I am Jeff Beck, joined every single week of my course, 7 00:00:35,000 --> 00:00:39,000 the only doctorate Franklin. Dr. Tray, this intro is a little bit quiet 8 00:00:39,000 --> 00:00:42,000 because my son just went down to go to sleep like that. 9 00:00:42,000 --> 00:00:48,000 You had to squeeze that one out like they didn't hear the original one 10 00:00:48,000 --> 00:00:53,000 where your voice kind of gave out. But yeah, that's the joys of parenthood, 11 00:00:53,000 --> 00:00:58,000 the joys of fatherhood is don't wake the baby. 12 00:00:58,000 --> 00:01:03,000 Yeah, no, no. I mean, I literally, our recording was delayed about an hour 13 00:01:03,000 --> 00:01:06,000 and as I got in here and I'm setting everything up, my wife is bringing my son 14 00:01:06,000 --> 00:01:11,000 in to go to sleep. I'm like, "Oh God, if I wake him up, I am an absolute dead man." 15 00:01:11,000 --> 00:01:16,000 So, yeah, a little bit quieter than normal with the intro and then, yeah, the breaking it down. 16 00:01:16,000 --> 00:01:24,000 We always talk about how bad my allergies are, Dr. Tray. For the last 11 to 12 days, 17 00:01:24,000 --> 00:01:32,000 I can semi hear out of my right ear. I know this is not like old man cast 18 00:01:32,000 --> 00:01:40,000 with Dr. Tray and Jeff Beck, but I didn't even know this was this thing. 19 00:01:40,000 --> 00:01:48,000 The station tubes? Have you ever had that before? There's station tube dysfunction right now, 20 00:01:48,000 --> 00:01:53,000 which sounds like you take the T out. It's E-T-D, you take the T out, it's E-D. 21 00:01:53,000 --> 00:01:56,000 And I'm not that old. 22 00:01:56,000 --> 00:02:01,000 Oh, no, I'm like, it's funny because as you got on the show today, 23 00:02:01,000 --> 00:02:05,000 I was talking to my wife and she was checking on me because I've been sitting in my car 24 00:02:05,000 --> 00:02:11,000 for an hour, waiting for you to arrive, but then also still handling work stuff and everything else. 25 00:02:11,000 --> 00:02:15,000 And she's going in for neck fusion surgery. 26 00:02:15,000 --> 00:02:17,000 Wow, like an engine curtain? 27 00:02:17,000 --> 00:02:24,000 Yeah, like she heard what C5 and C6 are shot, so she has to go in and get that repaired 28 00:02:24,000 --> 00:02:29,000 and then she has her jeans and everything else. And then I listened to, you know, 29 00:02:29,000 --> 00:02:38,000 you and her both are about 10 years younger than me. And I'm like, how am I this beacon of health in this weird circle I am? 30 00:02:38,000 --> 00:02:41,000 And you would like to smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, right? 31 00:02:41,000 --> 00:02:46,000 Yeah, yeah, almost like by the time I quit a year ago, I was almost two packs a day. 32 00:02:46,000 --> 00:02:51,000 Like my blood pressure is normal, my cholesterol is good, my heart's good. 33 00:02:51,000 --> 00:02:58,000 I only sleep about five hours a night, I work six days a week, I'm on the road a lot of it. 34 00:02:58,000 --> 00:03:02,000 I'm like, how am I the one that's like not breaking? I say not breaking down, but I'm also 35 00:03:02,000 --> 00:03:06,000 that had massive rickia start a foot surgery, but that was because of a work injuries, 36 00:03:06,000 --> 00:03:10,000 not just old age catching up. It's literally like, I look around. 37 00:03:10,000 --> 00:03:14,000 I'm like, damn, I'm taking care of a lot of folks who are a lot younger than me. This is weird. 38 00:03:14,000 --> 00:03:16,000 I don't know how this plays out. 39 00:03:16,000 --> 00:03:22,000 Yeah, it's, I don't know, man, like, do we talk, we talked with Sun last week show, 40 00:03:22,000 --> 00:03:27,000 like once you at like 35 years old, I feel like you just all of a sudden break down very easily. 41 00:03:27,000 --> 00:03:29,000 And that's kind of where I'm at in my life. 42 00:03:29,000 --> 00:03:34,000 Yeah, I mean, it happens. I mean, it just, it takes longer to recover. 43 00:03:34,000 --> 00:03:39,000 So as long as you, as long as if you're dealing with one thing at a time, you're good. 44 00:03:39,000 --> 00:03:43,000 It's just when you just have a couple of compound things hit, hit you at one time, like, 45 00:03:43,000 --> 00:03:47,000 if your allergy hits you the same time that same day, your back hurts, 46 00:03:47,000 --> 00:03:52,000 you just feel like you're shutting down like, oh, my God, this is all because it takes longer to recover. 47 00:03:52,000 --> 00:03:57,000 So like, when your voice goes out, like, my voice goes out after every rocket city show. 48 00:03:57,000 --> 00:04:01,000 And it used to be like, I could sleep the next day. I'd be fine. 49 00:04:01,000 --> 00:04:05,000 No, it takes about 48 hours for my voice to recover now. 50 00:04:05,000 --> 00:04:13,000 Now, if I got hit with allergy or a cold on top of it, yeah, I'm wiped out, but it just takes longer to recover. 51 00:04:13,000 --> 00:04:18,000 So it takes, it feels like everything is just miserable for a while. 52 00:04:18,000 --> 00:04:23,000 So that is a little preview of our new podcast, just health issues. 53 00:04:23,000 --> 00:04:27,000 Dr. Dre Franklin and Jeff Pack is going to be a new podcast thing that we're doing. 54 00:04:27,000 --> 00:04:31,000 This is when we go get positive feedback for this one. 55 00:04:31,000 --> 00:04:35,000 He goes from dad cast to grandpa cast and you're the, the lone dad left, 56 00:04:35,000 --> 00:04:42,000 because I literally, by the way, congratulations, young Sammy Franklin, who graduated kindergarten yesterday. 57 00:04:42,000 --> 00:04:44,000 Congratulations, Sammy. 58 00:04:44,000 --> 00:04:50,000 But in two weeks, I'll be in North Carolina for my other kids high school graduation. 59 00:04:50,000 --> 00:04:52,000 Great. Yeah, thank you. 60 00:04:52,000 --> 00:05:00,000 Yeah, so technically, me, Bauer, CAUSE could almost start grandpa cast and you would be the young guy on there talking about toddlers and stuff. 61 00:05:00,000 --> 00:05:12,000 Hey, it would be like the wheelhouse all over again back in my day, starting where it was like two guys in their late 30s, early 40s talking about parenting and life of in this young whipper snack or snapper 20 year old like me. 62 00:05:12,000 --> 00:05:18,000 Just kind of enjoying life and partying and all that stuff and those days are long gone. 63 00:05:18,000 --> 00:05:20,000 That was 16 years ago on. 64 00:05:20,000 --> 00:05:24,000 I don't know if I miss him, but honestly, I really don't. I enjoy my life right now. 65 00:05:24,000 --> 00:05:29,000 With that being said, Dr. Dre, let's talk some professional wrestling this week. 66 00:05:29,000 --> 00:05:35,000 We have a big weekend here Memorial Day weekend. We have Saturday Night's Main event, WWE Battleground, AWW Double or Nothing. 67 00:05:35,000 --> 00:05:42,000 And the big thing I want to talk about here is this has always been AWW Double or Nothing weekend. 