- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:00Speaker 2: It is Verdict with Senator Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with
- 0:03Speaker 2: you as well. And it's so nice to have you
- 0:05Speaker 2: with us on radio stations around the country as well.
- 0:08Speaker 2: If you're joining us, don't forget, we do this show
- 0:10Speaker 2: as a podcast three days a week, so you can
- 0:12Speaker 2: download Verdict with Ted Cruz wherever you get your podcast. Senator,
- 0:16Speaker 2: I got to say, you had a really fun end
- 0:18Speaker 2: of the week as you flew with the president on
- 0:21Speaker 2: Air Force One back to Texas.
- 0:22Speaker 1: That's a great way to get home for the weekend.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I will admit it beats Southwest Airlines. I spent
- 0:32Speaker 3: the whole day with the president. He came back to Texas.
- 0:35Speaker 3: He did a rally. He toured the Peterbilt factory, which
- 0:39Speaker 3: is awesome. I've actually been to it before. I've toured
- 0:41Speaker 3: it before where they build 18 wheelers in North Texas.
- 0:46Speaker 3: And so he got to tour that and meet a
- 0:48Speaker 3: number of the workers. And then he did a rally
- 0:51Speaker 3: speech to the workers. And then he headed off to Oklahoma.
- 0:55Speaker 3: And I came back to Houston, so I'm home in Houston.
- 0:58Speaker 3: It's about midnight Thursday night, and I'm back home in Houston.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Well, it was obviously a really exciting trip. We're going
- 1:05Speaker 2: to get into what you and the president got to
- 1:06Speaker 2: talk about, also about the midterms as well. And we're
- 1:10Speaker 2: also going to talk about something else that was really
- 1:12Speaker 2: a hero's moment, and that was the people that got
- 1:15Speaker 2: involved to save that airplane that was being hijacked by
- 1:19Speaker 2: one of those co-pilots. We're going to deal with all
- 1:20Speaker 2: of that coming up. in just a moment. But before
- 1:23Speaker 2: we get to that, something just happened in Massachusetts, and
- 1:26Speaker 2: most of the country has no idea. The state just
- 1:28Speaker 2: passed a law allowing abortion through the eighth and ninth
- 1:32Speaker 2: months of pregnancy, right up until birth, based on any
- 1:35Speaker 2: reason an abortion doctor gives. No exceptions, no limits. Now,
- 1:40Speaker 2: this could include babies capable of obviously surviving outside the womb.
- 1:44Speaker 2: And under this law, the fact would not stop it.
- 1:48Speaker 2: The law also strips away formally mandatory safety requirements for
- 1:51Speaker 2: abortion providers and removes specific accountability when women are harmed.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Less oversight, less protection, no consequences. Gallup's polling shows that
- 2:01Speaker 2: most Americans, including most who call themselves pro-choice, don't support
- 2:06Speaker 2: abortion this late in pregnancy. This isn't a friend's position.
- 2:10Speaker 2: This is common ground, and Massachusetts just ignored all of it.
- 2:14Speaker 2: And that's why I want you to know about Americans
- 2:15Speaker 2: United for Life. AUL, for more than 50 years, they
- 2:20Speaker 2: have been the legal backbone of the pro-life movement, fighting
- 2:23Speaker 2: in legislatures and courtrooms across the country. They know how
- 2:26Speaker 2: to fight these laws, and they've done it before. And
- 2:28Speaker 2: they're already building the response to what Massachusetts just did. Now,
- 2:33Speaker 2: they can't do it without resources, and that is where
- 2:35Speaker 2: you and I come in. A gift of $ 50 today
- 2:39Speaker 2: will help fund AUL's legal work. their legislative strategy, and
- 2:44Speaker 2: the advocates standing between these babies and a law that
- 2:47Speaker 2: says their lives don't matter. So please go to aul.org
- 2:52Speaker 2: forward slash verdict and give $ 50 today. That's aul.org forward
- 2:59Speaker 2: slash verdict today. All right, so Senator, let's start at
- 3:04Speaker 2: the beginning of this trip. The president was coming to Texas.
- 3:07Speaker 2: That's the fun part. He was coming to tour Texas.
- 3:10Speaker 2: But I have a feeling there was a lot that
- 3:12Speaker 2: you guys talked about even before you got to Texas
- 3:14Speaker 2: on Air Force One.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yeah, there was. So the White House reached out to
- 3:19Speaker 3: me yesterday and invited me to come join the president
- 3:22Speaker 3: and fly down. He was coming down today to campaign
- 3:27Speaker 3: in Texas. And so I joined him at Air Force One.
- 3:30Speaker 3: And so that means the day started, I went to
- 3:33Speaker 3: Andrews Air Force Base, which is where Air Force One
- 3:36Speaker 3: is based. And there were a number of members of
- 3:38Speaker 3: Congress on the trip. So we had James Lankford, Senator
- 3:42Speaker 3: from Oklahoma, was on the trip. And we had a
- 3:44Speaker 3: half dozen Texas House members who were on the trip
- 3:47Speaker 3: as well. And so we all met at Andrews Air
- 3:49Speaker 3: Force Base about an hour before wheels up and boarded
- 3:54Speaker 3: the plane. And then the president takes Marine One, the helicopter,
- 3:58Speaker 3: from the White House to Andrews and boards the plane.
- 4:00Speaker 3: And as soon as the president gets on board, you
- 4:02Speaker 3: take off. And so the trip was actually a very
- 4:07Speaker 3: productive trip. The way Air Force One is set up,
- 4:10Speaker 3: we were not on the new Air Force One. We
- 4:12Speaker 3: were not on the Qatari one, which I was kind
- 4:14Speaker 3: of curious about.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I'm not, yeah. Yeah.
