- 0:10Charles: Breaking news tonight as a man accused
- 0:13Charles: of faking threatening texts to shut down
- 0:16Charles: a Rocky Horror production in Virginia.
- 0:19Nora: In Vermont.
- 0:20Charles: Vermont, the other V state.
- 0:22Charles: There too.
- 0:23Charles: More about this after the intro.
- 0:27Charles: (drill whirring)
- 1:15Charles: Have you guys ever had a moment?
- 1:17Charles: (laughing)
- 1:18Charles: There's two different directions I can head in this.
- 1:22Charles: First off, hi everybody and welcome.
- 1:25Charles: I am your humblest of hosts, Charles Joseph Kelly,
- 1:29Charles: and with me, as always, we've got the hostess,
- 1:32Charles: with a mostest from Costas and Costas.
- 1:34Charles: We've got Nora.
- 1:35Nora: That's me, hi.
- 1:37Charles: Hi Nora.
- 1:37Charles: On the ones and twos, we got twos of them
- 1:40Charles: in the backs of the rooms today.
- 1:42Mandy: Hi!
- 1:43Charles: Are you having a stroke?
- 1:45Mandy: I'm here!
- 1:46Mandy: Hi!
- 1:47Mandy: You did it!
- 1:47Mandy: Oh my god, it's little Chris!
- 1:50Mandy: Little Chris is back, hi everybody!
- 1:53Mandy: I'm just a little guy.
- 1:55Mandy: He's just a little guy!
- 1:56Charles: And it's his first day.
- 1:59Charles: So have you guys ever done this show
- 2:02Charles: and just decided 15 minutes before
- 2:04Charles: that you didn't want to do the show.
- 2:05Mandy: Today, today.
- 2:07Mandy: I don't want to be here.
- 2:08Mandy: (laughing)
- 2:09Charles: That's the spirit.
- 2:10Charles: Did you ever think about sending yourself
- 2:13Charles: fake threatening texts to get out of Vibe Check?
- 2:16Mandy: I considered it.
- 2:19Mandy: (laughing)
- 2:22Charles: Nora sent this to me minutes before we went live.
- 2:27Charles: It's true.
- 2:28Charles: Minutes before.
- 2:28Charles: I was like, there's not enough time,
- 2:30Charles: Like there always is time.
- 2:32Charles: We need to talk about this.
- 2:34Charles: So-
- 2:34Chris: Mandy loves nothing more than putting new things
- 2:37Chris: in the rundown at the last second.
- 2:39Chris: Yeah.
- 2:39Charles: So, a Vermont man is accused of faking
- 2:45Charles: threatening text messages to get out of a musical production
- 2:48Charles: of Rocky Horror Picture Show.
- 2:51Charles: The police said-- - Hi!
- 2:53Charles: The police said that in April,
- 2:56Charles: Kenneth Grenier of 26th of Hyde Park
- 2:58Charles: reported getting harassing texts targeting his production
- 3:01Charles: of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
- 3:04Nora: They had to cancel it.
- 3:05Charles: They had to cancel it
- 3:06Charles: because he was getting threatening texts about it.
- 3:09Nora: Okay.
- 3:10Nora: He sent those to himself.
- 3:12Charles: He sent the texts to himself
- 3:15Charles: and he admitted to faking the texts almost immediately.
- 3:19Mandy: Okay, but why?
- 3:20Mandy: I need to know the why.
- 3:22Charles: Well, first off, we need to dive into this.
- 3:26Charles: Let's get into the mind of a serial killer.
- 3:31Charles: (laughing)
- 3:31Charles: 'Cause I don't think there's much difference
- 3:33Charles: between this kind of behavior
- 3:35Charles: and those who murder others for fun.
- 3:37Nora: (laughing)
- 3:39Nora: Pierre, should we shut down musical theater productions?
- 3:42Charles: First off, I want you to picture
- 3:44Charles: what role this person was playing.
- 3:46Charles: 'Cause I know, nobody else here knows.
- 3:49Charles: I was thinking-- - Frankfurter?
- 3:51Charles: Was it?
- 3:52Charles: Frankfurter, okay, we got a Frankfurter.
- 3:54Charles: I'm gonna say Riffraff.
- 3:56Nora: Riff raff?
- 3:56Charles: You think he was the director.
- 3:59Charles: Musical director.
- 4:00Charles: Oh my god.
- 4:01Nora: He's in judgement and he doesn't want to do it.
- 4:03Charles: He's like, I don't want to fucking play piano anymore.
- 4:06Charles: I cannot do this.
- 4:08Charles: Oh my god.
- 4:08Mandy: It's canceled.
- 4:10Mandy: So like if you've ever done musical theater
- 4:12Mandy: or theater of any kind, like the week before the show,
- 4:15Mandy: the director always kind of loses it
- 4:17Mandy: and is like, we're gonna cancel the whole show.
- 4:19Mandy: This is awful.
- 4:20Chris: As someone who's directed theatrical productions,
- 4:23Chris: yes, that is exactly what happens.
- 4:25Nora: Always, always.
- 4:26Nora: And he took it, he just started texting himself
- 4:29Nora: threats though, so he actually followed through.
- 4:31Charles: What do you think those threats were?
- 4:33Charles: Was it like, was he being-
- 4:36Mandy: Homophobic in nature?
- 4:37Charles: Homophobic to himself?
- 4:38Mandy: Yeah.
- 4:39Charles: Well, I'm not, it's kinda like-
- 4:40Nora: No, maybe, I don't know.
- 4:42Nora: Let's see, maybe he was, yeah, maybe it was homophobia.
- 4:45Nora: It had to have been homophobia.
- 4:47Chris: Maybe it said something like,
- 4:48Chris: if the musical director, and only the musical director
- 4:52Chris: does this show, I will plant an explosive in the theater.
- 4:58Charles: It sounds like a bomb threat or something.
- 5:01Charles: Chris, I like your shirt.
- 5:02Chris: Thank you, thank you.
- 5:03Charles: It is very open source Mickey Mouse.
- 5:08Chris: Yeah, I only wear it now because Mickey Mouse
- 5:11Chris: has entered the public domain,
- 5:12Chris: but only this particular version of Mickey Mouse.
- 5:15Chris: Yeah, it's true.
- 5:17Charles: The other thing that I wanted to talk about
- 5:19Charles: was before we went live, we went live 10 minutes
- 5:22Charles: before the show started, and we had that countdown always,
- 5:25Charles: as if you're watching the show,
- 5:26Charles: you probably are familiar with the countdown.
- 5:29Charles: It was 10 minutes.
- 5:31Charles: We told Nora to shut the fuck up.
- 5:36Charles: (laughing)
- 5:36Charles: Because she couldn't stop yapping.
- 5:38Mandy: How did that work?
- 5:39Charles: How did that work for the 10 minutes?
- 5:41Mandy: It didn't.
- 5:42Mandy: Three minutes.
- 5:44Charles: Three minutes into it?
- 5:46Charles: No, it was about five minutes into it.
- 5:48Charles: It was about five minutes into it.
- 5:49Charles: Nora goes, I can't do this.
- 5:52Charles: I can't not-- yeah.
- 5:55Nora: I can't not do this.
- 5:57Mandy: This is so hard.
- 5:58Charles: It's so hard not to talk at all times.
- 6:00Nora: I think I actually made it to about three minutes left.
- 6:04Charles: Yeah.
- 6:05Mandy: Wait, so you made it to seven minutes then, actually.
- 6:07Nora: I did not, yeah, for about seven minutes.
- 6:10Chris: I'm so proud of you.
- 6:11Chris: I think if we had taken a bet on this,
- 6:14Chris: I think you would have beat the spread.
- 6:16Nora: Yeah.
- 6:18Mandy: She's real competitive.
- 6:20Mandy: I'm gonna win.
- 6:21Mandy: I'm gonna win.
- 6:22Charles: So if I was to get out of vibe check,
- 6:26Charles: I would use explosive diarrhea.
- 6:28Charles: (laughing)
- 6:30Mandy: Wait, wait, wait.
- 6:33Mandy: Everything is called into question now.
- 6:36Chris: Considering you have used that exact excuse before
- 6:40Chris: to not do the show, you just can't be trusted anymore.
- 6:43Charles: No, okay.
- 6:44Charles: Okay, wait, wait, wait.
- 6:45Charles: I would tell you guys that I'm not feeling it.
- 6:48Charles: I don't have the energy to do the show.
