- 0:00Speaker 1: Heidi Ho, 306 here in the afternoon, NewsRadio 570, WDQN,
- 0:03Speaker 1: and Ron Verp with you on a Friday, May 22nd.
- 0:06Speaker 1: We are at 64 degrees, overcast, cloudy, and rain showers
- 0:12Speaker 1: in the forecast. It's almost like it's a surprise when
- 0:16Speaker 1: they're not in a forecast. And boy, they're talking about
- 0:18Speaker 1: some significant rain coming between Friday and Saturday in my
- 0:23Speaker 1: neck of the woods here. And it's just been, we've
- 0:25Speaker 1: had so much rain, we're so saturated now, our ground
- 0:28Speaker 1: is I mean, it's just been so overwhelming with rain.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Ground's really saturated, and we're expecting a pretty significant amount
- 0:37Speaker 1: of rain again Friday and Saturday here in my neck
- 0:41Speaker 1: of the woods. Enough bellyaching, I know what you're saying,
- 0:44Speaker 1: and to welcome one and all. Let me see. I
- 0:47Speaker 1: mentioned yesterday, and Ted the Conservative was chiming in, there is,
- 0:52Speaker 1: and I'm going to get into this today, and I'm
- 0:57Speaker 1: going to take some time in the beginning of this broadcast.
- 1:03Speaker 1: And I take some calls on this. I should find
- 1:08Speaker 1: some of these emails that they highlighted for me where,
- 1:13Speaker 1: let's see if I can find any of them. Let
- 1:17Speaker 1: me see. And I'll pass some of them along to
- 1:22Speaker 1: you as I go through some of these. But it
- 1:25Speaker 1: has to do with It's clear to me that there
- 1:30Speaker 1: are many people that are Trump supporters that I don't
- 1:35Speaker 1: want to say check their brain at the door. But
- 1:38Speaker 1: when you hear about their part of this cult, the
- 1:41Speaker 1: mega cult, there's I think there's truth to that. It
- 1:46Speaker 1: was interesting yesterday and I enjoyed my discussion with Ted,
- 1:48Speaker 1: the conservative, because I do remember him saying that, you know,
- 1:53Speaker 1: I'm going to say a couple of years ago, maybe
- 1:55Speaker 1: Ted would have to clarify that. He can call in
- 1:58Speaker 1: and clarify when he brought that up. But there is
- 2:01Speaker 1: this there is this cult and I scratch my head
- 2:05Speaker 1: about it. In other words, these are the folks who
- 2:09Speaker 1: basically think that under no circumstances should you disagree with
- 2:14Speaker 1: Trump on anything. It's almost like he's got these people hypnotized.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Whatever he says, whatever he thinks, whatever he does is okay, acceptable.
- 2:26Speaker 1: There's no criticism. It's okay. And it is very cult-like.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I'll have to have Ted explain that on when he
- 2:35Speaker 1: first said that and what brought him to that conclusion
- 2:39Speaker 1: when he gets on the program today. But it is
- 2:43Speaker 1: very much true. Now, with that being said... I want
- 2:48Speaker 1: to go into a couple of things with you. I mean,
- 2:52Speaker 1: so those people I will never be able to please.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I don't much care for people who have that mentality
- 2:57Speaker 1: when it comes to the Democrat Party or a Democrat
- 3:00Speaker 1: leader any more than I do for the Republican Party
- 3:02Speaker 1: or a Republican leader. So I don't much care for it.
- 3:13Speaker 1: So when I look at the things that are going
- 3:17Speaker 1: on over the years, and I say this, I think
- 3:21Speaker 1: to a certain extent, we're almost turning on our own
- 3:30Speaker 1: to a large extent. And I'm one of those guys,
- 3:34Speaker 1: as I've said to you in the last couple of days,
- 3:36Speaker 1: I think it's okay to disagree with Trump. I think
- 3:40Speaker 1: it's okay to criticize Trump. Now, he might not like it.
- 3:45Speaker 1: And I don't much care for that quality either. So,
- 3:52Speaker 1: that's why when I sit here and say, and I'll
- 3:54Speaker 1: cover a number of things with you, I voted for
- 3:59Speaker 1: him once, twice, three times. I voted for him in
- 4:07Speaker 1: the primaries as well, but also in the general elections. So,
- 4:14Speaker 1: I voted for him. I certainly wouldn't vote for Harris
- 4:17Speaker 1: or Biden, so don't misunderstand any of that. Nor do
- 4:21Speaker 1: I think any of the people that are critical of Trump,
- 4:24Speaker 1: I don't think they're saying they would be voting for
- 4:25Speaker 1: a Democrat either. But they are willing to say there's
- 4:31Speaker 1: some things that are going on that they're not crazy
- 4:34Speaker 1: about and that they speak about or criticize him about.
- 4:45Speaker 1: When I said to you the other day, I don't
- 4:46Speaker 1: really find it admirable that the people who helped you
- 4:50Speaker 1: get elected, you're turning on them just because they don't
- 4:56Speaker 1: agree with you on some issues. Now, just think for
- 5:01Speaker 1: a second. I mean, Tucker Carlson helped him get elected.
- 5:05Speaker 1: He was on stage with them. I mean, he was
- 5:09Speaker 1: right there with Trump on the plane, on stage, doing
- 5:12Speaker 1: all this stuff, helping him get elected. Then because Tucker
- 5:15Speaker 1: Carlson disagrees with Trump on this war in Iran, disagrees
- 5:20Speaker 1: with Trump that he hasn't done enough on the Epstein files,
- 5:25Speaker 1: all of a sudden, Trump can't stand Tucker Carlson and
- 5:28Speaker 1: calls him low IQ Tucker. Well, if he's so low IQ,
- 5:33Speaker 1: was he low IQ when he was supporting you when
- 5:35Speaker 1: you had him on stage and he was helping you
- 5:38Speaker 1: get elected? Just as you said those vicious things about
- 5:43Speaker 1: Marjorie Taylor Greene who was one of your earliest supporters,
- 5:48Speaker 1: and was helping you get elected? So when you take
- 5:55Speaker 1: a look at... I don't find that quality admirable at all.
- 6:01Speaker 1: That the people that were actively involved in his political
- 6:05Speaker 1: rise and getting elected, that he thought the world of
- 6:12Speaker 1: all of a sudden because they disagreed with him on...
- 6:15Speaker 1: some issues, and you can disagree. You can say, this
- 6:19Speaker 1: war isn't right, or you didn't do enough with Epstein,
- 6:23Speaker 1: or whatever the issue might be. You can disagree. It
- 6:28Speaker 1: doesn't mean you still don't support him over the Democrats.
- 6:31Speaker 1: It just means you disagree on these issues. But if
- 6:34Speaker 1: you do, and I think this is what is odd
- 6:36Speaker 1: about Trump, it's all of a sudden, if you don't
- 6:40Speaker 1: agree with everything he does, you're like a bum. And
- 6:44Speaker 1: so then these insults start coming to Tucker Carlson, Marjorie
- 6:47Speaker 1: Taylor Greene, Massey, any number of these people that you've
- 6:52Speaker 1: seen who've supported him. I don't think that's an admirable quality.
- 6:57Speaker 1: So I don't sit here and say, oh, as a
- 6:59Speaker 1: Trump supporter, that's okay with me.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I don't.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I believe each and every one of you as Trump supporters,
- 7:07Speaker 1: or if you're not supporters, have a right to disagree,
- 7:10Speaker 1: a right to your opinion and a right to disagree
- 7:12Speaker 1: with the guy on issues. And still be a supporter.
- 7:22Speaker 1: But there's these people in this, what Ted would refer
- 7:25Speaker 1: to as a mega cult that must seem to think
- 7:27Speaker 1: you shouldn't be able to do that. You must all
- 7:29Speaker 1: only think as Trump thinks and agree with everything he
- 7:32Speaker 1: does to be a true Trump supporter. And that's craziness.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I think that's craziness when I would see it with
- 7:40Speaker 1: the Biden supporters who supported everything about Joe Biden, even
- 7:43Speaker 1: though it was a disaster. And I looked at him
- 7:46Speaker 1: because there truly was a Biden cult as well. It
- 7:48Speaker 1: didn't matter what he was doing. They supported him 100 percent.
- 7:52Speaker 1: And I found that just bizarre. Just as I find
- 7:57Speaker 1: it bizarre if the Republicans do it. See, I don't
- 8:02Speaker 1: think you can just criticize one side for it. and
- 8:05Speaker 1: have a different standard for that side than you do
- 8:07Speaker 1: for your own side. That doesn't make sense to me. So,
- 8:11Speaker 1: like I say, I do sit back and I do
- 8:12Speaker 1: look at some of the stuff that's going on. I
- 8:15Speaker 1: don't agree with this. I don't agree with this. And
- 8:21Speaker 1: I ask you to think about this. So what if
- 8:23Speaker 1: Joe Biden, just using him as an example, pick whoever
- 8:26Speaker 1: you want, whatever Democrat you want. What if their personal
- 8:30Speaker 1: attorney became the head of the Department of Justice and
- 8:35Speaker 1: And their personal attorney gets a sweeping release under which
- 8:42Speaker 1: the IRS is forever barred and precluded from pursuing examinations
- 8:49Speaker 1: of Trump, related or affiliated individuals, that means mostly your family,
- 8:55Speaker 1: and related trust and businesses. In other words, the IRS
- 8:59Speaker 1: is forever barred From auditing or looking at anything in
- 9:05Speaker 1: the Trump family or with Trump himself or any of
- 9:08Speaker 1: his businesses. Now, that doesn't mean they can't do that
- 9:15Speaker 1: and look at you. They can't do that and look
- 9:18Speaker 1: at the vast majority of the rest of Americans. But
- 9:21Speaker 1: you have to sit back and say, would you be
- 9:22Speaker 1: approving that if that was, let's say, Biden's personal attorney
- 9:26Speaker 1: was at a Department of Justice and gave the Biden
- 9:28Speaker 1: family a waiver like that? Or would you be saying,
- 9:31Speaker 1: that stinks, that's wrong? Because if you would, because I
- 9:36Speaker 1: would say I wouldn't agree with that if it was Biden.
- 9:40Speaker 1: So I'm not going to agree with it when it's
- 9:41Speaker 1: Trump that you get this waiver that was granted to
- 9:47Speaker 1: from the Department of Justice because the guy that was
- 9:50Speaker 1: your personal lawyer is now in charge of the Department
- 9:52Speaker 1: of Justice. So as a Trump voter and Trump supporter,
- 9:59Speaker 1: I'm not going to sit here and say I agree
- 10:01Speaker 1: with that because I wouldn't agree with it if it
- 10:03Speaker 1: was someone else. And I think you also have a
- 10:12Speaker 1: right to disagree with this war situation and why he
- 10:18Speaker 1: did Once again, this reversal from where he was to
- 10:22Speaker 1: what is taking place now. Some very odd last-minute reversals
- 10:26Speaker 1: on his stands. To the point where a lot of
- 10:32Speaker 1: his supporters were shocked by it. His changing on the
- 10:37Speaker 1: entire Epstein situation. People are concerned about Epstein because it's
- 10:41Speaker 1: a double standard of justice. They refer to it as
- 10:47Speaker 1: the Epstein class. It's just a double standard of justice
- 10:51Speaker 1: that these people aren't being held accountable. And the focus
- 10:55Speaker 1: should be on the victims. Now, we're talking about adult
- 11:01Speaker 1: men here, whether they're influential business people or politicians that
- 11:06Speaker 1: were engaging in sexual activity with minor children under the age.
- 11:15Speaker 1: That alone is bizarre. Whether or not it's Prince Andrew
- 11:19Speaker 1: or Clinton or anybody else, who knows? Thinks it's okay
- 11:25Speaker 1: to have sex with a 14-year-old girl when you're a
- 11:27Speaker 1: 50-year-old man. There's something wrong with that person. I don't
- 11:35Speaker 1: give a damn what party they're with. I don't care
- 11:39Speaker 1: what they're doing. Something's wrong with that. And I don't
- 11:44Speaker 1: support it. And these files do not belong to the governments.
- 11:50Speaker 1: They are our files. This is our government. And we
- 11:56Speaker 1: have a right to see, as people have demanded, that
- 11:59Speaker 1: they be open and released so justice can be done
- 12:03Speaker 1: for the victims. But people know, as I've said numerous times,
- 12:06Speaker 1: Epstein was created by the intelligence community. Now, just think
- 12:09Speaker 1: for a second, whether that's Mossad or the CIA or both.
- 12:17Speaker 1: more suspicious of the Mossad connection. But we know he
- 12:22Speaker 1: had ties to the intelligence community. So can you imagine
- 12:28Speaker 1: that whatever ties that are to an intelligence community, that
- 12:34Speaker 1: they would think it's okay to recruit underage girls and
- 12:40Speaker 1: get them to engage in sex with 50-year-old men? that
- 12:47Speaker 1: any government or any agency would approve anything like that
- 12:54Speaker 1: for the purposes of getting something on these people. Oh,
- 12:59Speaker 1: everything was videotaped and who knows where these files are
- 13:03Speaker 1: and who knows who was compromised or the power that's
- 13:08Speaker 1: held over their heads. We know Bill Gates was hanging
- 13:13Speaker 1: out there. We know Clinton was hanging out there. Letnick
- 13:18Speaker 1: was on that island. A lot of people knew what
- 13:22Speaker 1: was going on there even before just by the names
- 13:25Speaker 1: of the Lolita Express and Pedophile Island and this kind
- 13:29Speaker 1: of stuff. A lot of people knew what was going on.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Nothing makes that right.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Nothing.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Nothing.
- 13:45Speaker 1: But what people are saying is, is there a double
- 13:47Speaker 1: standard of justice here for the Epstein class and everybody else?
- 13:50Speaker 1: And the answer at this point in time is yes.
- 13:55Speaker 1: And for the victims there. And the reversal that Pam
- 14:02Speaker 1: Bondi said with it on her desk and then it
- 14:04Speaker 1: wasn't on her desk. Very odd, very strange. Who knows
- 14:08Speaker 1: who has these videotapes or these files or this information?
- 14:12Speaker 1: Who knows who has it? And who can use it
- 14:17Speaker 1: to blackmail influential political figures and or business people. Do
- 14:25Speaker 1: you think it just disappeared? But where's the justice for it?
- 14:36Speaker 1: That's what people want it. That's what Trump wanted. That's what's.
- 14:41Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden he did a 180
- 14:43Speaker 1: when it was time to pony up on all of
- 14:46Speaker 1: this kind of stuff, a 180 to say, you're talking
- 14:48Speaker 1: about that story, that's old news by now. Literally in
- 14:51Speaker 1: the blink of an eye. Well, why did he do that?
- 14:54Speaker 1: People are asking questions, why the sudden reversal? Why the
- 14:57Speaker 1: sudden reversal on your stand when it came to regime
- 15:01Speaker 1: change in the Middle East and forever wars in the
- 15:03Speaker 1: Middle East? And from the bunker buster, took care of everything,
- 15:07Speaker 1: solved the problem, mission accomplished. Why the sudden reversal? What
- 15:13Speaker 1: is the influence of Israel and the lobbyists? They're questions
- 15:20Speaker 1: that deserve to be asked and answered for the American public.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You have a right to disagree with your country on
- 15:31Speaker 1: this war and to disagree with Trump on it. That
- 15:37Speaker 1: debate should be taking place. I'll come back. I want
- 15:41Speaker 1: to talk some more. I'll get to calls. Stay tuned.
- 15:44Speaker 1: We've got a long day.
- 15:46Speaker 5: 570 WKBN.
- 15:48Speaker 1: 324 in the afternoon. News Radio 570 WKBN and Ron Furb.
- 15:52Speaker 1: So that's just an example, I mean, when you take
- 15:54Speaker 1: a look at the Epstein situation. And that's why he
- 15:56Speaker 1: all of a sudden couldn't stand Marjorie Taylor Greene and
- 15:59Speaker 1: couldn't stand Thomas Massey and couldn't stand Tucker Carlson. Because
- 16:04Speaker 1: they think that we have a right to know what
- 16:07Speaker 1: went on here and justice should prevail for the victims.
- 16:11Speaker 1: That's an old story. That's a reversal from where you
- 16:14Speaker 1: stood on this issue. And who has that information? Who's
- 16:19Speaker 1: holding it over whose heads? It's something that we all
- 16:24Speaker 1: should be concerned about as Americans. Not as Democrats or Republicans,
- 16:27Speaker 1: but Americans. When I think about this war situation, it
- 16:33Speaker 1: reminded me of something the other day. I can remember
- 16:36Speaker 1: my father, as many of perhaps your fathers, a World
- 16:40Speaker 1: War II veteran. I can remember him arguing with many
- 16:46Speaker 1: people back in the day of Vietnam how he was
- 16:49Speaker 1: totally and completely opposed to Vietnam, and there were all
- 16:51Speaker 1: those people who really were upset by it, thinking that
- 16:54Speaker 1: whatever the country said, whatever the president said, you should
- 16:57Speaker 1: support it and just go fight for that cause. My
- 17:01Speaker 1: father never agreed with that situation from day one. And
- 17:06Speaker 1: I can remember him having those discussions with some of
- 17:10Speaker 1: his World War II colleagues at the time. He wasn't
- 17:17Speaker 1: buying a lot of what was being peddled then. It
- 17:20Speaker 1: reminds me of this situation. You know, you can have
- 17:23Speaker 1: differing opinions on this. You can see them from military experts.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Take a look at General McGregor and where he is.
- 17:35Speaker 1: A very knowledgeable man. An extremely smart man. Militarily and
- 17:42Speaker 1: history speaking. And he's really against this situation. And he
- 17:47Speaker 1: thinks Trump's in a terrible situation. I don't think he's
- 17:51Speaker 1: a dummy. I think he's a really smart guy. And
- 17:54Speaker 1: he thinks this was a major mistake. And then you
- 18:00Speaker 1: have people on the other side who do not. So
- 18:03Speaker 1: people are entitled to their opinions, but it seems so
- 18:06Speaker 1: odd for Trump. I mean, we dropped the bunker buster
- 18:08Speaker 1: and supposedly that took care of everything. Mission accomplished. See
- 18:12Speaker 1: you later. Now we dropped all these other bombs and
- 18:15Speaker 1: supposedly that took care of, they're not launching any missiles.
- 18:18Speaker 1: We got everything done. Okay. See you later. Led to
- 18:23Speaker 1: believe we're going to drop more bombs. And I don't know.
- 18:27Speaker 1: We'll see if that accomplishes anything more. But we shall see.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I mean, I certainly hope that it's, that as an American,
- 18:41Speaker 1: we can reach, in agreements here to move on from
- 18:45Speaker 1: this situation and concentrate on the things that matter most,
- 18:49Speaker 1: America first, the economy, energy independence, the things that are
- 18:53Speaker 1: affecting everyday people right now in this listening audience, financially,
- 19:02Speaker 1: more so than the threat of Iran and a nuclear weapon.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Because I know better than anything, a lot of these
- 19:09Speaker 1: people that are pro-Iran weren't even thinking about Iran and
- 19:13Speaker 1: a nuclear weapon before they were kind of sold on
- 19:16Speaker 1: it by the media coverage. They weren't up at night
- 19:21Speaker 1: concerned about Iran or thinking they would be bombed by
- 19:23Speaker 1: a nuclear weapon or any of this nonsense. They started
- 19:27Speaker 1: just mouthing what they heard on Fox or somewhere else.
- 19:37Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden, it's become the big issue. Well,
- 19:42Speaker 1: I think the big issue is inflation. I think the
- 19:45Speaker 1: big issue is the cost of gasoline. the affordability issue
- 19:55Speaker 1: these are big issues that are going to affect all
- 19:57Speaker 1: of our lives foreign aid these are all big issues
- 20:00Speaker 1: the influence of lobbyists on our government so it's okay
- 20:06Speaker 1: to disagree with Trump And you can still support him.
- 20:11Speaker 1: But that's not okay if you're a member of the cult.
- 20:13Speaker 1: A few more thoughts and phone calls ahead.
- 20:15Speaker 5: Dot com. News Radio 570.
- 20:17Speaker 6: WKVVN.
- 20:18Speaker 1: So I'm just making that point. I mean, you can
- 20:23Speaker 1: debate the war and whether it was a good idea
- 20:28Speaker 1: or a bad idea. And you should. And you can
- 20:33Speaker 1: listen to various informed opinions, whether that's McGregor or other
- 20:37Speaker 1: generals that have a deeper understanding than you and hear
- 20:40Speaker 1: their sides of it, because there's debate within their ranks.
- 20:44Speaker 1: And you can listen to that, and you should. But
- 20:49Speaker 1: this idea that somehow, unless you agree with all of this,
- 20:55Speaker 1: you're no good, Tucker Carlson says, or Massey or Marjorie
- 21:01Speaker 1: Taylor Greene or any of these other supporters is ridiculous.
- 21:08Speaker 1: You just disagree on some of those issues. And that
- 21:13Speaker 1: is America, and that is using your brain. So I
- 21:20Speaker 1: don't sit around, as I said when I started, and say, oh,
- 21:22Speaker 1: it's okay for Trump and his entire family to get
- 21:24Speaker 1: a complete banning and waiver from the IRS, something none
- 21:28Speaker 1: of you would ever get. And you'd be bitching if
- 21:33Speaker 1: Biden pulled the same thing or someone from the other party.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Or if somebody else would have started this war, if
- 21:43Speaker 1: you weren't a part of the Trump cult, as Ted says,
- 21:47Speaker 1: would have started this, you'd say, well, here we go again.
- 21:49Speaker 1: You know, because we weren't going to get into these
- 21:53Speaker 1: Middle East situations and regime change. And it seems like
- 21:57Speaker 1: that's what it's all coming down to. It seems like
- 22:01Speaker 1: we've done all of this and they haven't surrendered. They
- 22:04Speaker 1: haven't given up. And it seems like, okay, well, let's
- 22:09Speaker 1: go back and bomb some more. Well, is that going
- 22:11Speaker 1: to change anything? I hope it does. And then it
- 22:15Speaker 1: can come to a conclusion and we can get focused
- 22:21Speaker 1: on the border again and get people out of our
- 22:25Speaker 1: country that don't belong here. And we can get focused
- 22:30Speaker 1: on lowering inflation and energy costs and making life easier
- 22:35Speaker 1: on Americans. And I'm not going to sit and attack Massey.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I've said for years when they attack him, we shouldn't
- 22:43Speaker 1: be doing any foreign aid. I agree with that. I
- 22:47Speaker 1: don't give a damn if it's Egypt, Israel, or any
- 22:49Speaker 1: other country. We are broke as a country. We are
- 22:53Speaker 1: $ 40 trillion in debt, and we are broke. And I
- 23:00Speaker 1: just am convinced, many people have no clue, we take
- 23:03Speaker 1: in $ 4. 5 trillion a year in federal income tax. Well,
- 23:09Speaker 1: if you're spending way more than that, you're just making
- 23:11Speaker 1: a debt and deficit bigger, as we are. It's growing
- 23:16Speaker 1: in astronomical numbers. And as that number grows, the interest,
- 23:21Speaker 1: just paying the interest is our second biggest expense, soon
- 23:24Speaker 1: to be our first. Just paying the interest, not lowering
- 23:27Speaker 1: the amount that's owed, just paying the interest. Is that
- 23:31Speaker 1: good use of our tax dollars to pay interest? Is
- 23:36Speaker 1: that fair to future generations to stick them with that
- 23:39Speaker 1: debt for money spent now that they'll be on the
- 23:41Speaker 1: hook to pay for? Should we be doing foreign aid
- 23:44Speaker 1: when we have serious issues with the solvency of Social
- 23:48Speaker 1: Security and Medicare and Medicaid? Is it wrong to put
- 23:54Speaker 1: our American citizens first for a change? To say, I
- 24:01Speaker 1: believe we should take care of these programs like Social
- 24:04Speaker 1: Security and Medicare to make sure that they remain solvent
- 24:08Speaker 1: for our senior citizens and the promises that were made
- 24:12Speaker 1: to them. As opposed to give billions to Egypt or
- 24:16Speaker 1: Israel or any other country. Or Ukraine. Pick whichever one
- 24:21Speaker 1: you want. Just as I was offended when we were
- 24:27Speaker 1: funding all of this stuff into Ukraine. We were funding everything.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Their small businesses, their first responders, their pension system was
- 24:37Speaker 1: all funded by the American taxpayer. Everything in the Ukraine
- 24:40Speaker 1: was funded by it. At the same time, we were
- 24:43Speaker 1: crapping on American citizens. Funding all of this stuff in
- 24:50Speaker 1: the Ukraine for, and this is insanity. We're broke as
- 24:54Speaker 1: a country. We have problems in our own country that
- 24:58Speaker 1: could use that financial support as opposed to any of
- 25:00Speaker 1: these other countries. But how many people even knew that
- 25:03Speaker 1: was going on? How many people actually knew that we
- 25:05Speaker 1: were doing something like that? How many were even cognizant
- 25:10Speaker 1: that the country was doing something like that? That we
- 25:13Speaker 1: were paying for all this stuff. We were paying for
- 25:15Speaker 1: the first responders in Ukraine. We were paying for all
- 25:18Speaker 1: the fertilizers for their farmers. We were paying for their
- 25:21Speaker 1: small business supplementing all of this stuff. It's just insanity.