- 4:18Speaker 3: I was kind of curious. I'm not particularly thrilled that
- 4:21Speaker 3: we took the plane from Qatar. I think there's some,
- 4:23Speaker 3: some real security risks and downsides to that. And then
- 4:25Speaker 3: I've detailed those in the past, but I was kind
- 4:28Speaker 3: of curious to see it and see what, uh, uh,
- 4:30Speaker 3: you know, you know, I was sort of, sort of
- 4:32Speaker 3: joking that, that, that I wanted to use the restroom
- 4:34Speaker 3: cause I hadn't seen a solid gold toilet before. Um,
- 4:38Speaker 3: but which I don't know if, I don't know if
- 4:39Speaker 3: that's on the plane or not, but it just seemed
- 4:41Speaker 3: kind of funny that a Qatari plane may well have that. Um,
- 4:45Speaker 3: But we were on the regular Air Force One, actually
- 4:49Speaker 3: the one that my understanding is Nancy Reagan picked out
- 4:54Speaker 3: the carpets and decorated it. So this one became operational
- 4:58Speaker 3: in the 80s. And Air Force One, the Air Force
- 5:03Speaker 3: One that's been in service since then, there's a big
- 5:06Speaker 3: conference room. with a big conference table, and that's where
- 5:10Speaker 3: all the members of Congress were seated. And then in
- 5:13Speaker 3: front of that, there's a smaller room that is a
- 5:17Speaker 3: senior staff room, and they had four of us in there,
- 5:21Speaker 3: which is Senator Lankford and myself, and then Susie Wiles,
- 5:27Speaker 3: President Trump's Chief of Staff, and Howard Lutnick, the Secretary
- 5:31Speaker 3: of Commerce. And so the four of us were in there,
- 5:33Speaker 3: and I will say all the House members came up
- 5:35Speaker 3: there and were razzing us, that we thought we were
- 5:39Speaker 3: too she-she to sit in the conference room. And by
- 5:42Speaker 3: the way, they give you an assigned seat. You don't
- 5:43Speaker 3: pick where to seat. You go in and you have
- 5:45Speaker 3: a little card and you sit where your card is.
- 5:48Speaker 3: And so my immediate response is I said, look, I
- 5:51Speaker 3: can't help it that you guys threw us out of
- 5:53Speaker 3: the conference room. We wanted to hang out with you.
- 5:56Speaker 3: But I said, listen, the Senate, I mean, we're kind
- 5:58Speaker 3: of geriatric. You know, the median age in our body
- 6:00Speaker 3: is about 85. And so, you know, you guys are
- 6:03Speaker 3: rambunctious for us. You kind of, you know, we get
- 6:05Speaker 3: heart palpitations, can't quite handle the rowdiness. And look, these
- 6:11Speaker 3: are all Texas House members. So a bunch of guys
- 6:15Speaker 3: I know really well. So we were giving each other
- 6:18Speaker 3: very substantial amounts of grief. The president came on, he
- 6:22Speaker 3: hung out with us for a while, and then he
- 6:24Speaker 3: went up. In the front of the plane, the president
- 6:26Speaker 3: has his office. Um, by, by the way, one of
- 6:30Speaker 3: the congressmen who was on the plane with us was,
- 6:32Speaker 3: was Ronnie Jackson.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Who Ronnie Jackson used to be the president's doctor. And
- 6:37Speaker 3: he was actually Trump's doctor. And before that he was
- 6:39Speaker 3: Bush's doctor, he's Bush's doctor and Obama's doctor. And he's
- 6:42Speaker 3: a Navy Admiral and a great friend, but, but, uh,
- 6:45Speaker 3: I will confess there were more than a few jokes
- 6:47Speaker 3: told about, uh, uh, about Ronnie, uh, uh, doing exams
- 6:52Speaker 3: and pulling out the rubber gloves. Um, And Ronnie happily
- 6:57Speaker 3: went along with those jokes. And I did also tell
- 7:02Speaker 3: the president that Ronnie was giving us all amphetamines. We
- 7:04Speaker 3: didn't know why. So, you know, look, you got to
- 7:08Speaker 3: have some fun. The president was in a very good mood.
- 7:11Speaker 3: He was working on his speech. So the office in
- 7:13Speaker 3: the front where he sits, there's a desk. You've been
- 7:17Speaker 3: in there many times. There's a desk with a chair
- 7:19Speaker 3: in front of it and then kind of a couch
- 7:21Speaker 3: in the office. And so for the tail part of
- 7:25Speaker 3: the flight, we went up and hung out with the president.
- 7:27Speaker 3: He was working on the speech for the first chunk
- 7:30Speaker 3: of the flight. And so it was productive. You're talking
- 7:33Speaker 3: about a lot of issues going on. You're talking about
- 7:37Speaker 3: what's happening. And so anytime I join the president on
- 7:42Speaker 3: Air Force One, I usually go in with several issues
- 7:44Speaker 3: that I want to raise with him and talk about.
- 7:47Speaker 3: And this was no exception.
- 7:49Speaker 2: It's always a blast to get on Air Force One.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I mean, it's never, ever, ever gets old. If it does,
- 7:54Speaker 2: you got a problem is what I tell people. I
- 7:56Speaker 2: want to talk about the midterms as well. And what
- 7:58Speaker 2: all you guys chatted about there, because that had to
- 8:00Speaker 2: be an obvious, serious point of conversation is we're getting
- 8:05Speaker 2: really close.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of the conversation with the president was
- 8:09Speaker 3: about the midterms and in particular about Texas. He was
- 8:12Speaker 3: asking about Ken Paxton, how the race looks, how confident
- 8:15Speaker 3: I was that we were going to win. And I said, yes,
- 8:17Speaker 3: we are going to win this race, but it is
- 8:19Speaker 3: a very serious race. And we talked about how I
- 8:22Speaker 3: was glad he was coming there, that winning the race,
- 8:26Speaker 3: I think, is going to come down to turnout. And
- 8:28Speaker 3: President Trump coming down and energizing his base to come
- 8:32Speaker 3: out and vote will make a real difference. We're going
- 8:35Speaker 3: to win, but the president's help makes a difference.
