Transcript
- 0:03Hello and welcome back to the episode of Bansett Lorenzi.
- 0:06How are you all doing if you're doing great?
- 0:07For today's episode, I want to talk about Nollywood actor Emeki
- 0:11and his son Sean Michael Iki. Now we're just sitting on
- 0:16minding our business, Jaruma. Jaruma posted a video on her
- 0:22page where she, she and Emeki's son were frolicking on a bed.
- 0:29Now let me just play that video for you.
- 0:31Cool. So he just gets up and then he
- 0:34goes and makes love to the side chick to get like to me.
- 0:43Who's in that? The The.
- 0:44Actor. Who?
- 0:47The model. You don't know him.
- 0:49Who's actor? The model?
- 0:50No, no, no. No, no.
- 0:52Who? Who?
- 0:53He's just a guy. It's not like making making love
- 0:57to me, but like in the video, he will Make Love to me.
- 0:59He's making love with you. Yes, to me, he's making love.
- 1:03And your breasts, yes. It's just a video, no?
- 1:12No, no. It's just.
- 1:13I'm making love. No.
- 1:15No. It's just a music video.
- 1:23We're not like really making love, love, love like in the
- 1:26video, but he but it's just a music.
- 1:35Are you going to Make Love to me in all my music videos?
- 1:38All all my music videos are you? Hearing.
- 1:43Me are you? Hearing me.
- 1:51No, thank you. So but what if you're not
- 1:58around? Yeah.
- 2:00And someone has to do it now. What if you're not around?
- 2:05Maybe you're travelling. Maybe you're in Germany.
- 2:06I'll wait for you. I'll wait for you.
- 2:10It's not like making love, making love.
- 2:12It's just but like you'll touch my bum, bum and touch my boobs.
- 2:18See, you will not make me angry. That's what you make me do.
- 2:20That's what you make me angry. It's just.
- 2:23I said no. So you you'll never let me go
- 2:25into the acting in the movie industry.
- 2:28So you'll. Not.
- 2:37Now this video sends a Mickey K rolling.
- 2:41MEK was mad. MEK was angry.
- 2:45MEK posted a longer pistol. You can imagine your father who
- 2:52has worked hard all his life trying to give the best to his
- 2:55child and Sure and Ek chose differently.
- 3:03I think I've learned to support people at their own level.
- 3:08You know, is it that you support them at their level or you leave
- 3:11them where they are? I think parents have this, you
- 3:17know, ideal life that they want their children to live.
- 3:19They have planned, you know, you have this child.
- 3:22You planned for this child. The child is growing up.
- 3:26You want them to be the best version of you.
- 3:29But this child, you know, has a different mind of his own.
- 3:33They have what they want to do with their lives.
- 3:35I think a Miki is still trying to wrap his head around the fact
- 3:39that his son Sean has chosen the entertainment route.
- 3:45I don't even know why he's surprised because the Miki is an
- 3:48entertainer, though the son chose differently.
- 3:50The son chose to be a musician. He chose to be.
- 3:55I don't even know what he's doing with Jaruma, which I think
- 3:58was why the father was angry. According to the dad, he sends
- 4:03Sean Michaels to school. He decided to drop out to be a
- 4:08musician. I think that was one of the
- 4:09reasons why the marriage with his mother not ended but had a
- 4:16very They had a very big fight because according to MKK his
- 4:22wife or his ex-wife decided to pack out.
- 4:26He travelled for a movie production or something.
- 4:29He came back and she has sold everything and moved out of the
- 4:31house according to MKK. So after she left, and she left
- 4:37with the help of a pastor, I think Pastor Chris, no, Pastor
- 4:43Chris, Pastor Chris, one of those, Pastor Chris.
- 4:50So she left with the pastor. She sold everything and she
- 4:54left. So the marriage at that point
- 4:56ended. I think Emeki said he was trying
- 4:59to get custody of the children or he had custody of the
- 5:01children, but for whatever reason, because of the elder
- 5:04ones, when he put them in school, they decided to move
- 5:09with their mother or the mother influenced them.
- 5:12According to Emeki K, depending on who you're listening to, if
- 5:15you listen to the wife or the ex-wife, she will tell you that
- 5:17Emeki K is abusive. He's this, he's that.
