- 0:02Hello, welcome to He's hot, but something is off.
- 0:08Oh, I'm tired. I'm tired.
- 0:11It's been so far Wednesday night as I record this.
- 0:16It's been kind of a busy week. A few speed bumps have appeared
- 0:22in one of my businesses. Hey, that's just how things
- 0:26roll. You know, I'm learning so much
- 0:29running a business. You know, I'm a new
- 0:32entrepreneur. I'm I don't have like a ton of
- 0:34experience running businesses, nevermind starting one up.
- 0:38Some businesses are easier to start than others.
- 0:41So with the skin care one, it's definitely not the easiest type
- 0:47of business to start up. And a lot of things can go
- 0:50wrong, especially with logistics and things like that.
- 0:53And I've never done anything remotely like it before.
- 0:56So I'm learning some lessons. I hear every so often, you know,
- 1:01you go on Reddit or whatever, or you have friends or know some
- 1:04people that have started businesses, you will sometimes
- 1:07hear them tell stories of, you know, some costly mistakes that
- 1:11they learned when they were first starting out.
- 1:13But I feel like a lot of entrepreneurs have those types
- 1:18of stories. So I've made, I made a couple
- 1:24with this business and I'm kind of still in the process of like
- 1:28I've learned those lessons, but I'm still in the process of like
- 1:31fixing them because sometimes, you know, fixing things take a
- 1:35little bit of time and a little extra money.
- 1:38But just knowing that, well, at least I'm telling myself a lot
- 1:44of entrepreneurs out there, a lot of you know, successful
- 1:47business people when they first were in their earlier in their
- 1:52careers, when they were starting up businesses or when their
- 1:54business were, you know, in the early stages.
- 1:57A lot of them have gone through the same thing of, you know,
- 1:59you're never going to be able to know everything, have all the
- 2:03right experience and skills to do everything perfectly the
- 2:05first time. Everyone, you know, a lot of a
- 2:08lot of entrepreneurs make costly mistakes early on in their
- 2:13careers, but you know, they all learn from it and they are now
- 2:16successful business people. So I'm kind of keeping that in
- 2:20mind that, you know, sometimes when you go from crawling to
- 2:25walking to running, sometimes you stumble when you fall, but
- 2:28you pick yourself up and you keep going.
- 2:31And it's just kind of sort of like life, you know, sometimes
- 2:36you make mistakes, sometimes you stumble, sometimes it rains,
- 2:39sometimes it pours. But you shake it off, pick
- 2:43yourself up, keep going. While it's a little bit lighter,
- 2:47credit card bills a little thicker.
- 2:51But yeah, I'm kind of keeping it in in that frame, if you will.
- 2:57So, yeah. So that's what's kept me really
- 2:59busy so far this week. And it's going to keep me super
- 3:03busy, I think, for the rest of this month.
- 3:07And I won't necessarily have any.
- 3:10The fruits of that labor won't necessarily necessarily show
- 3:14until later, later on. And there's no fingers crossed.
- 3:18It's still like there are no guarantees of starting a
- 3:21business. It it's very much like it, it
- 3:24could be a flop. We just don't know.
- 3:26We just have to like, you have to have some level of belief
- 3:30that it's going to work out If, if you, if you believe or let
- 3:35yourself think that this is going to go nowhere like that,
- 3:40it's never going to succeed with that mindset.
- 3:43Like if you don't try, it's never going to get off the
- 3:45ground. So I'm trying to keep it
- 3:47positive anyways. That's, that's something I just
- 3:49want to like get off my head, get off my head right off the
- 3:53top just because like I, I, I have thought about should we
- 3:56just skip recording a podcast? I feel like I'm so busy.
- 3:59But hey, if I have time for the gym, I can sit down and talk for
- 4:02like 20 minutes. One thing I did want to talk
- 4:05about and I'm going to leave it till like a little bit later,
- 4:08but I don't want this to be a super long podcast because I am
- 4:12really like kind of sort of busy.
- 4:13I, I think last week's podcast was like what, what Every
- 4:18podcast is longer than I intend. 95% of the podcasts are longer
- 4:23than I intend. Even the one I recorded, even
- 4:25the one when I was having issues with my tongue.
- 4:30This is back and I'm looking at my list back in like March, and
- 4:33I just wanted to record like a little message to let everybody
- 4:36know like, hey, we're not really going to have an episode this
- 4:38week even that was like 8 minutes of me talking.
- 4:42So yeah, I am going to talk about a little later on my
- 4:47thoughts on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
- 4:5410. So we just wrapped up the second
- 4:59bracket and there's some juices of nesting and bracket, but I'm
- 5:03going to leave it like till like a little later on because I know
- 5:07not all of you watch RuPaul's Drag Race and not all of you are
- 5:09following it anyways. So I always leave it till the
- 5:12end so that you can listen to the other parts of the podcast.
