- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: If you played a win, you may not ever hit the actual goal you set for yourself, but you will move yourself into a place where you are challenged and you actually can look back and go, I did the best I could could.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the be it till you see it podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'm also Logan, prize instructor, and fit this business coach.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: My friends, action brings clarity, and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Each week, my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it till you see it.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: Well, come back to the B.A.A.T.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: You see it in every recap of my course in life, Brad and I are going to dig into the unfiltered combo.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: I have a place you knew in the last episode.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was unfiltered.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: If you listen to the Jamie Learner 101, I don't think so.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's for me.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: And then you listen to this one.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: Lacy makes sure you understand.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's fucking for you.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: you don't get out of this life without prioritizing yourself.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: So if you want to know more about that, you should listen to it.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: But you can listen to us first and then go listen to that.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Today is October 29th and it's National Hermit Day.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: Very important, Brad, getting the options.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I think some of you guys are overdoing it.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: And in order to honor Lacey Newman's obsession with what she wanted to do, which it'll snap out.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think you have to be a little bit of a hermit.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really good at hermiting.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: I, I love it.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: I can't.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: Leslie's really good at hermiting.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's true.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: I can hermit for a month and go.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, I was just thinking about you.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm also an Aquarius, so when we say we miss you, we really mean it.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: Anyways, National Hermit Day is observed every October 29th.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: It invites everyone to step away from the hustle and bustle and embrace some much-needed solitude.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: This day is a perfect opportunity to destress, recharge your mental batteries and reconnect with yourself.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: Find your favorite quiet spot, engage in a calming activity and save for the peace.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: Take a break and turn off notifications and enjoy your me time to the fullest.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: How do you do that without going to the mountain up and living in isolation?
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: I have a just turn on all your phones and devices often put on some good music.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to go that's easy, but apparently you need information.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: So you could replace physical isolation in the wilderness with digital boundaries, remote work and low visibility urban or rural living.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: That would actually move in low visibility urban or living.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: Secular hermets do not need to move to a cave to disconnect.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: Instead, they build structured routines within their society.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow, drastically coming out of orbit.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: They're social footprint.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you are.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: You are the queen of Irish gubi's and also saying yes and no intentionally.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're just so you all know in case no until June.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: The Irish gubi is the kindest way you could leave a party.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: It is the least selfish way to leave a party.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: And Chelsea Hamler, in fact, Irish gubi's her own parties at her own house.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I love that.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just, I, I was gonna buy you just don't make the thing that I believe in about you, right?
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: So anyways, I recommend becoming a modern urban hermit of some kind.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: You could just hermit for one hour a day, could be half an hour a day, could be 10 minutes, but try it.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: If you're wondering how I have so much energy and I get everything done, it's cause I spend very little time worrying myself about being around people.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I love the people like this bedtime time, I find I get just one time with them.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: And also I'm the most present when I'm with them.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think Brad probably just agreed, but we live and work together.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a different story.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's all true.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: We commute together.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: We eat lunch together.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: We like together.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: So you can only spend so much of the time present.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: You guys want to run through this.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the deal.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: I have a applies teacher training with some amazing educators and at the time that you're listening this, I will have announced where these cities are on the wait list and so if you didn't hear that yet, you need to get on the wait list.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: Has a teacher training program that I created that I used to base in Joe Poli systems and the science of learning and it's disrupting the applies education for sure and the people who are teaching it for me are people that I've trained through my elevate mentorship program and they are hand trained by me hand picked by me and I am really, really excited for the people that you will get to learn with so.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: XXLO.co-swws.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: We will have a quiz on my website, so if you're wondering if you need to be up up a lift or if you need to be an elevate, there'll be a one-minute quiz.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: Requestions.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: You can find, I don't have that link right now, but just if you go to my site, you'll find it.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: And then, elevate is for those of you who are already a currently apolize instructor conference that we train that wants to study directly with me or perhaps you want to study with me and then you want to become an up-lift educator that is currently the path to become an up-lift
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: So lessilogin.co-elevate, 2028 might be sold out.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: But you should check.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: You should see as well.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: It might be for you.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's a funny house.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: Some spaces just open up for the right person.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's true.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: So flashcards.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: These are for you.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: Whether you are a applies instructor, a applies lover.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: We have six different decks.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: You can go to opc.me slash flashcards to grab those and when you grab flashcards from us, we actually donate to the Nevada SPCA, they not only help dogs get homes around here.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: They actually also help dogs stay in homes around here, which is really cool, especially as economy is having a hard time.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: It really is beneficial.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: They guess is one of the largest rental communities that are out there and so a lot of people have to give up animals because of a rental property thing and they actually help keep those dogs in those homes.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: So they do amazing work.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: And if you are I with I love my flashcards, but I want something else, you go to OP sent me such posters and you can grab posters that go along with those flashcards or just grab the posters because that's what you want.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: You guys, we just got back from Cambodia and if you
