- 2:35[SPEAKER_04]: It's really good.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_04]: Paul, pluck the Emerald Floor Show.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, Emerald Floor Show.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: We're on the...
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: a voice of us in podcasting feed as well as our own feed and we generally cover all Japan, pro wrestling and most pertinent to this one, pro wrestling Noah, as well as everyone's in a while we dip into like baked Japan, DDT and well really like any kinds of other like men's pro wrestling in Japan as well, but mainly all Japan and Noah.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_04]: So I want to kick things off here.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just approaching this from my position to complete ignorance.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_04]: Could you please just tell us a bit about the different...
- 3:14[SPEAKER_04]: organisations involved in this, so specifically I'm talking cyber-agent, cyber-fights, a beamer, and wrestle universe.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_04]: So could you tell us what those four things are, please?
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so basically at the top of all of this, we have cyber-agent.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: So cyber-agent is a listed company in Japan, actually quite large listed company in Japan.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: pretty short and major part of the blue chip index.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: So just really like a big like media conglomerate like well and in this case all the specifically new media conglomerate in Japan like they're very specifically focused on like internet media specifically.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: So one of the main platforms for that is a bima which I'm pretty sure a lot of people have already heard of but if you don't know it's kind of like
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: And think the best way to describe it is kind of like an equivalent to like it's Japanese YouTube in many ways where you just have like a lot of like videos, in this case though it's less user-generated content, it is a lot more like professionally uploaded content.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: So but yeah basically you can watch like a lot of like video on demand as well as you have a lot of like life.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: uh... channels being aired like over the internet on a beam up it's actually if you've ever be like to like give it like an idea of how big it is right like if you go to a hotel these days and you have like a relatively modern TV they will have like the buttons on it for like the larger like streaming services so like in like right in like most of the western world you will have like a button for Netflix for like Amazon Prime
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: those kinds of things.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: Well, if you go to a Japanese hotel, more likely they're not.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like, your TV remote will have a button for a BMO on it.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's how big this platform is in Japan.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_04]: It doesn't show up, or do you have an account with a BMO?
- 5:07[SPEAKER_04]: Is that something available internationally or only in Japan?
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of a bit, you can make an account with a BMO.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: make like a pretty sweet can't like like there isn't a bema like like premium thing as well and I'm pretty sure you can sign up for that and like there's definitely certain things that are like region locked as well so for example like you know like like but like certain things on a bema region locked it's also like a bema life paper view platform as well which is only available in
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: across more countries now, it used to be only available and the Philippines, the US, South Korea, Thailand.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: And now, it is in a lot more countries as well.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_04]: So that, and like I'm creating using a beam we can't outside your pan, but it's pretty heavy, dear restricted.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, beam life specifically is for international paper views.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: So like you can't, they have paper views on a beam at self, but those are generally limited to only Japanese viewers.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: And if you want to, but it's like international paper with all run through a be my life instead, which no way used to have shows on dozen any more, not at least not recently, but like, for example, like holiday, if like the big V2 bar agency recently announced that they're going to like broadcast some stuff through a be my life.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so, but also of not to so while, um,
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: while a cyber-age-distant majority owner of a BMA, they are, it is also a, I think, 30% of it are held by TBSI.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: So this is already kind of like a bit of like a, like this, like new Japan purchase isn't the first time these two have cooperated.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like TBSI already has holdings in a BMA.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: They already have like a pretty large interest in a BMA.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's just that it is very clearly controlled by cyber-age.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: So now one of the things that cyber agent has done is that they purchased DDT like quite a few years ago at this point I think getting close to ten ten years maybe
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: Again, it has been a while that cyber agent has own DDT and then kind of around like 2019, 2020, don't remember the exact dates anymore.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: They also purchased Pro Wrestling Noah.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: So this was largely, this was the thing I was very much driven by Sanctuary Takagi, the president of DDT.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: where he, because Noah at that point, wasn't really diastrates, like they were very close to going out of business, really, really bad situation, like they were owned by lidet at the time, what things were not good.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: So basically, it's easier to carry resolve to purchase Noah to stop it from going out of business, because Mitsuhari Masawa was one of the early investors in DDT.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: like DDT wouldn't have gotten properly off the ground without the help from Misawa and that's why this was basically Takagi like repaying that favor by like stopping no off from going out of business like it's basically yeah like he repayed the favor of like Misawa like not letting like Misawa's promotion die was like him repaying the favor of Misawa helping them start DDT.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: But basically, because at that point, right?
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: So the own DDT, the own Noah as well.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: So at that point, cyborage, then kind of like forum their own wrestling division called Cyber Fight.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: And Cyber Fight is kind of the company that now holds both DDT, Noah, and Tokyo, Joshi Pro.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, so Takagi used to be president of that.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Um, the new president is, I forget his name.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like he was, he got into that position like, uh, bit more than a year ago now, um, and put like Takagi and Marifuji are still like representative officers of the like respective brands.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: or like, within Cybified.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: So basically, it's, but also the new president is a guy that used to work directly for Takagi.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: So it is very much like the overarching structure from Cybified is still very much in such a way that it is like basically DDT is the driving force and that.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, but it is kind of that's like the company that owns like both DDT and Noah and then kind of through sciver fight they have their own streaming platform separate from a beamer specifically for wrestling called wrestle universe.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: And on Visual Universe, you have all of the sci-ber-fight brands that upload the shows there.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: But then you also have non-s sci-ber-fight companies that upload shows on Visual Universe.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: So you have marvelous.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Is uploading shows there.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: Marry gold is streaming and uploading the shows there.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: Then,
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: like many more.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, I'm blanking on some of them right now.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: There's probably a bunch of people yelling at me at a different promotion uploading the show's there.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, so like it is kind of like to me, it is still the best deal in wrestling, because like it's the same price as every other streaming platform but you get like eight different promotions instead of just one like it get with most of the other streaming services.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_04]: And what's the platform like is it easy to use?
- 10:54[SPEAKER_04]: Is it like relatively stream my relative to something like a new Japan world?
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's much better than New Japan world.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: That's also, yeah.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: No, like because again, like right because it'd be my right like cyborage and like is probably they're mentioned at the beginning.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: It is primarily a new media company.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like having a good streaming platform is literally the bread and butter.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's literally how they make their money.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that and gothra games.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: But that's besides the point.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, no quite literally having a good digital infrastructure is kind of the bread and butter.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like it is something they're very heavily focused on.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: And Resil universe to me is just it works very, very smoothly.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: They have like a good, like...
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: They have like a good like TV app as well that works very well like you just go in and you can just select Like what stream you want like what stream you want to watch is very well like organized like you like each promotion has like their own tap and then you have like one like general feed where you can just see like
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: every show that was uploaded recently, you can see every show that is scheduled to stream.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: If it's scheduled to stream, you can set yourself a reminder as well that it will tell you like, oh we started streaming now.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: Once things basically like once shows like have finished streaming and to go onto VOD, they will have like chapters available that show you like so you can
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: So, like for example, like no or right now has their tag leak going on.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, if you only want to watch the tag leak mattress because this is already a house show tour.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: So, you don't, like, it's not really much of a point in watching like the Undercard tag.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: So, like you can just go in and jump like straight to the tag leak mattress.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: So no, and it also has, so actually also the other thing, what is actually, so very often, the live streams on there for Noah, for example, for like Hurricane shows, or like bigger shows than that, will only have the English version streaming on Wessel Universe, because the Japanese version is streaming on a B-man set.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_04]: That was going to be my next question.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_04]: Like, what does the content distribution, like how the content shared across a Beamer and Russell universe is everything that they show on a Beamer also available on Russell universe, that how does that shake out?
