Transcript
- 0:01Hey, y'all, welcome today's show. I promised in this episode I would
- 0:05continue discussing biblical references to the authority and the teaching authority and governing authority of
- 0:13the apostles and the church that they passed on to us, and I will.
- 0:19I'll get into that in just one second. But I also promised I
- 0:22would tell you when I find a particularly good cause that you might want to
- 0:28consider donating to, you know, giving some alms, doing a little penance.
- 0:34We all need to do it, I know as certainly do. This
- 0:40one is a little personal, actually, and it's not for me. Don't
- 0:43don't think I'm leading you down that path. No. I have a very
- 0:47good friend, really, one of my very best friends, one of my
- 0:50dearest friends, who lives in run. Her name is Alissa Brunelli, and
- 0:55you may know that name if you're a foodie. Bernelli's were the first to
- 1:02export peccorino romano cheese, a very good, high quality, excellent peccorino romano
- 1:08cheese to America. Her grandfather started the business, her father ran the business.
- 1:15They were very popular sixteds through nineties, well really even before that.
- 1:22It was absolutely excellent cheese. I mean we're talking on the same level as
- 1:29like Parmegiano Reggiano. I mean, this is the real deal, good stuff.
- 1:34Okay. The apparently the mafia began taking trying to take control of the
- 1:40business, profit off of the business. In the early nineties, Analyssa's father
- 1:46died under mysterious circumstances. Since that time, she has been fighting for her
- 1:53family business, trying to get control of it back. Not just for herself,
- 1:56she has nieces and nephews that she wants to pass the business on too.
- 2:02She's been fighting the courts, trying to get justice for her family and
- 2:06her father. And you know, she's been fighting. They've been fighting back,
- 2:12and just before Christmas, they took her house and apparently other family properties.
- 2:19She got to notice that, without any any warning, her house had
- 2:23been confiscated and sold to someone in New York, her family home, where
- 2:30her mother lives but she takes care of and lives with. She has finally
- 2:34under uncovered evidence that can swathe the courts. The Italian courts are famously corrupt,
- 2:44Okay, she has finally found evidence that she believes she can fight them
- 2:49with. And she, you know, she's put everything into this. She's
- 2:54a very brave, strong lady, and she's a wonderful person, very devout
- 3:00Catholic. She was of course baptized in you know, Saint Peter's Basilica,
- 3:06but she goes to all those grand old churches. She's from Umbria originally,
- 3:12but she lives and run for the business. She sends me pictures when she
- 3:15goes to mass of these beautiful churches, incredible art and everything. But she
- 3:20needs some help. She needs some help for her legal fees. Lawyers are
- 3:25expensive and she's been paying it all out of her own pocket. And she
- 3:30set up a website. Well she set up I guess it's through a website.
- 3:36Let me get the exact urel it is bonfire dot com. She's not
- 3:42one to ask for charity, okay, She's not just gonna say please send
- 3:46me money now. She put together a T shirt. She has a background
- 3:51in fashion sign She put together a very attractive T shirt which has the quote
- 3:54an Italian justice is the Queen of virtues. It's an old quote from other
- 4:00you know, one sixty BC. Ancient Rome was a publius or publist or
- 4:05I don't I don't say the names right, which she always reminds me of
- 4:12she's a great person, and if you'd like to help out, please go
- 4:16to bonfire dot com forward slash Justice dash n I n Dash Rome and look
- 4:25for her T shirt and it's a Justice in Rome. Justice is the Queen
- 4:30of Virtue. And if you would like to buy the T shirt, she
- 4:34gets, you know, some of the money and that would help a lot
- 4:38with her legal bills. I'm she's going to be setting up a blog soon
- 4:42which shows the whole story. And I'm telling you it's like it's like The
- 4:45Godfather. It's like the most fascinating crime novel. If you get into that
- 4:49kind of thing, it's gonna be dangerous. She's actually risking her life by
- 4:54doing that, so you know, that tells you what she's all about.
- 4:58And I just pray for her safety. If you can't buy a T shirt,
- 5:03if you can't help her out financially, I understand, of course,
- 5:05she understands, of course, but please pray for her safety and play pray
- 5:11that we'll she'll get ownership of her home back and control of the family business,
- 5:15and that there'll be justice. That's like the quote says, Justice is
- 5:21the Queen of virtues. So again that's Bonfire dot com Justice in Rome,
- 5:27and her name is Elissa Brunnelli. Anyway, let's get back into the subject
- 5:32at hand, which we are now getting into the Acts and the further writings
- 5:38of the Apostles after the close of the Gospels. We'll start with Acts four
- 5:44thirty two or thirty three. The whole group of believers was united heart and
- 5:49soul. No one claimed private ownership of any possessions, as everything they owned
- 5:54was held in common. The apostles continue to testify to the resurrection of the
- 5:59Lord with great hour, and they were all accorded great respect. The unity
- 6:03of the early Church is very important, and we're going to get into a
- 6:08lot on that when we start reading the Early Church Fathers Acts nine fifteen through
- 6:13twenty. The Lord replied, go, for this man is my chosen instrument
- 6:16to bring my name before the gentiles and kings and before the people of the
- 6:20israel. I myself will show him how much he must suffer from my name.
- 6:26Then Annius went, He entered the house and laid his hands on Saul
- 6:30and said, brother, Saul, I have been sent by the Lord Jesus,
- 6:33who appeared to you on your way here, so that you may recover
- 6:36your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit. It was as though scales
- 6:42fell away from his eyes, and immediately he was able to see again.