- 5:15And then when I switch to talking about Drag Race, you
- 5:19guys can all just tune up and like you won't be like really
- 5:22missing anything else. I don't really, I don't really
- 5:26I'm so I'm just so tired in my head.
- 5:28I don't really have am I running out of stuff to talk about?
- 5:34Am I running out of stuff to talk about?
- 5:36It might be or or maybe not, I don't know.
- 5:40I think I think when your head when there's like so much going
- 5:45on, I feel like for me anyways, it's like it's hard to focus on
- 5:50like one thing in your head. Like there's so much like ADHD
- 5:54Ness in my head. However, I will say though, just
- 5:58now earlier today, earlier this Wednesday afternoon when I'm
- 6:02recording this, I was on ChatGPT for legit 3 hours pretty much
- 6:09continuously. I, I got up for like water and
- 6:12for like the bathroom like once to pee and I think that was it.
- 6:17But I was with some of these like business stuff.
- 6:22I was trying to use ChatGPT, not for it to like do my homework,
- 6:28but I just needed to like do something like do some
- 6:31brainstorming of stuff, something that's kind of
- 6:33creative. I'm not like, I'm not creative
- 6:36in like I'm not really a creative person.
- 6:39Let's just not mince words. So I was trying to like
- 6:42brainstorm some stuff, which was like something I didn't really
- 6:45feel like brainstorming, but it was more like a creative thing.
- 6:49I'm not really don't have like a creative brain.
- 6:51So I was trying to use Chad GBT to like help me brainstorm some
- 6:56ideas, which is like really, really useful.
- 6:59I try to use Gemini, which is like Google's AI.
- 7:02And for the thing I was trying to brainstorm Google, Gemini
- 7:07just wasn't as good at it. But I have used Gemini before.
- 7:11I feel like Gemini is good for the things that Google was good
- 7:15for. I think Google is really good
- 7:17for more things that are like knowledge based or like
- 7:22reasoning based, but I just needed to do something that's
- 7:25creative. That was I needed one of those
- 7:28and ChatGPT was just so much better than that.
- 7:33So I literally spent, it was like 3 hours, like 3 solid hours
- 7:38on my laptop, on my couch, just on ChatGPT, like going back and
- 7:43forth, back and forth, back and forth.
- 7:44Sometimes it's funny because sometimes you get, you talk so
- 7:47much or like you've been interacting with Chad GBT for so
- 7:50long that it just like stops responding.
- 7:53Like it's just like reach its memory limit for that particular
- 7:57conversation. So for the three hours I was on
- 8:01it, I only had to reset it twice, I guess like only twice.
- 8:04But yeah, but like I, I was really dreading this thing I
- 8:09needed to come up with, but actually got like several decent
- 8:15ish ideas that I like out of like this back and forth 3 hour
- 8:19brainstorming session with ChatGPT that I think that's
- 8:23good. So I, I can't talk super much
- 8:26about this thing I'm doing, unfortunately, you know,
- 8:30internal corporate stuff, internal corporate business
- 8:33project. But yeah, it was actually quite
- 8:36helpful. This is the only time I think I
- 8:38found AI particularly helpful. You know, when you search Google
- 8:42and they have the AI overviews, which is go into Google search
- 8:47for whatever and then sometimes at the top of search results,
- 8:50Google will try to answer your query using AI.
- 8:56Sometimes it'll pop that up. That's called the AI overview.
- 8:58Sometimes it can do it, sometimes it doesn't.
- 9:00But I've been using that one. I guess I've been using it a
- 9:02lot. Not like I've been trying to use
- 9:04it, but like it pops at the very top of the search itself.
- 9:07So it's like just right in your face when you do a Google search
- 9:09half the time depending when you're searching for.
- 9:12So that's as much as that's as much as I use AI on the regular.
- 9:17I don't I this the only time. Today was the only time that I
- 9:21really used ChatGPT. I haven't really tried to like
- 9:24use it before. I was trying to come up with a
- 9:30graphic for something recently. I think a couple of weeks ago I
- 9:34was trying to come up with a graphic for something.
- 9:37And I know that with a lot of AI these days, you can give it a
- 9:41prompt or like a textual description.
- 9:43And then you can say, oh, draw me something that looks like
- 9:46this or draw me this thing with like this type of style or
- 9:50whatever. You can give it a prompt and
- 9:52it'll draw you a picture. So I was like, I need to come up
- 9:56with like a graphic for something.
- 9:58And I was like, oh, and I'm not a graphic designer really.
- 10:01Seriously, I'm not. So I was like, oh, let's throw
- 10:04it at AI and see what sticks. So I did Gemini again.
