- 1:06Speaker 1: actually getting over a sickness because that's what we do
- 1:10Speaker 1: over here. Weird. What is it this time? I got strap?
- 1:15Speaker 1: Immediately after having strap wait literally yes, no, I got
- 1:21Speaker 1: done with my round of a mock sicilan And two
- 1:27Speaker 1: days later, in the middle of the night, well two
- 1:29Speaker 1: nights later, I wake up and I'm like I can
- 1:32Speaker 1: barely swallow my spit. It hurts so much. I'm like,
- 1:36Speaker 1: what is happening? Sure enough, I go the next day
- 1:41Speaker 1: have strap. I'm like, nobody else has a strap in
- 1:44Speaker 1: my family, So I have no idea how I got
- 1:47Speaker 1: it a second time.
- 1:49Speaker 3: I'm not gonna lie to you. I thought we just
- 1:51Speaker 3: had not talked about it on the pod maybe and
- 1:53Speaker 3: like you were bringing it up and I was, but
- 1:56Speaker 3: you were like, no, it's again. It's again, dude, that's
- 2:01Speaker 3: so well something you guys like, do you guys wash
- 2:05Speaker 3: your hands?
- 2:05Speaker 1: I was gonna say, I need to just really focus
- 2:08Speaker 1: on that more because I get six so much. It's really,
- 2:12Speaker 1: I'm telling you, it's super duper duper annoying. So it's
- 2:17Speaker 1: been beautiful here. Yeah, And like yesterday I just was
- 2:21Speaker 1: I just felt oh body, and so it's been annoying.
- 2:26Speaker 1: But I'm feeling better today. Good. Glad to hear it.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Glad to hear it. Things are good. How are you doing?
- 2:32Speaker 3: I'm good man For anybody wondering, it's a cool seventy
- 2:36Speaker 3: degrees here in Minneapolis, Minnesota, welcome.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Yeah. I just took Penny for a walk. It was
- 2:41Speaker 1: it was really nice.
- 2:42Speaker 3: It's really great. The apple tree outside my place. I
- 2:45Speaker 3: have like one right next to my window, and it
- 2:48Speaker 3: is blooming right now. And it's other than making me
- 2:51Speaker 3: sniffle a bunch, it is great. It's so pretty, it
- 2:54Speaker 3: smells so good.
- 2:55Speaker 1: It's wonderful. That's nice.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Yeah, And we like really went hard summer for a
- 3:00Speaker 3: day or two.
- 3:01Speaker 1: It's been really nice, dude. And yeah, the trees, the
- 3:04Speaker 1: trees are poppen, all those cherry blossoms, so just so beautiful,
- 3:08Speaker 1: so great fan.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Yeah, and I get to go to Portland this weekend,
- 3:12Speaker 3: so I'm super excited the Land of port Yeah, just
- 3:15Speaker 3: to hang with the crew and eat some food, you know,
- 3:18Speaker 3: talk smart.
- 3:19Speaker 1: It's gonna be great. That'd be really fun. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:22Speaker 1: it should be wonderful. Nice. Have you Syrup and watching
- 3:24Speaker 1: any films lately? I have? I decided to go to
- 3:29Speaker 1: the theater and check out a movie that you talked
- 3:32Speaker 1: about recently, tell me everything. I went and saw The
- 3:35Speaker 1: Accountant Dose, so lovely. What did you think? I thought
- 3:40Speaker 1: it was an okay sequel. Yeah, maybe it was worth
- 3:45Speaker 1: checking out. It was a little different vibe. It was
- 3:48Speaker 1: worth checking out. It also didn't like blow my mind,
- 3:51Speaker 1: but it was pretty good. I'll give it right. Like
- 3:54Speaker 1: I had a good time. Yeah, I felt like it
- 3:57Speaker 1: went on a little longer than it needed. It could
- 4:00Speaker 1: have also been the ten thirty Am showtime. I got
- 4:04Speaker 1: a little sleepy, sure sure in it. But yeah, I
- 4:09Speaker 1: also kind of felt like Ben Affleck put a voice
- 4:13Speaker 1: on that I didn't remember from the first one. I
- 4:16Speaker 1: felt like he was kind of trying to took like
- 4:18Speaker 1: this almost and I was just like, I don't remember
- 4:21Speaker 1: him doing that really at all. That's interesting.
- 4:25Speaker 3: He was definitely more like animated and trying to be
- 4:29Speaker 3: like funny and stuff in this one.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting. I found him to be a little
- 4:33Speaker 1: more distracting in this one, where I didn't feel that
- 4:36Speaker 1: way at all in the first one. But I love
- 4:41Speaker 1: that John Bernthal got featured so much more on this one.
- 4:43Speaker 3: And their relationship is so fun. Those guy's such some
- 4:46Speaker 3: good chemistry together. It's really fun.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I like it. John Berthel is a blast. I'm just
- 4:50Speaker 1: afraid he's such like a force of nature and like
- 4:54Speaker 1: you just you just feel like he's just that's dude.
- 4:58Speaker 1: He was. He was worth going to the theater for.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I probably would wait for this one on streaming. I
- 5:05Speaker 1: wanted just because it seemed like there's more action I
- 5:07Speaker 1: was like, all right, I'll go to the theater and
- 5:08Speaker 1: see it, and it was okay, Yeah, it's pretty fun.
- 5:13Speaker 1: That's where I'm at. Nice. How about you, what was
- 5:15Speaker 1: the last movie you watched.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I saw perhaps my favorite movie of the year that
- 5:20Speaker 3: I don't know if it's gonna get overtaken. I saw
- 5:23Speaker 3: Sinners and.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I want to see it so bad.
- 5:27Speaker 3: So I was hoping you had seen it. But if
- 5:30Speaker 3: you were not feeling great, totally understandable.
- 5:32Speaker 1: No, I haven't seen it.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I don't want to talk too much about it because
- 5:37Speaker 3: it's a super interesting movie to be in on, so I.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Don't know anything about that.
- 5:42Speaker 3: It's all I'm gonna say. It's really great. The cast
- 5:47Speaker 3: is awesome. It's just super super fun. This is Ryan
- 5:51Speaker 3: Coogler's first film that he wrote as well as directed,
- 5:55Speaker 3: and man, he should be.
- 5:57Speaker 1: So proud of it.
- 5:58Speaker 3: It's such a it's just so great. It's wonderful. I
- 6:01Speaker 3: think we're going to get Oscar noms out of this,
- 6:04Speaker 3: despite it coming out so early in the year.
- 6:07Speaker 1: It's going to be It's huge. It's so so good.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I love it so much. It's nice. Yeah, I know
- 6:12Speaker 1: we had talked about doing that. This weekend, and this
- 6:15Speaker 1: weekend I ended up having to take care of the
- 6:19Speaker 1: kids totally. I was supposed to go to my folks
- 6:21Speaker 1: place because Kelsey had a bunch of girls here. I
- 6:24Speaker 1: was supposed to go to my folks place. They got sick,
- 6:29Speaker 1: so I was like, well, I don't want to get sick,
- 6:32Speaker 1: so I don't want the kids to get sick, so
- 6:34Speaker 1: we're gonna go. So I just like entertained them, like
- 6:38Speaker 1: all day long.
- 6:38Speaker 3: We stayed at a hotel which was really nice, like
- 6:41Speaker 3: a little staycation weekend.
- 6:43Speaker 1: We had a little staycation. I had some extra points,
- 6:45Speaker 1: so it wasn't like I was spending a ton of money.
- 6:48Speaker 1: And yeah, it was a great day. But but I
- 6:52Speaker 1: was hoping to movie. Yeah, so I didn't get to
- 6:56Speaker 1: see that yet. I am going to see that one. Dude.
- 6:58Speaker 3: You're gonna love it and see it in the theater
- 7:00Speaker 3: if you can. I assume it's still although no.
- 7:03Speaker 1: It'll still be still in there. Okay, Oh yeah, yeah
- 7:06Speaker 1: it's It was the number two grossing movie this.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you're right, you're right, and I think it
- 7:12Speaker 3: was number one the weekend before, right.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Yeah, before the movie we're going to talk about.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Yeah, but yes, it's wonderful. It's I think it's my
- 7:22Speaker 3: favorite thing I've ever seen.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Oh, Michael Jordan, Yes, Michael B.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Jordan's and that includes Black Panther, which you know I
- 7:32Speaker 3: really enjoy.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, it's just really really great. Everybody
- 7:36Speaker 1: should go watch it. It is Uh, if you.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Don't like violence, you might want to stay away because
- 7:44Speaker 3: it's it is that. But I'm not saying anything else
- 7:47Speaker 3: about it.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I liked it. It was fun. I hope I didn't
- 7:49Speaker 1: raise your expectations too high. I mean, I've seen everything.
- 7:53Speaker 1: It's like everybody else is. Yeah, okay, rotten tomatoes. So yeah,
- 7:58Speaker 1: I'm expecting to be good. I gave an on my
- 8:01Speaker 1: voting on imp is a Tale. She's a damn. Have
- 8:05Speaker 1: you been streaming anything though?
- 8:07Speaker 4: I have.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I have a lot of shows running right now. It's
- 8:11Speaker 1: a lot. Oh my goodness. There's there's so much to
- 8:15Speaker 1: keep keep up with. It's true, but yesterday I got
- 8:19Speaker 1: caught up on the latest episode of the Last of
- 8:23Speaker 1: Us and I don't think that I've talked about it
- 8:25Speaker 1: for this season yet. Nice.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Yeah, i think I'm one behind now, but I'm.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Also mostly caught up. Yeah, this season has been crazy,
- 8:34Speaker 1: especially the second episode B some big stuff went down
- 8:38Speaker 1: pretty wild. But this show is so well made. The
- 8:42Speaker 1: effects are crazy, the acting is great. We got Catherine
- 8:46Speaker 1: O'Hare this season, so that's a big plus, never a
- 8:50Speaker 1: bad thing. They introduced Caitlin Deaver, who's wonderful. This fourth
- 8:55Speaker 1: episode they introduced Jeffrey Wright and that's incredible. Really Oh yeah, fun.
- 9:03Speaker 1: It's great that they keep getting these these actors to
- 9:06Speaker 1: come on and even if they don't stay the whole season,
- 9:08Speaker 1: they just crush and then it's perfect, honestly, like so fun.
- 9:13Speaker 1: That's cool. Yeah, so a big, big fan. It's yeah
- 9:17Speaker 1: as good as the first season, and the first season
- 9:19Speaker 1: was incredible. Love it. I think it's a shorter season
- 9:23Speaker 1: as well. It's like seven or eight episodes or something
- 9:27Speaker 1: like that, so I get it. I mean they're all
- 9:29Speaker 1: like at least an hour long.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Makes sense, right, Yeah, there's stuff happening all over the place.
- 9:35Speaker 1: So yeah, it's COOLNS love it. What about you? Oh
- 9:39Speaker 1: and that's on Max of course? What what are you streaming? Serendipitously,
- 9:45Speaker 1: The Terminator is what I watched and that is also
- 9:48Speaker 1: on Max. The original. Yeah, I watched the original.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I wasn't the more I thought about it, the more
- 9:55Speaker 3: I was like, have I seen Have I seen the original?
- 9:59Speaker 1: I don't, I really remember. I certainly hadn't in a
- 10:02Speaker 1: long time, so I watched it. It's it's a good time,
- 10:05Speaker 1: for sure.
- 10:06Speaker 3: It's kind of amazing to me that, like it's one
- 10:10Speaker 3: of the few movies where I'm like, the sequel is just.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Better, Like it's just so much better.
- 10:14Speaker 3: It's a better story, it's more fun. It's it's all
- 10:17Speaker 3: the way better, which is impressive. That doesn't happen, you know,
- 10:22Speaker 3: I don't even know if it's ever happened. Otherwise, maybe
- 10:25Speaker 3: Godfather I feel.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Like better than one, but it's not.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Like Godfather one's bad either, And I feel the same
- 10:32Speaker 3: way about The Terminator. It ages a little worse than
- 10:35Speaker 3: the second one, just as far as CGI and stuff,
- 10:39Speaker 3: but it's still it's still a fun movie.
- 10:42Speaker 1: It's interesting.
- 10:43Speaker 3: But the whole time, I was just kind of like,
- 10:46Speaker 3: I kind of wish I was watching T two, you.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Know, like I just, well, but remember when this gets
- 10:52Speaker 1: really good, I was like, oh man, that next one
- 10:54Speaker 1: is cool.
- 10:56Speaker 3: But I didn't realize like a bunch of those lines
- 10:58Speaker 3: were callbacks from the first one, necessarily, and.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Stuff like that, So it was cool.
- 11:02Speaker 3: It was definitely worth watching and stuff, but I was
- 11:05Speaker 3: definitely It's also hard for me to tell because I
- 11:09Speaker 3: watched T two like when I.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Was a kid, right, so much?
- 11:13Speaker 3: Is that why I like that one more? But I
- 11:15Speaker 3: think it's actually just objectively a more interesting and fun movie.
- 11:20Speaker 3: It's awesome, That's what I really think. So it's on Max.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Go check it out if you want. It's still a
- 11:25Speaker 3: pretty fun time cool. Yeah, yeah, what do you think
- 11:29Speaker 3: should we do if you plug runs?
- 11:31Speaker 1: Yeah, let's plug it in. Thanks, guess.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Give missus as always over on the Twitter machine where
- 11:35Speaker 3: we're at Avid Indoorsment with a Z.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I can also go to Facebook dot com slash the
- 11:40Speaker 1: av Endorsement. We are available on Instagram.
- 11:43Speaker 3: And TikTok at the avon Endorsement there as well, Blue
- 11:47Speaker 3: Sky Threads, all those kind of things. We're all over
- 11:49Speaker 3: the place. But if you really want to hang out
- 11:51Speaker 3: and be part of the crew, it's about to go.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Patreon dot com slash the Avid Indoorsman. Yeah, it's a
- 11:58Speaker 1: great time on Patreon. I we give our patron a
- 12:00Speaker 1: lot of perks, and one of those is getting a
- 12:01Speaker 1: shout out here let's give it up for Marsha Greasiak,
- 12:05Speaker 1: Mary Fox, Nannett Walkley, Yohm, Brosted, deb Oak, Jackie Houston,
- 12:11Speaker 1: Noel Flores. You guys are wonderful. Thank you. Yeah. And
- 12:16Speaker 1: another perk we like to give our patrons is an
- 12:19Speaker 1: extended version of every single episode that we put out.