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of my favorite thing to do in the world, it is amazing.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's just simply going back for us now, it's like going home.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: We've been going there for, it's 2026 y'all.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: We've been going there for 10 years.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's insane.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's insane.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: We've got our house on it.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm not 10 years older.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: We got our house in 2018, so it's been eight years at our own place.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, if we could go more often, we absolutely would.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: There's something very special about.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: Being there, the people are just so kind, loving and amazing.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: The temples of Angkor are, I think they're on one of the wonders of the world, less than I don't know.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: But they're unbelievably cool, y'all.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: They were built a thousand years ago and they got buried in the jungle, and then they're unbear it from the jungle now.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: They're just, it's amazing.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's mind blowing.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then, Leslie teaches Pilates.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: You get the local food.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: You get to build some new relationships with friends.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just epic.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: So you should definitely join us.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: So go to creases for treats.com to get on the weight list because January is when we open up the doors for next year's trip and this you and sold out in three weeks.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: So you definitely want to be on that weight list.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm unpacking just a pack because I'm going back to Asia.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to the Pilates Summit in China outside of Shanghai.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: And you can Google less a Logan teaching in China.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure the link will come up.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't been given that link yet But it's only really wonderful.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's our second one and I'm really excited There's some other people who are teaching that I know from the Pilates travel circuit and so I can tell you it's gonna be wonderful education for you
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then I'm going to be teaching at the last 50th anniversary celebration for Bounce Body at their POT, their Plaza and Tour in Goa, India.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: That one's a really cool one because you don't just buy one day by the weekend and you apparently could have lunch with me.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot going on that I will find out when I get there, but it's going to be literally running a little mini we're tree together in Goa, India, which looks like a resort.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, of sorts.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I am here for it.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm here to be spoiled fucking rotten.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to be at her sort and go.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, I'm so jealous that I'm not going because I'm driving the van to Denver when she flies home.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: I will pick her up at the airport and we will go on our winter tour.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, tickets have already dropped.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: So go to opc.me slash tour.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: Opc.me slash tour and come meet up in
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: There are tours always for polise lovers of all levels, so whether you're polise curious or you're polise seasoned instructor, there's classes and workshops for you, lots of fun prizes, bounce body is one of our biggest sponsors to help make sure we can make these the biggest tours we can do.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know how many miles it says, but it looks fucking massive.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, this one is going to be up in the in the 80 500 again, you know, area, but we're going from Vegas to Boston to Miami and back.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, where's what we're doing?
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: Here we go, fingers crossed is not so fucking cold because the summer tour was so fucking hot.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was really hot.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: The summer tour was hot.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: As you know, we like to feature a charity, and October is a couple of different months.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: We've highlighted a few things already this month, but it's also domestic violence, awareness month.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're not familiar with that, domestic violence, awareness month, October, and the charity we would like to feature this week is futures without violence, also known as futures.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Futures was founded in 1980 by S. the Solar, a social worker in San Francisco who kept seeing the same pattern,
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: women in recovery programs who were also survivors of domestic abuse with nowhere to turn.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: She got a federal grant and built what is now one of the most effective violence prevention organizations in the country, amazing.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: They were instrumental in passing the violence against women acting in 1994 and every reauthorization sits.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: But here's what makes them different.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: They actually run a program called coaching boys into men that trains athletic coaches to teach young men about healthy relationships, respect and what it means to step up instead of staying silent.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: So that's pretty cool.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: They're being proactive and how are they doing that.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: They're working with coaches, you know, who obviously are very influential in boys lives.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: I love that because also it gets for that locker room talk that has always which is such a crock of shit.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: Bucket shit, bunch of insecure fucking assholes.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so basically they also work with healthcare providers over 10,000 of them so that your doctor's office becomes a safe place to also ask for help.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: And they've held a four-star charity navigator rating since 2006, 82 sets of every single dollar that is provided goes into their programs and it's amazing and they've been doing this work for more than 40 years y'all.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: 40 years.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: I really love that.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: I, I, in fact, I think that's really wonderful.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: We should keep a watch on this one because especially with the manosphere being so dominant in these boys' lives.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: We, the tape.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: There's going to jail.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys should have stayed in jail.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: And you know what?
