- 0:16SPEAKER_01: It's your boys, the Fancy Football Sports Minds.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: It's Manny James Games and your boy Joe, the Birdman over here coming at you with a new episode.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: Fantasy Football Sports Minds, episode 11.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much for joining us here again.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: Joe, how are you doing today, my friend?
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: I'm doing pretty well.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: It was uh a rough week for fantasy, but I gotta say that the two leagues I'm doing the best.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: I'm continuing to do well.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Um, but you know, I'm just getting kicked in the teeth in my other leagues, and it hurts.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: I'm barely hanging on in a couple, and I'm completely out of it in a couple.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: Um, so you know, six leagues, I'm in the middle for two of them, I'm at the top for two of them, and I'm dead last in a couple of them.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: So I'm all over the place.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: And it's weird, man.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Some of the same teams, like not same, but very similar teams.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Uh, you know, it's matchup dependent, and a lot of it has not worked out in my favor.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: But it's a new week.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: I'm still going forward, still trying to do whatever I can to hang on.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: But uh fantasy-wise, it was it was a rough week for me.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: How about you?
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, I can relate.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: I have one league where I'm fighting.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: I just uh went one game.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Um, that was week number nine, so I just went one game behind 500, and I'm like the eighth spot now in a seven-man playoff.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I gotta fight for it.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: You know, uh I got some uh favorable news, you know.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Obviously, some injured players coming back here, so I know uh that's some working out for you.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Uh, I saw um different players we're gonna talk about here in a minute, but I I have one league where I'm obviously eight and one in, or two leagues I'm eight and one in, and a lot of that obviously the leagues that you could be doing bad in when you do so many leagues, it has to do with draft position, right?
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: And uh when you got a lot of competitive leagues, there's guys that know what they're doing.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately, certain players might not fall to you, so it's all about obviously people adapting, and sometimes it just the ball doesn't fall your roll your way, and that's just how it is sometimes.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: So um it's all about wheel and dealing, trying to do what you can.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: And I know Joe try to stay alive in some of those leagues, and unfortunately, it doesn't work out that way sometimes.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: But um, the other day, it's about fighting to the end.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: So uh you you you did an admirable job trying to do so, and it just doesn't it doesn't work out that way sometimes.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: Uh but uh get into some injuries.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: Speaking of injuries, we had some new injuries this week.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Uh Dallas Godd from uh Eagles on IR, he's gonna be out for at least four to six weeks, right?
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: IR is four weeks, but you never know, bro.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: Fractured forearm could cause bigger delays because I mean that uh impedes his ability to catch the ball.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, he could be coming back and then just not be productive.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: You know, uh Joshua Palmer's on IR as well.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: He's gonna be out for four weeks, so now another Chargers receiver down, you know.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: So that's gonna affect his stock.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: Uh Quentin Johnson, you know, stock should have been up, but I mean Jalen Gython Gyaton was a guy that was getting some of those looks.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: So who knows what's happening in San Diego or LA, whatever they are, the Chargers now.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Cam Akers, uh towards the uh is ACL, he's out for the season.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: So Madison goes back to being RB7.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: So if you have him here, he just got a slight bump up.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: Uh so congratulations to you, Madison owners.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Now you get your uh 12 points a game back.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: Congratulations.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: Um Daniel Jones is out for the season.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Uh not that not surprising because he hasn't been producing anyways.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: Feel sorry for the guy, you know, towards ACL.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: That's always sucks for any player that gets injured, you know.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: But I I don't feel sorry for a Giants franchise that invested so much money in a quarterback because that franchise just went back another five years, you know, as an Eagles fan.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: I'm happy for them, you know, so that sucks for them.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Uh Christian Watson, another hamstring injury.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: That guy's gonna be out for another four to six weeks.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: You know, hamstrings have been you know beating up Green Bay.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: You know, do they play on turf or do they play on grass over there?
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Because it seems like there's a lot of hamstring injuries over there in Green Bay.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: I actually don't know.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: I thought it was grass, but uh maybe it is turf.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they've had a handful of injuries, and yeah, Christian Watson, man, he never even came back, you know.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: He never seemed a hundred percent, and he hasn't performed all year.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: I know he was injured, but he hasn't performed all year, and now he's out again.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: So hey, but Aaron Jones seems to be back, so yeah.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I'm pretty high on him the rest of the year, though.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: He should continue to play well, and you know, say Saquon's the only piece of the Giants offense that you want anymore.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Uh, you know, both those teams are hurting and uh very limited as far as your options for fantasy players.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, definitely, definitely.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: Uh, so it's good to have Aaron Jones back.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Um, also Justin Jefferson, you know, speaking of activation, Justin Jefferson's been designated to come back from injury.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: Um, so that should be a big boost.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: I know one of your teams has been waiting for him.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: Uh, Devin Achan is coming back from injury.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: He's gonna actually play.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: He's already been confirmed to come back from and play for Miami.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: I know uh all those Raheem Moser thought he was gonna be the guy, but you know, as soon as HN played, we all realize that he's he's a future.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: So after you know, once HN plays, he's gonna be the guy.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, once he's back, he's the guy.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: I don't think there's any question about that.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: And then uh obviously James Conner, you're getting him back.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: He's gonna definitely um I think I don't know, he's been limited today, so he he's he has two more days to practice Thursday or Friday before they designate him to play.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: And I'm sure he's gonna be on a snap count when he comes out and plays.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: Um, same thing with Kyler Murray.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: He's gonna come out and play.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: I don't think they're gonna run him too hard, but what other option do they have?
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, they they started, was it Jaron Hall or is Jaron Hall for the Vikings?
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: I don't know, like whatever quarterback they were.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: They were like, yeah, there were three rookies in there that I'd never uh heard of, so it was tough for me to keep track of them.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's hard to keep track of who's who's throwing the ball over there.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: So definitely uh Kyle Murray should be back there.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: Um, and am I missing any other activations here for this week?
