- Mike: What's up everybody? We're back. This is ⁓ season six, episode four. Wow, I had to think about that there for a second. But we're all high. Joe's off. He's on vacation. He went to Espana. so ⁓ just the four of us. It's ⁓ Chris is here. What's up, sir? Risi: Foamwork. Jamal Smith: Ha ha. Risi: Four of us. This is the most I think we've had all season. And I think with is not bad at all. I am happy. know, you know why I'm happy? ⁓ Because the won and I'm gonna I'm gonna know why I should have done fantasy football this year. Because I can't wait for this insight. Cause I've been ⁓ I am now the market for fantasy football, by the way. I'm I I I was not able ⁓ Mike: Four's four's the four's been the number. Jamal Smith: It's not bad. paul: Mm-hmm. Risi: to get my picks in, so I'm on the market for fantasy football. But I'm back. I'm ready to go. Mike: Speaking of that, Paul's here. What's up, sir? paul: Chris, I got you. Have no fear Paul is here. I will take care of everybody. Mike: Sorry, was it a little too early. ⁓ you you don't you don't even know about your ⁓ Wa paul: Wow, that music. ⁓ I can't wait. Never even heard it. Never even heard it. So I'm I'm excited for the new year. Eagles are one and ⁓ Let's get into it. I I missed y'all. Good to be back. Mike: ⁓ missed you. Jamal, what's going on, sir? Jamal Smith: to say that Eagles win came at the perfect time because the Phillies are stinking shit up and it's got me a little sad. ⁓ they kill me. But but but but big but I mean big win. Big win this weekend. That was amazing. you know Washington's Washington. But everyone looked all right and we we pulled it out and that it's carrying me. It's gonna carry me till next Sunday. Mike: ⁓ they just lost. They paul: Mm. Yeah. Risi: Yeah. paul: Not everybody looked all right. We'll talk about it. We'll talk about it. We'll talk about it. Mike: Yeah, we're gonna talk about that. We're gonna talk about that. ⁓ but before we get started, let's talk about ⁓ join us, guys. You can join us live on Riverside.fm ⁓ every Tuesday night between eight thirty and nine. We usually kick off. Also on YouTube, you can follow us live there. ⁓ episodes come out the next morning at six AM every Wednesday. Follow us on Instagram, bros on birds pod. ⁓ bros on birdspod at gmail.com and bros on birdspod. Podcast on TikTok. Alright, with that, ⁓ we're here to talk about the Eagles. We had a week one win. There's plenty to talk about, but the good thing, and certainly ⁓ the best thing, the Eagles are one and the headline's simple: Eagles 24, Commander's 22. We start the season 1-0, but Washington did make this ⁓ a lot closer than I think we wanted it to be, and I think we were a little bit nervous maybe in the first quarter or two about what was going on. Jalen Hurts finished 14 for 25, ⁓ 203 yards and three touchdown passes, 46 rushing yards. Saquon carried 15 times for 83 yards. Dallas Goddard, who we all said the week before was going to be the shining star of this week, caught four passes for seventy seven yards and two touchdowns, ⁓ including the forty three yard touchdown that ⁓ helped Philadelphia answer Washington's late push. ⁓ Got Chris. Risi: But hold on. I just let number one, QB1, Jalen Hurts. So there's been so much conversation. This is a make or break gear, the forum. AJ Brown has a game on Thursday where, you know, he he's gonna be, he's in Evan, right? He breaks his ankles, breaks his legs, can't the Drake Mae can't throw a ball to him. And look at look at the What was it? Look at the butterfly with sore legs passes that that butterfly with sore legs passes that Jalen Hurts is just dropping in there. I mean, Jalen was incredible. His stats, the fourteen for twenty five or two ⁓ three, it's like okay, three touchdowns on an NFC East game, by the way. Week one, dude, he was he was lights out. Mike: What a comment, right? Like Risi: Lights out. Mike: Did did Tay Wicks end up having more receiving yards than AJ Brown? paul: He did. And a touchdown. Jamal Smith: Yeah, I think so. Mike: Anatasha. Yeah. Anatasha. Risi: And and Dallas Goddard, right? And Dallas Goddard. paul: Two tutties. Mike: Yeah. Got got it. It had seventy seven yards, the same only had twenty five or twenty six, right? But I think you're gonna say what I'm about to say. Risi: Then did you again? ⁓ paul: Ha ha. Risi: Yeah, you go first. You show me mine, I'll show you my Mike: Did th did you hear the comment that Goddard made about the pass over the middle? The pass over the middle that he scored on. He said that was a pass that they had in the playbook forever that was always designed to go to AJ Brown. That was always just paul: No. Jamal Smith: What did he say? Wow. Risi: And the other piece that he said was that we didn't change anything. We ran the same system. We just played better. Like it d Dallas threw all this shade at AJ. Like if you hear those interviews, they they were amazing. paul: Well, to piggyback off that, I do believe they tried a couple different things except for that wide receiver screen, which they should just bury and never never do that again. You're gonna get Makai Lemon killed. ⁓ but I I like the under center stuff. Across the middle. You know, Jalen was a little late on a couple throws, but he threw some dimes. He was perfect passer rating almost. I think it was over one twelve. ⁓ 121 perfect passive rating passing rating or something like that but he he killed it ⁓ very confident and the haters and the the haters are really really quiet this week because their heroes Herbert ⁓ stafford ⁓ drake may they didn't have they didn't they didn't fare Bo Nicks they didn't fare too well Baker Mayfield three three fumbles In-Person: Number one is hard. Jamal Smith: Roasted. paul: And j and Jalen took care of the ball, which he does better than anybody, any quarterback on today. So I'm happy with the win. ⁓ man, that poor guy. Jesus. That's a bad situation. Bad situation. Jamal Smith: Roasted. Risi: Don't forget about Deshaun Watson. Mike: Dude, that that whole team. That's horrible. Jamal Smith: It it it's just crazy because I did not know what to expect. I think I expressed some of my concerns and some of my worries in the last podcast. But when they came out, I I thought, you know, besides the obvious rusts that you see on both sides of the ball, the Eagles look pretty good and Jalen looked on point. The one thing I'm really hoping to see though, and I I hope it's something that they can work on, especially with their line suffering the way that it is or struggling or however you want to put it. Like if we can get some quicker dump offs that make sense for Jalen. It seemed like when he did like a three or five step drop, guys were right in his face, and there was literally just no plays that had like formulated yet. I don't know if they expected their line to be a little better than it actually ended up being, and they thought he'd have a bit more time. But you just gotta have people in the right positions to be able to catch the ball like somewhere short down the field to take advantage of that blitz. Because they're gonna keep blitzing us like that. paul: Mm-hmm. Mike: Yeah, and I think Dickerson said last night on his show that Jalen was getting the ball out faster than usually. So that was than he then he used to last year. That's a good thing to see. I mean, I think look, I I think I'm willing to say and accept that there isn't much that they could have changed from the offense because it looked very similar to last year. Like it did and that I and I'm okay. Like I'm okay with that. If that is our system and who we are, then so be it. But if we can execute well and if we have receivers paul: Mm-hmm. It did. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Risi: Very Mike: that aren't afraid to get hit when the ball comes to them and and can do something with it, then then it could look a lot different. I always, and I won't I always admit that I put out there what I hate on Jalen and when he does things bad, I I point it out there. He played very well. He played how I expected him to play. Like what I wanted I shouldn't say expect, what I wanted him to play like. He was very cautious with the ball as usual. He didn't put any bad situations. He put the team on his back when he needed to, which was great to see. It looks like that ⁓ you know, ⁓ all business Jalen might be shelved and now he's actually playing to like win games and not worrying about like if my legs get hurt or my back gets hurt, I'm gonna go do what I gotta do to win a game. ⁓ team Jordan Hurts might have got shelves. And I'm happy about that. paul: Yeah. Risi: Yeah, yeah. I agree. Leading by example. Go ahead, Paul. paul: Yeah. Yeah. Let me ask Chris, Chris and Jamal. So Mike and I were at the game. So did you guys watch on TV, could you see the the offense trying to change, doing more different things with the replays and like what was Tom Brady saying? Cause ⁓ we didn't get that perspective. Risi: Well we'll well two things I'll start off with. One, the the E or no, it was Fox. It was on Fox. The broadcast was awful. Just a I gotta I gotta call that out now. paul: Mm-hmm. Mike: ⁓ I heard some markets some markets like we're losing connection and shit, right? Risi: So I literally had like I had it on my phone, then I started the stream 'cause I I pay for Comcast the Just for one on like I got a shout out, not even shout out, like a a bro on a donkey is Comcast and Fox for this. This was awful. The the ⁓ the the what do you call it? The one touchdown pass, you we didn't see it for like another thirteen seconds. It was it was unbelievable. Jamal Smith: Mm-hmm. paul: Really? Risi: ⁓ it was brutal. And I thought it was like my connection, so I'm on my phone. So anyway, that's that's besides the point right now. So I did rewatch some things. But like as far as like making adjustments and so forth, I paul: Mm. ⁓ Like Manion, like did you see the Mannion staple? Did you see the different things that everybody was talking about in the offseason? I was there, so I couldn't get a a good Risi: No. My read was that What I could watch, my my read was that they had a they had a plan, they executed the whole plan and it wasn't much different that like Mike said, like than last year. They just they the the shifts they had were some of the run plays because they could see, you know, and we'll get into it later, the offensive line wasn't wasn't doing its thing. But like it was on the both sides of the ball. Like I think through the first I don't know, almost half of the game, very rusty all the way through. There were some breakouts, but I didn't see much changing besides just learning what they could or cannot do. Like that's what that that was my read of the game. It was stick to the plan and we're gonna and we're gonna ride this through. Mike: What'd you Jamal Smith: I I think the only thing that really stood out to me was the way it appeared Jalen was going about like the passing offense. Where it felt like last season even if they were running routes and he was supposed to be on some kind of time, and he most of the time just abandoned that and would like get to the schoolyard shit. Whereas I think every one of his passes that he made that were like the big money passes, they were like an on time type pass. Like he was paul: Yeah. Jamal Smith: He was actually executing the offense with those passes as opposed to playing that backyard shit, which is cool. But whenever he pulled it down and would start running and looking, he he mostly ran. I I ⁓ think that's better for him since I still am not a hundred percent confident he's super great at anticipation, but he can do timing. He just has to trust the timing. And I felt like I saw some of that. Besides that ⁓ it did it did look eerily similar and those three announced made it feel that way and I think that might have had left me a little jaded. Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ paul: Mm, that third quarter. Yeah, that third quarter was brutal. Mike: Mm. I I yeah. Yeah. I I I agree that I w was wondering if that was what 'cause even at the beginning of the game there was a lot of like third three and outs. It was kinda ⁓ Jamal Smith: It's like PTSD. Only thing I will say though, because you did mention the commentary, yo, T P twelve, he was cooking. Like my man must have went to like announcer camp over the summer. Broke even swinging, man. Like I was being entertained. Yeah. A lot better. Noticeably better. Mike: Ha ha ha. Risi: Dude, he was good. paul: I heard he's gotten a lot better. That's what I'm hearing. Yeah. Risi: Dude, the the way he the way he broke down a play sheet, like, that was like some Mike: I watched the game yesterday, we watched it. I was pretty impressed with that. Risi: I'm like, I didn't think you were supp that was like some of the ⁓ again wrestling. You're not supposed to break the fourth wall kind of thing. Like I felt like that was a little bit on the other side a little bit. And I was like, Wow, I don't know if I need to know all this. This is really good stuff, you know. I don't want to I Jamal Smith: He was cooking. Mike: Yeah, he buste he busted out like his Super Bowl like ⁓ play sheet. Risi: I don't I don't wanna ⁓ he put I yeah, I don't know how they make the sausage. You know what I mean? I like sausage, but I don't wanna know how they make it. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Mike: That's good point. ⁓ we do need to point out though that Jaden Daniels did finish the game eighteen for thirty-four, 164 yards and two fourth quarter touchdowns. ⁓ and basically we bas we survived the game by ⁓ not allowing a two point conversion to happen at the end of the game. I I I I thought that they were we were gonna these two teams were the best two teams of the NFC East. Maybe that's different. I know we're gonna talk later on about another team, but ⁓ paul: Mm-hmm. Jamal Smith: Uh-huh. Mike: I I I I think Jaden Dani we've always all said that Jaden Daniels is going to be an issue that we're gonna deal with for years. And I think he's the one who made it. I don't necessarily think it had anything else bes to do with the fact that he's good. Like I'm saying, like none of the wide receivers were mind blowing, the running backs weren't mind blowing. Our our defense was okay. The collapse in the fourth is a little worrying, maybe. I don't know if that's early. I don't you guys can tell me what you think, but to give up, you know, what was it, thirteen points? In the fourth unanswered. Jamal Smith: Didn't love that. Didn't love that at all. paul: Yeah. Jamal Smith: I'm chalking it up though. I'm chalking it up to it being the first week. I'll give them three weeks to get that together. They look gassed. I mean, I think Yeah. That's fair. Yeah, that's fair. Risi: Okay. paul: It's gotta be four weeks. I'm sorry. It Mike: ⁓ I yeah. I mean Brady talked about it even on the the the broadcast. The first two weeks or or the whole month of September is still preseason. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Risi: It is now. It really is. But the yeah, the i it's an NFC East game, right? So it's gonna be close. That's why I looked at it. So the when they picked up the points, either way, it's always gonna come down to a one score game. It's just it's just how it always plays out. It's always a tight game. But we won. Go birds. Mike: Yeah. We did. And I I think we won in a way that w I'm not not necessarily happy with, but think we saw things that we wanted to see. And mainly being ⁓ a couple passes over the middle of the field, Jalen being smart with the ball, Jalen, you know, running when he needed to. And he actually looked really fucking fast. I don't know if anybody else felt that way. He looked really fucking fast. well who alright, let's go to let's go to bros and donkeys. It's been a while since we've done this. Paul paul: He did. He did. Jamal Smith: He did. He looked fast, man. paul: Let's go. All right. My bro is going to be Mr. Bond on the defensive end. He was Mike: I'll let you go first. Jamal Smith: It's a good one. paul: That man was all over the field. I mean, I don't know what happened to him in the offseason, but he came out motivated, I guess, to say, listen, Trotter and Campbell, this is still my defense. And he showed improved. So he was definitely my bro for the week. Mike: Nice. Who was your donkey? paul: My donkey. Hmm. I had a couple in mind, but ⁓ hate to do it to you, Coop, but Cooper De Jean. Cooper De Jean with the double moves and and biting. Now, not to get in too much of a tangent, this could be a problem moving forward with the slot receivers if this is what's gonna happen. You know, this is a copycat league if they see that he falls for the double moves or whatever. Mike: ⁓ you stole mine. Jamal Smith: ⁓ I know, kill me. paul: with this position that he's playing, it could be a problem moving forward, but he is sorry to do it to you, Coop, but Mike: All right, since since I'm picking him as my donkey too, I just want to run this down real quick because I said to you guys earlier I have one. So he had eight combined tackle tackles for solo, four assisted. He had one ⁓ hit on the QB. This is the bad thing, right? He was targeted a game high by Daniels nine times. He completed seven of the nine, five first downs, thirty yards allowed after the catch, and a ten yard touchdown reception to Stefan Diggs. Yeah. Risi: Mm. Ooh. ⁓ he saw something. Ugh, that's rough. Jamal Smith: It was a mismatch, man. I mean, Stefan Diggs is no joke. And I just don't know if Coop is on like he's a veteran. He's savvy. He's slick. That's a tough matchup for Coop. Mike: I I brought it up last week on the show. I had him down as one to watch that I'm a little nervous about. Like I like I think that maybe some of his not I'm not saying he's bad and I'm not saying we have anything major to worry about, but I think some of his inefficiencies might have been covered up by having blanket ship back there with him. paul: Hmm. Mike: But we'll see. We'll see. I mean, look, he he Stefan Diggs is who is s like, you know, getting yards on him. Stefan's good, but he's also old. So Jamal Smith: That's fair. He he's old, yeah. Mike: That are and we know they're not gonna target Q. And they didn't I they clearly if they didn't target Q, they didn't c ⁓ target Rick's ⁓ as much or or yeah, yeah, Rick's right. That's the new guy. ⁓ Mullen. Rick yeah. Thank you. ⁓ they didn't target him as much. They went after Coop for a reason. They saw something on tape. So that was my donkey too. I'll I'll give my bro real quick since I gave the donkey. My bro's gonna be Jalen. He backpacked the team. Jamal Smith: Wallen Reek. paul: Reek Willen. Yeah, Greek. They saw something. Risi: Be sure did. paul: He was the driver. Mike: Yeah. Go ahead, Chris. You're top right. Risi: As he should be. All right. So then if I go with my donkey, or let's go my Brona Bird first. I'm going Barona Bird. I'm gonna go Jalen Carter. I'm gonna go Jalen Carter for the block. Extra point there because that can that that caused a lot of extra ⁓ the extra two point conversion and then Stefan Diggs doing the the the the ridiculous ⁓ celebration brought him back. That little play right there caused a lot of disruption. And that's his fourth blocked extra point in field goal. Like that's insane. paul: Which is unbelievable. Mike: Yeah. So behind the scenes information, drunk Mike texted the hit to his family that that was a top five life moment. That was a top because I I heard the ball hit his hand. That's how close I was to it. And it was so loud that I was like, that might have been a top five life moment. Risi: ⁓ that's the that might be one of the texts. Jamal Smith: Mm. That's awesome. Risi: Yeah, that was awesome. You know what ⁓ t th hearing things in the stadium. I was ⁓ NFC championship game two thousand four. I'll never forget I think it was that game. It was the game Atlanta Falcons versus the Eagles and when B Dalk put the hurtin' on Michael Vick. And I'll never forget that hit. I think it was that game, but ⁓ that hit was ridiculous. So it's like I think you'll hear that, it'll stick with you. So but ⁓ my bro wanna donkey this week Mike: Yeah. Risi: I it's hard for me to give one, so I'm just gonna pile on AJ Brown as my bro on a donkey. Just because just because he's injured. I I don't wish ill will to anybody, but you're a bum. I'm so happy you're out of here. I I you're done. You're a donkey again. See ya later, pal. Jamal Smith: Ha ha. Mike: Look, ⁓ I've said it I've said it in the past that maybe I have magical powers 'cause I did text all of us before the game started, it would be really great if he had like ten catches for twenty five yards, and it'd be a real shame if he got hurt during the game. paul: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mike: And it happened within ten minutes of that. Just saying. Jamal Smith: What I'm appreciative. Ooh, this is really tough. ⁓ I'm the last one to go, right? So I will share. Initially, I was gonna go Dontavian Wicks because of you know, it was a pretty good debut. He seemed he seemed ⁓ like he was on point. He does, but I think I gotta Mike: Jamal, who were your picks? Yes. paul: Mm-hmm. He deserves it. Mike: He he looked way better than I think any of us thought he was gonna look. paul: He didn't drop anything and that was that was the ⁓ word on the streets before he got here. He drops balls, so Jamal Smith: Way better. Way better. And he did not. And he was everywhere he needed to be. But Brayden Mann, this guy. paul: Yeah. Mike: ⁓ yeah. That yo, we we he he definitely got a ⁓ drug test in his locker d on Monday. But you did did j did you watch any of the highlights from the rest of the week? He was like he was like one of three kickers that were doing that this weekend. There was another dude, I think the dude from Las Vegas kicked it from like their five to the fucking end zone on the other. Yeah. Jamal Smith: Jesus Christ. He was the