- 0:16Speaker 1: Do you know why they call it show business? I
- 0:19Speaker 1: always wonder that. Welcome back to artists on artists on
- 0:27Speaker 1: artists on artists. This week we sit down with the
- 0:30Speaker 1: cast and creators of c w's The Gargoyle Journal, one of.
- 0:36Speaker 4: The hottest new teen dramas to hit the television space.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Gargoyle Journal tells the story of a young girl who
- 0:43Speaker 4: moves to town and finds that the sexy folks around
- 0:46Speaker 4: her happen to be gargoyles.
- 0:49Speaker 5: The CW is a network that all networks look up
- 0:52Speaker 5: to for bringing hot, fresh and likable things to the
- 0:56Speaker 5: teen dramas everywhere.
- 0:58Speaker 2: So get those ears ready and make sure you bring
- 1:02Speaker 2: a little towel because it might get a little sweaty
- 1:03Speaker 2: in there. It's hot. Let's listen in HI.
- 1:08Speaker 1: My name is Stephanie Christford. I am the creator, writer,
- 1:12Speaker 1: showrunner and EP. Gosh, I just do it all of
- 1:16Speaker 1: the cwu's the Gargoyle Journal.
- 1:19Speaker 2: What's up. I'm Chester Church. I play Joe Nava, one
- 1:25Speaker 2: of the students and who's also one of the Gargoyles.
- 1:28Speaker 6: And my name is David Wimbley. I play Father Gargoyle.
- 1:36Speaker 6: His name is Andago and I'm happy.
- 1:40Speaker 7: To be here.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Hey, I'm Randon Maker and I play the one, the
- 1:48Speaker 5: only Jessica.
- 1:51Speaker 1: It's so great to have everybody here to, you know,
- 1:54Speaker 1: finally see our little baby come to life.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, it's and I got to give it up
- 2:01Speaker 2: to you. Stephanie. Thank you for writing this because you
- 2:04Speaker 2: know that's your pen on paper. I don't think we'd
- 2:07Speaker 2: be here probab Stephanie.
- 2:11Speaker 5: There, thank you.
- 2:14Speaker 1: And it's funny you mentioned God because as a woman,
- 2:19Speaker 1: uh raised in a some would call born again Christian cult,
- 2:24Speaker 1: I had a lot a lot of you know, experience
- 2:28Speaker 1: with shame and guilt surrounding sexuality, and so Gargoyle Journal
- 2:35Speaker 1: was really just something I wrote in the darkness as
- 2:38Speaker 1: like a scared teen and so to finally be able
- 2:42Speaker 1: to see you know, some of frankly the hottest teenage
- 2:47Speaker 1: actors I've ever seen. If I can say that portraying
- 2:51Speaker 1: these roles. It's really brought me a lot of peace
- 2:55Speaker 1: and healing.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and I love to hear that. I really love
- 2:59Speaker 2: to hear that, you know, because for me, what a
- 3:01Speaker 2: gargoyle is is bravery. What a gargoyle is is stone,
- 3:08Speaker 2: What a gargoyle is is big teeth, big eyes, and
- 3:13Speaker 2: also what a gargoyle is is brave.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Yes, I'm so glad you feel that way because the
- 3:19Speaker 1: amount of executives who I you know, I said, I
- 3:23Speaker 1: have this vision, I have this vision of these hot,
- 3:27Speaker 1: sensual gargoyles, and they said, no, that's not sexy. Vampires
- 3:32Speaker 1: are sexy, you know, were wolves can be sexy. Gargoyles
- 3:36Speaker 1: aren't sexy. Well, I think take a look at this cast.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I think we can beg to differ, right.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Yes, you know, I have never been called sexy by anyone,
- 3:49Speaker 4: So this has been very exciting to be involved in
- 3:52Speaker 4: the cast and to be included. I've always been cast
- 3:54Speaker 4: as kind of nasty men, and it's really fun to
- 3:59Speaker 4: be fun seen as sexy as the father Cogoyle on Diago.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it was just I would say, it's really fun
- 4:07Speaker 2: to be included in that. And I know, you know,
- 4:09Speaker 2: I'm working really closely with Jessica every day and it's
- 4:11Speaker 2: just been a delight. It's been fantastic. You know, Jessica
- 4:15Speaker 2: played Jessica so well. I'm sorry, her real name is Branda,
- 4:19Speaker 2: but I can only see her as Jessica. You know, Jessica,
- 4:23Speaker 2: you want to jump in or what.
- 4:26Speaker 5: I'm so happy.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I mean, the chemistry between you two is undeniable. We've
- 4:33Speaker 1: gotten a lot of outside feedback that says, you know,
- 4:37Speaker 1: these people were so perfectly cast because they a not
- 4:41Speaker 1: only have this undeniable sexual tension, they also really, really
- 4:48Speaker 1: really look like gargoyles, and that's something not a lot
- 4:51Speaker 1: of people see the sensuality in that. But I was
- 4:56Speaker 1: very clear when we started casting, I want to see
- 5:00Speaker 1: people who look like gargoyles.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Exactly. What did you think when you were like thinking
- 5:05Speaker 2: about that, What what does a gargoyle look like for you?
- 5:10Speaker 1: To me, a gargoyle is packed packed, A gargoyle is dense.
- 5:16Speaker 1: To me, a gargoyle is sturdy. A gargoyle has a
- 5:21Speaker 1: busted face. A gargoyle has.
- 5:24Speaker 2: So you just when we came in and casting, you
- 5:26Speaker 2: thought that's what we looked like.
- 5:28Speaker 4: We just talked about how sexy we were so I'm confused.
- 5:32Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, those.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Are not sexy things. Dense, it is not sexy.
- 5:37Speaker 2: I know, like my skin is gray, pigmented, but I
- 5:40Speaker 2: thought that was more of like a thing I was
- 5:42Speaker 2: working on.
- 5:42Speaker 7: You know.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I don't want to look tan. I want to look gray,
- 5:45Speaker 2: you know.
- 5:46Speaker 1: And that is what makes all of you, you're you're
- 5:50Speaker 1: the dream. Let's be clear. I went, I went through
- 5:55Speaker 1: thousands of the CW's typical roster of people they send
- 6:00Speaker 1: in and they tape for these rolls, and I said, no,
- 6:03Speaker 1: that's a vampire. You're sending me a vampire. Stop sending
- 6:07Speaker 1: me vampires when I want gargoyles. And that was something
- 6:10Speaker 1: I was very firm on. I need a dnse tightly packed,
- 6:16Speaker 1: one ton little guy.
- 6:19Speaker 5: I would.
- 6:21Speaker 7: Just speaking. I haven't heard her speak more than sorry.
- 6:24Speaker 5: I just I'm I'm so shy. I hate these interviews.
- 6:28Speaker 5: I'm one of those actresses that doesn't like to talk.
- 6:33Speaker 5: It was crazy because my wraps sent me the part
- 6:39Speaker 5: right after I had been the cover of teen Vogue,
- 6:42Speaker 5: and I know they're filming this interview I did. I
- 6:46Speaker 5: was in an oscar deal rent to dress and I
- 6:48Speaker 5: was sitting like this crouchy with both my knees up
- 6:53Speaker 5: and that's gargoyle.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Yes, like that and meek smile.
- 6:59Speaker 5: Yeah, Mathiasca de la rented dress. Yes, And it's just
- 7:03Speaker 5: funny because this is the way I normally sit. And
- 7:06Speaker 5: my reps called me and they were like, the cover
- 7:09Speaker 5: is amazing. We also have the perfect role for you.
- 7:14Speaker 5: And if you were going to tell me it was gargoyles,
- 7:17Speaker 5: I would have cried and been like, this can't be
- 7:19Speaker 5: my big break to be a female gargoyle.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I mean, And that's the thing. There are very few
- 7:28Speaker 1: female gargoyles out there, and so that was something I
- 7:31Speaker 1: really wanted to do, not just for me, but for women.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I wanted to give women a gift, and that is
- 7:39Speaker 1: the representation of female gargoyles on screen. And you know,
- 7:44Speaker 1: I gotta say, Miranda, you absolutely nailed it. The second
- 7:48Speaker 1: you crouched in that audition tape, I knew, I knew
- 7:52Speaker 1: it was you.