- 12:22Speaker 1: We usually do a top five draft that pertains to
- 12:25Speaker 1: the movie we're talking about, and our guest came up
- 12:28Speaker 1: with this topic for this film, our top five anti
- 12:33Speaker 1: heroes draft. Love it, love it.
- 12:35Speaker 3: I think this is gonna be a good one because
- 12:37Speaker 3: I was having a tough time wrapping my head around it.
- 12:40Speaker 1: So I feel like I missed some you know what
- 12:42Speaker 1: I mean. It's like I don't know what counts. Yeah.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I feel like you could make an argument for so
- 12:49Speaker 1: many and I'm like, I don't even yeah. Yeah, So
- 12:52Speaker 1: I just put down the ones that I think. It'll
- 12:54Speaker 1: be fun to see what we think for sure.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Yeah, but that will be very fun and we look
- 13:00Speaker 3: forward to that Greg coming attraction. Don't worry about it,
- 13:05Speaker 3: none of your business. It's gonna happen and it's.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Going to be great.
- 13:08Speaker 3: So we don't have it planned out yet, so be cool, baby,
- 13:14Speaker 3: But it'll be something fun, so look forward to that.
- 13:18Speaker 1: We are here today for a little Marvel madness. It
- 13:22Speaker 1: is sweeping the nation right now. Dare I say we're back?
- 13:28Speaker 1: D We're back, Baby, We're so back. I'm guessing I'm back,
- 13:36Speaker 1: he says john Wick. John Wick, I'm thinking. I'm thinking
- 13:40Speaker 1: I'm back, That's what he says. Maybe this really matters.
- 13:46Speaker 1: We're here to discuss thunderbolts, thunderbolts.
- 13:50Speaker 3: And to do that, of course, we had to get
- 13:52Speaker 3: our Marvel comic Nerd here with us.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Let's give it up for Riley. Is that bad? What's Riley?
- 14:00Speaker 5: Hey? Fellas, how are you? I'm splendid really good. Actually
- 14:07Speaker 5: I was a little worried earlier. I didn't say this
- 14:09Speaker 5: yet to you guys, but Kens and I had a
- 14:11Speaker 5: plan to like have Margarita's on Sinco de Mayo and
- 14:15Speaker 5: then and then the kiddo's just bedtime was chaos, and
- 14:18Speaker 5: so she she fell asleep and we didn't get to
- 14:21Speaker 5: do our like Margarita plan. So we had Margarita's last
- 14:23Speaker 5: night and watched some some you on Netflix, that show
- 14:26Speaker 5: with Penn Badgeley, Oh yeah, and then one Margarita and
- 14:31Speaker 5: half of a Modello and I woke up with the
- 14:33Speaker 5: most ripping headache.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Dudes.
- 14:35Speaker 5: I was like, I'm about to turn Welcome friends, I'm
- 14:38Speaker 5: gonna turn thirty six in like five days or like
- 14:41Speaker 5: eight days. And it's like it just hit me so hard.
- 14:46Speaker 5: I was like liquid ivy, like.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I broke it just it was like I had one
- 14:51Speaker 1: drink and I'm dying. I got to cancel the podcast.
- 14:54Speaker 5: Yeah, I got to cancel it. Last time I had
- 14:56Speaker 5: to postpone it because my daughter was born, and this
- 14:58Speaker 5: time I had half of a beer too many. But
- 15:03Speaker 5: now I'm great, great reason I bounced back. I bounced
- 15:06Speaker 5: back today and I'm feeling excited about talking about this movie.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Oh that's great man. We're so happy to have you
- 15:12Speaker 3: and chat about this. We want to point people towards
- 15:15Speaker 3: sound Fox Music dot Com of course. And then Ken's
- 15:19Speaker 3: has a side project that she's doing. It's called Less of.
- 15:22Speaker 1: The Girl and recently came out with a collab with
- 15:26Speaker 1: Adam Chance, who people may know maybe.
- 15:31Speaker 5: You know him too, Rob, I do Okay.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Forest for the Trees, So people should go check that
- 15:37Speaker 1: out right now.
- 15:38Speaker 5: It's a really beautiful it's a really beautiful song. Yeah,
- 15:41Speaker 5: it's really beautiful and it's I can say with full
- 15:43Speaker 5: confidence that the project that it's a part of as
- 15:46Speaker 5: a whole is phenomenal. So keep your ears to the ground, everybody,
- 15:51Speaker 5: because it's it's amazing and coming out soon.
- 15:55Speaker 3: And I don't know a delicate way to say this.
- 15:57Speaker 3: You guys are good, right, Like you knew that she
- 15:59Speaker 3: was coming out with the solo projects, you were a
- 16:01Speaker 3: part of it.
- 16:03Speaker 5: I was like, wait a second, what am I getting
- 16:05Speaker 5: cut out of here?
- 16:08Speaker 1: No, she just hasn't found out. Yeah what okay? So
- 16:13Speaker 1: now what do I do? Start your own thing and
- 16:16Speaker 1: do more of the guy or the guy? Yeah? Exactly.
- 16:19Speaker 5: You know, did the joke that we we were joking
- 16:22Speaker 5: so much about that when we first sort of connected
- 16:24Speaker 5: those dots and she came up with that pseudonym and stuff.
- 16:27Speaker 5: It was it was really funny because that that comment
- 16:31Speaker 5: that we got way back in the day that really stung.
- 16:33Speaker 5: It was like the first sort of troll comment and
- 16:37Speaker 5: it was that was it's rude as hell as a
- 16:39Speaker 5: comment on a video, and she sounds amazing on the song.
- 16:43Speaker 5: So it's fully unwarranted. Obviously we made that joke a lot. No,
- 16:46Speaker 5: it's she just has a never ending well of amazing
- 16:50Speaker 5: like songwriting, and some of it doesn't like fit our
- 16:55Speaker 5: our dulo brand as much, and so it was like,
- 16:58Speaker 5: She's it's all the pent up like musical magic that
- 17:02Speaker 5: needs to come out. And so when we have the
- 17:04Speaker 5: time peppering in these little solo songs of hers, you know,
- 17:08Speaker 5: is a it's a really fun thing to be able
- 17:09Speaker 5: to do.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's wonderful.
- 17:12Speaker 5: I was just kidding, of course, of course he's okay.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Silly Billy.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Well, we're here, guys to talk about the great movie Thunderbolts,
- 17:20Speaker 3: and I'm really excited. So let's just get after it,
- 17:23Speaker 3: and Rob, will you get us started with a rough synopsis, Yes,
- 17:27Speaker 3: ensnared in a death trap, an unconventional team of anti
- 17:31Speaker 3: heroes Yolaena Bolova.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian goes to Taskmaster and John Walker
- 17:39Speaker 1: embarks on a dangerous mission that forces them to confront
- 17:43Speaker 1: their darkest corners of their pasts. O.
- 17:48Speaker 5: Nice, that's a great synopsis too, because it doesn't give
- 17:51Speaker 5: anything away. It's just as it's really that's effective.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Also, task Master kind of let's yeah, we'll talked about
- 17:57Speaker 1: that later.
- 17:58Speaker 5: That's a yeah, And got built so high and it
- 18:02Speaker 5: was just like on every Easter.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:04Speaker 3: No, I hope that means that actor got more money
- 18:08Speaker 3: because they were built so high. I don't know how
- 18:09Speaker 3: that works, but I hope that's what happened. It's crazy
- 18:12Speaker 3: any whose let's go to rotten tomatoes near what they
- 18:14Speaker 3: have to say critics have. That's coming in at a
- 18:16Speaker 3: pretty rock solid eighty eight percent.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Okay, that went up since yesterday. Really really, that's fine.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Yesterday just creeping out and doing it. I love it.
- 18:27Speaker 1: And audience members even higher up to ninety four percent. Boom, whoo, weird.
- 18:33Speaker 1: We're bad. We're bad, man.
- 18:35Speaker 5: It makes me so happy that that's that we're rocking
- 18:38Speaker 5: did nineties and above. It's feeling nostalgic, like the good
- 18:41Speaker 5: old days.
- 18:42Speaker 3: You know it felt nice? Yeah, it felt nice. Well,
- 18:44Speaker 3: let's go in and talk about what we think. It's
- 18:46Speaker 3: time for our hot take.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Hot take. That's a hot take.
- 18:50Speaker 5: That's a hot take.
- 18:54Speaker 1: This room is an incinerator. Nice, and you feel the
- 18:58Speaker 1: rising temperature. You win. It was a great line. That's fine.
- 19:03Speaker 1: I would go first.
- 19:04Speaker 3: I really really enjoyed this movie. I know we've said
- 19:07Speaker 3: it a couple of times, the We're back. It really
- 19:10Speaker 3: did feel like we had come back to a spot
- 19:13Speaker 3: where they decided on a thematic, the you know, a
- 19:18Speaker 3: point for a movie that they wanted to hit on.
- 19:20Speaker 3: They stuck with it. They fleshed out these characters. The
- 19:24Speaker 3: characters were fun. There was comedy within it, but it
- 19:27Speaker 3: didn't like throw it in your face as much, and
- 19:32Speaker 3: it felt like we covered some deep stuff. I thought
- 19:34Speaker 3: it was very interesting that, you know, like the obviously
- 19:39Speaker 3: the like the theme of depression and mania and bipolar
- 19:44Speaker 3: really seemed to be omnipresent. You know, I'm no authority
- 19:47Speaker 3: on any of those things, but it seemed to be
- 19:49Speaker 3: where we were, where we were leaning, and I thought
- 19:52Speaker 3: that played so well. It kept us from sort of
- 19:55Speaker 3: the like the thing a lot of these superhero movies
- 19:58Speaker 3: run into where it's like and then just big flashy
- 20:02Speaker 3: fight scene happens, and it kept us grounded in like,
- 20:06Speaker 3: you know, these characters who didn't have all the superpowers.
- 20:10Speaker 1: But they were trying hard.
- 20:11Speaker 3: They had a lot of gravitas to them and a
- 20:13Speaker 3: lot of ethos just despite some of it being kind
- 20:16Speaker 3: of messed up right, And I really loved it. I
- 20:18Speaker 3: felt like it worked great. The chemistry between them all
- 20:22Speaker 3: was wonderful. I thought the music was like I couldn't
- 20:26Speaker 3: decide if the music.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Was better in this one, like the score, or if
- 20:29Speaker 1: I just liked it better because they were all better,
- 20:32Speaker 1: you know. I couldn't parse those two things out.
- 20:35Speaker 3: But I loved it a lot. I think it's super
- 20:38Speaker 3: super fun and we love like a flawed character, a
- 20:41Speaker 3: flawed set of characters that you know, come together and
- 20:45Speaker 3: find a way to get through life together. And I
- 20:49Speaker 3: just thought that was such a powerful, powerful message.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Everyone was wonderful. I loved it. No notes, no, no, wow,
- 20:58Speaker 1: there's probably some notes.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Actually there is one note.
- 21:01Speaker 1: My first take it back, my first hot take.
- 21:07Speaker 3: They they gave away the the like after credits, uh,
- 21:13Speaker 3: like the big surprise of it by having the Fantastic
- 21:17Speaker 3: four theme song in the credits.
- 21:19Speaker 5: I saw that too. I literally was like, well, now
- 21:21Speaker 5: we know what's happening in the final post credit thing
- 21:23Speaker 5: because it says Fantastic four theme on it.
- 21:26Speaker 3: I was actually like, when the hell did that happen?
- 21:29Speaker 3: And I was like, Oh, it's gonna happen right now.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Immediately was already looking at my phone. I didn't notice
- 21:35Speaker 1: that at all, So that's great.
- 21:37Speaker 5: My theater has no cell service. So I was just
- 21:39Speaker 5: like reading every name, I'm like, oh, that's the key Grip. Okay, cool,
- 21:42Speaker 5: and there's a boy good for you by the Basket
- 21:47Speaker 5: Boys boy.
- 21:48Speaker 1: So that was my hot take on that. An additional
- 21:53Speaker 1: hot take.
- 21:53Speaker 3: I'm so stoked for where we're going because we at
- 21:57Speaker 3: the end of this I think we have three teams
- 21:59Speaker 3: of events that are have been talked about. So we've
- 22:02Speaker 3: got Sam Wilson's Avengers, We've got these new Avengers as
- 22:07Speaker 3: we find out, and then we were mentioned the the
- 22:10Speaker 3: Young Avengers have been mentioned a couple of times, right, Yeah,
- 22:13Speaker 3: Actually we're all on the West coast in I think
- 22:17Speaker 3: that was a Daredevil thing.
- 22:18Speaker 1: It's just an off added comment. It's not like a spoiler.
- 22:21Speaker 3: So yeah, but yeah, I just think that's exciting and
- 22:23Speaker 3: I'm I'm pumped to see where we're going. And I
- 22:27Speaker 3: kind of hope we see at some point different characters
- 22:31Speaker 3: who may have been in New York's like their worst
- 22:34Speaker 3: case scenario, their void memory what do they call it,
- 22:38Speaker 3: the box that they're in or whatever, the room where
- 22:42Speaker 3: they see their worst moment play out, Because like, did
- 22:45Speaker 3: Peter Parker get stuck in this thing while he was
- 22:48Speaker 3: just going around and he had to like watch aunt
- 22:50Speaker 3: May pass away about you know.
- 22:52Speaker 5: What I mean, But thed swing and he just turned
- 22:54Speaker 5: into a.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Right in the air like he's headed there or something.
- 22:59Speaker 5: I think Wilson Fisk absolutely and I think.
- 23:03Speaker 3: They could do, like if they wanted, they could do
- 23:05Speaker 3: a number of side you know, just like little vignettes
- 23:08Speaker 3: of these characters and what they saw.
- 23:10Speaker 1: And I think that would be really interesting. But overall,
- 23:14Speaker 1: all all joking, I love this movie about yeah, oh yeah,
- 23:17Speaker 1: hot take bro. I had a very similar take. I
- 23:20Speaker 1: also really enjoyed this movie I saw. I was directed
- 23:23Speaker 1: by a guy named Jake Schreier who hasn't done a
- 23:26Speaker 1: ton of movies. He's done a lot of TV. Looked
- 23:29Speaker 1: like he directed all the episodes of that show Beef
- 23:32Speaker 1: on Netflix. I don't know if you guys saw that
- 23:34Speaker 1: with Steven Young and wow, Yeah, I though it was awesome.
