- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, Welcome to the Inside the Birds postgame show. I'm
- 0:13Speaker 1: Jeff Moser. That's Adam Kaplan And maybe you, like us,
- 0:17Speaker 1: can't believe it, but for the second straight game we're
- 0:20Speaker 1: talking about an Eagle's loss. They lose to the Chicago
- 0:25Speaker 1: Bears Black Friday, twenty four to fifteen at the Link
- 0:28Speaker 1: and Adam, I think there was a real telltale part
- 0:32Speaker 1: of the third quarter if you were watching the game
- 0:34Speaker 1: at home. The Eagles had another three and out and
- 0:37Speaker 1: Al Michael simply said, and if you want to hear
- 0:40Speaker 1: what it sounds like, here you go. And they were
- 0:42Speaker 1: both quiet, and all you heard was the cascading of
- 0:46Speaker 1: booze at the Link and Adam I didn't think, honestly,
- 0:50Speaker 1: we got questions about this going into the year, about
- 0:53Speaker 1: if things go bad, to this be like twenty twenty
- 0:55Speaker 1: three all over again, and we didn't think it could.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I didn't, but it has that feel at this right now.
- 1:00Speaker 2: It does. I told people to simmer down a little bit,
- 1:03Speaker 2: let's give it some time. I'm with you, guys now,
- 1:06Speaker 2: I'm way with a twenty three flave because you know,
- 1:10Speaker 2: fans that gloom and doom, they could they could say
- 1:12Speaker 2: it after two weeks. I mean, this is just the
- 1:13Speaker 2: way it is and Eagles fandom. But you guys, hey,
- 1:17Speaker 2: I'm with you, man, I've thrown the white talent. I'm like, like,
- 1:20Speaker 2: this is They're only a game and a half up
- 1:22Speaker 2: over Dallas. How's that even possible? And by the way,
- 1:25Speaker 2: this is the first game all season that they never
- 1:27Speaker 2: led even that Giants terrible game. The second game they
- 1:30Speaker 2: actually were up three to nothing. Yeah, not good. Not
- 1:34Speaker 2: good yet this has been good.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yeah, this was a game of a couple of first
- 1:38Speaker 1: It's the first time since two thousand and five that
- 1:42Speaker 1: a team had multiple one hundred yard rushers against the Eagles.
- 1:47Speaker 1: The last team to do it was the Broncos when
- 1:50Speaker 1: it was I think Orlandis Gary and Mike Anderson, if
- 1:53Speaker 1: I'm not mistaken, both went for over one hundred again
- 1:57Speaker 1: in two thousand and five. Right, So, it's been a
- 2:00Speaker 1: long time, and we have probably for what ten eleven,
- 2:04Speaker 1: twelve weeks now, we've talked about the offense, the offensive line,
- 2:08Speaker 1: the issues that the offensive line issues are having on
- 2:12Speaker 1: the offense till we're blue in the face. I cannot
- 2:15Speaker 1: sit here and give the same kind of defense or
- 2:19Speaker 1: excuse about injuries or aching or this about why this
- 2:23Speaker 1: defensive line is suddenly Swiss cheese. Wow, can't figure it out,
- 2:28Speaker 1: cannot don't know why, but it's not good.
- 2:31Speaker 2: By the way, was Mike Anderson and and Tatum Bell
- 2:35Speaker 2: Tatum Tatum Bell. That's right, yeah, yeah Bell at one
- 2:37Speaker 2: oh seven Mike Anderson had won twenty six on thirty
- 2:40Speaker 2: five Carris combined. All right, all right, So the d
- 2:43Speaker 2: line got gash And here's what happened. They got gash
- 2:46Speaker 2: from misdirection. And it was almost and we know Clinhart's
- 2:49Speaker 2: a really good coach, that fanju is, but it's it's
- 2:51Speaker 2: like they had no answers. And you notice now we don't.
- 2:54Speaker 2: The Eagles did not list anyone in game with an injury.
- 2:58Speaker 2: We'll see what the early injury report has. We'll look
- 3:00Speaker 2: into it. But Carter got subbed a lot o Joemo.
- 3:03Speaker 2: He didn't get bench, He just got subbed Byron Young
- 3:05Speaker 2: started the second half of Jomo struggled. We knew this
- 3:08Speaker 2: at times would be a struggle for him against the run,
- 3:10Speaker 2: despite how many great quality rushes he's had this season.
