- 0:24Well, hello there, everyone.
- 0:26Good day.
- 0:26It is John C.
- 0:27Morley here, serial entrepreneur.
- 0:29Great to be with you.
- 0:30It is our episode six, which means tomorrow
- 0:33is the last episode of this master topic.
- 0:37But don't be sad, because on Saturday, we'll
- 0:39have a brand new master topic.
- 0:41Great to have you here.
- 0:42If this is your very first time here,
- 0:43I want to take the opportunity to say
- 0:45thank you.
- 0:45And of course, I want to say those
- 0:46words.
- 0:46Welcome to you personally.
- 0:48If you've been here before, one, five, 10,
- 0:5120, 100, or maybe even more times, I
- 0:54want to take this opportunity to say not
- 0:56only thank you and welcome, but I want
- 0:59to say the words welcome back.
- 1:02Yes, welcome back.
- 1:04And ladies and gentlemen, with today being Thursday,
- 1:07I'm not sure if you guys know this,
- 1:09but on Sundays and Thursdays, we do something
- 1:13a little special here at the Inspirations for
- 1:16Your Life show.
- 1:16What is that?
- 1:18Well, if you haven't been here before, I'm
- 1:20going to reveal exactly what that is.
- 1:21We do a community spotlight, and we usually
- 1:27pick a local family-owned business that we
- 1:30are going to spotlight for a couple of
- 1:33reasons.
- 1:33So today's community spotlight, today, Thursday, July 9,
- 1:372026, we're going to go ahead and feature
- 1:42a local business.
- 1:44And I'll tell you who that is in
- 1:46just a second.
- 1:48But again, you're probably wondering, why do we
- 1:50do this?
- 1:51And so that's a great question.
- 1:54A couple of reasons.
- 1:56At the Inspirations for Your Life show, we
- 1:58really want to build community for ourselves and
- 2:01for other people.
- 2:03I think that's a very important thing.
- 2:06So today's shout out actually goes all the
- 2:11way to our friends at Defying Gravity.
- 2:16Let me say that again.
- 2:18Defying Gravity.
- 2:20Now, Gravity, not like Gravity of the World,
- 2:24but Gravity, G-R-A-V-I-T
- 2:26-E-A.
- 2:28And this place is located in, yes, New
- 2:32Jersey.
- 2:33But where specifically are they located?
- 2:35They're located right on 211 Newark-Pompton Turnpike
- 2:39in Poquanock, New Jersey, 07440.
- 2:45Again, a big shout out to Gravity.
- 2:50So a little bit about them.
- 2:52They claim that their Defying Gravity has grown
- 2:56from basically this lady's family kitchen to a
- 3:00bustling New Jersey shop where everything is small
- 3:03batch, scratch made and crafted with care by
- 3:07a close knit team of their own family
- 3:09and close friends.
- 3:11Along the way, they said they've had the
- 3:13joy of baking for celebrity chefs and connecting
- 3:16with an incredible community of people who share
- 3:18their passion, their mission to honor tradition while
- 3:21making food that is inclusive, nourishing and irresistibly,
- 3:25they say, delicious.
- 3:27They believe everyone deserves to feel the joy
- 3:29of a treat made with love without compromise.
- 3:32So they're a nice little coffee shop.
- 3:35But again, they're more than just a shop.
- 3:40They have a food truck.
- 3:42So they have some interesting things that they
- 3:44have their menu just to let you know
- 3:45real quick at Gravity.
- 3:49Interesting stuff.
- 3:50So they have breakfast like flourless oatmeal pancakes.
- 3:54They have make your own omelets.
- 3:56They have a Dutch baby, a personal skillet
- 3:59top with caramelized apples, whipped cream.
- 4:01Sounds delicious, doesn't it?
- 4:03Bite sized up like a banana bread plate,
- 4:05house soup and savory scone, avocado toast, sweet
- 4:10potato bourbon, cherry toast.
