Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
• 0:06
where we left off with the Bill Gates interview with
• 0:09
Congress question referring back to Exhibit D, if I could,
• 0:13
I would just like to walk through some of the
• 0:15
entries which refer to you and meetings that you had
• 0:17
according to this document with Jeffrey Epstein. So I'm looking
• 0:21
at the top the entry for Wednesday February twenty seventh,
• 0:24
twenty thirteen. There's a reference to an appointment from two
• 0:28
to three thirty pm with you at the Four Seasons.
• 0:31
Do you recall having a meeting with mister Epstein at
• 0:34
the Four Seasons on that date? Discussion off the record,
• 0:38
back on Gates. Yeah, the only thing we show on
• 0:41
February of that year, which you know, my calendar has
• 0:44
kept pretty precisely. All we show is a skype call
• 0:47
on I believe February twenty seventh. Oh no, okay, we're
• 0:51
in twenty thirteen. That's funny because there was a skype
• 0:56
call in twenty fourteen on February twenty seven, So I
• 0:59
apologize that confused me. No, it looks like there was
• 1:02
a meeting at the Four Seasons on the twenty seventh,
• 1:04
then at dinner later that night at Epstein's residence in
• 1:07
New York City. Sorry, question, no problem. I appreciate the clarification.
• 1:12
I'll walk through those in a moment, just for clarity
• 1:15
of the record. The skype call that we discussed a
• 1:18
few minutes ago that took place during February of twenty fourteen. Answer,
• 1:22
that's right, and I looked and saw February twenty seventh,
• 1:26
and I thought that must be it. But that's just
• 1:29
a mistake I made February twenty seventh. What my calendar shows,
• 1:33
and I'm sure it's correct, is that I met with
• 1:35
him at Four Seasons during the day, and that there
• 1:37
was a dinner at his house that night. Question. Okay, so,
• 1:41
with respect of Four Seasons meeting on February twenty seventh,
• 1:44
twenty thirteen, who other than yourself was in attendance at
• 1:48
that meeting if anyone? Answer? I mentioned that I think
• 1:52
that there was a time that even Dubin and a
• 1:54
friend came by, but they weren't part of the meeting,
• 1:56
but they were at the meeting. Question do you recall
• 1:58
the name of miss Dubin's friends. Answer, I don't question,
• 2:02
and again the topic of discussion at that meeting. Answer,
• 2:05
you know you're getting to that period where there's a
• 2:08
lot of focus on whether money can be raised for
• 2:10
global health, so that would have been the primary topic. Question.
• 2:15
Just looking at a couple of entries on February twenty seventh,
• 2:18
there's a notation twelve twenty pm and apologies, I'm almost
• 2:22
certainly going to mispronounce this name redacted for the court
• 2:25
reporter redacted to arrive JFK by Virgin Atlantic three and
• 2:30
at the end of the entry it says four Seasons
• 2:32
to meet up with you, referring to Epstein at two
• 2:34
pm discussion off record. Back on question, do you recall
• 2:40
an individual by that name attending the four Seasons meeting? Answer?
• 2:45
No question? And then the ten to fifteen PM meeting
• 2:49
were reflected in this calendar that I understand correctly took
• 2:51
place at mister Gate's residence. Answer, no question, I'm sorry
• 2:56
mister Epstein's residence. Answer, I don't think there was ten
• 3:00
to fifteen meeting. I thought it was earlier than that
• 3:03
question and was that at dinner? Answer? I think so? Yes.
• 3:08
Question and do you recall who attended that dinner. Answer.
• 3:11
I think that was another time where Terry Rod Larsen
• 3:14
and Jaguline Thorborn Jaglind is his last name, Thorborne Jaglind
• 3:18
attended the dinner, and that's also the dinner where he
• 3:21
invited us over and David Blaine came and did a
• 3:24
few magic tricks. Question you were asked in a previous
• 3:28
round about the presence of young women during these various interactions.
• 3:31
Do you recall any young women being present at mister
• 3:34
Gates' home on the evening of February twenty seventh. Answer
• 3:38
mister Epstein's home, not my home. When David Blaine did
• 3:42
his magic trick or tricks, there was one of those
• 3:45
ADMIN people standing around as that was being done, but
• 3:48
I was not introduced to her. Question. Moving ahead chronologically,
• 3:52
the entry for February twenty eighth, again referring to Exhibit D,
• 3:57
starts with the notation reminder Bill Gates and New New York,
• 4:01
and then further down at two pm tentative appointment with
• 4:04
Bill Gates. Do you recall another meeting with Jeffrey Epstein
• 4:08
at two pm on that date? Answer? No, I didn't
• 4:11
meet with him on that day. Mister Clare did not.
• 4:14
Gates did not question and were you still in New
• 4:18
York on February twenty eighth or had you left? Answer?
• 4:22
I was probably there. Question and then moving ahead to
• 4:25
the entry for Friday, March first, twenty thirteen, there's a
• 4:28
notation one pm lunch with Bill Gates and Woody Allen.
• 4:32
Do you recall having lunch with mister Epstein and Woody Allen? Answer?