- 10:08I was like, oh, this doesn't look that good.
- 10:10The ChatGPT and like went back and forth and it just like very
- 10:14randomly came up with some sort of graphical style that like
- 10:21really resonated with me. It's like, oh, that looks cool.
- 10:24It's not something I would have been able to come myself, but
- 10:27like that's actually kind of my style and actually really works
- 10:30for like this this graphic that I'm trying to create.
- 10:33I wouldn't wasn't able to get ChatGPT to create the exact
- 10:37graphic that I needed for this project, but it came up with a
- 10:42style like a a visual style that I really liked.
- 10:46So what I actually did was I grabbed that graphic from
- 10:50ChatGPT, you can download it. And then I dumped it into like a
- 10:54drawing program and I just traced over what ChatGPT gave
- 11:00me. And that way I was able to make
- 11:03little edits like change some of the colors and change some of
- 11:05the lines because they didn't give me exactly what I needed.
- 11:08I needed to alter it. But by tracing over it, I
- 11:11basically was able to create like from scratch, like a new
- 11:15original, and I was able to tweak it enough so that I had
- 11:19the exact kind of graphic that I needed, also tweaked all the
- 11:22colors. And I also got a much higher
- 11:25resolution version of the file. But when you have the AI
- 11:29generate you some sort of image, it's not very high res.
- 11:33And I needed something that's like very sharp, not pixelated,
- 11:36very high resolution for this particular thing.
- 11:39Yeah. So that was like two or three
- 11:40weeks ago. Yeah.
- 11:42So I guess I, I guess lately I've been using AI more.
- 11:48So yeah, I was looking at they have all these new features that
- 11:54you can use now where like AI will like summarize your emails
- 11:57or like summarize the notifications on your phone.
- 12:00I don't have that because my phone is like I have iPhone 14
- 12:03and only like the really new iPhones can do AI or like the
- 12:08Android phones do AI now as well.
- 12:10But yeah, my phone is really not, I have an Apple Watch
- 12:14Series 5. I'm I'm not really dying to
- 12:21upgrade anything, to be really honest.
- 12:24Like honestly, I was like sometimes when I do collapse
- 12:27with people, like other creators, a lot of people I
- 12:30collab with, they have an iPhone 15 or iPhone 16.
- 12:33Usually it's like a Pro or like a Pro Max.
- 12:34It's almost always like a, a pro or Pro Max.
- 12:37And I have a 14 Pro Max and I like, you know, would be like
- 12:40setting up cameras to film something or whatever.
- 12:42So like a lot of the time the question comes up that, oh,
- 12:47whose phone are we gonna use? And it's like, what phone do you
- 12:49have? It's like I was 16 plus.
- 12:50Like we're using your phone. Most of the time we're not using
- 12:52mine because they have like the newer phone, which should
- 12:55theoretically have like the nicer camera.
- 12:58So, but sometimes I'll like use their phone to like just set up
- 13:01the camera or like set up the position or whatever.
- 13:03It's like when I use this, like it doesn't feel any different
- 13:07because all the iPhones, unless it's a super ancient iPhone,
- 13:10like an iPhone 6 or something, it's all running the same
- 13:12software. And I don't really care to have
- 13:16AI on my phone. And like the Apple AI, it's not
- 13:19even that good to be really honest.
- 13:21Like Google Gemini on Android. It's like much more helpful than
- 13:25Apple AI on the iPhone, by the way.
- 13:27So it's like otherwise like it doesn't even like it doesn't
- 13:29feel like a very different phone.
- 13:31Like physically on the outside doesn't feel like a very
- 13:33different phone. It doesn't look like a very
- 13:36different phone. The software is like pretty much
- 13:39the same minus like the AI stuff you get on like the newest
- 13:42iPhones, which I don't want or need anyways.
- 13:45So it's like, why should I be upgrading my phone?
- 13:48The only thing that my phone is falling down a little bit is
- 13:53that because it's like what, like a 2 1/2 year old phone
- 13:58which is not even that old. Honestly, a 2 1/2 year old phone
- 14:01is not that old. The battery over time holds less
- 14:05and less of a charge. So it's only at like 80%.
- 14:08Now it can hold only 80% of the charge as it could when it was
- 14:12new. There's like a little in the
- 14:14settings you can see how much percentage versus new your
- 14:17battery is still holding. So it does happen more likely
- 14:21these days that I'll hit low battery before the end of the
- 14:26day and that never used to happen.
- 14:28So when I was at EDC, for example, the first night, Friday
- 14:32night EDC, I went to the festival with like 90% battery
- 14:38or something. I made sure to like charge it
- 14:40up. And then by the end of the
- 14:42night, as I was like leaving the festival, I think I was like, it
- 14:45was like, I think the low battery had just turned on.
