  Welcome to episode 162 of the Early Legions Podcast, and this

  week we're going to talk about head repaints in Mythic Legions.

  They've done many in the line so far, but we're going to look at

  what ones they possibly have left to do or what ones we might
• 0:34
  do if there were head repaints. And we're talking about maybe
• 0:38
  head repaints that would go on a full new finger or maybe just a
• 0:42
  heads back, you know, future heads back or whatever.
• 0:44
  So lots of variety. And we'll, I think we mostly
• 0:47
  focus on mythics, but there will be some cosmics in there as
• 0:51
  well. Yeah.

  And we can use all the heads from all the lines, Figure
• 0:56
  Obscura, all those wonderful heads that they have there as
• 0:59
  well that they may repurpose into mythics, for example, or
• 1:03
  cosmics. It's just myself and Mal this

  week. So Rich has had to cry off at
• 1:10
  short notice. So we wish him recovery from

  whatever ailment is taking away from us this week.

  The one the one head is possibly, I mean unless they're

  limited, but got a run done already, hasn't it?

  No nothing nothing come in. I've still got one of my in

  stock orders not had any notice for but they didn't say it would

  take a while. I did put a couple of orders in

  for this pre-order of the Gladiators, kept them just like

  a few figures and it sort of dawned on me what I wanted most
• 4:53
  was the belts and the boots. Although I have also then
• 4:56
  realised that the boots aren't any good without that upper
• 5:00
  upper bit of the lower legs. So yeah, you need the trousers
• 5:04
  as well. You need the trousers as well.

  Yeah, yeah, that's where I struggle a little bit with the
• 5:10
  with the armour and the boots. Yeah, yeah.

  But it's what it is, yeah. That's where, and I also think
• 5:21
  that's where the barbarian character pack in in the RPG is
• 5:26
  great because you get the, OK, it's the fur boots, but I think
• 5:29
  they're cool as well. Yeah, yeah, I could definitely
• 5:32
  do with a couple more of them. Yeah, and you also get a little
• 5:35
  waist piece. So if you have lots of other
• 5:39
  parts in your bins, then you know that's a very valuable a
• 5:44
  little pack to have so. I do actually have a couple of
• 5:47
  thighs, sets of thighs with no no crotch piece.

  So yeah that would be good. Awesome.

  I do need to do need to pre-order some more of them,

  probably from figure and lagging.

  Yeah, absolutely. Yeah.

  They have the best prices, definitely better than the UK

  retailer for sure and definitely most, most competitive on the on

  the continent here. So definitely give figure a look

  We got Mal's heads. So first up for Mal is auto #1.

  Probably a little bit predictable.

  Not really a head repaint, more that this head was for a long
• 6:38
  time and still is one of the best heads they've ever done.

  Main reason I wanted the figure originally.

  Yeah, I do. I do really like the way they've
• 6:48
  redone it, but I actually think I still really like this head.

  So it'd be quite cool to get this just doesn't as I say, not
• 6:55
  even a repaint just as it was. Maybe as an add in to probably
• 6:59
  cosmic would would be a good way of getting it in there.

  Yeah, so that'd be cool. Yeah.

  So what's the what's the main difference here?

  Is that the ponytail doesn't come out Anything else with the

  sculpt? I think he's a bit wider, isn't

  he? Because it's almost as if he's a

  little bit older than the one we've got and I don't, I think

  they've done the one we've gotten a bit younger.

  Maybe it's the other way around, but I feel like he looks a

  little older, bit bit wider, Jord.

  And yeah, the ponytail doesn't come out to them, but I suppose

  they could do it a little bit like the new Atlas with a

  slightly softer rippery bit. That'd be quite cool if if they

  can. But yeah, as I say, maybe as an

  extra head in a, in a cosmic figure of some sort that that if

  they were going to repaint it, maybe give it more of an alien
• 7:52
  look to the face, but I'd be happy.

  Oh, for cosmic, yeah, I think or or lean into the older face and

  do kind of bits of grey in the dreadlocks or something like

  that. Yeah, yeah, that'd be pretty

  cool as well. Anything, just I just really

  like that head. Yeah, very good.

