- 0:15Speaker 5: Once again, back is the incredible Billy the Kid.
- 0:18Speaker 6: Live and local.
- 0:20Speaker 4: Billy the Kid.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 0:24Speaker 4: We're doing all right.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Good morning. Welcome to the show. It is Mix 102.9.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez is here. Producer Poo is here.
- 0:33Speaker 2: What a morning we've started off to have.
- 0:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 0:35Speaker 2: It's been a wild one. Candace Lopez just got here
- 0:38Speaker 2: about five minutes ago.
- 0:39Speaker 6: This is unbelievable.
- 0:40Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 0:41Speaker 6: We've been doing this show for three and a half years, right?
- 0:43Speaker 6: This might be the.
- 0:44Speaker 7: Worst start to a morning I've had so far. And listen,
- 0:47Speaker 7: people have worse problems. It could be way worse than this.
- 0:50Speaker 7: But my car is in.
- 0:51Speaker 6: Service, right?
- 0:52Speaker 7: Yesterday, I take it after we leave our big event to.
- 0:56Speaker 6: Give Pooh his new car.
- 0:57Speaker 5: Right.
- 0:58Speaker 6: Take my car to get in service. So they give
- 1:00Speaker 6: me a loaner. I think it's a brand new car.
- 1:02Speaker 6: I don't know. Drive it home.
- 1:03Speaker 2: All good.
- 1:05Speaker 6: My car is electric, right? So when I turn my
- 1:07Speaker 6: car off.
- 1:08Speaker 5: It's off.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:09Speaker 6: The loaner, not electric. The car turns off when I
- 1:13Speaker 6: put it in park, right? But I guess the battery
- 1:15Speaker 6: is still using, you know, energy. So I didn't officially
- 1:19Speaker 6: turn this car off.
- 1:21Speaker 2: No.
- 1:22Speaker 6: The battery is dead when I go out this morning.
- 1:25Speaker 5: Oh.
- 1:26Speaker 6: Completely dead. So, yeah. Exactly. So, I wake my husband, Eric, up.
- 1:32Speaker 6: I'm like, hey, my car's dead. I need to drive
- 1:35Speaker 6: your truck. But you have a full-blown tent popped up
- 1:38Speaker 6: on the top of your truck because y'all are going
- 1:40Speaker 6: camping tomorrow.
- 1:41Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 1:41Speaker 6: And they've been setting it up, you know, getting ready.
- 1:44Speaker 2: It's not funny.
- 1:45Speaker 5: It is.
- 1:46Speaker 6: I'm going to laugh pretty soon.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Oh.
- 1:49Speaker 2: In the meantime, what should we do, cry or just yell?
- 1:51Speaker 6: I've already cried this morning.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I've yelled.
- 1:53Speaker 7: I crumpled up the papers I needed to use this morning.
- 1:56Speaker 7: My laptop, I can't log into my laptop.
- 1:58Speaker 6: This morning either.
- 1:58Speaker 2: What happened with your laptop?
- 2:00Speaker 6: Just the password issues. It's a whole thing.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 2:03Speaker 7: So I've pretty much been at a standstill getting ready
- 2:07Speaker 7: for Texas Top Stories because I would have been fine.
- 2:09Speaker 7: I had plenty of time to do the job that
- 2:11Speaker 7: I came to do.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Should we sound the horn just in case? Because today
- 2:14Speaker 2: feels like it's going to be one of those days.
- 2:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:16Speaker 6: I just can't.
- 2:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:17Speaker 2: All right.
- 2:18Speaker 7: Any grace, patience, good vibes you can send me this morning, like,
- 2:21Speaker 7: please do, because this is absolutely insane.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Everybody send Candace your good vibes. Yeah. And some stories
- 2:29Speaker 2: for Texas Top Stories.
- 2:30Speaker 6: I'm going to make it happen. Trust me. That's what
- 2:32Speaker 6: I do. It might be a little shaky, but we're
- 2:35Speaker 6: going to do it next.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Candace, listen, at least Pooh has a new car. Yeah, exactly.
- 2:38Speaker 6: How is your drive to work?
- 2:39Speaker 2: What else matters? Because he's sitting in this brand new
- 2:42Speaker 2: passport now from Grapevine Honda.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Let me tell you, thanks to y'all, and a new
- 2:49Speaker 4: car hits different.
- 2:50Speaker 2: I feel it.
- 2:51Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 4: It hits different. I was getting looks that I've never
- 2:55Speaker 4: gotten looks before.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Well, I think you're getting the looks because if people
- 2:58Speaker 2: don't know, if you missed it on the story, at
- 3:01Speaker 2: Mix 1029 FM, our big surprise yesterday was that, yes,
- 3:05Speaker 2: we game a brand new car, which is beautiful, but
- 3:09Speaker 2: it's got our faces all over it. It does.
- 3:13Speaker 5: All over it.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Let me tell you, I rode yesterday to my aunt's house.
- 3:16Speaker 2: She stays in South Dallas in the hood or whatever.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I rode through.
- 3:20Speaker 4: She comes out.
- 3:21Speaker 2: She goes, child, I.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Know that ain't Miss Candace and Billy on your car.
- 3:28Speaker 2: A million of our faces.
- 3:30Speaker 6: Right, just plastered all over it. Copy and paste.
- 3:34Speaker 2: My sister was like, bro, Billy. And they're ridiculous pictures, too.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Candace is sticking her tongue out. I'm like, you can't
- 3:41Speaker 2: escape us.
- 3:42Speaker 7: It looks like we went in a photo booth and
- 3:44Speaker 7: just did not care.
- 3:45Speaker 4: Who was going to see this photo.
- 3:47Speaker 2: But the good news is, yeah, you got a new car.
- 3:49Speaker 2: But like I said, the listeners are going to benefit
- 3:51Speaker 2: because everything we do, we want them to benefit. So
- 3:54Speaker 2: now if you see him, you got to tag the car,
- 3:56Speaker 2: take a picture, tag it on Mix 1029 FM, and
- 3:58Speaker 2: you get a chance to win free gas, 500 bucks.
- 4:00Speaker 5: Amazing.
- 4:01Speaker 2: So why not? So it's fun. Yeah, but you get
- 4:02Speaker 2: some funny looks, right?
- 4:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I did. And I want to thank Sergio, Mario,
- 4:06Speaker 4: and everybody over at Grapevine.
- 4:07Speaker 8: Oh, they're awesome.
- 4:09Speaker 2: And guess what, y'all? Your boy might have a date. What?
- 4:12Speaker 3: Already?
- 4:13Speaker 4: That quick?
- 4:14Speaker 3: Wow.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Shout out to.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:16Speaker 4: New cars. New cars hit different. Somebody really wants to
- 4:20Speaker 4: go have some coffee on Saturday.
- 4:22Speaker 8: Oh, no.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Hold on.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I'll tell you. I'll fill you in.
- 4:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Well, fill us in coming up.
- 4:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 2: That's exciting.
- 4:30Speaker 7: That's something for me to look forward to because my
- 4:32Speaker 7: morning's been rough.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yeah, we have a rough morning. You know what? I
- 4:36Speaker 2: can't wait for that then. This is exactly what we needed.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:39Speaker 2: We needed Pooh to be some kind of partner.
- 4:41Speaker 6: He's going to turn my day around.
- 4:42Speaker 2: He's going to turn his life around. We also got
- 4:46Speaker 2: to thank Corey who showed up. We met Corey yesterday.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Corey was awesome, by the way. So, Corey, if you're listening,
- 4:52Speaker 2: he kind of works with Grapevine Honda. And he was
- 4:53Speaker 2: the nicest guy ever. He's been listening for a while. So,
- 4:57Speaker 2: we got to hook him up with something. Oh, yeah.
- 5:00Speaker 4: I chatted with Corey later on that day.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Okay, good. Nice guy. Nicest guy ever. So, shout out
- 5:05Speaker 2: to Corey as we start the show. We got Texas
- 5:07Speaker 2: Top Stories coming up next. Do we, Candace?
- 5:09Speaker 6: Yeah, we do. We do.
- 5:13Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 5:13Speaker 8: She got it.
- 5:14Speaker 4: We'll kick it off and we'll find out.
- 5:16Speaker 2: It's Mix 102.9. Oh, that'll make it worse. Please stop.
- 5:22Speaker 1: It.
- 5:22Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 5:25Speaker 3: Kid in the Morning.
- 5:26Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 5:28Speaker 2: We got a chance to go to Disneyland. Coming up next,
- 5:31Speaker 2: we do it on the 10s pretty much all day,
- 5:33Speaker 2: every hour. So make sure you listen. Have that iHeartRadio
- 5:35Speaker 2: app open and ready. Candice Lopez has had quite a morning.
- 5:39Speaker 2: What is going on over there?
- 5:40Speaker 7: Well, my laptop's not working, but hey, the Cowboys are
- 5:43Speaker 7: back on the field tonight, guys.
- 5:45Speaker 6: Yeah, taking on Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers will be here.
- 5:48Speaker 6: Kickoff is 7-15.
- 5:49Speaker 7: The Bucs are 0-4, so I feel like they're probably
- 5:52Speaker 7: going to be playing their absolute hardest tonight.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Well, yeah. I mean, everybody plays different against the Cowboys.
- 5:58Speaker 6: That's true.
- 5:58Speaker 2: That's the thing. Like Texans, they hadn't won a game.
- 6:01Speaker 2: They fought more than people thought. And then people like, well,
- 6:04Speaker 2: the Cowboys barely beat an 0-3 team. But sometimes these
- 6:06Speaker 2: teams play up because I'm sorry, but we're just different.
- 6:09Speaker 2: People hate the Cowboys.
- 6:10Speaker 6: Yeah, especially when you're coming into our town, our house,
- 6:13Speaker 6: AT & T Stadium, Jerry World. I mean, you're going
- 6:16Speaker 6: to have more energy. Plus, who wants to go 0-5
- 6:18Speaker 6: on this season?
- 6:19Speaker 5: Nobody.
- 6:19Speaker 2: And that worries me.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Right.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I know some team, some people are like hype about
- 6:22Speaker 2: playing an own four team. I'm like, no, cause they
- 6:24Speaker 2: have really, really a lot on the line.
- 6:27Speaker 6: Yeah, no, exactly. You can watch the game tonight on Fox,
- 6:30Speaker 6: by the way. It's our year. We'll see.
- 6:32Speaker 2: It's our year. It's our year.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Come on.
- 6:34Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 6:35Speaker 7: Do you guys want the new baby name trends for 2027?
- 6:37Speaker 6: Is this a list?
- 6:39Speaker 2: Cause you know, I'm in.
- 6:40Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a bit of a list.
- 6:41Speaker 7: So this website name, Barry is predicting odyssey inspired names
- 6:46Speaker 7: and to be popular.
- 6:47Speaker 6: So things like Ajax and Calypso.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I scrubbed the toilet with Ajax.
- 6:52Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, that's right.
- 6:54Speaker 5: Ajax?
- 6:54Speaker 2: How about just Jax?
- 6:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:56Speaker 6: Yeah, that'd be cute.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I like Jax for a girl name, but we're doing Ajax? Ajax,
- 7:00Speaker 2: little Clorox.
- 7:02Speaker 6: Calypso is the other one.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Calypso.
- 7:04Speaker 7: Examples of the Odyssey-inspired names. But after that, World Cup names.
- 7:09Speaker 3: No.
- 7:10Speaker 6: World Cup-inspired.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Yes.
- 7:11Speaker 6: Let me tell you why.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Holland.
- 7:13Speaker 4: FIFA.
- 7:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:16Speaker 6: No, not FIFA.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Little FIFA, Neil.
- 7:18Speaker 7: Holland.
- 7:18Speaker 6: And my son's name, Enzo.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I like Enzo.
- 7:21Speaker 4: I like that.
- 7:21Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Obviously, but Enzo, you know, is not a World Cup name.
- 7:25Speaker 7: Well, the Enzo that they're referring to, I think, was
- 7:27Speaker 7: a little controversial on the Argentina national team.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Okay, gotcha.
- 7:33Speaker 6: But here's some of the other trends.
- 7:34Speaker 7: Name maxing, which is blending two names together. So, like,
- 7:38Speaker 7: Maeve and Avery.
- 7:39Speaker 6: It would be Mavery.
- 7:40Speaker 2: I'm not mad at that.
- 7:41Speaker 6: Yeah, that's kind of fun and creative.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I think Pooh dated a girl with two different names, like,
- 7:45Speaker 2: blended together.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Did you? I'm trying.
- 7:47Speaker 2: He dated a girl one time.
- 7:48Speaker 4: I forget her name, but it was like, Well, I
- 7:51Speaker 4: got a cousin named Aquanetta.
- 7:53Speaker 6: That's right.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Who dated a girl? Her name was like Keisha and Lorraine,
- 7:59Speaker 2: so it was like Keisha Rain or something.
- 8:01Speaker 6: Oh, okay.
- 8:02Speaker 2: It was something. I can't remember what her name was,
- 8:05Speaker 2: but either way, Candace, go ahead.
- 8:06Speaker 7: Some of the other trends are coastal baby names like Clifton, Cove,
- 8:09Speaker 7: and Fisher.
- 8:10Speaker 6: That could be cute.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Cove?
- 8:13Speaker 6: Cove. That's cool.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Like Party Cove in Lake Louisville? Oh, yeah. We named
- 8:18Speaker 2: you Cove because that's where you were conceived. It was
- 8:22Speaker 2: Memorial Day 2026.
- 8:23Speaker 5: Woo!
- 8:25Speaker 2: And we were on a pontoon boat.
- 8:27Speaker 7: Okay.
- 8:28Speaker 6: TMI. Let's just call it TMI. Real quick, guys.
- 8:31Speaker 7: This genealogy website is saying Sidney Sweeney might be related
- 8:36Speaker 7: to one of the most iconic celebrities ever. So they're
- 8:39Speaker 7: going viral for saying Sidney is related to Marilyn Monroe.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Oh, I kind of see it.
- 8:46Speaker 6: I can totally see that now.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Wait a minute. I'm looking like I'm trying to figure out,
- 8:50Speaker 2: you know, because I love Marilyn Monroe.
- 8:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Kind of obsessed with her.
- 8:54Speaker 6: It kind of makes sense.
- 8:55Speaker 7: So this is according to MyHeritage.com. They say that the
- 8:58Speaker 7: two are ninth cousins once removed, which I.
- 9:01Speaker 6: Don't even know what that means.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Listen, I don't know either.
- 9:03Speaker 5: Come on.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:04Speaker 7: Through some ancestor named Ezra Perry, who lived in Sandwich, Massachusetts.
- 9:08Speaker 3: In the 1600s.
- 9:09Speaker 2: You're making this up.
- 9:10Speaker 6: No.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Sandwich, Massachusetts. Sandwich, Massachusetts.
- 9:13Speaker 6: Let me make sure I didn't read that wrong. No,
- 9:15Speaker 6: it's sandwich.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I know you're wonky over there this morning.
- 9:19Speaker 4: I'm from Brisket, Texas.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:22Speaker 6: But that makes sense. So if you're seeing the comparisons
- 9:25Speaker 6: online today, that's why.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I can kind of see it. Like, in a weird way,
- 9:28Speaker 2: I can kind of see. And plus, they're both, like,
- 9:30Speaker 2: they didn't fit the mold of Hollywood.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Meaning, like, I mean, some people, believe it or not,
- 9:35Speaker 2: which is ridiculous to me, consider Sidney Sweeney plus size.
- 9:38Speaker 6: That's insane.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Like, are you insane?
