- 0:39that's all right right
- 0:40there what's that uh oh he
- 0:45froze oh no oh no he froze
- 0:52up on me man I saw that oh
- 0:55look at pk what up dan
- 0:59So before we dive into too
- 1:01much of the stuff and start
- 1:02cooking up the Cajun yesterday,
- 1:04I threw a dart and I said,
- 1:05if you guys saw where it landed,
- 1:07you'd be laughing your ass off.
- 1:09So I did take a picture of it.
- 1:13So you could see where it
- 1:14actually landed yesterday.
- 1:18And here it is.
- 1:21So you see the dartboard is up here.
- 1:24This is the shelf.
- 1:25And I nailed the front edge.
- 1:28What is that, like a sixteenth of an inch?
- 1:32Dude,
- 1:33I would consider that to be a
- 1:34bullseye because that's
- 1:35harder than actually hitting a bullseye.
- 1:38Yeah.
- 1:39Not my best attempt at hitting a bullseye,
- 1:43which is way up here, right?
- 1:49That's fantastic.
- 1:50I stuck that son of a gun
- 1:51right in the front edge of that shelf.
- 1:59I don't ever quit on the dart throat.
- 2:01I don't care if it takes you
- 2:02eight years to get one.
- 2:03I'll lose my mind when it finally happens.
- 2:05I probably will too.
- 2:06I'll probably just shut down the show.
- 2:07Yeah, I'm calling it good.
- 2:10Do the Costanza.
- 2:11Do the Costanza.
- 2:12Throw the hands up.
- 2:13See you guys.
- 2:14It's been great.
- 2:15I'm out of here.
- 2:20Oh, I love it.
- 2:24Absolutely love it.
- 2:25Sometimes I say references.
- 2:26I have no idea if people
- 2:26even know what I'm talking about.
- 2:29You know what?
- 2:29It's fine.
- 2:30They either get them or they don't.
- 2:33You either get them or they don't.
- 2:33If you talk to me for more
- 2:34than ten minutes at a time,
- 2:36I am liable just to start
- 2:38throwing out song lyrics
- 2:40that are related to what we're saying.
- 2:42And I don't care if you
- 2:43don't know what song I'm
- 2:44talking about or not.
- 2:45I'll look at you like this for a second.
- 2:48And if you don't get it,
- 2:48we'll just move on.
- 2:49It's fine.
- 2:49I'm not going to break my heart.
- 2:52All right.
- 2:52For Dan Church.
- 2:54Here we go, Dan.
- 2:59You ready?
- 3:00Oh!
- 3:01That one was actually close.
- 3:03That one was actually close.
- 3:05We didn't hit the shelf.
- 3:07About an inch and a half
- 3:08from the bullseye.
- 3:08Okay.
- 3:08Getting close.
- 3:11Getting close.
- 3:12Bringing that one in.
- 3:13It felt good coming out of the hand.
- 3:14Felt good.
- 3:16And I was like, oh,
- 3:17and it just a tidge high.
- 3:18Well,
- 3:18it's like kicking a soccer ball or
- 3:22throwing a baseball or
- 3:23making contact with a bat.
- 3:24Like, you know, right when it hits, like,
- 3:26oh, that's going to be good.
- 3:27I was waiting for that to be,
- 3:31because it was for you, man.
- 3:32It was, it was dedicated to Dan Church.
- 3:35It was to Dan Church.
- 3:36Garage gym fit, fitnesser in the,
- 3:39in the space.
- 3:41I do this very, very fit.
- 3:43That is no question,
- 3:43no question about that.
- 3:46Well, speaking of Dan Church,
- 3:48where I met him was at MFC.
- 3:50The qualifiers for Masters
- 3:52Fitness Championships were
- 3:54just a week ago.
- 3:56They think they closed up?
- 3:58Well, Sunday, actually.
- 4:01So about three days ago.
- 4:04You did those qualifiers.
- 4:05Yeah, I did.
- 4:06Yeah, I did.
- 4:09So was it two years ago?
- 4:12Yeah.
- 4:13You competed in the RX division.
- 4:15In the RX division.
- 4:17As it stands right now,
- 4:18as long as I make it
- 4:19through video review fine,
- 4:22because the leaderboard is not final yet,
- 4:24or at least I haven't
- 4:24gotten an email that says that it is yet,
- 4:26I will be competing in Elite.
- 4:31I currently am in
- 4:31seventeenth place as far as
- 4:33that's concerned.
- 4:34And the way they work at an
- 4:36MFC is that everybody does
- 4:38a qualifier the same.
- 4:40Yep.
- 4:40Top twenty go in the elite division.
- 4:43Next twenty go into the RX division.
- 4:45Correct.
- 4:46Correct.
- 4:47Correct.
- 4:48So about that.
- 4:52So I don't read instructions well.
- 4:56We went over that last week.
- 4:58Yeah.
- 4:58Right.
- 5:00Um, so following up from that,
- 5:02you and Bill Leahy,
- 5:03it must be something about the Bayou.
- 5:04Oh, dude, here's the thing.
- 5:07And it's my own fault, which I mean,
- 5:09it's always my own fault,
- 5:10but it's my own fault
- 5:11because I just assume things, right?
- 5:13I assume that if you're
- 5:14going to program a two K
- 5:16row into a hundred and
- 5:17fifty burpees over the rower,
- 5:18that the hundred and fifty
- 5:21burpees over the rower is
- 5:22the important part because
- 5:23your tie break time is your row time,
- 5:26right?
- 5:27Well,
- 5:29The row was worth sixteen
- 5:30reps for some reason.
- 5:32I've completely skipped over that.
- 5:34Which to be fair, it wasn't just me.
- 5:37But I feel like,
- 5:39and I haven't asked if that
- 5:41was in fact the case,
- 5:41but I was the first person
- 5:42to bring it to their
- 5:43attention because after I
- 5:45mentioned them on Instagram,
- 5:46they put up a story like
- 5:48ten minutes later saying, hey, if you,
- 5:52you know,
- 5:53if you miss this part on the score sheet,
- 5:56email this to the scoring
- 5:58people or whatever.
- 5:59Well,
- 5:59that's what they did for me initially,
- 6:01right?
- 6:01So, and when they did,
- 6:03whoever's on the other end
- 6:04of their Instagram, excuse me,
- 6:08Literally sent me a link.
- 6:09Hey,
- 6:10this is the email address to send an
- 6:14email to to get your score corrected.
- 6:16So I did that.
- 6:17And then I waited.
- 6:19And then I waited.
- 6:21And then I waited.
- 6:21And I saw other people
- 6:22moving around me on the scoreboard.
- 6:24Like I went from twenty
- 6:25fifth down to twenty eighth.
- 6:27And I was like.
- 6:29Something's not right.
- 6:31And I got it in the meantime, Thursday,
- 6:34I believe that was,
- 6:35I got an email or a message
- 6:37rather back from, uh,
- 6:40from Gmail saying that, Hey,
- 6:42we tried to deliver this email.
- 6:43It didn't go through for whatever reason.
