- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to get right
- 0:06back to the Pam Bondi interview with Congress. Question with
- 0:11respect to that memos assertion that no further disclosure of
- 0:15files would be appropriate or warranted, do you recall who
- 0:17made that decision at the time that no further Epstein
- 0:20file should be released? Answer? Can you point out where
- 0:23you're reading that? Question? Sure, Down at the bottom of
- 0:26the first page, there's just one sentence, and it says
- 0:29the determination of the DOJ and the FBI that no
- 0:32further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted. Answer. I can't
- 0:36answer that other than that was in July, and we
- 0:39had sought, meaning the Department of Justice to unseal in
- 0:43July documents from courts in the Southern District of Florida
- 0:46and Southern District of New York, and that was denied,
- 0:49I believe by both judges the release of those documents.
- 0:53Question if you know, would the Department have been aware
- 0:56of the content of the three million or so pages
- 0:59that we now have seen at the time that the
- 1:01memo was written in July. Answer? I don't believe so.
- 1:04Question okay, So that judgment about no further disclosure of
- 1:08files would be warranted was made on a lesser understanding
- 1:12of what the files were then as we sit here today. Answer, well,
- 1:17clearly they did not know that there were three million
- 1:19plus approximately three million pages of documents at the time. Question,
- 1:24as far as you know, was that July memo written
- 1:26informed exclusively within dj and the FBI or did the
- 1:30White House have any role in crafting that memo? Answer?
- 1:34I don't recall. Question. The month prior, in June, Elon
- 1:38Musk had tweeted that time to drop the really big
- 1:40bomb at real Donald Trump is in the Epstein files
- 1:44and that's the real reason they have not been made public.
- 1:47Did you have any conversation with any agency or administration
- 1:50staff about the tweet? Answer? I'm not going to discuss
- 1:53any conversations that I did or didn't have with the
- 1:56department or administration. Question I think or conversations inside the
- 2:02department I think have been discussed to a pretty good
- 2:04extent here today. So is there some more nuanced to
- 2:07that idea? Answer? No, question, okay? Is it that you
- 2:11will not answer that particular question for the record? Answer?
- 2:15Will you repeat the question? Answer, Yeah, that Elon Musk tweet,
- 2:19which was last June. Mister Musk said, quote, it's time
- 2:22to drop the really big bomb at real Donald Trump
- 2:26is in the Epstein files. The question was just whether
- 2:29you had any conversation with subordinates colleagues about that tweet? Dylan,
- 2:34That question calls for communication that she already said she's
- 2:37not going to testify about, and she already answered that,
- 2:40So question, I definitely don't think it does. But can
- 2:44you help me understand in what sense? In other words,
- 2:47it's not a conversation with the president, it's during her
- 2:50time as Attorney General Dylan, She stated that she is
- 2:54not going to testify about executive branch communication, and your
- 2:57question elicited that it was broader than the president question. Definitely,
- 3:02I'm not asking about presidential communication. So is the category
- 3:07not just president or close aids to president, but inside
- 3:10of DOJ conversation Dylan, that question redacted. You're kind of
- 3:15changing the scope of your question. Actually, question, I don't
- 3:19think I am, Dylan, I think you are. Question I'm
- 3:23definitely not. The question is just whether miss Bondi, and
- 3:26I'll direct it to Miss BONDI had any discussions that
- 3:29you can recall with colleagues at DOJ about the tweet
- 3:33that I just described, Dylan, So that's a different question
- 3:37than the one you had originally asked. You can answer
- 3:40the question if you can without revealing privileged communication. BONDI sure.
- 3:45I'm sure we did, because that was quite a post. Yes,
- 3:48but I can't recall the extent of the conversation other
- 3:51than did you see this question? To your knowledge, did
- 3:55that tweet have any impact on the department's decision to
- 3:57release the July memo we previously did discussed answer? To
- 4:01my knowledge, no question, all right. I would like to
- 4:04ask a few questions about Glayne Maxwell and the conditions
- 4:07of her incarceration. This topic was discussed to some extent.