- 6:51Charles: In the moments that I've used on this show,
- 6:53Charles: I have used explosive diarrhea as an, not an excuse,
- 6:57Charles: it's a real thing.
- 6:58Charles: I've always been truthful to the situation
- 7:03Charles: and it would have been a bad situation
- 7:05Charles: for everybody involved.
- 7:05Mandy: I would just like to point out
- 7:07Mandy: that all the hot girlies have stomach issues.
- 7:10Mandy: It's true.
- 7:12Mandy: So when Charles was ill and was like,
- 7:15Mandy: "Hey, I eat food and then time it and it's out of my body within 30 minutes."
- 7:19Mandy: I was like, "Yeah, that's normal, right?"
- 7:20Mandy: [laughter]
- 7:21Mandy: That's all of us, right?
- 7:23Mandy: That's the reg!
- 7:24Charles: I know about that.
- 7:25Mandy: I mean, that's how you know you're hot.
- 7:28Mandy: [laughter]
- 7:30Charles: IBS stands for "I'm Beautiful, Slut."
- 7:32Charles: [laughter]
- 7:34Charles: Yes.
- 7:35Charles: Yes.
- 7:36Charles: Yes.
- 7:37Charles: Yes.
- 7:38Charles: Yes.
- 7:39Nora: Okay, so did you find what the threats were that he made?
- 7:43Charles: I haven't found out what the threats are,
- 7:45Charles: but we need to dive into this further.
- 7:48Charles: (laughing)
- 7:48Nora: We're gonna follow this story.
- 7:50Nora: (laughing)
- 7:51Nora: Get into the Discord chats of all the stories here
- 7:55Nora: from Vermont and all the local newspapers.
- 7:58Charles: Do you know this person?
- 7:59Charles: I don't.
- 8:01Nora: (laughing)
- 8:01Charles: But they could have gone to my college
- 8:03Charles: and I could have gone there at the same time.
- 8:05Charles: Is it from like your town?
- 8:06Nora: Well, I went, it's like one town over, yeah.
- 8:09Charles: Okay.
- 8:09Nora: It's the greater Burlington area
- 8:12Nora: And yes, it's nearby.
- 8:14Charles: The greater Burlington area.
- 8:16Nora: Yeah.
- 8:16Chris: Is that where Burlington Coat Factory is?
- 8:20Nora: No.
- 8:21Chris: Oh, okay.
- 8:21Nora: I think that's Burlington, Texas, actually.
- 8:24Chris: Shit.
- 8:25Nora: Yeah.
- 8:25Chris: I'm sorry, Chris.
- 8:27Chris: (laughing)
- 8:28Charles: That's why I'm just a little guy over here.
- 8:31Charles: He's asking the important questions
- 8:33Charles: about the origins of Burlington Coat Factory.
- 8:36Charles: We've all been there.
- 8:36Charles: Right, yeah.
- 8:38Charles: It's the journalist in me.
- 8:39Charles: I have to get to the bottom of things.
- 8:41Charles: How the hell has everybody been doing this week?
- 8:44Charles: Really good.
- 8:46Chris: My back really hurts.
- 8:49Chris: I jammed my back into the handrail
- 8:55Chris: of the stairs in my basement
- 8:58Chris: and I'm really glad I'm sitting in this wobbly chair
- 9:01Chris: for the next two hours.
- 9:02Mandy: Did you go to the doctor?
- 9:05Mandy: What's that?
- 9:07Mandy: Did you go to the doctor?
- 9:09Mandy: I'm just a little guy, I can't do the doctor.
- 9:12Charles: Little guy doctors are hard to find nowadays.
- 9:16Chris: Yeah, the little guy HMO,
- 9:19Chris: you have to schedule out months in advance.
- 9:20Chris: It's a real pain in the ass.
- 9:22Charles: And a pain in the back, too.
- 9:23Chris: It's a pain in the back.
- 9:24Mandy: A very, very small.
- 9:27Mandy: How did this happen?
- 9:28Chris: How did this happen, Chris?
- 9:30Chris: I was migrating one of the cat litter robots
- 9:35Chris: from one floor to another,
- 9:36Chris: and apparently lacked spatial awareness in the moment
- 9:41Chris: and just backed straight into the banister
- 9:43Chris: and thought, okay, well that's really gonna hurt tomorrow.
- 9:46Chris: And that was four days ago.
- 9:48Charles: Oh no.
- 9:51Mandy: Maybe, maybe it's time to go to the doctor.
- 9:52Charles: Maybe it's time.
- 9:54Charles: Hey Chris, if we're here this next week
- 9:56Charles: and you're still in pain, we're bringing,
- 9:59Charles: as a bit for the show,
- 10:01Charles: We're gonna need urgent care.
- 10:02Charles: We're gonna live stream you going to the doctor.
- 10:05Chris: I will live stream going to urgent care.
- 10:07Chris: Yeah, that sounds good.
- 10:09Chris: Yeah.
- 10:10Mandy: You heard it, you heard it.
- 10:11Mandy: There were promises made.
- 10:12Chris: We're not violating HIPAA
- 10:14Mandy: because we're part of your party.
- 10:16Chris: Yeah, and I disclosed it myself, so it's okay.
- 10:18Charles: How do you feel about chiropractors
- 10:20Charles: if it's like a dislocated thing in your back?
- 10:23Charles: How do you feel about chiropractors?
- 10:24Chris: I've been to a chiropractor a handful of times
- 10:28Chris: and I think for legitimate back and neck pain,
- 10:30Chris: it can be helpful,
- 10:32Chris: But I think that's about where the legitimacy stops.
- 10:36Charles: Do you guys know the story of how a chiropractor came to be?
- 10:40Charles: Where it's at, where chiropractic came from?
- 10:43Chris: Did it come from Burlington, Texas?
- 10:46Nora: A ghost told the original chiropractor.
- 10:49Charles: Yes.
- 10:49Charles: No.
- 10:50Charles: Okay.
- 10:51Charles: You, you were saying a location.
- 10:52Charles: Where did you, where were you going to say, Mandy?
- 10:54Mandy: I didn't say location.
- 10:55Mandy: I was saying, uh, somebody failed their medical exams and that was the best they
- 10:59Charles: could do.
- 11:01Charles: a man was talking to a ghost and learned the secrets of chiropractic in canada is this mormonism
- 11:10Mandy: i think this is the lds right it feels it feels a little it feels a little lds is it not is it not
- 11:17Nora: i mean i think i think it might be it's not not lds oh sorry palmyra new york sorry next next
- 11:24Charles: week can we please like can does somebody want to go and look through chiropractic videos on tiktok
- 11:29Mandy: I don't want to subject him to that.
- 11:32Mandy: They do ones on babies, and I'm like,
- 11:34Mandy: how is this legal?
- 11:35Mandy: Like, this is-
- 11:36Charles: Or animals?
- 11:38Charles: Have you seen the ones on animals?
- 11:39Charles: I feel so bad for the animals.
- 11:41Charles: It's like, there's no way that you are a specialized doctor
- 11:46Charles: enough to understand the bone structure of every animal
- 11:51Charles: and be able to crack their bones.
- 11:53Mandy: Nora, I think you've got it.
- 11:54Mandy: I think we just found what you're going to be doing,
- 11:57Mandy: your new career.
- 11:58Chris: Once I saw an interview with a chiropractor
- 12:01Chris: who with a straight face said that he would do adjustments
- 12:04Chris: on infants, I pretty much lost all respect
- 12:07Chris: for anyone who does that.
- 12:09Mandy: Fair.
- 12:10Charles: I like the ones where they crack the tailbone
- 12:12Charles: but they have to shove their thumb so far up
- 12:14Charles: the person's butt to crack the tailbone.
- 12:17Mandy: But that's what happened to the gymnasts,
- 12:20Mandy: like the USA gymnasts, 'cause they were like,
- 12:22Mandy: oh, I guess this is therapeutic that this is happening
- 12:24Mandy: to me, it was horrible.
- 12:26Mandy: That's awful.
- 12:27Mandy: Sorry to add.
- 12:29Mandy: Hi, I'm Mandy.
- 12:30Mandy: I can bring down the vibe in any room.
- 12:34Mandy: (laughing)
- 12:34Chris: Mandy is the ultimate check on the vibes.
- 12:38Chris: (laughing)
- 12:39Nora: Well, speaking of Mandy,
- 12:42Nora: Yeah.
