- 0:03Speaker 1: Scable advice Shoot, welcome to the naughtyven night. Shall I'm
- 0:12Speaker 1: your heastro shooter or it's Monday, which means that dear
- 0:15Speaker 1: friend Garrett Vogel joins us, Hey, Garrett, are you there?
- 0:18Speaker 1: Good morning, rob Shooter. You made me smile. I don't
- 0:23Speaker 1: sure if it sounds like you're calling me a neighbor.
- 0:25Speaker 1: You're happy to see me, but I take to tact
- 0:28Speaker 1: a little sarcasm in your voice. Well, no, I'm I
- 0:31Speaker 1: know you've been super busy covering the Queen in her
- 0:35Speaker 1: life everything surrounding it. I was thinking over the weekend,
- 0:40Speaker 1: as I normally do, think of you. How many times
- 0:44Speaker 1: if you were the ballpark, like, just estimate you said
- 0:47Speaker 1: the words the Queen over the last week. Wow, that's
- 0:52Speaker 1: a great question. I bet over a thousands. So for
- 0:54Speaker 1: new listeners, level level low. I'm a royal expert as
- 0:57Speaker 1: well as a gossip expert. I know this royal stuff, Garrett,
- 1:01Speaker 1: because all those people, most of those people, a lot
- 1:03Speaker 1: of those people working in the palace, I actually went
- 1:05Speaker 1: to school. So if you get a job in your blood,
- 1:08Speaker 1: if you get a job in booking a palace, it's
- 1:10Speaker 1: a job for life. A lot of people that I
- 1:13Speaker 1: know working in the palace, and it's a great place
- 1:16Speaker 1: to get gossip from Garrett because ever working at the palace, No,
- 1:20Speaker 1: I didn't because I would get fired because I think
- 1:22Speaker 1: I'm the Queen what. I know that obviously. But was
- 1:26Speaker 1: there ever a chance, like an opportunity or a thought
- 1:28Speaker 1: in your life early on, before you decided to come
- 1:31Speaker 1: to America and grace us with your presence that you
- 1:34Speaker 1: could have been in the poace. I did dream when
- 1:38Speaker 1: I was little I could marry a prince, and I
- 1:39Speaker 1: think I did an American one, though No, I don't
- 1:42Speaker 1: think I ever I ever thought about that. My trajectory
- 1:45Speaker 1: as a child is I wanted to be in the
- 1:47Speaker 1: houses of Parliament. I wanted to be a politician. I know,
- 1:50Speaker 1: we don't talk about politics. You're a wig. I would
- 1:52Speaker 1: die to see that. That's call the Tuesday right here.
- 1:55Speaker 1: What was your trajectory as a little boy? What did
- 1:57Speaker 1: you want to do? Oh? I was I was going
- 2:00Speaker 1: to be playing basketball. Madison Square Garden was your dream? Yeah,
- 2:04Speaker 1: that was that was the dream. Well, if you ever
- 2:06Speaker 1: want to come to my apartment, which is quite close
- 2:08Speaker 1: to Madison Square Garden and shoot some balls, that sounds terrible,
- 2:13Speaker 1: but you know you are welcome to let's get in.
- 2:15Speaker 1: The show sends we've got in trouble, We've got hey,
- 2:18Speaker 1: what time is it, my friends? It's time talking about
- 2:21Speaker 1: the royals. Big story at the top of the show,
- 2:23Speaker 1: Megan Markel apparently complained that she wasn't getting paid on
- 2:27Speaker 1: a two thousand eighteen royal to us, there's lots of
- 2:30Speaker 1: new books that so you're gonna hear a lot of
- 2:32Speaker 1: Megan markels stories over the next couple of days. One
- 2:35Speaker 1: is by Valentine Low, who's a great writer and certainly
- 2:39Speaker 1: knows this subject. So Valentine is claiming that Megan really
- 2:43Speaker 1: didn't enjoy royal duties, not all of them, and even
- 2:46Speaker 1: once complained that she should have gotten paid to be
- 2:50Speaker 1: on the two thousand and eight Australian tour. So they said, quote,
- 2:55Speaker 1: although she enjoys the attention, who doesn't. Megan failed to
- 2:59Speaker 1: understand the polits of all these walkabouts. That's when you
- 3:02Speaker 1: go out and shake hands with strangers and you say hello.