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so basically the live streams for bigger shows are in the Japanese ones are on a Beamer.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: English is everything in English is on Russell universe exclusively.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, except for again, if they do like a big paper view on a be my life, then the English feed is on a be my life instead, instead of Russell universe, though notable Russell universe also has a paper view function.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: Again, this is Japan, look, you know, it like they just double up on everything.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like redundancy is very much like a key feature of the Japanese
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, so basically, if you want to watch it live in Japanese, you need to watch it for NOAA, you need to watch it on Abima.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: But notably though, the VOD then will also be available in Japanese on Resil Universe as well.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: So if you want to watch it live in English, go to Resil Universe, if you want to watch it live in Japanese, you go to Abima.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: If you're watching on VOD, you can just go to Resil Universe.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_04]: So, cyboragent today, like 100% own know-and-now, and what changes have no seen as a result of cyboragent taken over in 2020, do you say?
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, around Derrishia.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so basically the main changes, like the immediate changes were,
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: like basically coming out of the pandemic, Noah started running a really really, really, really ambitious schedule.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: So DDT kind of is mostly left to its own devices, essentially, like just kind of keeping on what you're doing.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: Because it works for DDT, where it's Noah kind of needed to do something.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think early on, there really was a push
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like the schedule that they run was insanely ambitious.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like they ran a bunch of really, really big buildings.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_00]: Again, they infirmously try to do the whole thing with KjMuto and everything and trying to draw of his name, relevance, and maybe use that to elevate some people like KjMia, which did not work.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: at all, like they ran some big shows and front of like half empty buildings and it looked really bad and really embarrassing.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like they turned on the house lights and some of those shows really, really strongly.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: Now they have kind of reduced ambition of the schedule.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's which ironically enough they did just as their attendance was turning around.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: because now they have actually hit on a major star in Ozawa.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, they're kind of in that weird middle ground period right now where I think they're kind of trying to figure out what they're trying to do.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: If they want to go back to running a really ambitious schedule or if they kind of want to keep it like build it a little bit and capitalize on Ozawa's popularity or if they want to like,
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: build things up a little bit slower.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: But like basically coming out of the pandemic, like there was an immediate big push like the production values weren't saying.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like Noah for a while, they had like the best like production values, like I would say in all of wrestling.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like they had like some of the stages that they had, like they must have cost like in insane amount of money, like that they had like they were nuts.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: If we do that a little now, obviously, they still have really good sets for really big shows.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: But it is noticeably a little less, but now they're actually doing pretty well.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: Attendance voice, like they're actually breaking some records that have stood for a long, long time.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like again, last year, they were literally like the best drawing promotion in Currican, in all of Japan.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, that's basically progressing, no, right now, where it's like Ambition, but it's not quite clear where that ambition is placed.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's a bit of a, it's a promotion, a very, very weird spot right now.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_00]: So, they get any terrestrial TVs on.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: As far as I know, I don't think they're even on, I want to say they're not even on samurai TV.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so, no, it's because again, they're fully owned by your B-ma right now, and a B-ma kind of wants basically wants the content on their own platform.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's yeah, like, unless I'm missing something, I don't think they're on Japanese TV in any way right now.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_04]: And would you say, as alone a cyber agent, pretty hands-on or hands-off when it comes to the day-to-day running of knowing and booking and things like that?
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I would say they've been pretty like hands-off in terms of the booking.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like they left the same booker in place when they took over.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Nassawa was already the booker of Noah, uh, when they took over, like he, like Nassawa was an employee of LaDette,
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: when cyborage and talk over Noah and then he moved over with Noah to cyborage.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: So, it seems that Noah is no longer the booker and it's exclusively the booker of Monde magic these days, so that is a little unclear at the moment.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's not quite clear who is actually
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: at the moment.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_04]: I guess what point is like there's not any evidence of a lot of interference.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: No, no.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: They only think it's probably that they gave them some support, right?
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe told them to run more ambitious schedules so that they can put like big 10-pole shows on a BMA.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: But maybe that was also no internal thing, right?
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's not quite clear who was actually driving force behind that.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, mostly cyber agent has been like fairly hands-off on things.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_04]: And the same with DDT if I'm not mistaken, they left to carry in charge when they purchased DDT.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_04]: Um, let's say it's been...
- 19:39[SPEAKER_04]: more or much collaboration between Noah and DDT and even, take it as your pro as a result of them being unified under this banner.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: So that is actually one of the weirdo things where they kept Noah and DD like that was something that I actually personally expected to be happening a lot when the like original projects happened but then they kind of kept them very strictly apart like so much so that actually arguably Noah and DDT were two of the like men's Japanese like professing promotions
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: that had the least amount of crossover.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like there was more crossover between Noah and New Japan and like DDT and like other companies then there was really like Noah and DDT.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_00]: Now notably early on, they did have like there's like baked and poltrol called the sciber fight festival.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: which was kind of intended right like to be like the big crossover show between all of the like sci-ber-fight promotions.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: So you had like DDT and there you had no on there you had like DDT versus no a mattress on there.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: You're talking to a grocery mattress on there as well.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: But then they stopped doing them.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's not quite like I don't think they've ever said why they stopped doing them.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_00]: I might have been that the attendance wasn't up to the satisfaction.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: It is notable that like the last one that happened was the one where infamously like Katsuhiko Nakajima knocked out Tetsuya and no, which kind of completely derailed both man's career to be called honest.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_00]: Now we have recently, like and by recently I mean like really like within the last year.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: We have seen a bit more cross over and because we've also had people kind of explicitly switch rasters as well.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_00]: So Tetsuya and the moved over from DDT to Noah, like he's technically still a DDT contracted wrestler, but like he's wrestled in DDT less than Takaeshahast.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: So write and to catch the assigned to two other promotions.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so, like, he really is like a full-time the Oris-led East-Az.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then, uh, you've also had, um, why am I blanking on this name right now, uh, the guy in Orange got sent to Mexico allegedly, uh, Junior, sorry, yeah, I can't, sorry, I'm blanking on this name right now.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: But basically, you had like, uh, a junior from Noah, move over to, uh, move over to DDT.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: You had Yukino actually recently, it's not announced as a jump yet, but Yukino from DDT now has from the tag team with Manabusoya in Noah.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: So it seems like he might be a bit more regular in Noah going forward.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: But again, this is all like very recent developments.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: For the longest part, like DDT and Noah were kept like, it's very, very
- 23:03[SPEAKER_04]: So, I think it fair to say them on a side-brace like no moves towards merging companies or anything.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_04]: They've been perfectly happy to just leave them as distinct entities and just have content from both companies to put on their platform.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that is also what I would expect as happening with this whole new Japan move as well.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: Do to play a little devil's advocate on that.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: Um, would be that it does make a lot of sense to keep DDT and Noah separate because they're very different products, right?
- 23:40[SPEAKER_00]: Like DDT is very unique in the product that it produces and has like a very like clear fan base that once exactly this type of product, whereas I would say the type of product produced
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: isn't.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_00]: Cool.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_04]: Have you watched any best of Super Genius?
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: I actually haven't.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard some things that apparently, you know what, maybe Noah and maybe Noah, New Japan aren't of one's getting much, maybe it is actually DDT and New Japan and we'll get merged.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I was gonna say maybe they're sort of they're priming for the unification of the two companies by gradually turning You look to cash to cash that is becoming the eighth one more way or the other and if that means turning new Japan a DDD and so of it What would you make of cyberagent investing in new Japan was that a surprise to you like what does they get out of this at the side from the obvious It was a surprise.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I did not expect it.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I think people's somewhat overstating importance of it because it's pretty clear that TBSI are the ones like in the driver seat here.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: TBSI, right, like A, like the very clearest indication of that.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: I know that both of them hold an equal stake, but the very, very clearest indication that TBSI are the ones in a driver seat is the fact that, let New Japan,
- 25:13[SPEAKER_00]: has been declared as a consolidated subsidiary of TVSI.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: That tells you, in very clear, no uncertain copper terms, that it's controlled by TVSI.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_00]: They may be the equal shareholders to cyborage, but cyborage is going to be the hands of partner in that, because otherwise they wouldn't call
- 25:37[SPEAKER_00]: New Japan, a consolidated subsidiary of TBSI because being a consolidated subsidiary means that you're kind of like running the show because otherwise you could also just have it as a non-consolidated like subsidiary and then you find like some other way of like structuring the management of like your new company but in this case like it seems like TBSI will be a lot more like
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: hands on in that regard.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_00]: And Cybra agent is just kind of there for the right as well.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: Another good indicator for like who cares much more about this transaction is the fact that TVSI put out this lengthy statement right like that they've done this like the purchase of New Japan and how it fits into like their newly announced strategy of like content production and everything and Cybra agent still hasn't put out a statement.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this should be in complete radius size.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: They haven't even put out like this nothing out there right now.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: From the cyber agent side that like, this is a transaction.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like, the only reason we know about this is because other people have told us that cyber agent isn't involved in this.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: Because the cyber agent side hasn't said anything, which tells you how much of a strategic importance it is for them.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: Now why did they do this?
