- 0:00Listening to the Be Forever Cool podcast My Name Is Rex 45.
- 0:04My name is TJ with two wheels and coffee.
- 0:06What's? Going on, man.
- 0:10You know just how keeping on updates with motorcycles, like
- 0:15everybody I'm assuming waiting for the season to start, you
- 0:20know, just ended but just ended test happening.
- 0:23But I'm just ready for the new season.
- 0:26There's so much to look forward to.
- 0:27So I got like 3 months before it starts.
- 0:29And for myself, living in New England, probably got like four
- 0:33to five months before I get the streets or even the track
- 0:37because it's a little cold up here.
- 0:39So yeah, just listening to what's going on, all the new
- 0:43news out there and updates and new bikes out and all that good
- 0:46stuff, right? So you're doing like the rest of
- 0:49us. We're on YouTube, you know,
- 0:51searching for the next bike to buy.
- 0:54Searching for the latest, yeah latest videos.
- 1:00Coming out. You know, it's it's, it's it's
- 1:04like it's crazy getting through the offseason, you know, even
- 1:08though I'm fortunate this year to be able to continue to ride
- 1:12without eating the year even, you know, I I do remember, you
- 1:16know, all the other years it was kind of like, yeah, I'm looking
- 1:19at these, you know, websites because I'm buying a helmet,
- 1:23buying gloves or buying boots, you know, you know, I need to do
- 1:26this one. But, you know, I need to buy a
- 1:28battery because my battery died, which I just actually did and
- 1:31just came in earlier today for the dirt bike, So excited about
- 1:36that. So, you know, this is the time
- 1:38to kind of do all that and like you're saying, you know,
- 1:40watching watching those videos and all watching old Moto GP
- 1:44races, the World super bike races, the motor America, the
- 1:47Canadian, the Australian. You know, don't I think
- 1:52everybody does that, don't they? Yeah, I'm sure everybody, you
- 1:56see a new race pop up and you'll be like, OK, three weeks ago and
- 1:59you're like, all right, cool, that's that's something new I
- 2:01can watch. It says like a year ago or two
- 2:05years ago. You're like, what's new out?
- 2:08Like, you know, if this was a year not to cut you off, if this
- 2:10was a year ago, two years ago, and I haven't seen it, I'll
- 2:13probably watch it. But if I've seen it, then yeah,
- 2:15I'm like, you know. If I have nothing to watch for,
- 2:18sure. But you know, you keep scrolling
- 2:19to see what what's the newest motorcycle video that's out?
- 2:23And that's pretty much what I've been doing, right?
- 2:26Right. You can go ice racing, you know,
- 2:29so you know up that way. You definitely can do that, so.
- 2:33Yeah, I'll probably see if they got tickets for sale to
- 2:36Spectate. Feel it out first.
- 2:39Yeah, you know, I got a bunch of friends who want me to go skiing
- 2:43and snowboarding, so sure, I'll have to choose that over ice
- 2:47racing. No doubt I will say, you know I
- 2:50I own a pair of skis once in my life and and I never went
- 2:54skiing, you know, and it's something that I'm, I don't
- 2:59think you should. Say that they're going to be
- 3:01like, all right, talk with me. Well, you know, I'm, I'm down to
- 3:05do it. So, you know, it's something
- 3:07that I I want to do. I won't say it's like a bucket
- 3:09list, but, you know, I think I'll be good at it, you know?
- 3:13So yeah, I don't know whether skis or snowboard, which way to
- 3:17go. I I hear, I believe snowboarding
- 3:20is a little bit easier, but you know.
- 3:24Easier on the lakes, I I was told so like.
- 3:27So. I guess over the day you can
- 3:31probably walk instead of skiing where all your legs get around.
- 3:35Well, I don't know. I I don't really go as much
- 3:38either, but. Right.
- 3:39Well, you know if you make it out to Colorado and you got a
- 3:41trip planned, give me a shout. I I 'cause I I hear it's it's
- 3:45the sun is out and you can be in shorts and AT shirt and beyond
- 3:49the skip the slopes. And I might try the hills first
- 3:53for Colorado. Blue Hills.
- 3:58But somewhere in New Hampshire, Vermont.
- 4:01I got you. I get good.
- 4:03You know, take a trip to Colorado.
- 4:05I'll. Make it happen man you get you
- 4:07got four months but as you can't hit the track so so I hit the
- 4:11slopes every other weekend and I think you know some writers that
- 4:15they I don't know what the term is but they do love to go to the
- 4:17slope and ski often. There's a couple of them I know
- 4:22for sure. For sure.
- 4:24So, you know, just a phone call away, TJ.
- 4:29You know, they've been calling me, so kind of just saying,
- 4:33yeah, sure, I tried to go this year for.
- 4:36Sure must be nice. Must be nice.
- 4:39Yeah. No, for me, you know, I don't, I
- 4:42don't have that the luxury of of of getting some snow on my body.
- 4:47But you know, down here it looks like I can go to the track a
- 4:51little bit more often. So I'm after the holidays.
- 4:55I'm hoping to get in some track days in January and then start
- 5:00hopefully racing in in February. I'm looking to probably join
- 5:05some more clubs and and really just try to you know just skip
- 5:09to some new tracks like I said earlier and and and and just
- 5:12keep, you know, keep doing some track days and keep keep keep
- 5:17doing track days but just keep riding, racing.
- 5:19The downside is I'm probably not going to be in one club long
- 5:24enough to like fight for some title or something like that,
- 5:26which is the part that's kind of like, you know, you know, it's
- 5:30nice to to to look at end goal, but it's also nice to know that,
- 5:35you know, OK, yeah, I'm probably going to do like 10 rounds next
- 5:38year and a good amount of those might be all new tracks.
- 5:43And you know at first going to new tracks was kind of weird but
- 5:46after a while it got easier to learn the tracks and and so for
- 5:51me you know you know going to new tracks and just you know
- 5:54just having some fun because you know like we said in last show
- 5:57you know I I got into into racing later in life and and so
- 6:02for me it's just really more about the experience and just
- 6:05you know as as you know like I I I wanted I I hope to do Laguna
- 6:09Seca I hope to do Coda and a lot of these other tracks you know
- 6:12you. Just got to get first place
- 6:14every time. Gives yourself a chance.
- 6:17Well, you know, I'm in that race for that weekend.
- 6:19I'm going to do my very best, no doubt.
- 6:22But you know, I, I, I also recognize that, you know, you
- 6:26know, I'm not going to go to a track for the first time and and
- 6:28win, right. So that's, you know, that's that
- 6:33it is what that is. So I'm not worried about it, but
- 6:35it's not about that. You know, if if it's a track I
- 6:38like a lot I'll be back. So you know what I mean?
- 6:42I'm not too concerned about that at the moment.
- 6:46You know what I mean? So, so for me that's that that's
- 6:47what I'm looking forward to to next year.
- 6:49So you know, probably 10 rounds, some new tracks and and and have
- 6:54some fun and you know for the weekend I'm going to try to do
- 6:56my best for sure. So, you know, we'll see.
- 7:01Well, you got some new faces, new competition, so that'll be
- 7:04exciting. I'm sure you'll bring your
- 7:07basically your talents down to South Beach.