- 5:20And then when you listen to Emeki K, she will he will tell
- 5:22you that the wife is a Jezebel. Basically normal divorce drama.
- 5:29Now the kids cut in between this whole thing and you know,
- 5:32teenagers growing up, they are always going to test boundaries.
- 5:35Young adults, not because these are not teenagers.
- 5:38I think Shawn Michael, he's about 25 years old or 26, I
- 5:42don't know. They are going to test
- 5:44boundaries and depending on who is allowing them to do whatever
- 5:50they want to do, those are the kind of people that they will
- 5:52lean towards. So it happened that his ex-wife
- 5:57was accommodating to his choices, his life choices.
- 6:01He wanted to leave school to pursue his music career.
- 6:04He wanted to leave school to just to listen.
- 6:08Gen Z's these days, they don't. And I don't blame them honestly,
- 6:12because we, the millennials, we went to school, we studied all
- 6:15these things that they told us to study and our life will be
- 6:18better. But you come out and a Gen Z who
- 6:22is streaming on TikTok is making money that you probably never
- 6:27made you make in your life. So I understand why maybe Gen
- 6:32Z's are realising that not that education is a scam, but that
- 6:37long part of going to school, graduating, looking for a job,
- 6:43building a career, I think they've realised that that in
- 6:46itself is a scam, not the education.
- 6:49So what they're doing right now is to not just work because most
- 6:54times when you see people who are the employees, they would
- 6:58they, they, they have very big of mental health.
- 7:00If you stress them too much to quit the job because they know
- 7:04they can come on TikTok, they can make money they can go on
- 7:08YouTube, they can make money, they can go on Twitch, they can
- 7:11make money. So they have all these tools at
- 7:13their disposal, which yes, we millennials had, but then it
- 7:17wasn't, I mean, YouTube was not that big.
- 7:21Yes, very few people could make money from YouTube.
- 7:25But now there are so many platforms you can make money
- 7:28from, which is why MKK being an older generation is not
- 7:35understanding his son. So that is where the clash is
- 7:39coming. And because the mom is
- 7:41supporting the son, they have better relationship.
- 7:46Emeki said he wanted him to go to school, graduate before he
- 7:49could do his pursue his music career, which made sense because
- 7:53at I think at some point in life people are going to get to
- 7:56realise that you're going to need some level of education to
- 8:01move to the next level. Yes, you can be a streamer.
- 8:04Kai Senat right now is sitting down on YouTube reading every
- 8:09for 15 minutes to, you know, after making money on Twitch,
- 8:12after he's a millionaire. But he has realised that that is
- 8:17not what all like. He's 25.
- 8:20So what are you going to do for the rest of your life?
- 8:22You still have to find purpose. You still have to find something
- 8:25to do, which I think millennials have a balance to this whole
- 8:30thing because they've gone to school, they've had their
- 8:33careers, then they can pursue whatever they want to pursue.
- 8:36If that is not working, they can then lean back to their career,
- 8:40which is a balance which I think MKK maybe wants for his son
- 8:44because he's saying, listen, I studied engineering, I can do
- 8:48this, I can do that. Why are you with Jeruma?
- 8:52Let's say OK, you want to. According to MKK, he said, let's
- 8:57say you want to even go into entertainment industry, is it
- 8:59Jeruma? Now people may not understand
- 9:03why he's particular about Jeruma.
- 9:05Jeruma was the Kayamata ambassador like she Jeruma is
- 9:10APR guru and I think she knows exactly what she's doing.
- 9:16From 2015 up until this point, Jerome is going viral almost
- 9:21every quarter. She is anytime you don't see
- 9:25Jerome is because she doesn't want to be seen or because she's
- 9:28busy. A couple of months ago, people
- 9:31said that Jerome was addicted to, you know, substances.
- 9:35She she's nowhere to be seen. She's homeless.
- 9:39They said a whole lot of things about Jaruma, but one thing with
- 9:42her is if she's coming back, she's coming back.
- 9:45How she's going to make a big, big announcement.
- 9:48How is she doing it? Now?
- 9:50She is using Shern Michael Ike and then Michael is not liking
- 9:55it. Just look at the wish of Michael
- 9:57is is is, you know, hitting her Bumble.
- 10:00I, I can't even imagine a very, I can't even imagine, you know,
- 10:08as a parent, you're looking at your sword, you're looking at
- 10:11somebody you have high hopes for.