- 3:05Speaker 1: She just didn't understand the point of that. So, according
- 3:08Speaker 1: to several members of staff, this is not just one source.
- 3:11Speaker 1: At several they heard her on at least one occasion
- 3:14Speaker 1: saying quote, I cannot believe I'm not getting paid for this. Wow,
- 3:21Speaker 1: what do you think? I think it's unfair. First off,
- 3:26Speaker 1: you and I just as they call commoners, imagine being
- 3:31Speaker 1: thrown into that lifestyle of not understanding protocol and this
- 3:35Speaker 1: and that. Yes, you have to learn, but day one
- 3:39Speaker 1: you would think like, hey, is this is this a
- 3:42Speaker 1: page job? Like it's a it's a common question that
- 3:45Speaker 1: a normal person would ask. And then on the second
- 3:49Speaker 1: part of it, just as I started the show, and
- 3:50Speaker 1: you're like, I hint the head of sarcasm. You're telling
- 3:53Speaker 1: me no one in the Royal Royal atmosphere can can
- 3:57Speaker 1: sense any type of sarcasm because to me, when she goes,
- 4:01Speaker 1: we're not getting paid for like, oh, that's interesting. I
- 4:05Speaker 1: think you're onto something here. It's very easy to just
- 4:08Speaker 1: bash Megan, and these books are about to do that.
- 4:10Speaker 1: So if you like Megan, don't look at the the
- 4:13Speaker 1: gossip sites for a while because all the details from
- 4:16Speaker 1: these books are being leaked. But I think you're right.
- 4:18Speaker 1: She could have said it as a joke. Plus, I
- 4:20Speaker 1: do think a little is on the palace here. It's
- 4:23Speaker 1: not just a family, it's a job, And whenever you
- 4:26Speaker 1: start a new job, someone should sit you dan and
- 4:28Speaker 1: tell you about the job. Nobody did it to Diana,
- 4:32Speaker 1: Nobody did it to Megan, nobody did it to Kate.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Kate adapted really quickly and very well. But a lot
- 4:37Speaker 1: of people when they start a new job, I want
- 4:39Speaker 1: to know where other bathrooms do I beve early on
- 4:43Speaker 1: fright here? Like am I allowed to bring my dog? Like?
- 4:46Speaker 1: I want to know what times a lot? You know,
- 4:50Speaker 1: when do we get paid? Is it every two weeks?
- 4:52Speaker 1: Every three? I want to know that? And so nobody
- 4:54Speaker 1: actually explained. Part of that is on Harry too, because
- 4:57Speaker 1: Harry is the one that married Megan. Harry is the
- 5:00Speaker 1: that brought her into the family, so to speak. So
- 5:02Speaker 1: Harry should have sat down and said, listen, before you
- 5:04Speaker 1: marry me, you've gotta know it's not just me. It's
- 5:07Speaker 1: a job. Now it looks like an incredible job, but
- 5:10Speaker 1: there's also some bad parts too. It's like your job,
- 5:13Speaker 1: garretts Garrett. So the outside world it looks fabulous. It
- 5:16Speaker 1: looks like it's free tickets to justin Biba. Right. No, Well,
- 5:19Speaker 1: I think that's that that could be applied to everywhere
- 5:21Speaker 1: in life. You know like everyone, just like Instagram, Instagram,
- 5:25Speaker 1: you put your best foot forward, you know, out there
- 5:27Speaker 1: and you know and and so you make it as
- 5:31Speaker 1: seamlessly as possible. We all know there. It's Evan flow.