- 3:13Speaker 2: They got gashed. David sometimes got stood up. He would
- 3:16Speaker 2: made one splash play against the run. They were horrendous misdirection.
- 3:20Speaker 2: They went They ran the wine back play, which is
- 3:23Speaker 2: the which is the old Sean Payton Pierre Thomas one
- 3:26Speaker 2: where they it's a toss and he goes right and
- 3:29Speaker 2: he cuts left. They got dashed and it's remarkable on misdirection. Also,
- 3:36Speaker 2: Kyle Manungai up the middle, what the hell? It was unbelievable.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I didn't feel like that's four hundred yards. It's crazy.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Yes, yes, like listen, I expected the Bears to come
- 3:48Speaker 1: into this game and be able to have some good
- 3:51Speaker 1: running games because the Bears. I don't know if people
- 3:53Speaker 1: have been paying attention to the Bears, but you know,
- 3:56Speaker 1: not only are like the nine to three and now
- 3:58Speaker 1: the number two seed in the NFC playoffs if the
- 4:00Speaker 1: season were to end today, ahead of the Eagles, but
- 4:02Speaker 1: they are the most explosive rushing offense in the league.
- 4:06Speaker 1: And you've seen DeAndre Swift before with the Eagles. If
- 4:09Speaker 1: you didn't know who Kyle Manangai from Rutgers was, well,
- 4:12Speaker 1: Seimo knew because inside the bars Andrew Deschko did a
- 4:15Speaker 1: great job in the off season saying this is a
- 4:17Speaker 1: guy to watch. But either way, if you weren't sure,
- 4:19Speaker 1: these are two good running backs. So I expected the
- 4:21Speaker 1: Bears to come in on a windy day and try
- 4:24Speaker 1: to hide the quarterback throws because it was tough to
- 4:27Speaker 1: throw the ball and run the ball. But so when
- 4:29Speaker 1: you talk about the elements of run that they design,
- 4:34Speaker 1: you know Ben Johnson with the counters, the misdirection, they use,
- 4:38Speaker 1: multiple tight ends, they put them in motion, you know,
- 4:40Speaker 1: all the stuff that Eagles never do. I expected that
- 4:43Speaker 1: to have a little bit of success. I did not
- 4:45Speaker 1: think against this Eagle's defensive front you were going to
- 4:49Speaker 1: see multiple runs of fifteen, twenty, thirty, and forty yards.
- 4:54Speaker 1: It's one thing when a team does what it does
- 4:56Speaker 1: well to do it, but it's another thing when you
- 4:58Speaker 1: allow that is the biggest letdown, the explosive, explosive runs.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I know the Bears are number one in the NFL,
- 5:06Speaker 1: but if you're the Eagles, you have that pride, you're
- 5:08Speaker 1: at home, you're trying to, you know, add another win.
- 5:11Speaker 1: You can't let that happen after you did it against
- 5:13Speaker 1: the Cowboys just five nights before that. That's inexcusable to me.
- 5:17Speaker 1: But Adam, is it a sign that it's not just
- 5:20Speaker 1: maybe this defensive front just isn't that good? And nobody
- 5:23Speaker 1: truly tried to test them in the first ten weeks
- 5:25Speaker 1: with that kind of a run game.
- 5:27Speaker 2: It was just, you know, it's funny when you say tests,
- 5:29Speaker 2: it's like you try to run, you see if you
- 5:32Speaker 2: have success. Yeah, well, I'm still through the ball thirty
- 5:34Speaker 2: six times, which is surprising. Which was the win was bad.
- 5:38Speaker 2: The win was not make excuse for either quarterback. But
- 5:41Speaker 2: you could see the ball sail. I mean, it really selled.
- 5:45Speaker 2: And it's funny. You know, I did pick the Bears
- 5:46Speaker 2: twenty seventeen. It almost got the score exactly right. I mean,
- 5:49Speaker 2: what was the score twenty.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I was off twenty four nineteen right, twenty four
- 5:53Speaker 1: to fifteen, I'm sorry twenty for fifteen yeah, but.
