- 0:34What is going on, everybody?
- 0:35Welcome to Lunch with the Clydesdale.
- 0:37It is Wednesday,
- 0:39and Wednesday means we go Cajun,
- 0:42and that's why Corey is here.
- 0:44We are cooking Cajun with
- 0:45Corey on a Wednesday.
- 0:48Yes, we are.
- 0:50And if you didn't laugh at
- 0:52the cartoon of Corey riding a bison,
- 0:55I don't know what I'm doing.
- 0:56Right, yeah, no.
- 0:59I did.
- 1:00I just don't know what I'm doing, man.
- 1:05I did.
- 1:10I throw stuff in the chat, GBT,
- 1:11and that's how I make my thumbnails.
- 1:15I'm in Montana, and I was like,
- 1:16what can I do Montana-ish that's funny?
- 1:22Corey riding a bison popped in my head,
- 1:24and there it is.
- 1:25It's a beautiful thing.
- 1:28It's a beautiful thing.
- 1:30Little known fact, I would ride a bison.
- 1:35You are one, I am not another.
- 1:37No way, no how, man.
- 1:41There's an old, like, you know, people do,
- 1:42like, voiceovers and stuff for, like,
- 1:44old shows or whatnot, make it funny.
- 1:46There's a thing called Guy on a Buffalo,
- 1:49and a dude, like, sings a whole song.
- 1:51It's some old movie or TV
- 1:54series or something, but it's some dude,
- 1:56and it was, like,
- 1:56in the probably supposed to be set in,
- 1:59like,
- 1:59the late eighteen hundred or
- 2:00something like that.
- 2:01So some dude looks like Daniel Boone.
- 2:04But he is legitimately
- 2:05riding a buffalo and run around, like,
- 2:08saving people and whatnot.
- 2:10And there's a song that goes with it.
- 2:11And, oh, my God, it's funny.
- 2:15It's a guy on a buffalo.
- 2:21Trent Olive,
- 2:22I can see Corey wrangling a
- 2:23gator and taking it for a ride.
- 2:25I don't mess with alligators.
- 2:29Here's why.
- 2:31They can swim a hell of a
- 2:32lot better than I can.
- 2:33And nine times out of ten,
- 2:34they're in the water.
- 2:36I've seen Corey swim.
- 2:37I can back that story up one
- 2:39hundred percent.
- 2:39Yeah, absolutely.
- 2:40Not a great swim.
- 2:41Working on it.
- 2:42Going to swim in the warm water.
- 2:44I want to tell this story real quick,
- 2:46Light,
- 2:46because you will appreciate the
- 2:47ever-loving shout of this.
- 2:49So Saturday morning,
- 2:51we had the nine eleven
- 2:53heroes run for Travis Manion Foundation.
- 2:56five K ruck or just, you know, five K run,
- 3:00whatever.
- 3:01I did the ruck version with my vest.
- 3:05And so, you know, we went and did whatnot.
- 3:08I had to get my little one,
- 3:09my seven-year-old, my daughter,
- 3:11my light of my life,
- 3:12the maniac that lives in my house.
- 3:14to softball practice so like
- 3:16we got done hung out for a
- 3:18little bit and then had to
- 3:19jet out well turns out I
- 3:20came in second in my age
- 3:21group cool right so the
- 3:24next morning I'm showing
- 3:26jameson my middle and I
- 3:28said hey daddy got this for
- 3:30coming in second yesterday
- 3:32at the run that we went to
- 3:33and she said you got a
- 3:35medal and I was like yeah
- 3:37so she goes in her room
- 3:39She comes back with the
- 3:40medal that they gave her
- 3:41for the U-Five soccer that
- 3:43she did a couple of years ago.
- 3:45And she said, well,
- 3:46what did I get this for?
- 3:48And I said, well,
- 3:49they gave you that just for
- 3:50participating in the season.
- 3:51And she looked and went.
- 3:56And as she's turning around, she said,
- 3:58that's no reason to get a medal.
- 4:01We didn't put it back in her room.
- 4:05Look, I'm punching the air, dude.
- 4:08Like, my heart grew fucking four sizes.
- 4:11Oh, my word.
- 4:14Like,
- 4:14I'm having a pretty good parenting week.
- 4:16Like, she said,
- 4:18that's no reason to get a medal.
- 4:19You know what, baby?
- 4:20You're damn right.
- 4:21That is what you're right.
- 4:22That is no reason to get a medal.
- 4:25Proud of her.
- 4:26That's cool.
- 4:27That's cool.