68 00:05:42,000 --> 00:05:47,000 Always Memorial Day since they launched the 2019 WWE. 69 00:05:47,000 --> 00:05:53,000 I think they did a pay-per-view or PLE last year, but on the Saturday of that weekend, I think it was the NXT show. 70 00:05:53,000 --> 00:06:03,000 This year, they're going back to back. There's some rumblings that they're going to be doing a Saturday Night's Main event and WWE Evolution 2, the All Women's Pay-Per-View in July. 71 00:06:03,000 --> 00:06:10,000 The same weekend as all in. With that said, is WWE being Dix for doing this to AWW? 72 00:06:10,000 --> 00:06:15,000 Or is it perfectly fine and good for competition or is AW asking for it? 73 00:06:15,000 --> 00:06:21,000 Because I think I can make an argument for both. I think I will probably go a little bit more like, yeah, they're being Dix. 74 00:06:21,000 --> 00:06:25,000 But there is a part where I'm like, I can understand why WWE is doing this. 75 00:06:25,000 --> 00:06:30,000 I mean, are they being Dix? Yeah, because at the end of the day is still business. 76 00:06:30,000 --> 00:06:37,000 And if you know you have an audience that's getting excited to watch wrestling, why not try to draw some of them back to you? 77 00:06:37,000 --> 00:06:43,000 I mean, dealing in retail, we see this all the time. You see a company is running a huge sale, they're all setting it up. 78 00:06:43,000 --> 00:06:46,000 Three other companies pop up with big sales also. 79 00:06:46,000 --> 00:06:55,000 So it's a total dick move, but the flip side is companies used to do this to WWE. 80 00:06:55,000 --> 00:07:00,000 You know, you go back and think of like WCW with throw up a random pay-per-view. 81 00:07:00,000 --> 00:07:11,000 AEW would do free shows like T&A. They've all done stuff. It's just WWE doing it back to them and it makes them, because they're the bigger company, they look more like a dick. 82 00:07:11,000 --> 00:07:15,000 Like, why can't you just let the little guys have their weekend? 83 00:07:15,000 --> 00:07:20,000 Well, because we're trying to make money too. Does AEW deserve it? 84 00:07:20,000 --> 00:07:30,000 Yeah, to a degree. I mean, they poke the bear that they stick it in there every now and then and just kind of rattle up the base and it's like, all right, well, let's throw a shot back out. 85 00:07:30,000 --> 00:07:36,000 But it's not like they're moving, I mean, they're running battleground and Saturday night's main event up against this. 86 00:07:36,000 --> 00:07:43,000 Not like they're moving money in the bank to Memorial Day weekend. They're not moving summer slam to Memorial Day. 87 00:07:43,000 --> 00:07:55,000 It's Saturday night's main event. It's a free show you can watch and battleground will be on it like, you know, what, two in the afternoon or the more like they're not in peak hour competition either. 88 00:07:55,000 --> 00:07:58,000 I thought battleground, battlegrounds aren't airing at the same time. 89 00:07:58,000 --> 00:08:02,000 I know, I don't know. I honestly have not looked and see the schedule. 90 00:08:02,000 --> 00:08:04,000 Oh, okay. I was like, wait a minute. 91 00:08:04,000 --> 00:08:12,000 It's a Saturday night. It's a Saturday night. It's a set, it's a weekend. A lot of times I have other stuff going on, so I have to catch up on replays. 92 00:08:12,000 --> 00:08:28,000 But that's the other thing. Like if you're a WWE fan and an AEW fan, you just watch the AEW pay-per-view live and then you catch battleground and Saturday's main event the next day on, on Pekock or, you know, however you stream it and then you still watch all of it. 93 00:08:28,000 --> 00:08:38,000 It's just, it's a dick move, try to take some of the live pay-per-view audience away from those casual fans that might be kind of toying with which one do I want to watch? 94 00:08:38,000 --> 00:08:54,000 Yeah, I mean, I agree. I think it's a dick move by WWE, but I do feel like that they've been pressed to do this. And I often think about that things got really heated and personal when Tony Khan called him, the Harvey Weinstein professional wrestling. 95 00:08:54,000 --> 00:09:05,000 Like that right there, I felt like, oh God, this is, and really, I mean, AEW is, there is some serious blood in the water for AEW right now, right? 96 00:09:05,000 --> 00:09:27,000 And it says, in the last, cheese, five months, all of 2025, look at all the people who have jumped over from AEW, to WWE. It's Penta, it's Ray Phoenix, it's Rusev returning, it's Alice of Black returning, Ricky Starks, and there's Rumble into Mariah May wanting to come to WWE. 97 00:09:27,000 --> 00:09:40,000 Like those are some really big names for Ray WWE, those are some, nearly some of them are originals from day one, the Lucha Bros, and then Rusev coming along, and then Ricky Starks coming along in that 2020 era, Malachi Black, now Alice of Black again. 98 00:09:40,000 --> 00:09:47,000 I think came in, in 2021 where I may really start to take it off, I think in 2022, 2023 and AEW. 99 00:09:47,000 --> 00:09:59,000 Like those are some major names that have left the company to go to WWE, and then you think about who's come over to, from WWE over to AEW in the last year, and I can't think of anyone. 100 00:09:59,000 --> 00:10:09,000 In 2025, I think the last one that was up substance was Ricochet in late 2024 when he debuted at all in, over in London. 101 00:10:09,000 --> 00:10:16,000 Outside of that, there's not as many people jumping over from WWE to AEW as there was, many years ago. 102 00:10:16,000 --> 00:10:23,000 There was a period of time when all the, some of those names I just named, Rusev, now known as Miro, Alice of Black, Malachi Black. 103 00:10:23,000 --> 00:10:29,000 When people were jumping from WWE to AEW, it felt like there was blood in the water on the WWE side. 104 00:10:29,000 --> 00:10:42,000 Now with the way that viewership has gone down for AEW where AEW was like pulling away in viewership, at least always had 150 to 200,000 viewers more than NXT each week. 105 00:10:42,000 --> 00:10:56,000 And now they are chasing NXT. I think that they beat them in viewership recently, but for the most part they are chasing NXT, which was the brand that they, you know, basically destroyed the black and gold era of NXT. 106 00:10:56,000 --> 00:11:01,000 And they were doing victory laps as they should, that they were able to accomplish that. 107 00:11:01,000 --> 00:11:12,000 So there's blood in the water right now, WWE is firing all cylinders, there is some ups and downs with their creative. I don't think it's as good as it was in 2024. 108 00:11:12,000 --> 00:11:25,000 But we've talked about that, but with the blood in the water, it really feels like this is the evil empire, like the Jedi are retreating, Dr. Tray, and they are firing, and they're not stopping. 109 00:11:25,000 --> 00:11:36,000 They see blood in the water, and they want to make sure that they get AEW in full retreat right now, because not only are they beat them in viewership, but now they're partnering with TNA Wrestling, they've required AAA. 110 00:11:36,000 --> 00:11:50,000 And these are people that were partnering with AEW. It's like a very serious scenario here, and yeah, I mean I could kind of understand why WWE is doing that because Tony Khan has been very pleasant in interviews back to WWE. 111 00:11:50,000 --> 00:11:59,000 I mean, it's a little bit like when the Yankee signed Johnny David, you know, it's like they felt they saw that Kink in the armor that the Red Sox had and they jumped on. 112 00:11:59,000 --> 00:12:07,000 It's like, kind of like the Dodgers now, like those guys, those big evil empires, when they see a Kink in the armor, they're gonna go after. 