- 8:38Speaker 2: This was a campaign trip for the president coming to Texas.
- 8:42Speaker 2: You said that was obviously very important for him to
- 8:44Speaker 2: get down here. But he's about to hit the campaign
- 8:47Speaker 2: trail really all over the country. What did the president
- 8:50Speaker 2: have to say about that in the midterms in general?
- 8:53Speaker 3: Oh, look, he said for the next 32 days, he's
- 8:55Speaker 3: going to be on the road and he's going to
- 8:56Speaker 3: be doing rallies all over the country to energize voters
- 8:59Speaker 3: to turn out for the midterms. He actually was kind
- 9:01Speaker 3: of a little apologetic in that he said in the
- 9:04Speaker 3: tail part of his election in 24, He said he
- 9:09Speaker 3: was on the road for 120 days straight. So he says,
- 9:11Speaker 3: I feel kind of bad. I'm only doing 32 days.
- 9:13Speaker 3: But well, that was my election and then 32 days.
- 9:15Speaker 3: But look, this last month, he's planning to be on
- 9:19Speaker 3: the road nonstop and campaign across the country. And I
- 9:21Speaker 3: think that that will be very helpful.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Now, it's a long flight from from from, you know,
- 9:27Speaker 2: injuries all the way down to I'm assuming you guys
- 9:30Speaker 2: came into Love Field. And that means you had a
- 9:32Speaker 2: lot of time to talk about other issues as well.
- 9:34Speaker 2: What else did you and the president chat about?
- 9:37Speaker 3: You know, one of the things we talked the most
- 9:38Speaker 3: about is the president had two big, big victories this
- 9:43Speaker 3: week that are really consequential, and they're on two issues
- 9:45Speaker 3: that matter dearly to me and that I've been very
- 9:49Speaker 3: engaged on. The first was the Trump accounts, and as
- 9:53Speaker 3: you know, I wrote the legislation that became the Trump accounts,
- 9:56Speaker 3: and for a year we had been having a battle
- 9:59Speaker 3: because the way I wrote the Trump accounts was for
- 10:02Speaker 3: them to be auto-enrolled, for them to automatically be created
- 10:06Speaker 3: for every kid in America. When they were launched, the
- 10:10Speaker 3: Treasury Department did not do auto-enrollment. What it did instead
- 10:13Speaker 3: is parents had to go and opt in and actually
- 10:18Speaker 3: affirmatively open the account. And so to date, about 7
- 10:22Speaker 3: million kids have opened an account, 7 million parents have
- 10:25Speaker 3: opened the accounts for their kids. But there are about
- 10:28Speaker 3: 70 million kids in America under 18. And so I
- 10:31Speaker 3: wrote the legislation for those to be automatically open for everyone.
- 10:36Speaker 3: And the lawyers at Treasury, the career lawyers, the deep state,
- 10:39Speaker 3: they did not want to do it. And they battled
- 10:41Speaker 3: and battled and battled. So for a year, I had
- 10:45Speaker 3: been fighting the career lawyers at Treasury who were just
- 10:48Speaker 3: dug in and were resisting auto-enrollment like crazy. Well, when
- 10:54Speaker 3: we did the official launch of the Trump accounts, which
- 10:56Speaker 3: was on July 4th of this year, we had a
- 11:01Speaker 3: big event in the Oval Office, and I talked with
- 11:04Speaker 3: the President at length about the need for auto-enrollment, and
- 11:07Speaker 3: the President there ordered Treasury, make this happen. It's important.
- 11:13Speaker 3: And it's important for a couple of reasons. One, it's
- 11:15Speaker 3: important because Trump accounts for newborn kids, $ 1, 000 are provided
- 11:20Speaker 3: in Trump accounts for newborn kids. Well, they can't go
- 11:23Speaker 3: there if you don't have the account open, and there
- 11:25Speaker 3: are about 3.7 million newborns each year, so you need
- 11:27Speaker 3: the accounts open so those newborns can receive that $ 1, 000,
- 11:31Speaker 3: have it invested in the stock market, and have it
- 11:33Speaker 3: begin compounding. But secondly, there was another even more compelling reason,
- 11:39Speaker 3: which is the Trump accounts are designed to be able
- 11:41Speaker 3: to receive charity. We've seen big charitable gifts like Michael
- 11:46Speaker 3: Dell giving $ 250 to 25 million kids across the country. Well,
- 11:51Speaker 3: those 25 million kids can't receive that $ 250 unless they
- 11:55Speaker 3: have an account open that you can put it in.
- 11:57Speaker 3: So even though he's given the money, it doesn't land
- 12:01Speaker 3: anywhere if the accounts are not open. Well, this week, finally,
- 12:04Speaker 3: the Treasury did it and opened 70 million accounts. In fact,
- 12:08Speaker 3: we're going to have a big event. next week with
- 12:11Speaker 3: the president in the Oval Office, so I'll be back
- 12:14Speaker 3: in D.C. with the president next week, focused on the auto-enrollment,
- 12:18Speaker 3: but Treasury just did it. We'll talk further in a
- 12:21Speaker 3: pod next week about auto-enrollment, but that was a big victory,
- 12:25Speaker 3: and it was a battle. I mean, it took a year.
- 12:29Speaker 3: There was a second victory that we also got from Treasury,
- 12:32Speaker 3: and as you know, the two most consequential elements that
- 12:37Speaker 3: I wrote in the Working Families Tax Cut were the
- 12:39Speaker 3: Trump accounts, and the school choice tax credit. And the
- 12:43Speaker 3: school choice tax credit, it will kick in next year.
- 12:46Speaker 3: And it is written that every taxpayer in America can
- 12:49Speaker 3: give up to $ 1, 700 to a scholarship granting organization in
- 12:53Speaker 3: the States. And you get a dollar for dollar tax credit,
- 12:57Speaker 3: not a deduction, a credit, which means it's basically free
- 12:59Speaker 3: money that if you write $ 1, 700, you owe $ 1, 700 less
- 13:00Speaker 3: to Uncle Sam. So for you, it costs you nothing.