- 26:53[SPEAKER_00]: Well,
- 26:55[SPEAKER_00]: One of the things is, and I think that's not really something, people are there aware of outside of Japan that, well, this is also to some degree just how business is done outside of Japan.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_00]: Not outside, sorry, this is how business is often done in Japan.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like you often have these strategic partnerships that companies have for each other, ready like invest together in a bunch of businesses.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: so like it is also like to reduce for example like the burden on just like each individual company right because now instead of instead of like TVSI having to pay for the entirety of pushy road stake in New Japan they only have to like
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: but pay not even pay half of it because they didn't even pay by half of it.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like most of the transaction costs for this is actually on like cyber agent side, right?
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like some of the reasons for that is to like, because you have like this relationship and you want to stay on the good side of that relationship.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: Because again, you have TVSI cooperating with cyber agent on a B-ma.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: And keeping TVSI happy means that TVSI will keep like providing content for a B-ma,
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: cyber agent ultimately wants out of this and I think that's what they want out of this relationship right like them investing in new Japan as well is like there's definitely going to be a lot more
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: a new-to-pan content on a Bhima and actually another thing like a thing that a Bhima actually had on their most recent investor presentation is that they've started doing these like membership plans on a Bhima where you can purchase like membership in like a different streaming service through a Bhima at like a reduced price essentially.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: So, for example, you can purchase like membership or fossil universe through a BIMA, and I expect that like, I think that's something you can put a lot of money on where we are definitely going to see like a new Japan world plan on a purchasable through a BIMA.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think that is almost a guarantee.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, maybe some sort of like wrestling fan package where you get a discount for signing up for both wrestling universe and NJPW or something like that.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so I mean, that was gonna be my next question.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_04]: How do you see the New Japan content distribution to look across those different platforms with New Japan world and a B-mer, and maybe even wrestling universe, I don't know, but yeah, obviously, side-braging have put 46% now, there are only 46% of your fans.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it's a big one for you.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_04]: a hefty amount of New Japan content to appear on a Beamer.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_04]: Like, would you think that might look like, is it just going to be everything that is on New Japan world is on a Beamer or how she makes shakes out?
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I don't think any of the, I think any of the English content is not going to be on a Beamer.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think that, again, I mentioned before, that's the way it works on Wesley Universe, I would expect, well, basically, for some of the people that do not like the English commentary,
- 30:08[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I'm going to be disappointed because I'm very certain that the like all of the like Japanese language content or at least the ones for like Karikan shows and up is going to be moving to a Bima.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like similar to the way it is on Instagram.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_04]: It might become like an exclusive platform for foreign fans, basically.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for English content, yeah.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_00]: Well, actually, there's another good indication of that, right?
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like because they just yanked one of the exclusive perks for Japanese,
- 30:40[SPEAKER_00]: like members of a new Japan world, like instantly, because like all of the A, W stuff is now gone from new Japan world.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_00]: No one's watching that.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's probably the other end.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_00]: Which actually to be fair with one of the things I was curious about, because one of the things, one of the like elephants in the room, I don't know if that's a fair way of describing it, that we haven't touched on yet, is the fact that like cyborate or a B-marader is currently
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: hosting all, like, WE content in Japan.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_00]: But that's gonna change in a couple of months.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think in September, it's like when like nets basically, all of the WE content moves to netflix as well in Japan.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_00]: So there is kind of this like big WEE shaped content whole on a BIMA that needs to be filled somehow.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that again is one of the motivations for like cyber agent doing this New Japan investment.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_00]: Because they have a couple hours of content that they know need to fill that like WEE is to fill.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_00]: So plugging in New Japan makes a lot of sense and also be New Japan's gonna draw better ratings than WEE did for them.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: But then the other thing is like,
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: Again, that's one of the things that I don't have any idea about like what the future is of like the whole like AW New Japan relationship and like TBSI and AW because if that is still a thing I wouldn't be surprised if like like there is kind of some sort of like
- 32:19[SPEAKER_00]: like A, W on a B, or some sort of like my A, W, like membership plan, you can buy like through a B, or something like that as well.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, like I don't know what you think about like the whole like A, W new Japan relationship if that gets like affected by this as well, or if that's like a likelihood that if they stick around, like you know, that it could then get transition to a B man instead.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_04]: I think it stays as it is.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think it's going to be ending any time.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_04]: Because this is all about the relationship between the people, like between Tony Khan and Hiroshi Talahashi and Gedo and Rocky Romero, like that's the backbone of the relationship between the two companies.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, I don't expect that to change.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_04]: It's just unfortunate with the timing that a lot of people saw.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_04]: this, this sale go through and then seeing all the AW content pulled from New Japan world thinking, oh, oh, something's up here, but I think it was just co-incidence given that AW about to launch this, my AW thing.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, I mean, that could definitely just be part of this wrestle portfolio thing where, um, wrestling fans, as you know, like I said, a huge discount if they're buying all of this stuff in bulk from a beam, like I certainly see that playing out,
- 33:31[SPEAKER_04]: to be ending any time soon.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yeah, final.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well my question was going to be given the difference in the sort of ownership structures with Nigerian being a subsidiary of TV asahi and not cyberagent or cyberfight.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_04]: How do you expect cyberagent to invest in Nigerian, financially relative to busherode, like what changes if any do you expect to see for the Nigerian now that cyberagent has got this stake in the company?
- 34:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like, okay, so I already mentioned that I do expect New Japan World to stick around, because also quite simply, well, TVSAR, he knows fully owns New Japan World.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like, why would TVSAR, he basically fully take over the revenue now of New Japan World and then kill the platform to move it all to Russell Universe, which is a platform they do not own?
- 34:26[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't make any sense to me, but what I could see is maybe a beam are providing some support, or maybe they do like they also turn like New Japan world into like another TVSI, like cyber agent, joint venture as well.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_00]: Again, that's a possibility I could say, but I could definitely see them like maybe provide like some technical support to New Japan world to like make it better.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_00]: Um, another thing I could see them is like improved like life event production as well as I mentioned before like right like Noah for a while that I had like the highest production values and like all of wrestling.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_00]: And even while it don't expect maybe New Japan to get like that same level of like money poured into them to build like insanely elaborate sets.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: I could still see there being like a bump up and like production values just like in general for like bigger shows as well because I think that was like kind of a more notable thing and like the later years of the Bushy Road era where it was very clear that they weren't really willing to do any big investments in like New Japan anymore.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe we could also see
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: where maybe now they will actually be able to compete for some of the higher-end front talent, but they're still not going to be able.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_00]: to like pay like to like the same level that like WEE or like AWS, like able to like pay talent, but maybe this will actually like push them, like into a range, but it can at least make like, you know, somebody think, like, okay, I am like a big focus in this company.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_00]: And I make like a little less money than I would and like AWWEE.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_00]: but it's at least comparable and also I get to live in Japan and I don't have to move to fucking Florida.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_00]: So that's something I could see happen as well.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_04]: or even I was just thinking, bringing over big names on short-term deals, I've heard reports of various AW talent, for example, saying that they'd be really happy to work G1, and Tony Kahn is happy if that's going to happen, but New Japan have not, just because they can't afford it, or they're not willing to spend the money on it.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_04]: So it just could be a case of,
- 36:59[SPEAKER_04]: You know, like bring it over, I don't know, like ricochet or swears trickling or whatever to work a G1 or getting J White to come back for a few dates or more will operate dates or, you know, maybe even a card comes back with a few matches given that kiddoheries out the pictures.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_04]: I think, yeah, not even just like, oh, we are going to sign this message to a full-term contract and they're going to be working every single show, but bringing people in just for short runs where money has been a prohibitive factor in that, or even just more aggressive talent recruitment across the independent circuits and mix going things like that.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, I think it's fair, would you say it's fair to expect a bit more money on the table with cyberagin?
