- 0:17Jordan said. I played 82 games.

- 2:43www.worldwidesportsradio.com. Check out all our shows
- 2:47throughout the week, including Jabba in the Mouth Now every
- 2:51Mondays and Thursdays at 6:45 PM.
- 2:55All you have to do to tune in and check out our local listings
- 2:58for all our shows is go to our website at WWW dot
- 3:03worldwidesportsradio.com. I like to get other people's
- 3:08takes even when we're not talking about or speaking about
- 3:11it on the show. Because to me, I, I like to get
- 3:16the information in and it kind of use it as like a memory bank.
- 3:20And I don't use AI like everybody else does.
- 3:24I don't use computer programs like everybody else does to look
- 3:27at analytics or scope it up on Wikipedia, whatever the hell,
- 3:30people look it up. I don't do that.
- 3:32What I do is I, I scan it in my brain.
- 3:36I read a couple of stories, I pop things in my mind from other
- 3:41people's content that they give me some of the feedback and I
- 3:44embedded into my brain. And then at some points in some
- 3:48days, I will use that information to bring it out in
- 3:52my own opinion. And that's what's great about
- 3:55interacting with people. That's why I like to go to bars.
- 3:57That's why I like to, I, I used to when I was a kid, I used to
- 4:00hang out at the lunchroom and talk sports and speak sports
- 4:03with some of the kids that maybe about lacrosse or soccer stuff.
- 4:07I'm, I'm in a sauna at the gym and I'm speaking sports.
- 4:11I, I'm not a big European football fan or soccer fan,
- 4:15whatever you want to call it, but I watch enough of it.
- 4:18And I, I always look forward to the World Cup every four years.
- 4:21And I was this past week, I was speaking about who's the best
- 4:26soccer player in the country in the world.
- 4:29You know, so it's interesting when you hear other people's
- 4:31takes, especially people that watch it religiously.
- 4:34And then I, I get the information and I use it and I
- 4:38embedded into my brain and I kind of get the information and
- 4:41I'd be able to use it in a conversation.
- 4:43If somebody brings it up, a phone call or some of these,
- 4:47some of the fans reach out and they link me up with the direct
- 4:50direct messenger, direct connect.
- 4:52However way they contact me through e-mail and they ask me
- 4:55what I think about football, European football or soccer.
- 4:59I give you my take, but a lot of the takes that I give are really
- 5:03some of the information that people hand to me in
- 5:05conversation. So I do watch European football.
- 5:09I, I do watch a lot of MLS games, the Red Bulls, who we
- 5:13work with sometimes during the regular season.
- 5:15I, I'm a Manchester United fan, so I've been watching them since
- 5:19I was a kid. So I, I know a little bit more
- 5:22than people think about European football, but I'm most likely
- 5:26not as knowledgeable when it comes to that sport than a lot
- 5:32of the European fans and English fans that I meet throughout the
- 5:36year. So I want to give a shout out to
- 5:37the people that I met at the sauna over the week, giving me
- 5:41their take about Messi and Ronaldo and Neymar and all the
- 5:44guys that you're, we're trying Memphi, all these guys that are
- 5:50stars right now still in the soccer world.
- 5:53So it's fun. Anyways, we've got speedy Stat
- 5:56of the week. The speedy well you may run like
- 6:02me, but you hit like stat. Of the week.
- 6:06All right, we're going to get into some Hall of Fame in a bit,
- 6:08but we're going to start with my stat on a Hall of Famer, the
- 6:11senior member of the Hall of Fame, Roger Craig.
- 6:14Congratulations, him finally getting in one of the three
- 6:17layers to this One of 14 running backs have 90 catches in a
- 6:20season. He was the first one to do that,
- 6:21doing it in 1985. He's one of three running backs
- 6:24that led the NFL in total catches, joining Chuck Foreman
- 6:27and Lydell Mitchell, who did in the 70s and 89 receiving yards
- 6:32more than Jerry Rice that season.
- 6:34Errol and I both believe is the greatest football player of all.
- 6:36Time greatest. Yes, in 1985 and 89 more
- 6:39receiving yards and almost double the amount of catches. 92
- 6:42catches to 49 for Cherry Rice in that season.
- 6:45Wow. Errol was the only one alive
- 6:46when that happened. In 1985.
- 6:49Yes, you're right, but I was 3 so I didn't even know.
- 6:53I didn't even know how to take a dump by myself.
- 6:57As a matter of fact, my parents taped my diaper together because
- 7:01I was ripping it off and smothering my dump all over the
- 7:03wall. Jabba, you need to do bigger
- 7:07paint. Jabba, you need to go reverse,
- 7:08reverse Back to the future, Go back to 1985 and to get Errol
- 7:11some dude wipes. Believe it.
- 7:14I don't even think there were wipies at that time.
- 7:17That's why John has to go back inside.
- 7:18Bring your dude wipes. Believe it or not, I'm I'm
- 7:22allergic to powder. So my parents used to put powder
- 7:25because I get rashes and they didn't realize that the powder
- 7:27was the one that was giving me rashes.
- 7:29So I would get rashes like in all different areas that you
- 7:32don't want to have rashes. And I would try to get, I would
- 7:36try to itch, but my parents would take duct tape my diaper
- 7:39because I would try to get it off.
- 7:41And I used to do like disgusting things with my so I, I couldn't
- 7:45itch. Could you imagine the pain I was
- 7:47in trying to itch my my ass or in between my legs until they
- 7:53realized from my doctor that I'm allergic to powder.
- 7:57True story, ladies and times. Makes sense?
- 7:59Yeah, At the NFL Honors ceremony last Thursday, the 2026 class of
- 8:05Pro Football Hall of Fame was announced.
- 8:08The five new members included two first ballot Hall of
- 8:11Farmers, Saints quarterback Drew Brees and Cardinals wide
- 8:15receiver Larry Fitzgerald. The other three inductees are
- 8:19Panthers linebacker Luke Heekly and Patriots and Colts kicker
- 8:24Adam Vinatieri and 49ers running back.
- 8:27You heard it. The one as we all know it.
- 8:30Rodger Craig Brees, who won Super Bowl 44, was a 13 time Pro
- 8:35Bowler and is second all time in both passing yards and passing
- 8:40touchdowns. Larry Fitzgerald was an 11 time
- 8:44Pro Bowler and is ranked second all time behind Jerry Rice and
- 8:47receiving yards and six all time in receiving touchdowns.
- 8:52Adam Vinatieri got in on the second on his second try and
- 8:57became the third kicker to get into the Hall of Fame.
- 9:00He is the all time leader in field goals made, points scored,
- 9:04consecutive field goals made, and total games played.
- 9:07Luke Eakley also got in on his second try despite a short
- 9:11career by the Hall of Fame standards.
- 9:14He made pro made the Pro Bowl in seven out of the eight NFL,
- 9:19seven out of his eight NFL seasons, having over 100 tackles
- 9:23in all eight seasons, leading the NFL in total tackles twice
- 9:27and was Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.
- 9:31Rodger Craig was a senior member who got inducted finishing with
- 9:37almost 9000 running rushing yards, but is best known for his
- 9:42receiving receiving for the legendary 49ers of the 80s,
- 9:47having 5000 receiving yards in his career.
- 9:50His receiving total is ninth all time amongst running backs and
- 9:56he was the first ever to get 1000 rushing guards and
- 10:01receiving guards in a season. So a lot of people were
- 10:06questioning the whole Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick.
- 10:09Bill Belichick is a first ballot Hall of Famer.
- 10:12There's no way I'm putting an owner.
- 10:14I there's no way I'm putting an owner as a first ballot Hall of
- 10:17Famer, especially Robert Kraft with the background of who he is
- 10:22and his past, especially the rubbing tug thing as we all know
- 10:26the story behind it. But nevertheless, the NFL has a
- 10:29love fest for Robert Kraft. But I was happy that if you're
- 10:32not going to put Bill Belichick in, you're not going to put
- 10:35Robert Kraft in that. Does He's obviously not a first
- 10:38ballot Hall of Famer then? No, Bill Belichick is Robert
- 10:42Kraft. He's not.
