- 0:09Hello and welcome back to another episode of Banter
- 0:11Laurencia. How are you all doing?
- 0:12I hope you're doing great. Now for today's episode I want
- 0:15to talk about you Little Cheer and his church business.
- 0:18So as we all know, we've all watched the BBC documentary
- 0:22Different people, different opinions, divided opinion
- 0:25regarding the motive. White BBC Leader documentary.
- 0:29Some people said that because churches or church is shrinking
- 0:33in Europe and other parts of the world, they want to shrink
- 0:38churches in Africa and in Nigeria.
- 0:41According to them, This is why BBC did what they did.
- 0:45Now we're just still sitting down trying to digest that whole
- 0:48information, digest what we saw on the BBC, disciple, TB,
- 0:55Joshua's disciple and the whole conversation coming out from
- 0:58there. So we're still trying to figure
- 1:00out the way forward. Like a lot of people are saying
- 1:03that mega churches in Nigeria and in Africa do the same thing
- 1:07as the TB Joshua. Just because TB Joshua is the
- 1:12scapegoat now does not make other pastors, you know
- 1:17righteous. According to BBC TV, Joshua's
- 1:20miracles are fake. A lot of people are arguing that
- 1:23even other pastors in Nigeria that miracles are fake.
- 1:26Even some churches are even putting their hands in all these
- 1:30Co scam and all that's coming their congregation.
- 1:33Most of the let's say organised crime or organised like multi
- 1:41level marketing, they are done in churches.
- 1:43And these are people who let's say you go to church, you trust
- 1:46your pastors, you trust your geos or you trust your Deacon
- 1:51and deaconesses or somebody in the church that is well
- 1:55respected. Most times these people scam
- 1:58their members. Less than 1% of these scam are
- 2:01being recorded because most times people say touch not my
- 2:04anointed. They use religion to cover the
- 2:08whole thing. They kind of scare people with
- 2:10all these touch not my anointed beers anyway.
- 2:15Hmm. Allow the how I see Millie
- 2:19decided to join the crew where people are thinking of how to
- 2:22reduce churches where people are thinking of how to make people
- 2:25more spiritual than religious. You led the charge, decided you
- 2:31know I need a slice of this cake.
- 2:32I need to get myself into this churches.
- 2:35Now let me just make something very clear.
- 2:38Church is a business in Nigeria. You have workforce that you
- 2:43don't pay. Let's say you have you start a
- 2:46church. You get people who are literally
- 2:49going to help you view that church, both physically and you
- 2:53know, financially. They are going to go out there,
- 2:57evangelise, win souls. We members ensure that people
- 3:02are paying their tides, ensure that people are giving offering.
- 3:05You're going to have a workforce marketing team for free because
- 3:10according to them, you are doing this for God.
- 3:13You're not doing it for man. So you these people are not
- 3:15being paid. But the pastors, they are
- 3:17getting richer and richer while the congregation most times they
- 3:21can't even like if you don't even pay your tax.
- 3:23Some churches will excommunicate you, you know, from activities
- 3:29and other things. Some of them were actually shame
- 3:32members for not paying tight, for not sowing seed, for not
- 3:37bringing first fruits. So these are the issues.
- 3:43As we all know, you little chase having marital problems,
- 3:46business problems, work problems.
- 3:49Like people are no longer hiring him just because of the the way
- 3:53he's divorced. Not really divorced.
- 3:56The way his marriage played out with me or his responsibility or
- 4:02the way he acted towards that, the the break up of that
- 4:07marriage, now you lead the charge, decided to open up join
- 4:12politics. First of all, he started with
- 4:14politics. He moved his wife in Jelly Judy
- 4:18Austin from Enugu to Abuja and when they moved to Abuja there
- 4:23was chatters that they moved into a house.
- 4:26It was unfurnished. They went to a supermarket in
- 4:28massive supermarket in Abuja and wanted to just take everything
- 4:32for credit while telling them that ohh they're going to give
- 4:36you publicity or advertise your product.
- 4:38The lady literally said no. Like I bought this thing with my
- 4:42money. I'm not looking for an advert so
- 4:45pay what you got. And that was it.
- 4:48So they couldn't pay. That went viral.