- 14:48It was like 20%. And I was like that that never
- 14:51used to happen. And even on like a regular day,
- 14:54the new thing that I do, I guess that I don't used to do is I'll
- 14:57listen to the podcast on my phone.
- 14:59So a typical morning for me is like, OK, I wake up, brush my
- 15:03teeth, washing my face in the bathroom.
- 15:05But a lot of times nowadays I'll, I'll play a podcast on my
- 15:09iPhone and I'll use the speakerphone on the phone to
- 15:12listen to it. So like I turn up the volume,
- 15:14Spotify is playing something, I'm on my Wi-Fi or it's like
- 15:17downloaded. And then I'll be like brushing
- 15:20my teeth, washing my face, doing whatever I'm doing in the
- 15:22bathroom. And then I'll go to the kitchen
- 15:25to cook breakfast and then I'll be listening to the podcast
- 15:27while I cook breakfast. And then, you know, when I'm
- 15:30eating breakfast, I'm probably watching TV.
- 15:32So like I'll turn the podcast off.
- 15:33But sometimes when I'm like just doing something in the kitchen
- 15:36or like doing like cleaning the house, doing a chore, vacuuming
- 15:41or like cleaning dishes or whatever, I'll put on the
- 15:44podcast. But that's kind of like a good
- 15:45time to like listen to something.
- 15:48So also when I go to bed, sometimes, a lot of times when I
- 15:51go to bed, I crawl to bed and there's like a bunch of
- 15:54different websites that I'll like read and go through while
- 15:58I'm in bed. And I'll do that until I get
- 16:00tired, which is probably like 30 minutes maybe.
- 16:03And then when I'm tired, feels tired, if we're sleepy, then I,
- 16:06I'll put the phone away, turn the lights off, go to bed.
- 16:09Once in a while instead of surfing websites, I'll put on
- 16:12the podcast and I'll just like listen to the podcast.
- 16:14It's nice that in Spotify you can have a sleep timer so that
- 16:19Spotify will keep playing for like 15, thirty, 45 minutes or
- 16:22till the end of an episode and it it like stops playing.
- 16:25That's really nice, really handy feature actually.
- 16:27And I think playing podcast drains my battery more than I
- 16:31used to before. But I never used to listen to a
- 16:33podcast like this. I think it's only like since
- 16:36maybe the beginning of this year that I start like listening to
- 16:40podcast from my phone before I would like maybe just listen to
- 16:44a podcast just when I'm walking to and from the gym with
- 16:47earbuds. And I also do that too.
- 16:49So a lot of the time I'm playing a podcast on my phone and I
- 16:52guess Spotify is really draining the battery.
- 16:54I didn't think playing a downloaded podcast from Spotify
- 16:59would drain your battery that much.
- 17:00But when when I look at the battery stats, it's like, OK,
- 17:03just ate up like 40% of the battery.
- 17:05Just Spotify. It's not like I'm playing a
- 17:07video podcast. It's not I'm playing, you know,
- 17:09it's like it's literally like it's already downloaded.
- 17:12It's not hitting up the cellular, it's not hitting up
- 17:14the Wi-Fi. It's just like spoken word.
- 17:16I don't know. I don't the Spotify suck up that
- 17:20much battery on your phone too. When you're playing a podcast.
- 17:22Is it Spotify? Should I use a different app it
- 17:25or is it just my phone? I don't know.
- 17:27But like if I'm not careful, even just a regular day, a
- 17:29regular day, I'm on Wi-Fi all the time.
- 17:32I'm working at home when I'm working like the phone, I don't
- 17:35even touch the phone. I'm just on my laptop like I'm
- 17:37on the computer. I'm not really touching the
- 17:39phone or so I listen to some podcasts.
- 17:42I'm on the computer most of the day.
- 17:44Even when I'm not working at home, I'm like watching TV or
- 17:46like on my laptop. I'm not like, you know, spending
- 17:49like hours and hours on TikTok or Instagram.
- 17:51I don't really do TikTok. So I think maybe it's just my
- 17:53phone is crapping out. I if that new iPhone comes out,
- 17:57I kind of want to switch back to Android.
- 17:59I used to use Android all the time, but I feel like given that
- 18:02I'm like video from an iPhone is still like much better than
- 18:06doing videos on an Android. It's like the video quality is
- 18:09just like so much. So I'm not like an Apple fanboy,
- 18:12but like I think for my usage, an iPhone just turns out to be
- 18:17the better choice, even though I kind of prefer a lot of things
- 18:20for Android. But anyways, if the new iPhone
- 18:2317 coming out this year, if there's no big changes, I kind
- 18:27of sort of don't want to upgrade.