- 4:13Bondy jumps in. Can I have a minute to confer question? Sure,
- 4:16of course, answer there's something I might want. We can
- 4:20go off the record for a moment. Do you have
- 4:23a clarification, Bondy, no question. Okay, We're actually going to
- 4:27do a few questions from members that are here, so
- 4:30I'll turn that over in that direction. Now we have
- 4:34mister Garcia asking the questions. Mister Garcia, Miss BONDI, thank
- 4:40you again for being here. And again just want to
- 4:42reiterate we wish you a full and speedy recovery. So
- 4:45thanks for being here, Miss BONDI a couple questions I
- 4:48want to start. First. There's been a reporting that indicates
- 4:51that you had informed President Trump on May twenty fifth
- 4:54that his name appeared multiple times in the Epstein files
- 4:57that were reviewed by the DOJ. A couple of months later,
- 5:01on July seventh of twenty twenty five, which was discussed earlier,
- 5:05the DOJ and the FBI released a memo saying that
- 5:08no further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted. We just
- 5:12discussed that now. Looking at the conversation that was reported
- 5:15back in May, why did you tell President Trump he
- 5:18was in the files, Bondie. I'm not going to discuss
- 5:22the conversations I did or did not have with the
- 5:24President of the United States, and I've said that multiple
- 5:27times on multiple topics throughout my tenure. Garcia, what was
- 5:32President Trump's reaction when you had that conversation with him?
- 5:35No response, Dylan asked and answered, Garcia. Did President Trump
- 5:40at any time tell you not to disclose what was
- 5:43in the files? Dylan asked and answered, Garcia, Let me
- 5:47get to Glenn Maxwell. It's clear not answering my questions
- 5:50about President Trump about any conversation with President Trump, what
- 5:55he may have directed you to do. Is that correct, Bondi,
- 5:58I'm not going to answer any question any conversations that
- 6:01I've had with the President of the United States, whether
- 6:04we had them or didn't have them, or the substance, Garcia.
- 6:08So let's look at the handling of client Maxwell. Obviously
- 6:12a convicted sex trafficker. She sentenced to twenty years in
- 6:15federal prison. You earlier today called her evil. We can
- 6:18agree on that. I wonder, just to re clarify, miss Bondi,
- 6:23do you think that Maxwell deserves a pardon for her crimes?
- 6:25Bondy No, Garcia, Okay, thank you, we agree on that
- 6:29as well. Now I also want to talk to you
- 6:31about the prison. She was moved to a less secure prison.
- 6:35You mentioned earlier that it was comparable. In fact, that's
- 6:38not correct. There are four levels of prison within the GOP.
- 6:42She was moved to the minimum level from another level,
- 6:46so she was actually moved to a lower level, less
- 6:48secure facility per BOP. We have an exhibit on it.
- 6:52If we need to also share that our counsel can
- 6:55pass it around. Do you think that she should have
- 6:57been moved to a less secure prison? I think any
- 7:01inmate should be moved somewhere where they can be safe,
- 7:03regardless of what crime they committed. That would be a
- 7:06question directed at the Bureau of Prisons, and I have
- 7:10full faith in Billy Marshall, who is the director of
- 7:12the Bureau of Prisons. Garcia, but will you acknowledge that
- 7:16she was moved to a less secure facility? Bondy, No,
- 7:19because I have no knowledge of that, Garcia. Okay. I
- 7:23do want to make sure that we get that exhibit out,
- 7:25but that is the case, she was moved to a
- 7:28less secure facility. Do you know if Acting Ag Todd
- 7:31Blanche ordered the move to a less secure facility? Bondye,
- 7:35I have no knowledge of that, Garcia. Did you ever
- 7:38ask anyone to move Glenn Maxwell to a different prison, Bondy.
- 7:42As I stated earlier, I knew she was moved when
- 7:45I read it. I guess online or saw it. Garcia, Okay,
- 7:49did you talk to the Acting Ag mister Blanche after
- 7:52you read it online? Dylan on any topic? Garcia on
- 7:57the actual move Glen Maxwell to the less secure facility, BONDI,
- 8:01I don't recall. I would direct that though to the
- 8:04Bureau of Prisons. I don't recall Garcia, Okay. I just think, obviously,
- 8:08the move Glenn Maxwell to a lesscure facility was everywhere,
- 8:12was being discussed in the news, a massive, obviously move
- 8:16that the Bureau of Prisons ended up making under whose
- 8:18direction we still have yet no answer on. And so
- 8:22it's interesting, of course that you don't recall if there
- 8:24was ever a conversation. Did you have a conversation with
- 8:27the Bureau of Prisons about the move after what happened, Bondie,
- 8:32I believe. I ran into them and at an event
- 8:35and I asked it was moved to a similar level,
- 8:37and they said, yes, I believe. But this is why
- 8:40it's not unusual. As a career prosecutor, she was on
- 8:43top of the news, and if she was getting threats,
- 8:45I don't know even where she was moved where she's
- 8:48housed now, But if any defendant at any level is
- 8:51getting threats, it's common to move people within the prison system.