- 23:39Speaker 1: But yeah, I thought he did a great job, especially
- 23:41Speaker 1: never working on anything with this kind of budget before.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I'm always impressed with people who can just go right
- 23:48Speaker 1: into a Marvel movie like yes, it's nuts. Eric Pearson
- 23:51Speaker 1: was one of the writers and he helped write Thor
- 23:54Speaker 1: Ragnarok and also Black Widow and you can definitely feel
- 23:58Speaker 1: the connection.
- 23:59Speaker 5: Black with Black Widow had such amazing dialogue and like
- 24:02Speaker 5: character building, you know, for other things that kind of
- 24:04Speaker 5: lacked in it was stellar with the character building and
- 24:06Speaker 5: that that's obvious in this one.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I feel the same. I thought the cast
- 24:12Speaker 1: was great. It didn't have like the huge star power
- 24:15Speaker 1: that so many of the Marvel films have. You do
- 24:17Speaker 1: have Florence Pugh and Sebastian Stan, but yeah, I guess
- 24:20Speaker 1: it didn't really need like all those huge names. I
- 24:23Speaker 1: thought it was kind of refreshing. And I also, like
- 24:28Speaker 1: you had said, bugs, it was just cool how he
- 24:32Speaker 1: was having to tackle his own demons and face when
- 24:35Speaker 1: he was tried, like tried pushing away for so long
- 24:39Speaker 1: in order to not have the void takeover. And it
- 24:43Speaker 1: was like the help from his new friends who were
- 24:45Speaker 1: there for him that helped him get through his rough past.
- 24:48Speaker 1: And I thought it was like really cool that they
- 24:51Speaker 1: put this out during Mental Health Awareness month.
- 24:54Speaker 5: It just felt very really didn't even connect. That's really
- 24:58Speaker 5: that's fitting. Yeah, that's apt.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Yeah, But like you said, I thought it was funny
- 25:03Speaker 1: and touching. I enjoyed the chemistry with most of the characters.
- 25:07Speaker 1: I had higher expectations going into this one because I
- 25:10Speaker 1: thought it looked really good and I thought it met
- 25:12Speaker 1: those expectations, which I have not felt really a lot
- 25:17Speaker 1: with these films in a while, So I was very
- 25:20Speaker 1: excited about that hot take. I loved that Lewis Pullman
- 25:26Speaker 1: plays another character named Bob. Yeah. His stand out performance
- 25:30Speaker 1: was in Top Gun Maverick as another job, So yeah,
- 25:34Speaker 1: that really stuck out to me. I didn't think about that.
- 25:37Speaker 1: That's really great, dude. It's the only other thing that
- 25:39Speaker 1: I've really seen him in. And they really focused on
- 25:42Speaker 1: Bob in Top Gun Maverick. So then it was funny that, yeah, they.
- 25:46Speaker 5: Really focused on again, okay, Bob like every like right.
- 25:49Speaker 5: It almost becomes a joke within Thunderbolts that they they
- 25:52Speaker 5: keep leaning into the they hit it that Bob, you know,
- 25:55Speaker 5: they really lay it on.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Yes, So I loved that another hot take. John Walker
- 26:01Speaker 1: does nothing for me, that whole character not into it.
- 26:07Speaker 1: I liked him in this movie. I don't dislike why
- 26:11Speaker 1: at Russell. I think he's pretty good, but just that
- 26:14Speaker 1: character just does nothing for me. Not into it. I
- 26:17Speaker 1: can kind of understand. I don't like it fair though,
- 26:20Speaker 1: sure interesting hot take. Ye all right, Riley, you're.
- 26:26Speaker 5: Up maybe ye Broskis, I'm not going to reinvent the
- 26:28Speaker 5: wheel heat at all.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I uh. I loved this.
- 26:33Speaker 5: Same as you, Rob. I was like, this looks great
- 26:36Speaker 5: going into it. I was like the marketing was phenomenal.
- 26:39Speaker 5: Everything from all the little like tags and teasers. I
- 26:42Speaker 5: thought the trailers were set it up great and didn't
- 26:45Speaker 5: give too much away, left us left some things to
- 26:48Speaker 5: be sort of surprised about. I loved at that award
- 26:52Speaker 5: show where Wyatt Russell was pretending to be thrashed and
- 26:55Speaker 5: they all came down the aisle. Do you guys see that.
- 26:58Speaker 5: I forget which award show it was.
- 27:00Speaker 1: It was. It was.
- 27:01Speaker 5: It wasn't like a you know, the Academy Awards and
- 27:03Speaker 5: stuff like that, but it was something.
- 27:05Speaker 1: It was big enough, and.
- 27:06Speaker 5: Everybody Julia, Luis Dreyfus, Florence I think that I forget
- 27:10Speaker 5: her name. It plays Task, Passwards, Hannah or Sorry Ghost.
- 27:14Speaker 5: All of them came walking down as a group, and
- 27:16Speaker 5: it was whyat Russell was pretending acting like he was hammered.
- 27:20Speaker 5: I think it was like at a casino and so
- 27:22Speaker 5: he comes in, he's all disheveled and they have to
- 27:24Speaker 5: go present this award. David Harber's there. They're all just
- 27:26Speaker 5: hamming it up, and I was like this, it's giving
- 27:28Speaker 5: me Guardians of the Galaxy vibes, like the camaraderie of
- 27:31Speaker 5: the not just the characters in the movie, but the actors.
- 27:34Speaker 5: So the marketing was amazing and I went in with
- 27:36Speaker 5: high expectations and hopes, and like you said, Rob, it
- 27:39Speaker 5: absolutely met all of them. I was. It really surprised
- 27:45Speaker 5: me just how how well it all worked. There wasn't
- 27:49Speaker 5: like a dull moment in it for me, and they're
- 27:52Speaker 5: surprisingly not a ton of big action sequences, you know,
- 27:57Speaker 5: it was. It was a lot of character building, a
- 28:00Speaker 5: lot of dialogue, a lot of like building, the connection
- 28:04Speaker 5: of these people, the humor obviously, and then the sort
- 28:07Speaker 5: of the heartfelt serious like nature of the of the
- 28:12Speaker 5: story as well. So when those action sequences did come it,
- 28:15Speaker 5: we were like, oh yeah, I'm ready now. But in
- 28:17Speaker 5: between those, I was never bored at The pacing felt great.
- 28:21Speaker 5: I love the acting all around. I think everybody did
- 28:23Speaker 5: a really great job. Obviously the key the key actors
- 28:28Speaker 5: and actresses like Shine the most. I liked a lot
- 28:33Speaker 5: of the choreography for the fighting. I thought that mixed
- 28:36Speaker 5: with really appreciated the cinematography. I'm really critical of that
- 28:41Speaker 5: just having done what we do and what we've done
- 28:43Speaker 5: for so long. The like the Jason Bourne effect that
- 28:47Speaker 5: a lot of movies do where they cut around in
- 28:49Speaker 5: a fight sequence so much that you can't even like
- 28:52Speaker 5: follow what's happening, and it's I feel like they that
- 28:54Speaker 5: technique is used when the fight choreography is less than stellar,
- 28:58Speaker 5: and they make it look like it's more like there's
- 29:00Speaker 5: more going on. It's more fast paced just by cutting
- 29:02Speaker 5: around a lot. In this movie, her very first fight
- 29:04Speaker 5: scene after she comes in on the on the parachute
- 29:08Speaker 5: is like that top down of that hallway and she's
- 29:10Speaker 5: just taken the get and she gets her hallway shot
- 29:13Speaker 5: like Daredevil, and I'm like, this is sick. It just
- 29:15Speaker 5: lingers and you just see every beat and every moment
- 29:18Speaker 5: and then finally when it does cut, it's not too fast,
- 29:20Speaker 5: you know, And that they kept that throughout the whole movie.
- 29:23Speaker 5: I mean, the Sentry fight in the top of the
- 29:26Speaker 5: tower is similar. They don't cut around a ton. It's
- 29:29Speaker 5: like they do when they need to, and they don't
- 29:31Speaker 5: when they don't need to and they just let you
- 29:32Speaker 5: sit with this awesome sequence. I love that and this
- 29:35Speaker 5: movie did that very well and I appreciated that. Yes said,
- 29:39Speaker 5: the pacing felt great, loved the character building, and like
- 29:43Speaker 5: you guys said, the coolest thing was you said it
- 29:48Speaker 5: right away. How they like they picked what they wanted,
- 29:51Speaker 5: the story they wanted to tell, and they did not
- 29:53Speaker 5: They weren't scared to tell it, even though it was
- 29:56Speaker 5: a heavy concept that it ended up sort of like emerging.
- 30:00Speaker 5: You know, you go into it thinking it's going to
- 30:02Speaker 5: be really just it's a lot of goofy characters having
- 30:04Speaker 5: fun and then it's this like really serious topic that
- 30:09Speaker 5: can get really heavy and dark, and they didn't shy
- 30:13Speaker 5: away from it. They leaned into it, utilizing Bob as
- 30:17Speaker 5: this sort of tool to explore the idea, and Yolena too,
- 30:23Speaker 5: but he's like the embodiment of this, like the light
- 30:26Speaker 5: and dark that people whether it's actual like bipolar disease
- 30:30Speaker 5: or whatever it is. It was really cool how they
- 30:34Speaker 5: they really leaned into it. They weren't afraid to talk
- 30:36Speaker 5: about like the dark choices that can come from those
- 30:39Speaker 5: kinds of people who suffer from that kind of thing,
- 30:42Speaker 5: and like you said, I don't, I don't suffer from that.
- 30:44Speaker 5: So it's I sit and I really like feel like
- 30:48Speaker 5: I'm witnessing, you know, taking this in and experiencing it
- 30:52Speaker 5: something that I don't personally deal with. And they they
- 30:56Speaker 5: show it with Lena. They show John's demons a little bit,
- 30:59Speaker 5: you know, like Bucky to an extent, although not quite
- 31:03Speaker 5: as much in this this whole teams experienced trauma and dullness,
- 31:08Speaker 5: and it's this all encompassing kind of like, uh, you
- 31:13Speaker 5: know idea that if you don't have that like connection
- 31:17Speaker 5: and you're this lone wolf facing all this darkness inside you,
- 31:21Speaker 5: like it can it can take over. And I just
- 31:25Speaker 5: thought it was really cool, like uh, Bob again being
- 31:29Speaker 5: this like a really good soul plagued by all this
- 31:32Speaker 5: emotional abuse that he faced that we see later on
- 31:35Speaker 5: his drug abuse again, like talking about being addicted to
- 31:39Speaker 5: meth in a Marvel movie. Like this is this heavy
- 31:42Speaker 5: and it's but it's real, you know, it's real and
- 31:44Speaker 5: genuine and raw, and it's like that's what people in
- 31:46Speaker 5: the real world do go through. And then they literally
- 31:50Speaker 5: show the duality of century and void is such a
- 31:53Speaker 5: powerful tool that they used to show that in like
- 31:58Speaker 5: a tangible way rather than just a com step that
- 32:00Speaker 5: they're talking about depression. It's like, here's this guy embodying
- 32:04Speaker 5: these two sides of such a dark concept. The uh
- 32:08Speaker 5: and void was just I was absolutely floored by, Like
- 32:13Speaker 5: Valentina's kind of she's sort of a villain. Obviously, she's
- 32:16Speaker 5: an antagonist certainly, but like she's not a threat directly
- 32:21Speaker 5: to the team necessarily, and to make Bob both this
- 32:26Speaker 5: like heroic figure and then the absolute antithesis of that
- 32:31Speaker 5: with this terrifying fully like like no light except for
- 32:37Speaker 5: that amazing glint in his eyes as void so scary,
- 32:42Speaker 5: the like shadowifying like ability of just like and just
- 32:47Speaker 5: they're gone. I was like, these are they're just gone?
- 32:50Speaker 5: I didn't before they showed, before they showed the like
- 32:53Speaker 5: dark trauma mind palace that they all were stuck in,
- 32:55Speaker 5: I was like, they're dead for sure. So it was
- 32:58Speaker 5: kind of shocking when Yolena goes into that like willingly
- 33:00Speaker 5: to try and find him and save him, super sinister,
- 33:04Speaker 5: super like scary. And then the whole point comes, you know,
- 33:08Speaker 5: full circle and comes home when everybody, all this whole
- 33:11Speaker 5: team they go in they to face their demons and
- 33:16Speaker 5: help this good soul Bob like conquer his own and
- 33:20Speaker 5: then to see him fighting himself. It was just really cool,
- 33:23Speaker 5: you know. I mean, it's all just such a lovely
- 33:25Speaker 5: metaphor for overcoming that darkness within you and that like ye,
- 33:30Speaker 5: that love and connection with your family or your friends
- 33:33Speaker 5: or your community is what like will really help you
- 33:37Speaker 5: out of something like that. It was very very cool,
- 33:41Speaker 5: very well done. Other funny little like things was I
- 33:46Speaker 5: I was kind of like, whoa, these guys are strong,
- 33:48Speaker 5: Like I forgot that John took the like took the
- 33:51Speaker 5: knockoff Seerum, you know, and like, like this dude is
- 33:53Speaker 5: really strong. Forgot about that. Yolena obviously is your black
- 33:58Speaker 5: widow counterpart ghost such a sick power, like very very cool.
- 34:05Speaker 5: I loved obviously Century as a as an individual with
- 34:09Speaker 5: his specific powers, is so so strong and powerful, and
- 34:15Speaker 5: I really hope we do get to see more of
- 34:17Speaker 5: him and that there's some way that he's able to
- 34:19Speaker 5: control the Void and so we get to see him again,
- 34:23Speaker 5: because he's he's Superman who's got also telekinesis, you know
- 34:26Speaker 5: what I mean, Like it's crazy how powerful he is.
- 34:28Speaker 5: They weren't joking when they say he could take on
- 34:30Speaker 5: the entire adventures by him.
- 34:31Speaker 3: And I'm really I'm really worried that he's going to
- 34:35Speaker 3: be a sacrificial lamb to show how strong Doom is.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Oh, I mean, I feel like that might be what happens.
- 34:42Speaker 5: But that's so popular, But it's something I would I wouldn't.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Be similar to Thanos and Hulk right in Infinity War.