- 5:34Speaker 1: It's like writing a roller coaster. No matter where you work,
- 5:37Speaker 1: it's it's the ups right. So so as much as
- 5:42Speaker 1: you know, I understand it, and you know what, I
- 5:45Speaker 1: want to put a challenge out there too. And Rob Shooter,
- 5:47Speaker 1: you've read a book as well, not about Megan Marco,
- 5:50Speaker 1: but there's so many negative books. It's so easy to
- 5:53Speaker 1: write the negative. It's easy to leave a negative comment
- 5:57Speaker 1: on this podcast. To leave a hard positive is much harder.
- 6:01Speaker 1: I've got to say that once and I say, do
- 6:03Speaker 1: the same thing for for Megan Markel right upon positive. Yeah,
- 6:07Speaker 1: trying to. I remember once in my PR days, I
- 6:09Speaker 1: said a charity shoot with Tyra Banks and it was
- 6:12Speaker 1: on a Sunday, and everybody there was getting paid apart
- 6:15Speaker 1: from Tyra, and Tyra had been asked to donate her
- 6:18Speaker 1: time to the charity. But everybody else, the cameraman, the
- 6:21Speaker 1: lighting guy, the publicist, we were all getting paid. The
- 6:25Speaker 1: driver got paid. Don't when you do something for charity
- 6:29Speaker 1: and like in that instance, Like normally you'd think I'm
- 6:33Speaker 1: getting I'm getting paid for something. I wouldn't take money
- 6:35Speaker 1: for charity. But I've gotta say Tyra turned around and
- 6:37Speaker 1: said to me, I'm the only one here not being
- 6:40Speaker 1: paid now while she being sarcastic, maybe, but she also
- 6:43Speaker 1: was telling the truth. So it is tricky here. They
- 6:46Speaker 1: have to explain how you get paid. It is a job.
- 6:49Speaker 1: It is a job. And nobody explained this to Megan,
- 6:53Speaker 1: which brings us to our pool question of the day.
- 6:55Speaker 1: So Megan Local reportedly complained a lot about not getting
- 7:00Speaker 1: paid during a royal tour. Should she have been petti?
- 7:04Speaker 1: That's that's the most obvious question here. Should she have
- 7:07Speaker 1: been paid to go on royal to as some would
- 7:10Speaker 1: say in directly, she's already been paid, But does she
- 7:13Speaker 1: get a bonus? Then? Do you get a bonus if
- 7:15Speaker 1: you go on tour? We've all had to travel for work, Garrett,
- 7:18Speaker 1: and we all get a little bit of a bonus
- 7:20Speaker 1: or a pre diem hopefully. So go vote on our
- 7:23Speaker 1: Twitter page at Naughty Nice rob facebook page Naughty Gossip
- 7:28Speaker 1: and the Sewer to check back tomorrow. It's gonna be
- 7:30Speaker 1: interesting direct to see if people can put their feelings
- 7:33Speaker 1: towards Megan to one side for a minute and say,
- 7:36Speaker 1: if you do extra work, do you get extra pay?
- 7:39Speaker 1: I think so too, and the other thing too. I
- 7:41Speaker 1: might as well ask you while I have you. Like,
- 7:42Speaker 1: we know William inherited like a billion dollars over the
- 7:45Speaker 1: last week. What did Harry inherit? They did not. Harry
- 7:49Speaker 1: did not inherit money anything the queen. Nothing, no, nothing
- 7:55Speaker 1: from the queen. So maybe Megan, Megan has a point,
- 7:58Speaker 1: Maybe I should be paid. It's hard to say that
- 8:01Speaker 1: when you live in the palace. So it's just it's complicated.
- 8:04Speaker 1: It's like, we pay your rent. You don't have to
- 8:06Speaker 1: worry about. Living next to Oprah is like living in
- 8:09Speaker 1: living next to Oh can you imagine? Hey, what are
- 8:11Speaker 1: you working up? My friends? All right, let's talk about
- 8:13Speaker 1: Chloe Kardashian. As we know, they had their second baby together,
- 8:17Speaker 1: and people are given Chloe some hard time for pretty
- 8:21Speaker 1: much just you know, sitting in the bed after the
- 8:24Speaker 1: baby was born and Tristan's there, and what about the
- 8:28Speaker 1: mother that delivered the baby. People want to know, like, hey,
- 8:30Speaker 1: how come you're just acting like she didn't exist? Well,
- 8:34Speaker 1: you know, and as we were just speaking. This is
- 8:36Speaker 1: one of those things where don't jump to conclusions people.