- 7:09Right. That's always the cool part,
- 7:12man. Meeting new people I'm I'm very
- 7:16standoffish. I I tend to say to myself so
- 7:19usually people come up to me and and and and talk.
- 7:22I I really don't you know go go and chat up with people.
- 7:26But you know it's still cool that you know when when people
- 7:29come up and and ask you about your bike or or or whatever you
- 7:32know what I'm saying? You know it.
- 7:34It's always cool and and hearing and hearing other people's story
- 7:38as as as well because you know, you know we all got our visors
- 7:42down and we all on go mode. But you know after the race is
- 7:46over you're talking to people, you hear what else they do and
- 7:49and what they have done and stuff like that.
- 7:51You know it it's it's pretty cool.
- 7:56That should be a good time, like you said in January, would you
- 7:59say February or January? February.
- 8:02OK. So that's very short time.
- 8:06I mean those weeks will pass by pretty fast, I hope and get back
- 8:10out there. Just probably just be checking
- 8:14on the race here or something and get new updates like I am
- 8:17doing now waiting to my time. Listen, man, come on down.
- 8:21Come on down. You know you don't got to stay
- 8:24up that way. Just need a plane ticket, that's
- 8:26all. I got a bike waiting for you.
- 8:29And as long as you know, as we talked about all the time, you
- 8:32just make sure you're prepared for everything.
- 8:34I'm sure you will be the make sure you got your tire warmers,
- 8:39your your your safety wires, your all your plugs and stands
- 8:44and make sure you know what time to be there and you know find a
- 8:48nice spot where you can relax before you get in.
- 8:51Because we all know we all been through it.
- 8:54Where you might be running late just because of what's going on
- 8:57and and things get chaotic from there and it's you you want to
- 9:02go to have a good time and not just be stressed all weekend.
- 9:05You're right that you're absolutely right about that.
- 9:08I think for newer writers, yeah, definitely.
- 9:12You know do as much as you as as TJ said, to be prepared for that
- 9:17because you know you don't like on the track is hectic enough.
- 9:22Getting your mind right is hectic enough.
- 9:25Don't add to it with off the track stuff that you know if you
- 9:29if you just you know spent more time sooner you know if you just
- 9:34did it earlier you can alleviate those things.
- 9:37Some things maybe not all but but most things you can
- 9:40alleviate if you if you plan ahead but it it when you're a
- 9:43new rider you don't you you're going to make those mistakes.
- 9:46I think if you've been riding for a while and still making
- 9:48those mistakes, then you know that's a that's a different
- 9:51story. But you know new riders
- 9:54definitely you're going to, you're going to make those
- 9:56mistakes. But since you've been checking
- 9:59out our show and other shows like this, you know it's all
- 10:02about the preparation. Yep.
- 10:05My first time to the track, I know you remember I was with a
- 10:11couple friends and yeah, we're supposed to be there at 7:00.
- 10:15I mean, they brought their motorcycles and I rented 1.
- 10:18So it was a little easier on me because Mike was already
- 10:21prepared for me as I thought. So as we got there, just showed
- 10:24up and I didn't know like they were going to be on track, like
- 10:29right then and there, you know, so like, I was just a little bit
- 10:32behind and they were like, oh, you have to run the tech, you
- 10:36have to sign this, You have to do this.
- 10:38And they were like, where where do you miss the meeting?
- 10:40And I'm just, so that was my first slap on the wrist.
- 10:46I would definitely from then make sure I get a spot and try
- 10:50to get there early, whatever track I go to because I hate
- 10:54that feeling. Right now let me ask you so
- 10:57after the first time you have you been on time since for.
- 11:03The most part yes, because the well after that maybe I was a
- 11:10couple times I was probably not on time because it was just too
- 11:14early, but since then I've been camping out at the track, so.
- 11:20I'll. Be there night before the things
- 11:22I have to do so I just wake up and just get right into it.
- 11:26And that does happen. You know what I mean?
- 11:27Not being able to get there on time, whether because it's a
- 11:30long commute, because it's work or whatever life event.
- 11:33So I'm not sitting here saying you know anything other than if
- 11:37you can get there, be on time. But you know, I mean, if you
- 11:40can't, it is what it is. You're going to hear things like
- 11:42that because it just makes it run smoother when more people
- 11:46are on time because the folks that are are working at the
- 11:49track, they don't want to, they don't want you to travel all
- 11:52this way for you not to get on or however far you travel.
- 11:55They don't want that. And then you can't get on the
- 11:57track. They want you to get on the
- 11:59track. But sometimes that doesn't
- 12:00happen because you're a little bit later then, then, then they
- 12:05can do anything about. So you know, you know and again,
- 12:09the seasoned people know. We know.
- 12:11It's like, OK, you're getting in late.
- 12:12You already know you're missing this and you're missing that.
- 12:15You, you accept your faith, but when you knew you, you know you
- 12:18don't realize like OK, you know if you're if you're certainly
- 12:22late after a certain point the cut off is what it is and you're
- 12:26going to be hanging out Saturday morning you know and and and
- 12:30playing catch up. Oh yeah, he's on that board.
- 12:34So makes you got all the gear, new helmets if you need it and
- 12:41all that good stuff. I know my helmet expired, so I
- 12:48had to purchase a new helmet. And you know, I like a certain
- 12:51brand, so I had to wait a little while for it to become
- 12:55available. So it's finally here so I can
- 12:59pull it out next year and I'll be worried enough.
- 13:03But yeah, my helmet did expire this September of 2023.
- 13:09It was manufactured in 2019, and for our club series, five years
- 13:18is it's over. So right.
- 13:21Which, you know, I ran into that problem.
- 13:23I've had to buy a helmet in mid season.
- 13:26I've had to buy a helmet because I crashed too and in in mid in
- 13:30in mid season, you know, But you know these clubs, they do have
- 13:35rules about those things and it's important to, you know, pay
- 13:39attention to the manufacturer date on your helmet.
- 13:42Even you know, if you're looking to buy a helmet for next year,
- 13:45all right. And you might there might be
- 13:47deals on helmet now helmets now but you got to look at the
- 13:50manufacturer date on those helmets because if it's a year
- 13:53old or something like that you just you just you know you get
- 13:57you're not going to be able to ride use that helmet for the
- 13:58length of time that you have available based on the club
- 14:01rules. So it is important to you, like
- 14:04if you're riding in 24 and you're and you have to buy a new
- 14:08helmet, buy a 2024 helmet. Sure, I I brought.
- 14:14I brought my when I first started.
- 14:16I brought my helmet the street that I was riding with, so I had
- 14:20no idea that they would check like the manufacturer date and
- 14:23stuff like that. So as you see this helmet right
- 14:26here, it's retired now and I went down and turned 1A at
- 14:31louder, so missing the little winglet and it's missing.
- 14:36Oh well, it's scratched on the other side, still usable but
- 14:42can't race in it. So it's it's on the shelf now.
- 14:45Just see. Right.
- 14:46And you know same thing. You know I've had one helmet
- 14:50I'll tell you I bought it in 2017.
- 14:56I think I did 2 rounds on that helmet and maybe 3 rounds on
- 15:02that helmet and then I I low sided and got ran over and the
- 15:10face of the the like you know for riders that don't wear
- 15:15helmets and and gear and stuff like that on the streets,
- 15:19obviously you have to do it on the track.
- 15:20So I'm not talking to those folks.