- 25:29Speaker 1: The reality is you can't afford it. And my concern
- 25:33Speaker 1: is it's going to reach a point where the rest
- 25:37Speaker 1: of the stuff that matters most to my fellow Americans
- 25:39Speaker 1: just implodes because of this ridiculous spending, how much interest
- 25:44Speaker 1: is eating up of our tax dollars coming in for nothing,
- 25:50Speaker 1: and programs that will implode. So there's always more to
- 26:02Speaker 1: a lot of these issues, I suspect, than meets the eye.
- 26:09Speaker 1: But I don't always believe, and I never have, what
- 26:11Speaker 1: the government's telling me. I don't care if it's Democrats
- 26:13Speaker 1: or Republicans that are in charge. I understand the great
- 26:23Speaker 1: effect lobbyists have on our system. And there's things that
- 26:31Speaker 1: I will disagree with Trump. Doesn't mean I'm going to
- 26:34Speaker 1: vote for Sherrod Brown or a Democrat. It just means
- 26:38Speaker 1: I'm disappointed with him in many of these areas. I
- 26:45Speaker 1: do think he's in a quagmire trying to figure out
- 26:47Speaker 1: how to get out of this. I mean, he'll never
- 26:50Speaker 1: admit to it. He thought this would be over much
- 26:51Speaker 1: sooner than it is. And it isn't. And it continues
- 26:53Speaker 1: to go on with no end in sight. Only problems
- 26:57Speaker 1: that are coming from it. And problems are serious in
- 27:00Speaker 1: other parts of the country. Starvation. Energy problems. Lack of
- 27:06Speaker 1: fertilizer when it comes to the food and our farmers. Inflation. Shortages.
- 27:21Speaker 1: So we shall see. I mean, we shall see as
- 27:23Speaker 1: time goes on. So that's the bottom line. It's just
- 27:26Speaker 1: like A lot of times people pick on J.J., the liberal,
- 27:30Speaker 1: but J.J. at least would call from time to time,
- 27:33Speaker 1: and he would disagree with Biden on the open border.
- 27:36Speaker 1: He supported Biden. I didn't understand it. But he says, listen,
- 27:41Speaker 1: I don't go for the open border. I don't go
- 27:43Speaker 1: for this transgender stuff. When he supported Biden, he just
- 27:46Speaker 1: didn't support that other crazy stuff of Biden. So he
- 27:54Speaker 1: wasn't a cult-like member. of supporting Joe Biden. But there
- 27:59Speaker 1: were people that were like that. Whatever Biden did, whatever
- 28:01Speaker 1: the Democrats do, it's always okay. The corruption or whatever
- 28:04Speaker 1: looked the other way. I can't understand them any more
- 28:07Speaker 1: than I can understand anybody that's the same way with
- 28:09Speaker 1: the Republicans. Mike DeWine's a Republican. I think he's terrible.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I think many of the Republicans in Congress are just...
- 28:26Speaker 1: not concerned about the debt and where the country's going
- 28:33Speaker 1: but upset let's take some calls rights again i could
- 28:36Speaker 1: go on and on and on all right so news
- 28:39Speaker 1: radio five so do you.
- 28:39Speaker 7: Know if you're in your own ear which the pharmacist
- 28:44Speaker 7: excuse me said that whether you agreed or disagreed with
- 28:48Speaker 7: the war we should all rally around the flag in
- 28:52Speaker 7: support the war i'd rather support anyone who supports a
- 28:56Speaker 7: war against inflation. And you correctly told the unknown caller
- 29:01Speaker 7: that CEOs of private corporations and the heads of government
- 29:06Speaker 7: bureaucracies require two different skill sets. For example, when a
- 29:13Speaker 7: boss tells an employee to do something and they refuse...
- 29:18Speaker 7: he or she can fire that individual. But when the
- 29:21Speaker 7: president tells the heads of bureaucracies to do something, they
- 29:25Speaker 7: can simply ignore him and stall and delay until his
- 29:29Speaker 7: term is up and he is no longer in office.
- 29:33Speaker 7: And I would say to the unknown caller that Trump
- 29:36Speaker 7: would be the worst businessman to be president because he
- 29:39Speaker 7: bankrupted all 13 businesses he ever started and is working
- 29:44Speaker 7: on bankrupting number 13 and is working on bankrupting the country,
- 29:49Speaker 7: like you said.
- 29:50Speaker 1: I don't know. It's... It's a difference in being a
- 29:57Speaker 1: CEO of a company where you can bark orders and
- 29:59Speaker 1: things are happening. I mean, there is Congress. There is
- 30:01Speaker 1: a check and balance system that does go on here.
- 30:05Speaker 1: And that's just how our system is set up. And
- 30:10Speaker 1: you have to acknowledge that.
- 30:13Speaker 7: Well, also, Jacob DeZinus thinks Margie Taylor Greene is a
- 30:17Speaker 7: bad person hypocrite because she is making money in the
- 30:21Speaker 7: stock market when she should have... represented the little guy
- 30:25Speaker 7: or gal, I looked at all of her trades, and
- 30:28Speaker 7: I guarantee you she did not make those trades. Only
- 30:33Speaker 7: a professional portfolio manager made those trades. And I disagree
- 30:38Speaker 7: with Jacob. Everyone has a right to invest in the
- 30:41Speaker 7: stock market, including Donald Trump and his sons, but no
- 30:45Speaker 7: one has the right, Jacob... to abuse their position in
- 30:49Speaker 7: government to gain an unfair advantage over the little guy investor,
- 30:54Speaker 7: like Trump and his family are doing. And Ron, if
- 30:57Speaker 7: Margie Taylor Greene had a million dollars in the market,
- 31:00Speaker 7: for example, made lots of money, then began withdrawing money
- 31:05Speaker 7: or earned interest or dividends, she would pay a lot
- 31:09Speaker 7: more in taxes if she successfully grew her money And
- 31:13Speaker 7: that would help Jacob. There would be more tax money
- 31:16Speaker 7: to kick the can down the road for Social Security
- 31:20Speaker 7: so he could get his check before he died. Now,
- 31:23Speaker 7: Jacob also repeated the new Massey hater talking point that
- 31:29Speaker 7: Trump targeted Massey because even though Massey voted for the
- 31:32Speaker 7: Trump agenda the vast majority of times, that he deserved
- 31:37Speaker 7: to be tossed out because he voted against the big,
- 31:40Speaker 7: beautiful bill. But, Ron, Trump supporters like Margie Taylor Greene
- 31:45Speaker 7: and Tucker Carlson supported his big bill, and he attacked
- 31:50Speaker 7: them as well. You can't oppose Trump on a single issue,
- 31:55Speaker 7: or he will target you. You must march in lockstep. And, Ron,
- 32:00Speaker 7: the big, beautiful bill is one of the reasons the
- 32:03Speaker 7: feds are now almost $ 40 trillion in debt.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Well, that was a massive object to the Big Beautiful Bill,
- 32:10Speaker 1: for one, because it just continued to make the debt
- 32:13Speaker 1: and deficit bigger. It continued and increased the Biden-era spending,
- 32:18Speaker 1: was the argument it was making. At what point do
- 32:21Speaker 1: we deal with this particular situation? That's a fair argument
- 32:25Speaker 1: to make, because the country is broke and it's going
- 32:27Speaker 1: down this road. Everyone thinks that these numbers mean nothing.
- 32:31Speaker 1: The people don't understand the amount of your tax, how
- 32:33Speaker 1: much tax dollars we take in, how much goes to
- 32:36Speaker 1: interest payments, and you get nothing for it when that's
- 32:39Speaker 1: your second biggest expenditure. You're not lowering the debt or deficit.
- 32:43Speaker 1: You're just, your tread water is what you're doing. So
- 32:47Speaker 1: it's foolish. And at the same time, you're not propping up,
- 32:52Speaker 1: whether that's Social Security or Medicare, or quite frankly, even Medicaid,
- 32:55Speaker 1: for we do have poor people that need health coverage
- 32:59Speaker 1: in that sense, or any other program in America for Americans.
- 33:04Speaker 1: I would rather start there than in any other country.
- 33:08Speaker 7: And didn't Trump run on the promise to balance the budget?
- 33:15Speaker 7: national dept job put ron paul in charge of the
- 33:20Speaker 7: fed in order to stop inflation you know during the
- 33:23Speaker 7: administration's of brocco bombing joe biden how many times did
- 33:28Speaker 7: we hear about how republicans were the answer to all
- 33:32Speaker 7: those big spending Democrats who are bankrupting our country.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Conservatives, smaller government, lower taxes, raining in spending. Remember Ronald Reagan?
- 33:42Speaker 1: We don't have a taxing problem, we have a spending problem. Well,
- 33:45Speaker 1: we still do. And it's getting worse. Not better. Not better.
- 33:51Speaker 7: Yeah, if only American voters would put those fiscally responsible
- 33:56Speaker 7: Republicans in charge of both houses of Congress and the presidency...
- 34:01Speaker 7: we were repeatedly told fiscal responsibility returned to the federal government. But,
- 34:08Speaker 7: you know, during Trump's first term in office, when Republicans
- 34:12Speaker 7: did control both houses of Congress, the federal debt increased
- 34:18Speaker 7: by almost $ 8 trillion.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it certainly is a problem. All right, Frank,
- 34:24Speaker 1: thank you. You're on the air.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Hello.
- 34:27Speaker 8: Hey there, good afternoon. You know... This process, or were
- 34:31Speaker 8: the conservative Republicans, because I am a Republican, but I'm
- 34:35Speaker 8: not a conservative Republican. I would never be that way.
- 34:38Speaker 8: And our dear friend in the morning, him and I
- 34:40Speaker 8: would go around about that, and he just couldn't understand
- 34:43Speaker 8: what I was saying. Conservative Republicans, as far as I
- 34:46Speaker 8: was concerned, were the rhinos. Take in point, 10 years, 15,
- 34:52Speaker 8: or maybe 10 or 12 years ago, when House Senator,
- 34:55Speaker 8: I think it was, was the Speaker of the House,
- 34:58Speaker 8: here in Ohio, got caught, and they went to put
- 35:00Speaker 8: another guy in there. And some of the Republicans agreed
- 35:05Speaker 8: with the Democrats on who should take his place. And
- 35:09Speaker 8: for the first thing, started screaming out of those conservative
- 35:11Speaker 8: Republicans are, they're nothing but a bunch of rhinos. They're
- 35:15Speaker 8: nothing but a bunch of rhinos. Till three days later,
- 35:18Speaker 8: one of the Republicans called up and said, let's get
- 35:22Speaker 8: this straight. We as a group voted together as we
- 35:28Speaker 8: should to make a new to put another speaker the
- 35:31Speaker 8: house yet it had nothing to do with being a
- 35:34Speaker 8: rhino they just wanted their way and they didn't care
- 35:39Speaker 8: now that's and all and now ghost is trying to
- 35:42Speaker 8: get rid of that uh..
- 35:44Speaker 9: Uh..
- 35:46Speaker 8: Uh... judgment or court thing for the whole state university
- 35:50Speaker 8: pedophile doctor he wants to drop that whole thing and
- 35:55Speaker 8: the whole state university which is the one Jim Jordan
- 35:59Speaker 8: was at, have paid over $ 30 million in hush money
- 36:06Speaker 8: or to compensate for what that doctor did to them people.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Well, it comes down to, listen, the Republicans are in charge,
- 36:13Speaker 1: and apparently we got a lot of fraud going on
- 36:16Speaker 1: here with some of the people here. We hear about
- 36:20Speaker 1: it in Minnesota, whether it's Somalis or Haitians or whatever
- 36:23Speaker 1: the situation is in Ohio. But apparently we got a
- 36:26Speaker 1: lot of corruption that's been taking place here, money that's
- 36:29Speaker 1: been stolen that we hear about in Minnesota, very much
- 36:32Speaker 1: here in the state of Ohio. Well, where's our Attorney General?
- 36:38Speaker 1: Where is our All East Republican office holder? Stand by.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I'll get back to you in a minute. And other callers,
- 36:45Speaker 1: stand by. Back with more in a bit. 3.52 in
- 36:47Speaker 1: the afternoon. Ron Furb, back in a minute.
- 36:52Speaker 5: All right.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Back to it. News Radio 570 WKBN. And let's see.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Where was I here? Where was I? All right, so
- 37:06Speaker 1: you take a look at DeWine as a Republican, and
- 37:11Speaker 1: I don't care for him. For example, he made a
- 37:14Speaker 1: decision that when data centers build and buy their materials,
- 37:18Speaker 1: they don't have to pay sales tax on it. As
- 37:21Speaker 1: I say, if you build a garage, you've got to
- 37:23Speaker 1: pay sales tax on the materials. But a data center,
- 37:25Speaker 1: which is spending tons of money, is waived on it?
- 37:29Speaker 1: That doesn't make any sense to me. And so..
- 37:32Speaker 8: It don't make any sense to me either.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Stand by. I got my news and I come back
- 37:36Speaker 1: to you. Just bear with me here.
- 37:43Speaker 10: From ABC News.
- 37:46Speaker 11: I'm Mike Dabusky. The case against Kilmar Abrego-Garcia has been dismissed,
- 37:50Speaker 11: with a judge saying the federal government's case against him
- 37:53Speaker 11: had a vindictive motive. Abrego-Garcia had been facing human smuggling charges.
- 37:58Speaker 11: He was also wrongfully deported to El Salvador last year
- 38:02Speaker 11: and served time at that country's notorious Seacott prison. The
- 38:05Speaker 11: Trump administration's so-called anti-weaponization fund is now facing a second
- 38:10Speaker 11: federal lawsuit, this time from a coalition of nonprofits and individuals,
- 38:14Speaker 11: including a former January 6th prosecutor. They allege the fund
- 38:17Speaker 11: bypasses Congress's authority over federal spending. ABC News Chief White
- 38:21Speaker 11: House Correspondent Mary Bruce says it's not the only place
- 38:24Speaker 11: the idea is facing pushback.
- 38:26Speaker 12: Republicans are demanding answers and refusing to approve more funding
- 38:30Speaker 12: for the president's immigration crackdown until they get them. Acting
- 38:34Speaker 12: Attorney General Todd Blanch scrambling to the hill. For over
- 38:38Speaker 12: two hours, Blanch getting an earful. Republicans yelling at him.
- 38:42Speaker 12: Some of the president's most ardent supporters telling the acting
- 38:45Speaker 12: attorney general that the president's fund... will cost them the
- 38:48Speaker 12: majority in the upcoming midterms.
- 38:50Speaker 11: Kevin Warsh sworn in today at the White House as
- 38:52Speaker 11: chairman of the Federal Reserve.
- 38:54Speaker 13: Our mandate at the Fed is to promote price stability
- 38:58Speaker 13: and maximum employment. When we pursue those aims with wisdom
- 39:02Speaker 13: and clarity, independence and resolve, inflation can be lower. growth stronger.
- 39:10Speaker 11: The World Health Organization is warning that Ebola is spreading
- 39:13Speaker 11: rapidly across the Democratic Republic of the Congo, upgrading the
- 39:16Speaker 11: national risk there to very high.
- 39:18Speaker 14: Dr.
- 39:19Speaker 11: Kent Brantley became infected with Ebola during the 2014 outbreak.
- 39:23Speaker 1: He spoke with ABC News.
- 39:24Speaker 11: Although we've developed lots of therapeutics and vaccines for Ebola,
- 39:28Speaker 11: they've not been targeted at this strain.
- 39:30Speaker 5: This is a different strain, the Bundabugio strain.
- 39:33Speaker 15: And so we don't have the usual tools that have
- 39:36Speaker 15: been used over the last 10 years or so to
- 39:38Speaker 15: fight these outbreaks.
- 39:39Speaker 14: You're listening to ABC News.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Back to it. News Radio 570. You're on the air.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Ron.
- 39:45Speaker 16: Yes.
- 39:50Speaker 17: Oh, Ron, I've been listening. I listened all the way
- 39:54Speaker 17: to Michigan about all this Trump. Listen, everybody has a
- 39:58Speaker 17: right to disagree with Trump. And I understand how some
- 40:03Speaker 17: people would find this super disturbing, the fact that he
- 40:06Speaker 17: got this DOJ tax.
- 40:08Speaker 18: You're not going to look into his taxes.
- 40:11Speaker 17: But what people seem to forget is if you were Trump,
- 40:15Speaker 17: What would you do? Let's not forget the fact that
- 40:18Speaker 17: they sued this man from one side of the country
- 40:21Speaker 17: to the other. Russia, Russia, Russia, two impeachments, Ukraine phone call,
- 40:26Speaker 17: New York business fraud. They valued Mar-a-Lago at like, I
- 40:30Speaker 17: don't know, something insane. All the January 6th, the classified
- 40:34Speaker 17: documents BS, the Georgia election case, all the civil lawsuits.
- 40:39Speaker 17: And we're questioning why would he want this? Why would
- 40:44Speaker 17: he want this agreement? It doesn't take a nuclear scientist
- 40:48Speaker 17: to figure out why he would want this for.
- 40:50Speaker 9: Him and his kids.
- 40:51Speaker 17: They have shown that they will do anything and everything
- 40:55Speaker 17: that they can in their power to destroy him. Now,
- 40:59Speaker 17: people are upset about the Iran. I get it because
- 41:03Speaker 17: everybody wants economic stability. Everybody wants the war to end.
- 41:08Speaker 17: I do too.
- 41:09Speaker 9: I'm sick of paying at the pump too.
- 41:12Speaker 17: But we are, Americans are like, we need resolution today,
- 41:16Speaker 17: right now, today.
- 41:17Speaker 2: We want it solved today.
- 41:18Speaker 17: Everybody knows the timeline that's pending, right? That's the election
- 41:22Speaker 17: coming up. We have to give them the time. We
- 41:25Speaker 17: got to give them the time. And if it blocks,
- 41:27Speaker 17: then everybody, you know, and everybody should be questioning it.
- 41:31Speaker 2: I agree with that.
- 41:32Speaker 17: There's days I question it more than others. But overall,
- 41:35Speaker 17: we have to give them a little bit of time.
- 41:38Speaker 17: Before we have to burn the whole house down. Can't
- 41:40Speaker 17: we give them a little time before we burn the
- 41:42Speaker 17: house to the ground? That's all I'm saying.
- 41:46Speaker 2: And if it was you and they sued your daughter,
- 41:49Speaker 2: your son, your wife, every person.
- 41:51Speaker 17: You knew and through every lawsuit tied you up.
- 41:54Speaker 19: In court, you know, tried to bankrupt you. Do you
- 41:58Speaker 19: see why he might want to do this?
- 42:01Speaker 1: Oh, I absolutely see why he would want to do it.
- 42:04Speaker 1: And you should, and I would.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Do it too.
- 42:06Speaker 17: And any reasonable person would do it. Not because you
- 42:10Speaker 17: have something to hide. Listen, they've already gone through all this,
- 42:13Speaker 17: finances a million different ways sideways. I mean..
- 42:16Speaker 1: Well, let's back up here.
- 42:17Speaker 18: I'm getting an.
- 42:18Speaker 17: Aye-aye, Captain, because I deserve one on that.
- 42:20Speaker 1: You know I.
- 42:21Speaker 5: Crushed that point.
- 42:22Speaker 19: I crushed it. I crushed it.
- 42:24Speaker 1: You know, sit down here, Beavis. Now listen to this.
- 42:28Speaker 17: No, I don't want Beavis. Give me a different name.
- 42:30Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Settle down, Beavis. Don't you remember that?
- 42:33Speaker 17: I'm going to give you a nickname.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Here is the deal. I mean, everyone should realize what
- 42:40Speaker 1: brought this on to begin with. I mean, you had
- 42:42Speaker 1: somebody at the IRS that leaked the tax returns. Tax
- 42:47Speaker 1: returns are privates. They're not supposed to be made public.
- 42:50Speaker 1: I'll give fault where fault goes. So you had a
- 42:53Speaker 1: person there that leaked Trump's personal tax return, which is
- 42:57Speaker 1: against the law. Also, Sean Hannity's and other conservatives. All right,
- 43:01Speaker 1: so the guy literally in his position with the IRS
- 43:04Speaker 1: stole this information and released it. And I blame him,
- 43:07Speaker 1: and he is in jail. In addition to that, though,
- 43:12Speaker 1: I blame the media because I blame the New York
- 43:15Speaker 1: Times and the media that took information that was stolen
- 43:19Speaker 1: and should have never been published because it was stolen
- 43:21Speaker 1: in private and published it anyway because of their hatred
- 43:25Speaker 1: of Trump. or Sean Hannity, or conservatives. So they publish
- 43:32Speaker 1: this stuff mainly because of conservatives, and that's why they
- 43:37Speaker 1: put it out there, Hannity's and more. And these media
- 43:42Speaker 1: entities should be sued and should have to make these
- 43:45Speaker 1: individuals whole as a result of putting out this stolen information.
- 43:51Speaker 1: They should be on the hook for it because they
- 43:54Speaker 1: were the ones that... made it public. Now, hang on.
- 43:58Speaker 1: So they have liability on this. And if I go
- 44:02Speaker 1: one step further, okay, so they put this fund together
- 44:06Speaker 1: as a settlement with him. That's all well and good.
- 44:11Speaker 1: That tax return should have never been let go to
- 44:13Speaker 1: begin with. But to get a blanket waiver..
- 44:17Speaker 14: What has Biden done?
- 44:19Speaker 17: And I'm not saying just because one does it, the.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Other one has to do it. What Biden did was
- 44:26Speaker 1: he did all this stuff for his family. Now, if
- 44:29Speaker 1: Trump leaves and pardons his family, I guess you could say, well,
- 44:32Speaker 1: what's the big deal? Biden did it as well. So
- 44:35Speaker 1: is that where we want to go, though, as a
- 44:38Speaker 1: country where your family can get away with stuff?
- 44:40Speaker 4: No.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Listen, I don't know. I haven't read enough about it,
- 44:43Speaker 1: but I see people talking a lot about the Trump
- 44:46Speaker 1: kids that you don't see a lot of are making
- 44:49Speaker 1: a ton of money. No, no, no. This is outside that.