- 6:44We're going to try again for
- 6:45the next twenty four hours or whatever.
- 6:47And it didn't connect in my
- 6:50brain that maybe I had the
- 6:53wrong email address.
- 6:56I had the wrong email address.
- 6:58They sent me,
- 7:00the one that they sent was
- 7:01Masters Fitness Collective
- 7:02and not MastersFitnessChampionship.com.
- 7:06So I took a screenshot and
- 7:09messaged them again and said, hey,
- 7:10I got this background email
- 7:12and I still haven't heard anything,
- 7:13et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
- 7:14And when I was on the other end,
- 7:15I was like, oh yeah,
- 7:17that's the wrong email.
- 7:18My bad.
- 7:19Here's the right one.
- 7:21So that was,
- 7:22I don't remember if it was
- 7:23Thursday night or Friday morning,
- 7:24whatever it was.
- 7:27um sent a new email with the
- 7:28correct address this time
- 7:30and I still didn't hear
- 7:31anything back okay now in
- 7:34the meantime we got my son
- 7:36graduating from high school
- 7:39um I was just coming back
- 7:40from being uh slightly
- 7:43injured as far as I was
- 7:44concerned during the week
- 7:46um and just had a lot of
- 7:48stuff going on and then
- 7:49it's kind of at least it
- 7:50was to me letting me get in
- 7:51my head demoralizing watching people just
- 7:54Go ahead of me and my score not moving.
- 7:57I was getting frustrated.
- 7:58I was getting aggravated.
- 8:00Me and Dan were talking about it.
- 8:02He was like, dude, just do it.
- 8:05At that point,
- 8:05I was so aggravated that my
- 8:07score hadn't been fixed
- 8:08when they told me it was
- 8:09going to be fixed.
- 8:10And I saw other people moving.
- 8:12I just was going to not do the last two.
- 8:14I didn't care at that point.
- 8:16It was bothering me.
- 8:18Dan Church convinced me, go ahead,
- 8:20just do it.
- 8:21It's a good training piece, nothing else.
- 8:22Just do one of them.
- 8:24Friday night, I get off work.
- 8:26I go to the gym.
- 8:28I do the three rounds of
- 8:33dubs and thrusters, rest a minute,
- 8:35and then three rounds of
- 8:36toes and thrusters, rest a minute.
- 8:39Toes and thrusters are twenty-one toes bar,
- 8:42nine thrusters, one fifteen.
- 8:45I was the only person in the gym
- 8:47It was Friday afternoon,
- 8:48I had a long day at work Friday, like,
- 8:51what in the best headspace to begin with?
- 8:53Did the first part, rested,
- 8:56started the second part,
- 8:59got to fifteen toes on the second set.
- 9:03And I was thinking about, I was like,
- 9:07your score hasn't changed.
- 9:08Well, this hurts.
- 9:09Why are you doing this?
- 9:10Et cetera, et cetera.
- 9:11So I just stopped, Scott.
- 9:13flat out just cut it down.
- 9:15I said, I got two more days to do this.
- 9:18I'm aggravated, like annoyed, whatever.
- 9:21So I shut it down.
- 9:24Thankfully, I did not delete the video.
- 9:28Okay, that's gonna come into play later.
- 9:31That happens.
- 9:32I go home Friday night.
- 9:34I get an email from
- 9:36whoever's on the other end
- 9:37of the school ring thing and said, hey,
- 9:38man, I am real sorry.
- 9:41I've been traveling all day long.
- 9:42This was at like seven thirty,
- 9:43eight o'clock Friday night.
- 9:45Been traveling all day.
- 9:46Just got you just saw this email.
- 9:48I fixed your score.
- 9:50I went from twenty eighth to twenty first.
- 9:53Now I'm one spot up,
- 9:54which is about considering
- 9:56where my scores were,
- 9:56which is about where I should have been.
- 9:58And I was like, oh, so now
- 10:02Now my brain goes from, oh, you know,
- 10:06from to hell with this.
- 10:07I don't feel like doing this.
- 10:08I guess I need to go ahead and do these.
- 10:10Now, Sunday, this past Sunday,
- 10:12we're having Brody's graduation party.
- 10:16In my head,
- 10:17and this is another thing me
- 10:18and Dan were talking about,
- 10:19I thought the qualifiers
- 10:20ended on Monday the nineteenth.
- 10:24So Saturday,
- 10:25I went to the gym in the morning.
- 10:26I snatched while Jennifer was doing class.
- 10:30I got with one of my
- 10:31partners that I normally
- 10:32train with and whatnot.
- 10:33We were supposed to go back
- 10:34later that day and just train.
- 10:35Because in my head, I was like,
- 10:36I'm going to come do one of
- 10:37them Sunday morning.
- 10:38I'll do the other one Monday morning.
- 10:39You know, it'll be what it'll be.
- 10:44Thankfully, again,
- 10:45Bernard texted me and said, hey,
- 10:47they were leaving to go on vacation.
- 10:49He had stuff to do around the house.
- 10:50He wasn't going to come train.
- 10:52So I went back to the gym and I said, well,
- 10:54let me do this other one.
- 10:56The lunge, handstand pushup, box jump over,
- 11:01bar muscle up.
- 11:02Let me go ahead and knock
- 11:03this one out while I'm here.
- 11:05It's not going to be that long.
- 11:06It's all stuff that I'm pretty decent at,
- 11:08whatever.
- 11:09So I did that one, finished it, mind you,
- 11:12got all the way through it.
- 11:14Sunday rolls around.
- 11:16Sunday,
- 11:17we were at my wife's aunt's house
- 11:21from nine thirty in the
- 11:23morning till four o'clock
- 11:25in the afternoon.
- 11:26At some point, I check my phone,
- 11:28check Instagram,
- 11:29and I see a story from MFC that said, hey,
- 11:34athletes,
- 11:34make sure you get your scores
- 11:35put in by eight p.m.
- 11:37Eastern time tonight.
- 11:39And I went, oh, they're due today.
- 11:46Oh, damn.
- 11:48Now what?
- 11:49Because I can't, we can't just leave.
- 11:51It's my son's graduation party.
- 11:52Like if there's people still
- 11:53lingering over there and we
- 11:54have to pick all this stuff
- 11:55up and whatnot,
- 11:56like it was a whole thing.
- 11:58So by the time I get home,
- 12:00it's like five thirty.
- 12:02Dan will tell you,
- 12:02me and him texted again about it.
- 12:04And I was like, holy shit, dude,
- 12:06like I did not realize.
- 12:08Like I had a swore on a
- 12:09stack of Bibles that they
- 12:10would do on the nineteenth,
- 12:11not the eighteenth.
- 12:12And he was like.
- 12:14Well, you got time to do it.
- 12:15And I'm like, I had an hour and a half.
- 12:17No, I do not have time to do it.
- 12:19Plus I've been sitting
- 12:20around outside in the sun all day long.
- 12:23I've barely eaten anything
- 12:24because there was fried chicken and said,
- 12:26like, it's not,
- 12:28I try to eat well all the time.
- 12:30Like it's not going to end well.