- 13:03Speaker 3: That will unleash tens of billions of dollars of new
- 13:12Speaker 3: scholarships starting next year that will benefit millions of kids
- 13:17Speaker 3: trapped in failing schools. Well, there was a really important interpretation,
- 13:22Speaker 3: which is it's $ 1, 700 per taxpayer, but what about for
- 13:26Speaker 3: a married couple filing jointly? And again, These same career
- 13:32Speaker 3: lawyers at Treasury were dug in and they were adamant.
- 13:36Speaker 1: At least they're consistent, right?
- 13:39Speaker 3: They're just stuck in the mud. They were adamant. Nope,
- 13:41Speaker 3: married couple, it's just $ 1, 700. So you get a marriage penalty.
- 13:44Speaker 3: They were like, you get a marriage penalty. If you're single,
- 13:47Speaker 3: you both get $ 1, 700. But if you get married, one
- 13:49Speaker 3: of you loses that and you only have $ 1, 700 as
- 13:52Speaker 3: a couple. And so I had leaned in. Look, I
- 13:55Speaker 3: had gone. I went and had breakfast with Scott Besson
- 13:57Speaker 3: at the Treasury Department. Scott is a friend of mine.
- 13:59Speaker 3: I'd leaned in hard with him. I'd leaned in with
- 14:02Speaker 3: Frank Bisognano, who's running the IRS and is implementing this.
- 14:06Speaker 3: And I'd leaned in with the president. Again, it had
- 14:08Speaker 3: taken a year. A year ago, I was fighting on
- 14:11Speaker 3: the Trump accounts on auto enroll. And a year ago,
- 14:13Speaker 3: I was fighting for a married couple to get the full,
- 14:17Speaker 3: the double tax credit. Well, just this week, Treasury announced
- 14:23Speaker 3: that a married couple now gets $ 3, 400. So you don't
- 14:26Speaker 3: get a marriage penalty. And my argument to them Look,
- 14:29Speaker 3: the wonky tax lawyers, what they said is they said, well,
- 14:33Speaker 3: the IRS code, the way it is written, is typically
- 14:37Speaker 3: if there's a creditor deduction, it will say a single
- 14:40Speaker 3: filer gets X and a joint filer gets 2X. And
- 14:44Speaker 3: it specifies single and joint filer. They said it doesn't
- 14:47Speaker 3: say this here. And my response, which I said to
- 14:52Speaker 3: Besson and I said to the lawyers there, I said, look,
- 14:55Speaker 3: Number one, I wrote this provision, and I'm telling you
- 14:58Speaker 3: my legislative intent was to give the full deduction to
- 15:02Speaker 3: a couple, not to cut it in half when you
- 15:03Speaker 3: get married. But I said, number two, here's what the
- 15:06Speaker 3: statutory text says. It says every taxpayer gets the credit. Now,
- 15:12Speaker 3: last I checked, I'm a taxpayer. But you know what?
- 15:15Speaker 3: Heidi is also a taxpayer. And so, as a litigator,
- 15:20Speaker 3: I can make a very simple, plain statement plain language,
- 15:24Speaker 3: plain text argument that we're a taxpayer, each of us
- 15:27Speaker 3: is a taxpayer, and the impact of this decision is massive.
- 15:30Speaker 3: It's going to double the impact of this tax credit.
- 15:33Speaker 3: It means twice as many scholarships are going to go
- 15:35Speaker 3: out next year because now couples, look, every taxpayer... ought
- 15:40Speaker 3: to be giving the $ 3, 400 if you pay at least
- 15:43Speaker 3: that much in taxes, which most taxpayers do. It's free money,
- 15:48Speaker 3: and that is going to be billions more that are
- 15:50Speaker 3: going to help kids in need get out of failing schools,
- 15:54Speaker 3: get out of violent schools, be able to learn to
- 15:56Speaker 3: read and write, get a better future. And so both
- 15:58Speaker 3: of those were huge victories. And so on the plane,
- 16:02Speaker 3: I was talking with the president and thanking him for
- 16:05Speaker 3: his leadership because... For both of those, what it took
- 16:09Speaker 3: to get that done is the president instructing Treasury, get
- 16:13Speaker 3: this right and do this right.
- 16:15Speaker 2: All right, I'd like to take a moment and talk
- 16:17Speaker 2: to you for a second about something that I've done,
- 16:21Speaker 2: and it has been so rewarding. It is helping change
- 16:24Speaker 2: someone's life. And if you're going to change someone's life,
- 16:27Speaker 2: you want to know that it actually works if that's
- 16:29Speaker 2: your goal. And that's one of the reasons Compassion International
- 16:32Speaker 2: has become one of the most trusted child development ministries
- 16:35Speaker 2: in the entire world. Now, independent research shows children that
- 16:39Speaker 2: have been sponsored through Compassion stay in school longer. They're 40%
- 16:44Speaker 2: more likely to graduate high school. And in many of
- 16:46Speaker 2: these countries that are third world countries, that is an
- 16:49Speaker 2: unbelievable statistic. Here's something else. 80% more likely to finish college.
- 16:54Speaker 2: That is unheard of. And all of that is because
- 16:57Speaker 2: sponsorship isn't just temporary relief. It's long-term investment through the
- 17:03Speaker 2: local church. They are meeting the physical needs while sharing
- 17:07Speaker 2: the hope of Jesus. Now you can do what I do.
- 17:09Speaker 2: And for just $ 43 a month, you can help shape

- 17:18Speaker 1: That's Compassion.com.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Senator, I want to go back to one of the
- 17:23Speaker 2: things that you guys did, and that was to go
- 17:25Speaker 2: to the Peterbilt plant. This was part of laying out,
- 17:29Speaker 2: I think, really the record of this president and what
- 17:32Speaker 2: we need in this country, what we need more of,
- 17:34Speaker 2: especially in the race that he was certainly in Texas
- 17:37Speaker 2: to deal with, and that was the Tallarico race.