- 4:12They've also got classic flat breads for your
- 4:15lunch, bacon and blue afternoon acres from the
- 4:20farm.
- 4:21They've got classics with a twist like banana
- 4:23bread, ABJ sandwich, house made banana bread with
- 4:27almond butter and house made jam.
- 4:30They've got mac and cheese.
- 4:32Yes, they've got gluten free.
- 4:34They've got a Parmesan sandwich.
- 4:35They've got calzones and their tea blends.
- 4:39So they have a rise and glow.
- 4:41They have a cozy chai.
- 4:43They have an Elphaba.
- 4:44They have a Glinda.
- 4:45They have a goodness.
- 4:47They have a nurture me, a cold calmer,
- 4:49relax and unwind.
- 4:51They have a slimmer sipper.
- 4:53So some interesting things that they have at
- 4:56Gravity.
- 4:57So again, this personal shout out is to
- 5:00all the people at Gravity in Pompton, actually
- 5:06Pequonic, New Jersey.
- 5:07Sorry there.
- 5:08They are at 211 Pompton Turnpike.
- 5:10And the reason we are reaching out to
- 5:12it is Gina, who is the founder of
- 5:15this.

- 5:54-V-I-T-E-A.
- 5:56So without any further ado, guys, let's get
- 5:58into today's show because I know you guys
- 6:00are wondering what it is.
- 6:01So the power of steady trust, building stability
- 6:03in certain times.
- 6:04I think when things are uncertain, people decide
- 6:06they want to give up.
- 6:07But that's actually a time when things might
- 6:09actually turn to something great.
- 6:12Today on our show, we're on episode number
- 6:17six.
- 6:18So it's a show 28, episode number six,
- 6:21How Grace Fills the Gaps.
- 6:23Welcome, ladies, gentlemen, once again to the Inspirations
- 6:25for Your Life show.
- 6:27If you have not checked out BelieveMeChief.com,
- 6:29go do that after the show is over.
- 6:31If you want to get yourself some tea
- 6:34or maybe our water or some soda or
- 6:38any other beverage of your choice, or maybe
- 6:41a snack, it could be some candy, it
- 6:43could be some fruit.
- 6:44That's totally up to you.
- 6:45Hey, everyone, I'm John C.
- 6:47Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, of course,
- 6:50video producer, podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate
- 6:53student at Montclair State University, passionate lifelong learner
- 6:58and grateful now to be a published author.
- 7:01Thank you so much for choosing to join
- 7:03me either live today, this Thursday, July 9,
- 7:062026, or on a replay, which works for
- 7:09you as well.
- 7:10Thank you again for joining me on this
- 7:11amazing, amazing episode of the Inspirations for Your
- 7:14Life show, where I explore practical principles that
- 7:17help us grow stronger, think wiser and live
- 7:20with a greater purpose in life.
- 7:22This week's master topic is the power of
- 7:25steady trust, building stability in uncertain times, uncertain
- 7:29worlds.
- 7:29I mean, I know a lot of times
- 7:31people say, you know, this is impossible.
- 7:32You can't do this now.
- 7:33The economy, all these things are just people's
- 7:36minds talking, but they're not the truth.
- 7:40And we'll learn that a little more.
- 7:42So there comes a point, ladies and gentlemen,
- 7:44in every journey where hard work alone isn't
- 7:47enough.
- 7:47It's not about working hard, guys.
- 7:50I'm sorry.
- 7:50You can prepare, plan, learn and stay disciplined,
- 7:54yet some outcomes remain well outside your control.
- 7:57That doesn't mean you have failed.
- 7:59Let me get that right off the plate.
- 8:01It means life is reminding you that growth
- 8:03isn't created only through effort, yet don't just
- 8:06work hard and think you're going to succeed
- 8:07because you won't.
- 8:09Sometimes progress requires patience, perspective, support and the
- 8:13willingness to let solutions develop in their own
- 8:16time.