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Uh no, just um, you know, some interesting changes as a result of injuries.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: You know, Kirk Cousins went down and Josh Dobbs was signed to the Minnesota Vikings and looked great.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: You know, he's had six touchdowns over the last two weeks.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Um he's he's a good football player, he's been around a little while, but I think he's actually a really good fit on the Vikings.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: So if you need a quarterback, I I think he's worth a pickup.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: You know, I mean, we'll see.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: I could be dead wrong, but the last couple weeks he's looked great, and and I think Minnesota is a better team for him to put up big numbers, you know.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Maybe um you know, for them to make a move like that, they're clearly thinking about this season.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: They're not just punting and saying, all right, we fold, we're done.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: You know, Kirk Cousins went down, they grabbed Dobbs, and you know, Justin Jefferson and Addison and Hawkinson, they might be able to, you know, continue producing high numbers if Dobbs continues playing well.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: So that'll be interesting to see.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: But I I do think he's worth an ad if you need a quarterback.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, a way better team in Minnesota and a much better offensive line, too.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: They can actually block there.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: You could tell in Arizona it's just uh an absolute crap show.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: Like they they haven't invested enough in that O-line.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: I mean, even Kurt Cousins had a few games he was running for his life against like really good pass rushes, but they're not facing too many of those vaunted pass rushes unless you're facing like teams like the 49ers or the Eagles or like the Browns, you know, teams that are like loaded up like that, or the Ravens, you know, you're you're pretty, you know, Vikings are gonna have good days.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: And even the Vikings faced the Niners and they were good, but obviously the new look Niners with Chase Young are gonna be a little bit different.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: Um, but overall, I I'd say that you know Josh Dobbs is is definitely a solid pickup for them and you know solid flyer, especially if you're you're looking at right now, you're on those bye weeks, weeks nine, ten, eleven, twelve.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: You're looking at some major bye weeks for some big quarterbacks those weeks.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: I mean, right now the Eagles are on a bye week.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: You know, you have the Rams on a bye week.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: So and there's some good there's some good guys on the waiver wire to pick up.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: You know, you've Goff might be available this week.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: I don't know about Goff as far as um, you know, putting up a we'll talk about that later.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: I don't know if Goff's gonna have the best day.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: I think Detroit as a whole is gonna have a good day, which which will probably mean Goff has a good day, but he you know, he's on the waiver wire in a lot of leagues, and um Sam Howell.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: Sam Howell's on the waiver wire in a lot of leagues, you know.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Sam Howell, definitely.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: He's another one that you could pick up and plug in with confidence.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's definitely a good ad.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: I can see Sam Howe.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: I haven't seen Derek Goff available a lot, but definitely Sam Howell is a good pick up.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: Goff isn't available in a lot, I shouldn't have said a lot, but uh it's it's definitely possible.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: Some people listening, he's available in your league.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: And or you could just throw a low ball trade out there.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: A lot of times people pick him up, keep him on their bench.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: I have him on my bench in a couple leagues, and I'm happy I do because you know he's a really rock solid play in uh certain matchups.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, definitely.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: Other than that, every everything else is pretty much uh bone yard right now for waiver wire.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: Pretty much been the bone has been picked dry.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: You know, if you're at this point in the season, you know, you had your chance to get CJ Stroud about six weeks ago, you know, guys like that.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: You know, you had your Demicardo train about two weeks ago.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: He had things already sailed by for about two to three weeks, you know.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: Six weeks ago, Puka Nakua.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: I'm feeling like right now, you know, it's been a rough stretch for the Rams.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, I got Derrick Henry in that trade, but I'm feeling the ramifications of that trade.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: But overall, you know, it's um you just gotta kind of stay alive, try to get those wins because this is the toughest part of the year to get those wins.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: So if you're fighting for a playoff spot, it's gonna be a little bit of tough sledding right now for you.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: But uh, yeah, one more guy I do want to mention, and you know, you know, I gotta bring him up because he's my boy Taysom Hill.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Let me just read some stats real quick because there's a good there's a good chance he's available.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: He's available in 50% of leagues, and I just want to read over the last four weeks, 19 targets, 16 catches for 126 yards and a touchdown, 26 rushing attempts, 135 yards, and three touchdowns.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: So that's over the last four weeks, you know.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: Um, that's 261 total yards and four touchdowns.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: I mean, they're using him as the RB2 in New Orleans, so he's worth the pickup.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: You know, it they they're not giving the ball to Jamal Williams.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: We thought Jamal Williams was gonna be that same guy he was in Detroit, but they're using Taysom.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you get that rushing production, you get a little pass in production, you might squeeze a passing touchdown in there.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: You brought a quarter, you might squeeze a uh receiving touchdown in there.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: So, I mean, he's the ultimate wild card play for a tight end.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Well, like what do you have to lose?
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: You know, that's yeah, you're getting 10 points a game from that position, anyways.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: Why not get an extra you know touchdown in there?
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean the the top guys are getting you 10 points a game, you know, 10 or 12.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: So you might as well just roll the dice, see what you can get out of taste.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, he might give you five, and that's a loss, but there's plenty of tight ends that are just giving you five or six points, too.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: So it's worth the risk, in my opinion.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: And uh before we get into the first segment, one thing I wanted to add as well.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Thank you to all the viewers out there that are following us here.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: We just hit 50 downloads on Buzz Sprout uh for our podcast here, and we just want to uh thank you guys for following us here at Fantasy Football Sports Minds.

- 12:57SPEAKER_01: We're not trying to copy off anybody.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: As a matter of fact, I just watched a game and I watch games and that's it.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: I don't really listen to much many analysts because I feel like my opinion could get you know skewed when I listen to these guys, and half of that stuff is garbage, you know.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: There's only a few people out there that I really respect, and I respect their opinion, I like their opinion that you know we mentioned them fantasy footballers, guys like that, you know.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: And the thing is, you know, I totally agree that your opinion does get skewed when you listen to other people, but on top of that, there's so many of these experts, these quote unquote experts, that just look at what the other experts are saying and agree with them.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's it's the exact same thing you see all over the world in every industry, you just nod your head and agree, like a good boy.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, we just watch the football games and make our own analysis based on what we see and based on the players' history.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: It's you know, pretty simple stuff when you just break it down to football, and uh that's what we do.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: And yeah, man, we if you don't want to watch the videos on YouTube, you can listen on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, 50 downloads doesn't sound like much, but just getting started and the work we put in feels great to hear that.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: So please spread the word because we've been on point.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: You can't doubt us, we've been on point.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, and then uh hopefully you've you've gotten some advice.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: I mean, and if you guys have any questions, we always say uh put it on there, ask us questions.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: I know we we're not always the fastest again back to you.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: We apologize.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: With there's just obviously a lot of things going on in our personal lives, and yes, we've got full-time jobs and families, so you know if you guys keep sharing and supporting us, we could get paid to do this and we could spend more time on the internet, guys.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: So please support us, like us, share us, tell your mother about us, all right?
