- 0:17Speaker 2: and Doctor Silverbles himself.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Slock Clock stole it all right, folks.
- 0:24Speaker 3: We're flying here the highways and byeways, beautiful West Virginia, USA.
- 0:30Speaker 4: I just need a fucking McDonald's. Jesus Christ.
- 0:33Speaker 5: Well, welcome everyone to the bonus episode here for the
- 0:36Speaker 5: month of August twenty twenty one. This is the Hard
- 0:39Speaker 5: Foundation bonus episode. It is an edge head.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Q and all edge you all lord.
- 0:45Speaker 3: We just tore the house down at ASW West Virginia.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Yeah, Broski versus Brian. I thought it was a masterpiece.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Shane Douglas, the Evil Referee, Heath friend of the podcast
- 0:57Speaker 3: Mane his return to pro wrestling.
- 1:00Speaker 4: I don't know what happened.
- 1:01Speaker 6: I don't know if like my knee pads or my
- 1:02Speaker 6: boots or who like my calves, like just cramped up
- 1:05Speaker 6: in the middle of the match.
- 1:06Speaker 4: The match. I just had to like sit able by boots.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I was like, we haven't even talked about this in
- 1:10Speaker 3: real life, and I'm just gonna bury him, right here
- 1:12Speaker 3: Heath had to throw one punch and duck a clothesline,
- 1:15Speaker 3: and he forgot.
- 1:17Speaker 6: He also was like trying to unbutton his shirt to
- 1:20Speaker 6: reveal the REP shirt and he was thereious so slow
- 1:22Speaker 6: that they just had fucking like hogd it.
- 1:24Speaker 4: He's like, this is a good shirt.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Was an eighty dollars button out? Yeah? Great night, Great night.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Anyway, we're here to talk about a very pivotal part
- 1:34Speaker 3: of our career, literally, something that saved our careers.
- 1:37Speaker 6: I mean, this part of the career had happened, not
- 1:39Speaker 6: only Will would not be having this pocket out of
- 1:41Speaker 6: the business.
- 1:42Speaker 3: There is no ride of revolution, there is no there's
- 1:45Speaker 3: no losing straight, there is no great wrestling.
- 1:47Speaker 6: There cuts a w Now. It was just like that
- 1:51Speaker 6: when we started, and we would have been gone. In fact,
- 1:54Speaker 6: I believe we were supposed to be gone because we're
- 1:55Speaker 6: not in the program that comes out.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Wow remember that. Yeah, you're right, we're not in the program.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yeah something.
- 2:01Speaker 4: It's like, oh, the writing is on the wall on
- 2:03Speaker 4: the progress.
- 2:04Speaker 3: We're I don't know about modern like right now, w
- 2:07Speaker 3: But when we started, it was like a zero strike policy.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Man. It was pretty crazy. Guy's not over, you know,
- 2:15Speaker 1: I'm yeah.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Because Arnie had one match, see you you know, like
- 2:18Speaker 3: it's scary, due it was real scary.
- 2:20Speaker 5: That is wild. Yeah, especially we've talked about it on
- 2:25Speaker 5: this very bonus podcast. The work that you guys did
- 2:28Speaker 5: in Deep South to get brought up to flounder and
- 2:32Speaker 5: then get fired, that would have been miserable.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I mean I feel that way about all the guys
- 2:35Speaker 3: just got like a you know this weekend that were
- 2:37Speaker 3: you know, guys have moved up rooted their whole life
- 2:40Speaker 3: to Orlando and didn't even get a year you know stuff.
- 2:42Speaker 1: But that's what that's the business, and that's how that's
- 2:45Speaker 1: what we came up with. The like, that's what codd
- 2:47Speaker 1: old version of that that's been going on a couple
- 2:49Speaker 1: of years or whatever.
- 2:50Speaker 4: I'm trying to explain people like, this is how how
- 2:53Speaker 4: it used to be. I'm not saying it should be
- 2:55Speaker 4: that way, but this is how it was.
- 2:57Speaker 3: I mean, any think it's better for them that, like,
- 3:00Speaker 3: when you're an ax T, you're at least presented to
- 3:02Speaker 3: be a star, where like we were in developmental where
- 3:04Speaker 3: like the last thing they wanted is for you to
- 3:06Speaker 3: be a star. They want you to be nothing. So
- 3:08Speaker 3: when you call up your fresh and never seen you know.
- 3:10Speaker 3: They don't want you to build your name and developmental.
- 3:12Speaker 3: They don't like that at all.
- 3:13Speaker 6: This isn't an easy business, A tough business, A tough
- 3:15Speaker 6: business to family.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Gordy or did someone else say it?
- 3:22Speaker 3: I feel like Gallas said it, Leisure this tough business,
- 3:26Speaker 3: all right, So some families.
- 3:28Speaker 5: We're talking about the edgehead run and a little couple
- 3:32Speaker 5: of housekeeping things. We have done multiple podcasts leading up
- 3:35Speaker 5: to this time period. We're going to do this podcast
- 3:37Speaker 5: by answering. We're going to ask the guys questions from
- 3:40Speaker 5: you guys in the Heart Foundation. Only people in the
- 3:43Speaker 5: Herd Foundation are hearing this. Only people in the Herd
- 3:46Speaker 5: Foundation could ask the questions hard Foundation folks.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Go back and listen to these if you haven't, They've
- 3:50Speaker 3: been very therapeutic for me.
- 3:51Speaker 6: I don't know about ones about Deep South, the wrestling
- 3:54Speaker 6: by the way, rest in Peace, Jody Hamilton.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I was feeling so sentimental about Jody hamardin this week.
- 4:03Speaker 3: I was boarding my flight yesterday and I'm, you know,
- 4:05Speaker 3: ad free show shout out to Conrad Thompson. I'm looking
- 4:07Speaker 3: at listen to the per I listened to.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I did just because I'm like, you know what I
- 4:12Speaker 1: got here?
- 4:12Speaker 3: This is on it it's from like two years ago
- 4:15Speaker 3: and he's being interviewed. It's pens Are interviewing Jody Hownt
- 4:17Speaker 3: and it's priceless.
- 4:19Speaker 6: I think I can actually do it, but that's like, man,
- 4:21Speaker 6: he's Wikipedia, but he's just no.
- 4:24Speaker 3: But pens Are actually worked for him and like admired him.
- 4:27Speaker 3: So it's a it's a little more natural than then
- 4:29Speaker 3: normal Penzer. You know, he has no clue row heat
- 4:32Speaker 3: Rush is and that's the Wikipedia. Yeah, it's pretty good,
- 4:35Speaker 3: but that like if you you know, Jody Allend's so
- 4:37Speaker 3: old school, most people don't even know who he is,
- 4:39Speaker 3: you know, but man, just burying all.
- 4:41Speaker 1: There and know what the fuck they were doing, you know,
- 4:43Speaker 1: Like it was just so.
- 4:45Speaker 6: So Jody, like ingrained in my brain that I truly
- 4:48Speaker 6: believe culture to this. In a tag team match, you
- 4:52Speaker 6: should be going for the That's the story of the matches,
- 4:55Speaker 6: going for the tag the whole match. It's not like move, move,
- 4:58Speaker 6: movement move, it's keeping your opponent's that he'll corner getting
- 5:01Speaker 6: closer and closer and closer and closer, and then you
- 5:03Speaker 6: make the tag. Not just like how many cool double teams.
- 5:05Speaker 6: Can I do you know, like that's what I'm in
- 5:07Speaker 6: a tag match to this day. If I like bump,
- 5:10Speaker 6: I'm reaching no matter how closer far I am, I'm
- 5:12Speaker 6: always like just it's.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Just like so easy or even as simple as like
- 5:15Speaker 3: you used to be like never cook a man in
- 5:17Speaker 3: the ass and then it sounded like funny.
- 5:19Speaker 1: We would laugh at it when we were kids.
- 5:21Speaker 3: But he's right, because like, you want people to believe
- 5:23Speaker 3: you're in a real fight and it's serious, and if
- 5:26Speaker 3: you did something like that, it's just what the mentality
- 5:28Speaker 3: of what he's trying to say, it means. It takes
- 5:30Speaker 3: the out of that you know, what you're doing, if
- 5:32Speaker 3: you're whatever, if you're having a Santino match, different story.
- 5:34Speaker 3: But you want people to believe that you're in this
- 5:36Speaker 3: athletic contest and forget about that it's you know, pro wrestling.
- 5:41Speaker 3: You know, he had some pretty valuable advice for sure.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Definitely I said this to Connor from the Ascension, the
- 5:49Speaker 3: oldest old school guy that we've ever got to be
- 5:51Speaker 3: around and learned from, for sure, right.
- 5:53Speaker 4: And actually like had something to give us.
- 5:54Speaker 3: For sure. He ran the power plant. He worked in WW.
- 5:59Speaker 3: He ranted developmental, like pretty pretty significant run. He made
- 6:04Speaker 3: him enter the Guard and like when he was like
- 6:06Speaker 3: nineteen with his brothers the Assassin's.
- 6:08Speaker 6: The craziest thing is that I have not seen or
- 6:10Speaker 6: spoke to him since the day we ripped down the
- 6:12Speaker 6: giant paper view banners and cleaned up Deep South and left.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I have his book that he signed to me. I
- 6:19Speaker 1: still have it to this day.
- 6:20Speaker 4: But that's before all that.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I know.
- 6:21Speaker 3: I'm just saying, that's like one of my chairish items
- 6:23Speaker 3: now and it says something like, Brian, I would love
- 6:25Speaker 3: to work with you in Manifacud or something like that.
- 6:28Speaker 3: It's just something like that. It's pretty awesome, So I'll
- 6:30Speaker 3: keep that forever.
- 6:31Speaker 5: That's cool, all right, So real quick, last housecaping note.
- 6:36Speaker 5: Like Brian said, we're driving in a car right now,
- 6:38Speaker 5: so sound isn't as we normally use asault.
- 6:40Speaker 4: We might have to make it a little quick stop
- 6:42Speaker 4: for some fucking McDonald.
- 6:44Speaker 5: Very red Broski is wearing a lapel mic, so his
- 6:48Speaker 5: sound is not as good as normal. But whatever, you're
- 6:50Speaker 5: gonna be able to hear him, all right. I'm not
- 6:52Speaker 5: even going to ask their questions. Let's just start from
- 6:55Speaker 5: the beginning. You've told the story on the podcast, the
- 6:57Speaker 5: Bonus podcast, the MC podcast. Story has been told. But
- 7:00Speaker 5: let's set the scene here. How do you start being
- 7:04Speaker 5: an edgehead? What happens all that stuff?
- 7:07Speaker 4: I told?
- 7:09Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, we've got a guest we gotta run in
- 7:11Speaker 5: here on the podcast, Sally.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Who is this, lady Jesus?
- 7:15Speaker 3: Anyway, Okay, this story has been told, so I'll tell
- 7:17Speaker 3: it in the most abbreviated way I can. But it's
- 7:21Speaker 3: also pretty pivotal, and if you haven't heard it before,
- 7:23Speaker 3: it's for sure entertaining and interesting. Anyway, we get called
- 7:28Speaker 3: up in May seven May first pretty much never successful
- 7:33Speaker 3: as the major brothers and the main roster at e
- 7:34Speaker 3: CW drafted to SmackDown lingering, working going to all the TVs,
- 7:39Speaker 3: but maybe doing something once a month, just dying a
- 7:43Speaker 3: slow death. I remember Dreamer playing the side saying like
- 7:45Speaker 3: they're probably gonna fire you guys, like, yeah, I remember that.