- 6:45So he got up. It was baptized, and after taking some food,
- 6:47he regained strength. After he had spent a few days with the disciples in
- 6:51Damascus, he began preaching in the synagogues. Jesus is the Son of God.
- 6:58Paul, of course, had you know the experience, were struck blind
- 7:01that Jesus said, Paul, while you're persecuting my people. One with authority
- 7:08from the apostles, Jesus sold to lay hands on him and he was baptized.
- 7:15This is a very important example of the sacraments. The authority of binding
- 7:24and losing is what freed him of his sins and brought him into the church.
- 7:30And yes, you must be baptized. I don't care what modern Protestants
- 7:34say. When the Baptists started saying that baptism is just symbolic and all this
- 7:41matters is faith, they're disagreeing with the Bible. And Jesus said, you
- 7:46must be born again of water, in the spirit of water, in the
- 7:49spirit baptism, the apostles, through the sacrament of Holy orders established the hierarchy
- 7:56in Order of the Church, Acts fourteen twenty three. In each of these
- 8:00churches they appointed elders, and with prayer and fasting, they commended them to
- 8:03the Lord in whom they had come to believe. There is a church hierarchy.
- 8:09It was created by Jesus Christ himself, who gave his authority to the
- 8:15apostles when he said, as we commemorate just a few days ago, he
- 8:18who hears you here me, he rejects you, rejects me. And him
- 8:22who sent me they had his full authority, and they appointed officers in the
- 8:28Kingdom of God on earth. You have to admit there is an authoritative structure
- 8:37in the early Church if you have any understanding of the words of the Bible.
- 8:43At the very least Acts fifteen one through twelve and twenty two through twenty
- 8:48nine. Then some men came down from Judea and taught the brothers, unless
- 8:52you have yourself circumcised in the tradition of Moses, you cannot be saved.
- 8:56This led to disagreement, and after Paul and Barnabas had quite a large a
- 9:01long argument with these men, it was decided that Paul Barnabas and others of
- 9:05the Church would go up to Jerusalem and discuss the question with the apostles and
- 9:09elders. The members of the church saw them off, and they passed through
- 9:13Phoenicia and Samaria and told how the Gentiles had been converted. And this news
- 9:16was received a great satisfaction by all the brothers. When they arrived at Jerusalem,
- 9:20they were welcomed by the Church and by the apostles and elders, and
- 9:24gave an account of all that God had done through them. But certain members
- 9:26of the Pharisees party who had become believers. These are the These are the
- 9:33Judaizers. These are the same as your tour abs, observe it, your
- 9:37seven your seven day administs, and others who say we still have to keep
- 9:43the Mosaic law, the very ones absolutely spoken against and condemned in the New
- 9:50Testaments, especially by Saint Paul. The Gentiles should be circumcised and instructed to
- 9:56keep the Law of Moses. That's exactly what they say. They say that
- 10:01the Law of Moses cannot be a change at all, that it applies to
- 10:07Christians and not just to Jews, even though the Bible says the exact opposite.
- 10:13The apostles and elders meant to look into the matter, and after a
- 10:16long discussion, Peter stood up and addressed him again. Peter is the pope.
- 10:22He's the leader of all the apostles. He's the one who speaks with
- 10:26the authority of Jesus, binding and losing. What he said was law just
- 10:35as much as the law of Moses, and actually more so, because the
- 10:39Jesus completed the law of Moses. He gave us a new covenant as Christians,
- 10:45and that law, in large part and with the full approval. An
- 10:48authority of Peter comes from Peter's mouth or those whom he authorized. Peter addressed
- 10:56him and said, my brother, He said, you know perfectly well that
- 11:01in the early days God made his choice among you. The gentiles were learned
- 11:05the good news from me, and so become believers from me. He didn't
- 11:09even say from us. There was no doubt, and it was recognized by
- 11:13all his authority, and God, who can read everyone's heart, showed his
- 11:22approval of them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he had
- 11:26to us. God made no distinction between them and us, since he purified
- 11:30their hearts by faith Why then do you put God to the test now by
- 11:33imposing on disciples the very burden that neither our ancestors nor we were strong enough
- 11:39to support. The law was not sufficient. The New Law of Christ perfects
- 11:48the old because it's only through the grace of Jesus Christ, only through the
- 11:56endwelling of the Holy Spirit, that mere man can uphold the law. We
- 12:03are insufficient on our own, and the Jews before Jesus could not uphold the
- 12:09law. If you don't believe that, try reading the Old Testament. It
- 12:15as just as Jesus chose Peter, the most fallible, the most flawed of
- 12:20all the apostles, to be the pope. You know, he raises up
- 12:24the weak to confound the strong. He raises up the sinful to confound the
- 12:31righteous. I mean, he raises up the what is it, the simple,
- 12:33to compound the wise. I may have repeat myself in it. Sure
- 12:37he probably chose the Jews, really, because the Jews were the most The
- 12:46Jews had the hardest time. I mean, read the Old Testament. They
- 12:48couldn't stick with the Law of Moses for more than a few days or a
- 12:52few years of the time at most. I mean, I mean I'm not
- 12:58criticized that the Jewish peoples of race, but I think most Jewish scholars would
- 13:03say God rose up the weakest, perhaps most flawed tribe on the face of
- 13:11the earth to be the example of the power of God for everyone else.
- 13:18I mean, I Jews are a wonderfully brilliant, intelligent, talented, so
- 13:24good at money and music. Probably should have put money first. Some very
- 13:30stereotypical, but I mean some of Jewish. My favorite comedians are Jewish.