- 10:43No, he's not. But he's he's not because the
- 10:45committee is a bunch of idiots. This guy, your greatest coach,
- 10:49this guy's the greatest coach of of all time.
- 10:52You you want to compare? We talk about facts.
- 10:55He's not a first ballot Hall of Famer.
- 10:57Not anymore. He should be well.
- 10:59And I'm not, I'm not disagreeing, but you can't say
- 11:02he's the first ballot hall of. Famer, I'm saying in my book,
- 11:04he's a first ballot Hall of Famer and I think 10 out of 10
- 11:07people that know anything about football.
- 11:09I'm not saying you Jabba, but 10 out of 10 people that are have
- 11:12been a part of the NFL and not even been coached by Bill
- 11:16Belichick. If you ask Peyton Manning and
- 11:17all all the quarterbacks that Bill Belichick has beaten over
- 11:20the years, they all will tell you he is a first ballot Hall of
- 11:23Famer. There's no question.
- 11:24But he's not. But when you look at the list of
- 11:27guys that got in this year, all deserving, everyone of Adam
- 11:30Venterry is the greatest kicker I've ever seen.
- 11:33Most clutch. When we talked about the great
- 11:37Patriot teams, three out of the what, 5 Super Bowls?
- 11:41He was as important that any player, including Tom Brady,
- 11:45especially in the Super Bowl against Carolani, kicked the
- 11:47game-winning kick. We've seen how important the
- 11:50kicker isn't a Super Bowl this year.
- 11:51Yeah, but he was as important as any kicker I can remember in the
- 11:56big stage of of a football game in the playoffs.
- 11:59This guy was as clutch as you can get.
- 12:02I mean, kicking 50 yard field goals, 48 yard field goals in
- 12:05the wind. I mean in the snow, this guy
- 12:08would had the leg of AI don't know I don't even know what you
- 12:13call his leg leg of a diamond. If there if there's such thing
- 12:17diamonds are forever. So I guess it's it's as
- 12:19important as that. But he is well deserved and, and
- 12:24I think he honestly thought that I, I know you're not going to
- 12:27put a kicker as a first ballot Hall of Famer, but if there was
- 12:29any kicker that I would put as a first ballot Hall of Famer, it
- 12:32would be Adam Vinatieri. Drew Brees is a first ballot
- 12:35Hall of Famer. The success, first of all, Drew
- 12:38Brees maybe is 510, probably around 59.
- 12:42When I saw Drew Brees, he's a little bit smaller than me.
- 12:45So he's not 5-10, but they say he was.
- 12:49But the guy had an unbelievable arm, one of the most accurate
- 12:52throwers I've ever seen, one of the the, the the most unique
- 12:58personalities the NFL has ever had.
- 13:00How many 5000 yard seasons has he had?
- 13:03How many 4500 yard seasons he's had?
- 13:05Yes, he had Sean Payton, but look who you're throwing to.
- 13:08Colston was his number one target for many, many of many
- 13:12years over there with the Saints.
- 13:14And remember, he started over there in San Diego and then they
- 13:17decided to part ways with him and let him go because of AI.
- 13:20Think if I'm not mistaken, a knee injury and then he goes,
- 13:24Sean Payton signs him and brings him over there and and then we
- 13:27all know what Rivers goes over there gets drafted.
- 13:30It was a flip flop with Eli Manning and and Rivers was
- 13:34successful but never won over there.
- 13:35But he jumped ship, went to the Saints and won a Super Bowl and
- 13:40was as good of the other two, as good as the other two
- 13:43quarterbacks that he's compared to, and that is Tom Brady and
- 13:47Peyton Manning. Because all three of these guys
- 13:51were really connected their whole careers.
- 13:54Aaron Rodgers was at the he was a little bit below them at the
- 13:57tail end because he was still younger than them.
- 13:59Do I think Aaron Rodgers is better than all three of them in
- 14:01the 10 year Spence? Yes, I think Aaron Rodgers as
- 14:04good or even better than all of those guys, but nevertheless,
- 14:08Drew Brees, it stood for something and I don't know if
- 14:11he's a good analyst because we've seen enough of him as an
- 14:14analyst to be to say that he's not he's not Tom Brady, he's not
- 14:17Tony Robo, but the guy had an unbelievable ability to get the
- 14:21ball where he wanted it to go and a thirteen time pro bowler.
- 14:26I I was he MVP. Was he ever he?
- 14:28Was never an MVP, which I'm surprised.
- 14:30Yeah, there was a year, I think in 2011 he did.
- 14:32He should have won over Aaron Rodgers, I think.
- 14:34Yes, but he was a sensational player and honestly, at some
- 14:39points maybe in a five year span, I thought he was the best
- 14:43quarterback out of all three of them.
- 14:44He really was as good of a quarterback as some of the best
- 14:48quarterbacks of of this era and of this time.
- 14:50And and probably the but this is the best time when you think
- 14:53about quarterbacks, you had Aaron Rodgers, Ben
- 14:55Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, I
- 14:58mean, Phillip Rivers. I'm trying to think of the the
- 15:03quarterbacks of of this of that era and how good they were.
- 15:06Andrew Luck. There were so many good
- 15:09quarterbacks. And to think that Drew Brees
- 15:12might have been the second or third best one out of all those
- 15:16great quarterbacks and all of them are going to go in as Hall
- 15:18of Farmers. It's an amazing feat.
- 15:20And I think he's a first ballot. He absolutely.
- 15:22And I had AI had a story out of all these guys.
- 15:25I put Drew Brees as the number one guy as a first ballot Hall
- 15:28of Famer. As far as Laura Fitzgerald,
- 15:30Larry Fitzgerald is probably the most likable one out of all
- 15:33these guys. He is a great analyst by the
- 15:35way, and I think eventually will be one of the better color guys
- 15:39on television. But everything about him, his
- 15:43ability to catch the ball, not drop the ball, make big plays,
- 15:46he never won a Super Bowl, never.
- 15:48He's played in a Super Bowl, never won a Super Bowl.
- 15:51But it's a shame because of the outstanding career this guy had,
- 15:55he has he had multiple coaches, multiple quarterbacks and still
- 15:59was as successful as he was in his career is an amazing,
- 16:03amazing career and story. First ballot Hall of Famer, slam
- 16:08dunk Hall of Famer, honestly probably top three wide receiver
- 16:12of all time. I would take him over Randy
- 16:14Moss. A lot of people might think I'm
- 16:15crazy, but I take him over Randy Moss.
- 16:19Randy Moss never won a Super Bowl.
- 16:21So if you talk about guys that never won a Super Bowl that are
- 16:24first ballot Hall of Farmers, this guy's the best one.
- 16:26And it's such a good person by the way.
- 16:29And then Adam, we mentioned Adam Vinatieri.
- 16:32Then there's Luke Kuechly. A lot of people question Luke
- 16:34Kuechly. Is he a second ballot Hall of
- 16:36Famer? Luke Kuechly in a in an 8-9 year
- 16:40span was the best linebacker in the NFL.
- 16:42I remember when he was if a mom is was it boasting you that he
- 16:44boasted college, boasted college that he played for?
- 16:46I remember he was a second round draft pick, right?
- 16:49No. No, he was top ten.
- 16:50He was a top ten. Yeah, he was 9th pick.
- 16:52It shows you how much I know about Luke Kuechly, but I
- 16:55remember when they were talking about him going into the draft
- 16:59and he had a great season. He came out of nowhere as it was
- 17:03a four-star recruit and he played for Boston College.
- 17:06Boston College is not known for their football, they're known
- 17:09for their hockey. So that the fact that he chose
- 17:12Boston College to play for and then and get his opportunity to
- 17:15be a first round talent. But the, the career that he had
- 17:19and the trajectory, this was the Carolina Panthers defense for
- 17:23like 7 years was one of the top five defenses in the league.