- 12:32And I said,
- 12:32I do have my three quarters of
- 12:35the workout score from Friday.
- 12:40I guess I'll submit that.
- 12:42And I did.
- 12:44And I still managed to sneak
- 12:46in into the elites.
- 12:53So moral of the story, boys and girls,
- 12:54read the instructions.
- 12:57And don't get in your own
- 12:58head over score adjustments.
- 13:00Yeah.
- 13:01I was telling Dan about that.
- 13:02And I told a couple of
- 13:03different people I talked to about it.
- 13:04I was like, it was so stupid on my part.
- 13:08just finish.
- 13:09Like I had plenty of time to finish it,
- 13:12to finish the actual workout.
- 13:14And I was just letting
- 13:15myself get aggravated
- 13:17enough where I was like, this is stupid.
- 13:19This hurts.
- 13:19Why am I doing this?
- 13:20Why am I hurting all this
- 13:22much for no good reason in
- 13:24my head at that point?
- 13:26And I just was like, this is dumb.
- 13:27And I stopped and actually just finished.
- 13:31I had, I thought about it.
- 13:32I did the math Scott the
- 13:33other day and I said,
- 13:36I literally had what was it
- 13:39six plus nine and like I
- 13:41had like twenty seven
- 13:43burpees and eighteen
- 13:44thrusters left to do and I
- 13:45was like nah this is dumb
- 13:51this is dumb I'll do it
- 13:53I'll do I'll redo it later
- 13:54for no good reason so
- 14:00Yeah.
- 14:01Two things we learned.
- 14:02Three,
- 14:04you need to read the directions better.
- 14:06Read all the instructions.
- 14:07Double check your,
- 14:08and with that double check, the due date.
- 14:12A hundred percent.
- 14:14Two, Corey is a fit freaking dude.
- 14:18And three, he might be a head case.
- 14:21Oh, yeah.
- 14:21A hundred percent.
- 14:22A hundred percent.
- 14:25I am very, very driven, like, not very,
- 14:29very, but like when I see,
- 14:30like when the leaderboard
- 14:31went live and I saw where I was,
- 14:34I was like, oh, okay, cool.
- 14:36We're good to go.
- 14:37And then when I realized
- 14:37that my score was actually
- 14:39better than what it was supposed to be,
- 14:41then I was like, oh, even better.
- 14:45And then when it didn't get changed,
- 14:46immediately, well, not immediately,
- 14:49but over the course of a couple of days,
- 14:51in which it was nobody's fault, like,
- 14:54It wasn't their fault.
- 14:55He just sent me the wrong email.
- 14:58It wasn't malicious by any
- 15:00stretch of the imagination.
- 15:03But I didn't know any of that.
- 15:05And so my brain immediately goes to, well,
- 15:07these people are retarded
- 15:08and I'm not doing this anymore.
- 15:11And the reality is you
- 15:13submitted the wrong score
- 15:14and really needed to be
- 15:16patient in them getting to fixing it.
- 15:19A hundred percent.
- 15:20A hundred percent.
- 15:22Oh, it's my own fault.
- 15:23I'm well aware of that.
- 15:26What's that?
- 15:26They didn't have to fix it.
- 15:28No.
- 15:28They didn't have to fix anybody's.
- 15:30They fixed everybody's, though.
- 15:32I was pretty excited.
- 15:33I was glad for that.
- 15:35The only place that they
- 15:36showed those sixteen reps
- 15:38was on the scorecard.
- 15:41Well, I did all these workouts by myself.
- 15:43I didn't use the scorecard.
- 15:44I never printed a scorecard.
- 15:46I take that back.
- 15:47The only one I did with somebody else,
- 15:49I had Jeff there when I did
- 15:50the snatch ladder.
- 15:53because I couldn't see my
- 15:54time on my phone to be able
- 15:57to know when to stop and
- 15:59when to start and all that
- 15:59other good stuff.
- 16:00So I had him there just to
- 16:01kind of count it and to
- 16:03keep track of my reps for
- 16:04me because it was a minute for time,
- 16:07two minutes for reps,
- 16:08two minutes for reps,
- 16:09and then three minutes for reps.
- 16:13So there's that.
- 16:14And they also, like those last two,
- 16:16had some off-the-wall tie-break times.
- 16:21Like if you have two...
- 16:23got two pieces that you got
- 16:25to do right two three round
- 16:27things with a minute break
- 16:29in between what do you what
- 16:31would you think scott would
- 16:32be the tie break I don't
- 16:36know completion of the
- 16:37first three rounds is three
- 16:40rounds rest a minute three
- 16:41rounds yeah sure yeah it's
- 16:44not you know where their
- 16:47leaderboard is housed uh
- 16:50competition corner
- 16:56How did Dan Church do?
- 16:58Dan is in RX, and I think he's right on.
- 17:04He might, if somebody else gets penalized,
- 17:06I think he was telling me,
- 17:08he might be able to sneak in.
- 17:09Meh.
- 17:09That dude, he's.
- 17:16You want me to tell you what he told me?
- 17:19Yeah, twenty-six.
- 17:20You want me to tell you what he told me?
- 17:22He said, I guess if I qualify to RX,
- 17:24I have to go and win it
- 17:25because I did pretty well
- 17:27in Elite the last time I went.
- 17:33Yeah.
- 17:36I think Dan is a better
- 17:37in-person competitor.
- 17:39I think you're a better
- 17:40in-person competitor.
- 17:41This online stuff is just
- 17:43not good for my friends.
- 17:46I need people...
- 17:49on either side of me.
- 17:50Like I needed to be an actual race.
- 17:52I need to see what's going on.
- 17:54No to push or not to push
- 17:56like I need all of that.
- 18:03Did you see where Jamie finished?
- 18:05And I didn't but I had a pretty good idea.
- 18:10So yeah, that's what I figured.
- 18:15Did you see to see who's in third?
- 18:18Really?
- 18:20That's a name I ain't seen in a while,
- 18:21dude.
- 18:22She's always at MFC.
- 18:25Always.
- 18:27Why did I think she was in my age group,
- 18:29not in Jamie's?
- 18:30She was.
- 18:32So up until this year,
- 18:34she was in thirty five to thirty nine.
- 18:37OK.
- 18:38But her mom does this event.
- 18:40So they say her and her mom
- 18:42were there whenever I went.
- 18:44Yeah, I do remember that.
- 18:47There's Kate Curie,
- 18:48who is a star in our
- 18:51behind-the-scenes at the games.
- 18:55Autumn Spence, I recognize.
- 19:02Just looking around a little bit here.
- 19:06Russell, he was in our behind-the-scenes.
- 19:10Austin Medford is a beast.
- 19:14Thirty-five to thirty-nine.
- 19:19Don't recognize a lot of
- 19:20those people this year.
- 19:22No.
- 19:28There's Corey's division.
- 19:30Yep.
- 19:33I know Jason.
- 19:35Mike Kern.
- 19:36Mike Kern's been in it forever.
- 19:40Paul Clark was actually in RX.
- 19:43Yes, sir.