- 44:55Speaker 1: But I don't know. I don't know enough about it
- 44:58Speaker 1: yet to say one way or the other. But if
- 45:00Speaker 1: it's if it's the case, if they are making money
- 45:02Speaker 1: because of their father, their father's position, it doesn't make
- 45:06Speaker 1: it any more right than when Hunter Biden was doing
- 45:09Speaker 1: it because of his dad's position. You follow what I'm saying?
- 45:12Speaker 1: If you got one.
- 45:12Speaker 19: Standard for one, then you.
- 45:14Speaker 1: By God better have it for the other side.
- 45:17Speaker 17: I understand that. And I agree with that.
- 45:19Speaker 19: I'm saying that is smart.
- 45:21Speaker 17: It is smart to put protections in place as soon
- 45:24Speaker 17: as he leaves office. And if we lose the Senator
- 45:28Speaker 17: of the House or both, they're going to impeach him.
- 45:32Speaker 17: And they're going to start suing him all over again.
- 45:34Speaker 14: I would do this.
- 45:35Speaker 17: They dragged him to hell. They called him everything from
- 45:38Speaker 17: a traitor to this to that. They made him, they
- 45:41Speaker 17: dragged him through the mud for years.
- 45:45Speaker 19: All politically motivated.
- 45:47Speaker 17: I would do the same thing.
- 45:49Speaker 4: And I would do it for my children.
- 45:51Speaker 17: I would do it for anybody who was around me
- 45:52Speaker 17: that I had to protect. It makes no sense. Trump
- 45:55Speaker 17: has had a bazillion dollars before. He'll have a bazillion
- 45:58Speaker 17: dollars after. He doesn't need the money anymore. And I
- 46:02Speaker 17: could totally understand why he would do that. And I
- 46:05Speaker 17: think you could, too, because we know how.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Bad it was.
- 46:08Speaker 17: I mean, and would they value Mar-a-Lago at? It was
- 46:12Speaker 17: like something insane. I mean, just any way that they could.
- 46:16Speaker 17: They had him tied up in lawsuits. He couldn't even campaign.
- 46:18Speaker 17: He couldn't move. He couldn't move. I mean, it was
- 46:23Speaker 17: like he had to be in court hearings, and he
- 46:25Speaker 17: couldn't even be on the campaign trail. It was all strategic.
- 46:29Speaker 17: These people are crazy. They will stop at nothing. And
- 46:33Speaker 17: in regards to.
- 46:34Speaker 2: This war, we.
- 46:36Speaker 17: Do not have to burn the whole building down. Yes,
- 46:38Speaker 17: we question and we should question. We're not bobbleheads. We're
- 46:41Speaker 17: not mental midgets. We need to have brains and be
- 46:43Speaker 17: thinking what is going on, questioning it. Do we like it?
- 46:47Speaker 8: We don't like it.
- 46:49Speaker 17: But you don't burn the house to the ground in
- 46:51Speaker 17: this short amount of time. He knows the deadline. I mean,
- 46:54Speaker 17: he knows it's approaching. And by the end of this summer,
- 46:57Speaker 17: there hasn't been something that is either driving prices down
- 47:01Speaker 17: or we haven't handled Iran. And that hasn't concluded. He
- 47:07Speaker 17: knows we're in trouble. I believe he's going to do
- 47:10Speaker 17: everything he possibly can do to stop that. I mean,
- 47:13Speaker 17: do we think he wants us to lose seats? And
- 47:20Speaker 17: I'm irritated with it, too.
- 47:21Speaker 2: I mean, it cost me like.
- 47:23Speaker 17: $ 80 to fill out my... I just drove four hours
- 47:27Speaker 17: to Michigan and back. I get it. And everything is
- 47:31Speaker 17: more expensive. But we want everything right now. We want
- 47:36Speaker 17: it right now in this country. We have little tolerance.
- 47:40Speaker 17: And I think we would all say..
- 47:43Speaker 19: If not him, then who?
- 47:45Speaker 17: The alternative, and you know this, you agree with this,
- 47:49Speaker 17: is insane. So we've elected him because we think he is,
- 47:54Speaker 17: you know, the art of the deal. He's strategic minded.
- 47:56Speaker 17: Is he arrogant? Absolutely. Does he make me crazy sometimes?
- 48:00Speaker 17: Sometimes there's words that come out of his mouth. I
- 48:02Speaker 17: wish I could reach through the phone and grab him
- 48:03Speaker 17: by his neck. Or say, are you stupid? Like, why
- 48:07Speaker 17: would you say that? There's a million times where I
- 48:10Speaker 17: want to, like, literally scream. Forget to put the lesser
- 48:14Speaker 17: of the evils. Like, the stuff that comes out of
- 48:17Speaker 17: his mouth or the.
- 48:18Speaker 19: Policies that he, you know, or the closed border.
- 48:20Speaker 17: I've got to pick. And, you know, Trump, listen, people say, oh,
- 48:27Speaker 17: Trump's vindictive. I mean, he just goes after it. I
- 48:30Speaker 17: totally hate, I hate that he does it.
- 48:33Speaker 18: I hate it.
- 48:34Speaker 17: It sickens me.
- 48:36Speaker 19: Trump wasn't any different four.
- 48:37Speaker 17: Years ago, just so everybody listening knows.
- 48:41Speaker 6: Never tolerated.
- 48:43Speaker 19: You were either on his team or.
- 48:44Speaker 17: You were against him. He has not changed. He wants
- 48:48Speaker 17: all the players on the field moving in the same
- 48:50Speaker 17: motion with the same goal.
- 48:51Speaker 19: He's always been that way.
- 48:53Speaker 17: And if he even smells that you disagree with him,
- 48:55Speaker 17: he don't want to on his team.
- 48:57Speaker 19: Now, he elected that.
- 48:58Speaker 17: You're going to cry about it today. That's my thought,
- 49:05Speaker 17: and I think I should get an IR captain, and
- 49:07Speaker 17: I'm not Beavis. You can come up with another name.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Don't give me Beavis.
- 49:10Speaker 17: I'm going to give you Beavis.
- 49:11Speaker 1: All right. I'll go with Butthead then.
- 49:13Speaker 20: All right.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Have a great week.
- 49:17Speaker 19: Ring the bell. Where's your bell?
- 49:19Speaker 14: Go ahead and ring it.
- 49:20Speaker 4: It.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Wait a minute.
- 49:20Speaker 13: Hang on.
- 49:21Speaker 18: Hang on.
- 49:22Speaker 17: Ring it because I crushed it, Ron.
- 49:24Speaker 1: You're awful demanding.
- 49:27Speaker 19: Oh, I just want to get it out.
- 49:28Speaker 17: That was... I get it standing over that, and you're
- 49:31Speaker 17: going to be standing and trying not to give it
- 49:33Speaker 17: to me.
- 49:33Speaker 19: But I already know that you know that I know.
- 49:35Speaker 13: So here's that.
- 49:37Speaker 1: There you go, Sam. There you go. That's enough. All right.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Have a great weekend. NewsRadio 570, Dodie Kim, you're on
- 49:43Speaker 1: the air.
- 49:43Speaker 18: Ron, how you doing?
- 49:46Speaker 2: Good.
- 49:46Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 49:48Speaker 10: Hey, it's kind of interesting listening to that last caller.
- 49:54Speaker 4: You know, she..
- 49:56Speaker 1: It's very interesting.
- 49:56Speaker 10: When you listen to people who are defending Trump, especially
- 50:00Speaker 10: on Iran, talking about inflation, the economy, the basically only
- 50:07Speaker 10: reason or the only justification you hear from people is that, well,
- 50:11Speaker 10: we have to give him time.
- 50:13Speaker 8: I trust him.
- 50:15Speaker 10: We need to give him more time. There's never any, like,
- 50:18Speaker 10: reasons given for why we should support Trump with his
- 50:23Speaker 10: war on Iran, why people think it's worth it. It's
- 50:27Speaker 10: all just trust. You've got to trust him. So I
- 50:30Speaker 10: think those arguments are extremely weak. And basically, that's what
- 50:35Speaker 10: Trump's suffering so bad in the polls right now. Now,
- 50:38Speaker 10: the other thing I wanted to talk about is, you know,
- 50:42Speaker 10: talking about the economy and Most people are actually, Frank
- 50:48Speaker 10: was kind of talking about it, like, you know, some
- 50:50Speaker 10: people think that, oh, we should have, like, a businessman
- 50:52Speaker 10: who runs the economy or is in charge of our government.
- 50:57Speaker 10: That doesn't even make sense. The point of a business
- 51:01Speaker 10: owner or a CEO or someone who's a head of
- 51:04Speaker 10: a company is to make money for that company, okay?
- 51:09Speaker 10: If you have a person who's a head of the U.S.
- 51:11Speaker 10: government and their job is to make money for the U.S. government,
- 51:16Speaker 10: the only way the U.S. government can make money, I mean,
- 51:18Speaker 10: they can make some investments outside the country and things
- 51:22Speaker 10: like that, but is to take money out of the
- 51:25Speaker 10: private sector and to put it in the public sector.
- 51:29Speaker 10: That would be the only way for the U.S. government
- 51:33Speaker 10: to make money. Now, if you actually want to look
- 51:37Speaker 10: at like a chart, you could pull this up, you
- 51:39Speaker 10: could look at the the amount of money that the
- 51:42Speaker 10: private sector has, like private sector profits, and you can
- 51:47Speaker 10: compare that against.
- 51:48Speaker 4: Public sector debt.
- 51:50Speaker 10: Now, this is, I could send you the chart if
- 51:53Speaker 10: you're interested. They exactly mirror each other. So there is
- 51:58Speaker 10: no way for a private business to make money unless
- 52:03Speaker 10: the government has produced money and handed that money out
- 52:07Speaker 10: into the economy for people to make money. So that's
- 52:10Speaker 10: what people, when people refer to the debt, when people say, oh,
- 52:14Speaker 10: there's a $ 40 trillion debt on our government, well, yeah,
- 52:19Speaker 10: because they've put $ 40 trillion into our economy. They've given
- 52:24Speaker 10: money to pensions funds. They give money to private businesses.
- 52:28Speaker 10: They give money to all these institutional investors. That is
- 52:32Speaker 10: literally the only way. That is, in fact, how our
- 52:37Speaker 10: economy works. Now, I think it's a legitimate concern to say, well,
- 52:43Speaker 10: maybe the government shouldn't put all that much money into
- 52:47Speaker 10: the economy. Okay, that's one argument, but that means the
- 52:53Speaker 10: only way to reduce that deficit is to take money
- 52:57Speaker 10: out of private citizens' hands and put it back into
- 53:00Speaker 10: the government. And the debt that's owed by the government...
- 53:07Speaker 10: is owned by, I've already kind of mentioned it, pension funds,
- 53:12Speaker 10: institutional investors, things like that. So if the government were
- 53:16Speaker 10: forced to pay those out, all those people who made
- 53:19Speaker 10: those investments by buying treasuries and things like that, they
- 53:22Speaker 10: would get less of a return than they expected. So
- 53:27Speaker 10: most people are extremely confused about what it means for
- 53:31Speaker 10: our government to have a debt, what it means when
- 53:34Speaker 10: the government creates money. things like that, people are just
- 53:37Speaker 10: extremely confused about it all.
- 53:40Speaker 1: I don't know that that's confusing. Debt isn't a good
- 53:43Speaker 1: thing for the government to have because, as I said,
- 53:46Speaker 1: your second biggest expense is solely the interest on the debt,
- 53:50Speaker 1: not lowering it, and it continues to grow. So, I mean,
- 53:54Speaker 1: so the reality is of your $ 4. 5 trillion coming in
- 53:57Speaker 1: a year and your federal income tax dollars, your second
- 54:01Speaker 1: biggest expense is the interest on it. You've got to
- 54:04Speaker 1: cut spending and you've got to get them.
- 54:06Speaker 10: Who are they paying that interest to?
- 54:09Speaker 1: Well, in many cases, I don't care if it's China
- 54:12Speaker 1: or Japan or American investors, it doesn't make it right.
- 54:16Speaker 1: It isn't a good thing when so much of your
- 54:19Speaker 1: tax dollars are going to pay for nothing other than
- 54:23Speaker 1: interest going out as opposed to using it for other purposes.
- 54:29Speaker 10: But the government's not forcing people to borrow or to
- 54:33Speaker 10: buy government debt.
- 54:35Speaker 1: Well, it's becoming more and more difficult. It's becoming more difficult.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Stand by. Stand by.
- 54:41Speaker 20: Hang on.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Finish my conversation with him. Take more of your calls
- 54:45Speaker 1: straight ahead. 422 Ron Verb from the Kingdom of Mali.
- 54:49Speaker 5: 570 WKBN.
- 54:51Speaker 1: So then according to your philosophy, then, it doesn't matter
- 54:54Speaker 1: to you if the debt's $ 40 trillion or $ 100 trillion.
- 55:00Speaker 10: Yeah, that's right. If you look at Japan's debt to GDP,
- 55:05Speaker 10: they're almost like double. We're basically like we're about as
- 55:10Speaker 10: much in debt as we make in GDP a year.
- 55:14Speaker 10: If you look at Japan, they're about double. They're about
- 55:16Speaker 10: double in debt over their GDP. Now, I mean, there's
- 55:19Speaker 10: a lot of reasons why you wouldn't want to do that.
- 55:22Speaker 10: Maybe the government's making bad investments. Maybe you think they're
- 55:26Speaker 10: not going to be able to make their payments on
- 55:28Speaker 10: that stuff in the future. You know, that's all like
- 55:30Speaker 10: completely legitimate. Like, you know, I think it's a really
- 55:33Speaker 10: bad idea for the government to go into debt in
- 55:36Speaker 10: order to spend money on a war in Iran. I
- 55:39Speaker 10: think that's a terrible investment. But, you know, an investment like, hey,
- 55:44Speaker 10: let's spend some money on Medicaid so that, you know,
- 55:50Speaker 10: we don't have as much, you know, pain and suffering
- 55:53Speaker 10: throughout the society. People can actually see the doctors they
- 55:55Speaker 10: want to. Well, I think that's a good investment. You know,
- 55:58Speaker 10: but that's exactly the opposite of how conservatives and Republicans
- 56:03Speaker 10: view it. And I think it's actually, like, really detrimental
- 56:07Speaker 10: to our economy. You know, what they say is, you know,
- 56:11Speaker 10: we're Republicans, we want less taxes, smaller government. I mean, yeah,
- 56:16Speaker 10: I agree they want less taxes. They don't want smaller government.
- 56:19Speaker 10: I mean, look at what George W.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Bush did.
- 56:23Speaker 10: He lowered taxes and increased spending on wars. That is
- 56:28Speaker 10: the exact same thing Trump is doing.
- 56:31Speaker 6: He did the.
- 56:32Speaker 10: Big bullcrap bill, and he lowered taxes on the wealthiest
- 56:38Speaker 10: citizens in our society, the wealthiest companies, and then he's
- 56:43Speaker 10: borrowing more to go to a war in Iran. Or
- 56:50Speaker 10: he's taking health care away from people who are disabled
- 56:54Speaker 10: who deserve Medicaid. I think it's absolute insanity. It is
- 57:00Speaker 10: such poor investing. And it's just sad to me that
- 57:05Speaker 10: most people don't really understand that that's how the economy works.
- 57:08Speaker 1: Do you think Trump is wrong by saying, or the
- 57:11Speaker 1: Republicans are wrong saying, if you're 25 years old and
- 57:14Speaker 1: of work age, that you shouldn't be able to sit
- 57:16Speaker 1: on your ass and get Medicaid? That you've got to
- 57:19Speaker 1: grow up and go get a job with benefits?
- 57:21Speaker 10: Well, it would be Medicare.
- 57:23Speaker 1: Do you know what it would be? No, it would
- 57:26Speaker 1: not be Medicare. Medicare is only for the elderly. I'm
- 57:29Speaker 1: talking Medicaid.
- 57:30Speaker 6: You're right, Medicaid.
- 57:31Speaker 10: Yeah, you're right. Do you know what it takes to
- 57:34Speaker 10: apply for Medicaid?
- 57:36Speaker 1: I've never been on it, but this was the argument
- 57:38Speaker 1: when they said, oh, he's taking away Medicaid from young people. No,
- 57:44Speaker 1: they said merely you shouldn't be. He wasn't taking it
- 57:46Speaker 1: away from. There's a couple of things as I back up.
- 57:49Speaker 1: They wanted to take away the additional supplements that the
- 57:53Speaker 1: Democrats put in with a five-year time limit. frame on
- 57:57Speaker 1: it that the Democrats put in, that this should sunset
- 58:00Speaker 1: after five years during COVID. So during COVID, they weren't
- 58:04Speaker 1: supposed to come to an end. They weren't supposed to
- 58:06Speaker 1: be permanent. So it was a misconception to begin with.
- 58:10Speaker 1: So consequently, it just went back to where it was
- 58:12Speaker 1: before the additional supplements were there.
- 58:14Speaker 10: I already explained to you why spending on health care
- 58:16Speaker 10: is a good investment. Spending on war is a bad investment.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Well, we're still spending on health care. We're just not
- 58:21Speaker 1: spending as much with the additional supplements that were put
- 58:25Speaker 1: there for COVID. It was not meant to be permanent.
- 58:28Speaker 10: People who are not on health care. who aren't covered.
- 58:32Speaker 1: Is there personal responsibility in this society at all? Do
- 58:35Speaker 1: you have any personal responsibility? I say this all the time,
- 58:39Speaker 1: and I would ask you this question. When I grew up,
- 58:41Speaker 1: my father covered me with health care. When I became
- 58:43Speaker 1: an adult, as he said, you either find a job
- 58:45Speaker 1: that has it or you go out and buy it
- 58:47Speaker 1: on your own. It's called growing up and being personally responsible.
- 58:50Speaker 8: Don't you think?
- 58:51Speaker 10: I've got a really simple response to that.
- 58:53Speaker 1: All right, stand by. I want to hear it when
- 58:54Speaker 1: I do my headlines, and I'll come back. And listen
- 58:56Speaker 1: to it right after this. NewsRadio 570.
- 58:58Speaker 4: WKVN.
- 58:59Speaker 1: Stay tuned. A tire sale.
- 59:01Speaker 5: NewsRadio 570. WKVN.
- 59:03Speaker 1: All right. More of your calls straight ahead. 434. It's
- 59:06Speaker 1: 63 degrees on this Friday, May 22nd.
- 59:10Speaker 21: 22nd.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Ron Verb, News Radio 570 WKV from the Kingdom of Mahoning.
- 59:14Speaker 1: Do you believe, then, that an individual should have personal
- 59:17Speaker 1: responsibility for their decisions and their behavior?
- 59:21Speaker 10: Yeah, of course.
- 59:23Speaker 1: So I mean, when you're talking about, see, you always
- 59:28Speaker 1: make these things sound so vicious. So is it wrong
- 59:31Speaker 1: to say that a 25-year-old, as I said, as growing up,
- 59:37Speaker 1: I don't know how your life worked, but you were
- 59:39Speaker 1: probably covered by your parents' hospitalization. Then as you got older,
- 59:42Speaker 1: you either found a job that had it or you
- 59:44Speaker 1: went out and bought it. Those were your options. It's
- 59:46Speaker 1: called being an adult growing up. The argument was you
- 59:50Speaker 1: can't sit at 25 years old, do nothing with your life,
- 59:53Speaker 1: and expect the taxpayers on an able-bodied young man or
- 59:57Speaker 1: woman to pay for your health care. Nor should we
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: pay for it. At some point, you need to kick
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: any ass in the personal responsibility. Just as if you
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: make bad decisions, you have to suffer the consequences. If
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: you choose to smoke and you come down with heart
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: disease or lung cancer, that isn't my fault. That's a
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: decision you made. And those consequences will be suffered by you.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know. where you go with that
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: type of mentality. Now, if you're saying to me, would
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: I would rather see my tax dollars spent on my
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: fellow Americans? Yes, as opposed to any foreign country. That's
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: where I agree with Massey completely. I am totally opposed
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: to foreign aid because we got enough problems in this country.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: And I'm not opposed to people getting unemployment because it
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: means they were employed. I'm not opposed to Social Security
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: because it means people You worked and earned that. That's
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: an earned benefit. I'm not opposed to Medicare. It means
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: you worked and you earned that. And I'm not even
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: opposed to Medicaid for people that are truly disabled and
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: need that assistance and or we see many cases that
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: are responsible people and they lose everything because of being
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: in a nursing home. I fully understand that as well.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: As I say, everybody's one bankruptcy away from one major
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: illness away from bankruptcy. So I get all of that.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: I'm not opposed to that. that type of spending. But
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: the philosophy that you have that, oh, debt is good
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: when it comes to government, it is not good. When
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: this much of your yearly tax dollars coming in is
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: going to pay the interest, that is not good return
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: on the money you're taking from your citizens for the
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: tax dollars. You're living beyond your means as a country.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: at that point, and you can't continue to do that
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: and grow it. Because as you grow that debt, as
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: the interest rates can go up, then that becomes your
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: number one expense, or the economy collapses. So, no, you
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: have to get rid of the debt. You don't put
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: it on future generations. You don't act like it's a
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: good thing. We are having difficulties getting rid of some
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: of these T-bills and bonds now. Countries do go bankrupt,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: and they do go insolvent. And I don't want to
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: see that.
- 1:02:13Speaker 10: Yeah, I completely agree. I mean, America is making horrible
- 1:02:16Speaker 10: investments right now.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:02:18Speaker 10: I mean, that's why the bond market is going down.
- 1:02:20Speaker 10: The dollar is going down. I mean, just in the
- 1:02:23Speaker 10: last year, it's, you know, 10, 10, 15, 20 percent
- 1:02:25Speaker 10: down the dollar.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: And there's concern about the petrodollar.
- 1:02:31Speaker 10: And Republicans are good. They prefer that. They don't think
- 1:02:35Speaker 10: that the dollar should be controlled by the government. The
- 1:02:39Speaker 10: dollar should be a free-floating private asset, basically. That's what
- 1:02:47Speaker 10: most conservatives think. That's why they favor a Bitcoin and
- 1:02:50Speaker 10: things like that. But I wanted to respond to you
- 1:02:52Speaker 10: about the personal responsibility of a 25-year-old. I mean, yeah,
- 1:03:00Speaker 10: I completely agree. Yeah, if you're 25 years old and
- 1:03:03Speaker 10: you're should be able to work, yeah, I don't think
- 1:03:07Speaker 10: you should qualify for Medicaid. You know, I mean, that's
- 1:03:10Speaker 10: why they have all those tests that you have to do,
- 1:03:13Speaker 10: forms you have to fill out, you have to prove
- 1:03:15Speaker 10: that you're not able to work. You know, and I
- 1:03:19Speaker 10: would kind of flip it on you, and I would say, well,
- 1:03:22Speaker 10: doesn't our society have a responsibility to those people who
- 1:03:25Speaker 10: are injured? Like, let's say you have epilepsy and you
- 1:03:29Speaker 10: can't be employed. Like, there's no..
- 1:03:32Speaker 18: It's a business owner, which I am.
- 1:03:33Speaker 10: A business owner has a responsibility to make money for
- 1:03:37Speaker 10: their business. So you can't hire someone who's disabled. You
- 1:03:41Speaker 10: can't just pay those people just out of the goodness
- 1:03:44Speaker 10: of your heart.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: That's irresponsible. Nor am I saying..
- 1:03:47Speaker 10: Someone has to take care of those people. And I
- 1:03:50Speaker 10: believe it's all of us that have to do that.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: Well, no, that is genuinely what's... OK, let's talk about it.
- 1:03:57Speaker 10: But this idea that it's like cut and dry is
- 1:04:00Speaker 10: just completely wrong.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: No, but that is what Medicaid is for.