- 15:23Anything can happen at any moment and you know for me like
- 15:29you know I'll I'll get a photo of that helmet and and post it
- 15:31at some point I'll get a in this video you'll see it, you'll see
- 15:36it. So it'll be up.
- 15:37And helmets, they work, you know, gloves, the jacket, all
- 15:43that stuff, all that stuff works.
- 15:45And I know for places where you don't have helmet laws and
- 15:49anything like that, it's it's it's cool.
- 15:53But like at least a helmet, at least gloves and at least riding
- 15:57boots because, you know, those things will save you from, you
- 16:00know, damaging your hands what you need, damaging your feet
- 16:05what you need, damaging the brain what you need.
- 16:09And you know, I would say jacket and pants as well, but OK.
- 16:13If you want to get some Rd. rash on your back, OK.
- 16:15On your chest. OK.
- 16:17You know, on your on your shoulders or whatever, your legs
- 16:20or whatever. OK.
- 16:22But minimum at least riding boots.
- 16:24You know what I'm saying? And that that that that's.
- 16:27Yeah. So you see TJ got his helmet it
- 16:30it's missing some pieces back there from his from his crash,
- 16:34you know what I'm saying? You know, but you know you know
- 16:39as as as you know, but you look at his face he's he's he's
- 16:42intact and and and that's the most important thing.
- 16:45That's why you know when you look at the cost of these these
- 16:48things, you know, just think about it like this it's it's
- 16:52cheaper to buy riding gear than it is to replace a body part
- 16:58skin graft or any of that stuff. And you know there's some
- 17:01writers out there that I know that's never gone down.
- 17:05And their life is like, they're like I'm wearing shorts and AT
- 17:09shirt and if if I go down and I go, that's, that's God's way.
- 17:16I've gone down eight times. Oh, God is trying to tell me,
- 17:20you know what I'm saying? But I do know from racing
- 17:25falling is part of going faster and and and not necessarily like
- 17:30this is the way I should be going out and and you know I've
- 17:33I I got a screw in my hand and I'm I'm missing a spleen and and
- 17:38and you know gear has protected my skin and and my brain and all
- 17:43that stuff so you know the helmets the is the bare minimum
- 17:47but you know you should you should Jack that up a little
- 17:50bit. I mean, that's a big debate.
- 17:53In certain places there's still states that have no helmet laws,
- 18:00which I'm OK with because like, it's not like a major city where
- 18:06boy, that it's not like, you know where I'm where.
- 18:08I yeah, absolutely. Right, Chaotic with cars like
- 18:11and and everyone's in a rush and some of the places that have no
- 18:15helmet lies, it's like you know, you feel more free riding.
- 18:19But as me personally just protecting my body, that's just
- 18:24how I feel. All the gears out there compared
- 18:27to like years ago, like now they have gear where you can you can
- 18:30wear motorcycle gear and go out to a dinner or somewhere else
- 18:35and and not even notice be noticed that you're wearing
- 18:38motorcycle gear. It's just more casual nowadays,
- 18:41so. Exactly.
- 18:42Yeah, I guess. I have.
- 18:43I have riding shoes. I have Kavalai jeans.
- 18:47I'm going to get a a a flannel shirt that's that I I can ride
- 18:52and and can take a certain amount of impact and and
- 18:54definitely low riding. You know stuff that you're not
- 18:57riding aggressive or anything like that for sure.
- 19:00But you know my first accident, a deer ran across the highway
- 19:06you know what I'm saying? So you it's not even cars or or
- 19:09vehicles right. It's animals that can take you
- 19:11out. You know what I'm saying?
- 19:13So and I didn't and and and and I didn't even think of that
- 19:16until that happened to me. I'm looking out for everything
- 19:18else. And now I'm looking out for
- 19:20dears. Now I know when dears come out
- 19:21to eat and and things like that. You know what I'm saying?
- 19:28You know what I'm saying? So it's like you never know.
- 19:30And you know if I, I feel if I got into riding younger and in a
- 19:35state where there was no motorcycle laws, I probably
- 19:37wouldn't be wearing a helmet like I'm.
- 19:39I mean you you, you become part of the culture, right.
- 19:42So it it is what it is. I respect those guys and gals
- 19:45that rock that. You know what I'm saying?
- 19:49You know, I I came in to racing. So I didn't come in like I
- 19:53didn't, I didn't, you know, like as Jim would say, yeah, I did a
- 19:56track day the first day at Ping Ming.
- 19:57But realistically I wanted to race and you know what I'm
- 20:01saying? And so forgive gear for me.
- 20:03And also like I, you know, I crashed like a year later like I
- 20:06said, with my first crash with it, with it, with there.
- 20:10So for me and I and I had gear on, you know what I'm saying?
- 20:13And I saw what it did to to keep me intact.
- 20:17So my mindset was just like, oh, OK, I'm just going to wear a
- 20:20gear and and and that's what I've been doing.
- 20:22And even in in hot weathers, you know what I'm saying?
- 20:25It's like 85 out, you know, 95 out.
- 20:28I'm on my, my, my Ducati, you know, everybody knows the ducks
- 20:31run hot. I'm out there sweating at at the
- 20:33light. You know what I'm saying?
- 20:37But you know, now I got to buy a different bike for the
- 20:40summertime just to stay cooler. But I, I, you know, I believe in
- 20:43the gear and I'd rather be hot with gear on and then not
- 20:48because you know, I I can't even ride without gloves, you know
- 20:51what I'm saying? So it it it's, you know, even on
- 20:53a scooter I like, I got gloves on.
- 20:56I got riding shoes on. You know what I mean?
- 20:58It it, it, that's that's just how I'm wide based on how I got
- 21:02into riding. I can say that when I first
- 21:06started, I I I wanted to protect myself, 'cause I didn't want to
- 21:10fall. So I knew it was if not if, but
- 21:14when. So like I had, I had all the
- 21:18gear. And once I got comfortable,
- 21:19like, I actually fell with my gear on, you know, with my First
- 21:25Street bike. And then as I got comfortable
- 21:27with the years, you know, I started taking off layers, you
- 21:30know, like, all right, I don't need a jacket this time, you
- 21:33know? All right, I don't need boots.
- 21:36I'm gonna wear my, my, my Nike dunks or something covered with
- 21:40a sock and do all that good stuff because you know, it's
- 21:43just I started getting more comfortable.
- 21:45I'd have to go into the track and doing the speeds we do there
- 21:50and just know what the suit can do.
- 21:53And when I got back to the street I I I cannot go on my
- 21:57street bike when I wear my riding boots.
- 21:59Always wearing a jacket if it's a mesh jacket or right textile.
- 22:05And I always got gloves and my helmet, so that's like my
- 22:08baseline. Yeah, and and look, we get it
- 22:11like motorcycle riding is a very expensive sport, right?
- 22:15So yeah, to have A to have a, a a jacket for when it's cold or
- 22:19or I shouldn't say jacket have gear when it's cold, when it's
- 22:22hot, when it's warm, when it's freezing, it's a lot of money,
- 22:27right? No doubt about it, right.
- 22:29It's a lot of money. But I, you know, the protection
- 22:32you get from it is to me is cheaper than the protection you
- 22:38get if you don't have it and you go down that.
- 22:44Is the fact. That is the fact.
- 22:47So yeah, man. Gear on bikes?