- 9:40Speaker 6: Actually insane.
- 9:41Speaker 2: But people do that.
- 9:42Speaker 6: Well, yeah, if you compare her to someone like Ariana Grande, yeah.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 9:46Speaker 6: So it makes sense.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. But then Marilyn back in the day wasn't,
- 9:49Speaker 2: I mean, you know, to me, like, I love Marilyn because...
- 9:52Speaker 2: she was like a real woman. Yeah. I mean, she
- 9:54Speaker 2: looks like, you know, shaped. She's not all like she
- 9:56Speaker 2: wasn't fake.
- 9:58Speaker 6: She's healthy and normal.
- 9:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Like she's healthy and normal. And she was beautiful.
- 10:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:02Speaker 2: And talented. And, you know, what happened?
- 10:05Speaker 6: No, exactly.
- 10:05Speaker 5: All right.
- 10:06Speaker 6: Well, now, you know, there's a sandwich, Massachusetts.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I've learned.
- 10:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:09Speaker 6: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Feeling a kid candace lopez producer poo is here we

- 10:53Speaker 2: Oh, Joshua.
- 10:53Speaker 3: You actually know me.
- 10:54Speaker 2: I went to Screams with all.
- 10:56Speaker 6: Of y'all for my boyfriend.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Oh, that Wendy.
- 10:58Speaker 6: What's up, Wendy?
- 10:59Speaker 4: What's up, Wendy?
- 11:01Speaker 2: Yeah, we know you. We know Wendy. Troublemaker Wendy.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Yes, just a little bit.

- 11:11Speaker 5: Me too.
- 11:13Speaker 2: The good news is, can you tell Candace any good news?
- 11:15Speaker 2: She's having a rough day. Tell her one good thing
- 11:17Speaker 2: that's going on in your life.
- 11:18Speaker 8: I actually just got a new job offer.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Yay!
- 11:23Speaker 6: Congrats, Wendy!
- 11:24Speaker 2: See, that's good news, Candace.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 11:26Speaker 6: That's exciting.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Are you going to take it or what? Are you
- 11:28Speaker 2: going to say, no, I need more money? What are
- 11:30Speaker 2: you going to do?
- 11:31Speaker 3: No, I am actually going to take it.
- 11:33Speaker 5: Good.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Well, congratulations.
- 11:34Speaker 5: Starting on Monday.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Well, that's awesome. That's good news. Especially going into the holidays,
- 11:38Speaker 2: get some more money, get some stuff going on. I
- 11:40Speaker 2: like that. I like that, Wendy. See, we needed that.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 11:43Speaker 6: You're welcome.
- 11:44Speaker 2: I hope your day gets better, Candace.
- 11:46Speaker 6: Thanks, girl.
- 11:46Speaker 2: She needs that. Hey, Wendy, stay right there so we
- 11:48Speaker 2: can hook you up. Good to talk to you.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Good to talk to y'all.
- 11:51Speaker 5: Hold on.
- 11:51Speaker 2: See, here's the drama with Candace. Now she's trying to
- 11:53Speaker 2: get me. It's not funny. And I'm sorry I'm laughing.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I'm not laughing.
- 11:57Speaker 7: No, I'm going to laugh eventually. I'm just not there yet.
- 12:00Speaker 7: So bear with me.
- 12:01Speaker 2: She's locked out of her computer. But the problem is
- 12:04Speaker 2: with the computer is every time she tries to get
- 12:06Speaker 2: back in it, it locks her out additional minutes.
- 12:09Speaker 6: Like one minute was fine. Cole, you're locked out for
- 12:11Speaker 6: one minute. Now you're locked out for five. Now I'm
- 12:13Speaker 6: locked out for 15 minutes. Oh, God. Apple, is that necessary?
- 12:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it is.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Why?
- 12:20Speaker 2: If you do it again, you're going to be locked out.
- 12:21Speaker 2: I'm going to do the same thing.
- 12:22Speaker 6: In 15 minutes that I've been doing for an hour.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Then it's going to lock you out until Thanksgiving. Go ahead.
- 12:27Speaker 6: I'm going to throw this laptop off the building.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Well, if you do it, let's do it on Instagram Live.
- 12:30Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Okay? I'm just here to help, Candice. I know. Okay,
- 12:35Speaker 2: let's do some real or fake news. That'll make you
- 12:37Speaker 2: feel better.
- 12:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Three headlines. You've got to tell me which one is
- 12:40Speaker 2: the fake story out of the three because the news
- 12:42Speaker 2: is absolutely insane. Headline number one.
- 12:45Speaker 6: I'd know if my laptop were working.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Yeah, you would know, but now you have no idea
- 12:48Speaker 2: what's going on in this world. You have no idea
- 12:50Speaker 2: where you're at. Man returning to Miami from Cuba arrested
- 12:55Speaker 2: with 10 birds in his pants. Okay. Man returning to
- 12:59Speaker 2: Miami from Cuba arrested with 10 birds in his pants.
- 13:03Speaker 2: That is headline number one. Headline number two. Family finds
- 13:06Speaker 2: missing pet tortoise living under neighbor's deck two years after
- 13:09Speaker 2: it disappeared.
- 13:11Speaker 5: Oh.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Family finds missing tortoise living under neighbor's deck two years
- 13:15Speaker 2: after it disappeared. I mean, those tortoises aren't small. They
- 13:20Speaker 2: also don't really need a lot of things.
- 13:21Speaker 4: Right.
- 13:22Speaker 2: That's why they live to like 108. They can do
- 13:24Speaker 2: whatever they want. Headline number three, a drunk woman did
- 13:27Speaker 2: donuts on the lawn of a courthouse. A drunk woman
- 13:32Speaker 2: did donuts on the lawn of a courthouse. You have
- 13:35Speaker 2: three headlines right there. One of them is fake. I
- 13:37Speaker 2: wish they were all fake because then our world might
- 13:40Speaker 2: make a little more sense. Yeah. Well, both of them,
- 13:42Speaker 2: two of them are real. One's fake. Candace, you want
- 13:44Speaker 2: to go first. You want to pass it? Tillapoopoo.
- 13:46Speaker 6: I'm going to pass it to Tillapoopoo.
- 13:48Speaker 5: Good.
- 13:48Speaker 2: He needs to be put on the spot. Let's go
- 13:51Speaker 2: with that last story, a drunk woman doing donuts in
- 13:53Speaker 2: the courthouse. You think that is fake? Yeah, I think
- 13:56Speaker 2: that's fake. You don't think a woman would do that?
- 13:58Speaker 4: No.
- 13:58Speaker 2: You've obviously never been to Garland. All right, you want
- 14:02Speaker 2: to lock that in? Yeah, lock me in. Lock it in.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Candace Lopez. What story do you think is the fake story?
- 14:09Speaker 6: I mean, birds in the pants, tortoise under the neighbor's house,
- 14:12Speaker 6: flip a coin, really.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Really?
- 14:14Speaker 6: Yeah, just lock me in for the bird story.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Bird story.
- 14:17Speaker 2: You want to be locked in. You don't think a
- 14:18Speaker 2: guy's smuggling 10 birds in his crotch. Let's lock it in.
- 14:23Speaker 2: And the winner today is me. Turn them off and
- 14:33Speaker 2: let's go home. Thanks. Nope, yep, the tortoise story is
- 14:38Speaker 2: the fake story. I made that one up. Family finds
- 14:40Speaker 2: missing pet tortoise living under the neighbor's deck. That didn't happen, Candace.
- 14:44Speaker 7: Okay.
- 14:44Speaker 2: But if you won, I'll pretend you won.
- 14:46Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, let's do it.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Oh, and the winner is Candace!
- 14:49Speaker 4: Yay!
- 14:53Speaker 2: Very menopause.
- 14:55Speaker 6: Hey, hey, hey.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Life is great.
- 14:57Speaker 5: See?
- 14:57Speaker 2: Congratulations. Okay, so the real stories are, well, which one
- 15:00Speaker 2: do you want first? You want the drunk woman or the.
- 15:02Speaker 6: Give me the drunk woman.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Okay, this woman who did donuts, and you're like, well,
- 15:06Speaker 2: she did donuts in a parking lot.
- 15:07Speaker 6: That's cool.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Well, yeah, that is cool. That's something Candace would do. No,
- 15:11Speaker 2: she didn't just do it in a parking lot. She
- 15:12Speaker 2: did it on the lawn of a courthouse. And guess
- 15:15Speaker 2: how old she was?
- 15:16Speaker 6: How old?
- 15:16Speaker 2: 67.
- 15:17Speaker 5: No, 52.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Yeah. 63. That's such a specific number.
- 15:23Speaker 5: I know.
- 15:23Speaker 2: She was 67, 6'7. Whoa.
- 15:25Speaker 6: What?
- 15:27Speaker 2: Yeah, she was arrested. This happened in Indiana, believe it
- 15:30Speaker 2: or not, not Florida. She was arrested for a DUI
- 15:33Speaker 2: after she was caught doing donuts in the front lawn
- 15:35Speaker 2: of a courthouse. She tore up the lawn really, really bad,
- 15:38Speaker 2: which is, this is not safe. You should never do that.
- 15:40Speaker 2: You should never drive under the influence, obviously. All of
- 15:44Speaker 2: it was caught under surveillance. Please share the footage with
- 15:47Speaker 2: the caption, if you've had a few too many margaritas
- 15:50Speaker 2: with dinner, please don't get behind the wheel and definitely
- 15:52Speaker 2: don't do donuts on the courthouse lawn. And guess what
- 15:56Speaker 2: her name was? Diane.
- 15:59Speaker 5: No.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Bertha.
- 16:00Speaker 5: Sharon. No.
- 16:02Speaker 6: Karen.
- 16:02Speaker 2: I've never heard of a woman named this doing anything crazy.
- 16:07Speaker 6: What?
- 16:08Speaker 3: Lorraine.
- 16:08Speaker 6: Lorraine. Lorraine.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Her name was Lorraine. Lorraine's don't do anything. Lorraine sounds
- 16:14Speaker 2: like my grandma who's going to make the best biscuits
- 16:16Speaker 2: and gravy I've ever had in my life.
- 16:18Speaker 6: Never known a Lorraine.
- 16:19Speaker 2: You've never known a Lorraine?
- 16:20Speaker 3: No.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Auntie Lorraine?
- 16:21Speaker 5: No.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Have you ever been to a bingo or an Elks Lodge?
- 16:24Speaker 6: Well, that's, no.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Or the VFW?
- 16:26Speaker 2: Or the VFW?
- 16:26Speaker 5: No.
- 16:26Speaker 6: I've got to start going to bingo more.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I mean, there's a lot of Lorraines out there.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Lorraine's serve hot coffee.
- 16:33Speaker 2: And they're so sweet. Lorraine's are sweet. They're not out
- 16:36Speaker 2: here getting arrested and doing stupid stuff. They're having a
- 16:41Speaker 2: good time. They're crocheting. They're complaining to a manager somewhere
- 16:45Speaker 2: at a Tom Thumb. They're not just out here doing donuts. God,
- 16:50Speaker 2: that's what I'm going to be like when I'm 67.
- 16:52Speaker 5: What?
- 16:52Speaker 2: Just being stupid.
- 16:54Speaker 6: Doing donuts or playing bingo?
- 16:55Speaker 2: I won't be drunk driving, but I'll just be doing
- 16:58Speaker 2: donuts sober on a lawn.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Okay.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I just don't want to get old and be boring.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Right.
- 17:03Speaker 2: So I'm going to do crazy stuff. I don't want
- 17:04Speaker 2: to be like 67 and poo.
- 17:07Speaker 4: Oh, no, you didn't. He's not 67.
- 17:09Speaker 6: No.
- 17:10Speaker 4: He's older than that. Oh, no.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Man returning from Miami or from Cuba to Miami arrested
- 17:17Speaker 2: with 10 birds in his pants.
- 17:19Speaker 5: What?
- 17:20Speaker 2: His name was Alberto Hernandez Castillo. He drew attention on
- 17:25Speaker 2: Sunday when agents noticed an unusual bulge in his pants.
- 17:33Speaker 2: You know, you got to ask yourself.
- 17:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:36Speaker 2: I guess this is my job, but if I'm Alberto,
- 17:38Speaker 2: I'm like, what are y'all doing looking at me down there?
- 17:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:41Speaker 6: Well, yeah, but.
- 17:43Speaker 2: But what?
- 17:44Speaker 7: You can see stuff out of your peripheral. You don't
- 17:46Speaker 7: have to be, but they're scanning you anyways.
- 17:48Speaker 2: I've never seen a bulge out of my peripheral.
- 17:50Speaker 6: Well, that's because you've never seen someone with 10 birds
- 17:52Speaker 6: in their pants.
- 17:53Speaker 2: That is true. That is true. I've seen a lot
- 17:55Speaker 2: of stuff in people's pants, but not that. Needless to say,
- 18:00Speaker 2: they were like, hey, Alberto, we need to see you
- 18:02Speaker 2: over here.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Why is everything moving?
- 18:04Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, they're like, not only do you
- 18:06Speaker 2: have a bulge, but it's squeaking. It's making noises. What's
- 18:10Speaker 2: happening over there? So they pull him over into a
- 18:13Speaker 2: private room, and they're like, listen, Alberto, drop your pants.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Alberto's hesitant. He says, no. They're like, we're going to
- 18:21Speaker 2: make you drop your pants, Alberto. Yeah, you got to
- 18:23Speaker 2: do it. Ten birds fly out.
- 18:25Speaker 5: No!
- 18:26Speaker 2: You can't make this up. Yeah. He was like, okay.
- 18:31Speaker 2: And then they asked him why. And he declined to
- 18:34Speaker 2: speak or to answer any more questions. And he invoked
- 18:37Speaker 2: his fifth amendment. And now he's been faces charges of
- 18:40Speaker 2: smuggling goods in the United States.
- 18:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:43Speaker 2: It's not good.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:44Speaker 2: You can't do that. I'm telling you what right now,
- 18:48Speaker 2: getting searched in a private room is no fun.
- 18:51Speaker 6: You've done it.
- 18:51Speaker 2: It's happened to me before going to Canada one time
- 18:54Speaker 2: because my friend's an idiot.
- 18:56Speaker 5: Oh.
- 18:56Speaker 2: And we were going across the border, and they ask you,
- 19:00Speaker 2: you know, what's your residence?
- 19:01Speaker 5: Right.
- 19:02Speaker 2: We were going to Canada from Detroit, going over. They
- 19:05Speaker 2: were like, what's your residence? And everybody just says, U.S., U.S., U.S.
- 19:10Speaker 2: My one friend in the background who was under the
- 19:12Speaker 2: influence of something said, Africa.
- 19:13Speaker 4: Oh.
- 19:16Speaker 2: He's not from Africa.
- 19:17Speaker 6: No.
- 19:17Speaker 2: We got pulled over. We got sent to immigration.
- 19:20Speaker 5: Right.
- 19:20Speaker 2: They smelled something on one of my friends, and they
- 19:23Speaker 2: booty searched all of us.
- 19:24Speaker 5: Oh. Oh.
- 19:26Speaker 2: So we had to go to a room and bend
- 19:29Speaker 2: over and cough. And it was the second worst day
- 19:32Speaker 2: of my life. I don't even know. No, actually, it
- 19:34Speaker 2: was the worst day of my life.
- 19:36Speaker 4: It better be.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Having a grown man all in your business looking at stuff.