- 4:27Yeah.
- 4:28Yeah.
- 4:31So,
- 4:32I've been so out of touch with CrossFit.
- 4:33I'm
- 4:34And all week I've been
- 4:35trying to watch videos, right?
- 4:36Watch YouTube, whatever.
- 4:38And nothing's coming up on my screen.
- 4:41And I'm searching like
- 4:43different podcasters in the
- 4:45space and nothing's coming up.
- 4:47And I'm like,
- 4:48what in the world is going on?
- 4:50And so this morning I
- 4:51discover that the people
- 4:54who own the Airbnb have the
- 4:56Wi-Fi restricted to like
- 5:01kids only programming.
- 5:05The whole Wi-Fi.
- 5:10And so, like,
- 5:11I have not been able to catch
- 5:12up on things unless I click
- 5:16off of Wi-Fi and use my
- 5:18cell service to bring in the internet.
- 5:21So I've had to switch
- 5:22everything over this morning.
- 5:24And I finally,
- 5:24finally caught up on some stuff.
- 5:27But good gravy.
- 5:29I'm like,
- 5:30did everybody get blocked on YouTube?
- 5:33bro I literally was
- 5:34searching people and there
- 5:36nothing was coming up yeah
- 5:39can't find nobody did
- 5:40everybody get kicked off at
- 5:41the same time like what
- 5:42kind of coordinated is that
- 5:45I better check for uh
- 5:46hidden cameras yeah yeah it
- 5:50was I well I knew that we
- 5:53have so we're in this
- 5:54airbnb right and in montana
- 5:56all the houses are tiny
- 5:58they're like little I don't
- 6:00know how to describe like
- 6:02They call this a bungalow,
- 6:04but like all the houses are this way.
- 6:05There's a little two bedroom,
- 6:07one bath houses.
- 6:08And so when I was trying to
- 6:10hook up like an airplay to the TV,
- 6:14I noticed there were other
- 6:15things on the list of
- 6:16options that were not in this house.
- 6:20And I was like, oh,
- 6:21so we're on a shared thing
- 6:23for like multiple houses.
- 6:27No wonder I'm not getting
- 6:28any like fast downloads and uploads.
- 6:32and having to do everything
- 6:33on five G cause me and
- 6:36everybody else is trying to
- 6:37use this in at the same time.
- 6:41Um,
- 6:42I understand my work does that
- 6:43sometimes there are times
- 6:45my YouTube is set to a
- 6:46restricted mode and I can't
- 6:48watch certain video
- 6:49channels on my work computer.
- 6:50Yeah.
- 6:50But your work that makes a
- 6:52little bit of sense.
- 6:54So I'm here on vacation.
- 6:55Yeah.
- 6:57I'm at an Airbnb.
- 6:59Right.
- 6:59But I paid for it.
- 7:05That's fantastic.
- 7:06It's insane.
- 7:08So I,
- 7:10I dove into a couple of things this
- 7:12morning and I got a message
- 7:14from another media company
- 7:17in the space this morning
- 7:18saying I was semi mentioned in something.
- 7:21So I've been diving around and I,
- 7:23and I do want to discuss
- 7:24some of those things.
- 7:25The first thing I watched
- 7:26the coffee pods and what's
- 7:28with Dallin pepper.
- 7:30And I really liked Dallin a lot, man.
- 7:32Like he just,
- 7:34And he gets it.
- 7:36I think he just gets it, right?
- 7:38That we have a job, they have a job,
- 7:43and it may not be the ideal
- 7:46thing you want people saying about you,
- 7:48but he gets it.
- 7:50And he used the word annoyed,
- 7:52not like bullied, not to your campaign.
- 7:59that's fair.
- 8:00Like,
- 8:00I feel like the way he characterized
- 8:01it was fair.
- 8:02Like absolutely.
- 8:03I could see if I was in his shoes,
- 8:05it could be annoying
- 8:06because anything you do is
- 8:07going to get scrutinized,
- 8:08but that's part of being a
- 8:09professional athlete.
- 8:11Well, we're all annoyed by things.
- 8:13Like I watch stuff and I get
- 8:14annoyed watching.
- 8:16And it doesn't mean I
- 8:17dislike that person or that channel.
- 8:19No, it just means in that moment,
- 8:21I got annoyed by something.
- 8:23Right.
- 8:25But the thing that, um,
- 8:27And we're going to bring up the WFP,
- 8:28which means I'm probably
- 8:29going to get negative
- 8:30comments and all that kind of stuff.
- 8:32Just wait for it.
