- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with iHeartRadio.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Hello, Bob Guinea. I feel like I haven't seen you
- 0:06Speaker 2: in forever.
- 0:07Speaker 1: I know it.
- 0:08Speaker 3: I've been in Dallas, Texas hanging out. So yeah, we
- 0:13Speaker 3: got out of the Michigan cold this week. It's like
- 0:15Speaker 3: negative twenty five at my house. My wife is so
- 0:17Speaker 3: happy that I moved here from California to Michigan.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Oh I bet.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I'm just getting lock messages all over the place.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Uh. Well, thanks for the almost famous OG podcast for
- 0:31Speaker 2: bringing us back together. We're very excited to recap episode
- 0:36Speaker 2: three of Special Forces. I'm excited to hear your thoughts.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I have obviously some thoughts considering I could have been there.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that's part of it, right.
- 0:49Speaker 3: It seems like the intensity just got seriously ratcheted up,
- 0:53Speaker 3: like in a big.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Way, you know.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean like they do this. I think every
- 1:00Speaker 2: season they do the gas when you get gassed. They
- 1:03Speaker 2: don't do getting buried alive as a punishment. I don't
- 1:07Speaker 2: think I've ever seen that, but holy cow, that is.
- 1:13Speaker 2: You know, It's funny because being from reality television, I
- 1:18Speaker 2: know that anything that they ask you there will most
- 1:21Speaker 2: likely be using at some point, you know, during your experience,
- 1:26Speaker 2: and so of course they ask you what your worst
- 1:29Speaker 2: fears are, and open water is definitely the top fear,
- 1:34Speaker 2: but right probably next to it, or maybe underneath, is
- 1:38Speaker 2: being buried alife. So I didn't say anything, like I
- 1:41Speaker 2: literally didn't say to the producers that I was scared
- 1:45Speaker 2: of it because I was like, Oh, they're totally just
- 1:48Speaker 2: going to use that and run with it, you know
- 1:50Speaker 2: what I mean.
- 1:51Speaker 3: So when they ask you these questions, when they when
- 1:53Speaker 3: they would ask you, like, what's your biggest fear? Were
- 1:56Speaker 3: they throwing out any suggestions or was it just like
- 1:59Speaker 3: sitting there silently waiting for you to come up with
- 2:01Speaker 3: what your biggest fear was? Because if if somebody asked
- 2:03Speaker 3: me that, I can honestly say, I don't know what
- 2:05Speaker 3: I would say, Like, I don't know what I was
- 2:08Speaker 3: at there. I'd be like, well, you know, I hate snakes,
- 2:10Speaker 3: I hate Oh, there you go, I hate snakes and
- 2:12Speaker 3: I hate spiders.
- 2:12Speaker 1: There you go. I know what. I know what would
- 2:14Speaker 1: have happened to me? I guess it doesn't us come
- 2:17Speaker 1: off full circle, doesn't it? Well?
- 2:19Speaker 2: I also I think that I said this and this
- 2:23Speaker 2: and I still say it. I don't think you truly know.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Like when it came to Jordan, I got the pleasure
- 2:28Speaker 2: I had the pleasure of talking to her yesterday for
- 2:30Speaker 2: the podcast, and she did not know that she was
- 2:34Speaker 2: afraid of water until she was faced with it. So
- 2:37Speaker 2: I feel like there are a lot of times when
- 2:40Speaker 2: you can guess if you're afraid, but really, until you
- 2:44Speaker 2: do it, you really truly don't know.
- 2:47Speaker 3: I'm sitting here getting like the shivers thinking about snakes
- 2:50Speaker 3: and spiders my fears.
- 2:53Speaker 1: But I mean, let's let's me. You know, you opened in.
- 2:55Speaker 3: My saying this, and I think it's really kind of true.
- 2:58Speaker 3: You know, you said, like I had a lot of
- 2:59Speaker 3: thought on this because I could have still been there.
- 3:02Speaker 3: What if you were still there, like with that gas
- 3:05Speaker 3: attack had just put you over the edge, Because I mean,
- 3:08Speaker 3: you know, I think it would for me. I mean,
- 3:10Speaker 3: I don't think I would have been able to make
- 3:12Speaker 3: it out of there.
- 3:14Speaker 2: So I have asthma. If anyone watched the first season,
- 3:18Speaker 2: Hannah Brown has asthma. She did not have to do
- 3:23Speaker 2: the gas challenge because of her asthma, so she had
- 3:27Speaker 2: a punishment where she had to like essentially do a
- 3:30Speaker 2: really hard workout when they got back to accommodations. I believe, yeah,
- 3:35Speaker 2: And so that is what I was told by the
- 3:40Speaker 2: doctors that did our pre interview before we even started
- 3:43Speaker 2: the show. If there is you know, the gas mask,
- 3:47Speaker 2: the gas room, or whatever they call it, you would
- 3:51Speaker 2: not you would be exempt from that because of your asthma.