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: Tell your granny, we would love the support, all right?
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but uh don't tell your wife because she'll probably bitch at you for this in a more fancy.
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and don't tell our wives because they will probably bitch at us, all right?
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: So don't do that.
- 14:59SPEAKER_02: No, I'm just kidding.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: Joe Joe doesn't have one.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: My baby's mom already knows.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: She she she knows I got a podcast, but she doesn't she doesn't listen to it.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: That's good.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: That's good.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: We because we say bad things about but my son encourages me.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: No, I'm just kidding.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: We don't say bad things.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: We love them.
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: The mother, uh, the women that bear our children are loved here, ladies and gentlemen.
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: We love them.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: Without further ado, Joe, uh, let's get this show on the road.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: It's time for the hot matchup of the week.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Hot matchups plural of the week.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: And uh, we've got some really good games lined up, and um I I think you guys are gonna agree with everything we gotta say.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: Manny, why don't you kick things off for us?
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: What's your first hot matchup of the week?
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: Well, I thought about it long and hard, and I looked at it.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of um lot side of matchups this week.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: I love this week for um for football because there's gonna be some points scored, um, some high-scoring games on like one side of the spectrum, right?
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: So you're looking at um some good ones.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: So the first one I have here, Texas versus the Bengals, is gonna be one of my favorite matchups this week.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: So Bengals uh has a solid defense.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: Texans are actually not that bad as well, they're middle of the road.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: I think Bengals are higher on the on the on the scale though.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: Um, but both teams with great offenses.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: I mean, Bengals have been moving the ball.
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: You saw them move the ball against the Bills recently and other teams.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Joe Barrow's finally rolling, you know, they've been feeding the ball a lot.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: I like Joe Mixon a lot for this uh for this game because Texans are not great against the run defense.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: And of course, uh CJ Stroud really hit you know that that that stride last game against Tampa Bay.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: And Tampa Bay wasn't that bad against the pass, but they really made him look bad.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, like they took that game over, five touchdowns, 475 pass yards for CJ Stroud.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: So uh definitely gonna be a good game.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: I think Bengals have a much better secondary.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: They get Mike Hilton back there.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Um, they have some really good corners as well.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: So I think it's gonna be uh I don't think it's gonna be as uh he's not gonna go off for five touchdowns, so I think you would temper your expectations for CJ Stroud.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: Um, but I do think that there would be like a at least 20 to 30 point scored on each side.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: So you're looking at it probably over the spread.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: I don't I haven't looked at it if it's for in the high 40s, it should be probably in the low 50s overall.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: Um what do you think?
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: I I would assume it's probably in the high 40s, and yeah, I mean Joe Burrow's back, he's looked awesome the last two weeks.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: Uh Stroud had a a little bit of a lull uh you know in like weeks four, five, and six or something, but definitely hit his stride last week.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, he looked good before that too, but he looked incredible.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: You got Tank Dell and Nico Collins um and um Jamar Chase didn't have the best game, but uh obviously he's going to be a monster in most games.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: And Higgins, you know, he's looked awesome.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: Uh you know, he had a slow start, but he's back to 100%.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: He had over 100 receiving yards.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: And uh Mixon, I think, is also gonna have a great game.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, the the Houston run game is pretty much non-existent, so you want to stay away from that.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: But the passing game on both sides of the ball is going to be uh yeah, it should be a shootout.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: And I think uh I I think I've got a lot of stock in that game just trying to go over my lineup, so I'm really looking forward to that one.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: What about you?
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: Uh well, my first hot matchup is the 49ers and the Jaguars.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: They're both very well rested coming off of bye week.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: They've got uh Debo healthy again, and Zay Flowers is probably gonna play.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: I don't know for sure about either one of them, but they're both trending in the right direction.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, other than Trent Williams, the 49ers offensive tackle out with a bad ankle sprain.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: Uh, I think everyone's healthy.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: And like I said, coming off that bye week, two high-powered off offenses, you got the Niners, um, you know, with CMC, Debo, Ayuk, Kittle, Purdy, all ready to go.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: And then on the other side of the ball, you got Etienne, uh, Christian Kirk, Ridley, and um, you know, base basically, I don't see any scenario where this can be a low-scoring game because even though their defenses are okay, um, their offenses are just that much better, you know.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: So I expect it to be a really fun game to watch.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, definitely.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: Um, should be high scoring for sure.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: Um, and uh for the so Zay Jones is coming back, you said for the Jaguars, right?
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I said Zay Flowers.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: I meant to confused for a second.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: I was like, yeah, he's on the Ravens, but um Zay Jones is coming back.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: I know he he has uh he had some big games last year, so he could definitely be on there.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: But you know, Christian Kirk is gonna get his his share for sure.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: Um the the tight end Evan Ingram's gonna be there for sure, of course.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: Travis uh Travis Etienne, you know, he's had like two touchdowns each of the last four games.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: It's it's been a crazy streak that he's been on, you know, uh for sure.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: So they're they're gonna be high scoring.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: And then 49ers, uh, I mean, they you know, CMC is gonna be out there.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm curious to see how Debo looks.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: Because he uh the reason why he got injured the last game, he was trash talking one of the opposing players that two games ago when he got hurt.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: I think it was against the Browns when he got hurt.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: It was like three games ago, and they were like pregame, they they were talking trash to each other, and it was like a sideline scuffle.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: And then in the game, he went and like he lowered his shoulder and he took a big hit against uh the DB, and like he hit him hard and he was acting tough, right?
