- 0:30Speaker 2: What's the harmony for that?
- 0:32Speaker 4: I don't know, not right now.
- 0:33Speaker 2: That's your thing. You're really good.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I'm a little Friday, I'm a little.
- 0:39Speaker 2: You're frying.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Okay, okay, my fucking it's not frazzle, thank you. That's
- 0:47Speaker 1: the word I was looking.
- 0:48Speaker 2: But one of your gifts is being able to quickly
- 0:50Speaker 2: figure out the harmony. And I wanted to show off
- 0:52Speaker 2: to the audience that you're good at that, but maybe
- 0:54Speaker 2: you're not feeling it today.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Sound. This is my level you sing that part sound,
- 1:04Speaker 1: This is my live I can't do it right now.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I'm fine, you know what.
- 1:08Speaker 4: It's sucked up in the brain right now. It just
- 1:10Speaker 4: can't happen.
- 1:10Speaker 2: It's too high. This is my level something like that sound.
- 1:16Speaker 2: This is my level something like that sound.
- 1:19Speaker 1: This is my legvel sounds six seven eight sound this sound.
- 1:31Speaker 1: This is my last song sound six seven eight sound.
- 1:39Speaker 1: This is my leveable.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Close.
- 1:45Speaker 1: The last note is kind of the same.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Now we'll have to line those up because we have
- 1:48Speaker 2: a bit of a delay so Donald Daniel will line
- 1:51Speaker 2: it up so we sound better sound.
- 1:53Speaker 3: This is my left.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Sound.
- 1:57Speaker 1: This is my left.
- 2:01Speaker 2: When we sing in T mobile commercials, we go into
- 2:04Speaker 2: the booth and uh and when.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I come up with them harmonies, I came up with
- 2:10Speaker 1: that last one. They won't raise your rate set team
- 2:13Speaker 1: Mo Mo.
- 2:18Speaker 2: What happens is I go in and I just lay
- 2:20Speaker 2: down the melody and the best I can. And then
- 2:23Speaker 2: Donald goes in and he lays down not only his melody,
- 2:25Speaker 2: but then like four harmony parts. And I'm like, do
- 2:28Speaker 2: you guys want me to go in and lay down
- 2:30Speaker 2: some harmony parts? And they're like, no, we're good, thank you.
- 2:33Speaker 5: Rude, I'm proudly damn it.
- 2:36Speaker 2: No, he's got such a good voice. And then he
- 2:38Speaker 2: and then the guys are like figuring out the harmonies
- 2:41Speaker 2: with Donald, and then he sings all of the harmonies
- 2:43Speaker 2: like as though we have a choir. But it's just
- 2:45Speaker 2: Donald's got a great voice. You both have great voices.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I'm the Ralph. I'm the Ralph Tresvan of the band.
- 2:52Speaker 2: I don't know what that reference is, of course you don't.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Is it boys to men close? What is it?
- 3:01Speaker 1: New addition?
- 3:02Speaker 6: Bro?
- 3:02Speaker 2: Oh calm down, Geez, Louise, you didn't know.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Man. If you knew it wouldn't I wouldn't be so
- 3:08Speaker 1: fucking frazzled.
- 3:10Speaker 2: You guys. I saw billboard for a new spider Man
- 3:12Speaker 2: movie with Dakota Johnson. I want to know what the
- 3:16Speaker 2: spider verse. I want to know what the what the
- 3:19Speaker 2: superhero fans in the in the post? You think about this?
- 3:22Speaker 2: Are you excited? Your thoughts?
- 3:24Speaker 5: Oh? Wow, Dakota Johnson's pretty. She's so beautiful.
- 3:28Speaker 2: She's beautiful. Huh. I really do think she's so beautiful
- 3:31Speaker 2: and she's so real. I do think she's a movie star.
- 3:34Speaker 2: She's very charming.
- 3:36Speaker 5: Oh yeah, she's dating my boyfriend Ellen.
- 3:39Speaker 2: She's dating my boyfriend Chris Martin. But that's not the question.
- 3:43Speaker 2: The question is what you two superhero love?
- 3:47Speaker 4: You said, what about what she took?
- 3:48Speaker 3: That?
- 3:48Speaker 1: She did? What I said? She's dating my not Joelle?
- 3:52Speaker 1: What did you say?
- 3:54Speaker 5: I said that she's very pretty?
- 3:56Speaker 4: And what do you say after that?
- 3:57Speaker 2: She doesn't want to repeat it? Something about Ellen?
- 3:59Speaker 4: All right?
- 4:00Speaker 2: Talk about took down Ellen degenerate?
- 4:02Speaker 5: Yeah, everybody knows, they saw it.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I don't really know what that story is, but I'm
- 4:07Speaker 2: not interested. Tell me about your thoughts on this new movie.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Are you excited, Donald A. You're bringing the kids in
- 4:11Speaker 2: the in your in your communities of superhero fans. Is
- 4:14Speaker 2: everyone geeked? What's happening?
- 4:18Speaker 1: You know a lot of silence here at I'm gonna
- 4:21Speaker 1: be honest with you, and.
- 4:22Speaker 2: We only want the fans only want honesty.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I will only give you honesty. I don't know much
- 4:27Speaker 1: about Madam Webb. I am excited to see all of
- 4:30Speaker 1: these uh interesting outfits because they're definitely opening up the
- 4:35Speaker 1: Spider Verse more with these characters.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Look at your will's face, Well, why are you why
- 4:44Speaker 2: are you censoring yourself? Okay, we don't want to upset Sony. Sony.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Sony wants you to be honest.
- 4:50Speaker 5: Okay, it's they don't. But it's frustrating.
- 4:54Speaker 6: It's very frustrating to be a woman who likes the
- 4:56Speaker 6: superheroes and then female at superheroes movies come out and
- 4:59Speaker 6: you're like, what it's happening and why here's my biggest issue. Uh,
- 5:03Speaker 6: Madam Webb in the comics is a old, cranky bitch
- 5:06Speaker 6: and she's awesome. Uh, And they were like, what if
- 5:10Speaker 6: we made her young and sexy? I'm not interested, not
- 5:12Speaker 6: interested in a young, sexy Madam Web. She's supposed to
- 5:14Speaker 6: be old, supposed to see everything. She's like literally lives
- 5:17Speaker 6: in another dimension like this.
- 5:18Speaker 1: She's kind of what Loki is at the end of Loki.
- 5:21Speaker 1: She's kind of that, you know what I mean.
- 5:23Speaker 6: And I think if Helen Miren is down to do
- 5:25Speaker 6: fast and furious movies, there's no reason you could have
- 5:27Speaker 6: called Helen Miron and been like, Hey, what this really
- 5:29Speaker 6: weird one off character and she would have been about it,
- 5:31Speaker 6: and I really feel like audiences still would have been
- 5:33Speaker 6: about it. The Sony universe is confusing to me. I
- 5:36Speaker 6: don't understand it. I want to love it. I'm just
- 5:39Speaker 6: not I'm not here for it.
- 5:40Speaker 5: I just don't.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Wow, you can understand. I guess the studio executive going, yeah,
- 5:45Speaker 2: but what if she's hot and sexy, like to cut it.
- 5:50Speaker 5: I that's her answer to everything, And.
- 5:53Speaker 4: I think that's where some of it's failing, you know
- 5:55Speaker 4: what I mean.
- 5:56Speaker 1: As far as I can't say this about Disney yet,
- 6:00Speaker 1: but as far as Sony goes, when it comes to
- 6:02Speaker 1: Spider Man, they've missed every time, even Venom. I like Venom,
- 6:06Speaker 1: you know, I like, you know, kind of, but when
- 6:09Speaker 1: it comes to the Spider Man movies, it's not up
- 6:11Speaker 1: there with all of the rest of them, you know
- 6:13Speaker 1: what I mean, it's it's actually toward the But this
- 6:16Speaker 1: is just my opinion.
- 6:17Speaker 2: No, just the animated versions. I'm clear you like Phil
- 6:21Speaker 2: and Chris's work.
- 6:22Speaker 4: That Shit's fired.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I think that's the top of the list right there
- 6:25Speaker 1: when it comes to Spider Man. But it's really interesting,
- 6:29Speaker 1: like if you're gonna and also if you're gonna, if
- 6:31Speaker 1: you're gonna make the fill and Chris Spider Man, why
- 6:34Speaker 1: not stick to that and you know, connect everything, you know,
- 6:40Speaker 1: just like the Disney Verse has kind of done it,
- 6:43Speaker 1: The Disney Marvel verse kind of has done it. Like
- 6:45Speaker 1: all of these things don't make sense, and you know,
- 6:50Speaker 1: there's kind of a tag here and kind of a
- 6:52Speaker 1: tag there, and then they pull it out and it's
- 6:55Speaker 1: just been It's a mess, is what it is. As
- 6:58Speaker 1: they say, as you're as Mandy Patampkin said in Wish
- 7:03Speaker 1: I was Here, it's a mess Aiden right, Wow.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I'm sure he probably said something like that. I'm impressed
- 7:10Speaker 2: that you remembered a quote from which I was here.
- 7:12Speaker 2: And also you remember my character named Aidan. Thank you Donald,
- 7:16Speaker 2: Can you explain to me Joelle, our resident pop culture expert,
- 7:20Speaker 2: why does Sony have the rights to Spider Man and
- 7:23Speaker 2: not why is it not with Marvel?
- 7:25Speaker 1: Sure?
- 7:25Speaker 6: Okay, So before Marvel became a studio, they licensed a
- 7:28Speaker 6: lot of their properties, particularly in the nineties, the comic
- 7:30Speaker 6: book industry had a boom and then a bust. So
- 7:33Speaker 6: when they went bus, a lot of the comic book
- 7:35Speaker 6: companies were like, we'll sell off our IP so people
- 7:37Speaker 6: can make movies out of it.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Before could they have Blade? Originally too?
- 7:42Speaker 5: They did?
- 7:42Speaker 1: Was that a New Line?
- 7:44Speaker 6: I thought it was Sony, but it might have been
- 7:46Speaker 6: New Line. I cannot remember which production.
- 7:49Speaker 1: That's that's the point. Everybody was fucking grabbing what they could.
- 7:53Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 7:54Speaker 6: So basically that's why Marvel started with Iron Man. At
- 7:57Speaker 6: Superhero almost nobody knew about it's when they still had
- 7:59Speaker 6: the IP. And then a few years later there's a
- 8:03Speaker 6: great uh saga when Kevin Faigie went and saw, oh gosh.
- 8:09Speaker 5: So lady Sony, who's the head Amy Pascal Pascal?
- 8:12Speaker 6: I actually, yeah, Apparently sandwiches were thrown. There was like
- 8:16Speaker 6: a big fight. They were like, hey, we really need
- 8:18Speaker 6: to get in on Spider Man, and they were like,
- 8:19Speaker 6: we are you try it from our cold dead hands.
- 8:22Speaker 6: But eventually peace was made and now Marvel and Sony
- 8:25Speaker 6: work on the Spider Man movies together, but not the
- 8:27Speaker 6: Spider Woman movies.
- 8:28Speaker 2: All right, But my question is this. I heard some
- 8:31Speaker 2: I read something online that could be totally nonsense, that
- 8:35Speaker 2: if Sony doesn't put out a Spider Man every so often,
- 8:38Speaker 2: they lose the rights. Is that true?
- 8:40Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 8:40Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 8:40Speaker 6: I don't know how the specific I can probably come
- 8:43Speaker 6: up with these specific terms and agreements to it, but
- 8:45Speaker 6: they do have to continually release stuff or it reverts
- 8:48Speaker 6: back to Marrow.