- 3:54Speaker 2: So I wouldn't have to make that decision. I think
- 3:57Speaker 2: that I just can't imagine because obviously, as an asthmatic,
- 4:02Speaker 2: you I know how it is to not be able
- 4:07Speaker 2: to breathe. But I don't think i've I mean not
- 4:11Speaker 2: that I don't think I know, I have never experienced
- 4:14Speaker 2: the kind of pain that comes with being gassed.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's next level, stop right.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Next level. I mean freaking Cam Newton literally ran away
- 4:25Speaker 2: the second that he was, you know, put in contact
- 4:29Speaker 2: with it. Yeah, So I think that says something, you know,
- 4:32Speaker 2: like pain. There's there's not being able to breathe, and
- 4:35Speaker 2: then there's pain accompanied with not being able to breathe.
- 4:39Speaker 2: So I would have had a really hard time with
- 4:42Speaker 2: both of those things if I had to have done it.
- 4:44Speaker 2: But I believe that I would have been exempt from
- 4:48Speaker 2: that one.
- 4:48Speaker 3: You know, I can't help but think a que in
- 4:51Speaker 3: this moment like when he was, you know, with his
- 4:53Speaker 3: Navy seal training and.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Everything, and when he was going through it, and you.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Think about, you know, obviously this is probably something he
- 4:59Speaker 3: I know, this is something he experienced. I don't know
- 5:01Speaker 3: for sure, but I'm pretty confident. And it's interesting because
- 5:06Speaker 3: I have to believe. I mean, we are watching some
- 5:08Speaker 3: people who are incredible shape melting down right then you
- 5:12Speaker 3: see a lot of just rips out of the rooms,
- 5:14Speaker 3: like total meltdown.
- 5:16Speaker 1: You know.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I feel like I want to believe again, like when
- 5:20Speaker 3: we first started reviewing these shows. I want to believe
- 5:23Speaker 3: that I'd be able to get through something like this
- 5:24Speaker 3: and be able to complete the task.
- 5:26Speaker 1: But I just don't know.
- 5:28Speaker 3: I mean, I feel like your body starts feeling like
- 5:30Speaker 3: it's shutting down. I think people start going through some
- 5:32Speaker 3: weird right, and it just kind of probably makes you
- 5:35Speaker 3: just total just a total otherworldly or out of body experience.
- 5:39Speaker 2: I I guess, you know, yeah, completely. I feel like
- 5:44Speaker 2: we can give kudos to the people. The two people
- 5:47Speaker 2: two we did it, Carrie and Kyla. We were we
- 5:51Speaker 2: were texting, the group was texting last night and I
- 5:55Speaker 2: wrote and said, Kyla and Carrie, that was amazing. And
- 5:58Speaker 2: you know, other people said so too. They just it
- 6:02Speaker 2: looked like it kind of got easier as it went,
- 6:05Speaker 2: like maybe it wasn't as painful as they were standing
- 6:08Speaker 2: there for a few seconds, but who knows. I mean,
- 6:11Speaker 2: they just powered through, and so give kudos to them.
- 6:15Speaker 2: But I don't like take away from any of the
- 6:18Speaker 2: people who couldn't complete it, because that has got to
- 6:23Speaker 2: be that is, like you said, it's next level, Like
- 6:27Speaker 2: I don't. I don't take away from anybody who actually
- 6:31Speaker 2: tried it. So funny story like linking into anybody who
- 6:35Speaker 2: actually tried it. I've mentioned the Navy seals that I'm
- 6:39Speaker 2: friends with, and finally one of them watched the show
- 6:44Speaker 2: and he was like, you know, texting me as he's
- 6:47Speaker 2: watching it.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You're you're doing so good. You're sticking in.
- 6:50Speaker 2: There, you know, And I was. And finally when I
- 6:54Speaker 2: left the show, I was like, yeah, you know, I
- 6:57Speaker 2: didn't do as well as everybody else, but or most
- 7:01Speaker 2: of the other people, but I'm just grateful for the experience.
- 7:04Speaker 2: And he was like, hey, listen, you know ninety nine
- 7:07Speaker 2: percent of people don't even sign up, so be proud
- 7:10Speaker 2: of yourself for actually signing up. So I give credit
- 7:13Speaker 2: to the people who are still there and and tried
- 7:16Speaker 2: it without like they didn't they didn't say, Okay, I'm
- 7:20Speaker 2: not going to do this, you know, I'm going to
- 7:22Speaker 2: hand you my number. They actually did it, so I
- 7:25Speaker 2: give them all big credit.
- 7:37Speaker 1: You mentioned Cam.