- 1:04:04Speaker 10: Invest in war, invest in military, invest in weapons and
- 1:04:10Speaker 10: not invest in health care is one of the worst
- 1:04:13Speaker 10: investments I've ever heard of.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Well, can you invest, can you spend way too much
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: in a military industrial complex? I think we were warned
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: about that. And I think the answer to that obviously
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: is yes. I don't think you'll hear many people say to,
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: when you talk about people that have serious health issues,
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: if I can finish my thought, as I said to you,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: if somebody loses everything because they've had a stroke or
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: an ALS or something and end up in a nursing home,
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: we're not going to put them out on the street.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: That is what these relief programs like Medicaid are for.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: They're being abused by people that are able-bodied that need
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: to go out and operate on their own. So I
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: don't think you get an.
- 1:04:53Speaker 18: Argument from people.
- 1:04:53Speaker 10: Do you know anyone personally who's abusing it?
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Unfortunately, the answer to that is yes. Unfortunately, there are
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: plenty of people– well, I shouldn't say plenty. There are
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: those people that say– some might say it's smart, not dumb.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: They don't want to make additional money because if they do,
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: they would lose their benefits. And as a result of that,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: it would cost them more money because they would have
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: to buy their benefits. But that is growing up, and.
- 1:05:20Speaker 9: That is– Yeah, I agree.
- 1:05:21Speaker 10: We should get rid of all that stuff.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: All right. Well, that's– There's a saying, and you need
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: to learn it. Don't make your problems my problems.
- 1:05:31Speaker 22: All right?
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: Don't make your bad decisions my bad decisions. Don't reward
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: bad behavior.
- 1:05:36Speaker 10: The whole economy is going in the tank. It's insane.
- 1:05:42Speaker 10: The people who are supporting this guy, they don't understand
- 1:05:46Speaker 10: what's going on.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Well, what's going on?
- 1:05:47Speaker 10: They're calling in to try to explain it to you.
- 1:05:50Speaker 10: You're still not listening.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: Well, I'm listening. You say because of Trump, the whole
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: economy is going in a tank, and the reason for
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: that is what?
- 1:06:02Speaker 10: Well, as I've already said, the dollar is down 10%
- 1:06:04Speaker 10: to 20% actively because he's destroying... Our international relationships, people
- 1:06:13Speaker 10: who have money in other countries are not really interested
- 1:06:17Speaker 10: in investing in America. We're just going to betray them,
- 1:06:20Speaker 10: stab them in the back.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: How do we do that?
- 1:06:23Speaker 10: Actively degrading our ability to act in the world. I
- 1:06:29Speaker 10: think it's, I think it's absolutely.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: How is he doing that? Do you think he was wrong?
- 1:06:36Speaker 10: Pushing away the Gulf states right now, Saudi Arabia is
- 1:06:40Speaker 10: not letting us fly over their country. They are one
- 1:06:43Speaker 10: of the most, the country most responsible for the success
- 1:06:50Speaker 10: in our stock market is Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar. They're
- 1:06:55Speaker 10: all pumping oil, and then the money they make on
- 1:07:00Speaker 10: that oil, they invest in the U.S.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Economy.
- 1:07:02Speaker 10: That's called the petrodollar. That is at serious risk.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 1:07:09Speaker 10: I mean, it might make sense to go away, like
- 1:07:13Speaker 10: in the grand scheme of things. I think that's probably
- 1:07:16Speaker 10: a good thing. But that will actively hurt our economy.
- 1:07:21Speaker 10: And it is actively hurting our economy right now.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Well, the stock market, as I say, there's a disconnect
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: between Wall Street and Main Street, seems to be doing
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: quite well. Record highs.
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: Which one?
- 1:07:33Speaker 10: Main Street's doing well?
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: No, the stock market's been doing extremely well. I said
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: there's a disconnect between Main Street and the stock market.
- 1:07:40Speaker 10: Well, do you think that's good, that the stock market's
- 1:07:43Speaker 10: doing well and the Main Street's doing poor?
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: No, I don't think that's good at all. I think
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: there's a serious issue with what they call affordability and
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: the amount of taxes, people's money that's taken from them,
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: the inflation that has taken place, the energy costs that
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: are out there. I don't think there's anything good about
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: that at all, and we're making life difficult. much more
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: difficult for our younger generation to achieve the American dream. So, no,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I don't think there's anything good about that at all.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: I prefer him to get back and focus on that.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I want him to go back and focus on that.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: I believe in America first. I do not believe in
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: foreign aid. I do not care if these other countries
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: that you express, well, I don't know that you're expressing
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: concern in that sense. I want them to hold countries
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: accountable if they say they're supposed to give this much
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: to NATO. Stop crapping on the United States of America,
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: having us carry all the burden. You want to be
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: a part of it, you contribute to it. And we'll
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: leave it there. I appreciate your call, and onward we go.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: You're on the air. Hello? Well, maybe you're not there.
- 1:08:58Speaker 23: Hello?
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: I think that was Ted the Conspirator. I hung up on.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Call back right now. Call back right now. You're on
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: the air. You're on the air.
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: Hey, Ron. How are you?
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Good, Mike.
- 1:09:14Speaker 18: Hey, that guy, boy, what a tough listen.
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: If he thinks, I mean, I'm not sure what I heard.
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: But I think he said we could probably print our
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: way to prosperity, not directly like that, but indirectly. But
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: that doesn't matter.
- 1:09:29Speaker 9: Is that what I heard?
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: No, he was saying that debt isn't always a bad thing,
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: that in fact you had, that somebody's getting the interest
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: off the debt. It was a strange economic philosophy.
- 1:09:47Speaker 18: Yeah, okay.
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: They had a term for that in high school, which
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: I can't repeat. Well, I'm not going to even go
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: there then. It doesn't even make sense, his whole entire argument.
- 1:10:04Speaker 18: You know, if.
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: We're $ 80 trillion in debt, maybe prosperity will be twice
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: as much as it is now.
- 1:10:13Speaker 18: His argument just did not make sense.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: It doesn't make sense to me either because you're strapping
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: future generations. You cannot have this large portion of your
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: tax dollars going to pay interest. It's ridiculous.
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: The only way that we're going to have higher prosperity
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: is to have higher productivity.
- 1:10:30Speaker 18: That's the only way. And that's what, you know, to have..
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: And cut spending.
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: We're not into the Bitcoin stuff. Yeah, cut spending, absolutely.
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: But higher productivity is going to lead to a higher
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: standard of living. And if we had, our dollar was
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: coupled with precious gold or silver, things that are worth something,
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: our government couldn't spend like this.
- 1:10:57Speaker 22: Right.
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: Any recourse. They've just pumped it all on to future generations,
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: which is not fair to the future generations. They have
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: no voice in this debt. Now, I heard.
- 1:11:28Speaker 18: Your opening monologue, and I remember a couple years ago, Ted,
- 1:11:32Speaker 18: you know, he.
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: Was really big on the, you know, calling people cult,
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: cultish and stuff like that.
- 1:11:38Speaker 18: And it was the days that he was not a
- 1:11:43Speaker 18: He didn't think Donald Trump could win, quote-unquote. So he was,
- 1:11:46Speaker 18: you know, using that manipulative language to try to change minds. Well,
- 1:11:53Speaker 18: you know, I've.
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: Listened to Ted kind of evolve on Trump. And, you know,
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: recently he's talked about just trust in Trump. I trust Trump, right?
- 1:12:05Speaker 9: Well, you know what?
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: I never did. He was the best choice.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: Of a very..
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: A weak group that he was running against. And as
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: of today, right now, and I told you this when
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: he went after Massey, I wish he had gone after
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: the Democrats or the people that were actually barriers to
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: prosperity in this country. If he had gone.
- 1:12:34Speaker 18: After those people as hard as he did, promised Massey,
- 1:12:38Speaker 18: maybe we wouldn't be.
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: Talking about the Save America Act being... stalled in the
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: Senate right now. Maybe we'd be thrilled that it was passed.
- 1:12:52Speaker 18: So I just, you.
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: Know, when Ted talks like that, I hear that and
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: I go like.
- 1:13:00Speaker 18: Man, did you forget where you were?
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: The point that I was making, and I remember that.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: I was just trying to get the time frame on it.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: Ted's call at that time, I can remember it. He
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: was merely talking. He was saying it's okay to disagree
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: with Trump and view things differently. He was merely saying
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: to me, I remember that call, that there is a cult,
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: that there is a cult that no matter what Trump does,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: you can't disagree with him. And he was saying that
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: that bothered him, that type of mentality. That was the call.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: I don't think. No, no, no, no, no. There's no way.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Ted's a pretty smart guy. Here's what Ted says. Ted,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: in essence, says. It's okay for people to disagree with
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: the war. It's okay for people to agree with the war.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: He might view it as something worthwhile to do. I
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: would have to ask him the specifics of it. But
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: he says, let's give it some time. And I do
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: agree with one thing. These people obviously know more than
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: we do about what's going on. So they get a
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: little bit of the benefit of the doubt, but not
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: all of it. I think they've also made some, in
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: my opinion, some poor decisions. I go back to say, I.
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: Would agree with that a hundred percent, Ron. I don't
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: think we're on the right track. And I think, you know,
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: probably going back a month or five weeks, whenever this started,
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: there were very few voices that were saying, Hey, Trump's
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: going down the wrong path here. And Ted was not
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: one of them. Rich was not one of them. I know,
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: I know Frank was, was one of the voices, but.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: You know who else was in opposition to the war?
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: This might surprise everybody. G2 was not in favor of this.
- 1:14:51Speaker 22: No, no.
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: I know he was not. I think you were in
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: favor of it, but I think you were listening. And
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: I've seen.
- 1:14:59Speaker 18: Your, you know, over the last, you know, five weeks.
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: Four weeks, I've heard, I've seen, because.
- 1:15:06Speaker 18: I listen as much as anybody, Ron.
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: Okay. I got to tell you, your show, it's great.
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: If it wasn't, I wouldn't listen. But I've seen you...
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: Your monologues have evolved. Your discussion with the callers has changed.
- 1:15:30Speaker 4: And I think it's... I don't want to sound arrogant
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: or anything like that. I think it's in a good...
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: Going in a good direction. Not that I would be
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: the judge of that, but I think in the end...
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: we can't be at war and have... We can have
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: artificial prosperity. You know, a war economy is artificial. Eventually,
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: that bill's going to be... That bill, that check's going
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: to come due, and, you know, we're at the end here,
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: you and I.
- 1:16:02Speaker 18: I don't want to see our kids.
- 1:16:05Speaker 4: All this dumped on our kids, and that's why I
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: get so... I guess upset about... you know, the direction
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: that we're going. You know, if you think you're going
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: to fix this country by throwing people like Thomas Massey
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: out of office, you have no idea what this country
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: is about. That's where I'm at.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: I totally agree with that entire statement. Thank you, Mike.
- 1:16:31Speaker 18: Have a safe weekend.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: You too.
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: News, weather, and talk station, 570 WKBN.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: 4.55 on a Friday, May 22nd, 63 degrees. Ron Verb
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: from the Kingdom of Mahoning, you're on the air.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: Ronald.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: Ted the Conservative.
- 1:16:49Speaker 9: Hey, I've heard my name a few times, so I
- 1:16:51Speaker 9: figured I'd give a call.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: Did I enunciate or give the correct scenario about when
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: you were talking, this goes back a while, about cults?
- 1:17:03Speaker 24: Yes, yes.
- 1:17:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:17:05Speaker 9: And that doesn't mean I don't support him, but you know,
- 1:17:08Speaker 9: many things could be true at the same time. I
- 1:17:10Speaker 9: do believe his, you know, we let's go back 10 years.
- 1:17:14Speaker 9: I would, you know, I remember when G2 and I
- 1:17:16Speaker 9: would have strong disagreements because, uh, I didn't agree with
- 1:17:20Speaker 9: everything that Trump said. Um, and I still don't, I
- 1:17:24Speaker 9: told you, I've learned how to internally process that stuff
- 1:17:27Speaker 9: and filter out all the garbage. And, um, In full transparency,
- 1:17:33Speaker 9: I think his second presidency, his second term, has been
- 1:17:38Speaker 9: a failure so far.
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: And I don't think.
- 1:17:43Speaker 9: He's doing the things that we elected him to do.
- 1:17:47Speaker 9: I think he's made this more of a retribution tour.
- 1:17:50Speaker 9: I don't like the slush fund. Like, I strongly disagree with...
- 1:17:56Speaker 9: people that have said it's okay for him to do
- 1:17:58Speaker 9: what he's doing with the Department of Justice. I mean,
- 1:18:00Speaker 9: let's be honest. Like you said yesterday, if Joe Biden
- 1:18:04Speaker 9: brought his personal attorney in and did this stuff, we'd
- 1:18:07Speaker 9: be losing our minds. If you want to protect your family,
- 1:18:12Speaker 9: there's a way to do it. So don't circumvent it.
- 1:18:14Speaker 9: Just be a man, put your big boy panties on,
- 1:18:18Speaker 9: and issue pardons for all your family members and your
- 1:18:23Speaker 9: businesses for crimes that may have you know, been committed,
- 1:18:27Speaker 9: knowingly or unknowingly, for the last 25 years.
- 1:18:30Speaker 19: Do what Biden did.
- 1:18:31Speaker 9: But don't, you know, this slush fund is just a horrible,
- 1:18:34Speaker 9: horrible thing. And I think that's why you're seeing the
- 1:18:37Speaker 9: backlash from the Republicans, because now we're in a fight
- 1:18:41Speaker 9: for our life in these primaries, and he keeps giving
- 1:18:45Speaker 9: the opposition fuel to put on the fire.
- 1:18:50Speaker 18: You know?
- 1:18:50Speaker 9: He's lost focus, I think, of the primaries because every
- 1:18:54Speaker 9: decision he's made is going against us and making that
- 1:18:58Speaker 9: hill that we're trying to climb steeper and steeper. But
- 1:19:01Speaker 9: you gave a good analogy of my beliefs on Trump.
- 1:19:05Speaker 8: You know, I..
- 1:19:06Speaker 9: You know where I stand. We've been talking about him
- 1:19:08Speaker 9: for a long time. Doesn't mean I don't support him.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: You know? But you were the first guy, and I remember,
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: oddly enough, I remember this call. And we had a
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: disagreement that day. I can remember it specifically. You're the
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: first guy who said to me, Ron, there are people
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: that are, there is a Trump cult. There are people
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: that if you don't adhere to everything he adheres to,
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: then you're bad news, even though you're a Republican or
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: you disagree. There is that fraction of of the Trump supporters.
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: And I think you and I argued about it that day.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: And you are 100% correct about that. Stand by. Stand by.
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: Back with Ted the Conservative in a minute. Ron Furman,
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570, WKBN. Stay close.
- 1:19:54Speaker 11: From ABC News, I'm Mike Dabusky. Following her husband's recent
- 1:19:59Speaker 11: diagnosis with bone cancer, Tulsi Gabbard now says she's stepping
- 1:20:03Speaker 11: down as director of national intelligence.
- 1:20:06Speaker 25: In recent months, Gabbard and the Trump administration appeared out
- 1:20:08Speaker 25: of sync, sending mixed messages ahead of the war with Iran.
- 1:20:11Speaker 25: Gabbard is now the fourth cabinet member to leave the
- 1:20:14Speaker 25: administration in three months. All have been women. Her last
- 1:20:18Speaker 25: day will be the end of June.
- 1:20:20Speaker 11: ABC's Christiane Cordero in Washington. The Department of Justice is
- 1:20:23Speaker 11: now vowing to appeal a judge's decision to dismiss its
- 1:20:27Speaker 11: case against Kilmar Abrego-Garcia. The Justice Department had charged him
- 1:20:31Speaker 11: with human smuggling, but now a judge says that case
- 1:20:34Speaker 11: was an example of vindictive prosecution. Abrego-Garcia was the man
- 1:20:39Speaker 11: who was improperly deported to El Salvador last year. The
- 1:20:43Speaker 11: DOJ also facing a second federal lawsuit now against its
- 1:20:46Speaker 11: proposed anti-weaponization fund. ABC's Peter Haralambous has that story.
- 1:20:51Speaker 26: The Department of Justice's attempt to launch an anti-weaponization fund
- 1:20:55Speaker 26: has sparked accusations of self-dealing and a bipartisan uproar over
- 1:20:58Speaker 26: the possible use of taxpayer money to pay rioters who
- 1:21:01Speaker 26: attacked the Capitol on January 6th. In a new lawsuit
- 1:21:04Speaker 26: filed Friday, a coalition of nonprofits alleged the fund bypassed
- 1:21:08Speaker 26: Congress's authority over federal spending. and violated the 14th Amendment.
- 1:21:13Speaker 11: NASCAR fans are remembering the life of Kyle Busch, who
- 1:21:16Speaker 11: died suddenly yesterday at the age of 41. 911 tapes
- 1:21:19Speaker 11: reveal he was coughing up blood before being hospitalized. ABC's
- 1:21:23Speaker 11: Alex Stone says he had been scheduled to race this weekend.
- 1:21:25Speaker 27: At the Coca-Cola 600, the cars have stickers honoring Busch.
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: Many of them will over the weekend.
- 1:21:30Speaker 27: The Indy 500, they're going to be honoring him. He
- 1:21:33Speaker 27: won the Brickyard 400 in 2015 and 2016, but there
- 1:21:37Speaker 27: are going to be remembrances on and off the track
- 1:21:40Speaker 27: over the weekend.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: It's going to be quite visible. This is a big
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: deal in the world of NASCAR.
- 1:21:45Speaker 27: As one NASCAR racer said today, this was their Kobe
- 1:21:47Speaker 27: Bryant who died, that he was a giant figure.
- 1:21:50Speaker 11: You're listening to ABC News.
- 1:22:04Speaker 9: No, no, I don't think so. I don't, I don't,
- 1:22:08Speaker 9: I wouldn't classify it as a failure, but I think
- 1:22:11Speaker 9: the only.
- 1:22:11Speaker 22: Thing we've done is suspend the Democrat. Does that, how
- 1:22:18Speaker 22: do I even say this? We've stopped the Democrats in
- 1:22:21Speaker 22: their tracks from making things any worse than they would have,
- 1:22:25Speaker 22: you know, meaning if Kamala was elected, because we're really
- 1:22:28Speaker 22: not seeing some of the legislative things that we had
- 1:22:32Speaker 22: hoped for in a big, problem, I think, is because
- 1:22:36Speaker 22: of Congress. But that's where leadership comes in, and Trump
- 1:22:42Speaker 22: should be leading a little better, I think, when it
- 1:22:45Speaker 22: comes to those things. But in the end, I'm not
- 1:22:48Speaker 22: sure what we're going to get.
- 1:22:49Speaker 9: Out of this guy for another year or, what, two
- 1:22:51Speaker 9: years or so. Other than that, we've put the brakes
- 1:22:54Speaker 9: on all those liberal Democrat policies. I still support him.
- 1:22:58Speaker 9: I still think he has, in the back of his mind,
- 1:23:02Speaker 9: he does want the best for the country. I think
- 1:23:05Speaker 9: he's been distracted by some who have influenced his decision-making.
- 1:23:10Speaker 9: I think he's still a narcissistic, petty person, the way
- 1:23:14Speaker 9: he's gone after Massey and MTG and all.
- 1:23:16Speaker 8: Those other folks.
- 1:23:17Speaker 9: And, yes, you can say she quit, and you can
- 1:23:20Speaker 9: say whatever you.
- 1:23:20Speaker 8: Want about Massey.
- 1:23:21Speaker 9: I have no opinion on Massey, whether he should have won,
- 1:23:25Speaker 9: whether he shouldn't have won. I don't like what happened. But,
- 1:23:28Speaker 9: you know, all those little things, they're leading up, you know,
- 1:23:32Speaker 9: just more smoke on the fire. just more smoke on
- 1:23:35Speaker 9: the fire that we don't need. And I don't like
- 1:23:38Speaker 9: the way he involves himself so much in the primary
- 1:23:41Speaker 9: elections because he doesn't have a good track record when
- 1:23:44Speaker 9: it comes to general elections. My biggest concern now is
- 1:23:47Speaker 9: in Texas. You know, we can leave that seat. Paxson
- 1:23:51Speaker 9: carries a lot of baggage. And yes, Cronin, you know,
- 1:23:55Speaker 9: G2 doesn't like him. He said some things about him.
- 1:23:57Speaker 9: But we're at the point now where it's wins and
- 1:24:01Speaker 9: losses again. It's It's keeping the others out of office.
- 1:24:05Speaker 9: You know, we're back to that point where we're trying
- 1:24:07Speaker 9: to win elections because, honestly, Republicans are horrible at governing.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: They don't get anything done.
- 1:24:13Speaker 9: They talk a lot. They tell us how great they're
- 1:24:15Speaker 9: going to make things. But they don't get a lot done. And, again,
- 1:24:19Speaker 9: I'm still going to vote for him. I'm not going
- 1:24:22Speaker 9: to vote for a Democrat. I'm going to support Trump
- 1:24:24Speaker 9: and keep supporting him. I've learned to deal with all
- 1:24:27Speaker 9: the stupid stuff he does that upsets so many of us.
- 1:24:30Speaker 9: I still think he... He could come out on top,
- 1:24:33Speaker 9: but every day that we don't take a step in
- 1:24:36Speaker 9: the right direction, we're making that hill to climb steeper
- 1:24:40Speaker 9: and steeper. So I worry about that. But I agree
- 1:24:43Speaker 9: with you on everything you said. We need to hold
- 1:24:46Speaker 9: him to the same standard we held Bill Biden. And
- 1:24:51Speaker 9: I don't agree with that slush fund thing. It's just
- 1:24:54Speaker 9: a disaster.
- 1:24:55Speaker 22: But who knows?
- 1:24:56Speaker 9: We'll see where it all ends up.
- 1:24:57Speaker 6: But you know what?
- 1:24:58Speaker 9: I wanted to share with you something else. This is
- 1:25:00Speaker 9: one of the reasons I called you. Two things I
- 1:25:02Speaker 9: want to share with you. Can I do that before
- 1:25:04Speaker 9: you kick me off?
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 1:25:06Speaker 9: Okay. You like to eat at the fireplace restaurant, right?
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:25:13Speaker 9: You're a fan. So mark your calendar for Thursday, June 5th.
- 1:25:16Speaker 9: When you get off the radio, you've got to go
- 1:25:19Speaker 9: to the fireplace. And all of your listeners have an
- 1:25:22Speaker 9: opportunity to go to the fireplace and meet Christine Oliver.
- 1:25:25Speaker 9: She's holding a fundraiser there that night. And I think
- 1:25:31Speaker 9: we need not forget about our local policy. And we
- 1:25:34Speaker 9: need to really start focusing on the local issues and
- 1:25:38Speaker 9: the local races because those things affect us, too, much
- 1:25:41Speaker 9: more in a bigger way than things at the national level.
- 1:25:44Speaker 9: It all runs, you know, the water runs up, as
- 1:25:47Speaker 9: you say, or runs down, you could say, however you
- 1:25:50Speaker 9: want to say it. But everything starts at the local,
- 1:25:52Speaker 9: whether it's our school boards, our city council's, our county commissioners,
- 1:25:57Speaker 9: our local judges, you know, those are the things that
- 1:26:00Speaker 9: affect us. And I think this county commissioners race is huge.
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: I would agree. I certainly hope she would win over McNally. Now,
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: I can't make that because how am I supposed to
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: make out with my wife at a political fundraiser? You know,
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: when I go out to dinner, you know, I'm trying to,
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: you know, I'm trying to..
- 1:26:19Speaker 8: Don't drink the margarita.
- 1:26:22Speaker 9: Hey, I'm going to betterize you. Get the margarita to go.
- 1:26:28Speaker 9: You know, I'm dead serious. There was a lot of
- 1:26:32Speaker 9: back and forth within the party in the primaries, whether
- 1:26:35Speaker 9: it was the commissioner or the judge. There was a
- 1:26:38Speaker 9: lot of close judge races. But I think the party
- 1:26:40Speaker 9: really needs to come together now and support the candidates
- 1:26:43Speaker 9: that won. And that's critical.