- 19:45Paul Clark was in RX with me at...
- 19:49Whenever I went in twenty-three good dude.
- 20:00Christian we have known for a long time.
- 20:05Fanny Campani.
- 20:06I've seen that name before.
- 20:12Yeah, it's a fun event man.
- 20:14It's a it's a great venue.
- 20:18My only beef with where it's
- 20:20at is getting something to
- 20:23eat afterwards is so hard.
- 20:29But hotels are right there.
- 20:32Venue's awesome.
- 20:34Lots of space.
- 20:36Great warm-up area.
- 20:47Let's see what we got in the females here.
- 20:51Oh, multiple network errors detected.
- 20:53Oh.
- 20:59We've got total shutdown now.
- 21:02All right, there we go.
- 21:04Let's get the heck out of there.
- 21:11Do you watch the Ariel Lowen
- 21:12video this week?
- 21:13I have not.
- 21:16She asks a lot of people in the video,
- 21:19how often do you cry?
- 21:21Oh Lord,
- 21:22I cried this morning watching a
- 21:24video on frigging Facebook.
- 21:26Today I'm drinking my coffee
- 21:27before I went to coach.
- 21:30So I guess like Dylan cries
- 21:33at every Disney movie and whatever.
- 21:38And she,
- 21:39and I guess she's like a once
- 21:40every six months crier.
- 21:44Emily Rolfe was like a once a month,
- 21:49stuff like that.
- 21:50But I was thinking when they
- 21:52were going through this,
- 21:53like I didn't cry a lot for a long time.
- 21:56Then I had a baby girl.
- 21:59And the minute I had a baby girl,
- 22:01like everything changed.
- 22:03Oh, yeah.
- 22:03Then I became just a fountain of tears.
- 22:07Like a greeting card
- 22:08commercial and I'm like
- 22:09sobbing in the corner.
- 22:12I, you know,
- 22:12you put your memories on Facebook.
- 22:15Like,
- 22:15apparently I shared a video last year,
- 22:17year before last,
- 22:19some dad coming home from service,
- 22:21like literally getting,
- 22:23getting back from being deployed.
- 22:25And his son's at, uh,
- 22:27whatever fighting school he's at.
- 22:29And they got him doing blind boxing.
- 22:31So he got a blindfold and a
- 22:33blindfold on him.
- 22:33And his dad comes in like to
- 22:36spar with him or whatnot.
- 22:38And his dad's talking to him
- 22:39while they're doing it.
- 22:40And he takes the kid a minute.
- 22:42before he realizes his dad.
- 22:44And like, he stops,
- 22:46pulls one of them off and he pulls up.
- 22:47And as soon as he pulls the
- 22:48other one off and looks up,
- 22:49he realizes his dad and he just taps.
- 22:53And like,
- 22:54I was sitting there drinking my
- 22:54coffee going, stupid video.
- 23:01And I will share that one
- 23:02every single time I see it.
- 23:04Like that, that kind of stuff gets to me,
- 23:06like for real.
- 23:09Yeah, Daniel Church,
- 23:11he cries after he does this
- 23:13tradition every year at MFC
- 23:14by downing a whole
- 23:16Giordano's deep dish by
- 23:17himself at the event.
- 23:20I could not do that.
- 23:22There's no way.
- 23:25I don't particularly care
- 23:26for deep dish pizza to begin with,
- 23:27but I wouldn't even know
- 23:28where to start with whatever that is.
- 23:30It sounds like a lot.
- 23:33Well,
- 23:34I like deep dish pizza when it's done.
- 23:39When it's done right.
- 23:41When you go to Chicago and
- 23:42you go to the mom and pop
- 23:44like little shit hole and
- 23:47you get a really good deep dish pizza.
- 23:49That's what I love.
- 23:51The ones that have become a little more,
- 23:54uh, commercial like Giordano's are okay.
- 23:59They're not like what I love.
- 24:01Right.
- 24:03I like when, you know,
- 24:04you're putting your foot in
- 24:05it and it's homemade and
- 24:08it's the family recipe from years ago.
- 24:12And, you know,
- 24:14Eugene's in the back still making it.
- 24:18Yeah, that's right there.
- 24:19He's still making it the
- 24:20same way we've been doing
- 24:21it since we opened the doors.
- 24:22Got it.
- 24:24Exactly.
- 24:24Got it.
- 24:26And, you know, Louisiana,
- 24:27that's all you guys got.
- 24:30yeah I I avoid places that I
- 24:34don't say actively avoid
- 24:35places that's not
- 24:36necessarily true but I
- 24:37avoid places that don't
- 24:38have stuff like that going
- 24:40on if I can help her yeah
- 24:42my wife is a huge mexican
- 24:44food fan she thinks she's
- 24:46mexican for some reason
- 24:47probably just because she's
- 24:48got black hair um so like
- 24:51we've been to almost
- 24:52everyone around here and our favorite one
- 24:55one of our,
- 24:55our favorite one that's in town,
- 24:56I should say, uh,
- 24:58used to be a pizza hut at one place, uh,
- 25:01at one time.
- 25:02And like you walk in and it
- 25:06feels kind of dirty.
- 25:08Like when you walk in, it's not, it just,
- 25:11because like, you know, the old pizza,
- 25:12like the low, low ceilings and whatnot,
- 25:15like, you know,
- 25:15and you can barely see your
- 25:16hand for your face.
- 25:17Like, you know how short I am.
- 25:19And like,
- 25:20I can reach up and damn near
- 25:21touch the ceiling.
- 25:24That's our favorite place,
- 25:25and it's because of that.
- 25:26If you can reach up and touch the ceiling,
- 25:29we're all in trouble.
- 25:32You would have to duck your head.
- 25:33Duck walk into the damn thing.
- 25:34Yes.
- 25:35Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 25:41Sten has never had a
- 25:42Chicago-style deep dish pizza.
- 25:44I've never had a real one.
- 25:46The closest I've ever had to
- 25:47deep dish pizza was
- 25:48whatever Pizza Hut was
- 25:49selling at the time.
- 25:56but you're from the south
- 25:57right like yeah chicago's a
- 25:59six-hour drive right like
- 26:01so it ain't no thing and
- 26:03I'm a bears fan and I've
- 26:05gone to games and all that
- 26:07kind of stuff right so for
- 26:08me like we've done it a
- 26:10couple times um and they
- 26:15used to send me there for
- 26:16work and I would just take
- 26:17my wife and kid with me and
- 26:18we'd stay the weekend and
- 26:20do like christmas shopping and stuff but
- 26:25It's not the best,
- 26:26but in Fort Wayne at night on a Sunday,
- 26:28it does the job.
- 26:30Last time, most of our group, our heat,
- 26:36went out to BJ's Brewhouse,
- 26:39and we shut the place down.
- 26:42That place has good food.
- 26:43For a chain restaurant,
- 26:44that has really good food.
- 26:46And it's got whatever you want.
- 26:48The menu is this thick.
- 26:49It's like a phone book.
- 26:51I brought my wife there twice.
- 26:53Twice.