- 8:48Speaker 2: That's a sick deal. And but I mean for for Marvel,
- 8:51Speaker 2: because they're saying like, unless you put it out every
- 8:56Speaker 2: X amount of years, it's gonna be taken away from you.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Now.
- 8:59Speaker 2: I don't know if that's for better or for worse
- 9:01Speaker 2: in terms of the movie quality when you have a
- 9:02Speaker 2: gun to your head being like put out a movie.
- 9:05Speaker 2: But it's a good deal for Marvel.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I imagine I would just consistently call Disney and be like,
- 9:11Speaker 1: let's put out another one. Let's put out another one.
- 9:16Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 9:16Speaker 1: Wait?
- 9:17Speaker 2: Wait, no, because you can confuse me because you said Disney,
- 9:19Speaker 2: what do you mean.
- 9:21Speaker 1: If I were Sony, Because Sony and Disney put those
- 9:23Speaker 1: movies out together, that Spider Man that we watched Sony
- 9:27Speaker 1: and Disney product.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Oh I'm sorry. I thought that Tony just had it themselves.
- 9:31Speaker 4: No, no, no. I would consistently call and.
- 9:33Speaker 1: They've already bought in uh Andrew, they bought in Toby.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I would consistently be like, look, we started and I
- 9:42Speaker 1: would call Phil and Chris. We started something with the
- 9:44Speaker 1: Spider Verse situation. Let's freaking attack it hardcore.
- 9:49Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 9:51Speaker 1: If you want to introduce Madam Webb and the rest
- 9:54Speaker 1: of these characters, introduced them through that story. You know
- 9:57Speaker 1: what I mean? If you want to introduce Venom, this
- 10:00Speaker 1: ambient and all of that stuff. I know you had
- 10:01Speaker 1: it before, but introduced them now with that story going on,
- 10:05Speaker 1: and because there's just so much Spider Man now, and
- 10:09Speaker 1: you know it's not interesting if it doesn't all connect.
- 10:12Speaker 1: What am I going to see?
- 10:14Speaker 2: Well, my Madam web is its own separate thing, right
- 10:17Speaker 2: or does it all connect?
- 10:18Speaker 4: It all connects.
- 10:19Speaker 2: It's those comic books. I guess there's another big movie
- 10:22Speaker 2: coming out that I know nothing about it. I did
- 10:24Speaker 2: see the trailer called Argyle that's coming out very soon.
- 10:28Speaker 2: I don't know what you've heard about. That looks fun.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I want to see the new Ghostbusters. I'm gonna be
- 10:33Speaker 1: honest with you.
- 10:35Speaker 5: Also looks cute.
- 10:36Speaker 2: How did you see the other one? The other young perced?
- 10:40Speaker 1: I did?
- 10:40Speaker 2: Did you like it?
- 10:42Speaker 4: I did?
- 10:43Speaker 1: You know? Like a huge fan? You know, I'm a
- 10:45Speaker 1: huge fan of Paul Rudd. He and I go back.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Oh were you guys in? Have you guys worked together before?
- 10:55Speaker 4: A long time ago?
- 11:00Speaker 2: Why do you look so melancholic all of a sudden,
- 11:02Speaker 2: like you're like you're pondering your past.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I'm just turning fifty this year, and so when I
- 11:07Speaker 1: think about how long ago that was a long time.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Again, his skin is like I saw Ty Diggs by
- 11:14Speaker 2: the way.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Oh my god, speaking of good skin.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Ran into Take Diggs and he said, how you doing?
- 11:20Speaker 2: And I said, I'm great. We always talk about how
- 11:22Speaker 2: beautiful you are.
- 11:25Speaker 1: What did he say when you said that about how
- 11:27Speaker 1: we talk about him?
- 11:28Speaker 2: He smiled and gave me a hip hop hug.
- 11:31Speaker 1: He gave you a hip hop hug. That's only Ta
- 11:34Speaker 1: Diggs could.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Yeah, we got a solid hip hop hug in.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Tate Diggs got a straight up rap name, Ty Diggs.
- 11:45Speaker 2: That is a rap name, Tate Diggs. I found this backpack,
- 11:49Speaker 2: you guys, we were gonna make for a second. We
- 11:51Speaker 2: were considering making fake Doctor's Real Friends backpacks, and so
- 11:54Speaker 2: we got a one off and Joelle, I feel like
- 11:57Speaker 2: we should find the right fan to give this too,
- 12:00Speaker 2: because it's kind of amazing and it's one offul times.
- 12:03Speaker 6: I really like, I think, okay, yeah, I have a copy.
- 12:06Speaker 6: It's great, it's so beautiful.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Look at this.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I don't think you don't think we should just throw
- 12:11Speaker 1: that up in the merch store. That'd be kind of fly.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Actually, I don't know why we never made this audience
- 12:16Speaker 2: to describe it to you. It's a black backpack, and
- 12:18Speaker 2: then our faces are on the front pocket the picture
- 12:22Speaker 2: that's our icon from.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Our you can zip our face on open.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yeah, you can zip our faces open. And then here's
- 12:27Speaker 2: the best part, you guys. Because this was a what
- 12:31Speaker 2: do you call it a product demo? What do you
- 12:32Speaker 2: call it a prototype? They made two different kinds of straps.
- 12:36Speaker 2: This one has the eagleing on it and this one
- 12:38Speaker 2: has our heads on. And I prefer this.
- 12:40Speaker 1: One that's kind of dope.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Oh you liked it. It's both different.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Donald, Absolutely, this thing is.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Kind of fly. I mean, obviously I can't wear it
- 12:50Speaker 2: because that would be so ridiculous.
- 12:51Speaker 6: But well, you know, we've put out a really specific
- 12:54Speaker 6: challenge to our fans to be like, hey, tell us,
- 12:56Speaker 6: you know which episode of season nine rocks your world
- 12:59Speaker 6: and why and maybe best answer, when's backpack in the nine.
- 13:04Speaker 2: And you will find out why we didn't make this.
- 13:07Speaker 2: It's so ridiculous. Maybe it would maybe the price point
- 13:10Speaker 2: was too expensive and it was stupid, But it's pretty amazing.
- 13:13Speaker 2: It's a really great it's a good back Look at
- 13:15Speaker 2: how when the pocket doesn't align, our faces are messed?
- 13:19Speaker 1: Is the backpack sturdy?
- 13:21Speaker 5: Is it a good backpack or any.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Type of backpack that goes in the freaking frame?
- 13:26Speaker 2: No, this is like high quality. I mean, I imagine
- 13:29Speaker 2: that's probably why we didn't make it. Maybe the price
- 13:31Speaker 2: point had to be too much money or something, because
- 13:33Speaker 2: it's not a piece of ship. It's a good backpack.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I don't know, Joelle, we look into that because I
- 13:39Speaker 2: saw I was cleaning up my house and I found
- 13:41Speaker 2: this and I just started laughing and I definitely think
- 13:43Speaker 2: someone should win this as a prize.
- 13:45Speaker 5: Dope, let's do it?
- 13:47Speaker 2: Or should we get an episode? Donald count of sin
- 13:49Speaker 2: baby girl.
- 13:52Speaker 7: I'm not sure we made about a bundle, he said,
- 14:05Speaker 7: so YadA YEA.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Very funny episode. Very funny episode. By the way, Donald,
- 14:18Speaker 2: we should discipline Daniel because he actually really fucked up today.
- 14:24Speaker 4: And we're going to put this in the podcast.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna say so. Last week, well, yeah, last week.
- 14:31Speaker 2: What happened was Donald and I right off the bats
- 14:33Speaker 2: started talking in an R rated way.
- 14:35Speaker 1: No no, no, no, no, no no. We should have
- 14:38Speaker 1: saved it for this week first of all. And you
- 14:41Speaker 1: started talking about it in an R rated way when
- 14:44Speaker 1: you said something about tickling. Okay, that's all I need
- 14:48Speaker 1: to listen. You said, you, how do I tantalize the audience?
- 14:53Speaker 1: I want to tantalize?
- 14:54Speaker 2: Was actually the word I was looking for and I
- 14:56Speaker 2: just couldn't think of it. Thank you for reminding me
- 14:58Speaker 2: of the word tantalized. A good one anyway, not that
- 15:01Speaker 2: this podcast doesn't get R rated all the time, but
- 15:04Speaker 2: because we were so right off the bat, we said, well,
- 15:06Speaker 2: maybe just put a both slight warning in case kids,
- 15:10Speaker 2: you know, parents turn it on and they're right away
- 15:12Speaker 2: into talking about waxing taints, and Joel recorded it was
- 15:18Speaker 2: all good. Podcast goes up. They don't think about how
- 15:22Speaker 2: many children you scarred today?
- 15:24Speaker 3: Why it was what in the taint?
- 15:31Speaker 2: Mommy? What is narring a taint?
- 15:33Speaker 1: Mean?
- 15:34Speaker 2: Daniel apologized to the moms who had to explain taints
- 15:37Speaker 2: to their children.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Apologize to the mod not just that, okay, to whom
- 15:44Speaker 3: am I apologizing?
- 15:46Speaker 1: I thought it was funny to be honest with you.
- 15:48Speaker 2: She was hilarious, hilarious always. There's the funniest thing was
- 15:59Speaker 2: that now we've had Casey, we have this text chain
- 16:02Speaker 2: audience so we can like give notes and talk to
- 16:04Speaker 2: each other. It uhould be just the four of us,
- 16:07Speaker 2: but now we added my assistant Mark and Donald's wife Casey,
- 16:11Speaker 2: who often is his assistant. And the ship is funny
- 16:14Speaker 2: that the ship, that the dialogue that happens in that
- 16:15Speaker 2: text chain is funny. No, the best part was like
- 16:20Speaker 2: when Casey wigsing because she doesn't know the context, I'd
- 16:23Speaker 2: be like.
- 16:24Speaker 4: What is this episode about?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Y'all?
- 16:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll be like, Joelle, do you think we should
- 16:30Speaker 2: cut X, Y or Z? And like it's something crazy,
- 16:33Speaker 2: like dirty or something, and Casey's like, what are y'all
- 16:35Speaker 2: talking about? By the way, did you see Casey's cameo
- 16:39Speaker 2: in this episode? No, No, your own wife, Casey has
- 16:45Speaker 2: a background cross. I wrote it down.
- 16:48Speaker 3: I got to go back.
- 16:49Speaker 4: You're gonna have to go back.
- 16:50Speaker 2: And look, bro, I wrote it down. Then wait down, audience,
- 16:58Speaker 2: if you want to write it down ten minutes.
- 17:00Speaker 1: You don't have to apologize, Daniel.
- 17:02Speaker 2: No, I want his apology ten minutes and eighteen seconds
- 17:04Speaker 2: in Casey Cobb is in the background if you want
- 17:07Speaker 2: to see what she looks like in the Mahamas many
- 17:08Speaker 2: years ago. Go ahead, Dan, to both of you, to Joelle,
- 17:14Speaker 2: to the kids and the kids, I apologize for leaving
- 17:19Speaker 2: you hanging, for forgetting something and skirting my responsibility to
- 17:23Speaker 2: this podcast to be the best editor possible. So for that,
- 17:26Speaker 2: I apologize.
- 17:27Speaker 4: You are the best.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Thank you, Dale. You're great. You're great, You're great. I
- 17:34Speaker 2: was just worried about the children down and they get them, of.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Course, because you know, fake doctors, Real friends is for
- 17:40Speaker 1: the kids.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Yeah, as much as.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Forever Wu Tang forever.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I know that most parents who listen to the show
- 17:47Speaker 2: know that they shouldn't well, what's up to them, but
- 17:49Speaker 2: that this content here is explicit. But I only felt
- 17:53Speaker 2: concerned because we went right in like there was no loob.