- 8:17Now, today I'm exploring 30 principles that show
- 8:20how trusting the process allows gaps to become
- 8:24opportunities instead of obstacles.
- 8:26Are you ready, guys?
- 8:27Let's dive right in.
- 8:28Number one, not everything is solved by effort
- 8:32alone.
- 8:33Hard work matters, yes, but it cannot control
- 8:37every outcome.
- 8:39Some solutions require wisdom, patience and timing that
- 8:43effort alone can't even shake a stick at.
- 8:47Number two, timing plays a critical role in
- 8:50outcomes.
- 8:51The right opportunity at the wrong time often
- 8:54produces disappointment and a lot of frustration.
- 8:57Preparation and timing work together to create this
- 9:01unbreakable recipe of success.
- 9:05Number three, support often appears when you stay
- 9:08consistent.
- 9:09I said you need two things for success.
- 9:11You need consistency and you need structure.
- 9:13Now, just because you've done it today and
- 9:14it hasn't shown up doesn't mean you need
- 9:15to stop.
- 9:16It means you need to keep going.
- 9:18When you continue showing up with integrity and
- 9:21perseverance, help often arrives from unexpected places.
- 9:25It's the belief and the fact that you're
- 9:27looking for it and believing in it allows
- 9:31it to come through.
- 9:32When we say, oh, it's not working, even
- 9:35if the opportunity was right smack in front
- 9:37of your face, you would just miss it
- 9:39all the time.
- 9:41Consistency creates opportunities for others to contribute.
- 9:45I think that's a I think that's a
- 9:46very important thing, guys.
- 9:49Number four, you cannot force every result.
- 9:51Don't even try.
- 9:53Some outcomes develop naturally over time.
- 9:55Trying to force them often creates frustration instead
- 9:58of progress.
- 10:00Number five, guys, space allows better solutions to
- 10:03form.
- 10:04Stepping back creates room for new ideas and
- 10:06fresh perspectives.
- 10:08Space often reveals possibilities that pressure keeps hiding.
- 10:14Number six, gaps are part of the growth
- 10:17system.
- 10:17Every challenge reveals an area where growth is
- 10:20still in development, right in progress.
- 10:24Those gaps are invitations to learn rather than
- 10:28a command for us to think we fail
- 10:31because we haven't failed unless we've quit.
- 10:34Taking a pause doesn't mean we failed.
- 10:36Number seven, what you cannot do alone can
- 10:38still be completed.
- 10:41OK, what you cannot do alone can can
- 10:44still be completed.
- 10:45No one succeeds entirely alone.
- 10:47If you think they do, well, you're missing
- 10:49something.
- 10:50There's always somebody behind the scenes.
- 10:52Learning when to seek help demonstrates wisdom, not
- 10:56weakness.
- 10:57All right.
- 10:57That's important, guys.
- 11:00Number eight, relief often comes unexpectedly.
- 11:03Solutions don't always arrive accordingly to your schedule
- 11:06or to your own timeline or to your
- 11:09specifications, but they come.
- 11:11Remaining open allows you to recognize opportunities you
- 11:15may have otherwise overlooked.
- 11:17And the opportunity might have been there for
- 11:18days, for weeks, for months.
- 11:20But because you were blinded from it, you
- 11:24never saw it.
- 11:26Number nine, patience allows external help to arrive.
- 11:31When we make the decision to stop rushing
- 11:34every outcome, people, ideas and opportunities often seem
- 11:39to magically appear at exactly the right moment
- 11:42in time.
- 11:43Patience creates room for unexpected support.
- 11:47So why don't we start living our life
- 11:48on patience instead of trying to rush every
- 11:50moment away?
- 11:51Number 10, effort is important, but not everything.
- 11:55Success requires discipline.
- 11:57But it is also about understanding our perspective,
- 12:00knowing when to push and when to pause
- 12:02as part of lasting wisdom.
- 12:04You have to know when to take a
- 12:05break.
- 12:06Right.
- 12:06All successful people know that it's time to
- 12:08rest.