- 13:35Many of my favorite musicians are Jewish. I have many, many Jewish friends,
- 13:39and one thing they will always basically say is, you know, look
- 13:45at us, how bad we are, how screwed up we are, and
- 13:48if we can do it, why can't everybody else. Well, you know
- 13:52that takes actual grace because they can't do it on their own. If they
- 13:56could, there would be no need for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Jesus
- 14:00Christ, it can come and give his life to save the gentiles. He
- 14:05gave his life for everybody Jew and Gentile. Had the Law of Moses been
- 14:11sufficient, the sacrifice of Christ would have been unnecessary. If you still believe
- 14:16Christians are bound to the Mosaic law, you make a mockery of the crucifixion
- 14:20of our Lord. Think about that for a minute, anyway, and you
- 14:30know Peter's authority. When he finished his sentence, here is his statement,
- 14:35but we believe that we are saved in the same way as they are,
- 14:37through the grace of our Lord Jesus. The entire assembly fell silent, and
- 14:43they listened to Paul and Barna Barbas and Paul describing all the signs of wonders
- 14:48God had worked through them among the Gentiles. When Peter spoke it was the
- 14:52last word. Then the apostles and elders in the whole church decided to choose
- 14:56delegates from among themselves to send to Antioch with Paul Bartibus. They chose judas
- 15:01known as Barsabbas and Silas, both leading men in the brotherhood, and gave
- 15:07them this letter to take with them. The apostles and elders, your brothers,
- 15:11send greetings to the brother of Gentile Birth and Antioch, Syria and Cilicia.
- 15:16We hear that some people are coming from here, but acting without authority
- 15:20from ourselves, have disturbed you with their demands and have unsettled your minds.
- 15:24And so we have decided unanimously to elect delegates to send them to you,
- 15:30with our well beloved Barnabas and Paul, who have committed their lives to the
- 15:33name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accordingly we have sending you Judas and Silas,
- 15:39who will confirm by word of mouth what we have written. It has
- 15:41been decided by the Holy Spirit and by ourselves not to impose on you any
- 15:46burden. Besides these essentials, you are to abstain from food, sacrifice,
- 15:50to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals, and from
- 15:54illicit marriages. Avoid these and you will do us right farewell. The Apostles
- 16:02had the authority to give infallible teaching on matters of morals and doctrine. They
- 16:08sent people authorized by them. No one popped up and said, you know
- 16:12what, I'm in form my own church. We're gonna have a schism,
- 16:15and this is the well You've got the Catholic Church. I'll have the the
- 16:22second Catholic Church, the first. You know, like you go into any
- 16:25town. I remember one time a friend of mine, he was so funny,
- 16:27he said, and he was Baptist, A good friend of mine.
- 16:30He said, I've never understood what the differences between the first Baptist church and
- 16:34the second Baptist church. He said, And every town I go into,
- 16:37you got a first Baptist church, and you got a second Baptist church.
- 16:41Then you go out in countryside and you'll see free will Baptist church. And
- 16:45he said, but what's the difference between the first and the second Baptist Church?
- 16:48I said, I think the first Baptist church was the first one in
- 16:52town and the second one was the second one in town. I mean,
- 16:57it is so common among Protestants to have schisms, and someone will just go
- 17:02off and form a whole new church and say, you know, the last
- 17:04one got it wrong. This is a new one. He actually thought that
- 17:08the first and second Baptist Church were two different churches. You know that there
- 17:15was quite a lustrative the church is as one body, though schism is not
- 17:23allowed and it was expressly condemned in the Bible. There should be only one
- 17:27denomination. And when our Lord comes again, where we've been assured by the
- 17:33blessed Virgin Mary, and many messages to mystics and such Christian mystics, I
- 17:37mean, you know, biangels and saints conveying messages that there will be only
- 17:45one church. Everyone will come back together. All the Protestants denominations will become
- 17:48Catholic again, the Orthodox will become Catholic again. Even the Muslims and Jews
- 17:55will convert before the end of time. So you know, I always into
- 18:00things with pray, hope and don't worry. Well, you can pray,
- 18:03hope and don't worry and believe in the words of our Lord and this Blessed
- 18:07Mother, etc. That, as pattis, things are now. We're not
- 18:11in the apocalypse. This is not the end time. We still have to
- 18:15endure into the end. And that may give you encouragement or it may discourage
- 18:18you because a lot of people think things are so bad they're actually hoping this
- 18:22is the end. We're nowhere near. I'm sorry, we are nowhere near.
- 18:27Remember to God, a days as a thousand years, and a thousand
- 18:30years as a day. We're nowhere near the end of time. Even though
- 18:37we are always in end times. From the moment Jesus was crucified and resurrected
- 18:41we began to be in the end times. We've only gone through two thousand
- 18:45years if we were take the Bible literally, we've only gone two days.
- 18:51You know, if again, some people that take the Bible very literally,
- 18:55and they would say a week, you know, week is seven days.
- 19:02We're only two days into that week. We could have another five thousand years
- 19:07to go, and frankly we'll probably need it. And things are going to
- 19:11get a lot worse for they get better. We are assured of that as
- 19:15well. Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better,
- 19:18all right, Romans twelve fourth through eight. Just as each of us has
- 19:22various parts in one body, and the parts do not all have the same
- 19:26function in the same way, all of us, though there are so many
- 19:30of us, make up one body in Christ, and as different parts we
- 19:33are all joined together. Then, since the gifts that we have differ,
- 19:37recording the grace that was given to each of us. If it is a
- 19:40gift of prophecy, we should prophesies as much as their faith tells us.