- 7:53Speaker 4: And that's just how I like to say, to say
- 7:56Speaker 4: that the amount of cloth set chairs that you busted
- 8:00Speaker 4: through because you crouched with your feet on those chairs,
- 8:03Speaker 4: those directors style chairs, the way you would bust them
- 8:06Speaker 4: and they'd fold in it was.
- 8:08Speaker 3: It was a lot to watch for the way I sit.
- 8:12Speaker 4: I feel like you went through three just during one
- 8:14Speaker 4: scene that I was shooting, because the noise.
- 8:16Speaker 7: Was loud, and it took.
- 8:17Speaker 4: A lot to each time.
- 8:20Speaker 5: Each time I thought I'd be like, oh God, and
- 8:23Speaker 5: I just.
- 8:24Speaker 4: Helped you so much and gave you another chair for
- 8:26Speaker 4: you to break. Everyone always no one told you to
- 8:29Speaker 4: not do that.
- 8:31Speaker 2: It was great.
- 8:32Speaker 5: It just it makes my ass look better when it
- 8:34Speaker 5: was like that.
- 8:36Speaker 1: So yeah, I got into a ton of you know,
- 8:39Speaker 1: I was talking to the production manager all the time, saying,
- 8:42Speaker 1: We've got to get these gargoyles some stone chairs. They
- 8:45Speaker 1: we can't keep going through these. I mean, this is ridiculous.
- 8:49Speaker 7: And I'm gonna be honest. I'm gonna be honest.
- 8:51Speaker 4: I'm glad we didn't go with that either.
- 8:53Speaker 2: For the record, I'm glad we For the record, for me,
- 8:56Speaker 2: I'm glad we had just regular chairs.
- 8:57Speaker 4: I wish we were going to a rock situation with
- 8:59Speaker 4: the chairs stones.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I wish stones, Thank you, Miranda. I wish we had stones.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And I know it's acting isn't comfortable. I don't believe
- 9:08Speaker 1: that acting should be comfortable, you know, I think should
- 9:11Speaker 1: be about the character, but agree to disagree anyway.
- 9:15Speaker 5: It's just it's it's honoring to have every female written
- 9:19Speaker 5: for our screen, and I think the CW does that.
- 9:22Speaker 5: We're getting to see females be hungry and nasty for blood,
- 9:26Speaker 5: and we get to see females crouch and sit like
- 9:30Speaker 5: a freaking weirdo.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Like me, because that's kind of the fun thing. It's like,
- 9:35Speaker 2: this school has a ton of hot people, and they're
- 9:38Speaker 2: the hot people are the gargoyles. And when Jessica or
- 9:42Speaker 2: Miranda's character Jessica comes into the school, you know, she's quirky,
- 9:46Speaker 2: she's not the usual hot person, but she's still really hot,
- 9:50Speaker 2: you know. Like I think, objectively we can, I.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Mean, but I think I speak for myself and the
- 9:55Speaker 1: CW network. We would never cast an uggo.
- 9:58Speaker 2: No, definitely, yes, I'll hear that.
- 10:01Speaker 7: I'd love to hear when you guys say that.
- 10:03Speaker 4: Really it's nice for me.
- 10:04Speaker 5: To hear, and I think it's good for Hollywood to hear.
- 10:07Speaker 5: Can you elaborate like.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Well, because I want to also just jump in and
- 10:10Speaker 2: cut off Stephanie here purposefully and say.
- 10:13Speaker 1: That thank you.
- 10:16Speaker 5: And thank you.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Well, it's just I will say I've been in this Yeah,
- 10:22Speaker 2: no problem anytime. Like my one of my favorite things
- 10:26Speaker 2: to do is, you know, make a stand like this, Stephanie, Sorry,
- 10:30Speaker 2: did you want to go? I'll go?
- 10:32Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 10:37Speaker 2: This industry has been tough for hot men, hot white men, specifically,
- 10:44Speaker 2: Like I've been in this industry for four years and
- 10:47Speaker 2: when I started, it was completely different. I'm I'm a
- 10:51Speaker 2: good looking guy. I can book, I could get out there, book, book, book.
- 10:54Speaker 2: You know, I've done my series regulars before, I've done
- 10:57Speaker 2: my pilots before, and then about two years in it
- 11:02Speaker 2: started drying up, and I thought, it's not me. It's
- 11:06Speaker 2: just it can't be me. So I thought they're probably
- 11:09Speaker 2: stopped trying to cast hot people. So you guys making
- 11:13Speaker 2: the statement CW to only ever cast hot people. I'm
- 11:17Speaker 2: behind you one percent. I'm behind you one.
- 11:21Speaker 4: One thing I would like to bring up that I
- 11:23Speaker 4: thought was incredible. Are we allowed to give away much
- 11:26Speaker 4: of the plot of the pilot of the First Team?
- 11:28Speaker 2: I think so.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I think that. I think that if you haven't seen
- 11:31Speaker 1: the pilot, I mean, you're missing out.
- 11:33Speaker 3: That's on you to watch.
- 11:34Speaker 7: Well, well, we'll talk about it.
- 11:35Speaker 4: There's a very incredible scene when Jessica, you know, finally
- 11:41Speaker 4: does come in with the gargoyles.
- 11:43Speaker 7: Of the high school and there is the.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Transformation in which they turn her into a gargoyle. And
- 11:49Speaker 4: I thought the scene was in one word.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Frightening amazing, and also that they did it in the pilot.
- 11:56Speaker 2: You'd think that'd be a whole series arc. It was,
- 11:59Speaker 2: but instead it was pushed it to the top.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Yeah, the middle twenty five minutes. It was a lot,
- 12:04Speaker 4: and we got to it fast. And it's a forty
- 12:06Speaker 4: three minute episode, so.
- 12:07Speaker 2: She's brand new to the show. In twenty five minutes
- 12:09Speaker 2: in she's a gargoyle. Yeah, immediately.
- 12:11Speaker 5: I think it's so important that you establish it fast,
- 12:14Speaker 5: and that probably happens.
- 12:15Speaker 4: Let's get to it.
- 12:16Speaker 1: We've on the series not to name names Twilight. Well,
- 12:21Speaker 1: tease that out to hate hate it, hate hate it.
- 12:27Speaker 1: My inner gargoyle just comes out about Twilight and how
- 12:30Speaker 1: fucked that is. Stephanie, will it killing it?
- 12:34Speaker 2: Name it and hate it, name it, hate it, Gargoyle Journal.
- 12:38Speaker 7: We like that one.
- 12:40Speaker 2: That's good.
- 12:40Speaker 1: We do like that one. That's the one that we made. Okay, anyway,
- 12:43Speaker 1: I would love to show that scene really quickly because
- 12:46Speaker 1: I think that's sort of what this whole series is about.
- 12:49Speaker 1: So this is when this is twenty three minutes into
- 12:51Speaker 1: the pilot, when Jessica becomes a gargoyle.
- 12:56Speaker 7: No jes.
- 12:58Speaker 8: The process is, I don't feel well, father, gargo, I
- 13:05Speaker 8: don't feel well.
- 13:06Speaker 6: We're feeling your body with submit.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Father.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Do you think this is all right? Do you think
- 13:11Speaker 2: she's ready?
- 13:12Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 13:13Speaker 2: She just got to the school just a day ago.
- 13:17Speaker 5: I don't care how long I've been in this town
- 13:19Speaker 5: or been in this school. I am ready, father, I'm ready.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Throw me in there.
- 13:24Speaker 7: We feel her with cement. Well, let the dragon wings emerge.
- 13:28Speaker 7: If she is true of gargoyle, the simon confuse with
- 13:31Speaker 7: the skin and the wings will become flappable.
- 13:34Speaker 8: Ra I am a gargoyo, Jessica, I'm the hot prom
- 13:45Speaker 8: king gargoy, and I would wonder if you want.
- 13:49Speaker 1: To have sex with me?
- 13:51Speaker 5: You are also a gargoyle.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Is the school full of them?
- 13:57Speaker 5: Yes?
- 13:57Speaker 1: We wanted to get into it right away.
- 13:59Speaker 4: Yes, I love that.