- 19:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 2: And then they found nothing. And then he's like, okay, well,
- 19:43Speaker 2: go ahead into Canada. Have a good time. We're like, no,
- 19:45Speaker 2: we're going back to America now. You can't just go
- 19:48Speaker 2: on with your day.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:50Speaker 2: After you just spread your cheeks yeah on a Tuesday.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Yeah we can't even do this on a Friday.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Night That's the Mix 102.9.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Got another chance to go to Disney. Disneyland on us.
- 20:04Speaker 2: A little trip. Have that iHeartRadio app ready. Get it.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Open it. That's how you can win. We'll do it
- 20:08Speaker 2: on the 10s all day. So 7-10. Another shot on
- 20:11Speaker 2: Mix 102.9. Hopefully having a good morning so far. It's
- 20:14Speaker 2: Bailey the Kid. Candice Lopez is here. Barely. Producer Poo
- 20:17Speaker 2: is here. Candice, having a morning. Did you just lock
- 20:19Speaker 2: you out again? Your computer locked out again?
- 20:21Speaker 6: I haven't tried because it put me out for 15 minutes.
- 20:24Speaker 6: This is a four-hour show.
- 20:25Speaker 7: I don't have time to get locked out of my
- 20:27Speaker 7: computer 15 minutes.
- 20:28Speaker 4: At a time.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Time out. Well, we're filling your head with good news.
- 20:31Speaker 2: And some of the good news is yesterday we surprised
- 20:33Speaker 2: Poo with a brand new car. Yes! Which was so
- 20:37Speaker 2: much fun. And I got to ask Poo because I
- 20:40Speaker 2: think he was so nervous about it because he thought, well,
- 20:42Speaker 2: I got you a car. Grapevine Honda got your car,
- 20:45Speaker 2: but there's a catch, and he thought it was going
- 20:46Speaker 2: to be a Hot Wheels. He thought it was going
- 20:47Speaker 2: to be something. But did I lie? No, you didn't lie.
- 20:50Speaker 2: There you go.
- 20:51Speaker 4: But I'm telling you, because I'm used to you pranking me.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Well, I did prank you a little bit.
- 20:56Speaker 4: Billy just doesn't give you ordinary pranks.
- 20:59Speaker 2: No.
- 20:59Speaker 4: He goes all out.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Well, I want to go all out, but I also
- 21:02Speaker 2: don't want to lie and say I got you a
- 21:03Speaker 2: new car, and it's not a new car.
- 21:05Speaker 5: Right. Of course, of course.
- 21:06Speaker 2: So Candice and I kind of helped plan this, along
- 21:08Speaker 2: with the help of Zan and Grapevine Honda.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:11Speaker 2: And we kind of threw a little surprise in there.
- 21:14Speaker 2: And the surprise was, if you missed it, it was...
- 21:16Speaker 2: A brand new Passport, which I'm going to tell you
- 21:18Speaker 2: right now, that car is beautiful. It is. I just
- 21:22Speaker 2: didn't know what to expect because I've never been in
- 21:23Speaker 2: a Passport. It feels like a luxury vehicle.
- 21:27Speaker 6: There's so much legroom in the back.
- 21:29Speaker 2: It's kind of like a wireless charger. You need a poober.
- 21:33Speaker 5: Yes.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Well, that's another thing is we've gotten some great names.
- 21:36Speaker 2: What are we going to name the car? Right. So
- 21:38Speaker 2: either way, you love it. But the surprise was that
- 21:41Speaker 2: we wrapped it with our faces all over it.
- 21:46Speaker 6: It's awesome.
- 21:47Speaker 2: So now Pooh's driving around in a car and a
- 21:49Speaker 2: brand new beautiful passport with my face on it, with
- 21:51Speaker 2: Candace's face on it. Yeah. And his own face on it.
- 21:55Speaker 2: And that is thanks to the wrapping company who did it.
- 21:58Speaker 2: It's D-Sign, right? Yeah, D-Sign Co. Yeah, D-Sign Co. Vivian
- 22:02Speaker 2: is awesome.
- 22:02Speaker 4: She is.
- 22:03Speaker 2: So her team did an awesome, incredible job. They're in Carrollton.
- 22:07Speaker 6: Yes, she said they had a blast.
- 22:08Speaker 7: This was one of their favorite cars to wrap ever.
- 22:11Speaker 2: But they also said they were overseeing our faces. True. Sorry, guys.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Thank you to Vivian and the team over there. They
- 22:17Speaker 2: did such a good job. But who do you like
- 22:20Speaker 2: the car? I love it.
- 22:21Speaker 8: I love it.
- 22:22Speaker 4: I've been just driving nonstop. Went and visited family yesterday.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Did a whole bunch of stuff. It looks great.
- 22:28Speaker 2: And I'm a little biased. But the funny part is
- 22:31Speaker 2: I wanted to put our pictures on it, but I
- 22:33Speaker 2: wanted like real pictures. I didn't want cartoons. I didn't want.
- 22:36Speaker 6: AI.
- 22:37Speaker 2: AI. I wanted just our real faces. Oh, it's real.
- 22:40Speaker 3: It's real. It's really real.
- 22:42Speaker 2: I'm like, dang, they could at least Photoshop this blemish
- 22:46Speaker 2: I have on my face.
- 22:47Speaker 6: The Paris filter would have been real nice.
- 22:49Speaker 2: But it's us. So if you see it.
- 22:50Speaker 4: My teeth and everything. I got to miss it, too.
- 22:54Speaker 2: If you see it out and about, take a picture
- 22:57Speaker 2: and tag, and you get a chance to win $ 500
- 23:00Speaker 2: in free gas. So thank you to Grapevine Honda. That
- 23:03Speaker 2: was a lot, a lot of fun. And we met
- 23:04Speaker 2: some cool people. And then Candace, Pooh comes in today
- 23:07Speaker 2: and he's like, it might already help my love life.
- 23:10Speaker 6: That's amazing.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Wait, now how would the car help your love life? Well,
- 23:15Speaker 2: you saw what I used to drive, right?
- 23:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:19Speaker 2: A new car is a confidence booster. It is. That
- 23:21Speaker 2: is true. It must be something in the water.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Are we getting an update on Pooh's love life? Yeah,
- 23:30Speaker 4: let me preface this. I've known this girl for a
- 23:32Speaker 4: long time. I've known her. And actually, y'all have met
- 23:36Speaker 4: her a long, long time ago. That's all I'm going
- 23:39Speaker 4: to say.
- 23:40Speaker 2: You don't want to say who it is?
- 23:41Speaker 4: No, I'm not going to say anything.
- 23:42Speaker 2: So did she reach out to you? Give us the backstory.
- 23:44Speaker 2: So here's what happened. Her birthday was Tuesday. And you
- 23:48Speaker 2: hit her up and said, girl, that's a happy birthday. Nonchalant.
- 23:51Speaker 2: She was like, oh, thank you, blah, blah, blah. And
- 23:54Speaker 2: then blah, blah, blah.
- 23:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:55Speaker 4: And then yesterday she hit me up and she was like,
- 23:59Speaker 4: nice car.
- 24:00Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, thank you.
- 24:01Speaker 4: She goes, handsome driver.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Wink, wink. And I was like, you know what? I
- 24:07Speaker 2: might as well just shoot my shot. You did it.
- 24:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:09Speaker 4: And I said, hey, you know what? Let's grab a
- 24:12Speaker 4: drink or some lunch or something. She was like, keep
- 24:15Speaker 4: it cash.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Yeah, keep it cash. She goes, how about coffee? And
- 24:19Speaker 2: I was like, I don't know how I feel.
- 24:20Speaker 6: You probably heard our conversation yesterday.
- 24:22Speaker 2: What did she say?
- 24:23Speaker 7: We were talking about coffee dates, and I said, just
- 24:26Speaker 7: go on coffee dates.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Yeah, remember? Oh, yes.
- 24:28Speaker 4: She's invested. She's invested. She's a good listener. Yeah, so
- 24:32Speaker 4: she was like, how about coffee Saturday?
- 24:34Speaker 2: Saturday? Yeah, so we're going to go. Morning? Yeah, Saturday morning.
- 24:38Speaker 4: Yeah, we can't do it.
- 24:39Speaker 5: Okay.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Well, can you have coffee in the afternoon?
- 24:41Speaker 6: Yeah, you can have coffee all day.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Yeah, coffee dates happen. But a big trend that's going
- 24:46Speaker 2: on right now is breakfast dates. Yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 5: Smart.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Smart.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Which is weird to me.
- 24:49Speaker 5: Yeah, it is.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I don't want to go on a breakfast date.
- 24:51Speaker 6: Oh, it sounds awesome. Yeah, y'all should.
- 24:54Speaker 2: See you at 9 a.m. at Denny's? No thanks.
- 24:56Speaker 6: Well, you don't have to go to Denny's if you
- 24:57Speaker 6: don't want.
- 24:58Speaker 4: So where are you going to go? I'm a savage
- 24:59Speaker 4: when I eat my pancakes, and I really don't want my... Yeah,
- 25:01Speaker 4: don't eat in front of her on the first date.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Please, Billy.
- 25:03Speaker 5: No.
- 25:04Speaker 7: Please.
- 25:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:05Speaker 2: So where are you thinking about going? What are you
- 25:06Speaker 2: going to do? You can't just go to an average place. Yeah,
- 25:08Speaker 2: I can't go to Starbucks.
- 25:09Speaker 4: I was going to ask, you know, Candace or you, Billy,
- 25:13Speaker 4: what's a bougie coffee place?
- 25:15Speaker 6: La La Land.
- 25:16Speaker 2: La La Land.
- 25:16Speaker 6: You could go to Merritt.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Summer Moon.
- 25:18Speaker 6: Yeah, summer mood.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Oh, I love summer mood. Yeah, a little, you know,
- 25:22Speaker 2: kind of cozy spot.
- 25:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:23Speaker 3: For sure.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Or do you just keep it? Just whatever.
- 25:26Speaker 4: I want to keep it super cash, super generic. You know,
- 25:29Speaker 4: I got to fill her out.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Because I love, like, just keep it cash. Go to
- 25:32Speaker 2: Dutch Bros.
- 25:34Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Sit on the patio in the morning.
- 25:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 2: You don't like that?
- 25:37Speaker 7: You tell me where she lives off the air, and
- 25:39Speaker 7: then I'll look up some good coffee shops for you.
- 25:41Speaker 5: Okay, okay.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Yeah, because that's my jam.
- 25:43Speaker 4: I mean, I got a new car I'm willing to
- 25:44Speaker 4: drive to.
- 25:44Speaker 5: Her, King.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Oh, you're driving to her? Yeah, I always drive to
- 25:47Speaker 2: her area. Yeah.
- 25:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:48Speaker 2: So go down to Lou Starrett.
- 25:50Speaker 5: No.
- 25:50Speaker 4: And then pick her up.
- 25:52Speaker 8: Oh, my gosh.
- 25:53Speaker 6: Make sure she gets a good, nice latte of her choice.
- 25:55Speaker 5: Yeah. Okay.
- 25:56Speaker 6: Maybe a lavender latte.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Yeah. Suggest something. Yeah.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:01Speaker 6: Cereal milk latte.
- 26:02Speaker 5: Okay.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Like, we're going up to the counter. Suggest something I
- 26:04Speaker 2: should get, Pooh. Well, you know what, girl?
- 26:06Speaker 4: Yeah. Usually, I get a skinny vanilla latte with oat milk.
- 26:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:12Speaker 2: I'm copying your drink, by the way, Billy. I know
- 26:14Speaker 2: you know that. What should I get? What are you into?
- 26:18Speaker 2: Are you into, like.
- 26:19Speaker 4: I like dark coffee. Oh, well, you like dark coffee. Apparently,
- 26:24Speaker 4: you went out with me.
- 26:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:28Speaker 2: What about a nitro brew? I don't know what that is. Oh.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Order it for me, babe.
- 26:33Speaker 5: Oh.
- 26:33Speaker 6: Oh, whoa.
- 26:34Speaker 4: She's already called me babe.
- 26:35Speaker 3: That's it.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Oh.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Top stories on the 10s with Billy the Kid in
- 26:40Speaker 3: the morning.
- 26:41Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Got a chance to go to Disneyland. Coming up next,
- 26:46Speaker 2: get that iHeartRadio app open and ready to win. We
- 26:49Speaker 2: do it on the 10s all day. Candace Lopez has
- 26:51Speaker 2: had a shaky morning, but she's holding it together. She's
- 26:53Speaker 2: holding it down. What you got going on?
- 26:55Speaker 7: Well, I'm still not in my laptop, but I can
- 26:56Speaker 7: tell you that the FAA says an American Airlines flight
- 27:00Speaker 7: from Madrid to Dallas was forced to divert to New
- 27:03Speaker 7: York after six.
- 27:04Speaker 6: Of eight toilets stopped working.
- 27:06Speaker 5: Oh.
- 27:06Speaker 6: Oh, what a nightmare. So this happened Tuesday.
- 27:10Speaker 7: They had nearly 300 people on board this 10 hour flight.
- 27:14Speaker 7: I guess the pilot told the air traffic control we
- 27:16Speaker 7: have only two potties operating on American 37.
- 27:19Speaker 6: That's a problem. Huge problem.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Yeah, especially like that's why the one place I hate
- 27:24Speaker 2: sitting in an airplane is by the bathrooms or the laboratory.
- 27:27Speaker 6: Because people line up right there.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Yeah, people line up and there's just been there standing
- 27:31Speaker 2: over you.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Right.
- 27:33Speaker 2: You know, and it's like, you know, they're looking at
- 27:34Speaker 2: what you're doing and they're staring at you. Then sometimes
- 27:36Speaker 2: they try to talk to you. And then there's obviously
- 27:38Speaker 2: there's just sense and stuff that come out of that place.
- 27:40Speaker 6: Sounds and sense.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:41Speaker 7: And when you're standing there, it's hard not to just
- 27:43Speaker 7: be like, what's on that iPad?
- 27:44Speaker 5: Right.
- 27:45Speaker 6: What are you working on?
- 27:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:46Speaker 2: No, if I'm standing waiting in line, I'm looking at
- 27:48Speaker 2: everything going on.
- 27:48Speaker 5: Sure. For sure.
- 27:50Speaker 8: I guess.
- 27:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:51Speaker 7: They usually have eight bathrooms on this. The flight was
- 27:53Speaker 7: grounded yesterday. in New York for more than three hours
- 27:56Speaker 7: before it continued on to Dallas. We do have our
- 27:59Speaker 7: first Atlantic hurricane this year, Isaias.
- 28:03Speaker 6: This is getting close to the.
- 28:05Speaker 7: Gulf Coast, is expected to gain strength through today. They're
- 28:08Speaker 7: saying winds could be over 100 miles per hour. It
- 28:11Speaker 7: should make landfall somewhere between New Orleans and Panama City
- 28:14Speaker 7: between tonight and early Saturday morning. We were just talking
- 28:17Speaker 7: about how The Atlantic has been so calm this hurricane season.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Yeah, there's been none. So it looks like it's coming
- 28:23Speaker 2: straight up.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:25Speaker 2: So it's not like curving off to us or curving
- 28:27Speaker 2: off to anybody else. It looks like it's coming straight
- 28:29Speaker 2: up through New Orleans, which is scary because... Yeah, that's
- 28:32Speaker 2: not what they need. Not what anybody needs. Definitely not
- 28:35Speaker 2: what they need. And then it's going straight up and
- 28:36Speaker 2: it's just going to probably turn into a tropical storm.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:39Speaker 7: So heads up, if you have any plans to travel
- 28:41Speaker 7: over there, I know a lot of kids are going
- 28:42Speaker 7: to be on.