- 22:50Just better Chance, yeah? And nowadays the technology on
- 22:53the gear and the and the type of things you can wear is, is, is
- 22:56pretty impressive, you know what I mean?
- 22:58So it is you know it's not like before you don't have to look
- 23:03like a a superhero. You can look like just however
- 23:06you want to look and still be somewhat protected.
- 23:09Not as fully as having Leathers on, but at least you got more
- 23:12protection just having regular you know St.
- 23:15Gear, regular clothes on that you.
- 23:18You know what I'm saying? That's not as that's not
- 23:21designed for you to be on a motorcycle if you go down.
- 23:25Someone's working on some type of crazy motorcycle
- 23:29technologies. I don't know if it's out yet,
- 23:31but I can't be. But like, I keep seeing it on
- 23:34like Instagram and Facebook. It's like it's like a virtual
- 23:39guy on a bike. When he falls, his whole body
- 23:43wraps in a you. Know like a airbag?
- 23:47Yeah, airbag. Yeah, yeah, I've seen that as
- 23:50well, you know, Yeah, I think that technology is going to come
- 23:54out eventually because my, you know, my my suits, my, my
- 23:57Dionysi suits that got airbags in them and I've crashed with
- 24:01without a suit, with the airbag in it.
- 24:04And I've crashed with a suit with a airbag in it and give me
- 24:07an airbag every time, every time.
- 24:10So if it wraps around me, even better.
- 24:13You know what I'm saying? It may not protect you if you
- 24:15hit something that's not moving. The case in point, that's how I
- 24:17lost my spleen. But if you roll down the road,
- 24:21slide down the road, tumble down the road and stuff like that,
- 24:25you get more protection with it. And so, yeah, so I I would love
- 24:29for that to be out where it just, you know, you know what
- 24:32I'm saying? Because some people need it just
- 24:33going down the stairs, yeah. I I had a few phrase falling
- 24:41down the stairs before but that. Was Listen, I've fallen down the
- 24:44stairs before too. I need the airbag for.
- 24:47That so let me tell you I, I, I, I speak from experience.
- 24:52You. Know luckily I'll have many
- 24:55steps, but right my whole place had has some steps, you know.
- 24:59Hope you fell down all steps. It's pretty funny.
- 25:02They're OK. Not a good look after the fall
- 25:05down. They had a airbag.
- 25:06They would be much better, yeah. Yeah, No, So, yeah.
- 25:09So I think that technology will come out at some point.
- 25:13You know in especially in in, in you know they'll figure it out,
- 25:18they'll they'll figure it out because you know that's what you
- 25:21need that to to a degree at some point how much of it will it,
- 25:24will it help? Who knows.
- 25:25But like more protection you have, the better.
- 25:28People riding, yeah. Exactly.
- 25:31You know what I'm saying? We all the way protected from
- 25:33your whole body. Speaking of riding, what the GP
- 25:38for 2024 Man rule changes? Contingencies, not
- 25:43contingencies, Concessions. What's going on there, man?
- 25:48Well, I don't know how the concession system looked before.
- 25:55Just as you know, getting into Moto GPA lot and very interested
- 26:01in how 2024 is going to play out because as you know, there's 8
- 26:06Ducati bikes and pretty much all eight are dominant.
- 26:11All eight can win. You know the winner is on a
- 26:14Ducati. I think all eight have won.
- 26:18It was Luca Marini last year. Might not have won, might not
- 26:21have won, but podium. I'm not even sure if this.
- 26:26No. Like Alex Marquez is 1,
- 26:29obviously. PECO, Martine, Zarko, Bazecki.
- 26:35Oh yeah, the gin Antonio, yeah. So I I think, I think maybe
- 26:39Marini podium but didn't win. I I, I could be, I could be
- 26:44wrong, even could have won, but definitely podium.
- 26:47Yeah, well, it's like, like I said, I don't know how the
- 26:52contingency looked last year. I should check, but it really
- 26:57looks like Honda and Yamaha, if they take advantage, should have
- 27:02a great year or they should set themselves up to be pretty
- 27:06dominant coming into the next season after.
- 27:11Next few seasons, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:13I would say they got they, they have about 3 years.
- 27:17I mean, we'll see what happened at the end of 2024.
- 27:21But realistically, you think about how long Ducati had to
- 27:24endure. I mean, you're talking about
- 27:26Casey Stoner, right? And even Casey Stoner struggled
- 27:30and the bike was bad then and it and it took almost 10 years
- 27:34before Davincioso and those guys.
- 27:37I think 2015. Sixteen those guys started.
- 27:41So it's not quite 10 years but close to 10 years started the
- 27:43bike started to get on the podium and stuff like that.
- 27:46So it's it's. Crazy made to develop everything
- 27:51too so. It's nice to say 2-3 years, but
- 27:54it could take longer because Ducati struggled for a minute.
- 27:58Granted, Honda's money is long, so I think Honda, we'll figure
- 28:04it out quicker because they got more money to throw at it and
- 28:08for them, it's all pride. They've been doing this thing
- 28:10for so long. They're going to throw money at
- 28:12it. I can't.
- 28:13I mean, I Suzuki bowed out, but I don't.
- 28:17Honda's not going to bow out. Those guys are very confident.
- 28:21You know their confidence is what got them in this place
- 28:23because they didn't evolve, but they they they got confidence
- 28:27and and Yamaha, I suspect them as well.
- 28:31I think Yamaha needs a couple more bikes on the grid to really
- 28:34help, you know what I mean? But you, you know it it's fairly
- 28:42yeah, I don't. Know, I don't know the
- 28:44percentage of points that they're working on, but there's
- 28:50been a tire issue especially getting closer to the end of the
- 28:55the season. And you know Pecker had a couple
- 28:59tie issues. So the test tires that they're
- 29:03able to use like it's it's tremendous like they have 260
- 29:08test tires that Honda and Yamaha can accumulate and according to
- 29:15Ducati who's the number one on the list where they allowed 170.
- 29:20So that's 90 more tires for Honda and Ducati.
- 29:26I mean a Honda and Yamaha too to take advantage of and besides
- 29:33that they they can use any test rider for for any circuit of of
- 29:41the calendar or and then and then Ducati can only use 3
- 29:47circuits. Now I don't know which circuits
- 29:49these are or or how to use them, but they can only use test
- 29:53riders and they can only choose three circuits as opposed to
- 29:57Honda and Yamaha. We can use anybody and any
- 30:01circuit and they have 90 more tires than Ducati, so that's a
- 30:07slight advantage. I I don't, like I said I don't
- 30:09know how it looked last year or who was at the bottom of the
- 30:12food chain. But for how Honda looked last
- 30:17year, I mean, they were, I mean their tires weren't doing
- 30:21anything for them, so. I do believe it's.
- 30:24I do believe it's not a small but a big advantage because like
- 30:29like I said, Honda's money's long.
- 30:32So you know for them that they have a better chance of, you
- 30:39know, getting it figured out quicker.
- 30:41Although with Mar Marquez, what he didn't even in the last round
- 30:44of what he's been doing, like he's showing that the bike is
- 30:48close, even though it's not really good.
- 30:52That's my word, not his, you know what I mean?
- 30:56But he's been able to make the bike in the top seven, right?
- 30:59Either crashed out or he, he was in the hunt, right?