113 00:12:07,000 --> 00:12:17,000 But you're right, I mean, you mentioned a lot of people that jumped on, I mean, look at Stephanie Vakor, who appeared on an AEW pay-per-view, and then a couple of weeks later, signs with WWE. 114 00:12:17,000 --> 00:12:25,000 You know, you see these guys who jumped from WWE to AEW and then with their contracts under like, okay, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. 115 00:12:25,000 --> 00:12:29,000 Let me go back to at least how I know I'll be used, you know. 116 00:12:29,000 --> 00:12:37,000 You mentioned Ricochet, I mean the hurt business, lashley, did you think when Bobby lashley jumped to AEW, he'd be a tag team champion? 117 00:12:37,000 --> 00:12:39,000 No, no, I could, yeah. 118 00:12:39,000 --> 00:12:47,000 I mean, to me, that's just like, all right, yeah, I get that, hey, you gotta have Shelton do something also, so let's make him tag chance. 119 00:12:47,000 --> 00:12:52,000 But that's not on the same level of what lashley was competing for in WWE. 120 00:12:52,000 --> 00:13:01,000 This is a guy that was wrestling Brock Lesnar, like was one of the biggest breakout stars of the pandemic era as, you know, the almighty Bobby lashley. 121 00:13:01,000 --> 00:13:09,000 And he's in a tag team with Shelton Benjamin and being overshadowed to a degree by MJF in this situation. 122 00:13:09,000 --> 00:13:14,000 It is a little bit of like, yeah, just don't be careful what you asked for because you might get it. 123 00:13:14,000 --> 00:13:20,000 Like, it's not great. And so when WWE sees Kinks in the armor, they've done this for as long as you and I have been alive. 124 00:13:20,000 --> 00:13:26,000 If they see a Kink in the armor or something they can go after to put the other guy down, they're gonna go after it. 125 00:13:26,000 --> 00:13:33,000 And what's even more telling is you think of all the people WWE have released over the last year. 126 00:13:33,000 --> 00:13:38,000 None of them are really signed with AW outside of Shelton and Bobby lashley. 127 00:13:38,000 --> 00:13:41,000 Like, nobody's really making a jump. People are going to TNA. 128 00:13:41,000 --> 00:13:46,000 You look at the indie heart wells of the world. People like that who are going and signing with TNA. 129 00:13:46,000 --> 00:13:51,000 You know, Nick Nemeth. Nick Nemeth didn't jump to AW. Nick Nemeth went to TNA. 130 00:13:51,000 --> 00:13:57,000 You know, they're looking at it and going, do I really want to go there and see how everybody else has been used? 131 00:13:57,000 --> 00:14:02,000 Or do I want to have a little more control or my character reinvent myself? 132 00:14:02,000 --> 00:14:12,000 And either maybe get resigned to WWE or just do the Matt Cargona thing and make more money doing what I want to do and having that kind of freedom. 133 00:14:12,000 --> 00:14:18,000 It's really telling that all this stuff is going on with AW. And it's not from lack of effort. 134 00:14:18,000 --> 00:14:22,000 I mean, dear God, we know those guys bust their ass in the ring each and every week. 135 00:14:22,000 --> 00:14:31,000 It's just the things that you and I have discussed for five years about the problems that they had early on are still there now and it hasn't been corrected. 136 00:14:31,000 --> 00:14:37,000 So with that said, Dr. Trey, double or nothing, we've always argued this on the show of like, what is their WrestleMania? 137 00:14:37,000 --> 00:14:46,000 And up until All in London, all that stuff that was going on, we always felt like, or I always felt like double or nothing was their WrestleMania. 138 00:14:46,000 --> 00:14:51,000 It's obviously one of their big shows. It's a flagship show and it was always a big deal. 139 00:14:51,000 --> 00:15:01,000 It was the launch of AEW back in 2019. This was their first pay-per-view show that they did as an organization, as a wrestling promotion. 140 00:15:01,000 --> 00:15:04,000 Here we are, going to the weekend here. 141 00:15:04,000 --> 00:15:13,000 I am about three to four episodes behind Total Dynamite Collision from current storylines in AEW. 142 00:15:13,000 --> 00:15:19,000 I've been trying to catch up. It really I felt behind what I went away on vacation after WrestleMania. 143 00:15:19,000 --> 00:15:30,000 But I'm not like having this strong desire on a nice summer day, on a Saturday, like or spring day on a Saturday, I should say, to plow through all the AEW shows to get caught back up on it. 144 00:15:30,000 --> 00:15:39,000 I'm like, kind of taking my time on prioritizing WWE. It's double or nothing weekend, which was a big deal for me as an AEW fan, as a wrestling fan. 145 00:15:39,000 --> 00:15:46,000 I know the answer. I'm not hyped, but are you hyped for AEW, double or nothing this Sunday? 146 00:15:46,000 --> 00:15:55,000 So I'm a few weeks behind as well. Playing catch up, I only know one match on the card off top of my head. 147 00:15:55,000 --> 00:16:02,000 I don't even know what's on the card right now. That's how behind and unfocused I've been on AEW. 148 00:16:02,000 --> 00:16:10,000 And I hate saying it because we have a lot of listeners who are diehard AEW fans. I hate saying it, but I don't even really know who's on the card. 149 00:16:10,000 --> 00:16:19,000 Like what the card is. So like, yeah, I'm kind of completely tuned out on it right now. Other than like the stuff I want to see they're putting on collision. 150 00:16:19,000 --> 00:16:22,000 Like I want to see Joe and Mox go at it and it was on collision. 151 00:16:22,000 --> 00:16:28,000 Well, what match are you going to put Mox in right now for double or nothing that's going to be better than that? 152 00:16:28,000 --> 00:16:36,000 Like I just I'm kind of tuned out on everything they're doing right now. It sucks because like there are some great guys that I love watching. 153 00:16:36,000 --> 00:16:42,000 I'm just I'm behind, but being behind hasn't got me excited for anything on the card. 154 00:16:42,000 --> 00:16:48,000 The only match I know about is the hurts syndicate versus the sons of Texas. That's the only match on top of my head. 155 00:16:48,000 --> 00:16:51,000 You don't want to spray hang man. 156 00:16:51,000 --> 00:16:54,000 Oh, that's at the final is at the finals of the Owen. 157 00:16:54,000 --> 00:17:02,000 Say this is what I'm saying. This is like this is bad right for once again. Why do like I don't like watching two good guys fight. 158 00:17:02,000 --> 00:17:09,000 I just it's not my nature like to me. This is sometimes they forget that this is television. 159 00:17:09,000 --> 00:17:16,000 Not actual sports and I'm sorry I said that and this is the still real to a show. 160 00:17:16,000 --> 00:17:23,000 But I need my good guys to fight the bad guys and have a reason why they're fighting other than just if I Jeff if I want to watch a match between two. 161 00:17:23,000 --> 00:17:31,000 People I like or if I want to watch something with two things I like going for a trophy I can watch hockey. 162 00:17:31,000 --> 00:17:37,000 The Stanley Cup playoffs are going on the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers. I like ball teams. 163 00:17:37,000 --> 00:17:48,000 I can watch that I give me a reason to buy I have to spend my hard earned dollars to tune into this product to be entertained by it. 164 00:17:48,000 --> 00:17:57,000 Jeff I can take Sam and go watch the new Lilo and stitch movie Friday night be entertained for three hours and spend a lot less than sixty dollars on a pay review. 