- 8:55That's why it wasn't that unusual to me. That's an
- 8:57absolute lie, by the way, and also, nobody would threatening
- 9:00her in the Honor Dorm in Tallahassee. Now you see
- 9:04why Pam Bondi didn't want to be under oath. Garcia,
- 9:09thank you, And would you agree that perhaps the question
- 9:13should have been directed at the Bureau of Prisons and
- 9:15to the Acting AG Todd Blanche. Bondi, yes, question, okay,
- 9:18and so mister Blanche, Bureau of Prisons, that's where the
- 9:21information is at. Knowing what you Dylan jumps in, I
- 9:25would just not a congressman that mister Blanche actually made
- 9:28those remarks and said that during a briefing that you
- 9:31walked out of, mister Garcia. So, knowing what you know today,
- 9:35do you think that miss Maxwell should have been moved
- 9:38to that facility? Bondie anytime. I don't have details and
- 9:41if she received death threats, what kind of threats, but
- 9:44anytime an inmate at any level is threatened, they will
- 9:47be moved. Well, that's going to be great to hear
- 9:50for a lot of people that are being threatened in
- 9:51prison right now all over the country. Pam Bondy, former
- 9:54AG says, you're going to be moved. Start hitting those
- 9:57petitions up and if you have family members in prison,
- 10:00time to start sending letters in saying that they're being threatened,
- 10:03so everybody gets moved to a camp. That's what Bondi
- 10:06is saying, right. It's very common among prisons, state and
- 10:10federal to move inmates, and she had just recently given
- 10:13a very public interview. Garcia, thank you. Last question, you
- 10:17are aware that, of course, there was the Epstein File
- 10:20Transparency Act that passed in Congress, but there was also
- 10:23an active subpoena that the dj did actually not fully
- 10:26respond to. Are you aware of that, Bondy, I'm sorry,
- 10:29could you slow down and repeat that again, please, Garcia.
- 10:33So you're aware that besides the Epstein File Transparency Act
- 10:36that passed in Congress signed by the President, prior to that,
- 10:40there was an active subpoena passed by an oversight committee
- 10:43for the full release of the files, and that those
- 10:45two are separate. Bondi. Yeah, and that's when we released
- 10:49I believe approximately thirty three thousand or over thirty thousand.
- 10:53She gets cut off by Garcia. Thank you, and we'll
- 10:56continue with some additional questions on that. I'm going to
- 11:00turn this over to Representative Frost. Mister Frost, thank you
- 11:04very much. One quick question for clarification for the record,
- 11:08the Council kept referring to your participation here as a
- 11:10voluntary interview. Are you aware that this committee issued a
- 11:13subpoena to you, Bondy, yes. Question. Do you not consider
- 11:18this sit down to be complying with that subpoena? Bondy,
- 11:21I am no longer attorney general. The subpoena was regarding
- 11:24when I was Attorney General. I'm here voluntarily today. She
- 11:28gets caught off by Frost. So is it your opinion
- 11:31is that you sit She cuts them off to comply
- 11:35with you Frost again, So just to make sure for
- 11:37the record, in your opinion, the sit down is not
- 11:39to comply with the subpoena, but it's a voluntary interview.
- 11:42Have nothing to do with the subpoena issued by the committee, Bondi.
- 11:46I'm here to answer any questions that you have that
- 11:49I can answer. Regarding Jeffrey Epstein. I also came in
- 11:52while I was Attorney General to this committee voluntarily with
- 11:55Deputy Attorney General at the time, Blanche, who answered many
- 11:58of the questions that you're asking. However, during that hearing,
- 12:02I believe many of you, if not all of you, left,
- 12:05Frost cuts her off. Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am, thank you.
