero. Julio Pabón: yes, man. And when I got in, it was like I was soaked. And that apparently didn't make me didn't help anyway at all with this asthma and head cold. So I had to basically rest. But I was so interested in their game that I was watching a little bit and when I saw Manny coming up, and Manny's hot, you know, and he got that hit, that I said to myself, that's all I needed to see. You know, you know, we have a special relationship with Manny and Machado. Julio A.: Well, he got an RBI early on in the game. Later in the game, he had a chance to come on with men on base and he roped one. And Jackson Churio ran like Usain Bolt and tracked that shit down and robbed Manny of a du at least a double. Julio Pabón: Lisa double. Julio A.: At least a double. He hit it hard. He roped it. It was like one of those where it was like a stinger. It like it was Julio Pabón: Ha ha. Julio A.: it was rising, but it was also curving. It was curving towards like towards the foul pole in that direction. And Jackson just, man, that boy got on his horse, robbed him. Julio Pabón: No, me tell him. Julio A.: And so it was good defense on that part. I'm happy the Padres won. Michael King had to come in and it would have been a normal bullpen session for him. And instead, he was like, Fucking, throw me out there. He pitched the last two innings of the game because they didn't have their clothes, like I said earlier. Mason Miller was in the hospital with the birth of his child. And so their closer. Also, he had pitched two innings yesterday. I don't know how, or the day before. And so I don't I don't know how much he had in him because they didn't have, you know, he Julio Pabón: Right. Julio A.: didn't have a he didn't have a good outing to begin with. But you do have to live with your closer. Anyway, Michael Kane came in, former Yankee, the guy that we traded for for Juan Soto when he was still a Padre, and Juan Soto ended up being a one-year loner. Well, this guy ends up going out and pitching two innings after having pitched game one and closed out the game for them. And so they win by by very short margin. all these games have been pretty short. They win by a short margin. I Julio Pabón: Julio, when you talk about trade, when you when you talk about trade, I just gotta get it just cut just something just hits in my head as a Met fan, as I am also. I mean, don't you think that Stern sh watching these Tampa Bay games should be thinking, you let go of these two guys who happen to be key players now for Tampa? Two guys Julio A.: Mm. Julio Pabón: that are pouring it on for Tampa. You know, like Julio A.: I mean it it gets worse than that. Look look at look at the the National League MVP, Pete Crow Armstrong of the Chicago Cubs was traded from the Mets. He was a Met. And so Julio Pabón: That's three. Two for Tampa and one for Chicago. Julio A.: he also led he also led the National League in home runs. And so if you look at it from another perspective, Pete Crow Armstrong and Pete Alonzo. The two Pete's led Julio Pabón: Four. Julio A.: led the home runs in each league and both of them were former. Julio Pabón: I don't know where, I don't know where Stern's, where Stern is watching these games from. Maybe he just, maybe he's Julio A.: I think Stern needs to get traded, bro. Julio Pabón: boycotting watching these games because every time he watches a game, he sees a Met, X-Met, that he traded for, helping to win a possible postseason birth and World Series for these teams that nobody was talking about. You know, wherever Stern is at, I don't know if he wants to even hear about it. Does he get some phone calls once in a while and say, yo, you know that guy you traded? Did you see what he just did? Julio A.: I mean, look, I'm sure it happens to every executive all the time, but it's like bittersweet when when you know when you're watching these particular games and you know you should, it's you should be in this position. You've built what Julio Pabón: Absolutely. Julio A.: you thought was a team to be competing at this time of year. And you see a bunch of people that you have in your farm and a bunch of people that you chose not to re-sign. But you know, you'd be winning awards and and and and in the playoffs. And that hurts. That stinks. What I'm talking about Julio Pabón: That's it. Julio A.: with the Yankees is a little different though. We gave up what ended up being another team's ace. Could have been a great two or three for us. for a one year loner. when everybody thought that, you know, you don't you don't you don't leave the Yankees, right? That's the one Team that you're like or y well Julio Pabón: One team you don't wanna you don't wanna leave. Julio A.: now it's the Dodgers, but it used to be, you know, you'd once you get the Yankees, you set for life. Once a Yankee, always a Yankee, all that stuff. Old time is day. And and you know, no. He was like, I don't want it. I'm I'm I'm chasing the money. And look and look where he is now. in Cancun or the DR watching, because you know, they can't get it out. Anyway, enough Met Talk. I think the Padres You know, I initially had the Brewers winning this series. I'm pulling it back. I'm pulling it back. I think I think Julio Pabón: What? What? Julio A.: I think a win like yesterday in the environment that they were in at home. I think this could be a momentum shifter. You don't even have your closer coming into close. You got your game one starter filling in and he Julio Pabón: So Julio A.: gets the job done. Your stars came out. Jackson Merrill, you know, had some a really good defensive play out there as well. Jay Cronenworth, who hasn't hit, he hit one home run off a lefty all year. He