- 7:39Speaker 3: I thought, uh, I thought Cam's his uh mirror mirrored
- 7:44Speaker 3: room interview was really interesting, you know, after the you know,
- 7:48Speaker 3: because you got to think about someone like him, who's
- 7:51Speaker 3: you know, had so much success as a professional athlete,
- 7:55Speaker 3: and you know, and and to feel like he's completely
- 7:58Speaker 3: out of control. And I thought it was really interesting
- 8:00Speaker 3: that DSA's were like controls an illusion, you know. And
- 8:03Speaker 3: I'm like, I gotta be honest, I don't think of
- 8:07Speaker 3: myself as a control freak. But when I was thinking
- 8:10Speaker 3: about this particular question, I read through it the other
- 8:13Speaker 3: day and I was like, maybe I am a control
- 8:16Speaker 3: freak and I just don't know it because I'm I,
- 8:18Speaker 3: you know what I mean, Like, because I think Kenya
- 8:20Speaker 3: and I, like, we're both used to doing things our
- 8:23Speaker 3: own way, and we've been together for twelve years, right,
- 8:26Speaker 3: so we're both used to doing things our own way,
- 8:28Speaker 3: and that's that's the only time we ever really butt heads.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Is when I've got to design on how to do
- 8:32Speaker 3: something and she's got to design.
- 8:34Speaker 1: On how to do something. It's different.
- 8:35Speaker 3: And usually I'll give in for the sake of argument.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I'll go, oh, you know, we can do it your way.
- 8:40Speaker 1: That's fine.
- 8:41Speaker 3: You know, like a lot of times I dig I
- 8:44Speaker 3: dig in in a different way and I'm like, absolutely not,
- 8:46Speaker 3: this is how we're gonna do it, because it's going
- 8:47Speaker 3: to be, i know, to be successful doing it my way.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Are you someone who feels like like do you And
- 8:52Speaker 3: I know it's different in relationships and it would be
- 8:54Speaker 3: in situational circumstances, but do you feel like you are
- 8:58Speaker 3: I wouldn't say control freak, but are you kind of
- 9:00Speaker 3: the one who makes a lot of the decisions because
- 9:02Speaker 3: you just know how you want things done?
- 9:04Speaker 2: Well? Yeah, I mean I like to be in control.
- 9:07Speaker 2: I'm type A for sure. I like to plan. And
- 9:11Speaker 2: I mean Ryan and I were just driving somewhere to
- 9:14Speaker 2: an appointment and you know, I was like, I'll pull
- 9:18Speaker 2: it up on ways and He's like, well, can you
- 9:20Speaker 2: put it on my on my truck And I was like,
- 9:22Speaker 2: I'll just I'll just tell you where to go, and
- 9:24Speaker 2: it just it wasn't like I was being bossy. I
- 9:27Speaker 2: was like, you know, it just feels good to be like, okay,
- 9:32Speaker 2: turn you know you're going to twenty five you whatever.
- 9:36Speaker 2: So yeah, I do like being controlled. I in control.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I do not like feeling out of control. Yeah, I
- 9:43Speaker 2: will say that on this show, you have to give
- 9:49Speaker 2: up control to the DS and in doing that, some people,
- 9:56Speaker 2: I feel like, maybe don't feel safe. But I always
- 9:58Speaker 2: felt safe with them. I always felt like, even though
- 10:03Speaker 2: I'm giving up control, I feel safe. And actually that
- 10:08Speaker 2: brings me to a point that I wanted to bring up.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I just did. I was a guest on the I
- 10:15Speaker 2: Choose Me podcast for Jenny Garth, and I'm so excited
- 10:18Speaker 2: to be on it. I love her. I mean it's
- 10:22Speaker 2: the first time I've met her, and I was just oh,
- 10:24Speaker 2: I was such a huge fan for anyway. I mean,
- 10:28Speaker 2: who wasn't growing up, you know, in our generation. So
- 10:33Speaker 2: so there have been all these news article or people
- 10:37Speaker 2: are pulling from what I said on her podcast and
- 10:43Speaker 2: kind of taking it out of context, and it's kind
- 10:46Speaker 2: of driving me crazy. But it's related to control, like
- 10:49Speaker 2: for reality shows. Anyone who's listening to this podcast, if
- 10:53Speaker 2: you listen to it frequently regularly. You know that when
- 10:57Speaker 2: it comes to reality shows, we all have a contract, right,
- 11:00Speaker 2: we all signed contracts. You basically have to sign your
- 11:05Speaker 2: life away. That's that's like the phrase that's used, right, Yeah,
- 11:09Speaker 2: sign your life away and give up control. And these
- 11:14Speaker 2: news outlets are pulling from it and saying that I
- 11:17Speaker 2: was threatened into They said that I said that I
- 11:22Speaker 2: was threatened that I would be sued by the producers,
- 11:25Speaker 2: and I'm like, I'm sorry, but that's totally taken out
- 11:27Speaker 2: of context from.
- 11:29Speaker 1: The Bachelorette days or from now or.
- 11:30Speaker 2: From the Bachelerette days. Yeah, and then and then also
- 11:34Speaker 2: that I had to I was forced was the word
- 11:37Speaker 2: forced to zip my lip? And you know this is
- 11:40Speaker 2: all taken out of like written on a page when
- 11:43Speaker 2: when we're talking conversationally, I'm like, I was forced to
- 11:47Speaker 2: zip my lips because I couldn't say anything about what
- 11:52Speaker 2: was going on when all the cryptic stuff was going
- 11:54Speaker 2: on about Ryan. And I don't want that to look
- 11:58Speaker 2: like the producers were being me. They weren't forcing me,
- 12:01Speaker 2: like they weren't holding me down, forcing me to like
- 12:04Speaker 2: zip my lips. And the Bachelorette producers were not threatening me.