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: Like to get the first down.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: He it was like a uh like a a yak play, so he caught the ball like in a a down and out, and then he hit the deep the safety and he got the first down, and you know, he was acting all tough, and then he took another pass or something like that, and then all of a sudden he was out of the game, and then it turns out that he had the fractured shoulder after that.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and you knew what it happened from as soon as they said it was his shoulder.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly, because he took that hit.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: So, you know, uh obviously, so he but he was he was playing good at that point, and obviously, like George Kittle was non existent after that, you know, it's just basically Brandon Nayuk, and that's when Purdy had that three game skid where he wasn't doing anything, you know, it was just CMC was the one only person doing anything.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: So I mean it'd be a good game for them to have Debo back, he could open it up, open For IU then, and of course, uh, you know, I don't think that the defense on the other side is gonna do much against the Niners, you know, when they get rolling.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: They both got uh respectable defenses, but they have better offenses, and both of them you've seen holes.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: So when you've got that many weapons, you're gonna exploit those holes.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: And uh I just expect both teams to be doing more on offense than they are on defense.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: Should be a fun game.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: So who's your second hot matchup of the week?
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so my uh second hot matchup, I had to think about it because obviously you're running out of game.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: So I know that last week I did call the obviously I called the Eagles Cowboys as my hot matchup.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: That was the only one that was right for my hot matchup, so that was a good one.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: Obviously, uh did not disappoint for America's game of the week.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: Great matchup.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: Cowboys gave us a run to the end, and I hate the Cowboys, so you know it's hard for me to admit that, but I'm an unbiased person, so I try not to be, anyways.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: So they gave us the the best game we had all year, and I will say that there.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: Um Jets beat us, but that was an ugly game.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: Like we we beat ourselves that game.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: Like I would I'll just go ahead and say that.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: But the Cowboys actually gave us the best game.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: Um, but anyways, hot matchup here I have is uh Commanders versus the Seahawks.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: Reason being that doesn't sound like a big game, but obviously you mentioned some Sam Howe earlier.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: And uh I you know he's actually like uh a top two or three passer right now.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: I think he has 26 passing yards for the year, and um uh that's a lot for a guy that no one expected to even be anywhere close the top tier for passing this year.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: So um obviously that's largely in part to uh you know due to Jahan Dotson and Terry McLaurin, and you know, he's passing it a lot to Logan Thomas, his tight end, you know, Kurt Samuels coming back from injury, you know, he's Brian Robinson, they don't use him enough.
- 24:04SPEAKER_01: I get annoyed because they started using him so heavily first three games, and then the uses has really dropped off recently.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh, but I can see that as a bounce back game because Seahawks are really strong against the pass, but they're more susceptible against the run.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: So I can see them dumping it off a lot, like a lot of screens because they do run the enemy.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: The offensive coordinator does run a lot of you know, like uh plays like that back in Kansas City.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: So that's more of a specialty is feeding the running back.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: Um, so I can see them going back to that.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: And then Seahawks just got destroyed this past week, of course.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: They got destroyed by uh you know um Baltimore, yeah.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: That was a Baltimore.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: Wow so that was a bad game for them.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: So they need to they need to get their stuff together, you know.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: Uh they need to get their offense rolling.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: You know, they're a really good offense, they have a top, you know, 10 passing game, top 10 running game.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: So they really need to get this rolling if they want to get that wild card, because right now that's the Niners division.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: They just they're just you know, the Niners world, they're just living in it, so they have to prove that they belong.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this is a big game for them.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: DK Meth's got to step it up.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: Lockett, you know, he's been more consistent than DK, but both of them are great.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: And uh I you know, I think even though the the last couple games for uh Kenneth Walker haven't been great, I still think he's gonna get the goal line work and should be a solid start this week.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: Um, they do have a lot to prove.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: And um Geno Smith, you know, he wants to remind everyone last year wasn't a fluke.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: So I think he's gonna come out slinging the ball.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: And uh I think they're I think they're at the point where if they don't win this game, it's gonna kind of set the trajectory for the rest of the season.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: And if they do, you know, it'll set the the trajectory in the right direction.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: So this is a must-win for them, in my opinion.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: And my second hot matchup of the week is I think gonna be the most exciting game of the week, and that's the Lions versus the Chargers.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: Again, the Lions had a bye last week, so they're all nice and rested.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: The Lions and the Chargers defense is not very respectable.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: The Lions maybe the Chargers no.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: And every single person on both teams is healthy.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: There is not one starter on the injury report.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna have both teams firing on all cylinders.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: And think about this the Lions, as great as they've looked, they got Montgomery back too.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: So I'm not exactly sure what's gonna happen between Jameer Gibbs and Dave Montgomery, but they're both monsters, they're both in action.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: And then Keenan Alley made hit or Keenan Allen made history last week with uh passing over 10,000 receiving yards, and Eckler had two touchdowns.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: Um, Herbert, I believe, is okay.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: Uh, again, there was no one on the injury report, so um, I assume he's ready to go.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, Jared Goff, he's gonna be ready to go.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: You got Amon Ross St.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: Brown, you got Laporta.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's just too many options, even with Josh Palmer out.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, Herbert's gonna be just fine with Keenan Allen and Austin Eckler.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: So I'm not worried about the offense at all.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: I think there's gonna be probably close to 50 or 55 points total.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: And um I can't say who's gonna win this game.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: I assume I assume that the Lions are favored.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: Um, but that's a tough call.
- 27:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I definitely agree.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: That's gonna be an amazing game.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: I'm a big fan of um, you know, offense, obviously.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: You know, Chargers, you're eight, have been a top offense.
- 28:04SPEAKER_01: You know, that's all they really have, but their defense has stepped up.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: I I saw that recently.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: Um, but I don't think the the lightning strikes the same place twice.
- 28:13SPEAKER_01: The Lions were only shut down by the Ravens this year.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: There's no way you slow them down, and the Chargers have to score to keep up with the Lions.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: So, you know, um they have to find a way to replicate the success or uh keep the offense going.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: They lost another receiver in Joshua Palmer, so they're gonna have to air it out more.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: So um, you know, uh Keenan Allen connection, you know, Eckler finally got his points, so you know, feed the ball to him.