- 17:26And I remember when they went to the Super Bowl against the
- 17:28Broncos, they were the best defense in the NFL, including
- 17:32better than the Broncos were that year.
- 17:34And the Broncos were sensational, especially on that
- 17:36playoff front with Wolf and, and, and the talent that they
- 17:39had. But I will say this, Luke Eakley
- 17:43is, I don't know about a second ballot Hall of Fame.
- 17:46He's a Hall of Famer. And when you you talk about
- 17:49Willis, Patrick Willis getting in in a short career, I speedy,
- 17:53we went back and forth. I think Luke Eakley was better
- 17:55than Patrick Willis. I do because Patrick Willis
- 17:59played on better defenses. I think Luke Eekly was the, he
- 18:04was the backbone of the Carolina Panthers defense.
- 18:07He was the play caller. He was the captain.
- 18:10Patrick Willis was not the play caller on that defense.
- 18:12So I think Luke Eekly and first of all, another likable person.
- 18:17Anybody that's met the guy, I've never met him, but what I've
- 18:19heard through the Grapevine is this guy is as good of a person
- 18:23then you'll ever meet. So and he he loves teaching
- 18:26kids, loves autographing. He doesn't ask for anything more
- 18:30than just a hello and a goodbye. Very, very nice guy.
- 18:32And then there's Rodger Craig. I think this is long overdue.
- 18:36If you think about those 80s championship San Francisco 49ers
- 18:41teams who made the final catch of the game.
- 18:44I forget what Super Bowl it was to Joe Montana throwing him the
- 18:47ball. It was it was Rodger Craig.
- 18:49Rodger Craig as a guy that has always been known as one of the
- 18:55elite players, offensive players of the 80s, but he always got
- 18:59forgotten because of all those great 49ers teams.
- 19:02If you think about Jerry Rice, you think about Joe Montana,
- 19:05Steve Young, those defensive players and.
- 19:08Very underrated. Go to John Taylor.
- 19:11Don't forget about him. No, I'm not, but Rodger Craig
- 19:14was the the the focal point early in the 80s and there was
- 19:19no Jerry Rice there really. He was the focal point of that
- 19:22offense and it was he was one of Joe Montana's favorite players
- 19:26to throw to and and give the ball to.
- 19:28So I was very surprised. It took him like almost 20
- 19:32something years to get into the Hall of Fame, but very well
- 19:35deserved, I would say should have been in the Hall of Fame 10
- 19:39years ago. But the NFL is so hard on.
- 19:41I think this is the hardest out of all sports to get into the
- 19:45Hall of Fame. It's like the NFL really
- 19:48reaches. And if like Terrell Davis should
- 19:50not be in the Hall of Fame. I don't care what anybody says.
- 19:52If Rod, if Terrell, if Terrell Davis is in the Hall of Fame,
- 19:57Rodger Craig, she definitely should have been a first ballot
- 20:00Hall of Fame. Because to me, if you would ask
- 20:02me right now in the prime of their careers, who would I want,
- 20:04Terrell Davis or Rodger Craig? I'm taking Rodger, Craig.
- 20:08So another guy that has sensational career, very well
- 20:11deserved and it like Joe Montana said after he was chosen to be
- 20:16inducted into the Football Hall of Fame, he says long overdue,
- 20:20one of the best and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.
- 20:24So Joe Montana, who comes out and doesn't really give anybody
- 20:26compliments says a lot. It says a lot about his his
- 20:29personality and who Rodger Craig is.
- 20:31Yeah, before I get my take on the on the Hall of Famers, we
- 20:33have a Rodger Craig Fang, a big 49ers fan on the on the phone
- 20:36right now with us. He also so snowman in the
- 20:38morning, Mr. Brian Snow. Evening gents, how are you
- 20:43doing? All right, man, how are you?
- 20:44Snowman. What's up, buddy?
- 20:46Hey, how's it going, E? What's going on, man?
- 20:48I know you wanted to call up and talk about your Roger Craig tag
- 20:51because I know you're a big 49ers fan and so is Owen, by the
- 20:53way. I am Owen.
- 20:55They suck. I'm sorry I had to do.
- 20:57That listen, Roger Craig's Roger Craig's induction into the Hall
- 21:01of Fame is way past overdue because as I've said on my show
- 21:06and arrow, you've ridden shotgun with me when you heard me say
- 21:09it. If you can honor Marshall Faulk
- 21:11with 1000 thousand season with a gold jacket, if you can honor
- 21:15Christian McCaffrey, who almost came close to doing in a game
- 21:18this year, then why couldn't you honor the original?
- 21:20The man who originated the stat, Roger Craig.
- 21:23He was there before Jerry Rice was there, as you mentioned, he
- 21:28was there before He was there before John Taylor was there.
- 21:32And Taylor caught the winning catch in Super Bowl 23.
- 21:34So the person they relied on a lot was was was Rodger Craig
- 21:39because Wendell Tyler was on his way out.
- 21:41In fact, Wendell Tyler retired after Super Bowl 19 because he
- 21:46knew the Niner, said Rodger Craig, Tom Rathman was on the
- 21:50way mentioned that same year. They draft, they traded up to
- 21:53draft Jerry Rice. So you get another one, so you
- 21:56get another weapon. And as everyone has said to me
- 21:59and I have said in return, Rodger Craig just got lost in
- 22:02all the shuffle of that luster of of what was that 40 Niner
- 22:06dynasty in the 80s. But if you needed a tough run,
- 22:10see the Los Angeles Rams from 1988 or any run in the playoff,
- 22:15again, 88 playoffs against the Vikings, you needed a tough run.
- 22:19Rodger Craig got you that, that tough run.
- 22:22And he just quietly went about his business.
- 22:24He did his job. And a set that a lot of people
- 22:28forget from Super Bowl 23, Montana threw for 353 yards.
- 22:32Yeah, Jerry Rice called 11 for 2:15.
- 22:34But Rodger Craig was also 100 yard receiver.
- 22:37He caught 9 for 101, including the catch that set up the game
- 22:42winner to John Taylor. I remember that Brian and I was
- 22:47young and I've seen the video and, and if you ever seen the I
- 22:51forget what, what the documentary was, it wasn't the
- 22:53Joe Montana. It was the 49ers documentary.
- 22:56And it went from it went from the the 70s when they made the
- 23:00move to draft Joe Montana in the second round.
- 23:03He fell out of the first round and, and they built it around
- 23:06the core and Roger Craig was one of those guys, one of those core
- 23:09players that when you, you talk about the, the infamous talent
- 23:14and, and over the, the, the early, late 70s and 80s type of
- 23:19team. So the 49ers had Roger Craig was
- 23:22the one of the faces, one of the the focal points of that
- 23:25offense. And the Niners were not really
- 23:28known as a running team even when their dynasty started in
- 23:311981 because they had Amos Lawrence as the feature running
- 23:35back and knowing who no one knew who he was until they got to
- 23:38Pontiac, MI The the running back that really sold the West Coast
- 23:42offense was Rodger Craig in 1984.
- 23:45Look at who they had since then. Ricky Waters, Christian,
- 23:48Christian McCaffrey, Frank Gore. It was all about Montana.
- 23:52But Bill Walsh designed that offense to run the football
- 23:56before they attacked you, before they attacked you through the
- 23:59air. And the original Jackknife
- 24:01running back was Roger Craig. No question.
- 24:04And if you know anything about the West Coast offense, you
- 24:06don't have a running game. You don't.
- 24:07You can't play a West Coast. Offense, you're sunk.
- 24:09Yes. You're sunk.
- 24:11And you need a guy that can catch the ball too, because that
- 24:13has a lot to do with the West Coast offense, too.
- 24:16And, and in that, in that game against the Cowboys in 85 where
- 24:19he set and where he where he set the record, no one was aware
- 24:25except for the CBS broadcast crew that he was close to that,
- 24:29that he was close to that feet, 1000 yards rushing, 1000 yards
- 24:32receiving. He did both in the same game.