- 26:55And the first time we went, she was like,
- 26:58this is too much menu.
- 26:59I can't like, there's too much,
- 27:01there's too much.
- 27:02Like it was, it was,
- 27:03she was overstimulated at points.
- 27:04It was too much stuff to pick,
- 27:05to pick and choose from the
- 27:07second time we went,
- 27:08it's just because it was
- 27:09the only place or the best
- 27:10place available to us at the time.
- 27:12So we just ended up going there, but, um,
- 27:16I'm a creature of habit.
- 27:17I ordered, I ordered the same thing.
- 27:20At each restaurant, I have my thing.
- 27:23So it could be the encyclopedia,
- 27:26and it wouldn't matter to me.
- 27:34Well,
- 27:35so I don't know if Corey decided to
- 27:36actually go to MFC.
- 27:38We need to convince him to do it.
- 27:44So the last time I talked to him about it,
- 27:46I said I wasn't sure if I was going yet.
- 27:48Were you still in your, were you still?
- 27:50No, this was, this was Monday.
- 27:53Sunday night after Sunday night,
- 27:56after he got like their
- 27:58leaderboard went live.
- 28:00So I put my,
- 28:01my three quarter score in and I just,
- 28:04we were watching the season
- 28:05finale of American Idol.
- 28:07Cause a boy was from, you know,
- 28:10right here by the house and whatnot.
- 28:12And I guess about seven, forty-five,
- 28:15I went and looked,
- 28:16nothing had came up yet.
- 28:18And in about eight thirty,
- 28:20I went looked again and holy shit,
- 28:23I'm in seventeenth.
- 28:23And then I went to bed at ten o'clock,
- 28:29like I hadn't put much thought into it.
- 28:34Here's my thing.
- 28:34And this is this is real stuff right here.
- 28:37The last time we went, we had I mean,
- 28:40you know,
- 28:40we had a contingent of people
- 28:44from my area that we knew.
- 28:47This time it would just be me.
- 28:50Like Brandon Fontenot did
- 28:52the first two workouts and
- 28:53then he brought his daughter to New York.
- 28:54So he didn't do the last two.
- 28:56So he's not going.
- 28:59I do know,
- 28:59I know people that are going to be there.
- 29:02You know, I mean,
- 29:03obviously Dan's going to be there.
- 29:06My boy Luke is going to be there.
- 29:07You know,
- 29:08people I've competed with are
- 29:09going to be there.
- 29:10Jamie's going to be there.
- 29:13Jamie wants me to go to.
- 29:14Her and I had that
- 29:15conversation the other day.
- 29:19I'll probably go up.
- 29:21I'm sure.
- 29:21Yeah.
- 29:21Well, that's what Dan said.
- 29:22He said, you know,
- 29:25Scott and Jamie's going
- 29:27like you need to go.
- 29:28So I am.
- 29:30We are leaving Saturday to
- 29:31go on Brody's senior trip.
- 29:33Alaskan cruise flying to Seattle Saturday.
- 29:37We cruise on all week and whatnot.
- 29:39Get back on the following Sunday.
- 29:43Yeah.
- 29:43And then I'll be home the
- 29:44Monday after that.
- 29:44So I got time to figure it out.
- 29:48kind of want to go now um
- 29:51for reasons I will tell you
- 29:52about not on camera um yeah
- 29:57but is it because you're
- 29:59keeping receipts a hundred
- 30:01percent okay that's a
- 30:04hundred hundred percent um
- 30:08speaking of other
- 30:09leaderboards uh one went
- 30:10final this week as well and
- 30:13that is the uh semi-finals
- 30:15for the elites went final um
- 30:20No real change on the men's side.
- 30:23Adler wins.
- 30:24Jay Crouch second.
- 30:25Dallin Pepper third.
- 30:27Tudor Magda doesn't get penalized.
- 30:30Wow.
- 30:31So he is going to the CrossFit Games.
- 30:33Jason Hopper, James Sprague, Ricky Garrard,
- 30:36Justin Medeiros, Enrico Zanoni,
- 30:39Colin Bossard, and Harry Lightfoot.
- 30:44So those are your eleven men.
- 30:47And then Chris Ibarra just used TFX to go.
- 30:50So really the top twelve are all going,
- 30:52meaning that Yonah Koski
- 30:53was one spot out again.
- 30:58I feel like Yonah Koski is a
- 30:59hundred and five years old.
- 31:01He's not.
- 31:01We looked it up.
- 31:02Remember?
- 31:03I do I know I just every
- 31:04time I see I just feel like
- 31:05he's been around forever
- 31:06like he's I think I feel
- 31:08like he's been on every
- 31:09single documentary I've
- 31:10ever watched and I know he
- 31:11hasn't been because he
- 31:12ain't he wasn't on the on
- 31:14the first one don't you on
- 31:17the women's side we're
- 31:18final now with sierra meha
- 31:22alexis raptus ariel lowen
- 31:24annika greer finally going
- 31:26to the crop games
- 31:28Maddie Sturt, Danielle Brandon,
- 31:30Haley Adams, Gracie Walton, Amy Kringle,
- 31:35Miriam Von Rohrer,
- 31:36after passing out at French Throwdown,
- 31:41actually punches her ticket here.
- 31:44And we see McGonigal,
- 31:45who qualified through the
- 31:47French Throwdown,
- 31:49so that it takes precedence
- 31:50over this leaderboard,
- 31:52meaning Jennifer Muir gets
- 31:54the eleventh spot.
- 31:57and Caroline Stanley on the
- 31:59outside looking in,
- 32:01who was in the top ten,
- 32:02got penalized for her muscle-ups,
- 32:06and fell out of the top ten.
- 32:11So,
- 32:12and then the next two actually
- 32:13qualified out of TFX.
- 32:15So, I would say, yeah.
- 32:16So, Stanley had one more chance.
- 32:24who's that Caroline so
- 32:27she'll she'll be at
- 32:27Syndicate and if we talked
- 32:29about before we went kind
- 32:30of live on the show looking
- 32:32at the lineup at Syndicate
- 32:34I I have hers a favorite I
- 32:36don't know why you wouldn't
- 32:38who else is going uh the
- 32:41well sisters um I think
- 32:44have a shot um gosh now I'm
- 32:47trying to think but it's
- 32:48just the top two right yep
- 32:52Oh, you have Shelby Neal there.
- 32:54You have the well sisters.
- 32:56You have Caroline Stanley.
- 33:01I feel like I thought there
- 33:02was like five that I could come up with.
- 33:04It had like a legit shot.
- 33:08I, uh, if I'm thinking with my heart,
- 33:10I'm going, I'm going with, uh, Shelby,
- 33:14Shelby.
- 33:15Love that girl.
- 33:15She's awesome.
- 33:18A big fan of hers.
- 33:18Big fan of Caroline.
- 33:21she's young, right?
- 33:22Like how old is Caroline?
- 33:24Yeah.
- 33:24She's young, like early twenties,
- 33:26early twenties.
- 33:28Yeah.
- 33:28She, she's always,
- 33:30she's never turned me down
- 33:31for an interview.