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: We'll see who else gets it on that side.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: And and the injury was to his uh to Herbert's non-throwing hand as well.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: So he had that his non-throwing hand bandaged up.
- 28:48SPEAKER_01: So he's it's not gonna affect his other hand, but he he really did take a beaten by the Jets.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: Um, on the other side, obviously, I've been bullish on the Lions all offseason.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: So, you know, they have a lot of weapons, like you were saying, you you express it perfectly.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: Um, they're gonna just score points and they're gonna play solid defense and they're gonna play inspired football.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: And I definitely think they're gonna come out on top because they're the better overall football team on all levels, not just offense, defense, you know, special teams as well as coaching.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: You know, I just think they're the superior team.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: Uh Chargers just, you know, been beating ugly teams.
- 29:25SPEAKER_01: They've got a lot, a few cupcake games.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: They beat the Jets this week, and then the week before that they played uh the Raiders, you know.
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: So they've got, and that they were two and four before that, you know, or like, or three and four or something like that.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: So they've gotten some nice uh layup games to get their confidence back on track.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they have looked great in uh in recent weeks, and uh I assume, yeah, just just strictly going by the record, you know, Lions are six and two, chargers are four and four.
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: Uh you're probably right.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: The the Lions probably are favorite in that game, and that makes sense.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: But with all that offense and all that back and forth, I expect a very high score, and it's gonna be a really, really fun game to watch.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: I definitely think it's gonna be the best game on the week as far as just being entertaining.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: So, and I've got a ton of stock in uh the Lions, dude.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: People are gonna think we're Lions fans.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: We're not.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: We just like them for fantasy football.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: For the record, people, I am an Eagles fan, a diehard Eagles fan.
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: I'm a Steelers fan.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: So seven years old.
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: You can check my credentials.
- 30:34SPEAKER_01: I it says it says Philly's finest on my forearms.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: I've got I've got the Steelers cross on, you know.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's a Steelers cross.
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: Well, it's it's a it's a Steelers uh star at the at the end of each cross on my arm.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: So oh, I didn't even know that.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: That's funny, but yeah, but yeah, I was I was taking that preach.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: I was like, people are gonna think that I'm a freaking Lions fan.
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: I'm so bullish on this year.
- 31:00SPEAKER_02: I was like, nah, man, I just get prosperous.
- 31:02SPEAKER_02: I am too.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: I just lions are a good freaking football team, man.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: They're this year's Cinderella team.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: They're just so they just really mean a good, good, good ass team, man.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they've come so far in the last few years.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: It's it's fun to cheer for them, and they do have some awesome players.
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: And uh I you know what?
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: I even like the colors.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: So, you know, maybe if the if the Steelers Steelers are are doing much better than anyone expected.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: So uh they're not the prettiest games, but they're they're doing a lot a lot better than anyone expected.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: So I'm obviously a Steelers fan through and through, but if hey, if they get knocked out of the playoffs and the and the Lions are still in it, I'm a Lions fan.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: Forget it.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I just I like I just like cheering for the underdogs.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: That's just me.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: Because I'm from the city of underdogs, you know.
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: I can't cheer for any mainstream team.
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: Like, I can never cheer for that, you know.
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: My father-in-law is uh Niners fan, and my one of my best friends, you know, Pinya, thank you for watching the show, by the way.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: You know, he's the one with uh that that's fine the the the brain tumor.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: He is a hardcore Niners fan, and I love him.
- 32:08SPEAKER_01: And he went to the game last year and everything, and you know, I'll cheer for them for him.
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: That is literally the only reason.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, you know, I would be anti-big stream, you know, mainstream teams, but because of what McCaffrey did for him, that's why I told you.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: I was like, I'm drafting McCaffrey.
- 32:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I was just gonna say and McCaffrey.
- 32:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I was like, and I was like, and that was my whole thing.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: And because I drafted my team like that, I am currently eight and one in those leagues.
- 32:34SPEAKER_01: So, you know, it uh it everything happens for a reason.
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: So, but anyways, um definitely gonna be a good game there.
- 32:41SPEAKER_01: I'm excited for it to watch.
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be my favorite game to watch as well.
- 32:50SPEAKER_02: You feel that?
- 32:51SPEAKER_02: That's today's cold call of the week.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: Joe, who's your cold call?
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: My cold call.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: I may be wrong about this, but I think the Browns versus the Ravens is just going to be a mean, nasty defensive battle.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: I think it's gonna be one of the meanest matchups we see all season.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: It did happen once already, and Baltimore beat the balls off of the Browns, but they've improved a little bit.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: And the Browns defense statistically is the best in the league.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: Um Ravens have the most sacks, they've got 35 total sacks, but uh collectively, I think the Browns are just going to keep them in check at at least a lot more than they did the first game.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: Um you know, Deshaun Watson, he's still nursing a shoulder injury, so that's not gonna be good for him when he's getting blitzed by the Ravens.
- 33:47SPEAKER_00: And then, you know, the the pass defense and the run defense from the Browns is going to it should give the Ravens a lot more problems than it did in week four.
- 33:57SPEAKER_00: So I think this is going to be just two teams out for blood.
- 34:03SPEAKER_00: It's a divisional matchup.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: Um, it's gonna be some of the meanest football we've seen so far this year.
- 34:11SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, let me see.
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: There, the first game, the Ravens beat them 28-3.
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: That is not gonna happen again.
- 34:21SPEAKER_00: It it's going to probably be low scoring like that, right around probably 30-35 points.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: But it's not gonna it, I I really doubt is going to be that one-sided.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: I do think the Ravens will probably win by more than a touchdown, but I don't think it's gonna be that one-sided.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: And the only player I would plug in with confidence is Lamar Jackson.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: I'd kind of stay away from everyone else just because the defenses are gonna be uh really, really hitting hard and going after each other.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I um I actually think, you know, before you told me the score of the game, I was actually playing out that exact scenario in my head, thinking that it was gonna be that kind of lopsided game that the it was gonna be defense, but the Ravens are just gonna beat the brakes off them.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: You know, look, they wouldn't be able to contain Lamar because uh even when they did play, like Cleveland was has been playing great defense all year, and that's the one team they just couldn't stop, was the Ravens, right?
