Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: You just want to a new car. It's one more thing.
- 0:03Speaker 2: I'm strong and.
- 0:04Speaker 3: Getty, one more thing before we get to that. And
- 0:10Speaker 3: oddly enough, as we record this in the studio, I'm
- 0:15Speaker 3: looking up the TV and the price is right, Price
- 0:17Speaker 3: is right with Drew Carrey has just begun. That's what
- 0:20Speaker 3: we're about to talk about. You want a new car.
- 0:23Speaker 3: What's what's it like when you win a new car
- 0:24Speaker 3: and the price is right? Get to that in just
- 0:26Speaker 3: a second. First, this though, This is that a Starbucks
- 0:31Speaker 3: some dude gets into an argument with the employees or
- 0:34Speaker 3: something over that new very popular Starbucks bear cup.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Let's bear resta? Is that what it's called?
- 0:40Speaker 2: The bear?
- 0:41Speaker 3: That's kind of a play on words. So it looks
- 0:43Speaker 3: like the bear from the when you used to get
- 0:46Speaker 3: honey in a little bear and you squeeze it out
- 0:47Speaker 3: of his head. But it's some sort of Starbucks cup
- 0:50Speaker 3: or mug or what comes in it?
- 0:52Speaker 1: Coffee? The cup?
- 0:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I would think like an iced coffee.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I wouldn't drink hot coffee. Burn your hands on
- 0:57Speaker 3: that anyway. So somebody cut in line, and then here's
- 1:00Speaker 3: how it went. But what I'm saying is that you
- 1:02Speaker 3: were not in line. With the rest of the guys.
- 1:03Speaker 4: It's not I was in I was in line from
- 1:05Speaker 4: five thirty.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Show me the cameras.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Please can't show you the camera, but you can.
- 1:08Speaker 4: You're claiming something I can't show you the You can
- 1:11Speaker 4: though I can't.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Why not I cannot show you that? So go look
- 1:14Speaker 1: at the cameras. Tell me if I was in line
- 1:16Speaker 1: or not.
- 1:16Speaker 3: I'm going to ask you to leave anymore for you. There.
- 1:22Speaker 1: She took it to the back.
- 1:23Speaker 3: They refusing to give me the there you want to
- 1:26Speaker 3: wait even so, you're not gonna You're not going to
- 1:27Speaker 3: serve me.
- 1:28Speaker 1: You're not going to sell there.
- 1:33Speaker 2: So he cut in front of everybody to get this
- 1:35Speaker 2: stupid bear cup.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Yeah, and I will say that clip was about six
- 1:39Speaker 4: minutes long. He just went back in force.
- 1:43Speaker 1: With this woman.
- 1:44Speaker 3: What do he look like? How old was he?
- 1:46Speaker 4: It was he's the one shooting the video and he
- 1:48Speaker 4: posted it, which tells you even.
- 1:49Speaker 1: More about this person.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Okay, so I didn't see what he looked like, but
- 1:54Speaker 4: I mean, he was just it was all this. He
- 1:57Speaker 4: was repeating himself.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Show me the camera. Oh, you're not going to sell
- 1:59Speaker 1: the bear.
- 2:00Speaker 3: And it's no country for old men because I've reached
- 2:03Speaker 3: a point in my life where I just can't deal
- 2:05Speaker 3: with humanity anymore.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Somebody needs to kin bone him, docs him, figure out
- 2:10Speaker 2: who he is, and then for a period of one week,
- 2:13Speaker 2: everyone in America who passes him should throw coffee in
- 2:15Speaker 2: his face.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Exactly, let's figure out who this guy is, what kind
- 2:18Speaker 3: of weird PORNI likes, and mock him going forward and.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Again her al hot beverages upon him. That is him
- 2:26Speaker 2: or that's parody. I do not suggest that in any circumstance.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Oh my god, humanity is hard to take some time. Yeah,
- 2:32Speaker 2: you know, it's funny. I was thinking about No Country
- 2:34Speaker 2: for Old Men as I was getting ready to come
- 2:37Speaker 2: back to work and get it on. Just some of
- 2:40Speaker 2: the you know, some of the aspects of what we
- 2:42Speaker 2: talk about are just so annoying, Like you know, the Internet,
- 2:46Speaker 2: he stuff like that, and just somebody posts something, somebody
- 2:49Speaker 2: claps back, some non journalist creates some idiot story out
- 2:54Speaker 2: of it that nobody should read, and.
- 2:56Speaker 5: It's like, eh, tell you what, I am enjoyed the
- 3:00Speaker 5: hell out of living what we both have suggested over
- 3:05Speaker 5: and over again, make your life about the actual human
- 3:09Speaker 5: beings you contact to whatever extent possible.