- 17:58Speaker 4: We went straight cocking balls away.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Oh my god, so we're gonna need to record another
- 18:05Speaker 3: one for this episode.
- 18:07Speaker 2: It becomes a full time thing, which you will has
- 18:09Speaker 2: to give morning.
- 18:10Speaker 3: It's gonna PLoP it on the front of all of them.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I never even got to hear your warning because the
- 18:15Speaker 2: version I heard Daniell forgot to put it on. Joel,
- 18:17Speaker 2: do you want to recreate your warning.
- 18:18Speaker 6: For us, something like, Hey, guys, it's producer Joel here
- 18:22Speaker 6: told you know, we start the show off pretty rough.
- 18:25Speaker 6: We get a little a little wild in here, so
- 18:27Speaker 6: if you want to skip that, you can just go
- 18:29Speaker 6: straight to the fifteen minute mark.
- 18:30Speaker 5: We'll have cleared the craziness.
- 18:32Speaker 6: Of that fout minutes of just but we got.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Into Klonics, we got into Anna bleaching. It was a lot.
- 18:40Speaker 2: It was a lot. I all personally found it all
- 18:42Speaker 2: hilarious and informable and informative that we both said that
- 18:47Speaker 2: and informative. Although now I'm concerned because I got the
- 18:51Speaker 2: naire and one of you all looked it up and
- 18:54Speaker 2: said don't put.
- 18:55Speaker 3: It on my head. Don't do it.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Do it, don't. I don't want to hurt my balloon not.
- 18:59Speaker 6: You know, audiences don't do it, and ZAC definitely don't
- 19:02Speaker 6: do it.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Don't do it. Maybe if I put some tape on
- 19:05Speaker 2: my balloon knot and then just put it all around
- 19:07Speaker 2: so like like a painter's tape, and it won't.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I just really hope that everybody understands what you mean
- 19:14Speaker 1: by a balloon nut.
- 19:15Speaker 2: I think they can put together, not.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Unless they have a balloon tied and can look directly.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Too.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Well, you don't think if I put painters tape on
- 19:29Speaker 2: my balloon knot and then narro it around it, I'd be.
- 19:31Speaker 5: Like, yo' supposed to go anywhere near that area. I
- 19:36Speaker 5: was not even hes here on my own life.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Oh yeah, this episode's going to need another warning.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Now do you remember your first time hearing balloon nott
- 19:43Speaker 1: and how you were like, holy shit?
- 19:44Speaker 4: That is the best description.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I don't. But do you remember who was I feel.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Like someone on the Jay Jay mar J Moore.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Yeah it was he was on Scrubs and he's the
- 19:57Speaker 2: one who said that we where we were like saying
- 20:01Speaker 2: funny words. We've heard for the anus and I think
- 20:04Speaker 2: he won that day with balloon.
- 20:06Speaker 1: He definitely won that day Balloon not It's certainly memorable.
- 20:11Speaker 1: I'll never forget I'll never forget it.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Let's take a break.
- 20:14Speaker 2: We'll be right back after these fine words. Let's get
- 20:24Speaker 2: in the show Scrubs. Very funny episode. It's the part
- 20:28Speaker 2: two of the Bahamas and the episode opens with Bill's dad,
- 20:32Speaker 2: Bill Lawrence's father, whose name is Van v N like
- 20:36Speaker 2: Bill's character in the episode, and they he's sitting with
- 20:42Speaker 2: Kelso and Kelso steals his Bahama Mamas.
- 20:45Speaker 1: The opening for this the the the way that they
- 20:50Speaker 1: do the recap was very, very funny to me. The
- 20:55Speaker 1: opening of this show is a page of jokes, of
- 21:00Speaker 1: notes and how many jokes there were. It just goes
- 21:04Speaker 1: like it was ridiculously funny just the first before. But
- 21:10Speaker 1: I can't do this nothing but joke, joke out the
- 21:14Speaker 1: joke at the joke. It's all in recap as well,
- 21:16Speaker 1: so let's get into it.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Are some of the ones that you laughed at. I
- 21:19Speaker 2: laughed at the introduction of you seeing the Mermaid.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Yes, that's great.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Ja played black Selena.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Selena will remind you was Sarah Chuck's stand in and
- 21:31Speaker 2: she played uh, the Mermaid, the beautiful, mysterious Mermaid. JD
- 21:37Speaker 2: calls Turk black woman, black woman. I laughed at that shit.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 21:44Speaker 4: I'm sorry my.
- 21:45Speaker 1: People, I'm sorry my people, but that shit was funny.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Black woman. And then Jad says, oh, look a cute
- 21:53Speaker 1: little eel and then says no, I'm naked, and he goes,
- 21:58Speaker 1: all right, that is you.
- 22:01Speaker 2: We made that up on the day, I remember, and
- 22:04Speaker 2: that was very funny. That's that. I never thought that
- 22:07Speaker 2: would make the episode. It's funny. ABC's weird standards like
- 22:11Speaker 2: you can't show rob and a banana hammock, but we
- 22:13Speaker 2: can describe your penis as an eel.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Yeah, you can have a say I don't like the
- 22:18Speaker 3: way it's looking at me.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it's so good.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna stand over here because I don't like the
- 22:23Speaker 1: way it's looking at me. I laughed.
- 22:25Speaker 2: And then what do you say? You go, Yep, it's
- 22:28Speaker 2: got a mind of its own.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Yeah, its tone, So.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Your penis is sort of disconnected from your body and
- 22:35Speaker 2: moving around like an eel and then giving me the stink.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Eye because it's got a mind of its tone.
- 22:42Speaker 1: It in this in this case, it literally has a mind.
- 22:46Speaker 2: It It really has a mind of its own. Yeah,
- 22:49Speaker 2: that was very us in the water. I have so
- 22:51Speaker 2: many funny stills of that with the teeky necklaces around
- 22:54Speaker 2: our necks, like in my in my photo library of us.
- 22:57Speaker 2: That's just I was a funny memory of shooting.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I do this is.
- 23:03Speaker 1: This is throughout my Facebook pay Like when I go
- 23:07Speaker 1: through Facebook, this always shows up. Not that I'm on
- 23:10Speaker 1: Facebook all the time, but if I were to go
- 23:13Speaker 1: to Facebook and somebody does have a picture of me,
- 23:17Speaker 1: you and I, it's usually us posing.
- 23:19Speaker 2: We look good. And I think everyone everyone got in
- 23:23Speaker 2: shape for this because we all knew we were going
- 23:24Speaker 2: to be shirtless this.
- 23:27Speaker 4: You know, I would love to be that small again.
- 23:29Speaker 1: That's like back in the day when I was like
- 23:31Speaker 1: a twenty you know, twenty eight in the waist area.
- 23:35Speaker 2: You want a twenty eight, you were at twenty eight.
- 23:37Speaker 4: At one point.
- 23:38Speaker 1: I was.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I just bought these pants. Have you ever bought pants
- 23:41Speaker 2: that were like your aspirational wayte size?
- 23:44Speaker 1: I do that all the time.
- 23:45Speaker 2: I'm trying to manifest. I'm trying to manifest being a thirty.
- 23:49Speaker 2: So I bought thirties and I'm wearing them right now
- 23:52Speaker 2: and I have to undo the top button because I'm
- 23:54Speaker 2: not there yet. I'm trying to I really like to pants.
- 23:56Speaker 2: See these pants, this fucking camera.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Look like there's some stretch.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Yeah. At one when I was doing kick Ass Too,
- 24:08Speaker 1: I got all the way down to a twenty nine.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Wow.
- 24:13Speaker 2: I'm usually a thirty two, but in this new diet,
- 24:15Speaker 2: I was ordering pants and they didn't have a thirty two.
- 24:19Speaker 2: So I said self, I'm manifesting I have a new
- 24:22Speaker 2: waist size. It's thirty because I really want to go. Hey,
- 24:28Speaker 2: they're fine when I if I suck it in, but
- 24:30Speaker 2: I'm going to a place where they're gonna fit fine
- 24:33Speaker 2: without sucking in. Are you gonna join me on my
- 24:36Speaker 2: ten thousand steps day?
- 24:37Speaker 1: Get a little ring like yours, and we're gonna go
- 24:39Speaker 1: on little hikes together.
- 24:40Speaker 2: So I would love that. I wonder how many of
- 24:42Speaker 2: the audience members are actually going to take me up
- 24:44Speaker 2: on my ten k steps a day challenge.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Let's get out there and do that shit, Let's put
- 24:50Speaker 1: that Who shows us?
- 24:51Speaker 2: Yeah, no joke. I'm saying this quite seriously. Audienced. If
- 24:55Speaker 2: you're listening and you need a you need a partner
- 24:59Speaker 2: to be accountable to It's me. I'm doing ten thousand
- 25:04Speaker 2: steps a day, Come hell or high water.
- 25:08Speaker 1: We should post a time that you and I are
- 25:12Speaker 1: gonna go do Runyon, even if I'm dying.
- 25:15Speaker 4: You're gonna have to bring water. Somebody gonna have to
- 25:16Speaker 4: bring water.
- 25:17Speaker 1: You might get out there with the people, get a
- 25:20Speaker 1: drone to fly over with the camera and film us
- 25:25Speaker 1: do to run your canyon? Daniel, do you know anybody
- 25:28Speaker 1: that could do some shit like that. Let's do the running.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Let's get out there with the people, the people that
- 25:32Speaker 1: listen to the podcast.
- 25:33Speaker 4: That would be fucking awesome.
- 25:35Speaker 1: We do the stairs, or we can even do the
- 25:37Speaker 1: freaking real deal, holy field side, where you know you
- 25:41Speaker 1: gotta go where your life's on the line if you slip.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Let's do that one, all right? Got it?
- 25:46Speaker 2: I love this is very classic Donald. He goes he
- 25:50Speaker 2: throttles it before he's even started. Why don't we you
- 25:53Speaker 2: and I start together before we invite all of the
- 25:55Speaker 2: audience to join us on a hike.
- 25:57Speaker 4: I support that, Or we could just start right, let's go.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Let's do it. You know what I would like to live?
- 26:06Speaker 2: You know how to find me? I'm going I gotta
- 26:08Speaker 2: go want to hike after this? What's that's what's cool
- 26:10Speaker 2: about it? Like to be totally real for a second,
- 26:12Speaker 2: is that I normally, like, we do this podcast and
- 26:16Speaker 2: then I would not go exercise this late in the
- 26:20Speaker 2: day after this is over. Just if it didn't happen
- 26:22Speaker 2: in the morning, it wouldn't happen. But now, because I like,
- 26:24Speaker 2: I'm committed to myself and I'm accountable to doing it,
- 26:28Speaker 2: I gotta go on a walk. I gotta go on
- 26:29Speaker 2: a hike to get those steps in and that's what
- 26:31Speaker 2: gets your ass moving, and it's it's good.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Where'd you get your ring?
- 26:34Speaker 4: Did you go to Best Buy to get it?
- 26:36Speaker 5: No?
- 26:36Speaker 2: You can buy it on the interwebs.
- 26:38Speaker 1: But what if I don't want to buy it on
- 26:40Speaker 1: the interwebs? What if I want to get it right now?
- 26:43Speaker 1: Could I get it at best Buy?
- 26:44Speaker 2: I don't think that he's talking about the Aura ring, guys,
- 26:47Speaker 2: which is a ring that measures your steps and your
- 26:50Speaker 2: sleep and your heart rate. It's all of these things
- 26:52Speaker 2: are like, Yeah, you can buy it on the interwebs.
- 26:55Speaker 5: Best Buy has it right now.
- 26:57Speaker 1: You've got to go get one right after this.