- 19:45If it is a grace practical service, let us devote ourselves to serving.
- 19:48If it is teaching, to teaching, if it is encouraging, to encouraging.
- 19:52When you give, you should give generously from your heart. If you're
- 19:56put in charge, you must be conscientious. If you do work some mercy
- 20:00let it be because you enjoyed doing them. We each have our own roles.
- 20:03Just as there are only twelve apostles, the church chooses its bishops,
- 20:10it ordains its priests. They alone have the authority to perform the Mass,
- 20:18to change bread and wine into the spiritual body and blood of our Lord.
- 20:25Again, there's just this movement, this like. Well, on the one
- 20:29hand, you've got Anglicans that say, why can't I have Mass and a
- 20:32Catholic church? Well, I'm sorry, you're not Catholic. You broke away,
- 20:36you don't. That's not your role anymore. If you want to submit
- 20:38to the church, if you want to become Catholic, you can absolutely have
- 20:41Mass and a Catholic church. There are women who say, why can't women
- 20:45be priests? Well, that's not your role. That's not the role given
- 20:48to you by God and his apostles and those authorized to speak in his name.
- 20:56There are many other roles that you can perform much better than any man
- 21:00can, So maybe focus on those. My role is certainly not to be
- 21:06a priest. I am I do not have the constitution the personality to be
- 21:11a priest. I would be a terrible priest. I'm a writer. I'm
- 21:15a speaker, I can do that. I can't be a priest. I
- 21:22can't be a monk. I could not submit to the authority of a monastery.
- 21:25It's not for me to say, you have to change your rules to
- 21:29fit me. No, I have to fit. I have changed my life
- 21:33to live as God wants me to. That's that's part of original sin,
- 21:40that's part of concupiscence, that's part of free will. It's up to me
- 21:44to change, not the church to change. Romans thirteen one through two.
- 21:49Everyone is to obey the governing authorities, because there is no authority except from
- 21:55God. And so whatever authorities exist have been appointed by God. So anyone
- 22:00who disobeys and authorities, rebelling against God's ordinance and rebels must expect to receive
- 22:04the condemnation they deserve. Many people will quote that as if it applies to
- 22:11government, you know, political authorities, and in some you know, to
- 22:15some regard. It does. Of course, had our sisters followed that,
- 22:21there would be no America. We did rebel against the church, I mean
- 22:23against England and it's apostate church. But I think in this case it certainly
- 22:33applies to church authority. When Martin Luther, or King Henry the eighth or
- 22:37Calvin, or you know, all those guys said, you know, forget
- 22:44it. We don't follow the Catholic Church anymore. We're forming our own church
- 22:49based on the Bible. Thows the authority. They just disobeyed the Bible,
- 22:53specifically when it said they had to submit to authority. That's the original sin
- 23:02of the devil, who said, you know, he would rather rule in
- 23:06hell than serve God Romans fifteen twenty through twenty one. And what is more,
- 23:12it has been my rule to preach the Gospel only where the name of
- 23:15Christ has not already been heard. For I did not build on another's foundation
- 23:19in accordance with the scriptures. Those who have never been told about him will
- 23:23see him, and those who have never heard about him will understand Harris and
- 23:27division. I understand Paul. Here, Saint Paul is saying it was not
- 23:34his role. He didn't have the authority to preach or teach in churches that
- 23:41were found and ruled by other bishops, by other apostles. There's a very
- 23:47strict hierarchy, and each man in his office is given authority over his sphere,
- 23:55and he's not to exceed that authority. Harris division have always been condemned
- 24:00Romans sixteen seventeen through twenty. I urge you, brothers, be on your
- 24:03guard against the people who are out to stir up disagreements and to bring difficulties
- 24:10against the teaching which you are learnt. Avoid them. People of that sort
- 24:15are not servants of our Lord Christ, but of their own greed, and
- 24:18with talk that sounds smooth and reasonable, they deceive minds of the unwary.
- 24:23Your obedience has become known to everyone, and I am very pleased by it.
- 24:26But I should want you to be learned only in what is good,
- 24:30and unsophisticated about all that is evil. The God of Peace will soon crush
- 24:34Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
- 24:40No schism, no division. So one starts teaching something that is against
- 24:45but the apostles taught they're to be absolutely ignored, excluded, turn away from
- 24:52them. Later, Saint Paul will say, let them be unto you as
- 24:56a heathen. Give that man over to Satan, which is excommunication. That's
- 25:02that's pretty pretty harsh again. I mean, Martin Luther had no authority and
- 25:08the founders of all Protestant churches are violating that versus the Bible as well.
- 25:17Corinthians one, ten, brothers, I urge you, in the name of
- 25:19our Lord Jesus Christ, not to have factions among yourself, but all to
- 25:23be an agreement in what you profess, so that you are perfectly uniting your
- 25:27beliefs and judgments. In this. You know, I have to criticize the
- 25:30Catholic Church. We have factions. We certainly have factions, and unfortunately Pope
- 25:36Francis is making that worse. You know, there are many Catholics. I
- 25:42consider myself sympathetic to the traditional Catholic cause I'm not what they call a set
- 25:52of vacantist set. I have trouble pronouncing that one as well, meaning the
- 25:56seat is empty, and I don't recognize the authority the current Pope. No,
- 26:00I don't. I'm not a follower of that school. But I would
- 26:04much rather go to a traditional Latin Mass than the modern Nervis Ordo. I
- 26:10don't like the modern nor in many regards. The traditional Latin Mass is well
- 26:18as older. It's more traditional, it's certainly more beautiful, it's more reverent,
- 26:22it's more profound and you know what we call Catholic calisthenics of nervous hordo
- 26:33and all the you know, shaking hands and everything. It's a little um.