- 31:05So you know I think if Marini and Zako can ride the bike
- 31:10similar and also the the the knowledge they have from Ducati,
- 31:15if they can do what Jack Miller did for KTM, yeah, Honda has a
- 31:21really good chance of of getting there and you know so it it'll
- 31:28be interesting to see. Now in Yamaha's case though
- 31:33they're just lacking grip, right.
- 31:36You know they can if they, if they if they if they throw the
- 31:38power at. It overall top speed.
- 31:41Too. Yeah, but well, they have the
- 31:43engine, but the problem is with the engine.
- 31:45They don't have any. They don't have any grip, so
- 31:48they they get wheel spin, right. So they're not, they're not,
- 31:51they're not getting, so they can't.
- 31:53You know what I'm saying? So for them, it's not like a
- 31:55handling problem. Honda's still got to figure out
- 31:58their handling problem. You know what I'm saying?
- 32:00Their field problem for for the Yamahas, it's just not enough
- 32:03power and not enough power that they can control or or or or
- 32:09they can actually use, right, I should say and so and who knows
- 32:14once they can use it maybe they maybe there's maybe their
- 32:16handling may also show up in that too.
- 32:19Who knows. But it seems like when they have
- 32:21the power they can't get it to the ground and and so we're
- 32:27Honda. They got the power but that bike
- 32:31doesn't give them any, any feedback.
- 32:34So they don't, they don't you know, they they they it's you
- 32:40know. So they they they need the tires
- 32:42for sure. It's I don't know there's you
- 32:48need the feedback to to get get an advantage.
- 32:52Right. And those bikes are so rigid,
- 32:54right? I mean you look at the motor two
- 32:56bikes when you hear from what you hear from riders and stuff
- 32:58like that and how, how much you know compared to like R6 or or
- 33:03street production super bike or super sorry, Super sport bike,
- 33:06right? Or even super bike, you know,
- 33:10the IT seems like, I don't know, I can't, I haven't heard this in
- 33:15Moto 3 but Moto 2 and and Moto GP, you know, it's not a lot of
- 33:21feeling. It's the the feeling is there
- 33:23but it's not enough like street bikes.
- 33:25So you really you you, you, you know, I don't want to say you
- 33:29have to be Beethoven, you know, with your air or or something
- 33:33like that. But you really have to have
- 33:34that, you know, surgeon like feel to your hands and your legs
- 33:40to to be able to feel what the bike is doing because it's not
- 33:43going to give you a lot of feedback.
- 33:45So the little feedback you have to be able to interpret that
- 33:48that you get. And well, I know like this the,
- 33:53the strategy has to be different as well because having less
- 33:56tires for like Ducati, all right.
- 33:59So like, how do we use these 170 tires to get an advantage,
- 34:02right? And with Honda and Yamaha, like
- 34:05how do we use these extra tires to get an advantage?
- 34:08I knew one thing is for myself, I know when you got me into
- 34:12racing I couldn't afford tires like that.
- 34:15So I was always checking with you like, hey, how much tire you
- 34:19think I have left? You're like, oh, you got plenty
- 34:21of tires. So I kind of learned to ride on
- 34:25a used tire kind of to the end. And then as I started to get
- 34:30faster, I I I lost it on the tire because it it just had no
- 34:36life left. And that's how I started to
- 34:39figure out like how tires felt because then I threw on a a
- 34:42brand new rubber and you know, started to get a feel under me.
- 34:46And then it just everything just started to click a little more
- 34:49and yeah so. I I.
- 34:52I I definitely help? Sure.
- 34:56Yeah, I do like to use tires. I I'm not going to lie, I I
- 35:00remember changing the tire and they they do and.
- 35:05I'm saying thank you to and he gets me a lot of used tires, so.
- 35:09Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I was saying like, you know,
- 35:12I was changing my tire and and the focus guy was just like, you
- 35:18really wore that tire, huh? I was like, yeah, I started to
- 35:21get movement in in Turn 6. But you know it, you know, we've
- 35:25said this on the show before, being able to use tires and be
- 35:29able to manage them is, is, is very important when they use.
- 35:34So you know, a lot of people like to throw new rubbers on a
- 35:37few races and stuff like that. And you know, Moto GP doesn't
- 35:40get that super bike, all the top levels, you know, any of these
- 35:44endurance races stuff, they don't get that luxury.
- 35:48I mean obviously it's a cost so it's not a luxury.
- 35:50But you you have to learn how to manage that tire.
- 35:53You know and you know you know you're talking about the
- 35:56concessions and you look at KTM and you know Jack Miller, he's a
- 36:01rider that you know he he should he, he should be a top four, top
- 36:05five rider. And like it seems like the tire
- 36:09issues just really hurt them, right.
- 36:13Especially him. You know and other riders where
- 36:15other people like Pekko, Zarko, you know, Bizzacki, you know
- 36:21Mark Marquez, these guys can handle tires.
- 36:24You know Vignales can't handle used tire.
- 36:27You know post LH can't handle used tire.
- 36:30Well you see these guys. But other folks when when the
- 36:33tire goes down, you know what I'm saying, they still can, they
- 36:36still can hold their times. They may not go faster, but they
- 36:39don't really, you know, start to fall backwards.
- 36:42Yeah, that's that's one thing I noticed when when I use my used
- 36:48tires and with the competition I'm with and I started drifting
- 36:53back. I mean, yeah, they're really
- 36:54skilled. They're probably, you know,
- 36:58expanding their skills and stuff like that.
- 36:59But I'm just like, well, I feel myself drifting backwards,
- 37:03right, right. And the tire is done.
- 37:05Yeah. It's like Jack Miller needs to
- 37:07manage the tires a little better.
- 37:09They're getting actually 220 out of 170 over Ducati.
- 37:14So KTM is getting more tires this year, so hopefully I'll
- 37:17help Jack. Yeah, hopefully because you
- 37:20know, KTM is close, Aprilia is close and you know the like the
- 37:24concessions that you mentioned, you know, for Honda and Yamaha,
- 37:28it's a pride thing because they've dominated Moto GP for so
- 37:31long and that for them this is unheard of that Ducati is coming
- 37:36through. KTM, who just been in Moto GP
- 37:39from 2017 is doing better. It's a surprising for those two.
- 37:43So they they have no choice but to get better.
- 37:46But KTM, you know, probably these guys, you know, they've
- 37:51been, they've been struggling for a minute and they're just
- 37:54starting to see the light for the very, they're just starting
- 37:56to taste it for the very first time, you know, So, you know, is
- 38:01it fair for Ducati that they don't have the same concessions?
- 38:05I don't know what it was like before for them when they were
- 38:08struggling because they struggled from cases they they
- 38:112007 to you know, 2016, right. I'll say and I can I can even
- 38:18add one more on that. You know they and and I don't
- 38:21know if they had this, I don't know if they had concessions,
- 38:24you know, 'cause I'd have to go look at old videos and and just
- 38:28see if they were mentioning it concessions for those guys.
- 38:31But I don't know if they had them.
- 38:32So I don't know if it's like if it's if Ducati is like, OK,
- 38:36well, why these guys having concessions?
- 38:38Because they they, they, they haven't evolved, right.
- 38:41It's not like they don't got a whole bunch of world titles
- 38:43sitting, you know, in their, in their, in their, in their space,
- 38:46right. So I can see that, but say
- 38:50again. This is.