- 24:36He crossed them both in the same game because they ran the ball
- 24:38heavily against the Cowboys in the first half.
- 24:41And then three receptions into the second-half he crossed 1000
- 24:44yard receiving barrier. So he did both in the same game.
- 24:47I want to ask you a question. Out of all five of these guys do
- 24:50first of all, Bill Belichick, is he a first ballot Hall of Famer
- 24:53and why in your opinion? And out of all five of these
- 24:56guys, how would you rate them from top to bottom one through
- 24:595? You would have to throw a
- 25:05question like this at me. Let me let me start with the
- 25:07first. Let me start with the first one,
- 25:09Bill Belichick. I say yes because remember Bill,
- 25:14Bill Belichick, before he became the architect of the Patriots,
- 25:17he was the architect of the New York Giants defense, which held
- 25:22many A-Team, including my 49ers under their, their scoring
- 25:26average. So yes to, to Bill Belichick.
- 25:29As far as these 5 Hall of Farmers, I can't rank them to be
- 25:32totally honest and totally fair for the, for the Super some
- 25:36reasons. They all, they, they all.
- 25:39Come on, you know, this is me you're talking through.
- 25:40Here this is. I know, I know.
- 25:42I know first of all you Arrow, you and I have like the best
- 25:47sports mind and we think along the same lines all the time.
- 25:50We. Actually, do we actually do?
- 25:52We, we, we think along the same lines all, all the time.
- 25:56You can't, you, you can rank these guys, but it'll present a
- 25:59hell of a hell of an argument. Like you were talking about a
- 26:02moment ago with Drew Brees, who should have been the MVP not
- 26:06once, but twice, in my opinion, in the time that he was playing
- 26:09with Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
- 26:11And like Roger Craig got swallowed by the 49er dynasty,
- 26:14Drew Brees got swallowed by the quarterbacks that were playing
- 26:16in that era. Larry Fitz, Larry Fitzgerald.
- 26:20What took him so long? Well, you had to wait.
- 26:23You had to wait five years. He kept playing.
- 26:25You had to wait five years. You never.
- 26:26Ate well, Yeah. Well, yeah, it was it.
- 26:30Yeah. You got got some guys you as
- 26:33Errol as you well know and you've heard me say yes, some
- 26:37guys don't need to wait to get in the Hall of Fame.
- 26:40OK Right. Even though you have to have you
- 26:42have to have the five yard five year.
- 26:45Oh good gracious. It's been a busy Monday 5:00 You
- 26:48got to wait five years before you get in the hall.
- 26:50You got to wait five years before you before you get in the
- 26:52hall of. Fame.
- 26:52I messed up, Josh. McDaniels.
- 26:54To Mike McDonald. So I I know it's been a long
- 26:58day. It's been a long day for me too.
- 27:00You can tell it's You can tell it's Monday when creators like
- 27:03us mess up simple need. I was, I was interviewing me.
- 27:07I was interviewing Howard Cross last week and I was watching an
- 27:10Ernie Davis documentary and I'm I saw I messed up.
- 27:15What was his? So he said Ernie Banks for Carl
- 27:19Banks. Carl Banks.
- 27:20And yes, I called and he called Ernie Banks a great running
- 27:23back. A great running back.
- 27:24So I was lost. And then Howard Cross, like he
- 27:27kind of fell into it. He was laughing about it.
- 27:29It was funny. You know, it was funny.
- 27:31I love I love I love Howard Cross.
- 27:34I love Howard Cross and the way he the way the way he played
- 27:37with with with the with the Giants.
- 27:40This more this morning I had I had a big one when we I had AII
- 27:45made a big mistake this morning when I when I was doing my show
- 27:50and I looked at a name because I was searching for a basketball
- 27:54game doing Wednesday and I accidentally said that name
- 27:57instead of what I wanted to say and covering the Super Bowl
- 28:01because of the because of the same same last name.
- 28:03But if you really want to go if you really want to go one
- 28:10through 5 on this Hall of Fame class for me, one has got to be
- 28:15Drew Brees. OK all.
- 28:17Right, you agree. Right, you agree?
- 28:20Drew Brees has got Drew Brees has got to be 1. 2 through 5 is
- 28:272 through 5 is a toss up, but I'll say 2 would be 2 would be
- 28:35Larry Fitzgerald. OK.
- 28:37I agree. Three would be Roger Craig just
- 28:42because of the amount of time it took him to get in.
- 28:49Venetary is 5 for me. OK.
- 28:52Venetary is five, but as a kicker, and it's rare as a
- 28:56kicker or a punter that you have that much of an impact.
- 28:59And Venetary had it with two teams.
- 29:01He had it with the Patriots and he had it with the Colts.
- 29:03Hell, he he won the he won the Patriots 2 Super Bowls, right?
- 29:06Yeah, he was the only one of the three kickers that I've ever
- 29:08gotten in. The other two are Morton
- 29:09Anderson. Anderson and you know, and then
- 29:13the great thing was to have Morton Anderson knock on Adam
- 29:17Beneteri's door. That is that was great.
- 29:20That was great for me because I remember Morton Anderson Morton
- 29:24Anderson was the first kicker I saw kick a 60 yard field goal
- 29:27hit against the Bears in 1990 or 1991.
- 29:30I beg your pardon? 91 But no matter where you rank
- 29:35them, they all had their they all had their impact because
- 29:39the, the comparison that you drew, the pair, the comparison
- 29:44that I drew with Larry Fitzgerald, I compared him to
- 29:46Jerry Rice and I would take Fitzgerald over Randy Moss in an
- 29:50instant because Larry Fitzgerald can do something.
- 29:54And I look, I love when watching Randy Moss play.
- 29:57Don't get it twisted. But you know, I'm a 49er fan.
- 30:00And what do 49ers receivers love to do?
- 30:03Block. You get the ball downfield with
- 30:07Larry Fitzgerald on it and Larry Fitzgerald sees somebody, he's
- 30:09going to knock the heck out of him.
- 30:11And then he would pick you up and ask you how your mom?
- 30:14'S doing. He'd pick you.
- 30:15He'd pick you up and ask you how you.
- 30:17He'd pick you up and ask you how you were feeling, but during the
- 30:20play, he'd knock the heck out of you.
- 30:22Period. That's what I love about
- 30:26receivers when when they get downfield and block because John
- 30:29Taylor did it for Jerry Rice for years and vice versa.
- 30:33And, and the great thing about Larry Fitzgerald is he never
- 30:36dropped the ball. I I don't even remember the last
- 30:37time he dropped. A great stat too.
- 30:39He has more tackles in his career than he does drop.
- 30:41Pass. It is unbelievable how how great
- 30:44his hands was and he was what was he the number one pick of
- 30:47the draft, The. 3rd pick of the draft.
- 30:49He was a high draft pick and and I remember he came out of pit, I
- 30:52think it was. And he actually got his degree
- 30:54after that, yeah. Arizona.
- 30:56Yeah, he did. I think it was online Arizona
- 30:58State or something like that, but I.
- 31:02And it's so sad. It's so sad that Fitzgerald
- 31:05ended his career without a Super Bowl win.
- 31:07Yeah, but he. Was one of the best playoffs
- 31:09receivers. Ever.
- 31:11Well, yeah. Well, yeah.
- 31:13It's it's sad it ended his he ended his career without a Super
- 31:16Bowl win. But when that toe tap catch by
- 31:19San Antonio Holmes happened, I had to pick my mouth up up the
- 31:23floor as I was leaving a friend's place watching the
- 31:25thing. Yeah, because I remember after
- 31:26that The Jets signed him and he did absolutely nothing but.
- 31:29Brian, think about. The run nothing.
- 31:30Think about the run though. Before that, all the really good
- 31:33teams they had to go through. Atlanta was great that year.
- 31:35That was their first win. Carolina might have been the
- 31:36best team in the NFL that year when they behavior.