- 12:42Nora: Mandy and I went, and Lynn,
- 12:45Nora: went, friend of the show Lynn,
- 12:46Nora: went to a yarn crawl this weekend.
- 12:49Nora: So do you guys have any idea what a yarn crawl would be?
- 12:51Charles: It's like a pub crawl,
- 12:55Charles: but with yarn.
- 12:56Nora: Correct. Yeah, so we went to eight different yarn stores in the area from Laramie, Wyoming
- 13:04Nora: all the way down to like Lafayette, Colorado and
- 13:08Nora: went and bought yarn.
- 13:10Mandy: This is the first time I spent a large portion of time with Nora outside of the studio
- 13:15Mandy: And it was eye-opening.
- 13:18Charles: It wasn't fun.
- 13:19Mandy: It was eye-opening.
- 13:22Mandy: I don't know, probably about 16 hours together over the weekend.
- 13:25Mandy: It's been a long time.
- 13:27Chris: What would you say is the most important thing
- 13:29Chris: that you learned about Nora?
- 13:33Mandy: She's so even keeled, it makes me jealous.
- 13:35Chris: (laughing)
- 13:37Chris: Except on this show.
- 13:39Mandy: No, like-
- 13:40Mandy: It used to be worse.
- 13:41Mandy: (laughing)
- 13:43Charles: It's true, you should have seen the episodes
- 13:44Charles: we didn't air.
- 13:45Charles: (laughing)
- 13:48Mandy: No, but like, I don't want anyone talking to me
- 13:50Mandy: for the first two hours.
- 13:51Mandy: Like if it's hot, I get whiny.
- 13:54Mandy: If I'm hungry, I'm just gonna be cranky.
- 13:56Mandy: And I have, apparently I'm just mood swing girl
- 14:00Mandy: 'cause Nora was just even keeled and happy.
- 14:02Mandy: Like, I'm happy to be here, guys.
- 14:03Mandy: This is great.
- 14:04Mandy: And it was just so pleasant.
- 14:06Chris: That's why we bring you here
- 14:07Chris: and put you under hot lights and make you push buttons.
- 14:10Nora: I get cranky.
- 14:12Nora: I like yarn.
- 14:13Nora: I like hanging out with my friends.
- 14:15Nora: I'm a quality time kind of person.
- 14:16Nora: That's my love language.
- 14:17Nora: So if I'm hanging out with people that I like, I'm happy.
- 14:20Nora: Not cranky at all.
- 14:22Mandy: Not a, like, I'm hungry, I need food.
- 14:24Mandy: We were just, yeah.
- 14:27Mandy: I feel like I'm-
- 14:28Mandy: Oh, but look how adorable we are.
- 14:31Mandy: We were really cute.
- 14:32Mandy: We won.
- 14:32Mandy: Aww.
- 14:33Mandy: We got-
- 14:34Mandy: You won?
- 14:34Chris: How did you win the crawl?
- 14:36Mandy: And where was this one at?
- 14:37Chris: Give 'em a shout out.
- 14:38Mandy: Wyoming?
- 14:39Mandy: Oh yeah, so this is Cowgirl Yarns
- 14:41Mandy: in Laramie, Wyoming.
- 14:43Mandy: They were amazing!
- 14:44Nora: Yeah, really great yarns.
- 14:46Nora: Definitely gonna go back up there this next weekend.
- 14:48Nora: So it's called the Hot August Yarn Crawl,
- 14:51Nora: and it was eight different stores,
- 14:53Nora: Once you finish and go to all eight, then you get like a $10 gift certificate
- 14:59Nora: Excuse me. We're all
- 15:02Nora: Drink before this my apologies everyone, but
- 15:06Mandy: Let's see what else did we but here's the thing they get price like you enter drawings and raffles for a prize baskets that
- 15:12Mandy: Are really really quite impressive
- 15:14Nora: Nor got real competitive. I'm just of course she did yeah, I'm going one. It's not over yet
- 15:19Nora: So it's the August 1st through the 9th, so we'll find out on the 10th or 11th like next week when I win
- 15:26Mandy: Okay, so here's the secret after Nora left. I turned to Lynn and I was like, hey, you know, I'm evil, right?
- 15:30Mandy: You missed a little she's like, yeah. Yeah, I know and I was like
- 15:34Mandy: What if we both win and Nora loses?
- 15:38Nora: I might cry but
- 15:40Nora: I would love to see that happen. That would be I mean, I honestly would be like, okay universe. I hear it
- 15:46Charles: I hear you. I want to see
- 15:48Charles: No, I'm serious.
- 15:50Mandy: No, 'cause everybody we met all week long,
- 15:52Mandy: she's like, "I'm gonna win one of the prize baskets.
- 15:54Mandy: "I'm gonna win one of the prize baskets.
- 15:55Mandy: I'm gonna win one.
- 15:55Mandy: I'm putting it out on the internet.
- 15:56Nora: I'm gonna
- 16:18Charles: It would be incredible, I'm sure it would be
- 16:21Charles: because of how even keeled you are as a person,
- 16:24Charles: it would be very like opening for you emotionally.
- 16:29Nora: Well I just don't do that on the show.
- 16:32Charles: (laughing)
- 16:32Mandy: I've been with you for 16 hours
- 16:34Mandy: and it was nothing other than that.
- 16:36Chris: The producer in me says that my response would be,
- 16:40Chris: get the camera.
- 16:42Mandy: (laughing)
- 16:43Mandy: Cry on camera.
- 16:45Mandy: Okay, so here it goes.
- 16:46Mandy: If Lynn and I win, we are not gonna tell Nora
- 16:49Mandy: until we can get some footage from somebody.
- 16:51Charles: I think that's absolutely appropriate.
- 16:53Charles: I think that is-- - We need to do it
- 16:54Charles: like kids opening up their letters from colleges.
- 16:59Charles: Oh!
- 17:00Charles: To see if they-- - Yes!
- 17:03Nora: Yes. - That's a good plan.
- 17:04Charles: Can we do it that way?
- 17:05Mandy: I don't know how the announcement is gonna be done.
- 17:08Mandy: So, as somebody who's won one of the store ones before,
- 17:10Mandy: they contact you through email.
- 17:13Mandy: So it's a little-- - Okay.
- 17:14Nora: So if we get an email from any of the yarn stores,
- 17:17Nora: start filming.
- 17:19Mandy: I mean, well, I mean, I've gotten about like six
- 17:22Mandy: from like newsletters, and here's a coupon code, so.
- 17:25Charles: Right. - Yeah, true.
- 17:26Nora: Yeah, you can't really-- - That's true.
- 17:27Charles: That's fine.
- 17:28Nora: Well, I'll keep an eye out. - Fake it.
- 17:29Nora: And if, no, if I do see anything related to prizes,
- 17:34Nora: I will open my email and film myself,
- 17:37Nora: because I do get really excited when I win.
- 17:40Nora: I like winning. - Yeah.
- 17:41Nora: And according to Nora, she always wins.
- 17:45Nora: No, I said I always win raffles at Rock Hound raffles.
- 17:52Nora: Okay, that's true.
- 17:53Nora: When it's a Rock Hound themed event
- 17:55Nora: where you're all nervous about Rock Hound.
- 17:57Chris: Yeah, what the heck is Rock Hound?
- 17:59Nora: It's people who really like rocks,
- 18:02Nora: and they go around and they'll trade and sell rocks,
- 18:04Nora: and then make things out of them,
- 18:06Nora: and they'll do like a raffle to raise money
- 18:08Nora: for the club that puts it on,
- 18:10Nora: And any time I enter a Rock Hound event, I will win.
- 18:13Nora: That's the only time that I win.
- 18:14Nora: So I'm not autistic, I have ADHD.
- 18:17Charles: So I feel like-- - Tomato, potato.
- 18:20Charles: Maybe the reason why you win those Rock Hound things-
- 18:24Nora: Is I'm like the only entry?
- 18:25Charles: Yeah, yeah. (laughing)
- 18:27Nora: There are other entries,
- 18:28Nora: and I've won like three or four of 'em.
- 18:31Nora: But I'm putting it out into the universe
- 18:33Nora: that I'm going to win one of these baskets
- 18:35Nora: because I was very careful about my spending this weekend
- 18:41Nora: so that I can, so that I'm hopeful
- 18:44Nora: that the universe will pay me back.
- 18:47Mandy: Look, I'm bad with numbers.