- 12:09Speaker 2: They give you a contract and they say you can
- 12:12Speaker 2: sign this contract and then you can be on the show.
- 12:15Speaker 2: If you don't sign the contract, you cannot be on
- 12:17Speaker 2: the show. Show No, So it's just part of reality shows,
- 12:23Speaker 2: you know, and it always has been it always will be.
- 12:27Speaker 2: So anyway, I just wanted to comment on that because
- 12:30Speaker 2: I'm like, please, don't take words out of my mouth
- 12:33Speaker 2: and take it out of context like these you know,
- 12:36Speaker 2: different outlets and say these things that I it's not
- 12:41Speaker 2: what I meant. I meant that we are all under contract,
- 12:44Speaker 2: and you basically say, of course, I'm not going to
- 12:48Speaker 2: say anything. It's a television show. You want to like
- 12:50Speaker 2: have some secrecy. So in terms of control, you do
- 12:54Speaker 2: give away a bit of your control because you know
- 12:58Speaker 2: that they're filming a show. You know that you are
- 13:03Speaker 2: you have to do what they are asking you to do,
- 13:06Speaker 2: and if you don't, you leave the show. When it
- 13:09Speaker 2: comes to special forces, you know what I mean, right,
- 13:11Speaker 2: So you do give up a little bit of control,
- 13:14Speaker 2: and I'm I was okay with that. So if that
- 13:17Speaker 2: makes me not a control freak, then then I guess
- 13:20Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Maybe maybe either one of us are, because I mean,
- 13:23Speaker 1: you know I did. You did the Bachelor, then the Bachelotte.
- 13:26Speaker 3: I did the Bacherette, then the Bachelor, so we both
- 13:29Speaker 3: did you know, our our start in this industry came
- 13:31Speaker 3: from two times of giving up complete and total control.
- 13:34Speaker 1: So maybe we're not control freaks after all. So that's right.
- 13:38Speaker 3: I was going to say, you know, like the only
- 13:39Speaker 3: time Canyon and I really butt heads with when I
- 13:41Speaker 3: realized we're both control freaks, is that is when we're parking,
- 13:45Speaker 3: because I and I love making the jokes, like I go,
- 13:47Speaker 3: you know, it's so great is we were forty I
- 13:50Speaker 3: was forty when I when I met Canyon, I was
- 13:52Speaker 3: forty one. I'm like, man, I was somehow able to
- 13:54Speaker 3: park my car from the time I was eighteen until
- 13:56Speaker 3: I was forty one without you telling me how to park.
- 13:58Speaker 1: But ever since we've been married, clearly you are the
- 14:03Speaker 1: king the queen because I simply.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Cande, Nope, you can't. I think that's every relationship, by
- 14:11Speaker 2: the way, Yeah, I really think so. The helicopter that
- 14:18Speaker 2: was crazy, and actually I felt really bad for it.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Seemed like the wind was the wind was either crazy
- 14:27Speaker 2: on its own or just from the helicopter. You're like
- 14:29Speaker 2: standing on the side, but we were like, what is
- 14:32Speaker 2: happening When Kyla tried to jump off or get off,
- 14:36Speaker 2: and then Alana tried to get off and she couldn't,
- 14:39Speaker 2: And I think it was because the wind was pushing
- 14:42Speaker 2: them like against you, and you had your arms like
- 14:45Speaker 2: you had to have your arms like crossed, so they
- 14:48Speaker 2: couldn't like push off, you know, like and and detach
- 14:52Speaker 2: themselves from the helicopter. And so I felt bad for
- 14:56Speaker 2: them because gosh, that was like a whole other element
- 14:59Speaker 2: that was part of it. You're not just jumping off
- 15:02Speaker 2: or getting off of the helicopter and jumping into water.
- 15:04Speaker 2: You're dealing with like high intensity winds that like are
- 15:08Speaker 2: preventing you. And then a lot of freaking jumps and
- 15:11Speaker 2: comes like and who knows if they were being dramatic
- 15:14Speaker 2: and saying that she was really close to the helicopter blades. Yeah,
- 15:18Speaker 2: but that's that's so scary. I'm so glad that she
- 15:22Speaker 2: didn't jump any higher.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Well, you know, that's.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Got to be why they I mean, like we said before,
- 15:26Speaker 3: to ensure a show like this has got to be
- 15:28Speaker 3: a disaster, because I mean, everything you're doing, something really
- 15:32Speaker 3: bad can happen. I mean there's just no question, right.