- 3:13Speaker 2: You know that sort of thrice removed. You saw something
- 3:17Speaker 2: posted online, or you're reading an internet argument or something
- 3:21Speaker 2: like that. Ugh, no, No, wander down the street, say
- 3:25Speaker 2: hey to your neighbor, even a person at the store
- 3:27Speaker 2: who you interact with when you're trying to cut in
- 3:29Speaker 2: line and grab a stupid bear cup.
- 3:32Speaker 1: At least that's the real world. But then he goes
- 3:35Speaker 1: and posts it online. I'm back to throwing coffee in
- 3:37Speaker 1: his face.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Are we or are we not moving toward more people
- 3:42Speaker 3: who are alone in an apartment without friends or kids. Yeah,
- 3:48Speaker 3: so the world interaction is this way, Yes, Michael, i'd
- 3:52Speaker 3: disagree with you. Yeah.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Well, they will be miserable and unhappy and all.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Right, but it's going to lead to more people paying
- 3:59Speaker 3: attention to more of this sort of crap just so
- 4:01Speaker 3: they have something to talk about because they don't have
- 4:03Speaker 3: anything going on in their real lives.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah. By the way, uh, a semi related topic.
- 4:08Speaker 2: While a planet of the apes would be infinitely entertaining
- 4:12Speaker 2: according to the movies I've seen, and I like the
- 4:15Speaker 2: idea of a planet of the beavers, I think honestly,
- 4:18Speaker 2: I was taking a walk with the dog. It's going
- 4:20Speaker 2: to be a planet of the ants. They're everywhere, there
- 4:25Speaker 2: are zillions of them. You can't kill them. What's what's
- 4:29Speaker 2: what do they say about the honey badger? Honey badger,
- 4:33Speaker 2: don't give a f or whatever it is? Well, you
- 4:35Speaker 2: want to talk about something that doesn't give an f
- 4:37Speaker 2: Ants ants are fine. They just do their job. The
- 4:41Speaker 2: ants don't get pissed off at social media.
- 4:44Speaker 1: They just build their little hills. Planet of the ants.
- 4:49Speaker 3: We should start saying, fine, let the AI take over,
- 4:52Speaker 3: because that's that's what's gonna take over. And maybe mankind
- 4:55Speaker 3: had their run and we didn't do a good job
- 4:57Speaker 3: and we should be taken over. Maybe yeah, well it
- 5:00Speaker 3: lasted okay. And then finally this before we get out
- 5:02Speaker 3: of here. We've talked about this before this interviews some
- 5:08Speaker 3: people who actually have dealt with it. When you win
- 5:11Speaker 3: a prize on a game show, you immediately get hit
- 5:14Speaker 3: with a bill because most game almost all game shows
- 5:16Speaker 3: are recorded in California, so you got to deal with
- 5:18Speaker 3: California taxes. It's a brand new car on the prices right,
- 5:21Speaker 3: which is on television right in front of me. According
- 5:24Speaker 3: to past participants, when you win the car, immediately they
- 5:28Speaker 3: give you a form to sign and you have to
- 5:31Speaker 3: cut a check for the taxes on the car before
- 5:35Speaker 3: you can get the car. Wow, And it could be
- 5:40Speaker 3: a good chunk of money. And a lot of people
- 5:42Speaker 3: that are participants on those shows. Because you're this sort
- 5:44Speaker 3: of person that can stand in line for hours to
- 5:47Speaker 3: try to get on a stupid game show.
- 5:50Speaker 1: You might not be the most well to do person
- 5:52Speaker 1: to start with. You don't have.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Two to twenty thousand dollars to cut as a check
- 5:59Speaker 3: to pick up your new r V, and so you
- 6:02Speaker 3: just can't and riot a lot of people. I wouldn't
- 6:06Speaker 3: be surprised if it's not the majority. Just work out
- 6:08Speaker 3: some sort of deal. The overall package is this, you
- 6:12Speaker 3: give me this much and you get to keep.
- 6:13Speaker 1: The rest and then they leave.
- 6:15Speaker 6: That's what my friend.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Did You have a friend who did that?
- 6:17Speaker 1: Yeah, they won.
- 6:18Speaker 6: A contest in one of my three or four items
- 6:20Speaker 6: and they ended up keeping like two and then selling
- 6:23Speaker 6: the rest or Yeah, because they couldn't afford the taxes
- 6:25Speaker 6: on them.