165 00:17:57,000 --> 00:18:08,000 I mean I mean if you had in pop words Sam you might just go hungry. I don't know but give me some compelling television to tune into to invest money and time in your product. 166 00:18:08,000 --> 00:18:12,000 Otherwise I'm so sick to collision and dynamite. 167 00:18:12,000 --> 00:18:27,000 Yes so this is what's what's interesting here is I felt like back in 2019 when everything was going really well AW launched WWE was obviously pushing raw and actually smack down you've done a my you had rampage. 168 00:18:27,000 --> 00:18:41,000 And then eventually the addition of collision and then WWE had all this other content whether it be on a need and you've got vice TV putting out dark side of the ring whatever it is right and I understand if you're listening to this podcast if you're like us you're a die hard wrestling fan. 169 00:18:41,000 --> 00:19:10,000 But I felt like that type of wrestling content the amount of wrestling content that was out there especially if you were somebody like us who was trying to watch WWE and AW there was going to reach a point where when we're going to say enough enough and that's what I kind of feel like I'm wondering is happened here for you and I both where I tried to fight the good fight for the AW over the last two years and I would say ever since since the punk situation and calling the amount on creative and just kind of watching attendance to window the show. 170 00:19:10,000 --> 00:19:26,000 Dwindle stuff like that and believe me when I say that there are glimmers of of entertainment that are out there I would say right now the stuff that I have watched with AW over the last several weeks has been good has it been as good as it was from like 2019 to 2022 absolutely not. 171 00:19:26,000 --> 00:19:55,000 The buzz is off the shine is off and it just reached a point where I felt like it was so much content where a sane person was going to have to tap out and I wonder if we have reached that point out to try and if most majority of wrestling fans have reached that point where they're like just for the sake of their family and other things they may want to watch that they need to pick a show that they're going to predominantly watch because that's what I've honestly done and I do a podcast it's WWE. 172 00:19:55,000 --> 00:20:24,000 It's WWE is what I prioritize as the AW viewership went down you know we're not going to extensively cover AW as much as we we used to because just the glimmers off the buzz is off it's having lower viewership than NXT we don't cover NXT like we used to so why would I do AW the same and I just want to if as we had in a double or nothing weekend 2025 if that is that watershed moment of like holy crap it's officially over the honeymoon air of AW's. 173 00:20:24,000 --> 00:20:53,000 Yeah I mean the high moon air is definitely over because like even the die hard fans of AW are saying hey this is what we want like you actually hear people who have been watching since day one actually openly complained about the product and you and I have done this with WWE in the you know damn near two decades we've been covering them like if the products bad we call them out of if something is good we give them great and we're going to be in the way we're going to be in the way we're going to do it. 174 00:20:53,000 --> 00:21:11,000 We give them great and you know like this like is it the stuff with certain characters on the show of AW like it's still good but the totality of it all is like man do I really want to invest all this time and effort or something that's going to keep disappointing me like I don't know like did you were you a game of thrones guy. 175 00:21:11,000 --> 00:21:40,800 I did not watch came from I was more like breaking bad that type of stuff so if you had like there at one point breaking bad and what was the crime show the mob show the sopranos of the sopranos like there was times of those shows would be on at the same time and you sometimes had to make a choice which one you wanted to watch what effort you know right then and there came out which one you want to watch second like that's kind of where we're going to be like it's just like the 176 00:21:40,800 --> 00:22:10,600 I can watch w to be alive I can tune on Netflix when it comes on if if I had access to the USA channel right now I can tune on Smackdown when it's on and watch it like because I know 90% of time I'm going to be entertained by that product you don't have that luxury at the AW you have to kind of go now like how are we trending right now how is like you have to kind of think about it game of thrones like I was not a my wife got me into it somewhere around season three and then we watch the rest of it but the last season 177 00:22:10,600 --> 00:22:37,360 by most accounts was awful and I had to check out on I don't I think I saw the last episode but the rest of the season was really bad and that's kind of where I'm at with AW were like if somebody tells me hey you miss this you need to go check it out I'll go check it out but I can't think of one really good story in AEW that is going to make me tune in watch like I'll watch mjf hurts into 178 00:22:37,360 --> 00:23:07,240 making it stuff because I know it'll make me giggle and laugh you know and in some ass ups funny Tony storm always makes me smile laugh you know certain rest like if I watch osprey wrestle or I watch him cut a promo I know I'm going to entertain but that's 30 minutes of the show is not the entire show so do I want to spend three hours or do I want to spend 30 minutes watching it yet there's a lot of great things that I joy about AW live will will osprey one of my favorite wrestlers to watch this 179 00:23:07,240 --> 00:23:16,240 stuff with hangman page lately has been really good in a lot of fun love swarves Strickland without a doubt one of my favorite guys to watch I've enjoyed the mjf hurts into 180 00:23:16,240 --> 00:23:34,240 kit time is only storm very entertaining enjoy her stuff I like the FTR heel turn so far with stokley halfway interested see where that goes so there are things there are glimmers of hope where it's like it's there but I just don't know I think I'm resigned to the fact 181 00:23:34,240 --> 00:23:49,240 to try that here we are year number what five six for a w where we at six now six I don't think that they will ever be on WWE's level and that's okay 182 00:23:49,240 --> 00:24:03,240 that is fine I think that they are more inclined as time goes on to fall in line with routine a ended up going I think that they are probably a step ahead of 183 00:24:03,240 --> 00:24:19,240 the team a just but just even based by looks right it by television contracts that they have attendance that type of stuff the people that they're able to sign I feel like that they are more like a step above or tna is right tna is right now rather than being closer to 184 00:24:19,240 --> 00:24:31,240 w we like I don't see a world at this point where unless they like the world on fire outside of pay per views I think there is not a world where they get back into 185 00:24:31,240 --> 00:24:43,240 the arena's on a weekly basis for dynamite and collision and I think that's sad because we really needed somebody that was going to push WWE to the breaking point and maybe 186 00:24:43,240 --> 00:24:54,240 maybe just maybe doctor trade that's one of the reasons why w create is not been that great lately because they don't have that AW push of trying to