- 15:34Speaker 3: The fact that it doesn't nine times out of ten
- 15:36Speaker 3: is bananas. But yeah, I mean I wonder if there's
- 15:39Speaker 3: any like, uh like centrifugal force or whatever. That's also
- 15:43Speaker 3: kind of like, you know what I mean, because the
- 15:45Speaker 3: way the chopper's doing and stuff, and like, it's just
- 15:47Speaker 3: sort of like almost pressing you against it, and so
- 15:49Speaker 3: you have to like really use all your strength to
- 15:52Speaker 3: get off of there, but then your hands are like this,
- 15:54Speaker 3: so you can't. I don't know, you know, I mean,
- 15:56Speaker 3: I'm sure there's a lot to it that from a
- 15:59Speaker 3: body perspective, we don't even know that they're going through totally.
- 16:03Speaker 2: But anyway, I feel like I would have had the
- 16:04Speaker 2: hardest time getting off of that helicopter, just comparing myself
- 16:09Speaker 2: to what happened with Kyla and Alana. Yeah, the swim
- 16:12Speaker 2: would have been hard. And when they put on the
- 16:14Speaker 2: life preserver, Ryan was like, it's really hard to swim,
- 16:18Speaker 2: which is so true with a life jacket on, it's
- 16:21Speaker 2: just awkward, do you know what I mean?
- 16:23Speaker 1: Well, and especially you also have on multiple layers, right.
- 16:27Speaker 2: You still have on boots and yeah.
- 16:30Speaker 1: So yeah, that might keep you a little more buoyant.
- 16:33Speaker 3: I suppose, so you don't die, but you are definitely
- 16:36Speaker 3: struggling to move and keep yourself. I mean, yeah, the
- 16:41Speaker 3: whole thing to me is just a disaster. I mean,
- 16:43Speaker 3: I don't even know what I would do in that circumstance.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I mean, well, yeah, I mean I kinda that's that's
- 16:50Speaker 2: the kind of task that I would have liked to
- 16:53Speaker 2: be able to do, because even though it seems like
- 16:58Speaker 2: scary watching it from home, being kind of in the
- 17:03Speaker 2: task that I was a part of, I actually wasn't
- 17:06Speaker 2: as scared in the moment as I feel like I
- 17:10Speaker 2: would have been scared kind of watching it from my house, if.
- 17:13Speaker 1: That makes any sense, Like I get it.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, so I feel like I would have.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I feel like I would have really liked that challenge.
- 17:21Speaker 2: And who knows if I would have succeeded and gotten
- 17:23Speaker 2: to the buoy in time or not, right, But I
- 17:27Speaker 2: feel like I'm an okay swimmer, and as long as
- 17:29Speaker 2: I could actually you know, get off of the helicopter
- 17:34Speaker 2: because of the winds, I think I have been okay.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Well that's I mean, that's cool, Like the part of
- 17:40Speaker 3: me is because I think that's kind of the interesting
- 17:42Speaker 3: thing about this show. Because you were there, you do
- 17:44Speaker 3: understand the conditions and and everything else, but you also
- 17:48Speaker 3: push your body to the limit, and so you can
- 17:51Speaker 3: actually look at this from a different standpoint, Like I'm
- 17:53Speaker 3: looking at it when you know, I see I see
- 17:55Speaker 3: Cam Newton do something, and I'm like, oh, okay, so
- 17:58Speaker 3: Cam was able to do that. I guess maybe I
- 18:00Speaker 3: could do that in my mind, but I've never done
- 18:03Speaker 3: any of these things that y'all had to do, and
- 18:06Speaker 3: so you know, I'm really going out there on a
- 18:08Speaker 3: limb thinking that I could just you know, match up
- 18:10Speaker 3: with Cam Newton.
- 18:11Speaker 1: But yeah, I do think it's pretty crazy. You know, it's.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Crazy Cam Newton. I did. I will say I texted
- 18:24Speaker 2: the group last night and said that I really thought
- 18:28Speaker 2: it was beautiful how Cam was being vulnerable and his
- 18:32Speaker 2: mirror room interview, like he was like, huh, yeah, that's true.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I don't like control, and I feel like he he
- 18:39Speaker 2: gave it up to them, even though you know, he was,
- 18:42Speaker 2: you know, kind of complaining about being played or whatever.
- 18:45Speaker 2: At first, I thought it was good of him to
- 18:48Speaker 2: you know, recognize that he wasn't getting played. This is
- 18:52Speaker 2: the show that he signed up for and you know,
- 18:55Speaker 2: admitting to that, and then we have to talk about
- 18:57Speaker 2: the the a burpie situation. Oh my goodness. I Ryan
- 19:08Speaker 2: and I were talking about it, and I feel like
- 19:11Speaker 2: we both agree that when you're doing a certain number
- 19:16Speaker 2: of burpies or push ups or setups or whatever, I
- 19:19Speaker 2: always lose track. Always, yep, right, And so I wonder
- 19:25Speaker 2: how much of it because I can't imagine that any
- 19:30Speaker 2: of them actually did it on purpose, and they didn't
- 19:33Speaker 2: seem to, like when they got caught be like oh whoops,
- 19:38Speaker 2: like you know what I mean. They didn't act like
- 19:40Speaker 2: they were being caught. They were like, wait, what I
- 19:44Speaker 2: only did that?