- 6:26Speaker 2: You know, I don't think it is your top two
- 6:29Speaker 2: percent of taxpayers that's on the price, is right. I mean,
- 6:31Speaker 2: I'm picturing you know, Jim Jones, come on down, He's
- 6:35Speaker 2: jumping up and down.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Doing the cheerleader thing.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Tell us about yourself, Jim, Well, I'm the CEO of
- 6:40Speaker 2: America Care Hospitals. We've got seventy five facilities in four
- 6:44Speaker 2: different states.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it seems unlikely.
- 6:47Speaker 3: But even if you're even if I could afford it,
- 6:50Speaker 3: I'm on. The price is right, and they announced you
- 6:52Speaker 3: just want a new RV. Now you need to cut
- 6:55Speaker 3: us a check for twenty thousand dollars. I think, well,
- 6:58Speaker 3: I wasn't planning on buying an RV. I really want
- 7:00Speaker 3: an RV. I gotta cut your check for twenty thousand dollars.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Then I've got an RV and I've got to try
- 7:05Speaker 3: to sell it. I guess and come out ahead. But
- 7:08Speaker 3: doesn't seem like a prize.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I don't know if I want to do that.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Well, right, I was thinking of a car, and theoretically,
- 7:15Speaker 2: you know, if you didn't have the cash on hand,
- 7:17Speaker 2: you might be able to borrow the money to pay
- 7:19Speaker 2: the taxes, then sell your car and pay.
- 7:21Speaker 1: The people back. But that's a pain.
- 7:23Speaker 3: In the ass.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Mention, your insurance costs are probably going to be two
- 7:27Speaker 2: and a half times what they were on your old
- 7:29Speaker 2: crab heap got.
- 7:29Speaker 3: The more I think about it, the more pain in
- 7:31Speaker 3: the asster is involved. So I went a car. I
- 7:34Speaker 3: got to cut you a check for the car, and
- 7:36Speaker 3: then it says here you pick it up at the
- 7:38Speaker 3: local dealer.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:39Speaker 3: So now I'm in California on vacation, went to the
- 7:42Speaker 3: price is right. I got to get back to Ohio.
- 7:45Speaker 3: I got this car here? Am I gonna have it transported?
- 7:48Speaker 3: Am I gonna drive it? I had a flight ray.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Just what the hell?
- 7:50Speaker 3: It's all a pain in the ass, every bit of it.
- 7:54Speaker 3: It'd be hard to come out ahead. I can see
- 7:57Speaker 3: how you would end up in a situation where you're
- 7:59Speaker 3: sitting there with your and your wife thinking, let them
- 8:01Speaker 3: cut us a check for eight thousand dollars and we'll
- 8:03Speaker 3: go home.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Oh yeah, one hundred percent.
- 8:06Speaker 4: I wonder if those shows like bank on that. I'm
- 8:08Speaker 4: sure they aren't going to pay for this.
- 8:11Speaker 3: I'm sure they do.
- 8:13Speaker 1: What a lot of the stuff. And you just got
- 8:15Speaker 1: a pair of jet skis? You think I don't jet ski?
- 8:19Speaker 5: What?
- 8:19Speaker 3: Am I gonna cut you a check for three thousand
- 8:21Speaker 3: dollars for a couple of jet skis that I gotta
- 8:23Speaker 3: somehow get from Beverly Hills to Burbank to Ohio.
- 8:27Speaker 1: What the hell a new living room set?
- 8:31Speaker 3: Wow? Cool?
- 8:32Speaker 1: Great?
- 8:33Speaker 3: Um?
- 8:33Speaker 1: All right, like, get it in my house?
- 8:35Speaker 3: How do I get the couch from Burbank to Ohio?
- 8:39Speaker 2: Right, it's a twenty four hundred dollars set. The shipping
- 8:42Speaker 2: will be fifteen thousand dollars. Or we can pay you
- 8:45Speaker 2: five hundred bucks to get the hell out of here
- 8:47Speaker 2: and shut up, Drew, carry your smile, hides your lies.
- 8:52Speaker 3: It's funny that those shows have lasted all these years
- 8:56Speaker 3: with that reality where everybody gets all said, Oh, wouldn't
- 8:59Speaker 3: that be amazing? A washer dryer set? A washer dryer
- 9:02Speaker 3: two two and ten miles from where I live? What
- 9:05Speaker 3: am I gonna do with that?
- 9:06Speaker 6: We need the contestants to speak live on the air
- 9:09Speaker 6: and say, look, I can't use this.
- 9:10Speaker 1: You know exactly?