- 28:42Speaker 6: Fall break over the next couple of days.
- 28:45Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 28:45Speaker 7: Pay attention to that because the hurricane warnings are from
- 28:48Speaker 7: Mississippi to Florida.
- 28:50Speaker 6: Listen to this.
- 28:51Speaker 7: So Amazon, I guess they rolled out a new about
- 28:53Speaker 7: you feature, which basically shows shoppers assumptions they're making about
- 28:58Speaker 7: you based on what you've purchased.
- 29:00Speaker 6: Before on Amazon.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Yes, I saw this.
- 29:03Speaker 7: Yeah, so I guess any conversations you have with Alexa, reviews,
- 29:06Speaker 7: or other activities. So they say it's going to improve
- 29:09Speaker 7: personalized recommendations, but some people are.
- 29:12Speaker 6: Like, this is way too specific. It's way too awkward. Like,
- 29:15Speaker 6: one lady was like, it knows I have a flat butt.
- 29:19Speaker 5: Hey.
- 29:20Speaker 6: Yeah. Her profile said she has, quote, flat buttocks.
- 29:24Speaker 5: What?
- 29:25Speaker 4: Wow. Yeah.
- 29:26Speaker 2: That's what mine says, too, then.
- 29:28Speaker 7: It might be if you've looked at those, like, you know,
- 29:31Speaker 7: pants with the padding or whatever before in your Amazon.
- 29:34Speaker 2: No, they pop up on my Amazon. That's what I'm saying.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Oh.
- 29:37Speaker 2: I have a flat. I mean, listen, I've had flat.
- 29:40Speaker 2: FBS for a while. Flat butt syndrome.
- 29:41Speaker 6: You've suffered for a long time.
- 29:43Speaker 2: I've suffered for a long time.
- 29:44Speaker 4: Speak on it.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Speak on it. Listen, I'm not the only one, you know,
- 29:47Speaker 2: and for just 90 cents a day, you can help me.
- 29:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:50Speaker 7: Well, you can actually edit the information if, you know,
- 29:53Speaker 7: Amazon gets something wrong or, like, your preference has changed.
- 29:57Speaker 7: The feature's available through the Amazon app, mobile site, and desktop. But, yeah,
- 30:01Speaker 7: just imagine you're shopping around and it's suggesting, you know,
- 30:04Speaker 7: things for you based on what you've bought.
- 30:07Speaker 2: It does. I kind of like it, though. I kind
- 30:09Speaker 2: of like that it does. Yeah, because I want to
- 30:11Speaker 2: see what it thinks I need. Okay. Yeah, is it offensive? Cool,
- 30:14Speaker 2: but I can take it. I got thick skin. If
- 30:16Speaker 2: you tell me I need some booty pads... Then I
- 30:19Speaker 2: probably do.
- 30:20Speaker 6: Well, there you go. Add to cart.
- 30:21Speaker 5: All right. Yeah.
- 30:22Speaker 6: All right. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas top stories.
- 30:25Speaker 6: The new Mix 102.9.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Got Dirty Little Secret coming up next. It's Mix 102.9.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Ability Kid, Candace Lopez. Pooh is here. Life is already
- 30:35Speaker 2: turning around for Pooh. Look at this. We surprise him
- 30:37Speaker 2: with a brand new car. Thanks to Grapevine Honda. And
- 30:40Speaker 2: guess what? He's already got a date.
- 30:42Speaker 6: Amazing.
- 30:43Speaker 2: The suggestions are coming in. He's got a date. He
- 30:45Speaker 2: didn't want to pick up a girl. Even if he
- 30:47Speaker 2: met a girl, he didn't want to meet a girl
- 30:48Speaker 2: in his other car, which it was a little shaky.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:51Speaker 2: But, you know, it had character. That's for sure. But
- 30:55Speaker 2: this passport that he's got is beautiful now. But he's
- 30:57Speaker 2: going to do a coffee date with this girl that
- 30:59Speaker 2: he's known for a while. He won't tell us who
- 31:00Speaker 2: it is, but that's okay.
- 31:02Speaker 6: Okay, yeah.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I'm just happy that he's going to meet somebody.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Me too.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Confident enough to roll up in a car with our
- 31:08Speaker 2: faces on it, which that was the catch. If you
- 31:12Speaker 2: missed the catch, which it's fine. I mean, hey, he
- 31:15Speaker 2: loves us. So I'm like, you want custom. It's a
- 31:18Speaker 2: one of one. Limited edition, that's what I say.
- 31:21Speaker 4: You don't see us enough, Pooh.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Now, Victor, right, Victor has a suggestion of where you
- 31:25Speaker 2: should take her for the coffee or whatever, right? Where?
- 31:27Speaker 8: A venue called Cars and Coffee.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, Cars and Coffee.
- 31:31Speaker 5: And it happens once a month. Yeah. And there's two
- 31:34Speaker 5: cafes next to it and a Starbucks and a Hutchins Barbecue.
- 31:39Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Then you go to Hutchins.
- 31:41Speaker 8: Right there in Southlake, yeah.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Okay, Poo, drive to Southlake. Take him to Southlake. Let's
- 31:44Speaker 2: get fancy. So I'm going to have coffee and barbecue?
- 31:47Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and display his car. And display your car.
- 31:51Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 31:51Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. Show off your car. What's wrong
- 31:54Speaker 2: with you?
- 31:54Speaker 6: Show off the passport at Cars and Coffee?
- 31:55Speaker 5: Yes.
- 31:55Speaker 2: That's different. Yeah, I like it.
- 31:58Speaker 5: What a lick.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Bunch of Ferraris, Corvettes. Who needs a Ferrari?
- 32:02Speaker 2: First of all, somebody suggested online we call it a Pugatti. Oh.
- 32:09Speaker 6: I like it.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I like it. Victor, you're the best. Thank you for
- 32:12Speaker 2: the suggestion, man. We appreciate it and have.
- 32:14Speaker 4: A good day.
- 32:15Speaker 5: Okay. All right. You too. Appreciate you guys.
- 32:17Speaker 2: See you, Victor. You too, brother. Callie did. Callie. That's right.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Callie Michelle. She said, call it a Pugatti.
- 32:23Speaker 6: That's perfect.
- 32:25Speaker 8: We'll let you.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Think about it, but I think Pugatti is a good
- 32:27Speaker 2: name that we can name the car. I'm sold on
- 32:29Speaker 2: Somebody else said Poo Force.
- 32:31Speaker 4: 1, which has always.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Been one of my favorites. Well, keep the suggestions coming
- 32:35Speaker 2: at Mix 1029 FM. And if you missed the reveal,
- 32:38Speaker 2: we streamed it live, but you could see it on
- 32:39Speaker 2: our Instagram as well. But it was fun.
- 32:42Speaker 7: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 32:44Speaker 7: morning on Mix 102.9.
- 32:45Speaker 6: Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 32:47Speaker 2: By the way, Pooh not riding dirty, though. I think
- 32:50Speaker 2: he's got insurance and everything.
- 32:51Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 32:52Speaker 2: So I know Grapevine Honda had to make sure that happened.
- 32:54Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 32:55Speaker 4: Fully covered.
- 32:55Speaker 2: With his new car. I know.
- 32:57Speaker 8: Fully covered.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Look at you.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Not just liability.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Not Pooh-ability.
- 33:02Speaker 4: He's got full coverage.
- 33:04Speaker 5: All right.
- 33:05Speaker 2: It's Mix 102.9, Dirty Little Secret time. It's Billy the Kid,
- 33:08Speaker 2: Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh. Thank you for having us on.
- 33:10Speaker 2: This morning. Okay. And another shot to go to Disneyland
- 33:13Speaker 2: at 810. Heads up on that. Have the iHeartRadio app
- 33:16Speaker 2: ready to roll. We do it on the 10s all day. Now,
- 33:18Speaker 2: if you've got a secret, you've got a confession, it
- 33:20Speaker 2: just feels good to get it off your chest. Call
- 33:22Speaker 2: us anytime you want at 833.
- 33:24Speaker 5: 787-1029.
- 33:25Speaker 2: No matter what the secret is, big or little, you
- 33:27Speaker 2: got one.
- 33:29Speaker 8: Okay. I already know how it's going to sound.
- 33:32Speaker 5: I'm going to sound like a horrible person when I
- 33:34Speaker 5: say it, but I have two kids, and one of
- 33:37Speaker 5: them is great. She's amazing, does everything, got a great job,
- 33:44Speaker 5: is driven. She's a responsible, great person. human being okay
- 33:49Speaker 5: but my son is uh for lack of a better
- 33:52Speaker 5: word like my son's kind.
- 33:54Speaker 8: Of a loser hold on.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Hold on dad you can't do it like that.
- 34:01Speaker 5: I don't know why i didn't expect that i didn't
- 34:03Speaker 5: do him like that he did himself like that i know.
- 34:05Speaker 2: But why do you say that yeah what do you
- 34:07Speaker 2: mean he's a.
- 34:07Speaker 5: Loser So, OK, so like we've raised them the same
- 34:13Speaker 5: in the same house with same values and work ethic.
- 34:16Speaker 5: And my daughter did all that. But my son, like
- 34:19Speaker 5: he dropped out of college. He's just right now he's living.
- 34:22Speaker 5: He's still at home with us now. Oh, like he
- 34:26Speaker 5: just stays in his room and plays video games most
- 34:28Speaker 5: of the time. He doesn't have a job. Maybe he
- 34:31Speaker 5: goes out with his friends.
- 34:33Speaker 8: You know what I mean? Like he's like he's living
- 34:35Speaker 8: a loser lifestyle.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Okay, so he's going through a phase right now. How
- 34:41Speaker 2: old did you say he was? He was 19? 19, 19.
- 34:43Speaker 8: And that's what my wife says.
- 34:46Speaker 5: He's going through a phase. No, see, that sounds like
- 34:48Speaker 5: what my wife says. And I don't, like, I feel
- 34:51Speaker 5: like that's the problem is that, like.
- 34:54Speaker 8: he's not being.
- 34:56Speaker 5: Forced and every time i try to my wife is
- 34:59Speaker 5: like no no he's he's mental health he's going through
- 35:03Speaker 5: a phase he needs to you need to be easy
- 35:05Speaker 5: on him i'm like well at what point will he
- 35:08Speaker 5: have to take responsibility yeah like.
- 35:10Speaker 7: I did a lot though that a lot of people
- 35:12Speaker 7: this age yeah are struggling mentally okay well things are
- 35:16Speaker 7: harder than they realize or they weren't prepared.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I mean they But I'm trying to look back, and
- 35:20Speaker 2: I mean, things weren't easy for me when I was 19.
- 35:22Speaker 2: I mean, we didn't have it easy. It was tough
- 35:25Speaker 2: back then, too. I think every generation faces its challenges.
- 35:28Speaker 2: For sure. I was out the house at 17. I left. Yeah,
- 35:31Speaker 2: you were in jail.
- 35:32Speaker 4: No, not then.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Oh, never mind. Okay, so, but this is obviously causing
- 35:39Speaker 2: friction between you and your son, but it sounds like
- 35:40Speaker 2: it might be... causing some friction between you and your
- 35:43Speaker 2: wife yeah well i mean.
- 35:44Speaker 5: She babies him like i'm trying my best to like
- 35:47Speaker 5: be a good dad and and be responsible and teach
- 35:52Speaker 5: them life lessons and help them grow to be adults
- 35:55Speaker 5: that you know can function in society but my wife
- 35:58Speaker 5: is like she babies them you know he needs time
- 36:01Speaker 5: uh to grow you know like in fact and say
- 36:04Speaker 5: how much.
- 36:04Speaker 8: Time does does he need right how many times does
- 36:06Speaker 8: he need.
- 36:06Speaker 5: To figure it figure this out yeah but.
- 36:08Speaker 7: A lot of people think oh my kid turned 18
- 36:10Speaker 7: they're ready they're just their brains aren't fully developed we
- 36:13Speaker 7: just push them out like hey you're 18 now bye yeah.
- 36:16Speaker 2: But how old are they i'm not trying to push
- 36:18Speaker 2: them out yeah but you got to do something i'm
- 36:19Speaker 2: not trying to.
- 36:20Speaker 6: Push them out yeah i mean you can't let him
- 36:21Speaker 6: not be motivated.
- 36:22Speaker 4: Here's the deal 19 turns into 21 then turns into
- 36:25Speaker 4: 30 right if you keep babying them it can i
- 36:28Speaker 4: see what this guy is going through.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Like Enzo, your son, Candace, I have a feeling like
- 36:33Speaker 2: obviously he's going to be a successful kid. Of course.
- 36:36Speaker 2: But if he wasn't, you're going to be like, baby,
- 36:39Speaker 2: come here. Mommy's got you.
- 36:40Speaker 7: I'm always going to have his back, but I'm going
- 36:42Speaker 7: to push him to be motivated and try to help
- 36:44Speaker 7: him through whatever he's going through so that he can
- 36:47Speaker 7: be self-motivated.
- 36:48Speaker 2: And I believe that. But I think that sometimes people
- 36:50Speaker 2: do that differently. And I think, you know, you're like
- 36:52Speaker 2: you got to do something. And obviously you and wife,
- 36:55Speaker 2: you're not on the same page. I have a feeling
- 36:57Speaker 2: you were probably raised way differently.
- 36:59Speaker 5: My dad would have kicked me out of the house
- 37:01Speaker 5: if I was doing this kind of stuff. I would
- 37:03Speaker 5: have hated him for it, but I would have also
- 37:04Speaker 5: figured it out. And I would have eventually understood that, oh, right.
- 37:10Speaker 5: I was messing up. I was the one that was
- 37:12Speaker 5: being lazy. Like I would have figured that part out.
- 37:15Speaker 8: And I feel like my wife won't let him.
- 37:16Speaker 5: Like I'm literally I'm really close to being like, hey,
- 37:20Speaker 5: he gets a job and contributes or he's got to go.
- 37:22Speaker 7: Yeah, no, I think he does need to be in
- 37:24Speaker 7: the workplace at some level. You can't just sit home
- 37:26Speaker 7: and play video games.
- 37:27Speaker 2: He ain't lying.
- 37:28Speaker 4: You wake up and then you go by his room
- 37:30Speaker 4: and all he's doing is in there, fire mission, talking
- 37:33Speaker 4: to everybody online.
- 37:34Speaker 6: Yeah, that's not okay.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I ain't trying to hear that. My son is
- 37:36Speaker 2: only 15, so I'm not dealing with this yet. But
- 37:38Speaker 2: at the same time, I've had a roommate back in
- 37:40Speaker 2: the day where I was working my butt off. And
- 37:43Speaker 2: grinding and just doing everything I could to hustle. And
- 37:46Speaker 2: I watched this roommate just be lazy and complain. And
- 37:50Speaker 2: I started to build resentment. I was like, I'm out
- 37:52Speaker 2: here doing my thing, hustling and trying to everything I can.
- 37:55Speaker 2: So I don't want to hear it from you. You're
- 37:57Speaker 2: watching people's court all day. I'm jealous.
- 38:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:02Speaker 2: But so you and your wife, you're like, you know,
- 38:05Speaker 2: you're at odds right now.
- 38:07Speaker 5: Yes, because she's like, he's going through a lot right now.
- 38:10Speaker 5: And I'm like, no, he's not going through a lot
- 38:12Speaker 5: because he's not working. When you work, you go through
- 38:14Speaker 5: a lot. He's not. He's just being at home. So
- 38:17Speaker 5: I like I feel like that's my like I'm at
- 38:19Speaker 5: my limit. Either he goes or like they can live together.