- 18:49Mandy: I don't pay attention to spending.
- 18:51Mandy: Y'all, it was real bad.
- 18:53Mandy: You did some damage.
- 18:54Mandy: It was real bad.
- 18:55Chris: I believe it.
- 18:57Chris: Also, I love that people who take part in this hobby
- 19:02Chris: have decided to call themselves Rockhounds.
- 19:06Charles: I'm a Rockhound.
- 19:07Nora: Well, they're not geologists.
- 19:08Charles: What's up, you good old Rockhound?
- 19:11Charles: It's like you called an old friend of yours.
- 19:14Nora: We're gonna have to find a Rockhound event near us.
- 19:16Nora: I'll find one.
- 19:17Nora: I think I'm good.
- 19:18Nora: We'll find one.
- 19:19Nora: (laughing)
- 19:21Chris: I've seen rocks, that's enough.
- 19:23Mandy: You wanna go to a rock show, a gem show?
- 19:26Mandy: No, not for you?
- 19:26Mandy: I feel the same way about that
- 19:28Mandy: as I do about a lot of these weird little guys.
- 19:30Mandy: Here, here-
- 19:31Mandy: That's a great transition, oh my god.
- 19:33Charles: Wait, hold on, we'll get there.
- 19:34Charles: We have other things to talk about.
- 19:35Charles: Is it?
- 19:36Charles: Not yet.
- 19:36Charles: We have other things that we're talking about
- 19:37Charles: that are not in Around the Net.
- 19:39Charles: We'll get there, we'll get there.
- 19:40Nora: I know, you guys didn't put any-
- 19:42Charles: Because there were so many things that we talked about
- 19:44Charles: and we're like, we're gonna talk about all those shows
- 19:45Charles: right before the show.
- 19:45Charles: We really did.
- 19:46Charles: We're gonna talk about all the things.
- 19:49Charles: First off, do we wanna do the Cheez-Its
- 19:51Charles: that you handed me right before we went live?
- 19:53Chris: Oh, I didn't think that was gonna be on the show,
- 19:55Chris: but go for it.
- 19:56Charles: Or do we wanna talk about Doug?
- 19:58Charles: Because-
- 19:58Charles: We need to
- 20:01Mandy: I'm talking about how you all are not living up
- 20:03Mandy: to your promises, promises of the one time I won something.
- 20:07Charles: Right. - This is true.
- 20:08Mandy: It's white man's lies.
- 20:09Mandy: This is true. - It is the white man's lies.
- 20:11Charles: It is the white man's lies.
- 20:13Charles: Chris and myself have not given Bates goods to Mandy.
- 20:18Chris: Also look at the light on me right now.
- 20:20Chris: I am the whitest man in the room, very clearly.
- 20:24Nora: (laughing)
- 20:25Charles: I mean, I'm pretty, I'm pretty, in this room,
- 20:27Charles: I'm pretty whitest.
- 20:30Nora: (laughing)
- 20:30Nora: I'm not as white as men in this.
- 20:31Charles: Okay, let's see, let's see, let's see.
- 20:32Nora: I'm just, once again, a brown person
- 20:34Charles: being taken advantage of.
- 20:36Charles: Nora and I have the same level of whiteness.
- 20:38Nora: It's true.
- 20:39Nora: (laughing)
- 20:40Nora: Mostly indoors.
- 20:41Chris: Yeah.
- 20:42Nora: We're mostly indoor people.
- 20:44Chris: That's true.
- 20:45Chris: The sun is not our friend.
- 20:48Charles: So, I've got an excuse.
- 20:51Charles: I do wanna say what's kinda going on on my end,
- 20:54Charles: but I do wanna hear from Chris.
- 20:55Charles: Chris, why have you not done the baked goods?
- 20:58Mandy: Yeah.
- 21:00Chris: I got nothing, honestly.
- 21:02Chris: I had planned on doing it,
- 21:05Chris: I had planned on timing it the week before Comic-Con
- 21:09Chris: and then I just didn't do it.
- 21:10Chris: I would love to come up with some sort of fancy reason why.
- 21:15Chris: I'd love to blame it on the fact that I hurt my back.
- 21:18Chris: I'd love to blame it on anything else,
- 21:21Chris: but it's just a failing as a human being
- 21:24Chris: is really all I have.
- 21:25Mandy: Yeah, yeah, mm-hmm.
- 21:27Mandy: Yeah.
- 21:28Mandy: Look at that disappointment. You've disappointed Charles.
- 21:31Mandy: Do you see this face on my face?
- 21:32Mandy: Yeah.
- 21:33Mandy: That's just his face.
- 21:34Mandy: [laughter]
- 21:35Mandy: It broke.
- 21:36Mandy: [laughter]
- 21:37Mandy: Shame.
- 21:38Mandy: Shame.
- 21:39Mandy: Shame.
- 21:40Nora: Shame.
- 21:41Nora: What's your excuse?
- 21:42Charles: Okay, Doug almost died.
- 21:44Nora: Ugh.
- 21:45Nora: My Doug died.
- 21:45Nora: My Doug died.
- 21:46Nora: My Doug was left on the counter and molded and then I had to throw him away.
- 21:49Mandy: Molded? I'm sorry. Molded and exploded spores into space.
- 21:53Mandy: Like bad.
- 21:54Mandy: Real bad.
- 21:54Mandy: Both of you?
- 21:55Mandy: Mine had spores too.
- 21:57Mandy: How did you do this?
- 21:58Mandy: I forgot to refrigerate it.
- 21:59Mandy: It was overnight, overnight.
- 22:01Mandy: And my house is cold, so I don't understand.
- 22:04Mandy: That's so weird that it, like-
- 22:06Nora: Your house is cold.
- 22:06Nora: I just forgot to put mine in the fridge.
- 22:07Nora: It stayed out on the counter for like a month and a half.
- 22:10Nora: (laughing)
- 22:12Charles: That's insane.
- 22:13Nora: That's my fault.
- 22:14Charles: That is insane, Nora.
- 22:17Charles: Like, I go like a couple days and I'm like,
- 22:20Charles: oh, I didn't feed Doug yesterday.
- 22:22Charles: Oh no, I look at it and I'm like,
- 22:25Charles: oh, it's on the counter, I need to do this
- 22:27Charles: otherwise I'm gonna have to throw it away.
- 22:29Charles: But you left it for a month on the counter?
- 22:32Mandy: Hey, how's your dug, actor?
- 22:34Chris: Mine?
- 22:35Chris: I left mine in the fridge for the last month.
- 22:37Chris: I don't know when it's been fed.
- 22:40Charles: So, honestly, yours is probably fine.
- 22:43Mandy: Is that the, does the actor have the reigning dug?
- 22:47Charles: No, no, mine's still good.
- 22:49Charles: Mine's good now.
- 22:50Charles: There's no way I'm winning this.
- 22:51Charles: It was close to dying.
- 22:54Charles: I kept, I put it in the fridge for a while
- 22:57Charles: I took it out and I started feeding it again.
- 22:59Charles: Like when I was out of town and then sick
- 23:01Charles: and everything like that, I totally spaced,
- 23:04Charles: you know, taking care of it.
- 23:05Charles: Sick. - But then,
- 23:07Mandy: sick, explosive diarrhea.
- 23:11Charles: Charles had ED.
- 23:12Charles: Yeah.
- 23:15Chris: Erectile dysfunction?
- 23:17Chris: Or explosive diarrhea, I don't know, maybe at both.
- 23:19Mandy: At the same time.
- 23:21Charles: Yeah, it's the one-two punch.
- 23:22Charles: Thank you.
- 23:24Charles: Yes folks, I did have ED.
- 23:27Charles: (laughing)
- 23:29Charles: What can I say?
- 23:31Charles: You know, that's a good excuse.
- 23:33Charles: Guys, I can't do the show, my dick's not working.
- 23:38Charles: (laughing)
- 23:40Chris: If your limp dick lasts longer than four hours,
- 23:43Chris: please see a doctor immediately.
- 23:47Charles: So I had to fix my dough,
- 23:50Charles: because even feeding it after like a week and a half,
- 23:53Charles: it still had this very vinegary smell to it.
- 23:56Charles: And I was like, I cannot,
- 23:59Charles: no matter how many times I've fed,
- 24:00Charles: I was doing twice a day feedings for a bit there,
- 24:03Charles: trying to get things done, it would not fix it.