- 5:55Speaker 2: In terms of total points. But I started to buy
- 5:59Speaker 2: what the fans were saying recently about the vibes the
- 6:01Speaker 2: Dallas game. Terrible choke. I know they're in a show week.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Sometimes it helps the club, but it opened some wounds up.
- 6:08Speaker 2: But the thing is you said earlier, you can't count
- 6:10Speaker 2: on a such a bit like the second half. The
- 6:15Speaker 2: Cowboys had seven runs of over five yards. I haven't
- 6:20Speaker 2: gone through the game book yet. It's they had to
- 6:22Speaker 2: easily have twenty characters over five yards. It was just
- 6:24Speaker 2: the most embarrassing thing, and that cost them the game.
- 6:27Speaker 2: We haven't even got the offense yet. We'll get to that.
- 6:30Speaker 2: We've got our own issues with it. You kind of
- 6:31Speaker 2: alluded to it about style of play and schematics, but
- 6:34Speaker 2: it was they got out coached, clearly both sides of
- 6:37Speaker 2: the football. That's not even debatable that they completely got
- 6:41Speaker 2: out coached and they got out played. I mean, this
- 6:44Speaker 2: is the first effort where you go, oh. They also again,
- 6:46Speaker 2: as they said earlier, they never led. But yet what's
- 6:50Speaker 2: crazy despite all that, the first half is horrendous. The
- 6:55Speaker 2: Bears kept trying to give them the game. I mean,
- 6:56Speaker 2: they were only down ten three and the Eagles had
- 6:58Speaker 2: the ball to start the second half. They should have
- 7:00Speaker 2: been down there. There were a couple places should have been
- 7:01Speaker 2: a touchdown. Wonder it woulday where he slipped overall what
- 7:08Speaker 2: And it's funny because Amazon, although the game with locally
- 7:10Speaker 2: was on Channel twenty nine, was brought us by Amazon.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Even in the first quarter, they were showing the fans
- 7:16Speaker 2: with the thumbs down and booing. I thought it was comical.
- 7:17Speaker 2: They're like all right, well, fans are killing them. Let's
- 7:20Speaker 2: show them. You know.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I think the big the disappointing thing
- 7:24Speaker 1: is you now had you had a list of things
- 7:26Speaker 1: to worry about the Eagles, but it wasn't very big.
- 7:29Speaker 1: It was really offensive line execution, slash health, and then
- 7:33Speaker 1: running game and then third down offense. Defensively, they've been
- 7:36Speaker 1: fined for most of the year. They did show some
- 7:38Speaker 1: elements in that first Giants game where they lost being
- 7:42Speaker 1: leaky against the run. You know, Scataboo had some big runs,
- 7:46Speaker 1: but a lot of that was dark also just kind
- 7:48Speaker 1: of maneuvering. I never really felt that they were going
- 7:50Speaker 1: to be a poor run defense after that game. I
- 7:53Speaker 1: thought they got caught off guard. And then clearly after
- 7:56Speaker 1: that they had three or four nice run defense games
- 7:59Speaker 1: in a row. So now you've taken all the three
- 8:01Speaker 1: things on offense you're worried about. You've added now run
- 8:04Speaker 1: defense being in concern and turnovers. This is turn the
- 8:08Speaker 1: ball over two times for the second straight game. This
- 8:12Speaker 1: whole process of the Eagles is We're gonna be dull offensively,
- 8:16Speaker 1: We're gonna have a good pass rush, we're gonna be
- 8:18Speaker 1: stout and we're not gonna turn the ball over. That's
- 8:20Speaker 1: going to allow us to be conservative at times or
- 8:23Speaker 1: throw the ball lest Well, now you're turning the ball over.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Now your tush push isn't even working turning the ball
- 8:28Speaker 1: over on that. So your your list going down the
- 8:32Speaker 1: stretch here is getting bigger of issues, not smaller.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's funny, Well they could feel so great
- 8:39Speaker 2: about not having fourteen penalties they cut in a half,
- 8:41Speaker 2: but some of them are timely, just really at a
- 8:44Speaker 2: bad time. Yes, it was a meltdown. It was a meltdown.
- 8:48Speaker 2: And in our Patreon halftime chat we let everybody in
- 8:52Speaker 2: on this one. It's called Dan had the best point.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I know you can't measure on coaching tape, but some lethargy.