  Strong start there and then we got this fella.

  Love the snag head. To me, he's like the

  quintessential goblin head. I've got a couple.

  I should just repaint one of them, the hood on one of them.

  I'd be, I'd be happy with us with something anywhere from

  just the hood repainted to if they wanted to do like a fury

  goblin or or rather that'd be really cool too.

  I'd be happy with that. As I say, to me it's just like

  the quintessential goblin head. Yeah, I think a kind of a Red

  Hood would be cool. I think.

  Yes, Goblins with that, maybe. I'd love to see them do it, you

  know, ahead with the big nose like this.

  Maybe learn more into the kind of yellowish with the kind of

  pinky nose that that's a classic, yeah.

  That, I don't know, feels like heads packed, doesn't it?

  Because I think you couldn't really do much more with his

  We've got bare arms and all that, but it'd still be very

  similar build wooden teeth because the shape of the head

  and the it's quite a thin head in that respect.

  The Crusher. The Crusher, one of her, you

  don't hear much about her, but she's still one of my favourite

  figures. She she's the original female

  barbarian in the line. We we've had this head once

  before on the deluxe Org Builder.

  That was with the I believe Once Upon a time there was a computer

  getting going to be made. There was some figures that went

  along with that. Oh yeah.

  I really like that, sorry. We've been through them and went

  really I actually am using under custom.

  Well, yeah, it's more of a pop and swap the the old version of

  this head, but I'd love it again either again could be utilised

  in cosmic with a a new paint job.

  I mean she's already on both designs got tattoos or paint

  along the side of her head that's bald.

  That just looked really cool with some sort of cosmic design

  could possibly redesign Juno, make her a bit less bare,

  perhaps with. More of an armoured person,

  So yeah, yeah, just I'd just be really happy to get this head

  done in another way or, you know, another style for sure.

  see them done in another way. And this is one of them.

  This is one of those heads that when initially it was shown off,

  I was like, I don't really know what to make of that.

  Because she. I always feel like that when we

  talked about this is almost anime vibes about the figure,

  about the head. More I've seen it, the more I

  really, really like it. Yeah.

  This is the reverse of Juno. I love a redhead.

  I think that'd look really good with red hair like that sculpt.

  But again, I'd happy be happy if she was in cosmic or if it was a

  heads back or it's unlikely to be another character.

  I don't think she feels quite an important one, doesn't she?

  But yeah, so that would be cool to get that one in a different

  deco as well through paint app. What if you want to call?

  Another, another beautiful female sculpt.

  Yeah. It's an amazing head as skeleton

  heads. It's probably the best scaphoid

  2 version 2 just painted perhaps more in a bone colour and

  something done to bring out the runes.

  You know, maybe maybe they could be, I mean, it'd possibly be
• 12:45
  hard, but painted red, so some sort of blood runes or.

  Or yeah, I was thinking red or orange.

  Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just do that technique where

  you, you just kind of wipe the paint and then wipe it all off.

  Yeah. And then you could try brush

  over it so that you just catch the the bits that maybe have a,

  you know, an over spill of the paint and and you leave the
• 13:10
  orange in there. And to be honest, that feels
• 13:14
  like that absolutely could just be another skeleton major, some

  sort of couldn't. It could be what they do is they
• 13:19
  carve runes into their themselves to help the magic.

  So yeah, it's a very cool head. It is absolutely, yeah, and

  might be perfect for a kind of a secondary head of a of a of a
• 13:33
  figure or builder or something like that, just so that it's not
• 13:37
  like a main character. No.

  Like Scaffold, you know, it's a sort of kind of a.

  as part of the RPG, which is awesome, but I'd also almost

  There's an element of I'd like to see it used, reused in

  Cosmic, and this is one of them. I think you'd make an awesome

  alien head any colour. Red always looks good, but we've

  had a red vampire looking head, so maybe something else.

  I think it's such a a gruesome like monstrous head.

  And you could do, they could even do like a design on his

  really make him look different from from how he looks here, you

  they're in it, if they die, it's a different thing.

  the human series or something like that, they might have a

  very last scene of the last episode is like Horde actors

  kind of coming out of the shadows.

  kind of ruin it, wouldn't? Yeah, absolutely.