- 37:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no I do think that's fair.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think I think not just Syra agent.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_00]: Also TVSR.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: He is well, right like it's they just announced this whole new like 2027 to 2029 strategy and how they want to like have more global outreach as well
- 37:57[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and again, then mentioning like New Japan, like, it seems like New Japan very much, like, because they just announced a strategy, and then they do this, like, acquisition.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it seems very much that New Japan is kind of a cornerstone of that strategy, because New Japan already has, like, good reach outside of Japan, like, especially for, like, a non-animate Japanese entertainment product, right?
- 38:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like, because,
- 38:25[SPEAKER_00]: Japan has a lot of good entertainment like outreach in the world there right now, but I think in terms of like
- 38:32[SPEAKER_00]: But a lot of it is anime and like outside of that it gets a bit more fined pretty quickly.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_00]: So making New Japan a part of that does make a lot of sense.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: And but if you want to keep that up especially in the face of like two major American companies just being able to just spread like just to like spend and say in money because money isn't really anymore and like US TV market.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_00]: To be able to keep up with that, at least, some what you do need to make an investment.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: At the fact that they like increase their stake and what willing to make that investment tells me that they're then also willing to like make further investments into the company.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_00]: Because it doesn't make sense that you've been invested in this company for years.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_00]: And a fact that you're willing to up the stake and make it a subsidiary, if you aren't, then also willing to like invest major money to grow this business even more.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_00]: Because well, why did you do the purchase
- 39:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and they're starting to put them in prime time TV slots, so you wouldn't do that if this was something you're trying to hide away, you know, would be absolutely in their interest to pump a bit of money and it to make it look and sound better, so yeah, I've already touched on like it will be lovely to see
- 39:57[SPEAKER_04]: So, vibration and TBSR, he co-own a beamer.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_04]: So, in terms of the balance, the work and relationship between those two companies, we don't foresee any issues there with, you know, huge amount of being torn between two masters.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_04]: That's a pretty harmonious relationship between the two companies.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, they both operate separate spheres.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_04]: You've got a cyber agent with the kind of digital online streaming element of it, and then TBSR here with, like, the threshold TV side of it.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_04]: So, no issues to be foreseen there.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: No, I mean, you never know with companies like this, it's like a pretty long term relationship.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_00]: And as you said, it don't really have a lot of like clashing interests, right?
- 40:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like TVSI is still very much like a classic like terrestrial.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_00]: like TV kind of like classic like media company, obviously they have like a few more like internet offerings as well because you have to have them.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_00]: But it is very much a case of like no like it's like
- 40:57[SPEAKER_00]: TVSI is the classic media company, and a cyber agent is like the new media company, and they do kind of like operate in those three as well.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, ironically enough, finally enough, it's, you know how like, under like Bouchy Road, they would always like shill like all of the like card games and the like Bouchy Road Gacha games and all of that.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I at first, my first reaction was like, oh, that's probably gonna like go away now.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_00]: And then I realized, yeah, no, wait a minute.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: Cyber-aged owns like cyber games, which is like a major publisher of like Gacha games, in Japan, especially like stuff like like the like a horse girl game, Uma Musume.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_00]: So, I don't know, maybe we've got to see no heart for great icon is what you're saying.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, that's the thing, great icon is just gonna like have to shift like,
- 41:52[SPEAKER_00]: his thing from like selling the like bushy road stuff to like be like oh yeah no I really love gold ship now instead like that that's going to be the change now as a first.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_00]: He's still going to be all of our key harbards just in like different part of our key harbards now.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_04]: like easy transition from, I think I know the answer to this, but I've got to ask anyway, do you expect to see any increased collaboration between New Japan, Noah and DDT, or Talent Exchange, and I will also caveat with this.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_04]: Remember how great it was with Suzuki Goon, we're Noah, how about take House of Torture?
- 42:26[SPEAKER_00]: How about you take Team 2,000 next, which is just part of Torture, but slightly less annoying.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_00]: So, send them both the DDT.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, here's the thing, I thought about that as well, and my immediate thing was like, oh, what if there was a no oracle in the dream one?
- 42:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, well, that's, like, is that really something to you?
- 42:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like, Kaito was Kaito Kiyomiya was in the dream one, what two years ago?
- 42:55[SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, exactly nothing new.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they already are, they already are, like, partners in many ways.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's like, oh, what if like,
- 43:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like New Japan, since the young boy over to know, I just did that before Eva.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what happened to you.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_04]: What about if you turn in DDT, did a crossover, wacky show with maybe Yano and Super Assassin?
- 43:19[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, I don't know.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_00]: Or what if, like, you know, like a major wrestler from DDT, also signs a contract with New Japan?
- 43:27[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's already the case.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_00]: So that's not much of a change.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_00]: maybe, or if like, I don't know, Eugene Nagada works like and DDT show.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's, I don't know, there's just that much appetite for it.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_04]: If they would say, and now it's now like a big, kind of super show crossover between Noah and New Japan and DDT, I'm not sure any of the fans of those individual promotions would be that keen on it, so I don't really see the upside in it.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: No, and like, I only if that would have like, actual like, major matches on it, right?
- 44:03[SPEAKER_00]: Because otherwise, like what's really that much of a difference between that and like what we already have with the like United Japan shows like if they just announced a show and it's a bunch of six mental acts was like well I can just watch the United Japan show or well in theory I could watch the United Japan show if you know it was uploaded anywhere.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, like if it was more something like sci-bified festival, I would actually be up for like a return of the sci-bified festival.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: I actually kind of miss it.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: What was that?
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I mentioned this earlier.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: This was like the big crossover show between like Noah, DDT, and Tokyo, Joshi Pro.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_00]: So again, that one went the way a couple years ago.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_00]: I would be up if it came back.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_00]: But again,
- 44:54[SPEAKER_00]: So do you want to know who was like the main event of the first sciabified festival?
- 45:01[SPEAKER_00]: Well, please tell.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_00]: It was now Michi Marifuji versus Satoshi Kudrima.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, really, dream match there.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_00]: But it's also like again, it's a new-to-feng guy in that match already, so it's not even like they were again, not that much of a bit strange to what we've already had anyway.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_00]: So that's again, like it seems like such a major transaction, but it feels like it's more of a major transaction that won't actually change the actual booking status quo all that much.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think it will have an impact on the way the New Japan office is run, I guess.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_00]: But don't think it's going to have much of an impact on the booking, at least not immediately.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: And then in terms of corporations, well, New Japan is already working with DDT and NOAA.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe we'll see more of that.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_00]: But it's not like we don't already have that.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't know if it really makes that much of a difference, if we have, like, if you have, actually, you know what would actually be a major one, it's like, I don't know if it's, like, nitro and boochy work tag league or something, but as no or restless instead of as, like, new Japan restless.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, see, that's a tricky one, isn't it?
- 46:28[SPEAKER_04]: Because I think there's still a bit of lingering resentment from night-own bushy tours in New Japan.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if it's mutual.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_04]: So I don't think it's something like...