- 8:39Speaker 1: You know, the Kardashians are very, very very smart in
- 8:42Speaker 1: the sense of the they know what they're doing. So
- 8:44Speaker 1: just like anything in life, when you're when you're pretty
- 8:47Speaker 1: much helping a baby come to life, and you're a
- 8:50Speaker 1: scu mother, you have the option. You have the option
- 8:52Speaker 1: of being a part of the life, not being a
- 8:54Speaker 1: part of the life. You know, the Kardashian sat down
- 8:57Speaker 1: with the contracts, so for all we know, they said, hey, listen,
- 9:00Speaker 1: thank you for doing your You're being paid handsomely. We
- 9:04Speaker 1: just ask you not to be a part of the photo.
- 9:06Speaker 1: And quite usual, like we do not know the Surah
- 9:09Speaker 1: gate for Andy Cohen or Anderson Cooper. So often Sura
- 9:13Speaker 1: gates want to be anonymous too. So we're asking somebody
- 9:17Speaker 1: to be part of this photograph, the birthing mother who
- 9:20Speaker 1: might not have wanted to be. So I'm always very
- 9:24Speaker 1: careful when I talk about mothers and their children. It's
- 9:28Speaker 1: not any of my business. But Twitter did explode. This
- 9:31Speaker 1: was giving them handmade tale vibes where I understand it. Yeah,
- 9:35Speaker 1: but that's not who we're comparing a TV show to
- 9:38Speaker 1: someone's real life, and then other people did defenders saying
- 9:42Speaker 1: that parents get the adjacent room when the surrogate is
- 9:46Speaker 1: giving birth and they wait in that room, and then
- 9:49Speaker 1: when the baby arrives, the baby is handed to the mom.
- 9:53Speaker 1: And Chloe was in a hospital bed, so it does
- 9:56Speaker 1: look a little bit like she is exhausted and just
- 9:59Speaker 1: birth that baby. Do you remember I used to work
- 10:01Speaker 1: for him, so I can talk about it, remembering did
- 10:03Speaker 1: he was on the cover of a k magazine after
- 10:05Speaker 1: he had the twins and he was just did he
- 10:07Speaker 1: the two twins? It looked like did he had given birth?
- 10:11Speaker 1: Well again too, It's it's all in the eye of
- 10:14Speaker 1: the beholder, you know what I mean? Like you see that,
- 10:16Speaker 1: like if you've ever been to a hospital, you know,
- 10:18Speaker 1: outside of the beds being probably the most comfortable thing,
- 10:21Speaker 1: right for so because you're in a hospital, there's just
- 10:24Speaker 1: awkward chairs. You know, why would you want to sit
- 10:28Speaker 1: in an awkward chair when you want to like make
- 10:31Speaker 1: the easiest, fluffiest. Even if I was a guest, I
- 10:35Speaker 1: would went Bruce was in hospital, He's fine, This is
- 10:37Speaker 1: a long time. We get a couple of us get
- 10:38Speaker 1: just a little procedure when they took him into the
- 10:42Speaker 1: room the surgery. I got him the best. I'm just
- 10:45Speaker 1: so comfortable, honey, move over. He just left it. That's
- 10:49Speaker 1: a warm. He was going to be gone at least
- 10:50Speaker 1: an hour, maybe an hour and a half. So I
- 10:52Speaker 1: got in the bed. I was loved that to wake
- 10:54Speaker 1: me if you hit the button? Did you hit the button?
- 10:58Speaker 1: But he came back and I haven't that als to sleep.