paul: Wow. Jamal Smith: Mm, okay, okay. It's outrageous. Outrageous. The positioning was just perfect. I mean, we killed field positioning because of that. But who knows how that game would have looked if his punch weren't so on point. ⁓ but I I I can't really say any more about it. He's definitely my bro and a bird. He killed that shit. bro on a donkey. I'm gonna I'm gonna take some advice from Chris and I'm gonna avoid what seemed like the inevitable and just go the entire offensive line. ⁓ despite Mike: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Landed Dickerson being hurt. I would have to say that Mailada, who hasn't looked super in the last, I don't know, season in the game, did not look super again. Lane's looking Lane looks old. Yeah, like Lane looks old. ⁓ he does. And Jurgens, he just ain't Kelsey. ⁓ we have problems. I don't know how they're going to solve them. I don't know what they're gonna do to like scheme around it. But you could really see it. Mike: Yeah. paul: True. True. Mike: He looks like this is his last year. paul: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Like it it didn't take too many plays before Saquon couldn't even take more than two or three steps before getting touched. And that is not a winning formula. I I'm just not sure what they're gonna do. I hope they can play harder, play better, maybe they're too gassed. Whatever it is, we need to figure some shit out. Mike: One thing I want to add before we move on, ⁓ Mikhail, we didn't mention him. And I feel he's unfairly being shit on. ⁓ I like like I I like I think he played fine. And we can't ignore he bodied somebody on a fucking block for Saquon. Like he destroyed that guy. Like a lot of people, a lot of people were talking shit because he's well, that's what they're saying. He's your high Risi: It's a good paul: Mm-hmm. Risi: No. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Risi: Who's shitting on him? That's crazy. He's a ro Mike: He's your high pick rook and he didn't and he didn't produce any high n he had less than he had negative five yards or something. Risi: He was injured. Jamal Smith: I mean I mean he's a receiver though. Like what do they want? They never produced the first season. That's like some unicorn shit. Risi: They're crazy. Yeah. Yeah. paul: With We in Philadelphia just need a little bit of patience, but ⁓ Risi: Little bit of patience. He'll be fine. Mike: Yeah, I think the kid's gonna be fine. With that, Chris, ⁓ take us through Landon Dickerson. What happened? What did he say? And ⁓ what does it mean for us as the birds fans, as the for the birds and for us? paul: I hope so. Risi: Yeah, kinda piggyback off Jamal, the old line. We we need some Statlin University here. But ⁓ Dickerson Mike: I wait, I totally forgot about that too. He's gone. I completely forgot about that. paul: He ain't here no more. He gone, he gone. Jamal Smith: Yeah, yeah. Big. Risi: Yes, yes. ⁓ well it think about he's gone and Licker ⁓ liquor d Dickerson ⁓ Dickerson is Lickerson is headed into IR with his knee injury. But like l so he's gonna be out for four games. He played injured this game, clearly. Like I I just don't understand. He he was a turnstile this whole game and it was a shame to watch, right? Like it looked like Mike: Liquor. paul: Lickerson. Jamal Smith: Lickham Dickerson. Risi: You know, it's like when you when you see the dog limping around, you're like just like, ⁓ my god, put it down already, right? Like, put it down. And it's would you let like would Stoutland have let Dickerson play in this condition? He clearly was not himself. And he hasn't really been himself to be ⁓ you know, to be frank. This just it was almost embarrassing this game. So ⁓ he he's out for for ⁓ for a bit here, but like where's that leave us? You know, where's that leave us with the O line? Mike: Yeah, so I mean it's gonna be either Willie Lampkin or Drew Kendall. Is that the options? paul: Yeah. And I and I heard Lampkin is the favorite right now. ⁓ but we will see. Of course, ⁓ Nick Siriani on WIP this morning didn't say anything because of the ⁓ competitive advantage type yada yada yada. But ⁓ we'll see what happens. But ⁓ there's some shady stuff going on. He might have been hurt. Jamal Smith: I think so. I don't love either one of them. Risi: To lower body injury. paul: And they knew that and they j he just wanted to toughen out, but Mike: Well, he said he got he said he got rolled up on a couple practices ago. Yeah. paul: Weeks ago. Yeah, a couple of weeks ago. So Jamal Smith: Is Lamping is Lampkin any good? paul: People said he played well in the preseason, but that also was against second and third stringers, so time will tell. Risi: Yeah. But but what I'm g Jamal Smith: So this is th this is ⁓ this is unfair because Willie Lampkin just sounds like a dude who rents hotels like by the hour. Like he just he he just that name like kills me. Like I can't believe that he'd be good. paul: Mm-hmm. Risi: Ha Mike: It does. It's like it sounds like a Chappelle show skit. paul: First of all, are we even saying the name right? Jamal Smith: I think so. I think it's named Lampkin. I mean, no offense, Mr. Lampkin. I'm sure you're great at football and a great guy. But you sound like, you know, you hang out in ⁓ motels that you can rent by the hour. I hope that's not true. Risi: Yeah. I I wanna I wanna back it up though a little bit though. Like, would Stoutland have let Dickerson play in this condition? Do you think like think about it? Mike: Well did he hide it? Did Land did d that's the other thing. Did Landon hide it? Did he get hurt and he not say anything to anybody? That's my that's what my Risi: Come on now. Come on. Like paul: wasn't of course none none of us really know, but I would just say he just wanted to be there for his teammates and he wanted to tough it out and it just was bad. Like the O line was bad, bad. Mike: Yeah, exactly. ⁓ I I agree. Risi: But hold on, hold on. Stoutlin is a veteran, right? Like obviously he you c you're not getting something by the teacher that's savvy enough, right? Like the teacher knows that like you you've got the the answers hidden somewhere. Like they're gonna pick up on that. Like, is this a sub is this a thing where the the new guy is trying to I forget the guy's name right now. Is he is he trying to get some cred yeah, is he trying to get cred by like, okay, Landon, you play it out, I believe in you. paul: Mm-hmm. Chris Cooper, I think. That could be Risi: versus Stalin's like, no, you're too injured. You're gonna sit down. Like this it he was embarrassing. Like I I don't know if this is a Stalin like coaching issue. Mike: I mean he he literally said he played like shit, he admitted it. paul: Yeah, he said it. He said it last night. Jamal Smith: Yeah. paul: Yeah. Jamal Smith: So well, my my I'm not sure because I am not a doctor. I thought like a bone bruise was kind of like a pain tolerance type injury. That I mean, time will help heal it, but it's probably hard to identify. Like you have to rely on the person reporting whether it hurts or not in order to really know where they can go. Like that's one of those you can tough it out injuries if you can tough it out. I don't know if it was it confirmed that he has a bone bruise? Mike: Yeah. paul: That's what they're saying that's what they're calling it. Mike: ⁓ l yeah, knee bone bruiser something like that. They said is is it the knee that they're going with? Where's that? Jamal Smith: I I I believe so. Like I I just feel like that's one of those injuries where it relies a lot upon the person playing to say he can or can't. Because how how do you judge that? I don't know though as far as a bone burst. It's not like a a fracture or a tear. It's just like a sore spot. paul: I believe so. Risi: Yeah. I I don't know. I just I feel like the when the when the coach or the the the teacher is savvy enough, they'll pick up on it, right? They'll run an extra drill to put him in that position to answer that question or not. It just it was so obvious that Dickerson was not like he just got toasted. I mean, it was embarrassing. And and goes back to the the Jalen having no time or Saquon and and we still won, which is fantastic to see. Like Jalen balled out even with that problem. Jamal Smith: Mm. Yeah, yeah. Risi: So I hope he I hope he gets in ⁓ healed up and ready to go. But this O Lions i i they're beat up already in game one. Mike: Yeah. In-Person: It is like a Dickerson. paul: Mm-hmm. Risi: Perfect. Mike: Is perfect. I I but I mean maybe we'll maybe we will find out that that that Willie ⁓ Willie or or ⁓ Drew can be better or better and maybe they'll just be better, maybe it'll work out better. Like when Fred Johnson came in last year, we really did like we were or two years ago the first time he came in, we all were kind of freaking out. ⁓ my god, he's going over Lane Johnson, and Fred played really well, so maybe we can get the same thing again. I I I'm gonna be hopeful, I guess is the word I want. Risi: Hopeful. paul: I like it. Jamal Smith: I hope so. Mike: Okay, where are we go? ⁓ paul: Yes, yes, yes, yes. Mike: Hope you guys set your lineups based on what he told you two weeks ago and last week. ⁓ but here he is to give you his update on week one. It's fantasy ball paw. paul: Ladies and gentlemen, bros out in brosone birds birds world. Listen, this is my favorite time of the year. I love fantasy football. So listen, every week, this is what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna give you some gems, some sleepers at times, who to pick, who not to pick. But since I missed all that in the preseason, we're just gonna go with a week one recap. So Week one, this is out of PPR. This is the I'm gonna give you the top five of each position of what who did what and what and how. So week one, QBs, Caleb Williams, thirty-seven point three p points PPR. Second coming in, Josh Allen. Bryce Young in a losing effort. You wouldn't think he did that well, but he played the Chicago Bears, who scored fifty-nine points, so They put up he he put up good points. Trevor Lawrence was out there and coming in at number five was Jackson Dart. Any surprises there, boys? Mike: Jackson Dart. I didn't think he'd be that high. And actually I I well, I I won't say it was a surprise. I thought Josh Allen would be high, but then when the game started, he didn't really kick in until like the third quarter, because I'm I have him in one of my leagues and I was like, shit, this sucks, but it was good to see that he turned it around. paul: Okay. Yeah. No. Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha. paul: Well, that's fantasy. I also wanted to say, I should have said this at the top. You guys, this is week one, so let's not overreact to your stars. Trust the process. Don't hit the waiver wire already, even though I will get into the waiver wire, 'cause this is waiver wire Tuesday. Every Tuesday the waiver wire goes in effect and your players will be there Wednesday morning. Now let's go to the running backs. We got Derek Henry. He he was a beast, 35.3 yards ⁓ points. Jameer Gibbs coming in at 33.6. Al Shang Jante. He was a beast. 32.7 points. DeAndre Swift. DeAndre Swift or old pal. Balling out with 32.4. And then bringing up the rear Bijan Robinson from the Atlanta Falcons. Jamal Smith: Whew. I'd like to see that. Mike: Yeah. Had a game. paul: Now let's go to the wide receivers. This is a shock. Who had Jalen Coker starting this week? Ex Risi: Who? Who? Jamal Smith: Yeah, no one. Mike: I feel like if I had a personal fantasy football guy that showed up for week one or or preseason week one, I might have had him on my team. Jamal Smith: Hey, right. We missed opportunity. paul: Mike, Mike, I'ma tell you right now. I could have been there last week, the week before, the week before that, and I wouldn't have had Jalen Coker as the number one fantasy wide receiver. He had 33.8 points. Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers, Justin Jefferson's, Justin Jefferson, another staple. We had Amaron St. Brown. And and yeah, I know. And then Risi: Missed opportunity. In-Person: It is very difficult. Mike: Yeah, we did. I did. Jamal Smith: Yeah. ⁓ paul: I know. ⁓ Mike and I are in the same league, so I know what he had. And we had Chris Olave bringing up the rear. Now, the tight ends. We had one of our own in there. But first, Isaiah Likely, the new New York Giant. He looks good. Jackson and ⁓ Dart and him connected a lot. We had Trey McBride, another staple. ⁓ Dallas God Goddard at number three with 23.7. Mike Gasicki. No, that was a blast from the past. And Dalton Kincaid round rounded out the five. Now listen, I also want to, so I will give the I will give so they were like the bros of the week. Now the donkeys of the week. Rhythm and Ball Croy. The Donkeys of the Week, you might be surprised. AJ Brown was one of them. AJ Brown was one of them. In-Person: Rhythmic ball play. Risi: AJ Brown. Mike: A AJ Brown. ⁓ I I hold on. I I might have a couple on my team that could tell you. Go ahead. paul: You might, you might. ⁓ we got Jam we got Jamar Chase who was really, really disappointing. Drake London was disappointing. James Cook was very, very disappointing. One of my tight ends, qu ⁓ Colston Lovelin from the from the ⁓ Chicago Bears. Okay now they put up fifty nine points. He had zero points this week in fantasy, which is which is unheard of. Risi: Yeah. Jamal Smith: ⁓ huh. paul: And Matthew Stafford, another one of my quarterbacks that I had in one of my three leagues. They came up on the bad side. Now, as I said before, this is waiver Tuesday. Okay. Now, let me give you a couple people that might be on your waiver wire that you could pick up. Mike: Getting my phone out right now. paul: Darn sure or better. Let's go with the quarterbacks. We got Tyler Schuck. He had 410 passing yards and three TDs this week. Bryce Young, Panthers, in a losing effort, had 361 passing yards and four total TDs. Hope everybody's taking notes out here. This is important stuff. Jamal Smith: I'm writing all this down, every bit. Risi: taking notes for next year because I'm out of fantasy this year. In-Person: It is not even a question. Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha. paul: Now, I want you guys to sit all sit down like you are, but clean out your ears. The third quarterback that I'm gonna go with, Carson Wentz, who've who who who i it's worth keeping an eye on him because ⁓ who's their quarter starting quarterback? Minnesota went down with a concussion Murray, Kyler Murray. Murray went down with a concussion, Carson Wentz came in and was throwing that pill all around. Mike: Yeah. Jamal Smith: I loved it. Risi: Yes. Mike: ⁓ what's the same? ⁓ like the the kid who sits in the end zone. Yeah. Risi: ⁓ mm yeah. paul: How about running backs? We got Kalon Black, the 49ers, back up to Christian McCaffrey. A lot of people were looking at him. I got Devin Singletary from the Giants. He had six carries, four catches, and a TD. He's a sleeper. Nothing really that big. Condre Miller from the Saints, also worth adding. Okay. That's your running backs. Let's go to receivers, and then I'll get to tight ends. And then I have one big, big message for everybody. Jalen Coker, as I mentioned before, he went eight for 132 and two touchdowns. Some say this could be a breakout year for him. Who knows? Or it could be a one-week fluke. Mike: What does fantasy paul say? paul: That's a great question. I will say I don't think I would pick him up, even though he would be at the top of the waiver list for me. ⁓ he could be a replacement for my AJ. If I had AJ, he might be somebody you might want to replace him with. Because AJ's probably gone for a good six to eight weeks, unfortunately. And the Pats have a bye, I think, week 11. So that's something to look at as well. ⁓ Caleb Douglas from the Dolphins. He's a rookie. Somebody to look at. Tight ends, Mike Asicki, who I mentioned earlier, Michael Michael Mayer, who was replacing Brock Bowers, because he had emergency surgery before the league. That's somebody you could also look at. And Brayton Strange from the Jadwares. Interesting. It's more of a sleeper pick, but they are the three that I would go with. I wish I had like a a chalkboard or something to write this stuff down. But I know you guys are taking good notes out there. Bruise on board birds land. So ⁓ I just want to say Thursday, my starts of the week will be out. This is what I should have done in the preseason, but this is what you're gonna get for the remaining of the year. So Thursday, I will post a video that will be on all platforms, TikTok, all that good stuff of my starts of the week. ⁓ I'm trying not to steer you guys wrong. Let's have some fun with this and thank you. For the honor of letting me talk my ish about fantasy. Mike: So that just means if Paul's advice wins you your league, you need to send us money. You need us we get like we'll take a one percent share. Right? Right. Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha ha. Risi: Ha ⁓ paul: glad you said that. You know what? No, I i I'm doing this because I just love everybody. Okay. Now, anybody out there in the world that has questions for fantasy Paul, please send it to the chat. Ask me any questions and I'll be get and I'll be bab I'll be able to get to I'll be able to get it back to you. Risi: It just a modest. Mike: You you can send you can s yeah, s send it to the send it to the email bros on birdspod at gmail dot com. Just title your ⁓ your email ⁓ fantasy balls. Fantasy balls. paul: There we go. Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha. Risi: So should I I got one I got a question for you. Jalen Hurts or Jackson Dart, who am I starting next week? paul: Talk to me. Jalen Hurts, because you're going against the Tennessee Titans. Now who who's doubt who's who are the Giants playing? I don't know. Let me look. Who do the Giants have next week? Mike: Yeah. paul: go Hertz off the bat because I don't know if ⁓ dark can do that two weeks in a row. Let's see NFL. Risi: ⁓ They are playing. They're playing the Rams. That might be a shootout. Might be a shootout. Jamal Smith: I'm hoping to see him come back down to earth next week. paul: No, that's not a shootout. That Rams are gonna come back home mad and angry for losing in Australia. Okay? So that's a no brainer. Risi: All right. So Jalen Hurts is my no brainer, okay. You heard it here first. paul: Anybody else? Who's got it? Who's got another one? And write this down too, because I want to be fact checked. Mike: I'm trying to see. All right, here we go. I got one for ya. Because this was a close one this week. St do I stick with Jalen Waddle or do I replace him with Golden? Jamal Smith: ⁓ okay. paul: All right, talk to me. Talk to me. Jamal Smith: ⁓ Risi: Doo doo doo doo doo. Mike: That's a tough one. Jalen Waddle he got against Jacksonville at four ⁓ five. Golden ⁓ Green Bay is playing the Jets. paul: That's a good one. I would do I would do the Jets. I would do Golden 100%. Cause I will tell you guys, if you guys look at your waiver wire, if you guys look at your waiver wire tomorrow, Waddle could be somebody that gets dropped in a lot of leagues. If Jamal, you got one? Mike: Golden. Yeah, me too. Me too, that's what was thinking. Golden had a better week. I agree. Risi: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Wow. Ooh, I mean, ⁓ all in all, I've really been str struggling with fantasy this year. ⁓ my teams kinda suck. And and I don't want to blame you for not being here those first couple of but I will and I won't feel bad about it. so cook q QB, is it it what's the hottest Q B that's probably going to be in free agency that maybe should be picked up besides ⁓ anyone we've already mentioned? paul: Alright, I got you. Mm-mm, mm mm. Risi: I am. I am. paul: ⁓ let me honest to God, I really I I really think I really think Carson Wentz is gonna be picked up by a lot of people this week, man, because I don't know if Murray's gonna be able to come back from the concussion. And ⁓ I think that could save Justin Jefferson's week because he needs somebody that and Carson will throw you some interceptions, but he will also throw some touchdowns. Mike: I thought Jamal was gonna ask you I thought I thought he was gonna ask you if he should go at Rory Jamal Smith: Wow. Okay. He will. All right. I'll take that into consideration. paul: So I think I think that's my segment, boys. Thank you for allowing me to, you know, talk my stuff, man. I appreciate you. Mike: Nice. Well, with that we'll give him his other Risi: Fantasy ball with Paul. Mike: Since he hasn't heard them. paul: Yeah. Man, brought a tear to my eyes. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Mike: Yeah. I thought I I thought I thought Jamal was gonna ask you if he should start Riley Ray or where's Skyler May in his I I was a little nervous. I was like, where's he gonna go? I was like where's paul: I wouldn't know. I would know. I know I went ran through that really, really fast 'cause I had a lot to get in, but now we are on track and on when on Thursdays you will get my starts of the week and they will be documented. So let's go. We're gonna have a good year. Yes, sir. Mike: You're good. Jamal Smith: Love it. Mike: You you got you got it in. Jamal Smith: Love this. Mike: All right, Jamal, you're gonna take us around the NFL tonight. ⁓ we're gonna talk about two quick stories we picked out. one's really I mean, they're both important to us, but one is more important to ⁓ us as Birds fans than the other. But go for it, sir. Jamal Smith: Indeed. I'll I'll start with the lesser important story. Chicago. It's hard to ignore what they did this week. they completely exploded on the scene. Fifty-nine points against Carolina. I I don't know if Carolina is a team or not, but it doesn't matter. When you score that many points on another team in the NFL, you're clearly doing something right. what came to mind immediately is did Caleb Williams the next step? Is