- 18:29I mean, and I'm hoping my battery kind of sort of hangs on
- 18:32and it just doesn't like crop out at like the three-year mark
- 18:36and I'll hit the three-year mark whenever the new iPhone this
- 18:38year comes out. So, yeah.
- 18:40So the Apple Watch, same thing with the Apple Watch, like it's
- 18:46like a 5 year old. It's a 5 and we're on the 10 now
- 18:49I think. So like that's five years.
- 18:51I guess it's still like I can't really tell a big difference
- 18:54between like my 5 year old Apple Watch 5 and like the new Apple
- 18:59Watch 10. Like honestly, they don't they
- 19:02haven't changed the design in I don't know if they ever really
- 19:05changed the design of the Apple Watch.
- 19:06You can get the Apple Watch outro, but just like a, a a very
- 19:09different looking one. My brother has 1.
- 19:10He doesn't do anything sporty. He just goes to work and goes
- 19:13home. He plays tennis, but that's you
- 19:15hardly need to get an Apple Watch out.
- 19:17He just wanted like a bigger watch.
- 19:19Yeah, but I'm not gonna, I'm gonna use that Apple Watch
- 19:22literally till it dies. It is a little buggy though that
- 19:26Apple Watch sometimes if when I try to start an exercise on it
- 19:30in the activity app, it would just freeze.
- 19:33It will literally freeze for like a whole minute and doesn't
- 19:36do anything and it won't start the workout or it won't start
- 19:40the activity. I told it to start.
- 19:41It's glitchy. I just had to reset it.
- 19:44So I don't know if it's going to fix it.
- 19:45But like if that Apple Watch, it's five years old, it still it
- 19:47still works otherwise, like it still does everything and like
- 19:51it did stop getting the new OS updates though.
- 19:53So it's like, oh, it's like I don't it's not getting the
- 19:57updates anymore. And the battery also there's a 5
- 19:59year old battery. The battery does drink pretty
- 20:01quickly. If I'm like out and about for
- 20:04more than like a few hours, I probably need to like just put
- 20:07the whole thing in low power mode from the get go otherwise
- 20:10it will die. So if I don't want to like spend
- 20:15400 bucks on like a new, even if I get like a refurbished newer
- 20:20Apple Watch, that's still at least like 300 bucks.
- 20:24You know, even I don't buy a brand new, a brand new one's
- 20:26like at least 400 basically for like 1 of the base models, not
- 20:29like one of the nicer models, like at least 350 or 4.
- 20:31They get they get discounts sometimes, but like 300
- 20:34something dollars. I don't pay like 300 something
- 20:36dollars for a watch that doesn't really feel or look or function
- 20:40very differently. It's kind of it's saying that
- 20:43that's why I haven't been upgrading my phone.
- 20:45It's like some people upgrade their phones all the time.
- 20:47I think it's less popular than that, but like if I went, if I
- 20:50my phone broke right now, that would be, I would be like I'd be
- 20:52pissed off because I did not want to be forced to buy an
- 20:56iPhone 15 or iPhone 16, but it would be like several $100.
- 21:02Even though I didn't buy a new, I bought a refurbishment, I
- 21:04bought a used one. It would still be like 5-6
- 21:06seven, $800.00, but like it wouldn't really feel any
- 21:11different. So I just like paid 800 bucks
- 21:14for like no reason. So I'm like hoping and praying
- 21:17my current phone it the battery doesn't crap out, it doesn't
- 21:20die. The screen.
- 21:22I, I've dropped it so many times I don't use the case on my
- 21:24phone. I've dropped it so so, so many
- 21:27times. Somehow nothing has cracked on
- 21:31it. Everything still works like I,
- 21:33I, I, I've dropped it on every kind of pavement, concrete,
- 21:36asphalt. It hasn't been dropped from like
- 21:38super high. It's only ever been dropped from
- 21:40like, I don't know, 4 feet above the ground, but still it's been
- 21:44dropped at like circuit parties at music festivals, like at from
- 21:49like every angle. I think recently I dropped it on
- 21:53like tile floors, hard tile floors, and it went like face
- 21:57down. You don't want if you drop your
- 21:58phone face down without a case, it makes a very distinct sound.
- 22:02And I was like, oh shit, that glass must be cracked.
- 22:05And it's like, no, the glass is actually pretty good.
- 22:08There's like some very, very minor hairline scratches here
- 22:11and there, but there's no like there's not even really any
- 22:15chips. Like the framer on the side is
- 22:18like a little bit chipped, but like, that's pretty much it.
- 22:20So yeah, please, please iPhone don't die.