- 24:06Charles: So I had to search the internet
- 24:09Charles: to try to find some ways to fix it.
- 24:11Charles: A sourdough forum.
- 24:12Charles: Yes, and somebody was like,
- 24:14Charles: you need to change up your ratios
- 24:16Charles: and feed it with warm water instead of cold water,
- 24:20Charles: and that should fix it.
- 24:21Nora: and I-- - What ratio did you switch to?
- 24:24Charles: I switched to one, so I was doing one, one, one.
- 24:28Charles: So, you know, for every gram of Doug,
- 24:33Charles: a gram of water and a gram of flour.
- 24:35Charles: Right, so then I moved to one, five, five.
- 24:39Charles: So one gram of Doug, five water, five flour,
- 24:45Charles: significantly less Doug, but overall,
- 24:48Charles: I just had to do that like once, and now Doug's fine.
- 24:51Nora: You had too much ferment going on.
- 24:54Nora: Yeah. - Too fermenty.
- 24:54Charles: It was, she was too hungry.
- 24:56Nora: You had too much sourdough in there.
- 24:58Charles: Yeah. - Interesting.
- 24:59Charles: So now he's good, and now I can bake a loaf of,
- 25:03Charles: you want, very specifically, normal sourdough bread,
- 25:07Charles: no frills, no fun, funky flavors.
- 25:10Nora: Just a nice salty sourdough.
- 25:12Charles: Salty sourdough.
- 25:14Mandy: I mean, look, it's basic, but then you get to dip.
- 25:18Mandy: You know, and if you have lots of flavors going on,
- 25:21Mandy: Like, I'm basic, apparently.
- 25:24Charles: Can Chris, we need to figure out when this,
- 25:27Charles: Mandy, are you here next week?
- 25:29Mandy: No, two weeks I'm out.
- 25:30Mandy: I will be here at the end of August though, sorry.
- 25:32Charles: Okay, so you're not gonna be here next week,
- 25:35Charles: you're not gonna be here the week after that.
- 25:37Charles: Three weeks from now,
- 25:39Charles: Chris and I will both bring you baked goods.
- 25:42Mandy: Look, I've learned not to trust white people, I'm sorry.
- 25:45Charles: And rightfully so.
- 25:47Mandy: Yeah, I'm not falling for it.
- 25:48Chris: I'm doing it, I'm making it happen.
- 25:50Mandy: I have these nice warm blankets
- 25:51Mandy: that definitely don't have smallpox on them.
- 25:54Chris: Okay, that was only one time.
- 25:57Chris: You're gonna hold that against us forever?
- 25:59Chris: (laughing)
- 26:00Mandy: Yeah.
- 26:00Chris: Mandy.
- 26:01Mandy: Was it once?
- 26:02Charles: And Mandy.
- 26:02Mandy: Yeah.
- 26:03Charles: I have made you-
- 26:03Charles: It's only once that I did it.
- 26:05Charles: Sourdough after sourdough.
- 26:06Mandy: You have, you have.
- 26:07Charles: I'm going to make you, I promise you,
- 26:10Charles: from my heart of hearts,
- 26:12Charles: I'm making you a sourdough in three weeks.
- 26:14Mandy: Okay, unless you have explosive diarrhea,
- 26:16Mandy: I don't want that, thank you.
- 26:18Chris: The irony of it is that while I'm not making my bread,
- 26:22Chris: I got bread from Nora last week.
- 26:23Chris: Yep, yep, that's true.
- 26:25Chris: How was the bread?
- 26:26Chris: It was delightful.
- 26:28Nora: And you got third place with it?
- 26:29Nora: I got third place out of three.
- 26:31Nora: The only, so the reason that I didn't place higher
- 26:33Nora: is 'cause the crust was a little crumbly
- 26:35Nora: and it's 'cause I baked it the day before
- 26:37Nora: and brought it the next day.
- 26:38Nora: That was...
- 26:40Chris: It's perfect toast consistency though.
- 26:42Chris: It is great as toast.
- 26:44Nora: And I did get complimented on the crumb of it.
- 26:47Nora: it's a really good texture.
- 26:49Chris: Agreed. - Nice.
- 26:50Mandy: I think I want the husband to enter it
- 26:52Mandy: 'cause he makes a really solid white dough,
- 26:55Mandy: like not sourdough, that's too advanced for him.
- 26:58Nora: Yeah, that's the other thing that happened
- 26:59Nora: is I just picked up all my knitting
- 27:02Nora: and all of my projects from the fair.
- 27:04Nora: I got four ribbons, or five ribbons
- 27:07Nora: out of the nine things that I entered,
- 27:09Nora: so that's really good.
- 27:10Nora: And I got a $25 award from a pottery place for knitting well.
- 27:17Nora: So I guess I'm gonna go do pottery because I knit.
- 27:21Nora: (laughing)
- 27:21Nora: Little confused on that, but I got an award.
- 27:24Nora: So there we go.
- 27:25Charles: Congrats. - Thank you.
- 27:26Charles: Congrats and you're gonna do the thing
- 27:28Charles: that you don't like to do, which is pottery.
- 27:30Nora: Pottery, it's the one thing that I'm dog shit at.
- 27:32Nora: I'm really good at art.
- 27:34Chris: I think you should record yourself doing this.
- 27:36Nora: Dog shit at pottery.
- 27:38Chris: Or, like Chris and I do it. - I mean,
- 27:39Chris: or you just have them practice.
- 27:41Charles: And we go and we-
- 27:43Charles: Make something for me.
- 27:44Charles: We ghost it up, Chris.
- 27:45Charles: Yeah, I like that.
- 27:47Mandy: I have been asking for an actor in Charles ghost moment
- 27:50Mandy: for a while now.
- 27:51Mandy: Yeah.
- 27:52Charles: We can do that.
- 27:52Charles: We're gonna do it with sourdough
- 27:53Charles: and I was gonna teach you how to do like,
- 27:55Charles: like the full steps, but in-
- 27:58Mandy: I mean, still time.
- 27:59Charles: There's still time.
- 28:00Charles: There's always time.
- 28:02Mandy: Well, unless, unless Doug dies.
- 28:04Charles: That's true.
- 28:05Charles: We got, I've got backup Doug in the freezer, so.
- 28:08Mandy: Oh, okay.
- 28:09Chris: That definitely doesn't sound like you hacked someone up
- 28:12Chris: and put him in the freezer.
- 28:14Chris: My father, Doug.
- 28:16Chris: (laughing)
- 28:17Chris: Your backup father.
- 28:18Nora: I will need more and I promise to keep it
- 28:21Nora: in the fridge this time.
- 28:23Charles: Should I bring some Doug next week?
- 28:24Nora: Yeah, I'll bring a cup.
- 28:26Nora: I have a Doug cup now.
- 28:28Mandy: Okay, so are we going to do a Doug off eventually then?
- 28:32Mandy: I know the actor really doesn't want to, but tough.
- 28:36Chris: I am happy to do a Doug off in 2028.
- 28:40Chris: No.
- 28:43Nora: I do need a good solid.
- 28:45Chris: I think by then I'll be ready.
- 28:46Nora: Couple of months.
- 28:47Nora: No.
- 28:48Nora: No, no, no, no, no, listen, listen, listen, listen.
- 28:51Nora: My sourdough, I was at a totally different house.
- 28:54Nora: It was a totally different time.
- 28:56Nora: I was using an electric oven and now I have a gas oven
- 29:00Nora: and so things bake totally differently in my oven.
- 29:04Nora: And the temperature of my new house
- 29:06Nora: is very different than my old one.
- 29:08Nora: So I need like a month,
- 29:10Nora: like four weeks of solid baking every week.
- 29:13Nora: She's not competitive.
- 29:15Nora: Good Lord. - To make sure that I can
- 29:15Nora: get my sourdough down because I wanna make good sourdough,
- 29:18Nora: but I need to practice for my sourdough.
- 29:20Nora: She wants to win.
- 29:21Chris: Yeah, I really don't wanna do this now.
- 29:22Nora: Because I wanna win.
- 29:24Nora: (laughing)
- 29:24Nora: See, that's the problem.
- 29:26Nora: You've had practice.
- 29:27Nora: You've had months of practice on sourdough.
- 29:30Nora: Yeah, and?
- 29:31Nora: I haven't.
- 29:32Nora: (laughing)
- 29:33Nora: I want an equal chance.
- 29:35Nora: I want a little bit of equal footing.