- 26:59Speaker 2: They do have it stock nice. What's cool? About it
- 27:02Speaker 2: is too is It tells you how well you slept,
- 27:03Speaker 2: which I like.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Oh, it connects to your iPhone.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Yeah, there's an app, and then we're like doing an
- 27:09Speaker 2: ad for them, Joelle. They should be our sponsor. But you, uh,
- 27:13Speaker 2: it connects to your your your phone, and then when
- 27:16Speaker 2: you wake up in the morning, it like analyzes how
- 27:18Speaker 2: many times you woke up, whether you went into rem
- 27:21Speaker 2: sleep and that's really interesting, and it tells you, like, hey,
- 27:26Speaker 2: if you want the best night's sleep, you should go
- 27:28Speaker 2: to bed around this time tonight. It's cool. If you
- 27:31Speaker 2: try to look it up, it's oh you are a
- 27:33Speaker 2: or oh you are a Yeah, all right, let's get
- 27:36Speaker 2: into the episode. My dude, oh god, it's it's contagious.
- 27:41Speaker 2: I really don't like my dude or my guy, so
- 27:43Speaker 2: let's just say that's never gonna.
- 27:44Speaker 1: The second we landed, the second we got to the
- 27:48Speaker 1: Abba Coast.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Was that your impression of me? The second we got
- 27:51Speaker 2: to the Abba.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Cost Like it was a perfect pitch for a recap.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I had my recap voice on.
- 28:00Speaker 1: That's what it was. It was like The Bachelor tonight.
- 28:04Speaker 2: On The Bachelor, Cox sees us say I love you
- 28:08Speaker 2: to each other. He appears just as we turn and
- 28:10Speaker 2: I practice saying I love you to Elliott, to.
- 28:13Speaker 1: You mm hm, he says, and he said he pops
- 28:19Speaker 1: out of the water. He says, that is about right,
- 28:21Speaker 1: and you're naked some shit like that, right.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Yeah, the janitor is shaking down ted to take one
- 28:28Speaker 2: of his courses. We learned. It's been a long time,
- 28:31Speaker 2: but we learned that the janitor, I guess has a
- 28:35Speaker 2: has a series of courses he provides in his garage.
- 28:39Speaker 4: In his garage.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's but not but not only that, he
- 28:44Speaker 1: it's brain Trust Island style.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Right without Doug.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Well, I don't know that accidentally behind.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but there must have been a reason that Johnny
- 28:55Speaker 2: Castle didn't make it to the island, because that's weird that.
- 29:00Speaker 4: I mean, if Casey had a cross.
- 29:04Speaker 2: This is a Scrubs wiki thing. This is the first
- 29:06Speaker 2: episode in the entire series that plays completely outside of
- 29:11Speaker 2: Sacred Hearts Hospital, except for two short flashbacks with Doug
- 29:17Speaker 2: not being invited to the wedding. That's a nice trivia,
- 29:20Speaker 2: you know, another interesting piece of trivia. There are no
- 29:23Speaker 2: fantasies in this episode.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Did you look at the invites at all?
- 29:29Speaker 2: Yes?
- 29:30Speaker 4: One milk, nurse, nurse, and.
- 29:35Speaker 1: There was a dude. There was a dude all the
- 29:37Speaker 1: way in the back in the window, you know where
- 29:43Speaker 1: the door is where it's closed, and there's a window
- 29:46Speaker 1: there in the door holding up his sign.
- 29:49Speaker 4: I couldn't.
- 29:49Speaker 1: I couldn't make up his clubs.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Wiki says that one says stand.
- 29:53Speaker 1: In, stand in doctor. I got that one, which is.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Very meta because he was a stand in problem.
- 30:00Speaker 1: There's papson.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Okay, So Ted accidentally puts ranch on his face. He
- 30:05Speaker 2: means to put sunblock on his face.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Well, do you want to talk about how he steps
- 30:09Speaker 1: out into the sun first to live a little?
- 30:12Speaker 2: Is that before that? Sorry if I lost it after after?
- 30:15Speaker 1: Really?
- 30:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they're setting up the fact that reminding
- 30:18Speaker 2: the audience that Ted needs sun blocks so badly. He's
- 30:21Speaker 2: covered in it. But he messed up and he puts
- 30:24Speaker 2: ranch all over his face, and Todd eats the ranch
- 30:28Speaker 2: off of Ted's face. Do you think that Rob really
- 30:33Speaker 2: did that? It happens in a cut. I wonder if
- 30:34Speaker 2: you think that Rob really puts celery on Sam's face
- 30:38Speaker 2: and ate it off.
- 30:42Speaker 1: That I do not know, would you do that? I
- 30:46Speaker 1: mean for the work, for the job, yeah, if it's
- 30:48Speaker 1: if it's funny, yeah, but I don't know. I mean, like,
- 30:51Speaker 1: if it was my face, would you say, kissed somebody
- 30:55Speaker 1: on television for comedy? For laughs? Bro?
- 30:58Speaker 4: If it's funny, let's go.
- 31:00Speaker 2: I think tongue kiss is different than than wiping ranch
- 31:05Speaker 2: off someone's face with and eating it. All right, you're
- 31:11Speaker 2: equating the two, like, all right, what would you rather
- 31:15Speaker 2: fake tongue kiss Judy Reyes or eat ranch dressing off
- 31:20Speaker 2: someone's face with celery?
- 31:24Speaker 1: Depends on whose face is.
- 31:30Speaker 2: So you're saying, if it was Rihanna, you'd choose that,
- 31:35Speaker 2: Sue Wells furiously.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:40Speaker 2: I don't think eating Rihanna's celery face is as enjoyable
- 31:45Speaker 2: as fake kissing Judy Rays.
- 31:48Speaker 1: I don't think you know what you're talking about.
- 31:56Speaker 2: All right, take a break and we'll be right back.
- 32:05Speaker 3: All right, you honored me, all right?
- 32:14Speaker 4: Now.
- 32:14Speaker 1: This is the second international meeting of the brain Trust. Yes,
- 32:19Speaker 1: the first one. They say it was in Nicaragua.
- 32:23Speaker 2: I think it was another time he almost got married?
- 32:26Speaker 2: Is that what he says?
- 32:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and he almost got married. He was saying, guys
- 32:29Speaker 1: help pretty much.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I missed that, but he it was something related
- 32:33Speaker 2: to The other international time was the time he almost
- 32:36Speaker 2: got married in Nicaragua.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Ship like that.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Now there's a guy named Ira who I'm assuming was
- 32:41Speaker 2: a local because Ira gets a lot of screen time
- 32:44Speaker 2: making these guys do shots.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Shots. Drank, drank, drink damnit.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a natural leader.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Drank.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Also, the guy who was the bartender who was constantly
- 32:58Speaker 2: serving Kelso behind My Mama's was the actual bartender at
- 33:02Speaker 2: that bar. He was like had been there forever. Remember that.
- 33:06Speaker 2: So yeah, Bill tried to get a couple people to
- 33:08Speaker 2: play themselves.
- 33:09Speaker 4: I had a lot of conk fried conk.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Oh you switched to conk from Oh no, you're staying
- 33:14Speaker 2: with knk instead of conch. No, if we go conk,
- 33:18Speaker 2: you prefer conk.
- 33:20Speaker 1: That's what I called it.
- 33:21Speaker 2: I wonder if there's an actual correct pronunciation.
- 33:25Speaker 3: I believe said it's conch, which we learned from SpongeBob.
- 33:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 33:30Speaker 6: Well, although I do think some people when describing it
- 33:33Speaker 6: as a food, we'll say, like we'll shorten it.
- 33:36Speaker 5: But but there's definitely an a is conch the h
- 33:39Speaker 5: at the end.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Some of that conk.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Sounds weird.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you love conk. So Jad dives onto the bed
- 33:51Speaker 2: and says seagull, yes, and he's trying to turn Elliott's
- 33:57Speaker 2: pissed because JD. I mean, this storyline's a little silly.
- 34:00Speaker 2: But Jad hasn't said I love you in the right way,
- 34:03Speaker 2: So she's mad. She's pouting. She's also pouting because he
- 34:06Speaker 2: said something quite obnoxious. You're acting like you're yeah, yeah,
- 34:12Speaker 2: nobody likes to hear that. But then this is very.
- 34:16Speaker 1: He shows her a video of the two of them,
- 34:21Speaker 1: and he's like, look, how firm turn looks.
- 34:22Speaker 2: How firm tur I mean, this guy is hanging onto
- 34:26Speaker 2: his candy scale by his fingernails. Now, Donald, there's two
- 34:32Speaker 2: moments where that are shot on video, like home video.
- 34:35Speaker 2: And I couldn't help but think was it too much
- 34:37Speaker 2: of a pain in the ass to get the whole
- 34:39Speaker 2: camera crew over there? And and so Bill came up
- 34:42Speaker 2: with this convention that it's home video because we've never
- 34:46Speaker 2: used home video footage before. I mean, granted, we are
- 34:48Speaker 2: on vacation, but it happens twice one at this sort
- 34:52Speaker 2: of beach that appears only at certain times of the tide.
- 34:54Speaker 2: That's where you and I get the camera stolen by
- 34:56Speaker 2: the red head.
- 34:57Speaker 1: We shot I feel like we shot that in Miami. Well,
- 35:00Speaker 1: look at my swim trunks. Well I can't right now, Okay,
- 35:04Speaker 1: so in the shot I have the swim trunks, so
- 35:06Speaker 1: on that we get paparazzied in Miami in the same
- 35:10Speaker 1: swim trunks, if I correct, and if you remember Bill
- 35:15Speaker 1: met us in Miami.
- 35:16Speaker 2: I think you just stole the swim trunks from production,
- 35:19Speaker 2: because I don't think we shot anything.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Now those were my swim trunks. I swear that was
- 35:23Speaker 4: all right.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Well, I don't recall that, but I do remember that.
- 35:26Speaker 2: The other time it happens is when the janitor lugs
- 35:28Speaker 2: me up to the top of the lighthouse.
- 35:30Speaker 1: And that was when you guys went on that trip
- 35:32Speaker 1: to go do that though, remember you Bill.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Right, but it's to bring me, Neil and Bill in
- 35:38Speaker 2: a video camera to the lighthouse, then bring the whole
- 35:41Speaker 2: crew up to the top of the lighthouse. So I'm
- 35:43Speaker 2: just remembering a little bit cloudily that maybe because of
- 35:47Speaker 2: time and just logistics, those two moments were just I.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Really do believe that was in Miami, and I really
- 35:54Speaker 1: do believe it was also, if not that it was
- 35:57Speaker 1: the same day that two guys went to the lighthouse
- 35:59Speaker 1: and we were at a different beach or whatever it was. Well,
- 36:02Speaker 1: I think that's what it was. It was that, Yeah, But.
- 36:05Speaker 2: I think the Abbacos does have this thing where there's
- 36:09Speaker 2: like beaches that appear only at certain tides, and it's
- 36:12Speaker 2: really cool. You take a boat out there and you're
- 36:14Speaker 2: like on a beach in the middle of the ocean,
- 36:17Speaker 2: and then you better be prepared because it's a certain
- 36:19Speaker 2: time that's just gone.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Here it comes.
- 36:21Speaker 2: And I thought we actually went to one, but I
- 36:23Speaker 2: don't remember.
- 36:23Speaker 1: I think we did. I think we did, and I
- 36:25Speaker 1: think I'm just confusing it with us being in Miami.