- 22:24Honestly, it this iPhone, it's, I haven't had a phone for this
- 22:29long for like a long time because like I said, it used to
- 22:32be that it was much more popular to like upgrade your phone every
- 22:37year. I remember like 10 years ago in
- 22:40like the 20 tens, pretty much every year, I would be, well, my
- 22:45work would pretty much give me a new phone every single year or
- 22:47sometimes 2. So every year there'll be like a
- 22:49new phone, new phone, new phone, new phone every year.
- 22:51And it wasn't until about like 5 or 6 years ago where we, I feel
- 22:57anyways, in my opinion, we got to the point where like phones
- 23:00weren't being so much different anymore, at least like not the
- 23:04iPhones, like the iPhones that have been released in like the
- 23:06last, I don't know, three or four years have not been like
- 23:10super vastly so different. I know people can have flip
- 23:15phones and foldable phones on like the Android side.
- 23:18My brother messaged me and was asking me about like, oh, what I
- 23:21thought about switching back to Android because he kind of sort
- 23:24of he's not has an iPhone, but he kind of sort of wants to
- 23:26switch to Android too because he's kind of interested in
- 23:29getting like a foldable phone. I told him like, it's really not
- 23:31worth it for you. Like don't do it in his specific
- 23:34case anyways, knowing how he uses a phone and kind of, yeah,
- 23:37all that stuff. Anyways, yeah.
- 23:40So thank you for joining me for another episode of the podcast
- 23:46where, again, I talk about whatever I want.
- 23:50And it was nice to talk about just something completely
- 23:53random, really. Besides Drag Race, I had nothing
- 23:57I really specifically wanted to talk about besides venting a
- 24:01little bit about how busy my week has been.
- 24:07Yeah, and also like the AI stuff.
- 24:08That's what it's like. I find it so interesting.
- 24:10I really wish that AI would be more useful on a phone.
- 24:13I think they're working very hard on doing that.
- 24:15I feel like some of the Apple AI stuff on the phones, it's like,
- 24:19I don't need it to summarize my notifications.
- 24:21I don't really want to have that much access, honestly.
- 24:24Yeah, but I'm actually curious. The newer Google phones with
- 24:28Gemini running on it, I feel like some of the stuff Google
- 24:32has showed with Gemini on Android, it seems like it would
- 24:37be useful. Like on some of the newer
- 24:39Android phones you can have a live conversation with Gemini
- 24:42like as if you were talking to a person and like basically real
- 24:46time verbally converse with Gemini.
- 24:51I've seen like demos of it. I've not tried it, but I don't
- 24:53have like a new Android phone, but that seems like something
- 24:56that maybe could be useful in some situations.
- 25:01So that looks like pretty nifty. Anyways, yeah, I, I don't know.
- 25:06What was this entertainment for you?
- 25:08Maybe yes, maybe no. This is one of those days where
- 25:11like, you know what, I'm going to sit down in front of the mic,
- 25:14I'm going to turn the camera on, and whatever comes out of my
- 25:17mouth is going to come out of my mouth.
- 25:20All right? If you made it this long, it
- 25:23means or you Fast forward it here, it maybe means that you
- 25:27wanted to talk. You want to hear me talk about
- 25:30RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 10 and specifically the second
- 25:35bracket because I've got some thoughts.
- 25:37So let's dig into it, OK? It was crazy what mistress did.
- 25:45It wasn't George's that came up with that plan.
- 25:48Like, are you kidding me? Of course not.
- 25:51It was crazy that Mistress did that in Episode 4, the first
- 25:58episode of the second bracket that they're all in two things.
- 26:02So it's it's crazy because she is like a master manipulator.
- 26:08Like the way that they were sitting on the couch at the
- 26:11beginning of what is it like the second episode of that bracket
- 26:16where like they were giving each other the MVQ points for the
- 26:19first time. The way the way Mistress got was
- 26:23like just puppet mastering everyone in front of everyone,
- 26:26but they're all sitting on the couch, every one of them, like
- 26:29all six of them. The way Mistress is able to do
- 26:32that, that's crazy. That was crazy.
- 26:37And it's kind of a controversial thing to do.
- 26:41And I think some of the fan reactions were, oh, that is like
- 26:46a dirty game to play. It's like, that's not fair and
- 26:50it's not right. I've always been of the thought
- 26:54that when it comes to All Stars and you have stuff like this
- 26:59where like you have points that you need to get or, you know,
- 27:03even by like the regular All Stars rules where you have to
- 27:06draw lipsticks and kind of sort of vote each other out.
- 27:09I feel like at the end of the day, there's no right or wrong
- 27:13way to really play it. It is a competition and it's
- 27:18also TV. So when it's a competition,
- 27:22there is some aspect of being competitive.