- 14:00Speaker 5: I seen so much. I seemed so sweet.
- 14:01Speaker 2: And it's kind of fun because that the gargol that
- 14:04Speaker 2: just comes in right at the end there sets up
- 14:06Speaker 2: kind of what the season's about, which is prompt? Yes?
- 14:09Speaker 2: And where if Jessica's going to go to prom, who
- 14:12Speaker 2: She's going to go to prom with? You know, because
- 14:15Speaker 2: my character Jonava, you know, he is kind of an outcast.
- 14:21Speaker 2: He's like kind of like I know that Gargol said
- 14:24Speaker 2: he was the bad boy, but I just always thought
- 14:26Speaker 2: Jonava was the bad boy because he's kind of an outcast,
- 14:28Speaker 2: you know, Miranda.
- 14:30Speaker 7: Oh, sorry, Stephanie. I was wondering.
- 14:32Speaker 4: I wanted to ask you something I've I've always been
- 14:35Speaker 4: wondering this. Why did you have such incredibly creatively named characters.
- 14:40Speaker 7: Like Jonava and Andiago?
- 14:42Speaker 4: And then you know that character that came in right
- 14:44Speaker 4: at the end of the second act of the pilot
- 14:47Speaker 4: was named hot Gargoyle prom king why did you make
- 14:50Speaker 4: that choy?
- 14:51Speaker 5: So, yes, that was the breakdown, but that's the role name.
- 14:56Speaker 1: No, that was the name that.
- 14:57Speaker 7: Yeah, the breakdown said Jeremy.
- 15:00Speaker 1: It goes back. Yes, the breakdown was Jeremy, but that
- 15:04Speaker 1: was just code name because you don't want to give
- 15:06Speaker 1: away all your secrets. You know, you have every actor
- 15:08Speaker 1: in town when you're doing a big cattle call for
- 15:11Speaker 1: hot Gargoyles, and you don't want to give it all away.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that was crazy because I almost went out for
- 15:16Speaker 2: that and it did. I just got a breakdown. Usually
- 15:19Speaker 2: you get like like quirky or hot. This this all
- 15:22Speaker 2: it said was break Jeremy hard people.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You're really trying to attract Jeremies to the role. But
- 15:29Speaker 1: then to go back to the naming hot Gargoyle prom king,
- 15:34Speaker 1: it goes back to Comedia del arte. Right, we're talking stereotypes.
- 15:38Speaker 1: We're talking archetypes. We're talking people who just are what
- 15:42Speaker 1: they are. We're talking recognizable tropes. We all know the
- 15:45Speaker 1: stereotypes surrounding hot Gargoyle prom kings, right. I mean they're ladies, men,
- 15:50Speaker 1: they're they're they're football players. They're jerky, full of cement,
- 15:55Speaker 1: and they love jerky at night.
- 15:57Speaker 2: They eat women and protect church.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Yes, and they all have some sort of epiglottal disorder.
- 16:04Speaker 1: They gurgle so intensely in the night.
- 16:07Speaker 4: This brings me to another question. I wanted to know
- 16:09Speaker 4: where you got all of your gargoyle research and and
- 16:12Speaker 4: what specific type of law are you're using for this
- 16:15Speaker 4: television ship.
- 16:16Speaker 5: Or I have another just to piggyback off of that,
- 16:20Speaker 5: What gives you the right to tell the story of
- 16:21Speaker 5: the Gargoyle.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Okay, I mean fair question, Miranda, I will be honest.
- 16:31Speaker 5: I am well, did that come across accusatory?
- 16:36Speaker 2: And I hate to cut both of you off, but
- 16:38Speaker 2: I'm going.
- 16:39Speaker 7: To please do, please do.
- 16:40Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Of course, I think real art an artist should be
- 16:46Speaker 2: able to talk about whatever they want. They should be
- 16:50Speaker 2: able to write whatever they want. If Stephanie wants to
- 16:54Speaker 2: write about gargoyles, that's great. If I want to write
- 16:59Speaker 2: about I don't know indigenous people in Australia, that's great too.
- 17:04Speaker 2: And maybe my pilot should have been picked up.
- 17:07Speaker 7: Yeah, Big Red Rock, are you talking about that one?
- 17:09Speaker 2: Yeah? You read it? Thank you for reading it.
- 17:11Speaker 7: I did read that.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Yes, that had a reputation as being pretty extensively offensive
- 17:18Speaker 1: to everyone involved.
- 17:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and I didn't see it, but I got a
- 17:22Speaker 2: lot of feedback, and usually with feedback I just say no.
- 17:25Speaker 5: I got the SAG don't work email for Big Red.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Rock, and it was still in the script phase when
- 17:31Speaker 4: that went around, which was kind of wild.
- 17:33Speaker 2: It was I wrote a first draft, I was setting
- 17:35Speaker 2: it up for notes, I was saying no to all
- 17:37Speaker 2: the notes, and SAG sent that email and I was
- 17:40Speaker 2: just dead in the water. There is no.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Recovery attached to this.
- 17:43Speaker 1: This script is not in development, but we want to
- 17:46Speaker 1: make sure then nobody goes anywhere near this and it hurts.
- 17:51Speaker 5: Those films are helpful as an actor, and that's why
- 17:54Speaker 5: I pay my dues.
- 17:55Speaker 4: I've been working on every single one. I've been working
- 17:57Speaker 4: on every single one of those projects when those emails
- 18:00Speaker 4: go out, so he will.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Pick every sag doll you're accidentally accidentally.
- 18:07Speaker 7: This is a little bit of my lot in life.
- 18:08Speaker 4: I'm so excited to be on Goggle of the Journal
- 18:10Speaker 4: because I've been on so many what I would call
- 18:12Speaker 4: scam productions. I have been tricked so many times. It
- 18:18Speaker 4: has been frightening. I yes, so many?
- 18:24Speaker 5: Is that like me?
- 18:25Speaker 4: Twenty so many meaning twenty yes. It is frightening the
- 18:32Speaker 4: amount of things that I've been subjected to. And I've
- 18:34Speaker 4: been told these projects are Union, and then I get
- 18:37Speaker 4: there and they say Union spelled y oh oh in,
- 18:41Speaker 4: I oh in, And I say, what is Union?
- 18:44Speaker 2: That's an onion exactly.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Oh, that's that's Richard Union's club of He's that famous
- 18:53Speaker 1: con artist slash director who who makes these projects. And
- 18:57Speaker 1: he tells them, well, that's a Union project.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Yes, And it's kind of like this uh Scooby Doo
- 19:02Speaker 2: thing where once Sag finds out, he goes whoa found
- 19:06Speaker 2: out again?
- 19:06Speaker 4: And the Rascal of North Hollywood is what we call him,
- 19:10Speaker 4: and Chatsworth.
- 19:11Speaker 3: He is a nightmare with every project.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Do you just like like open your email waiting for
- 19:15Speaker 5: the call sheet and then you get a SAG do
- 19:17Speaker 5: not work email?
- 19:18Speaker 4: And then sometimes I'm on set, sometimes I'm midline, sometimes
- 19:24Speaker 4: literally the emails are coming and all of the sudden,
- 19:26Speaker 4: oh I shouldn't be there, you know, And they said,
- 19:28Speaker 4: where are you going? And I get out in the
- 19:30Speaker 4: craziest ways, but I always get out.
- 19:32Speaker 5: It is I love our Union.
- 19:34Speaker 4: I love our Union. I don't love Richard Union. And
- 19:37Speaker 4: I want to make that clear. Richard Union is a
- 19:39Speaker 4: scam artist.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Someone has to arrest that man. I think we can
- 19:42Speaker 1: all agree that Richard Union needs to be arrested.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Catch him. They just can't catch him.
- 19:49Speaker 1: He has so many wigs that they cannot.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Catch him, so many wigs, and he wears him on
- 19:53Speaker 4: his wrists so you can't even slap handcuffs.
- 19:57Speaker 5: Because his wrists are so slippery.