- 34:52Speaker 5: You know, that'd be fair. I mean, if that's that's
- 34:53Speaker 5: what they got to do. But I like that it
- 34:56Speaker 5: wasn't your classic huge final battle sequence, you know it
- 34:59Speaker 5: was ye, it was. We got the Century fight, which
- 35:03Speaker 5: was really cool and just showed how out of their
- 35:05Speaker 5: league they all were against him and how reously powerful
- 35:07Speaker 5: he was. And then once he becomes void, it's this
- 35:10Speaker 5: like psychological stuff that starts to happen. And I thought
- 35:14Speaker 5: that was really cool in again leaning into this idea
- 35:17Speaker 5: of like inner turmoil and trauma rather than destructive like
- 35:22Speaker 5: he didn't even really there wasn't even a lot of
- 35:23Speaker 5: like destruction. There was like the crane fell, and then
- 35:26Speaker 5: it was just this this expanding shadow of sadness across
- 35:30Speaker 5: New York. So I thought that was kind of cool.
- 35:32Speaker 5: It subverted my expectations of what a Marvel movie usually is.
- 35:36Speaker 5: Even like Black Widow had this massive, you know, falling
- 35:41Speaker 5: out of the sky kind of thing, you know, that
- 35:43Speaker 5: sort of world ending stuff. I expected to see more cameos,
- 35:48Speaker 5: and we didn't like see as many. It was really
- 35:50Speaker 5: contained within this group of people. There was references, which
- 35:54Speaker 5: I always like when stuff is referenced and you get
- 35:56Speaker 5: you know, the connection, but there wasn't. It's not like
- 35:59Speaker 5: Anthony Mack he made an appearance, you know. I kind
- 36:01Speaker 5: of liked that it was self contained in this world
- 36:04Speaker 5: with minor references to kind of keep it connected. I
- 36:08Speaker 5: also thought there was some very like cornball moments, but
- 36:11Speaker 5: in like I say that in a good way, like
- 36:14Speaker 5: when they all come to like hug Bob in the
- 36:17Speaker 5: when he's fighting Void. It's like they like John comes
- 36:19Speaker 5: up and he hugs them too, and I'm like, this
- 36:21Speaker 5: is kind of cheesy, but it's also really sweet, you know,
- 36:24Speaker 5: like that they all were able to bond and come
- 36:28Speaker 5: together to do what was needed. So I liked the
- 36:31Speaker 5: somewhat cheesy moments that they were because I feel like
- 36:33Speaker 5: Guardians had that too, similar sort of moments like that,
- 36:37Speaker 5: and as far as my like, it's very few gripes,
- 36:41Speaker 5: you know what I mean. Like you guys said I had,
- 36:44Speaker 5: I really was like, why the f is task Master?
- 36:47Speaker 5: Even in this movie. She was already kind of a
- 36:53Speaker 5: strange character and underutilized in Black Widow, and then she
- 36:57Speaker 5: literally has one line and then gets shot in the face,
- 37:00Speaker 5: and I'm like, and they were trying to feel like
- 37:02Speaker 5: the dupe us with the marketing a little bit, which
- 37:04Speaker 5: was clever, but like it was like, don't I'm thinking,
- 37:08Speaker 5: don't include her at all because she served no purpose
- 37:11Speaker 5: other than just another body in the room to fight
- 37:16Speaker 5: and then or utilize her more because I'm thinking, what
- 37:20Speaker 5: if she didn't die straight away and she's part of
- 37:23Speaker 5: the team, We get to explore her backstory a little bit,
- 37:26Speaker 5: and she creates a bond, and then she dies, and
- 37:31Speaker 5: now you have a little bit of an extra like
- 37:33Speaker 5: Valentina is the reason she dies, not Century, not Bob,
- 37:36Speaker 5: but Valentina is the reason taskmastic. So now they are
- 37:39Speaker 5: really pissed at Valentina for more than just turning them
- 37:44Speaker 5: against each other, you know what I mean. I feel
- 37:45Speaker 5: like there was a way that could have been utilized,
- 37:47Speaker 5: that she could have been utilized more than just to
- 37:49Speaker 5: throw away kill shot, you know what I mean. But
- 37:52Speaker 5: it's not the biggest deal. And I also felt like
- 37:55Speaker 5: Bucky was underutilized. That was a gripe I had. I
- 37:57Speaker 5: felt like he's been so integral to so much of
- 38:01Speaker 5: the saga and the MCU up to this point.
- 38:03Speaker 1: And he.
- 38:05Speaker 5: Like I felt like his character was far more prominent
- 38:08Speaker 5: obviously in Falcon Winter Soldier and they kind of referenced
- 38:11Speaker 5: some of that and John coming from that as well.
- 38:14Speaker 5: And even though he gets some stellar Bucky gets stellar
- 38:17Speaker 5: moments and stellar lions, he felt more peripheral than I
- 38:21Speaker 5: expected him to be. I guess, again, not a huge issue,
- 38:25Speaker 5: just with something I didn't expect to be that way.
- 38:28Speaker 5: And I mean, that's like, that's all the gripes that
- 38:30Speaker 5: I really have.
- 38:31Speaker 1: It was it was stellar.
- 38:33Speaker 5: I was psyched. I left super excited and pleased. I mean,
- 38:37Speaker 5: Ken's texted me right after I got out of it,
- 38:40Speaker 5: and she goes, how is it? And I said, it
- 38:41Speaker 5: was effing awesome, you know, like I was just happy.
- 38:45Speaker 5: I felt happy leaving a Marvel movie again instead of
- 38:47Speaker 5: like wah wah like some of the other ones. And
- 38:50Speaker 5: so does it mean that we're just going to be
- 38:52Speaker 5: on a constant win ratio. Now, probably not, but.
- 38:55Speaker 1: I oh uff is.
- 38:58Speaker 5: Stuff's looking good on the horizon, you know what I mean.
- 39:00Speaker 5: Stuff looks fun on the horizon. So I'm I'm cautiously
- 39:03Speaker 5: optimistic again about the future of stuff and just had
- 39:07Speaker 5: a great time.
- 39:08Speaker 3: Nice hot takes, so hot, hot all around. Let's go
- 39:14Speaker 3: forward and talk about our favorite acting performance.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Let's name the the dude.
- 39:20Speaker 4: I'm the dude, so that's what you call me, you
- 39:22Speaker 4: know that, or his dudeness or duder or you know,
- 39:28Speaker 4: el dudreno if you're not into the whole brevity.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Thing, Riley, who who's your dude?
- 39:35Speaker 5: I mean, I talked a lot during my hot takes,
- 39:36Speaker 5: so I'll talk a lot less with this because it
- 39:38Speaker 5: was far and beyond Florence Pugh for me. She's obviously
- 39:42Speaker 5: like the prominent, like the lead of all of the
- 39:45Speaker 5: the ensemble cast. She's she's stellar, she's wonderful. Every every
- 39:53Speaker 5: iteration of Jolena we've seen so far, which I know
- 39:56Speaker 5: is that at the very least Black Widow and the
- 39:59Speaker 5: Hawkeye Show, and I think she showed up somewhere else briefly,
- 40:02Speaker 5: but I can't quite remember those two appearances. She's absolutely incredible.
- 40:07Speaker 5: She's such a wonderful character. She's so funny and sassy
- 40:13Speaker 5: and Florence Pugh obviously just a phenomenal actress. And she
- 40:17Speaker 5: just owns this part and this movie again exploring a
- 40:22Speaker 5: it's a sadder Yolena, it's it's a more troubled Yolena
- 40:25Speaker 5: than we've seen in the previous appearances. And it was
- 40:31Speaker 5: just fully, like fully believable. She just crushed it, and
- 40:38Speaker 5: I was, yeah, I was just very very pleased with her.
- 40:43Speaker 5: And obviously all the other roles as well, there's some
- 40:46Speaker 5: great supporting roles. Yeah, we'll get to in a second,
- 40:49Speaker 5: but for me, it would be hard to choose anybody
- 40:52Speaker 5: but her for that primary lead like Trophy award.
- 40:58Speaker 1: That's one hundred percent agree and that's why I picture
- 41:01Speaker 1: her as well. For all the reasons you said. The
- 41:04Speaker 1: only thing I will add is that her voice is perfect.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Like she's got this low yeah, yeah, she's got such
- 41:13Speaker 1: a low voice. But that Russian accent is so good.
- 41:17Speaker 5: It's phenomenal. I saw someone ripping on it, saw someone
- 41:20Speaker 5: like I can't stand the Russian accent. I'm like, it's perfect.
- 41:23Speaker 5: I mean I I don't know what you want. I'd
- 41:26Speaker 5: like to hear like a native Russian speaker like analyze
- 41:30Speaker 5: it and say, because you know our American perspective. But
- 41:33Speaker 5: but she's British, so first of all, she's not even
- 41:36Speaker 5: she's a like probably classically trained, and I feel like
- 41:39Speaker 5: classically trained BRIT's crush accents accents they do. She absolutely Yeah,
- 41:45Speaker 5: that like raspy alto voice is just it's like asmr
- 41:50Speaker 5: every line.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Yes, I love it so much. And yeah, she just
- 41:53Speaker 1: has so much range. She really is an incredible actress.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Agreed, Agreed, And if I picked Florence Pugh as well.
- 42:02Speaker 3: I feel like in some ways this is another like
- 42:06Speaker 3: this is another Black Widow movie that.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Like she really got her moment. I feel like the
- 42:13Speaker 1: you know, the.
- 42:15Speaker 3: The like sort of nods to Scargo are throughout this thing.
- 42:19Speaker 3: I mean, just like Scargo got her Halloway scene, Florence
- 42:22Speaker 3: Pugh gets hers. Here, Elena gets hers.
- 42:25Speaker 4: You know.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:27Speaker 3: I just not to mention like kind of having chemistry
- 42:31Speaker 3: with one of the most powerful characters in the movie, right,
- 42:34Speaker 3: like yeah, they I felt like they really had a
- 42:37Speaker 3: connection her in a wonderful way.
- 42:41Speaker 5: Yeah, platonic or romantic. It's still was very like, Yeah,
- 42:44Speaker 5: they had a deep connection, and that's like, that's a
- 42:46Speaker 5: good thing for to have in your back pocket. Is
- 42:48Speaker 5: absolutely is the Superman with telecons?
- 42:51Speaker 1: You know, yeah, absolutely, But yeah I picked her. I
- 42:53Speaker 1: just think she's wonderful. She is. Let's let's talk about
- 42:58Speaker 1: some of the other folks though. Let's go to the Tucci.
- 43:03Speaker 3: For this one.
- 43:05Speaker 5: I mean, this is your classic. I always say it
- 43:08Speaker 5: whenever you guys have me on for these where it's
- 43:10Speaker 5: more of an ensemble cast. Its gets really hard to
- 43:13Speaker 5: choose the top of everybody else when everybody else is
- 43:17Speaker 5: super stellar too, you know, So in lieu of like
- 43:23Speaker 5: mentioning everybody, I like, I'll wait to hear your guys' thoughts.
- 43:27Speaker 5: But my number one, my top two were definitely Lewis
- 43:34Speaker 5: Pullman and David Harbor. For me, my tops of this
- 43:38Speaker 5: Tucci section. I thought that and I didn't realize until
- 43:42Speaker 5: after the fact that Lewis Pullman is is Bill Pullman's son.
- 43:46Speaker 5: I didn't. I still have never seen topic on Maverick,
- 43:49Speaker 5: you know, it was not on hop on my list.
- 43:51Speaker 5: So he was new to me in this movie, and
- 43:54Speaker 5: I thought he was lovely. He was so innocent and
- 43:59Speaker 5: genuine good and then like as you see his this
- 44:03Speaker 5: development and then he gets trained, and then he realizes
- 44:07Speaker 5: how powerful he is and that he doesn't need to
- 44:08Speaker 5: listen to some you know, some human like you know,
- 44:13Speaker 5: beasy like Valentina controlling him and stuff. And his range
- 44:20Speaker 5: in this was was wonderful because he was so funny
- 44:22Speaker 5: and sweet and then so troubled and so it was
- 44:25Speaker 5: very just believable. You know, I feel like he sold it.
- 44:28Speaker 5: I really believed that he suffered from these really dark
- 44:33Speaker 5: this dark past and these dark problems, you know, like trauma.
- 44:37Speaker 5: He really read like this guy is trauma, has traumatized
- 44:40Speaker 5: and really dealing with bad stuff. Just great. And then
- 44:43Speaker 5: on the opposite end of the spectrum, David Harbor is
- 44:46Speaker 5: I love him and everything he does. Alexi is absolutely
- 44:49Speaker 5: hilarious in every single scene that he's in, every single
- 44:52Speaker 5: line that comes out of his mouth is amazing, and
- 44:54Speaker 5: David Harbor again fully embodies that, and it's just this
- 45:00Speaker 5: big Russian goofball and I love it.
- 45:02Speaker 1: He's such like a Golden Retriever character, Yes.
- 45:06Speaker 5: Full on, full on Golden Retriever energy every single moment
- 45:10Speaker 5: and despite his I'm sure dark past. He really is
- 45:13Speaker 5: just this like ray of sunshine, you know, and he
- 45:17Speaker 5: provides that for you Lena when she needs it most,
- 45:19Speaker 5: you know, as this as the father figure to her
- 45:21Speaker 5: that that he is. So so those are my top two,
- 45:23Speaker 5: and then you know, I'm sure we'll have some some
- 45:26Speaker 5: honorable mentions here as well.
- 45:27Speaker 1: For sure, I definitely picked David Harbor as well for
- 45:31Speaker 1: all the reasons you said, Oh yeah, I love that character,
- 45:34Speaker 1: and he's wonderful in it. Lovely. My number two, my
- 45:38Speaker 1: backup would have been Julia Luis Dreyfus is Valentina Allegra Dfontaine.
- 45:43Speaker 1: She's wonderful, so great in this.
- 45:45Speaker 5: Role too, so good, and we finally saw a lot
- 45:48Speaker 5: of her like she was just she was just the
- 45:51Speaker 5: like Nick Fury in the Shadows, you know, in her
- 45:54Speaker 5: other appearances. So this was this full that doors open
- 45:57Speaker 5: wide to see who she really is as a character.
- 45:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and yeah, we got to learn a lot
- 46:01Speaker 1: more about her. She's not great, great, No, she kind
- 46:04Speaker 1: of sucks. She kind of sucks, but at least she's funny. Well,
- 46:08Speaker 1: she's she's real funny. Say it is great, absolutely, So yeah,
- 46:12Speaker 1: I'm into her. Who do you have bikes.
- 46:14Speaker 3: Uh, I probably would have picked David Harbor too. Honestly,
- 46:19Speaker 3: we love Sebastian stan He's wonderful. I think we all
- 46:22Speaker 3: know that I liked Wyatt Russell. I know, Robi, you
- 46:25Speaker 3: weren't a big fan the character.