- 27:25When you're there, you're not there for like shifts and
- 27:27giggles. I mean, maybe some Queens are
- 27:30there where they're prior, like Ben de la Creme.
- 27:34Clearly the priority wasn't to be competitive and it wasn't to
- 27:38like get to the end and it wasn't to win the crown.
- 27:41The party was, you know, acting and behaving a certain way,
- 27:44having your personal values, which again, is totally legit.
- 27:47Like I said, there's no, I don't really don't think there's like
- 27:49a right or wrong play right or wrong way to play All Stars,
- 27:55right? I think it's fine for people
- 27:57that, you know, the goal is to be a little more cutthroat and
- 28:03to get to the top. And there are people that, you
- 28:06know, like, yeah, they they want to, they want to get more points
- 28:10and they want to make it a top, but only within the confines of
- 28:15what they think is acceptable, their own values.
- 28:17And that's going to be different for everybody.
- 28:19But I think you know what Mistress did, given the bracket
- 28:25points system of the season, I think it's kind of smart.
- 28:31Not that the other girls are dumb, but like it's one way for
- 28:34them to play it when the goal is OK, how can we maximize the
- 28:39number of points that we're going to get right?
- 28:41And it played out because once they, once Mistress and Georges
- 28:45pull that shenanigan, they were up to 4 1/2 points.
- 28:50And that put them, like way ahead of everyone except I think
- 28:57they put him. I think it put him up at the
- 28:58very front because if you were the top 2, if you win the if you
- 29:04win the challenge that that episode and you were top 2, you
- 29:08would both get 2 points. And if you win the lip sync, you
- 29:11would get three. OK, I forgot.
- 29:14I didn't go to school for math. I did have an engineering
- 29:17degree, but I didn't go over to school for math.
- 29:19Yeah, but that put him so far ahead.
- 29:21And in the second episode, the main challenge for that, they
- 29:24both won. So that's just put the OK, I
- 29:27think that's how they got the four and a half.
- 29:30Yeah, that is how they got the 4 1/2.
- 29:31But you can see like, you know, you're not necessarily going to
- 29:34like win everything, right? I think the strategy, the math,
- 29:39basically the math that Mistress went through was like, OK, it
- 29:45was episode where we where I don't win.
- 29:48We need to like let let's do something to get as many MVQ
- 29:53points as possible, Even if you can call it shady or whatever.
- 29:58I'm not saying I would do that, but like, I, I don't think it's,
- 30:03I don't think it's like unfair. It's a, it's a, it's a game,
- 30:07It's a competition. If you're going to play in a
- 30:08cutthroat way, it I think if someone was being like super,
- 30:12super shady about it and like if it's just were to throw people
- 30:18under the bus and like, you know, before, before the main
- 30:23challenge, for example, if mistress had done something to
- 30:26like sabotage other people's performances on stage or like to
- 30:32do something to like hinder the performance or the runways or
- 30:36whatever, I think that's unfair. It is super shady what she did
- 30:42when they're all on the couch. But you know, like, for example,
- 30:46I'm rewatching like All Stars too, just like just to rewatch
- 30:49it just to whatever, have some in the back.
- 30:51But like Fifi on that season, you know, she was kind of sort
- 30:57of like going around and like kind of planting little seeds in
- 31:00people's ears about like, Hey, I don't I don't know about your
- 31:03performance that that you're practicing right now.
- 31:06And like, Oh, I don't know about that accent.
- 31:08It's like, you know, maybe not the best accent you should be
- 31:10using. It's like, Oh, I don't know
- 31:11about that dress girl. Like to play mind games.
- 31:16I think that's like a little different thing I feel like, not
- 31:21necessarily. Like, I mean, OK, we can't
- 31:24debate. We can't debate VV on Season 2.
- 31:27That's like, we don't have time for that.
- 31:28But very shady. But I don't think it was like
- 31:33wrong, if that makes sense. Like, there's no rule book for
- 31:39how you should be playing the game.
- 31:44Like, they actually do have rules and things like that.
- 31:47Like on Drag Race, more like the production side of things.
- 31:50No control visits. But yeah, I don't think it was
- 31:53like, wrong or unfair, you know, like, just.
- 31:57Yeah. So I thought was fine.
- 31:59It was outrageous. It was like shady, but I didn't
- 32:03think it was like wrong. And they clearly Mistress and
- 32:09George's won the second challenge in the second episode
- 32:13of the bracket and then the final, the final episode of the
- 32:17bracket. So the one that aired last week,
- 32:20I was watching it, I was pausing it because I, I wanted to do the
- 32:24math in my head, like, OK, OK, if these people win and this is
- 32:31like how the math could shake out.