- 17:40Speaker 3: So, yeah, we arrived at the Peterbilt factory, and I've
- 17:44Speaker 3: been to the Peterbilt factory before. I've toured it. Years ago,
- 17:47Speaker 3: I toured it, and it is an amazing place. Have
- 17:50Speaker 3: you ever seen an 18-wheeler being built?
- 17:52Speaker 1: No, I have not.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Okay, it is so cool. And they have a big,
- 17:57Speaker 3: long assembly line, and these big, massive, badass trucks they're building. Yeah.
- 18:02Speaker 3: How many trucks do you think they build in a day?
- 18:05Speaker 1: Oh, gosh. I mean, I'm going to go out with 10.
- 18:09Speaker 3: They build 218 wheelers a day. A day. I mean,
- 18:13Speaker 3: it just... So.
- 18:15Speaker 1: There's a need for 200. Is that in America or
- 18:17Speaker 1: just around the world?
- 18:18Speaker 3: That's in America.
- 18:19Speaker 4: No, no.
- 18:19Speaker 3: They're selling these in America. They make them there. And
- 18:22Speaker 3: I mean, these are, you know, big monster.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Yeah, they're huge.
- 18:25Speaker 3: You know, the Peterbelts and... They were very cool. And
- 18:28Speaker 3: the workers there, I got to say that the workers there,
- 18:32Speaker 3: they love Trump. And so we started by he's visiting
- 18:35Speaker 3: with a number of workers and shaking their hands and
- 18:37Speaker 3: I'm visiting with them. And look, those are my peeps.
- 18:40Speaker 3: I have like like that's his base and my base
- 18:43Speaker 3: have a very strong overlap.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:46Speaker 3: But, you know, they're thrilled to meet him and they're
- 18:48Speaker 3: shaking his hand. And then I actually several times said, here,
- 18:51Speaker 3: give me your phone. And I would take a picture
- 18:53Speaker 3: of them with with the president on their phone, which
- 18:55Speaker 3: which made them really happy. But watching the love that
- 19:01Speaker 3: those factory workers have for the president is really amazing.
- 19:06Speaker 3: We were there with the CEO. The CEO said that
- 19:09Speaker 3: the plant was booming, that they were having their best
- 19:12Speaker 3: year because of the president's economic policies. And look, the
- 19:16Speaker 3: president's whole message at the rally was, we have incredible
- 19:20Speaker 3: economic numbers and the media is lying to the voters
- 19:23Speaker 3: and telling everyone the economy is lousy. And you and
- 19:27Speaker 3: I have covered on this podcast. Look, just this last month,
- 19:31Speaker 3: the data came out that we have right now the
- 19:33Speaker 3: highest family income ever recorded. Median income is the highest
- 19:39Speaker 3: it's ever been recorded in the history of America. We
- 19:42Speaker 3: also have the lowest poverty rate that has ever been
- 19:47Speaker 3: recorded in the history of America. That includes the lowest...
- 19:51Speaker 3: African-American poverty rate, the lowest Hispanic poverty rate, and the
- 19:55Speaker 3: lowest Native American poverty rate ever recorded in the history
- 19:59Speaker 3: of the country. And the media doesn't talk about any
- 20:00Speaker 3: of that. They don't want you to know any of that.
- 20:02Speaker 3: And so the president is frustrated. He's visibly frustrated. He
- 20:05Speaker 3: was venting on Air Force One. And at the rally,
- 20:08Speaker 3: he's speaking to the rally, and he's saying, look, you
- 20:10Speaker 3: look at these numbers. We're doing really, really well. But
- 20:16Speaker 3: the media is trying to convince people, well, it's terrible.
- 20:18Speaker 3: It's terrible affordability. And they say gas prices. And the
- 20:22Speaker 3: president rightly pointed out, yes, gas prices are higher because
- 20:25Speaker 3: we're taking out an Ayatollah and stopping Iran from getting
- 20:29Speaker 3: a nuclear weapon. But gas prices are still a lot
- 20:32Speaker 3: lower than they were under Joe Biden. And he made
- 20:34Speaker 3: that point, and that point is right. So that was
- 20:39Speaker 3: really important for him to make. And then he was also,
- 20:41Speaker 3: Ken Paxton was there at the rally, and Ken got
- 20:43Speaker 3: a good chair. And he was urging people, you got
- 20:46Speaker 3: to come out and vote for Ken Paxton. He was
- 20:47Speaker 3: giving Ken a lot of love. He was also, you know,
- 20:53Speaker 3: he was also emphasizing, look, Tallarico is extreme. This guy
- 20:58Speaker 3: is radical radical. And he would be incredibly dangerous. And
- 21:04Speaker 3: I think that is valuable for people to know just
- 21:07Speaker 3: how far out of step from the mainstream Tallarico is
- 21:10Speaker 3: that he is a left-wing radical. Yeah.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Yeah, not only is he a left-wing radical, but this
- 21:16Speaker 2: race has obviously caught the attention of a lot of
- 21:18Speaker 2: Democratic donors. A lot of his money is coming in
- 21:20Speaker 2: from out of state.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And that's what's funny.
- 21:22Speaker 2: And by the way, there's a trend there as well.
- 21:24Speaker 2: And that's one of the reasons why this race has
- 21:26Speaker 2: gotten so expensive.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Yeah, no, no. I mean, it has been a massively
- 21:30Speaker 3: expensive race. And Tallarico has money flooding in from New York,
- 21:34Speaker 3: from California, from Hollywood. They want to elect a woke
- 21:40Speaker 3: left-wing radical from Texas in particular. And by the way,
- 21:43Speaker 3: to understand who he is, look, we've talked a lot
- 21:45Speaker 3: about Hassan Piker, the radical, Islamist, communist, America-hating zealot. You know,
- 21:52Speaker 3: the guy who says, among other things, America deserved 9-11.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Hassan Piker has become, Abdul Al-Sayed does not win his
- 22:01Speaker 3: primary without campaigning alongside Hassan Piker. The Democrats are not
- 22:06Speaker 3: running away from this guy. Well, Piker was in Texas
- 22:08Speaker 3: this past week, and he had a message for Tallarico
- 22:12Speaker 3: and all of his supporters. Give a listen to what
- 22:14Speaker 3: Hassan Piker said about James Tallarico.