- 46:29Speaker 5: He was high on my list for two as well.
- 46:31Speaker 5: Like personally, I have.
- 46:33Speaker 3: A huge crush on Geraldine Viswanathan. I just love her
- 46:37Speaker 3: so much as mel Ye, she doesn't get to do
- 46:40Speaker 3: a ton in this movie.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Honestly, she was in it quite a bit for you know,
- 46:46Speaker 1: pretty far down.
- 46:46Speaker 5: That's she's a really peripheral character that had a lot
- 46:50Speaker 5: of big moments and what is she from? I have
- 46:52Speaker 5: never seen her before.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Drive Away Dolls.
- 46:58Speaker 3: More recently, he's been in quite a few things.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's really funny.
- 47:03Speaker 5: Like Lewis Pullman and they were. They were two fresh
- 47:06Speaker 5: faces for me on this one. So yeah, she was great.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Blockers is a good time if you're in for like
- 47:10Speaker 1: a raunchy comedy situation. Pretty fun.
- 47:16Speaker 3: And then also shout out to uh, I cannot know Peers. Yes, yes, yes,
- 47:24Speaker 3: I love Wendell Pears a lot.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Again, but the.
- 47:30Speaker 5: Congressman, congressman, sorry, right right, he's great he's great.
- 47:33Speaker 1: He's so good, He's good in everything that was my
- 47:36Speaker 1: That was another gripe is that I wish you would
- 47:38Speaker 1: have gotten more just because I love him.
- 47:40Speaker 3: Also, we had another Wire guy in there, right, because
- 47:44Speaker 3: wasn't the guy who was sort of leading the the
- 47:48Speaker 3: like fighting squad. Wasn't he in the dock season of
- 47:52Speaker 3: The Wire?
- 47:53Speaker 1: Oh? I should look up his name obviously. Oh it's
- 47:55Speaker 1: Chris Bauer. He's right below Wendow Peers. Chris me he
- 48:00Speaker 1: was working with Valentina. Oh yeah he was season You're
- 48:05Speaker 1: absolutely right.
- 48:06Speaker 3: Yeah, he was like ahead of it or something or whatever,
- 48:09Speaker 3: and really small role in this Yeah, very small, but
- 48:13Speaker 3: I recognized him. Although he uh, he had one of
- 48:16Speaker 3: the more interesting moments with Valentina because she beat the
- 48:19Speaker 3: crap out of him when he was going to fire
- 48:21Speaker 3: on Bob and it made us It made me at
- 48:24Speaker 3: least be like, oh, Valentina's got some game too, like
- 48:27Speaker 3: what's going on? Roguish, what's happening?
- 48:34Speaker 1: But yeah, I just I like that guy a lot.
- 48:37Speaker 1: I think he's a super interesting actor in general. What
- 48:41Speaker 1: other runners up did you guys have?
- 48:44Speaker 5: Like I said, I I am fascinated by John Walker's character.
- 48:48Speaker 5: You know, like, I think that he's got a big
- 48:50Speaker 5: chip on his shoulder because he wanted to be the
- 48:52Speaker 5: golden boy, kind of following in Steve's footsteps, and he
- 48:57Speaker 5: just had two Whereas Steve was was sunshine in you know,
- 49:03Speaker 5: in human form, given a serum and made better. John
- 49:06Speaker 5: had too many demons and so when he was amplified,
- 49:09Speaker 5: it made him worse. And it's a I think, a
- 49:12Speaker 5: cool sort of juxtaposition to that. And in this I
- 49:17Speaker 5: liked that we got to see a little more of
- 49:20Speaker 5: where he what he's gone through since you know, like
- 49:23Speaker 5: alienating his family by being a you know, a butthole.
- 49:27Speaker 5: And uh, I like, I really think that why I
- 49:31Speaker 5: played it well, I just thought he was a there's
- 49:34Speaker 5: all these different flavors on this team, right of like people,
- 49:37Speaker 5: and he was a unique like ingredient to the to
- 49:42Speaker 5: the team. And I thought he had some great lines,
- 49:45Speaker 5: some really funny moments, you know, and and truly just
- 49:47Speaker 5: an absolute ass. And I liked it.
- 49:50Speaker 1: I liked it.
- 49:50Speaker 5: He was almost irredeemable, which I think is everybody usually
- 49:54Speaker 5: gets redeemed right, and even he does to an extent,
- 49:56Speaker 5: but he's just kind of still.
- 50:00Speaker 1: You're not wrong you're just.
- 50:02Speaker 5: Yes, you're just a jerk, whereas like the other jerks
- 50:05Speaker 5: across the MCU tend to have their moments where you're like, Okay,
- 50:07Speaker 5: I kind of love you, you kind of don't love them,
- 50:09Speaker 5: and still at the end of it, but he's still
- 50:11Speaker 5: part of the family. Now everyone's got that cousin that
- 50:15Speaker 5: is just you know, a piece of so I love him.
- 50:19Speaker 5: Oh that's you.
- 50:20Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 50:23Speaker 5: I loved Valentina great. Like you said, I really enjoyed
- 50:26Speaker 5: Hannah John Cayman.
- 50:28Speaker 1: I was just gonna say, we got to mention her.
- 50:30Speaker 1: I feel like they just didn't. They just didn't develop
- 50:34Speaker 1: her character at all, Like the yeah, well developed more
- 50:39Speaker 1: in Man too.
- 50:43Speaker 5: They developed her character a bit, and then it just
- 50:46Speaker 5: was she's got a sick power and and she comes
- 50:50Speaker 5: in clutch from like a team strength standpoint, you know.
- 50:55Speaker 3: And then he and Lena together though, especially when they're
- 50:59Speaker 3: making fun of John a little.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Bit, like it was fun.
- 51:02Speaker 5: It was really good that that again, that dialogue that
- 51:06Speaker 5: can the community that they built as a team of
- 51:09Speaker 5: people that by all accounts shouldn't really get along and
- 51:12Speaker 5: didn't really get along at least for most of the movie.
- 51:15Speaker 1: But I thought she was good.
- 51:16Speaker 5: And then, like you said, Sebastian Stan loved the dude.
- 51:19Speaker 5: I felt like I wanted uh more more in this
- 51:24Speaker 5: uh but I get what his role was, you know,
- 51:28Speaker 5: And I hope that moving forward with this team, in
- 51:31Speaker 5: whatever capacity they do show up, that we see that
- 51:33Speaker 5: we see him featured, you know, prominently, because he's he's
- 51:37Speaker 5: got some seasoned history in the MCU as a as
- 51:41Speaker 5: a character. He's got a lot of weight to his name,
- 51:42Speaker 5: you know, so I want it to be like, have
- 51:46Speaker 5: that be recognized on the screen.
- 51:49Speaker 1: And poor Olga Curlinko.
- 51:52Speaker 5: Yeah, one line, one line and then just shot in
- 51:57Speaker 5: the face.
- 52:00Speaker 1: I think she was just a nightmare on I mean
- 52:03Speaker 1: she was. She was at all the red carpet stuff.
- 52:06Speaker 5: She just seemed like a nice person and that she
- 52:08Speaker 5: they just needed another body in that fight sequence. And
- 52:13Speaker 5: but then they were like, well, I guess we need
- 52:15Speaker 5: it to only be four people climbing up the elevator chefts,
- 52:17Speaker 5: so someone's got tied, you.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Know what I mean. It was just ad to show
- 52:21Speaker 1: that they were really they were going to kill each other.
- 52:24Speaker 1: They needed to show that they really, you know, that's
- 52:27Speaker 1: what they were there to do.
- 52:28Speaker 5: That if that was the goal that was effective for sure.
- 52:32Speaker 1: But yeah, she didn't get to do a lot. Well,
- 52:36Speaker 1: let's move on. Let's let's talk about some of our
- 52:39Speaker 1: favorite scenes. Let's choose the Dingus soda. Sodas is quite simple, really,
- 52:46Speaker 1: Dingus Dingus. I could talk about my Dingus all night long.
- 52:51Speaker 1: What do you have for this one?
- 52:54Speaker 5: This one was hard, like harder for me than other ones,
- 52:57Speaker 5: because the whole movie just kind of blends together, like
- 52:59Speaker 5: there's some stand out like some standout moments, and again
- 53:03Speaker 5: there's not that massive, ending climactic fight sequence so necessarily
- 53:10Speaker 5: in the same way as other movies. So this was
- 53:13Speaker 5: more like bullet points for me. I thought that at
- 53:15Speaker 5: first Vault fight was really fun because we sort of
- 53:18Speaker 5: see each of them, even task Master, up to a
- 53:21Speaker 5: certain extent, like really flex their abilities. We see how
- 53:26Speaker 5: fricking strong John was, Like I forgot how he's just
- 53:29Speaker 5: absolutely launching people across the room and he's pretty like
- 53:33Speaker 5: skilled with the shield.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Even Yolena was like, what is happening?
- 53:37Speaker 5: Yeah, excuse me, he's been practicing off screen. She is
- 53:42Speaker 5: obviously very Natasha coded like Yolena, she's very very skilled fighter. Yeah,
- 53:49Speaker 5: and we see Ghost really has honed in her abilities
- 53:52Speaker 5: and can use it super effectively.
- 53:55Speaker 1: That was really it was a.
- 53:56Speaker 5: Great scene and a lot of comedy, a lot of
- 53:58Speaker 5: like initial spark to this team. And then subsequently the
- 54:02Speaker 5: elevator climb was hilarious, but their little feet just barely
- 54:10Speaker 5: creeping up as they go. It was so like they
- 54:13Speaker 5: spend fifteen minutes showing how crazy, strong and skilled they
- 54:16Speaker 5: all are. And then this very like three stooges like
- 54:20Speaker 5: climbing up an elevator shaft like rivers and just bickering
- 54:24Speaker 5: the whole time. The limo chase, great scene, like super
- 54:29Speaker 5: fun scene, but Bucky coming in and showing him whose boss,
- 54:32Speaker 5: and it really shows how much respect Bucky like commands
- 54:37Speaker 5: as a character that he he contained all four of
- 54:42Speaker 5: them or whatever, you know, like easily. Apparently they all
- 54:45Speaker 5: are tied up by the end of it. And then
- 54:48Speaker 5: the first the sentry fight was like that, like that
- 54:51Speaker 5: was like eyes wide open, jaw again. Damn, this dude strong.
- 54:57Speaker 1: You know.
- 54:58Speaker 5: The the Trauma Palace may of terrifying rooms. That was great,
- 55:03Speaker 5: And yeah, I think maybe Alexi's speech to Helena also
- 55:06Speaker 5: a really powerful moment of like the sentiment, like the
- 55:10Speaker 5: heartfelt nature of it you know, where it slows down,
- 55:13Speaker 5: it's just the two of them sort of father daughter moment.
- 55:16Speaker 5: I was really sort of is what it's like the
- 55:18Speaker 5: turning point, I feel like and in that at that
- 55:21Speaker 5: point in the movie. So yeah, it's a lot of
- 55:23Speaker 5: like little, little great moments and I'm not quite sure
- 55:26Speaker 5: what I would put it the highest. I'm curious about
- 55:28Speaker 5: you guys think, and then I think.
- 55:31Speaker 1: I think my number one was when Red Guardian shows
- 55:35Speaker 1: up in the limo and rescues them. Yeah.
- 55:45Speaker 3: Also, her face was so great, like when she's just like.
- 55:49Speaker 5: Oh no, him perfectly captures the embarrassed dadder vibe, like
- 55:57Speaker 5: and just so embarrassed her dad can't just cringing so hard.
- 56:02Speaker 1: I don't know him. I don't know, I don't know him. No,
- 56:05Speaker 1: it's steady. But he had so many good lines throughout that.
- 56:09Speaker 1: And while they're in the car or in the limo,
- 56:12Speaker 1: that's where they kind of you know, they're the thunderbolts.
- 56:16Speaker 1: That's where they figure that out. And I thought it
- 56:19Speaker 1: was oh and dude, when he hits that button in
- 56:21Speaker 1: genuine pony starts, so it's like are you driving that?
- 56:30Speaker 1: That was for sure my number one part of the
- 56:33Speaker 1: movie for sure, that's what I would pick.
- 56:37Speaker 3: Well, maybe we maybe that's the one, because that I
- 56:39Speaker 3: had that written down as well.
- 56:41Speaker 1: It sounds like we all did.
- 56:42Speaker 5: It's high up on that list of what I wrote down.
- 56:45Speaker 3: So to add to it, when Bucky like shoots the
- 56:49Speaker 3: the like cable down off the Humby and then goes
- 56:53Speaker 3: back grabs it, drives it into the ground with his arm, like,
- 56:57Speaker 3: that is sick.
- 56:59Speaker 5: Remember seeing that cool heavily featured like in the marketing,
- 57:02Speaker 5: and I kind of missed what he did to cause
- 57:06Speaker 5: And I was like, he's so wrong.
- 57:07Speaker 1: I think they just showed it flipping I necessarily like
- 57:10Speaker 1: you did it.
- 57:11Speaker 5: Maybe Bucky's hella strong, but he's also just a dude,
- 57:14Speaker 5: like and how does he stop a Humby? And I'm like, oh,
- 57:17Speaker 5: that was really really well done. The Wakandan arm shoved
- 57:23Speaker 5: into the concrete, it was sick.
- 57:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I loved that so much. But You're right, Rob,
- 57:28Speaker 3: the everything that happened in there too, like you both said,
- 57:31Speaker 3: is really funny too, because there's like silly moments the
- 57:34Speaker 3: thunderbolts thing.
- 57:35Speaker 5: Him flooring it and it only goes up to fifty
- 57:37Speaker 5: three miles an hour.
- 57:39Speaker 1: I'm going just give it a second, you know, like
- 57:41Speaker 1: so it's just great.
- 57:42Speaker 5: I love it, and he has his first sort of
- 57:44Speaker 5: like pep talk that's less effective, and then it sort
- 57:47Speaker 5: of mirrors later on when she's like, Okay, that one
- 57:50Speaker 5: was really good, like that was a great like to
- 57:52Speaker 5: him when he like crushes the sentiment later.
- 57:54Speaker 3: So Elena like goes out the side of the car
- 57:57Speaker 3: to shoot at the humpies and the run explode and
- 58:00Speaker 3: she's like, well yeah, and then we see it's Bucky.