hits a home run off a lefty in the playoffs. Julio Pabón: Yesterday. Julio A.: And so I I think this is a momentum shifter. I don't see I don't see San Diego losing tonight. And I don't see them, I think this carries them through the rest of the series. Padres and five. I'm switching. Julio Pabón: Wow. That's that's a major switch, bro. I mean I I'm cautiously optimistic. I would like to see San Diego, but for some reason I just don't know if they can pull off Milwaukee, yeah, there's that quiet Julio A.: You can't quit. You've liked Milwaukee all season. You let's be real. Let's be real. Julio Pabón: quiet small ball team, low payroll. You know, I always sympathize with the little guy with the small guy and so so I I you know Julio A.: You do. You always have. So to be clear, to be clear, you're taking you're taking small ball over a Boricwa owner. Just we're throwing that out there. I'm just saying, to be clear, I just we're throwing that out there. I'm just saying you what this this is what I heard. Julio Pabón: whoa, whoa, whoa. Why you gotta put it that way? And and and and two of my favorite play and two of my favorite players, Dattis and Machado. Julio A.: And two of your favorite players. Julio Pabón: All right. I definitely would want I definitely want San Diego to win. I definitely want San Diego to win. I'm just cautiously optimistic, man. That's all. I'm cautiously optimistic. I don't know if they could pull this up. Julio A.: Right, you want them to win, but your mu your money's not on San Diego. You're you're still you're you're still going. Julio Pabón: No, dude. We still don't have no ads from FanDuel or from one of these things companies. So I ain't putting no money down on anybody. You know, but you know, eventually, you know, we might get some ads from these people. I'll put five dollars down. I'll put five dollars down. No, they're not. I just feel this Julio A.: I'm just saying, your heart and your brain are not in conjunction. Julio Pabón: conflict. I feel this conflict. I I don't feel comfortable. I I don't like this feeling. I really don't. You know, I like when I'm all the way, all the way. I'm committed, I'm impulsive, let's go all the way. But This particular series, Milwaukee, and I mean look, the best scenario would yeah. Julio A.: It's been the best series of of the four, t in my opinion, by far. It's been the best series by far. It's the closest one. It's the one with the best defense. Xander Bogard's won that the game, you know. It should have been. Julio Pabón: It should have been right now three nothing. You know, they should have the San Diego would have won this already, right? Julio A.: They were they had the lead. They had the lead and then they lost it. That's true. You're not wrong. Julio Pabón: This is this is incredible, you know, so I don't know. Julio A.: You're not wrong. Minnesota, I mean Milwaukee could have already been out of it and they're still here. And they're in the lead. All they gotta do is get one more in the Julio Pabón: That's it. Julio A.: next two. so all the pressures on San Diego. That said, I think, I think this is the year. Unfortunately, that they they they win this series, but they're still gonna lose to the Dodgers. Speaking of speaking of the Dodgers. Julio Pabón: whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Now that one, that one, Dodgers and San Diego, that would be a very and you're in the middle there. Yes you are. Bro, you your your son, Julio A.: Before we get there, Dodgers Braves yesterday. I'm not in the middle. I'm not in the middle. I'm very I'm not in the middle. I'm very clear. I'm very clear. Julio Pabón: my grandson's gonna be rooting for the Dodgers if San Diego. Julio A.: He's he's he's not he's he's very clear on his and I'm very clear on We'll see what happens when it c listen, I'm that's the series that we could talk about conflict with head and heart and conflict and that we'll when we get to that series, if San Diego pulls it off like I think they're going to, if San Diego can pull it off and it's not Milwaukee Dodgers, we can talk about that. Julio Pabón: That'll be great for the state of California too. I mean, you know, having two teams from California compete. Julio A.: It also it it's it's it's it's the real rivalry now. Everyone talks about Giants, Dodgers. That's the historic one. That goes bloodline level, you know, that goes back to New York, that's deep in in other ways. But in terms of like winning teams beating the shit out of each other, San Diego, LA Julio Pabón: San Diego. Julio A.: i is as good as it gets right now, you know, other than you know, watching Tampa Bay beat the shit out of New York, which They they do a good job. I mean, they've been doing I feel like they they're the one team in Aaron Boone's like he's they're Aaron Boone's like kryptonite. Kevin Cash Julio Pabón: Mm-hmm. Julio A.: ha has always had the Yankees number. I don't know what it is about that small ball. I don't know what it is about our defensive skills or defensive coach or whatever, but like they they the we're the Bronx bombers. They're the fucking, you know, they're the they are a ray. They're like these little, you know, they're slithery little, they're the exact opposite, and it never works. Julio Pabón: They're like the they're like the mimes in Puerto Rico, mucho holing, you know, they're always getting you. Julio A.: Yeah, yeah, it's like remember the Looney Tunes cartoons where like the Yankees are like the elephant and they're the little mouse that the elephant is like, you know, trying to step on, but he can't really. He's too fast. the Dodgers though. I can hear you clear now, okay. All right. Dodgers, Braves, I think what I saw yesterday was Chris Sale. Doing the best he can against what is turning out to be like a a legend in the making. This guy Yamamoto is just incredible. Gives you 10 strikeouts, seven strong innings. You know, he does it, Julio Pabón: Yes, he was. Julio A.: he does it again. The guy's unreal. But really, really, I want to talk about my man, Mr. October himself. I don't know how else to label him, but Kike fucking Hernandez, bro, is just Julio Pabón: huh. Julio A.: he's a legend. I don't know if you know this. I don't know if our public know this, so I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. I've there's a stat that. Boggled my mind when I heard it. I couldn't believe it. But Kike Hernandez now has 17 postseason home runs. Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: This includes all five Dodger World Series appearances since they started going to the World Series in was that 2017 or 2020? 20, Julio Pabón: Twenty seventeen, that's right. Julio A.: right? He's been on all five scenes. He's got 17 postseason home runs. Do you know who that ties him with? Julio Pabón: Mr. October? Julio A.: No pssh, Mr. October. Mr. October's done been in the dust. Do you know who that ties him with? Obviously not. I just asked the question twice. I don't know. Julio Pabón: No. No, no, no. Julio A.: Listen to this list. He is now tied for most postseason home runs with Big Poppy. Julio Pabón: Wow. Julio A.: Jim Tome Julio Pabón: I remember Jim. Julio A.: Remember Jim Toby? Yo, Jim Toby only went down as like one of the greatest guardianslash whatever. What do they call it? Indian, like ever. and who's the last one? Hold on. I see now I've fucked up this that. Julio Pabón: You had three. It was Big Poppy, Jim Tomey. Julio A.: It was Big Poppy, Jim Tomey, and of course, none other than Aaron Judge. Now, one of those things is not like the other. And Jim Tomey, Aaron Judge, and Big Poppy are all of a caliber of hitter. And then there's Kike Hernandez, career 235 hitter, who I don't know what happens to him. I don't know if he like just wakes up differently. I don't know if he needs the added pressure to succeed. And it's just six Julio Pabón: Tober Quique, that's all I can say. Julio A.: months, just doesn't do it for him. But like one month of baseball comes and Kike just turns into playoff Kike, as they know him here in LA. and playoff Kike is a different player. And the fact that he hit, you know, got the scoring started and hit that two-run shot off of Chris Sale was unreal to me. So Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: Shout out to Kike for being on a list with Jim Tomey, Big Poppy, and Aaron Judge. 17 postseason home runs now. And I think the legend of Kike keeps growing. A guy like that, do you keep bringing him back on a like? I guess the let me rephrase that question because the answer is yes, but he's not young. Julio Pabón: And he's a veteran, remember, he's thirty five years old. Julio A.: And you know, he's he's a two again, he's a 235 hitter during the year, but. What is that value? Like how do you can are the Dodgers the only team that can even have the luxury of carrying somebody like Akika Hernandez? Julio Pabón: Remember when we were in in LA a couple of weeks ago at Dodgers Stadium and we were speaking to one of our Latino sports team members who's a senior, who's a ex scout, William Coppola. And William Julio A.: yeah. Julio Pabón: William who who's attended many games and has been a scout for baseball, what did he tell us that freaked out? Because I asked him, you know, who's the most popular player? You know, said you know, Danny gets all these applauses, people bow to him and all that stuff. And he said, No, Julio. The most popular player in the Dodgers is Kike. I said, What? Kike? Julio A.: Mm. Julio Pabón: I said, no. He said, Julio, trust me. The most popular player is Kike because he's just popular, not just on the field with his antics, but he's also a community guy. You know, people see him outside. People, you know, he's he's an LA guy. You see him in places, he's talking to people. So he is liked by the LA fans more than I think any team any other player in the Dodgers organization. More than, you know, Otani, more than, you know, you name it. And I Julio A.: Well Julio Pabón: couldn't believe that. And this is coming from a guy who lives in LA who has covered who's been covering our games. And he Julio A.: Right. Julio Pabón: said that to me. I was I was surprised. I was really, I was really surprised that he said that Kike is the most popular player of the of the of the Dodgers. I couldn't believe it. Julio A.: he he g I don't know about the most. That might be a little hyperbolic. I mean, when you're on a team with like three former MVPs, it's hard to like say that like he's more popular than Shohei, who can't even leave his hotel room. But I think for the true cause maybe that's why, right? Yeah, nobody knows he's actually alive. He's just a robot that they put in a chamber and bring out to Julio Pabón: Maybe that's why, because he can't leave the hotel room if nobody sees him outside. Julio A.: play and then put back in the chamber. Julio Pabón: Biogenetically engineered, so they gotta keep protected. Julio A.: They gotta keep him, you know, yeah, exactly. no, but you know, I he's very popular for sure. and I think, you know, I'm gonna answer my own question here, but I I I think that not a lot of teens can carry a guy like Kike and just wait and know Julio Pabón: No. Julio A.: that his value comes the last two months of the year, right? Assuming you make the playoffs, September, October is Kike prime time. And you know, you're gonna have