- 31:39Then the Carolina was something. At that time, Carolina was
- 31:42something else. Yeah, Carolina.
- 31:45Carolina was something else. And they got and and they got
- 31:47through Carolina. But yeah, those are those are my
- 31:50rankings. I may bring that, I may bring
- 31:53that question to to my show tomorrow.
- 31:56But it's always it's it's always fun chatting up with you.
- 32:00And when you saw the and when you, when I saw the subject you
- 32:03were talking about, Roger Craig, I said, oh, I got to have a
- 32:05piece of this because I've said for years, as long as Arrow and
- 32:08I have been buddies, Pete, you've heard me say it.
- 32:11Also, Rodger Craig needs to be in the Hall of Fame period.
- 32:16Yeah, well, he's been, he's been out and about in San Francisco
- 32:21all week and, and enjoying his time as everybody is celebrating
- 32:25his greatness and very well deserved it and celebrating your
- 32:28greatness, man, because all the work and all the dedication, all
- 32:31the stuff that you've been through, like I always say, I've
- 32:34been behind you and I love your show.
- 32:36Happy that you've been a, you've been a part of our product and
- 32:39keep up the good work and I'll see you.
- 32:41Tomorrow. Thank you I'll.
- 32:42See you tomorrow. Yeah, 4, four years now I've
- 32:44been a part of worldwide sports radio because I jumped back on
- 32:47full time after my surgery the follow the following fall after
- 32:51I had a chance to to recover because I originally jumped on
- 32:54in 2020 while we were in North Carolina.
- 32:57Then I got then I got ill and I had to take two years off, but
- 33:01four years worth man, this is a partnership that's going to go
- 33:04for a long, long, long time. I love you very much.
- 33:07So do I love you crew. Thank you all for for welcoming
- 33:11me. I really appreciate it and there
- 33:13I will talk to you tomorrow, bottom of the second hour.
- 33:15I can't wait. Yes.
- 33:15Sir, my friend. Thanks for calling, Brian.
- 33:17Ryan Snow, ladies and gentlemen, I don't know what I I see the
- 33:21snowman over there. I mean fish, you are a pain in
- 33:25my ass. You really are.
- 33:27And I want to give a shout out to Jabba because Jabba has been
- 33:29traveling a lot and just happy that he's back with the crew.
- 33:33I know you know, we've been back and forth text messaging, but
- 33:37he's been obviously working with his son.
- 33:40His son's has a big season coming up and I'm excited for
- 33:43his son. I'm excited for him and looking
- 33:46forward to all the success of his son in college and maybe
- 33:50professionally. So shout out to Jabba
- 33:52Chamberlain for, you know, being with us tonight and much more.
- 33:56We have a lot more show to go. But speeding your take on the
- 33:59Super Bowl, I mean, I'm sorry, on the Hall of Fame.
- 34:01Yeah, I have the same top 2 as you.
- 34:03I think Drew Brees definitely was #1 I like Brian was saying,
- 34:06there's definitely at least two years.
- 34:07You could have definitely made the case that he was the MVPI.
- 34:10Think 2011, definitely the biggest one.
- 34:11When Aaron Rodgers got it and that Saints offense, I was so
- 34:15afraid of them that year. I was so happy the 49ers beat
- 34:17them in the playoffs that year because the Giants would have
- 34:20probably gotten smoked by them in the NFC championship game if
- 34:22they had to play that offense. It was the best offense in the
- 34:24NFL. And Drew Brees, he was the most
- 34:26accurate when it comes to completion percentage season.
- 34:29I think he has like 7 seasons over 70% completion percentage.
- 34:32Even later in his career too. Was absolutely insane.
- 34:34I know Aaron Rodgers individual, I think collectively his whole
- 34:36career has a little better but Drew Brees had some of the best
- 34:39single seasons in no brainer for his ballot.
- 34:41Larry Fitzgerald I agree with you.
- 34:42Top three receiver did so many different things even later in
- 34:46his career when he because he wasn't like super fast, but when
- 34:49he was a great possession receiver even in with Kyler
- 34:52Murray there and later on in Bruce Ari and Senor Carson
- 34:54Palmer had some really good seasons too and a really big
- 34:56influence on those Arizona teams.
- 34:57The 2015 Cardinals, I think probably even a better shot than
- 35:00the 2008 Cardinals to get into Super Bowl.
- 35:02It's just a shame that they just crumbled down the stretch with
- 35:04Caroline. I thought they were the better
- 35:05team, but Larry Fitzgerald was not the reason why He's
- 35:07unbelievable, one of the best, probably the best playoff
- 35:10receiver that did not win a ring and his number is just
- 35:13unbelievable. Easily first ballot.
- 35:16Obviously what you're saying with Keekly, definitely there's
- 35:17some questions because the newer committee has to face to these
- 35:20types of guys that I think. He's a better player than
- 35:23Patrick Willis. They have to face to the types.
- 35:25I don't care what anybody says. That retired early because
- 35:28there's a lot of them in the league.
- 35:29We talked about it with Calvin Johnson when he got in, he got
- 35:31in first ballot. Patrick Willis got in first
- 35:33ballot. They all retired relatively.
- 35:35Calvin Johnson played ten years so.
- 35:37Yeah, I'm just saying he's still retired at 31 years old, which
- 35:40at the at the time where there's not a lot of players that did it
- 35:43compared to a lot of these stars now that are doing it.
- 35:45Joe Thomas, another one that retired in 2017.
- 35:48He played, he played probably he probably played the same length
- 35:51as Calvin Johnson, maybe a little more.
- 35:52And he retired early and he was arguably the best tackle this
- 35:55generation. And same kind of thing with
- 35:56Keekley, like you look at the. Was he inducted into the Hall of
- 35:59Fame? Joe Thomas.
- 36:00Yeah, he was recently. He was two years ago, I think.
- 36:02And he played I think only one more year than Calvin Johnson
- 36:06did. And then Keekley probably after
- 36:08Willis, probably after Willis has those concussion issues
- 36:10towards the end of the career, phased into the best linebacker
- 36:13in football until he retired after that in 2019 and played
- 36:17with, like you said, a lot of young players on that Panthers
- 36:19defense that I did have a lot of good front sevens.
- 36:21He. Was the leader of that defense.
- 36:22And he was arguably the best zone coverage linebacker for a
- 36:25long time on that scheme and in that cover 2 scheme and did very
- 36:29well. And like we were talking about
- 36:31in the read off, 100 tackles pretty much every year was
- 36:33flying and adapted quickly to the NFL level when.
- 36:36He finds me a foyer, Lukin. He was one of those sideline,
- 36:43the sideline guys back in those days is you have the the one
- 36:46linebacker in the middle for the Tampa 2 defense.
- 36:49And if it's a run play, he has to run from sideline to sideline
- 36:52from the middle of the field. And if you had a guy like that,
- 36:54you could run that defense. You don't see a lot of that
- 36:57anymore. That Tampa 2 is kind of an
- 36:59older, much older school thing, but he was great at it and they
- 37:02were able to do a lot of things that other teams can do simply
- 37:05because he was on the field. I mean, I think they had like an
- 37:08older Julius Peppers came back to them when he was there.
- 37:11They had the best linebacker core.
- 37:13It was him and. Thomas Davis Thomas Davis, Shaq
- 37:16Thompson was the third guy on that on that Super Bowl team.
- 37:19They probably, I would say they had the best lineback in core in
- 37:21a whole league for. For and they were, they were
- 37:24just lights out. And you're right, I remember it
- 37:26was like Urlacher. Then it was the the two guys.
- 37:29It wasn't just what's his face in the 49ers, Patrick Willis.
- 37:34Yeah, it was also Navarro. They also too.
- 37:35Yeah. And they also had Bowman, who
- 37:37just had these terrible injuries, but he was sick next
- 37:40to them. They played that three fours, so
- 37:41they really had two different. I'm as rich was pretty solid too
- 37:43they. Also had a player they drafted
- 37:46who had one great season and then he retired because the.