- 7:47Speaker 6: I remember telling you that I should probably like tell
- 7:49Speaker 6: them I had cancer.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Yeah you're saying it.
- 7:53Speaker 3: It's this thing where Matt says he had cancer because
- 7:56Speaker 3: he did just to save your job, just to save
- 7:58Speaker 3: your jobs, just insane.
- 7:59Speaker 1: But he literally like that might be your only hope
- 8:01Speaker 1: with this.
- 8:02Speaker 3: So simultaneously, at the same time, we're still in OVW
- 8:05Speaker 3: making all the OVW towns like we've we've covered on
- 8:08Speaker 3: these shows, like working seven days a week literally always wrestling.
- 8:11Speaker 3: And uh, back then, there were these days when the
- 8:16Speaker 3: office would come down, the entire writing team would come
- 8:19Speaker 3: to developmental and you would put on a show for
- 8:22Speaker 3: just them. So it's like Michael Hayes and like seven
- 8:24Speaker 3: other riders would be sitting a giant you know, OVW
- 8:27Speaker 3: arena or a Deep South arena and just sit in
- 8:29Speaker 3: a bleacher and you come out and have like full blown,
- 8:32Speaker 3: like full card for them.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Because they couldn't just turn on USA Network can.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Watch and say, oh, I want to call this guy out.
- 8:38Speaker 1: They had no idea.
- 8:39Speaker 6: So and we'd also be sending them like promos like
- 8:43Speaker 6: every two weeks.
- 8:44Speaker 3: But I know for a fact, no one ever, So
- 8:47Speaker 3: I mean maybe some like low low, low level riders
- 8:50Speaker 3: would see them at a boredom, but nothing absolutely not.
- 8:54Speaker 3: So we're we're stuck there and we had this day
- 8:59Speaker 3: coming up, and we're already on the road and we
- 9:01Speaker 3: know that they're coming like the next day or whatever.
- 9:03Speaker 3: So we saw Michael a's a TV and we're like, hey,
- 9:06Speaker 3: we're already up here, but we have to like do
- 9:08Speaker 3: this tomorrow because we're still in OBW Like what do
- 9:10Speaker 3: you what do you want us to do? And he goes,
- 9:12Speaker 3: will show me something different, and like we took that
- 9:16Speaker 3: as like, okay, go fuck yourself, fuck you, we will.
- 9:19Speaker 3: So we had already been like half kind of concocted
- 9:21Speaker 3: this idea and he was out with the injury at
- 9:24Speaker 3: the time that we were just real life mega fans
- 9:27Speaker 3: of Edge at real life like for real, always loved them,
- 9:31Speaker 3: always admired him, studied his matches the whole time, went
- 9:33Speaker 3: about mental you know.
- 9:34Speaker 4: We didn't know him, like we knew him, but we.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Really had no relationship with him besides like a hin
- 9:39Speaker 3: and buy Like I don't I can't recall ever having
- 9:41Speaker 3: a conversation prior to that.
- 9:43Speaker 6: I do remember before he gets hurt or maybe it's
- 9:47Speaker 6: like right after it goes back, but we're not like
- 9:50Speaker 6: Edge has yet, Like we're you know, we had to
- 9:53Speaker 6: like go through the ring like practice like fake practice
- 9:55Speaker 6: moves and ship yeah yeah, and like me and you
- 9:57Speaker 6: were doing like where I would roll through into that
- 9:59Speaker 6: fuck like.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Real bounce things that Edine Christian would do, and like.
- 10:02Speaker 4: We did it to like I don't see, like, man,
- 10:04Speaker 4: check this out, Like.
- 10:06Speaker 3: I don't remember that at all, and then we never
- 10:09Speaker 3: actually do we ever execute that in the match?
- 10:10Speaker 1: I think so so.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean we're talking no relationship. So this is
- 10:15Speaker 3: like a complete just pipe dream scenario. And we had
- 10:19Speaker 3: been watching a lot of Entourage at the time. Entourage
- 10:22Speaker 3: is I think it still holds up to this day.
- 10:23Speaker 3: It's a great show that we were like so submerged
- 10:26Speaker 3: in and like loved and like we're pretty much obsessed with.
- 10:29Speaker 3: And we were like what if we were like his
- 10:31Speaker 3: Drama and Turtle, you know, and like we were like
- 10:33Speaker 3: his Entourage. That was the pitch and the idea. So
- 10:39Speaker 3: An McDonald's, can I get it? Yeah, after Michael Hayes
- 10:42Speaker 3: kind of pulled our punk card, we went straight to
- 10:45Speaker 3: them use the right lane, Sally Princeton, Presburg, Virginia Welcome Center.
- 10:52Speaker 1: See, we're not lying straight to the merch guy the
- 10:57Speaker 1: booth thing.
- 10:58Speaker 3: We already befriendised, Like we already befriended those guys because like,
- 11:02Speaker 3: you know, obviously we're doing nothing. And but then they
- 11:07Speaker 3: also like were impressed with us because we were such
- 11:09Speaker 3: fans and it could be like, well what about this
- 11:11Speaker 3: early you know it's cool. So he gave us all
- 11:13Speaker 3: everything Edge he had in there, this beanie, I remember
- 11:16Speaker 3: this necklace like his his his shirt at the.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Time, you know, sex and violence or whatever.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and then we had a So then at the
- 11:26Speaker 3: actual showcase day we wore like our red trunks all that.
- 11:31Speaker 3: So when you do it, it's not like a normal
- 11:32Speaker 3: wrestling card. It's like you come out promo whoever it is,
- 11:36Speaker 3: whether it's a tag team or singles, your opponent comes
- 11:38Speaker 3: out promo.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Then you have the match.
- 11:41Speaker 3: So we did a pretty awesome skit where like we
- 11:44Speaker 3: pretended that Edge was calling us and we were running
- 11:46Speaker 3: around doing errands for him and starts.
- 11:48Speaker 4: We came to Edges music that too, which.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Really caught everyone's attention and was like, what the fuck's
- 11:52Speaker 3: going on here? Worked heel, which they had only ever
- 11:54Speaker 3: seen the Major brothers work baby Face up until this point.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Had the match didn't matter because I think we like
- 12:00Speaker 3: crushed this promo and made it very entertaining.
- 12:02Speaker 4: I think we were on the phone with Edge like ordering.
- 12:04Speaker 3: His call, That's what I'm saying, where we fake a
- 12:07Speaker 3: phone call with him and we're taking orders from him,
- 12:09Speaker 3: and there's something funny. It's straight, straight up lines that
- 12:13Speaker 3: we stole from Authrash, like like you.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Couldn't get laid without Edge or they're sitting with wherever
- 12:17Speaker 1: they would say that.
- 12:18Speaker 4: You know what, that's exactly what it is, like, yeah.
- 12:20Speaker 3: The way they were doing, you couldn't get laid without Vince.
- 12:23Speaker 3: He's like, does care you know something like that?
- 12:25Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 12:26Speaker 3: It was that straight up stolen. But the writers don't
- 12:28Speaker 3: know that. You know everything and it literally in my
- 12:33Speaker 3: opinion and I don't care. It's been years, and I say,
- 12:35Speaker 3: we stole the day like they weren't expecting that. They
- 12:38Speaker 3: saw everything else that was like you know whatever, you know,
- 12:40Speaker 3: generic parrestling stuff, and I think they were so shocked
- 12:42Speaker 3: by that it was in their minds.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Then the next week at TV we see Michael and like,
- 12:47Speaker 1: what did you think about it? I think that has
- 12:49Speaker 1: like any legs and he goes, whal, you can't just
- 12:52Speaker 1: beleave with Edge because you want to beg with Edge.
- 12:54Speaker 1: How are you gonna do it?
- 12:55Speaker 3: I need a story and we're like okay, so now
- 12:57Speaker 3: again we're like, fuck you, you pulled our punk card. We
- 13:00Speaker 3: gonna figure this out. At your just return, we knew
- 13:03Speaker 3: that triple threat was coming up. We're like, what if
- 13:05Speaker 3: we're We're dressed up just like an identical blah blah
- 13:08Speaker 3: blah blah, and we take the bumps for him and
- 13:10Speaker 3: he steals his victory and you don't know who's who
- 13:12Speaker 3: and somehow, And I just said this recently, like how
- 13:17Speaker 3: many things have you pitched in your career?
- 13:20Speaker 1: Thousand? Enough?
- 13:21Speaker 6: Hundreds like not good ones have gone through, you know
- 13:24Speaker 6: what I'm saying, I know, but important ones where I can't.
- 13:26Speaker 4: I can't say. It's it's it's worthless.
- 13:28Speaker 1: That it's not.
- 13:29Speaker 3: No, it's like a squeaky wheel situation, like you gotta
- 13:32Speaker 3: at least try, you know. The worst thing to say
- 13:33Speaker 3: is no. But I've pitched hundreds of things in my
- 13:36Speaker 3: career and this is one of like the handful. Thank
- 13:40Speaker 3: god that somehow they listened. And I even remember that day.
- 13:45Speaker 3: So it's arm again No. Seven in Pittsburgh and the
- 13:47Speaker 3: old arena that actually Shane Dougas was talking about today,
- 13:50Speaker 3: and like I remember, get called down the ringside and
- 13:53Speaker 3: we're finally going to do this thing, and Undertaker sitting
- 13:56Speaker 3: there with his arms crossed He's like, well, so like
- 13:58Speaker 3: he wanted us to like call the spots, and I'm like,
- 13:59Speaker 3: this is like a zero to sixty scenario. Like Jabron
- 14:02Speaker 3: Major brothers from catering are not telling Undertaker what spots
- 14:05Speaker 3: to do with his main event, Papery Batch.
- 14:07Speaker 6: Like it's like remember it was it was a little
- 14:09Speaker 6: cap because they kept us in like a room and
- 14:11Speaker 6: tattooed us and like and we kept us like hidden
- 14:14Speaker 6: from people.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and then they gave us like size three XL sweatpants.
- 14:19Speaker 6: And they were supposed to be decals that didn't come,
- 14:22Speaker 6: so they legit sharpened it on us.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Somebody messed up was supposed to order decals and they
- 14:27Speaker 3: just sharp eyed us.
- 14:28Speaker 1: So we're in the Pittsburgh arena where we are. You're right,
- 14:31Speaker 1: we were hidden.
- 14:33Speaker 3: We got someone forgot to order these decals. So the
- 14:37Speaker 3: Ritchie from Magic and Julie I believe, No, it was
- 14:43Speaker 3: it Jan the maker. I think it's Jan the makeup late.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Everyone was doing it because they had a brushing it done.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Yeah, and they were like multiple people just sharpening us
- 14:50Speaker 3: and like drawing on us the tattoos which is not
- 14:53Speaker 3: which probably man have made them look a little better.
- 14:55Speaker 3: I don't know to get that done, and we're hidden
- 14:58Speaker 3: in this room. Then they brought like three x black
- 15:00Speaker 3: sweatpants and sweatshirts and hoodies to get us because we
- 15:05Speaker 3: went out with the crew and then you ducking and
- 15:07Speaker 3: go unto the.