make them better 187 00:24:54,240 --> 00:25:09,240 that's an interesting way to look at is I wonder if w we is kind of taking the accelerator off of their creative because I feel like they have if I see another betrayal storyline in WWE I'm going to pull my hair out and I don't have many of it at this point 188 00:25:09,240 --> 00:25:22,240 like even the other nine on NXT I'm watching Fallon Henley and JC J and in their T's in a betrayal story line I'm like what the hell how many betrayals or we got to get in w in a year it's going to be a lot 189 00:25:22,240 --> 00:25:36,240 but maybe that's one reasons why doctor trades AW isn't what it was from not 2019 to 2022 and WWE doesn't see it anymore and then and they're under the realization that yeah AW is probably never going to compete with us 190 00:25:36,240 --> 00:25:40,240 therefore the creative doesn't need to be as good as it was the last several years 191 00:25:40,240 --> 00:25:58,240 see I look at it by the way I don't like saying that no I look at it as you're saying that is like to me TNA right now is what w's the w was after the NWO kind of dissipated but before they went out of business like they have good production 192 00:25:58,240 --> 00:26:06,240 they look like a professional wrestler come there are times in TNA you can you can go yeah they look like just a really great indie company 193 00:26:06,240 --> 00:26:20,240 they they land in that era where it's kind of like where do we go from here what do we do why is this not clicking what is and I think of obviously they shoot themselves in the foot like you get a guy who's super hot 194 00:26:20,240 --> 00:26:30,240 and instead of featuring him you end up like either not pushing him the right way or yeah like Swarth's trickling to me is a prime example 195 00:26:30,240 --> 00:26:40,240 and then the guy for the last year like all of that stuff that was going on like the dude organically turned baby face 196 00:26:40,240 --> 00:26:46,240 crowd was super behind him you take the belt off of him and then he drops on the car will us break him and super hot 197 00:26:46,240 --> 00:26:54,240 ready to light the world on fire and then kind of fell off and then now you're trying to cycle it back up and it's like man 198 00:26:54,240 --> 00:27:02,240 you do long to bring this person back up when you have the crowd in the pomegranate and we saw that with Austin 199 00:27:02,240 --> 00:27:12,240 we saw that with the rock we saw that was the one somebody gets super hot man you ride that as long as you can until the next guy catches fire 200 00:27:12,240 --> 00:27:22,240 and they don't do that and it's well things were like if it happens once or twice you can kind of throw it off as a one off as a coincidence 201 00:27:22,240 --> 00:27:30,240 that what happens time after time after time you're like no this is a pattern and unless they break that habit and break that pattern 202 00:27:30,240 --> 00:27:36,240 you're absolutely right they're never going to get on the level of wwe and they have the talent to do it 203 00:27:36,240 --> 00:27:44,240 and that's what's frustrating it's like watching your favorite team go out and sign all the best players and they finish 500 204 00:27:44,240 --> 00:27:50,240 you're like what went wrong here why is it not there is it the leadership is it the creative is it the producers 205 00:27:50,240 --> 00:28:00,240 are we doing way too much in our matches are we not doing like is trying to find that secret sauce and a lot of times the secret sauce is just find that guy who's hot 206 00:28:00,240 --> 00:28:08,240 and ride him until the crowd tells you to not ride him anymore I think that's where AW keeps shooting themselves in the foot with 207 00:28:08,240 --> 00:28:16,240 yeah why did people not like Vince and WWE in 2015 to 18 whatever that led to the launch of all eat wrestling 208 00:28:16,240 --> 00:28:28,240 it was because Vince had no competition he didn't give a shit with the fans thought and he was going to push his guys and his story lines no matter how bad they were from League of Nations to the big dog Roman Reigns 209 00:28:28,240 --> 00:28:37,240 down your throat because there was no other alternative the only other alternative if you were a wrestling fan was to stop watching wrestling or watching new Japan 210 00:28:37,240 --> 00:28:49,240 at like four in the morning watching a ring of honor and he shows that type of stuff like you had no creative outlook outlet as a wrestling fan to have that alternative 211 00:28:49,240 --> 00:29:00,240 so AW gets formed AW doing great and then what is AW done over the last couple years well in case your Tony Khan has kind of got a little bit stubborn with some of the creative the death 212 00:29:00,240 --> 00:29:16,240 right as I'm right as angle is is not great I'm I am not a fan of it I think the title should have been off moxley months ago and this is coming from guy who loves John moxley like a huge fan of John moxley but this character not working for me it is so far out of touch 213 00:29:16,240 --> 00:29:24,240 and what I want to see is wrestling fan that it's just unbearable to watch sometimes and it's like it makes you wonder why are they holding on 214 00:29:24,240 --> 00:29:36,240 well part of me thinks because Darby just recently completed the Mount Everest for a crime and congratulations to him you know the belief is that he will be back soon and he's the one that is set to dethrone John moxley 215 00:29:36,240 --> 00:29:47,240 and it's like did they drag this story align out even farther and they wrote my Darby off television in December and he just got done with the crime like this week 216 00:29:47,240 --> 00:29:57,240 have they written this out so that Tony Khan could be like well this is the guy that I want this is who I want to end the death writers it has to be Darby 217 00:29:57,240 --> 00:30:07,240 and then we talked about this when Darby left television for a while to and that's all well and good but as a boss like you could say to Darby like listen man 218 00:30:07,240 --> 00:30:16,240 I hate to do this to you but the Mount Everest climb it's gonna have to wait we kind of need you right now you're gonna win the title for moxley at double or nothing 219 00:30:16,240 --> 00:30:25,240 you're gonna go in all in as a champion and by the end of the year you know you'll drop the title and you know then you could start working towards the Mount Everest 220 00:30:25,240 --> 00:30:31,240 ever climbing to twenty six I mean he had already pushed off when he broke his foot was literally hit by a bus in New York City 221 00:30:31,240 --> 00:30:39,240 so it's like this is not the first time they done it and and and I just wonder if we sit here three months from now Darby is the AW World Champion 222 00:30:39,240 --> 00:30:48,240 so they fucking held that long just to wait for him to climb the mountain and come back that's gonna piss me off as a fan as a fan that would piss me off 223 00:30:48,240 --> 00:30:56,240 other things that they've done that would piss me off I'm an AW fan I'm a CM Punk fan the way they handle the CM Punk situation was got awful 224 00:30:56,240 --> 00:31:04,240 they should have made money off a CM Punk taking on hangman on page the elite the bucks Kenny and they would have had gangbusters 225 00:31:04,240 --> 00:31:11,240 they would be in a rena's right now and they would