- 38:52I don't just think that it's not evolving the way the fastest.
- 38:57They want the sport to evolve, I guess.
- 38:58I don't know. Well I I they didn't they you
- 39:01know it's one of those things I think for the Japanese which is
- 39:06rare that they do but they when Ducati started developing wings
- 39:14and you know the ride height and and these things they didn't
- 39:19they're playing catch up right. They didn't they didn't they
- 39:22they they. I don't know if they were
- 39:24laughing at that, that Ducati and you know, I got wings, you
- 39:28know what I'm saying? All all this stuff, right?
- 39:29And your right height device. Yeah, whatever.
- 39:32You know lower rear spoiler for the rear tire to cool.
- 39:35But now they're copying Ducati, right?
- 39:38Everything that they're doing is copying Ducati and you can't be
- 39:42Benilli. I'm sorry.
- 39:43You can't be a cover band you can't you you you got to find a
- 39:47different path. And they have the engineering.
- 39:50They have the money. They have the smarts.
- 39:54So I I I assume, you know, based on past experience that they
- 39:59they will figure it out. Is it fair that they're getting
- 40:02concessions like they just got into Moto GPI kind of lean with
- 40:07Ducati on that because they can't figure it out.
- 40:09You know what I'm saying? Because the Lakers don't get
- 40:10concessions. The Celtics are not getting it.
- 40:12You know, I'm saying the Patriots that, you know what I
- 40:14mean? It's a different sport, I know
- 40:15different leagues and all this stuff, but they're not getting
- 40:18it. And Yamaha got money and and
- 40:21Honda has money, KTM has money. Probably only one that don't
- 40:24really have the money is affiliate.
- 40:27Out of the bunch, Ducati got money?
- 40:29Go Volkswagen, right? No, sorry, no.
- 40:34You know what I'm saying? So I I think that from from
- 40:38Ducati standpoint and they're taking the stands like hey, why
- 40:41do you getting these concessions?
- 40:42It is kind of like yo, you know, yeah, why are they?
- 40:46But from a motorsport point of view, I get it right, because,
- 40:52you know, you don't want all Ducatis on the grid from an
- 40:55entertainment, you know, standpoint.
- 40:57You got Yamaha fans, you got Honda fans, you got Aprilia fans
- 41:00and the Yamaha and the Honda fans.
- 41:03I mean, you know, I don't. I'm a fan of Ducatis.
- 41:06I've had, I've had enough to say I'm, I'm, I'm one of them.
- 41:09But at the same time, I suspect they're more Yamahas and Hondas
- 41:13than Ducatis around the world, you know what I'm saying?
- 41:16So say again. You you want to see them on on
- 41:20top once in a while too. Yeah, yeah.
- 41:22And. And they've been on top for a
- 41:23grip. So it's not like they ain't been
- 41:24on top. But from from Moto GP
- 41:27standpoint, from doing a FIM, these these guys, they're like,
- 41:31yo, you know, they want to see, you know, Yamaha's going,
- 41:35listen, Yamaha's going to sell less, Honda's going to sell less
- 41:41if they're not at the front. But there is, is this facts
- 41:44right and they're not going to get new business.
- 41:47They might get they, they might got their die hard supporters,
- 41:50but they ain't getting new business if they ain't winning.
- 41:54The sessions gets even better, so like Ducati has zero
- 41:59wildcards. Wow.
- 42:02Yamaha and Honda allow six. So I know like we used to see
- 42:08KTM with the little samurai Danny Pedrosa, you know, it's
- 42:12exciting to see him. You know, it's it's nice to see
- 42:14these type of riders come back. So the Cartier you ain't going
- 42:18to see, I mean they have eight bikes but you're not going to
- 42:20see any wild cards with them. They're also only allow seven or
- 42:26eight engines where Honda and Yamaha are allowed nine or 10.
- 42:31And again, I don't know how many engines they go through
- 42:33throughout the year. I don't think they really
- 42:34specify on that unless they go over.
- 42:38I guess I remember there was one year where team like I think
- 42:42Yamaha had to use an extra engine.
- 42:44They got penalized for it. But just keep in mind the the
- 42:49the for Ducati is 8 bikes so they still get a lot more
- 42:52engines than Honda and and think at.
- 42:57That goes like, hey, Part 2, let me get that.
- 42:59Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
- 43:02Exactly. And also the end of specs is on
- 43:04what it shows as freeze and I'm assuming that's just like yeah.
- 43:10Try new parts, yeah? Yeah and Honda Yamaha is it's
- 43:14free so they have free range and is they have two updates and
- 43:22everyone else is allowed one. So I can see why Ducati or I
- 43:28mean some of the rioters may just be like hey what is this?
- 43:31Sure, not as not as much for hunting Yamaha, but a Prairie
- 43:35and KTM. No.
- 43:37They had solid years too. Yeah, you know, it makes sense
- 43:39for for Ducati to be upset with it because they've dumped a lot
- 43:42of money into to be where they are.
- 43:44There's no question about it. It's not.
- 43:46They didn't get there by luck. They spent the money they want
- 43:48to. Be on top for years.
- 43:50Not not just one, two years, right?
- 43:53And and so for them, you know, and it and it gets tricky
- 43:56because when you get riders leaving and they're walking away
- 43:58with the tech, you saw what Jack Miller did for KTM with
- 44:02information he had from Ducati, right.
- 44:05And you going, we're probably going to see that with Luca and
- 44:08also Zarco. Those, those probably going to
- 44:11be the two fastest guys in Honda next year because they know
- 44:15something that the other riders don't know.
- 44:18And you know what I'm saying? So, but Ducati, you know, that's
- 44:22something that they're going to have to manage somehow.
- 44:24And I don't know how they do that because like I said, they
- 44:27always, a lot of the manufacturers have been copying
- 44:30Ducati now for at least four, four to five years, you know
- 44:35what I'm saying? So, you know, for them it it
- 44:37it's kind of like they're trying to fend off with rules and
- 44:41regulation, you know what I'm saying?
- 44:43As well as, you know, trying to keep what they're innovating top
- 44:46secret, which is very tough if they're changing riders.
- 44:49It was like a one time where I'm gonna just say give an example
- 44:53of when I saw Ducati Power. I was watching the first race a
- 44:57couple years ago at Luceo and Suzuki was going down the
- 45:02straightaway and Ducati just went by it like it was standing
- 45:06still and just like what the what?
- 45:10Like they couldn't handle the turns as much as Suzuki then,
- 45:13but but like they're that pop and power that they have.
- 45:17I'm sure it's because that when they hit the straightaway at
- 45:20that time they hit the ride height device at some riders.
- 45:24Some bikes didn't have and they have wings and I think they they
- 45:29got checked out too to make sure it wasn't cheating.
- 45:31But now everybody seems to have the same style bike with the
- 45:37with with the front. Wing and rear wing.
- 45:39Oh yeah, no, it's brake. And they're putting on tails and
- 45:44everywhere. And this stuff that Ducati has
- 45:46done that they've been forced to undo too.
- 45:48So it's not you know what I'm saying.
- 45:50So it is definitely you know they they've been trying to slow
- 45:55their their, their, their progression down for a little
- 45:57bit now and but you know look if Ducati reigned for another 10
- 46:03years, I'm not going to be upset, you know what I'm saying?