- 46:38[SPEAKER_04]: a business partnership between parent companies is the stumbling block to that happening.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_00]: What just because he came out as like the final guy on like New Japan's biggest shore of the year we didn't force them to also play his new film and also force them to give a spot to his body as well.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_00]: What a worker.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_04]: I'm amazing.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_04]: How no fans feel about all this like is this good news or bad news or just neutral news for them?
- 47:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think for most people that would fall into like neutral there are definitely people that are a bit anxious about this because as I pointed out, it's relatively similar styles between New Japan and now so obviously if you had to make a call that you only wanted to keep one of them you would keep New Japan because it's the bigger company.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_00]: It really wouldn't be a point in keeping the smaller company around.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_00]: But for me, it's again, the fact that it is a TVSR, he subsidiary means that Abima is fine, keeping like running Noah still.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so to me, I think again, generally it falls for like basically in the categories of neutral to negative, but I would say the majority would be more neutral.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I've just played everything that I've read, and people I've spoken to and listened to you.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_04]: It just seems like for the time being business is huge.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not expecting any Titanic sea changes.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_04]: It just seems like a content acquisition for a Beamer and just a consolidation for TBSR.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_04]: He's what they're already heavily involved in.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_04]: Do you have any worries about it?
- 48:22[SPEAKER_04]: And I wouldn't go as far as to say,
- 48:25[SPEAKER_04]: monopolization, but obviously this is a very large media conglomeration, owning three of the larger wrestling companies in Japan.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_04]: Do you have any concerns about that?
- 48:37[SPEAKER_00]: No, I mean, that is definitely a concern.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_00]: Again, it kind of depends how much they'll actually be involved and like running new Japan going forward.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_00]: It is definitely a worry to see them kind of like,
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: gain a monopoly slowly but surely because a monopoly is always bad, like even if they keep a bunch of different brands around, again that's only the strategy for right now, right?
- 49:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you have like let's say in theory like they would be able to like buy up like most of the rest of like Japanese wrestling and then get like an effective like monopoly,
- 49:15[SPEAKER_00]: Um, again, then they could kind of like slowly but surely like squeeze out everybody else.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_00]: Or we would get to a stage where let's like, they own like, they own everything bacon and maybe if at that point they will be like, well, why do we have free separate like men's free or four like different like men's wrestling companies maybe we should just consolidate them into like one big like Japanese pro wrestling company.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_00]: Um, that definitely would be bad.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, I don't know if that is a thing.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of hard to say right now because that would obviously and entail them also then eventually, like I would definitely be more worried about that if they had actually, if they were the actual, like, monopoly owner of the actual majority owner of New Japan now.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_00]: And also if they had announced it as like cyber agent is the one that's running new Japan and not TV as a he because I think then that definitely would be a lot more of an indicator of them trying to consolidate the market.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's still something that they might do in the future, but it's just I don't know it's it's so hard to really get a good read on that situation right now.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that was all the questions that I have for years.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_04]: Is there anything I'm covered that you think is important to mention?
- 50:37[SPEAKER_00]: Um, actually one thing because we were talking kind of earlier bit about like, you know, like roster crossover and everything and actually something I just thought of is as I mentioned right, like it has, it like recently it has become Junta Miyawaki, sorry, I just remember the name of the guy that went from the word to D. D. We had recently seen like right like
- 51:08[SPEAKER_00]: You know, maybe jumping from DDT to Noah, but that's a bit more unclear.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_00]: I actually would be curious if, actually we don't just see, like, you know, New Japan restless pop-up or Noah shows or Noah restless pop-up or New Japan shows, but if we could actually see like outright like traits of talents like that between the companies now as well, where, you know, like, let's say like, because the one that immediately comes to my mind,
- 51:38[SPEAKER_00]: is, Kaito Kiyomiya goes to New Japan and Roya Uiwa goes to NOAA, because let's be real.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_00]: Like, they were booked so much better in the, like, respective other company.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like, New Japan did such a better job at booking Kaito than NOAA has ever done, but like, NOAA did such a better job booking Oiwa than, like, New Japan has ever done.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm curious if do you think that's something that could happen in the future and who would be somebody that you would want to see go from either DDT or Noah to New Japan and who would you kind of like not as in terms of like, oh, I want to send like the worst guy, but like some guy that you would think maybe would do better in another company.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think if it's just for like a short term thing to give them something to do like a kind of mini excursion if they're not featured into any.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_04]: Let singles or tag team title book in plans.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_04]: just to give us something to do and to help them along with their growth, I think oil will be a good one.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_04]: Again, if he's not figured into any plans to be in either the IWGP heavyweight title scene or the global title or the tag titles, if they've got nothing for him, then and it's not kind of overlapping with a serious tournament like the G1 climate, so obviously I think they would want some or not over in the G1, but certainly like post G1 in that season where there's
- 53:10[SPEAKER_04]: Super Junior tagly, that could certainly be a point where New Japan might think, you know, we're not using these guys.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_04]: It's this sense one or two of them over to know.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_04]: I could certainly see that for sure.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yeah, but not any kind of like, you know, permanent like teller trades essentially.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_04]: No, I don't think so.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yeah, no, that really was like them.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_00]: main one.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_00]: I had let me think if I had any other questions about like the new Japan side of it, but you kind of like touched on everything there.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_00]: They are already, so no, I don't have any questions either.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_00]: Awesome.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_04]: Well, thank you very much for your time, Paul.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_04]: We've done all the plugs already, so we won't re-guide to take that.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, thank you, everyone for listening, so you've jacass listeners, emerald flow show listeners, and we'll catch you next time.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_03]: Well hello everyone.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_03]: I hope you enjoyed the discussion between Paul and Joel.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_03]: It's drug here and I'm going to give my little impressions and feelings and thoughts about New Japan being acquired by TV Asahi and Cyber Agent.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_03]: I have actually, I haven't listened to what Paul and Joel had to talk about, not because I don't want to, but I've been trying to avoid
- 54:26[SPEAKER_03]: listening to other people's takes with the only exception as I did read the observer on this this week.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_03]: And it seems that basically Bushy Road doesn't want to invest the money to basically rebuild.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_03]: a new Japan and decided to sell instead, which is interesting little thought and also what happens when the inevitable startup downturn happens does bushy road then sell it instead of trying to rebuild it.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_03]: But so my first initial impression is that this is probably going to be good for new Japan.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they could screw it up if they pick someone even worse than ghetto as a booker or something along those lines because you have TV a saw he backing obviously and they're
- 55:07[SPEAKER_03]: are live TV or at least on the main channel I think it is or the main satellite channel in better timeslot anyways whatever it is it's better timeslot they do that with Russell Kingdom this year and they're going to do that again with Dominion.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_03]: And it may happen, you know, going forward on the big shows.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, I think that's fine.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_03]: I think they're probably going to, and it's crazy to say this since he debuted less than six months ago, but they're probably obviously going to try it.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_03]: TV is so he's obviously going to leave the charge to rehabilitate Aaron Wolfe.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_03]: And be interesting to see if they think, you know, you're the Suji still worth pushing, Yumura, Umino, or, you know, do they go with Udo, Udo, I Su seems to, you know, has had a strong run since he's returned.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_03]: So that will be interesting, but the real things that I'm going to focus on is, what happens to Noah, affected by all of this, and even all Japan.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so we'll start with Noah because now they're basically, uh, family of promotions obviously though cyber fight or cyber agent only owns 46% of the shares and TBSA he, with the other 46, but it seems that probably TBSA is going to be sort of, it feels like leaving the charger probably shaping most of the direction.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_03]: but here's the thing and I'm thinking about this.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know though how good this necessarily would be for Noah because if you go back and you think about things to me with a possible exception of the Suzuki Gunaira in Noah there is less of a difference in presentation and quality and what you know just the content over the product being offered by Noah compared to a new
- 56:55[SPEAKER_03]: Honestly, interfearing with Team 2,000 X and everything like that.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_03]: And it wasn't even if you go back three, four, five years.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_03]: No, it was a clear alternative, especially in their main events when you had guys like, you know, cano and go and knock the jima and suguera was still more, spending more time in the main events that he does now seems to be finally downcycled.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_03]: But they had that.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_03]: crazy, like hard hitting stiff as hell, like these, you know, often 45 minutes at fix and everything like that.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_03]: That was, you know, something very different than New Japan, not that New Japan had, you know, short main events.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_03]: They had long main events too, you know, people will talk about stylistically, the infamous New Japan dance towards finishers and everything like that.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_03]: So there was a clear difference at the top, right?