be making a ton of money viewership would be very high and people would be excited 226 00:31:11,240 --> 00:31:18,240 they decided not to do that they let egos play into it that all stemmed up and then the jack Perry stuff with CM Punk 227 00:31:18,240 --> 00:31:27,240 it's like this is this is the guy that we're running with I mean as we all know on the show could never get behind Jack Perry as a heal 228 00:31:27,240 --> 00:31:32,240 and I think they were stubborn a lot of things dr. Tray and I think they're paying for it right now 229 00:31:32,240 --> 00:31:42,240 yeah one thing I always bring over the w is just like who is a bigger start now on the current roster that that was when they came in 230 00:31:42,240 --> 00:31:50,240 you know you could probably say mariah may swerve you know there's a handful of people but for the most part everybody comes in they plateau 231 00:31:50,240 --> 00:31:56,240 and like this whole death rye star line the one of the things I was thinking about as you were talking was like man 232 00:31:56,240 --> 00:32:04,240 do you ever when lex luger won the wcw world title from hulcogan and then lost it like two days later yeah 233 00:32:04,240 --> 00:32:12,240 and but it made lex a bigger star because he for that moment to throne hogan could you have thrown that in there was swerve 234 00:32:12,240 --> 00:32:20,240 like let swerve beat mox and then come back on collision mox swerves or mox screw swerve back out of the belt it goes back in the case 235 00:32:20,240 --> 00:32:28,240 you could have pivoted and kept fans interested in this angle by just adjusting a little bit on the fly 236 00:32:28,240 --> 00:32:34,240 hey we're gonna have you we're gonna have swerve with the pay review you're getting the bell back four days later 237 00:32:34,240 --> 00:32:42,240 I saw today john sena had a five minute world title run came had a what one week title run you like you know 238 00:32:42,240 --> 00:32:49,240 there are pivots you can make that keep the fans interested because if swerve beats you know mox and gets the belt 239 00:32:49,240 --> 00:32:57,240 even if the only hulc of four days guess what happens at the pay per view people are going to tune in to see if mox loses this time because we've seen it happen now 240 00:32:57,240 --> 00:33:05,240 you know like right now we're kind of almost on that brock lesnar run of wrestle manias were like yeah we're just not picking against brock 241 00:33:05,240 --> 00:33:09,240 you know brock is going to win like brock and then when he didn't when he was like oh my god that was weird 242 00:33:09,240 --> 00:33:17,240 but it was just you right now any mox pay per view match in my head is kind of like a little bit like romandern is real 243 00:33:17,240 --> 00:33:29,240 be a screw job finish he's gonna hang on the belt until you prove me otherwise and how interested in it like and they're not building up a baby face long enough 244 00:33:29,240 --> 00:33:38,240 to keep it competitive because it leads to wb when kio had his three shots kio had three chances you know the next guy had a couple of chances 245 00:33:38,240 --> 00:33:45,240 the next guy had a couple of chances is kind of like baby face of the week when it comes to death rider stuff 246 00:33:45,240 --> 00:33:53,240 we've seen almost everybody touch base with them but nobody's really had that like two or three month long rivalry with them 247 00:33:53,240 --> 00:33:59,240 to make you feel like man at some point they got to make the switch which is why we tune into that stuff 248 00:33:59,240 --> 00:34:05,240 it's that's why you get frustrated you're like somebody gets a shot they lose and then they're just gone for a while 249 00:34:05,240 --> 00:34:11,240 and you don't see them anymore and they move on to the next guy it's like you gotta let some of these stories kind of 250 00:34:11,240 --> 00:34:19,240 simmer and build and build the self up and I'm like they just don't do that they kind of need your book a lot of stuff 251 00:34:19,240 --> 00:34:26,240 here's the example I use and I feel like I've talked about this on the show over the summer when collision had that 252 00:34:26,240 --> 00:34:32,240 that venue that they were staying at in texas for like the entire summer months the outrunners as a tag team were starting to get over 253 00:34:32,240 --> 00:34:39,240 as time went on like fans were getting behind them their merchandise sales were like leading or one of the tops in a w people were all about them 254 00:34:39,240 --> 00:34:47,240 and they you know it's like they they got a capitalize on this and you figure that they're going to get a tag team title run they don't 255 00:34:47,240 --> 00:34:54,240 so they continue to build and build and build and then as time goes on they slowly drift away they take on the 256 00:34:54,240 --> 00:34:59,240 herp syndicate and attack the title match and they get squashed at revolution in Los Angeles and now 257 00:34:59,240 --> 00:35:05,240 as of right now because I'm behind a w you like barely see the outrunners on television which is damn shame 258 00:35:05,240 --> 00:35:15,240 because they were getting over big time and I think about an interview that nicking match axon had about their time away 259 00:35:15,240 --> 00:35:22,240 and one of the things was is that they pushed for Tony con to have them drop the titles to the outrunners 260 00:35:22,240 --> 00:35:28,240 because they saw what was going on and Tony said no and he decided to put the titles on private party 261 00:35:28,240 --> 00:35:34,240 which I'm a big private party fan I was very happy for them I know dr. Trey you weren't like a huge fan of the move 262 00:35:34,240 --> 00:35:40,240 as well and in comparison to the outrunners I was at that point in time either but now like where's private party 263 00:35:40,240 --> 00:35:46,240 they're not on television every week outrunners are not on television every week so it's like that goes back to basically 264 00:35:46,240 --> 00:35:55,240 like what was the point of that because shouldn't private party who sent young bucks is packing like be involved with something 265 00:35:55,240 --> 00:36:00,240 with them right now and maybe they are from the shows that I've missed but I've seen that online 266 00:36:00,240 --> 00:36:07,240 and that's the thing to me like it's very little but as a fan that puts in time and effort and something is organically getting over 267 00:36:07,240 --> 00:36:13,240 and you cut it off the legs all like a think of is this is the wrestling that I didn't like and this is the wrestling that was like 268 00:36:13,240 --> 00:36:18,240 turning me off when I was against the vetsok man WWE era there towards the end. 269 00:36:18,240 --> 00:36:26,240 Yeah I mean if you go back to like 2015 to 2018 and you and I were sitting here and complaining about 270 00:36:26,240 --> 00:36:38,240 WWE storyline starts and stops and no reason for the stops that's what led to AEW starting was that kind of revolting against that booking 271 00:36:38,240 --> 00:36:46,240 and it's weird that if you in a lot of ways AEW is very millennial like if you complain about AEW people like 272 00:36:46,240 --> 00:36:51,240 oh you just don't know wrestling anymore you don't know like it's very defensive about it and like 273 00:36:51,240 --> 00:37:01,240 and I'm like no they're doing a lot of the same stuff that Vince