- 12:09Rest is a very important part of success.
- 12:11You cannot keep going 24-7.
- 12:14You say, well, gee, I got to work
- 12:1527.
- 12:15That doesn't work.
- 12:16OK, working where you take a break is
- 12:19where the short term memory gets committed to
- 12:22the long term and allows you to become
- 12:24more creative.
- 12:25The other way seems to put money maybe
- 12:28in your pocket, but it's eventually going to
- 12:29cause burnout and you're not going to be
- 12:32able to last very long on that.
- 12:35So number 11, breakthroughs happen in space, not
- 12:39pressure.
- 12:39Constant pressure limits creativity.
- 12:43Sometimes people have to learn a hard lesson
- 12:45to figure this out.
- 12:46Giving yourself room to think often produces the
- 12:49breakthrough you've been searching for your entire life.
- 12:53Number 12, not all problems require immediate action.
- 12:57Some situations improve with thoughtful observation rather than
- 13:00an instant reaction.
- 13:02Wisdom often begins by slowing down.
- 13:05I found this to be true that, you
- 13:07know, we're pushing for an answer.
- 13:09We're not going to get it.
- 13:10When we think about it and we just
- 13:13kind of allow it to just drift, suddenly
- 13:16we get this mini epiphany like, oh, now
- 13:20I see this from a different light.
- 13:21Now I get a different perspective.
- 13:24Number 13, some answers arrive through time, as
- 13:27I said, experience reveals truths that cannot be
- 13:30rushed.
- 13:30Time has a remarkable way of bringing clarity
- 13:33to confusing solutions.
- 13:36How?
- 13:37It's the old concept of letting go and
- 13:40letting flow.
- 13:42You see, people think when you let go
- 13:44and you lose control, you're giving up control.
- 13:47You're actually gaining more control because more comes
- 13:51back to you.
- 13:52Number 14, you are not meant to carry
- 13:55everything alone.
- 13:56Strong people are willing to accept encouragement, advice
- 13:59and assistance.
- 14:01Shared burdens become lighter and shared wisdom produces
- 14:05better decisions.
- 14:07Number 15, progress includes unseen assistance.
- 14:11Many victories are made possible by circumstances, opportunities,
- 14:16encouragement and lessons that are not immediately obvious.
- 14:19Growth is often supported by influences working quietly
- 14:22behind the scenes, right behind the scenes.
- 14:26How many people, when you do a TV
- 14:28show or you watch a big production, whether
- 14:31it be Disney or any other thing, any
- 14:33other theme park could be universal or even
- 14:35a parade.
- 14:36There's so many people that were behind the
- 14:39scenes that made that happen.
- 14:41The people that built the float, the people
- 14:43that promote the parade, the drivers in the
- 14:46float, the security that's there, all the broadcast
- 14:50media, right?
- 14:50There's so much going on, but I think
- 14:52we don't focus our attention on it because
- 14:54we're just looking at the float, right?
- 14:56All the people that from the flower shops
- 14:58that put those floats together, right?
- 15:01Then you got the handyman that actually built
- 15:02the floats.
- 15:03You got the people that manufactured the gasoline
- 15:06so that you could get the float going
- 15:08or now it's electric or the people that
- 15:10made the batters.
- 15:11You get my point.
- 15:12Number 16, flow improves when control is reduced.
- 15:15So if you let go, you allow the
- 15:18flow.
- 15:19Little thing I came up with, let go
- 15:21and allow the flow.
- 15:23Trying to control every outcome often creates unnecessary
- 15:26stress and a ton of frustration.
- 15:29When you focus on doing your best and
- 15:30release what you cannot control, progress becomes more
- 15:34natural.
- 15:36Confidence grows when you trust both your preparation
- 15:39and the process.
- 15:40So what's my message?
- 15:41Let it go and it'll flow.
- 15:44OK, when your values, actions and goods work
- 15:48together, better decisions become easier.