- 8:58Speaker 2: They just didn't have any energy. They were at home
- 9:01Speaker 2: after a bad loss of Dallas. You would think they'd
- 9:02Speaker 2: be juiced up. They just they lacked a little bit
- 9:05Speaker 2: of energy on offense. But well, let's leave offense to
- 9:08Speaker 2: the side. They've got problems on defense now, Jalen Carter,
- 9:12Speaker 2: I just I don't have any answer. I don't there's
- 9:14Speaker 2: no way to know what's wrong with them. They just
- 9:16Speaker 2: the whole line was terrible. Just yeah, hard to believe that.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I understand. The Bears are totally revamped, their start, their interior,
- 9:25Speaker 2: their offensive lines completely brand new. Two trades and the
- 9:28Speaker 2: center Domen came out from Atlanta, but it just it's
- 9:31Speaker 2: hard to believe. Mostly it was Gash that the holes
- 9:34Speaker 2: were there, but then there were some, there were some
- 9:37Speaker 2: where the mistackles. I was because it's funny. As I
- 9:40Speaker 2: was charting it, Gash, Gash, Gash, gown, I'm like, wow,
- 9:43Speaker 2: I actually had none to do with miss tackles. They
- 9:45Speaker 2: were just weren't even in the play. Then the miss
- 9:47Speaker 2: tackles started coming up. I was like, wow, now they
- 9:49Speaker 2: could check that box off.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Well that that usually happens in games like this when
- 9:53Speaker 1: you start giving up a lot of big runs because
- 9:56Speaker 1: you're getting blocked off the ball. Then you feel like
- 9:59Speaker 1: you have to to do a better, You have to
- 10:01Speaker 1: make a play. So what do you do. You start lunging,
- 10:03Speaker 1: you start arm tack you start pressing, and then that
- 10:06Speaker 1: leads to the mistackles. This team, there's no schematic adjustment
- 10:10Speaker 1: per se. I know people are gonna say, well, you
- 10:12Speaker 1: got to get your linebackers going downhill faster like run
- 10:15Speaker 1: blitzing great, then you set yourself up to get killed
- 10:18Speaker 1: across the middle on play action. You just simply have
- 10:20Speaker 1: to be better at the point of attack. I think
- 10:23Speaker 1: that the drop off from Milton Williams, who was a
- 10:27Speaker 1: very strong point of attack player. So Joe Moo is
- 10:30Speaker 1: pretty big. Joema was a long armed, good pass rusher, fast,
- 10:35Speaker 1: quick with the lawn. But he's not a power point
- 10:38Speaker 1: of attack. But he's not bad. I'm not trying to bad.
- 10:40Speaker 1: But in the run, yeah, he doesn't have the same
- 10:43Speaker 1: power that Milton Williams had. I think that's showing, and
- 10:46Speaker 1: I think that's why Vic tried something new to when
- 10:48Speaker 1: he got Byron Young on the field a whole lot more.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I did feel like Jordan Davis was playing high at times,
- 10:53Speaker 1: which he tends to.
- 10:54Speaker 2: There was one bad one. There was one bad one.
- 10:56Speaker 2: I always putting it tow a discord crowd because you're
- 10:59Speaker 2: watching Amazon. If you if you get the All twenty
- 11:01Speaker 2: two angle, I'm like, bad, that was bad. He got
- 11:03Speaker 2: stood up like last year. But he look, he's had
- 11:05Speaker 2: a good year. Let's call it like, he's had a
- 11:07Speaker 2: very good year. But no one could be proud on
- 11:09Speaker 2: defense and not just one person. They all were terrible. Now,
- 11:13Speaker 2: But but but I say that when you run the
- 11:17Speaker 2: ball out, you got to score. And it's not like
- 11:21Speaker 2: the Bears absolutely housed them with their passing game. They didn't,
- 11:25Speaker 2: and they did bog down a little bit. And the defense,
- 11:28Speaker 2: as bad as they were, they actually kept the Eagles
- 11:29Speaker 2: at the offense in the game.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're don't you feel to that point. I'm
- 11:35Speaker 1: just I'm interrupting to capitalize on this point you because
- 11:38Speaker 1: you already mentioned it. There was a drop in the
- 11:41Speaker 1: end zone that should have been a touchdown. Yes, it
- 11:43Speaker 1: was the second it was the second time they targeted
- 11:46Speaker 1: Sydney Brown in the end zone, a red zone end zone,
- 11:49Speaker 1: and the second time he got beat and the ball
- 11:53Speaker 1: wasn't caught. By the way, that's another thing to look
- 11:55Speaker 1: out for when they play the Chargers, because the weather
- 11:57Speaker 1: will be nice, Sydney will be out there, and trust me,
- 12:01Speaker 1: it'll be Aronde gats In, it'll be live mccacky. They
- 12:04Speaker 1: will look at this tape and they will absolutely go
- 12:06Speaker 1: after Sydney Brown.
