- 0:00Speaker 1: Good morning, Christine.
- 0:00Speaker 2: And good morning, Cubby. Thank you. We'll start off with
- 0:02Speaker 2: Mayor Mamdani, who's criticizing the federal search of Representative Ilhan
- 0:07Speaker 2: Omar's Washington, D.C. area home, arguing that her citizenship should
- 0:10Speaker 2: not be used against her because of her political views.
- 0:13Speaker 2: And the search was conducted by agents with Homeland Security,
- 0:17Speaker 2: the investigative division of ICE. Pope Leo is undergoing surgery today.
- 0:22Speaker 2: He's in a hospital in Rome. It's to remove an
- 0:24Speaker 2: early stage growth from his lungs. He's 71 years old
- 0:28Speaker 2: and doctors say he will be in the hospital for
- 0:30Speaker 2: about a week. Leo said doctors recently discovered a nodule
- 0:35Speaker 2: in his lung and that it was detected at a
- 0:37Speaker 2: very early stage. And actress Selma Blair, free on bond
- 0:42Speaker 2: after being arraigned here in New York City in a
- 0:44Speaker 2: courtroom following a midair incident on a Delta flight. She's
- 0:48Speaker 2: facing assault charges after an alleged altercation Sunday night. She
- 0:52Speaker 2: was flying from L.A. to Kennedy Airport. And she's accused
- 0:55Speaker 2: of punching one flight attendant and biting another when they
- 0:59Speaker 2: stopped her from opening the plane's door mid-flight. Jessica Springsteen
- 1:04Speaker 2: is about to have a baby. And that means Bruce
- 1:07Speaker 2: Springsteen and his wife, Patty, are about to be grandparents
- 1:11Speaker 2: for a second time.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Look at that.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Their daughter is 34 years old. And they told the
- 1:16Speaker 2: news on Instagram on Saturday. Powerball jackpot is now $ 562
- 1:20Speaker 2: million because we didn't have a winner yesterday. On Monday night, sports, hockey,
- 1:26Speaker 2: the Devils lost to the Senators 4-1 football. Bills beat
- 1:30Speaker 2: the Rams 37-34 in overtime. And experts are saying, and
- 1:35Speaker 2: this is great because I just did this last night,
- 1:37Speaker 2: that we should not be listening to music as we
- 1:40Speaker 2: go to bed. You're hurting your sleep.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Oh, you're making Delilah mad.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Uh-oh. Your brain continues processing the song while you sleep.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Maybe put Delilah on a timer then. So a sleep
- 1:50Speaker 2: lab study found that around one quarter of participants who
- 1:53Speaker 2: listened to familiar songs before bedtime awoke during the night
- 1:57Speaker 2: with a melody stuck in their heads, like an earworm.
- 2:00Speaker 2: This spontaneous replaying of music in the mind, known as
- 2:03Speaker 2: an earworm, was associated with lower sleep quality.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Now, I know this study has to do with music,
- 2:08Speaker 1: but I feel it works with TV, too, because I
- 2:10Speaker 1: can't fall asleep with the TV.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. I can't.
- 2:12Speaker 1: How do people do that? Because I get sucked into
- 2:14Speaker 1: the storyline. I'm kind of half listening.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:16Speaker 1: And I'm like, this is getting good. And I perk up.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Right, right. I hear the story, and then the lights
- 2:21Speaker 2: from the TV flicker wakes me up. But I listen to, like,
- 2:25Speaker 2: you know, I tell Alexa to play sleep music. And
- 2:28Speaker 2: it's just kind of like what you would hear, like,
- 2:30Speaker 2: if you were getting a massage or something.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Oh, spa music kind of?
- 2:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and it helps me fall asleep. But now I'm
- 2:34Speaker 2: wondering if somewhere... In there.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:37Speaker 2: In the middle of my dreams or something. It's being interrupted. Right.
- 2:40Speaker 1: But everyone's different though. I hear about people that fall
- 2:42Speaker 1: asleep to music. They can't fall asleep without music. So
- 2:44Speaker 1: it's interesting.