- 36:29Speaker 1: I think this was something where Bill was like, Yo,
- 36:31Speaker 1: come on, let's go.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:32Speaker 1: I don't think the crew came with us.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
- 36:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:36Speaker 2: I'm just saying, like the use, the use of the
- 36:39Speaker 2: cam quarder. I wonder if it's related to just like
- 36:41Speaker 2: ease and logistics, because it was hard to shoot down there,
- 36:44Speaker 2: and maybe it was just like we're at a fucking
- 36:45Speaker 2: time it's a cam quarter because it kind of makes
- 36:48Speaker 2: no sense why the janitor is shooting that lighthouse moment
- 36:51Speaker 2: with a camquarder.
- 36:53Speaker 4: But maybe no permit.
- 36:54Speaker 2: No, they were very you know, this was like in
- 36:57Speaker 2: collaboration with the tourism board down there were very very.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Permissive Kelso sleeps at the bar.
- 37:04Speaker 2: What also falls asleep at the bar. Calso really is
- 37:07Speaker 2: leaning into being an alcoholic on this episode.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Yeah, lady gotta let her man be her man when
- 37:12Speaker 1: she takes you. That was funny. You were like, you're
- 37:15Speaker 1: all right with this, Gotta let my man be man.
- 37:17Speaker 1: She goes, Okay, have fun, be back. Shut up.
- 37:24Speaker 2: Yeah he's not. He's a lot. Wait, I think you
- 37:27Speaker 2: might be going too fast.
- 37:28Speaker 1: No, well, that's going back before we go to the
- 37:31Speaker 1: that's before you go to the lighthouse and everything.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Like, all the couples are talking about so we're not
- 37:36Speaker 2: gonna talk about yesterday. All the couples are fighting. Yeah,
- 37:40Speaker 2: she's Cox is sick of pretending that they don't like
- 37:43Speaker 2: each other. He's over it. Carla always says this has
- 37:47Speaker 2: to be a quickie.
- 37:50Speaker 1: But Turk is I get. I get Carla's I relate
- 37:53Speaker 1: to this whole story.
- 37:54Speaker 2: I know, man, I thought of you. This whole Carla
- 37:57Speaker 2: and Turk story is your life because, as you say, baby,
- 38:02Speaker 2: we both know my longies aren't that long. But really
- 38:10Speaker 2: related to really you know, you and Casey have spoken
- 38:13Speaker 2: openly about this on the podcast, and I felt like
- 38:15Speaker 2: there was a lot of overlap between you and Carla
- 38:19Speaker 2: and you and Casey.
- 38:20Speaker 1: I disagree. This is before Casey and I were even
- 38:23Speaker 1: talking about all right.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Well then all right, well then it has become an
- 38:28Speaker 2: aspect of your life.
- 38:29Speaker 1: Good, it becomes an aspect I think it becomes an
- 38:32Speaker 1: aspect of most married couples lives in some way.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. Okay, well, let's get them back
- 38:38Speaker 2: on I can't comment on that. Well, let's get them
- 38:43Speaker 2: back on the sex surface.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Follow up, follow up, that's the theme song. We don't
- 38:51Speaker 1: do theme songs anymore. We used to have some really
- 38:53Speaker 1: good theme songs. Do you remember them, Casey, come down here?
- 39:00Speaker 1: There was that one and Joe Elmoniki is downtown? Okay,
- 39:06Speaker 1: what was the other one?
- 39:07Speaker 2: No matter, no.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Matter what's we got a caller, We got a callar,
- 39:12Speaker 3: we got.
- 39:12Speaker 2: A call Yeah, that guy was good. He were a bops.
- 39:21Speaker 3: We had a lot of segments.
- 39:24Speaker 2: You want are you asking for more segments back? Don
- 39:26Speaker 2: do you want to go back to callers?
- 39:28Speaker 6: No?
- 39:28Speaker 1: I just remember the songs. They were great songs.
- 39:30Speaker 2: We had good songs. No songs the recap rat Remember
- 39:37Speaker 2: the recapps that was early on. You did some good,
- 39:41Speaker 2: good ones.
- 39:42Speaker 1: We could go back to that.
- 39:44Speaker 2: You're not gonna do that work anymore. That was when
- 39:46Speaker 2: you were young, for real.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Do check me out son thereopy Hey yo, my lyrics droppy.
- 39:52Speaker 1: I copy never I come through with the pin and
- 39:56Speaker 1: they be sloppy. My lyrics too much.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Carla says on behalf of all women. I want to
- 40:05Speaker 2: thank you for equating sex with love. We think it's
- 40:08Speaker 2: awesome when you do that. Yeah, yeah, well, Turk is
- 40:14Speaker 2: equating sex with love.
- 40:15Speaker 1: In this moment. Don't we all do that? Though?
- 40:18Speaker 3: I think it's a trope to a certain extent, But.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like and I don't really believe that Turk
- 40:24Speaker 1: is equating sex to love. I think he's usually using
- 40:27Speaker 1: it as a weapon to try and trick his wife
- 40:31Speaker 1: into or guilt his wife into wanting to have sex
- 40:35Speaker 1: with him. But I don't think he honestly believes she
- 40:40Speaker 1: doesn't love him because she's not fucking him. He's right,
- 40:44Speaker 1: you know, he's manipulating her. He's trying to manipulate her,
- 40:48Speaker 1: and she flips it on him because she's sensitive, she's pregnant,
- 40:52Speaker 1: she has a baby in her she just had a baby.
- 40:55Speaker 4: Her hormones are all fucked up.
- 40:56Speaker 1: He's not taking that into into you know, he's not
- 41:00Speaker 1: putting that into the equation.
- 41:02Speaker 4: His math is all fucked up. You know what I mean.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Be patient. She's gonna give you the ass eventually, she's
- 41:08Speaker 1: you know, just you just gotta you, just gotta wait,
- 41:11Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I get it, man. I
- 41:13Speaker 1: can relate, Turk, Christopher Christopher Duncan, Turk, I can relate.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Although I played you on television, in real life, this
- 41:25Speaker 1: is me too.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Are your Longi's not that longie?
- 41:29Speaker 1: My longies are long. He's as fuck, dude. Sometimes my
- 41:34Speaker 1: longies is so long that my wife is like, look,
- 41:38Speaker 1: I gotta wake up. Yeah, dude, come on now, Look
- 41:41Speaker 1: the sun's coming.
- 41:44Speaker 2: You hear the birds?
- 41:46Speaker 4: Yeah, dude? For real?
- 41:47Speaker 2: Man, Like, why why if your wife wants a quickie,
- 41:53Speaker 2: do you try and make it a longie?
- 41:57Speaker 1: No, I'm not malicious, but you know, listen, if my
- 42:00Speaker 1: wife wants a quickie, then I don't want Look that's
- 42:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest with you. If my wife wants
- 42:04Speaker 1: a quickie, I don't necessarily want to have sex, but
- 42:07Speaker 1: I'll do I'll take the quickie, but you know what
- 42:09Speaker 1: I mean, Like, you know.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Does she ever say you're turning this quickie into a longie?
- 42:16Speaker 1: That's been said a few times. Yes, you said that.
- 42:21Speaker 1: You said this was going to be a quickie. It's
- 42:23Speaker 1: now turning like a longie.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Did you teach Casey the terms quokie and longie?
- 42:28Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 42:29Speaker 2: All right, Bill Lawrence everyone making his acting debut. I
- 42:34Speaker 2: don't know that Bill has ever acted in a primetime
- 42:36Speaker 2: TV show before this as Van as Van the mysterious Man. Now,
- 42:42Speaker 2: Todd knows Van because his fellow med students on the
- 42:46Speaker 2: island used to practice all of the rectalague Van and Van,
- 42:52Speaker 2: and Van says when they're in a bar, and Van
- 42:55Speaker 2: aka Bill says, did a couple of them right here
- 42:58Speaker 2: in this very bar with you?
- 43:01Speaker 1: To you?
- 43:02Speaker 2: By the way, Todd, who we know is fluids sexually
- 43:06Speaker 2: really leaning gay in.
- 43:08Speaker 1: This episode, I believe hardcore.
- 43:10Speaker 2: There's a very there's several romantic moments with Cab. I
- 43:16Speaker 2: think yeah, because at the end they there's like two
- 43:20Speaker 2: different cuts to them staring into each other's eyes.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Yeah, Like it's not only did we fuck before We're
- 43:27Speaker 1: gonna find them again?
- 43:28Speaker 2: We're gonna. Yeah, the wedding makes them all riled up.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean what what listen what wedding doesn't make
- 43:37Speaker 1: someone riled up?
- 43:38Speaker 2: At a wedding, Yeah, people people feel the party.
- 43:41Speaker 1: There's drinking, there's it's romance, and you don't even have
- 43:46Speaker 1: to be in charge of all of that. Somebody's doing
- 43:48Speaker 1: it for you.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it's tough, you know. I've been to weddings where
- 43:53Speaker 2: you don't have a partner and you're there's so much
- 43:56Speaker 2: romance in the air and you just feel like kicking
- 44:00Speaker 2: kicking rocks.
- 44:02Speaker 1: I wish there were more weddings right about now, and
- 44:04Speaker 1: I was invited with my wife. That would be a
- 44:07Speaker 1: lot of fun, just to get out.
- 44:09Speaker 2: You like weddings.
- 44:11Speaker 1: I like weddings when they're real, Like, ain't nothing like
- 44:14Speaker 1: going to a wedding and being like, oh.
- 44:16Speaker 5: Boys, not real.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Yeah, when you get there and that's it's like, uh.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Got it. I don't think I in the wedding where
- 44:24Speaker 2: I was like, I mean, I've been that way because
- 44:26Speaker 2: they didn't really want to be at the wedding, but not.
- 44:27Speaker 1: Like, guess what if you were that way because you
- 44:30Speaker 1: didn't want to be at the wedding. Guess what the
- 44:32Speaker 1: wedding probably wasn't It wasn't it wasn't popping. You know,
- 44:37Speaker 1: it sounds interesting to me that the Indian wedding, that
- 44:42Speaker 1: sounds fucking awesome to me. It was like days and
- 44:45Speaker 1: days of wedding. That sounds awesome.
- 44:48Speaker 6: So many outfit changes, Oh my gosh, ceremonies beautiful and
- 44:53Speaker 6: so romantic.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Totally, it's like days days.
- 44:58Speaker 2: I think if I ever got married, I would want
- 45:00Speaker 2: to just do something small with a group of people
- 45:03Speaker 2: that were super close to me and uh and you know,
- 45:08Speaker 2: maybe go somewhere, but I definitely don't want like a
- 45:10Speaker 2: tent and a dance floor. I just don't fuck you.
- 45:14Speaker 4: We did that at your house for my wedding. That
- 45:17Speaker 4: was fire.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Yeah, but your wedding was different in lots of ways
- 45:21Speaker 2: because it was real, because the love was real. Right
- 45:24Speaker 2: by the way, I'm not anyone who's into what I
- 45:27Speaker 2: just said. I'm just saying for me personally, it's not
- 45:29Speaker 2: It's not what I would envision, but I know that
- 45:32Speaker 2: a lot of people are dying to have that.
- 45:34Speaker 3: I'm a big fan of small weddings. Full support.
- 45:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you had one right down. You didn't even invite
- 45:39Speaker 2: your friends on front.
- 45:41Speaker 1: You know, we work with you and ship. We started
- 45:44Speaker 1: working with you doing one.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Of the hard everyone done with the gender did and
- 45:49Speaker 2: just like invited us two days before. We definitely would
- 45:52Speaker 2: not have come and you could have gotten presents from us.
- 45:56Speaker 2: I still gave you a wedding gift.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Even though very sweet of you.
- 45:59Speaker 2: What the fuck's wrong with me? Why did I give
- 46:00Speaker 2: you a president? Wasn't invited? I remember my assistant was like,
- 46:04Speaker 2: you gotta get Danil a wedding president. I was like,
- 46:05Speaker 2: you're right, I should, and then I did. It's very sweet,
- 46:08Speaker 2: And now that we're talking about it, I'm like, I
- 46:10Speaker 2: want that back.