- 8:34But he did bring up what he
- 8:36believes the pay structure
- 8:37is going to be like.
- 8:39And this is one thing that if it is true,
- 8:42what he believes to be true
- 8:44is in fact going to happen.
- 8:46I think it's the best thing
- 8:47that they've done.
- 8:48And that is the pay
- 8:49structure for the contracts
- 8:50next year is based on your
- 8:52finish from this season.
- 8:54So if you win the WFP,
- 8:56you get the highest
- 8:57contract going into next season.
- 9:00And then it is tiered down
- 9:02just like a like the games
- 9:04do their payouts for first year.
- 9:07Right.
- 9:09It's done in the same manner.
- 9:11And if that is what they're doing,
- 9:12that's big kudos to WFP.
- 9:15That is that is an incentive
- 9:18based performance based
- 9:21payout that makes sense.
- 9:24Good on them if that's what they're doing.
- 9:25I don't know if you noticed or not,
- 9:26but you just said something
- 9:28positive about them.
- 9:33I'm doing the positive sandwich, man.
- 9:37Because I'm about to go off a little bit.
- 9:42Okay.
- 9:42I'm waiting for this.
- 9:44So I get a DM from Barbell Spin.
- 9:49Asking me about or telling
- 9:51me to stop spreading rumors
- 9:54and doing a smear campaign
- 9:56against the WFP.
- 9:59And I'm like, what are you talking about?
- 10:01Like I'm on, I'm on vacation.
- 10:04I don't,
- 10:05I don't even know what you're
- 10:06talking about, dude.
- 10:08And that's before I realized
- 10:10I'm on restrictive mode.
- 10:11Yeah.
- 10:12So he says,
- 10:13go to the WFP newest thing and
- 10:16check it out.
- 10:18And.
- 10:19this minute, that minute, whatever.
- 10:21So in that, they asked him, Seth Jumpship,
- 10:27who pretty much took over
- 10:28the whole interview and did
- 10:29an awesome job,
- 10:30was interviewing Will Moran,
- 10:32and he asked him about the
- 10:34exclusivity rumor that was out there.
- 10:37And Will said that those are lies,
- 10:41it was a smear campaign,
- 10:42and it was just somebody
- 10:43trying to get clicks.
- 10:46Well,
- 10:48That rumor started here on this show.
- 10:50And I did say in that
- 10:52statement that it was a rumor, right?
- 10:55Five percent.
- 10:57You made that clear several times.
- 10:58Right.
- 11:00I was not trying to start a
- 11:01smear campaign.
- 11:02And as you all know,
- 11:03I want the WFP to succeed
- 11:05because if they can find a
- 11:06way to make this work,
- 11:07it means good things for
- 11:09all of us moving forward.
- 11:13The other part of it is the
- 11:15sources I had on this
- 11:17were multiple they and they
- 11:20are not connected and they
- 11:21said the same thing and
- 11:25they will I would consider
- 11:29a really good source at the
- 11:34very least right
- 11:35trustworthy so and then will goes on
- 11:48me do not care about the
- 11:52well-being of the athletes
- 11:54they just want to bash them
- 11:56they want to get clicks so
- 12:02what I want to say is if
- 12:03you if you are out there
- 12:06doing a sport in the public
- 12:08eye you are setting
- 12:10yourselves up to be judged
- 12:12you are setting yourself up
- 12:13to have criticism
- 12:16That is why people get
- 12:17passionate about things,
- 12:18and that's why there is
- 12:19money to be earned in that sport.
- 12:24So it's my internet that's going bad.
- 12:27Yeah, I am really,
- 12:28really – I'm really
- 12:29struggling here because I
- 12:30don't have Wi-Fi.
- 12:31It's way better than – Way
- 12:38better than what?
- 12:39It's way better now.
- 12:41You kind of broke it up a little bit,
- 12:42but it's much better now.
- 12:47If you're in the public eye
- 12:48and you're trying to earn
- 12:49money in the public eye
- 12:50doing public things,
- 12:51you're going to be judged.
- 12:52You're going to be scrutinized.
- 12:54And then Will said something
- 12:56about you don't care about
- 12:57their mental health.
- 13:00If this is going to sound
- 13:02super insensitive because
- 13:04I'm a strong believer in
- 13:05strong mental health and
- 13:07like I go to therapy myself, you know,
- 13:10it is what it is.