- 22:18Speaker 5: Hopefully, inshallah, after James Tallarico wins, okay?
- 22:22Speaker 3: Yeah, after.
- 22:24Speaker 5: I'm not allowed, I feel like, I shouldn't even say that.
- 22:26Speaker 5: I feel like in the state of Texas, no Sharia state.
- 22:29Speaker 5: They're going to they're going to throw me in prison. But, yeah,
- 22:33Speaker 5: hopefully after James Seller wins, we got to hold him
- 22:37Speaker 5: to account. We got to make sure that he doesn't
- 22:40Speaker 5: become another do nothing Democrat business as usual. And we
- 22:44Speaker 5: got to keep up that pressure. And we have to
- 22:48Speaker 5: remind him that we are the force that backed him
- 22:52Speaker 5: both early on. And we are the force that allowed
- 22:55Speaker 5: him to win this seat of power. And if he
- 22:57Speaker 5: wants to maintain it, he's got.
- 22:59Speaker 3: To play ball.
- 23:00Speaker 1: If he wants to maintain it, Senator, he's just got
- 23:02Speaker 1: to play ball.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Well, look, Hassan Piker, I'm going to give him credit
- 23:06Speaker 3: for being honest there. I mean, he starts by saying, hopefully, inshallah,
- 23:11Speaker 3: James Tallarica wins. Now, inshallah is Arabic for if God
- 23:15Speaker 3: is willing. And Piker is an open Islamist. And he
- 23:21Speaker 3: is saying the Islamists, the radicals, they're the ones who
- 23:26Speaker 3: elected James Tallarico. They're the ones who helped him win
- 23:30Speaker 3: the primary. They're the ones who put him in power.
- 23:33Speaker 3: He will owe them if he's elected. That tells you
- 23:36Speaker 3: where this guy is. I mean, Piker understands this is
- 23:39Speaker 3: our guy. And Tallarico and Abdul Al-Sayed are the two
- 23:43Speaker 3: most radical Senate candidates in the country. And Piker is...
- 23:48Speaker 3: critical to both of them. By the way, I don't
- 23:51Speaker 3: think there's any chance that Tallarica would forget where he
- 23:54Speaker 3: comes from, because he's a true believer. He believes this nonsense.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I mean, he was really raised and grew up in
- 24:03Speaker 3: this sort of woke DEI, social justice warrior nonsense. And
- 24:09Speaker 3: now that he's running, he's trying to pretend to moderate.
- 24:12Speaker 3: But he's lying, and he's not very good at it,
- 24:14Speaker 3: so he keeps getting caught lying. So he went on
- 24:17Speaker 3: Fox News, and he said now he no longer supports
- 24:23Speaker 3: mutilating and sterilizing kids who think they're transgender. He no
- 24:26Speaker 3: longer supports that. He's abandoned that position because, you know,
- 24:29Speaker 3: it turns out Texans don't like mutilating and sterilizing kids.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Except for one problem. Well, two problems. One, Tallarico has
- 24:38Speaker 3: a long record of voting for that over and over again,
- 24:41Speaker 3: so that's his longstanding position. But two, he was actually
- 24:45Speaker 3: caught on camera admitting that his position hasn't changed. So
- 24:48Speaker 3: give a listen. This is an undercover camera that caught
- 24:51Speaker 3: him admitting that he's lying when he says he no
- 24:54Speaker 3: longer wants to sterilize kids. Give a listen.
- 24:56Speaker 5: It's so nice to see you. So nice to see
- 24:58Speaker 5: you too.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Thank you for being here.
- 24:59Speaker 4: I'm so glad you came.
- 25:01Speaker 3: It means a lot.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Let's get a picture.
- 25:04Speaker 4: So, really quick, I'm just so happy that you're running
- 25:06Speaker 4: and everything you're doing for our country and making everyone
- 25:08Speaker 4: feel included.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Really quick, I have a niece who's trans. I want
- 25:11Speaker 1: to let her know.
- 25:12Speaker 3: That our government hears her. Can I count on you
- 25:15Speaker 3: to support her?
- 25:16Speaker 1: She's not able to participate in the court.
- 25:19Speaker 5: The way I fought for trans kids in the legislature
- 25:22Speaker 5: is how I will fight for the U.S.
- 25:23Speaker 4: Senate.
- 25:24Speaker 1: And my position hasn't changed.
- 25:26Speaker 5: I still think these should be local decisions, sport by sport,
- 25:29Speaker 5: athlete by athlete.
- 25:30Speaker 1: And I think I have the most inclusive policy.
- 25:32Speaker 5: Of any candidate who's running. I know things are getting
- 25:36Speaker 5: clipped and stuff, but my views, my position hasn't changed.
- 25:39Speaker 5: And I'm going to have your loved ones back. Thank
- 25:43Speaker 5: you so much.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Thank you. God bless you.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Senator, there it is.
- 25:47Speaker 2: My views haven't changed at all. So when he went
- 25:48Speaker 2: on Fox News Channel with the mea culpa, that was
- 25:51Speaker 2: a lie, right?
- 25:52Speaker 3: That was just all a big lie. He was flat
- 25:53Speaker 3: out lying. And by the way, this undercover camera was
- 25:56Speaker 3: on September 13th. So that was just a couple of
- 25:58Speaker 3: weeks ago that he was caught in camera saying, oh, no, no, no,
- 26:00Speaker 3: my views haven't changed. I'm still for operating and sterilizing kids.