- 46:07But you know the powers to be ain't going.
- 46:10They they, you know, they're not letting you just running with it
- 46:13while which is the down, which is the downside, you know what
- 46:16I'm saying? So I do feel for them for not
- 46:17having the same concessions, especially when they really only
- 46:21been dominating a couple of years.
- 46:23It's not like they've been dominating 6 years, seven years
- 46:25and then they bring it in. It's only been a couple and but
- 46:29again, like I said for the competition overall and motors,
- 46:32Moto GP overall, you know Honda needs to have a skin in the
- 46:36game. But again when Honda was
- 46:38winning, Yamaha was winning. You know, everybody just made
- 46:42fun of Ducati. Man, yeah.
- 46:46I mean, I was riding. Everyone still loved Ducati, but
- 46:49I guess so. You know, you know you love the
- 46:53street bike, but they weren't, they weren't winning in Moto GP,
- 46:56right? So you.
- 46:57Know what I mean and and you know and that you know so, but
- 47:04it is what it is. So so you got everyone thinking
- 47:09Mark Marquez is going to win it this year.
- 47:12I mean and now he's on a Ducati so he doesn't get all the perks
- 47:16as Honda is getting this year. But I'm saying Pekko just won
- 47:20two in a row he he's dangerous for for year three, so.
- 47:25I I think for the next next year and the year after maybe the
- 47:30next three years. I know Mark wants to improve,
- 47:34but Pekko is in the way, right? Yeah, Ducati is going to win the
- 47:37world title. Yeah, next four years.
- 47:40It's just because it's eight of them.
- 47:42It's just eight of them and all eight has a has a good shot of
- 47:46winning. Yes, sure.
- 47:49You know what I'm saying? And and consistency too, you
- 47:53know what I mean? So I think the next three years
- 47:56easily, but you never know. Let's see what Pedro Acosta can
- 47:59do. He's he's definitely a wild
- 48:02horse. Jack Miller is still there.
- 48:05The KTMS are still there, three of them.
- 48:08All four KTMS. I I think all four KTMS.
- 48:11I'm not going to all four KTMS. I'll leave it at.
- 48:13That Andrew. I don't know if it's true, but a
- 48:15news clip has said that he is. It's crazy to consider him a run
- 48:20out for the world title as a rookie.
- 48:23I don't know. Look.
- 48:24He's probably not trying to put the pressure on himself or
- 48:27trying to have the hype, but I'm sure he is.
- 48:31I mean, he's so, look, I'm sure he's got to put something.
- 48:35Listen, and I say that with all with the big, biggest respect,
- 48:40whatever, Mark Marquez is the best rider in Moto GP.
- 48:47Right. Period.
- 48:50I know who won it the last two times.
- 48:52He's he's, he's the best rider in Moto GP Pedro's.
- 48:57He could. I'm not going to say never.
- 49:00He's not going to ride Mark Marquez, Pedro.
- 49:04I mean it it's possible. It's possible that at KTM with
- 49:09the new chassis, it gives him a feel because the it's there.
- 49:13It is a top five bikes, so it is there, right.
- 49:16I'm not going to sit here and say it's not there because he's
- 49:18going to have. I I don't know if they all have
- 49:202024 bikes or if he going to get the bikes that Brad or Jack
- 49:23have. So the bike is competitive
- 49:25enough for him to be in the top five, right?
- 49:28It it is so. But we'll see I I I I'm not and
- 49:36you know. Three months.
- 49:38Three months. Three months.
- 49:39I'm not going to I I I don't I don't see it.
- 49:41I I think Mark Marquez is is he has the skill set and the
- 49:46knowledge and he got the machine underneath him that everybody
- 49:51else is going to have to work a lot harder.
- 49:54And I, you know, and I'm not a Mark Marquez fan, like I'm not
- 49:57like you know, but you know watching the guy for these many
- 50:03years now and and and whatnot. You know, I don't have to like
- 50:07it. But I I see what it is.
- 50:08I it's you know what I'm saying And Pekko's going to have to
- 50:11ride next year. Martinez going to have to ride
- 50:14all of them going to have to ride next year and and it's
- 50:17because you you have to realize it's like you know it's like
- 50:25Michael Jordan having the best supporting cast around him.
- 50:30You know Marquez had on that Ducati.
- 50:32Now it it's just like yo bro, I got the same weapon as you and I
- 50:36didn't have the same weapon as you and I was giving y'all
- 50:38trouble so so so now I got the same weapon as you So what what
- 50:45I just got to follow. Yeah.
- 50:47I already follow you all around on a Honda so I'm going to
- 50:49follow you around on Ducati. Yeah.
- 50:52He couldn't even break a smile. He was so happy.
- 50:54I know we talked about it before me.
- 50:56He's like, yeah, yeah, all in trouble.
- 50:57Yeah, no, I like, so I'm not rooting for him.
- 51:00You know, I'm a fan of the the VR 46 guys and and that I'm a
- 51:05fan of Ducati. You know, I'm saying.
- 51:07But at the same time I got to recognize what it is and like,
- 51:10yeah, you know what I'm saying? That meant that dude that, you
- 51:14know, how can I put it, like they they regardless if they
- 51:19looked up to him or Rossi, he was there.
- 51:22So whatever, whatever, you know, I don't know.
- 51:26We'll see what happened. But these other riders, they
- 51:30going to have to, they going to have to step their game up.
- 51:33Well, well, that's the most interesting thing about race
- 51:37one, because it sets the tone for the season.
- 51:40I mean, obviously first couple races will really set the tone
- 51:44of where everyone stands. But race one like you think
- 51:46about it, like Mark Marquez, race one is like, all right, if
- 51:50I'm going to win this, I got to start out good.
- 51:52Echo's like there's no way I can be less than podium Martinez.
- 51:57Like I got to start good. You know, all these guys on new
- 52:02manufacturers like Alex Renz. I'm sure he didn't want to be on
- 52:06a Honda. So because he, he was forced to.
- 52:08Because. Because.
- 52:09Rookie's got down. So now he's got a new slate.
- 52:11He's like, I got to start good. Alicia's probably saying I'm
- 52:14retiring at 35. I got to have a nice good last
- 52:18year, good run. I mean these are all good riders
- 52:21and and Bezeki, you got Bassinini, there's so many that
- 52:25I think like. I I will say this Rinz.
- 52:29To me, Rinz is a better rider than Quatarara, so I didn't.
- 52:33Even mention quatarara. You didn't.
- 52:35I'm but I'm but but but but I'm saying like like Rinz on that
- 52:39Yamaha I think is going to be able to do things on the Yamaha
- 52:43that Quatarara because he was able to do it on the on the
- 52:45Suzuki he was able to do it on a Honda right and and he the
- 52:51tracks where white huh. I say he won on a Honda.
- 52:55That's what I'm saying, That's what I'm saying.
- 52:56That's what I'm saying. I'm like, he ain't got a title,
- 52:58but Renzi ain't no slouch and he got a bite that he and and the
- 53:02Yamaha is similar to the Suzuki on how it turns.
- 53:06So he that's like he's going back home, you know what I mean?
- 53:11So and then. But you know, but but you know
- 53:14it. It's like to go back to Juan
- 53:17Marquez and and and what and what will we may see next year.