- 12:08And just for a clarification of the record, now she
- 12:10cuts him off. So many of those excuse me, I'm sorry,
- 12:13I didn't mean to interrupt you. Many of those have
- 12:15been asked and answered by at the time, the Deputy
- 12:18Attorney General Frost. Yeah, thank you, ma'am. And just for
- 12:21clarification for the record, you do not see this sit down,
- 12:24this voluntary interview, as you call it, as complying with
- 12:27the subpoena that the committee issued. You see this as
- 12:30a separate thing. Mister Ginn. I'm sure, I'm confident that
- 12:34you're aware that the answer to that is actually that
- 12:36there was a robust discussion between the Department of Justice
- 12:39and this committee about how the Department of Justice would
- 12:42fulfill its obligation in responding to the subpoena. And this
- 12:45sit down interview right now, is the Department of Justice
- 12:48compliance with the committee's request to have time to speak
- 12:52with the Attorney General. Yeah, because comer hooked her up.
- 12:57Stop of the bullshit, mister Frost. So miss, just for
- 13:00clarification for the record, is the answer. Yes, you do
- 13:03see this sit down as complying with the subpoena. Mister Ginn. Again,
- 13:07the contents of former Attorney General Bondie's testimony do not
- 13:11overlap with the content of Counsel's negotiation with you all.
- 13:14So I mean, I think the answer to that information
- 13:17is really directed to Miss Dillon and myself and the
- 13:20Attorney General. Mister Frost, Okay, So, Miss Bondi, you don't
- 13:24have an answer for that on whether or not you
- 13:27see this as complying with the subpoena. Miss Dillon, she's
- 13:30not going to answer that, mister Frost. Okay, So you
- 13:32won't answer the question. Okay, back to the Glen Maxwell transfer.
- 13:37Are you aware if President Trump was informed about the
- 13:39transfer before it happened? Bondi, I'm not going to discuss
- 13:42any conversation that I had or did not have with
- 13:45the President of the United States on this topic or others.
- 13:48Mister Frost, Yeah, I understand that, but it's not about
- 13:51the conversation you might have had with him. My question is,
- 13:54are you aware if he knew about it before it happened? Bondi.
- 13:58I'm not going to discuss any conversation that I might
- 14:01have had or not had with the President of the
- 14:03United States. Mister Frost, So, just for clarification, it seems
- 14:07like you won't answer my question relating to conversations you've
- 14:10had with the president, but also any conversations you've had
- 14:14about the president. Is that true, Bondy, no question, okay.
- 14:18So my question has to do with if you're aware
- 14:21that he knew about it, not if he told you
- 14:23he knew about it. Gin jumps in once again, I'm
- 14:27just going to object to this entire line of questioning.
- 14:29It's just argumentative and completely unproductive. Redacted, Council. This is
- 14:34a transcribed interview. There are no objections, Frost. Yeah, I'm
- 14:38just asking questions and I'm just trying to understand the
- 14:40scope of things, Dylan. If members are tchewing up their
- 14:43time repeating themselves, that is not our problem, Bondi. I
- 14:47am not aware of the President having any knowledge of it,
- 14:50whether it be from reading in the paper or people
- 14:53reporting that he did, or talking to anyone about it.
- 14:57I have no knowledge of that, mister Frost. Okay, thank you, ma'am.
- 15:01Did anyone in the administration ever express concern about the
- 15:04transfer or urge Bo Peter reverse it, Bondie. I'm not
- 15:10going to discuss any conversations that I had or did
- 15:12not have with the administration, mister Frost. Okay, thank you redacted.
- 15:19Just a really quick clarification, and it's not so much
- 15:22for you all, but more just for the record. The
- 15:25reference to the relationship between the subpoena, a deposition, a
- 15:28transcribed interview related discussions, we have not been part of
- 15:32those discussions and we haven't been read into those discussions,
- 15:35so we don't actually have any knowledge of that. So
- 15:38that's just for the transcript. Please continue, all right, folks,
- 15:42We're going to wrap up right here, and in the
- 15:43next episode, we're going to pick up where we left off.
- 15:46All the information that goes with this episode can be
- 15:49found in the description box.