• 4:36
I never met Woody Allen. I did not ever have lunch,
• 4:39
so this never took place. Question and then immediately blow TBD.
• 4:44
Maybe fly to PB today tonight, Bill Gates to fly
• 4:47
with you maybe? And for question marks assuming pom Beach
• 4:51
refers to Palm Beach, did you fly to Palm Beach
• 4:54
with mister Epstein on March first? Answer? Yeah, March first
• 4:58
or second? I did? Yes? Question What was the purpose
• 5:02
of the trip upon Beach? Answer? It was just to
• 5:04
mister Epstein, you know, was seeking more time to talk
• 5:07
to me, and I was going to Wellington, Florida to
• 5:09
see my daughter. So he suggested, because I had a
• 5:12
very full schedule, that we fly together at upon Beach,
• 5:15
which we did. It was not his seven twenty seven
• 5:18
but we flew on a different plane to pon Beach.
• 5:21
Question a private plane, I take it? Answer a private plane,
• 5:24
And I don't know if he owned it or chartered
• 5:26
it or whatever, but it was a gulf Stream, not
• 5:29
the well known seven to twenty seven that was Epstein's
• 5:32
other plane, by the way. Question was anyone else on
• 5:34
the flight with you? Answer? Yeah, he had. Of course
• 5:38
there was a pilot on the flight presumably question presumably
• 5:41
and hopefully yes. Answer and I believe that there were
• 5:44
two ADMIN assistants who sat in the first cabin during
• 5:47
the flight. Question Okay, were you introduced to either of
• 5:50
those admint assistants? Answer? I was not. Question were they
• 5:53
both female? Answer yes, question relatively young? Answer, I wouldn't
• 5:59
say that they were underaged. I think there was a
• 6:02
photo taken we could look at, but they appeared to
• 6:04
be adult women to me. Did you have any understanding
• 6:08
that Jeffrey Epstein had a relationship of any kind with
• 6:11
either of those women beyond an employment relationship? Answer no.
• 6:16
Question Did you witness any sexual activity or sexual abuse
• 6:19
on that plane? Answer never? Question And when you got
• 6:24
to pom Beach, did you stay with Jeffrey Epstein at
• 6:26
his house. Answer, I did not. I never went to
• 6:29
his pom Beach house. As soon as the plane landed,
• 6:32
my security team met me there and I went to
• 6:34
another location in Florida, which is Wellington. Question and was
• 6:39
this trip to Palm Beach the only time that you
• 6:41
flew on a plane with Jeffrey Epstein? Answer? That's right.
• 6:45
Question you referred during the previous round with the majority.
• 6:48
If I understood correctly that you met at some point
• 6:51
in twenty thirteen with Jeffrey Epstein in Paris, France, is
• 6:55
that correct? Answer? Yes? Question okay, What was the purpose
• 6:59
of that trip? Answer? I was in Paris for other things,
• 7:04
and there was an afternoon where I went over to
• 7:06
I think a place that he owned in Paris, and
• 7:09
I spent a few hours with him that afternoon. Question
• 7:12
and what did you discuss with him that afternoon? Answer?
• 7:15
You know, the substantive discussion would have been about the
• 7:18
possibility of raising money philanthropically. You know, we possibly touched
• 7:22
on I think the French Open was going on at
• 7:24
the time. Question was anyone else present in the apartment
• 7:28
during your meeting? Answer? Yeah, I mean there were definitely
• 7:31
a staff people there, including a chef who cooked a
• 7:33
lot of food and served it to us at a
• 7:35
time when we weren't hungry, and I forget. I think
• 7:38
doctor Nikolich was there. I don't think mister Cohen was there,
• 7:42
but yes there was a meeting. Question. Is the name
• 7:45
Jean Luke Brunell familiar to you? Answer? Through the press only?
• 7:49
Question do you recall mister Brunell being present at that meeting? Answer?
• 7:53
He was not. I never met him. Question. I'm going
• 7:55
to ask the court reporter to mark exhibit E an
• 7:58
email from mister Nickolitch to y you, dated June eighth,
• 8:01
twenty thirteen, and for the record, the email thread bears
• 8:04
the BAITS number e FTA zero zero eight seven, three,
• 8:09
three nine zero through ninety two. Mister Gates, do you
• 8:13
recall this email? Answer? I have a recollection. Yes. Question
• 8:17
you referred, as I remember during the first hour to
• 8:20
an invitation that was extended to you while you were
• 8:23
in Paris, which you declined. Does this email thread refer
• 8:26
to that invitation? Answer? It does. Question just a couple
• 8:29
of questions about the substance of the exchange. I'm looking
• 8:34
at mister nikolaicch email to you on the page that
• 8:37
bears the Baits number ninety one. At the end the
• 8:40
second page of this exhibit, he writes, have you ever
• 8:43
been in Legendary Crazy Horse in Paris? It's one of
• 8:47
those erotic, upscale, elegant shows. It's fun if you have
• 8:50
never been, And then skipping to the end of the email,
• 8:53
most likely we can go after backstage and meet some artists,
• 8:57
as Jeffrey dated a few of them. Then you're applying
• 9:00
the next email up above for eighteen PM. I will
• 9:04
be too tired to do this and wouldn't want to
• 9:06
take the risk. What risk exactly were you referring to here? Answer?