your ups and downs throughout the year. He's gonna fill in here and there. And you know, you he's gonna always be good defensively and bring the the the energy in the locker room, but on the field play, he's pretty mediocre. And then you get him in October, and you know, he's hitting bombs off of Chris Julio Pabón: He's a different guy. Julio A.: Sale. Like, you know, who's Cy Young candidate? Chris Sale. He's not gonna win this year. Ms. Rowski is my pick, but he's there. You know, top two, top three in the National League. He kept the Braves in it when when when everybody else was, you know, flying off the IR. a Geeka comes in and is like ice cold with it. And this is after a strikeout, right? He struck out the first time, then he comes up with Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: a man on base, then he hits him. So, you know, he brushes he brushes these things off. It's like, All right, you got me the first time, I'm gonna come back up to him and do it again. And Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: you know, so it it's just wild. But I think the Dodgers are one of the few teams, if not the only team. that can really afford to carry a guy like Ike. I and I don't mean afford in the financial sense. He's but but Julio Pabón: No for. But this is you know what the you know what Roberts was asked, the manager was asked yesterday, and he's about Kike, he says, Kike, he's a big time player. And then he went out, he said, We needed a little bit of Kike's dust. He says he's always prepared Julio A.: We all need a little bit of geek as dust, don't we? so Julio Pabón: and loves moments like this. That's what Roberts said. Julio A.: I some people are like that. They just get up for the the pressure. Jordan. I mean, Jordan did it every night of the year, but like when when the pressure mattered most, he stepped up. J Jalen Brunson. Jalen Brunson Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: doesn't shy away from the pressure, right? The pressure matters most in the fourth quarter. Everyone in the building knows who's gonna get the ball. Jalen Brunson is not afraid to take that shot, right? Kike is that guy. I wish Kike was a pitcher because he would come in and just completely dominate. Julio Pabón: Well speaking of pitcher, speak Julio A.: He can't do well, but I seen him do it. Julio Pabón: speaking of pitcher, I mean this is two two things that I think here in Puerto Rico getting a lot of publicity on yes on that game was you got two Boricuas who very instrumental. You got Quique with the home run, and then you got it Edwin Diaz who came out for his first postseason, you know, save. And it was a little bit rocky. They got a double off of him, so you know, people were a little bit a bit concerned, but he shut it down. after that with two flat balls. So that was good for us with in terms of feeling pr feeling happy that we were there and we gave him an Julio A.: Yeah. Julio Pabón: award. Maybe that helped a little bit and that's why the Dodgers went all out to make sure that that was an on field prime time presentation for Edwin Diaz. But I was happy to see Edwin Diaz close out that game and I was very happy to see Quique, Mr October or Quique October a as he's known here in Puerto Rico. if they get that home run. So there's a lot of Boricuas here in Puerto Rico kinda happy, even if they're not Dodger fans. Even if they're not Dodger fans, a lot of Puerto Ricans are happy today that they saw two Julio A.: Well, I bet you'll see more Dodger fans now than we've ever seen that are Boricwa, right? I mean he he'll do that. Julio Pabón: Two Boriquas instrumental in yesterday in that game yesterday. Julio A.: Yes. instrumental. that said, you know, I I don't think Atlanta has it in them to put up much more of a fight. Dodgers and Dodgers and four. I think it goes one more and then that's it. I think Dodgers win it out. You? Julio Pabón: So you really think that Atlanta has no chance? Julio A.: I feel like Atlanta's probably I listen, I I I thought the Dodgers were gonna sweep. I thought this was gonna go three games. I I have I I I do not I do not know. I I don't think it looks good for for Atlanta and I don't think they're gonna win it. I don't think they're gonna win tonight. I think Dodgers are too strong. I th Glass now's pitching, he's not historically, you know, the best postseason pitcher for the Dodgers, but like They also, I mean, Freddie Freeman was robbed of a second home run yesterday. DuBon basically pulled a Spider-Man and pulled one out of the stands. And so, like, if if they're going to be hitting like this, Julio Pabón: So he was he came out of nowhere. Julio A.: you got Freeman hitting, you got Geeke here, you got bottom of the lineup hitting. Maxi Muncie's still doing his thing. You got other guys as Cole, but Mookie Betts is starting to come around. I know Shohei's not doing his thing right now, but you sandwich him around these other guys. They just got. They're the opposite of the Rays where the Rays nitpick at you. These the these guys just come at you every inning. You got you know, even the outs are allowed. Like you have to rob home runs from these guys to save yourself. You know what I'm saying? Julio Pabón: Yeah. But and and say and saying a little bit about veterans, you gotta also give some applause, man, to Friedman. Well he's he's also a he's a a senior Julio A.: Freeman. Yeah. Julio Pabón: Friedman, right? He's he's a senior in the team. Julio A.: Like free man, freeman. Julio Pabón: Friedman is a senior in this team. He's like thirty some years old and he seems to always come through for the Julio A.: He he is like thirty something years old. Julio Pabón: team. Julio A.: Yeah, listen, he he's a professional hitter. I think everyone knows that. I I he it's important that he somebody come around. So the fact that it's him, I think you know he's someone to be feared. And I think if you're gonna Pitch around him because you know Shohei's not doing you can't walk to get to Freddie Freeman. You can't walk. What are you gonna walk Wookiee Betts to get to Freddie and or walk Freddie because he's too hot to get to Shohei? it's just all it's it's too much. Julio Pabón: Yeah. That that that that lineup right there, that's a that's a pitch's nightmare. Julio A.: It's too much. It's too much. And I don't think Julio Pabón: That's a pitcher's nightmare. That's what I believe. Julio A.: Oops, sorry. what I'm trying to do now is get us some supplemental content here, but we Julio Pabón: Four. Julio A.: have well you you reminded me that we actually have a a pretty awesome interview with Miguel Rojas that we can share with our people right now. that we did. I don't know if the audio came out much online, and you didn't have a microphone that day, like you know, this was Julio Pabón: the yes, yes. I remember that. That was impromptu. Julio A.: Right? Yeah, exactly. So let me Julio Pabón: No no no professional equipment, but we had the opportunity and that's how we roll with Latino Sports, man. Something else some opportunity comes available, we take it. Let's see what how how it turns out. Julio A.: you ready? Julio Pabón: I'm ready. Julio A.: Can you hear this? Julio Pabón: Very good. I heard it. Julio A.: All right, here we go. Here's our interview with Miguel Rojas at Dodger Stadium. Julio Pabón: Sounds good without a mic. Julio A.: AKA Asia I don't know why I couldn't think of the word in English. He's wearing Dodger merch from their last World Series last year. Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: Three P He knows. He mentioned like zero Caribbeans. Julio Pabón: I know. Julio A.: That's ass. Julio Pabón: I like that question. He liked it too, he's smiling. Julio A.: He wasn't on the squad though. Julio Pabón: Right. Julio A.: Amen. All right. Julio Pabón: Me gusta eso, nosotros unidos podemos hacer la diferencia en el mundo. Julio A.: Yeah, yeah. he won't play for another team. Julio Pabón: That was a very good interview, Julio. I'm glad you were able to salvage that. Julio A.: He w well, you know, you weren't medicated incorrectly, so we were we were okay with But Julio Pabón: Well I had and and the fact that we we didn't have none of the equipment, but thanks to good iPhone, I guess. Julio A.: Yeah, we were able to get something out of it, you know. it was impromptu, that was not scheduled. Julio Pabón: He enjoyed it too. He enjoyed the interview. Julio A.: Yeah, Miguel's a good guy. He wasn't starting that day. So I think he also just had some time. So sh you know, thank you, Mi Miguel, and for giving us the time. That was that was impromptu. And thank you to the Dodgers. Yeah. You took the words right out of my mouth. Julio Pabón: And the and thank you to the Dodgers. Yeah, the media team. They didn't put they didn't harass us. You know, if that if that would have been another team like with the Yankees, they probably would have said, excuse me, you're not you're not supposed to be here. You know, you didn't have no appointment to interview him. Julio A.: Yeah, you didn't this was not scheduled, not sanctions. but he saw us. we saw him, we made eye contact. So that that that kind of just is sometimes is all you need. And you know, it it worked. We gave we gave the Latino the Latino nod, and he was like, I'm in, let's go. Let's give you got five minutes. And we took exactly five minutes. You saw the ticker at the bottom, so shout out to us. Julio Pabón: Yes. Julio A.: you he it is I meant what I said in that interview. It it's like playing for the Beatles. And you heard him when he said, you know, you see this hat all over the world. There are now not the the LA Dodger hat is now what the Yankee hat used to be, which is representing American culture. I I Julio Pabón: You think so? You think the yan the LA hat now is more popular than the Yankee hat, bro? Julio A.: I I think, you know, I think depending on the continent, yeah. When he says worldwide, he's not he's not talking about Europe. Julio Pabón: Well, he's talking more about Asia too. Yeah. Julio A.: He he's talking about Asia and when and when the Dodgers represent in Asia They cannot go Julio Pabón: No, that's huge. Julio A.: anywhere. They they are what the Yankees used to be. They are the rock stars. Shohei leads the charge. He's the front man. But everyone on that team and and they all know them. And people forget that you know this is where you make the money. But this, I don't I would venture to say this is not where the baseball's biggest fans are. You go to these other countries, you go, and this is what the WBC shows. You go to Dominican Republic, you go to Puerto Rico, you go to Venezuela, you go to Korea, you go to Japan. Baseball fans are rabid. They know everything. They watch all the games. There are more people watching WBC games than any of these playoffs. Julio Pabón: Remember remember that interview that you did when you were with Weiss in the Parque Central in Havana, Cuba? And those individuals in Havana, Cuba, they they were like the Howard Cosells. Julio A.: They just argue. Julio Pabón: They were like the the top sport analysts. They were able to tell you they they broke it Julio A.: They w Michael K and Mike and the Mad Dog and you know, they were Julio Pabón: all down. We were like, wow, and this is Cuba. Julio A.: And this is supposedly a country that's blocked off from