Heat Builds to Dangerous Levels | Lafayette Louisiana News
Southern Louisiana braces for a dangerous heatwave as high pressure locks in, pushing temps into the upper 90s — hotter than normal for this time of year. While drier air offers slight relief from stickiness, the heat index will soar from moderate to extreme by early next week. With no rain in sight, conditions will only get drier and more hazardous. Stay hydrated, seek shade, and limit outdoor exposure as officials warn this could become a significant, dangerous heat event.