- 26:40It's just not my cup of tea. But you know, as past
- 26:48the apostle said, Peter has spoken, I just wish our current pope would
- 26:53make a different decision and be a little more clear and a little more consistent
- 27:00and not seem to show such animosity. But toward Catholic said, believe otherwise,
- 27:07because he's actually causing the division. He's not changing the teachings of faith
- 27:12and morals, so he's not any way violating the guarantee of the Holy Spirit
- 27:21to that the pope would be infallible on teachings of morals and doctrine. But
- 27:26he is definitely causing division in the church. And I really really really wish
- 27:33he wouldn't. I hope maybe he will. Maybe he will read Corinthians one
- 27:40ten, Corinthians three eleven. For nobody can lay down any other foundation than
- 27:45the one which sits there already, namely Jesus Christ. And upon which did
- 27:51Jesus say his foundation was? It was the rock of Peter and the Catholic
- 27:55Church. No one can lay down any other foundation and elsewhere the Bible says
- 28:02the church is the pillar and foundation of the truth. The church is the
- 28:08foundation that church founded by Jesus Christ, which is the one holy Catholic and
- 28:12Apostolic Church. Not to criticize anyone else's faith. Each person will be judged
- 28:18on their own faith in actions. But if you're looking for the church with
- 28:22authority and the fullness of the truth, there's only one. That the Apostles
- 28:27acted with great authority over all Christians is obvious. I mean the Bible,
- 28:33the early Church was certainly an organized religion. People today will say, I
- 28:37don't believe in organized religion. How can you read the Bible and not understand
- 28:41that had the Church of Jesus was the most organized, and that's why it
- 28:48stood the test of time through two thousand years. There's still the same Catholic
- 28:52Church now as there was. As I keep saying, it's built on the
- 28:56very bones of Saint Peter. His grave is under the altar at Saint Peter's
- 29:03Basilica Corinthians five one through five. It is widely reported that there's sexual immorality
- 29:10among you, immorality of a kind that has not even found among the gentiles.
- 29:15I wonder what that might be talked about. Well, they tell you
- 29:18that one of you is living with his stepmother, and so and you so,
- 29:25and you so filled with your own self importance. It would have been
- 29:30better if you had been grieving bitterly, so that that man who had done
- 29:33this thing were turned out of the community. For my part, however distant
- 29:37I am physically, I am present in spirit and have already condemned the man
- 29:42who behaved this way, just as so of a present in person. When
- 29:47you have gathered together in the name of our Lord Jesus, with the presence
- 29:51of my spirit and in the power of our Lord Jesus, hands such a
- 29:55man over to Satan to be destroyed as far as natural life is concerned,
- 30:00so that on the day of the Lord, his spirit might be saved.
- 30:06That's a strong statement he is saying. Even though he is not present,
- 30:11he has ruled this man is to be absolutely rejected, thrown out of the
- 30:15church, spurned, scorned, I mean, treated with utter content, given
- 30:22over to Satan, so that he might realize the gravity of his misdeeds and
- 30:30change his ways and maybe come back to the church. You know, in
- 30:33this day and time when we're just like pacifying and trying to be so tolerant
- 30:40of everything. I think we know what Saint Paul would say about the transgender
- 30:44movement or gay marriage. He would say, hand them over to Satan,
- 30:49cutting them out of the church. They have to repent, and then welcome
- 30:55them back into the church. But until they realize the wrongness of their lifestyle
- 31:00and actions, there's no place. There's no place for that in a Christian
- 31:07church of any denomination, especially the Catholic Church. Corinthians six two through three.
- 31:15Do you not realize that the Holy People of God are to be the
- 31:18judges of the world, And if the world is to be judged by you,
- 31:22are you not competent for petty cases? Do you not realize that we
- 31:26shall be the judges of angels? Then? Quite certainly ever matters of life.
- 31:30Can you imagine when we're talking about the authority of the church, they're
- 31:37saying that the saints, especially the apostles and disciples, would not just judge
- 31:44humanity, but the angels. That is serious authority, And I mean Corinthians
- 31:56seven one through nineteen thirty two through forty. Now for the questions about which
- 32:00you wrote, yes, this is a good thing for a man not to
- 32:02touch a woman. Yet to avoid immorality, every man should have his own
- 32:07wife, and every woman her own husband. The husband must give to his
- 32:10wife which she has a right to expect, and so to the wife to
- 32:14her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but
- 32:17the husband does. And in the same way, the husband does not have
- 32:21authority over his body but the wife. You must not deprive each other except
- 32:25by mutual consent for a limited time, to leave yourselves free for prayer,
- 32:30and to come again together again afterwards. Otherwise Satan may take advantage of any
- 32:35lack of self control to put you to the test. I am telling you
- 32:37this is a concession, and in order I should still like everyone to be
- 32:42as I am myself. Saint Paul was celibate, and he had always said
- 32:47it was better for people to be celibate, but that it was also necessary
- 32:52for many of us to marry. But everyone has his own gift from God.
- 32:58One this kind the next something different. To the unmarried to widows,
- 33:01I say it is good for them to stay the same as they are like
- 33:04me, But if they cannot exercise self control, let them marry. Since
- 33:08it is better to be married than to be burnt up to the married,
- 33:12I give this ruling. It is not mine, but the Lord's. A
- 33:15wife must not be separated from her husband, or if she has already left
- 33:17him, she must remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband.