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: Well, like I say, Christine Oliver ran a really good campaign,
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: and I think she's championed the issues that are important
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: when it comes to property taxes. I mean, I think
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: she was front and center on those two issues, and
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: so she champions those. She said that she will do
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: so if she's elected. So, uh, and, and ran a
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: really good campaign. As I said, if I looked at it,
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: you know, I really thought it was, was a campaign
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: for commissioner between really, uh, her and Bruce Shepis. I
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: didn't think that drag is really was much of a contender.
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: Just didn't think he would, he would be a factor
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: in it. And I think, I think it would have been, uh,
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: perhaps closer. I just think Bruce should have embraced those
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: two issues, uh, And I don't know why he didn't.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: I think he should have. But I'm not saying he
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: should embrace something if he doesn't believe in it. Don't
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: misunderstand me. I'm just saying I think he should have
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: probably reviewed that and supported those issues for the sake
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: of the taxpayer. And Champion said, listen, if I'm elected,
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: I'm going to make sure that these things come about
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: and champion those issues if he sincerely believed in it.
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: By not doing that, I think it hurt his campaign.
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: Because I sit back. I live in Austintown. I don't
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: think that we have any major issues as far as
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: how the township is being run. I think that as
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: a township, things seem to be going quite well as
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: far as the community is concerned at this point. So
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: I can't fault him for his job at this point
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: as trustee or the rest of them. I mean, it
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: seems like everything's going pretty well. But if you do
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: like the deep dive into campaigns, I would say that
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: was probably not the best. I think that was a
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: big mistake. But you shouldn't embrace something unless you sincerely believe.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: in it either. I mean, if you don't believe in it,
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: then you've got to stand up for what you believe in, too.
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: And maybe you didn't believe in it.
- 1:28:47Speaker 9: And it's okay for people to disagree.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: Correct.
- 1:28:49Speaker 9: I had a lot of people come at me because
- 1:28:52Speaker 9: of my support for Christine. And maybe they didn't like
- 1:28:55Speaker 9: the things I said about the other candidates.
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: But don't get me wrong.
- 1:28:58Speaker 9: I respect anyone that throws their hat in that public
- 1:29:01Speaker 9: circus and does what they do to get elected for
- 1:29:05Speaker 9: whatever reason, whatever motivation. And we all have an opinion.
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:29:09Speaker 9: And just because I have an opinion that's different from
- 1:29:11Speaker 9: yours is does it mean that I think your right
- 1:29:16Speaker 9: to your opinion is any less than mine?
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: It did. Really? What about those Obama years? I just
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: leave you with that.
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: Well, I tried. I tried.
- 1:29:26Speaker 9: I think if you can go back and do it again,
- 1:29:29Speaker 9: you'd hold your nose. And push the button for Mitch Romney.
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: God, I can't stand the guy. All right.
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: One more thing.
- 1:29:36Speaker 9: I've got to share this with you.
- 1:29:37Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:29:37Speaker 9: And we'll get to top politics later. You know, everyone's
- 1:29:40Speaker 9: talking about inflation.
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:29:42Speaker 9: And the cost, the burden that we're carrying today. And
- 1:29:46Speaker 9: people are very, very short-memored.
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: Wait a second. When you say that, my buddy sent
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: me this this morning. Let me give you the time.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: I forget what. Let's see. Gallons. 19 gallons. 19 gallons.
- 1:29:59Speaker 28: $ 89. 45. Just a snapshot of the pump is what he said.
- 1:30:06Speaker 28: Absolutely insane. Just the truck. It was at half a tank.
- 1:30:10Speaker 28: Half a tank and his truck was $ 90.
- 1:30:11Speaker 7: Wow.
- 1:30:12Speaker 9: You know, let's not forget that CPI is up. Core
- 1:30:17Speaker 9: inflation isn't back right now. The CPI is up because
- 1:30:20Speaker 9: of volatility in the, what do you call it, Strait
- 1:30:23Speaker 9: of America. And, you know, we've got to hope that
- 1:30:26Speaker 9: that gets taken care of. But something else I just witnessed.
- 1:30:29Speaker 9: I've got to tell you. I've got to share this
- 1:30:31Speaker 9: with your listeners. So I had to run out to
- 1:30:33Speaker 9: Mineral Ridge to go see him. So there's a butcher
- 1:30:35Speaker 9: out there, Berdirk Butcher. It's the only place I buy meat.
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:30:38Speaker 8: Great, great.
- 1:30:39Speaker 9: Yep, great people, great meat, great, just great. Can't say
- 1:30:43Speaker 9: enough about him. Take a ride out.
- 1:30:44Speaker 8: There one day.
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: You won't be disappointed.
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: Where's that at?
- 1:30:48Speaker 9: It's in Mineral Ridge. As you're driving through Mineral Ridge,
- 1:30:52Speaker 9: it's a dirt torture. It's not hard to miss. What
- 1:30:56Speaker 9: is that, 46 that cuts right through there?
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:59Speaker 9: Yeah, you can't miss it. I'm telling you.
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: Great, great guy.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Is it after the ice cream store or what?
- 1:31:05Speaker 9: I don't pay attention to the ice cream store, so
- 1:31:08Speaker 9: I'm not sure where the.
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: Ice cream is.
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: It's across the street.
- 1:31:11Speaker 23: Go ahead.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: It's like a park.
- 1:31:12Speaker 9: There's an empty park out there.
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 1:31:14Speaker 9: And it's almost right across. There's like a gazebo there
- 1:31:17Speaker 9: across the street, I think. So it's in that vicinity.
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: Okay, so it's by the school, maybe, Minette? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:31:23Speaker 9: Down a little bit from the school.
- 1:31:24Speaker 7: Yep, exactly.
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: All right. And there's a post office pub and all
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: that stuff. Yes, yes, yes.
- 1:31:29Speaker 9: And it's on the same side as a post office pub.
- 1:31:31Speaker 9: I'm telling you, whatever you want, whatever you like, they
- 1:31:34Speaker 9: got it. And it's just all great. And the guy
- 1:31:37Speaker 9: who owns it is even a better person than the
- 1:31:39Speaker 9: stuff he sells.
- 1:31:40Speaker 20: No, I know.
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: My son says the post office pub has really, really
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: good food there. You should probably stop sometime.
- 1:31:48Speaker 9: Why is it you know all the ice cream places
- 1:31:49Speaker 9: and your son knows the food places? And you know
- 1:31:55Speaker 9: the margarita place.
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: Because he's whining and dining his girl more than I am.
- 1:32:03Speaker 9: Okay, so listen to this. You may be running out
- 1:32:05Speaker 9: of time. I got to tell you. So I leave
- 1:32:07Speaker 9: the butcher. I'm heading home to Columbiana.
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: I want to run into Walmart.
- 1:32:11Speaker 9: In Ossetown real quick for a few items.
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: I got like five items.
- 1:32:14Speaker 9: I don't want to see the..
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: Oh, I want to hear this. So check out.
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:32:20Speaker 9: I'm watching this woman, okay?
- 1:32:23Speaker 19: Not..
- 1:32:23Speaker 9: But like two stations in front of me. I'm watching
- 1:32:27Speaker 9: her scan every other item... and putting the one she
- 1:32:31Speaker 9: doesn't scan in her bag. And I'm watching her fill
- 1:32:35Speaker 9: her pockets with candy that she's not scanning. And there's
- 1:32:38Speaker 9: employees everywhere watching her. And she's looking to see if
- 1:32:42Speaker 9: anyone's watching her. I mean, that's how blatant it was.
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: So you're there, and she would scan an item, and
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: then she would skip one or act like she was
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: scanning the other one.
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:32:53Speaker 9: And I'm thinking half her cart was like that. And
- 1:32:57Speaker 9: I was, you know, I was back a little bit ways,
- 1:32:59Speaker 9: but I could see it clear as day. And I
- 1:33:01Speaker 9: was maybe 20 yards, 25 yards away. And there's Walmart
- 1:33:04Speaker 9: employees all over the place, you know, watching people do this.
- 1:33:07Speaker 9: And they just let her go out and do what
- 1:33:09Speaker 9: she was doing. So then I go to check out
- 1:33:12Speaker 9: and I've got cash. I'm paying with cash. I don't
- 1:33:15Speaker 9: have change. I just put the bills in and it
- 1:33:17Speaker 9: sticks out.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: So you were paying with the Petrodollar?
- 1:33:20Speaker 7: That's okay.
- 1:33:23Speaker 9: They wouldn't take Bitcoin, so I was using the petrodollar.
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: Yeah, okay.
- 1:33:27Speaker 9: So then this thing spits out coins, and I realized, now,
- 1:33:31Speaker 9: I know young kids today can't do math. When you
- 1:33:33Speaker 9: go give someone cash, they have a hard time counting
- 1:33:35Speaker 9: the change back. Well, this machine spits back more change
- 1:33:39Speaker 9: than I'm due. By like a nickel. And I'm thinking
- 1:33:43Speaker 9: by a penny, rather, or whatever. And I'm thinking to myself,
- 1:33:46Speaker 9: so there's a shortage in pennies. So I put two
- 1:33:48Speaker 9: and two together. So in other words, they're not giving
- 1:33:52Speaker 9: you pennies back. They're just rounding up and giving you
- 1:33:54Speaker 9: the coin.
- 1:33:55Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:33:55Speaker 9: So how much money are we losing? How much money
- 1:33:57Speaker 9: are these businesses losing like Walmart by doing that? Right.
- 1:34:00Speaker 9: By just rounding up change, not doing it properly, and
- 1:34:04Speaker 9: then allowing people to steal it. So you and I
- 1:34:07Speaker 9: probably just paid for that woman's grocery business.
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: And you would think, like, they have cameras everywhere anymore.
- 1:34:12Speaker 28: Everywhere.
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: And I mean everywhere watching everything. And it's part of
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: the problem with self-checkouts, although I become much better with
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: them because, like, if I want to go in, here's
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: my M.O., Ted the Conservative. All right, I'm going to
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: give you my M.O. Are you ready for this?
- 1:34:31Speaker 8: Yes, sir.
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: I got a game plan, and this is usually what
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: I do. I go to, you know, Meijer right there
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: in Austintown. I go in and I buy unsweetened iced tea.
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: That's already made. All right. It drives my wife crazy.
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, because I just don't want to. So,
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: and I, and I, and I drink it. Remember Ted,
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: I gave up drinking pop. Okay. So I totally gave
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: it up. All right. So I gave up that. So
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: I buy a gallon of pre-made unsweetened tea at Meyer.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: It's it's, it's made by it's Milo. It's called Milo's.
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: On sweet tea, it costs $ 4 for a gallon of it.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, it just went up to
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: $ 4. 20 a gallon. I just noticed that the last time
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: I was home, it went up 20 cents. And it's
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: really good. You know why it's good? Because you know
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: what the ingredients are? Filtered water and tea. There's nothing
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: else in it.
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: That's good.
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: All right. So it's pure. To me, it's pure. It
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: tastes good. I ain't going to mess with making it.
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: And it's a gallon. It lasts a long time, and
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: it cost me $ 4. And I know right where it is, Ted.
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: I go right in the door. If you go in
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: the door, you go walk straight to the back wall.
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: You follow me? You got it down.
- 1:35:54Speaker 14: Yes, I do.
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: With the orange juices and all that kind of stuff,
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: I walk right in. I pull it open. I grab it.
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: And then sometimes I get bananas for my cereal. So
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: then I go over. I grab the bananas. And then
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: I go to the self-checkout. I feared the self-checkout for
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: a lot of years. And then I always look when
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: I go to the self-checkout to see if the cashier
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: line is moving and there's not many people in it.
- 1:36:21Speaker 28: Mm-hmm.
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: I've never had to do the self-checkout because I look
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: over and it's like, hey, I can go right over
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: to the cashier and get right out. But when I
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: go with my wife, she does like you can do
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: kind of like a scan thing. Yes, yes. She'll do that. And, uh,
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: cause you get, you get, you get those coupons in
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: the mail. We get them where if you spend 30 bucks,
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: you get 10 off and that kind of stuff. So,
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: so if she has a couple of them because of
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: friends and family, uh, like she'll say, okay, I'll, I'll
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: scan this on my phone. And then, uh, you hold
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: your phone up to the thing, self-checkout and then it,
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: then it shows it. Then she does a coupon and
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: then whatever, $ 35 becomes 25. And then she'll take the
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: other stuff and then scan that, you know, check out
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: one time, and then she'll scan the other stuff in
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: her cart. And let's say that's $ 35 and use another coupon.
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: How about that, huh?
- 1:37:22Speaker 9: How about that?
- 1:37:23Speaker 23: Right.
- 1:37:24Speaker 18: How about that?
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: Yeah, she is really good at the self-checkout. I do
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: not fear the self-checkout anymore. I've done it at Home Depot.
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: I've done it at Meijer. But I prefer to go,
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: you know, if the checkout is open, I prefer to
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: go through there with my iced tea and bananas, Ted.
- 1:37:44Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:37:45Speaker 9: But what about the milkshakes? Are you still drinking the
- 1:37:47Speaker 9: milkshakes even though.
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: You gave up the pop?
- 1:37:50Speaker 28: No.
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: Not very much, but it's like..
- 1:37:53Speaker 9: I know that was a weakness of yours.
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: It's right here. Where's my thing? Here's my Yeti. And
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: a lot of times I'll bring a gallon of that...
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: Milo on sweet tea right here to the station. Put
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: it in the refrigerator.
- 1:38:05Speaker 14: All right, Ted.
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: Hey, have a great weekend, my friend.
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: Good weekend.
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: All right. Back with more in a minute.
- 1:38:11Speaker 5: Com 570 WKBN.
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: And so, Ron Furb, you're on the air.
- 1:38:15Speaker 14: Hello.
- 1:38:16Speaker 9: And they moved.
- 1:38:17Speaker 6: They both moved to Texas.
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: Who moved to Texas? Who moved to Texas?
- 1:38:26Speaker 22: Hey.
- 1:38:26Speaker 4: Hello. Yeah.
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: Who moved to Texas?
- 1:38:29Speaker 29: Well, I..
- 1:38:30Speaker 6: I was talking to my wife. So that's personal conversation, Ronnie.
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, you were talking to your wife. Wow. Aren't
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: you romantic?
- 1:38:38Speaker 6: Hey, once a week she lets me talk to her.
- 1:38:41Speaker 6: And now you're interrupting me. This ain't going to go
- 1:38:44Speaker 6: well on divorce court.
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: Oh, geez, I'm sorry I did such a thing.
- 1:38:49Speaker 6: That new judge in Mahoning County will probably treat me right, though, right?
- 1:38:54Speaker 6: Newly elected.
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: Well, not yet. Not yet. But don't you worry. You've
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: got to work it out. Cheaper to keeper.
- 1:39:02Speaker 6: Oh, she's a keeper, for sure. Hey, let's see. Oh,
- 1:39:07Speaker 6: to paraphrase Mike, like me and you, Ronnie, we're not
- 1:39:12Speaker 6: going to be around for a while. You know, too long.
- 1:39:15Speaker 6: But I'm worried about my kids also.
- 1:39:18Speaker 4: You?
- 1:39:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: Well, now I'm feeling like I should just probably jump
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: off the closest bridge after that.
- 1:39:25Speaker 6: Hey, I'll pick out the highest one, Ronnie. Just let
- 1:39:28Speaker 6: me know. I got Google. I got Google Maps. I
- 1:39:30Speaker 6: can find it.
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: All right. I can hardly wait.
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:39:35Speaker 6: Hey, so Ted thinks Trump, his second term is a failure.
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: So far, yeah.
- 1:39:42Speaker 6: He's wanting to shut down the border. Drill, baby, drill.
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: What else?
- 1:39:47Speaker 6: I mean, he's got so many accomplishments. more than any
- 1:39:50Speaker 6: other president that I can remember in my life, I
- 1:39:53Speaker 6: know all human beings have faults. You know, even me, Ron,
- 1:39:58Speaker 6: I know it's hard to imagine, but I have my faults.
- 1:40:04Speaker 6: I won't disclose them on the radio. I think Trump,
- 1:40:10Speaker 6: his second term is way better because he understands the
- 1:40:14Speaker 6: machine that's against him. It just like, uh, what was
- 1:40:19Speaker 6: the newly coined term? Butthead called in earlier. Remember, I
- 1:40:26Speaker 6: think you made some really great points.
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:40:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:40:32Speaker 6: Like, I mean, what about the Democrats? Why, why did
- 1:40:37Speaker 6: they shut down Doge? Why did they want to stop
- 1:40:43Speaker 6: the investigation into all the corruption that That's happening in
- 1:40:48Speaker 6: our country. Billions and billions of dollars. Can you answer that?
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: Yeah, because they're benefiting from the fraud.
- 1:40:57Speaker 20: Right.
- 1:41:00Speaker 6: I believe there's bad Republicans, too, but... Yeah, well, I mean,
- 1:41:04Speaker 6: even like what they did to Elon Musk with his dealerships.
- 1:41:10Speaker 6: They're like the evil people. You can look up on
- 1:41:13Speaker 6: YouTube and see all these people saying, yeah, he killed Trump,
- 1:41:16Speaker 6: you know... kill this, kill that. And when was the
- 1:41:20Speaker 6: last time a Republican was caught trying to assassinate somebody?
- 1:41:27Speaker 6: It just, I don't know, it's just like that.
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: I hear you. I hear you.
- 1:41:36Speaker 6: Hey, but one of your earlier callers said that he
- 1:41:41Speaker 6: doesn't think a businessman should be in charge of the government. Well,
- 1:41:46Speaker 6: Trump Like back in the 80s, he got a ice
- 1:41:52Speaker 6: rink that the government tried to get done for like,
- 1:41:57Speaker 6: I don't know, two, three years. And he got it
- 1:41:59Speaker 6: done in six months. He got it built and done
- 1:42:02Speaker 6: because a businessman wants to get the job done, get paid,
- 1:42:07Speaker 6: and move on to the next thing so he can
- 1:42:10Speaker 6: make more money. It's just that thought process.
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: Stand by, stand by, stand by. It's the unknown caller
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: trying to make sense of it all and talking to
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: his wife at the same time. I'll be back. All right,
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: unknown caller, go ahead with whatever point you were trying
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: to make.
- 1:42:26Speaker 2: Well, this is a test.
- 1:42:30Speaker 6: You're two months younger than me. What were we talking about, Ronnie?
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: I can't remember.
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: I was focused so much on you talking to your wife.
- 1:42:39Speaker 18: I know.
- 1:42:40Speaker 6: Hey, by the way, she's looking for me, so at
- 1:42:44Speaker 6: some point I'm going to have to go. But, hey,
- 1:42:46Speaker 6: how about them Cavs? That first game, I was nervous.
- 1:42:52Speaker 6: They were like 22 points ahead with seven minutes left,
- 1:42:56Speaker 6: and they still lost.
- 1:42:58Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 1:42:58Speaker 6: And I was nervous for a reason. But they lost
- 1:43:01Speaker 6: the first two in the last series, I believe.
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: In the current one, yeah.
- 1:43:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:43:08Speaker 6: Okay, hey, one more thing. Obamacare. Remember, one of your
- 1:43:14Speaker 6: previous callers was talking about the fact that why are
- 1:43:18Speaker 6: we giving this money to Medicaid, or why is he
- 1:43:21Speaker 6: cutting it off to Medicaid? But remember, they used to
- 1:43:25Speaker 6: call it Obamacare, Obamacare, everything Obamacare. Ooh, Obamacare.
- 1:43:29Speaker 2: Obama's great.
- 1:43:30Speaker 6: And then Obamacare turned out to be, like, not so good.
- 1:43:33Speaker 6: So now they call it the original name. The Affordable
- 1:43:37Speaker 6: Care Act. I mean, that's just the bias. What do
- 1:43:45Speaker 6: you call it? No spin news guy. It's just the
- 1:43:51Speaker 6: spin that the mainstream media puts on everything. All right, hey, Ronnie, Ronnie,
- 1:43:59Speaker 6: here comes my wife.
- 1:44:00Speaker 30: I got to go.
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: He's always got to go. G2, hello.
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: Good evening, Ron.
- 1:44:04Speaker 4: How are you?
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: You sound almost saddened by your introduction.
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: No, just working through something here. It'll be done in
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: a second.
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: You're not talking to your wife, too, like the last
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: caller was.
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: No, I'm in the clear. I'm in a subset of
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: the bunker.
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: Right, where you don't have to worry about anything. What's
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: your reaction, Tulsi Gabbard resigning as Trump's intelligence chief? I
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: was saddened by it, by the reason. too, but just sadness,
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: see her go.
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: Well, obviously, I mean, it's sad to hear that her
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: husband has this problem, and it's, you know, no small thing.
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: So that's tragic, and I'm sorry to hear it as well.
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: But on the other side of losing her as ODNI,
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: as DNI, that's tragic for the country, because she is
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: one of the very few people in this administration who
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: clearly was America first, and who was somewhat fearless. She
- 1:45:06Speaker 2: didn't yield easily to the power brokers. And we saw
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: that all the way back when she was in Congress
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: as a Democrat and was challenging them on the narrative
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: around Syria. And they, of course, you know, she wasn't
- 1:45:26Speaker 2: allowed to challenge the narrative on Syria. That was off limits.
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: She did anyway. And you may remember she went over
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: and saw Bashar al-Assad and And the establishment freaked out
- 1:45:38Speaker 2: because they were hoping to go to war against him
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: and spend a lot of lives and money. So she
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: was brave. She was clearly on target. She refused to lie.
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: I don't know, it was maybe a month or two
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: ago that Laura Loomer raced to the White House to
- 1:45:53Speaker 2: tell Trump to fire her. And the basis of that
- 1:45:57Speaker 2: was that she wasn't willing to come out and say
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: that there was a nuclear threat in Iran. I think
- 1:46:02Speaker 2: that's really why... This happened because, if you remember, they
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: changed the narrative. It was all about this threat. We
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: were all going to die in an Iranian nuclear attack.
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: And Gabbard would never come out and say that.
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: If you had to read the tea leaves, if I
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: had to get you to speculate, do you think Chelsea
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: Gabbard believes what Trump is pitching?
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: Well, it depends on what it is. I mean, I've
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: heard some of the conversation over the last couple of hours.
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: And Look, Trump has achieved more than any other president
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: in our lifetime. What he did before the Iran war
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: on inflation was absolutely unbelievable, driving inflation down from these
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: very high numbers down to about a 0.7. There are
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: a couple problems with that. One is that people think
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: lower inflation means prices go down.
- 1:46:51Speaker 20: It doesn't.
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: Of course, some prices go down, and gasoline went down.
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: Eggs went down. A bunch of things went down. But
- 1:47:00Speaker 2: on average... prices continue to climb because the Congress won't
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: stop printing money. So what he achieved on inflation was remarkable. Now,
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: the other problem is, of course, he gave it all
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: back when he launched the war, and fuel prices went up,
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: and people looked at that and said, oh, you know,
- 1:47:16Speaker 2: I'm back to $ 4.
- 1:47:17Speaker 4: 50 or $ 4, $ 4.
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: 50, maybe in some places $ 5 or $ 6 gasoline. So
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: it's just really unfortunate that, that this gas and this
- 1:47:30Speaker 2: oil industry disruption has happened that's caused us to have
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: these high prices. I know we had a call the
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: other night that said that it wasn't the war in
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: Iran that did this. I'm not sure exactly how they
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: got there, but that's just... This is what it was.
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: It was disrupting the 21 million barrels a day that
- 1:47:46Speaker 2: flow through the Strait of Hormuz. Of course, some of
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: those have since come back online through pipelines and whatnot.