- 15:07Speaker 6: Ring and this is like fast forwarding a bit, but
- 15:10Speaker 6: it's weird because this building is no longer there. But
- 15:13Speaker 6: I also debut the Woo Woo Woo guy here. It's
- 15:15Speaker 6: like weird, like two like restarts in the same building.
- 15:18Speaker 3: And we should also rewind the week prior to this,
- 15:22Speaker 3: we had Edge brought a bunch of his like extra
- 15:25Speaker 3: gear and we had to try it on like secretly,
- 15:29Speaker 3: so Michael Hayes could see it to see that we
- 15:30Speaker 3: could even pull it off, that it would even be
- 15:32Speaker 3: like believable that we would look like Edge clones. We
- 15:35Speaker 3: were in like this room when remember we did it,
- 15:37Speaker 3: and he came in and just checked us out.
- 15:38Speaker 1: And then for some reason.
- 15:40Speaker 3: I told the sorry times when it's Greataki saw us.
- 15:43Speaker 3: He's like, oh you guys, He goes, oh yeah, and
- 15:45Speaker 3: he give us like a thumbs up that it looked good.
- 15:47Speaker 3: So I was like, okay, we have the thumbs Maybe
- 15:49Speaker 3: we're onto something.
- 15:51Speaker 4: And then at Kowloon in the bathroom, Edge tells it's happening.
- 15:54Speaker 6: So I don't know there's a couple of weeks before
- 15:56Speaker 6: or what we we had to look up the dates
- 15:57Speaker 6: that when we were in Boston.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Like weh, so, yeah, that's for sir Boston in the
- 16:02Speaker 3: first time we were cut lovies.
- 16:04Speaker 4: But you write the email to him.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Yes, so yeah, I have to skip that. I went
- 16:09Speaker 1: up to him.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Two or three weeks out and said, hey, Adam, we
- 16:15Speaker 3: have this idea, blah blah, you min me just get
- 16:17Speaker 3: your email, and we wrote up the pitch and we
- 16:19Speaker 3: sent it to him and I emailed it to him,
- 16:21Speaker 3: and so he clearly located.
- 16:25Speaker 1: You know, top top guy could have said f off.
- 16:27Speaker 3: So a lot a lot of weird things like just
- 16:30Speaker 3: kind of all worked out and then I it's nuts,
- 16:34Speaker 3: but like rest and even then being like whatever we
- 16:36Speaker 3: were twenty two wrestling is so like I believe it
- 16:40Speaker 3: when it happens, even being under the ring, this has
- 16:44Speaker 3: to like happen, like we have to get this sick up.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Can't fuck this up and like get told to do it,
- 16:50Speaker 3: you know what I mean? They could just say, oh,
- 16:51Speaker 3: cancel the right to cancel you know, the major brothers.
- 16:54Speaker 6: My biggest fear is like we're like crawling out and
- 16:57Speaker 6: they never on commentary say it's.
- 16:59Speaker 1: The one night.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Oh the fuck yeah, And then you know, obviously it's great.
- 17:06Speaker 1: You know, we love it.
- 17:08Speaker 3: I think everyone's happy with it. Did like a dot
- 17:10Speaker 3: com right with Vicky Vicky or ship we have like
- 17:13Speaker 3: champagne and stuff because he wins the title. And we
- 17:16Speaker 3: took all the still photos, took the photos, which it's
- 17:19Speaker 3: weird because Bill didn't really use those still photos to
- 17:20Speaker 3: make the figures. What a shocker, uh mckeena mash up.
- 17:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:27Speaker 3: But then so that's Sunday night in Pittsburgh. We don't
- 17:31Speaker 3: do ross and we're off Monday.
- 17:32Speaker 4: But I remember, but now we're scrubbing these fucking tattoos off.
- 17:36Speaker 3: It was insane because it's sharply not easy to get off.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Took it was like took the full two days. I
- 17:40Speaker 3: remember traveling with Jesse and actually we went out the
- 17:43Speaker 3: night in Pittsburgh with.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Edge and his like old girlfriend at the time.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Okay, I do right, and Jesse and Festus and we
- 17:49Speaker 3: were riding with them and we like celebrate a little bit.
- 17:51Speaker 3: And then we were riding with Jesse and Festus and
- 17:53Speaker 3: we had like the day off and did the drive
- 17:55Speaker 3: and went all the way to Rochester.
- 17:56Speaker 1: And then every time I'm in this building, I think
- 17:58Speaker 1: of this because we work there so many.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Times after and then we get in and that's when
- 18:04Speaker 3: the whole Vince found out you're not really brothers. Yeah,
- 18:08Speaker 3: and he does not like that, and he wants you
- 18:10Speaker 3: guys to have new gimmick names. And then that like
- 18:12Speaker 3: to be thrown on that, like you know, you walk
- 18:15Speaker 3: in at two pm and the shows at seven pm.
- 18:17Speaker 3: That's like a major life decision that has to go
- 18:19Speaker 3: down within five hours.
- 18:22Speaker 6: Overwhelming looking back, thank god, but at the time it
- 18:26Speaker 6: was very, very stressful.
- 18:27Speaker 3: This is another story I told a million times, but
- 18:28Speaker 3: I'll tell it again. Johnny As is the one that
- 18:32Speaker 3: breaks this news to us as they get out of
- 18:33Speaker 3: the meeting. So even then, if you think about it,
- 18:35Speaker 3: they probably told us this at.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Like three pm, right, and they get out of that meeting.
- 18:38Speaker 3: He's like, oh, you know, you guys are edge now,
- 18:41Speaker 3: so you gotta have an edge like name, so you know,
- 18:43Speaker 3: like Slash or Spike.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Like something like like a one word name.
- 18:48Speaker 3: And we're like, whoa, Okay, So like We're sitting in
- 18:51Speaker 3: catering with Johnny with Michael As with Edge helped the
- 18:56Speaker 3: time or two. And at one point we were gonna
- 18:58Speaker 3: settle on. I was gonna be Ketis for Anthony Ketis
- 19:03Speaker 3: and you were gonna be Cobaine for Kurt Cobain but
- 19:05Speaker 3: with a K. Yeah, we Ketas and Cobain, which actually
- 19:09Speaker 3: kind of I don't hate that to this day. Yeah,
- 19:11Speaker 3: well it was most rather than thrash and slash or
- 19:13Speaker 3: whatever Johnny say. And then so I kind of messed
- 19:17Speaker 3: up a little bit. But then Michael Hayes got word,
- 19:19Speaker 3: who goes, that's.
- 19:20Speaker 1: That's not what Ben said.
- 19:22Speaker 3: And that was one of the first times we ever
- 19:24Speaker 3: had like a one on one Evince. He goes, come
- 19:25Speaker 3: with me, and we went into Vince's office like we
- 19:27Speaker 3: got to straightened the source, and he goes, no, I
- 19:29Speaker 3: just want two believable names that aren't the same, and
- 19:33Speaker 3: you're not brothers anymore.
- 19:34Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I remember he put us over for coming
- 19:36Speaker 6: up with the idea too, like he knew like if
- 19:38Speaker 6: this was.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Our idea, yeah, that's cool.
- 19:40Speaker 3: And then in a short amount of time I picked
- 19:43Speaker 3: Kurt for Kurt Hennick and Hawkins for you. Know, I
- 19:47Speaker 3: was thinking, I have to be a fake Edge, and
- 19:49Speaker 3: I always thought Edge looked like Taylor Hawkins from the
- 19:51Speaker 3: Food Fighters, and to this day they look very similar.
- 19:53Speaker 1: And that's how I came up with that. And mine was.
- 19:56Speaker 6: Zach from Zach Morris and the Originally it was gonna
- 19:58Speaker 6: be Zach McKay like, and then it became Rider and
- 20:04Speaker 6: then to this day I don't remember why it's Writer,
- 20:07Speaker 6: but I've said that recently in an interview and someone
- 20:10Speaker 6: said that I had said in the past, it's a
- 20:12Speaker 6: writer from writers.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Strong or strong. It makes me think that's true.
- 20:17Speaker 4: That could be it, because I mean definitely not like
- 20:18Speaker 4: I wasn't like, oh, the Rider truck, you know.
- 20:21Speaker 3: And then then that was so like pressing about this
- 20:24Speaker 3: is because every time we came up with these names,
- 20:26Speaker 3: they have to check it through legal and make sure
- 20:28Speaker 3: it's not something else and you can get their copyright.
- 20:31Speaker 1: So it's a hell of a process, all very rush.
- 20:33Speaker 4: And even then I knew I wanted it to be
- 20:35Speaker 4: z A. C. K and R. Y D Are like
- 20:38Speaker 4: as cool as I constantly.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Could make it.
- 20:40Speaker 4: And then I remember once we did it, well, first
- 20:42Speaker 4: of all, we had to get the tattoos put back on.
- 20:44Speaker 3: That's another nightmare situation. Then, so then there was like
- 20:48Speaker 3: another disconnect, like Okay, now are we like the major brothers?
- 20:52Speaker 3: And that was a one time thing. And then I
- 20:54Speaker 3: guess the general consensus in the meeting is that like, wow,
- 20:56Speaker 3: that look was pretty cool, that you all look the same,
- 20:58Speaker 3: So let's do that again. And we were just kind
- 21:00Speaker 3: of like, oh okay. So they rushed again to sharp
- 21:04Speaker 3: p S again whole the other night and do the promo,
- 21:07Speaker 3: which I've never watched the promo back because it's like
- 21:11Speaker 3: the worst. It's one of the worst. It's probably the
- 21:14Speaker 3: worst promo I ever cut in my life. It's opening SmackDown.
- 21:18Speaker 4: I definitely watched it back.
- 21:19Speaker 3: I've never watched it back because I remember being so
- 21:24Speaker 3: nerve wracked that say, Kurt Hawkins was so feign and
- 21:27Speaker 3: new that like I was just dreading that fucking that
- 21:30Speaker 3: up and like I couldn't even like think of the
- 21:32Speaker 3: other verbiage of the promo. I just wanted to make
- 21:34Speaker 3: sure I said I'm Kurt hawk like and not messed
- 21:36Speaker 3: that up.
- 21:37Speaker 1: It was like a real weird feeling.
- 21:40Speaker 4: I remember getting, you know, so was SmackDown Live, No.
- 21:45Speaker 1: There's no no. It was Tuesday Friday, right, So.
- 21:48Speaker 6: I remember once maybe once I told people are once
- 21:52Speaker 6: it aired, people were letting me know that zach Ryder is.
- 21:55Speaker 4: The name of a porn star, so of course, of course,
- 22:00Speaker 4: hopefully I'm a little more famous.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Well that was cool.
- 22:02Speaker 3: We opened the show with that promo and explaining that
- 22:05Speaker 3: we lied or whatever and we're not the Major brothers
- 22:07Speaker 3: and we're Zach Ryder. And then it's either three on
- 22:11Speaker 3: one or maybe we just jump them, but we like
- 22:14Speaker 3: beat the fuck out of him with a chair and
- 22:16Speaker 3: stuff like leave him laying like pretty wild shit, considering
- 22:19Speaker 3: like the week priory and catering that book that we
- 22:22Speaker 3: close the show being up the top ist top guy
- 22:25Speaker 3: leaving them laying.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Wow, it's like a big, big swing of events, all right.