- 20:00Speaker 4: The slippery withthetic wig, greasy wig, greasy wigs Wigson.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I would actually like to jump to one of my
- 20:08Speaker 2: favorite scenes of the pilot. This is kind of the
- 20:11Speaker 2: scene where myself and Miranda's character meet, and I really
- 20:17Speaker 2: really loved it because I felt like, I don't know
- 20:21Speaker 2: what kind of you get what the show is about immediately, yes.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Yes, and well because she becomes the gargoyle at minute
- 20:29Speaker 1: twenty three, right, and so we really get right out
- 20:33Speaker 1: ahead of this very quickly. I believe in a quick
- 20:36Speaker 1: and fast pilot. I believe in a season one condensed
- 20:39Speaker 1: into the pilot, and then the rest of season one
- 20:41Speaker 1: could be season two.
- 20:42Speaker 3: If that makes me.
- 20:43Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I remember when I screen tested for
- 20:46Speaker 5: this rule. I remember the head of c W told
- 20:48Speaker 5: me that the that the CW shows aren't about the
- 20:54Speaker 5: fabric in which these characters are made in the climax
- 20:57Speaker 5: is the love triangle. So it's actually like, when you
- 20:59Speaker 5: think about it, like not about gargoyles. It's just about
- 21:02Speaker 5: three people fighting for love.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Would you say that, Stephanie, that it's not about gargoyles.
- 21:09Speaker 2: I'll cut her off again. It definitely is thank about gargoyles.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I'm making a choice to cut you off because they
- 21:18Speaker 2: don't trust what you're gonna say. It's about gargoyles, you know,
- 21:21Speaker 2: it's about gargos and the gargoyles journal I.
- 21:24Speaker 5: Think I misspoke because I'm not used to speaking on
- 21:26Speaker 5: my own. I think it is about gargoyles, But like,
- 21:30Speaker 5: what's really what the whole season is is about a
- 21:32Speaker 5: love triangle.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I would say that for me, the show is about gargoyles.
- 21:38Speaker 1: But in my mind, gargoyles are the purest form of love.
- 21:42Speaker 1: There is there is no being on earth that loves
- 21:45Speaker 1: like a gargoyle. And that is why, going back to
- 21:49Speaker 1: what you were so aggressively asking me earlier, Miranda, I
- 21:55Speaker 1: believe I have the right to write about gargoyles because
- 21:57Speaker 1: I'm someone who's fallen in love. I am a woman
- 22:00Speaker 1: in love. He plays the tin man on Hollywood Boulevard,
- 22:05Speaker 1: and I have fallen head over heels in love with him.
- 22:08Speaker 2: His name is. I was wondering who that was on
- 22:12Speaker 2: set all that time, walking around very loudly, interrupting all
- 22:15Speaker 2: the shots to constantly stop because we heard all.
- 22:19Speaker 3: This clean, clean clan clingin hitting tis.
- 22:23Speaker 7: Does he ever take that costume off?
- 22:25Speaker 4: And my second answer, my second question after you answered
- 22:27Speaker 4: no is why doesn't he?
- 22:30Speaker 5: I hope you have a second answer as well.
- 22:32Speaker 4: As a second answer, give us two answers and then
- 22:35Speaker 4: and then and then and then answered the second question
- 22:37Speaker 4: as well.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Thank you. So I have two answers for the first question.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Uh.
- 22:42Speaker 1: The two answers for the first question are no and
- 22:45Speaker 1: no way. He never takes it off. And to your
- 22:49Speaker 1: follow up question, why doesn't he? He is very religious?
- 22:54Speaker 7: Okay, another question I had about the goggles, and then
- 22:57Speaker 7: we have to get to this scene.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I was just did we just not want to
- 23:01Speaker 2: see it?
- 23:01Speaker 7: Or well a question about it? I think this could.
- 23:03Speaker 3: I would love to see it, would love to see it.
- 23:05Speaker 4: Gargoyles are mostly associated with churches, correct, and on churches
- 23:11Speaker 4: and Gothic buildings. I noticed there aren't any outward religious
- 23:17Speaker 4: tones or any references. And even there's a scene where
- 23:23Speaker 4: my character on the ogo is walking past the church
- 23:25Speaker 4: and someone looks and says, don't look at that. We're
- 23:27Speaker 4: not talking about that. We're not talking about that right now.
- 23:29Speaker 4: We're not talking about that right now.
- 23:31Speaker 3: It's played for laughs. It's played for laughs.
- 23:33Speaker 7: Oh, we're not talking about that right now.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I do think it's very well because that was a
- 23:38Speaker 1: major note I got on the script from many different people.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Is so these gargoyles. Gargoyles are attached to buildings inherently, right,
- 23:47Speaker 1: But these gargoyles aren't attached to anything. They don't ever
- 23:52Speaker 1: like By definition, a gargoyle isn't like a real thing.
- 23:56Speaker 1: It's not like a specific creature that exists. It is
- 23:59Speaker 1: when creature is attached to the building and they're made
- 24:02Speaker 1: of stone, that's a gargoyle. But these hot kids are
- 24:05Speaker 1: running around without any buildings on them, and I had
- 24:09Speaker 1: to tell them, you know, that's because you don't have
- 24:12Speaker 1: any imagination. The kids, these hot gargoyle kids are carrying
- 24:17Speaker 1: the world on their backs. That's the biggest building.
- 24:20Speaker 3: There is, studios.
- 24:23Speaker 7: They're idiots.
- 24:23Speaker 1: They don't get it. They don't get it. They don't
- 24:26Speaker 1: get it. And you know, I'm very happy. They have
- 24:28Speaker 1: given me a lot of creative freedom, really for no reason.
- 24:32Speaker 5: A lot, not even a gargoyle.
- 24:34Speaker 1: And you wrote about it, Miranda, Easy, okay, Miranda, Miranda, No,
- 24:39Speaker 1: we should we should air this now, we should air
- 24:41Speaker 1: this now.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I just confirming nobody wanted to see my scene.
- 24:44Speaker 7: I want to see the clip.
- 24:45Speaker 3: I want to see the fine let's air it out
- 24:47Speaker 3: first at least.
- 24:48Speaker 5: No, no, I think we should see the scene.
- 24:51Speaker 2: No, it's fine. Well no, no, no, no, no, no, we're gonna
- 24:53Speaker 2: get I'm cutting you off.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Miranda, Miranda, I want to know why this hurts for
- 25:00Speaker 1: you because I want to heal this. I want to
- 25:02Speaker 1: heal this by the time season two is rolling around.
- 25:04Speaker 1: I need to heal this before prere.
- 25:06Speaker 4: Got to get there, before season two is rolling around.
- 25:08Speaker 2: We have to. We don't even know if we're confirmed,
- 25:10Speaker 2: but we're all assuming.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Once it starts rolling around, you never know what's going
- 25:13Speaker 4: on this show.
- 25:13Speaker 1: They'd be they'd be fucking fools.
- 25:16Speaker 5: No, it's a that's a good showrunner and lead like
- 25:19Speaker 5: head writer to talk about things before the show the
- 25:22Speaker 5: season two rolls around, because you have to do things
- 25:24Speaker 5: before they roll around. I just care about story authority
- 25:29Speaker 5: and who has the authority to tell them And sometimes
- 25:32Speaker 5: I feel like being in love with a tin man
- 25:35Speaker 5: on Hollywood Boulevard has nothing to do with Gargoyle.
- 25:38Speaker 1: General Miranda, thank you for saying that. And now I
- 25:43Speaker 1: pausit this question, which I'm not I'm not sure if
- 25:47Speaker 1: I'm allowed to say, as your boss, are you a gargoyle.
- 25:52Speaker 1: And if you don't want to talk about this, we
- 25:54Speaker 1: can we can cut this out. But I just want
- 25:56Speaker 1: to ask, you know, do you have the authority to
- 25:58Speaker 1: challenge me on this?
- 26:01Speaker 5: I don't want to answer that question.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Okay, let's see the clip.
- 26:07Speaker 2: So you're new in town. Yeah, right, there's the library,
- 26:14Speaker 2: that's Fountain Hall, that's the Performing Arts Center, and right
- 26:19Speaker 2: here I am performing arts.
- 26:23Speaker 5: Do you do that?
- 26:24Speaker 4: Hm?
- 26:25Speaker 2: I guess you could say, but not here.
- 26:29Speaker 5: Where?