- 38:23Speaker 8: Maybe I'll go figure something out.
- 38:27Speaker 2: See, ultimatums are weird, though. Like, if you tell her that,
- 38:29Speaker 2: I don't know how, Candace, I don't know how you
- 38:30Speaker 2: would react. Like, to an ultimatum, I don't think you'd
- 38:33Speaker 2: do well with it.
- 38:34Speaker 7: No.
- 38:34Speaker 6: I mean, no one does well with ultimatums.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Oh, Eric, be out the house. You and Enzo would
- 38:37Speaker 2: be chilling.
- 38:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:40Speaker 2: You'd be like, sorry, Eric. Well, here's your bags.
- 38:42Speaker 3: Right.
- 38:42Speaker 2: I'll help you pack.
- 38:44Speaker 5: No.
- 38:45Speaker 2: That would never happen, though.
- 38:47Speaker 6: No.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Well, and I know, like you said, if someone is
- 38:50Speaker 2: going through a mental health crisis, then that's different. But
- 38:53Speaker 2: I don't know. This doesn't sound necessarily like a mental
- 38:55Speaker 2: health crisis.
- 38:56Speaker 4: No, it sounds like he's lazy.
- 38:58Speaker 2: You don't feel like he really genuinely needs help mentally,
- 39:00Speaker 2: do you? Or maybe you do.
- 39:02Speaker 5: I do.
- 39:02Speaker 8: I understand mental health.
- 39:03Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 39:04Speaker 8: I don't think he needs it. But if he did,
- 39:06Speaker 8: I would get it for him. Like, I would help.
- 39:07Speaker 8: I would do whatever I needed to to make sure
- 39:09Speaker 8: he got the help that he needed if he really
- 39:11Speaker 8: needs the help.
- 39:12Speaker 5: I just don't know if that's exactly what's going on.
- 39:15Speaker 6: Well, you have to find out. It might be. Maybe
- 39:17Speaker 6: he's hiding it from you.
- 39:18Speaker 2: But you also know your kids.
- 39:20Speaker 6: I hope so.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Well, some people do. I feel like I can look
- 39:23Speaker 2: at my son if he's lying to me, and I
- 39:24Speaker 2: know he's lying. And I know if I feel like
- 39:26Speaker 2: he's going through something, he doesn't have to say anything
- 39:28Speaker 2: to me. And I know when he's just being lazy.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:31Speaker 2: For sure. Well, Dad, good luck, and I hope it
- 39:33Speaker 2: works out. And I'm sure it will. And I think
- 39:37Speaker 2: one day you'll look back at this, and you'll be like, well,
- 39:39Speaker 2: it all figured itself out. I know when you're going
- 39:41Speaker 2: through it, it's not easy.
- 39:42Speaker 5: I hope so.
- 39:44Speaker 2: I do. Okay.
- 39:45Speaker 5: Hang on.
- 39:46Speaker 2: That's tough.
- 39:47Speaker 5: It is.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Every kid's so different, too. Some kids respond to tough love.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Some don't. Right. When I was a kid and a teenager,
- 39:52Speaker 2: I was pretty motivated. But if you try to push
- 39:55Speaker 2: me to do something I didn't want to... It wasn't happening. Right.
- 39:58Speaker 8: Like, I don't know.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Pooh is different. Sometimes Pooh's got tough love, but I
- 40:03Speaker 2: don't know. I don't know if that works with every kid.
- 40:05Speaker 6: No, it doesn't.
- 40:05Speaker 2: It works with mine. It worked with me when I
- 40:08Speaker 2: was growing up. Because look at my sister. We're night
- 40:10Speaker 2: and day. Like, she's a doctor. My dad did that.
- 40:13Speaker 6: Well, what was the difference? Tough love or not?
- 40:18Speaker 2: What was the difference?
- 40:20Speaker 4: I'm just saying my dad never had to scold her
- 40:23Speaker 4: or nothing. He could just say, I'm disappointed to her.
- 40:25Speaker 4: And my sister would start crying. Like me, he'd tell
- 40:28Speaker 4: me I'm disappointed. I'd be like, me too.
- 40:34Speaker 3: It's time for Candice Court. It gets settled here with
- 40:38Speaker 3: Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 40:40Speaker 6: All rise.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Get up. Stand up. Put your hands up for Judge Lopez.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Candice Lopez. There you go. Welcome to Candice Court. I
- 40:46Speaker 2: forgot about how much I love that song by Switchfoot. Right?
- 40:48Speaker 6: I know.
- 40:49Speaker 2: I got into it for a minute.
- 40:50Speaker 6: You did.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I took my shirt off and everything.
- 40:52Speaker 6: No, you didn't.
- 40:54Speaker 2: It's Mix 102.9. Here we go. If you've got a problem,
- 40:56Speaker 2: Candice can help you out. It's Candice Court at CandiceOnAir
- 40:59Speaker 2: on Instagram. Let me read you this message from this guy. Hey,
- 41:02Speaker 2: I need some help advice because I'm dealing with probably
- 41:05Speaker 2: the most awkward situation I've ever had with a former boss.
- 41:09Speaker 2: I recently got married and my boss at the time
- 41:11Speaker 2: gave my wife and I $ 1, 000 as a wedding gift.
- 41:13Speaker 5: Whoa.
- 41:16Speaker 2: That's a lot, right?
- 41:17Speaker 4: That is.
- 41:18Speaker 2: I was blown away. Didn't expect it. I've worked for
- 41:20Speaker 2: him for almost five years. We've had a great relationship.
- 41:23Speaker 2: We're definitely close friends outside of work. Well, fast forward
- 41:26Speaker 2: two months and I get offered a job with another
- 41:29Speaker 2: company making more money. It happens to be a competitor,
- 41:33Speaker 2: but it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I
- 41:36Speaker 2: gave my two weeks notice and thought we would leave
- 41:38Speaker 2: on good terms. I knew he wasn't going to be happy,
- 41:40Speaker 2: but it's just business. Then a few days ago, he
- 41:44Speaker 2: texted me and going off, On me saying he felt
- 41:47Speaker 2: like I took advantage of his generosity and basically said
- 41:50Speaker 2: that he wanted the thousand dollars back.
- 41:52Speaker 5: Oh, what?
- 41:54Speaker 2: I seriously thought he was joking at first, but he wasn't.
- 41:57Speaker 2: He said if I'd have known that I was planning
- 41:59Speaker 2: to leave and quote unquote betray him, he would have
- 42:03Speaker 2: never given me that money in the first place.
- 42:05Speaker 3: Whoa.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Now I'm torn because I genuinely appreciated the gift. But
- 42:08Speaker 2: since when does a wedding gift come with strings attached?
- 42:12Speaker 2: My wife thinks he's completely out of line and says
- 42:14Speaker 2: we shouldn't give him a dime back. But some other
- 42:17Speaker 2: friends of mine say I should just probably pay him
- 42:19Speaker 2: back and just move on because it looks shady if
- 42:21Speaker 2: I don't, especially since I just left right after. Am
- 42:25Speaker 2: I wrong if I don't give it back? I never
- 42:27Speaker 2: thought it would end our friendship. This is crazy to me.
- 42:30Speaker 2: What should I do?
- 42:30Speaker 4: It's a tough one.
- 42:32Speaker 2: That is tough. You know, it's a former boss. You
- 42:36Speaker 2: leave for a competitor. He just came to your wedding,
- 42:39Speaker 2: gave you $ 1, 000. So a lot of stuff going on, Candace,
- 42:42Speaker 2: your thoughts.
- 42:43Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:43Speaker 7: But a gift is like based on my history with you, right?
- 42:46Speaker 7: If you're a close friends outside of work, you'll be
- 42:49Speaker 7: friends after this.
- 42:50Speaker 6: Job, right?
- 42:51Speaker 2: No, no, no, I don't think not. If you, I mean,
- 42:54Speaker 2: listen to me, business is not always just business. He's like,
- 42:58Speaker 2: it's just business. No business is personal, especially when you
- 43:00Speaker 2: have a job that is considered like a lifestyle, right?
- 43:04Speaker 2: You know, and it's like more than just a job.
- 43:06Speaker 2: It's who you are. And, Things are very personal. I
- 43:09Speaker 2: don't care what anybody says. Things get personal at work.
- 43:12Speaker 2: They do.
- 43:12Speaker 6: Yeah, but you can tell this guy, like, look, this
- 43:14Speaker 6: company's paying more. They're our competitor. I'll bring you over there.
- 43:17Speaker 2: I just don't think I'm getting the full story from
- 43:19Speaker 2: him with all due respect. You got me right. I
- 43:22Speaker 2: feel like the boss has some emotional ties in this,
- 43:25Speaker 2: and he's like, you're just going to leave after everything
- 43:26Speaker 2: I've done for you? After five years, you're just going
- 43:28Speaker 2: to leave because of money? Money's not everything. I know
- 43:31Speaker 2: it's important. I'm sorry. It's not. It's really not. I'm
- 43:35Speaker 2: not going to break up someone's loyalty for money.
- 43:37Speaker 6: Well, it depends on how you're trying to move in
- 43:39Speaker 6: your career.
- 43:40Speaker 7: Like, I left this job twice before, but I talked
- 43:43Speaker 7: to our boss the first.
- 43:44Speaker 6: Time, and I was like, hey, I got this offer.
- 43:46Speaker 6: I'm just being honest. This is what it is. Can
- 43:48Speaker 6: you help me? What do you see my future here?
- 43:51Speaker 6: And he said, go take it. I'll bring you back.
- 43:54Speaker 6: Sure enough, he did.
- 43:55Speaker 2: But this guy didn't even do this. To me, he
- 43:57Speaker 2: would have said that. To me, that would make more sense.
- 43:59Speaker 6: A heads up would have been nice. Right.
- 44:00Speaker 2: You just blindside a boss in saying you're going to
- 44:03Speaker 2: a competitor for more money?
- 44:04Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 44:05Speaker 2: I would at least been like, hey, this is going
- 44:07Speaker 2: to be an awkward situation, but I consider you a
- 44:08Speaker 2: friend and almost like family. Yeah. So money is I
- 44:14Speaker 2: have an opportunity with more money at a competitor. Is
- 44:17Speaker 2: there anything we can do here to make this, you know,
- 44:20Speaker 2: not so attractive? He gave him his two weeks. Like,
- 44:23Speaker 2: come on, man. You can't be like that. If you
- 44:26Speaker 2: left for a competing show, if you just left. You
- 44:29Speaker 2: think Candace and I are going to be like, oh, well,
- 44:31Speaker 2: he was making more money, so good for him.
- 44:34Speaker 5: Right.
- 44:35Speaker 3: No.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. My circumstance is different. No, it's not, though, really,
- 44:39Speaker 2: because everybody lives in their own world, and it's the same.
- 44:41Speaker 2: It's a different world here, but it's the same thing there.
- 44:44Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, not having a conversation and just putting
- 44:47Speaker 7: in your two weeks, that's.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Kind of low.
- 44:49Speaker 4: Yeah, and plus, I got history with y'all outside of
- 44:52Speaker 4: this radio station.
- 44:53Speaker 2: I'm not just going to be like— Peace, Billy and Candace.
- 44:55Speaker 2: I'm out. Right. But, I mean, if you.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Gave me— if the good.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Lord blessed me with a— If I gave you a
- 45:02Speaker 2: new car from Honda— And then you go and leave
- 45:08Speaker 2: in two weeks. I'm asking for my car back.
- 45:11Speaker 4: I'm just saying, if y'all gave me a wedding gift,
- 45:13Speaker 4: a thousand dollars, that money's already spent.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Like I'm not, I'm not giving it to you back,
- 45:18Speaker 2: but I'm not saying he should give it back. I'm
- 45:20Speaker 2: saying I would, I know why this boss is upset
- 45:23Speaker 2: and he's being just bitter Betty right now. And he's
- 45:25Speaker 2: being petty.
- 45:25Speaker 6: He's taking it too far by texting you. You've taken
- 45:28Speaker 6: advantage of my generosity. How I didn't know this was coming.
- 45:31Speaker 6: You know, like the timing was just bad.
- 45:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:33Speaker 4: And I didn't know our friendships had limitations.
- 45:37Speaker 2: You can't be doing me like that. Bring up our friendship.
- 45:39Speaker 2: I wish, you know, give me my money back. Who
- 45:42Speaker 2: does that?
- 45:43Speaker 5: Well.
- 45:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't like that.
- 45:44Speaker 2: I don't necessarily think you should get the money back,
- 45:46Speaker 2: but I know why the guy is asking for it back.
- 45:48Speaker 2: I get it because I'd be upset too.
- 45:49Speaker 5: So.
- 45:50Speaker 2: He's probably going to look back on this and be like, okay,
- 45:52Speaker 2: I shouldn't ask for the money back. It's not about
- 45:54Speaker 2: the money. It's about the friendship that he feels betrayed.
- 45:56Speaker 3: Okay.
- 45:56Speaker 4: Well, then state that.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Don't ask me for the money back. But I'd give
- 46:00Speaker 2: it back. If I was the other guy, I'd be like, okay,
- 46:01Speaker 2: take it. I don't want your money.
- 46:03Speaker 5: Yeah. I don't.
- 46:04Speaker 2: I do what my new wife say.
- 46:05Speaker 5: Mm-mm.
- 46:06Speaker 2: That's a good point, too.
- 46:07Speaker 4: I'm keeping it.
- 46:08Speaker 2: For sure.
- 46:09Speaker 6: I mean, how do we know he has $ 1, 000 anymore?
- 46:11Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 46:11Speaker 6: Probably already spent on something.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think he needs to get down to
- 46:16Speaker 2: the root of the problem.
- 46:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 46:18Speaker 2: And then talk about that. But it doesn't matter what
- 46:19Speaker 2: we think. Candace Lopez, this is your court. It's your rules.
- 46:22Speaker 7: Yeah, look, I think you're guilty of being a grand Gavin.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:26Speaker 6: You can't ask for the money back. Who does that?
- 46:29Speaker 7: I'm going to give you $ 1, 000 back. Now, the other
- 46:32Speaker 7: guy was guilty, too, for not having a conversation and
- 46:34Speaker 7: knowing that this is a relationship you have with your boss.
- 46:36Speaker 6: Give him a heads up.
- 46:37Speaker 2: He's a traitor, Timmy, if you ask me.
- 46:40Speaker 6: Y'all are both guilty.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Can we do that?
- 46:42Speaker 6: Yeah, let's do it.
- 46:43Speaker 2: It's your court. All right, everybody's guilty.
- 46:45Speaker 6: Yeah, sorry.
- 46:45Speaker 3: Boom. It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy
- 46:50Speaker 3: the Kid in the Morning.
- 46:51Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 46:53Speaker 3: You have a.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Chance to go to Disneyland. Coming up next, it started
- 46:56Speaker 2: off as a rocky day for Candace Lopez. Her car
- 46:59Speaker 2: wouldn't start. She couldn't get in her laptop. She hated life,
- 47:02Speaker 2: but it's turning around.
- 47:03Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm back. I'm back, guys.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Back in your laptop. We're so back, Candace. We are
- 47:07Speaker 2: so back. back what's going on.
- 47:09Speaker 7: Well the cowboys are back on the field tonight taking
- 47:12Speaker 7: on the tampa bay buccaneers kickoff is 7 15 of
- 47:15Speaker 7: course the bucks.
- 47:16Speaker 6: Oh and four uh so who knows how this.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Could go tonight i don't like playing teams that are
- 47:21Speaker 2: oh and four right or oh and three like last
- 47:23Speaker 2: week because they put up a bigger fight than some
- 47:26Speaker 2: other teams because they have so much on the line Right.