- 13:11But if being an athlete and
- 13:14being judged for your athleticism
- 13:18is going to give you mental
- 13:19health problems maybe this
- 13:20isn't the the career for
- 13:22you that's that's yeah um
- 13:32and and this is not to make
- 13:36light of mental health and
- 13:36I think actually his
- 13:37statement makes light of
- 13:39true mental health issues
- 13:42one million percent you are
- 13:46playing a game
- 13:47And you were earning money for that game.
- 13:51That should not be a mental health issue.
- 13:56You should know that that comes with it.
- 14:05But I want to flip it back
- 14:06on the positive side.
- 14:08People like Dallin and Jason
- 14:11who are embracing the media
- 14:13and who are actually using
- 14:15the media for their own benefit.
- 14:18because they create their own narratives.
- 14:21They control their own
- 14:22narratives because they
- 14:25either defend themselves,
- 14:27make a joke about it, or do what,
- 14:32or get out in front of it.
- 14:34They are winning in this
- 14:36current climate because of that.
- 14:44It's,
- 14:46I know there's a lot there
- 14:47and I probably ranted in
- 14:49different directions.
- 14:52There's a lot there,
- 14:52but mind and body is connected, right?
- 14:58He's supposed to be the
- 14:58fittest athletes in the
- 14:59whole world on the face of the planet.
- 15:02Like literally the fittest on earth.
- 15:04That is the title.
- 15:06And granted WFP does not
- 15:09crown the fittest on earth.
- 15:10They crown the world fitness
- 15:12project champion or whatever the hell it,
- 15:14whatever the hell it's called.
- 15:16But.
- 15:19We all know who they are.
- 15:19We all know what they are.
- 15:21So the fact that you're
- 15:22worried about their mental
- 15:24health because somebody
- 15:25might have said something
- 15:26negative somewhere on the internet.
- 15:28How soft is that?
- 15:30When people, like you said,
- 15:32have legitimate actual
- 15:34mental health issues.
- 15:36That argument is so overblown, overdone.
- 15:42I know people that have real
- 15:43mental issues.
- 15:44like actual mental stuff going on.
- 15:47And that lessens that so
- 15:49much when I hear about some
- 15:51athlete who heard somebody say something.
- 15:53And let me say this too, um,
- 15:57ninety percent of what I
- 15:59saw spin post either this
- 16:01morning or last night,
- 16:03Uh,
- 16:03because this morning he had showed the
- 16:06Google, uh,
- 16:07search or whatever it was at
- 16:09WFP and that had CrossFit
- 16:11and like just showed what the hump was.
- 16:12And that's all it was.
- 16:13We're just showing, Hey,
- 16:14this is what the popularity
- 16:15of people searching for CrossFit is.
- 16:17This is what the popular people.
- 16:19And he's getting lit up in
- 16:20the comments because all
- 16:22you just posted negative stuff.
- 16:24It's not negative or positive.
- 16:25It's just a thing.
- 16:28If you're looking at it as
- 16:30in saying that it's negative,
- 16:31that's putting it on you to say, well,
- 16:34my thing is not as popular
- 16:37as the other thing.
- 16:38So in my view,
- 16:39what you just posted is negative.
- 16:41And I'm going to come at you for it.
- 16:43That's so silly because it's
- 16:46literally just statistics.
- 16:48It's the news.
- 16:49It's, hey,
- 16:50this is what it looked like in here.
- 16:51This is what it looked like in here.
- 16:53The VFP with three events
- 16:55culminating in a
- 16:56championship is positioning
- 16:57themselves to be on the
- 17:01level of the games, right?
- 17:03I mean, you can't deny that.
- 17:04You're looking at it, that's what it is.
- 17:06We got two events that lead
- 17:07up to this championship.
- 17:09CrossFit has the open
- 17:10semifinals and the championship, right?
- 17:14So to compare the two things,
- 17:17even if we're in year
- 17:18twenty and they're in year one,
- 17:20that's a natural thing that
- 17:21people are going to want to do.
- 17:23If you don't like the statistics,
- 17:25that's fine.
- 17:27Be better at your stuff.
- 17:29Be a better fan, promote them more,
- 17:32get them more popular, do more stuff.
- 17:34But don't come at the people
- 17:35who are just saying, Hey, here's what,
- 17:39here's what happened here recently.
- 17:40Like that is so insane to me.
- 17:44I train all of with facts, not feelings.
- 17:47Yeah.
- 17:50It is natural that any new
- 17:52entity coming into a sports arena, right?
- 17:57Back in the eighties,
- 17:58when the USFL started up against the NFL,
- 18:01you compared the USFL's
- 18:04numbers to the NFL.