- 26:31Speaker 7: Look?
- 26:31Speaker 2: Outside of school, a couple of us hang out. Maybe
- 26:34Speaker 2: you should join.
- 26:36Speaker 5: Oh at I have math homework and I love math.
- 26:40Speaker 5: I'm a geek like that.
- 26:41Speaker 2: So yeah, you fucking are aren't you? Excuse me? You're
- 26:47Speaker 2: fucking geek too scared? You probably came from some big
- 26:51Speaker 2: city school and now you want to join our group. Yeah,
- 26:55Speaker 2: don't my gosh, what's happening?
- 26:57Speaker 5: Sorry, sometimes when I look a little weird.
- 27:03Speaker 2: All right, meet us after school Dad's house. You're gonna
- 27:07Speaker 2: become a gargoyle. Thanks for letting me show that clip.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Guys that that I felt like I really acted my
- 27:13Speaker 2: ass off there and I looking back, I didn't realize. Yeah,
- 27:18Speaker 2: you're just gonna say this out loud. Miranda you might
- 27:21Speaker 2: be a gargoyle. You were making some choices in that
- 27:24Speaker 2: scene that seemed like maybe, I don't know you're a
- 27:28Speaker 2: legitimate gargoyle.
- 27:29Speaker 4: And to be technically clear, you were not yet a
- 27:33Speaker 4: gargoyle in the show. Mm hmmm, so you were supposed
- 27:36Speaker 4: to be playing non gargoyle.
- 27:37Speaker 2: You could hear me say kill that line when I said,
- 27:40Speaker 2: right at the end, I said, let's go, We're gonna
- 27:42Speaker 2: turn you into a gargoyle.
- 27:44Speaker 5: I don't, I don't know. I only do what I'm told.
- 27:46Speaker 5: On said, I don't.
- 27:47Speaker 4: Really, I was screaming crouch a lot.
- 27:52Speaker 5: Yeah, And I was probably listening to the director. We didn't,
- 27:55Speaker 5: didn't Billy Crystal's son direct this episode.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Yeah, Whitney Crystal.
- 28:00Speaker 5: Whitney Crystal.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, Whitney Crystal. I remember his crystal demanding visionary.
- 28:05Speaker 5: I remember he was really demanding.
- 28:07Speaker 2: So I was probably just demanding.
- 28:08Speaker 5: I probably was just listening to what he had to
- 28:10Speaker 5: say and nothing else besides me.
- 28:12Speaker 2: But I also now I'm remembering every time we shot,
- 28:15Speaker 2: you couldn't do night shoots, and then when sunset rolled around,
- 28:18Speaker 2: you said, sorry, I have to go, And then I
- 28:20Speaker 2: followed you one time and you just walked into that
- 28:22Speaker 2: church walked.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Yeah, anytime we walked by a church, you would sort
- 28:27Speaker 1: of go oh no, and then you'd look away, and
- 28:30Speaker 1: then I'd look back, and then there'd be a sort
- 28:32Speaker 1: of gargoyle that I didn't recognize, like some sort of
- 28:35Speaker 1: lion bust that I wasn't quite sure was there before.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I also remember like some people were protesting outside of
- 28:42Speaker 2: the church and you went, Haywall. You were screaming like,
- 28:45Speaker 2: I have to protect it. You don't understand. I have
- 28:48Speaker 2: to protect it. This is my duty, this is my honor,
- 28:50Speaker 2: this is my duty.
- 28:52Speaker 4: There was also a time at catering when you were
- 28:55Speaker 4: eating a burrito and you, instead of the way normal
- 28:58Speaker 4: people eat burritos, which is a cylinder in, you ripped
- 29:02Speaker 4: the middle of the brittle open and then you're back
- 29:05Speaker 4: arched and you had these huge teeth and you were
- 29:07Speaker 4: just digging with your hands eating the burrito.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Oh when there was that moment where you asked Crafty
- 29:12Speaker 1: if they had any more concrete, and then the Crafty
- 29:15Speaker 1: person said what, and then you said never mind and
- 29:18Speaker 1: you ran away.
- 29:19Speaker 4: And then I was there at Crafty once and you said,
- 29:21Speaker 4: do you have any bibles?
- 29:24Speaker 5: Okay? Should I go in order, or I guess I'll.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Just order do it exactly at order, do you that'd
- 29:31Speaker 2: be great if you could just start from the top.
- 29:38Speaker 5: Number one, I was following direction from Whitney Crystal, Billy
- 29:40Speaker 5: Crystal's son, who was directing that episode. Number two.
- 29:45Speaker 2: What was Number two?
- 29:47Speaker 5: I every time you guys see a church, I run
- 29:49Speaker 5: into it. Yes, I was raised Catholic and I'm trying
- 29:53Speaker 5: to let that go. But still when I do see
- 29:56Speaker 5: a church, I go to that confessional booth. I'm Number three.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Was catering first, Yes, three catering questions.
- 30:06Speaker 5: The thing they don't tell you about tacos to madre
- 30:11Speaker 5: is all of the meat is in the middle of
- 30:13Speaker 5: the burrito, and I don't like I get really full sometimes,
- 30:17Speaker 5: so I actually go in the middle so I can
- 30:19Speaker 5: get the meat and get out. Number two. I've never
- 30:22Speaker 5: asked for concrete ever before. I think maybe I was
- 30:25Speaker 5: just asking for a green juice and you miss have
- 30:27Speaker 5: heard it.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Okay, green juice concrete those sound like very different. I
- 30:33Speaker 1: have maybe if I maybe if I said it quickly, grangeruice, granger.
- 30:38Speaker 5: Maybe I was asking for con meat with meat, meat.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Meat, green juice or corne meat like you're ordering in Spanish,
- 30:52Speaker 1: but only the cold.
- 30:53Speaker 4: Do you drink a green juice and put meat in it?
- 30:56Speaker 5: Corn meat? Sometimes they do.
- 30:57Speaker 7: That juice meat.
- 31:00Speaker 2: I will say, though, ordering green juice of putting meat,
- 31:02Speaker 2: and it does sound like you're a gargot. Again, I'll
- 31:04Speaker 2: just say that I feel like I would assume that's
- 31:07Speaker 2: what gargoyles eat.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Why did you choose? Why do you choose with to
- 31:12Speaker 4: be the only Spanish word? You say green juice?
- 31:15Speaker 7: Calln meat.
- 31:16Speaker 5: Sometimes I'm like, I need to go to l bathroom.
- 31:20Speaker 5: I like to so you only you like Sanish.
- 31:23Speaker 1: I love the articles of Spanish, but just for the
- 31:27Speaker 1: and and and.
- 31:28Speaker 5: Yeah, and that's and that's an easy way to speak
- 31:31Speaker 5: Spanish and not exclude English.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Speakers, just without any nouns. Yeah, it's an easy way
- 31:37Speaker 1: to speak Spanish if you don't learn the nouns.
- 31:39Speaker 5: I'm feeling pretty fucking ganged up on.
- 31:45Speaker 2: I'm feeling I'm sorry, you've got some things popping out
- 31:50Speaker 2: of your back just a little bit.
- 31:51Speaker 5: I'm feeling I'm just gonna relax.
- 31:56Speaker 2: No, let it out, I love it. Let it out.
- 32:01Speaker 5: Okay, Now it's the perfect time to change the subject.
- 32:03Speaker 5: And finally, talk about how awful Chester is as a person.
- 32:06Speaker 5: He never.
- 32:09Speaker 3: What.
- 32:13Speaker 1: We're still trying to get a season two? Might I
- 32:16Speaker 1: add when that rolls.
- 32:17Speaker 3: Around that airs, this is our press, folks.
- 32:23Speaker 7: We have to get this one. We have to get
- 32:25Speaker 7: a season two.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Wait, why am I a bad person? Everybody thinks we
- 32:30Speaker 3: don't have to it.
- 32:31Speaker 2: No, I want to talk about it. You guys didn't
- 32:33Speaker 2: like my rap, my set raps I don't love. And
- 32:38Speaker 2: I thought it was fun, you know. It was kind
- 32:39Speaker 2: of like a bully rap. It was like a fun
- 32:43Speaker 2: rap that I would do.