- 58:05Speaker 5: That was just so fun. Then yeah, he get that's
- 58:08Speaker 5: was like full. I was like, oh, I got the
- 58:10Speaker 5: Winter Soldier like Tingles right, Like how how he was
- 58:14Speaker 5: effective in cap two with that same sort of intensity
- 58:17Speaker 5: on the motorcycle, good stuffed the happy.
- 58:20Speaker 1: Runner out there.
- 58:22Speaker 3: I love the the sentry fight is great. But I
- 58:25Speaker 3: love when we get Void and he's just like you know,
- 58:29Speaker 3: this specter of a character above and when he and
- 58:33Speaker 3: apparently it's called voiding people, which I don't love because
- 58:36Speaker 3: of the bowel connotation, but when he when he gets
- 58:41Speaker 3: rid of.
- 58:41Speaker 1: The little girl avoiding.
- 58:43Speaker 5: I was no, I literally there was. I went and
- 58:46Speaker 5: saw Matinee. So there was six of us in the theater,
- 58:49Speaker 5: you know, it's like very intimate and intimate showing of this,
- 58:53Speaker 5: and I think audibly gasped. I was the only one
- 58:55Speaker 5: like making noise, Like I laughed a couple of times
- 58:57Speaker 5: out loud, and I just owned it. But I gasped
- 59:00Speaker 5: when she when he shadowed her away literally was shocking.
- 59:05Speaker 5: And really you don't when you don't know yet that
- 59:09Speaker 5: people that they're still alive, they're just somewhere else. I
- 59:13Speaker 5: was like, this m effort just killed the child.
- 59:18Speaker 1: Getting dark, and like.
- 59:21Speaker 5: I said before, I cannot reiterate enough how from a
- 59:24Speaker 5: visual effects perspective and my like geekiness about that, the
- 59:31Speaker 5: de set and not even desaturation, just as you see
- 59:34Speaker 5: as she she like kill switches him and then you
- 59:36Speaker 5: see his lifeless body just get consumed by shadow. And
- 59:41Speaker 5: then when he's out there and it's like it's I
- 59:44Speaker 5: want to know how they did it? Because did they
- 59:46Speaker 5: rotoscope him? And then like what did they do? Because
- 59:48Speaker 5: he is truly like there's no light other than just
- 59:54Speaker 5: the sparkle in his eyes, and it's so effective and
- 59:58Speaker 5: so scary because even when he like you don't see
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: his mouth move, you don't see anything, but he will.
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: You can see his teeth at one point when he
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: sort of smiles when really I noticed, but I was
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: just like, oh.
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: That's because even like when he reaches his hand out,
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: it all blends together. You just are getting this literal
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: silhouette cut out of this terrifying character.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: So well done. Yeah, yeah, I love that. Uh. And
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: then I love the scene where they all just start
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: like saving people on the street. That's sort of like
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: it was sort of.
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: Right, yeah, yeah, and you see like they utilize their
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: abilities and their power and like again John holy Ship
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: stops a whole slab of concrete by himself like that,
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: and then they all come together to do it guardian,
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: you know, blocking the falling debris, and it's very well.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: I hope no one's on the other side of that thing,
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: but I look, I.
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: Almost thought that something like a slapstick moment like that
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: was going to happen, where like.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Where's the dog sees No. Another one that we didn't
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: talk about but that I had as a runner up
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: was just the beginning opening where Florence Peugh actually jumps
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: off the building that we all have seen that she
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: really did that. But I loved the narrating this monologue
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: that she's doing, talking about how there's something wrong with her,
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: and then the parachute opens up and she's like, or
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: maybe I'm just bored. It was just like, really it
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: was well timed.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: Such perfect like depression slash apathy in that moment of
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: just like or maybe none of this even matters, even
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: that I am sad and hate everything.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: And she's talking about how she's like clocking in and
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: out of work, but it's her just taking out a
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: group of yea kill it.
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: No, she really she shows that the light and the dark,
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: but less dramatic than we see with Bob, and he
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: then sort of is this amplification of what she's experiencing.
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: And she realizes, I mean, Alexi says it a couple
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: of times, how he sees the light, it's brighter, you know,
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: her light is brighter. Once she has these people in
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: her life, and when she realizes that and can kind
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: of see how they help Bob conquer it, it's really, yeah,
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: super super effective to have her start that way. And
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: it's so like you said, so funny. She's so funny
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: even with her own self.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: It's great.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: But yeah, I feel like I feel like we picked
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: the limo.
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: I'm happy with choosing that. Yeah, it embodies the whole
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: spirit of the movie.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Yeah, boom, it's been chosen. Well, let's uh, let's pick
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: some of these quotes. Let's show me the money, show
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: me the money, show a few quotes on this one.
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: I was it's a highly quotable movie's direction. Say a
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: couple Riley, Bob, Initially you were Captain America. Yeah, why,
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: oh you're an asshole? Yeah giggles and he and like, okay,
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: I'm like this dude also smashed a dude's face in
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: with his shield. So let's pump the brakes here before
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: we know that you're immortal. I loved and then similarly, really,
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: I like that John was the butt of many jokes.
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: He was, and Valentina's was even more saucy. I don't
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: think so Junior Varsity Captain America that that got an
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: audible chuckle from me.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: That was great, totally. I loved, Bob.
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: Have you hit me with that sign one more time.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: I was on meth Funny, like.
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: Myth in a Marvel movie. I'm like, oh, I'm here
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: for it, dude, sign me up. Less of a quote
- 1:03:40Speaker 5: and more of just like words on the screen. But
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: the taxi tagline, yes, protecting you from boarding every evening,
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: just like yes, I love.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: The broken English so wonderful.
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: You can just read it in his voice and the
- 1:03:54Speaker 5: way she says it and just rolls her eyes because
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: she just knows. I like Bucky's funny line in the
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: in the box the trauma boxes, where she's like, are
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: you all right? And yeah, I had a great past,
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: I'm fine. Nothing can imagine which which horrible like traumatizing
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: event would be his main trauma box, right, Like that'd
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: be so fun to be fun to see which one
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: he had to relive over and over and then the
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: like the heartfelt line of hers Alexi's whole speech is great.
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: I'm not going to specifically, but he really he does
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: such a perfect job of being dad in the moment
- 1:04:37Speaker 5: that he needs to be. But when she says, at
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: what point in that secret she says, at some point
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: in like the void area, that we can't stop him alone,
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: no one can, but we can together. I mean, that's
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: just perfect. It's the whole point of the movie. It's all.
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: That's where it wraps up and the tides turn in
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: their favor and they figure out what to do. So yeah,
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: tons of tons of quotable moments in this movie.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, had some Alexi ones. That's what I talk about.
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: Good David Harbor just had to have had the time
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: of his life. Absolutely, he always seems like he seems
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: like a guy who genuinely loves acting, and he's always
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: he always crushes it. I mean, even like as hell Boy,
- 1:05:21Speaker 5: which I don't think was a great movie. He was
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: has fun with everything he does and you can see
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: it just oozes from him. That's I feel like.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Anytime you want to do any of these. Absolutely. I
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: did see him in that Silent Night movie, the so
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: that made the who's this old Santa Lion?
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: I really like that connect that that's hilarious.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: When he says, don't drink from the big gulp in
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: back and you just see those full book. Yeah, it
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: was a long trip. He says, the light inside you
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: was so dim even by Eastern European standards. I love
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: that line so much. That was good.
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: Line too that I meant to write down in the
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: moment because it was really blinking. You miss it and
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: I can't remember it now because I was too like
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: just ingrained in the moment, but it was almost like
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: under his breath you know, And I'm really sad that
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: I didn't write it down because there was a couple
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: of those where he's just like, it's like an afterthought
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: statement that just is a hilarious another just hilarious thing.
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: Everything he said. I wish I wrote it down. I
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: can't think of it now.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and Valentina had one. It's not super funny, but
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: I liked that she said, we're brought up with this
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: belief that there are good guys and there are bad guys,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: but eventually you come to realize that there are bad
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: guys and there are worse guys. Yeah. Yeah, which that's
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: what Dylan's.
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: She had that she had. The righteousness is just.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: What was it about?
- 1:07:00Speaker 5: It's not it's just an opinion of righteous without power
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: is just an opinion or something like that says it
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: in the like in the Senate hearing, I think, and
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: I was like, that's a hot take right there.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: It's clearly just her trauma coming back right.
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: Exactly she's got which we see, we never mentioned that before.
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: We see her sort of we see her and that
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: was really interesting. Yeah, fleshed her out a little bit,
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: which I liked a lot.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: You got some bukes yeah, I have quite a few,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: so we said this one already. But you Len, that's
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: your dad. Don't go in the fault. Valentine is going
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: to burn you a lot.
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: I just love that screaming it yeah from across the desert.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I love Valentina.
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: When so we have Wendell Pierce ass so you don't
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: mind if this committee continues its investigation, and Valentine's like, oh,
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: of course not immediate scene shipped and she's just like.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: It. But it's really it's something straight from v That's
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: exactly what I thought too.
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: Yeah, he's such good humor and such like a she
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: seems like such a like a a hard ass who's
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: like shell is impenetrable. And then you immediately see, oh
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: she's she is a little stressed, like yeah, so good sweating.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: Elena when it's when Bob and John are like kind
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: of coming to blows in the vault, and she's just
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: like whoa, okay, okay, well whoa whoa.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: We swung our tiny dicks.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: It was a lot of fun. Yeah, just move like
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: it's pretty great.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: I love that.
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: She's like she's like Natasha but like raunchy, you know what.
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: I mean, she's got the same attitude, but she's the
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: the raunchy dials turned up on her.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: I like it.
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, when they're climbing up the when they're doing
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: butt to butt and they're I think it's John Walker
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: when he's.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Like, oh, someone's got a got a weird hard.
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: Butt, and then she's like, it's my suit.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it's my Sorry, it's.
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: Keeping me or whatever she says. Uh, cucumbers is pretty
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: hilarious when he's trying to cucumber covers of those great
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: I guess safer also Yolena, And this comes up a
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: couple of times, but it really made me happy when.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: She's like, oh wow, oh wow.
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: Well, when I was five, I was on a pewee
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: soccer team called the West Chesapeake Valley Thunderbolt, sponsored by
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: Shane's Tire Shop. We won zero games, and this one time,
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: a girl named Mindy she did a poo at middlefield.
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: Anyone else have any pointless stories to tell?
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: And then later later her dad is like, oh, she
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: was on that team. This girl did a pool on middlefield.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: It was so so good.
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: Yeah, his humorous, lighthearted perspective of the same thing.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so so good. But she did a poo
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: at midfield what leads to that? I don't know. That's
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: so funny to me.
- 1:09:49Speaker 5: I love that's so good. I like his as part
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: of his like goofy taxi, his goofy taxi pep talk.
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: This has makings of tam that can raise to glory,
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: bring light from darkness. This team can be the heroes
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: on the Wheaties box with little Kiddy Toy like he
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: just he so badly wants and we see it in
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: the funny little mid credits scene. He just wants to
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: be the hero. He wants to be recognized for this. Yeah,
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: who's his like new mustache that he's got to that
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: goofy stash and the beers all trimmed.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: So funny. Oh yeah, really really good. I also liked
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: the well we said that, Okay, that was really good.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: I really liked that lie.
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: She's all choked up and she just can't believe that
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: he actually he pulled off a good speech.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: Also, we kind of didn't mention the scene, but when
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: they all come together within the void, that's a beautiful
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: scene in general, and then they kind of fight their
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: way out, you know. But the first time they all
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: show up when like the room, all the things are
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: kind of attacking them, David Harber grabs a pillow and
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: rips it in half, and he just goes, ah, evil.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Pillow, And yeah, I don't even remember that. I think
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: would miss right.
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: But that's what I was saying. He had so many
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: lines that some of them just kind of go. You
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: just miss him because you're looking in the wrong spot,
- 1:11:13Speaker 5: you know what I mean. And that that room sequence,
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: that first room, it was giving me very like womping
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: Willow Harry Potter room vibes, you know, like just inadimate
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: objects trying to kill all these people.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: But yeah, he just tears the pillow apart. You see
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: all the feathers flying, evil pillow.
- 1:11:31Speaker 5: Yeah, it's that makes me think I feel like they
- 1:11:34Speaker 5: could have gone If I may just interject, this is
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: a kind of a tangent. I feel like they could
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: have gone darker with that, like they went. They went
- 1:11:42Speaker 5: funny with the room, and then they kind of continue
- 1:11:44Speaker 5: to go humorous, like I guess.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: I guess.
- 1:11:46Speaker 5: When Elene is making her way to that room, it's
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: pretty dark in the other space, like her fighting herself,
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: reliving the moment where she has that girl killed and stuff,
- 1:11:56Speaker 5: but like when she first is trying to help Bob
- 1:11:59Speaker 5: and like she against the like angled ceiling and it
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: like grabs.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: Her for a second.
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: That if they utilized that more, and like because the
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: because void as a concept as a character, it's so terrifying, right,
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: And I feel like if the room from a more
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: almost like horror vibes for a second was trying to
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: like consume them, I feel like that would have been
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: really cool to see. I'm not complaining that it was
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: more of a funny sequence, but that moment, like I
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: was like because it kind of it gives that like
- 1:12:26Speaker 5: hands coming out of the wall, yeah or something.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but I have just two more, uh, Elena at
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: the very beginnings, like.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: So you feel fulfilled, and Alexi just goes, oh yeah,
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: oh yeah, so.
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: Full, so filled, so full, so filled filled.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: That and then John Walker he turned my shield into
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: a taco made me laugh, and then.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: It's just still that way he is it as a taco.
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: I'm like, did he figure out how to how to
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: like how to use it to his advantage eventually and
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: just left it that way?
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: And it's clearly not a vibranium, I guess.
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: Or centuries just that it doesn't matter.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: He's that powerful. That was all the ones I had, though, Yeah. Nice, Yeah,
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: there's probably more.
- 1:13:19Speaker 5: I'm sure there's for sure.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: There's a lot of funny ones. Yeah, well let's move on,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: let's do bukes boohoo moments the crying game. I picked two.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: I think there are probably more than that interesting, but
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: those are the two that I found on I've only
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: seen it once. Yeah, that makes I get it, it does. Yeah.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: So the first one, it's when Alexi and Yolena are talking.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: He says, you know why you wanted to be the
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: goalie you said, I want to be the one everyone
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: can rely on if they make a mistake. I love that. Yeah, absolutely,
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: that made me cry for sure. That's a great one too.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: And then when Yolena is talking to Bob and the Void,
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: he's like, you can't stuff it down, you can't hold
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: it in, you have to let it out. Will you
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: try and leave here with me? Yeah? Really, really great?