- 19:45Speaker 3: Many imagine how tired you are? Like for me, like,
- 19:48Speaker 3: when I'm doing and stuff like that, it's a timed thing.
- 19:52Speaker 3: It's not me counting to twenty right, right. First of all,
- 19:56Speaker 3: I do twenty burpies. I'm throwing up any of mine.
- 19:58Speaker 3: But if it's a timed situation and someone's like time,
- 20:01Speaker 3: I'm like.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Okay, great, whatever I just did is enough?
- 20:03Speaker 2: Right?
- 20:04Speaker 1: So I feel like that.
- 20:05Speaker 3: I feel like you're right, because I do feel like
- 20:07Speaker 3: you're so mentally and physically beaten down from everything you've
- 20:11Speaker 3: been doing that yeah, you know, maybe you do lose
- 20:14Speaker 3: count of you know, twenty burpies because you're still not
- 20:17Speaker 3: able to breathe, You're exhausted, you're hardly pushing your arms up.
- 20:20Speaker 1: It's like, you know, I do.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Burfies at the gym, and Kenyon makes fun of me
- 20:25Speaker 3: because I literally by the fourth one, I don't even
- 20:27Speaker 3: really jump.
- 20:28Speaker 1: I'm just like just like my body just kind of
- 20:31Speaker 1: goes up. I mean, because I'm just so tired. I'm like, Oh,
- 20:37Speaker 1: that's the least important part. Y. Yeah, Yeah, I think
- 20:40Speaker 1: you're right.
- 20:40Speaker 3: I mean I think I think these guys are just
- 20:41Speaker 3: so beaten, so tired, so so you know, fatigued from
- 20:46Speaker 3: lack of sleep, you know. I mean we keep hearing
- 20:49Speaker 3: that as a as a constant too, right, Like, oh,
- 20:50Speaker 3: make maybe two hours a night or three hours a night,
- 20:53Speaker 3: and it's a miserable sleep, right, It's like you're scared
- 20:56Speaker 3: of how are we waking up tomorrow morning?
- 20:58Speaker 1: Who knows?
- 20:59Speaker 3: You know, when they come and pulling us out to parade,
- 21:01Speaker 3: who knows. So I feel like there's a lot of
- 21:03Speaker 3: that that would just really start to factor in after several.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Days completely, oh completely and not having like great sleep
- 21:12Speaker 2: or food or anything like they are all they're getting
- 21:16Speaker 2: to the point where they're depleted.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Yeah, and this is where accidents happen, right, Yeah, yeah,
- 21:21Speaker 3: I mean that's like terli Q said when we interviewed
- 21:23Speaker 3: Q too, He's like, this is when you know, towards
- 21:26Speaker 3: the end, is when you start mistakes start happening, people
- 21:29Speaker 3: start falling out because they're just they can't keep it together.
- 21:32Speaker 3: And that's when you need to be at your best,
- 21:34Speaker 3: when you're at av cl or when you're a recon
- 21:36Speaker 3: marine or whatever.
- 21:37Speaker 1: You know. So yeah, yeah, pretty interesting.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Stuff, Okay, And then Alana was featured a lot in this,
- 21:54Speaker 2: which I loved seeing. I like, I'd love hearing her
- 21:57Speaker 2: backstory or a little bit of it. And she definitely
- 22:01Speaker 2: was talking about how she has a hard time, how
- 22:04Speaker 2: she's sensitive and has a hard time with confrontation. I
- 22:07Speaker 2: am so sensitive, and I obviously that's why I was
- 22:13Speaker 2: crying when Q was like, you don't belong here, you
- 22:15Speaker 2: need to go home. You know, I'm just crying. At
- 22:20Speaker 2: least I wasn't fighting back, not that I would have
- 22:25Speaker 2: had a prayer, but anyway, I totally relate to her
- 22:31Speaker 2: and and the fact that it's it is really really
- 22:36Speaker 2: hard getting yelled at even if and I did understand
- 22:41Speaker 2: why they were doing it, you know, like it's still
- 22:44Speaker 2: really hard to take. So and she's, you know, this
- 22:49Speaker 2: is I think day the end of day six, right,
- 22:54Speaker 2: I think it was the end of day six, So
- 22:56Speaker 2: they've been there for six days, and like what I did,
- 23:00Speaker 2: I felt like it was so much, but add in
- 23:03Speaker 2: a fight and the jump from the helicopter and the
- 23:05Speaker 2: guessing and the being buried alive, and like, oh my gosh,
- 23:09Speaker 2: so much more has gone on after I left, So
- 23:14Speaker 2: I totally get it.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Such a mental and physical toll.