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: But that's what caused the price to go up. Everybody
- 1:47:53Speaker 2: knows it. And because there was no effort to sell
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: this war as... being in America's interests, people didn't really
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: know what to think until they changed the story later
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: and said, oh, no, no, this is all about the
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: United States and a nuclear war threat. So it has
- 1:48:10Speaker 2: been messy. But coming back to point, Trump has been
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: the most successful, effective president in modern-day times. In the
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: last six presidents, no one's come anywhere close to him.
- 1:48:23Speaker 2: What he's done in foreign affairs, I'm setting aside the
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: Iran war. That's a special thing to talk about. What
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: he's done in foreign affairs is remarkable. What he's done
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: in the economy is remarkable. Now, I am not a
- 1:48:32Speaker 2: fan of this explosion of data centers, so I'm setting
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: that investment aside. But the investment in industry that created
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: high-value jobs for Joe Mainstreet, the reversal of four decades
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: of inflation rising faster than wages, therefore the middle class
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: being squeezed, he's just done miraculous things. The problem is,
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: and we're seeing this in spades now, the forces he
- 1:48:59Speaker 2: is up against, these forces trying to impoverish the American
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: people and even tear the country apart, are incredibly powerful.
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: He's contending with extraordinarily dangerous people. He's contending with people
- 1:49:12Speaker 2: that have stakes that run to the trillions. And they
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: will do anything to maintain power and money.
- 1:49:19Speaker 4: Anything.
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: I mean, we saw this guy, this gallery that ran
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: against Matthew come out and say that Matthew voted against
- 1:49:24Speaker 2: the Save America Act, which is just a lie. He
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: knew it. Said it anyway.
- 1:49:30Speaker 4: So..
- 1:49:31Speaker 2: And I'm sure some people believe it.
- 1:49:33Speaker 4: So..
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: So what Trump is facing is a battle, an epic battle,
- 1:49:39Speaker 2: at a level that no one else has ever faced.
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: None of the other presidents have faced it because they
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: didn't stand up to these guys. Now, remember the first
- 1:49:49Speaker 2: term when Donald Jr. went into a room one day
- 1:49:54Speaker 2: for 40 hours of deposition. It wasn't one day, it
- 1:49:56Speaker 2: was five days. He went day after day after day,
- 1:49:59Speaker 2: hour after hour, to be deposed, not because he'd done
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: something wrong or because they even had a crime to... Investigate.
- 1:50:06Speaker 2: They were just trying to get him to slip up.
- 1:50:09Speaker 2: What's really remarkable, he came out of that without a problem.
- 1:50:13Speaker 2: They got nothing on him.
- 1:50:14Speaker 17: It's remarkable.
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: There aren't really very many people who can make it
- 1:50:18Speaker 2: through a 40-hour deposition with attorneys and these incredibly well-paid
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: people who have massive motivation to destroy you and walk
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: away without a bruise. It was something else. Now, what
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: else would they be willing to do to those kids? Anything.
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: I mean, you've seen him go after Trump several times
- 1:50:38Speaker 2: trying to kill him. Some people think these are hoaxes.
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: Some people think they're not. You know, I've got to
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: tell you, when you have a sniper on a roof
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: shooting people in a crowd, it's pretty hard to take
- 1:50:47Speaker 2: that as a hoax. But this guy is fighting fights
- 1:50:53Speaker 2: that have never been fought on our behalf, that aren't
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: being fought in Europe much. They've fought in Hungary for
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: a little bit. It remains to be seen if they've
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: won or lost. and any study these powers let me
- 1:51:03Speaker 2: just think about helping human services you taking on albert
- 1:51:06Speaker 2: borla the head of fighter this man was comfortable putting
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: out an injection for six-month old children knowing that it
- 1:51:15Speaker 2: was going to kill a bunch of knowing that none
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: of the needed it that's the level of darkness that
- 1:51:24Speaker 2: we're talking about here but these people are and of
- 1:51:28Speaker 2: course How do we know we knew that? Well, because,
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: you know, we looked at the statistics and we read
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: a lot of the research and we heard the comments
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: made by the experts and, yeah, they knew. And we
- 1:51:38Speaker 2: all knew that there wasn't any kid that needed it.
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: Their risk from that silly COVID was minimal if there
- 1:51:44Speaker 2: was any risk at all. These people are so motivated
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: that they've taken that whole inside square of the grocery
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: store and made it effectively poison with dyes and chemicals
- 1:51:57Speaker 2: and And, you know, high fructose corn syrup, run around
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: telling us how natural it is, how.
- 1:52:04Speaker 6: Great it is.
- 1:52:05Speaker 2: They have created a food supply that is harming the populace.
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: By all accounts. And they don't care. Because they have
- 1:52:14Speaker 2: trillions of dollars in that industry flowing into pockets every day.
- 1:52:19Speaker 28: Right?
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: I mean, he's taken on this whole community of people
- 1:52:22Speaker 2: that take grants for research just to produce the research products.
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: that the grant offer, whoever offered the grant, whether it
- 1:52:29Speaker 2: be NOAA or whoever it is, they already tell you
- 1:52:31Speaker 2: what the conclusion is. Right at the grant it says
- 1:52:34Speaker 2: the climate's changing because of V8 engines. Got it. Those
- 1:52:38Speaker 2: people are making huge amounts of money. College professors making
- 1:52:40Speaker 2: $ 350, 000 a year teaching six hours a week. I mean,
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: there are massive financial interests that boil right down to
- 1:52:51Speaker 2: the people involved in these, I don't know what you'd
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: call them, crime syndicates? like our universities, that are just
- 1:53:01Speaker 2: motivated to keep this machine going. Why can't we get
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: off the $ 2 trillion deficits? Because Congress is corrupt and
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: there are millions of people sucking up that money. You
- 1:53:12Speaker 2: were talking earlier about how we see wealth increase. And
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: I think the caller, I think it was Mike, said
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: you can only increase wealth by growing productivity, which of
- 1:53:23Speaker 2: course is true. Productivity output. So what do you do
- 1:53:26Speaker 2: when you print more money? Well, you're taking the existing wealth,
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: cutting into the smaller bites, meaning a dollar is now
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: worth 90 cents, 80 cents, 50 cents. So you're cutting
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: the smaller bites and passing it out to different people.
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: In other words, when they print money, the government's just
- 1:53:41Speaker 2: reaching into your savings, taking out money, and handing it
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: to their friends and family. That's a crime syndicate. It's
- 1:53:49Speaker 2: not a legitimate government. So Trump is taking on People
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: that have trillions of dollars of motivation, who are evil
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: and dark, who are willing to kill, and, you know,
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: who will destabilize nations to make profit. This is a battle,
- 1:54:10Speaker 2: an existential battle for survival. Now, the SAVE Act is
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: a perfect example. So John Thune and the traitors in,
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: you know, Corn and all the rest of the traitors
- 1:54:21Speaker 2: in the Senate and the traitors in the House, They
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: get together and concoct a strategy to make sure that
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: our election security law that has 80% popularity among all
- 1:54:30Speaker 2: likely voters, Democrats, Independents, and Republicans, they make sure that
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: they're going to look the voter in the eye and say,
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: you can't have it.
- 1:54:38Speaker 18: Why?
- 1:54:38Speaker 2: Well, we've got these arcane rules of the Senate. And, well, wait,
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: which of those are in the Constitution? None of them.
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: But you can't have it.
- 1:54:48Speaker 22: Why?
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: Because they're corrupt. Is there any legitimate reason for anyone, Democrat, independent,
- 1:54:54Speaker 2: or Republican, in the Senate or in the House, to
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: refuse to increase the security of our elections? The answer, obviously,
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: is no. That's a ridiculous question to ask. And yet
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: it must be asked because they refuse. Trump then endorses Paxton,
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: clearly the more popular candidate. Now, I say that because
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: there were three contenders in that Senate race. Paxton had
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: about 40% of the vote. Cornyn about 44%. Neither of
- 1:55:18Speaker 2: them got 50%, so there's a runoff. But the third-place contender,
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: whose name just gave me right now, but he's really well-known, Donaldson,
- 1:55:27Speaker 2: he was 13.5%. The odds of those votes going to
- 1:55:31Speaker 2: corner him are near zero. So Trump now knows that
- 1:55:35Speaker 2: Paxton's probably going to win the runoff. So then he
- 1:55:37Speaker 2: endorses him after he makes it pretty obvious. But that
- 1:55:40Speaker 2: so enrages the Senate that they shut down the Senate,
- 1:55:44Speaker 2: storm off. Bill Cassidy gets defeated, not by $ 30 million
- 1:55:47Speaker 2: from Israel. He gets defeated by voters who've had enough
- 1:55:53Speaker 2: of his nonsense. He gets taken off the board by
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: voters in an election, which is a remarkable thing given
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: the nature.
- 1:56:01Speaker 4: Of our election.
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: Right, the old-fashioned way, not influenced by huge money coming
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: in from outside, yeah.
- 1:56:07Speaker 8: Exactly.
- 1:56:08Speaker 2: So they take this guy off the table because he's
- 1:56:10Speaker 2: a traitor, right? And they're starting to try to, the voters,
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: if they had the opportunity, would elect quality representatives who
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: would represent them effectively. but judge johnson closes the senate
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: says i'm going to get a pretend that i'm working
- 1:56:25Speaker 2: for you for the next month you voters pound salt
- 1:56:29Speaker 2: because we're gonna have a temper tantrum because donald trump
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: endorsed paxton we only want our boys in the senate
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: club in the club we run the country we do
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: what we want we are not bound to the voters
- 1:56:44Speaker 2: bound to agenda bound to a platform we're bound to
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: our own self-interest people are traitors So he shuts down
- 1:56:52Speaker 2: the Senate and walks off the field while this country
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: is facing multiple existential crises that he has created, in part,
- 1:57:02Speaker 2: not just him. Now, why do I say that? Well,
- 1:57:04Speaker 2: because John Goodman has been in the Senate for a
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: very long time. If he was a champion of secure elections,
- 1:57:10Speaker 2: we'd have secure elections. Him and his buddy McConnell.
- 1:57:14Speaker 22: So..
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: So that's the nature of the battle we're in. I
- 1:57:19Speaker 2: saw an image about a year ago of Trump sitting
- 1:57:21Speaker 2: at a table, and around him was just demons, just
- 1:57:24Speaker 2: these demonic-looking characters, obviously one of the finer uses of AI.
- 1:57:31Speaker 2: That's exactly what it's like. So now you've got a
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: guy that's in there that had this agenda. Now we
- 1:57:35Speaker 2: know full well how dedicated he was to the American agenda,
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: because in his first term, he fought like a demon
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: himself to execute it. He fought them all. And what'd
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: they do? COVID.
- 1:57:48Speaker 6: Right?
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: The injections. They did the election fraud in 2020, 81
- 1:57:55Speaker 2: million votes. Come on, nobody... Like, there are six people
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: remaining who believe that 81 million votes went to a
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: guy that didn't campaign. What'd they do? They executed a
- 1:58:05Speaker 2: coup using the Russia collusion hoax, the CIA.
- 1:58:08Speaker 6: The FBI, the..
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: John McCain, the Republican. They executed a coup attempt. They
- 1:58:16Speaker 2: raided his house. They made up a fake sex scandal
- 1:58:19Speaker 2: saying he raped some lunatic in a department store and
- 1:58:24Speaker 2: convicted him of like 34 counts of something, like business record...
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: Something or other. All nonsense. They tried to destroy his
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: companies by making it such that he couldn't get any
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: banks to bank him. And then they tried to destroy
- 1:58:39Speaker 2: his companies by putting a fine on him that would
- 1:58:42Speaker 2: require that he liquidate all of his assets to pay him.
- 1:58:46Speaker 2: I think of the magnitude of the attacks on this
- 1:58:49Speaker 2: guy simply because he was trying to act in the
- 1:58:52Speaker 2: interest of the American people. And now what are they
- 1:58:55Speaker 2: saying to him? Well, I don't know. I'd like to know.
- 1:58:59Speaker 2: But I suspect that right now him and his family
- 1:59:01Speaker 2: are facing both the carrot and the stick. You can
- 1:59:04Speaker 2: make a bunch of money in Gaza there, Witkoff and Kushner.
- 1:59:07Speaker 2: You know, a lot of money made destroying Gaza. There'll
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: be a lot of money made building it back up.
- 1:59:13Speaker 2: You can make some money on Bitcoin and these tokens
- 1:59:16Speaker 2: or whatever you're doing there, Donnie, you know, the boys.
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: Maybe do a little deal in Kazakhstan. Now, that won't
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: be like Burisma. That'll be a deal where they actually
- 1:59:25Speaker 2: bring value. But nevertheless, you know, they now have a
- 1:59:28Speaker 2: private equity fund. The boys, you'll notice, have stayed out
- 1:59:31Speaker 2: of government and are working very hard making money. They're
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: going to make billions. And what's the alternative? I don't
- 1:59:39Speaker 2: know this, but I wonder if they don't point to
- 1:59:42Speaker 2: the guy in Florida and point to the guy at Butler.
- 1:59:45Speaker 2: Not this goofy guy.
- 1:59:46Speaker 9: In the.
- 1:59:48Speaker 2: White House press center. I don't know what that was.
- 1:59:51Speaker 2: But they point to these guys and they point to
- 1:59:53Speaker 2: Kennedy and they point to others and they say, listen,
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: you can fight us And it'll be the last thing
- 1:59:58Speaker 2: you do.
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: Stand by. Back with G2 in a minute.
- 2:00:02Speaker 10: Com.
- 2:00:03Speaker 3: Youngstown's news, weather, and talk station. 570 WKBN.
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: With the Guardians pregame after the news break at 6.
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: And first pitch a little bar on 630 with G2
- 2:00:15Speaker 1: in a short segment on NewsRadio 570 WKBN. So, with
- 2:00:21Speaker 1: a few minutes remaining, take it away.
- 2:00:24Speaker 2: So so but my point is that this guy you
- 2:00:27Speaker 2: know just think about it lock in the border that
- 2:00:28Speaker 2: seems like it's a simple thing it's what any government
- 2:00:30Speaker 2: do however they didn't they left it open they brought
- 2:00:35Speaker 2: in millions you know he stopped the flow of fentanyl
- 2:00:38Speaker 2: through that's go then through canada he went back and
- 2:00:40Speaker 2: fought against these countries on their tariffs that were designed
- 2:00:45Speaker 2: specifically to milk the united states uh... of its wealth
- 2:00:49Speaker 2: you know the guy has done tremendous things I don't
- 2:00:53Speaker 2: think you can look at something like the war in
- 2:00:55Speaker 2: Iran and say this was done because, you know, it
- 2:00:59Speaker 2: was in the best interest of the United States at
- 2:01:01Speaker 2: that time. You know, I'm more worried about certainly the
- 2:01:04Speaker 2: Democrats than I am about the mullahs in Iran. You
- 2:01:08Speaker 2: look at losing somebody like Tulsi Gabbard, that's a problem.
- 2:01:10Speaker 2: You know, it's quite possible that going into this war,
- 2:01:15Speaker 2: on the advice of Assad and maybe the CIA, too,
- 2:01:18Speaker 2: I don't know that's true. But he believed this would
- 2:01:21Speaker 2: be quite easy. You know, we're going to bomb them
- 2:01:23Speaker 2: a few thousand times, and, you know, they're going to capitulate. Well,
- 2:01:26Speaker 2: it's not true. And so now we're in this quagmire.
- 2:01:29Speaker 2: That's causing real problems, causing them to lose a lot
- 2:01:31Speaker 2: of support. Now, I don't know all the reasons why
- 2:01:34Speaker 2: Massey has been removed. We know some of them, but
- 2:01:38Speaker 2: not all of them. And the questions are huge. So
- 2:01:43Speaker 2: did Massey get removed just because he demanded that Epstein's
- 2:01:47Speaker 2: clients be revealed? No, I think that's a factor, just
- 2:01:51Speaker 2: because he demanded that AIPAC, or put forward law that
- 2:01:55Speaker 2: would require AIPAC and other foreign lobbyists to register as.
- 2:01:58Speaker 6: Foreign lobbyists, maybe.
- 2:02:00Speaker 2: I know they're citizens, okay, fine. Nobody's confused about what
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: AIPAC represents. It's lobbying for Israel. So was it that,
- 2:02:10Speaker 2: or was it the fact that he's fighting the protections
- 2:02:13Speaker 2: for Monsanto on... On Glyphosate, and is that tied somehow
- 2:02:18Speaker 2: to concerns that Pfizer has that maybe they lose their protections?
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: That'll get you $ 30 million. But think about this. A
- 2:02:24Speaker 2: hardcore Jew-hating, anti-Semitic guy just got elected to Congress in
- 2:02:31Speaker 2: Philadelphia in the primaries. His name is Rab. I just
- 2:02:34Speaker 2: heard about this guy today. Jamie Raskin campaigned for him,
- 2:02:38Speaker 2: and he's openly anti-Semitic.
- 2:02:40Speaker 1: We've got to pick it up in that spot next week.
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: Have a great weekend, G2. Appreciate it.
- 2:02:54Speaker 11: I'm Mike Dabusky. An explosion at a shipyard in Staten Island,
- 2:02:57Speaker 11: New York, has sent 16 people to the hospital. It
- 2:03:00Speaker 11: is unclear at this point what caused the blast. Tulsi
- 2:03:03Speaker 11: Gabbard will step down at the end of June as
- 2:03:05Speaker 11: Director of National Intelligence. In a statement, she says she'd
- 2:03:08Speaker 11: like to spend more time with her husband as he
- 2:03:10Speaker 11: deals with a bone cancer diagnosis. President Trump overseeing the
- 2:03:14Speaker 11: swearing-in of Kevin Warsh as the new Federal Reserve Chairman
- 2:03:17Speaker 11: this afternoon.
- 2:03:18Speaker 1: Thankfully, unlike some of his predecessors, Kevin understands that when
- 2:03:22Speaker 1: the economy is booming... That's a good thing. We don't
- 2:03:27Speaker 1: have to go crazy. Just let it boom.
- 2:03:29Speaker 4: We want it to boom.
- 2:03:30Speaker 11: Trump often clashed with the previous Fed chair, Jerome Powell,
- 2:03:33Speaker 11: over lowering interest rates.
- 2:03:35Speaker 1: A third federal.
- 2:03:36Speaker 11: Lawsuit was lodged today against the Department of Justice over
- 2:03:39Speaker 11: its $ 1. 8 billion anti-weaponization fund. ABC senior White House correspondent
- 2:03:44Speaker 11: Selena Wang.
- 2:03:45Speaker 16: This is a fund that would reward the president's allies.
- 2:03:49Speaker 16: It could even compensate rioters who stormed the Capitol on
- 2:03:53Speaker 16: January 6th and attacked police officers. So some strong statements
- 2:03:57Speaker 16: coming from Republican members of Congress, including Senator Mitch McConnell.
- 2:04:01Speaker 16: He said, quote, so the nation's top law enforcement official
- 2:04:04Speaker 16: is asking for a slush fund to pay people who
- 2:04:07Speaker 16: assault cops.
- 2:04:08Speaker 31: Utterly stupid, morally wrong.
- 2:04:10Speaker 17: Take your pick.
- 2:04:11Speaker 11: There are new details about the death of NASCAR champion
- 2:04:14Speaker 11: Kyle Busch.
- 2:04:15Speaker 27: Two weeks ago, he was heard on the radio, on
- 2:04:17Speaker 27: the racing radio, calling for a doctor during a race
- 2:04:20Speaker 27: in New York. And race announcer said it was a
- 2:04:23Speaker 27: sinus infection. But then at the GM training center this week,
- 2:04:26Speaker 27: he became ill. And just reading from the 911 call,
- 2:04:30Speaker 27: the caller is saying, I have an individual that shortness
- 2:04:33Speaker 27: of breath, very hot. He's about to pass out. He's
- 2:04:36Speaker 27: producing a little bit of blood. and coughing up some
- 2:04:39Speaker 27: of that blood. And the ambulance came at that point.
- 2:04:41Speaker 27: He went to the hospital, his family saying it was
- 2:04:43Speaker 27: a serious illness, and then he died.
- 2:04:45Speaker 11: ABC's Alex Stone, you're listening to ABC News.
- 2:05:01Speaker 14: Good evening, everyone. Welcome to the Bet365 Guardians warm-up show
- 2:05:05Speaker 14: tonight from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. It's the Guardians
- 2:05:10Speaker 14: and the Philadelphia Phillies, game one of this three-game series.
- 2:05:14Speaker 14: Jim Rosenhouse along with you. Guardians looking to stay hot,
- 2:05:17Speaker 14: one of the hottest clubs in baseball as they've won
- 2:05:20Speaker 14: six in a row now. after sweeping the Detroit Tigers
- 2:05:23Speaker 14: in a four-game series. Now it's on to face the Phillies,
- 2:05:27Speaker 14: who are red hot. The Phillies, who began the year 9-19,
- 2:05:30Speaker 14: are back to the 500 mark. And while they are
- 2:05:33Speaker 14: 9-1⁄2 out in the NL East, they are certainly figuring
- 2:05:37Speaker 14: to be a team to contend with for the remainder
- 2:05:40Speaker 14: of the season. Guardians coming in in first place in
- 2:05:43Speaker 14: the AL Central, 3-1⁄2 up now on the second-place White Sox.
- 2:05:47Speaker 14: Stay tuned. We'll have more to come after this. Welcome
- 2:06:01Speaker 14: back to Guardian's Warm-Up. It's time for the weekly farm
- 2:06:04Speaker 14: report with Stephen Osterer, the Vice President of Player Development.
- 2:06:07Speaker 14: And we go to the lowest level of full-season baseball
- 2:06:11Speaker 14: in the Guardian's farm system, Carolina League. the Hill City
- 2:06:15Speaker 14: Howlers based out of Lynchburg, Virginia. And, Asti, I know
- 2:06:19Speaker 14: it's always a fun level because a lot of these
- 2:06:21Speaker 14: players are going through that first full season for the
- 2:06:24Speaker 14: first time. But the first player I wanted to talk
- 2:06:26Speaker 14: about was someone we saw quite a bit in spring training,
- 2:06:29Speaker 14: especially toward the tail end, Dari Fernandez, who looks like
- 2:06:33Speaker 14: he's off to a real nice start both at the
- 2:06:35Speaker 14: plate and in the field.
- 2:06:37Speaker 20: Yeah, good morning, Rosie.
- 2:06:39Speaker 30: The Hill City group, to your point, has got a
- 2:06:42Speaker 30: lot of energy. It's been a week there, and they're
- 2:06:45Speaker 30: really fun to watch, the young guys. But Dari's one
- 2:06:48Speaker 30: of those players who's young. He's really talented. He's a
- 2:06:52Speaker 30: switch-hitting infielder who's played a lot of his time last
- 2:06:55Speaker 30: year in the Arizona Complex level and got a small
- 2:06:58Speaker 30: taste of the affiliate life last year when winning that
- 2:07:02Speaker 30: championship and you know he's a really interesting profile offensively
- 2:07:06Speaker 30: he's got really strong back-to-ball skills but is also aggressive
- 2:07:11Speaker 30: in zone and and out of zone and tends to
- 2:07:14Speaker 30: chase pitches sometimes but still remains really productive at the
- 2:07:17Speaker 30: plate so there's been a lot of work you know
- 2:07:20Speaker 30: cleaning up the swing decisions getting him to understand and
- 2:07:23Speaker 30: stay within more of his like targeted swing zones and
- 2:07:26Speaker 30: that's been a strong emphasis to start the year and
- 2:07:29Speaker 30: You know, he's really gifted as an athlete and spends
- 2:07:34Speaker 30: a lot of his time on the left side of
- 2:07:35Speaker 30: the infield, but he's pretty much handled everyday shortstop duties
- 2:07:38Speaker 30: with an injury the last few weeks for one of
- 2:07:41Speaker 30: our other infielders. Yeah, he's got a plus arm strength
- 2:07:44Speaker 30: out there. He's a strong and accurate thrower. He's got
- 2:07:47Speaker 30: good actions and presence at the position, and he's developing
- 2:07:50Speaker 30: really well there. So it's been exciting to see him
- 2:07:52Speaker 30: get a lot more of those playing reps at shortstop.