- 32:44Speaker 7: You know.
- 32:44Speaker 2: I'd be like, oh, like Jerry, really nice guy, really
- 32:47Speaker 2: nice actor, But yeah, I would rap about him Jerry,
- 32:50Speaker 2: Jerry kind of hairy, looks like his wife cheats on
- 32:54Speaker 2: him every night? Why did he get married? And I
- 32:57Speaker 2: just have the flow, you know, I just have the
- 32:59Speaker 2: flows times. And yeah, Jerry Lake kind of quit.
- 33:03Speaker 7: Lots of crew members quit.
- 33:05Speaker 4: I would like to say that because because there was
- 33:08Speaker 4: somebody that I got to know, several of them. You
- 33:12Speaker 4: always did weird specifically kind of obsessive raps about you.
- 33:17Speaker 4: Dosessive obsessive raps about the best boys. And you say
- 33:20Speaker 4: he's he's my best boy. He's a reddal bad bitch.
- 33:23Speaker 7: You know.
- 33:23Speaker 9: It was really it's yes, I know we would go
- 33:28Speaker 9: way back, but it was it was David, Yes, Yeah,
- 33:32Speaker 9: Dojah and I were on a couple of Richard Union
- 33:34Speaker 9: shoots and I'm really proud of her forgetting out of
- 33:36Speaker 9: it because she was one of his favorites.
- 33:40Speaker 4: All sorts of projects and and awful awful stuff, and
- 33:44Speaker 4: we kind of worked in the trenches together, but it
- 33:47Speaker 4: was difficult for you to You were just kind of
- 33:50Speaker 4: obsessive over this best boy. The first one was Neil,
- 33:53Speaker 4: and then it was.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Neil, he's my best boy. Yeah, he's a real bad bitch.
- 33:58Speaker 2: He's real bad bitch.
- 34:00Speaker 7: It was weird.
- 34:00Speaker 5: It was that's just straight up, Doja.
- 34:02Speaker 4: It was well, I don't care about the copyright infringement.
- 34:05Speaker 4: The big problem for me was it was uncomfortable. He
- 34:08Speaker 4: was trying to work and you just kept talking about him,
- 34:11Speaker 4: and you learned things about him and look him up
- 34:13Speaker 4: on social media and stuff like that, and it was
- 34:15Speaker 4: uncomfortable for everyone. You kind of fixated on.
- 34:20Speaker 5: Okay, I'm really glad you brought that up, David.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Thank you. Yeah, anybody else got any concerns or anger
- 34:26Speaker 2: at me? That they didn't tell me.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Well, I'm trying to get a season two me too,
- 34:33Speaker 1: me too. I will say I needed to roll around.
- 34:38Speaker 1: I needed to roll around because personally I am in
- 34:41Speaker 1: a lot of horse racing debt, and so I really
- 34:46Speaker 1: really really needed to roll around.
- 34:50Speaker 2: See, your boyfriend is tin Man on Hollywood Boulevard and
- 34:53Speaker 2: you're in a lot of horse racing. By the way,
- 34:58Speaker 2: how did you get in here?
- 35:00Speaker 3: Did you just get into the show.
- 35:02Speaker 5: Tell other people's stories that aren't yours and to just
- 35:04Speaker 5: like make ship up, make up. You guys were danging
- 35:09Speaker 5: up on her.
- 35:09Speaker 4: Too, looking up on her for her life choices, not
- 35:14Speaker 4: in her creative choices.
- 35:15Speaker 5: I just don't understand who gives you the fucking.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Teeth came out? Your eyes sort of got very yellow
- 35:25Speaker 1: for a moment and then retracted. Listen, I broke into
- 35:29Speaker 1: the industry the same way anyone breaks into the industry.
- 35:33Speaker 1: My tin Man boyfriend and I were at the gambling races,
- 35:37Speaker 1: We were at the horse races. We were at the
- 35:39Speaker 1: Santa Anita Racetrack. And then who walks in but Steven Spielberg,
- 35:44Speaker 1: And he said, and he said in a.
- 35:50Speaker 5: Spielberg at the Santa Anita.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Yes, well, I have generational wealth. So we were sitting
- 35:55Speaker 1: in the same place.
- 35:56Speaker 7: That's the place where wealth kind of is its head.
- 35:58Speaker 7: It's Santa Anita.
- 36:02Speaker 5: When I hear When I hear Santa Anita, I hear
- 36:05Speaker 5: old Money.
- 36:08Speaker 1: But Steven Spielberg, he said out loud, I really need
- 36:13Speaker 1: a script. And then little did I know a script
- 36:17Speaker 1: was the name of the horse. But that didn't stop me.
- 36:21Speaker 1: That was the that was the conversation starter that led
- 36:24Speaker 1: me to go, mister Spielberg, I have a show that
- 36:28Speaker 1: I think would be really great for the CW. Could
- 36:31Speaker 1: you hook me up with them? And he said, what,
- 36:34Speaker 1: talk to me when the race is over. And thank
- 36:37Speaker 1: god a script won the race. He was in a
- 36:40Speaker 1: good mood and he was willing to talk to me
- 36:42Speaker 1: because he had just won ten million dollars off that horse,
- 36:45Speaker 1: and so he was ready to go. He was ready
- 36:48Speaker 1: to help.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Yeah, just a really big shout out to our exec
- 36:50Speaker 2: producer Steven Spield, you thanks for jumping ONW show dvoy.
- 36:56Speaker 5: He's just so honest and you know what you think.
- 36:59Speaker 1: It wasn't a mat but if you're really passionate about something, uh,
- 37:04Speaker 1: you do it.
- 37:04Speaker 4: He was the most hands on I've ever seen any
- 37:07Speaker 4: executive producer there. Every day I saw every day he
- 37:11Speaker 4: worked on the props a little bit.
- 37:13Speaker 7: He was so so dedicated.
- 37:16Speaker 2: There was that one day that Crafty was short one person.
- 37:18Speaker 2: He jumped in, Yeah, he.
- 37:19Speaker 4: Said em and m's I said, Steven. He said, don't tell,
- 37:22Speaker 4: and he said, just kidding.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Kill every He's like undercover Bosston. He's having the most
- 37:25Speaker 1: fun he's ever had. And he did disclose with me
- 37:28Speaker 1: he loves the c W. He said, nobody can know this,
- 37:32Speaker 1: but I love the c W. I think he's I
- 37:35Speaker 1: gave him a Vampire Diary's T shirt for his birthday
- 37:40Speaker 1: and he said that it was the best present he's
- 37:42Speaker 1: ever gotten. He was so he was so elated.
- 37:45Speaker 4: I worked with him when I was a young actor too,
- 37:46Speaker 4: so it was good to see him again. Really well,
- 37:51Speaker 4: it was almost him. It was his name, it was
- 37:53Speaker 4: named It was a guy named Steven Spielmerkilberg. It was
- 38:00Speaker 4: Meelberg mielbergerg. It was a Smielberg movie produced by Bridgard
- 38:04Speaker 4: Union called e P Wow, Yeah, e P. That'sunds extra
- 38:09Speaker 4: per rest real.
- 38:12Speaker 7: It was a cat. It was a man and a.
- 38:13Speaker 5: Cat, and then you got a non don't do not
- 38:16Speaker 5: work and.
- 38:18Speaker 7: I had to leave.
- 38:20Speaker 5: Did they do not work?
- 38:21Speaker 1: Notice?
- 38:22Speaker 5: Do not work on Steven Schmielberg.
- 38:24Speaker 7: Smielbergs Yes, Steven Spielberg's EP.
- 38:27Speaker 2: I just got a question like, how was how was
- 38:30Speaker 2: he making money? Were you guys paying to be on set?
- 38:33Speaker 7: Was part of the club? Yeah, it was a club thing.
- 38:36Speaker 7: It was dues.
- 38:37Speaker 4: So so you paid dues union dues, yes, union.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Dues, and in exchange he gives you.
- 38:45Speaker 4: What rolls and carts, car advice rolls.
- 38:53Speaker 7: Those were kind of the triumvirate.
- 38:56Speaker 1: And how many years into your life, into your career
- 38:59Speaker 1: did you realize that this wasn't good work?