- 57:51[SPEAKER_03]: this crazy hard-hitting style, you know, it's obviously going to be subjective in what which you prefer, I think I did prefer that Noah style a lot more, but whatever it is, it's different orientation, right?
- 58:05[SPEAKER_03]: And that's important when you're trying to stick out in a especially in a wrestling scene with this many promotions.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_03]: So the question is what's the point of Noah right now given its current direction given whoever's booking and people seem to think it's
- 58:20[SPEAKER_03]: or at least other people have more power and so, you know, I don't see what the point of Noah is unless they want to like, you know, you can tear up the booking sheets for Noah right now and go into another direction and that would give Noah relevance, but I think it's going to be a lot harder.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_03]: with Noah's current direction to differentiate itself.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_03]: And so the question is, if, you know, a saahi and saver, you can go and say, like, we're lacking, we need more bodies in, in, in, in New Japan, obviously because they were, they were looking for people for the junior heavyweight division.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_03]: Did they start picking from Noah and even maybe even DDT with someone like, I don't know, you, Kiwano, just added the example, obviously there's guys in, in DDT that, um, I'm not going to be a fit for New Japan, but there's a lot more guys in Noah that could be.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_03]: theoretically right so the question is do you send kill me over do you even send cano over etc right to sort of spice things up that's the easiest if you want to do a new Japan versus no a feud this or you know something to get hype and exciting doing a new Japan versus no feud would be the easiest way to do that right because then you could easily right and you could book it anyway you want there's no politics ultimately I mean maybe
- 59:35[SPEAKER_03]: TBS Ahian and Cyborage in may have some different opinions on who will go over in a match.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what the politics will be But it's going to be a lot easier than if it was too completely Unrelenting ownership trying to do into a promotional thing, right?
- 59:48[SPEAKER_03]: So I could see
- 59:55[SPEAKER_03]: a future where this is not good for no.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_03]: It seems crazy.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Noah is obviously younger than like half the almost half the age of basically new Japan or all Japan.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_03]: But it does have a legacy IP I suppose if you want to call it that I think I will probably be using that term in my discussion here.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_03]: So to me the question sort of is what's the point of no or right now because right now you know a couple of days ago before this this deal was announced like I was beginning to wonder to myself what
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_03]: is the point of Noah.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_03]: I just have completely lost interest in this company more so than any time it's history, even during some of the more dog days, you know, if you want to go back to Suzuki Gun era, I probably still thought I was better.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_03]: And even in some of those quiet, like, I mean, the couple years post Suzuki Gun just as Kaito was trying to get heated up.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_03]: Some people thought those were also very dog days.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_03]: And really some of those attendants were awful.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_03]: You'd see
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_03]: But, you know, you still had Nakhachima, go had returned, etc.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_03]: There was still something for me, at least, to keep me in Noah, even if, you know, it wasn't the most dynamic booking or anything like that.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, Noah's rise to heavyweight status, right?
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_03]: So there were things happening, and that direction did start to pay off.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_03]: And then cyber agent bought Noah.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_03]: So, but now, I don't know what Noah is.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_03]: It's closer to New Japan.
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like they have more closer to New Japan and presentation,
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_03]: And what their company is that more so than any time in its history, and so that's why it's just like, I don't know why this would be good for Noah and you need new bodies and New Japan and presumably even if you do go with the inter promotional stuff, baby, you could get, you know, Noah some shock winds at the beginning to give it some hype, but I mean, ultimately,
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_03]: business wise that I mean you still have to have new Japan win that that interpromotional battle I think right that makes the most business sense because that is your main your crown jewel you can still far far ahead of Noah even despite Noah sort of gains in the last couple of years you know I think maybe sometimes it's overstated the real right so I just I don't know I just don't that maybe because it's how Dan I am on Noah right now it's like
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_03]: It makes sense to just stick a bunch of no way into New Japan going forward.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_03]: So, to go with Aljapan, I think this is very interesting because I feel like there's multiple paths here.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_03]: There are good opportunities for Aljapan.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_03]: There are some like...
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_03]: not so good scenarios for all Japan.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll start with the worst scenario for all Japan, I think, get that out of the way.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_03]: This company could basically pick away any talent that it wanted out of all Japan.
- 1:02:53[SPEAKER_03]: They could look and say, well, sure, we could send Kido Kimi to know all, but, you know, he's far less damaged goods than this emerging celebrity of human anxiety, fresh off the bachelorette.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_03]: and everything like that.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_03]: And be like, we're going to sign Anzae, we're going to sign Tento, right?
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_03]: He's in play.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_03]: They could offer him a big fact check for that.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_03]: The Aoyaki brothers are in play, you know, and I'd probably probably rising high at oh and they're two guys to stick in their junior division that they need.
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_03]: So to me, them just coming and and offering a bunch of money to all Japan's top names.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_03]: Anzae, me, a hara, the Aoyaki brothers, I think would probably
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_03]: That's like the worst case scenario in my mind, right?
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, obviously there's great it.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_03]: Great.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_03]: So this I think losing either Anzile or Kento would be pretty disastrous losing Anzile because then who becomes, you know, who replaces Kento as the ace, the Ayrly Aguier brothers, you could probably weather it, you know, if it's long to slide.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_03]: Kento and Anza and losing Kento would probably be a pretty darn big blow, but I actually think at this point as Kento approaches 40 years old, I think losing Anza would be the bigger long term blow the question is, you know, would Fakuto want to why they're the first little bit without
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_03]: me a harer because that's going to be an incident hit that probably could be recovered from given what we've seen probably anxiety booking uh sorry attendance wise what anxiety brought to the company so you know that's so little is like the worst case scenarios that they start picking away the top talent in algebra pan uh because they think like you know no our kielmian and keno
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_03]: Osawa, whatever, our damage goods are just not what they're looking for, and they would prefer someone like Anzair Miyahara.
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_03]: In terms of the positives, I think there's opportunities here, because since you're sort of like headed towards a huge, like,
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_03]: You know, almost monopolistic structure of Japanese professional wrestling because, you know, what, what's the next big promotion outside of now what's under the cyber agent umbrella is going to be started.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_03]: And as part of this deal, you know, the IWGP women's title is going to continue to exist.
- 1:05:13[SPEAKER_03]: This is how I'm going to continue to work.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_03]: with New Japan, at least for now, and I would assume that the starm is going to continue to work with Yeah, AEW, because tarot codis seems to get along with Tony Conne, well.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, that's that alliance is in ownership over there, leaving, it's also paying the biggest company outside, man, you could argue, Dragon Gate, although, you know, for the season Dragon Gate Watcher, they really don't like what's going on right now.
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_03]: But I'm sure I have a relatively say feeling that Dragon Gate will survive, but other elements of the scene do not seem so well, I mean, I think there was that really I think was it 383 something that big Japan just drew their latest cork in mind, there was no strong title match on that show, but still that's it at this time.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_03]: That's not a good sign, so the question is, you know, is there an opportunity for algebra, and I just do an opportunity to all Japan, but that would depend on a couple of things.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_03]: A, there's already was an opportunity for all Japan around Anzai and building him up, right?
- 1:06:15[SPEAKER_03]: And continuing where that's going, and I think that's that's good, apart from any sort of threats about, you know, that poaching from New Japan, notwithstanding.