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: And I feel like a lot of that void stuff
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: could have.
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: There's a lot of flowing moments that connect up that
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: could all be their own one.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: Yeah, so I was kind of putting all those just
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: in that one. Sure, but those were the two that
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: I thought of, Riley, do you have some otherwise? I
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: can listed?
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: I felt like there were more. Again, I was not
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: paying attention. I figured, I'm gonna let me. I'm gonna
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: take a guest. Let's say, there's are there six more
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: more than six more? I'm just shot in the dark.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: There there's seven more. There's nine?
- 1:14:53Speaker 5: Damn okay alone. When she first Bob in his you're right,
- 1:15:02Speaker 5: it's sick.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: Sorry, you're right.
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: I'll take I'll take points just for just forgetting that number?
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: Got it?
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: What about in when she finally gets to Bob's trauma room,
- 1:15:13Speaker 5: which sounds like like a business Bob's trauma room's trauma room,
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: and he's like you see that the floorboards like the
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: trauma that he faced, and like he's such it's such
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: an innocent little moment. He's like playing with his childhood toys.
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: And then you beneath him, is this like abuse happening?
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: And you hear his mom say like you always make
- 1:15:34Speaker 5: everything worse.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: I'm just like, what's the hardest that scene is? It
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: wasn't just the dad, it was also the mom.
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: Always comes to the to the kids support and you're like, well, no,
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: you're a drug addict who ran away from Besia. Like so,
- 1:15:47Speaker 5: I don't know if that was cry inducing, but it
- 1:15:49Speaker 5: was really sad.
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: I kind of just counted that as a cry from
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: the previous parts. Well again, it was kind of hard
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: to once you were in there.
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: There was another one earlier on Man, you know, I
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: just list him. I could scratch my head as I'm
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: doing for a long time.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: When Bucky shows up, a little hype to your action
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: because I love Bucky, So yeah, wow, it's great, it's great.
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: Uh he was looking good in this that it was
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: like the Winter Soldier hair but with the stubble.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I was He's handsome. He's handsome.
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: When they have when Bucky is like he kind of
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: lets the cat on the bag that Walker's family has
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: left him, and not so much that because I feel
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: like we all kind of knew that. But the look
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: between Yolena.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: And John there was really great because it wasn't like
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: you lied to us.
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: It was just kind of like, yeah, I get it.
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: I probably want to say the truth either you know.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: Or whatever, like it would be hard to say understanding,
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: which I liked. I thought was very nice, But it
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: was just because he was being a douche does.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: But also he was you know, I don't know, he
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: was let down a little bit by he's weird. Yeah
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: you're duh.
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: When and she is like, daddy, I'm so alone.
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: Like when she has her final like breakdown moment, I
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: just thought that was so so great because she talks.
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: About I lost my sister. I guess that's kind of
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: the one you said, that's the same the same scene. Yeah,
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: you're right, so yeah.
- 1:17:14Speaker 5: Yes, so I know Alexi's whole speech was really it
- 1:17:18Speaker 5: was a it was a yes flexing the tear ducks
- 1:17:21Speaker 5: up in the theater for sure.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: I also feel like we kind of said this one,
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: but specifically Alexi screaming when Yolena steps into the void,
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: I thought it.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: Was like really heartbreaking.
- 1:17:34Speaker 5: I don't think we mentioned I don't think we mentioned
- 1:17:36Speaker 5: that got me.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: I liked it a lot, And it's kind of the
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: same thing as the first scene, right she puts her
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: foot over the edge and dives in to the void
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: like a little bit. And then the last one is
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: just straight nerd stuff, but the Avengers theme. I just
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: loved hearing it. I was just like, hell, yeah, let's
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: go I remember this. Yeah, I loved it.
- 1:17:56Speaker 5: I remember how this feels.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: Now, that's fun. So yeah, it was.
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: It was less than I said, I guess because they're right.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: They were all like parts of scenes.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: Let's just say that a handful. I think.
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: I think it more than stretch moments apart a little
- 1:18:09Speaker 5: bit if they're you know, separated by a few minutes
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: of extra dialogue.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: All right, well, let's go on and talk about some movie.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: Terrivia here do it.
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: As previously said, apparently Florence Pugh loves heights, and she
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: begged to be able to for real jump off the Merdeka.
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: Eighteen building in Kuala Lumpur, and apparently it is.
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: Twenty two hundred feet tall. So there's no cgi, there's
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: no stunt double.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: She just did it.
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: There's no way in hell I'm ever doing that. But
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: she talked them into it by kind of just being like, listen,
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: this is going to be great for the press tour
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: because I'll get to talk.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: About it all the time. But I can't.
- 1:18:55Speaker 5: You're not wrong how.
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: Much work had to go into her being able to
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: do that, just from like a let's get the insurance worked.
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: Out, you know, and all that. It's got to be
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: a lot, right, like gotta be the same people the time.
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: The standard of of doing your own damn scary ass stunts.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but the only thing I've done about is that
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: it's like it's only used. It's just such a small part.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: It's the very so that it's done. It's just gone. Yeah,
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: that would need to be like the climax of the movie,
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:19:30Speaker 5: Yeah, but the first scene last, just in case, just crazy.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Crazy let's see. According to director Jake, is it shriers
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: that you said earlier? I assumed something like that.
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: Anyway, he used the blast shadows and specifically made them
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: look like the apparently it's an urban myth. I hadn't
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: heard that, but to look like the new blast they
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: would say, like it eradicated people if they were in
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: inside a nuclear.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: Blast so much.
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: Yeah, that you would just see the outline of their
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: you know, silhouette on walls and stuff. So he specifically
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: used that because it was really simple and he liked
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: the like horror.
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: Effect in it. It was. It was great.
- 1:20:19Speaker 5: It was so mixed with the sound design of just
- 1:20:22Speaker 5: that like like really cool, like just like from deep
- 1:20:26Speaker 5: within just this low like yeah, gone and like more
- 1:20:31Speaker 5: effective than even I say this lightly because it's amazing,
- 1:20:34Speaker 5: but like the dusting of like the snap, you know,
- 1:20:37Speaker 5: was this drawn out like wispiness, you know, and this
- 1:20:41Speaker 5: was an instantaneous just like you don't exist anymore? Where'd
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: you go?
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:20:46Speaker 5: And and just this little reach out.
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: It was yeah, really good. I like that. Apparently.
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: Also early in the movie, the scene where Elena blew
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: up the like the floor of the building that was
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: not CG either.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: Actually, for some reason, I love it, man.
- 1:21:05Speaker 5: I love going back to practical roots because you got
- 1:21:07Speaker 5: you gotta rely on CG for so much these days. Sure,
- 1:21:11Speaker 5: when these superhero movies, especially because there's like directors like
- 1:21:16Speaker 5: like Chris Nolan who like they are their whole thing
- 1:21:19Speaker 5: is they try to do everything practical right, but you
- 1:21:21Speaker 5: come to expect these days to like that VFX are
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: easier and safer than than practical stuff. And then you
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: have Florence Peude literally jumping off a building and actual
- 1:21:33Speaker 5: real floors exploding. I'm like, yes, I love it getting
- 1:21:37Speaker 5: back to some real, raw, like genuine stuff.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: I just don't understand how they did it because it
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: was like, you know, the third story and like a
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: big building.
- 1:21:48Speaker 5: I wonder, I wonder if you get rid of all
- 1:21:50Speaker 5: the windows and you and you you blow a bunch
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: of of like accelerant, you know, and like stuff, and
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: then you cg in like the glass and particulate because
- 1:22:01Speaker 5: they're like.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: A bunch of like the stuff going out.
- 1:22:05Speaker 5: But then yeah, yeah, right, yeah, So that way you're
- 1:22:08Speaker 5: not hurting anybody, but you just have a bunch of
- 1:22:09Speaker 5: fire blown out the sides of the building and then
- 1:22:12Speaker 5: you put like glass and metal and stuff on the
- 1:22:15Speaker 5: outskirts of it. From a VFX standpoint, still feels so
- 1:22:18Speaker 5: much more raw and real. And one thing that I
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: love is you can tell real explosions because when you
- 1:22:26Speaker 5: get that fire, it's so bright. And so when you
- 1:22:29Speaker 5: from a camera perspective, when when the scene is exposed properly,
- 1:22:35Speaker 5: fire will all real fire will always be blown out
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: like it'll be at its brightest point. So when you
- 1:22:42Speaker 5: watch movies that rely on fae on seat on, like
- 1:22:45Speaker 5: VFX fire, it'll be like the same exposure as everything else.
- 1:22:51Speaker 5: And you can see it. In Oppenheimer, they do it
- 1:22:53Speaker 5: where everything's so dark and then the fire looks like fire,
- 1:22:56Speaker 5: but everything else is so dark. So if a scene
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: is exposed properly and your fire doesn't look like it's
- 1:23:01Speaker 5: blowing out the like the light spectrum, so you can
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: see that in real explosions, interesting, like in the Big
- 1:23:08Speaker 5: Dune explosion and stuff that was real as well. Like
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: it just it peaks out those levels. From a coloring standpoint,
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: it's cool to look at in the future.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: That's fun.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: Apparently the old Soviet parade that Alexi is watching is
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: actually from a TV or a televised parade within Russia
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: from May first, nineteen eighty one. It was the Labor
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: Day parade in Moscow Square, which I thought that was interesting.
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: This is the final film of Phase five in the MCU.
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: It felt like jumping point.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: Yeah. I didn't know that either until I read this,
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: so that was interesting.
- 1:23:46Speaker 5: That makes the whole like New Avengers, drop of the
- 1:23:50Speaker 5: name change and like the team building make feel more conclusive.
- 1:23:54Speaker 5: It kind of makes it make sense.
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: James Gunn was interested in directing a movie face based
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: on this team, and Fikey claimed that it was a
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: possibility should Guardians of the Galaxy do well enough at
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: the box office. But apparently Guardians did too well and
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: so they had to move to making sequels after that,
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: and of course James Gunn is now has now left
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: to go do the DC stuff, so he didn't give
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: a chance to do it. But it does feel kind
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: of guardian Z points.
- 1:24:26Speaker 5: For they took notes on how to put a hodgepodge
- 1:24:29Speaker 5: character a group of like anti characters together.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: Yeah, totally. Let's see.
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: The choice to use famously overpowered Century was against the
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: Thunderbolts was a deliberate one by the filmmakers. When you
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: have Century and the Void and people you know have
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: said it online like, how are they ever supposed to
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: beat that guy? We knew it was going to have
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: to be a more internal battle, and how do we
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: tie the arcs of other characters so that they would
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: fit with this antagonist And in the world there's a
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: lot of trauma to be mine.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: So they just went with that and used that as
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: a way.
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: To show that inner strife. And apparently it was always
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: meant to be a parable for mental health, so they
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: went into it knowing that was the idea, which is cool, super.
- 1:25:15Speaker 5: Super effective, Yeah, and he was just they really didn't.
- 1:25:18Speaker 5: They were like, we're going to show how wildly yeah,
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: out of their league they are with it, because like, again,
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: he's very Superman coded, but he also can move s
- 1:25:30Speaker 5: up with his mind and stop bullets in mid air.
- 1:25:33Speaker 5: And like in the comics, I've been sort of reading
- 1:25:37Speaker 5: like power tier lyrics of stuff to kind of see
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: I like to look at the source material a bit
- 1:25:42Speaker 5: before seeing these movies, like who is Century in the comics,
- 1:25:45Speaker 5: and and he's crazy high up on the power level.
- 1:25:50Speaker 5: I mean, he literally is essentially Superman, and like Thor
- 1:25:54Speaker 5: can only stand up to him when it's like Thor
- 1:25:57Speaker 5: with the odin Forest power. Yeah, and Hulk can only
- 1:26:00Speaker 5: stand up to him when Hulk's got an extra juice,
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: you know, extra juice. So like the MCU Avengers wouldn't
- 1:26:07Speaker 5: stand a chance against him, you know what I mean,
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: crazy truly unless it was unless Thor was channeling something extra,
- 1:26:14Speaker 5: you know what I mean, Like Phase one Avengers from
- 1:26:18Speaker 5: like Avengers one would get just absolutely walked all over
- 1:26:21Speaker 5: by this guy. And so, like you said, it's you
- 1:26:24Speaker 5: see that and you're like, well screwed. How are they
- 1:26:26Speaker 5: going to come out of this? And it being an
- 1:26:28Speaker 5: emotional internal battle, is was very satisfying to see that play.
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: Out that way. Agreed, and the Thunderbolts.
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: Team, I was reading from a compic standpoint, is such.
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: There are so many iterations of the Thunderbolts. Oh, really interesting,
- 1:26:46Speaker 5: so many the Wikipedia when you like expand the little toggle.
- 1:26:50Speaker 5: I was scrolling and I'm like, holy, this does not end.
- 1:26:54Speaker 5: It's like there are legitimately thirty different like iterations of
- 1:26:58Speaker 5: this group put together by different sort of Valentina esque characters,
- 1:27:04Speaker 5: like who who build it up? And some of them
- 1:27:06Speaker 5: are like worse, like worse anti heroes, and some are
- 1:27:09Speaker 5: like are better, you know, like not as dark and
- 1:27:12Speaker 5: evil or whatever. And and then the fact that I
- 1:27:18Speaker 5: was expecting it. I didn't think we'd see Harrison Ford
- 1:27:20Speaker 5: in this, but I thought we would hear about Thunderbolt
- 1:27:22Speaker 5: Ross and that that was I think one of them
- 1:27:26Speaker 5: original iterations was had to do with Thunderbolt Ross putting
- 1:27:29Speaker 5: together a team of anti heroes as his own thing.
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: That was more Valentina's thing in this, So then it
- 1:27:33Speaker 5: being a different a different reason that they were called
- 1:27:36Speaker 5: the Thunderbolts with the little asterisk asterisk was it was
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: funny to me because and it wasn't needed, like Thunderbolt
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: Ross wasn't needed in it. But but I was expecting it,
- 1:27:47Speaker 5: and then it didn't happen.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: That's a good call.
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: I didn't even from the get go when they announced this,
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: I was like, well, obviously, obviously Red Hulk is going
- 1:27:56Speaker 5: to be.
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: Or whatever.
- 1:28:00Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, Yeah, and they didn't go that way, which
- 1:28:03Speaker 5: I actually think was better off for the story.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: I agree.
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: I do think it's funny kind of speaking off the
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: They got it from the you know, the soccer team.
