  One day Pingu was playing with her toys. She had a new teddy and a new pram.

  She was very pleased with them both and gave the teddy a cuddle.

  Pingo had a new toy too. It was a bright blue scooter.

  He was very proud. I'll let you have a go with my pram, said Pingo.

  If I could ride your scooter. No way, go and play with your pram and leave my

  scooter alone, shouted Pingo and he rolled off.

  At that moment, Dad drove up in the post truck.

  Come and have a ride on the post truck instead, he said to Pingo.

  But Dad didn't see Pinger's pram, and Teddy drove right up. He burst into tears.

  You've broken my new toys!

  Pinger rode up on his own scooter and saw the broken pram on Teddy.

  This means trouble. I have to do something to cheer Pinger up, he thought.

  Pinger turned her back onto everyone and sewed against the wall.

  Pinger got a drum and banged it as loudly as he could behind Pinger's back.

  Go away! screamed Pinger. You're making a horrid noise. Mum had to go next.

  She fetched two lollipops and offered one to Pinger.

  Scream Pink again. I don't want a stupid lollipop.

  Meanwhile, Dad slipped away and went to the toy shop.

  He brought a special new present and took it home for Pingo.

  Then he lifted the lid of the box and showed Pingo a new toy rabbit inside.

  Pingo picked it up and looked at it.

  Mum and Dad and Pingo smiled at each other in relief.

  But Pingo hurled the new toy. I don't want that nasty rabbit, she shouted.

  She shouted.

  Mum, Dad and Pingu were horrified. Suddenly, Pingu had a brilliant idea.

  He rushed outside, came back into the igloo, riding on his scooter.

  This time, Pingu offered his scooter to Pingu. She stopped crying and stared at him.

  Why don't you have a go, said Pingu. Can I really?

  Pingu went up to the scooter and gave it a very big hug.

  Well, Mum and Dad were astonished.

  She shot out through the door and whizzed around outside. That was really good fun, laughed Pingu.

  Can I have another go? Pingu smiled. You can have a ride on my scooter whenever you like.

  At last, everyone was smiling again. Mum and Dad were pleased to see Pingu happy again.

  Just make sure you don't drive the post truck over my scooter, Dad, said Pingu.