  That and yeah, I think Atlas is that's the one humany type of

  head, way more so than Magnus that I'll take all the repaints

  of because I don't know why. Well, it's it's just got so much

  going on with the beard and the ponytail.

  And it's kind of like if if we really had the, you know, the
• 18:40
  life that we all wanted, which is this surfer dude down by the

  beach. No, doesn't need to care about

  money, you know, kind of just hangs out all day.

  Women are just, you know, magnetically attracted to him.

  It probably looks a bit like Atlas, you know, let's be
• 18:54
  honest. Or, you know, you know, even the

  Hemsworth as tour vibes, you know, kind of absolutely all

  that kind of thing. And I do think that even just

  hair repaints and painting in the eye on the sculpt, it does
• 19:10
  kind of change the character enough.

  Oh yeah, for sure. Definitely one time.

  I mean, maybe now they've done what black hair they've done the

  the Highland Warrior, but I think and they've done the Adam

  on, of course. But I think I love him as old

  Oh yeah. Well, I mean that would the

  Highland Warrior is still the old sculpt I think isn't.

  the thing that came to mind with this one, just even if it's the

  only one they do, it's just an update of Adamant would be

  really cool. Would probably, I think we'd all

  love the new Adamant and Celtos. Yes, yes, they were two of the

  figures that just, they just got me, I don't know, kind of

  feeling that different way about the line back in the day.

  It was like, you have to get these, and then they were so

  good that you're like, yeah, I need all these figures.

  They they were the ones that nearly got me and I resisted

  until they then did. The following year they did the

  two cow Ross and yeah. What's the purple one called?

  Yeah, of course. And I couldn't resist those two.

  And then very quickly the next one I got was Atlas, because

  it's the next sort of barbarian looking thing one.

  And of course I recognised the head as being the one I'd seen

  on the He Man tribute the year before so.

  Yep, Yeah, yeah, very cool, right, Female dwarf.

  So we. Do have her we.

  Do have her? And OK, I guess the idea would
• 20:52
  be we get another female dwarf head, but actually this is a
• 20:55
  really cool sculpt, a really cool head.

  I'd settle for a couple of repaints of this in the
• 21:01
  meantime, again, maybe as a second head to another
• 21:06
  character, or again in a heads pack.

  Either or. Yeah, and you could, you could

  slightly change the skin tone, you know, maybe give it, give
• 21:15
  her freckles different hair colour is obvious, you know,
• 21:18
  make it either more tanned or more kind of light with
• 21:23
  freckles, change the eye colour. I think it's it could do I think
• 21:27
  that the shape of the hair, the face and features, you might
• 21:31
  even get away with giving her a darker skin tone as well.

  Yeah, possibly. Yeah, yeah, make a very
• 21:39
  different. That would, that would indeed,
• 21:41
  yeah, be interesting to see. They could always try it and,
• 21:44
  you know, in house and see how it looks.

  And, you know, I suppose you need to be sensitive about these

  things and not just trying, but it could work.

  Yeah. But yeah, I think definitely if

  they're going to do another female dwarf, they could either

  have this as a second head or even the main head repainted,

  you know, and I think it would look cool.

  So there you go. There's something I was thinking

  about. So so with the new dwarves, what

  have you done? Have you used the classic neck

  peg or have you stuck with the the normal neck peg that you

  neck pegs work work on these new dwarves for sure.

  they use for sort of normal human characters.

  I just like the way they're they sit with their head sits up a

  bit more with it and and with them having the big shoulders as

  well, it kind of lifts above that.

  So yeah, but I do keep them in an hour and over whether to have

  a play and swap them out for sure.

  But at the moment I'm happy with the way they look.

  Just I've got, well I've got 2-2 of the guys with this bit

  swapped around and, and different trousers and, and just

  the one of the of her at the moment, partly just because I

  didn't want the same head sculpt twice and and he didn't.

  Display the helmeted head on. I'm not I'm not that fussed by

  the helmeted head, I think it looks cool but I'm I'm much

  prefer. You don't have an Anthony on her

  on your shelf. I'm.