- 37:48Seats. Oh, Borland, Yeah.
- 37:50Borland, who everybody thought was going to be a star.
- 37:51Yeah, yeah. Correct.
- 37:53And but I think like what Peakley did was kind of more
- 37:56impressive. I agree with you, Errol.
- 37:57I think to play in that more Ray Lewis style middle linebacker
- 38:01that he played and as opposed to A3 four guy, that's like kind of
- 38:05like, I don't know, Ray Lewis just was constantly flying.
- 38:07It's not that they didn't have another linebacker like Bart
- 38:09Scott inside with them. It's just one guy's flying.
- 38:12The other guy's blitzing. Well, it felt like with the
- 38:1449ers the Willis had they had two guys who could do both.
- 38:18So it was a little bit different than Keighley doing everything
- 38:20and I loved watching him play. I wouldn't, obviously I wouldn't
- 38:24rank him as high as, you know, these top two guys, but I think
- 38:28I might go Fitzgerald over Brees even, because I think Fitzgerald
- 38:31was unbelievable. I, I, he was like the top guy
- 38:35coming out of high school, the top guy in college, the top guy,
- 38:38the top guy, the top guy. And there was never a time he
- 38:41didn't rise up to those expectations.
- 38:43It's not surprising. He's going to be a great
- 38:44sportscaster, sports writer. His father was a sports writer
- 38:47famously. He used to, you know, be there
- 38:49was something that was very known when he was still playing,
- 38:52how big his dad was involved with his career as far as, you
- 38:55know, support writing him and then writing about him.
- 38:58I mean Breeze though, he was 6 foot tall maybe, maybe 6.
- 39:02He wasn't because I when I met Drew Brees, well, I didn't meet
- 39:06him, but we were in the vicinity.
- 39:07He was smaller than me and I'm 5/10 and 1/4 as Java would make
- 39:10a joke about SO. He was real short and like to be
- 39:14able to do what he did. They they didn't think he could.
- 39:17That's why he fell to the second round.
- 39:18Jabba, you like that, right? Hey, I was, I was going to let
- 39:22that one slide. I was going to give you a
- 39:23freebie today. Yeah, I'm sure you were.
- 39:26He did slide from Purdue. But the one why I think they're
- 39:30one A1B honestly, is they both answered the bell.
- 39:34They both answered the bell year in, year out in, in, in both of
- 39:39those positions. That's tough to say.
- 39:41I mean, obviously Brett Favre answered the bell, but.
- 39:43With with some help. Well, if Santonio Holmes doesn't
- 39:47catch the toe tap touchdown in the end of that Super Bowl,
- 39:49Fitzgerald's the MVP of that sort Easily.
- 39:51Yeah. Yeah, Fitzgerald, 50 something
- 39:52was 40 that had that. Something, yeah.
- 39:54He he caught like a skinny post to the house.
- 39:57Yeah. And brain by everybody with like
- 40:002 1/2 minutes left to go. I mean, or maybe even less.
- 40:04I mean, he should have been this MVP, you know, except that they
- 40:06had no defense. That's why it was a fun game to
- 40:09watch. You know, it's like it's just he
- 40:11was unbelievable. I thought he was.
- 40:13I mean, he did. Maybe he didn't stay elite as
- 40:18long as you'd like, you know, as compared to like a guy like
- 40:20Jerry Rice, who was still like an effective receiver at the end
- 40:24of his career. Fitzgerald was not an effective
- 40:25receiver at the end of. His well again when you once I
- 40:28think the game got a little faster too with a lot of those
- 40:30spread schemes and stuff like that he had.
- 40:31To just be slowed down, you know?
- 40:33Yeah, but the the Bruce Arian scheme, he was still effective
- 40:37because he they needed a bigger body possession.
- 40:39The guy go along with all those speed guys that they had when
- 40:41Carson Palmer was there and they had John Brown and Jerome Brown,
- 40:45guys like that, like stretch the field, all those little
- 40:47receivers and he had to be the big body guy.
- 40:49So he still served a role even though, yeah, maybe his stats
- 40:52weren't eye popping towards the end of his career.
- 40:54He still was the 708 hundred. Yard, I will say this and and
- 40:57the fact that Eli Manning is still not in the Hall of Fame is
- 40:59ridiculous. I, I It doesn't make any sense.
- 41:02He But you know, we've had this. Argument before though too.
- 41:05It's like when it comes to part of the human element of this,
- 41:10it's going to happen. Like it's literally like we saw
- 41:14with the MVP, the dude that came out that voted for Herbert and
- 41:17however, and it changed obviously what what could have
- 41:20happened with between staff and Drake May.
- 41:22But when there's a human element it, it may be some dude that Eli
- 41:26shunned that gets a vote, but that's going to always play a
- 41:31part of it when it comes down to this.
- 41:33Because listen to these Hall of Fame guys.
- 41:35I felt like your your stats don't change.
- 41:39So what the hell am I now in the Hall of Famer in Year 5 that I
- 41:43wasn't Hall of Famer in year 1? I think my number.
- 41:46Didn't change, it's just the people that are around me.
- 41:49Yeah, the only stats that changed in the last few years
- 41:51has been there's new SAC data, so there might be.
- 41:53Some. I also think it's a compact.
- 41:55XPD your stats. I also think it's a.
- 41:59Comparison to advanced analytics.
- 42:01I get that. But it stays the same.
- 42:05I I also think you can make. Sure, you get that as a trap.
- 42:08I do believe that every single year there's another guy that's
- 42:12up and they look at that player to be like Drew Brees.
- 42:16If Drew Brees wasn't going to the Hall of Fame, they probably
- 42:19pick Eli Manning to be the. OK, so how does how does Philip
- 42:22Rivers going back affect this class?
- 42:26Immensely Well, next year's class because.
- 42:28Because Ben Roethlisberger, he would have.
- 42:29Been up for this class. OK, so.
- 42:31You know what I'm saying? Because he went back, so now he
- 42:34has to wait five years. So Ben, he would have been up
- 42:36for this class. So Ben is going to be out next
- 42:38year and I think what they're going to do is they're going to
- 42:41put Ben and Eli Manning in. They're going to say that Ben is
- 42:44a first ballot Hall of Famer because he has a two time MVP
- 42:48and as far as Super Bowl MVP, but I think his accomplishments
- 42:52in the regular season were a little bit better than Eli's, so
- 42:56they're good you. Look at his stats though, you're
- 42:58going to see Eli has better overall career stats.
- 43:00Giant fan, so we're not a significant.
- 43:02Amount nobody's going to take. Then take your your take to be.
- 43:05Said he he was, you think the last bunch of years worse than
- 43:08Eli was. But you, you would, you would
- 43:10say that because you're a giant fan and and I know and you know,
- 43:13but. We did this when you were
- 43:14talking about rivers, like, I don't know, it might have been a
- 43:17year ago. We've compared all three of
- 43:18their stats. Roethlisberger was clearly third
- 43:21behind the two of those if he didn't count Super Bowls, if he
- 43:23counts Super Bowls and Super Bowl MVPS, Eli's got two of
- 43:26those also. And I and I would say Eli had
- 43:29zero rape charges against him and allegations as well.
- 43:32And I think that the voters, you know, the voters, the media
- 43:36voters are going to remember that if they're going to punish
- 43:39Kraft for his, you know, by the way, did you see girlfriend with
- 43:42the orchids orchids of Asia shirt on during the Super Bowl?
- 43:46Did you see that that she had a custom made, you know, craft
- 43:51massage parlor shirt that she wore during the Super Bowl?
- 43:55Obsi. Wouldn't doubt it because
- 43:56obviously I believe it was Robert Kraft.
- 43:59There's the one that is the one that kept him out of the Hall of
- 44:01Fame. You think the two of them
- 44:03cancelled each other out? No, I don't.
- 44:05I think Robert Kraft didn't go in because you're not putting an
- 44:07owner in as a first ballot Hall of Famer.