- 11:01Speaker 1: They were like, excuse me, So I know I'm gonna
- 11:03Speaker 1: cut some Chloe some slack here, Hey, move moving along.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Alfonso Ribera you know him because his back hosting Dancing
- 11:10Speaker 1: with the Stars. He did an interview which he probably
- 11:13Speaker 1: regrets that because he's on a reality show. Dancing with
- 11:16Speaker 1: the Stars is a reality show, so showing the interview,
- 11:19Speaker 1: he trashed other reality shows, saying he doesn't really like
- 11:23Speaker 1: that particularly well after The Bachelor, which is probably the
- 11:26Speaker 1: biggest reality show on aver contestant on Dancing They have
- 11:31Speaker 1: a contestant on Dands of the Stars. They have Viddy
- 11:33Speaker 1: from the Jersey Shore. But get this too, because he
- 11:35Speaker 1: had to put his other foot in his math, he
- 11:37Speaker 1: also trashed the Jersey Sure, what's going on? I thought
- 11:41Speaker 1: he was smarter than this. Well, you know what it is.
- 11:43Speaker 1: It's one of those like, you know, stories that doesn't
- 11:46Speaker 1: age well. You know, like I think we all could agree.
- 11:49Speaker 1: We all have said it at one point in time.
- 11:51Speaker 1: He said it last week. This was not ten days ago.
- 11:53Speaker 1: This was last week. He was promoting Dadsy with the Stars.
- 11:58Speaker 1: But you know, I look at it this. The host
- 12:01Speaker 1: of a reality show is different than being a contestant.
- 12:03Speaker 1: You're on the other side of it. You're not, You're not.
- 12:07Speaker 1: It's like you saying you don't like pop stars and
- 12:09Speaker 1: where you work you work at you just can't. I
- 12:13Speaker 1: don't get it. But but you know what it is
- 12:15Speaker 1: like that Maybe I'm looking at as a producer filled
- 12:19Speaker 1: you know, side of a story, like how do you
- 12:21Speaker 1: draw up the right Maybe your host hates a quarter
- 12:24Speaker 1: of your contestants hate. You hate what they do you hate?
- 12:27Speaker 1: They make them money. When I went for Jessica Simpson's,
- 12:29Speaker 1: she was getting paid money to promote Pizza Hut I
- 12:32Speaker 1: think it was a pizza company, and she announced that
- 12:34Speaker 1: she was allergic to tomatoes in the press conference that
- 12:40Speaker 1: what do you say? I said, We'll just get what's
- 12:41Speaker 1: there's white Pizza's calls it they're horrible. Yeah, that's the
- 12:44Speaker 1: white pipe. But was surrounded by like Margarita pies right rapid.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I was like, God, you need an EpiPen. That's nothing
- 12:53Speaker 1: but tomatoes around us as far as the eye can
- 12:56Speaker 1: see pizza. People say the craziest things, including Mr Kanye West.
- 13:04Speaker 1: You know, he he does, he does understand you. You know,
- 13:06Speaker 1: he he is of your people by the way. I
- 13:09Speaker 1: know we're going to talk about, you know, his daughters
- 13:11Speaker 1: in the second, but he understands the people of England
- 13:14Speaker 1: because he too has lost his queen. Is that what
- 13:16Speaker 1: he said? He said that last night, said he said,
- 13:20Speaker 1: I under I understand and I feel him of course
- 13:25Speaker 1: obviously talking about Kim Kardashian queen. I love Kim, but him,
- 13:29Speaker 1: oh Kanye, what is he doing with his daughter? What?
- 13:32Speaker 1: He's also talking about his his children too? He said, uh,
- 13:36Speaker 1: he that he told his daughter never to let anyone
- 13:39Speaker 1: take over his and Kim's brands, meaning you know, the
- 13:43Speaker 1: Easy brand, the family and you know, so it kind
- 13:46Speaker 1: of makes you think, did did North have anything to
- 13:49Speaker 1: do with the ending of the relationship with Pete and
- 13:53Speaker 1: pushed him out looking after data? You never know, children
- 13:55Speaker 1: can do that, you know, she's nine years old. She's
- 13:58Speaker 1: nine years old, so let's go gentle. Are correct, but
- 14:01Speaker 1: but it's a good thing to say to a kid.