- 4:50Nobody addressed it and he was seeking appointment with blamed
- 4:55president Bola Mitsunobu. That did not work out.
- 4:58You literature has been throwing shades here and there even this
- 5:02generally. He called out his ex-wife or
- 5:06ex-wife. His first wife made chilli that
- 5:09did not go down well with people.
- 5:12After that he decided to open his seemingly company.
- 5:15He seemingly company. I think it's a construction kind
- 5:18of company where he gets contract.
- 5:20I don't even know what they do, but he registered the company
- 5:24seemingly and that I think that did not go down.
- 5:27Maybe he was expecting contracts immediately that did not go
- 5:30down. Well now this isn't a minor
- 5:32business thinking OK this guy, let's just ignore you because
- 5:37you are on your Jelly. You just go and live your life
- 5:40live alone. You announce that he's going to
- 5:44make an announcement, that the announcement is going to shake
- 5:47the world. The announcement is going to do
- 5:49this. The announcement is going to do
- 5:50that. We're now sitting and waiting
- 5:52for this announcement. Lo and behold you little chair
- 5:55has started a church. Like I don't even want this
- 6:00salvation ministry or whatever he called the name of that
- 6:02church that he's going to be conducting services every Sunday
- 6:06evening. People are not thinking he would
- 6:10you the way you you committed adultery.
- 6:14You are the last person that will stand on the pool pits to
- 6:19preach to people because you like in terms of Bible, I
- 6:23understand don't judge people or don't you know all those kind of
- 6:27things. But this guy is the last person
- 6:30that should be standing and preaching to people.
- 6:32But on the other hand I believe that maybe because of the
- 6:35experiences that he's he's had he may be able to give advice to
- 6:40young couples getting married because according to the report,
- 6:44he got married to his wife just because she According to him
- 6:48because she got pregnant for their first child and he was
- 6:50forced to marry her. Maybe he has something to give
- 6:54but I don't think he should have been a church.
- 6:56I think maybe he made it a church just because everybody
- 7:01sitting now talking about it now who calling you a daddy?
- 7:05Jio and Jelly which is Judy. Austin.
- 7:08Mommy, Geo. So I think that may be a
- 7:10marketing strategy which has worked, but I don't think
- 7:14whatever message he's trying to pass across should have been
- 7:17under the umbrella of the church.
- 7:19But at the same time, if he's under the umbrella of a church,
- 7:22let's say the business is seemingly he will be paying tax
- 7:26and everything, but churches are exempted from paying tax.
- 7:29So I think this is another way to to stick it to the government
- 7:35and get free workforce because once you start a church, you're
- 7:40going to get different people rattling around you.
- 7:42You're going to get different workforce, you're going to get
- 7:45people who are looking for a purpose.
- 7:48And because his face, I mean you know that she is famous, there
- 7:51are people that ordinarily would not have had access to him.
- 7:55But because he's now a Jew who he is now a pastor and he also
- 7:58looking to build people looking to gain people's trust.
- 8:01He will be accessible to some people and a lot of people are
- 8:05going to take advantage of that and get into he his church.
- 8:10That is a genius marketing strategy.
- 8:12I I I because let's say that company that he's trying to
- 8:17market before he gets start running because he's going to
- 8:19hire people to do the marketing office work and all that.
- 8:24But if he puts that under the umbrella of each church you're
- 8:28going to get free workforce from people who are seeking salvation
- 8:32or people who are looking for something somewhere to belong
- 8:36to. All those people are going to
- 8:38work for free for its seemingly company.
- 8:42In the name of that the working for that the GOP you lady she
- 8:46free workforce Now we learned from TV Joshua that he made the
- 8:51workers to sign that they are voluntary workers.
- 8:54These are people working seven days a week 24 hours a day and
- 8:59he made like for over a decade. He made them sign a document
- 9:04that they are volunteers. These are the issues.
- 9:10Anyway, I wish you literature all the best.
- 9:12I know this is a very smart marketing strategy, but should
- 9:16we joke about the church? Should we joke about God?
- 9:21Should we joke about religion? I don't know.
- 9:25I don't know. All the best to him.
- 9:28And I'll be giving you updates based on his first sermon.
- 9:32Thank you very much for watching today's episode.