- 33:22Okay. No divorce and remarriage. Okay, he is saying, if they
- 33:27separate, no can't remarry. That's pretty stern right. And a husband must
- 33:31not divorce his wife. Again, divorce is not allowed in Christianity. Jesus
- 33:37said it in all four Gospels. No divorce, sorry, none anyway.
- 33:44Let everyone you can separate. I mean, if someone you can hear abusive
- 33:47relationship separations. Okay, But Saint Paul's saying, if you separate, you
- 33:52can't be remarried. Only the Church is the authority to a null a marriage,
- 33:55which frees the people to the marry again, because the Church was given
- 34:00the power to bind and loose. No civil authority has that power. Civil
- 34:06divorce is absolutely immoral and has destroyed our society. Anyway, Let every man
- 34:14continue in his part which the Lord has allotted to him, as he was
- 34:17when God called him. This is the rule that I give to all churches
- 34:21to be circumcises of no importance, to be uncircumcises of no importance. What
- 34:25is important is the keeping of God's commandments. I should like for you to
- 34:30have your minds free from all worry. The unmarried man gives his mind to
- 34:34the Lord's affairs and how he can please the Lord. But the man who
- 34:38is married gives his mind to the affairs of the world and how he can
- 34:40please his wife, and he has divided in mind. So too the unmarried
- 34:46woman and the virgin gives her mind to the Lord's affairs and to being holy
- 34:51embody and spirit. But the married woman gives her mind to the affairs of
- 34:53the world and how she can please her husband. I am saying this only
- 34:57to help you, and not to put a bridle on you, so that
- 35:00everything is as it should be, and you're able to give your undivided attention
- 35:04to the Lord. If someone with strong passion thinks that he is behaving badly
- 35:07towards his fiancee and the things should take their due course, he should follow
- 35:12his desires. There is no sin in it. They should marry. But
- 35:20if he stands firm in his resolution without any compulsion, but with full control
- 35:24of his will, and decides to let her remain as his fiancee. Then
- 35:28he is acting well. In other words, he who marries his fiance is
- 35:31doing well, but he is not still better. A wife is tied as
- 35:35long as her husband is alive, but if the husband dies, she is
- 35:38free to marry anybody she likes, only it must be in the Lord,
- 35:42must be a Christian marriage. Other words, she would be happier if she
- 35:45says, as she is to my way of thinking, and I believe that
- 35:49I too have the spirit of God. So what is Saint Paul saying?
- 35:52Wow? Imagine if you turned you went into your church on Sunday morning,
- 36:00or let's say you turned on a preacher on television, and this presumably Protestant
- 36:06minister is saying, it's better for you to remain celibate. If you're tempted
- 36:12and can't remain celibate, it's better for you to marry. We don't allow
- 36:16fornication, we don't allow adultery. God will not allow divorce, and we
- 36:22don't allow divorce. We don't know birth control. We have the authority over
- 36:29what is right and moral, and we think that birth control is immoral,
- 36:34and that abortion is immortal sin and one of the most abominable, abominable practices
- 36:44known to man, and must be outlawed. That is not going to happen
- 36:47in a Protestant church. Only the Catholic Church has the authority to decide on
- 36:53matters of morals and doctrines. Only a Catholic priest can get up and say
- 36:58that, and everyone who is a Christian should actually submit to that rule,
- 37:05whether the Catholic or not, because it's in accord with the scriptures Corinthians twelve
- 37:12fourth through thirty. Not all Christians held the same office. There are many
- 37:15different gifts, but is always the same spirit. There are many different ways
- 37:19of serving, but is always the same Lord. There are many different forms
- 37:22of forms, forms of activity, but in everybody it is the same God
- 37:28who is at work in them all. The particular manifestation of the spirit granted
- 37:32to each one is to be used for the general good. To one is
- 37:36given the spirit of the gift of utterance, of expressing wisdom, to another
- 37:39the gift of utterances, expressing knowledge in accordance with the same spirit, to
- 37:44another faith in the same spirit, and to another the gifts of healing,
- 37:47through this one spirit, to another the works of miracles, and to another
- 37:52prophecy, and to another the power of distinguishing spirits, and to another the
- 37:55gift of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongue. But all but
- 38:00at work, and all of these is one of the same spirit, distributing
- 38:04them at will to each individual. For as with the human body, which
- 38:08is a unity, although it has many parts, all the parts of the
- 38:10body, though many, still make a single body, so it is with
- 38:15Christ. We are all baptized into one body in a single spirit, Jews
- 38:20as well as Greek Slays, as well as free men, and we are
- 38:22all given the same spirit to drink. And indeed the body consists not of
- 38:27one member, but of many. If the foot, we'll say, I
- 38:30am not a hand, and so I'm not belong to the body, it
- 38:32does not belong to the body a less For that, if the ear were
- 38:37to say, I am not an eye, and so I'm not belong to
- 38:38the body, it would not stop it's blowing to the body. If the
- 38:42whole body were just an eye, how would there be any hearing? If
- 38:45the whole body we're hearing, how would there be smelling? As it is.
- 38:49God has put all the separate parts of the body as he chose.