- 47:28Speaker 7: I mean, they definitely don't want to go 0-5. I
- 47:31Speaker 7: don't really know how good of a team they are or.
- 47:33Speaker 6: Are not in these situations. But you can watch it
- 47:36Speaker 6: tonight on Fox.
- 47:37Speaker 2: It's our year.
- 47:38Speaker 6: It's our year, guys.
- 47:39Speaker 5: Yes, it is.
- 47:39Speaker 2: So we're going to win.
- 47:40Speaker 5: Cowboys.
- 47:40Speaker 2: We're going to be, what are we, 2-2 right now?
- 47:42Speaker 3: Yes.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Oh, that's the worst record ever. We're going to be 3-2.
- 47:45Speaker 2: Come on. Don't let us down, boys.
- 47:47Speaker 5: Right.
- 47:47Speaker 3: For real.
- 47:47Speaker 2: You cannot lose to an 0-14. You cannot. I threw
- 47:52Speaker 2: my TV in the pool. I have nothing else to
- 47:53Speaker 2: throw in the pool. I'll throw my other TV in
- 47:55Speaker 2: the pool. Oh no, please don't throw your laptop in
- 47:58Speaker 2: the pool.
- 47:58Speaker 6: I was going to give it to you to do
- 47:59Speaker 6: that for sure.
- 48:00Speaker 7: Uh, guys, let's talk about the new baby name trends
- 48:04Speaker 7: for 2027.
- 48:04Speaker 6: So this website named Barry.
- 48:06Speaker 7: Is predicting Odyssey inspired names to be very popular next year. Uh,
- 48:11Speaker 7: so things like Ajax and Calypso.
- 48:14Speaker 6: Are the examples.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Ajax. What is going on? Ajax?
- 48:18Speaker 6: Is that a bathroom cleaner?
- 48:19Speaker 5: Yes.
- 48:20Speaker 7: Little bleach.
- 48:20Speaker 4: Come here, little bleach.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Come here, little Clorox. Come here, little Ajax. What is
- 48:26Speaker 2: that all about?
- 48:27Speaker 6: Yeah, well, this one's good.
- 48:28Speaker 7: World Cup-inspired names could be very popular next year, which
- 48:31Speaker 7: makes sense. All right.
- 48:33Speaker 6: So, like, Holland.
- 48:35Speaker 2: Okay, because of the.
- 48:36Speaker 6: Erling Haaland.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Erling Haaland. Yeah, the Vikings.
- 48:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 48:39Speaker 2: I almost forgot about that guy.
- 48:40Speaker 6: You did? He cut his hair off.
- 48:42Speaker 2: Oh, did he?
- 48:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:43Speaker 2: I mean, Haaland's a cool name.
- 48:45Speaker 6: Yeah, and then Enzo, which is my son's name.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Which I love that name, obviously.
- 48:48Speaker 7: There's a player on the Argentina team that was named Enzo.
- 48:52Speaker 6: I don't know if he was the best sportsmanship award winner.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Yeah, didn't he like... hurt someone?
- 48:56Speaker 6: I think so. Uh, but overall really nice name.
- 48:59Speaker 7: And so, uh, other, other trends coming name maxing is
- 49:03Speaker 7: going to be a big one. So that's where you
- 49:04Speaker 7: blend two names together. Um, so like Maeve and Avery
- 49:09Speaker 7: would be Mavery.
- 49:10Speaker 2: Mavery or like, you know, I don't know. Poo and
- 49:12Speaker 2: Billy would be Pooey. Pilly.
- 49:15Speaker 5: Pilly.
- 49:16Speaker 4: Right.
- 49:16Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 49:17Speaker 6: I like Pilly.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Or like my real name is William, so you can
- 49:21Speaker 2: call me, I don't know, Pilliam.
- 49:23Speaker 4: We'll work on that.
- 49:27Speaker 2: We'll work on it.
- 49:28Speaker 7: Yeah, other trends, coastal baby names, and then names ending
- 49:31Speaker 7: in Omi.
- 49:32Speaker 6: So like Tomi.
- 49:34Speaker 6: A-O-M-E and X-I-O-M-E.
- 49:37Speaker 4: Naomi?
- 49:37Speaker 6: You're saying.
- 49:38Speaker 5: Anxiety?
- 49:38Speaker 4: What is it?
- 49:40Speaker 6: A-O-M-E and Tomi.
- 49:41Speaker 2: I mean, we're getting so weird with the names, but
- 49:44Speaker 2: a lot of old school names are coming back in style, too.
- 49:46Speaker 6: Yeah, like Margaret.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Which I kind of like that.
- 49:49Speaker 6: Margaret?
- 49:50Speaker 4: Yeah. Things like that.
- 49:52Speaker 2: Please don't name your kid Margaret.
- 49:53Speaker 6: Classic names.
- 49:54Speaker 2: She getting beat up. Like, you never meet a new Jessica.
- 49:57Speaker 5: No.
- 49:57Speaker 4: No?
- 49:57Speaker 2: Hey, bring back Jessica.
- 49:59Speaker 6: Elizabeth.
- 49:59Speaker 3: Shannon. Shannon.
- 50:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 50:01Speaker 4: That's a good one.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Well, you were talking old school names. Yeah. Like Esmeralda.
- 50:06Speaker 5: Ooh.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Yeah. Esme. Yeah, for sure. Bertha. Okay, we'll skip.
- 50:12Speaker 6: Gertrude.
- 50:13Speaker 3: Gertrude.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Yes. Okay.
- 50:16Speaker 6: Real quick, guys.
- 50:17Speaker 7: This genealogy website is linking Sidney Sweeney to one of
- 50:21Speaker 7: the most iconic celebrities ever. They're going viral for saying
- 50:24Speaker 7: Sidney is related to Marilyn Monroe.
- 50:27Speaker 2: I can see it, honestly. Yeah.
- 50:29Speaker 6: Now that I think about it, I totally can.
- 50:31Speaker 7: So this is MyHeritage.com, and they're saying that they are
- 50:34Speaker 7: ninth cousins once removed through an ancestor named Ezra, speaking
- 50:39Speaker 7: of old school names, who was in Sandwich, Massachusetts in
- 50:43Speaker 7: the 1600s.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Okay.
- 50:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 50:45Speaker 4: I mean, that's kind of.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Kind of such a strange connection. Like sometimes celebrities who
- 50:50Speaker 2: are related, it's very weird. Yeah. But I like it.
- 50:53Speaker 2: I think I kind of see the resemblance in a
- 50:55Speaker 2: weird way.
- 50:56Speaker 6: Yeah, no, I totally could see it.
- 50:58Speaker 7: I don't know if she's dressed up as Marilyn for
- 51:00Speaker 7: a costume party once. I feel like I've seen her
- 51:02Speaker 7: dressed as Marilyn or if it was a role that
- 51:04Speaker 7: she played.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 51:06Speaker 6: But that would make sense.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Isn't she engaged to Scooter Braun?
- 51:08Speaker 6: I think so, yeah.
- 51:10Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 51:10Speaker 2: That's a weird couple to me.
- 51:12Speaker 5: Yeah, it is.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it's kind of bizarre. I don't know.
- 51:14Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't have put them together, but
- 51:16Speaker 6: they seem like they were.
- 51:17Speaker 2: I think every happy couple's weird. If you're happy, it's like,
- 51:20Speaker 2: that's weird. They're all happy and in love.
- 51:22Speaker 4: Okay, fair enough. How strange.
- 51:24Speaker 6: All right, I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 51:27Speaker 5: Oh, that's a hot take.
- 51:29Speaker 3: Let us know what you think.
- 51:31Speaker 6: Here's today's hot take.
- 51:32Speaker 2: This story has gone viral, and it's so funny to me.
- 51:36Speaker 2: It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid. Candace Lopez is here. Producer
- 51:39Speaker 2: Poo is here. So basically what happens at this baseball
- 51:43Speaker 2: game the other night is it's the Dodgers and the
- 51:46Speaker 2: Braves playing. I don't even know.
- 51:47Speaker 6: Are they in L.A.? They were in Atlanta.
- 51:49Speaker 2: So they're in Atlanta. And, okay, that plays into it.
- 51:52Speaker 2: Because basically what happens is there's a foul ball, and
- 51:55Speaker 2: the foul ball goes into the stands, and this guy
- 51:58Speaker 2: catches it. The guy's 31 years old. He catches the ball.
- 52:02Speaker 2: And the cameraman who happens to be filming is like, hey,
- 52:06Speaker 2: give it to the kid. And I'll let you hear
- 52:09Speaker 2: what this guy said.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Give it to the kids.
- 52:12Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 52:13Speaker 3: I can't. Wow.
- 52:14Speaker 5: I'm not giving it to the kids.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Hold on. So there's a little kid in a Braves jersey.
- 52:21Speaker 4: He's probably like four or five.
- 52:23Speaker 6: Yeah, so cute.
- 52:24Speaker 2: He's the cutest. He's got like a bowl cut. He's
- 52:27Speaker 2: a cute kid. And everybody's like, give it to the kid.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Give it to the kid. And this guy's like, no,
- 52:32Speaker 2: I can't. I'm sorry, but I can't.
- 52:35Speaker 6: I don't blame him.
- 52:36Speaker 2: And now people are so mad at this guy online.
- 52:41Speaker 2: I guess people started harassing him.
- 52:43Speaker 6: That's not fair.
- 52:44Speaker 2: At the game. They're like, so I want to hear
- 52:46Speaker 2: it one more time.
- 52:47Speaker 3: Give it to the kids.
- 52:48Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I can't.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Wow.
- 52:51Speaker 2: I'm not giving it to the kids. Who's that guy?
- 52:53Speaker 4: Who's that guy?
- 52:56Speaker 2: I mean, at some point, they sound like they start
- 52:58Speaker 2: booing him. They're also in Atlanta, and this guy looks
- 53:00Speaker 2: like he's a Dodgers fan.
- 53:02Speaker 7: He's wearing a Dodgers jersey. Yeah, he's with four other
- 53:04Speaker 7: dudes that are wearing Dodgers jerseys.
- 53:06Speaker 2: He's like 31 years old. I mean, well, here's the
- 53:09Speaker 2: issue is if you're not a big baseball fan, a
- 53:11Speaker 2: lot of the times what happens in the stands is
- 53:14Speaker 2: when somebody. catches a foul ball, they will give it
- 53:17Speaker 2: to a little kid if there's a little kid around.
- 53:19Speaker 6: Right, it's happened to my son. Someone caught it and
- 53:21Speaker 6: gave it to him. It was awesome.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Which surprises me that you're on this guy's side.
- 53:26Speaker 7: I know, but this kid was like three, four rows
- 53:28Speaker 7: behind this guy, had nothing to do with anything that
- 53:31Speaker 7: was going on.
- 53:32Speaker 5: Right.
- 53:32Speaker 7: This is just a random fan, or maybe it's this
- 53:35Speaker 7: kid's family who's videoing and shaming this guy to give.
- 53:38Speaker 6: Him the ball.
- 53:39Speaker 2: No, I don't think... It turns out the camera guy
- 53:41Speaker 2: wasn't even related to the kid.
- 53:42Speaker 6: It was just somebody with their phone.
- 53:44Speaker 2: He was just like, hey, give it to the kid.
- 53:45Speaker 2: It would be sweet. It would be nice. And the
- 53:46Speaker 2: kid is sitting there kind of looking like... He looks
- 53:49Speaker 2: kind of confused, honestly.
- 53:50Speaker 6: I don't know if he knows where he is. He's
- 53:51Speaker 6: a little guy.
- 53:52Speaker 2: He's a little guy, but it would have made... Would
- 53:55Speaker 2: I have given the baseball to the kid? Yes, I
- 53:57Speaker 2: would have.
- 53:58Speaker 6: I probably would, too, because I'm a recovering people pleaser.
- 54:01Speaker 6: But you caught this ball, guy.
- 54:03Speaker 4: No, I went out of town to go see this game.
- 54:05Speaker 2: Maybe possibly. No, like I put in work to catch
- 54:09Speaker 2: this ball. I'm coming. I'm showing up to the game
- 54:10Speaker 2: with a glove.
- 54:12Speaker 4: No, no, that kid can wait.
- 54:14Speaker 2: OK, I'll be honest. Grown men at baseball games of
- 54:17Speaker 2: gloves with no kids around. They don't have a kid.
- 54:19Speaker 2: That always weirds me out. I'm like, you think they're
- 54:21Speaker 2: going to call you into the field, bro?
- 54:23Speaker 4: No, I'm just saying maybe he could get lucky and catch,
- 54:27Speaker 4: you know, somebody's last hit.
- 54:29Speaker 5: Okay.
- 54:29Speaker 2: Right.
- 54:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:30Speaker 6: Who hit the ball?
- 54:31Speaker 2: I want to know.
- 54:31Speaker 6: Was it a Dodgers player or a Braves player?
- 54:33Speaker 2: I think it was a Dodgers player.
- 54:35Speaker 5: Okay.
- 54:35Speaker 6: Well, then a Dodgers fan should get it.
- 54:37Speaker 2: I forget his name. I'm going to read you some
- 54:38Speaker 2: of the comments. I'm curious what people think. Here's some
- 54:41Speaker 2: of the comments. This guy said, I'm 70 years old.
- 54:43Speaker 2: I've never caught a ball at a game ever in
- 54:46Speaker 2: my life. I wouldn't even give it to my own
- 54:48Speaker 2: damn kids.
- 54:49Speaker 5: See?
- 54:49Speaker 2: That's what I'm talking about. People live for those moments. Right.
- 54:53Speaker 2: This person says, the fact that the cameraman is trying
- 54:55Speaker 2: to shame the guy for keeping the ball, I'm glad
- 54:58Speaker 2: he kept it.
- 54:59Speaker 6: Yeah, that's not fair.
- 55:00Speaker 2: This person says, please, these people are unruly these days. First,
- 55:05Speaker 2: give the baseball to the kid. Then I got to
- 55:07Speaker 2: give my window seat to the kid. Then the aisle
- 55:09Speaker 2: seat to the kid on the plane.
- 55:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:11Speaker 2: It's never ending.
- 55:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:13Speaker 2: This person says, which I think that's a little bit different.
- 55:16Speaker 6: I mean, honestly, this kid's so little. I don't even
- 55:18Speaker 6: think he's going to remember being at this game.
- 55:21Speaker 2: Probably not. But if he had the baseball, he would.
- 55:26Speaker 2: This person says, hey, not everybody gets a participation ribbon.
- 55:29Speaker 2: Maybe the kid's parents are going to reach higher next
- 55:31Speaker 2: time he gets the ball himself.
- 55:32Speaker 4: Wow.
- 55:34Speaker 2: I will say it would be different if the kid
- 55:36Speaker 2: was going for the ball.
- 55:37Speaker 6: Right.
- 55:38Speaker 2: And then he didn't get it. But the kid wasn't
- 55:40Speaker 2: even going for the ball. I don't even think he
- 55:42Speaker 2: understood the concept of the ball coming into the stands. Right.
- 55:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 55:45Speaker 2: So I will give you that. This person and this
- 55:47Speaker 2: what this guy said, if you push the kid out
- 55:49Speaker 2: of the way, I'd get it. But he doesn't owe
- 55:50Speaker 2: this kid anything. No, that kid's corny. That was a
- 55:54Speaker 2: random shot.
- 55:55Speaker 6: Of the kid. You don't need to say that.
- 55:57Speaker 2: That was a low blow.