- 26:06Speaker 3: And I'm still for boys and girls sports and men
- 26:09Speaker 3: and women's sports. I mean, that's what he's urging. Nothing
- 26:11Speaker 3: has changed. I'm just having to lie to the voters
- 26:14Speaker 3: because I think I can dupe them. You know, there
- 26:17Speaker 3: also is footage showing one of his field organizers saying,
- 26:22Speaker 3: talking about how Tallarico's views are much more anti-Israel than
- 26:28Speaker 3: he's admitted publicly. Give a listen to this radical field
- 26:32Speaker 3: organizer working for Tallarico.
- 26:35Speaker 4: I completely understand. Most of my coworkers are also that part.
- 26:46Speaker 1: So we get it.
- 26:48Speaker 4: It's more so the thing of like, I guess like
- 26:50Speaker 4: the vehicle kind of, because we're trying to split his
- 26:54Speaker 4: right seat. So basically he stands on the outside. Morally,
- 27:00Speaker 4: what is being done to the Palestinians is morally reprehensible.
- 27:04Speaker 4: It should not be done. No funding should be given
- 27:09Speaker 4: to do the things that Israel is doing to Palestinians.
- 27:12Speaker 2: I'm just glad she's wearing the Tallarico shirt at the
- 27:15Speaker 2: campaign headquarters and is saying we're a bunch of Marxists.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, that is her position. She's saying he
- 27:21Speaker 3: is too, but we have a chance to fool the voters.
- 27:24Speaker 3: And don't worry, he hates Israel every bit as much
- 27:27Speaker 3: as you do. He also told the other voter he's
- 27:32Speaker 3: for sterilizing kids every bit as much as they are.
- 27:35Speaker 3: This is who that guy is, and that's not where
- 27:38Speaker 3: the voters of Texas are.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Senator, I want to move into something else that we
- 27:44Speaker 2: did not get to talk about earlier, but it's a really...
- 27:46Speaker 2: important story. It's also one where heroes have come out
- 27:50Speaker 2: and they should be celebrated. And that is the attack
- 27:54Speaker 2: inside that cockpit on an airplane that was headed towards
- 27:57Speaker 2: Tel Aviv, 170 on board. And by the grace of God,
- 28:00Speaker 2: that pilot fought back that was being attacked, was able
- 28:03Speaker 2: to open that door. And then the citizens were able
- 28:06Speaker 2: to get involved that were on that plane. There are
- 28:09Speaker 2: heroes that we're hearing about that it's amazing.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Look, it could have been a truly horrific terror attack.
- 28:15Speaker 3: It could have murdered 174 people in a fiery crash.
- 28:20Speaker 3: And it was a remarkable instance of heroism that averted that.
- 28:24Speaker 3: So this was a flight, a fly Dubai flight that
- 28:27Speaker 3: was going from Dubai to Israel. 174 people on board.
- 28:32Speaker 3: And midway through the flight, actually pretty near Israel, so
- 28:36Speaker 3: it's the tail end of the flight, the co-pilot stabbed
- 28:41Speaker 3: the pilot. And the pilot is bleeding. He was severely stabbed.
- 28:48Speaker 3: And while he's bleeding and fighting back, he reached back
- 28:52Speaker 3: and unlocked the cockpit door and pushed it open. Because
- 28:55Speaker 3: the cockpit door is normally locked and sealed so passengers
- 28:58Speaker 3: can't get in. He opens the cockpit door. And mind you,
- 29:03Speaker 3: the plane was, at the time, it was flying at
- 29:07Speaker 3: 33,000 feet. And it ended up plummeting down. and dropping
- 29:13Speaker 3: 13,000 feet in less than two minutes. So if you
- 29:17Speaker 3: can imagine how terrifying this is, you're on a plane,
- 29:21Speaker 3: and it starts going down because the pilot's been stabbed,
- 29:23Speaker 3: and the co-pilot, and he's fighting with the co-pilot, and
- 29:27Speaker 3: when the pilot opened the door, the passengers saw what
- 29:31Speaker 3: was going on, and they rushed forward, and a number
- 29:35Speaker 3: of Israeli passengers rushed forward, and they subdued the terror.
- 29:40Speaker 3: And so the pilot, the one who was stabbed, was Indian,
- 29:44Speaker 3: of Indian descent, and the guy was really heroic. He
- 29:47Speaker 3: saved the lives of every passenger there. If he'd not
- 29:50Speaker 3: opened that cockpit door, that plane would have crashed in
- 29:53Speaker 3: the ground, and everyone would have died. And then the
- 29:56Speaker 3: Israelis who rushed in there, I mean, they were, you know,
- 29:59Speaker 3: this was a terrorist with a knife who had just
- 30:01Speaker 3: stabbed the pilot and they subdued him forcibly. And in particular, one,
- 30:06Speaker 3: an Israeli dentist who was like the lead guy in
- 30:10Speaker 3: subduing him, and they got control of the plane and
- 30:14Speaker 3: it diverted to Saudi Arabia. The terrorist was from Oman.
- 30:19Speaker 3: We don't know We don't know the details yet. We
- 30:22Speaker 3: don't know if it's connected to Iran. We don't know
- 30:25Speaker 3: if it's connected to Hamas or Hezbollah or what. It
- 30:28Speaker 3: was clearly a terrorist attack, but it has not been
- 30:32Speaker 3: publicly reported, but it was an extraordinary moment of heroism.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Not only that, it was one of those moments where
- 30:39Speaker 2: I think the story of the heroism and people coming
- 30:42Speaker 2: together and also this just reality, people now know since 9-11,
- 30:45Speaker 2: if your plane is hijacked, the chance of survival increases.