- 38:52I'm going to skip ahead. Is a little bits, a very well in
- 38:53passage. Now Christ's body is as yourselves, each of you the part to
- 39:00play in the whole. And those whom God is appointed the church our first
- 39:02apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, after them, miraculous powers, then
- 39:08gifts of healing, helpful acts, guidance, various kinds of tongues. Are
- 39:14all them apostles, or all prophets, or all teachers, or all miracle
- 39:19workers? Do all of them have the gifts of healing? Do all of
- 39:22them speaking tongues and interpret them? No, no one was recognized as an
- 39:28apostle, but an apostle. No one was a bishop or a priest,
- 39:31but a bishop or a priest. Each of us have our roles. Some
- 39:36of us must submit to the authority of others if we're going to do the
- 39:39will of God Again. All these female ministers and all these feminists who think
- 39:46they should be priests, they don't. It's not acceptable. That's not their
- 39:55role. They can be teachers, they can be writers, they can be
- 40:00speakers, just like I'm doing. But to be a priest is not in
- 40:07the design of Jesus Christ, as taught through his apostles. Apostles all those
- 40:13who think they have a better understanding of the Bible and a better understanding of
- 40:17the Word of God than the Catholic Church, who thinks they should start a
- 40:22new church, they don't have that authority. Only the apostles and those given
- 40:27that authority to them through them. Those who prophesy at like Joseph Smith or
- 40:35is somebody else a different prophecy, are not of God. That's not their
- 40:42role. It says at the end of the Book of Revelations there will be
- 40:45no further prophecy. No one was recognized as having the authority to form a
- 40:52new church, to teach a new doctrine other than that held universally by the
- 40:57One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I'm gonna see I'm in Corinthians. Let
- 41:05me see how I can wrap up Corinthians, and we'll pick up tomorrow after
- 41:09that Corinthians fourteen thirty three, thirty six or thirty eight. For God is
- 41:15a god not of disorder, but of peace, as in all the churches
- 41:20of God's Holy people. Do you think that you are the source of God,
- 41:23of the Word of God, or that you are the only people to
- 41:27whom it has come. Anyone who claims to be a prophet or to have
- 41:30any spiritual powers must recognize that I am writing to you as what I am
- 41:36writing to you is a commandment from the Lord. If anyone does not recognized,
- 41:42this is because that person has not recognized himself. Again, Saint Paul
- 41:49is saying God is a God of unity and of order. This is an
- 41:52organized religion. Yes, Christianity is organized religion. If you think you can
- 41:58be a Christian without a church urch, you're not following the words of the
- 42:01Bible or the will of God. And what does he say about his authority?
- 42:07What I am writing to you as a commandment of the Lord Second Corinthians
- 42:15two six through nine seventeen. The punishments already imposed by the majority was quite
- 42:21enough for such a person. And now, by contrast, you should forgive
- 42:24and encourage him all the more, or he may be overwhelmed the extent of
- 42:28his distress. That is why I urge you to give your love toward him
- 42:30with death and an expression. This was in fact my reason for writing to
- 42:36test your quality and whether you're completely obedient. At least we do not adulterate
- 42:40the word of God, as so many do. But it is in all
- 42:44purity, as envoys of God and in God's presence that we speak in Christ.
- 42:50Remember I told you first Corinthians. He talks about the man who had
- 42:52married his stepmother and he was to be cast out of the church. Well,
- 42:57apparently he had repented and was coming back, and Saint Paul was saying,
- 43:00now forgive him bringing back in the church. But what does he say,
- 43:05very clearly, I'm wanting to make sure you're obedient to what I'm saying.
- 43:09This is authority, authority given to God. And he says, even
- 43:14in the time of Saint Paul, other people were adulterating the word of God.
- 43:19There were so many heresies in the early Church. There were so many
- 43:22false teachings, and Saint Irenaeus and others condemned them and put them down.
- 43:29Only wish, only wish someone had done the same. You know, when
- 43:34Martin Luther and King Henry the eighth and those got away with it, telling
- 43:42an illiterate population that they knew what was best and that the Catholic Church was
- 43:49wrong, and they had to follow them, because they have led millions astray.
- 43:52Second Corinthians, chapter eight, seventh through eight. More, as you
- 43:55were rich in everything, faith elk would understanding concerned everything, and love for
- 44:00us too, then make sure that you excel in this work of generosity too.
- 44:05I'm not saying this is an order, but test you the genus of
- 44:07your love against the concern of others. He was essentially saying, I'm telling
- 44:12you to give homes to the poor. If you obey it, that you're
- 44:16obediate. But I'm not going to force you. Second Corinthians, chapter ten,
- 44:22four through nine. The weapons with which we do battle or not those
- 44:25of human nature, but they have the power in God's cause to demolish fortresses.