- 55:59Speaker 7: Sorry, your parents got you tickets four rows behind me
- 56:02Speaker 7: where the ball came.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Have you ever have you ever been in a situation, though,
- 56:06Speaker 2: like on a plane, for example, I have been asked
- 56:08Speaker 2: by a mom to move because her kid is, you know,
- 56:11Speaker 2: she has her child. And they got mixed up. They
- 56:14Speaker 2: needed the seats together or whatever, a young child. And
- 56:18Speaker 2: every single time I've moved.
- 56:20Speaker 5: Always.
- 56:21Speaker 2: You have?
- 56:21Speaker 8: Yes.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Now, Pooh wouldn't.
- 56:23Speaker 5: No.
- 56:24Speaker 8: There was a lady.
- 56:24Speaker 4: I had an aisle seat. I had an aisle seat.
- 56:27Speaker 4: And one of her kids was right next to me.
- 56:30Speaker 4: And she was up in the middle, like in front
- 56:32Speaker 4: of me. She's like, can I switch with you?
- 56:34Speaker 2: I was like, no, no. I ain't giving up this
- 56:37Speaker 2: aisle seat. Even for a young mom who wants to
- 56:39Speaker 2: be near.
- 56:40Speaker 5: No. Wow.
- 56:41Speaker 2: I need my aisle seat.
- 56:43Speaker 5: Yeah. I got to go.
- 56:44Speaker 4: Being in the middle and asking somebody every time you
- 56:47Speaker 4: got to go to the bathroom, I hate that.
- 56:48Speaker 6: And what if someone pulled out their phone and was
- 56:50Speaker 6: shaming you? Switch your seat.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to sit right here. Maybe I am
- 56:53Speaker 2: a softie because if the cameraman would have said this
- 56:56Speaker 2: to me, I would have given the ball. Every time
- 56:57Speaker 2: somebody asks, hey, can you switch? I do. Every single time.
- 57:00Speaker 2: I mean, there's been times when I've paid for the
- 57:02Speaker 2: specific seat and I've still switched.
- 57:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 57:05Speaker 2: Every time.
- 57:06Speaker 6: For sure.
- 57:07Speaker 7: I mean, that's just how it goes. You took one
- 57:09Speaker 7: for the team. You're a good person for that. This
- 57:10Speaker 7: guy could have taken the high road and given it
- 57:12Speaker 7: to the kid, but he's not obligated and you shouldn't
- 57:14Speaker 7: shame him into it.
- 57:15Speaker 2: I'm not saying you should shame him. I've never caught
- 57:17Speaker 2: a foul ball in my life either, which is weird.
- 57:19Speaker 2: I've been to so many baseball games. Enzo, your son
- 57:22Speaker 2: has caught like four.
- 57:23Speaker 5: Yeah, he has.
- 57:24Speaker 2: I've never caught one. It's always been a dream to.
- 57:26Speaker 6: They always come to the Bailey and Galleon seats.
- 57:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 57:29Speaker 6: Well, you know, have hosted me before. Thanks to thanks
- 57:32Speaker 6: to them.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Well, I've never caught one and even never catching a
- 57:35Speaker 2: foul ball. If I caught that ball, who's going to
- 57:38Speaker 2: remember it more? Me as a grown man or this
- 57:41Speaker 2: little kid who gets to hold on to it forever.
- 57:43Speaker 2: It could have been his first baseball game ever.
- 57:45Speaker 6: It could have been.
- 57:46Speaker 2: I'm giving it to the kid. I'm just surprised that
- 57:48Speaker 2: you two, who have kids, are like, forget that little four-year-old.
- 57:52Speaker 6: Because I would never shame this man like that.
- 57:54Speaker 2: I wouldn't shame him, but I'm like, I'll give it
- 57:55Speaker 2: to the kid.
- 57:56Speaker 4: I would have told that cameraman, go film somebody else.
- 57:59Speaker 4: It's just not fair.
- 58:00Speaker 7: This guy went to the game, minding his own business,
- 58:03Speaker 7: and now he's all over the internet?
- 58:04Speaker 6: Because he caught a foul ball? That's not fair.
- 58:07Speaker 2: But he kind of looks like a jerk.
- 58:08Speaker 3: No.
- 58:09Speaker 5: No?
- 58:09Speaker 2: He's... What if he don't get tickets ever again?
- 58:12Speaker 8: Who?
- 58:13Speaker 2: The grown man.
- 58:14Speaker 4: What if?
- 58:15Speaker 2: What if? What if?
- 58:17Speaker 4: I'm just saying that kid is a little, he's four
- 58:19Speaker 4: years old. He's obviously going to go to another game.
- 58:22Speaker 2: You don't know that. Maybe his parents saved up for
- 58:24Speaker 2: all four years of his life for one baseball game.
- 58:27Speaker 7: This guy's probably been working hard for years to make
- 58:30Speaker 7: a career, to have money, to buy a ticket to
- 58:31Speaker 7: this game. And the kid just gets handed a ticket
- 58:34Speaker 7: because he's three or four.
- 58:35Speaker 2: All right.
- 58:36Speaker 6: And I love kids.
- 58:37Speaker 7: It doesn't sound like people. have gone out of their
- 58:40Speaker 7: way to make my son happy that's my point i
- 58:43Speaker 7: am so thankful for that but i would never shame
- 58:45Speaker 7: them for not doing it when.
- 58:46Speaker 2: They have nothing you would not be happy candace if
- 58:48Speaker 2: you're sitting in the bailey gang.
- 58:50Speaker 6: Four rows behind sweet and all of.
- 58:52Speaker 2: A sudden somebody catches the ball and you're like oh
- 58:55Speaker 2: and somebody says give it to the kid and enzo's
- 58:57Speaker 2: like oh that would be nice.
- 58:59Speaker 6: This kid didn't even get it i would like.
- 59:01Speaker 7: Some porridge An eight-year-old like my son, yeah, he gets it.
- 59:05Speaker 7: Everyone's saying he's getting his hopes up.
- 59:08Speaker 6: He doesn't get it.
- 59:08Speaker 2: And then this guy turns the camera with little Enzo
- 59:11Speaker 2: sitting there crying behind him.
- 59:12Speaker 6: This kid's not crying. He doesn't even know what's going on.
- 59:15Speaker 2: He's crying behind him and he's like, you know, sorry,
- 59:18Speaker 2: I'm 31 years old. I've dreamed of this. That kid
- 59:20Speaker 2: can sit down. Sorry, Enzo, sit down and shut up.
- 59:24Speaker 2: You'd be like, you're right.
- 59:25Speaker 7: This kid will be just as happy if you got
- 59:27Speaker 7: him a box of Cracker Jacks or cotton candy.
- 59:30Speaker 4: Get him some popcorn.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Shut up. No, this kid's going to end up in
- 59:32Speaker 2: jail because of this incident.
- 59:33Speaker 1: 102.9 the new mix 102.9 mix 102.9 good morning billy
- 59:42Speaker 1: the kid candace lopez producer poo is here we got
- 59:44Speaker 1: a trip to disneyland another shot coming up at 9
- 59:47Speaker 1: 10 and we'll do that so i have the iheart
- 59:48Speaker 1: radio app ready to roll that's how you win we
- 59:50Speaker 1: do it on the 10s all day now if you
- 59:52Speaker 1: don't usually listen when our show kicks off at 6.
- 59:54Speaker 2: A.m you might not hear this but we do something
- 59:57Speaker 2: called real or fake news And it's one of my
- 59:59Speaker 2: favorite things to do because the news is ridiculous. Well,
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: there was a bunch of extra stories today that were crazy.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't want to miss this. So I
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: think I'm going to do real or fake news right now.
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: A bonus round.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: Nice.
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 1:00:09Speaker 6: You won earlier, so give us a redo.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. So I have one fake story out
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: of the three. You got to pick which one's fake
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: if you don't know how we do it because all
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: the stories sound a little bit ridiculous. We usually do
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: this around 630 or so. So if you want to
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: check it out, check it out. Maybe we start doing
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: it other times because people do like it and They
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: like hearing ridiculous stories in the news because guess what?
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: It makes you feel more normal about your life.
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: It does.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: That's what it does. So here we go. I'm going
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: to give you three headlines. Which one is fake? Headline
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: number one. Woman finds $ 12, 000 inside couch purchased from Facebook Marketplace.
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: A woman finds $ 12, 000 inside a couch purchased from Facebook Marketplace.
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: Lucky.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Headline number one. Headline number two. Woman arrested for posing...
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: As a substitute teacher just to insult students because she, quote,
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: hates kids. What? Woman arrested after posing as a substitute
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: teacher just so she can insult the students because she, quote,
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: hates kids.
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: That is headline number two. Headline number three. Delivery driver
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: urinates all over man's belongings after dropping off package. Delivery driver.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: urinates all over man's belongings after dropping off package. So
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: three headlines right there. I told you they're ridiculous. Now
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: you got to pick which one is the fake story.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: I usually let Candace Lopez go first. If she wants
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: to pass it to Pooh, she can. Candace, what would
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: you like to do?
- 1:01:41Speaker 6: I'd like to go first.
- 1:01:42Speaker 7: Lock me in for that second story, the fake substitute teacher.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: You think that's the fake story? Pooh sounds disgruntled like
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: that was going to be his pick.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: It was.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: Was this fine? Backstory on this game is Candace... wins
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: 95 of the time.
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: Okay you ain't gotta highlight all that all right i
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: said to him earlier yeah now she got a highlight
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: reel and everything.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: You ain't gotta do that well i'm just saying facts
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: numbers don't lie men women lie numbers don't let's lock
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: it in it is locked in now we go to
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: producer poo and you tell me which one do you
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: think out of the remaining two stories are.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: Fake okay lock me in for that last story the
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: man dropping off the package urinated on I don't believe that.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: You don't think that's the real story? No. Okay, let's
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: lock it in. Locked in officially. Now, and the winner
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: today is, and if they don't get any of them right,
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: and I get the fake story by, then I win.
- 1:02:31Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: And that's just what happened.
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: Oh, he's cheating. I won twice today. I'm on fire.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Flat butt Billy for the win. Did it? Yeah, no, see,
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: sometimes I try to make a normal story, the most
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: normal story, the fake story.
- 1:02:50Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: So the story that was fake was the woman who
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: finds $ 12, 000 inside the couch purchased from Facebook Marketplace. That's
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: the fake story. Man. That sounded believable. I'm sure it's
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: probably happened at one time before. Okay, now the real stories,
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: let's get to it. You want the woman arrested as
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: the substitute teacher first or the guy who peed all
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: over the guy's stuff?
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: Give me the sub.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: Okay, you want the sub.
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: So this story's kind of wild. It happened in... It
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: happened in New Jersey, and I guess this woman, oh no,
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: it happened in Milwaukee.
- 1:03:18Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: A Milwaukee woman allegedly talked her way into a high
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: school classroom as a substitute teacher, then spent two class
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: periods insulting students.
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: What?
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Amy Jones, 23, is accused of basically just going on
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: a two-hour rant insulting kids. Using slurs, very, very bad slurs.
- 1:03:40Speaker 5: Uh-oh.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: Even making some sexual comments to the kids. No. Making
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: multiple kids cry. It's not funny.
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: God.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Then some kid goes to the office and is like,
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: tells them what happened. And they go down there and
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: they're like, wait, what are you doing? They yank her
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: out of the class. They call the police. The police
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: say the former student, she was also a student there
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: back in the day.
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: Said she admits that she just got bored and wanted
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: to insult the kids.
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: So she filled in as a substitute.
- 1:04:11Speaker 6: Trolling people online like everyone else isn't good enough for you?
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: I think I had her as a sub at one point.
- 1:04:17Speaker 5: We did.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: We had a sub one time that was so nuts that,
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: I mean, they got, like, banned from teaching ever again. Wow.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: Because our substitute teacher at this class when I was
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: in school, like in sixth grade, flicked a kid in
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: the back of the head.
- 1:04:30Speaker 6: Flicked him?
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: Like, hard. Like, the kid said something stupid, and the
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: substitute teacher went by and, like, flicked the kid in
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: the back of the head.
- 1:04:39Speaker 6: Wow.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: Hard.
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: Ooh.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: And he got really in a lot of trouble for
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: doing it.
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: Which sometimes a kid... I mean, I probably deserved a
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: couple flicks.
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I was going to say.
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: Probably.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: I'm not going to lie. All right, last story is
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: this delivery driver who urinated all over a man's belongings
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: after dropping off a package. This happened in New York.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: It was an Amazon delivery driver... He was caught on
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: a ring camera urinating throughout the lobby of this guy's
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: apartment building. Oh, my God. The tenant identified as Donnie,
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: said he buzzed the driver inside, and later checked the
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: video to discover a mess. He said there was urine
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: all over the floor, and the guy started urinating on everything. Oh. Yeah. Chairs, tables.
- 1:05:20Speaker 6: Come on.
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: Everything.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: They had to throw everything away. Yeah. He complained to Amazon,
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: and Amazon offered him a $ 50 gift card.
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: Oh.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: He turned it down and said, yeah, the response didn't
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: match what happened. Amazon said the driver worked for an
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: independent delivery service partner and is no longer delivering packages.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: Donnie's considering legal action and wants stronger safeguards in place
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: so this can't happen. They asked the delivery driver why
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: he peed on everything and he said, sorry, I had
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: to go. So I had to go, but get your package.
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: Here's a gift card.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: When you got to go, you got to go. Sorry
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: if it's on your couch.
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: Kid in the morning.
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9. Look at it.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: It's beautiful outside before it gets too hot. Even the
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: 80s too hot for me right now, but it looks
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: gorgeous out right now. It's beautiful. It's going to be
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: a nice weekend coming up. It's going to be nice.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: I'm trying to put everybody in a good mood.
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: It is.
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: Texas OU weekend's coming. The Bears rocking, rolling. This is good.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: And a chance to go to Disneyland coming up next.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 1:06:23Speaker 7: Well, the FAA says an American Airlines flight from Madrid
- 1:06:26Speaker 7: to Dallas was forced to divert to New York after
- 1:06:29Speaker 7: six of the.
- 1:06:30Speaker 6: Eight toilets stopped working. I can't imagine this. This was
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: on Tuesday.
- 1:06:36Speaker 7: They had nearly 300 people on board. This was a
- 1:06:38Speaker 7: 10-hour flight. I guess the pilot told air traffic control
- 1:06:42Speaker 7: we have only two potties operating on board American 37.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: Out of eight, you said? Two out of eight commodes.
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:06:49Speaker 6: Oh, did you have to take it there?
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: Why do you hate the word commode?
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: Because it sounds like my big mama.
- 1:06:55Speaker 6: My big mama used to say that.
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: Big mama said, go flush the commode.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: I know. Well, that's why I like it.
- 1:06:59Speaker 6: It's such a weird word.
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: Listen, I like old school words. Let me be old school.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: All right. Two working commodes. Anyway, did the flight land safe?
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Are we all good?
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: They were grounded in New York for more than three
- 1:07:14Speaker 7: hours and then continued on to Dallas. Yeah, so there
- 1:07:18Speaker 7: you go. Do you need to get out of your
- 1:07:20Speaker 7: system one more time?
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: No, I feel good. I don't know why that's an ick.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: It is. What would you rather call it, the laboratory?
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: The toilet. The laboratory, yeah.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: The little boy's room? The little wrangler's room. That's not
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: creepy at all. I got to go to the little
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: boy's room. No, I say little wranglers sometimes. You're not
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: a little wrangler.
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: Little wrangler?
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: Who says little wrangler room?