- 53:23I I think there's the mental game like again it it it is
- 53:28like, yo, you know, that's one thing.
- 53:32He has that. No one else really does.
- 53:34He plays the mental game with riders, yeah.
- 53:36It's just you know it is it's like LeBron James going to the
- 53:40to to Miami or KD going to the Warriors.
- 53:44You know what I'm saying? You know you you got one of the
- 53:47best talent going to on on on the best bike and you know if if
- 53:55if it was me and and I and I had a team and I had to pick between
- 54:00these guys as much as. Again, I'm not a Marquez fan,
- 54:04but if I own A-Team and I want to ride it out of all 8 writers,
- 54:09that's on that On that team I'm picking Mark Marquez, not.
- 54:14A bad choice. Like, no, I I I am.
- 54:16And yeah, I hate to say it like that, but that's like he's like,
- 54:20on not even on paper, on facts, you know, I'm saying he got the
- 54:24most, he got more wins than anybody else.
- 54:26He has he he has no one to fear. In Moto GP, the only person he
- 54:31probably kind of sort of feared was Rossi.
- 54:36Kind of. He's sort of like, he's not
- 54:39going to fear any of these guys that like, you're you're Rossi's
- 54:41kids. I'm like, yeah, I'm not.
- 54:44I'm not that you're Rossi's kids.
- 54:46Come on. I mean, I'm not going to lie.
- 54:49I mean, I thought before I started watching, I thought it
- 54:52was Rossi, Mark Marquez. I'm not.
- 54:56I don't even remember who I thought was under Mark Marquez.
- 54:59Right. Yeah, but.
- 55:00Then Pekko came out of nowhere, Fabio came out of nowhere.
- 55:03And then you know Juwan Mir got his.
- 55:07But Mar Marquez was hurt. And the bikes.
- 55:09Yeah, exactly. Marquez was hurt, So, you know,
- 55:13I feel like he's still king of this sport right now.
- 55:16He I I I I think so. And after watching the test.
- 55:21Hard to see him winning it. That's the main thing.
- 55:23I really. I really.
- 55:24If he if he stays healthy, he's in the hunt.
- 55:28If he stays healthy, if he stays healthy, I mean he can have, he
- 55:33can ride around problems with. When he was half healthy, right,
- 55:37a year or two ago, he was still top five exactly.
- 55:39Rider of the year? Exactly.
- 55:41Exactly. So that's what I'm saying like.
- 55:44Right. Yeah, yeah, no.
- 55:46If I would say this, if Mark Marquez come out and ride like
- 55:50Lorenzo, meaning that he goes out and just sets his own pace
- 55:54on practice and and and qualifying and stuff like that,
- 55:57he he he probably going to have a lot of polls.
- 56:02That was Marcus. Mark Marquez stays at.
- 56:06Keep the two wheels down. That's it.
- 56:08So. I hate to be talking about that
- 56:09much, 'cause I'm not a I'm not like, I'm not a fan.
- 56:12But it in reality is he's a good, he's a great writer and
- 56:16he's on a great machine and he doesn't fear these younger
- 56:19riders because he he gave, he gave your boy a problem, you
- 56:24know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying?
- 56:27He he gave your boy a problem and he's trying to chase more
- 56:29titles than your boy. So he don't see y'all.
- 56:32He don't see nobody. You don't he don't see nobody.
- 56:35He don't see nobody. Like y'all like, I'll do this
- 56:39for free, 'cause they he and and it's, you know, it is what it
- 56:44is, right? I mean, you know, he's where
- 56:46he's at and it is what it is. What should have happened was
- 56:50Jen. Antonio should have stayed where
- 56:52he was and we wouldn't be having this conversation.
- 56:54But that didn't happen. I'm going to say relationships
- 56:59is everything too, though, So I'm sure Digi had a great
- 57:04relationship with you see like where he speaks, he means Ross
- 57:07wherever he goes for. Sure.
- 57:09No, but it's like if you can get Rossi or you can get Michael
- 57:12Jordan, if you can get Mike, Mark Marquez, you, especially
- 57:15when you're a satellite team, you're going to do it, right?
- 57:18You're going to do it. I don't.
- 57:19I don't. You're going to do it.
- 57:20But you know, I can't wait for next season, man.
- 57:23That's all I can say. It's it's a no brainer to have
- 57:26another family member if you could too.
- 57:28Like how easy is that they can drive home together.
- 57:31Like I don't know. It's just it's so much easier.
- 57:35I'm assuming so. But yeah they must have a great
- 57:38relationship and as we know it's like our club racing series
- 57:43Neymar is just second and none. Like, I know, like it's just I
- 57:47feel at home when I get there. So I would have to be traded to
- 57:51another organization, would be a little hard.
- 57:53I would be, you know, been bred into a good organization.
- 57:58No doubt. I feel you there.
- 58:01We we we are running out of time, but we got to touch on
- 58:04Ninja. Ninja Kawasaki has a Ninja 500
- 58:07coming out. April, you got ARS 457 coming
- 58:12out bigger. Twin engines.
- 58:14Is there a new racing class coming for us?
- 58:17It seems like it 'cause I'm seeing like R Sevens and R and
- 58:21Eights and all these other bikes, but like this Ninja 500,
- 58:25like when I first started it was Ninja 300 and then when I when I
- 58:29rented a bike it's the Ninja 400.
- 58:31Now they have a Ninja 500. Like what's going on?
- 58:35I don't know, I I I can't wait. These small bikes, man, they're
- 58:38fun to ride. They're really great bikes to
- 58:40train on and and and get better on.
- 58:42So you know, having a little a bike with a little bit more
- 58:46horsepower that you can go out there and and go a little bit
- 58:49faster than the KTM or Ninja 400 or some or 300 or whatever the
- 58:53case may be, but you're not really jumping up to like a
- 58:55middle weight class and stuff like that or even a lightweight
- 58:58class. It's really nice to have that.
- 59:01So you know, I think they recognize the market and sees it
- 59:05and kudos for both those brands for doing that.
- 59:09Yeah, I mean, these new bikes are starting to look like like
- 59:14you walk up to them, you can't even tell like what what size is
- 59:17that, what year is that? They They're looking that good.
- 59:20So it looks pretty nice this, this Ninja 500.
- 59:24Of course they got the Keep the Cowie Green colors, hey.
- 59:29Listen man. Just what it is you know we
- 59:31believe green up that way man. Come on.
- 59:33Right. Wait to.
- 59:35See if there any other colors, but the green one looks very
- 59:38nice, no doubt. Shout out the sponsor.
- 59:41My niece to get one. There you go.
- 59:43Somebody gotta get one. You gotta get.
- 59:45One, She got a She got a She got a Kawasaki?
- 59:49No. Yeah, she got a 250 out here.
- 59:52Time for upgrade? Shout out to the sponsors GoPro,
- 59:56Agio Engine, Ice Mode Tool, Hamden Yard, I want to tell her.

- 1:00:12you want to shout out your sponsors.
- 1:00:14I like to thank everybody for watching for sure and like and
- 1:00:18subscribe. And I like to thank Vortex and
- 1:00:22Hideaway Rentals and J&G Performance and Woodcraft and
- 1:00:26Technology As for always being available and helping me out.
- 1:00:30Thank you guys. Peace.
- 1:00:33Peace out.
