  [SPEAKER_00]: Getting in the green, getting below the salary cap before the start of the league year, is something that every team must do.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, there's a report that the Jaguars were a team in the mix for Max Crosby.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Ryan O'Hallerin has also said according to his source that the Jaguars were not a serious contender for Max Crosby.

  [SPEAKER_00]: trade to execute when teams are offering current year first round picks and the jaguars would have to offer a 2027 and a 2028 first round pick if they were going to get in on two first round picks right so like it just didn't make sense and then you also have the fact that the Ravens who are going to do that deal with the Raiders they actually had the 14th overall pick the jaguars pick

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that the Jaguars are going to go assign some really big unrestricted free agent, maybe they will, maybe they won't, but I do think the Jaguars are going to continue to clear cap space by doing exactly what they've been doing in the last couple days.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Unless they have a plan where they're like, we love Trayvon, but we need to get a little bit more past-rush production.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm not saying that that would be my path forward, but like, I have a lot of confidence in what James Gladstone and them are cooking over there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the trades and the free agent signings, none of it can officially happen until,

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, the Jax, again, they're working not only to get compliant, but in my opinion, working, and again, compliant just means under the cap, like you're not over the cap.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're also going to be, in my opinion, working towards being able to clear up enough cap space to make a big move.

  [SPEAKER_00]: is, move, I'd be a big fan of, it's not like this, he doesn't have the same name, the same cachet as a Max Crosby, and he's not the same level of player as a Max Crosby, but he is a really good player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Day two pick and a day three pick is what is what people are reporting at this point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I just can't imagine James Gladstone going into a year like this and not feeling like they have the ammunition or the motivation to really get something done.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, the jaguars were in on Quill, you know, Quinn and Williams last year, they floored it, I guess, with the Max Crosby situation a little bit according to a lot of different reports.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so, you know, with Jonathan Granard, are they going to be able to land him?

  [SPEAKER_00]: They've obviously been very interested over the last several months, dating back to the trade deadline, in getting better on the defensive line, getting better on the defensive front.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Desire for that move obviously shows that the interest in Max Crosby shows that so how do the Jaguar is moved forward?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Is it signing a player who's out there in for agency?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Because there's going to be a lot of those guys too, but you have to keep in mind if you go out and sign an unrestricted for agent that was not released by their team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have to if you want to play the compensatory pick game with Devon Lloyd where he signs gets a top 5% of his position

  [SPEAKER_00]: or a fourth round pick, depending on what the number comes in at, you could lose that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you go sign a big unrestricted free agent, that's in the top five or 10 or 15% or whatever at their position.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you got to weigh the pros and cons, there's going to be free agents out there that have been released by their team that won't impact the compensatory pick formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's also going to be, again, potential trades, like Jonathan Grenard, et cetera, where you could do execute that and not worry about the compensatory pick formula.