- 15:50Number 17, alignment creates momentum because your energy
- 15:53is no longer divided.
- 15:55Progress accelerates when every part of your life
- 15:57points in the same direction.
- 15:59But you can't do this when you're trying
- 16:01to control everything.
- 16:03Number 18, rest creates clarity.
- 16:07Why have no time to rest?
- 16:09You need to rest.
- 16:10Constant activity can cloud good judgment.
- 16:13OK, taking time to rest allows your mind
- 16:16to process information, recognize patterns and discover solutions
- 16:19that busyness often hides.
- 16:20And as I said, it takes the short
- 16:22term memory and puts it into our long
- 16:24term memory.
- 16:25That's another great benefit of rest.
- 16:28Number 19, over effort can book and block
- 16:33the insights that we're meant to get.
- 16:36Working harder is not always the answer.
- 16:38Pushing beyond healthy limits can create exhaustion that
- 16:41makes simple solutions difficult to recognize.
- 16:43People say, well, you know, you're not working
- 16:44hard enough.
- 16:45That's people's mentality, but it's not the truth.
- 16:49A person that worked hard didn't gain success
- 16:52alone by just working hard.
- 16:54Balance allows wisdom to replace frustration.
- 16:56There's got to be a balance of work,
- 16:59creativity and structure.
- 17:02Number 20, grace appears in unexpected timing.
- 17:07I love this one.
- 17:08Some of life's greatest opportunities arrive when you
- 17:11least expect them.
- 17:14Looking back, many delays proved to have protected
- 17:17you or prepared you for something better.
- 17:19That's the thing I want to leave with
- 17:20today.
- 17:21You know, maybe we don't have what we
- 17:23want today, but we know it's going to
- 17:26come exactly as we want or we're going
- 17:28to get something even better.
- 17:30Timing often makes sense only in the hindsight.
- 17:35And we go through lots of frustration all
- 17:38because, you know, we're not getting in on
- 17:43our timeline.
- 17:44Who says it has to be in our
- 17:46timeline?
- 17:47Us, right?
- 17:48But if we just let go and let
- 17:50it flow and it just sort of comes
- 17:51in, it's like a blessing.
- 17:54Holding tightly to one outcome can prevent you
- 17:57from seeing better possibilities.
- 18:01Releasing unnecessary control creates space for new opportunities,
- 18:05fresh ideas and healthier perspectives.
- 18:07Openness allows growth to continue.
- 18:08I'm going to repeat what I said before.
- 18:09Let it go and it will flow.
- 18:13But you can't just do this once.
- 18:15Okay, I let it go.
- 18:15It didn't flow.
- 18:16How long did you do it for?
- 18:18Oh, I don't know.
- 18:19Five minutes.
- 18:21You got to embrace it more than that,
- 18:23more than a day, more than several days.
- 18:24You need to make it part of your
- 18:26lifestyle.
- 18:27And I know that's hard for a lot
- 18:28of people, but it is the truth.
- 18:29Number 22, solutions often come from outside thinking.
- 18:33The answer you need may come from a
- 18:34conversation, a mentor, a book or a completely
- 18:37different perspective.
- 18:38Staying teachable allows wisdom to enter from places
- 18:41you never expected.
- 18:42People that are closed minded, people that say
- 18:45they know everything, don't.
- 18:48Great solutions often begin with listening and being
- 18:51open to new perspectives.
- 18:55Number 23, not every gap is yours to
- 18:59fill.
- 18:59So don't feel the responsibility that you have
- 19:01to.
- 19:02Some of these responsibilities, well, belong to others.
- 19:05And some situations simply require time and patience.
- 19:09Learning what is truly yours to carry protects
- 19:12your energy and helps you focus where you
- 19:14can make the greatest difference.
- 19:16Wisdom includes healthy boundaries.
- 19:18I think that's another thing we miss in
- 19:19life.
- 19:20We get stuck in this rat race or
- 19:22being on a, let's say, this wheel, you
- 19:25know, the hamster wheel.