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: What?
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: No.
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: I've never heard of that.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: It used to be that. No one is in here
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: calling it the little wrangler room.
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: The banyo.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: Yeah, Banos.
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: Banos?
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm cool with Banos.
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: Yeah, let's go with that.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Nakamo, bro. All right. Well, anything but Little Wrangler.
- 1:07:58Speaker 6: No, I agree.
- 1:08:00Speaker 7: Guys, we do have the first Atlantic hurricane this year.
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: Isaias is out there.
- 1:08:05Speaker 7: Yeah, expected to gain strength in the Gulf today with
- 1:08:07Speaker 7: winds of over 100 miles per hour. They're saying it
- 1:08:10Speaker 7: should make landfall somewhere between New Orleans and Panama City
- 1:08:13Speaker 7: Beach sometime between tonight and early Saturday morning. But we
- 1:08:16Speaker 7: were just talking about how there haven't been any storms.
- 1:08:19Speaker 7: In the Atlantic, and now we've got one.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Well, I always feel like I just judge the storms
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: by their names and how bad they're going to be.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: I know that holds no bearing on it, but to
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: me it does.
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: Maybe it's Esaias.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Esaias?
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: I feel like he's pretty chill.
- 1:08:32Speaker 6: Okay, good.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: He's just chilling at the Asada. Yeah, I don't feel
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: like he's going to have issues. Okay. He's going to
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: come through. You're going to know he's there, but he's
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: not going to cause that much problem.
- 1:08:40Speaker 6: I hope you're right.
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: Yeah, if you're traveling in that area, hurricane warnings stretch
- 1:08:45Speaker 7: from Mississippi to Florida. A lot of kids have fall
- 1:08:47Speaker 7: break coming up, so people were planning to go there.
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: Storm surge warnings are in place.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: Okay, good.
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: Let's talk about this real quick. Amazon just rolled.
- 1:08:54Speaker 7: Out a new About You feature that basically shows you
- 1:08:58Speaker 7: what they think you need based on your past purchases.
- 1:09:01Speaker 7: They say it's designed to improve personalized recommendations, but some
- 1:09:05Speaker 7: people are getting a kick out of just how specific
- 1:09:07Speaker 7: and sometimes awkward these assumptions can be. Like one person
- 1:09:11Speaker 7: whose profile said she has quote, Flat buttocks.
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:09:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: And she didn't put that in there.
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: No.
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: Amazon did it for her because she was probably looking
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: up butt pads or butt stuff.
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: Exactly. Maybe yoga pants with the padding or something like that.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: Which I get it. And I sympathize with her because.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: I always have things pop up on my Instagram for
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: ads about men butt implants.
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: A pancake butt?
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: Because I have a pancake butt.
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: Because I talk about it, my phone hears me talking
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: about it, and it's like, this guy needs some padding
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: back there. Right.
- 1:09:40Speaker 7: Well, the good news is you can edit the information if,
- 1:09:43Speaker 7: you know, Amazon gets something wrong or your preference has changed.
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: Maybe your butt.
- 1:09:47Speaker 7: Has, you know, gone up in size and you don't
- 1:09:50Speaker 7: need the recommendation for the.
- 1:09:51Speaker 6: Flat butt anymore.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: I'm looking at my Amazon right now, and it's, see?
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: It is spot on.
- 1:09:55Speaker 6: Is it suggesting things for you?
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: Mine's suggesting smelling salts.
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: Oh, why?
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: Because I was talking about smelling salts the other day
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: and how somebody was doing them in the middle of
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: a football game.
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: Aaron Rodgers was, and I was like, yeah, they're good.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: Sometimes you just do them before you work out, and
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: it suggested nasal sticks with smelling salts.
- 1:10:13Speaker 6: Wow, okay.
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:10:15Speaker 6: Good to know.
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: Good to know.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: Oh, and padded undies.
- 1:10:17Speaker 6: Well, also good to know.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: Or flat butt. See, I'm just going to get some
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: one day. I'm just going to go and get a BBL.
- 1:10:25Speaker 6: But what comes after that?
- 1:10:26Speaker 7: Like if Amazon thinks you need that now and you
- 1:10:28Speaker 7: buy that, then what are they going to think you need?
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: Well, look at Pooh's Amazon. I think there's a blow-up
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: doll there.
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: No! All right.
- 1:10:35Speaker 6: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories. The
- 1:10:39Speaker 6: new Mix 102.9.

- 1:10:53Speaker 2: it up that way. We'll keep it anonymous. Hit me
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: up at Billy on the radio on Instagram at Billy
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: on the radio. That's probably the easiest. Whatever that secret
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: may be. And you got one.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: OK.
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: And I already I already know how it's going to sound.
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: I'm going to sound like a horrible person when I
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: say it. But I have two kids and one of
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: them is great. She's amazing. Does everything like is a
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: got a great job.
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: It's driven.
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: She's like a responsible, great person. human being okay but
- 1:11:23Speaker 5: my son is uh for lack of a better word
- 1:11:27Speaker 5: like my son's kind of a loser.
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: Hold on dad you can't do it like that.
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: I don't know why i didn't expect that i didn't
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: do him like that he did himself like that i.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: Know but why do you say that yeah what do
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: you mean.
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: He's a loser.
- 1:11:44Speaker 5: So, okay. So like we've raised them the same, in
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: the same house with same values and work ethic. And
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: my daughter did all that, but my son, like he
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: dropped out of college. He's just right now he's living.
- 1:11:56Speaker 5: He's still at home with us now. Like he just
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: stays in his room and plays video games. Most of
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: the time that doesn't have a job, maybe goes out
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: with his friends. You know what I mean?
- 1:12:07Speaker 8: Like he's like, he's living a loser lifestyle.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: Okay, so he's going through a phase right now. How
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: old did you say he was? He was 19?
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: 19.
- 1:12:17Speaker 8: And that's what my wife says.
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: He's going through a phase. No, see, that sounds like
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: what my wife says. I feel like that's the problem.
- 1:12:27Speaker 8: Is that like... he's not being forced and every time
- 1:12:31Speaker 8: i try to my wife is like.
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: No no he's he's mental health he's going through a
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: phase he needs to you need to be easy on
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: him i'm like well at what point will he have
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: to take responsibility yeah.
- 1:12:44Speaker 7: I'm hearing this a lot though that a lot of
- 1:12:46Speaker 7: people this age yeah are struggling mentally okay well things
- 1:12:50Speaker 7: are harder than they realize or they weren't prepared i.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: Mean they But I'm trying to look back, and I mean,
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: things weren't easy for me when I was 19. I mean,
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: we didn't have it easy. It was tough back then, too.
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: I think every generation faces its challenges. For sure. I
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: was out the house at 17. I left. Yeah, you
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: were in jail.
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: No, not then.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: Oh, never mind. Okay, so, but this is obviously causing
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: friction between you and your son, but it sounds like
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: it might be causing some friction between you and your wife. Yeah.
- 1:13:18Speaker 8: Well, I mean, she babies him.
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: I'm trying my best to be a good dad and
- 1:13:24Speaker 5: be responsible and teach them life lessons and help them
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: grow to be adults that can function in society. But
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: my wife is like, she babies him. He needs time
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: to grow. How much time does he need? Right. How
- 1:13:39Speaker 5: many times do you need to figure this out?
- 1:13:41Speaker 6: You know what I mean? Yeah, but a lot of
- 1:13:43Speaker 6: people think, oh, my kid turned 18. They're ready.
- 1:13:45Speaker 7: Their brains aren't fully developed. We just push them out like, hey,
- 1:13:48Speaker 7: you're 18 now.
- 1:13:49Speaker 5: Bye.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, but how old are they?
- 1:13:51Speaker 8: I'm not trying to push them out.
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but you got to do something.
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: I'm not trying to push them out.
- 1:13:54Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, you can't let them not be motivated.
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: But here's the deal. 19 turns into 21, then turns
- 1:13:59Speaker 4: into 30.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: Right. If you keep babying them.
- 1:14:02Speaker 6: It can.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: I see what this guy is going through. Like Enzo,
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: your son, Candace, I have a feeling like obviously he's
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: going to be a successful kid.
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: Of course.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: But if he wasn't, you're going to be like, baby,
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: come here, mommy's got you.
- 1:14:14Speaker 7: I'm always going to have his back, but I'm going
- 1:14:16Speaker 7: to push him to be motivated and try to help
- 1:14:18Speaker 7: him through whatever he's going through so that he can
- 1:14:21Speaker 7: be self-motivated.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: And I believe that, but I think that sometimes people
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: do that differently. And I think, you know, you're like,
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: you got to do something. And obviously you and wife,
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: you're not on the same page. I have a feeling
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: you were probably raised way differently.
- 1:14:33Speaker 5: Look, my dad would have kicked me out of the
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: house if I was doing this kind of stuff. Like
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: I would have hated him for it, but I would
- 1:14:38Speaker 5: have also figured it out. And I would have eventually
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: understood that. Oh, right. I was messing up. I was
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: the one that was being lazy. Like I would have
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: figured that part out. And I feel like my wife
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: won't let him like I'm literally I'm really close to
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: being like, hey, he gets a job and contributes or
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: he's got to go.
- 1:14:56Speaker 7: Yeah, no, I think he does need to be in
- 1:14:58Speaker 7: the workplace at some level. You can't just sit home
- 1:15:00Speaker 7: and play video games.
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: He ain't lying. You wake up and then you go
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: by his room and all he's doing is in there,
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: fire mission, talking to everybody online.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that's not okay. Yeah, I ain't trying to hear that.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: My son is only 15, so I'm not dealing with
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: this yet. But at the same time, I've had a
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: roommate back in the day where I was working my
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: butt off and grinding and just doing everything I could
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: to hustle and And I watched this roommate just be
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: lazy and complain. And I started to build resentment. I
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: was like, I'm out here doing my thing, hustling and
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: trying to everything I can. So I don't want to
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: hear it from you. You're watching people's court all day.
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: I'm jealous.
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: But so you and your wife, you're like, you know,
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: you're at odds right now.
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: Yes, because she's like, he's going through a lot right now.
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: And I'm like, no, he's not going through a lot
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: because he's not working. When you work, you go through
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: a lot. He's not.
- 1:15:49Speaker 8: He's just being at home.
- 1:15:51Speaker 5: So I feel like that's my like I'm at my limit.
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: Either he goes or like they can live together.
- 1:15:57Speaker 8: Maybe I'll go figure something out.
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: See, ultimatums are weird, though. Like, if you tell her that,
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: I don't know how, Candace, I don't know how you
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: would react. Like, to an ultimatum, I don't think you'd
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: do well with it.
- 1:16:08Speaker 5: No.
- 1:16:08Speaker 6: I mean, no one does well with ultimatums.
- 1:16:09Speaker 4: Oh, Eric would be out the house. You and Enzo
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: would be chilling.
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: You'd be like, sorry, Eric. Well, here's your bags.
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: I'll help you pack.
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: No.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: That would never happen. Well, and I know, like you said,
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: if someone is going through a mental health crisis, then
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: that's different. But I don't know. This doesn't sound necessarily
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: like a mental health crisis. No, I sound like he's lazy.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: You don't feel like he really genuinely needs help mentally,
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: do you? Or maybe you do.
- 1:16:36Speaker 5: I do.
- 1:16:36Speaker 8: I understand mental health. I don't know. I don't think
- 1:16:38Speaker 8: he needs it. But if he did, I would get
- 1:16:40Speaker 8: it for him. Like, I would help. I would do
- 1:16:42Speaker 8: whatever I needed to to make sure he got the
- 1:16:44Speaker 8: help that he needed if he really needs the help.
- 1:16:46Speaker 5: I just don't know if that's exactly what's going on.
- 1:16:49Speaker 6: Well, you have to find out. It might be. Maybe
- 1:16:51Speaker 6: he's hiding it from you.
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: But you also know your kids. I hope so. Well,
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: some people do. I feel like I can look at
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: my son if he's lying to me and I know
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: he's lying. And I know if I feel like he's
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: going through something, he doesn't have to say anything to me.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: And I know when he's just being lazy. Yeah, for sure.
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: Well, Dad, good luck and I hope it works out.
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: And I'm sure it will. And I think one day
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: you'll look back at this and you'll be like, well,
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: it all figured itself out, but I know when you're
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: going through it, it's not easy.
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: I hope so. I do. All right.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: Well, good luck. Some kids know what they're doing at 19,
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: and they have it all figured out, and they're, like, driven,
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: and some kids aren't.
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: Yep.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: I knew what I wanted, so I was going for
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: it right away. Same. Yeah, same.
- 1:17:28Speaker 6: I was lucky.
- 1:17:29Speaker 5: Same.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: You knew what you were doing, right? Yeah. That's why
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: I ended up in the Army. Yeah, that's true. Well,
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: it all worked out. Look at you now.
- 1:17:36Speaker 5: You're thriving.
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: Let's get out of here. We'll see you tomorrow. It's
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: Mix 102.9. Ability Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Poo. Tomorrow, yes,
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: of course, it's a Friday.
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: That means.
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: Wheel of Misfortune.
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: We'll do that at around 8.30. Let's see if Pooh
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: loses again. If Pooh loses tomorrow, we are renaming it
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: just the Wheel of Pooh's Torture. Because he has lost nonstop.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: Part of the reason he got a brand new car
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: from Grapevine Honda, because we just felt so bad. And
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: he's always a good sport about it when he loses.
- 1:18:06Speaker 6: Yeah, he follows through for the most part.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: Yeah, because basically if you lose the trivia, you have
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: to do something ridiculous on the wheel. So we'll play
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: that tomorrow. Candice, what do you got going on today?
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: You need to go home and take a nap.
- 1:18:15Speaker 6: I need a nap so bad, like you would not believe. Yeah,
- 1:18:18Speaker 6: maybe I'll have time for that.
- 1:18:19Speaker 7: But I got to go find Enzo a Halloween costume
- 1:18:21Speaker 7: because we have Trunk or Treat tonight.
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: Oh, already?
- 1:18:23Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: This is out of control.
- 1:18:25Speaker 6: Well, it's already October 8th.
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: That's 8th.
- 1:18:28Speaker 7: I know, but it just lines up with no school tomorrow,
- 1:18:31Speaker 7: so it works out.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: Ah, okay. A lot of people on fall break next week.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: All right, fine, fair. Yeah, we'll enjoy that.
- 1:18:36Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: I'm going to go home and try to take a
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: nap as well. Pooh's been sick for the last hour
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: because he ate a cucumber.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: Yeah, and then I realized the seasoning it expired oh
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: it's not.
- 1:18:47Speaker 6: The cucumber it's the everything but the.
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: Bagel so i apologize for blaming you for yeah my gut.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: I'm trying to get him to eat healthy he's a
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: cucumber and said his body's rejecting it it was because
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: it's healthy a cucumber is 95 percent water he said
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: it got him sick hydration.
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: Yeah see you said 95 water that five percent though.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: No tore me up your body is so used to
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: just ranch and gravy that it's rejecting water your body
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: is literally like oh i don't know about this stuff
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: h2o water i don't know about this send that back
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: out yeah Turns out the seasoning he was putting on
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: it has been inspired for like three years. Yeah.
- 1:19:31Speaker 6: February of 25. I didn't.
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: Realize that.
- 1:19:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: Check your pantry, people.
- 1:19:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:19:38Speaker 6: Check your berries.
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: Check your berries. Look at your berries today in the mirror.
- 1:19:42Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: We'll see you later. Have a good day.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: Bye.
- 1:19:44Speaker 5: Bye.