- 14:03Speaker 1: It's a lot of pressure. Well that's the other thing too,
- 14:06Speaker 1: It's like, so, did Kanye have an influence because at
- 14:08Speaker 1: the end of the day, dad does have an over
- 14:10Speaker 1: over the kids, no matter what. My sister Christie, and
- 14:15Speaker 1: if you're listening, her daughter Paris, who was about nine,
- 14:19Speaker 1: she pushed out one of Christine's husband's boyfriends. You didn't
- 14:24Speaker 1: like him, and so she pushed him out. Slowly, you
- 14:26Speaker 1: can get in someone's here, this thing about looking after
- 14:29Speaker 1: their brand. Though they both have a brand. I think
- 14:30Speaker 1: it's a billion dollar brand they both have. The brand
- 14:33Speaker 1: is going to be just fine. The brand is going
- 14:35Speaker 1: to be just fine. Hey, quickly, before we got to break,
- 14:38Speaker 1: Sharon Osborne is talking out, saying the Talk CBS tried
- 14:41Speaker 1: to destroy her credibility in America. She's still really angry
- 14:45Speaker 1: about the nothing to do about being friends with that
- 14:49Speaker 1: doesn't destroy your credibility at all, Sharon. So she got
- 14:52Speaker 1: kicked off the of the of the Talk for defending
- 14:55Speaker 1: her friend Piers Morgan, who attacked Megan marcole I know
- 14:58Speaker 1: it's convoluted, but she's said, let the truth be told.
- 15:01Speaker 1: That destroyed my credibility in America. She's scoffed at reports
- 15:05Speaker 1: that she got a major pay app remember some people
- 15:07Speaker 1: we were not. Some people reported she got sixty million dollars.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Absolutely not true. She got nothing to leave. And she
- 15:13Speaker 1: was asked about her relationship with Underwood on the show
- 15:16Speaker 1: I Like Her and if they could ever be friends again.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Sharon said no, never ever. That that that that is
- 15:24Speaker 1: like when when someone's like, like, hey, is there any
- 15:26Speaker 1: possibility and you think, you know, hey, maybe it's a
- 15:29Speaker 1: bit when you just say no, never, I sorry, neverver
- 15:33Speaker 1: ever ever, never ever ever. Hey, let's take a quick
- 15:36Speaker 1: break and we will be right back. Welcome back to
- 15:40Speaker 1: the naughty but nice Garrett. I do enjoy my Mondays
- 15:43Speaker 1: with you. You make me smile. I know, were so
- 15:46Speaker 1: different to each other. How did we find love? Well
- 15:50Speaker 1: in a hopeless place like Rihanna, we are just doing
- 15:54Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. Oh that's right, yes, that what do
- 15:59Speaker 1: you think? Well, you know, I think you'll have nothing
- 16:02Speaker 1: but hits and uh, the opportunity to to have a
- 16:06Speaker 1: lot of collaborations like they did last year, and the
- 16:10Speaker 1: interesting story though, was that Pepsi uh gave up the
- 16:14Speaker 1: sponsorship opportunity to be the title sponsor of the Super
- 16:18Speaker 1: Bowl halftime show. It's always been the Pepsis long as
- 16:20Speaker 1: I can remember. A lot of money, as we all know.
- 16:22Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, Pepsi said, we
- 16:24Speaker 1: don't know anymore. So Apple Music jumped in. So what
- 16:27Speaker 1: Apple Music did was, Hey, let's go to tell Or Swift,
- 16:30Speaker 1: because everybody's been vying to try to get tell her name.
- 16:34Speaker 1: She was signed to Coke and Pepsi was the spill
- 16:37Speaker 1: halftime shows. So they're like, tell Or Swift. Telor Swift