- 19:25And we keep pedaling and pedaling and pedaling
- 19:28and pedaling because if we don't pedal, we're
- 19:29going to fall off.
- 19:30But what we don't realize is that if
- 19:32we pedal slow, the wheel will still stay
- 19:35in balance.
- 19:36And we don't have to be this crazy
- 19:38person, right?
- 19:39We can still be on that hamster wheel
- 19:40nice and slow.
- 19:41The wheel will balance.
- 19:42We won't fall off and we won't be
- 19:44out of energy.
- 19:45Plus, we can also get off the wheel
- 19:46without any kind of engagement to ourself or
- 19:48the animal.
- 19:49Number 24, support systems matter.
- 19:54Strong relationships provide encouragement, accountability and perspective
- 19:59during difficult seasons.
- 20:01When I say a season, I'm not talking
- 20:02about, you know, winter, spring, summer, fall.
- 20:05I'm talking about the seasons of your life.
- 20:07Seasons of things like a frustration period, a
- 20:10success period, a like, why is this always
- 20:16me period, right?
- 20:18Success becomes more sustainable when we build a
- 20:21community that strengthens rather than drains you.
- 20:24You know, people that drain you because when
- 20:26you're around, oh, my gosh, when are we
- 20:28going to ever leave these people?
- 20:30I can't stand this.
- 20:31Right.
- 20:31You know what I mean?
- 20:33And we don't have to name people.
- 20:34But when you're around certain people, they fuel
- 20:37you.
- 20:37So here's the lesson.
- 20:38The lesson is you don't have to be
- 20:41over nice by always being around certain people.
- 20:45You could still be polite and say, hey,
- 20:46you know, I've got something else to do.
- 20:48Maybe another time, because that person drains you.
- 20:52You may only want to be around them
- 20:5310 minutes.
- 20:53And that's nothing with you.
- 20:55It's because of their energy.
- 20:56We're not here to fix other people, OK?
- 20:59That's not what we're here to do.
- 21:01People that want to be fixed, that's great.
- 21:03But we're not here trying to get them
- 21:05to change their lives.
- 21:06If they don't want to change their life,
- 21:08I don't force them.
- 21:09I don't make people come and watch my
- 21:11show or listen to it.
- 21:12If you don't want to change your life,
- 21:14if you're happy with the way your life's
- 21:15going, great.
- 21:16Then you don't need my content.
- 21:18But if you want to make your life
- 21:19better, which I haven't met, well, I haven't
- 21:21met too many people that don't want to
- 21:22make their lives better.
- 21:23I don't care whether they have a penny,
- 21:24whether they have billions of dollars.
- 21:27They still want to make their life better.
- 21:28I met a gentleman several months ago for
- 21:32respect and privacy.
- 21:34I'm not going to name the person's name.
- 21:35We were having a conversation on the plane.
- 21:37I was telling him about all this money
- 21:38he had and how he had all these
- 21:40different shops.
- 21:40But he wasn't yet fulfilled.
- 21:42He wasn't yet happy.
- 21:44So this proves people that have money are
- 21:47not always happy.
- 21:49They may have every single resource they have,
- 21:51but they might be missing some things.
- 21:53They may be poor in other areas.
- 21:55So we need to balance all of that.
- 21:57OK, number 25, balance requires a release.
- 22:01Let it go and it will flow.
- 22:03A healthy life is built on knowing what
- 22:06to hold on to and what to let
- 22:08go.
- 22:08Releasing unnecessary pressure creates room for peace, creativity
- 22:12and better decisions.
- 22:13Now, balance is created through intentional choices.
- 22:16Where do they come from?
- 22:17Inside, which comes from our core values.
- 22:20And I mentioned before on the show, your
- 22:22core values might have changed when you're younger,
- 22:24but if you get older, those core values
- 22:26are becoming more cement.
- 22:27You know what it is you're not going
- 22:29to stand for and you know what you
- 22:30want and don't want in your life.