the world, and they knew statistics, they knew, you know, they knew records, they knew trades, they were gossiping on like you know the ins and outs of this and that. And I'm like, so so you go to these countries and and it's it's so this is where the money is, this is where the best players play, but that doesn't mean that these fans are the biggest fans. So when a guy like Miguel Rojas is like, no, we're you know, I we are brand ambassadors, we are more than just the baseball team. Is what he was is that was what I gathered from that quote. Yeah, is Julio Pabón: That's he's alluding from yeah, he's alluding to that. Julio A.: that we are more than a baseball team. We are representing, right? A culture. And that Dodger blue now is and it it when you win, when you're on the verge of a three-peat, which hasn't happened since the nineties when the Yankees did it, 98, 99, And the Dodgers could be the first National League team ever. Julio Pabón: Nas first national league team, right. Julio A.: Ever. To to go there, this is Uncharted Waters. That is not lost upon Dodger fans across the world. They know what's at stake. Julio Pabón: Will will that be will that be the time that you start wearing an LA hat? Julio A.: You know, when you start entering that kind of Yankee territory, three peats, you know, listen, I'm gonna lay it all out here right now. Well, I gotta represent for New York and LA. I'm a New Yorker. You don't lose your Julio Pabón: 'Cause I all I see you everywhere is NYA. You know, like you you and Julio A.: ties just because you move. Some of us do, some of us don't. Mr. I'm a you know fan of all border equals now at all times. I no, Julio Pabón: I'm a fan I'm a fan of the players, not a fan of the teams. Julio A.: I I I am through and through a Yankee fan in LA. I'm a Knicks fan in LA. Giants fan in LA. And if we have to choose a hockey team, sure, I saw the Rangers win in the 90s. I'm a Ranger fan. But my favorite player in the league is neither a Yankee nor Latino. My favorite player is Shohei Otani, and he's a Dodger. And I live in LA, and I just happen to have the luxury to see this man play often. And you have generational talent. We've seen them, we've seen them every generation. You've got pooholes. You've got Kershaw, you got Clemens and Pedro, you got Clemente and Randy Johnson. You've seen a lot more stars than I have that are generational talents. You can name these are one guy, one name guys, right? Verlander, Clemens. We're starting to see the new crop, Yamamoto's. And then you got guys like Shohei Otani that are what I call once-in-a-century players. The this is the guy that I'm gonna tell my grandkids that I saw. I saw a guy hit home runs at a pace that was like Babe Ruth, but he also would give you six innings and six strikeouts and a sub three ERA. That that to me I don't need take your favorite player in baseball and now make them a pitcher. That's Shohei Otani. Or if your favorite player is a pitcher. Take your favorite pitcher in baseball and then add the only member ever of the 50-50 club. And that's Shohei Otani. So my favorite player is Shohei. Does that mean that if the Yankees play the Dodgers, I want to see Shohei do well? No, I want him go over. You know, I I have serious ties to my Yankees. That doesn't mean I can't enjoy Shohei 360 other days of the year. so my ties are very clear. My son and my wife's very clear too. She's a Yankee fan through and through, will always, always be a Yankee fan, no matter whether the Dodgers are playing or not. Now, she has Also stated that her national league team is the Dodgers. I personally don't have a National League team. If I did, sure, I'll take the Dodgers. I'm in LA. Showhead's my favorite player. They got Kike. Life is good if you're a Dodger fan. But if I Julio Pabón: They got Edwin Diaz. Julio A.: say that now, if I say that now, then I look like a bandwagon fan because they've already got two titles in. So I'm not gonna go ahead and say that they're my national league team. I'm good with that. I'm good with that. Let's see what happens with the Padres and if they beat Milwaukee. If they beat Milwaukee and we got a Dodgers, Padres showdown, then we'll test whether I have my National League team be because they got a Bodigua owner. My son is a Dodger. I mean, is a Padre fan in LA, which is hard to do. And Manny Machado is has been nothing but wonderful to the Pabón family. So I I I can't. Go against all that in the name of Shohei Otani, just because he's my favorite. I got a personal connection. How many people can say that? You know? Julio Pabón: And and and and one other and one other and but and you got a very exciting player also named Fernando Tatis that will rasmatize Julio A.: I love Dante's. Julio Pabón: you with his his defense. Julio A.: See, that's a perfect example. He's a generational talent. But he ain't no showhey. He ain't showhey. He ain't gonna go Julio Pabón: Yeah, yeah. He he he will he will no, no, no, but and Julio A.: out and give you six strong. Julio Pabón: Just watching him play though is exciting, you know, watching him do his defense Julio A.: He's great. Julio Pabón: and all his when and when he hits it and when he hits one of those home runs and and the fact that we know his father, you know. So that adds a little bit to watching the son of a kid that I knew when he was much younger. Julio A.: I am so happy that Tatis Junior doesn't have his daddy's ears. Those were, Julio Pabón: Ha ha ha. Julio A.: those were some. I remember the most defining feature of Fernando Tatis Julio Pabón: But Maddie does. Julio A.: wasn't his swing. It was his ears. And I remember the ears coming out the hat all the time. He