- 35:20SPEAKER_01: Because Lamar is so hard to contain, and that's before like Lamar's gotten on the same page with Odell Beckham, like and Zay Flowers, you know, like Zay Flowers had some flashes early in the season, but now they're just on the same page, you know, same thing with Mark Andrews.
- 35:36SPEAKER_01: So I I think that it'll still be a you know a defensive game.
- 35:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like they'll hold the Browns in check, even with the Deshaun Jackson, whatever there, but um the Browns, you've been able to move the ball on them through the air.
- 35:51SPEAKER_01: So I think that they're gonna do a lot of quarterback draws and keep them on, you know, keep them honest, and then they're gonna just cook them, you know, not on the ground.
- 36:00SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I could see that happening again.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: And yeah, I mean, Mark Andrews is another one.
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: Uh, I would play with confidence.
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: And there's a chance, you know, that Gus Edwards, you I mean, you just never know with the Ravens backfield who to trust and and when to trust them.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: But Gus Edwards has been pretty consistent.
- 36:19SPEAKER_00: Uh, but I don't like this matchup for him.
- 36:21SPEAKER_01: Oh no, I don't like it either.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: I I would stay away from him if you do have other options, but you there's a good chance you don't have better options.
- 36:28SPEAKER_00: Uh, but yeah, the only two I'd play with confidence would probably be Lamar.
- 36:33SPEAKER_00: I I don't think Zay Flowers uh is someone I'd be confidently starting, but yeah, maybe he'll probably get you 10 or 15.
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: But I think Lamar and Mark Andrews are are are definitely gonna have good games, and I don't think anybody on the Browns is worth starting.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: Um I think the Ravens, I could be wrong, but I think they had three interceptions the first game, which is you know, they intercepted the ball, turned it right over to Lamar, and you know, let him go to work.
- 37:00SPEAKER_01: So yeah, just ball control.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they they had control the entire time, and I expect this to be a slow game, and having you know, the Ravens having control for the duration of the game.
- 37:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: And uh, who's your cold call this week, Manny?
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: Well, that's easy.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be uh Falcons versus the Cardinals.
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: So reason why I picked that one.
- 37:26SPEAKER_01: I know uh Kyler Murray's expected to come back this week.
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: Obviously, you know, if he's not gonna be at 100%, you know, they're they're you know, so he's gonna be playing uh he's gonna be playing different.
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: He's gonna be playing a little bit scared.
- 37:39SPEAKER_01: James Connor may be back, he's not gonna be at 100%.
- 37:42SPEAKER_01: Um Falcons are starting Heineke, but you know, he's gonna be walking on XL.
- 37:47SPEAKER_01: So Heineke, they haven't really let him, you know, play his game, right?
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: When they let Heineke play his game in Washington, he was a little bit dangerous, right?
- 37:56SPEAKER_01: When he was playing out he confidently right now, he's not playing confident, he's playing like reserved because he's afraid to make a mistake, he's afraid of getting bench, you know, whatever that dynamic is over there in Atlanta.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: It's you know, the dynamic is when you have a coach that's you know on the hot seat, you know, it's like walking on eggshells when you're a quarterback on the hot seat because a coach makes you feel like you're expendable, right?
- 38:21SPEAKER_01: So you make a mistake because you had somebody like Desmond Ritter who was putting up three or four turnovers on like two or three games in a row, you know, like like he kept a job for two to three games like that.
- 38:34SPEAKER_01: But Taylor Heineke put up one or two turnovers in the last game, and you know, he had to get confirmation that he was a starter the next game, too, right?
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: So instead of giving him that confirmation right after after the game, it was something that was, you know, for some reason left up in the air.
- 38:50SPEAKER_01: So I think that is gonna have him play reserved against a solid Cardinals team.
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: Like they their defense shows up sometimes, sometimes they don't.
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: They're a really weird team like that.
- 39:01SPEAKER_01: Maybe they play inspired with Calamur, who knows?
- 39:04SPEAKER_01: But it's just gonna be an ugly game.
- 39:06SPEAKER_01: It's in Arizona.
- 39:07SPEAKER_01: Uh, Falcons are gonna be, you know, they like using B.
- 39:11SPEAKER_01: John Robinson as a diversion more than as a runner.
- 39:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't know.
- 39:15SPEAKER_01: I I think you you saw that that hot take, right?
- 39:18SPEAKER_01: That Arthur Smith, he's he's gone after this year, by the way.
- 39:22SPEAKER_01: He's not gonna be a coach in Atlanta very long.
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: I know the owner's can't make sense of what they're doing.
- 39:27SPEAKER_02: Like the owner saw that, and he's like, what the hell is this guy talking about?
- 39:32SPEAKER_02: You drafted Bijan to be a diversion.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like Derrick Henry's just there to, you know, like just uh run routes, you know.
- 39:41SPEAKER_01: Get the hell out of here, man.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: Like, give Bijan the ball and let him run the ball 20 times a game.
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: It's like when uh a few weeks ago they um they were talking about Jahan Dotson um taking taking snaps for like uh a placeholder, or I don't know what you call them, a placeholder for the kicks, people the guys that kick field goals.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: He was doing that in practice, and um I don't know if he was just goofing around or something, but that's not what they drafted Jahan Dotson for, you know.
- 40:13SPEAKER_00: He must have just been goofing around.
- 40:15SPEAKER_00: I I don't know, he must have just been like, hey, let me try this or something.
- 40:20SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 40:20SPEAKER_00: But apparently he was holding kicks in he was holding for the kicker uh in practice.
- 40:27SPEAKER_00: So that was a few weeks ago.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: He looked awesome the last two weeks, so I'm not worried about it anymore.
- 40:31SPEAKER_00: But it's concerning to hear.
- 40:33SPEAKER_01: Not to get off topic, but you know who should be holding kicks um is Taysom Hill.
- 40:39SPEAKER_01: He can run some fakes off that man.
- 40:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, dude.
- 40:42SPEAKER_00: Have him do everything.
- 40:44SPEAKER_00: He can play any position if it's football.
- 40:47SPEAKER_00: There's nothing that dude can't do.