- 44:31It is the ideas that we demolish every presumptuous notion that is set up
- 44:36against the knowledge of God, and we bring every thought into captivity and obedience
- 44:39to Christ. Once you have given your complete obedience, we are prepared to
- 44:45punish any disobedience. Look at the evidence of your eyes. Anyone who has
- 44:50convinced that he belongs to Christ should go on and reflect that we belong to
- 44:53Christ no less than he does. Maybe I have rather taken too much pride
- 44:58in our authority. But our Lord gave us that for the building, for
- 45:01building you up, not for knocking you down. And I'm not going to
- 45:05be shamed and letting you think that I can put fear into you only by
- 45:09letter. Again, he's saying he has full authority over this church, given
- 45:15by God for the building up of the church. Second Corinthians, chapter eleven,
- 45:22two through five, twelfth through fifteen. The jealousy that I feel for
- 45:25you is you see God's own jealousy. I gave you all in marriage to
- 45:30a single husband of virgin pure for presentation of Christ. But I am afraid
- 45:35that, just as a snake with his cunning seduced eve, your minds may
- 45:38be led astray from single minded devotion to Christ, because any chance comer has
- 45:44only to preach of Jesus other than the one we preached. Or you have
- 45:46only to receive a spirit different from the one you received, or a gospel
- 45:51different from the one you accepted, and you put up with that only too
- 45:54willingly. Now I consider that I am not the least inferior to the super
- 45:59apostle. Okay, he is warning them that they are falling. They're going
- 46:05astray, following false teachings, schisms, people causing division, and he says
- 46:10he's not the least inferior to the apostles, and he has authority over them,
- 46:16and he's telling them, do what I tell you. I will go
- 46:21on acting as I do to present, to cut the ground. I will
- 46:25go on acting as I do at present, to cut the ground from under
- 46:29the feet of those who are looking for a chance to be proved my equals
- 46:32and grounds for boasting. These people are counterfeit apostles, dishonest workers, disguising
- 46:38themselves as apostles of Christ. There's nothing astonishing about this. Even Satan disguises
- 46:44themselves as an angel of light. It is nothing extraordinary. Then when his
- 46:49servants disguise themselves as a servant of unrighteousness, of uprighteousness, as the servants
- 46:54of uprighteousness, they will come to the end appropriate for what they have done.
- 47:00Even the time of Saint Paul, there are people coming up saying they
- 47:04knew better what the Catholic churchs taught, and we're saying, follow me,
- 47:08I am holier than the Catholics, And he's warning them that those are agents
- 47:15of Satan, not of God. He was absolutely forceful in his governance andconfident
- 47:25in his authority. Second Corinthians, Chapter thirteen one through two, ten through
- 47:30eleven. This will be the third time I have confronted you. That's going
- 47:35to get your attention right. Whatever the misdemeanor, the evidence of two or
- 47:39three witnesses was required to sustain a charge. I gave you notice once,
- 47:45and now though I am not with you, I give you notice again,
- 47:49just as I was with you for a second time, for those who send
- 47:52before and to all others. And as to this effect, when I do
- 47:54come next time, I shall have no mercy. That is why i'm this
- 48:00one still far away, so that when I am with you, I shall
- 48:02not have to be harsh with the authority that the Lord has given me.
- 48:07And authority is as for building up and not for breaking down. To this
- 48:10end, then, brothers, we wish you joy. Try to grow perfect,
- 48:15encourage one another, have a common mind, and live in peace,
- 48:20and the God of love and peace shall be with you. I think,
- 48:23ask where we're in it for the day we just got through Corinthians. There's
- 48:27a lot to go. We'll start regulations tomorrow. But think about what he's
- 48:30saying. I have told you three times, and you don't want me to
- 48:35come down there. I mean, it's like you know the kids of the
- 48:37back seat, don't maybe come back there. He is saying, and what
- 48:42he say with the authority that God gave him, with the authority that the
- 48:46Lord has given me, No one else said authority of that church. Saint
- 48:52Paul had authority for that church, the authority of the apostles, admonishing,
- 49:00erecting, teaching. Authority of the apostles was given by God, and it
- 49:06still resides as guaranteed by God in the church today. That pope, being
- 49:13the head of the church, a flawed man. Justice was Saint Peter,
- 49:19in communion with the cardinals and the bishops, has the full authority to say
- 49:25what is right and wrong. If you believe abortions okay, and the Church
- 49:30says it's wrong, you're wrong. If you believe homosexuality is natural and normal
- 49:36and gay marriage is okay, and the church says it's wrong, you're wrong.
- 49:42The Church speaks for Jesus Christ himself, who said he had all authority
- 49:49in heaven and earth. He who hears you, hears me, who rejects
- 49:52you, rejects me, And he who sent me. If the Catholic Church
- 49:58says the Eucharist the actual body and blood of Jesus Christ, the you Christ
- 50:02is the actual body and blood of Jesus Christ. If the Catholic Church says
- 50:08it has the fullness of the truth, the Catholic Church is the fullness of
- 50:10the truth. The Bible itself tells you the authority given to the apostles by
- 50:21God. Nowhere does the Bible say the Bible is the sole authority soul of
- 50:24fide. That's the foundational tenet of Protestant belief. It says the Church is
- 50:31the filler pillar and foundation of the truth, and there would be no division,
- 50:37no disagreement, one in unity, one in mind and spirit. That's
- 50:43what Jesus said, That's what the apostle said. And tomorrow we will continue
- 50:47this. I think we may continue on it for several days. Yeah,
- 50:52I know, I need to get back into some politics pretty soon. We'll
- 50:55take a break for a day or two. Politics and culture and everything else
- 51:00that I'm not going to be censored, as the title the name of this,
- 51:07as the name of this podcast would indicate. But this is very important.
- 51:09This is extremely important important because if I say my beliefs are based on
- 51:19sound Christian doctrine. Upon what do I base those beliefs? If I say
- 51:25that the transgender movement is evil, the transhumanist movement is essentially the Antichrist upon
- 51:36What do I base my beliefs? I base it on the one true secure
- 51:43thing, not my interpretation of what was written in the Bible two thousand years
- 51:47ago, but the continuous and authority teaching authority ability the commission would be a
- 51:57better word of the cat. The Church, the only entity on earth that
- 52:02can tell you what the Bible, the words of the Bible actually means,
- 52:07with absolute accuracy, as guaranteed by Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in all
- 52:15matters of faith and doctrine and morals. All right, y'all, in the
- 52:21words of Saint Padre Pia, pray, hope and don't worry, and I
- 52:24will talk to you tomorrow.