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: They're complaining.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: They're complaining about how they're being harassed and bullied.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how they still have access to the internet.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't understand it either, but I really love it.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm saying it's about what I will say is I've always wondered what is the counter programming to that because the thing is it's social media, the true way of being a man is not very sexy, but I love that it's more intimate and more personable and it's with these coaches and things like that.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: So I do think that's a wonderful way to counteract what these grifters don't make up pastors, but for men's coaching.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but insecurity, it's like what they are.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, it's insane.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: But if you like what the mission is for futures, you can find out more about them and support what they're doing at futureswithoutviolence.org that's all one word.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: So futureswithoutviolence.org.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: And if you have a charity that you want us to talk about and look into and all the things, just text us 310905-5534 or you can hit us up at bipad.com slash questions.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: Let's dig into this convoy we have with Lacey Newman.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: Are you ready?
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do this.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: Lacey is a business coach for ambitious women.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: She's a keynote speaker and the host of the Emmy-nominated TV show, The American Dream.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: She helps women build a business that fits the life they actually want to live.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: Before coaching, Lacey spent 20 years in real estate building a top 1% luxury team in Nashville.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: While raising two kids as a solo mom, she's a self-described
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: who helps women be the architect of their own ambition.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: It was an amazing conversation.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: So I thought so.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there are so many things that I agree with.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: The goal of the whole app was hilarious.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this is, this is, this is why you're here.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, very refreshing.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it was very fresh because sometimes you're okay.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just here on an island, chatting from the rooftops that you deserve to prioritize yourself first.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: And then she's, yeah, this is what I coach on them.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: Great.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, wonderful.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: We're not alone.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: Why don't you tell them because maybe they need to hear your words because he is a mom.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she is a mom and and things like that.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: And she said, okay, this is really cool.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: She said, achieving what you want to achieve does not happen by accident.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: And then she said, but the second you try to change
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: The things around you kind of push back and she discredits like crabs and a bucket.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this was new to me.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: I've heard of this.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: I actually do have seen images of this.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: I guess I didn't realize what was going on.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: But when the crabs are in a bucket, and the one crab is buck this, I'm getting out of the bucket.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: The other crabs are like, no, don't do it.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: Stay in the bucket and that's how half of your fucking friends are.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's how they are.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe more than half.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: Probably your whole fucking group, which actually, if you did Brad, if you did Brad Bizjacks, course last couple weeks ago, you heard the power of people that you're around.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: So if you didn't, you missed out.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: If we don't next year, but goals in his episode was to go.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: But everything people have, it's your mindset, the universe tests you and tries to keep you in the same place that you were.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I do believe this, I do believe as soon as you're okay.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: This is a thing that I want.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: There's always an obstacle to make sure you fucking want it.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: Some people see the obstacles like, oh, that's a door closing and I think it now, how interested, how much are you gonna fight for this?
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you aren't good, if you're just going to lay down, go, oh, can't do it, you really want it.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: You know?
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's very true.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, remember the movie with Will Smith where he was the single dad.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: And do you remember that one way back in the day?
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: He won awards.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: Unbelievable inspirational movie.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's based on someone's real life.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: And the guy had he fought through everything.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: Kept was stacked against him and somehow he made it through.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, fascinating.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know what made me think of that right now.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: I've also just think that, you know, if you guys know which one we're talking about, DM likes.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: And we want to try to bold those our parents making sure their kids have no sadness, rejection, things like that.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to tell you right now.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like I love my childhood, but I can tell you I can bet on myself on any given day, because it's called the pursuit of happiness.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because I have survived all my hardest days.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: And when we are talking to the uplift teachers about, look, this is the, this is an unproven concept and that I've, I've only done, I've only done one time and you're going to do it now here's what I know you will not fail because I will not fail I know I do not fail that is not a thing I will figure out how to help you succeed because I do not fail and I can say that because my entire life.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: was friction of having to figure out how to survive and figure that thing out.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think that for those of you who are making things very easy for people around you, you are not helping them create muscle.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: Brad talks about this a lot when he coaches and instructors.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: You do need to have stress.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: You do need to be stressed because it develops the muscle which actually stresses the bone which makes your body stronger.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: And so there are going to be crabs in the bucket.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: There are many friends in your life when you're, I'm fucking changing myself.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing this thing.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: Who want to pull you back in, right?