- 22:30Speaker 5: Before I get to the questions, let's YadA, YadA, YadA
- 22:32Speaker 5: the entire run. So we're talking, give me the date,
- 22:36Speaker 5: and then how far does this last?
- 22:37Speaker 1: And it's that's armagain O seven and that's December. Okay.
- 22:42Speaker 3: I also remember coming home for like Christmas and being
- 22:45Speaker 3: like literally like swelling with pride, like it just like
- 22:49Speaker 3: like holy shit, did we ever do it?
- 22:51Speaker 1: Like Holy shit? We did it.
- 22:53Speaker 6: We also thought we were going to be rich because
- 22:55Speaker 6: I felt this there before. You know, when you're the
- 22:59Speaker 6: Major Brothers just eating catering, that's back then you get
- 23:01Speaker 6: five hundred bucks. Well, now that's.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Minus your hotels, minus your rental cars.
- 23:05Speaker 4: But it's like nothing, right, but you're getting that five
- 23:07Speaker 4: hundred dollars check.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:08Speaker 4: But so I'm like, oh my god, so what are
- 23:09Speaker 4: we gonna make being under the ring beating up Undertaker?
- 23:13Speaker 6: Yeah, and but he said, and the paper bee checks
- 23:15Speaker 6: to take a little while to come. But when it
- 23:16Speaker 6: came five hundred.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Bucks, uh, and the answer marks question. The run goes
- 23:22Speaker 3: all the way to August to SummerSlam because Edge of
- 23:28Speaker 3: Taker finally have to blow off like Hell and us
- 23:30Speaker 3: OL main event of Summer Slam.
- 23:33Speaker 1: An Edge s to like take time off after that,
- 23:36Speaker 1: so he gets like sent I think I think he's hurt.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Is he not hurt?
- 23:39Speaker 2: No?
- 23:39Speaker 3: I remember actually repecifically he said, I've never taken time
- 23:44Speaker 3: off where I wasn't like in a cast or something.
- 23:46Speaker 1: And he with the vice and said, like you know,
- 23:49Speaker 1: for the.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Past time months, he like he's the number one guy
- 23:51Speaker 3: in the whole company, like busting his now then following
- 23:55Speaker 3: like springing tears of Achilles.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Okay, right, and then he right yeah, and then he
- 24:00Speaker 1: comes back.
- 24:01Speaker 6: I mean then we get like dismantled, but that's gonna
- 24:04Speaker 6: be I think for the next month podcast.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I don't, Yeah, I don't.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I know there's that there's an episode where he you
- 24:14Speaker 3: think Undertaker's destroying Law Familiar, but it's really Edge right,
- 24:19Speaker 3: like he like there's backstages where he singlely takes out everybody.
- 24:23Speaker 3: Remember there's like a death scene and like there's a
- 24:26Speaker 3: rose laying on my chest or whatever. I think you're
- 24:28Speaker 3: supposed to think it's Undertaker, but then I remember it's
- 24:31Speaker 3: like Edge going in it was me, And I don't
- 24:33Speaker 3: remember how like laugh Familiar ends as like a faction.
- 24:35Speaker 6: I feel like they don't even show me getting laid out,
- 24:38Speaker 6: like gets like ma'am neely he gets me.
- 24:41Speaker 3: I also remember it was like an all day thing
- 24:42Speaker 3: in La or something in Atlanta produces like everyone. It
- 24:49Speaker 3: was like he was like feeling real Scorsese like and
- 24:51Speaker 3: ship and.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Like I do remember that, yeah, but I don't. I
- 24:54Speaker 1: don't really recall like ever, like how does like the
- 24:57Speaker 1: group just like I don't know, I'm not sure I
- 25:00Speaker 1: really don't remember.
- 25:02Speaker 5: All right, Uh, Brian called, how did you get the
- 25:05Speaker 5: sharpie off? Did you try any weird removal remedies?
- 25:08Speaker 1: No, it was just scrubbing with towels and hotel showers
- 25:13Speaker 1: and stuff.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Now I would have used like some like acid tone
- 25:16Speaker 4: or whatever.
- 25:17Speaker 1: You can't do that on your skin. You cannot do that.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I remember, like it was such a rip because
- 25:25Speaker 3: we literally spent that whole Monday off day, like we
- 25:28Speaker 3: went to.
- 25:29Speaker 1: The gym with Jesse and Fastus, I remember, and we
- 25:31Speaker 1: were just like trying to get these.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Off because like we did want to show up with
- 25:34Speaker 3: them and look like like maybe unprofessional, almost like you know, like, man,
- 25:38Speaker 3: who knows what we're gonna do.
- 25:40Speaker 1: We're gonna do something cool. Hopefully we're gonna have these
- 25:42Speaker 1: like faded tags. And luckily, I feel like so it
- 25:47Speaker 1: was supposed to.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Be like the decals whatever, We're gonna do it all
- 25:50Speaker 3: the time. And then finally like the next week, they
- 25:52Speaker 3: weren't there again and they were just like, no, I.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Just wear the tights. And that's how we added like
- 25:56Speaker 1: doing that.
- 25:56Speaker 4: Well, we were originally gonna have separate tights.
- 25:58Speaker 6: We got them made, and then the planner was just
- 26:01Speaker 6: the key because I at first it was like, no,
- 26:03Speaker 6: we don't want you guys being like the Foot Clan
- 26:05Speaker 6: or like the Putty guys from that was Power Rangers.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I mean, then we can rest our hat on that.
- 26:11Speaker 3: I think in this episode, like we were told like
- 26:15Speaker 3: you're with Edge where you're not as like Lackeys, and
- 26:17Speaker 3: you guys are you know, became we became unreal Lackeys,
- 26:21Speaker 3: which is fine, Like I said, we're twenty two, twenty three,
- 26:23Speaker 3: we're dipshit kids, like with an unbelievable learning experience, and
- 26:28Speaker 3: it's fine, but it didn't happen. And then it really,
- 26:31Speaker 3: in my opinion, when Legacy became like a competing kind
- 26:34Speaker 3: of like very similar thing and they ain't way higher
- 26:36Speaker 3: hopes for.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Cody and Tenny than they did this, I think we
- 26:39Speaker 1: didn't stand a chance to not be Lackey's.
- 26:41Speaker 5: Yeah, got it, Jake Hodge do what should the never
- 26:46Speaker 5: made La Familia merch shirt have been?
- 26:49Speaker 6: I couldn't believe it because like Edge was such a
- 26:51Speaker 6: fucking merchant machine Ge and.
- 26:53Speaker 3: I actually blame us for that because we're such merch
- 26:56Speaker 3: guys that how do we never like we never asked
- 26:58Speaker 3: them or pitched it or nothing. It's pretty stupid, like
- 27:00Speaker 3: we should have had like not like an nWo, but
- 27:03Speaker 3: like a pretty basic like you know what I mean,
- 27:05Speaker 3: like like in script I see it in my mind.
- 27:08Speaker 5: People love group shirts because then you wear it, you're like,
- 27:10Speaker 5: I'm in this.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Group exactly like bulla club and end up like we
- 27:13Speaker 3: should have had at least attempted it.
- 27:14Speaker 5: I think, yeah, yeah, Anthony Lanagan, how much time did
- 27:18Speaker 5: you guys spend with Edge outside the ring and any
- 27:22Speaker 5: good stories?
- 27:23Speaker 6: I would say not that much because we didn't ride together.
- 27:26Speaker 6: We hardly ever rode together.
- 27:27Speaker 3: We rode with him one time and he was so
- 27:29Speaker 3: fed up with us. I remember because there was something
- 27:32Speaker 3: it might have been when he dropped the belt the
- 27:35Speaker 3: punk we had to go to that raw and then
- 27:37Speaker 3: when we were the only ones going to SmackDown, so
- 27:39Speaker 3: we all rode together and he was like I remember
- 27:41Speaker 3: him being like pretty fed up with us. Really, well,
- 27:45Speaker 3: you gotta remember, like he's twelve years old this right, Yeah,
- 27:50Speaker 3: so but yeah, we certainly weren't riding together. But I
- 27:55Speaker 3: remember always like back then everyone would like everyone would
- 27:58Speaker 3: hang out because he's still.
- 28:00Speaker 1: You do smack down.
- 28:01Speaker 3: It's like four days on the road, and then you'd
- 28:02Speaker 3: always find something to do, like at night, it would
- 28:05Speaker 3: all kind of be together, and there was a lot
- 28:06Speaker 3: of camaraderie and hanging out and drinking.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Obviously, so like and I always remember a lot of that.
- 28:10Speaker 1: And then he Adam's good friends with Tommy.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Dreamer, who was like our mentor and got hired in
- 28:16Speaker 3: the first place and all that, so like we always
- 28:18Speaker 3: gotta be the same place.
- 28:19Speaker 5: Yeah, in my mind, right, max Heron, did you travel
- 28:24Speaker 5: much with Edge at the time, if so, any invaluable
- 28:28Speaker 5: advice from him in that time that comes to mind?
- 28:30Speaker 5: So you didn't travel with them much, But what about
- 28:32Speaker 5: the advice?
- 28:33Speaker 1: Oh, I mean, dude, we would.
- 28:35Speaker 4: I wouldn't say it would be like like verbal advice.
- 28:37Speaker 4: It's like what we watched, Like you're about.
- 28:39Speaker 3: The side, Yeah, like we sit there and watch them
- 28:41Speaker 3: call paper V matches with people or like you know,
- 28:43Speaker 3: we're literally sitting like as close as we're sitting in
- 28:45Speaker 3: the car watching how it's done, or like even just
- 28:48Speaker 3: you know, such respect for him, Like, dude, you're the
- 28:51Speaker 3: ww champion and you have to do a four day loop,
- 28:54Speaker 3: like you're having the high level main event live that
- 28:58Speaker 3: match three nights in a row and then doing god
- 29:00Speaker 3: whatever knows his ast of you at TV, which could
- 29:04Speaker 3: be like multiple pretapes and it's a crazy match, you
- 29:06Speaker 3: know what I mean, Like it's it's a big burden,
- 29:08Speaker 3: you know.
- 29:08Speaker 6: Besides sitting in on him calling his matches like you know,
- 29:11Speaker 6: WrestleMania main event stuff like that, but also on these
- 29:13Speaker 6: live events being outside the ring, having the ultimate.
- 29:18Speaker 1: You know, front row seat, yeah h yeah.
- 29:21Speaker 4: And so it was more that he was leading by
- 29:23Speaker 4: example than by his words, if that makes sense.
- 29:25Speaker 1: And then for a lot of this time period, we
- 29:28Speaker 1: would be like the first half main event, the match.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Before intermission, and it would always be US versus Fit
- 29:34Speaker 3: Finley and insert.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Whoever as his tech partner.
- 29:37Speaker 4: But maybe Noble's brother was there today, by the way.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Who I talked to him and told him that whole
- 29:41Speaker 3: story that we worked fitting Jamie, and I was like,
- 29:43Speaker 3: where is that?
- 29:44Speaker 1: It's around here?
- 29:45Speaker 3: It was like, I remembers Jamie's hometown. We've done it
- 29:48Speaker 3: a million times, US and US against Fitting Jamie. It
- 29:51Speaker 3: was Jamie's hometown and like it's just we've done it
- 29:53Speaker 3: so many times. It was like clockwork.