- 1:06:27[SPEAKER_03]: And I think with that, you sort of stay the course.
- 1:06:30[SPEAKER_03]: But, you know, since things are shaken up, you know, I think what Al-Japan should do is that obviously they were in isolation for a while.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_03]: And we think for Kudo has made me the reason for that.
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_03]: But they need to, and they started working again with Drayinget, which is great, and that's been great, apart from the strange looking, with Indraginget of the Al-Jatag, that titles, but the actual inter promotional Drayinget versus Al-Japan stuff has been great.
- 1:06:56[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, you continue with that alliance, you're strengthening it if anything.
- 1:07:00[SPEAKER_03]: And you should probably try to work more with the other companies.
- 1:07:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, with big Japan, with 2AW, although that's not coming from right kind of, I think the success from all Japan.
- 1:07:11[SPEAKER_03]: And frankly, look, the politics are rods and rocky, but you might kind of want to see if you can patch things up.
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_03]: because I think working was 0-1 could be fruitful and obviously each side has guys with heat, Nakadeema has heat with all Japan and
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_03]: Of course, Ghost Shiozaki has heat with zero one.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, is that the imbridgeable chasm between these two companies?
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_03]: I, well, I mean, this is professional wrestling, right?
- 1:07:42[SPEAKER_03]: It may take more time.
- 1:07:43[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, for all we, she may maybe headed back to Dragon Gate for retirement match at some point for all we know, that seems to be far more likely or than it was a year ago.
- 1:07:54[SPEAKER_03]: Um, never say never and I think under these business circumstances, the non cyber agent companies or cyber agent aligned companies, which I would put, start them into that at this point.
- 1:08:07[SPEAKER_03]: They need to band together, um, big Japan to a W, that some of the, uh, jewelry promotions are interesting because obviously, you know, all of that stuff, like, um,
- 1:08:19[SPEAKER_03]: Sendai and Marvos and Mari Gold, all air on, on Russell universe.
- 1:08:25[SPEAKER_03]: So that's sort of an interesting thing.
- 1:08:26[SPEAKER_03]: But again, I mean, startup is still, you know, a distinct independent company, right?
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_03]: So those companies will probably be fine continuing to do their thing.
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_03]: It's the main companies that would be a little more worry about.
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_03]: And again,
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_03]: to a W would also fall under to the, you know, hey, New Japan could sign guys away, but I don't think those companies have a lot less, you know, to me, Kento and Anzai would be the top prizes basically to be signed away from outside of cyber Asian, you know, I, you love them, but I don't think Junior Matsunaga is going to get signed and my New Japan and even if you, the offer to them something, you know, he's not going to be a top guy.
- 1:09:11[SPEAKER_03]: Of course, the money is going to be a lot better.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_03]: and everything like that, I just don't see it happening even to bring them in on the undercard.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_03]: So I think cooperation is key for the non-ciber agent aligned companies for sure.
- 1:09:25[SPEAKER_03]: I would like to see that.
- 1:09:26[SPEAKER_03]: So sort of like, most of the major part is the United Japan are now on the same company, right?
- 1:09:33[SPEAKER_03]: So maybe you need a, basically, a non-ciber agent working industry group.
- 1:09:40[SPEAKER_03]: basically to represent their interests, right, as the non-Siber Agent aligned companies.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_03]: Now, New Japan can continue on its growth.
- 1:09:52[SPEAKER_03]: But I think it could engineer more growth if, for example, you know, cyber-agent and TV-Sahimic really stupid choices in New Japan fails to build.
- 1:10:02[SPEAKER_03]: I kind of think this is unlikely, but not impossible.
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_03]: And that would of course give even more sort of runway space for I take off for algebra pan.
- 1:10:12[SPEAKER_03]: But you know, the fundamental already are having good in that direction.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just thinking that, you know, if this sort of goes nowhere, then more space opens up.
- 1:10:22[SPEAKER_03]: But again, like this is where, you know, and I've said this many times on this company about this company.
- 1:10:29[SPEAKER_03]: It would be great if someone other corporate entity came in and
- 1:10:35[SPEAKER_03]: And maybe with TV Asahi now moving in and cyber, is it moving in on New Japan?
- 1:10:40[SPEAKER_03]: All Japan as a legacy IP becomes more attractive to some other company that's looking for content, right?
- 1:10:46[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's not going to cost very much.
- 1:10:48[SPEAKER_03]: Like could this company and you get a ring and you get these contracts and you got an office and you get a dojo.
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_03]: and you'll go home, I believe it is where the dojo is.
- 1:10:58[SPEAKER_03]: You know, is it gonna be worth more than $5 million?
- 1:11:01[SPEAKER_03]: It might be less, it might be like, little over $2 million.
- 1:11:04[SPEAKER_03]: So let's say between $25 million, you get an butting star in, and I can't tell you how to establish a name that you can market.
- 1:11:14[SPEAKER_03]: And we obviously, brother is even the shadow brothers, of course, although they seem to have cooled off outside of the sendai as sort of cross over appeal.
- 1:11:22[SPEAKER_03]: But still, they have their value.
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 1:11:26[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, you get that with a very little sort of a initial investment, although you're going to want to invest more for production values and you're going to want to then then if you were.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_03]: I was wealthy and I bought all the pen.
- 1:11:40[SPEAKER_03]: I'd go raid the Indies as well.
- 1:11:42[SPEAKER_03]: Like, you know, to be completely honest with you, you know, probably raid the zero one and take like, Matsunaga and that sort of thing to be honest with you.
- 1:11:54[SPEAKER_03]: But, you know, that's just, that's just that opening.
- 1:11:56[SPEAKER_03]: If, um, other companies in Japan see what's going on with the wrestling and they want to get in on it.
- 1:12:01[SPEAKER_03]: And,
- 1:12:02[SPEAKER_03]: you know, for content for whatever, just the prestige of owning it because, you know, side of fight was never particularly money making.
- 1:12:11[SPEAKER_03]: If, although I think they've got the losses down, have been declining on side of the fight, but, you know, it's such a small chunk of change for a couple of the says, so I were agent that some of it almost seems to just be like prestige, like we're in the wrestling business type.
- 1:12:26[SPEAKER_03]: This was in their wrestling business and everything like that.
- 1:12:30[SPEAKER_03]: So to me, those are sort of the past that I'll Japan, you know, I mean, there's also the third path where all Japan just continues on it on its current trajectory, which is a good trajectory.
- 1:12:39[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, nothing much changes, but there's like, there's a lane for even accelerating success.
- 1:12:45[SPEAKER_03]: And there's a lane for like being picked dry by new Japan sort of thing.
- 1:12:50[SPEAKER_03]: And again, I don't really know.
- 1:12:53[SPEAKER_03]: I guess if I had to pick the most likely, they would just stay on their current
- 1:13:00[SPEAKER_03]: They're not going to get into the accelerating lane unless someone with more money or even maybe for Kudo himself wants to dump more money with it or they get buying corporate and of course, you know, getting rated by a new cyber agent, Sasha, New Japan.
- 1:13:15[SPEAKER_03]: Because if they were going to be going, those guys would be going to New Japan.
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure it's the most likely scenario.
- 1:13:20[SPEAKER_03]: But if you know, cyber agent and TBSA, he decide that, you know, we need some,
- 1:13:26[SPEAKER_03]: new blood coming in to New Japan.
- 1:13:29[SPEAKER_03]: It's just easier to get guys and funnel them in from Nella and the guys from DDT that could fit into New Japan send them there.
- 1:13:38[SPEAKER_03]: And oh another thing I forgot to mention, as I close out here, about the rest to New Japan is, yeah, New Japan has got it's, you know, fair share, young girl got younger than this new three Musketeer generation.
- 1:13:52[SPEAKER_03]: Look, you're co-safewed Gidas.