- 32:33So I was like trying to like pause it and like do the math in
- 32:35my head. And before they even gave up the
- 32:38MVQ points on the last episode at the end of that episode, once
- 32:43I knew it was George's and Lydia, that one, and I paused it
- 32:48there and I was like, OK, the only way it was going to be
- 32:51mistress or maybe someone else that could go up and claim the
- 32:57last remaining spot in the top three to move to the semifinals.
- 33:00And I was doing the math and I was like, OK, so I already knew,
- 33:04OK, if Tina and Nicole gave their points to Kerry and it was
- 33:13already foreshadowed in the workroom earlier that there was
- 33:16a chance, quote UN quote, that mistress might give a point to
- 33:20Kerry. And like they were like doing,
- 33:23they're getting ready in the workroom.
- 33:24So like everybody heard it, OK? So I knew that OK because of
- 33:30that foreshadowing, like if Nicole and Tina would give their
- 33:33point to carry and if Mistress also give her point to carry,
- 33:37then Kerry would have 1/2 point more than Mistress.
- 33:41But that depends on Mistress giving her point to carry.
- 33:46And when I realized it would depend on that, I automatically
- 33:49knew Mistress would never do that regardless what Mistress
- 33:53said in the workroom to carry about.
- 33:55Like you know what, I would consider giving you my point.
- 33:58I knew that for sure Mistress would have ran through the math
- 34:04and double check them at this point to know that if she had
- 34:10given her point to carry, the carry would beat her to the top
- 34:15three. And once I knew that that was a
- 34:18possibility, I knew for sure Mistress would never do anything
- 34:24to jeopardize or increase her risk of not getting to the top
- 34:30three. So I knew for sure she would not
- 34:33give the carry and that she would give it to probably like
- 34:37George's or something. She end up giving it to Lydia.
- 34:40But like same difference at the end.
- 34:42So, but I was like, I was just thinking, OK, like, I know
- 34:46Mistress won't do it and Mistress will be in the top, but
- 34:49how much of like a bombshell would it be if Mistress, like in
- 34:57an alternate universe, Mistress had miscalculated somehow and
- 35:02they gave Kerry the point and somehow didn't know that Nicole
- 35:07and Tina was going to do it. Like production knows
- 35:09everything. Production sets up the order in
- 35:11which they're going to like review everything.
- 35:13But like, how crazy would it be if like if, if, if that was what
- 35:17actually happened, if Carrie got to the top three because
- 35:21mistress like miscalculated it. And like didn't know somehow
- 35:25that Nicole and Tina were going to give both of their points to
- 35:29Carrie to try to like live Carrie up to try to beat
- 35:31mistress, which is what they were trying to do anyways, if
- 35:34shown on camera. But like that would have been
- 35:36like, that would have been like an extra bombshell to be like,
- 35:41Oh my God, this mistress is so calculated.
- 35:45But because she is so calculated, I knew she wouldn't
- 35:47miscalculate. I don't know if she's good at
- 35:50arithmetic or not, but like I knew she was not going to let
- 35:53that happen, but it was going to depend on her actions.
- 35:56So there you go. But the second back was so good
- 35:59to watch because of that. Like I said, it's a competition
- 36:02and it's also TV. It was making good TVI was
- 36:04actually watching on YouTube. Mistress just released a YouTube
- 36:09video where Carrie Colby was on it and they were keeing and
- 36:15obviously, like, this was like, posted just like this week.
- 36:18And this was like way after filming was done and, you know,
- 36:23like, you know, I think it made a lot.
- 36:27It made it was kind of nice to hear what how they both felt at
- 36:30the moment and kind of sort of like they're both of their sides
- 36:35of the story now that filming's all done and over.
- 36:37It's kind of sort of nice. Yeah.
- 36:39But I didn't, I think it was shady, but I thought it was
- 36:41great TV and I thought it was like it was.
- 36:49It was just good TV and I thought I was so entertaining
- 36:52at, and I respect that. It's television, they're making
- 36:55a TV show, and it's also a competition in a way.
- 37:01I was, I was maybe thinking that like, I don't know, like the way
- 37:07Carrie and Nicole looked on the couch when they the moment they
- 37:11were witnessing right in front of the very eyes that they were
- 37:14being double crossed basically was like, it's just good.
- 37:18TVI really like that second bracket, made the first bracket
- 37:21look a little boring in comparison, but the second
- 37:23bracket was like, it was so good.
- 37:27It was so, so good. So I'm looking forward to the
- 37:29third bracket, one more bracket. They go before the semifinals.
- 37:33So those are some of my thoughts on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
- 37:36season 10 so far. Thank you listening for this
- 37:39podcast. My dinner has finished cooking,
- 37:42so I'm going to go with dinner now the next time.
- 37:45Bye y'all.