- 29:55Speaker 1: It was a good match, and he was like man,
- 29:57Speaker 1: my dad is in the ground in that bus. You
- 29:59Speaker 1: put me over the moon. Thank you bye, Like he
- 30:02Speaker 1: was so fired.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Up after so but like that was that was like
- 30:05Speaker 3: it felt like a year straight like in learning from
- 30:07Speaker 3: fit like Bell to Bell is like an unbelievable experience,
- 30:12Speaker 3: you know, change my career.
- 30:13Speaker 5: Yeah, Nathan Ramos, was there ever a time Edge might
- 30:17Speaker 5: have gotten upset disappointed mad et cetera. At you guys,
- 30:20Speaker 5: when something you were supposed to do wasn't it executed correctly,
- 30:23Speaker 5: such as a spot something to say in a promo,
- 30:26Speaker 5: et cetera.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Actually not don't remember the fucking up where he was like,
- 30:29Speaker 1: you guys really fucked that up?
- 30:30Speaker 5: That I can, okay, Jovin what was it like coming
- 30:35Speaker 5: out with Edge at MSG for the Royal Rumble? I
- 30:38Speaker 5: was there and that was the hot crowd.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Okay, So that's the month. That's a that's a month
- 30:42Speaker 1: into the deal.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Honestly, like a lot of.
- 30:45Speaker 6: This stuff, it's so long ago that I can't picture
- 30:48Speaker 6: myself in the moment. I can only like, if I
- 30:50Speaker 6: picture the moment, I picture like me watching on TV.
- 30:52Speaker 4: I can't. I don't picture me walking out.
- 30:54Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I hear what you're saying that, I remember
- 30:59Speaker 3: that being like just pretty surreal. Him and Ray have
- 31:01Speaker 3: like a banger, a really good one, and really cool
- 31:05Speaker 3: spot with Vicky.
- 31:06Speaker 1: I'll fit we get thrown out.
- 31:08Speaker 4: I'll complain right here. I was so bummed we were
- 31:10Speaker 4: in the rumble.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Yeah, but also I remember not really thinking that was
- 31:15Speaker 3: like a realistic expectation at the time. But this is
- 31:19Speaker 3: also like you're saying, we were being told that we're
- 31:22Speaker 3: going to be like a bigger deal than we were.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:24Speaker 3: And also if you watch that back, I right away
- 31:28Speaker 3: we're like we were smelling the lackey. You know, we're
- 31:31Speaker 3: swimming in the lacky waters and we're trying to get
- 31:33Speaker 3: out of it. It's like Broski would purposely wear a
- 31:35Speaker 3: beanie and I would purposely wear a ponytail like time
- 31:38Speaker 3: my hair back because we wanted people to be like
- 31:40Speaker 3: that Hawkins that's right, or not anonymous doppelganger.
- 31:43Speaker 6: Which eventually I get in trouble for wearing the beanie.
- 31:46Speaker 6: I've been wearing it for months and eventually I get
- 31:48Speaker 6: like a beanie that has like a logo on it.
- 31:51Speaker 4: But I get in trouble not from Vince, but it's
- 31:55Speaker 4: from Vince, I think fit and because I look too
- 31:59Speaker 4: much like Chris shit hm hmm, and that's why I.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Was kind of going for them.
- 32:06Speaker 5: Martin Hernandez. Were there any ribs pulled on either of
- 32:09Speaker 5: you in the locker room during this time? Was there
- 32:11Speaker 5: anyone backstage that was difficult or gave you a bad
- 32:14Speaker 5: attitude during this time since you guys were so young
- 32:16Speaker 5: and putting such a prominent position on TV.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Not to our face, I'm sure there was plenty of
- 32:21Speaker 3: ship talking at all, not to our face, okay, but
- 32:25Speaker 3: I'm sure you know, people were not thrilled about our
- 32:29Speaker 3: fucking trying to kill us folks.
- 32:32Speaker 5: It's gonna giant BA head.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Hold on. Yeah, not not to our face, but that's
- 32:44Speaker 1: pro wrestling, you know. You just people just should talk
- 32:47Speaker 1: behind your back, and it's.
- 32:49Speaker 6: Like, okay, like, yes we were with Edge, but it's
- 32:53Speaker 6: like we were like winning the tag belts, are taking
- 32:55Speaker 6: up people's spots because.
- 32:56Speaker 1: We were just Edges Lackey time. But you're getting TV
- 32:59Speaker 1: time right right right.
- 33:01Speaker 6: We weren't stealing it was I think people quickly res
- 33:03Speaker 6: we weren't stealing anyone spot probably, you know.
- 33:06Speaker 5: Yeah, Michael Puma was night one of being the Edgehead's
- 33:11Speaker 5: the most nervous you've ever been in a wrestling ring
- 33:13Speaker 5: hashtag ask major? Oh wait wrong for him?
- 33:16Speaker 1: Long? Yeah?
- 33:17Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I think I'm always nervous, Ah ways nervous.
- 33:24Speaker 1: If you care, you're nervous.
- 33:25Speaker 4: You know.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I like to lie to myself and say I'm very excited.
- 33:28Speaker 1: It's my trick.
- 33:29Speaker 3: But if you care, dude, I've done I've said this
- 33:31Speaker 3: plenty of times. I've done creative pro birthday parties in
- 33:34Speaker 3: front of sixteen little kids, and I'm nervous because I
- 33:37Speaker 3: just want to do my best. I want to have
- 33:38Speaker 3: a good match. It's just just if you care, That's
- 33:40Speaker 3: the way it should.
- 33:41Speaker 5: Be, Andy Geedeon, if you could take two up and
- 33:45Speaker 5: comers under your wing like Edge did for you, would
- 33:49Speaker 5: who would you? And who would you? And who would
- 33:54Speaker 5: it be?
- 33:55Speaker 6: If I was doing it in JCW, I'd get Harv
- 33:57Speaker 6: and Marv the singer brothers, and I'd be Bollywood Matt Cardoda.
- 34:03Speaker 6: So I'm kidding about the Bollywood bar, but I think
- 34:05Speaker 6: I would use them as Mike my edgeheads for heat.
- 34:08Speaker 1: That's great. I don't know, but that's a.
- 34:10Speaker 4: Flight from Canada.
- 34:11Speaker 1: That's not gonna happen. I mean I have like an edgehead.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Now, I kind of use Sam Beale in the way,
- 34:16Speaker 3: you know, like I see myself as edge and he's
- 34:18Speaker 3: an edgehead the way I use him and tell my
- 34:21Speaker 3: stories and impact and stuff. And that's I feel like
- 34:24Speaker 3: through that experience, I feel like I'm better at this
- 34:27Speaker 3: gimmick than you know, most people would be because I
- 34:30Speaker 3: lived it. That's cool, That's interesting.
- 34:31Speaker 5: Yeah, Dave Brown suggests, he says he likes that question
- 34:35Speaker 5: Hess just the Brosky Buddies or the Meyers Marauders. Adam mccannon,
- 34:40Speaker 5: what kind of interactions did you have with Vince McMahon
- 34:43Speaker 5: around the time of the Edgeheads if any?
- 34:46Speaker 1: For sure?
- 34:46Speaker 3: The one you just said about the names coming up
- 34:48Speaker 3: with Hawkins and Rider. Yeah, there's that the scream one.
- 34:52Speaker 3: I feel like we've told the story, but I'll tell
- 34:54Speaker 3: it again.
- 34:55Speaker 1: There was like.
- 34:58Speaker 3: I I think that it was like a rib fix
- 35:00Speaker 3: was in we It's not it's it's like Allantown or
- 35:04Speaker 3: Hershey or something they give us. Okay, so we drove
- 35:07Speaker 3: from my house or whatever. I picked like you up,
- 35:10Speaker 3: but I had we had like punk, maybe Jesse and
- 35:13Speaker 3: Festus and maybe Domino and we got like a little
- 35:16Speaker 3: bit of traffic, and I want to say we were.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Like fifteen minutes after call time.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Okay, Scott Arms, Oh you're all with Edge and you
- 35:23Speaker 3: think you just show up whenever you want, And he
- 35:24Speaker 3: was like kidding but serious, and they're like, okay, we
- 35:28Speaker 3: just got second traffic, bro, And we drove two and
- 35:30Speaker 3: a half hours.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 35:31Speaker 3: And then we're working Channonmore and Jimmy Yang. It's supposed
- 35:36Speaker 3: to be like a kind of a squash match for us,
- 35:39Speaker 3: like a get overmatch, our first like one. This is
- 35:41Speaker 3: very very early in the Edge run.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Well it's and it has to be after mania because
- 35:45Speaker 4: we're not wearing edge tights right.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Or we are. We are wearing Edge sights.
- 35:49Speaker 3: There's a picture of me and Jimmy Yang from it
- 35:51Speaker 3: that was in like a program or something. Okay, Okay,
- 35:53Speaker 3: So then there's so much to the story that like
- 35:56Speaker 3: doesn't sit right with me to this day. Then Mikerotn
- 36:02Speaker 3: is the producer, and I've been a producer now and
- 36:04Speaker 3: I know, like you just have to do your job
- 36:07Speaker 3: and like you know, whether talent don't want here it
- 36:09Speaker 3: or not, you have to be like this is this
- 36:11Speaker 3: matches for Matt and Bryan, it's not for you, like
- 36:13Speaker 3: you gotta like you know, it's he never did that,
- 36:16Speaker 3: he never like said it, and he was like awkward
- 36:18Speaker 3: to tell them, like, hey, you're doing like this is
- 36:20Speaker 3: gonna be like kind of one sided or whatever. And
- 36:22Speaker 3: then so like but he told us, so that doesn't work,
- 36:26Speaker 3: you know, and then we're too young green to like
- 36:28Speaker 3: tell them like, hey, this is like a they get
- 36:32Speaker 3: overmatch for us, you know. So it's a really bad situation.
- 36:35Speaker 3: It was like awkward to call and awkward to put together.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Then so, like you said, this is tape SmackDown, so
- 36:42Speaker 3: like pretty much anything can happen and you can just
- 36:44Speaker 3: do it again. And they just took advantage of that,
- 36:46Speaker 3: and they they the fix was in. I think they're like,
- 36:49Speaker 3: there's so many bad things piled up now, right, And
- 36:51Speaker 3: I do think someone stooge that we were late and
- 36:55Speaker 3: they were fucking with us.
- 36:56Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 36:57Speaker 1: I've always thought this.
- 36:58Speaker 5: And then.
- 37:01Speaker 6: We so the week's prior, like, for instance, we're on
- 37:03Speaker 6: the we're the first match on the first w w
- 37:06Speaker 6: HD snack that we wrestled Raymisterial, and and for the
- 37:09Speaker 6: next couple of weeks we have like random generic music.
- 37:12Speaker 3: Yes, like it's like almost three UKs in a row
- 37:14Speaker 3: of three weird songs. We never know it, right, So
- 37:17Speaker 3: like our music.
- 37:18Speaker 6: Hits, it's the now it's the disciple music, but we
- 37:21Speaker 6: don't know it's our music.
- 37:22Speaker 1: No one told us is like go, and then we go,
- 37:25Speaker 1: and then we're like what does our music?
- 37:27Speaker 4: We go?