- 12:07Speaker 2: By the way, and let me have one thing, Greg Roman,
- 12:09Speaker 2: as a GM told me a sophisticated a running game
- 12:12Speaker 2: he's ever seen and this guy's been in legal long
- 12:14Speaker 2: time now. The thing is, you know they've got a
- 12:19Speaker 2: lot of time now they have you know, they don't
- 12:22Speaker 2: get up. They most likely would do something on Monday.
- 12:25Speaker 2: But if the practice week doesn't start till oh yeah, wow,
- 12:28Speaker 2: the real practice week doesn't start your Thursday. We'll see
- 12:32Speaker 2: if there are any change is made coming up here, we'll see.

- 15:16Speaker 1: that's so if you really want to go down the
- 15:19Speaker 1: whole twenty twenty three to go right, it's yeah, it's
- 15:22Speaker 1: sort of like when they lost too or they lost
- 15:23Speaker 1: too well and it already started to happen, but then
- 15:26Speaker 1: the losses to San Francisco and Seattle back to back.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Is when you really started to hear about the patrician
- 15:33Speaker 1: taking over and that was made and then it became
- 15:35Speaker 1: official and that became a mess.
- 15:38Speaker 2: So you know what it was weeks fourteen to fifteen
- 15:41Speaker 2: they played the Cowpokes where they got blown out. This
- 15:45Speaker 2: is when the offense started collapsing. It was really the
- 15:47Speaker 2: defense already collapse and the offense started collapsed. The offensive
- 15:51Speaker 2: collapse started week thirteen, and then it just steady got worse.
- 15:55Speaker 2: And that's why I remember when Hurts had to play
- 15:57Speaker 2: in week sixteen then or whatever, I forget, I don't
- 16:01Speaker 2: have the scenario in front of me, but he played,
- 16:02Speaker 2: and then they got the terrible loss to began, and
- 16:05Speaker 2: he came into Philly beat them. No, it was actually
- 16:08Speaker 2: week you know that's right, did McKee playing, No, Mariota started,
- 16:13Speaker 2: Hurts did start weeks eighteen where they got blown out
- 16:17Speaker 2: at the at the Giants. You play briefly Mariota took over.
- 16:20Speaker 2: But bottom line is, yeah, folks, I salute you. You guys.
- 16:25Speaker 2: You know, people like to throw stuff against the wall
- 16:27Speaker 2: earlier in the season when they don't like what they see,
- 16:29Speaker 2: and hey, you know what, you guys are right. The
- 16:33Speaker 2: vibes are bad. They're somehow only a game and a
- 16:34Speaker 2: half ahead of the Cowboys.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Yes, yes, now this is yes, this is a bad
- 16:41Speaker 1: stretch for the butt. They always win crowd or the butt.
- 16:43Speaker 1: They're eight and two crowd. It's fine because because and
- 16:47Speaker 1: we always we always like to say, you know, sometimes
- 16:49Speaker 1: our jobs is we're not going to wait for water
- 16:52Speaker 1: to be falling from the sky to tell you that
- 16:54Speaker 1: it's going to rain, you know, and nobody wants to
- 16:57Speaker 1: hear that. But when you see the clouds on the horizon,
- 17:00Speaker 1: have to discuss them. And it doesn't matter if it's
- 17:01Speaker 1: really sunny where you are at that moment, if you
- 17:04Speaker 1: know the clouds are coming. So that is the that
- 17:08Speaker 1: is the deal for the Eagles right now. They've got
- 17:10Speaker 1: to rectify this. They have to do it soon. They
- 17:12Speaker 1: have a light schedule after the Chargers game, and the
- 17:15Speaker 1: Chargers are a little bit bad that they've lost both
- 17:17Speaker 1: their offensive tackles. So we'll see with Hampton, right, because
- 17:20Speaker 1: Hampton might be.