he the next? Is he is he the next guy to take pick up the mantle as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL? is the Bears offense for real, or is this just kind of a fluke? just some shit that happens in the first ⁓ week defenses are tired. Mike: There there's no way this is sustainable. I said earlier when we got on the call, this is like the year that the Miami Dolphins scored seventy two points and everybody was like, ⁓ my god, they scored seventy two points and then they didn't even make the playoffs. good is Carolina? Like, that's the other question. Like, aren't they on another new coach and a new quarterback? Like they they they Yeah, dude, they haven't been good since Cam Newton. Risi: It's Carolina. Mike: We'll see. Let's see what happens. Who are they playing who are they playing this week? Risi: But they play us in two weeks, right? paul: I know who that I know who they have in two weeks, those birds. Risi: Yeah. That's the real test. That is gonna be a really good test. I I'm not a believer in the in in them, but you know, I just ⁓ week one. Jamal Smith: ⁓ yeah. Mike: Yeah, we got a prime time game. paul: So did you guys know that their that their head coach sorry Chris that their head coach said that he wants to break the scoring record this year? Mike: ⁓ really? Jamal Smith: Ben Johnson. Fuck that guy. paul: He wants to break the scoring record and they are off to a great start. Mike: Okay. Well, they're playing the Vikings this week at one o'clock. Risi: That's a pretty cool goal. Yeah. Hold on, did he say that before the season started? ⁓ okay. That's hey, that's pretty cool. I mean good for them on that then. That's put that's putting your money where your mouth is. paul: Yes he did. Yes he did. Mike: I I feel like that I I feel like that yeah, I agree, but I feel like that is some bulletin board material that you just gave to every other team. Like well paul: He's embracing it, but Minnesota will be a tougher test for them next week. Mike: Yeah, absolutely then Carolina. Even with Carson Wentzon. and l Risi: Any other game will be it a free team. paul: Although the game is in Chicago, just just just to put that out there. Mike: Like g come on, like yeah the team is literally leaving Chicago. The team It's done. They're going for yeah, it's going in Indiana. Risi: Yeah, I was gonna ask about that. Is is I heard it's like forty five minutes away, right? Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha paul: Yeah, they're going to Indiana, which is that's a shame for those fans. Those fans are they're they're loyal fans. They're good fans. Jamal Smith: Wow. Mike: Exactly. Exactly. They're really good fans and you're gonna like just like because the mayor's an idiot, like, ⁓ dude, that's that's crazy. Jamal Smith: It's heartbreaking. Yeah. Risi: ⁓ that's amazing. It's forty it's like forty five minutes away, right? Mike: Yeah, yeah. It's it's it's nother state. That'd be like the Cubs leaving. ⁓ paul: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah, it's crazy. It doesn't make any sense. It doesn't feel right. ⁓ I mean I I will say, don't doubt it as much as some of you guys do. ⁓ well, mainly because of what they did last year. It feels like a natural step to where they are now. ⁓ showed Flash last year and they looked impressive. I mean, they manhandled us. That game. ⁓ it was embarrassing. Embarrassing. ⁓ Mike: No. Really? paul: They mollywapped us, mollywapped us in our own on our own field, on our own field. Risi: Yeah. Yeah, they did. Mike: We are missing one key element to this though. Caleb Williams is the Madden cover kid. ⁓ don't it happens look, Saquon was the cover last year and he had a drop in performance. paul: Talk to me. I don't wanna Jamal Smith: that ain't good for him. Ooh. Risi: Yeah. Jamal Smith: He did. Was a Madden curse is real? Mike: It's legit, it's real. He didn't get I mean, d he didn't get hurt last year, but his performance suffered. paul: Absolutely did. Yes, he is. Madden this year. Yes, he is. Which is which is why I almost didn't draw ⁓ draft him. Because he he was he was fire. He was listen now. Caleb is a great young quarterback, man. Risi: Well, Caleb Womans is the cover of of ⁓ Madden this year? Mike: Madden. Yep. Yep, yep, yep. Risi: Why? Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha ha. They they had a season last year too, man. They look good. They really did look good last season. I I as defenses start to wake up and start being less gassed, they're not gonna be able to put up the Risi: Hell it's Mike: Once they get into like pla like into season conditioning, since we know they're not yet for some reason. yeah. We'll see. I mean ⁓ gonna watch it this weekend. I'm gonna pay attention to that. I mean, well I'm gonna have that on on my second T V if I can to see what's going on with it. Jamal Smith: Yeah. paul: Jamal, that was your biggest takeaway from this this past weekend around the league? Jamal Smith: Yeah. ⁓ No, I wish it was. my biggest takeaway, and and I gotta be honest, it makes me very uncomfortable. that Sunday night game, Giants versus Dallas. ⁓ score is 28-20. I don't feel like this score really tells the true story of what happened in that game in any the question really does have to be like, are the Giants for real? are the Giants Mike: ⁓ yeah. paul: Mm. Mike: No, not at all. Jamal Smith: For real. Their their running game looks strong. Jackson Dart was on ⁓ he's got some new he's got some new toys to play with. And he ⁓ was shy about engaging them immediately. the defense was the defense. It wasn't anything crazy, but it was good enough, especially with an offense that appeared to be as potent as it was, and Scatterboo that fucking special needs dude just runs hard as fuck and tries to crush everyone. I hate it and I love it. paul: He did another backflip. He did another backflip after his touchdown. Jamal Smith: He did another backflip. I ha I have to respect it 'cause I love a running back like that, but he he he's paul: Yeah, he's cuckoo for Coco, man. Mike: Dude, the new the look even fucking crazier. Like I was just like, this guy is like two crayons short a Crayola box, like for sure. hold on. I wanna I just pulled up the the stats from that game. Dak Prescott was twenty two for thirty four, a hundred and seventy five yards, two touchdowns and an interception. And my gut tells me, 'cause I didn't watch the whole thing 'cause it did fall asleep, is that the majority of those yards probably came in the fourth quarter like usual. paul: Yeah. Mike: huge. Jamal Smith: ⁓ yeah. totally. He's Mr. Garbage Time. Risi: Yeah. Mike: CeeDee Lamb five for forty-four. Williams, five for thirty-one. Pickens three for twenty-eight. Risi: surprised on that game. I I thought Dallas was gonna be better than that. Mike: I think everybody was. paul: Yeah. Chris, I'm with you. Mike: Yeah, that that's that's just Risi: Giants are they look good though. Like I watched probably three quarters of the game. It was good. paul: You guys, maybe maybe the NFC East is better than we thought. Now, listen, this is overreaction week one. I get it. But the commanders played us tough. But they always usually do. And the Harbaugh effect in New York could be something. You guys, we all know he is a legitimate head coach. And he is bringing toughness to that