- 37:27Speaker 3: They're like okay, and we were a little confused. But
- 37:29Speaker 3: then I thought like in my mind, and we'll never
- 37:31Speaker 3: know because it never aired. But like we just have
- 37:33Speaker 3: like a normal like arrogant heel walk down to the ring.
- 37:38Speaker 3: So we're first Jimmy and Shannon is still in Gorilla.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Then we get in the ring and the refs like
- 37:42Speaker 3: they want you back in gorilla. They want you to
- 37:44Speaker 3: do that again. We're like our entrance what like yeah,
- 37:48Speaker 3: so and they're like, in my mind, I mean, this
- 37:50Speaker 3: is like a very traumatizing experience, but this is the
- 37:52Speaker 3: way in my mind I remember happening.
- 37:54Speaker 1: We come back, we opened the curtain and literally evinces
- 37:57Speaker 1: like nose to nose of this right there, like in
- 37:59Speaker 1: our face warm. You guys are supposed to be fucking
- 38:00Speaker 1: big stars. Now what the fuck was that? You're just
- 38:03Speaker 1: sauntering down the ring.
- 38:04Speaker 3: They're sauntering like what I was like, it was a
- 38:06Speaker 3: wild promat, Like I literally blacked out, like it was
- 38:08Speaker 3: so shocking, Oh my god.
- 38:10Speaker 1: He's like do that again, and Briscol's like, yeah, do
- 38:12Speaker 1: it again.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Go and the music's already playing. We hadn't like hit,
- 38:16Speaker 3: so Briscol should have said us, but we're so nervous
- 38:18Speaker 3: and freaking out. We now we go and now we're
- 38:20Speaker 3: like makes like no sense. We're like screaming and like
- 38:22Speaker 3: fired up, going.
- 38:23Speaker 4: To halfway down and then they gonna go back.
- 38:27Speaker 1: We're like, holy shit. And now we're back in Gorilla
- 38:30Speaker 1: for the third time, and that now it's just like awkward.
- 38:32Speaker 1: There's people in the crowd.
- 38:34Speaker 5: What are they saying?
- 38:35Speaker 4: It is?
- 38:36Speaker 1: What it is? Now we're back in Gorilla, and that
- 38:38Speaker 1: was like pin drop quiet awkward.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Because now we had to wait for the queue.
- 38:42Speaker 3: HiT's from the top. We go out and do our
- 38:44Speaker 3: entrance work. Just rattled to the bone. I remember just
- 38:49Speaker 3: saying to you, like, don't don't sell it.
- 38:50Speaker 1: It's a test. It's the test. To test the test.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Even though I'm rattled as fuck too, so I'm like
- 38:54Speaker 1: trying to talk myself down and.
- 38:56Speaker 4: I'll never get I go to the top. There's like
- 38:59Speaker 4: a spot.
- 39:00Speaker 6: We're like, I'm so lost in the match, and Jimmy
- 39:03Speaker 6: tells me to go to the top for like the
- 39:05Speaker 6: next spot, which whatever it is, I forget.
- 39:07Speaker 4: So I'm up on the top rope. I'm thinking, like,
- 39:09Speaker 4: now what am I.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Supposed to do?
- 39:10Speaker 4: I just like jump at him, but it's like it's
- 39:12Speaker 4: like this ugliest cross body. I think, Oh, I think the.
- 39:16Speaker 3: First thing is I tie up with Jimmy and I'm
- 39:18Speaker 3: supposed to get my arm drag out of a tie up,
- 39:19Speaker 3: and it's like all miss timed and shitty and like
- 39:22Speaker 3: it's just a bad match. The ships. It's just a
- 39:26Speaker 3: terrible experience. And I don't even know why we started
- 39:28Speaker 3: telling this story. He said interactions, So that was yeah,
- 39:31Speaker 3: but that's yeah, that's scream at the curtain to this day.
- 39:35Speaker 1: That like, and then we came back and he didn't
- 39:36Speaker 1: mention it or like it just felt like a test.
- 39:39Speaker 4: I guess aid other this one was definitely a rip.
- 39:41Speaker 4: It had to be. Was the wrestle Mania with that
- 39:43Speaker 4: long ass.
- 39:44Speaker 3: I don't know if we told they're making us just
- 39:46Speaker 3: un I remember this, So this is like old school
- 39:51Speaker 3: full biz cash. Obviously, Mania year like even nicer, more nice,
- 39:55Speaker 3: nicely dressed. We get there our first Mania and uh Orlando,
- 40:01Speaker 3: and they're like ed Chaz or Major Wells, we need
- 40:03Speaker 3: to your rings right now. No, no, no, Like we
- 40:05Speaker 3: drop our bags and we go out there and they're like,
- 40:08Speaker 3: Vince doesn't think you can pull off this run, and
- 40:10Speaker 3: so he wants to see you do it. We're like, oh, okay,
- 40:12Speaker 3: no problem, just dumb as fuck, just agreeing to this.
- 40:15Speaker 3: They they tell us we're in Gorilla, like go, go go,
- 40:18Speaker 3: and we just do this full sprint, this one hundred
- 40:20Speaker 3: yard sprint down in the ring and like okay, good, okay, yeah,
- 40:25Speaker 3: they said, the cameras were sitting dude, you gotta do
- 40:26Speaker 3: it again.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Back to Gorilla. We do it again. It was full sprinting,
- 40:30Speaker 1: our biz cash, running as hard as we getting down
- 40:31Speaker 1: the ring.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Okay, then whatever, it was back but one more time
- 40:35Speaker 3: we go back and by the like fourth or fifth time,
- 40:36Speaker 3: we realize it no one's even like watching us anymore.
- 40:38Speaker 5: And it was just a rip my god. Yeah, but
- 40:41Speaker 5: like and then you just stopped and walked away.
- 40:43Speaker 1: We're fucking twenty thirty, Like we're just idiots.
- 40:45Speaker 4: Yeah, John WrestleMania, Yeah, hell.
- 40:49Speaker 5: Yeah, John Swallow. Did you guys get any backlash from
- 40:53Speaker 5: the locker room for the push?
- 40:54Speaker 1: You know, never? I know, like you said, it wasn't.
- 40:57Speaker 1: It was like a great spot, but it wasn't like
- 41:00Speaker 1: we were like.
- 41:01Speaker 5: You know, Matt sline, did you have to get your
- 41:05Speaker 5: own edge gear made? Or did w W slash Edge
- 41:07Speaker 5: help out with that?
- 41:09Speaker 4: You have to get your own gear the first time.
- 41:11Speaker 4: Edge actually bought.
- 41:12Speaker 1: It for us, that is true.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Yeah, and like they actually fit kind of bad, yeah,
- 41:19Speaker 3: I mean a little loose.
- 41:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:20Speaker 6: And then like I said, we were supposed to get
- 41:22Speaker 6: another gear. We did, we didn't end up wearing it.
- 41:25Speaker 6: I think you eventually wear the trunks, right, or you
- 41:28Speaker 6: got like.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Like drastically different gear.
- 41:32Speaker 4: To Bene is like a brood, like the logo.
- 41:36Speaker 1: He said, hold off on that and keep wearing the
- 41:38Speaker 1: Edge heights until we.
- 41:39Speaker 6: Say yeah, And then eventually we just started getting different
- 41:43Speaker 6: Edge gear.
- 41:44Speaker 1: I don't even think we asked.
- 41:45Speaker 3: I think we finally after Madie we wear the red
- 41:48Speaker 3: red median. I think after that we were like, let's
- 41:50Speaker 3: just do this ship and no one said anything.
- 41:54Speaker 5: Uh Marcus percall, was there anything in specific that you
- 41:57Speaker 5: learned from Edge or Travo in your time with them.
- 42:02Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know.
- 42:03Speaker 4: I couldn't give you much.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but like I said, we watched him do do
- 42:08Speaker 1: what he does to be like.
- 42:10Speaker 3: In my opinion, I've said this in so many interviews
- 42:12Speaker 3: two thousand and eight, Adam Coplan is the best wrestling
- 42:15Speaker 3: the whole world. I mean, I'll argue anyone to death
- 42:17Speaker 3: about that. You know, five tool player type situation. Right,
- 42:22Speaker 3: He's the best wrestling the world. He's having the best matches,
- 42:24Speaker 3: have the best promos, like complete package, the look, it's
- 42:27Speaker 3: cool as fuck, you know, slimy, great like heel stuff.
- 42:32Speaker 3: You know, just just the Vicky storyline, you know, the
- 42:34Speaker 3: heat he had, like with live crowds from like that.
- 42:37Speaker 3: You think that he's dating Eddie Gure's widow, Like, think
- 42:39Speaker 3: about that. That's pretty awesome.
- 42:40Speaker 1: The heat Vicky.
- 42:43Speaker 6: You know, whether we're on stage or in the ring
- 42:45Speaker 6: and she's talking with a microphone and the booze and
- 42:49Speaker 6: the heat is so bad, I can't even hear what
- 42:51Speaker 6: she's saying.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 42:55Speaker 5: Brian del Poso was that was there a specific reason
- 42:58Speaker 5: either from you guys, Edge, the office, whoever, that you
- 43:02Speaker 5: guys didn't transition to the Camo gear when Edge did
- 43:06Speaker 5: and instead stuck with the solid color rated are attires.
- 43:09Speaker 3: I think because we had, like I said, we just
- 43:11Speaker 3: like changed. We got out of a wearing like we
- 43:15Speaker 3: we didn't want to keep wearing that stuff because we
- 43:17Speaker 3: thought there was a dead end thing of just being
- 43:18Speaker 3: a like appel gangers and our only chance of like
- 43:22Speaker 3: a fan or especially people we work with being like
- 43:25Speaker 3: that Zach Ryder and that's k Hawkin, that was our
- 43:27Speaker 3: only chances if we deciphered ourselves like that, you know, right, That's.
- 43:31Speaker 5: All Daniel Fermano. Besides Edge obviously, who would you say
- 43:37Speaker 5: was the most influential to your careers at this time?
- 43:41Speaker 5: Someone who was an advocate during.
- 43:42Speaker 1: This time Fit Fit Finley.
- 43:47Speaker 4: It's just the learning experience and like uh because it.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Was the hands on, like yeah, you know you're it
- 43:53Speaker 1: was cool.
- 43:55Speaker 5: Steve Hooker, here's a good one. How long before Edge
- 43:58Speaker 5: knew about your figure collections and what did he think
- 44:00Speaker 5: of it?
- 44:01Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 44:02Speaker 3: I mean, he do our fanboy yet nests and then
- 44:05Speaker 3: Edge is like an l Jan kid, so like he
- 44:07Speaker 3: didn't I think it was nuts.
- 44:09Speaker 1: I don't think he understood the degree of how the
- 44:12Speaker 1: current situation.
- 44:13Speaker 4: You know, I don't know if we even I think
- 44:14Speaker 4: we're still hiding it a bit.
- 44:16Speaker 1: But we definitely have spoken al jhands of them.
- 44:18Speaker 4: Oh for sure, especially now.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Yeah, no it doesn't matter.
- 44:21Speaker 5: But yeah, Pat Jennings, which guys did you call by
- 44:26Speaker 5: their character names when talking to the versus government name?