- 1:13:53[SPEAKER_03]: And you're taking the guys, you know, I know Fuji is not a young boy anymore, and the guy I still young lion.
- 1:14:01[SPEAKER_03]: So that's, that's, those are guys that I think that will benefit from this, but the thing is, and this goes back to my concerns about, no, is they may look like I at Harota,
- 1:14:16[SPEAKER_03]: right to I think stand out young guys in Noah and then of course there's um you a water that's in his European excursion and they may say hey these are the kind of young guys that we want to stick in New Japan because we're not necessarily um pleased with all of the younger talent and we just want more in there that could maybe break out right so
- 1:14:39[SPEAKER_03]: Again, you know, I got, those are the, these are these little things that I, I'm not even little, but it uses the things that concern me about where Noah is going to fit in all of this.
- 1:14:51[SPEAKER_03]: So something up is I think the biggest threats are to Noah and then then to Al Jepan.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_03]: You know, of course the worst case scenario for both companies could come true.
- 1:15:02[SPEAKER_03]: Could come true in that Noah and Al Jepan get picked drive by New Japan.
- 1:15:05[SPEAKER_03]: I'll go, I think,
- 1:15:07[SPEAKER_03]: At certain point, there would be a limit to how many people that they're going to sign, right?
- 1:15:11[SPEAKER_03]: Even if they have all this money here, you're not going to have anything to do for them to do, right?
- 1:15:15[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah.
- 1:15:16[SPEAKER_03]: And, uh, well, look, you know, if Noah goes on, maybe we will be saved by, uh, a tattoo for more than two a night, although, because, you know, they could, uh, give him offer him up a new contract, I think, in, uh, new Japan now that, uh, would look out a lot more attractive than whatever.
- 1:15:34[SPEAKER_03]: New Japan was offering them now or maybe a cyber agent and TBS saw he will look take one look at what he's doing and what he can do right now and say no so it would not shock me if nighto was not long for Noah as well actually that's a good point that I just actually just thought about well I was recording this but yeah I would bet that nighto is going to go back to New Japan now it depending on how long or you can rep type thing so
- 1:16:03[SPEAKER_03]: You know, the question is how long will, um, well, I think given the state that New Japan's in the public will strike fast, regardless of what they choose to do and how to restructure it and how to rebuild it.
- 1:16:13[SPEAKER_03]: So, so we'll have a very good sense of, uh, this how damaging this is going to be to either know our algebra, or even beneficial, although I don't really see how it becomes beneficial to know other than, uh,
- 1:16:24[SPEAKER_03]: You know, maybe at Noah versus New Japan feud, but again, I said why that just makes more business for New Japan to win that feud and that's not going to help Noah.
- 1:16:34[SPEAKER_03]: So I do think Noah will be the biggest loser and all Japan remains to be seen, but there's definitely, you know, room for things to improve for all Japan.
- 1:16:42[SPEAKER_03]: Is it a rising tide of saw boats of New Japan gets hot again?
- 1:16:45[SPEAKER_03]: I think so depends though on what all Japan has to offer.
- 1:16:52[SPEAKER_03]: Right, and that's going to be about building around Anzai, I think.
- 1:16:56[SPEAKER_03]: So those are my thoughts on the sale.
- 1:17:00[SPEAKER_03]: It's a big one.
- 1:17:01[SPEAKER_03]: It's one of the most significant pieces of news to come out of Pearl in quite some time, it probably since cyber age and acquiring, oh, just in terms of how and that really did change the landscape in a lot of ways.
- 1:17:19[SPEAKER_03]: All right, I guess I really didn't talk about DDT, but DDT is DDT, right?
- 1:17:23[SPEAKER_03]: It's precisely because DDT is DDT, that I think it's going to be fine.
- 1:17:28[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think there's going to be a big of a shake up.
- 1:17:31[SPEAKER_03]: And look, even if they took Yuku, Yuelano on Mao, DDT can recover, right?
- 1:17:37[SPEAKER_03]: That's not an issue there.
- 1:17:39[SPEAKER_03]: So I think they are going to be the safest because they offer something very different to know what an algebra pan, so it'll be fine.
- 1:17:49[SPEAKER_03]: So those are my thoughts and we will be covering obviously this in the weeks and months ahead at this big moment and hopefully it's not like a, you know, I mean, since you're heading into almost a monopoly status, that could mean stagnation, but I hope that's not the case.
- 1:18:05[SPEAKER_03]: Regardless of whether that innovation and progress comes from, you know, New Japan getting reinvigorated with investment and money to spend to try to take it back to the heights that
- 1:18:20[SPEAKER_03]: All Japan's and zero ones are dry and gates saying oh shit we got to do something and then trying to go out there and do the best product that they can so it's an exciting time for wrestling right now in Japan so just you know I've been through many ups and downs so I cannot panic and you know my final thought here as I leave is that.
- 1:18:42[SPEAKER_03]: We are now further than ever.
- 1:18:44[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that WWE destroying the Japanese wrestling scene.
- 1:18:50[SPEAKER_03]: Paul and I will probably talk about this more on the next episode, just to get another victory lap.
- 1:18:56[SPEAKER_03]: Because you just take me in.
- 1:18:57[SPEAKER_03]: Many other victory laps, because many people, smart people thought that this was going to be at when certain WWE announcements have been made regarding Japan over the past couple years, but this was at Apocalyptic, scenario was incoming, but no.
- 1:19:12[SPEAKER_03]: W-W-E is on its way out of a B-Mah.
- 1:19:15[SPEAKER_03]: Later this year we'll be going on to Netflix, like it is, everywhere else, once they're remaining TV contracts, another market's expire, they go to Netflix.
- 1:19:26[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, if anything goes to be seeing more New Japan on a B-Mah, and I would assume that this NOA versus, um,
- 1:19:35[SPEAKER_03]: I know, and WWE relationship is going to, with her way.
- 1:19:38[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they won't even put Oka's talking on TV and stick on just a few largo loop shows here and there.
- 1:19:43[SPEAKER_03]: So once he leaves, I don't see much else of that relationship, but you never know, but I don't think it's worth it and on the other side, right?
- 1:19:52[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, uh, a saw he and uh, it's not going to let
- 1:19:57[SPEAKER_03]: TV Saw, he's not going to like do you get a foot old in Japan now?
- 1:20:01[SPEAKER_03]: That's pretty clear because it's a direct threat to them and they're a major television network.
- 1:20:05[SPEAKER_03]: So that threats over we're taking a victory lab.
- 1:20:08[SPEAKER_03]: If you were a doubter of that the WWE was ever going to screw up Japanese wrestling, you should also be taking a victory lab because a lot of people were really scared and it was one of those mass freakouts that I baffled me, right?
- 1:20:22[SPEAKER_03]: I was so perplexed at it, so we're going to be arrogant and take the guidelines on this one.
- 1:20:28[SPEAKER_03]: On this one anyway, and I don't like to do that, but I just felt so strongly about it.
- 1:20:32[SPEAKER_03]: It's one of those things, which is like, I can't believe so many people are paranoid about this.
- 1:20:35[SPEAKER_03]: So that's why I'm taking a picture of that on this.
- 1:20:37[SPEAKER_03]: All right, folks, so enjoy all of the wrestling out there, and we'll see you soon with talk of this meal global tag league in Noah and all these, all the panch spot shows and leading to the
- 1:20:52[SPEAKER_03]: I woke up this morning to see the news that sounds like Shotara Shino's throne is a name in the ring to challenge for the NWA world's heavyweight championship on Juneteenth.
- 1:21:01[SPEAKER_03]: Assuming against the threw Billy Salas Mason, but he is defending against, I don't know who at the hard times on, I think June 6 of June 8.
- 1:21:11[SPEAKER_03]: So it could be a title change.
- 1:21:15[SPEAKER_03]: That's why they haven't announced Salas Mason for all we know.
- 1:21:17[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway,