- 39:01Speaker 3: Well, that this wasn't real.
- 39:04Speaker 4: We you cast me on Gara Gargoyle Journal eight months ago?
- 39:10Speaker 4: And yeah, so four months ago. Yeah, I was still
- 39:14Speaker 4: in the kind of paying union dues until four months
- 39:17Speaker 4: ago because they're they're bi weekly, so twice a week,
- 39:20Speaker 4: and how much two hundred a week? Two hundred to
- 39:23Speaker 4: do twice a week? Four hundred a week.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Okay, so you're paying sixteen hundred dollars a month to Richard.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Union to be in the movie.
- 39:33Speaker 4: Listen, I realized how crazy all of this was about
- 39:37Speaker 4: a month and a half ago, And it's nice to
- 39:39Speaker 4: be able to talk it out because I'm still trying
- 39:41Speaker 4: to process how I got trapped in it.
- 39:44Speaker 7: It was tough for me.
- 39:45Speaker 4: I don't know. You know, you're so desperate to get
- 39:47Speaker 4: a job out here, and I was told you're ugly.
- 39:49Speaker 7: You're ugly or ugly, you're ugly to buy all sorts
- 39:52Speaker 7: of people.
- 39:52Speaker 4: And you guys are the first people that saw me.
- 39:54Speaker 7: From who I was.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Can I ask you something, was Richard.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Union the one calling you ugly over and over again?
- 40:02Speaker 7: Yes, it was him. It was him.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Yeah, this sounds like a cult.
- 40:06Speaker 7: Yes it might be. We didn't you know it was.
- 40:09Speaker 7: It was a bad, bad way, It was a bad situation.
- 40:13Speaker 5: But I'm really glad you said something because people in
- 40:15Speaker 5: Hollywood need to know about these scams.
- 40:17Speaker 4: Yes, I'm you know, I'm being kind of d D
- 40:20Speaker 4: transitioned out of it, you know, I'm I'm I'm I'm
- 40:23Speaker 4: taking away.
- 40:24Speaker 7: I'm being deep programmed out of the part of the Union.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Yeah, Now I've heard there are those support groups for
- 40:31Speaker 1: people who have been scanned by Richard Union. Yes, they
- 40:35Speaker 1: meet in church basements and they sort of, you know,
- 40:37Speaker 1: you have coffee and donuts and you and you be
- 40:40Speaker 1: honest with each other.
- 40:41Speaker 4: Yeah, the the the scam a verse geniuses, the SAG,
- 40:48Speaker 4: the SAG joined SACK.
- 40:52Speaker 7: I have joined SAG. No longer in the union, but
- 40:54Speaker 7: I am.
- 40:54Speaker 5: I've joined because you need those you need to join,
- 40:57Speaker 5: not in the Union.
- 40:58Speaker 4: I left the Union and now I'm in SAG.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Wait. Sorry, you said SAG was scam a verse.
- 41:05Speaker 7: Scam averse geniuses.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Now that's another scam.
- 41:09Speaker 3: It can be, can't That's not.
- 41:12Speaker 5: What's the logo when you get your dues or your emails?
- 41:16Speaker 5: What is the logo?
- 41:17Speaker 4: It is a kind of wayfish man raching his hands
- 41:21Speaker 4: up to the sky.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Close.
- 41:25Speaker 5: Okay, who that's not it sounds that sounds fine, close.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Most interesting.
- 41:30Speaker 7: Don't worry.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Not enough for me to say no, it's I know,
- 41:34Speaker 1: not enough for me to know.
- 41:35Speaker 4: God, they're helping me a lot. They are giving me
- 41:38Speaker 4: all sorts of car advice.
- 41:40Speaker 1: It is really how much do you pay them?
- 41:42Speaker 7: I pay them.
- 41:44Speaker 4: Let's see, it's they They don't ever want to do
- 41:47Speaker 4: what Richard Union did to us. So now we just
- 41:49Speaker 4: pay a lump sum every year, which I think is
- 41:52Speaker 4: twenty five to thirty thousand dollars to start that sounds right.
- 41:55Speaker 5: That sounds right, That sounds exactly.
- 41:57Speaker 7: Those are my sag dues.
- 42:00Speaker 5: Okay, that doesn't like a scam. That sounds like Zach.
- 42:03Speaker 7: Thank you regardless.
- 42:04Speaker 4: I'm so happy to be on this project and I
- 42:06Speaker 4: think we're gonna I really need it to kind of
- 42:08Speaker 4: cover these duws, so let's keep it rolling around.
- 42:11Speaker 5: I'm Stephanie. I have a question. Yes, so uh A
- 42:17Speaker 5: couple of the Riverdale shows in their second season, when
- 42:19Speaker 5: the second season rolled around, they had an episode con
- 42:23Speaker 5: music like a musical, and I was and I was wondering,
- 42:30Speaker 5: will we have a musical episode of Gargoylet Journal in
- 42:33Speaker 5: season two that people can look forward to.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I'm so glad you asked, Miranda, because oh gosh, I
- 42:40Speaker 1: don't want to spoil anything with con music really picked
- 42:43Speaker 1: up for a season two music we will be doing
- 42:48Speaker 1: Dear Evan Gargoyle. It's a bottle episode. It's a onn
- 42:54Speaker 1: gargoyle kills himself and then the other gargoyle through a
- 42:59Speaker 1: series of really out there misunderstandings, somehow tricks people into
- 43:04Speaker 1: believing he was friends with the other gargoyle and then
- 43:07Speaker 1: uh for it. Yes, we're supposed to like him we're
- 43:13Speaker 1: supposed to think what he's doing is redeemable, right, And
- 43:16Speaker 1: we're gonna get someone older to play it. Not sure yet, someone.
- 43:21Speaker 5: Not Chester.
- 43:22Speaker 1: No, I think we're gonna get Robert de Niro. I
- 43:24Speaker 1: think we're gonna give Robert de Niro to play the
- 43:27Speaker 1: dear earle. But it's all gonna work out at the end.
- 43:30Speaker 1: And it's just a bottle episode, So it's we're we're
- 43:33Speaker 1: gonna move past it the next So you.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Just want you want Robert de Niro playing a high
- 43:36Speaker 2: school gargoyle, just doesn't.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we'll put him in a polo. We'll put
- 43:44Speaker 1: him in a polo. It's fine.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fine, that's fine.
- 43:48Speaker 4: I'm very fine.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Well, I am so curious to know from all of you.
- 43:55Speaker 1: I mean, were there any sort of I mean, this
- 43:59Speaker 1: is I can't believe I'm as your boss. I'm asking
- 44:03Speaker 1: you this. This is kind of a you know, a
- 44:05Speaker 1: sensual show. Were there any off screen romances that I
- 44:13Speaker 1: don't know about?
- 44:14Speaker 7: I've been wondering.
- 44:19Speaker 5: And oppressed it.
- 44:21Speaker 2: I think we can talk. I think we can talk
- 44:24Speaker 2: about it. I think, you know what, there's no.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Mario Lopez here to ask these questions. So sometimes you
- 44:29Speaker 1: know what I'm feeling.
- 44:30Speaker 4: Would I'm curious about the two in this room. I'm
- 44:33Speaker 4: curious about the two in this room.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Okay, okay, we've had a lot of on screen chemistry.
- 44:39Speaker 2: I didn't know she thought I was awful. I really
- 44:41Speaker 2: had no idea.
- 44:43Speaker 5: But it's not about you being awful. It's that my
- 44:45Speaker 5: vagina is a stone.
- 44:46Speaker 2: But well, this is actually interesting. I wasn't going to
- 44:50Speaker 2: go that far, but we did try to hook up.
- 44:52Speaker 2: It didn't work because her vagina was a stone. Really yeah,
- 44:56Speaker 2: just one singular stone, and I can.
- 45:00Speaker 5: Be a stone and I could still not be a gargoyle.
- 45:02Speaker 5: Those two aren't.
- 45:04Speaker 2: And now I'm just realizing because I've been in intimate
- 45:07Speaker 2: situations with her multiple times, and when we would hook up,
- 45:09Speaker 2: you know, every week.
- 45:11Speaker 7: Okay, so you did.
- 45:14Speaker 4: Off screwed romance.