- 33:33Um, she's just a fun person to,
- 33:36to hang around with.
- 33:37Uh,
- 33:38and now she's being coached by Joey
- 33:40Tutora, who's a Columbus guy.
- 33:42Um, so even better stoked for that.
- 33:47Um,
- 33:49And she's got Colton in her corner, man.
- 33:51He talked her up so much on
- 33:53the Savant podcast with
- 33:55them sharing the same coach.
- 33:56They must be doing some
- 33:57training stuff together and
- 33:58comparing scores and stuff.
- 34:00Colton's such a good dude, man.
- 34:02So, yeah, I...
- 34:05I think I'll have to look at it again,
- 34:08and Friday I'll make my official picks,
- 34:09but I think I have Caroline
- 34:11Stanley as the number one
- 34:12pick for Syndicate for sure.
- 34:15Well, I don't need to do it Friday.
- 34:16It's another week away,
- 34:18a couple weeks away,
- 34:19whatever the hell it is.
- 34:21Yeah,
- 34:21I probably won't even be able to keep
- 34:23up with any of it because I
- 34:25probably won't have service on the boat.
- 34:29Yeah.
- 34:30The Wi-Fi on Norwegian is
- 34:32ridiculously expensive.
- 34:35Never done a cruise in my life.
- 34:37We've been, we've been,
- 34:38me and my wife have been
- 34:40like looking at all the
- 34:40various things and whatnot.
- 34:44I'll probably use my phone
- 34:46for like an MP three player
- 34:48and a timer whenever I go work out.
- 34:50Uh, but other than that,
- 34:53probably using it for much just because
- 34:57like to have access to the
- 35:00wifi is stupid expensive.
- 35:01And you only get like,
- 35:02it's like an old school roaming plan.
- 35:04Like you only get so many minutes.
- 35:07Settle yourself for the entire seven days.
- 35:09Oh my gosh.
- 35:10When we first got cell
- 35:11phones and like my daughter,
- 35:12we got her a cell phone, gosh,
- 35:15at like thirteen or
- 35:16fourteen because she
- 35:17actually got home from
- 35:18school before we could get here.
- 35:20Yeah.
- 35:21And we didn't have a landline.
- 35:23So, like,
- 35:23the only way for her to get a
- 35:25hold of us was a cell phone.
- 35:27And our data plan,
- 35:33she blew up every stinking month.
- 35:37And that was when they first
- 35:38came out with Unlimited.
- 35:39And I'm like,
- 35:41what she's costing us in overage fees,
- 35:44like, I'm just Unlimited.
- 35:46Now everything's Unlimited.
- 35:48But we did the same thing.
- 35:50Well, pretty much same thing for Brody.
- 35:52Like whenever he was going
- 35:53to be somewhere where we
- 35:54didn't know where he was
- 35:56going to be necessarily or,
- 35:58or didn't have a landline,
- 36:01but not like that's when he got a phone.
- 36:02He didn't even want to report that.
- 36:03They dealt with my oldest dude.
- 36:06You want to hear what's
- 36:06crazy is my mom where she lives.
- 36:09If I go to her house, if I'm not on wifi,
- 36:11I get no cell service.
- 36:13That's how far in the woods my mom lives.
- 36:17So she can't have a cell phone only.
- 36:20She has to have a landline
- 36:21or she cannot get phone
- 36:22calls unless someone's
- 36:24FaceTiming her or using an Apple device,
- 36:26right?
- 36:28And so I was there when she
- 36:32had the stroke and everything.
- 36:34Her phone bill for that landline,
- 36:38that phone company ought to
- 36:39be taken to jail for what
- 36:41they are charged.
- 36:42Because you know the only
- 36:43people they're getting with
- 36:44this are the elderly.
- 36:45Oh, a hundred percent.
- 36:47or people like my mom who
- 36:48are in the middle of
- 36:49nowhere and have no option
- 36:51but a landline.
- 36:53Absolutely.
- 36:53That phone bill for that one
- 36:54landline was over a hundred
- 36:56dollars a month.
- 36:59Dude, that's robbery.
- 37:01Isn't that insane?
- 37:04That's flat out robbery.
- 37:06That is like,
- 37:07you just going to be stealing
- 37:08stuff from somebody that is
- 37:09bananas crazy.
- 37:10And you know, they're,
- 37:11they are taking advantage
- 37:13of the elderly and people
- 37:15who have no choice.
- 37:17Yeah.
- 37:19Yeah.
- 37:19Oh, you have to have it.
- 37:20Oh, man.
- 37:22So sorry to hear that.
- 37:24When I got rid of mine,
- 37:25it was like a part of a
- 37:26package of like the internet, phone,
- 37:32whatever.
- 37:32All the things.
- 37:33All that.
- 37:34And it was like nineteen bucks.
- 37:36Yeah.
- 37:38Which is okay.
- 37:39That'll make sense.
- 37:40I saw like a hundred and
- 37:41nine dollars and I about
- 37:42shit myself right there.
- 37:43I would imagine so.
- 37:46When we moved into our new house, um,
- 37:50we had one internet service
- 37:52provider and it wasn't working.
- 37:55It wasn't working well enough.
- 37:57My wife, my wife works from home.
- 37:59So we ended up switching
- 38:00back to one of the more
- 38:02main ones around here,
- 38:03I guess you would say.
- 38:04And they asked like,
- 38:05do y'all need a landline?
- 38:09where are I it's like six
- 38:11bucks a month I'm like I do
- 38:12not need anything making
- 38:13noise at my house that does
- 38:14not absolutely need to make
- 38:15noise appreciate it but no
- 38:18thanks what's happening
- 38:19scott I wouldn't even know
- 38:20where to buy a phone right
- 38:23right amazon oh I'm sure
- 38:26everything I am yeah but or
- 38:28or you could plug in your
- 38:29princess phone from oh
- 38:34You're laughing,
- 38:35but I'm pretty sure
- 38:38somewhere in the attic
- 38:39there's an actual old school, like,
- 38:44with the antenna.
- 38:45I know my mom still has hers,
- 38:46and she don't throw nothing away.
- 38:48It's probably in her attic.
- 38:49Oh, the cordless with the – With the big,
- 38:52yeah, antenna you pull out.
- 38:53Zack Morris-looking thing.
- 38:55What's up, y'all?
- 38:56Absolutely.
- 38:59That's awesome.
- 39:01It's funny,
- 39:01like when you watch old
- 39:02episodes of friends or Seinfeld or,
- 39:05and they pull out like the old, like,
- 39:07do you think you got any
- 39:08better signal by pulling that thing up?
- 39:10Or was it just, was it the placebo effect?
- 39:14At no point did I pull it
- 39:15out and it was like, Oh, hold on.
- 39:19Oh yeah.
- 39:19That's way better.
- 39:20I can hear you now.
- 39:21Do you remember the first cell phone?
- 39:24Well, not the first,
- 39:24but like one of the early
- 39:26cell phones where only the
- 39:28speaking piece flipped down
- 39:29and they had like a little
- 39:30plastic antenna that was like this much.