was a great hitter, but all I remember is the ear, especially be at the plate in the one ear would stick out the batting helmet. He had to put it back in. Anyway, Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: shout out Fernando. He's a great player. I love him. I'd love to see. I think the Padres take it. I want to see a Padre. I said Julio Pabón: I see it too. Julio A.: it before and I'll say it again. And this is not a hot take at all, but like I really don't want to see the Padres Brewers. I know you do. Padres Brewers in the World Julio Pabón: The Padre is who? Julio A.: Series. Do you want that? I don't want that. I don't even want the Rays Dodge. Nope. Nope. Julio Pabón: no. How about Tampa Bay? How about Tampa Bay and the Brewers? Tampa Bay and the Brewers. MLB will be like Julio A.: If the Yankees don't win it, I wanna see Chicago just run through the World Series and that would be my Cinderella team. Julio Pabón: Well let me tell you something. Chicago, Dodgers, Chicago, Padres would be at the level that MLB would they'd appreciate that. That's too you know, that East Coast, West Coast, you know, they could do a lot. Julio A.: That's a Cinderella team too. So you you they they're they're they're a big market, but they function like a l like a small market team because they you know they're losers, they have a you know, they you've never heard about them in a while. also fun fact, but the last time the White Sox won a World Series was in two thousand and five. Do you know who was a rookie on that team? Julio Pabón: No, but I know who the manager was. Julio A.: Chris Sale. Who's now pitching for the Braves who got rocked by Kike yesterday? Julio Pabón: And I have a picture holding the World Trophy Trophy the World Series trophy with Ozzy, who was their manager back then. Julio A.: we gotta pop that one up. Maybe it'll give the the White Sox some juju before the next podcast. Julio Pabón: I have a picture of that holding that trophy. Julio A.: so we're we're we're almost out of time here. there's there's any final thoughts that you may have. I I want to give one final shout out to the the the biggest little hitter in baseball, Kika Hernandez making history yesterday and tying Aaron Judge Jim Thome and David Ortiz to 17 career postseason home runs. I I I'm speechless as to how I'm speechless. Julio Pabón: That's a that's a shocker for most people. Julio A.: it it really does put you in a category with some rarefied air. And for a career 235 hitter, I I just think it goes Julio Pabón: Seventeen whole runs in the postseason. Julio A.: to show the value of of a guy that you know you if you could just hold out and make it to the playoffs, he's the one you need to plug in no matter where in the lineup, no matter how many. Showhays and Mookies and Freemans, you got, you Julio Pabón: Ha ha Julio A.: know, Kike's the one that's gonna come through. So that's my final thought. I love Kike. That and Max Fried pitching the same day that his wife is supposed to give birth. I think we the Yankees need to win that one. If if if not for the fans, if not for themselves, that you gotta do it for Max. that is one hell of a decision to make, especially in today's baseball game. Julio Pabón: That's a fact. And a shout out to we'll discuss this further in the future, but shout out to my other New York team, the Giants. They're three and one. And that hasn't happened for a while. No. But you know, Julio A.: we can talk about it. We don't have to go let's talk about it. I'm sorry. Julio Pabón: that's that's that's a surprise because we've been like the Knicks, we were disappointed many times with the Giants. Julio A.: Oof. Julio Pabón: but this year it seems, Julio A.: Since Eli. Julio Pabón: yeah, it's sits right now this year, I've been Very much surprised with the team three and one. Julio A.: So we're almost a quarter of the way through the season. We're three and one. We are number one in the NFC East, not the Cowboys. I just love saying that. Not the Cowboys. Julio Pabón: Yes, makes me too. Julio A.: Like it doesn't even matter. But we beat the Cowboys. So I'm okay with that. four games into the season, three and one. Is Jim Harbaugh already a better coach? Or is this just a function of quite frankly, just some good luck? Julio Pabón: Hm. I don't know. I think it's a I think it's a it's coaching is definitely very important. but the the the the fact is look at the players they have, you know, James Winston, you know, Cameroon, Malik, you know, they they've been coming good. Six, you know, a hundred and Julio A.: Jameys they got some ballers. The James Woodson is Julio Pabón: twelve yards last game. Julio A.: Okay. Okay. Look at you coming through with the stats. You really are character. Julio Pabón: So they got a little they they got a little bit of the they got a little bit of the running game. They got a little bit of the running game. Julio A.: I thought you were a Jet fan though. Julio Pabón: well no I like the Jets. I like both. But right now, the Giants are the ones that are up there, three and one. I ha I ha I have Julio A.: They're just trending, they're trending. Julio Pabón: not seen that type of, you know, I've always for the last couple of years, when football started, I My enthusiasm for the game, I just like to watch it, but I didn't think that we we were gonna go anywhere. Remember, we used to have these parties in my house. Julio A.: Great parties. Julio Pabón: yeah, we used to have incredible parties with the Giants every year. Yeah. They used to have, Julio A.: It's what gave me my love for football. It's what gave me my Julio Pabón: you know, all these, you know, friends coming from all over, Juan