- 17:21Speaker 2: He might be well, see, yeah, he actually might. He
- 17:25Speaker 2: had the left ankle fracture. Yeah, he looked good apparently
- 17:28Speaker 2: this week he might and he is explosive, right, kimani
- 17:33Speaker 2: Vedal's done a nice job. But Hampton has explained it's
- 17:37Speaker 2: funny for the people who laughed at Greg and said
- 17:39Speaker 2: that he Greg loved Hampton way more Nastion genty And
- 17:42Speaker 2: I know Chip Kelly was a train wreck for the Raiders.
- 17:45Speaker 2: But now we're going to see Hampton's been out for
- 17:47Speaker 2: most of the season so far. We'll see if they
- 17:48Speaker 2: activated for the game. But let's put that to the side.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Let's get to the offensive debacle, which was this game
- 17:54Speaker 2: as well.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Well, well, I guess I would ask you what what
- 18:01Speaker 1: new thing about? What can we discuss about the offense's
- 18:06Speaker 1: issues right now that we haven't pay well.
- 18:08Speaker 2: He had issues, more penalties on the offensive line. AJ
- 18:13Speaker 2: Brown had a start or to start to get it
- 18:15Speaker 2: was really bad. That's on those guys. The past protection
- 18:19Speaker 2: was inconsistent again, as Greg pointed out, Yes, there are
- 18:22Speaker 2: plenty of plays in the Cowboys game where he Greg
- 18:25Speaker 2: looking at his notes Cosell's notes from the Dallas game,
- 18:28Speaker 2: but there are too many plays where they gave up pressure. Again,
- 18:32Speaker 2: Patullo get Hurts in a rhythm. He didn't get him
- 18:34Speaker 2: to the rhythm. I understand it was windy. We've mentioned
- 18:36Speaker 2: that many times. Still can do that easy throws, very
- 18:41Speaker 2: simple offense. I know it's not his scheme, but it's siriannies.
- 18:44Speaker 2: It hasn't changed, and it's it just was bad. I
- 18:48Speaker 2: mean they when you really, I know, Aj Brown got
- 18:50Speaker 2: hot later late in the game and he had some
- 18:53Speaker 2: good place in the first half. He actually had a
- 18:55Speaker 2: huge game ten for one, thirty two for two, touchdown,
- 18:57Speaker 2: great adjustment on the first touchdown, phenomenal adjustment and Hurts,
- 19:01Speaker 2: Hurts saw the guy's back turn. But bottom line is,
- 19:04Speaker 2: you see here's They had some decent runs in the
- 19:06Speaker 2: game from Barkley, but overall, yeah, exactly, there's nothing you
- 19:14Speaker 2: could say with this offense. They can do this well.
- 19:17Speaker 2: They do nothing well in offense. That's the prob nothing.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I'll give you two plays that really jump out to
- 19:23Speaker 1: me or sequences. One is the obvious third and eight
- 19:27Speaker 1: Devonte Smith wide open and then even Dallas got her.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Now I'm gonna defer to Greg and you all twenty
- 19:34Speaker 1: two and the coach is safe because I don't know
- 19:36Speaker 1: if got her was wide open because the ball was
- 19:39Speaker 1: already going to a safety. I don't know. But the
- 19:41Speaker 1: replay that the show John TV looked like Dallas Goddard
- 19:44Speaker 1: could have walked in for a touchdown on that play.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Either way, DeVante Smith was wide open and he didn't
- 19:50Speaker 1: hit him either. And when you're struggling and you have
- 19:53Speaker 1: that ability, well, no, I would say.
- 19:55Speaker 2: That the ball to the right side to hurt to Smith,
- 19:58Speaker 2: which was way late. It looked like it got caught
- 20:00Speaker 2: up of the way. And I'm not making excuses. Yes,
- 20:01Speaker 2: DeVante was what he should have had. It should have
- 20:04Speaker 2: got it to you.