- 39:34Did you pull up?
- 39:36And it was plastic.
- 39:37It couldn't conduct anything.
- 39:38No.
- 39:39Oh, yeah.
- 39:42But look,
- 39:43every single time until I got the Nokia,
- 39:46whatever it was, thirty three, eighty,
- 39:48whatever the indestructible one.
- 39:51That one had a hard plastic thing on it.
- 39:53You couldn't pull that out.
- 39:54The cover was to protect the
- 39:56ground if you drop it.
- 39:58Yeah.
- 40:02When we first got a cell phone,
- 40:03we shared it.
- 40:04My wife and I shared it.
- 40:06I was in school at the time.
- 40:08I would take it to school
- 40:09with me to be able to have to call her.
- 40:12If she would go,
- 40:13she would take it to the store with her.
- 40:16We only had one and we would
- 40:17share it back and forth.
- 40:18Yeah.
- 40:22Yeah,
- 40:22cordless phones used to have an antenna.
- 40:24Yeah.
- 40:27Like the old walkie-talkie.
- 40:29So maybe out about six feet.
- 40:33My barbershop has a landline.
- 40:38Yes, Dan,
- 40:39the battery was three times the
- 40:40size of the phone.
- 40:41Absolutely.
- 40:43My barbershop has a landline
- 40:44and they have an old
- 40:47Green, like, receiver sits on the cradle,
- 40:50got the big, long,
- 40:51curly thing plugged into it and whatnot.
- 40:54And not every time I'm there,
- 40:57but almost every time I'm there,
- 40:59somebody calls.
- 41:01And it scares the shit out
- 41:03of me every single time
- 41:04because it's louder than you remember.
- 41:07I promise you that much.
- 41:09And every single time, without fail,
- 41:10it's the same conversation.
- 41:11Because it's right by where
- 41:13my barber's chair is.
- 41:15Like, Jonathan owns the place.
- 41:16He turns around, picks it up.
- 41:18Barbershop.
- 41:21Yeah, we're open.
- 41:24No, we don't take appointments.
- 41:29Yeah,
- 41:29we'll be here until five o'clock this
- 41:30afternoon.
- 41:30Okay.
- 41:32And it hangs up.
- 41:34Without fail.
- 41:34It's the same conversation
- 41:35every single time.
- 41:42Back then,
- 41:42you could drop it from a
- 41:43five-story building, barely a scratch.
- 41:46Dude,
- 41:46I had a NexTel that I called the brick.
- 41:49It was about this big, roughly.
- 41:55After a while,
- 41:57I would try and see if I could, in fact,
- 41:59break it because it was so
- 42:01damn thick and heavy and whatnot.
- 42:04It was practically indestructible.
- 42:05You could drop it.
- 42:06The battery would fall off.
- 42:08Click it back on there.
- 42:09Beep,
- 42:10call whoever you need to
- 42:11call and go on about your business.
- 42:12Do you remember when Nextel
- 42:14first came out with the
- 42:15walkie talkie feature?
- 42:17Like on your,
- 42:19and you'd hear that like every,
- 42:22I would get so pissed if
- 42:24people kept hitting me.
- 42:26Oh my gosh.
- 42:28It was awful.
- 42:30I was working construction at the time.
- 42:31So like,
- 42:33it don't know me at one point that
- 42:34construction workers are the only people.
- 42:36I say the only people,
- 42:37some of the only people on
- 42:37the planet would call each other
- 42:40at five something in the
- 42:41morning and fully expect to
- 42:42have a coherent
- 42:43conversation with the
- 42:44person on the other end of the line.
- 42:47And that was in, when was that?
- 42:51Two thousand eight, something like that.
- 42:54I guess that was somewhere around there.
- 42:57When Nextels were like a
- 42:58thing and we'd be driving
- 43:00to work and you'd hear and
- 43:02then they'd just start
- 43:03talking because you didn't
- 43:04have to wait for anybody.
- 43:05It wasn't like you had to answer it.
- 43:06You could just beep and go to talking.
- 43:09And it was great and it was
- 43:10not great because who knows
- 43:12what they were saying.
- 43:12I don't know if you ever met me,
- 43:15but like most of my friends
- 43:16at the time were just like
- 43:17I am right now where you're
- 43:19not real sure exactly where
- 43:20this conversation is going.
- 43:21Yeah.
- 43:25It's just funny that, gosh, man,
- 43:26how phones have changed
- 43:27just in the last twenty years.
- 43:29Oh, yeah.
- 43:30I think what the iPhone was
- 43:31invented in two thousand eight, six,
- 43:34eight, somewhere in there.
- 43:35Oh, I don't even know.
- 43:40yeah I started to hate those
- 43:41next tells uh because I was
- 43:43in an office setting and
- 43:44people would use those
- 43:45right yeah uh jay birch hey
- 43:51fellas I've been listening
- 43:52but driving hope y'all
- 43:53having a good day hope it's
- 43:56as good as yours brother
- 43:57absolutely I saw jeff on tv
- 43:59last weekend I did too he
- 44:01was uh he was uh no rep and
- 44:06olivia kerstetter I think I saw
- 44:09I don't know if she got no ripped.
- 44:10I'm just giving him.
- 44:11It doesn't matter if you cheat or not.
- 44:12We're going to go ahead and say he did.
- 44:15He was cursed at her at TFX.
- 44:16We got, we got,
- 44:21we got this vocal platform
- 44:23and he's just listening
- 44:24while you're driving.
- 44:24So, uh, net say Milano.
- 44:28I remember someone screaming
- 44:30something at me while I was in church.
- 44:32Yeah.
- 44:32That's what I'm getting at.
- 44:33Like next tail was,
- 44:34that was a dangerous idea.
- 44:36You didn't have to answer the phone.
- 44:37People, you just go to talking.
- 44:40Yep.
- 44:41Yeah.
- 44:43Absolutely.
- 44:43We are so damn old.
- 44:44Getting there.
- 44:47Getting there.
- 44:47But if you keep waking up, Scott,
- 44:49eventually you're going to
- 44:50get old sooner or later.
- 44:53Yeah.
- 44:56Man, those are good times.
- 44:58My daughter still like the
- 45:00first phone we got her was
- 45:02the something slide.
- 45:06The LG LG slide.
- 45:09It like slid up and you had
- 45:10the full keyboard.
- 45:11That's the, uh, the matrix phone.
- 45:18Did it slide open to get the, uh, yeah.
- 45:20So it was like a phone,
- 45:21like a brick phone.
- 45:23And then you slid it and it
- 45:24had a full keyboard.
- 45:26Oh yeah.
- 45:26Turned sideways and you would do, do, do,
- 45:28do, do.
- 45:28This dude here.
- 45:32Oh, officially.
- 45:35Yeah.
- 45:35He's in that baby masters
- 45:36division right now.
- 45:38That only the MFC has, I think,
- 45:41which is the third or fourth.
- 45:43Legends does not.
- 45:44So, yeah, a hundred percent.
- 45:47Yeah.