- 45:15Speaker 5: None of this sounds like it adds up, but please continue.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Well, I've just realizing how dumb I was, because, like,
- 45:23Speaker 2: you know, we're hooking up, and I don't want to
- 45:25Speaker 2: go into details because this is a breast junket. But
- 45:27Speaker 2: I would take off her shirt and it was all stone.
- 45:29Speaker 2: It was just all stone, and I could not figure it.
- 45:33Speaker 2: I literally could not figure it. It looked carved.
- 45:38Speaker 5: I don't want to talk about what I look like
- 45:39Speaker 5: underneath my clothes on Okay, okay.
- 45:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's total.
- 45:42Speaker 4: I'll talk about I'll talk about absolutely, I'll talk about
- 45:47Speaker 4: it's actually fair.
- 45:48Speaker 2: I'm sorry I brought it up that complete.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Yeah, let's level the playing field. When I take off
- 45:54Speaker 1: my shirt, it's like a lot of brick. It's a
- 45:58Speaker 1: lot of brick.
- 45:58Speaker 3: I'll be honest.
- 45:59Speaker 4: You are you lying?
- 46:01Speaker 5: Are you lying to make me feel better?
- 46:04Speaker 1: I can't help it.
- 46:05Speaker 3: I'm an ampath.
- 46:07Speaker 1: I'm an ampath. That's what I say every day on set.
- 46:11Speaker 1: You know it's it's It's much easier, I will say,
- 46:13Speaker 1: here's an insider Hollywood trick. Much easier way to deliver
- 46:16Speaker 1: bad news is to tell people you're an mpath after
- 46:18Speaker 1: you do it, because then they feel bad for you.
- 46:21Speaker 4: Yes, I will even the playing field as well. Tell
- 46:24Speaker 4: you guys about a little on screen romance, off screen
- 46:27Speaker 4: romance for me as well. I had a couple of
- 46:30Speaker 4: things going on behind the scenes. I divorced my wife
- 46:32Speaker 4: during the shooting of this, and.
- 46:36Speaker 7: It was mortal, but it made me.
- 46:38Speaker 4: Being on the show made me realize that I could
- 46:41Speaker 4: you know, if I looked good enough to be on
- 46:43Speaker 4: the c W show, I realized I could do a
- 46:45Speaker 4: little bit better wife wise. So this is brutal for
- 46:49Speaker 4: me to say.
- 46:50Speaker 2: To be honest, we wish you luck, man, it's really
- 46:55Speaker 2: and I haven't.
- 46:56Speaker 4: I don't think any of mine are working. I've called
- 46:58Speaker 4: I've called every single headquarter. I've called Ginger headquarters. I've
- 47:02Speaker 4: called Inger headquarters. I've called you because I say my
- 47:05Speaker 4: app isn't working. I'm not getting any matches, and I say,
- 47:09Speaker 4: how to figure it's just not how.
- 47:11Speaker 1: I don't think it's a software.
- 47:12Speaker 4: My app is broken. I see them and they don't
- 47:14Speaker 4: come to me. And it's broken because I'm on a
- 47:17Speaker 4: CW show. It's they don't understand. And so it's been hard.
- 47:21Speaker 4: But I'm good and I'm living in Redondo now and
- 47:24Speaker 4: it's really nice.
- 47:26Speaker 3: David, I gotta take you out, my guy, I gotta
- 47:28Speaker 3: take you out.
- 47:29Speaker 7: We're gonna go, Oh, that would be fun.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Hit the young party scenes. Good.
- 47:32Speaker 7: Where do you go, dude?
- 47:34Speaker 6: Oh?
- 47:34Speaker 2: We go to all the great bars that are kind
- 47:36Speaker 2: of like open now, you know, kind of like new
- 47:38Speaker 2: ones open, like post pandemic. Like there's a junkies which
- 47:43Speaker 2: is really junkies. Yeah, junkies. It's kind of like we're
- 47:47Speaker 2: all like the twenty one year old twenty two year
- 47:49Speaker 2: olds a go. It's like really fun. And then there's
- 47:52Speaker 2: two two two, which is this bar on like Hyperion.
- 47:58Speaker 2: Do you know where a Hyperion is? Oh?
- 48:01Speaker 7: Is that is that in Los Fila's.
- 48:06Speaker 2: Not that hype Okay, that's the wrong hypo. Okay, this
- 48:09Speaker 2: one's in the hills.
- 48:11Speaker 5: I'm really loving this.
- 48:12Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Hyperion Hills.
- 48:13Speaker 2: Hyperion Hills. Yeah, it's just outside. You got a Hyperian
- 48:17Speaker 2: Hills and it's wild. Dude, you're gonna have a great time.
- 48:20Speaker 4: You'll probably meet you know where I met my wife
- 48:22Speaker 4: originally was Dimples in Burbank karaokee bar. It has since closed,
- 48:27Speaker 4: and so now that I'm divorced.
- 48:29Speaker 3: There's that I call to the huge breakout happened.
- 48:32Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, mister building from say by the Bell used
- 48:35Speaker 4: to run that needs to be there every night. And
- 48:37Speaker 4: I called him up and I called him, I said,
- 48:38Speaker 4: where did you go? Because I need Dimples back because
- 48:41Speaker 4: I'm single again, And he said, I'm busy, buddy, I'm
- 48:43Speaker 4: busy boy.
- 48:45Speaker 5: You love to call people when you have a problem.
- 48:47Speaker 5: You love to just like.
- 48:49Speaker 4: There is nothing, nothing more refreshing than a nice phone call.
- 48:53Speaker 4: In twenty twenty one, I wish more people were making
- 48:56Speaker 4: phone calls. You younger generation are always texting, and the
- 48:59Speaker 4: beauty of the oral conversation is being lost.
- 49:02Speaker 1: It's being lost, you know, David, if you're in a bind,
- 49:05Speaker 1: I can always call Trevor. He has a ton of friends.
- 49:09Speaker 1: He knows everybody. He knows gn husband, he knows, he
- 49:16Speaker 1: knows Superman, he knows Batman, he knows Elmo, he knows.
- 49:21Speaker 5: But those aren't real sippany. Those are just the people
- 49:23Speaker 5: in front of the grimmen's Chinese eat.
- 49:25Speaker 4: What are their names and are they women?
- 49:28Speaker 3: I don't.
- 49:29Speaker 2: I don't think you named a one woman character, he said, Superman, Batman, Elmo.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Well, they don't have a lot of women on Hollywood Boulevard.
- 49:38Speaker 1: I will say, not a lot of female characters on there.
- 49:41Speaker 1: I think there's a Harley Quinn, although Trevor and her
- 49:44Speaker 1: are not on good terms. There was a sort of
- 49:49Speaker 1: luncheon with all the Hollywood Boulevard people.
- 49:52Speaker 2: They're doing.
- 49:53Speaker 5: It's so fun they do a luncheon.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Are they more organized than you think?
- 49:57Speaker 5: Are they union?
- 49:59Speaker 7: Which union?
- 49:59Speaker 4: You're in the which.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Union, So that's Shelby.
- 50:04Speaker 3: The Onion.
- 50:06Speaker 4: I was in the Onion in the eighties. I was
- 50:07Speaker 4: in the Onion in the eighties. It played Doc Brown
- 50:09Speaker 4: on Venice Beach. It was a nightmare, it was a
- 50:13Speaker 4: true I'm sorry to hear that she is still that
- 50:18Speaker 4: she is still going.
- 50:21Speaker 1: You know, you could lead a horse to water, but
- 50:23Speaker 1: sometimes you can't lead him out of the onion. That's
- 50:25Speaker 1: what I That's what I say. And sometimes you just
- 50:28Speaker 1: have to learn to accept it at a certain point,
- 50:29Speaker 1: because if I get into this fight with Trevor one
- 50:31Speaker 1: more time, that's marriage. Our marriage will it made every
- 50:40Speaker 1: aspect of my life crush, So.
- 50:45Speaker 5: It will crunion. Wow, listeners, beware l Union l Onion.
- 50:51Speaker 3: So I guess we haven't done much actual promotion of
- 50:53Speaker 3: the show.
- 50:54Speaker 2: We've really just been kind.