- 46:10Speaker 4: Why did I do?
- 46:12Speaker 2: Yeah, send me those Louisvuittan plates.
- 46:13Speaker 4: Back, Send them plates back.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Please, you didn't give me Louise But.
- 46:20Speaker 2: Tom No, I didn't know that was the thing until.
- 46:22Speaker 3: Our last episode was did you find out what the
- 46:24Speaker 3: plates were?
- 46:25Speaker 2: Did you find out if it was Williams?
- 46:27Speaker 4: No way? Ship, hold on?
- 46:28Speaker 8: Let me?
- 46:29Speaker 2: How could you.
- 46:32Speaker 5: You did us out all bitar.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Like segment of the show and he's like, oh wait
- 46:36Speaker 2: that was Oh god, he just wants to get his
- 46:39Speaker 2: wife on the show.
- 46:40Speaker 5: Oh he misses her, Zach, I love.
- 46:42Speaker 2: You, Yeah, This is how I love Donald is. You guys,
- 46:45Speaker 2: when he casts to a podcast for an hour and
- 46:47Speaker 2: a half, he misses his wife, we.
- 46:48Speaker 4: Get to play the song Dani play that ship.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Here we go, Kay, come down here. I don't know
- 46:57Speaker 1: nothing about tell we want to do raising these kids.
- 47:04Speaker 1: And that's what.
- 47:06Speaker 4: You said.
- 47:07Speaker 1: You shouldn't have come home kidding. That hurts a little.
- 47:11Speaker 2: That's how I love he is.
- 47:12Speaker 9: She's like, log onto your thing.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, remember stone Stone.
- 47:20Speaker 2: You didn't remember this, Casey. He didn't remember that you
- 47:23Speaker 2: helped him log in. I guess not because of the weed.
- 47:28Speaker 10: You really didn't remember that. That's a bit that's problematic,
- 47:32Speaker 10: that I helped you log into your podcast.
- 47:35Speaker 1: No I didn't remember.
- 47:36Speaker 9: Oh he's kidding, he says, No, he's not kidding, No,
- 47:39Speaker 9: he's not.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Remember he did a little bit.
- 47:42Speaker 4: I remember.
- 47:42Speaker 1: I had to be reminded, that's all. I just had
- 47:45Speaker 1: to be reminded.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Kids weed, not even once. Can't remember that Casey helped
- 47:49Speaker 2: him log into the podcast. Casey, Donald seems that we
- 47:54Speaker 2: just need to we need to ask you something. Donald
- 47:56Speaker 2: says that you guys were given ridiculously expensive china for
- 48:00Speaker 2: your wedding and initially claimed it was Louis Baton.
- 48:03Speaker 11: No, what brand was it? It was like for Saucy,
- 48:11Speaker 11: that's also nice, Louis Baton.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Yeah, well we were so curious, so we looked it
- 48:17Speaker 2: up and they're like they were extraordinarily expensive, and so
- 48:21Speaker 2: we were like, really, Donald, but maybe I'm sure Arsaci
- 48:24Speaker 2: plates are expensive.
- 48:27Speaker 1: Kind of, they were very expensive.
- 48:29Speaker 12: They were so expensive that we didn't get the full thing.
- 48:32Speaker 12: We had to go and buy it ourselves.
- 48:36Speaker 2: I mean.
- 48:39Speaker 9: Actually bought us everything, everything that was missing. You're right,
- 48:45Speaker 9: you're right.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Why did you put something so expensive on your registry?
- 48:50Speaker 2: Do you feel guilty being like Versace plates?
- 48:52Speaker 9: I didn't think you might buy it?
- 48:54Speaker 2: There you go that.
- 48:58Speaker 9: I should I should have gone to Louis Vaton.
- 49:02Speaker 1: No, the thing is that we should have a wedding.
- 49:05Speaker 9: No, I'm going to tell you know what.
- 49:07Speaker 12: Everybody threw me all these free wedding showers and then
- 49:11Speaker 12: I get it, then the bridle shower and all this
- 49:14Speaker 12: stuff in this company, I'm going to give them a
- 49:16Speaker 12: shout out, a shout out cassa day Paren, Casa day
- 49:19Speaker 12: Paren and they would have all the place settings in
- 49:23Speaker 12: this beautiful china with flowers and butterflies and all this
- 49:27Speaker 12: amazing stuff that you would never think, Oh, I want that,
- 49:30Speaker 12: and they would put it together so beautifully, and so
- 49:33Speaker 12: when we registered, I was like, I want that stuff.
- 49:36Speaker 9: I want something that looks like that. Flowers and butterflies
- 49:39Speaker 9: and all kinds of stuff. It's so beautiful.
- 49:42Speaker 2: Oh, we see it. This isn't nearly as expensive.
- 49:46Speaker 9: But we haven't used it. It's never been opened.
- 49:49Speaker 2: It's very pretty.
- 49:50Speaker 9: We also haven't bought our wedding.
- 49:52Speaker 2: I like these. Actually no, no, Casey, I think I'm
- 49:54Speaker 2: looking at what you have. This is Is this something
- 49:56Speaker 2: you've ever eaten off?
- 49:58Speaker 9: No, it's still in the boxes.
- 50:00Speaker 2: It's in the box.
- 50:03Speaker 9: We haven't even bought her. I just said we had
- 50:06Speaker 9: ate off of it.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Did one time we ate off of it? That's not true.
- 50:09Speaker 9: I've never eaten off of it.
- 50:11Speaker 2: You have, I don't know. I think that's funny. I
- 50:15Speaker 2: wonder if audience members listening who have expensive china they
- 50:18Speaker 2: got for their wedding, if they ever use it, because
- 50:20Speaker 2: this all started with me telling Donald that my mom
- 50:22Speaker 2: had beautiful china she had inherited from her from her
- 50:26Speaker 2: mom or handed down from her mom all the time,
- 50:28Speaker 2: and it was just on display like it was like
- 50:31Speaker 2: we didn't touch it.
- 50:32Speaker 10: Well, you want to know why because you invite people
- 50:35Speaker 10: over to eat and they ruin everything.
- 50:37Speaker 9: They don't take care of anything. So it's like, you know,
- 50:41Speaker 9: what's the point? What is the point exactly?
- 50:43Speaker 1: I know, I'll tell you what the point is. The
- 50:46Speaker 1: point is to be like, yo, I got that ship,
- 50:47Speaker 1: and then twenty years from now when it's worth when
- 50:50Speaker 1: it's when it's worth more? And you're dad, what's that show?
- 50:54Speaker 1: Pond whatever? That show is? This to the guy and
- 50:58Speaker 1: he looks at it with the.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Little about some about antis road anti roadshow.
- 51:04Speaker 9: I'm pretty sure ours is never going to be worth anything.
- 51:06Speaker 4: It's versace.
- 51:07Speaker 2: I don't know if there's a lot of money you
- 51:08Speaker 2: made in the in the plate resale market, I.
- 51:12Speaker 10: Said, there's not a lot of money to be made
- 51:13Speaker 10: in the plate resale market.
- 51:14Speaker 1: I don't know that. You know what non dynasty Ming
- 51:17Speaker 1: dynasty plate. If you got plates from the Ming dynasty,
- 51:20Speaker 1: you're doing.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Your you know what, maybe we'll get from the Ming dynasty.
- 51:24Speaker 2: You're doing dining table to use it? Are gonna getack
- 51:28Speaker 2: to the showcase. We love you, We love.
- 51:32Speaker 9: Zacha, Love you, Zacha, love.
- 51:34Speaker 2: You Yeah, you did good. You married well. You married well.
- 51:41Speaker 2: I need to get on to Waco and find a wife.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Sometimes I'd be doing okay with my freaking decisions.
- 51:46Speaker 2: Man, you definitely marry well. She has a lot of
- 51:50Speaker 2: patience for you.
- 51:51Speaker 4: Sometimes my decision making.
- 51:52Speaker 2: Be like I feel like any I feel like many
- 51:56Speaker 2: girlfriends that I've had in the past. If I said
- 51:59Speaker 2: I haven't see when they had just helped me log
- 52:02Speaker 2: on to the computer, would have would have been less
- 52:04Speaker 2: frustrated than she was with you.
- 52:08Speaker 4: Sure, but you know I did.
- 52:13Speaker 1: I did better than you when it comes to when
- 52:16Speaker 1: it comes to picking my lady.
- 52:19Speaker 2: I get rubbing in as I sat here alone looking
- 52:21Speaker 2: at a pillow girlfriend I've made in my bed.
- 52:26Speaker 1: But you get to have sex with that pillow as
- 52:28Speaker 1: much as you want. Yeah.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Yeah, the pillow does not mind longies, that's for sure.
- 52:33Speaker 4: Pillows like give it to.
- 52:35Speaker 2: Me, pillow has no interest in a quickie.
- 52:38Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 52:39Speaker 1: The pillows like this ship better take hours.
- 52:42Speaker 2: Yeah, the pillows like I'm on the pillows like I'm
- 52:45Speaker 2: lying here all day anyway making a long ee.
- 52:49Speaker 3: Oh my word, let's take a break.
- 52:51Speaker 1: All right on that numb that note.
- 52:54Speaker 2: We'll be right back, okay, back to the show. So
- 53:08Speaker 2: Van is going to marry them, yes, and Jad's all
- 53:13Speaker 2: worked up because he says, this isn't a real wedding,
- 53:17Speaker 2: it's a crazy cleaning person scam for presents, which is pretty.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Accurate, right, But it is a real wedding too, now
- 53:27Speaker 1: because Elliott has convinced lady that.
- 53:32Speaker 4: She needs to have a ceremony.
- 53:34Speaker 2: Yes.
- 53:36Speaker 1: No, Now that's the question. Do the janitor and lady
- 53:39Speaker 1: have the certificate or they're just going to do a ceremony.
- 53:43Speaker 1: If there's a certificate involved, then then they're married.
- 53:47Speaker 4: You know what, I.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Shouldn't really the wedding. There must be a certificate because
- 53:51Speaker 2: the wedding doesn't really nothing really happens at the wedding.
- 53:53Speaker 2: That's that's supposed to happen. Because Van doesn't make any
- 53:57Speaker 2: sense because he's just basically a human cadaver for rectal exams,
- 54:03Speaker 2: so he's not really a great minister.
- 54:06Speaker 1: No, far from it, actually. Yeah, although I do like
- 54:10Speaker 1: the idea of the bride and groom's sitting down.
- 54:13Speaker 2: That was funny, that was nice. We've decided, since it's
- 54:16Speaker 2: our wedding, we're gonna sit and you guys, all right,
- 54:22Speaker 2: So reminding the audience that at ten eighteen, Casey has
- 54:25Speaker 2: her cameo. Then this is when Ted is burned in
- 54:29Speaker 2: seconds by the sun because he has the courage from
- 54:32Speaker 2: the peer pressure to go out in the actual sun
- 54:34Speaker 2: with no sunblock.
- 54:36Speaker 1: On it, and he's burned within seconds.
- 54:38Speaker 2: Then the janitor tapes fish to JD's hands and CG
- 54:42Speaker 2: birds CG birds. Not too shabby for year?
- 54:47Speaker 1: Was not bad for nineteen eighty five?
- 54:51Speaker 2: No, what year was it, Joelle? I have it right
- 54:53Speaker 2: here in front of me because I was on Scrubs Wiki,
- 54:56Speaker 2: Scrubs rewatch show is that? And dono, let's see this
- 55:02Speaker 2: aired on April fifteenth, two thousand and nine. Not bad
- 55:07Speaker 2: he G birds for two thousand and nine.
