- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Ooh, today we have a lesson from Napoleon Hill who is very old
- 0:35school. I know most of us have read
- 0:37Think and Grow, Rich maybe more than once and we've all walked
- 0:42away with that. The gems that that book has to
- 0:45offer. There's one particular quote,
- 0:48that is just so powerful and so poignant, it's worth focusing on
- 0:54for a period of time is willpower is the outgrowth of
- 0:59definiteness of Purpose expressed through persistent
- 1:03action, based on personal initiative.
- 1:07That's a lot encompassing in that one little sentence because
- 1:12we as human beings, we want to believe that.
- 1:15We all have a purpose. We all when we do, we all have a
- 1:19purpose and we want to believe that at the core of who we are.
- 1:21We want to believe, we all have a purpose in that.
- 1:23The meaning of our life is definite in Clarity so that we
- 1:28can know that. It all matters, right?
- 1:31Everything has to matter to us at some point in time because
- 1:35otherwise what's it all for, right?
- 1:37So we think about this on our purpose and we say Okay
- 1:42definiteness of purpose like are you sure and this is where so
- 1:46many people get hung up on I'm not sure on my purpose I'm not
- 1:50sure. Can I have multiple purposes?
- 1:53I've had that question asked to me so many times.
- 1:55I've had people say to me well you know, they say you can have
- 1:58to only pick one thing and master it Which I happen to
- 2:01think it's a bunch of crap, but just because I've seen people
- 2:05who are extraordinarily successful be outstanding at
- 2:09multiple things for instant Albert, Einstein was a gifted
- 2:13musician, as well as a mathematician, as well as a
- 2:17general creative person. Who could do multiple things
- 2:21extremely well. He had, you know, that that gift
- 2:26of creativity randeep. Threw him through his soul.
- 2:29And without question, Kitchen. He had a definiteness of purpose
- 2:34and that purpose spanned multiple areas.
- 2:37So what does it come down to? When you hear that statement
- 2:40willpower is the outgrowth of definite purpose?
- 2:43Meaning that's the first, let's divide this up.
- 2:45So the first part of it is when you have willpower to stick to
- 2:49something, when you have stick-to-itiveness, if you will,
- 2:52and your whole being is sticky towards.
- 2:55Something, you without question at that point in time, we'll
- 3:00have Of the willpower to keep it up because you love it.
- 3:04I mean that's what happened to me with coaching.
- 3:06I loved it so much. I loved the results.
- 3:09I loved having it show up in my own life and how I was becoming
- 3:13a different person. But I loved working with my
- 3:15clients and seeing how they were growing in there were becoming
- 3:18infinitely better day by day. So to me that was just a that
- 3:23gave me the will power to do all the things that I needed to do
- 3:26to learn and to continue to grow.
- 3:30It pushes you when you're aligned with that purpose and
- 3:35the Persistence of action, meaning you've got to keep
- 3:39taking that action over and over, not just notice his words
- 3:43there. What did it wasn't?
- 3:44Just take action. It was persistent action.
- 3:47Now, I have very well known in my circles for being the person
- 3:51that says you know small steps add up constantly doing one
- 3:55thing, everyday little tiny steps you don't have to take the
- 3:58massive Action all the time. But what you have to do is you
- 4:01have to be consistent with small action.
- 4:04That's why doing things like tracking.
- 4:06Your steps is so important, because when you start tracking
- 4:09your steps on a Fitbit, it's quite enlightening.
- 4:11None of you have ever done it. But it actually transformed my
- 4:14life personally because I didn't realize how little I was
- 4:18walking. And then I, when I got my Fitbit
- 4:20and I started looking at my, these are tiny, this is a step.
- 4:22This is One Step in Time, literally a step at a time and
- 4:27you know, the number Thousand. Actually, if you study it was a
- 4:31rather random number I'll be at a good number.
- 4:33It was just a random number that they came up with and okay, so
- 4:3810,000 steps that should be pretty good.
- 4:39Doesn't burn, 2000 calories. But he'll you know what?
- 4:42At least it was moving and when I started realizing that, those
- 4:46steps, how they add up and how they affect you, when you don't
- 4:49take the right number of steps that you need for your body,
- 4:52because each body is different, then it's like, okay, well I can
- 4:55do another 10, you know, another 10 steps I can do another. 100
- 4:59steps, I can do another thousand steps.
- 5:01And before, you know it you've trained your body to do twenty
- 5:03thousand steps a day and then some and that's real.
- 5:07That's a number that I do every day and it's one step at a time.
- 5:11And that just drills it into my head, that persistent action
- 5:14gets you to the fitness level that you want or anything else
- 5:18that might be engaged with it. And it's all has to be based on
- 5:22his last, his last two words, personal initiative, meaning
- 5:26you've got to light your own fire.
- 5:28Nobody, Can light your fire for you, you've got to light your
- 5:32own fire and when you do, let your own fire, when you do start
- 5:35to do things like that, it is extremely enlightening to feel
- 5:41like you have put yourself into a position where you are driving
- 5:46your train. I don't need anybody else to
- 5:48pump me up. I'll be at I have a coach and I
- 5:50work with my coach but I do not need him to light me up for this
- 5:56because I have personal initiative and the looking to
- 5:59yourself and say, well, do I have personal initiative is a
- 6:01really important question, do I might committed to this, do I
- 6:05feel like I light my own fire up in this because ultimately no
- 6:10one can do the lighting of the fire.
- 6:12But you, I go to my coach so that he can Stoke, my fire and
- 6:16help me understand different thoughts.
- 6:18That's the gift. But the I lit, the fire, I lit
- 6:21the fire, and I keep the fire going because it's important to
- 6:24me. That peace is important to me.
- 6:26So my suggestion to you is again, Listen to the phrase
- 6:30willpower is the outgrowth of definiteness of purpose,
- 6:34expressed through persistent action based on personal
- 6:38initiative. You know, it's nothing but pure
- 6:43gold in that luck happens when you're prepared and meets
- 6:47opportunity as the phrase goes, right.
- 6:49It isn't an accident success occurs.
- 6:52When you have a definite purpose in your life and you take
- 6:56initiative to follow through on action, every single All day
- 7:00make no mistake everybody and people make the mistake all the
- 7:04time thinking that they don't have to do anything and they're
- 7:07just going to get lucky. Well, guess what, any action
- 7:11that you take towards it is going to help you move closer to
- 7:14being persistent in that and it retrains your brain.
- 7:17So I hope you have a very blessed day filled with an
- 7:22acknowledgement of definiteness of purpose and help you and it
- 7:26helps you move through to get that initiative.
- 7:29Moving and keep that fire. Stoked Inlet.
- 7:32Alright guys I will see you all tomorrow.
- 7:34Bye.