team. Jamal Smith: ⁓ yeah. Mike: Yeah. I think that's gonna be legit. I do I said that last week. Jamal Smith: Yeah. He is. paul: And if that's the case, it's gonna be interesting to see what happens moving forward. Mike: The Giants have the Rams this week, Monday night football, and then the four twenty five game on Sunday is Washington and Dallas. Yeah, so we got a good football. ⁓ that that's a good football Sunday for us. We got us at the one o'clock, that at the four, the eight o'clock is Indian Kansas City. I could really care less about that, honestly. And then York and the Rams on Monday. So it's gonna be a good viewing weekend. paul: Which is gonna be a goat. It is Yes. Risi: ⁓ paul: Yeah, I could care less yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah. paul: Yes it is. Jamal Smith: Well well, I I gotta ask real quick and just like a honorable mention type situation. Is the Danny Jones experiment over? Like do you think he's cooked? paul: Well, he is coming off that major injury last year. So I think it might take him a little while to get back. I didn't even see how they did 'cause I was at the game. How how did the Colts he didn't do that well? ⁓ okay. Mike: Injury, yeah. Jamal Smith: He is, is, Not good. Yeah, not good. No, no. Mike: He he didn't look good at all, I heard. He's sitting on my bench in one of my leagues. All right, let's look ahead. We're traveling to Tennessee to take on the Titans Sunday at one PM. Philly is one and no after beating Washington twenty four to twenty two. Tennessee lost its opener twenty three to ten to the Jets. ⁓ so on paper, this is the game the Eagles should win. the Jets just had their win of the year. Just good. Risi: Yeah. This this game is this game will be a good test to see how our offensive line pulls it together. Like this is one of the games that like I'm putting my guard down, we're gonna we're we're gonna win this game, right? Like it it's it's them, but it's like we want to see those other pieces. To me, it's watching that ⁓ offensive line. Do they give Saquon room the run? Mike: yeah, I I I ho I hope so. I mean I and I hope we get not just Saquon ship the middle. I would like to see Saquon jump out to the sides sometimes in this game too. That'd be nice. I i if the Jets were able to run on them and scroll on them, I would hope we should see Saquon doing it as well. paul: This the kind of game I know some people like style points. I this should be a style points type of game. Like we we shouldn't be on it be a nail biter to see if they're going for two to tie the game in the fourth quarter, type of deal. This should be a thirty-four to ten game, in my opinion. The running game should get right, the O line should get right, the D line should get right because a lot of the pressures they put on Daniels, they're gonna get the although Cam Ward is fast, but you know, Risi: It eas Mike: Alright, well then with that sentence that you're throwing out there, what's the one thing we should be able to exploit? Against them? paul: Mm-hmm. Ooh. The run game. Mike: We should be able to get our run game going against them. paul: I would imagine, yes. Risi: We sh we should be able to exploit what we want to exploit. Like as in whatever we come into the game plan with and focus on what we should do. S we should Yeah. Mike: Yeah, like We should be able achieve paul: Now Chris, I like how you think there, 'cause you're absolute I I agree with you on that. I agree with you. Risi: Yeah, we should have our way. Jamal Smith: I don't know I don't know about you guys, but if there was anything that was the biggest disappointment for me last week, it w it would have been the defense. And again, I get it. They haven't really played together and you get gassed out because it's the first game, but that is what I'm focusing on. want to see some semblance of the same kind of defense that we had last year. Cause, you know, we we looked a little soft last week. ⁓ yeah. Mike: We have one sack, right? That was it. Jamal Smith: And Jaden Daniels is very elusive and we were in there quite a few times. But just overall, between the not getting to the quarterback and, you know, some of our more exp like our more talented players just getting taken, want to see this defense come back ⁓ make it uncomfortable for the Tennessee Titans. Like they need to make them feel like the bottom of the barrel that they actually are. That's that's what I'm looking for. paul: He is. Mike: Yeah, I I want four quarters out of them. I want a full game out of them. Not a collapse in the fourth like they do I I mean, I don't want to say they completely collapsed this week, but I d I don't want to get thirteen points put up on this unanswered. Cam Ward is quick. I agree with you there, Paul. I he's but I don't think he's as elusive or as I don't want I don't know if the word smart, but football savvy as Daniels is, where Daniels I is a little bit more of a worry for me when it runs out of the pocket because he has I he has more options than just running. I don't know if Cam Ward is anything besides just running. especially the way the Jets beat up on them. Like that is like that's kinda the Jets aren't good. The Jets. I don't Chris, what's making you nervous about the same? About what would make you nervous about picking the Eagles to win? Let's put it that way. Risi: ⁓ it's the NFL, so any any given Sunday. But like if I had to say what would make me nervous, how we could lose this game. Mike: Yep. Risi: I could bet my house on this game. Like, I'm chilling with you. Like, if I had to this is such a lock. what would make me nervous would be I think it would be Cam being elusive and exploiting our secondary. Like somehow, some which way, our our defensive line, it's a shoot turns into a shootout and and we lose the shootout. That would be truly the the the one fear that could happen. Very slim chance Mike: Paul, do we see Hollywood Brown? paul: It's a good question. him or Elijah Moore, right? Mike: Yeah. Is that the other ⁓ Elijah Moore? paul: Is that who we got? We got one other receiver. But listen, to answer your question, Mike, the one thing that scares me is us overlooking this team because we have Chicago next week. Mike: Yeah. When Chris started to talk, I got in the back of my head, I like, Man, why does this feel like a trap game? Like just one of those games that we should totally win, but like, we fuck it up. Jamal Smith: Ha ha. paul: That's the only thing that would worry me 'cause they know what's coming next week. Mike: That especially if when w what's he's playing at one o'clock, so they're not gonna know what's going on with them. They Chicago does. But knowing what Chicago did last week, knowing that they want to be the screwing title champions, yeah, d do they get caught in that trap? That's a good point. paul: Well, one saving grace is Eagles fans will be swarming Tennessee. It be like a home game next week. Mike: Yeah, there's a lot of people going there. paul: So the fans will let ⁓ know if they don't come correct. Risi: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah, they will. Mike: All right, let's do some official predictions. I know we did our other we'll go we'll be f we'll end with what we picked last week for our our wins and losses, and then we'll but we'll let's talk about this week right now.