- 2:07:55Speaker 30: And like a lot of these young players, There's just
- 2:07:58Speaker 30: a huge tie-in to the physical development like we've talked
- 2:08:01Speaker 30: about and and how that fits to just the long-term
- 2:08:04Speaker 30: view of what he could be and you know we're
- 2:08:06Speaker 30: looking to continue to build off of a really good
- 2:08:08Speaker 30: offseason where he we saw him tack on some strength
- 2:08:10Speaker 30: and power and.
- 2:08:11Speaker 2: Muscle mass and you know there's still some.
- 2:08:13Speaker 30: Frame to go and and some work to be done
- 2:08:16Speaker 30: there and We think that will translate long-term to more
- 2:08:19Speaker 30: power and punch offensively, but handling the position really well
- 2:08:23Speaker 30: right now and doing a lot of good things.
- 2:08:25Speaker 14: He's just a fun one to watch. We'll take a
- 2:08:27Speaker 14: timeout and then talk pitching. at hill city when we
- 2:08:31Speaker 14: return after this.
- 2:08:33Speaker 23: Here's the bet 365 minute where winning is everything with
- 2:08:36Speaker 23: scott davidson let's.
- 2:08:37Speaker 32: Check out the numbers tonight the guardians are hot but
- 2:08:40Speaker 32: they're a big underdog tonight philadelphia minus 185 low total
- 2:08:44Speaker 32: it's six and a half and let's keep this red
- 2:08:46Speaker 32: hot run going here let's give you another winner on
- 2:08:49Speaker 32: a money line play i like the red socks over
- 2:08:51Speaker 32: the twins tonight now it's rising star peyton toley on
- 2:08:54Speaker 32: a hill he goes against another rising star and that
- 2:08:58Speaker 32: is connor prelip but Prelip gets no run support. He's
- 2:09:01Speaker 32: kind of like Tanner Bybee. And the big deciding factor
- 2:09:04Speaker 32: for me here is that Boston is currently the best
- 2:09:06Speaker 32: team in the majors at hitting lefties. So we get
- 2:09:09Speaker 32: two good pitchers and one team that just crushes left-handed pitching.
- 2:09:14Speaker 32: The Red Sox are coming off a sweep in KC.
- 2:09:16Speaker 1: I like them tonight on the Moneyline.
- 2:09:18Speaker 32: Now you can join me when you download the Bet365 app.

- 2:09:30Speaker 1: Must be physically located in Ohio. Welcome back.
- 2:09:35Speaker 14: It's Guardians warm-up. Steven Oster is joining us. He's the
- 2:09:37Speaker 14: vice president of player development for the Guardians. We're talking
- 2:09:40Speaker 14: about the single-A affiliate in the Carolina League, the Hill
- 2:09:43Speaker 14: City Howlers. And we'll turn to the mound, and you
- 2:09:46Speaker 14: have an award winner, a Carolina League award winner for
- 2:09:49Speaker 14: the early portion of the schedule, left-hander Harrison Bodendorf. And
- 2:09:53Speaker 14: what's Bodendorf done to really stand out in the early season?
- 2:09:57Speaker 30: Yeah, it's always fun having an early award, and yeah,
- 2:10:01Speaker 30: Harrison came out and pitched extremely well over the starts
- 2:10:05Speaker 30: that he's made in April, and this was a left-handed
- 2:10:09Speaker 30: college arm that we took last year in the draft,
- 2:10:11Speaker 30: and he was maybe a tick on the polished side
- 2:10:15Speaker 30: when we took him, and we thought there's a lot
- 2:10:18Speaker 30: of development left to gain, and he was a performer,
- 2:10:22Speaker 30: a strikethrower, and yeah, there are some things that we
- 2:10:25Speaker 30: could tap into from a velocity standpoint.
- 2:10:27Speaker 20: And, and things that we can kind of build upon as,
- 2:10:30Speaker 20: as we got him.
- 2:10:31Speaker 2: So he's got a unique.
- 2:10:33Speaker 9: Slot with a fastball.
- 2:10:35Speaker 30: It's going to play above its current velocity, which is
- 2:10:38Speaker 30: holding down to maybe in the low nineties. It's, it's
- 2:10:40Speaker 30: more East to West from the, from an arsenal standpoint,
- 2:10:43Speaker 30: he's got a really good change up. He's done a
- 2:10:47Speaker 30: phenomenal job of just controlling counts and getting ahead. And
- 2:10:50Speaker 30: that's resulted in not really walking anyone. And, His stuff
- 2:10:54Speaker 30: has played up because of it, and he's striking out
- 2:10:56Speaker 30: about 36% of the batters he's facing, which is a lot. Again,
- 2:11:00Speaker 30: I think the long-term vision for him here is just
- 2:11:04Speaker 30: hinge on him continuing to gain velocity over time. This
- 2:11:07Speaker 30: is probably more of a slow drip than it is
- 2:11:09Speaker 30: a hurried rush, and we've seen some of that development already.
- 2:11:14Speaker 30: That part is really exciting.
- 2:11:16Speaker 2: He's got a big frame. He's a big guy.
- 2:11:18Speaker 30: There's a lot of room left for growth physically, so
- 2:11:21Speaker 30: We're seeing that upward trajectory to start his professional career,
- 2:11:25Speaker 30: and we think that we can continue to see that
- 2:11:27Speaker 30: moving forward. Bodendorf has come out as hot as anyone
- 2:11:32Speaker 30: in that league, obviously, and there's a lot to like
- 2:11:35Speaker 30: and build upon for the future.
- 2:11:37Speaker 14: I know most are a ways away from the major leagues,
- 2:11:40Speaker 14: but it's exciting to hear about what could be for
- 2:11:43Speaker 14: a lot of these guys. Asti, always fun to have
- 2:11:45Speaker 14: you along. Thank you.
- 2:11:47Speaker 18: Thank you, Rosie.
- 2:11:48Speaker 14: That is Stephen Oster, Vice President of Player Development. Stay tuned.
- 2:11:51Speaker 14: We'll have more to come after this.
- 2:11:54Speaker 33: Do you read more about your team in the offseason

- 2:14:02Speaker 14: Welcome back to the Bet365 Guardians warm-up show. Time for
- 2:14:06Speaker 14: our pregame weather forecast from back in northeast Ohio, courtesy

- 2:14:25Speaker 21: the 50s. Our overnight lows 54 with more rain and
- 2:14:28Speaker 21: rumbles of thunder. Saturday, morning rain and then scattered showers
- 2:14:32Speaker 21: and a rumble of thunder during the afternoon. It's going
- 2:14:35Speaker 21: to be blustery, a high 72. From the 3 News
- 2:14:38Speaker 21: Weather Center, I'm Mark Johnson.
- 2:14:41Speaker 14: Touch and go weekend here. When we come back, Tom
- 2:14:44Speaker 14: Hamilton visits with manager Stephen Fote. It's the Key Bank
- 2:14:47Speaker 14: Manager Show, and it comes your way next on the
- 2:14:49Speaker 14: Cleveland Clinic Radio Network. Hi again, everybody, with Cleveland manager
- 2:15:05Speaker 14: Stephen Booth. This is Tom Hamilton.
- 2:15:06Speaker 8: Welcome.
- 2:15:07Speaker 14: It's the Manager's Show. It's brought to you by KeyBank. Okay,
- 2:15:11Speaker 14: I know you don't look back, but doggone it, can't
- 2:15:14Speaker 14: we for a couple of minutes here? That was some
- 2:15:16Speaker 14: kind of four-game series.
- 2:15:18Speaker 20: Yeah, it was, and we could definitely look back. We
- 2:15:19Speaker 20: haven't started tonight yet.
- 2:15:21Speaker 1: What a fun series.
- 2:15:24Speaker 15: You know, you get a big win Monday night and
- 2:15:26Speaker 15: then three close ones. And, you know, we pitched well.
- 2:15:29Speaker 15: We had timely hitting, some clutch hitting, and some really
- 2:15:32Speaker 15: good defense. And it was just a really, really fun four.
- 2:15:36Speaker 15: It's hard to win three out of four, let alone sweep,
- 2:15:38Speaker 15: and really fun for our guys.
- 2:15:40Speaker 14: And again, we haven't even quite gotten to Memorial Day.
- 2:15:44Speaker 14: But what does that do for your club?
- 2:15:46Speaker 1: Let's face it.
- 2:15:47Speaker 14: You two have really become rivals, Cleveland and Detroit, here
- 2:15:51Speaker 14: over the last, if you include this year, three years.
- 2:15:53Speaker 15: Yeah, I mean, I think it's good, especially for our
- 2:15:55Speaker 15: young guys, because, you know, they've watched this series between us,
- 2:15:58Speaker 15: and we know the Tigers aren't going anywhere.
- 2:16:01Speaker 20: We know they're going to be back.
- 2:16:02Speaker 15: We know that they're going to get healthy and get better,
- 2:16:04Speaker 15: and so for us to go in there and take four,
- 2:16:07Speaker 15: it's a big swing for us, and just for our
- 2:16:10Speaker 15: guys to know, like, this little stretch we've been on,
- 2:16:12Speaker 15: we're capable of doing this, and that's really powerful going into,
- 2:16:16Speaker 15: you know, 111 games left.
- 2:16:19Speaker 14: You may not have wanted to diagram the way things
- 2:16:22Speaker 14: went last year for you, but the fact that you
- 2:16:25Speaker 14: were on the other end of it and came from
- 2:16:27Speaker 14: 15 and a half back, came from 11 back in September,
- 2:16:31Speaker 14: does that help your club now when you're on the
- 2:16:34Speaker 14: other side or the good side?
- 2:16:35Speaker 15: Yeah, again, we're trying not to look at the standings
- 2:16:37Speaker 15: this time of year, and we just want to focus
- 2:16:40Speaker 15: on today's game and win today's game, and If we
- 2:16:42Speaker 15: can just keep stacking good days, if we can just
- 2:16:45Speaker 15: keep stacking good wins, good well-played games, you know, you're
- 2:16:48Speaker 15: not going to win every game, but we want to
- 2:16:50Speaker 15: play well every day. And if we can continue to
- 2:16:51Speaker 15: stack those days, we're going to like where we end up.
- 2:16:54Speaker 14: Okay, what do you like best of what you're seeing
- 2:16:56Speaker 14: here over the last two-plus weeks?
- 2:16:58Speaker 15: Well, just the quality of bats. You know, obviously we're
- 2:17:01Speaker 15: pitching well. I feel like we never talk about the
- 2:17:03Speaker 15: pitching when it's going well. We don't ever give them
- 2:17:05Speaker 15: the credit. I mean, our starters have been great. The
- 2:17:08Speaker 15: bullpen has been fantastic. And they're getting good defense behind them.
- 2:17:11Speaker 15: They're using their fielders. But the quality of bats, I mean,
- 2:17:14Speaker 15: the walks, we're getting on base, we're touching first, and
- 2:17:18Speaker 15: then we're executing when we get those runners in scoring position.
- 2:17:21Speaker 20: I mean, we've been bunting a lot.
- 2:17:23Speaker 15: We've been hitting some sack flies, getting some RBI ground outs.
- 2:17:26Speaker 15: We're running the base as well. There's just a lot
- 2:17:28Speaker 15: to be happy about, but we have to keep going.
- 2:17:30Speaker 14: This is a more dangerous lineup than a year ago,
- 2:17:33Speaker 14: isn't it?
- 2:17:34Speaker 1: By far, yeah.
- 2:17:35Speaker 15: I mean, just getting some of our younger hitters here
- 2:17:37Speaker 15: and adding people like Hoskins who gives you a quality
- 2:17:40Speaker 15: at bat every single time.
- 2:17:42Speaker 20: We really feel like this is a very deep lineup.
- 2:17:44Speaker 20: I mean, you see it.
- 2:17:45Speaker 15: Brian Rocchio is one of our best hitters, hitting ninth.
- 2:17:47Speaker 15: And Stephen Kwan's hitting seventh for us. I mean, that
- 2:17:50Speaker 15: is a very long lineup.
- 2:17:51Speaker 1: All right.
- 2:17:52Speaker 14: This is a whole different animal now. The Philadelphia Phillies
- 2:17:56Speaker 14: in this ballpark, they look like the Phillies again, don't they?
- 2:17:59Speaker 15: Yeah, they got off to a slow start. This is
- 2:18:02Speaker 15: one of the best teams in baseball. They have been
- 2:18:04Speaker 15: for the last few years. They still are It's a
- 2:18:06Speaker 15: really long, deep lineup. They've got three very good starting
- 2:18:09Speaker 15: pitchers thrown at us, and the back end of their
- 2:18:11Speaker 15: bullpen is pretty good.
- 2:18:12Speaker 20: So we've got our work cut out for us. We
- 2:18:14Speaker 20: know that. We came here two years ago and took
- 2:18:16Speaker 20: a series from them. That's our goal this one. Let's
- 2:18:18Speaker 20: win this series too.
- 2:18:19Speaker 14: How do you attack a guy like Schwarber? Now he's
- 2:18:22Speaker 14: missed three games because he had a stomach bug, but
- 2:18:25Speaker 14: voter nine home runs in 10 games, and he already
- 2:18:28Speaker 14: has 20?
- 2:18:28Speaker 20: Yeah, I mean, there's a reason. He's the only DH
- 2:18:32Speaker 20: left in baseball.
- 2:18:33Speaker 15: I mean, this kid can hit, and he always has
- 2:18:35Speaker 15: everywhere he's been, but.
- 2:18:37Speaker 20: We just have to make pitches. Every good hitter has holes.
- 2:18:40Speaker 20: They have weaknesses.
- 2:18:40Speaker 15: It's still hard to square the ball up. Just make
- 2:18:43Speaker 15: quality pitches to him, and hopefully he pops them up.
- 2:18:45Speaker 14: How has Sanchez gotten to 29 consecutive innings without giving
- 2:18:50Speaker 14: up a run? What makes him special?
- 2:18:52Speaker 20: I mean, he's a tough lefty. It's a tough angle.
- 2:18:54Speaker 15: He's got a really good sinker, and his changeup is
- 2:18:57Speaker 15: very hard, and it bites, and Anytime you've got two
- 2:19:00Speaker 15: really good ground ball pitches like that, it's very similar
- 2:19:03Speaker 15: to Framber that we did.
- 2:19:04Speaker 20: So we've got to hit them in the air.
- 2:19:05Speaker 15: That's the goal again today. Let's see how many fly
- 2:19:07Speaker 15: balls we can hit. We've got to hit it over
- 2:19:09Speaker 15: the infielders' heads.
- 2:19:11Speaker 14: I sense you're excited for this series. Fun to see
- 2:19:13Speaker 14: how you match up, isn't it?
- 2:19:14Speaker 20: Yeah, it's always fun. It's fun to come to these
- 2:19:16Speaker 20: National League parks every other year. It really is. This
- 2:19:20Speaker 20: is a great place to play. It's a weekend. It's
- 2:19:21Speaker 20: going to be crazy and crowded. I'm sure the Philly
- 2:19:25Speaker 20: fans will be very kind to us.
- 2:19:26Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 2:19:27Speaker 15: They won't have any smart-aleck comments for us. It'll be
- 2:19:30Speaker 15: just a nice, quiet weekend here in Philly.
- 2:19:32Speaker 14: There you have it, folks. Stephen Vogt, the American League
- 2:19:34Speaker 14: Manager of the Year. Tom Hamilton inviting you to stay
- 2:19:37Speaker 14: tuned for this first game of the weekend series with Philly,
- 2:19:40Speaker 14: next on the Cleveland Clinic Radio Network. Welcome back to
- 2:19:49Speaker 14: the Bet365 Guardians warm-up show. Time for the pitching matchup
- 2:19:54Speaker 14: as the Guardians and Phillies get ready for Game 1.
- 2:19:57Speaker 14: of this three-game weekend series. Right-hander Gavin Williams on the
- 2:20:01Speaker 14: mound for the Guardians. Six and three after ten starts,
- 2:20:04Speaker 14: an earned run average of 3.67. Coming off a win
- 2:20:08Speaker 14: in his last time out, Sunday against the Reds with
- 2:20:11Speaker 14: six strong innings, two starts in his career against the Phillies.
- 2:20:15Speaker 14: He's pitched nine innings and allowed just one run. He'll
- 2:20:18Speaker 14: be opposed by the tough lefty, Christopher Sanchez, one of
- 2:20:21Speaker 14: the best in baseball. 5-2 this year with an ERA
- 2:20:25Speaker 14: of 1.82. He's coming off a shutout against the Pirates
- 2:20:30Speaker 14: on Saturday in which he struck out 13, didn't walk
- 2:20:33Speaker 14: a batter. Only time he's faced the Guardians was right
- 2:20:36Speaker 14: here two years ago. Guardians got to him. They pinned
- 2:20:39Speaker 14: a loss on Sanchez as he allowed three runs in
- 2:20:42Speaker 14: six innings. That's your pitching matchup. And that'll do it
- 2:20:45Speaker 14: for Guardians warm-up. Stay tuned. Starting lineups and the first pitch.

- 2:25:15Speaker 14: Time now for the starting lineups. First for the Guardians
- 2:25:17Speaker 14: and manager Stephen Vogt. Leading things off, Angel Martinez, the
- 2:25:21Speaker 14: right fielder. Jose Ramirez at third base, bats second. Reese Hoskins,
- 2:25:26Speaker 14: the first baseman, will bat third with David Fry, the
- 2:25:28Speaker 14: designated hitter, batting cleanup. Travis Bazzana at second base hits fifth.
- 2:25:33Speaker 14: Brian Rocchio, the shortstop, will bat sixth. Stephen Kwan in
- 2:25:37Speaker 14: left field hits seventh. Austin Hedges will do the catching
- 2:25:40Speaker 14: and bat eighth. And Petey Halpin is in center field
- 2:25:43Speaker 14: batting ninth. On the mound. It's right-hander Gavin Williams. Now
- 2:25:48Speaker 14: for the Phillies and their manager Don Mattingly. Leading things off,
- 2:25:51Speaker 14: Trey Turner, the shortstop. Kyle Schwarber, the designated hitter, bats second.
- 2:25:56Speaker 14: Bryce Harper will hit third and play first base. Alec
- 2:25:59Speaker 14: Boehm at third base hits cleanup. Brandon Marsh, the left fielder,
- 2:26:02Speaker 14: bats fifth. Adolis Garcia in right field hits sixth. Bryson Stott,
- 2:26:07Speaker 14: the second baseman, bats seventh. J.T. Realmuto is doing the catching.
- 2:26:12Speaker 14: He'll hit eighth. and batting ninth in center field, Justin Crawford.
- 2:26:17Speaker 14: On the mound tonight for the Philadelphia Phillies, it's lefty
- 2:26:21Speaker 14: Christopher Sanchez. Those of you who are starting lineups, now
- 2:26:24Speaker 14: stay tuned. When we return, Tom Hamilton has tonight's first
- 2:26:28Speaker 14: pitch on the Cleveland Clinic Radio Network.
- 2:26:32Speaker 35: Stadium GM. Nobody beats a stadium deal. West State Street

- 2:26:49Speaker 1: Elite is the mission.
- 2:27:13Speaker 14: From Citizens Bank Park, right near the Delaware River, we
- 2:27:20Speaker 14: greet you tonight from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Game number 53, as
- 2:27:26Speaker 14: the Cleveland Guardians and the Philadelphia Phillies are slated to
- 2:27:31Speaker 14: start this game in the rain. The rain continues to fall,
- 2:27:36Speaker 14: but right now they have lined the field. and we
- 2:27:40Speaker 14: are starting this game. And if you're wondering, huh, here's
- 2:27:44Speaker 14: the reason why. This might be the best weather we
- 2:27:47Speaker 14: have the rest of the weekend, what we have right now.
- 2:27:50Speaker 14: The eastern seaboard is getting pounded by cold temperatures and rain,
- 2:27:56Speaker 14: and it's already started here. There's already talk that there
- 2:28:02Speaker 14: could be a day-night doubleheader on Sunday. Get this, folks.
- 2:28:07Speaker 14: Philly plays Monday afternoon in San Diego. How in the
- 2:28:11Speaker 14: world you can make the Phillies play a day-night doubleheader
- 2:28:15Speaker 14: here on Sunday and then play a Monday day game
- 2:28:19Speaker 14: in San Diego is another story, but that's already what
- 2:28:23Speaker 14: is being discussed. That's how bad the weather forecast is
- 2:28:27Speaker 14: here in Philadelphia. Hi again, everybody. This is Tom Hamilton
- 2:28:32Speaker 14: along with Jim Rosenhouse. We have our good buddy from
- 2:28:35Speaker 14: Baltimore in the booth with us tonight, Tim Jones, and
- 2:28:39Speaker 14: back at Command Center, Brian Motze. Lineup cards are being
- 2:28:44Speaker 14: exchanged with the men in blue, or in this case tonight,
- 2:28:48Speaker 14: the men in black. Junior Valentine, the home plate umpire tonight.
- 2:28:52Speaker 14: Jordan Baker, the crew chief at first. Dylan Wilson at second,
- 2:28:56Speaker 14: and Stu Sherwater at third. There is absolutely no sign
- 2:29:01Speaker 14: of the grounds crew as the tarp is rolled up
- 2:29:05Speaker 14: in foul territory tonight. and up against the grandstand area
- 2:29:09Speaker 14: down the left field line. So there's no question, we
- 2:29:12Speaker 14: are starting this ballgame in the rain. Cleveland coming in
- 2:29:17Speaker 14: red hot. They've peeled off six straight wins, nine out
- 2:29:21Speaker 14: of ten. Their record now 30-22, and they've opened up
- 2:29:26Speaker 14: a three-and-a-half game lead on the Chicago White Sox in
- 2:29:29Speaker 14: the AL Central. In the NL East, right now Atlanta
- 2:29:34Speaker 14: is running away with it. The Braves have a nine-and-a-half
- 2:29:39Speaker 14: game lead on Philadelphia. The Phillies in second place at 25-25.
- 2:29:45Speaker 14: The Braves the only team in the National League East
- 2:29:48Speaker 14: that's above.
- 2:29:49Speaker 1: 500.
- 2:29:49Speaker 14: And Philly was ten games under.
- 2:29:53Speaker 2: 500.
- 2:29:54Speaker 14: Fired their manager, and they have clawed their way back
- 2:29:59Speaker 14: to the break-even mark. Here at Citizens Bank Park, this
- 2:30:06Speaker 14: is one of the great baseball parks in all of baseball. Normally,
- 2:30:10Speaker 14: it's as an electric and atmosphere as any park in baseball.
- 2:30:15Speaker 14: When you talk about electric atmospheres, you're two top ballparks
- 2:30:20Speaker 14: when you get a consensus from most baseball people. Our
- 2:30:25Speaker 14: San Diego and Philadelphia, when it comes to electricity, sellout crowds,
- 2:30:32Speaker 14: fan engagement, those two seem to be at the top
- 2:30:36Speaker 14: of the leaderboard. We're not going to have that kind
- 2:30:39Speaker 14: of an atmosphere here tonight because even though they were
- 2:30:42Speaker 14: expecting mostly sellout crowds this Memorial weekend, the rain is
- 2:30:48Speaker 14: keeping a lot of people awake. As the Phillies take
- 2:30:51Speaker 14: the field in the rain in their City Connect jerseys.