- 45:48I got to figure out what I'm
- 45:49doing the rest of this year.
- 45:51The only thing I know I'm
- 45:52doing for sure is the Masters.
- 45:57Yeah.
- 45:57This is driving downtown.
- 46:02That's just...
- 46:06I get up,
- 46:07I have some breakfast and I'm
- 46:08going to head on down there.
- 46:09My own bed.
- 46:12Do that.
- 46:13I'm trying to like,
- 46:16and I was talking to Corey
- 46:18about this before I came on.
- 46:19Like I look at the syndicate
- 46:20crown roster and like, is it,
- 46:23is it worth paying the
- 46:24money to go down and have a hotel?
- 46:26And if I'm thinking that as
- 46:27a CrossFit nerd and someone
- 46:28who covers this stuff in the space,
- 46:30what are the spectators
- 46:32thinking about it?
- 46:34And I, and I think, um,
- 46:36Dan brought it up earlier in the chat.
- 46:39And I talked about it yesterday.
- 46:40Hiller's idea of putting the
- 46:42online in affiliate semis
- 46:45last makes the most sense.
- 46:50It makes the only sense as
- 46:51far as I'm concerned.
- 46:52Why wouldn't you do it that way?
- 46:55After them,
- 46:56now we're getting just depleted
- 46:58rosters at these events.
- 47:00Why do...
- 47:02That in the middle, still have live events,
- 47:05and then still have a last
- 47:06chance qualifier.
- 47:09That makes no sense whatsoever.
- 47:11Let's do all the in-person stuff.
- 47:13And the last chance
- 47:14qualifier is your in-person.
- 47:16Or eleven spots or twelve
- 47:17spots or whatever it is.
- 47:19Whatever it is, right.
- 47:20That is your, whatever it is,
- 47:24whatever you want to call it,
- 47:25that's your last chance event.
- 47:31Because CrossFit is putting
- 47:31out fires instead of preventing them.
- 47:34Where I used to work,
- 47:37we were in a place where
- 47:38our system was not keeping
- 47:40up with what we needed from
- 47:42a program standpoint.
- 47:44And we used to compare that to,
- 47:46we're putting out fires
- 47:47while people are throwing
- 47:48Molotov cocktails into the joint.
- 47:55And there's no way to keep ahead of that.
- 47:56No, you can't.
- 47:59Physically cannot.
- 48:02Fifty five masters, no muscle ups,
- 48:03no legless and thirty five
- 48:04pound dumbbell.
- 48:06I did legless.
- 48:08I did muscle ups Monday and
- 48:10legless rope yesterday.
- 48:16That's how I Rx to two
- 48:18workouts in the open.
- 48:20Here's the problem with that
- 48:21thirty five pound dumbbell
- 48:22is that that's light.
- 48:25So now you can go real fast.
- 48:29And Doug Reed.
- 48:31That's only for the open.
- 48:33As soon as you get past the open,
- 48:36you get muscle ups again.
- 48:41Craig says, and we'll talk about this.
- 48:44I don't have a lot of time,
- 48:45but we'll talk about it briefly.
- 48:46Because of the issues with
- 48:47the affiliate judging and penalties,
- 48:49online affiliate semis should be first.
- 48:51If you put it online in
- 48:53affiliate semis first,
- 48:54nobody will be at the in-person events,
- 48:57and you're screwing over
- 48:58the event organizers who
- 48:59have stepped up to take on
- 49:02the burden of qualifying
- 49:03people in person for you.
- 49:04It has to be the other way.
- 49:05It has to be the other way around.
- 49:07It has to be the other way around.
- 49:11Look at what you got now, dude.
- 49:12Like you just said.
- 49:15Look at who's going.
- 49:17Yeah.
- 49:18I mean,
- 49:18five or six people tops on each side.
- 49:23And on the men's side, I think it's worse.
- 49:25It's worse on the men's side.
- 49:27I mean,
- 49:27you're looking at like the Stovall's,
- 49:29the Luke Parker's, Spencer Pancheck.
- 49:35Spencer Pancheck, Stovall, and...
- 49:40bachelor luke parker I think
- 49:44that's the only three names
- 49:45that I was like oh yeah I
- 49:47know who those guys are
- 49:48there might have been a
- 49:49couple of them that like
- 49:50you know you yeah I think
- 49:51I've seen that name before
- 49:52somewhere something along
- 49:53those lines and no
- 49:54disrespect to them dude I'm
- 49:55sure they are really super
- 49:56fit but like by the time
- 49:59they get to that it's so
- 50:02watered down like this this
- 50:06is luke parker's fourth attempt
- 50:10Which is insane, by the way.
- 50:11Right.
- 50:14Todd Jenkins.
- 50:17I hope he shows up.
- 50:20I hope he shows up.
- 50:22Speaking of not making sense,
- 50:23people complained about the
- 50:25WFP being like Rogue and it
- 50:27being more of the same.
- 50:28CrossFit was like, hold my beer.
- 50:30Here's another run something
- 50:31run variation of event one.
- 50:35I had that on the list.
- 50:36We didn't get to it today
- 50:37because we were talking
- 50:37about cell phones.
- 50:38Yeah.
- 50:39And the MFC.
- 50:40But, yeah,
- 50:41we'll talk about that this week for sure.
- 50:45That guy's, man, we went long.
- 50:48The boss is going to be pissed.
- 50:49Yeah.
- 50:53Let me say this before we go off.
- 50:54As far as I understand,
- 50:55talking about Cale Layman,
- 50:56because I hope he shows up
- 50:59and I hope he blows everybody away.
- 51:04Truly.
- 51:04That would be awesome.
- 51:05That would be awesome.
- 51:06Wouldn't that be cool if he
- 51:07like ended up winning it?
- 51:09Yeah.
- 51:09And he's like, there, there's my answer.
- 51:12There's my answer.
- 51:13A hundred percent.
- 51:15And he gets popped for a drug test,
- 51:16like within three hours of taking it.
- 51:22Dude,
- 51:22we had this happy ending and you had
- 51:23to like come in and blow that up.
- 51:29Well,
- 51:29this is what I have to do the rest of
- 51:30the afternoon.
- 51:31I was late on my, um,
- 51:34doing training for work and
- 51:35I have to do a training on
- 51:37AI and how I can use it
- 51:39professionally in the workplace.
- 51:43It is so long and so boring and I'm old.
- 51:48Like I don't want to use AI.
- 51:51I went to school to learn
- 51:51how to write what the hell.
- 51:53Right.
- 51:56But so I got to do that this afternoon.
- 51:59and do a couple more meetings.
- 52:01But with that,
- 52:02we're going to prayers up
- 52:05for kale layman.
- 52:06He comes in, blows out of the water.
- 52:09And then, uh, you got through this bad.
- 52:17Oh my goodness.
- 52:20You guys are awful to the poor guy.
- 52:22I hope he comes in and blows
- 52:23it out of the water with that.
- 52:27We'll see everybody tomorrow
- 52:29on Lunch with the Clydesdale.
- 52:31See everybody then, guys.
- 52:32Bye.