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: Apparently the director originally wanted the jokey post credit scene
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: to be a handheld video that Alexi was shooting from
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: the bleachers during the game when the girl pooped in
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: the middle of the field. But yeah, they decided not
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: to do it because Alexi would have been in Ohio
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: at that point, and like undercover, he would have just
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: been using his regular voice, so it would have just
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: sounded like David Harbor. And they were like, that's not
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: as fun, and we don't.
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: Want to he doesn't even need to be talking. It
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: could have just been the of the or it could
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: have like cut to him after. Yeah. I don't know,
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: but I just thought it's like I go or whatever.
- 1:29:03Speaker 5: And he turns the camera on himself, like it would
- 1:29:06Speaker 5: have been great.
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: Yeah, make it a third, put it in.
- 1:29:09Speaker 5: That's a third. As a third credits scene, come on, yes,
- 1:29:12Speaker 5: but I just was like, that.
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: Would have been so I wish they would have done
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: that now so much.
- 1:29:17Speaker 3: That was all the trivia I had.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: Did you have any roup? I saw the Russo Brothers
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: directed the post credit scene, and that's the first involvement
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: since endgame, so that was interesting. And as far as
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: people up for roles, it looks like Steven Young was
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: supposed to be Bob, but because of the saga after
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: Strikes when they were able to get back, he had
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: some scheduling conflicts. So that's a bummer, and it makes
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: sense since he and Jake Schreyer worked on Beef. I
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: love him.
- 1:29:54Speaker 5: I think he's stellar, but I'm really I was so
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: pleased with Lewis Pullman. I feel like I feel like
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: Steven Ewan is like a little too pretty, you know,
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: like if like he's a little too polished, it wouldn't
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: have been as believable to me as this really like
- 1:30:08Speaker 5: damaged guy, whereas they made Lewis Pullman feel before you
- 1:30:12Speaker 5: see he's kind of a rip. He's kind of ripped,
- 1:30:13Speaker 5: you know, he's got all like the baggy scrubs on.
- 1:30:16Speaker 5: You're like, this is just like a sad, kind of
- 1:30:18Speaker 5: greasy little guy, you know who's I feel like he
- 1:30:21Speaker 5: fits so perfectly. I feel like it was serendipitous that
- 1:30:24Speaker 5: it didn't work out for for him and that he
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: could come in as a stellar character later on in
- 1:30:28Speaker 5: the N two. Like I feel like almost like Century
- 1:30:31Speaker 5: is incredible, but it's a little bit like, uh, like
- 1:30:34Speaker 5: what's his name? As Adam Warlock, You're like to see
- 1:30:36Speaker 5: you as much now you're this like really powerful character,
- 1:30:39Speaker 5: but are we going to see you utilized as much
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: as we want to? Whereas Steven Ewan could play a
- 1:30:43Speaker 5: more key character because he's such a great actor.
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: So mm hmm, Yeah, he's awesome. Another great actor that
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: was up Ao at Aberria was cast as mel. She
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: also had scheduling conflicts and she would have been grass
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: have been really good in that role. That's good. I
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: like that a lot. Yeah, that was all I ad nice. Rather,
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: did you have any that we missed or anything?
- 1:31:08Speaker 5: No, I mean I said my little spiel about the
- 1:31:10Speaker 5: different like iterations of the team. Fascinating it is that
- 1:31:12Speaker 5: this this iteration, whereas like the Guardians of the Galaxy
- 1:31:16Speaker 5: is also one of those where there's like that classic
- 1:31:18Speaker 5: Guardians team that is like Yondu and that we see
- 1:31:22Speaker 5: at the at the end of the second one. I
- 1:31:24Speaker 5: think after Yon do dies, remember, like we see yeah,
- 1:31:27Speaker 5: we see Sylvester Stallone and like those other guys. That's like,
- 1:31:30Speaker 5: that's like the O G Guardians and then the Newer Guardians.
- 1:31:33Speaker 5: There were comic roots of the star Lord led team yep,
- 1:31:37Speaker 5: but in this one, I couldn't really find an iteration
- 1:31:40Speaker 5: that was like this group of characters. Yeah, us agent.
- 1:31:43Speaker 5: You know, John Walker is part of a lot of them,
- 1:31:46Speaker 5: but Yolene is like not as much Fucky is, but
- 1:31:49Speaker 5: like certain like Ghost is not. You know, it's a
- 1:31:52Speaker 5: very different iteration. So that was just that was my
- 1:31:54Speaker 5: cool little tidbit that a more customized version for the
- 1:31:59Speaker 5: MC you.
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: Nice, nice. Will there be a sequel Judgment day, Yes, yeah,
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: they said at the end the new Avengers and Bob
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: we'll return.
- 1:32:10Speaker 5: Do you guys think do you think there'll be a
- 1:32:11Speaker 5: proper sequel or more just an expansion of them within
- 1:32:16Speaker 5: a movie like Secret Wars or whatever.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: You know, I think both both.
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: You think, I think they'll survive, but maybe not to
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: know what's going to happen in Secret Wars that it's.
- 1:32:27Speaker 5: Like exactly because Doomsday We've got whatever is coming up,
- 1:32:30Speaker 5: it's you know, absolutely ridiculous cast and all the downy
- 1:32:33Speaker 5: Junior as Doom stuff. We'll see how that all plays out.
- 1:32:35Speaker 5: But we're getting into crazy multiversal stuff here. You know,
- 1:32:39Speaker 5: we're obviously spoiler alert anybody who hasn't seen this movie.
- 1:32:42Speaker 5: We see the Fantastic Four ship come from another the
- 1:32:45Speaker 5: other dimension, from a different Earth dimension where they're in
- 1:32:48Speaker 5: the sixties or whatever. We're getting some crazy crossover here.
- 1:32:51Speaker 5: And I'm a little like, is Secret War is going
- 1:32:53Speaker 5: to be like a soft reboot? You know what I mean? Like,
- 1:32:57Speaker 5: is it just gonna shake up our MCU? So now
- 1:32:59Speaker 5: we can have mutants, and we can have these other
- 1:33:02Speaker 5: key members of this pantheon of comic characters come into
- 1:33:07Speaker 5: play when they haven't existed in in what is.
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: What is this earth buge?
- 1:33:12Speaker 5: In our proper? Is it six one six?
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: Is that what's right? I think that's right.
- 1:33:17Speaker 5: Because we hear like nine nine nine off Spider Man ones,
- 1:33:21Speaker 5: and we hear like eight five two as in Doctor Strange. Yeah.
- 1:33:25Speaker 5: So anyways, like I'm a little bit trepidacious because I
- 1:33:29Speaker 5: keep holding my breath. I'm like, are we going to
- 1:33:31Speaker 5: see a new Avengers movie with these guys, or is
- 1:33:33Speaker 5: it gonna is it gonna get shaken up with Secret
- 1:33:36Speaker 5: Wars to the point where it's totally different afterwards. I
- 1:33:39Speaker 5: don't know. I hope we see him again. I want
- 1:33:41Speaker 5: to see Bob figure out his duality and freaking wreck
- 1:33:44Speaker 5: and fools.
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, I love it. But yeah I don't.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: I don't know both both both h Well, do you
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: want to play games? Yeah?
- 1:33:55Speaker 5: Always.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: I did a starting five classic, and you guys know
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: how it works. I'm gonna five actors. When you know
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: the name of the film, bring in with your name.
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: No negative points for wrong answers. You can get more
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: points if you guess the names of the actors that
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: are remaining. There's also a theme this one. The theme
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: might be tougher. I like it. I like it. It's
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: not as obvious as a lot of mine are. So well, see,
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: we'll see if you can get it. Are we ready? Yeah?
- 1:34:28Speaker 5: Ready?
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: Right? Number one? The first name is Dan Foegler mm hmmmm.
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: The second name is el Fanning, Dakota's sister. The third
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: name is Monica Barbero. The fourth name is Edward Norton.
- 1:34:53Speaker 5: Oh goodness.
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: In The fifth and final name is Timothy Shella may.
- 1:35:01Speaker 5: Oh Riley. Oh yeah, oh, And of course I didn't
- 1:35:06Speaker 5: actually see it, and I'm not gonna be able to
- 1:35:07Speaker 5: say the name of it. It's the freakin.
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: Yeah, uh got it.
- 1:35:14Speaker 5: I'm just proud that I got it. I'm not going
- 1:35:16Speaker 5: to know the name. I never saw it.
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: So what's the name of that? I was like, I
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: was like undeserving. I was like, what is it?
- 1:35:26Speaker 5: Something? Something all encompassing?
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: Is a rolling stone?
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: No, what is it?
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: She's Dakota Fanning's sister. Wow, that makes so much sense.
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: I don't know that I do that. Yeah, that's yeah cool. Yeah,
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: one point. Let's go to number two. The first name
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: is John Ham Yeah mm hmmm. The second name is
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: Jennifer Connelly mm hm hmm. The third name is Val Kilmer.
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: The fourth name is Miles. I said Miles already, So
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: Miles Teller. It's top Gun. It's top gunck frick damn it.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: He's such a maverick. One name remaining Thomas Cruse.
- 1:36:19Speaker 5: That is correct, Thomas Cruse never spoken never ever? Is
- 1:36:24Speaker 5: that not what you guys call no Thomas?
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: All right, we got a complete unknown and Top Gun Maverick.
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: Let's go to number three. The first name Gary Cole.
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: The second name is d Drich Bader Bukes bus Space.
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: That is correct. In three names remain Jennifer and yes, yes,
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: why can't I think of name? I mean it's not
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: a it's not a huge name. But we did a
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: thing on it, right, we definitely did. But you know, uh,
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: Stephen Root Steven and one name remaining the lead of
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: the movie. I don't think I have it, Riley. Do
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: you know the lead of Office Space. Yeah, it's a
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: it's a deep poll. His name is Ron Livingston. Livingston.
- 1:37:19Speaker 5: Okay, I'm gonna take a serious guess at the theme. Okay,
- 1:37:24Speaker 5: movies that Riley hasn't seen.
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: Yes, I sent you a survey of all the movies.
- 1:37:33Speaker 5: Give me a list of movies Riley hasn't seen.
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: So you got three points on that one. Damn, that
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: is not correct, Riley for the theme. Let's go to
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: number four. And I don't know if you've seen number
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: four either, And you're not gonna know the first two names. Probably.
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: The first name is Catherine Irby. The second name is
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: Charlie Chorismo. That sounds for the third name. Yeah, you
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: definitely know. Yeah. The third name is Julie Haggardy. Another
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: person you might not know their name, you definitely know them.
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: But this is where you're going to know people. Number
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: four Richard Dreyfus. Oh, yes, Bukes, what about Bob? What
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: about Bob? Yes, Bill Murray, Bill Murray. That is two points.
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: Then people named Bob are the main character. Every single
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: movie features a character named Bob.
- 1:38:47Speaker 5: You beat me to it. Just when you said what
- 1:38:48Speaker 5: about Bob? I should just said my name and rung
- 1:38:51Speaker 5: in because I was like, oh, yep, it's Bob.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Because we had the Bob Dylan movie. Lewis
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: Pullman was Bob and top Gun Maverick the Bob the
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: spaces What would you say? You do you do here?
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: All right? Maybe that'll help. That was two points in
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: the theme right just for poy okay, great, that is correct.
- 1:39:13Speaker 5: I got some I got some ketchup alright.
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: Number five. The first name is Morris Day. The second
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: name is Carrie Fisher mm hm oh. The third name
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: is George Carlin. Oh. The fourth name is Jason Muse
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: Bugs bugs Dogma, I think is the only one. Cal
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: It's not. It's not boopy sticks that would have.
- 1:39:52Speaker 5: Had would have had Damon and stuff up much higher, right,
- 1:39:57Speaker 5: say it again, we would have had Affleck and Damon
- 1:39:59Speaker 5: And if it was Dog.
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: That's correct, that's correct.
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: Silent Yeah, yeah, well for sure.
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: And number five is is Kevin Smith.
- 1:40:10Speaker 5: So it's a different.
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: So yess like, it's Notts. This was Jay and silent,
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: Bob Strike just.
- 1:40:20Speaker 5: A straight up and.
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: Who is George Carlin has a whole bit about rules
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: of the Road and uh says, you pretty much have
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: to give Filatios that's his bit. Carrie Fisher was like
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: a nun. But they have a whole thing with Morris
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: Day and the.
- 1:40:40Speaker 5: Time Jason I saw the movie is that Jason muses, Yeah,
- 1:40:46Speaker 5: and everyone knows that guy, that actor's name.
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: But it's funny because Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: in that as well. They do they do a thing.
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: Uh it's goodwill hunting to the Hunting Season.
- 1:41:02Speaker 5: I love how funny those two are together, just like
- 1:41:04Speaker 5: how fine they are with being like a joke like goofy,
- 1:41:10Speaker 5: like it's almost meta, you know, like self referential. It's
- 1:41:13Speaker 5: really Yes, it's funny and it's so good.
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: And he says, they shoot somebody and then he says apple, sauce,
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: bitch or something. All right, let's keep going. Number six.
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: The first name is Rob Schneider. The second name is
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: Farusa Bulk. A third name, though, is Henry Winkler. Riley
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: water Boy. And he's on the board. You got two
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: names remanding. Now he's actually a Bobby Bobby, but still still.
- 1:41:55Speaker 5: So Adam Sandler correct, and then you're playing to have
- 1:42:02Speaker 5: fool's ball to Kathy Bates.
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: Right, nice, nice, three points for Riley.
- 1:42:07Speaker 5: Nicely, wasn't a shutout.
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: That's not her best film up there, blood pressures this,
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: thank you all right. I will give you a hint
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: on this next one. It is animated. The first name
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: is Wallace Sean mm hmm. The second name is Jason Lee.
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: Number three, Samuel L. Jackson, number four, Holly Hunter, Riley Riley,
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: The Incredibles, the Incredible is in one name remaining nice nice.
- 1:42:55Speaker 5: I'm sure it's mister Incredible himself.
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: Who it is? His name is Bob.
- 1:42:59Speaker 5: I don't remember that name. What's his member? I will
- 1:43:04Speaker 5: just I'll do a quick pass on it. I don't
- 1:43:06Speaker 5: remember it's coach.
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: Boy. I can't think of his name at all. Right now,
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: I'm out his name is Craig Tieck Nelson. Another point
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: from Riley done coming on strong is the next one
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: is not animate. The first name is Tim Roth mm hmm.
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: The second name is Walton Goggins. Love him who? I