- 44:10I don't care how much success. He's not the one that won those.
- 44:12Championships saying they both have to go in at the same time,
- 44:15not first ballot. No.
- 44:17And if they put Robert Kraft in at the same time as Bell, Bill
- 44:21Belichick, the committee is a bunch of idiots.
- 44:23Because to me, it was Bill Belichick that built this
- 44:26organization. He was the GM, he was the
- 44:28mastermind, he was the personality.
- 44:30He was the voice of this organization, not Robert Kraft.
- 44:33All Robert Kraft did was steal him from the New York Jets in 24
- 44:36hours. That's all he did.
- 44:38Everything else. And honestly, if you think about
- 44:41why Bill Belichick left the New York Jets, cuz he didn't trust
- 44:44Woody, Woody Johnson. And now, now you see the back
- 44:47end of this whole story. And now how Robert Kraft pretty
- 44:50much laid the smacketh on Bill Belichick on why he couldn't
- 44:54stay there anymore or he had to walk away from the New England
- 44:57Patriots and didn't get that job in with the Atlanta Falcons.
- 44:59He was the biggest backstabber of them all.
- 45:02I think he should have stayed with Woody Johnson because at
- 45:04least Woody Johnson probably wouldn't have done this to him.
- 45:07I mean, Robert Kraft thinks that he's the mastermind.
- 45:09He thinks he's everything to the New England Patriots and now
- 45:12after going to the Super Bowl, if could you imagine if the
- 45:15Patriots won the Super Bowl this year?
- 45:17How much how you know to me his personality and who he thinks he
- 45:22is, I would have taken it to an all time high.
- 45:24Oh, look what we did with a new coach and a young quarterback.
- 45:29I mean it. This is typical Robert Kraft
- 45:32fashion and and he was bragging about it all season, all all
- 45:35week, all week long, dancing with Cardi B, showing up to all
- 45:39these stupid events. He's an.
- 45:41Idiot. His dance moves, he's horrible
- 45:43out there. He's.
- 45:44Horrible. I mean it's.
- 45:46People, people were making comments that it was very
- 45:48strange. She's.
- 45:49Strange, too. She was dancing with a robot on
- 45:52TMZ or whatever she was trying to do, trying to back her thing
- 45:56up on a robot. I mean, she's a weirdo, too.
- 45:59That whole organization's weird. All right, that's all I'm going
- 46:03to say. Look.
- 46:04Before we we wrap this one up, there was something that came
- 46:07out that because of all of this uproar that they're going to
- 46:10look at a way to possibly change the voting.
- 46:12And I have a list of things they're looking at to change.
- 46:15They haven't done in person voting since COVID.
- 46:18So they're talking about going back to in person voting.
- 46:21So you can't be like a coward and tough type and hide behind
- 46:24your keyboards. They want to separate coaches
- 46:27and contributors. So they want a group, coaches
- 46:31and contributors differently, which led to snubbing some major
- 46:35candidates. They want more transparency.
- 46:38So you got to release the votes and the ballots of the public.
- 46:41So you're not, you know, just like voting for, I mean,
- 46:45somewhat like the MVP vote. Someone voted for Justin.
- 46:47Her Why can't the you know, to me, I think the players should
- 46:51have a voice. They should be all vote, they
- 46:53should all get a chance to vote and it should be equal to 1 big
- 46:56vote. I think that's, I mean, they
- 46:58don't want that. They're not even asking.
- 47:00But that's what I players. Don't want to vote because I'm
- 47:03just watching the games. I'm just, I'm just sitting, but
- 47:05they played against these coaches and they played against
- 47:08these players. So that's my opinion.
- 47:10I think that all the players should get a vote of a
- 47:13particular and then they see how it rates and and they take that
- 47:16guy or they give him that one vote or first ballot votes.
- 47:19And, and I think the fans should have a chance to make that
- 47:21choice of voting as well. So would you, would you do like
- 47:24a like a panel of players and they they get one vote?
- 47:28Yes. And then obviously it doesn't
- 47:30count as one vote, but you do a percentage and then you see
- 47:33whoever wins that percentage. Like the player, like the
- 47:36players vote counts for 33%, the fan vote counts for like 20% of
- 47:42the the panel vote counts for 50%.
- 47:44You know, like whatever you come up with, it's not just this like
- 47:48elitist group. And that's one of the things.
- 47:51There's two more things are all the changes.
- 47:53They may include changing how this committee is made, whether
- 47:57it's going to be more sports historians and GM types or if
- 48:00it's more a fan type deal. And then they said they're going
- 48:04to move the vote closer to the NFL Honors because they didn't
- 48:08like all the leaks coming out. Yeah.
- 48:09That Belichick didn't make it early.
- 48:11That Eli didn't make it early. That's the media.
- 48:13A little upset about that. And that's another thing, why do
- 48:15the medias get the media people and the writers get an
- 48:18opportunity to have a voice on it and not the.
- 48:20Players, they're, they're the ones that cover it.
- 48:23I know daily. All right.
- 48:24And we cover it too. So why can't we have a vote?
- 48:27We cover it. We, I think, I think honestly,
- 48:29it's going to have to move in that direction too, because
- 48:31there there's so many more people that are listening to our
- 48:36avenues more so than reading print and the big like, you
- 48:40know, the post and all the other stuff.
- 48:41Like I think it's moving that direction.
- 48:44Will that group of whatever you want to call them ever give that
- 48:50right up? I don't.
- 48:51I don't think they ever will. I think it's a big problem and
- 48:56and again, the NFLI don't like who's running the organization
- 49:01and over the last couple of years when you see these
- 49:03different rule changes and, and, and, and obviously the referees
- 49:08have been a big problem with the NFL.
- 49:10It's all sports, but in big games, especially when it comes
- 49:14to bets and prop bets and obviously Vegas.
- 49:17I'm I'm going to tell you this right now.
- 49:19If you didn't see some things that happened in that game last
- 49:23night to be a problem and might have hurt obviously the betting
- 49:27in the sports betting, then I don't know what I'm not going to
- 49:29mention. If you watch the game, you know
- 49:31what I'm talking about, especially in the fourth
- 49:33quarter. So I I just thought there was a
- 49:35lot of things that happened in that game that kind of make you
- 49:37shake that. The one thing I could say is the
- 49:40refs, we're not calling penalties that much in the game.
- 49:43They kind of let the game go so but there.
- 49:45Was a punch in the face They let go on the sideline.
- 49:48What was it? Job punched Digs.
- 49:52Punched Digs in the face. Not that anyone was like feeling
- 49:55bad for Digs necessarily, but that guy should have probably
- 49:59been injected for that. Let me give you the guys that
- 50:02are still that the finalists that didn't make.
- 50:04By the way, do you think that ball, do you believe that Cooper
- 50:07Cup ball hit the ground? Because I didn't.
- 50:09Looks like it did for a second, like a like barely like grazed
- 50:14it. I thought it it touched it, but
- 50:16it doesn't really matter, you know?
- 50:18I'm just saying that it would have been a first down, maybe a
- 50:20touchdown and probably ends the game quicker.
- 50:23Well, maybe so. Listen, I'm just saying.
- 50:26Terrell Suggs is still not Hall of Famer.
- 50:28Marshall Yanda is still not a Hall of Famer.
- 50:33Reggie Wayne and Tori Holt are not Hall of Famers.
- 50:37Reggie. Reggie Wayne.
- 50:38Yeah, he's not yet. Wow.
- 50:41Well, he also played. He also played with Marvin
- 50:43Harrison and Clark. I mean, yeah.
- 50:45Sure, but I'm saying like, if we're talking about who's
- 50:47getting in and who's getting snubbed, like Marshall Yanda was
- 50:51the best guard for a decade. In the league, how many courts
- 50:55are in the Hall of Fame? That's that's what I'm saying.
- 50:56It's a. Good question.
- 50:57Let's see. I don't think a lot.