- 44:31Speaker 3: I mean I never Oh, yeah, it's just it's wrestling
- 44:36Speaker 3: is like so weird like that. It's it's like, uh,
- 44:38Speaker 3: it's kind of just how you met him. Yeah, it's yeah,
- 44:41Speaker 3: it's just because it's too like you never know, what
- 44:45Speaker 3: do you mean? What are you You're gonna call Big
- 44:47Speaker 3: Daddy V like you know, shooting me?
- 44:49Speaker 1: I don't know, you know what? U? This is what
- 44:52Speaker 1: it like?
- 44:54Speaker 5: What did Rigoberto Herrera when Edge came back last year?
- 45:00Speaker 5: Did you guys pitch an idea about having a run.
- 45:02Speaker 3: That was that was weird and still doesn't sit right
- 45:06Speaker 3: with me? To me, I mean, I think Paul Haymon
- 45:10Speaker 3: just didn't want us involved in it. There's no confirmation
- 45:13Speaker 3: of that whatsoever. It's just my gut feeling.
- 45:16Speaker 6: Somebody and I assume it's him said that nobody remembered
- 45:20Speaker 6: the edge heads, but.
- 45:22Speaker 4: Just fucking okay, that's Drew play a fucking vignette.
- 45:24Speaker 3: I mean play of one was a sixty second I
- 45:27Speaker 3: mean it was, but it was like a weird situation
- 45:32Speaker 3: where I know Adam asked like, why isn't Randy like
- 45:36Speaker 3: fucking us up to get some like sympathy, you know
- 45:38Speaker 3: what I mean, like for Edge to.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Get you know, get some heat.
- 45:41Speaker 3: And then we pitched it a million times weren't especially
- 45:43Speaker 3: then we really weren't doing anything like this really makes sense.
- 45:47Speaker 3: But then there's like things that contradicted him make no sense,
- 45:49Speaker 3: Like he gets Randy lays him out and leaves him
- 45:54Speaker 3: like dead, and.
- 45:55Speaker 1: We had done like main event and left him. We're
- 45:57Speaker 1: like going to record the podcast.
- 45:58Speaker 4: I literally have an in and out in my mouth
- 46:01Speaker 4: and they help calls to come back, and.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Then a writer calls yeah. He goes, oh, you've been requested.
- 46:06Speaker 1: You have to be in this Edge death scene like
- 46:09Speaker 1: by name.
- 46:10Speaker 3: They want you guys like to be the first ones
- 46:12Speaker 3: at his side on the stretcher, and we're like we
- 46:14Speaker 3: were like so like it's real mixed signals.
- 46:17Speaker 1: You know, like no one remembers the edgechise, but we're
- 46:20Speaker 1: the first.
- 46:21Speaker 3: Ones to console him and his death scene, Like it
- 46:23Speaker 3: just was very strange, frustrating, I'll be honest, because like
- 46:26Speaker 3: we didn't we didn't want to full blow and me
- 46:28Speaker 3: the edgjets again.
- 46:28Speaker 1: But like let's acknowledge it and like give us like
- 46:31Speaker 1: a mini.
- 46:31Speaker 4: Rub blowing Edges again.
- 46:33Speaker 3: I mean, of course, but like I wasn't saying that either.
- 46:36Speaker 3: IU wasn't say I wouldn't have done it, but like
- 46:37Speaker 3: I don't know, I I despise.
- 46:40Speaker 5: It would have been a good thing for you guys.
- 46:41Speaker 1: I despise how much WW tries to ignore history. It's
- 46:44Speaker 1: very weird.
- 46:46Speaker 3: And on the flip side, I feel like AW goes
- 46:48Speaker 3: like too deep into history. We're like, you know, like
- 46:51Speaker 3: the world's supposed to know, like the Darbion and Ethan
- 46:52Speaker 3: page at I fed and evolve, you know, like that
- 46:54Speaker 3: might be like wait, where do you meet in the middle?
- 46:57Speaker 4: You know?
- 46:57Speaker 5: I love the the uh hoove and Dang recently that
- 47:01Speaker 5: that they made a tube and du joke and a
- 47:03Speaker 5: promo like nine months ago.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Brod would never do that, never do that show that clip.
- 47:09Speaker 1: But like it's not that hard. I don't understand. Yeah,
- 47:12Speaker 1: it's great, great story and rest of fans. Aren't that stupid?
- 47:15Speaker 1: They just forgot people, remember That's what I'm saying.
- 47:17Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, and actually I remember around that same time,
- 47:21Speaker 3: and I could be off with the timing, but like
- 47:23Speaker 3: m v P was having matches and they played like
- 47:25Speaker 3: an MVP package.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Remind you the fuck MVP with them? Like, oh, but
- 47:27Speaker 1: the edjets don't exist, like, fuck.
- 47:29Speaker 5: Off, Brian Palmer. Obviously you want every angle you do
- 47:34Speaker 5: to be successful, but was there ever a concern that
- 47:37Speaker 5: if the edge head gimmick was too successful and went
- 47:39Speaker 5: on for a very long time, that you would always
- 47:42Speaker 5: be associated with it and would be unable to break
- 47:45Speaker 5: out as separate individual performance.
- 47:47Speaker 4: Literally, in my mind, I thought we could do no wrong.
- 47:50Speaker 6: I thought, okay, first Wrestling Mainia, we do the fucking
- 47:54Speaker 6: in the main event run in next to us.
- 47:57Speaker 1: The blowoff.
- 48:00Speaker 4: Did not happen.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you're just so young and naive and thrilled.
- 48:04Speaker 4: Oh there's so many things I wish I could like
- 48:06Speaker 4: do over with that time there.
- 48:07Speaker 6: Bit, what's the point of even talking about her or
- 48:09Speaker 6: fucking beating myself up over about it because you can't
- 48:12Speaker 6: change the past.
- 48:12Speaker 5: Yeah, Yeah, Dave Brown, bam Neely Stories. Guys, seemed to
- 48:17Speaker 5: disappear quickly after Let Familiar disbanded and was curious about him.
- 48:21Speaker 1: I don't really have an answer for that.
- 48:24Speaker 4: We like them.
- 48:26Speaker 3: We met him, he had his tryout in Deep South,
- 48:28Speaker 3: so we knew him prior. Then we were in ovw
- 48:30Speaker 3: do a bunch and he actually wasn't attacking. We wrestled
- 48:32Speaker 3: him like most of the time we were there because
- 48:34Speaker 3: it was Ox and Hammer when he was an Ox,
- 48:37Speaker 3: and then that was just so random as hell. He
- 48:41Speaker 3: just was just there one day and they're like, he's
- 48:43Speaker 3: Chavo's bodyguard and by default he's like with you guys.
- 48:46Speaker 1: In Left Familiar, it was just like thin air, I remember,
- 48:49Speaker 1: huh And then it just died so quick.
- 48:56Speaker 5: Jason Dunseil, did Edge ever get to experience a toy
- 48:59Speaker 5: hunt with you guys? What do you know about his collection?
- 49:01Speaker 1: Slash?
- 49:02Speaker 5: If he collects?
- 49:03Speaker 1: He does Edge?
- 49:04Speaker 3: Actually, I'm pretty sure Edges every piece of his gear ever,
- 49:07Speaker 3: Oh ever sold it, never sold a thing. And he
- 49:10Speaker 3: said his plan was one day sell it all and
- 49:12Speaker 3: like put it into like a you know, a fun
- 49:14Speaker 3: for his daughters or something. But so in two thousand
- 49:19Speaker 3: and nine, I got Demotive deafs we've covered all this.
- 49:23Speaker 3: I get Demoti deaf CW and he tears his achilles
- 49:27Speaker 3: and he lives in Tampa, so like where I would
- 49:30Speaker 3: see him maybe once a month, if that once every
- 49:33Speaker 3: two months.
- 49:34Speaker 1: Now he's just like home chilling, and he would invite
- 49:37Speaker 1: me in Trent over.
- 49:38Speaker 3: I lived with Trent and Craft would come in like
- 49:41Speaker 3: or maybe Tyson Kid or whatever, and we would just
- 49:43Speaker 3: like go to his place and watch wrestling all the time.
- 49:44Speaker 1: So I like was in his old house all the time.
- 49:46Speaker 3: And then he showed me he has like he's he
- 49:50Speaker 3: like kind of has very similar mentality to me, Like
- 49:51Speaker 3: he doesn't if you won't.
- 49:53Speaker 1: He went into his house, in every room you wouldn't
- 49:55Speaker 1: know he was edge, you know. And then he had
- 49:57Speaker 1: one room that.
- 49:58Speaker 3: Had like all his restic stuff and he he definitely
- 50:01Speaker 3: made like a conscious effort to have like one of
- 50:04Speaker 3: every toy and you know, his gear like saved and
- 50:07Speaker 3: hanging up and like nicely.
- 50:08Speaker 1: In tots and stuff like that. And that's that's cool.
- 50:11Speaker 1: I remember all that.
- 50:13Speaker 5: Mark, what is the best piece of advice the Undertaker
- 50:16Speaker 5: gave you?
- 50:18Speaker 6: I couldn't, you know, pinpoint one seeds of advice, But
- 50:20Speaker 6: I do remember I wrestled him on SmackDown like one
- 50:25Speaker 6: on one, and I was scared to death.
- 50:28Speaker 4: But he was like not that he was letting me
- 50:30Speaker 4: call the match, but he like asked me for our
- 50:32Speaker 4: ideas like what I wanted to do.
- 50:33Speaker 1: It was actually pretty chill.
- 50:36Speaker 6: And then afterwards I remember we you know, he sat
- 50:39Speaker 6: down with us and we talked about the match, blah
- 50:41Speaker 6: blah blah. But at the same time, we had to
- 50:44Speaker 6: catch his red eye and we I don't know if
- 50:45Speaker 6: we both got it or I feel like we did.
- 50:48Speaker 4: Like the choke could where you're like spin up the blood.
- 50:50Speaker 6: Yeah, and then we had to go through this red
- 50:51Speaker 6: eye security at an airport mark you would have hated
- 50:54Speaker 6: this eight hour gear covered in blood, like of course
- 50:57Speaker 6: we're trying to wipe it off our faces and before it,
- 50:59Speaker 6: but it's in our hair or if.
- 51:00Speaker 3: It would take at that time, if you took Hell's Gate,
- 51:02Speaker 3: you had to like bleed from the mouth. I don't
- 51:04Speaker 3: know how that started, so the ref would slip you
- 51:06Speaker 3: like a little blood capsule before the spot and then
- 51:10Speaker 3: you'd have to like and it was really hard because
- 51:11Speaker 3: if you were like blowing up in my cot mouth
- 51:13Speaker 3: to like get it, it would be.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Like like trying to get it to go. That is
- 51:17Speaker 1: so weird.
- 51:18Speaker 3: It's pretty fun, but take Honestly, looking back around, Taker
- 51:20Speaker 3: was very as long as you like put over.
- 51:22Speaker 1: His gimmick, you know, you the fear of the character,
- 51:25Speaker 1: you know, like that kind of stuff. He was very given.
- 51:28Speaker 1: Like we just spot all the time. I don't know
- 51:29Speaker 1: if you would do with him where he would go
- 51:31Speaker 1: up to do the.
- 51:32Speaker 3: Type ropewalk and I'd pull him off and take this
- 51:35Speaker 3: giant like like flip bump.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it was kind of nuts actually, like why you
- 51:39Speaker 1: would even do that for.