- 40:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that that gets some nice fakes, and you don't know if he's gonna take the if he's gonna take the snap or he's gonna run it around.
- 40:56SPEAKER_02: Just let him kick.
- 40:57SPEAKER_00: I bet he's a good kicker, too.
- 40:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, shoot.
- 41:00SPEAKER_01: I mean the kicker for uh the running back for uh Texans kicking field goals 30 yard extra points.
- 41:07SPEAKER_01: So shit.
- 41:08SPEAKER_00: That'd be great if Taysom just started marching out kicking field goals, too.
- 41:12SPEAKER_00: That would be hilarious.
- 41:13SPEAKER_00: That'd just be fitting.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but uh, but yeah, what you think about the Falcons Cardinals matchup?
- 41:20SPEAKER_00: Oh man, I agree with you 100%.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, they're just two bad teams that um all over the place offensively, and um, yeah, the Cardinals D does show up once in a while, but there's just too much uh too many question marks around their offense for the Falcons and for the Cardinals.
- 41:43SPEAKER_00: I do not think um I don't think James Connor's gonna be 100%.
- 41:49SPEAKER_00: He'll probably get 10 or 12 carries, and then Kyler Murray, if he does play, will probably be, you know, just being very cautious.
- 41:57SPEAKER_00: And um, yeah, it's just it's hard to say, you know, what's how that game is gonna play out, but it's just gonna be sloppy.
- 42:06SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be probably um ugly to watch, a lot of punts and um boring as hell and a low scoring.
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I totally agree with you on that one.
- 42:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'd rather do something on my honeydo list than watch that garbage.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'll do some dishes and maybe some laundry.
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: Like, what, honey?
- 42:27SPEAKER_02: Did you have something you wanted me to do for you?
- 42:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, now would be a good time.
- 42:34SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: Well, you know what, Manny?
- 42:44SPEAKER_00: A good way to warm up from a freezing cold call is a nice steaming pile of shit.
- 42:51SPEAKER_00: And right now I have one in my pants from my call last week on Trey McBride being the best waiver pickup.
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: And it was it was tough, you know.
- 43:05SPEAKER_00: He saw so much volume the week before that I thought even against a difficult matchup, um they were completely shut out.
- 43:14SPEAKER_00: The Cardinals were beat.
- 43:16SPEAKER_00: I think the final score was 27 to nothing.
- 43:20SPEAKER_00: I can't remember, but Trey McBride had five targets, three receptions, and five fantasy points.
- 43:26SPEAKER_00: It was a horrible, horrible showing.
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: Again, it was a tough matchup, and I think better days are ahead.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: Um, but I expected him to get double digit fantasy points.
- 43:36SPEAKER_00: I said he was the best pickup of the week, and you know I'm obsessed with tight ends.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: So I, you know, put some time into uh you know making that call.
- 43:44SPEAKER_00: I thought, you know, Taysom or Trey McBride's gonna be the best tight end pickup, and Taysom Hill certainly was, but Trey McBride, he was not.
- 43:55SPEAKER_01: It takes a big man to admit you like tight ends, so I do.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: And to admit that I have shit in my pants right now.
- 44:03SPEAKER_00: Takes a real big man to be 40 years old shit in your pants.
- 44:07SPEAKER_00: I hear that.
- 44:09SPEAKER_00: What about you?
- 44:10SPEAKER_00: What's your uh shit call of the week?
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: Well, my shit call, I did I did say that um the Seahawks versus the Ravens was gonna be a high scoring game.
- 44:20SPEAKER_01: And it was for the Ravens, but obviously the Seahawks really made me eat uh uh shit pie their uh mud pie because uh they scored three measly points to kick the field goal all game.
- 44:32SPEAKER_01: I mean, like Gino and the company did not show up, they couldn't get anything going, they just kept turning the ball over.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: I mean, they could not keep Gino upright, they were just like under pressure all game.
- 44:42SPEAKER_01: I know the Ravens were I know I mentioned they were the number one sack team in the league, and you know, and and they just couldn't do anything with it.
- 44:49SPEAKER_01: They couldn't get uh ball moving, they couldn't get the first downs when they needed to, and the Ravens just completely embarrassed him the same way the Ravens embarrassed the Lions.
- 44:59SPEAKER_01: So that's the second like formidable team.
- 45:02SPEAKER_01: And I know uh Seahawks weren't really a top-tier team to begin with, they were like more of the middle-of-the-pack wildcard team, and they were exposed for that because Ravens is definitely a top-tier team, yeah.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: But uh, I did expect more of a fight from them, at least, you know, put up a couple TDs, but um, you know, a few TDs, but they didn't def they definitely didn't do that.
- 45:22SPEAKER_01: So that's my uh mud pie to eat there.
- 45:26SPEAKER_00: And I bet that tastes good, but the thing is, I expected uh you know, at least 14 points or something from the Seahawks.
- 45:34SPEAKER_00: I did think the Ravens are gonna win, but I thought they'd get, you know, I thought they'd get Kenneth Walker in there possibly, or you know, yeah DK or Lockett.
- 45:43SPEAKER_00: You know, I I just expected someone to um you know and Gino's he's had a couple slow weeks, but I expected him to play a lot better.
- 45:53SPEAKER_00: That's why I think they're gonna bounce back this week, though, because of that shit show last week.
- 45:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, I agree.
- 46:13SPEAKER_01: All right, Chicos, bring out your balls.
- 46:16SPEAKER_01: It's time for the big balls call of the week.
- 46:19SPEAKER_01: And this week, my big balls call, you know, I've been riding a big wave, man.
- 46:26SPEAKER_01: I've been really hot lately, you know.
- 46:28SPEAKER_01: I've been and I'm gonna just keep riding that wave till it's gone.
- 46:32SPEAKER_01: So last week, you know, I made a I made a prediction where I was saying that, hey, this backfield, you know, before all these experts were saying it, you guys go back and check the tape.
- 46:42SPEAKER_01: I was saying that this backfield is gonna be really great.
- 46:45SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be sustainable.
- 46:46SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be uh uh the number one rush defense in the NFL.
- 46:50SPEAKER_01: Detroit's gonna keep running the ball.