- 23:17Speaker 3: I think, you know, yeah, there at this point where
- 23:20Speaker 3: it's like, you know, and and I forget who said
- 23:22Speaker 3: this to us. I think it was Christy Carlson actually
- 23:24Speaker 3: who said this, but uh, who's Carlson Romano? Sorry? I
- 23:28Speaker 3: remember her saying that her husband had told her that
- 23:32Speaker 3: it's the mental is more important than the physical. Or
- 23:36Speaker 3: maybe he didn't say more important. I don't exactly remember
- 23:39Speaker 3: what he said exactly Harder, Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's keep
- 23:42Speaker 3: it together mentally and you will make it through better
- 23:44Speaker 3: than if all you can do is keep it together physically. Right,
- 23:46Speaker 3: So I feel like, you know, that's got to be
- 23:49Speaker 3: such a big part of it because I'm you know,
- 23:50Speaker 3: I like to think that I'm not and I am sensitive,
- 23:54Speaker 3: don't get me wrong, but I like to think that
- 23:56Speaker 3: I can. I can block some stuff out, but I'm
- 23:58Speaker 3: still a pretty sense in person. But I would think
- 24:02Speaker 3: after a while of someone just barking up my tree,
- 24:05Speaker 3: I would get to the point where I'd be like, okay, enough,
- 24:07Speaker 3: Like I think I just lose my I would lose it,
- 24:09Speaker 3: totally lose my call. And you know, I think that's
- 24:12Speaker 3: where Cam was at. I think that, you know, because
- 24:13Speaker 3: it was like he's in survival mode. He's like, you know,
- 24:16Speaker 3: I feel like you're everyone's kind of at that breaking
- 24:18Speaker 3: point right now, and this is really when people start
- 24:21Speaker 3: falling off.
- 24:21Speaker 1: You know. It's like, really when people start even.
- 24:23Speaker 3: The most incredibly conditioned athlete you know, is losing his.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Mind right now.
- 24:29Speaker 3: So, you know, I think that that says something, you know,
- 24:32Speaker 3: it really does about how intense this training is for
- 24:36Speaker 3: those Marines and those Navy guys and everybody else.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I don't know, oh for sure.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Again, I like to think I could do it.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:44Speaker 2: I also loved seeing I just I love the mirror
- 24:48Speaker 2: Room interviews because it really shows us a side of
- 24:51Speaker 2: these people that we've never known before, probably not like
- 24:56Speaker 2: Carrie Hart talking about his brother and his dad, and
- 25:01Speaker 2: I just I love being able to really hear their stories.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Kylo's too, So I look forward to more of that.
- 25:12Speaker 2: What I want to know is, now that we've seen
- 25:15Speaker 2: episode three, who are your Are your predictions for who
- 25:19Speaker 2: will make it until the end still the same? Who
- 25:23Speaker 2: are you thinking?
- 25:24Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 25:24Speaker 3: I think I think relatively the same. I mean I think, uh,
- 25:29Speaker 3: Carrie has proven himself to be, you know, like a beast,
- 25:35Speaker 3: you know, just that it really is, I mean, and
- 25:38Speaker 3: it's like watching him is kind of like, Okay, maybe
- 25:42Speaker 3: this is my horse, you know, But I still I
- 25:45Speaker 3: still think, you know, I mean, I still think they're
- 25:48Speaker 3: all you know, everyone that I mentioned before is still
- 25:50Speaker 3: up there.
- 25:51Speaker 1: But I'm starting to lean.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Who did you mention before? Remind me I.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Had Cam, Carrie Brody and then Kayla. Yeah, it's really
- 26:01Speaker 3: interesting to me because now I feel like, you know,
- 26:04Speaker 3: and I also don't want to come off like I'm
- 26:06Speaker 3: not giving the women enough respect on this by the way,
- 26:09Speaker 3: So it's like that's that part is important to me too,
- 26:11Speaker 3: because I feel, you know, in the history of my
- 26:14Speaker 3: life anyway. All the women in my life are way
- 26:17Speaker 3: mentally and physically more capable than me.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Right, So I mean I'm not delivering a child, you know,
- 26:22Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Going through, you know, all the trials and tribulations of
- 26:26Speaker 3: childbirth and everything else. And so I've always grown up
- 26:28Speaker 3: around strong women. I've always surrounded myself with strong women.
- 26:30Speaker 3: So you know, I don't want it to sound like
- 26:32Speaker 3: I'm not, but I just feel like Carrie is so.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Formidable and he's a great leader.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, he really is.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Like he encourages, like when he was encouraging Kyla, and
- 26:44Speaker 2: like when Cam was like back in it, He's like,
- 26:47Speaker 2: I'm glad you're back in it. Actually he said. I
- 26:52Speaker 2: Actually I texted the group too and said that was
- 26:56Speaker 2: great advice, Carrie, but I can't remember what he said.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Let's see, I have your moment. And then we got
- 27:03Speaker 2: a reset when Kayla was having a hard time, and
- 27:08Speaker 2: I said life advice for everyone, Carrie, like that, really
- 27:11Speaker 2: truly have your moment and reset. You know that is
- 27:16Speaker 2: great advice for anything in life. You know, you just
- 27:20Speaker 2: feel it. I've always felt like, don't push it down. Yeah,
- 27:24Speaker 2: feel the feels, feel it, get through it and then reset.
- 27:28Speaker 2: I thought that was really really great advice. So, yes,
- 27:31Speaker 2: he is, he's a beast.