- 20:05Speaker 1: But no, this was on the left side though you're
- 20:06Speaker 1: talking about I'm talking about the third and eight where
- 20:09Speaker 1: in the zone, high level. Yeah, they ran a high
- 20:12Speaker 1: low zone beater and Devonte Smith's wide open and the
- 20:14Speaker 1: ball got thrown behind him. Now, the win could have
- 20:17Speaker 1: been an issue. I'm not saying well, I'm just saying
- 20:19Speaker 1: for an offense that was just right there, man, it was.
- 20:21Speaker 2: It was right there for yeah, self afflicted wounds.
- 20:25Speaker 1: And then Adam coming out of the halftime, all right,
- 20:29Speaker 1: you're first down, you got the pony package in, so
- 20:32Speaker 1: I got no issue with that. You're trying some new
- 20:34Speaker 1: stuff right right. Herts is throwing the ball. I don't
- 20:39Speaker 1: know who's fault of it. I don't care. It's a
- 20:41Speaker 1: bad place. But here's the thing.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Here's the thing. He saw Barkley, he was going to
- 20:46Speaker 2: go to him. Fine, Barkley's back, He's back, He's not
- 20:49Speaker 2: there to he's he didn't turn yet. He threw it
- 20:52Speaker 2: early and Barkley didn't see it until late. So yeah,
- 20:54Speaker 2: that well, well I ask Greg, but that that was bad.
- 20:58Speaker 2: It was just a comedy of rus. That That has
- 21:00Speaker 2: been the story with his football team, the timing of
- 21:03Speaker 2: the comedy of ours. There's just so many self afflicted wounds.
- 21:06Speaker 2: It's just bad. Brad Man had one really bad punt,
- 21:09Speaker 2: but you know, I know it was at a sixty
- 21:11Speaker 2: three yard which was a boomer earlier in the game.
- 21:13Speaker 2: The win was win was bad. But overall, listen, they
- 21:18Speaker 2: lost the game. They got out coach. This is this
- 21:19Speaker 2: is one of the worst coach games and years for
- 21:21Speaker 2: the Eagles. But and you can't blame one side of football,
- 21:24Speaker 2: it's just both. It was just it was just bad.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough, parking, traffic,

- 23:36Speaker 1: Slash Legal Slash podcasts for full disclosures. Definitely a humiliating loss.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I mean when you get just and your own house
- 23:43Speaker 1: steamroll time and time again in the run game, when
- 23:47Speaker 1: you know the run's coming. They line up to put
- 23:49Speaker 1: a couple of guys on scrimmage. They turn around, hand
- 23:51Speaker 1: the ball off and next thing you know, seven, ten, fifteen,
- 23:54Speaker 1: twenty three. So I mean, that's embarrassing. That's humiliating. And
- 23:58Speaker 1: this Eagles team, for all it's accomplished over the last
- 24:01Speaker 1: three to five years, has to look at itself in
- 24:04Speaker 1: the mirror here and say, who do we.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Want to be?
- 24:07Speaker 1: I mean, is this how we're gonna People are gonna
- 24:08Speaker 1: remember us as the team that you know, goes to
- 24:10Speaker 1: Super Bowls and the next year craps all over itself.
- 24:13Speaker 1: It shouldn't be the case. They do have too much talent,
- 24:17Speaker 1: and I'm just you know, I think you can there's
- 24:20Speaker 1: nothing but disappointment that everybody should feel about this. I
- 24:23Speaker 1: could have understood a loss, but not like this, not
- 24:26Speaker 1: like that. Let test your manhood loss? Yeah never, Let right?
- 24:30Speaker 2: It was bad.
- 24:30Speaker 1: That just was.
- 24:32Speaker 2: I call it an embarrassing loss. And Herihannity's got to
- 24:36Speaker 2: reach his players. There their fault, these lays. I mean
- 24:40Speaker 2: it's only two in a row, but the way that
- 24:42Speaker 2: they've lost, they blew They blew it significantly. Fourteen accepted
- 24:46Speaker 2: penalties last week. Okay, that's bad and the timeliness, the
- 24:51Speaker 2: execution terrible. Uh. I'm not gonna say they have a
- 24:56Speaker 2: buying issue, but man, you have to ask, what why
- 24:59Speaker 2: can these coaches get these players to play at a
- 25:01Speaker 2: better level. Because this is the same staff mostly they
- 25:05Speaker 2: want a super Bowl with last year. But something's going
- 25:07Speaker 2: on here. I can't figure on it. I just can't.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I just can't.