- 29:36Charles: All right, I'm fine with that.
- 29:38Charles: But I think we also need to come to terms with the fact
- 29:41Charles: that it's okay to fail because it's funnier.
- 29:44Charles: Like the best part of the video-
- 29:45Charles: Mine wasn't funny.
- 29:46Chris: My failure was not funny at all.
- 29:48Charles: What are you talking about?
- 29:50Charles: It was the best content in that montage that I made.
- 29:53Charles: It was hilarious.
- 29:54Charles: It was so funny.
- 29:55Charles: It was really, really good.
- 29:56Charles: I'm glad you enjoyed it.
- 29:58Charles: It was so funny, Chris.
- 30:02Charles: It was really funny.
- 30:04Charles: I'm glad.
- 30:05Charles: Jeez-its, okay.
- 30:06Charles: So what's the story with these?
- 30:08Nora: These were one of our American foods, the 4th of July.
- 30:12Chris: Our 4th of July episode, this was one of them
- 30:14Chris: and we saved them for you to try.
- 30:17Chris: I don't remember why, but.
- 30:19Mandy: 'Cause we thought that they,
- 30:20Mandy: I didn't eat it 'cause I can't,
- 30:21Mandy: but everyone decided it tasted like Taco Bell
- 30:24Mandy: and so they didn't like it.
- 30:25Mandy: And I was like, well, Charles loves Taco Bell.
- 30:27Chris: That's right, yeah.
- 30:28Chris: I love Taco Bell.
- 30:29Mandy: And this might be something that you enjoy, I don't know.
- 30:31Chris: If only we recorded these things
- 30:32Chris: so we could remember them.
- 30:33Chris: Right, right.
- 30:34Mandy: I remember just fine.
- 30:35Charles: You're doing great. All right. All right. I'm gonna try these
- 30:39Charles: I have a I have an idea for for content that I want to tell you guys after I try these so anyways
- 30:46Charles: smells
- 30:48Charles: smells like barbecue barbecuing I
- 31:00Charles: I can see where you're coming from with the Taco Bell.
- 31:05Mandy: It's been too, it's been a month since I tried those.
- 31:07Mandy: I don't know.
- 31:07Charles: No problem.
- 31:08Mandy: Yeah.
- 31:09Mandy: I think I didn't like them.
- 31:09Mandy: It's been a month since we've eaten that stuff and I'm still not going near a hot dog.
- 31:16Chris: I mean that, that Dr. Pepper bratwurst was disgusting.
- 31:20Chris: Drama.
- 31:20Chris: Except, unless you're Nora, in which case it was delightful.
- 31:23Charles: Talking about, talking about the Dr. Pepper.
- 31:27Charles: Laura found a
- 31:29Charles: dr. Pepper
- 31:31Charles: jello cup
- 31:33Charles: What so we have an idea that I want to pitch you guys
- 31:40Charles: That we've tried all these dr. Pepper flavored things that are just not good
- 31:46Charles: Right. What if I were to cook a meal that is entirely dr. Pepper based the right way the right way
- 31:54Mandy: I'm not falling for another one of the white man's lies
- 31:59Charles: Because because hear me out like

- 1:22:45Nora: for cutting the cheese during a screening.
- 1:22:48Charles: "There's no respect anymore," someone said.
- 1:22:52Charles: "But I don't think anyone is so rotten
- 1:22:54Charles: "as to evacuate an entire auditorium."
- 1:22:57Charles: I would just like to say, as an IBS girly.
- 1:23:00Charles: (laughing)
- 1:23:03Mandy: Same, Charles, same.
- 1:23:04Charles: Okay, now I think it's on a different level.
- 1:23:10Charles: The skill that this person,
- 1:23:12Charles: I'm going to say, most likely, a man.
- 1:23:15Charles: That's right, can we agree this is most likely-
- 1:23:18Mandy: They did that study on on farts about women and men men's farts are way stinkier. Yeah
- 1:23:25Charles: Scientifically. Yeah, so most likely this was like statistically. This was most likely a man. So I'm gonna say he
- 1:23:33Charles: This isn't him. This is this is an icon
- 1:23:38Charles: Not only did they have this happen where an entire theater got evacuated because of his stinky ass farts
- 1:23:46Charles: The New York Post wrote an article about it.
- 1:23:50Charles: They thought that this was good enough quality
- 1:23:53Charles: of entertainment or newsworthy enough
- 1:23:57Charles: to write a whole ass article about it.
- 1:23:59Chris: Yeah, stalwart of the journalism community,
- 1:24:01Chris: the New York Post.
- 1:24:03Chris: I want to fart so hard.
- 1:24:06Mandy: You wanna be that man?
- 1:24:07Mandy: I wanna be this man!
- 1:24:09Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:24:09Chris: Mandy, bring that back up and scroll up.
- 1:24:14Chris: So for those of us for those who are just listening to this yeah, there's a spider-man cosplayer who was at the screening
- 1:24:21Mandy: We think he did I guarantee you
- 1:24:24Chris: This is the culprit
- 1:24:31Mandy: You trusted that you shouldn't have you would be able to see it in that I don't I I wouldn't I wouldn't fart up
- 1:24:38Charles: My spider suit and I feel like that fart would probably rip through the spider suit
- 1:24:42Charles: Burn a hole.
- 1:24:45Chris: It starts a fire in his seat.
- 1:24:47Charles: Yeah, they should have checked that.
- 1:24:49Charles: Be like, oh, is there any poop left over?
- 1:24:54Mandy: Is this the hero of the weird little guys?
- 1:24:58Mandy: This is-
- 1:24:59Mandy: Like the king of?
- 1:25:00Chris: This is the superhero. - All I know is
- 1:25:02Chris: that spider was slinging more than webs that day.
- 1:25:06Charles: Don't ever call anything slinging webs.
- 1:25:11Charles: You're like, yeah, Spider-Man's slinging webs.
- 1:25:13Charles: I don't wanna hear about him slinging his webs around.
- 1:25:17Charles: Yet you keep saying it.
- 1:25:19Mandy: I don't know, so in the chat,
- 1:25:21Mandy: Olivia seems to think that we should hold
- 1:25:23Mandy: an in-person punch-a-thon.
- 1:25:25Chris: Yay!
- 1:25:26Mandy: Olivia volunteered as they are kid-sized.
- 1:25:29Chris: Olivia, why don't you come to the studio
- 1:25:31Chris: and you'll go first?
- 1:25:33Chris: (laughing)
- 1:25:34Chris: That was so vicious.
- 1:25:36Chris: Chris was like, I'm gonna beat the fuck out of you, Olivia.
- 1:25:39Chris: No, not me. - This from the person
- 1:25:39Mandy: who flinched.
- 1:25:40Mandy: I'm the person who flinched.
- 1:25:42Chris: Yeah, I talk a big game and that's where it stops.
- 1:25:46Mandy: Flinched, I didn't even like,
- 1:25:47Mandy: I gestured in his like general vicinity, flinch.
- 1:25:53Chris: Mandy gestures pretty hard in my own defense.
- 1:25:56Chris: And also Olivia, we love you.
- 1:25:58Chris: We would never punch our audience.
- 1:26:00Chris: I would fuck up every single person
- 1:26:02Charles: who's punched their audience.
- 1:26:05Charles: (laughing)
- 1:26:06Charles: Don't talk for me, Chris.
- 1:26:09Charles: I'm in a fighting mood right now.
- 1:26:11Charles: I'm going to beat the shit out of everybody
- 1:26:13Charles: who's watching this show.
- 1:26:14Charles: Where's that technical difficulties card?
- 1:26:17Mandy: No, I'm letting this one ride.
- 1:26:19Charles: Oh, shit.
- 1:26:21Charles: For legal purposes, this is not a joke.
- 1:26:23Mandy: This is not a joke.
- 1:26:28Charles: Yeah, Nora's right behind me.
- 1:26:29Charles: He's like, I'm going to hold his shoe.
- 1:26:33Mandy: I'll hold his glasses, make sure those don't get hurt.
- 1:26:37Mandy: Thanks, dog.
- 1:26:38Mandy: Yeah, I got two. - Fist bump, hell yeah.
- 1:26:41Chris: This has been a fist bump heavy show.
- 1:26:42Nora: Yeah. - Yeah.
- 1:26:44Nora: Supporting each other, that's why.
- 1:26:45Chris: There's a lot of aggression this week.