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: She said, real change takes very intentional focus and strategy because we are programmed to stay the same.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: And we are.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: Your program is the same.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's safe.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's safe.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: Well,
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: time as an excuse right she said that the thing she hears from most of her clients that she works with is I just don't have enough time and she said well How is that possible we all have the same time we all the same 24 hours of the day so it's not about Do I have enough time it's where are you prioritizing your time right?
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: She said time is not found time is made.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, in the sense that we're talking about here.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you look at your calendar
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: It'll show you where your priorities are, and the things she sees the most with her clients is they're not on it.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: No, they're not.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone else is and when you come to Cambodia, one of the first things we do is create a dream schedule and you in their first and look, I do want to say I've heard many people say for people who are parents of kids with special needs and things like that they're not the same 24 hours.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I will say,
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: We have two epic teachers on OPC who have kids with special needs and we're talking one of them has severe special needs and I admire how she and her partner and the family and the people who surround them, the community supports.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: her so that she can still go after her dreams.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't love him any less.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's beautiful her love for for this child.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I am so impressed with what she's able to do, but she doesn't do it all herself.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: She does not do it all herself.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone in her life tips him because everyone in her life loves her and her family and themselves and what she is showing her kids is that you can have dreams and you can hit your goals and you can do these things
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you could have other things that are outside of your control.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's so beautiful impresses me.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's so much because I'm wow.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that I would have delegated that way.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what it allows her to do is keep herself on her own calendar.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's so interesting that just think about it that way.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: Are you on your own count?
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's what you need to think about.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: Are you on your own count?
- 18:28[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so what are your top three priorities, right?
- 18:31[SPEAKER_00]: Most people who have children put the kids first.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then if they're a
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't see me in your relationship, your primary relationship, and then it's before it's kids, it's actually work because who is how are you feeling these fucking children?
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'll just say, if you are a parent, you have to listen this episode because if you're Leslie, you've no fucking clue, you are right.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I have some clues because I have friends with kids, but I'm not in your life, but I've really loved her way of saying, if you have a child
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: And they have to take on adult responsibilities.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: And responsibilities are selective as much.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: You're not be selectively responsible.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm adult enough.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'm responsible enough to go the movies with my friends.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_00]: Well, then you're responsible enough to do this washer.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: You're responsible enough.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: And so she really is making her kids take on responsibilities around the house so that she can do the things that help her be her and be
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: Those of us who are Dinks, I need you to think about the Dinks in your life.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: Dinks.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: My parents.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: Dinks are dual income no children.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: Dinks.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: You might be jealous.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_00]: You might be jealous of the Dinks.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: Some people are Dinks because they could not have children.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: Some people are Dinks by choice.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: So I say that's not all Dinks are the selfish people.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I wouldn't say we are selfish.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: We are actually the least selfish because we decided we shouldn't have children.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: That said.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: Your children will be taking care of you and us.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: And I just want you to picture yourself.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: A little bit at a disadvantage.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm, we got friends with four kids.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're in real good.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: But I want to say, when you are older, are you raising these children to be able to take care of it?
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: At least you.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you are going to have to tell them how to fill the dishwasher at 80, not only have you done a disservice to yourself, well, we're not fucking hiring them to take care of us.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: that's true.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: What we want to hire your kids.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: That is the question.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, stick around.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be right back.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: Because we're going to talk about some be it action items that Lacy Newman provided.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: So finally, let's talk about those be it action items.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: What bold, executable intrinsic or targeted action items can we take away from your conversation with Lacy Newman?
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: She said this is the time and energy audit for two weeks right down every single thing you do
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: every single thing you do, use a notes app paper, whatever is works best for you.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, it's held clawed.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: Just fucking, it's held clawed.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, or whatever, anything.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: Just talk, just talk to your phone, log two things for each.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_01]: How long did it take?
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: And whether it gave you energy or it took energy from you.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: So did you get an energy back or did it take your energy?
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: For example, a conversation like this one gives her energy.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: The legal agreement sitting in her inbox drains her.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_01]: So when we said the conversation like this one, meaning conversation she had with Leslie.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, I mean, it gives her energy.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: But the legal agreement her inbox drains her.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: She said step two, name your $10 tasks.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: These are the things that you could pay your 17-year-old daughter, 10 bucks an hour to do.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: And she called out her 17-year-old daughter.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: Specifically, she said, hand off one task at a time, not all of them at once, and prioritize which ones will get your time back.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, if that's not enough, just so you know, in most states minimum wages less than $10, you're child is making a lot of fucking money.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: So that's true.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: She has a time blocking download.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: All you've to do is DM her.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: So it's at hey, Lacey Newman, and just ask her for her time blocking download.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: Listen to the episode.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: But look at the link in the in the show notes.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: What about you?