- 27:33Speaker 3: You can tell he's someone who is who's probably practiced
- 27:35Speaker 3: what he preaches too, because all of his life experiences,
- 27:38Speaker 3: like you said, all the broken bones and everything else,
- 27:41Speaker 3: it's like he's had to go through it. And also,
- 27:45Speaker 3: I mean, you know, let's be honest, I mean, his
- 27:47Speaker 3: life now is like I mean, like he said, he's like, well,
- 27:50Speaker 3: you know, a couple times a year, I'm I'm tour dad.
- 27:53Speaker 1: You know, I'm Pink.
- 27:54Speaker 3: And he's like, I'm used to being Pink's husband, you know,
- 27:56Speaker 3: and it's like she's she's known for being a strong
- 27:58Speaker 3: personality too, So he's I think, you know, he's in
- 28:01Speaker 3: that sick circumstance where he's probably got to go somewhere,
- 28:05Speaker 3: get himself composed, get back in it. He's probably had
- 28:07Speaker 3: to do that a bunch, you know, in his life,
- 28:09Speaker 3: especially from injuries and everything else. So yeah, I think
- 28:13Speaker 3: it's pretty remarkable.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I don't know, I'm.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Interested to see, you know, I'm interested to see what
- 28:19Speaker 3: happens in the next episode.
- 28:20Speaker 1: I mean, each one of these episodes is like a
- 28:22Speaker 1: quest for me.
- 28:23Speaker 3: It's like it's two hours of me just like going
- 28:27Speaker 3: through a battery of emotions. I don't know why I
- 28:31Speaker 3: get so emotional watching this show, Like I I just
- 28:34Speaker 3: feel like I'm like, especially in the mirrored rooms parts,
- 28:36Speaker 3: I like they come out of the mirro room.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I feel like these guys are my friends. I want
- 28:39Speaker 1: to be there for them.
- 28:40Speaker 3: And you know, I'm just I'm buying the whole show
- 28:42Speaker 3: hook Line and Synker, I mean, I'm in it, you know,
- 28:45Speaker 3: And I'm.
- 28:45Speaker 1: I'm glad that I am because i haven't had a show.
- 28:48Speaker 3: I haven't had a show that I've been this compelled
- 28:51Speaker 3: to watch in a long time.
- 28:53Speaker 1: So it's been Yeah, it's been really great, you know.
- 28:56Speaker 3: And and I mean obviously because of you being on there,
- 28:58Speaker 3: but I think also just I really think this cast
- 29:01Speaker 3: is pretty spectacular and the different personalities and the different
- 29:05Speaker 3: levels of respect that I have for so many of them,
- 29:07Speaker 3: and you know, and so to see them come through
- 29:10Speaker 3: this whole thing is it's been pretty I'm gonna have
- 29:12Speaker 3: mad respect for whoever's left stand at the end, because
- 29:15Speaker 3: I got tons of respect for everybody else who hasn't
- 29:18Speaker 3: made it that far yet. So I just feel like
- 29:20Speaker 3: it's It's really going to be interesting to me to
- 29:22Speaker 3: see who does that.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Yeah, same, I mean, I know, but I still want
- 29:27Speaker 2: to see their journeys, you know. I want to see
- 29:30Speaker 2: how it all, how it all plays out for everybody.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Well, I'm excited. I'm excited to be.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Watching I know, that's for sure. It is exciting. So
- 29:40Speaker 2: everybody can tune into Special Forces every night, every Wednesday
- 29:44Speaker 2: night on Fox and then starting the day after they
- 29:49Speaker 2: will be streaming the episode on Hulu. So you can
- 29:53Speaker 2: tune into all the episodes on Hulu right now. Thanks
- 29:57Speaker 2: for recapping. I know you have to go, but thanks
- 30:00Speaker 2: for listening to the almost famous OG podcast. Everybody. We
- 30:03Speaker 2: have some really great interviews coming up with Marion Jones.
- 30:07Speaker 2: I interviewed Rudy and Billy and that was you guys.
- 30:15Speaker 2: I literally told all of the recruits from the show
- 30:19Speaker 2: that they should have the DS do like their psychological
- 30:25Speaker 2: like you know, full circle interview at the end, because
- 30:29Speaker 2: I'm like, it kind of gave me closure, Not that
- 30:32Speaker 2: I felt like I really needed it, but it kind
- 30:34Speaker 2: of gave me a little closier to like see them
- 30:36Speaker 2: smiling and happy and like laughing with me. I'm like, oh, okay, yeah,
- 30:45Speaker 2: I know. It was amazing. So I hope everyone listens
- 30:50Speaker 2: to those amazing interviews coming up, and hopefully we'll have
- 30:55Speaker 2: the rest of the cast on too.
- 30:56Speaker 3: So yeah, absolutely, well, thank you for making time for
- 30:59Speaker 3: me to be honest with you today. I was excited
- 31:01Speaker 3: to talk to you, and thanks everyone for listening. We

- 31:07Speaker 3: thank you so much.

- 31:11Speaker 1: Bob, Thank you, I appreciate it.
- 31:13Speaker 2: You welcome