- 1:26:47Nora: Yeah. - Yeah.
- 1:26:48Chris: Yeah.
- 1:26:52Nora: Over the hands. - Did I glitch?
- 1:26:55Nora: I think I went, I think I was trying to-
- 1:26:56Charles: You came back, you came back at me.
- 1:26:57Nora: Yeah, okay good.
- 1:26:58Charles: Like an uppercut.
- 1:27:00Charles: (laughing)
- 1:27:03Chris: So here's the question, y'all.
- 1:27:04Chris: Will the mystery of the slinger be solved?
- 1:27:10Charles: I want them to come forward.
- 1:27:12Charles: Personally, I would say this person needs to come forward,
- 1:27:16Charles: both to own up to their crime, 'cause it is a crime,
- 1:27:20Charles: shitting yourself in the theater.
- 1:27:22Nora: You can't yell fart in a crowded theater.
- 1:27:25Nora: (laughing)
- 1:27:29Charles: Nice, that was good.
- 1:27:31Charles: Take a bow, take a bow, stand up, take a bow.
- 1:27:34Charles: Incredible. - Perfect.
- 1:27:36Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:27:39Mandy: She won the show.
- 1:27:40Charles: So they need to come forward to go to jail, I think,
- 1:27:46Charles: for this.
- 1:27:47Charles: It's just like, I would say it's on the same level
- 1:27:50Charles: as looking at your phone while you're in a theater.
- 1:27:51Charles: I think it's the same level of disruption as that.
- 1:27:56Charles: And both should be a felony.
- 1:27:59Chris: What I wanna know, Charles,
- 1:28:00Chris: are you willing to offer a reward
- 1:28:04Chris: to bring the criminal to justice?
- 1:28:07Charles: I don't, I want them to own up to their crime.
- 1:28:10Charles: However, I think they are the coolest person.
- 1:28:13Charles: You could give them a trophy.
- 1:28:14Charles: This is like-
- 1:28:14Nora: If they come forward,
- 1:28:15Nora: we'll get them a trophy sponsored by our show.
- 1:28:18Nora: I feel like they're a masked hero.
- 1:28:20Charles: They are a masked hero.
- 1:28:21Charles: This is like Luigi Mangione.
- 1:28:23Charles: (laughing)
- 1:28:24Charles: Oh God.
- 1:28:24Charles: You know, allegedly.
- 1:28:25Mandy: Too far, too far.
- 1:28:27Mandy: There's the technical difficulties card.
- 1:28:29Mandy: We have the real hero.
- 1:28:32Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:28:36Charles: I'm also shit today.
- 1:28:37Mandy: Oh my god, the husband just texted me
- 1:28:39Mandy: that we need to find the pooper traitor.
- 1:28:42Mandy: The pooper traitor.
- 1:28:44Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:28:45Charles: That's why I married that man.
- 1:28:47Charles: Have him stand up and take a bow.
- 1:28:49Charles: Husband, stand up and take a bow right now.
- 1:28:51Charles: He just won the show.
- 1:28:52Nora: Oh, the intern, good job.
- 1:28:55Nora: Yeah, I mean, we would buy them a trophy
- 1:28:58Charles: If they do come forward, I'm serious. I will I will buy you a trophy. I will get one like 3d printed of
- 1:29:06Charles: Spider-man and like a poop emoji. Yeah, but you you would need to
- 1:29:11Chris: Prove that you were at that screening. So hopefully you saved your movie stuff
- 1:29:18Mandy: I want nothing to do with it. Yeah my picture
- 1:29:22Charles: Right proof. We need proof that you should I don't want this to be like
- 1:29:26Charles: I'm Spartacus situation where we start getting a lot of shitters coming up and telling us that they're they're the ones who did it
- 1:29:33Charles: Right, however
- 1:29:35Charles: However, if you come forward you admit your crime
- 1:29:40Charles: Call into the show. We let us know you a trophy
- 1:29:42Mandy: We will make you a true make you a trophy if you were in Cartagena and maybe
- 1:29:48Mandy: Trusted a fart you shouldn't have
- 1:29:50Charles: Please call the show a today a five three vibe
- 1:29:54Charles: I've been there recently.
- 1:29:57Charles: And unfortunately, it was definitely the day
- 1:30:00Charles: that I was not on this show.
- 1:30:02Charles: (laughing)
- 1:30:03Chris: Your ED day, your ED vacation as it were.
- 1:30:06Chris: Yeah.
- 1:30:08Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:30:10Chris: E-day.
- 1:30:11Chris: (laughing)
- 1:30:14Mandy: The day that we'll live in infamy.
- 1:30:15Mandy: Yeah, yep, yep.
- 1:30:17Chris: Well, there's no way we're gonna top that,
- 1:30:19Chris: but let's talk about something else stupid
- 1:30:22Chris: for our last segment here.
- 1:30:24Chris: And we're gonna start with a video
- 1:30:27Chris: from our own 9 News here in Colorado.
- 1:30:29Video Clip: Love that.
- 1:30:30Video Clip: A house for sale in tiny Nunn, Colorado,
- 1:30:33Video Clip: northeast of Fort Collins, has a property listing
- 1:30:36Video Clip: that's so bizarre, so disturbing, it's gone viral online.
- 1:30:40Video Clip: Buyers are told they can't see inside, can't go inside,
- 1:30:44Video Clip: but they can buy it, then take their chances
- 1:30:47Video Clip: with the current occupant.
- 1:30:49Video Clip: Our Spencer Soyscher was curious,
- 1:30:51Video Clip: So he went to Nunn and met a woman fighting to hold on
- 1:30:55Video Clip: to her small piece of Colorado.
- 1:30:56Chris: Now that's delivery.
- 1:30:58Video Clip: No interior photos, sold sight unseen,
- 1:31:02Video Clip: no inspection allowed.
- 1:31:04Video Clip: Do not disturb the occupants.
- 1:31:06Video Clip: The ad is unreal, right?
- 1:31:08Video Clip: Who would buy a home,
- 1:31:11Video Clip: sight unseen with an occupant still in it?
- 1:31:14Video Clip: Tori McMeachin is the occupant,
- 1:31:16Video Clip: mentioned in a bizarre and startling Zillow listing
- 1:31:19Video Clip: for a home in Nunn, Colorado.
- 1:31:21Video Clip: Which tells people if you buy it, it's your job.
- 1:31:25Chris: Nunn's about a half hour away
- 1:31:26Chris: from where we are right now, by the way.
- 1:31:29Video Clip: It's gonna be pretty difficult.
- 1:31:30Video Clip: I'm not leaving willingly.
- 1:31:31Video Clip: Corey's husband died in a car crash
- 1:31:33Video Clip: amidst a nasty political dispute in town.
- 1:31:36Video Clip: What the, why do we have to bring that up?
- 1:31:39Video Clip: There's more to this.
- 1:31:40Video Clip: This is the last thing that my husband bought
- 1:31:42Video Clip: for me before he passed.
- 1:31:44Video Clip: This is where I raised my children.
- 1:31:47Video Clip: This property has been part of foreclosure cases
- 1:31:49Video Clip: for more than 15 years.
- 1:31:51Video Clip: The bank that has been unwilling to
- 1:31:54Video Clip: work with me as a surviving spouse.
- 1:31:57Video Clip: Tori says her husband's name
- 1:31:58Video Clip: was on the loan agreement and
- 1:32:00Video Clip: claims the bank wouldn't speak to
- 1:32:02Video Clip: her or accept her payment because of it.
- 1:32:04Video Clip: So she hasn't paid rent since we
- 1:32:06Video Clip: took out the loan. I the actual
- 1:32:08Video Clip: loan on this house in 06 in 15 years.
- 1:32:12Video Clip: 2021 this home would have been paid off.
- 1:32:15Video Clip: Tori has been successfully able to
- 1:32:17Video Clip: appeal over and over again in court
- 1:32:20Video Clip: until she recently lost a court
- 1:32:21Video Clip: the court of
- 1:32:51Video Clip: She's not a half bad roommate.
- 1:32:53Video Clip: I'm staying, they can come on in, but I'm not leaving.
- 1:32:58Video Clip: So Tori says she's been able to pay the loan,
- 1:33:01Video Clip: but has dropped $60,000 on attorneys over the years.
- 1:33:04Mandy: Can I?
- 1:33:05Mandy: That sucks.
- 1:33:07Chris: So yeah, there's a lot going on with this story.