- 25:11Speaker 1: I agree with you. I don't think you can just
- 25:13Speaker 1: take offensive line injuries and say that is a reason
- 25:17Speaker 1: for this team's inability to run the ball at all.
- 25:19Speaker 1: There are other teams that have backup offensive linemen then
- 25:22Speaker 1: that can run the ball better than the Eagles, So
- 25:24Speaker 1: it doesn't make sense. In fact, the Bears have had
- 25:27Speaker 1: some backups on their offensive line. They have one of
- 25:28Speaker 1: the best running games, if not the best, in the NFL.
- 25:32Speaker 1: There's something that's not right. It doesn't make sense. I
- 25:34Speaker 1: agree with you. I think you can put coaching in there.
- 25:36Speaker 1: You can put regression, all those things. There's got to
- 25:39Speaker 1: be more for this team. And what's what's that that's
- 25:46Speaker 1: that added in there.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I've always felt like that's an excuse. But you
- 25:50Speaker 2: know what, more coaches around the league I talked to
- 25:52Speaker 2: won a Super Bowl the more I believe it, it's getting
- 25:55Speaker 2: started late. Guys have off season surgeries, they're not quite themselves.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Free agency departures. We talked, We put it out right
- 26:05Speaker 2: before free agency started. Eagles are going to cut their
- 26:07Speaker 2: cash budget and spending football operations. And that you've seen
- 26:11Speaker 2: a lot of the free agent moves just didn't work out.
- 26:13Speaker 2: There weren't how I had a quiet free agency. I
- 26:16Speaker 2: understand that a lot of them didn't work out. It's
- 26:18Speaker 2: all kind of all. It's all kind of coming to
- 26:21Speaker 2: your firs here, just a just guys not executing. Guy's
- 26:25Speaker 2: not playing as well. The cornerback position off opposite Dejane
- 26:29Speaker 2: Jackson gave up big plays last week before he got hurt.
- 26:33Speaker 2: They got a little lucky today. I'm telling you they
- 26:34Speaker 2: got lucky with a win. Who knows what would have
- 26:37Speaker 2: happened by the way Jacks Hunt did not start the game. Well,
- 26:40Speaker 2: we'll see when when I get the snap counts sent
- 26:43Speaker 2: to me overnight. I'm very interesting to see what the
- 26:46Speaker 2: snap count between Hunt and Smith happened to be in
- 26:48Speaker 2: this game. That's something we'll look at. We'll see how
- 26:51Speaker 2: how down Card was in snaps. But you know, Vic
- 26:54Speaker 2: was probably up. But I mean he must have been
- 26:56Speaker 2: super pissed. I mean, not only is he not proud
- 26:58Speaker 2: of what happened. For a prideful coach like Cam and
- 27:01Speaker 2: Clint Hurt work together in Chicago, have known each other
- 27:03Speaker 2: a long time. When a team, I didn't write it down.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I didn't write the down, but it was like second
- 27:11Speaker 2: and nine or like third and eight, and they ran it.
- 27:14Speaker 2: And I'm like, that's so humiliating. They knew they couldn't.
- 27:16Speaker 2: They got it done.
- 27:17Speaker 1: I was like, God, yep, I thought the same thing.
- 27:21Speaker 1: All right, listen, it's gonna be a little bit of
- 27:24Speaker 1: a break in Eagles game. They don't play again until
- 27:25Speaker 1: the following Monday night against the Chargers, So we are
- 27:29Speaker 1: going to on the Inside the Birds platform have a
- 27:31Speaker 1: ton of coverage between now and then from all of
- 27:35Speaker 1: us here at the inside of the Birds family. Hope you
- 27:37Speaker 1: all had a great Thanksgiving. I'm sorry you didn't have
- 27:39Speaker 1: a great Black Friday. But the Eagles got a lot
- 27:42Speaker 1: to prove and we're gonna be talking about that for
- 27:45Speaker 1: all the way up until their next game against the Chargers.
- 27:48Speaker 1: For Adam Kaplan, I'm Jeff Mosher. You've been watching the
- 27:52Speaker 1: Inside the Birds postgame show, catch you all in the
- 27:55Speaker 1: next one at