- 22:32Number 26, space invites better outcomes.
- 22:35Not every moment needs to be filled with
- 22:37activity.
- 22:38Creating space for reflection often leads to clearer
- 22:41thinking and stronger decisions.
- 22:43Now, quiet moments frequently produce meaningful breakthroughs like,
- 22:49you know, when you just sit there and
- 22:50you just kind of like have a moment,
- 22:51whether it's a cup of tea, whether it's
- 22:53doing some breathing exercises that I've shared with
- 22:55you, it gets you to tune into who
- 22:57you are.
- 22:58Another great exercise of mine I love, especially
- 23:02in the summertime, you can just, you know,
- 23:07sit on the grass or the dirt and
- 23:09stand there and feel the energy of yourself
- 23:12connected with Mother Earth.
- 23:14That's another great one that allows us to
- 23:17return back to Earth.
- 23:18And a lot of people, they're too much
- 23:20in the hustle and bustle that, oh, my
- 23:22gosh, they wouldn't dare take off their shoes.
- 23:24But it's that humbleness.
- 23:26It's that connection back to the Earth that
- 23:28allows Mother Earth to keep supplying us with
- 23:31great gifts.
- 23:32Number 27, pressure blocks clarity.
- 23:36So why the heck are we doing it?
- 23:37When everything feels urgent in life, nothing is
- 23:40urgent.
- 23:40I mean, I know people that, you know,
- 23:42everything becomes this disaster.
- 23:44Everything becomes an emergency.
- 23:45It's not an emergency.
- 23:46It becomes difficult to think objectively.
- 23:48You remember the story I shared with you
- 23:50about the boy who cried wolf, right?
- 23:52He cried wolf the first time and the
- 23:54townspeople came out.
- 23:56They weren't happy.
- 23:57Second time he cried wolf again because he
- 23:59just wanted to.
- 24:00And they warned him and they came out.
- 24:02The third time he cried wolf again and
- 24:04the real wolf was there.
- 24:05And they're like, we're not coming out this
- 24:07time.
- 24:08Reducing unnecessary pressure allows your mind to focus
- 24:11on solutions that have stress.
- 24:13Why did I say this?
- 24:14When we cry wolf in our own life,
- 24:16when we do this and we get attention
- 24:18and there is no reason for the attention,
- 24:21people are like, hey, all this person is
- 24:23an intention seeker.
- 24:24Right.
- 24:24And I think we have to be selective
- 24:27on when we're trying to get attention.
- 24:30All right.
- 24:30There's got to be a limit to how
- 24:32we do that.
- 24:33We can't just call the at anyone card.
- 24:36Like if you're on social media and you
- 24:37do it at anyone, I don't know about
- 24:39you, but that's going to get me annoyed
- 24:40if you keep tagging everyone in the group
- 24:42when this is just not relative and it's
- 24:46going to come up like spam and I'm
- 24:47going to want to get out of that
- 24:48group.
- 24:49Okay.
- 24:49Calm thinking almost always produces better judgment.
- 24:53People don't do it because they fall into
- 24:54this, what I want to call frustration, frustration
- 24:58trap.
- 25:00Number 28, trust allows resolution.
- 25:03Trust does not eliminate challenges.
- 25:06Let's be clear on that.
- 25:07But it changes how you respond to them.
- 25:09I'd rather somebody be proactive than be reactive.
- 25:15Reactive happens because something that happened to you.
- 25:18Can you be proactive with something happening?
- 25:20Sure you can.
- 25:21You can have a game plan that, okay,
- 25:23if this happens, I get it.
- 25:25I'm going to be proactive, so I'm going
- 25:29to forecast what could happen in that situation.
- 25:32So I'm ready.
- 25:33Instead of reacting with fear and these deep
- 25:36emotions that are going to just frustrate you
- 25:38and frustrate others because I don't know, you
- 25:40dropped a glass, right?