- 2:30:56Speaker 14: And to say they're unique would be an understatement. They
- 2:31:02Speaker 14: have some kind of shade of blue for half the jersey.
- 2:31:08Speaker 14: And then they've got a darker blue below it. Black pants,
- 2:31:12Speaker 14: some white trim, some yellow trim.
- 2:31:15Speaker 22: It..
- 2:31:17Speaker 14: It's unique. Cleveland's in their road gray uniforms with the
- 2:31:21Speaker 14: navy blue and the red trim. Here at Citizens Bank Park.
- 2:31:27Speaker 14: This park opened up in 2004. The dimensions read like this.
- 2:31:30Speaker 14: 330 down the right field line. It is 369 to
- 2:31:33Speaker 14: right center. 401 to dead center.
- 2:31:34Speaker 2: It is..
- 2:31:34Speaker 14: 374 to the gap in left center, and then 329
- 2:31:48Speaker 14: down the left field line. The wall, well, in right
- 2:31:53Speaker 14: and right center, it's 13 feet 3 inches. Straightaway center,
- 2:31:58Speaker 14: it's just 6 feet high. Then in parts of left field,
- 2:32:04Speaker 14: it's 10 1⁄2 feet high up to 19 feet high
- 2:32:08Speaker 14: just to the left of straightaway center. A ballpark that
- 2:32:13Speaker 14: seats nearly 43,000, and normally most of those seats are filled.
- 2:32:19Speaker 14: They've got the dark blue seats in this beautiful ballpark. It's,
- 2:32:24Speaker 14: in essence, a three-deck affair. You've got the upper deck
- 2:32:29Speaker 14: that does have a bit of a divide to it,
- 2:32:31Speaker 14: but the three decks start in the left field corner,
- 2:32:35Speaker 14: work their way around the home plate, down the right
- 2:32:37Speaker 14: field line, out into right center, and then two decks
- 2:32:41Speaker 14: succeeding out in left and left center. One of the
- 2:32:44Speaker 14: best pitchers in baseball this season on the hill tonight
- 2:32:48Speaker 14: for Philly, his name, Christopher Sanchez. He comes in here
- 2:32:53Speaker 14: having pitched 29 and two-thirds consecutive scoreless innings. 6'6, 202, 29.
- 2:33:03Speaker 14: Mid-90s sinker, slider change. Aniel Martinez leads off tonight's first pitch.
- 2:33:08Speaker 14: Up high, ball one. Underway in Philadelphia. 58 degrees, the
- 2:33:16Speaker 14: game time temp. Sanchez from the third base side of
- 2:33:22Speaker 14: the rubber delivers, and it's inside corner, a delayed call,
- 2:33:28Speaker 14: and it evens the count at one ball and one strike.
- 2:33:35Speaker 14: Christopher Sanchez. The wind-in pitch to Martinez, and he foul
- 2:33:43Speaker 14: tips it into the catcher's mitt. One ball, two strikes.
- 2:33:47Speaker 14: Angel Martinez batting. 256, nine homers, 26 RBIs. Cleveland with
- 2:33:54Speaker 14: a lineup tonight that has six right-handed bats in it.
- 2:33:58Speaker 14: The pitch, swing, and a miss. Got him to chase
- 2:34:02Speaker 14: down and in. And Sanchez with a strikeout on a
- 2:34:06Speaker 14: changeup to start tonight's ballgame. And his changeup, about as
- 2:34:11Speaker 14: good as any changeup in the game. He throws his
- 2:34:16Speaker 14: changeup 38% of the time, and teams are batting 148
- 2:34:20Speaker 14: off that changeup. Jose Ramirez in the two-hole. He'll bat right-handed.
- 2:34:29Speaker 14: The wind-end pitch, and it's swung on, drilled to left field.
- 2:34:33Speaker 14: Marsh reaches up, makes the catch just before he got
- 2:34:36Speaker 14: to the track. Hard hit, but out number two. Brandon
- 2:34:40Speaker 14: Marsh is in left. Justin Crawford's in center. and Adolis
- 2:34:46Speaker 14: Garcia in right. On the dirt, Bryce Harper at first,
- 2:34:50Speaker 14: Bryson Stott at second, Trey Turner at short, Alec Bohm
- 2:34:55Speaker 14: at third, and JT Riamuto the catcher. Nice hand for
- 2:35:00Speaker 14: the longtime Philadelphia Philly. Reese Hoskins stepping in. Two outs,
- 2:35:04Speaker 14: no score, first inning, and he checks on a pitch
- 2:35:08Speaker 14: down and in, and he went around on the appeal,
- 2:35:11Speaker 14: chased the slider. Reese Hoskins spent six years here in Philadelphia,
- 2:35:21Speaker 14: had some of his best years. He takes outside a ball,
- 2:35:26Speaker 14: another changeup, and that'll even the count at 1-1. This
- 2:35:30Speaker 14: is about as good a hitter's park as there is
- 2:35:33Speaker 14: in the game, but tonight, cold, rainy, 58 degrees, bit
- 2:35:37Speaker 14: of a breeze from the right field to left field corner.
- 2:35:41Speaker 14: The next pitch, waved at, and the count now. Quickly
- 2:35:45Speaker 14: goes to a ball and two strikes. Sanchez comes in
- 2:35:52Speaker 14: a record of 5-2. Best ERA in the National League, 182.
- 2:35:58Speaker 14: Now the kick and the 1-2 pitch. Swing and a miss.
- 2:36:02Speaker 14: Struck him out on a changeup. And so he's now
- 2:36:05Speaker 14: gone 30 and two-thirds consecutive innings without giving up a
- 2:36:10Speaker 14: run as the Guardians go in order and the Phillies
- 2:36:13Speaker 14: come to bat.

- 2:38:08Speaker 14: Gavin Williams on the hill for Cleveland tonight. Trey Turner,
- 2:38:12Speaker 14: the shortstop, leads off. No score. Righty-righty, and the first
- 2:38:16Speaker 14: pitch hit high in the air. Fairly deep right center.
- 2:38:20Speaker 14: Called for by P.D. Helpen as he gets to the
- 2:38:22Speaker 14: warning track. Trey Turner came in batting 239, one pitch,
- 2:38:28Speaker 14: one out. That's right, Petey helping. He's in center field tonight,
- 2:38:33Speaker 14: flanked by Stephen Kwan and left it. Angel Martinez is
- 2:38:38Speaker 14: in right. Reese Hoskins, he's at first. Travis Pazana at second.
- 2:38:45Speaker 14: Brian Rocchio at short. Jose Ramirez at third. Austin Hedges catching.
- 2:38:49Speaker 14: Here's Kyle Schwarber back in the lineup. The DH takes
- 2:38:54Speaker 14: a heater strike. Gavin Williams, 6'6, 250, 26 years of age,
- 2:39:00Speaker 14: mid to upper 90s, fastball sinker cutter, plus the curve
- 2:39:04Speaker 14: and slider. The wind and the pitch to Schwarber, and
- 2:39:09Speaker 14: it moves his back foot down and in one and one.
- 2:39:13Speaker 14: Schwarber had a stomach bug, knocked him out of the
- 2:39:16Speaker 14: Phillies lineup for three games. They had yesterday off, but
- 2:39:21Speaker 14: he missed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. What a start for the
- 2:39:26Speaker 14: Ohio native. The pitch. And he cuts and misses. That
- 2:39:31Speaker 14: was a good looking breaking ball. One and two to count.
- 2:39:36Speaker 14: Schwarber with nine home runs recently in an eight-game stretch.
- 2:39:44Speaker 14: Now the one-two. Down low, two and two. You know
- 2:39:48Speaker 14: who else did that? Albert Bell. Back when he should
- 2:39:52Speaker 14: have been the American League MVP in 1995. Nine homers
- 2:39:57Speaker 14: in an eight-game stretch. The two-two. And strike three called.
- 2:40:04Speaker 14: Got him looking at a slider. Schwarber with a slow
- 2:40:08Speaker 14: walk back to the first base dugout. And that is
- 2:40:13Speaker 14: out number two. That'll bring up Bryce Harper. He has
- 2:40:16Speaker 14: started to heat up, batting. 267, a dozen homers, 31 RBIs.
- 2:40:23Speaker 14: Gavin Williams leads the American League and wins with six.
- 2:40:27Speaker 14: He is fourth in strikeouts. Coming in a 6-3 mark,
- 2:40:33Speaker 14: an ERA of. 367. Now the wind and the pitch.
- 2:40:39Speaker 14: And it's swung on, fouled upstairs. Strike one. Williams in
- 2:40:44Speaker 14: 10 starts, no complete games, but 6 innings to start.
- 2:40:49Speaker 14: He averages 11 strikeouts, 3 walks per 9 innings. Now
- 2:40:55Speaker 14: the kick in the 0-1. A swing and a ground
- 2:40:59Speaker 14: ball toward first by the diving Hoskins. Into foul ground
- 2:41:03Speaker 14: off that sidewall it kicks. And a double for Bryce Harper,
- 2:41:07Speaker 14: his 10th. He didn't hit it that hard, but he...
- 2:41:10Speaker 14: Placed it perfectly down that first baseline. So he has
- 2:41:15Speaker 14: the two-out double here in the first. Alec Boehm coming
- 2:41:19Speaker 14: to the plate. Boy, is he on a roll. Alec
- 2:41:25Speaker 14: Boehm is a right-handed hitting third baseman. Alec Boehm, the
- 2:41:34Speaker 14: first 35 games of the year, batted 159 yards. With
- 2:41:39Speaker 14: a home run and a 4.33 OPS. For 35 games.
- 2:41:45Speaker 14: The pitch. And it's in there. Now, Alec Baum, in
- 2:41:51Speaker 14: the last 11 games, batting 4.05. Four homers, eight extra
- 2:41:58Speaker 14: base hits. Oh yeah, and an OPS of over 1,200.
- 2:42:02Speaker 14: The pitch. Outside a ball, one and one. This lineup
- 2:42:10Speaker 14: can thump. Now, they got off to a terrible start,
- 2:42:14Speaker 14: and it cost Rob Thompson his job as manager. Don
- 2:42:17Speaker 14: Mattingly is the interim manager for the rest of this season.
- 2:42:24Speaker 14: No score, runner at second, two down in the first.
- 2:42:27Speaker 14: Williams pitch, outside, corner, strike, and they count one and two.
- 2:42:35Speaker 14: But the Phillies were 9-19, and that's when Dave Dombrowski
- 2:42:40Speaker 14: fired Rob Thompson. Under Don Mattingly, the club 16-6. Now
- 2:42:48Speaker 14: the 1-2. Checked on a breaking ball away. 2-2, that's
- 2:42:53Speaker 14: that hard slider. Philly at one point in April lost
- 2:42:58Speaker 14: 10 in a row. It's just hard to fathom a
- 2:43:02Speaker 14: club this good. could lose 10 in a row now
- 2:43:07Speaker 14: the 2-2 and it missed down low threw him another
- 2:43:12Speaker 14: curveball won't count the thing you have to be careful
- 2:43:17Speaker 14: of here is you don't nibble and get too careful
- 2:43:22Speaker 14: or you can really play into their hands When you've
- 2:43:28Speaker 14: got rust to bust, use PB Blaster, Cleveland original since 1957.
- 2:43:33Speaker 14: PB Blaster, work it like a pro. A look back
- 2:43:37Speaker 14: at second.
- 2:43:39Speaker 1: The payoff.
- 2:43:40Speaker 14: Swing and a miss. Gavin Williams strikes out a pair
- 2:43:44Speaker 14: after one in the city of brotherly love. We are
- 2:43:48Speaker 14: scoreless on the Cleveland Clinic Radio Network.
- 2:43:59Speaker 3: News Radio 570 WKBN, Youngstown.
- 2:44:08Speaker 14: David Frye DH-ing hitting cleanup tonight. An 0-for-13 slide leads
- 2:44:13Speaker 14: off the second no score. The left-hander Christopher Sanchez delivers.
- 2:44:19Speaker 14: And it's inside corner strike. Sanchez was the runner-up to
- 2:44:24Speaker 14: Paul Skeens last year for the National League Cy Young Awards.
- 2:44:29Speaker 14: In fact, he got every second-place vote. Now the 0-1.
- 2:44:37Speaker 14: Swung and ripped into left. There's a base hit. David
- 2:44:40Speaker 14: Fry breaks that 0 for 13. That'll bring up Travis Bazzana.
- 2:44:46Speaker 14: Left on left. Now, if you're wondering about lefties against
- 2:44:51Speaker 14: the lefty, Sanchez has a 145 batting average against him
- 2:44:59Speaker 14: when he faces a left-handed hitter. In other words, good luck.
- 2:45:04Speaker 14: No score, second inning. The set, the pitch, and upon attempt,
- 2:45:11Speaker 14: missed strike one. Travis Pazana batting 288, a couple of homers,
- 2:45:17Speaker 14: nine RBIs, a 409 on-base percentage. First four innings, it's
- 2:45:25Speaker 14: the Conrad score for win four new tires. Contestant tonight,
- 2:45:30Speaker 14: Dana Gaudio of Highland Heights. Now the 0-1. Lozano waves
- 2:45:38Speaker 14: at the slider, 0-2. So Dana Gaudio trying to win
- 2:45:44Speaker 14: the four Bridgestone tires thanks to Conrad's Tire Express and
- 2:45:47Speaker 14: Total Car Care. Visit econrads.com to enter. Not a great
- 2:45:53Speaker 14: night to try to win tires against this guy. Now
- 2:45:58Speaker 14: the 0-2 from Sanchez to Bozana. Down and away, yanked
- 2:46:03Speaker 14: the slider, one ball, two strikes. A 5-2 record, a
- 2:46:08Speaker 14: 182 ERA, 11 strikeouts, two walks per nine, and coming
- 2:46:16Speaker 14: off a complete game shutout five days ago in Pittsburgh.
- 2:46:21Speaker 1: The pitch.
- 2:46:22Speaker 14: Swung on a chopper to first. Harper in on the grass.
- 2:46:25Speaker 14: Goes to second.
- 2:46:26Speaker 22: One.
- 2:46:26Speaker 14: That's all they'll get. So David Fry forced out. Lozano
- 2:46:32Speaker 14: with seven steals. Caught one time. Is on at first.
- 2:46:36Speaker 14: One down. Second inning. No score. Boy, his shutout five
- 2:46:46Speaker 14: days ago against Pittsburgh was magnificent.
- 2:46:50Speaker 1: One.
- 2:46:50Speaker 14: He only made 108 pitches in the complete game. Six-hit shutout.
- 2:46:56Speaker 14: Struck out 13 and didn't walk a batter. Now the
- 2:47:02Speaker 14: pitch to Brian Rocchio, batting right-handed. Leans him back for
- 2:47:05Speaker 14: ball one. Switch hitting shortstop. Moved up from ninth to
- 2:47:10Speaker 14: sixth because Petey Halpin's in the lineup tonight. He'll bat ninth.
- 2:47:17Speaker 14: De Lauder, Schneeman, Manzardo, Bailey. getting the night off, at
- 2:47:21Speaker 14: least at the outset. Toss over to first and back
- 2:47:25Speaker 14: standing easily is Bozzana. Normally when Tampa Bay calls you
- 2:47:32Speaker 14: and says, hey, we'd like to trade you a pitcher,
- 2:47:35Speaker 14: you immediately hang up. Thankfully for Philly, they did not.
- 2:47:43Speaker 14: The pitch. And it's in there to even the count. Look,
- 2:47:48Speaker 14: Tampa Bay knows as much about pitching as any organization
- 2:47:51Speaker 14: in the game. So if they want to trade a pitcher,
- 2:47:53Speaker 14: you go, hmm, what's wrong with them? They traded this
- 2:47:57Speaker 14: guy to Philly for Curtis Meade. Great trade for Philly.
- 2:48:05Speaker 14: Hazana dancing off first. The pitch down low, two and one.
- 2:48:09Speaker 14: I mean, you can't make a better trade than that one.
- 2:48:15Speaker 14: And that happened in November of 2019. This is the
- 2:48:21Speaker 14: seventh year for Christopher Sanchez here in Philly. The pitch
- 2:48:27Speaker 14: down low. And you wonder, is Pazanas dancing off the bag,
- 2:48:32Speaker 14: distracting Christopher Sanchez? Because now he's 3-1. On the batter,
- 2:48:39Speaker 14: Brian Rocchio, and Sanchez averages less than two walks per
- 2:48:44Speaker 14: nine innings. Outfield, medium deep, pretty much straight away. Now
- 2:48:50Speaker 14: the pitch. Outside, corner, a strike as Rocchio started to
- 2:48:56Speaker 14: toss the bat. Cleveland in the third base dugout, Philly
- 2:49:00Speaker 14: in the first. Full count now. Let's see if Pazana
- 2:49:04Speaker 14: is running. J.T. Riomuto, one of the better throwing catchers
- 2:49:09Speaker 14: in the game, but this year not as good. 23%
- 2:49:12Speaker 14: have been caught stealing when he throws. Now the payoff.
- 2:49:23Speaker 14: Pazana stays. Rocio swings through it. Strikeout number three for Sanchez.
- 2:49:30Speaker 14: Two down. That'll bring up Stephen Kwan. Stephen Kwan, since
- 2:49:38Speaker 14: he vacated the leadoff spot in the six games since then,
- 2:49:45Speaker 14: he's had a 480 on-base percentage. Three hits, nine walks.
- 2:49:52Speaker 14: All six games, Cleveland won. Toss to first. Bozana about
- 2:49:57Speaker 14: a step off the bag. Two down, Bozzana at first,
- 2:50:01Speaker 14: no score second inning. It's been raining since the game
- 2:50:04Speaker 14: began here in Philadelphia. A light rain, but a bone-chilling rain,
- 2:50:09Speaker 14: 58 degrees and breezy. The pitch, Kwon looks, takes a strike.
- 2:50:18Speaker 14: Stephen Kwon's played in nine games against Philly. In those
- 2:50:22Speaker 14: nine games, he's hit two home runs and batted 371.
- 2:50:29Speaker 14: Tough assignment right now. Left on left against Sanchez. The
- 2:50:33Speaker 14: next pitch. Waved at the slider. Looked like he tried
- 2:50:37Speaker 14: to hammer that one. Maybe to the Delaware River. 0-2
- 2:50:41Speaker 14: the count. Christopher Sanchez. Long and lanky. Hands belt high. Sets. Delivers,
- 2:50:57Speaker 14: runner goes, pitch swung on, fouled out of play. Second deck,
- 2:51:01Speaker 14: third base side. Well, this is a case here with
- 2:51:04Speaker 14: two strengths on Kwon. Even if Pazana gets thrown out,
- 2:51:10Speaker 14: then you've got Kwon leading off the third. No score,
- 2:51:14Speaker 14: we're in the second. Sanchez has faced Cleveland one other
- 2:51:21Speaker 14: time two years ago. Cleveland beat them, scored three in
- 2:51:24Speaker 14: six innings. The pitch. Swing and a little weak topper
- 2:51:28Speaker 14: to the grass area at first. Harper just did beat
- 2:51:32Speaker 14: Kwon to the bag. That was close. We go to
- 2:51:35Speaker 14: the bottom of the second. No score at Citizens Bank
- 2:51:38Speaker 14: Park on the Cleveland Clinic Radio Network.

- 2:53:38Speaker 14: Up to the best start of his career, left fielder
- 2:53:40Speaker 14: Brandon Marsh, a left-handed hitter facing Gavin Williams. Bottom of
- 2:53:45Speaker 14: the second, no score from Philly. Marsh, third in the
- 2:53:48Speaker 14: National League with a. 325 batting mark. Four homers, 22 RBIs.
- 2:53:54Speaker 14: The wind and pitch from Gavin Williams. And it's swung
- 2:53:58Speaker 14: on and missed. Strike one. When the Guardians win, your
- 2:54:02Speaker 14: Northeast Ohio Ford dealers donate $ 500 to Cleveland Guardians charities
- 2:54:08Speaker 14: for youth sports in Cleveland. The pitch. A swing and
- 2:54:14Speaker 14: a foul at the plate.
- 2:54:15Speaker 17: 0-2.
- 2:54:15Speaker 14: Gavin Williams scores. His last outing. Five days ago against
- 2:54:27Speaker 14: the Reds. Went six innings. Gave up two runs to
- 2:54:30Speaker 14: get the win. Struck out seven. Didn't walk anybody. Off
- 2:54:36Speaker 14: to a tremendous start.
- 2:54:38Speaker 1: The pitch.
- 2:54:39Speaker 14: Up high. One ball, two strikes. Gavin Williams now has
- 2:54:47Speaker 14: gone six innings or more in six straight Starts. The 1-2.
- 2:54:56Speaker 14: Swing and a miss. Got him to chase that backdoor slider.
- 2:55:01Speaker 14: Third strikeout for Williams. Marsh out number one. Here's Adolis Garcia.
- 2:55:08Speaker 14: Saw a lot of him with Texas. The last Cleveland
- 2:55:12Speaker 14: pitcher to go seven straight starts of six innings or more.
- 2:55:20Speaker 14: Go back to Cy Young winner Shane Beaver four years ago.
- 2:55:24Speaker 14: The pitch outside and low a ball. And Cleveland got
- 2:55:29Speaker 14: really good starting pitching in Motown. So while the bullpen
- 2:55:34Speaker 14: was still used, the length of starters are now going
- 2:55:40Speaker 14: really helping out. That pitch is right on the inside edge. Boy,
- 2:55:44Speaker 14: he is pounding the corners in the upper 90s. It
- 2:55:49Speaker 14: was a 97-mile-an-hour sinker. No score. The kick and delivery.
- 2:55:57Speaker 14: Swing and a foul down the right side. One and
- 2:56:00Speaker 14: two to count. Gavin Williams has not pitched nearly as
- 2:56:06Speaker 14: well on the road. ERA of two and a half
- 2:56:09Speaker 14: at home and just about five on the road. Well, boy,
- 2:56:13Speaker 14: he looks dominant early here tonight. Now the one-twos. Swung on,
- 2:56:19Speaker 14: a weak bouncing ball to third. Ramirez charges, gloves from
- 2:56:22Speaker 14: the grass, couldn't get anything on the throw. Kind of
- 2:56:25Speaker 14: squirted out of his hands. Might be because it's a
- 2:56:28Speaker 14: wet ball with the rain. You hit it in on
- 2:56:31Speaker 14: the grass, that'll be an infield hit for Garcia. That'll
- 2:56:38Speaker 14: bring up Bryson Stott. Left-handed hitting, second baseman. Bryson Stott hitting. 229,
- 2:56:49Speaker 14: five homers, 23 RBIs. Oh, they're not giving Garcia a single.
- 2:56:55Speaker 14: They're charging Ramirez with an error. I don't know if
- 2:56:58Speaker 14: he gets him even if the ball hadn't squirted out
- 2:57:01Speaker 14: of his hands. The pitch, swung on, ripped. Fairly deep right,
- 2:57:06Speaker 14: but right there's Martinez to snag it.
- 2:57:09Speaker 1: That is outstanding.
- 2:57:10Speaker 14: Number two. So, two down. Runner at first, and the catcher,
- 2:57:23Speaker 14: JT Riomuto, off to a slow start. Riomuto, right-handed batter, hitting.
- 2:57:30Speaker 14: 212 with a homer, eight RBIs. Two down, runner at first,
- 2:57:36Speaker 14: no score, second inning from Philadelphia. The set and delivery,
- 2:57:42Speaker 14: a swing and a high, chopper to short, chest high
- 2:57:45Speaker 14: hop handled by Rocchio, flips to second for the inning
- 2:57:48Speaker 14: ending force, and Gavin Williams looks as good tonight as
- 2:57:52Speaker 14: he has all year, and he's been good all year.
- 2:57:56Speaker 14: No score after two.