- 55:09Speaker 3: Okay.
- 55:10Speaker 2: Then I come back and Elliott has to shower because
- 55:14Speaker 2: she has touched ladies hair and we learned that lady
- 55:19Speaker 2: was redhead, and we know that Elliott has issues with redhead,
- 55:22Speaker 2: so she has to run and wash herself. Jad comes
- 55:27Speaker 2: in covered with pooh and says, a hungry sea bird
- 55:31Speaker 2: pood on my shirt.
- 55:34Speaker 1: She tells him to go change it. Turksyes, the mermaid.
- 55:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and he tries to talk Allah Splash the movie Splash.
- 55:45Speaker 5: Will you do a dolphin talk.
- 55:49Speaker 2: For those of you who are old enough to remember
- 55:52Speaker 2: the movie Splash, which I believe was Tom Hanks's big break.
- 55:55Speaker 1: I think I think The Bachelor Party had come up
- 56:00Speaker 1: already before that.
- 56:01Speaker 2: Well, you look at that filmography real quick. I just
- 56:04Speaker 2: heard Tom Hanks.
- 56:04Speaker 4: And I think Bosom Buddy was before that.
- 56:06Speaker 2: Also, Oh, you're probably right Bosom Buddy was. You're right,
- 56:10Speaker 2: I just heard. I gotta remember. I got to say
- 56:12Speaker 2: that Rick Rubin has a really great podcast now and
- 56:15Speaker 2: he had Tom Hanks on I believe was his first guest,
- 56:17Speaker 2: and it was great, really really highly recommend It's like
- 56:21Speaker 2: over two hours long and a great conversation. I recommend it. Anyway.
- 56:25Speaker 2: He was talking about Splash and how no one wanted
- 56:28Speaker 2: to make it. It's that classic story you hear over
- 56:30Speaker 2: and over again. No one wanted to make Splash and
- 56:32Speaker 2: no one believed in it, and then it became this
- 56:34Speaker 2: ginormous success. And it was very early on in Tom
- 56:39Speaker 2: Hanks's career. But you're right he was. His big break
- 56:42Speaker 2: was probably the TV show Bosom Buddies m M.
- 56:46Speaker 6: But Splash and Bachelor Party came out in the same year,
- 56:48Speaker 6: so those wow.
- 56:49Speaker 2: He had a big year.
- 56:51Speaker 1: Well, he had a couple of big years. That was
- 56:54Speaker 1: that's the first big years. Yeah, that's the first level up.
- 56:58Speaker 1: The second level up was big. Oh my gosh. That
- 57:02Speaker 1: was when he went from oh the guy in Bachelor
- 57:05Speaker 1: Party and splash too, Yo, this dude's now nominated for
- 57:09Speaker 1: an Academy Award.
- 57:11Speaker 2: Bachelor Party was crazy, dude.
- 57:13Speaker 1: They were nipples the size of quarters. That's all I
- 57:16Speaker 1: remember about.
- 57:17Speaker 2: Do you remember that they had a donkey that did
- 57:18Speaker 2: like kayludes at the Bachelor Party?
- 57:20Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 57:22Speaker 2: Well I remember that movie.
- 57:26Speaker 1: It was never in theaters, it was only on cable
- 57:28Speaker 1: and stuff like really, yeah, it was one of those
- 57:30Speaker 1: It was one of those.
- 57:31Speaker 2: Movies that can't be true to I'll google it up please. Also, wait,
- 57:36Speaker 2: wasn't there a scene donald where someone puts their penis
- 57:39Speaker 2: in a popcorn thing in the movie theater and covers
- 57:42Speaker 2: it with popcorn, And when the woman goes to grab
- 57:44Speaker 2: the popcorn, she touches a penis.
- 57:48Speaker 1: That's the classic Is that where it comes from? Cut
- 57:50Speaker 1: a hole in the bottom of the party. I'm not sure.
- 57:54Speaker 1: I don't remember it.
- 57:55Speaker 4: Probably is.
- 57:57Speaker 2: That movie was so dirty and wrong and it's just
- 58:00Speaker 2: so funny that it launched, but.
- 58:02Speaker 1: It was the bachelor party. You've been to bachelor parties, dude,
- 58:06Speaker 1: I'm gone with you. The bachelor never.
- 58:08Speaker 2: Seen a donkey doing.
- 58:10Speaker 1: You've seen quite a bit at a bachelor party, though,
- 58:14Speaker 1: bachelorette parties, you've seen quite a bit there. These are
- 58:18Speaker 1: things that movies are made of. Is the hangover that
- 58:22Speaker 1: ship could happen.
- 58:24Speaker 2: That shit could happen. What's that from Hollywood Shuffle that I.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Believed in that ship, that shit could have happened, that
- 58:32Speaker 1: shit could happened.
- 58:34Speaker 2: What is that movie? They were reviewing a movie.
- 58:36Speaker 1: They were viewing like uh, they were viewing like Indiana Jones.
- 58:40Speaker 1: And at the end of it, he's like, that's the
- 58:42Speaker 1: one that they disagree on. He's like, he's like, He's like, nah, man,
- 58:47Speaker 1: he said he believed in that he liked that ship.
- 58:50Speaker 4: I thought that she was bullshit. And then they get
- 58:52Speaker 4: the last one, the Finger, but.
- 58:53Speaker 1: The one that they really loved was the wiz My Bitches.
- 59:00Speaker 1: So he says, not chick it up, you have to
- 59:06Speaker 1: fuck you up after the clip after.
- 59:08Speaker 2: That, if you haven't seen Hollywood Shuffle, audience to yourself
- 59:12Speaker 2: a favor.
- 59:13Speaker 5: So good and the Criterion Collection now it is.
- 59:17Speaker 4: Oh shit, get out of here.
- 59:18Speaker 2: It deserves to be.
- 59:20Speaker 1: That was a classic, one of my favorite movies of
- 59:22Speaker 1: all time. The opening for that movie alone, Tommy him
- 59:31Speaker 1: in the bathroom rehearse in hisfe.
- 59:33Speaker 2: I always actually love to watch the Criterion version of
- 59:36Speaker 2: that and here like here, like you know commentary.
- 59:39Speaker 6: Yeah, Bacher Partaby did get a theatrical release. It made
- 59:41Speaker 6: thirty eight thousand, four hundred and thirty five dollars and
- 59:44Speaker 6: oh so nothing.
- 59:45Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 59:45Speaker 1: How much money did it make? How much money didn't make?
- 59:48Speaker 2: Joy? You're kind of contracting yourself. It technically got a release,
- 59:51Speaker 2: but it only means thirty eight thousand dollars.
- 59:52Speaker 6: Yeah, thirty thousand, that means one theater show theater. I
- 59:57Speaker 6: missed the Comma thirty million for thirty five thousand and
- 59:59Speaker 6: seven dollars. So it was a hit, yes, and a
- 1:00:02Speaker 6: four million dollar opening weekend in nineteen eighty four.
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: Money, it's pretty good.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Oh sorry, it's a big difference.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: So for a moment, it was. For a moment it
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: was exactly what Donald said, and then it became the
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: total opposite.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: Of what covered the cost of the cameras for one day.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: All right back to the show, Van hits on Lady
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: during the ceremony.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: Yes, weird.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: Part of me was like, was this a Zeltzer character
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: that didn't make it?
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: Well? Do you know the Van Allspan slash Bill also
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: has a band aid on his.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: Finger, yes, which it was creepiers our story behind that.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: I don't remember him being injured obviously, I mean, there's
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: no reason need to wear a band aid if he
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: didn't cut himself, But it's creepier when he touches her
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: face with his band aid. Fan had to be let
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: go and the janitor takes over. Wait, I skipped over,
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: So we're about to learn the janitor's name for the
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: first time, and shit happens, and then Todd and Cabot,
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: who were clearly about to hook up, ruin the moment
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: because it's four fifty seven high tide five. Yeah, by
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: the way, here's something I never knew, and that clearly
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: in the Bill Lawrence universe fucks up other things. The
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: name starts with a sh because he's about to say
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: the janitor's name, and Van goes sh and they're interrupted
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: by the high five. What name starts with a Shalina?
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: We know that what if he was shoe, shoon shoon,
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: shlomo sho. I just want you if you're if you're
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: really into you know, looking at those moments. You can
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: go back audience and see that when Van starts to
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: say the janitor's name, it definitely starts with the sh.
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: And then I cried like a baby.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: Oh my god, did you really cry?
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: I cried like a baby.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: I cried so hard for of all, Sam, Where can
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: I get this version of hey Yah?
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Yeah? I think it was my idea.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: He just like he Oh.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: There was a there was a cover of hey y'all
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: from what's his name? The Hawaiian singer Israel? Was it
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: not him?
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: No? He was dead by the time that song?
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: I think so. Yeah, I agreed, Okay, well someone did
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: a cover like this, and I think I if I'm
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: not mistaken. I showed it to Bill and we were
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: and we were like, what if this was a Sam cover?
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: I think that's how it came together.
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: It was so gosh all the way through to him
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: doing all right, all right, all right, all right, all
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: of it shake.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: It's such a I would I would love to have
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: a cover by Sam of that song. It's so good.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: But oh man, I cried. I cried so hard.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: You cried.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: I cried the voice. I cried because of his voice.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: I cried because of the moment. I cried mostly because
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: it was him, you know what I mean. And you
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: know when you see things that are magical and special
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: and everything like that, and you are a part of it,
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: and it's somebody that you know you'll never see again
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: other than that moment, and that moment was so long ago,
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: like I don't even feel like I look like that
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: guy anymore. And to see him fresh and alive.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: And the amazing thing about Sam was that he you know,
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: he was playing this cartoon obviously character, this you know
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: of Ted, but he was obviously nothing like that. He
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: was the sweetest, smartest, kindest person. And then he had
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: this ridiculous voice. That's what's so sweet about it, too,
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: is that you're always laughing at Ted as the butt
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: of the jokes because that's the character he was.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: But that wasn't Sam.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: Listen to that guy's voice that is not that is pure,
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: Like he sounded like that on the day. That's what
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: the guy's voice was like.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: Amazing, oh man, it was. It was a moment for me.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: And then I thought it was moving too.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: Well then Carlo shows up looking ut f hot a f.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: When they're when they're walking into the ocean. I wasn't
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: staring at myself.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: I don't think you were. No, you were staring at her.
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: I was no.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: I was staring at the way the booty was bouncing
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: in the sand. Yeah, she looks at everything.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: Now my question is this because we've set up part
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: A of the story that Turk wants to have underwater relations.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: Are they are they running to just swim or are
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: they running to have underwater relations?
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: They're ready to have underwater I think they're gonna in
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: the ocean.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: I think they're gonna go find that mermaid and have
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: a threesome.
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: Turch fantasy.
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: He was talking about Black Woman.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: Turk's next kid is gonna have gills because Cross.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: Would be a great fan. By the way, if there
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: was going to be a fantasy in this episode, Turks
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: threesome kid with the Mermaid would be a good one.
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, Black Women.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: It's all in the Doctor Acula universe too, Like Doctor
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: Acula is the main superhero and then the horror you
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: know what I mean. The creature from the deep is
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: black woman, black woman, So you could be doctor Acula.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: I could be black woman.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: I'm so into this.
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: This is so awesome.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: Right, let's shoot Monday.
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: I knew you'd love it.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Let's go, man, we can do it. Man, We'll hire Sarah.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: Who could Sarah be man?
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: What's a wonder woman version of this universe? But it
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: has to be like a horror Joelle, you know horror.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: I'm contemplating another episode while Joel contemplates. Is of that
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Recruver podcast was Jason Blum of Blumbhouse And I really
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: recommend it if you're a filmmaker.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: It what so interesting, that's really you know Blumhouse the
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: a video?