- 25:42Or maybe you happen to bump into a
- 25:44chair and you're not harmed, but you've got
- 25:46to sound the fire alarm, right?
- 25:48Do we pull the fire alarm at school
- 25:50or a business just because, you know, somebody
- 25:53might light a candle?
- 25:55Do we pull the fire alarm?
- 25:56No, we don't pull the fire alarm until
- 25:58we actually smell something burning.
- 26:01Now, usually something burning, we're going to look
- 26:04to our left and see, oh, okay, it
- 26:06was just a little fire in a pot,
- 26:08but it's out.
- 26:09So we don't pull it.
- 26:09But if we can't use you within a
- 26:11short period of time, I mean, like three
- 26:13seconds, figure out if it's a fire or
- 26:15not.
- 26:15We just pull the fire alarm, right?
- 26:16But we can't pull fire alarms in our
- 26:18life every day because we're glutton for attention.
- 26:24People will sense that and not want to
- 26:25be around you.
- 26:26Instead of reacting with fear, you move forward
- 26:29with confidence, knowing that every experience is something
- 26:32valuable to teach you.
- 26:33There's a fire.
- 26:34I'm going to pull the fire alarm, okay?
- 26:37There was a stupid issue.
- 26:40I think it was a few weeks ago.
- 26:42One of the hotels, it was actually a
- 26:43Fairfield Hotel.
- 26:45I think it was in Nebraska.
- 26:46And it was absolutely insane.
- 26:48The guy smelled smoke.
- 26:50So he went in to tell the, you
- 26:53know, the front night manager that he smelled
- 26:55smoke or fire.
- 26:57And so the guys, oh, don't pull the
- 26:59fire alarm.
- 26:59I've got to call the owner first.
- 27:01Like, what the heck kind of nonsense is
- 27:03that?
- 27:04I just pull the fire alarm anyway.
- 27:05Like, like, why do we have to tell
- 27:06the owner if there's a fire?
- 27:08Pull the fire alarm.
- 27:09We don't need to check with the owner.
- 27:10I mean, like, come on.
- 27:11Hello.
- 27:12Trust creates stability during uncertainty.
- 27:14The bad thing is the guy stupidly paid
- 27:17attention to the guy at the desk.
- 27:19He'd tell me not to pull the fire
- 27:20alarm.
- 27:20OK, no problem.
- 27:21And I still go to the count.
- 27:22I still my way out.
- 27:23I would just pull the fire alarm and
- 27:24just leave.
- 27:25Number twenty nine.
- 27:26Some outcomes unfold naturally.
- 27:28Others don't.
- 27:29Not every opportunity needs to be forced.
- 27:32Many of the best relationships, ideas and achievements
- 27:34develop through consistent effort combined with patience, allowing
- 27:38life to unfold at the proper pace and
- 27:41time often produces guys stronger results in your
- 27:45life and others.
- 27:47Grace completes what effort cannot.
- 27:50Number 30.
- 27:50The greatest lesson of today's episode is this,
- 27:52ladies and gentlemen, that your responsibility is to
- 27:55be faithful, do your part.
- 27:57There will always be circumstances beyond your control,
- 28:00but that does not mean progress has stopped
- 28:02when preparation, perseverance, wisdom, patience and trust come
- 28:06together.
- 28:07Life often provides the missing piece at exactly
- 28:09the right time.
- 28:10As we conclude today's episode, remember that success
- 28:13is not built by effort alone.
- 28:15Effort opens the door.
- 28:16But wisdom, patience, healthy relationships and trust often
- 28:19determine what happens next.
- 28:21Continue giving your best every day, but don't
- 28:23believe that every answer depends entirely on you.
- 28:26There will be seasons when your greatest strength
- 28:28is not working harder, but trusting deeper.
- 28:31There'll be moments when stepping back creates more
- 28:33progress and pushing forward.
- 28:36And there'll be times when a missing piece
- 28:38arrives only after you've learned to release what
- 28:41you cannot control.
- 28:42Thank you so much for joining me today.