- 50:59Not a lot from this generation right now.
- 51:00A lot. A lot of them from the the 80s
- 51:02and the 90s will be. I think there's only like 3
- 51:04centers. I wish there was a rule that you
- 51:06had to induct the offensive lineman of some type every year
- 51:10because I feel like they just don't because nobody knows who
- 51:13they are. They don't watch lineman play.
- 51:15Why are you even asking some of these receiver types to tell to
- 51:20tell us who the best lineman are?
- 51:21They've never practiced A lineman technique in their
- 51:24entire lives. Well, you know, they they're not
- 51:26past setting, you know what I mean?
- 51:29Like when are they ever going to pass set as receivers?
- 51:31They don't know what to what they're looking at.
- 51:33They didn't have to go up against these guys.
- 51:35They didn't have to face Dexter Lawrence, you know, like that.
- 51:39There should be a guy that gets in every year.
- 51:41There should be alignment from both sides of the ball.
- 51:43It should just be mandatory. One guy from the line, one guy
- 51:47from the second level and one guy from the third level.
- 51:50Whether that means one guy in the backfield on offense and 1
- 51:53receiver and and then what, you know what have you, I don't
- 51:58know. I just feel it.
- 51:59To me, it just feels like they're doing it wrong and I
- 52:01hope they figure it out. But, you know, Goodell runs it,
- 52:03so it's probably not going to go how anybody wants it, so.
- 52:08Very interesting. I mean, if you're, if you're a
- 52:11football fan and you want to be, you want to have the opportunity
- 52:15to vote, I think that the NFL should give the fans a vote that
- 52:19the fans should be eligible to vote for whoever they want.
- 52:23And then they have a percentage, they get 20% of the vote.
- 52:25And, and I think it makes a lot of sense.
- 52:27It'll open up an opportunity for fans to be in tuned and and
- 52:31younger, the younger, the younger generation of fans that
- 52:34are into fantasy and sports and all that other stuff.
- 52:37They'll get an opportunity to actually put their their take
- 52:40out and and give their opinion out in the future of the future
- 52:44for Hall of Fame's Hall of Famer.
- 52:46So I think that makes more sense.
- 52:48But that's just my opinion. Anyways, my golf clap of the
- 52:51week. This deserves a golf clap.
- 52:55No doubt. Golf clap.
- 52:56Golf clap. Well, ladies and gentlemen, I
- 53:00don't know if this is a golf clap, but it's definitely
- 53:03somebody needs to be bitch smacked because, and he probably
- 53:06will when he goes to jail. Terrible, terrible story that
- 53:10came out during the Super Bowl week.
- 53:15Darren Lee is up for a homicide. And I, I, I, I kind of shrug my
- 53:21shoulders because it's typical New York Jet fashion where
- 53:24you're these guys or even New York Fashion that these guys are
- 53:28in the tabloids or something has gone wrong with these guys after
- 53:32they leave the sport of football.
- 53:34Well, Lee, according to police reports, was present at the time
- 53:41and told the law enforce law enforcement that the woman had
- 53:45been unconscious on the couch, possibly as a result for falling
- 53:50in the shower. Could you believe this man had
- 53:53the audacity to say that his girlfriend fell in the shower
- 53:57and he picked her up and he put her on the couch and then called
- 53:59the police. As you know, as the police tried
- 54:02to revive her and give her CPR and and announced her to be
- 54:05dead, they realized that she had bruises all over her body,
- 54:08including her face and realized it was a homicide.
- 54:12And Darren, Darren Lee was arrested and now is going to be
- 54:17up for murder, first degree murder.
- 54:19It's a horrible, horrible story. And and again, I, I'm not saying
- 54:24it's a Jets organization. I'm not blaming The Jets for
- 54:26somebody trying to murder somebody.
- 54:28But it just to me, when you look at organizations, do you ever
- 54:32see an organization like, and I'm just saying I like the big
- 54:36organizations and I'm not, I even the 49ers, let's say,
- 54:40because I've seen the Giants, we've seen domestic violence
- 54:42with the Giants, with Brown. We've seen Pittsburgh, the
- 54:46Pittsburgh Steelers with Antonio Brown, as we all know that
- 54:49story. And Le'veon Bell, So and The
- 54:52Jets, they're also an organization.
- 54:54The Bengals too, Pac-Man Jones with all his abuse and and Vince
- 55:00Young. We all know the Vince Young
- 55:02story with the strip bars and. Ray Rice.
- 55:05Ray Rice, another one, I mean at the Dallas, the Dallas Cowboys.
- 55:09How many Dallas Cowboys have been with domestic violence?
- 55:12I mean the Hardy. Situation with the Raiders.
- 55:14Yeah, I, I mean, it just, it keeps on going and going.
- 55:17Why isn't the NFL stepping in now?
- 55:20A lot of these players down the NFL after they leave the sport
- 55:23of And I was talking, by the way, shout out to Quinton
- 55:25Coppols. I was speaking to him today and
- 55:28had a great conversation with him and I, I brought up Darren
- 55:32Lee in the situation because he never played with Darren Lee,
- 55:35but it was that he was back. He was there after Darren Lee,
- 55:39but he said he kind of knew the guy.
- 55:40He said that the problem here with the NFL and the thought of
- 55:44the way the NFL is moving is they've always brushed things
- 55:48under the rug. They they don't take care of the
- 55:50players after they leave the sport and they find ways to not
- 55:53help players with the the mental issues that they have now.
- 55:58Darren Lee had mental issues when he was in the NFL.
- 56:01As a matter of fact, if I'm not mistaken, I think he was
- 56:04bipolar. The Jets obviously discovered
- 56:07that later in his career. He was he was a Jet for a very
- 56:10short time. He went to Kansas City, did win
- 56:12a Super Bowl. He was on that roster when they
- 56:14won the Super Bowl, but he really didn't play a big part of
- 56:16their fifth line. Yeah.
- 56:17So I this is a horrible story. I feel bad for the the family of
- 56:23the victim. And you know, it just tells me
- 56:26one thing that the NFL is not helping out these players after
- 56:30they leave the sport. Now, again, I'm not blaming the
- 56:32NFL on this. I'm not this is not the NF LS
- 56:35fault that this guy went on a rampage and killed his
- 56:37girlfriend. It just I think that if the NFL
- 56:41was more connected to the players after they left the
- 56:43sport, maybe these things wouldn't be happening as much.
- 56:47And it's been going on not only with the players in the sport,
- 56:49but after they leave the sport with CTE.
- 56:52And, and some of the dynamic things are, and I say dynamic
- 56:55things because the, the stories that you're hearing after the
- 56:59fact, what they're doing and murdering people and killing
- 57:02themselves and killing their families, It's just a horrible,
- 57:05horrible thing. So I wouldn't call this my Golf
- 57:07Club, but it is definitely something I, I think this man
- 57:11should be bitch smacked and he might get bitch smacked when he
- 57:13gets sentenced for life in prison, imprisonment.
- 57:17A horrible story, but hopefully the victim's family, you know,
- 57:23is a, you know, is a part of the the whole interrogation and all
- 57:27the the crap that is going to be coming for Darren Lee.
- 57:31So that is my golf clap of the day.
- 57:33So I'll give it a golf clap. I I don't want to give it a golf
- 57:35clap because it makes me makes me sick to my stomach.
- 57:38But typical New York Jets fashion.
- 57:41It's a horrible story. Anyways, that's it for our show.
- 57:44Ladies and gentlemen, thank you to all the fans out there on

- 59:39their time and when they're in the car, just listen to us and
- 59:42downloading us and, and just listening to the craziness or
- 59:45whatever the hell is going to come out of our mouths because
- 59:47we don't really know. This is not scripted.
- 59:49We just kind of go, we kind of have a, an, an outline of what's

- 1:00:50And that's what makes us unique that we don't have people
- 1:00:53talking to us in our, you know, our ears giving us information
- 1:00:57before we speak. You know, it's, it's really just