did in that in I'm like 2012 like 2013 the John Lord Knight is air 274 00:37:01,240 --> 00:37:07,240 like all that like all that stuff in there that we try to forget about because it hurts our brains and think about it 275 00:37:07,240 --> 00:37:13,240 a lot of the same issues that you and I would complain about is what AEW does now 276 00:37:13,240 --> 00:37:19,240 and it's just like what what was the push of Daniel Garcia a couple years ago like what was the push of 277 00:37:19,240 --> 00:37:27,240 you know like the outrunners private party my issue of private party wasn't so much they won the belts I love those guys they're great kids like they're wonderful people 278 00:37:27,240 --> 00:37:35,240 and it was great to see him get the tag belts but at the time they weren't doing anything two weeks before they started that push 279 00:37:35,240 --> 00:37:39,240 they were getting they were getting their butts handed to them all of a sudden they were going to put the belts on private part 280 00:37:39,240 --> 00:37:45,240 like why they're not the hot hand you play the hot hand if you're a baseball player your number 281 00:37:45,240 --> 00:37:51,240 and your number eight hitter all of a sudden starts cranking it you don't leave them at number eight you move them up in the order 282 00:37:51,240 --> 00:37:59,240 if your star quarterback is you know 90% completion percentage you don't turn around just go hey we're gonna run the ball the entire game 283 00:37:59,240 --> 00:38:07,240 like you you play the hot hand until it's no longer a hot hand and it's like it is a little bit of Vince mentality 284 00:38:07,240 --> 00:38:13,240 like somebody gets hot on their own since you didn't do it you're not behind a zack rider 285 00:38:13,240 --> 00:38:19,240 we were all remember the zack rider years zack rider gets super over with the internet gets a small of a push 286 00:38:19,240 --> 00:38:27,240 and they just thrown off a stage it is girlfriend cheats on them because Vince he got over on his own without W's help 287 00:38:27,240 --> 00:38:35,240 the outriders got over on their own without AW's help and then they get squashed into paper view we don't see him again 288 00:38:35,240 --> 00:38:41,240 like that's kind of that's a Vince mentality that is permeating AW right now 289 00:38:41,240 --> 00:38:47,240 and to that other point there we're talking about the outrunners i would say that they missed the boat on putting the title on on will osprey 290 00:38:47,240 --> 00:38:55,240 like yeah 12 months ago at this point like it should have been will osprey versus swerve striclin and all in London 291 00:38:55,240 --> 00:39:01,240 for the title in the home country for will osprey and will osprey should have been the one that walked out they're not Brian Danielsson 292 00:39:01,240 --> 00:39:09,240 and it's funny because as I as I say out loud remember that story we talked about dr. Tray that they did swerve an osprey early like a dynasty 293 00:39:09,240 --> 00:39:21,240 or it was one of those early paper views or it's like i can't believe they're doing this and then it came out that the reason why they did that is because they thought fans were thinking that it was going to happen at all in 294 00:39:21,240 --> 00:39:31,240 and it's like yeah yeah no shit why why would it that's that's what the fans want to see so you're doing it to swerve the fans and give them the danielson run 295 00:39:31,240 --> 00:39:45,240 which was fine but i think when Brian Danielson even says like i was undeserving of that position like that's not a great look so i mean those are just times where it's like this is aw was not understanding how to move their product forward in a very productive and smart way 296 00:39:45,240 --> 00:39:55,240 yeah no i couldn't i mean it's like if if we're building up to let i mean just throwing out let's say Seth and j ausos summer slam 297 00:39:55,240 --> 00:40:07,240 and they decided to pull the trigger of money in the bank well what no we want you want your best matches on the biggest stage to get the most amount of eyes on your product 298 00:40:07,240 --> 00:40:15,240 you don't pull the trigger too soon and once again i apparently this is my analogy for the night shoot yourself in the foot by pulling the trigger too quickly 299 00:40:15,240 --> 00:40:19,240 you don't want to plexico burst yourself for all school NFL fans 300 00:40:19,240 --> 00:40:33,240 absolutely so there you go aw double it is this weekend and back in the day on the spot gas we were very hyped for it and i'm sure i'll check it out but it's just it's just sad to see it come out that's why yeah 301 00:40:33,240 --> 00:40:43,240 Jeff what else is on the cart i don't know if you have it in front of you know i have no i guess you told me about osprey and beige i know mjf and sons of texas i don't even know where the payper view is 302 00:40:43,240 --> 00:40:57,240 it's an Arizona okay so that makes no sense as to why Dustin and Sammy have the shots over every other tag team in a w 303 00:40:57,240 --> 00:41:07,240 so there's a lot of funeratag champs but that's hangman and osprey hader and ronae the women's final hurts indicate versus the sons of texas you just talked about Tony Storm versus minasher kawa 304 00:41:07,240 --> 00:41:15,240 ftr versus daniel garci and i don't get as mark brisco versus rico share the announced matches so far 305 00:41:15,240 --> 00:41:23,240 so we have one few because both guys are bald and mark brisco decided to grow air that's i think the storyline behind that one 306 00:41:23,240 --> 00:41:29,240 i couldn't tell you why so jamey hader and murder saison a is just because the the the tournament 307 00:41:29,240 --> 00:41:37,240 so you don't have your world champion on the card you don't have your international champion on the card 308 00:41:37,240 --> 00:41:45,240 you don't have your tnt champion on the card so why am i buying this payper view 309 00:41:45,240 --> 00:41:57,240 i don't know i don't know dynamite is tonight as you and i record the show and and collisionist tomorrow and we'll see how a w sells us on a w dynamite 310 00:41:57,240 --> 00:42:01,240 or a w double nothing but as of right now not really selling me on it 311 00:42:01,240 --> 00:42:17,240 not good not good after a couple things i wanted to talk about here so there was a scene that aired on the post show on back lash where there was some belief from the fans as john c to exit the ring from his right 312 00:42:17,240 --> 00:42:27,240 you weren't match that he was conflicted with the force and was basically saying like did i do the right thing by turning healed for the title and all that stuff 313 00:42:27,240 --> 00:42:37,240 and the more i think about this match with john c and versus our truth that's out on a nightmare event the thing that you and i keep trying to figure out is 314 00:42:37,240 --> 00:42:51,240 not going to go out food like he's going to go out hero at some point we got a figure he's going to be baby face do you think this feud or the storyline with our truth is the way that that happens because our truth and that vignette talking with bad weight 315 00:42:51,240 --> 00:42:59,240 bear it is saying like this is not the john c and i know he he doesn't need to do all this stuff you know he is a good guy 316 00:42:59,240 --> 00:43:05,240 do you think this is the key to in the beginning to to turning