- 10:14Emiki said he bought a house in Germany for him thinking this
- 10:17boy is going to get his life together and relocate and enjoy
- 10:21all these things, only for this boy to be hitting Jaruma's Bom
- 10:24Bom. Emiki is not, is not happy.
- 10:30And Jaruma is coming out to say, listen, she is one of the most
- 10:34you know, he's your uncle. Uncle are making K.
- 10:38Or is it that they're making Ki don't even know what to say.
- 10:45I think sometimes you have to let people make their own
- 10:51mistakes. Regardless of how you want to
- 10:54help people, whether it's your child, whether it's your
- 10:56sibling, whether it's a cousin, whether it's a relation or
- 11:01somebody you know or a friend, if you, you, you think, OK, I
- 11:08can help you, This is the best way to do things.
- 11:13Do this, do this this way or do that this way, or I've
- 11:16experienced it. I don't want you to experience
- 11:18the same thing that I experienced.
- 11:20Sometimes they wouldn't get it because everybody have a set of
- 11:27goals that they want to achieve and most times it is best to
- 11:31allow them go through the process and if you want to
- 11:37interfere in that process, it's they would not like it.
- 11:43Some people become successful following their own process.
- 11:46Some people will not be successful following following a
- 11:51parents process or something that somebody has suggested for
- 11:54them and they are going to resent you.
- 11:57And then if they follow their own process and it happens that
- 12:00they're not successful, you are going to say I told you so.
- 12:03But at the end of the day, I think everybody should be
- 12:06allowed to live the life that they want to live.
- 12:09I think the only thing is not to sponsor or support them the way
- 12:14you can, but not to carry the load.
- 12:19I am very begone if I tell you this is fire.
- 12:23You decided to jump into it and you get burnt.
- 12:27Don't expect me to to rush you to the hospital.
- 12:29No, you're going to bear that pain.
- 12:33You are going to bear that pain. Listen, you're going to bear the
- 12:37pain. I can buy you.
- 12:39What's this GV? You know this old in days fire.
- 12:44They will. Let's if I burn you, you just
- 12:47use this blue substance. I can buy that one for you and
- 12:50you put it on your body and hopefully you get healed.
- 12:55But because I've told you this is fire and you decide to jump
- 12:58into it, it becomes your problem.
- 13:00It is no longer my problem. So sometimes we have to let
- 13:04people experience certain things and only within that experience
- 13:10or within that process, they're going to gain their own
- 13:13experience and then they're going to pick and choose what
- 13:16they do. If MK is trying to control his
- 13:19son right now, and then the son leave everything that he's doing
- 13:22and goes to Germany. And if Germany doesn't work out,
- 13:25he's always going to blame his father.
- 13:27But let's say he goes through everything that he's going
- 13:30through right now, this particular phase that he's going
- 13:32through. And if he doesn't work out, he's
- 13:35always going to have a father who he can turn back to become
- 13:39the prodigal son. Go back to your father, ask for
- 13:41forgiveness. And I mean, that's his son.
- 13:45He's always going to be there to help.
- 13:48So I think I make a case you just stay out of it.
- 13:52That's the only thing he can do. Stay out of it.
- 13:55Allow him to make his own mistakes.
- 13:57Allow him to learn from his mistakes.
- 13:59Allow him to hit Jaruma's bom Bom if that's what he wants to
- 14:02do. And when the chips fall and
- 14:09Jaruma starts dragging him online, if he wants to support,
- 14:14he can support. If he also wants to stay out of
- 14:16it at that point, he can also stay out of it.
- 14:19But at the end of the day, I think we should let people make
- 14:22mistakes, learn from their mistakes, and keep him moving.
- 14:25Let me know what you think. Do you think that MKK crying out
- 14:28online, calling out his son and Jaruma was the right thing to do
- 14:33even though the son is an adult? The son is over 25 years old.
- 14:37Or do you think that the son, Shawn Michael, is being
- 14:40insensitive by not graduating and then choosing to become an
- 14:45entertainer just like the father, although not an actor
- 14:49but a musician? Let me know what you think.
- 14:52Thank you very much for watching today's episode.
- 14:53Please like, like, like and share.
- 14:55Thank you very much for watching.
- 14:56Bye bye.