Gonzalez, other ex-young lords, people from the government. They all come to my to the to our house, to the apartment, watching the game. those were the moments, man, with the Giants. But then they just fizzled out. And basically they were just there. This year, when I started looking, like you were, you know, finding out about Kike 17 home runs the other day when I looked at what's happening with the Giants. And when I saw that they're three and one, I said, wait a minute, I gotta pay more attention to this. I gotta get my giant hat out. My giant hat is still in the closet in New York. I gotta pull it out because I I'll I'll Julio A.: You gotta go back and get it now, yeah. Julio Pabón: be there in a couple of weeks. I'm gonna out there and get it. Julio A.: Well, I I I I'll say you could you know, Jim Harbaugh is gonna get the blame if they don't go well. He it's not the injuries, it's not the strength of schedule, it's not that we played some good defenses. Jim Harbaugh's gonna get the the the cr the the the blame. So I'm gonna go ahead and give him the credit. We he he won we're winning with Jameis Winston. That was not the plan when he came in. The plan was Jackson Dart. and Jackson Dart. was injured and he you know he still finds a way. I think we gotta give him a little credit there. I think we we're I Julio Pabón: Two hundred and fifty yards, Julio, three touchdowns and you know, unfortunately two interceptions but Julio A.: Yeah, well, that James Winston is gonna give you that. He's gonna give you, he's gonna he's definitely not afraid to throw. Sometimes I think he forgets. He's been on so many teams in the NFL. I think he forgets what uniform he's wearing because he just gives it to the other team. It's not even like they try. It's not like an amazing catch that the defense has to make, or like a whoa, he put it in his hands and they no. Sometimes it's the guy standing right there and he just gets the ball. James Winston Julio Pabón: Boom. Julio A.: will will give you those heartaches. So we gotta ride with him for the moment, unfortunately. I don't want to rain on the Giants parade, but I I don't see them doing much better than this. So let's take our wins now that we can get Are they a playoff team? I don't think so. I think someone three and one's a good start. Three and one's a good start. Let's see the next four games. Julio Pabón: Well, don't rule them out yet. Three and one is a pretty good s a pretty good statistic to be. Who their next game is against the Chargers? Julio A.: Their next game is not against the Chargers. Their Julio Pabón: No? Julio A.: next game, where do their games? Their next game is against the Commanders. They are going to Washington, where Jaden Daniels, I do believe, is expected to start for the Commanders. They're gonna get their quarterback back. Bryant Burns, our defensive anchor, if I'm not mistaken, is still injured. So, That one might be tough for us, but not not winnable. We could be four or one. In which case Julio Pabón: Yeah. Julio A.: I may have to change my tune. Let's give it another week. I I but I think four games, I think w we got lucky on a few instances. I I don't I don't see the Giants. I don't Julio Pabón: You're giving it you're attributing it to luck. I don't believe this. Julio A.: see the Giants. I don't see the Giants just going anyway. Julio Pabón: Three and one is not exactly luck. Two and one maybe, but three and one, pa luck, no. Julio A.: Valid, valid point. we'll see. On the West Coast here, we have a little bit of a different problem. if you're a San Diego Charger, there will forever be the San Diego Chargers to me. I think it's silly that the Chargers are in Los Angeles. They are not LA's team. LA already has a team. In fact, LA has two teams because the unofficial team of LA is still the Raiders, but they have the Rams. Julio Pabón: Even though how many how many miles they are away? Julio A.: And we don't need the Chargers. We don't need the Chargers, but the Chargers right now are free falling. Their quarterback is free falling. My fantasy squad is free falling because of it. I've had Justin Herbert for three straight weeks, and he's been straight. Booty, as my son would say. I I thank God we have the Rams. go giants, but I don't see them going very far. Go Chargers, but not go chargers. I think Quentin Johnson needs to find a new home. I think Justin Herbert needs a little bit more protection, but also like cause you know, just needs to like show off that arm a little bit, I think. Football's Julio Pabón: Yes. Julio A.: hard. I can't really judge. I I don't know the plays like that very well, but I could I know what I see. I know that eye test. And right now Justin Herbert don't look good. Maybe Justin Herbert can come to the Giants. Maybe that's the plan. Maybe I'll throw that into the universe. Cause we, we, Julio Pabón: Last minute trade. Julio A.: we, you know, I think both teams need help right now at the quarterback position for different reasons. I think one needs a change of scenery, and I think one is needs a quarterback that isn't gonna run himself into injury every four games. So, Julio Pabón: That's true. Julio A.: was super fun. And basically for saying that he's never gonna sign with another team now that he knows that the Dodgers exist. I don't think he knew what it meant to be a Dodger until he was inside that locker room. He's like, we have a private jet that's just for the players? Like, no coaching staff, no press, no just us. Like, I I can't. What am I gonna do? Play for the Marlins again? so that was funny to me. Otherwise. Thank you so much and we will see you next week. Peace. Julio Pabón: Next week. God bless.