john c in a back to a baby face 317 00:43:05,240 --> 00:43:13,240 i think it's a big part of it like i already have my like in my head how this whole thing fancy books out but this is john c and i 318 00:43:13,240 --> 00:43:25,240 wrestling his make a wish kit a lot of ways like this is john c and i wrestling the good of john c and this is like you know those movies where the guys are 319 00:43:25,240 --> 00:43:37,240 fighting themselves this is that moment like this is john c and i fighting everything he stood for this is Darth Vader face to face with Luke in a lot of ways and seeing 320 00:43:37,240 --> 00:43:45,240 it luke going i still i still know there's good in you this is our truth telling john c and i i know they're still good in you 321 00:43:45,240 --> 00:43:59,240 and so in my head this leads to summer slam john losing the belt to somebody one on one face off of the rock john not want to sell a soul and come back to the ghost i that's how i think the next six months kind of 322 00:43:59,240 --> 00:44:09,240 because that's about we got left we got about six and a half months left so how plays out to me and if we end with him turning baby face do you think 323 00:44:09,240 --> 00:44:17,240 we are all four what is taking place with the storyline are we like what the hell was that why did they shotgun that 324 00:44:17,240 --> 00:44:31,240 i mean we talked about this a little bit back in last December when it was kind of announced that you're gonna have to try to shotgun this a little bit because he told us who he's going on the retirement tour 325 00:44:31,240 --> 00:44:41,240 and then there was just the first month and a half two months we didn't see him so you're going to have to try to cram in 10 you know a year year and a half 326 00:44:41,240 --> 00:44:51,240 for the stuff into 10 months it is a little bit of the brave white john c and wrestle mania match where we saw all these different variations of john c and coming to play 327 00:44:51,240 --> 00:45:01,080 in a short amount of time so ideally yeah you'd like this to run longer but if john said on a final date in an out then you're 328 00:45:01,080 --> 00:45:13,080 trying to put in a lot of compelling stuff into a short amount of time i mean that's just kind of the nature of the crunch they're up against but i fully expect them to play this out and you know 329 00:45:13,080 --> 00:45:21,080 like i said john's not going to go out as a bad guy because john's got too many movies and tv shows the cell if he stays a villain too long the kids are 330 00:45:21,080 --> 00:45:29,080 actually going to believe that he's a bad guy and not want to watch and you got to get him back to the good side so that way he can still be a productive movie star and help out 331 00:45:29,080 --> 00:45:37,080 because i when they were doing this are true thing i was like man this is just like funny this is like a good way to have a little bit of a buffer are truth has been saying it for years 332 00:45:37,080 --> 00:45:48,080 yeah he is my childhood hero blah blah blah and then i watched that smackdown vinyan i'm like i think there's some more to this i think that are truth maybe the key to bring back the old john c 333 00:45:48,080 --> 00:45:54,080 because i think that's how this ultimately ends and i was like that could be genius because i did not see that coming. 334 00:45:54,080 --> 00:46:22,080 did you like my look and anakin my look and Darth Vader comparison i absolutely do i think that's a lot of it like our truth is all the best part i mean he's a rapper he buys into hustle hey we might come out of this with john scene and arthruth wrapping together some point down the line i mean i don't know but it's one of those things where you're like it makes sense because this is like why i like our truth god bless him he is a national treasure in the wrestling world. 335 00:46:22,080 --> 00:46:50,080 he doesn't win very many matches and you're putting him in a feature spot on saddestment events against somebody that he really outside of what the the crazy arthruth from capital punishment 2010 and when sina came in to help him and miss fight somebody year and a half two years ago camera who it was there was some six man tag they really haven't crossed past all that much in the last 20 years other than the couple 336 00:46:50,080 --> 00:47:18,080 why would you be putting truth in a feature spot unless it was to further the john scene is saga heading into December yeah it's it's interesting i just like again the thing was i just thought this was like a nice little space to get us to money in the bank whatever i'm like i think there's something more to this sell it makes a ton of sense and that's what's wild because i did not see this coming that our truth could be the key to this entire thing i'm getting the old john scene back. 337 00:47:18,080 --> 00:47:32,080 do you remember like in the early 2000s when truth was with tna and cn was starting to do the rapper gimmick that they were like having beef where i i legitimately think that they did not like one another which is odd. 338 00:47:32,080 --> 00:47:44,080 well it was a little bit of truth was hurt that scene it was kind of taking the gimmick that was over but on a smaller stage and using it to his benefit. 339 00:47:44,080 --> 00:48:13,080 but i still remember seeing a rat battling can he don't as a fan of outside an arena you know that i mean there's yeah i think they've once truth got back to ww they they kind of bonded over their love of hip hop and all things were squash but yeah i mean there is nothing funnier than to be the 56 year old man telling me that telling a 48 year old man that he was a shrouded in your highlight. 340 00:48:13,080 --> 00:48:31,080 i saw john scene that said well isn't true like 120 there's no possible way i can be his childhood or again our truth is like sneaky one of the funniest people in professional wrestling history is jokes can be dad jokes at times but it's just like the delivery everybody seems to love them. 341 00:48:31,080 --> 00:48:39,080 and i go back to that clip of that set this all up and he made john scene a break character which i just love i always love that type of stuff but. 342 00:48:39,080 --> 00:48:49,080 it's like this entire like this could help define our truth's career to in a very predominant part where he was like the one that helped john scene to see the light on the way out i mean talk about a rub. 343 00:48:49,080 --> 00:48:57,080 you know from one of the greatest of all time in john scene and that could be what he is supplying our truth on this farewell tour so. 344 00:48:57,080 --> 00:49:26,080 it's very very early on we still need saturday night's main event to take place this saturday for us to fully see where this is going but i think there's a potential there and there's also potential that on next week show john scene is moved into completely different direction and the art truth thing is just in the past but i was like i think that there's something more to it and i really hope that there's something more to it because i think w is planting those seeds that our truth could be the one that unlocks us getting back to the old john scene of the baby face john scene as he closes out his amazing wrestling career in 2020. 345 00:49:26,080 --> 00:49:28,080 in 2025. 346 00:49:28,080 --> 00:49:39,080 um with that said dr tre one