- 30:48Speaker 2: are extremely low. This is not people grabbing a plane
- 30:52Speaker 2: for money. This is usually terrorists, like you said, and
- 30:54Speaker 2: described in the way that you did. But I also
- 30:57Speaker 2: think just the other part of the story that's incredible
- 31:00Speaker 2: to me is that dentist you mentioned is the one
- 31:02Speaker 2: that apparently saved the life of that pilot who'd been
- 31:06Speaker 2: severely wounded. That was another part of the story that
- 31:08Speaker 2: came out. And then you saw even some of the
- 31:11Speaker 2: people that were involved had blood still on their clothes
- 31:15Speaker 2: as one of those heroes met Benjamin Netanyahu.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Yeah, the dentist, when he came off the plane, I mean,
- 31:21Speaker 3: he was covered in blood, and Benjamin Netanyahu embraced him
- 31:25Speaker 3: and hugged him. I mean, it was really, this guy's
- 31:28Speaker 3: a hero, and the passengers that stopped this terrorist, I mean,
- 31:31Speaker 3: they saved their lives and the lives of every other passenger,
- 31:35Speaker 3: and there were a bunch of kids on that plane
- 31:39Speaker 3: who could easily, easily have been killed, and You know,
- 31:44Speaker 3: the point you made is an important one, and a
- 31:46Speaker 3: lot of our listeners are younger, and so they may
- 31:49Speaker 3: not realize this, but before 9-11, people's reaction to a
- 31:57Speaker 3: plane hijacking was different. Because before 9-11, the hijackings that
- 32:03Speaker 3: had happened, and there hadn't been many, but there'd been some,
- 32:07Speaker 3: was usually a hijacker that wanted a ransom or wanted something,
- 32:10Speaker 3: and they would divert the plane, say, to Cuba or somewhere.
- 32:13Speaker 3: And try to get a ransom. And so if you
- 32:16Speaker 3: think that it's a hijacking where that's the end game,
- 32:20Speaker 3: the passengers are more likely to go along with it.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:24Speaker 3: 9-11 changed all of that because obviously the hijackers there
- 32:29Speaker 3: used the plane as bombs to murder nearly 3,000 people
- 32:35Speaker 3: and flew them into the World Trade Centers and the
- 32:38Speaker 3: Pentagon and then the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania that, that, that,
- 32:43Speaker 3: We believe was targeting either the White House or the Capitol.
- 32:46Speaker 3: We don't know which one was the target, but it
- 32:47Speaker 3: was headed to Washington and believed to be one of
- 32:49Speaker 3: those two. If you know that if the terrorist succeeds,
- 32:56Speaker 3: the plane is going to crash and everyone's going to
- 32:58Speaker 3: be killed. you're a lot more likely to say, okay,
- 33:01Speaker 3: let's go stop the terrorist. And by the way.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Because you're now fighting for your survival.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Yeah, the heroes who took the plane down in Pennsylvania
- 33:10Speaker 3: that stopped it from crashing into the Pentagon or the
- 33:13Speaker 3: White House or Capitol, they may have saved thousands more lives.
- 33:17Speaker 3: We don't know how many lives would have been taken
- 33:19Speaker 3: had that plane gone the distance. And we obviously don't
- 33:22Speaker 3: know exactly what transpired other than that they violently took
- 33:27Speaker 3: it on and it ended up crashing in an open
- 33:29Speaker 3: field But you're incentivized, okay, if I don't stop them,
- 33:34Speaker 3: we're all going to die. And in this case, that's
- 33:38Speaker 3: exactly what happened. They stopped them and everyone lived as
- 33:41Speaker 3: a result.
- 33:42Speaker 2: You know, just some of the aspect of we're all
- 33:44Speaker 2: humans came into place with this. When they landed in
- 33:47Speaker 2: Saudi Arabia, they do not have diplomatic relations with Israel.
- 33:51Speaker 2: And yet they treated them like they were their own.
- 33:54Speaker 2: And it's just another part of that story. When things
- 33:58Speaker 2: like this happen, watching people come together, it's what I
- 34:01Speaker 2: remember after 9-11. It's what you and I have talked
- 34:04Speaker 2: about before, but just that Saudi aspect of the story
- 34:07Speaker 2: is also truly incredible.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it is, and the terrorist is now in custody
- 34:13Speaker 3: in Saudi Arabia, is being questioned there. I will say this.
- 34:18Speaker 3: I'm not sure anyone really wants to be questioned in
- 34:20Speaker 3: Saudi Arabia. I think it.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Is likely to be.
- 34:27Speaker 3: A very, very thorough questioning. I feel pretty confident of.
- 34:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's an amazing story. It could have ended out
- 34:34Speaker 2: a lot worse than it did. But because those heroes,
- 34:37Speaker 2: we should celebrate it and just take a moment and
- 34:39Speaker 2: recognize them as well.
- 34:41Speaker 3: Well, and look, this terror attack comes at a time
- 34:44Speaker 3: where we also had multiple terrorists arrested in the United
- 34:47Speaker 3: Kingdom for planning a terror attack on a military base there,
- 34:50Speaker 3: a base that the U.S. military used. It was a
- 34:53Speaker 3: British base, but it was a base that we used
- 34:56Speaker 3: to launch air attacks on Iran. And at this point,
- 35:00Speaker 3: the British prime minister has said that that terror attack
- 35:04Speaker 3: that was thwarted was directly connected to Iran. And so
- 35:07Speaker 3: we'll find out more details about that Actually, President Trump,
- 35:11Speaker 3: when we landed in Texas, he did a press conference
- 35:14Speaker 3: with reporters and they asked him about that. And President
- 35:17Speaker 3: Trump was not yet ready to confirm that Iran was
- 35:21Speaker 3: behind that attempted terror attack, but he said it looks
- 35:24Speaker 3: like that may well be and we're trying to ascertain that.
- 35:28Speaker 3: You put these together, and it's a dangerous time. We
- 35:30Speaker 3: have enemies who want to kill Americans. They want to
- 35:34Speaker 3: kill Israelis. And these terrorists are dangerous. And President Trump,
- 35:38Speaker 3: I think, is being a strong and effective commander-in-chief, acting
- 35:42Speaker 3: to protect us from these terrorists.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Amen to that.