- 22:19[SPEAKER_00]: She gave five, be it advice?
- 22:22[SPEAKER_01]: She did.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: She did.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: Vision.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: First, she got to carve out the space to have the room to have a vision.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: Which I think is really, really great.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's why when people come on our retreat, they have space to think about it.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_00]: two, she focused.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_00]: She calls it a North Star.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_00]: What is the one thing if you had if you do nothing else today, you will continue to move the business forward.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_00]: This is how I have to do every day.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure you too, Brad, because we're never going to finish everything that's on the day.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: So it's what is the thing that I must get done today.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_00]: Three, get in the room that scares a shit out of you.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: The one you feel like you do not belong in, that's the one you should be in.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: This is when we probably should consider for 2027.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think about it.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, think about it.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I agree, but we can not wish room that is.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: We're trying to think about it right now.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: We have a few ideas.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_00]: who also kind of to say what we're currently doing in our business scares us shut out of me.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know that I need another room.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: I'm already scared shitless.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we also have an entirely new project that we I don't uplift and the studio.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we haven't even.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: We started and paused and we are picking that back up next year.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: And so that one, that one's definitely intense.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll just say those two things scare the fuck out of me.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that I need a fucking shit scary room, too.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I'm already.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: No, I think I mean, look, whether it's 2027 or 2028, there's a room for us to be scared of.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: Goals don't scare the shit out of you, getting a room that scares the shit out of you.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: Stop waiting for permission.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_00]: You don't need anyone else's permission or validation.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: That is true.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: You need to know that.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't ask for anyone's permission on uplift.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'm fucking doing it.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: And you know what happened?
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: I got so many people going, I'm so glad you're doing this.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_00]: God you're doing this.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: This is exactly it.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: So and then five, play to win, do not play to lose because playing to lose looks really responsible, safe and mature.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: It keeps you exactly where you are.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: So does.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: And that's where a lot of people that we coach, they just, they set goals, they can actually achieve.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_00]: This is what actually got me.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: This is one of the exact reasons I quit corporate.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: I remember when they were showing me the goals for the budgets for the next year they were coming up with them.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_00]: This one studio could hit those goals in its sleep.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: Literally we could take the manager out of the space and it would hit it anyways on a bad day, it would hit it.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: And the world they had some obstacles.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: And so we want to make the goals achievable.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: And she isn't hitting her current goals now because she's not even trying.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: And now you're
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: for closing her eyes and doing the worst of what she's doing right now.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: I was I'm fucking out because that is plain to lose is not plain to win and if you really wanted to win you would actually set the goals to be something that is actually a challenge and then we manage her up or we manage her out.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: And so I will just say if you played a win you may not ever hit the actual goal you set for yourself but you will move yourself into a place where you are challenged and you actually can look back and go
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: Brad and I don't ever hit most of our goals, but I can go I was challenged in that and I did the best I could and now I know better So I'm gonna do better on the next one.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's weird to say that, but it's it's kind of true.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: We don't we don't hit any goals
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's because our goals are a little scary.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: They're like ambitious and narrow scary.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: Our next year goal is to double everything.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's true.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's why we're, I just find I don't know that I didn't a room that scared to shut up.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm in the shit scary room right now.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_01]: I just got it.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: I just fell that.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_01]: I must log in.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm Brad Kroll.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: Go prioritize yourself.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, do it.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: Hello.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: Hello.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: If you are needing a little help with that, get on the Cambodia wait list.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: And see some winter tour.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_00]: Take a little double dose for my need you to prioritize yourself.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: Because winter tour is a way to prioritize yourself during the winter of the holiday.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: When everyone around you is a negative fucking Nancy.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_00]: No offense to the Nancy's were listening.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: I have a very fat Nancy in my life.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_00]: No offense, but that's what it's called.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: But those people winter, the holidays can really
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: Fucking make it suck.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_00]: And then we're supposed to go into the new year.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and be so happy after that.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_00]: Can't be around Brad and I wear a breath of fucking fresh air.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we are.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: All right, go.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: If I do say so, I will say so myself.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_00]: I just did.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: Go be it, tell you see it.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: You're amazing.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: Bye for now.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