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: What do you do it on an iPhone?
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: First?
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: No, the movie that really broke them was Paranormal Activity.
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: Wasn't that on the iPhone?
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: No? I didn't see the movie. But wasn't it like
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: a camera footage of like computers? Guys, I don't know
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: the movie about it? Yeah, it was on security camera
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: footage of the security security camera footage. Yeah, and it's
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: an amazing story. He tells the whole story on the podcast.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: And if you're an aspiring filmmaker, I highly recommend it.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: But it's basically like, no one wanted it, everyone passed
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: on it. It was the second time I'm telling a
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: story like that, but it's true. But you know, there's
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: so many stories not with like that.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: And and you were talking about one. Hollywood shuffle is one.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: He paid for that thing with his own credit cards, and.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: Now here we are talking about it this many.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: Years later Criterion Collection.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Blair Witch project had already happened, and Jason Blum, I guess,
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: didn't bid on that when he was working I believe
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: from Miramax, and he kept saying to everyone, guys, let's
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: not miss another Blair Witch project. This is it. I'm
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: telling you. I'm telling you, and everyone was like, nope, nope,
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: don't get it. Then they're, oh my god, this is amazing.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: I'm getting goosebumps retelling the story. You have to listen
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: to this. But then finally found a studio that said,
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: we like the concept, we want to remake it. And
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: he said, remake it. It's incredible. Why are you guys
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: not getting this? He goes, let's just test it as
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: it is, and he was like playing the game and
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: he was like, that's this way. Even if you're gonna
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: remake it. You'll see from a test what works, what
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: doesn't work. It'll be a proof of concept and you'll
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: have all the data you need for your remake. But
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: in his mind, he's like, this fucking thing is gonna play.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: I just know it, know it. They go test it
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: in front of three hundred people and they go fucking nuts,
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: and he said, I never heard a single sentence about
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: remaking this movie ever. Again he came and they've made
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: like how many of them now, and it's become an
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: enormous success and it launched his whole company.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: Such a story is through Blumhouse. All good horror is
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: through Blumhouse. Now horror too, but most good horror is
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: almost horror is Bluomhouse now.
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: He has the most unique deal in all of Hollywood.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: I want of a kind deal where he's the studio
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: releases his movies, but he has complete autonomy to make
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: whatever he wants. It's a really incredible story of a guy.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: I really tell you. Listen, listen to the podcast. It's
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: it was really great.
- 1:08:29Speaker 6: I don't know what do you think about Elliott Frost?
- 1:08:30Speaker 6: If you meet Elliott Emma Frost character kind of works.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Emma Frost Elliot ice lady. Yeah, she's the ice lady.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: And then what would Carla bed She's the Ark of
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: the Covenant where she opens up her head.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: Let's finish up the episode. Cox throws Jordan in a
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: pool adorable. J D and Elliott on the dock. They
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: don't dock, but they're on a dock, and.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: He tells her he loves her more than turk.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: Yes, people really love this. I've seen this meme a
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: bunch of times, Elliott, I love you more than turk.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: But I think it's a sweet moment that ends the
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: episode between me and Elliott, Between j D and Elliott,
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: because even though they're kidding, you really do see that
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: they've met their soulmate and that she's his dream girl.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: And I read on scrubs Wiki, really sweet thing that
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: that harkens back to him saying that earlier on hold on,
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: let Me find It. JD calls Elliott his dream girl,
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: which is a reference to my first day. I guess
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: he must say that in the pilot.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Well, not only that it closes the story, also so
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: it makes way for the finale, so there's no will
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: they be together? Won't they be together? Conversation in the finale.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: It makes it so that we know they're going to
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: live happily ever after if he do do any sort
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: of happily ever after.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: If we do do any sort of reboot. I think
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: Elliot and Jad have to be together.
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: The fans will literally right in the street if you're together.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: I think, I agree. I agree, it can't be.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: I think you all come together because Turk dies.
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: I think that's what I think.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: No, that can't happen. But if he stays on his
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: hit show, then Turk's gonna die.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Bro.
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: Just Turk has the voice.
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: I know that.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: If you know, guys know this. But we come on
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: on Tuesday nights, same day as a podcast. Tuesday Nights
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: eight thirty on NB premises Peacock. The very next day, Turk.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: Is dead, and so the voiceover comes from Heaven from
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: Donald and I was, as I was looking down on
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: all my friends, your.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: Final season is like the final season is like Turk's
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: observation from heaven.
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what we're going to do. If you stay
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: on your head show.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna at the show. Listen, please people, Tuesday nights, NBC.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: And coming soon Scrubs with Turk from Heaven Tuesday Nights
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: at nine.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: Also, if you get the opportunity a good person, thank you.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: It's on Prime.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: I had a really nice I had a crazy thing.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: Someone DMed me. Can I tell you? Can I read
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: you the guys this please see it please. It really
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: was moving to me, so moving that I sent it
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: to my therapist. That's how moving it was. And the
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: fucker didn't reply back. I think if a therapist should
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: reply back to your opinion.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: I think he was like, you're good, you're good, but
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: don't worry about it.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: No, my therapist is awesome when we text, and he's
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: really changed my life. But I sent him this note
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: someone sent me because it was so cool and uh,
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: and you didn't reply and now my feelings are hurt.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: But that's okay. We'll talk about it in the next session.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: This person wrote, I will not be ignored.
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but the way I just said, Brian, that give
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: from from Fila Attraction, did you? Yeah? It's so funny. Guy,
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: we do think I like baby. Brian wasn't Brian Klugman
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: wasn't texting me back, and I sent the gift from
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: Fiddle Attraction. I will not be ignored. This lovely person wrote,
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: Hey Zach, longtime Scrubs Van. I want to let you
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: know that in one of my graduate level mental health
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: counselor classes, we're watching A Good Person. I've already seen
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: it twice before, but thought you would like to know
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: that it's inspiring people in my field. Have a good
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: have a good one and tell Donald. I said, Wu
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: tang forever sweet.
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: It's wonderful if you wrote.
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: That, and you're probably listening, thank you. You made my
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: day with that.
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: But that's a that's real talk, bro.
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: Yeah, when you when you think would reply, when.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: You write from truth and when you write from you know,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: this is what Scrubs was like too, you know what
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: I mean? Because Scrubs was so true to the field,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: and what you wrote is so true to addiction. It
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: touches you know what I mean. That's not a gloss
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: at all. Everybody who's had a conversation with you, even
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: if they haven't dealt with addiction, can relate to this
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: movie in some way.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you. And grief too. It's not just addiction
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: but grief. And I mean I feel like everyone in
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: their life of a certain age has had to get
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: by something incredibly painful to them. And I think that's
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: what the movie's about, standing back up again after something
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: like that happens.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: Yeah, but through addiction. No, man, you know what I'm saying. Like,
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: when they see this movie, they see the markers, man,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: and the markers are real, and you put that in
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: the movie, And that's that's a credit because a lot
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: of people don't do their.
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: Research, Zach.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: A lot of people just gloss over that shit and
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: try and get to the story of Well.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: I was super careful about getting it accurate obsessively, so
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: I made sure there was this one woman who not
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: only had beaten an opioid addiction herself, but was counseling
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: young women, and we hired her to not only make
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: sure everything I wrote was correct, but she was on
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: set every time we did anything related to recovery because
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: I was just I was like, I cannot fuck any
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: of this up, Like would that poster really be there?
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: Like everything, she was there, and after I was about
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: when I was done with big scenes and I was
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: about to move on, I'd be like, does that feel right?
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: She's like, that feels totally accurate, And so that was great.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: It was important to have her there, But thank you, Donald,
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: I appreciate you, and I appreciate whomever wrote. That means
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: a lot to me. Let's just end a little more
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: trivia from Scrubs Wiki. This is the last episode Doug
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: ever appears in. He's one of the few major recurring
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: characters to be absent from the intended series finale. That's shocking,
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: and Doug wasn't there at the beloved season eight finale.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: But it must have been some reason.
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: Did he go and get married at this time?
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: I don't know, And maybe Bill put him in in
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: this way because it was his last opportunity to be
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: in I'm not sure what was going on with Johnny Castle.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: This is one of the rare occasions in which the
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: janitor calls JD JD.
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: I saw that too.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: The venue for the wedding, if you'd like to visit it,
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: where the episode was filmed, is called the Hopetown Harbor Lodge.
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: The bartender that appears in the episode's real name is,
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: in fact Gary. He worked at the Hopetown Harbor Lodge
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: for over fifteen years. When he speaks to doctor Kelso,
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: he speaks with a Jamaican accent. He does, not, however,
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: have a jam.
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: That's good trivia.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: It says he also makes a fantastic rum runner. I
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: don't know what a rum runner is, but well.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you if Bahama Mamas aren't clear like
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: that either them. Things are slushy. From what I remember,
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: that shit was like an ice icicle.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: Doctor Kelso is the only member of the staff to
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: not be present at the wedding, as he is at
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: the barn.
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: He's like twenty feet away.
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: No no, no, no, no no no.
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: That was a fun episode. Thank you guys for great episode,
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: for listening, Thank you for joining us, Joelle. Anything you
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: want to tell the audience.
- 1:16:21Speaker 6: No, keep sending us your favorite episodes from season nine.
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: Got a couple of good ones in there so far.
- 1:16:26Speaker 6: You can email us at scrubsiheart at gmail dot com.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: Can we fix somebody's life again?
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: Yeah, let's let's fix some lives, Joelle, Okay, we missed that,
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: because really really fixed. We love not only we love
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: fixing your life. We missed the theme song.
- 1:16:47Speaker 8: You can talk to watch sing show dudes, you know,
- 1:16:49Speaker 8: like a bala smoke some maybe talking about the episode.
- 1:16:56Speaker 8: So come on, let's get the show.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna try and do a recap for this whole
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: You're gonna go get episode. I'm gonna start right now
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: here we go. Zach Braff said, it never happened. I
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: was laughing at the end of the last episode. It
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: was clapping like my butt cheeks in the lapping.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: I'm not saying what no one wants to hear. You live,
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: write a wrap, say Joelle. Also sorry to give you
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: lots of homework, but also see if you can dig up.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: First of all, someone's gonna win this amazing, one of
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: a kind backpack. And Joel, see if you can find
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: out why we didn't move forward making them, because it's
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: kind of amazing. We should make like a hundred Okay,
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: because I mean I can't wear it, but I want
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: to see someone.
- 1:17:58Speaker 5: Wearing Yes, Okay, I see what we can do.
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: What happens on these shows. When you work on a show,
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: you get like awesome you know, swag from the show.
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: But you know, if you're if you're on the show
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: or you're involved in you can't only wear it because
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: it's pretty embarrassing you're walking around wearing like a shrinking sweatshirt.
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: But we got lots of cool stuff, right Donald.
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: What rhymes would happen.
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: Oh my god, my god, so funny.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: All right, everybody would love you a joke.
- 1:18:29Speaker 5: I was so proud of that joke.
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: Exact rap said it would never happen. But I'm coming
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: back slapping.
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: Okay, well he's he's making his way. Guys. By next
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: week we should have a wrap.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: Watch to see what happens.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: I gotta wrap for you ready, everybody listening, try not
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: to hate.
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: Five six seven, Hey.
- 1:18:52Speaker 7: Sorr show, we made about a bunch of dos and
- 1:19:00Speaker 7: know who loved me?
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Here?
- 1:19:01Speaker 7: I said, here's a stormy net all should know. So
- 1:19:06Speaker 7: gather round you here, gather round you here a spect
- 1:19:11Speaker 7: we watch your wiz and no