- 9:13Speaker 3: Yeah, somebody should say more often, so what are the
- 9:14Speaker 3: taxes going to be on that? That's why one of
- 9:16Speaker 3: the reasons mister Beast got so popular. Whenever he gives
- 9:19Speaker 3: you a prize, he pays the taxes, and and or
- 9:22Speaker 3: if it's a physical item, he gets it to your home.
- 9:26Speaker 3: You win a car, he pays the taxes. And he
- 9:27Speaker 3: makes sure it shows up in your driveway. It's not
- 9:30Speaker 3: the scam that Drew Carrey, who's clearly on ozembic does ACD.
- 9:35Speaker 2: By name, but gentleman by nature, mister beast, yes, kiddy.
- 9:39Speaker 4: According to the Internet, they have an NDA for the
- 9:42Speaker 4: price is right, so they can't talk about it. Because
- 9:46Speaker 4: I was just thinking, why don't we hear more about that?
- 9:48Speaker 1: Like, you screw this.
- 9:50Speaker 3: You're right, that's what it is. So they make you
- 9:52Speaker 3: sign an NDA to play it all, and you think,
- 9:54Speaker 3: what do I care? I don't care. I'm not going
- 9:56Speaker 3: to disclose anything. I get to run up there and
- 9:57Speaker 3: jump up and down because I just want a new
- 9:59Speaker 3: high tub that I'm gonna ship to my home. Yeah,
- 10:05Speaker 3: otherwise you'd hear all the time. Nobody, by the way,
- 10:08Speaker 3: nobody gets these prizes. Nobody's claimed a prize the last
- 10:10Speaker 3: fifteen years.
- 10:12Speaker 2: We just catch it kind of a check that wouldn't
- 10:14Speaker 2: impress everybody.
- 10:15Speaker 1: And you leave, all right.
- 10:18Speaker 2: So here's a really controversial question about the game shows.
- 10:21Speaker 2: So I was thinking, I don't know why, but my
- 10:23Speaker 2: mind went to the hotties that you know, show you
- 10:26Speaker 2: the prize package and smile and wear the little costumes
- 10:29Speaker 2: down again, and there have been a couple of harassment
- 10:33Speaker 2: scandals through the years that the host, the big powerful host,
- 10:36Speaker 2: the face of the program, has got a little forward
- 10:40Speaker 2: with the girls, if you I mean, because they have
- 10:43Speaker 2: no skills other than being physically attractive and hot girls
- 10:47Speaker 2: are a diamond dozen if you were to advertise, must
- 10:52Speaker 2: be willing to put up with sexual harassment, not assault, certainly,
- 10:59Speaker 2: sure or anything like that. But the host will regularly
- 11:03Speaker 2: ask you if you'd like to go.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Out sometime.
- 11:08Speaker 2: In a libertarian from a libertarian point of view, shouldn't
- 11:12Speaker 2: that be?
- 11:13Speaker 1: Okay? Absolutely, made expressly clear to them.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Absolutely, and it was more or less expressly clear up
- 11:19Speaker 3: until twenty years ago. Probably this is what you're gonna
- 11:21Speaker 3: have to put up with, and you'd get more people
- 11:24Speaker 3: signing up for that than you could take.
- 11:25Speaker 2: By the way, the host is a generous man. He absolutely,
- 11:28Speaker 2: he's a nice enough fella. He's just a horn dog.
- 11:31Speaker 2: And you know, if you do get together with him,
- 11:33Speaker 2: he'll probably lavish expensive gifts on you and you can
- 11:36Speaker 2: say no, but if he gets tired of it, it's
- 11:39Speaker 2: probably gonna be over just you know, going in.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Okay, So I'm looking up this girl's jumping up and down.
- 11:45Speaker 3: She just won like a dune buggy and some ATV
- 11:51Speaker 3: sort of thing. So like, Okay, I live in suburban Cincinnati.
- 11:55Speaker 3: What am I going to do with this ATV and
- 11:56Speaker 3: a dune buggy? And I got to transport it back
- 11:59Speaker 3: after I cut you a check for several thousand dollars.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Surely they connect you with a local dealer, a local
- 12:06Speaker 1: doune buggy dealer. Oh cool, a dune buggy. Just what
- 12:12Speaker 1: I needed, hey for when I'm on the dunes.
- 12:14Speaker 3: But only after i'd write you a check for three
- 12:17Speaker 3: thousand dollars.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, you're not jumping up and down like you
- 12:21Speaker 1: were before. What's the problem.
- 12:24Speaker 6: All these years we thought the price is right, the
- 12:27Speaker 6: price is wrong.
- 12:27Speaker 1: It's exactly right.
- 12:29Speaker 6: Well, I guess that's it.