- 51:40Speaker 4: It's like some of the things that were going on
- 51:41Speaker 4: during that type period.
- 51:43Speaker 6: Yes, we were so young and and dumb and naive,
- 51:45Speaker 6: but it's like it just felt so okay, well this
- 51:48Speaker 6: is the natural progression.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Eighty one north US four sixty east sail up. Rowing
- 51:54Speaker 1: out's really rude, but it just felt like so like.
- 51:58Speaker 3: Normal to like you right sling the Undertaker at one
- 52:01Speaker 3: point when you're riding a high like that and you're
- 52:04Speaker 3: that young, you don't think it's gonna end.
- 52:05Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, and you can't be like super nervous.
- 52:08Speaker 5: They're also like you just shoots your confidence.
- 52:12Speaker 4: Now, not only that but like you won't survive, you
- 52:15Speaker 4: won't make it. Yeah, it's think or swim? Really, Uh, is.
- 52:20Speaker 5: There any theme, Eddie Bowman? Is there any theme that
- 52:23Speaker 5: makes you more hard than when Edges mits to this day?
- 52:28Speaker 1: But yes, yeah, I mean there's a couple obviously that
- 52:30Speaker 1: I love. But that song still holds true to me. Man.
- 52:34Speaker 3: I actually text Adam like, uh, maybe last year and
- 52:39Speaker 3: I had this weird epiphany, like that song's been his
- 52:41Speaker 3: song for like fifteen years plus, and it's like, if
- 52:44Speaker 3: you really listen to the words of it, it's a
- 52:46Speaker 3: very like inspirational, like babyface song that only makes sense now.
- 52:52Speaker 1: In like his like return.
- 52:54Speaker 3: Huh, it's really weird that you sit and listen to lyrics.
- 52:56Speaker 3: I have like weird epiphany about him. We were texting
- 52:58Speaker 3: about it and he goes, I know, right, really cool talk,
- 53:00Speaker 3: but like really weird because he's like the the slimiest
- 53:04Speaker 3: heel in the business, and it's like, if you listen
- 53:06Speaker 3: to the words, it's very like it's it's strange.
- 53:11Speaker 5: Budster Edge puts over Brian Hue in his DVD, saying
- 53:15Speaker 5: Brian emailed him the whole Edgehead idea and really impressed him.
- 53:19Speaker 5: Was there ever any recognition from Vince or whoever was
- 53:22Speaker 5: booking SmackDown at the time that it was Brian's idea,
- 53:25Speaker 5: But it wasn't. It was both of your idea.
- 53:27Speaker 3: It was definitely both our idea. And then you're right
- 53:29Speaker 3: when we had that weird Hawkins the rider talk, Vincy, Yeah,
- 53:35Speaker 3: like it was something like if you have ideas like that,
- 53:38Speaker 3: you gotta share him. So I'm glad you did or
- 53:40Speaker 3: something that was kind of cool. Yeah, right now you said,
- 53:42Speaker 3: I do remember that.
- 53:44Speaker 5: Okay, last question, Corbyn Joslyn asks the when did you
- 53:48Speaker 5: tell Edge the about your figures? So we're not going
- 53:51Speaker 5: to use that. Enrique day Reva with this many years
- 53:56Speaker 5: on the roster where their new talent you guys start,
- 54:00Speaker 5: did this sort of show the ropes to or were
- 54:03Speaker 5: you guys still considered new yourselves still in that run.
- 54:06Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, we're twenty two, twenty three, just just in
- 54:10Speaker 3: an unbelievably blessed position. Yeah, it was not, like Roski said,
- 54:16Speaker 3: it ended up not being very financially lucrative like you
- 54:20Speaker 3: would have thought. But what we gained, like as far
- 54:24Speaker 3: as like knowledge in the business is who can say
- 54:28Speaker 3: they did Like we've it's insane to say that we've
- 54:30Speaker 3: wrestled Undertaking more times than I can remember, Like this
- 54:32Speaker 3: under matches with Undertaker that I've completely forgotten.
- 54:35Speaker 6: Wrestlaw Michaels, Rick Batista saw Raymonstereo Big Show.
- 54:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I mean it was nuts, yea, and all
- 54:44Speaker 3: that like success that Edge was having like trickled you know,
- 54:48Speaker 3: down to us, and we like we really reaped the benefits,
- 54:50Speaker 3: especially being that young and green and just learned, like
- 54:54Speaker 3: straight up just unbelievably, Like who's had a learning experience.
- 54:57Speaker 6: Like that in the business, right, you know, one thing
- 54:59Speaker 6: that just tied to my head that I kind of regret.
- 55:02Speaker 6: It's like, okay, as tag team champions, we win them.
- 55:06Speaker 6: Were technically still at us to take one one north
- 55:11Speaker 6: us for Jesus Christ. We didn't take still photo with
- 55:16Speaker 6: it that night or like any time until like after
- 55:20Speaker 6: summer Slim We're like, now we're in the vest in
- 55:22Speaker 6: the weird sunglasses.
- 55:23Speaker 4: There's no still photo of us with the titles and Edge.
- 55:26Speaker 4: It was definitely the champ at that at one time,
- 55:28Speaker 4: Like why didn't we all have the titles together?
- 55:30Speaker 1: I don't think he's the champ, isn't in the Champ.
- 55:34Speaker 1: I don't know that at Bash he worked. I think
- 55:37Speaker 1: he works Hunter. I could he loses the Punk. We're
- 55:42Speaker 1: not champs when he loses a Punk definitely, So that.
- 55:46Speaker 4: Match with Undertaker is just like a match.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, right, I don't know because it's punk and
- 55:53Speaker 1: like it's punk, it's punk. Punk's the champion, like Seene
- 55:57Speaker 1: as the other because Sena Batista is the other match. Right,
- 56:00Speaker 1: broad you're the wrong person.
- 56:02Speaker 4: I have no idea. Right eighty one North.
- 56:05Speaker 1: US or sixty, He's fairly positive he's not the champion.
- 56:09Speaker 1: But Great America Bash.
- 56:10Speaker 6: Since this is the major wrestling for your podcast. One
- 56:12Speaker 6: thing is like, of course we have the Treasurer's Trios
- 56:15Speaker 6: with edges really really cool.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Which the Edite. I'll forever love that packet.
- 56:20Speaker 6: And there is a I had the protot at the
- 56:23Speaker 6: Hampit of Prototype. I know, Brian, you of yours, but
- 56:25Speaker 6: I was supposed to come with the Beanie the Soft Kids.
- 56:27Speaker 4: Beanie and I have that, and then you know.
- 56:30Speaker 6: Obviously years later the Rings Exclusive Edgeheads, which is like
- 56:33Speaker 6: the Mgeina mashups, but I'm fine with it being the
- 56:35Speaker 6: mashup at the Beanie.
- 56:36Speaker 1: Probably have a legends figger. You can't. I can't really
- 56:40Speaker 1: put him, you know, nothing bad to be said.
- 56:42Speaker 4: No, No, there's a couple things I would have changed.
- 56:45Speaker 3: But I mean I always say, in the same year
- 56:48Speaker 3: a guy I trained, MJF got a figure and I
- 56:51Speaker 3: got a Legends figure.
- 56:52Speaker 1: Like I'm happy man, Like, that's pretty pretty wild.
- 56:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, listen, I'm sure we can do a park.
- 56:57Speaker 5: Yeah, putting the button on it, put a button on
- 56:59Speaker 5: this said you had think.
- 57:00Speaker 3: So it's just like it was just such a yeah,
- 57:04Speaker 3: it's like we said to start like we wouldn't there'd.
- 57:08Speaker 1: Be no right or revolution, there'd be who knows what
- 57:10Speaker 1: would happened to me, Like, there'd be nothing. Like if
- 57:12Speaker 1: we didn't have this experience.
- 57:13Speaker 6: There is no doubt in my mind that we would
- 57:15Speaker 6: have not lasted to the next WrestleMania, the WrestleMania that
- 57:18Speaker 6: we end up main eventing.
- 57:20Speaker 4: There's no way we would have even been on the roster.
- 57:23Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no way.
- 57:25Speaker 4: Just there's just no way we would have been fired.
- 57:28Speaker 1: It's just unreal like experience.
- 57:29Speaker 4: It was like a uh, you know, of course we
- 57:33Speaker 4: we we.
- 57:35Speaker 6: Capitalize on the opportunity, but you know, without Adam giving
- 57:39Speaker 6: us that opportunity, you know, our whole careers.
- 57:44Speaker 3: It's like one yes or no could have shaped our
- 57:48Speaker 3: whole careers. And I'm just saying, nah, I don't want
- 57:49Speaker 3: to do that with these guys. Are not even mentioned.
- 57:51Speaker 4: We could have been the next Gemini likes.
- 57:54Speaker 3: What that would have been the only you know, little
- 57:58Speaker 3: chance we would have gotten no figure, no major rest
- 58:01Speaker 3: of the podcast.
- 58:02Speaker 1: I really don't know, like what.
- 58:04Speaker 3: We'd be pop it down, just working at the Deer
- 58:07Speaker 3: for our community center. I don't know, shit, I don't know.
- 58:11Speaker 4: I mean, so we're we're eternally grateful. It was life altering,
- 58:14Speaker 4: life altering, career altering.
- 58:19Speaker 5: All right, Well, I thought this was a we just
- 58:22Speaker 5: hit to this chicken, very rude question. I mean, a
- 58:28Speaker 5: lot of the people ask the questions, you know, the
- 58:30Speaker 5: setting it up. Uh, we're right out an hour right now.
- 58:34Speaker 1: So we're good.
- 58:35Speaker 6: I mean, I'm sure we can always go back to this,
- 58:36Speaker 6: but I think next time and this will I'm sure
- 58:39Speaker 6: we'll cover some of the tail end of the edghedds,
- 58:42Speaker 6: but I think we should go next month, like tail
- 58:45Speaker 6: end of the edgeheds into the split where like where
- 58:49Speaker 6: you right where you have to go to FCW and
- 58:52Speaker 6: where I have to ride the like right up to
- 58:54Speaker 6: that split.
- 58:55Speaker 4: The draft sho do edgeheads?
- 58:57Speaker 1: I think the draft embarrassing job or ship.
- 59:00Speaker 4: A lot of cool.
- 59:01Speaker 6: Yeah, nothing cool, like whole, like miserable, bro, like humbling, fall, rude, rude, awakening.
- 59:10Speaker 4: Baby, Wow, let's do that. Let's do the of the edgeheads.
- 59:14Speaker 5: And then there's well, you do win the titles, but
- 59:16Speaker 5: then so.
- 59:16Speaker 1: Let's do it for me.
- 59:17Speaker 3: Let's do it from the edgehead bro. Yeah but it's
- 59:21Speaker 3: a lot familiar though. Yeah, okay, that was the surreal.
- 59:26Speaker 6: So let's let's go from winning the titles too to
- 59:30Speaker 6: the official split, not the false split where Vince tells
- 59:33Speaker 6: us we're gonna split, but the real split.
- 59:36Speaker 5: Right, Okay, deal, Thanks guys, hard Foundation. You are the
- 59:41Speaker 5: pillar of the community, the rock that holds this thing together.

- 59:48Speaker 5: now we're on our way to ron.
- 59:50Speaker 1: Okay, we're on.