- 46:52SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be sustainable for both running backs, right?
- 46:56SPEAKER_01: So my big balls call is my David Montgomery is gonna have 100 rushing yards and a touchdown this weekend.
- 47:02SPEAKER_01: Jameer Gibbs is gonna have a hundred rushing yards and a touchdown this weekend.
- 47:06SPEAKER_01: So double big balls, right?
- 47:08SPEAKER_01: So you want some balls because they got Frank Rag now, the centers coming back this game.
- 47:13SPEAKER_01: They got the left guard coming back this game.
- 47:16SPEAKER_01: Uh, they just came off a bye week, so Detroit's O-line is finally healthy for the first time in all season, you know.
- 47:25SPEAKER_01: So they're about to bring everybody back freshly rested, and you know, they're playing the Chargers who are not like they're solid.
- 47:33SPEAKER_01: Like, don't get me wrong, they have a good pass rush, but how do you stop a good pass rush?
- 47:38SPEAKER_01: You run their ball down their throats and you double team their best pass rushers.
- 47:42SPEAKER_01: So Detroit's gonna run a lot of two tight end sets, a lot of big formations, and they're actually one of the few teams that has a fullback, so you know they're gonna be running some big formations there.
- 47:53SPEAKER_01: So that's why I think you remember that game where they gave Montgomery 32 touches?
- 47:58SPEAKER_01: They already broke them twice this year.
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: Montgomery's missed what three or four games.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: Why risk breaking them when Jameer Gibbs finally looks like the guy, right?
- 48:09SPEAKER_01: Just give Jameer Gibbs 15 carries, give Montgomery his 20, and then get the same production from two guys.
- 48:17SPEAKER_00: I think it's gonna be more like that kind of a split moving forward, maybe 60-40.
- 48:23SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, they might even give Montgomery 25 and give Jameer Gibbs 15, but I do think it's gonna be a little more even than it was, and they've both proven they can do the job very well, and uh even with Goff passing, they're obviously gonna be mixing it up quite a bit on offense.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: So, man, that is a very bold prediction.
- 48:45SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, you're talking about fucking huge balls, yeah.
- 48:50SPEAKER_00: I would love to see it happen because I've got a lot of a lot of stock in both of those guys.
- 48:54SPEAKER_00: Bro, Detroit Lions fans, folks, fantasy football-wise.
- 48:59SPEAKER_01: Bro, and I'm thinking 2020, so like Jameer gives 15 carries and like five catches, or like, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 49:06SPEAKER_01: You know, so I'm thinking 20 touches each, you know, touches per game.
- 49:12SPEAKER_00: Total touches.
- 49:13SPEAKER_01: Hell yeah.
- 49:13SPEAKER_01: So I'm riding by that.
- 49:15SPEAKER_01: I feel good about that too.
- 49:17SPEAKER_00: Well, I want to um make the call that Zach Moss scores a touchdown against the Patriots this week.
- 49:28SPEAKER_00: I feel like even though he got a lot of credit um for everything he's done this year, I feel like he's just being kind of pushed to the side because of last week.
- 49:40SPEAKER_00: And up until last week, it was pretty much 50-50 since Taylor came back.
- 49:46SPEAKER_00: So I don't feel like that week tells you everything.
- 49:50SPEAKER_00: You know, it might be telling you what's expected for the rest of the season, but it was just one game.
- 49:57SPEAKER_00: I don't think we can say definitively that yeah, Jonathan Taylor's the guy now, and Moss is just gonna be like kind of a change of pace back.
- 50:05SPEAKER_00: I still think he's gonna get uh double-digit carries, even though he only got seven last week and Taylor got 18.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: They were pretty much dead even before that.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: And um, they both scored touchdowns in the last three weeks, and uh neither of them scored a touchdown last week.
- 50:19SPEAKER_00: So maybe the inefficiency from Jonathan Taylor, because Zach Moss was the more efficient back, maybe they give him a little bit more volume and they bring it back to like a 50-50 split.
- 50:31SPEAKER_00: And if that happens, there's a real good chance that Zach Moss finds the end zone.
- 50:36SPEAKER_00: So while everyone's forgetting about Zach Moss, I'm going to predict that he scores a touchdown this week against the Patriots.
- 50:43SPEAKER_00: It's not even that bold of a call, not nearly as close to his ballsy as yours, but I just think that guy needs to they need to continue giving him what he's earned at this point.
- 50:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I definitely, yeah, I definitely agree because I mean, why else would you keep a guy that's on his last year of his contract?
- 51:04SPEAKER_01: You're kind of I don't know what the cults are doing.
- 51:06SPEAKER_01: Are you making a playoff run?
- 51:08SPEAKER_01: Are you trying to like, you know, are you trying to like you're trying to make a run?
- 51:13SPEAKER_01: Okay, so are you trying to protect your investment as well?
- 51:17SPEAKER_01: Because Zach Moss has been the consistent, efficient runner all year.
- 51:22SPEAKER_01: Why would you reduce his carries?
- 51:24SPEAKER_01: If this guy in minimal carries has been more efficient, Jonathan Taylor has one brush that he hit a 60 yarder on last week, and now he's the more efficient guy.
- 51:36SPEAKER_01: That's not how it works.
- 51:37SPEAKER_01: No, that's not like Zach Moss consistently has jumped in and basically been the guy, and you know, you got to give him that respect because at the end of the day, uh, you're gonna be the guy that's gonna, you know, you're gonna be giving him the touches, right?
- 51:54SPEAKER_01: So it so I think it's gonna go back to that.
- 51:56SPEAKER_01: So I can see that happening for sure.
- 51:58SPEAKER_00: And when you said protect your investment, I'm thinking that too, because they just signed the$42 million deal for three years.
- 52:05SPEAKER_00: They want Jonathan Taylor active for those three years.
- 52:08SPEAKER_00: Moss is on the last year of his contract, so why not you know run him into the ground?
- 52:13SPEAKER_00: I know, I mean, it sounds bad to say, but you know, get the most you can out of him before he goes somewhere else.
- 52:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, agreed.
- 52:23unknown: Agreed.
- 52:26SPEAKER_01: Well, ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much.