- 1:33:11Chris: What Nine News unfortunately left out is,
- 1:33:15Chris: yes, this place has been foreclosed on
- 1:33:17Chris: for the better part of the last decade.
- 1:33:19Chris: and her husband died shortly after he bought this house.
- 1:33:25Chris: But what they did not either know
- 1:33:28Chris: or did not cover in the news story
- 1:33:30Chris: is that he died shortly after threatening
- 1:33:34Chris: the entire town council in Nunn with a knife,
- 1:33:39Chris: drunkenly by the way, then getting into his car
- 1:33:42Chris: and ending up in a car wreck that he caused himself
- 1:33:47Chris: based on a dispute over uranium mining
- 1:33:50Chris: (laughing)
- 1:33:51Chris: that dates back to 2008.
- 1:33:54Charles: Holy shit.
- 1:33:55Chris: (laughing)
- 1:33:56Chris: This woman-
- 1:33:56Chris: Yeah, there's some political disputes.
- 1:33:58Chris: Right, so in the course of these disputes,
- 1:34:01Chris: basically there were some people who wanted the mining
- 1:34:05Chris: and some people who didn't.
- 1:34:07Chris: They fought for years over this issue
- 1:34:10Chris: to the point where the entire town council
- 1:34:13Chris: got kicked off of council.
- 1:34:15Chris: This woman included because she was the town clerk
- 1:34:18Chris: at the time.
- 1:34:20Chris: This was after her husband also ran
- 1:34:23Chris: one of the other members of council off the road
- 1:34:26Chris: in attempted vehicular manslaughter.
- 1:34:28Chris: Holy shit.
- 1:34:30Chris: And yeah, now she's back in the news again
- 1:34:33Chris: for essentially claiming squatters' rights.
- 1:34:38Chris: When this went up on Zillow,
- 1:34:41Chris: and there's a site called like Zillow from Hell
- 1:34:45Chris: or something where they post bizarre Zillow listings
- 1:34:49Chris: and when it basically said that you can't enter the property
- 1:34:52Chris: and we can't guarantee the condition,
- 1:34:54Chris: also there's no photos of it,
- 1:34:55Chris: you just gotta take our word for it
- 1:34:57Chris: and good luck getting her out.
- 1:34:59Chris: It was seen over four million times on Twitter
- 1:35:02Chris: and that's how this story spread.
- 1:35:04Chris: So yeah guys, this is just down the road.
- 1:35:07Chris: Do you think we should have her on the show?
- 1:35:09Chris: Oh my God.
- 1:35:11Nora: I'm gonna say that this person seems like
- 1:35:15Nora: in a lot of... - Yeah, I know.
- 1:35:18Charles: I feel like... - Questionable things,
- 1:35:21Nora: and politically, I don't think that we want to associate
- 1:35:24Nora: with either side of it.
- 1:35:25Charles: I would just say, politically,
- 1:35:26Charles: we probably don't agree.
- 1:35:30Charles: And I...
- 1:35:31Charles: I don't know.
- 1:35:32Mandy: I vote for the Reverend from last week.
- 1:35:35Mandy: That's who I want in the show.
- 1:35:37Mandy: Evil Reverend Jim.
- 1:35:37Charles: Evil Reverend Jim.
- 1:35:39Charles: Chris, has there been any updates?
- 1:35:41Chris: We have reached out to his representation.
- 1:35:45Chris: (laughing)
- 1:35:45Chris: We talked to them on Instagram.
- 1:35:48Chris: There's an Instagram for Evil Reverend Jim
- 1:35:51Chris: that apparently is not run by him
- 1:35:53Chris: and based on some of the posts,
- 1:35:54Chris: he may not know it exists either.
- 1:35:57Chris: So I guess these are just supporters of his
- 1:35:59Chris: who are trying to get more attention for him
- 1:36:03Chris: but they have told us that they will pass
- 1:36:06Chris: our information on to him
- 1:36:07Chris: and yeah, hopefully he'll come on the show.
- 1:36:10Charles: Well-- - That's exciting.
- 1:36:10Charles: Well, we'll keep pressing it
- 1:36:13Charles: because I'm gonna clip this and send it to them
- 1:36:16Charles: and say like, "Hey look, we got a great show.
- 1:36:19Charles: "It's really funny, it's a delight,
- 1:36:21Charles: "and we think that River Jim would be a great-
- 1:36:25Charles: Addition. - Like addition to the show.
- 1:36:26Charles: We'll do a musical set and an interview.
- 1:36:30Charles: Yeah. - We might feed him too.
- 1:36:32Charles: And feed him.
- 1:36:32Charles: Yeah, we can absolutely feed him.
- 1:36:34Charles: We can make it the same day that we do our Dr. Pepper.
- 1:36:39Chris: But I do think that if we are not able to
- 1:36:42Chris: terms with Reverend Jim, I think she might be a good, a good back up.
- 1:36:49Chris: Does she do a musical act though?
- 1:36:50Chris: Hopefully. She'll be singing the foreclosure blues here pretty shortly.
- 1:36:55Nora: All right. I feel like there's like more to the story that there's a reason that she has been in
- 1:37:02Nora: court for so long.
- 1:37:03Mandy: Yeah. No, we've met these people. We've met these sort of people in our lives, right?
- 1:37:07Mandy: All of us.
- 1:37:09Mandy: Yeah.
- 1:37:10Charles: What is that reason though? Now I'm kind of on Chris's side.
- 1:37:12Charles: I kind of want to know
- 1:37:15Nora: I'm okay
- 1:37:17Charles: One thing one thing before we go. Yeah, because we're at the end of the show. We need to buy tickets to wrestling
- 1:37:25Charles: Oh, they're they're already bought. We're we're set. We're going you already wait you already bought them. Yes
- 1:37:30Charles: How are the four of us for the four of us? Okay, I'm gonna see maybe there's a couple others that will join us
- 1:37:37Charles: And I'll great but you got the ticket. Do you mean to send you some cash?
- 1:37:41Chris: This is a company expense Charles. Come on. Yeah, we're gonna make some content out of it. That's right
- 1:37:47Nora: I'm really excited you guys I'm really excited and folks if you want to contribute to our adventures
- 1:37:52Chris: You can make a tax-deductible donation to loudspeaker at loudspeaker org Mandy's gonna put that right on the screen now for you
- 1:37:59Chris: We are a nonprofit organization and every dollar helps us to do weird things like everything on this show. Mm-hmm
- 1:38:07Nora: In wrestling too.
- 1:38:08Chris: In wrestling too.
- 1:38:09Chris: It's true.
- 1:38:09Nora: It's true.
- 1:38:10Nora: And try weird little snacks.
- 1:38:12Chris: And try weird little snacks and interview
- 1:38:13Chris: weird little guys and showcase weird little guys.
- 1:38:16Chris: I like these Cheez-Its.
- 1:38:18Chris: (laughing)
- 1:38:18Nora: I'm not surprised.
- 1:38:19Nora: I knew it, I knew it.
- 1:38:20Nora: We thought you would.
- 1:38:21Charles: I like 'em.
- 1:38:22Charles: I don't think that they're very Taco Bell-y.
- 1:38:23Mandy: Okay.
- 1:38:24Charles: I think that they're delightful.
- 1:38:26Charles: They do taste like chili cheese.
- 1:38:29Charles: They do have a little chili cheese flavor to 'em.
- 1:38:31Mandy: Is it worth me trying with my allergies?
- 1:38:33Mandy: 'Cause I really wanna know.
- 1:38:35Charles: Probably not.
- 1:38:36Mandy: Peppers.
- 1:38:37Mandy: I mean, the last time you-
- 1:38:38Mandy: Oh no, I'm allergic.
- 1:38:39Mandy: I know I'm allergic.
- 1:38:40Chris: The last time you tried something
- 1:38:42Mandy: that went against your allergies, it did not go well.
- 1:38:44Mandy: No, you're right, you're right.
- 1:38:45Mandy: We're done, we're done.
- 1:38:45Mandy: That's up to you.
- 1:38:46Mandy: No, we're done.
- 1:38:46Charles: We're not doing it on the show, though.
- 1:38:48Charles: (Mandy laughs)
- 1:38:49Charles: Just watch you balloon up.
- 1:38:50Mandy: Yep, yep, no, we're good.
- 1:38:51Mandy: Okay.
- 1:38:52Charles: Cool.
- 1:38:53Charles: Well-