• 9:11
I think in general going to a show of erotic
• 9:13
nature is I just don't choose to do that. I
• 9:15
don't think it would be helpful for my reputation. In
• 9:18
my early twenties, I probably went to a show like
• 9:21
that once or twice. But here I'm saying that I
• 9:24
believe it would be a mistake for me to accept
• 9:26
this invitation. You know, just another example of where there
• 9:30
was kind of an attempt to draw me into a
• 9:31
more social relationship question and you had concerns about potential
• 9:35
reputational harm in the event that you were spotted. Answer
• 9:39
right and it wasn't consistent with the relationship I had
• 9:41
with Epstein. We never did anything of an entertainment or
• 9:45
relaxing nature, and so this would have been a change
• 9:47
in the relationship that I chose to make. Question was
• 9:51
there anything specific to Jeffrey Epstein that led you to
• 9:54
not want to attend his event? Answer? Yeah, I guess.
• 9:58
Not only is my appearing at in a rock event
• 10:00
to risk my reputation, it would be compounded by appearing
• 10:03
with somebody who, although I didn't know the full extent
• 10:06
of it, had been convicted of a sexually related crime.
• 10:10
Question and was that on your mind when you wrote
• 10:12
this reply to mister Nikolic? Answer? Certainly. Question, mister Gates,
• 10:17
I have no more questions for the moment, but I
• 10:19
understand that some of our members have questions for you
• 10:21
at this point. Question, and before we turn it over
• 10:24
to our members, for those new members who just arrived,
• 10:27
can you please introduce yourself for the record. Congresswoman Emily Randall, Washington,
• 10:33
sixth District, yasamin An Sorry, Arizona's third District, Rocana, California.
• 10:39
Tim Burchett, Tennessee. Do we have to do this every
• 10:42
time we walk in mister Adak did not every time,
• 10:46
mister Burchett, Okay, cool, all right, thank you, Missus Stansbury,
• 10:50
Melanie Stansbury, New Mexico's first Garcia. Great, thank you, Thank you,
• 10:55
mister Gates. Thanks for being here today and for your
• 10:58
cooperation in answering questions. Obviously, this investigation for us is
• 11:02
about getting to Jeffrey Epstein's crimes, accountability and justice for
• 11:06
the survivors. I think you acknowledge that at the start.
• 11:09
I have a couple of questions, but I wanted to
• 11:12
also just ask you. Look, I think everyone recognizes that
• 11:16
you've built incredible companies, your foundation, the work that's happened
• 11:19
across the world. You've done an enormous amount of good
• 11:22
for a lot of people globally, and so I do
• 11:24
want to recognize. I want to recognize that, and it's
• 11:28
appreciated because we're looking to get justice and having an
• 11:31
investigation that, at the end of the day is about survivors.
• 11:35
In your interaction with mister Ebstein in which you describe
• 11:38
some and you will throughout the day as we seek
• 11:41
to get a better understanding of how we can learn
• 11:44
exactly what happened and who is responsible, can you suggest
• 11:47
and you are incredibly brilliant person. Obviously in your interactions
• 11:51
with mister Ebstein, could you suggest or do you have
• 11:54
any suggestions of who are people within his orbit, whether
• 11:58
they were assistants, you may have interacted with staff, you
• 12:01
may have seen that we should be asking questions to
• 12:04
get additional information. If you were given the committee some
• 12:08
thoughts about folks that we should be talking to in
• 12:11
this investigation, is there anyone that you could suggest or
• 12:14
that you would suggest, whether you remember their names or not,
• 12:17
but folks within Jeffrey Epstein's orbit that could have information
• 12:20
vital to the investigation gates You know, I'm really not
• 12:24
sure because his illegal activity didn't come up and weren't
• 12:28
happening when I was ever there, And I mentioned that
• 12:31
my second dinner just day and Larry Summers were present,
• 12:34
and I've said in subsequent dinners the two Norwegian gentlemen
• 12:37
were present. Later on in twenty fourteen, as I pushed
• 12:41
Epstein on who were these people that he had this
• 12:44
close professional relationship relative their taxes and their will and
• 12:48
therefore that they might be doing philanthropically, he had me
• 12:52
meet with a number of them. But I don't want
• 12:54
to cast any aspersion on those men because I don't
• 12:57
have specific knowledge of any of these men's bad behavior,
• 13:00
but you know, those were some of the people who
• 13:02
were around, and you know, part of the reason that
• 13:05
I foolishly spend time with Epstein was seeing those other
• 13:08
well known people in his orbit that had an influence
• 13:11
on me. But I'm not blaming them, and I do
• 13:13
feel bad that my spending time with them may have
• 13:16
furnished his reputation to some degree. All right, folks, we're
• 13:20
going to wrap up right here, and in the next episode,
• 13:22
we're going to pick up where we left off. All
• 13:24
the information that goes with this episode can be found
• 13:27
  in the description box.