- 18:06When Live Golf came in and
- 18:08stole golfers from the PGA Tour,
- 18:11they were doing case
- 18:13studies of the ratings
- 18:15between a Live Golf event
- 18:17to the PGA events, right?
- 18:20That's going to happen in whatever you do,
- 18:25right?
- 18:26I mean, for years we've even,
- 18:27before WFP even existed,
- 18:30Wadapalooza's numbers
- 18:32compared to CrossFit's
- 18:33numbers on streaming.
- 18:35People looked at those numbers.
- 18:37It's been happening for years.
- 18:38This is not a direct attack on you,
- 18:41the WFP.
- 18:42You put yourself in this
- 18:43position by coming in and
- 18:45competing against the
- 18:47CrossFit Games season.
- 18:49You said we can do a
- 18:50structure that makes more sense, right?
- 18:54Yeah.
- 18:55And we think we can do it
- 18:57better than CrossFit, which is fine.
- 18:59I think that's a valid argument.
- 19:02But don't get upset when
- 19:04then people are comparing
- 19:06your results to what existed before.
- 19:11Right?
- 19:11That's natural.
- 19:15It doesn't matter what it is.
- 19:17Like you said, the golf thing, the USFL,
- 19:20if a new racing league
- 19:22started tomorrow that was
- 19:23going to be in direct
- 19:24competition with NASCAR,
- 19:25and instead of turning left,
- 19:26they turned right,
- 19:28it would be all over ESPN and every,
- 19:32you know,
- 19:34Fox Sports and everywhere else
- 19:35for months on end,
- 19:38comparing the two things,
- 19:40because they're similar but different.
- 19:44I mean...
- 19:53All right, this is going to take a minute.
- 19:55So Lex,
- 19:57you can be an athlete and have
- 19:58mental health needs.
- 19:59It doesn't exempt them based
- 20:00on the career they choose.
- 20:04It's not being soft to have
- 20:05mental health concerns and
- 20:06discrediting someone else's
- 20:07mental health issues versus
- 20:08someone else is not a good look.
- 20:11I'm not, I am saying the exact opposite.
- 20:13I'm saying that there are
- 20:15true mental health needs,
- 20:16but if you're going to be a
- 20:18public figure in the limelight,
- 20:21you have to know that with
- 20:23that comes criticism and
- 20:25judgment and I just felt
- 20:29like that when if you
- 20:33already know that and
- 20:34you're complaining about
- 20:35what is known it's making
- 20:38light of other people going
- 20:39through true hardships
- 20:42And I'm not saying athletes
- 20:43don't go through hardships.
- 20:45There are other hardships in
- 20:46life that they can be
- 20:46fighting through and going through,
- 20:49and I completely understand all of that.
- 20:52But to say because I said
- 20:55there's going to be
- 20:55exclusivity in the sport
- 20:57next year or because the
- 20:59lighting is bad at your event,
- 21:01that that's creating mental health issues,
- 21:04I think that's where the
- 21:05statement gets to be
- 21:07overblown and doesn't make sense.
- 21:19I mean, like I said,
- 21:20I see a therapist once
- 21:22every couple weeks.
- 21:24I have my own mental
- 21:25struggles that I go through.
- 21:29Everybody.
- 21:30Everybody has them.
- 21:32And I'm not trying to
- 21:33discredit anybody who might
- 21:35have some who happens to be
- 21:37a professional athlete or even a, quote,
- 21:40professional athlete.
- 21:42What I'm saying is that
- 21:44that's a horrible excuse to try to,
- 21:46because you're making
- 21:47comparisons to one thing to another.
- 21:49That's a horrible reason to
- 21:50go after somebody to just use that.
- 21:53Well,
- 21:53what about the athlete's mental health?
- 21:55What about it?
- 21:57Are they doing okay with it?
- 21:58Are they taking steps to correct it?
- 22:00Are they doing what Scott
- 22:01does and go and see a therapist?
- 22:04Or are they just complaining about it?
- 22:09Or even worse,
- 22:11are you just complaining
- 22:12about it for them?
- 22:15Because that's not helpful either.
- 22:20I think I think that if if
- 22:32Will cited specific things in the media.
- 22:34Instead of doing the blanket,
- 22:36the media is awful because they do X,
- 22:39right?
- 22:40And that's what happens.
- 22:42It's these blank targets.
- 22:46I know personally that every
- 22:47time I talk about it,
- 22:48I get attacked from people
- 22:51that are big supporters of the WFP.
- 22:53And in most cases,
- 22:56I say a constructive
- 22:57criticism of how to make it better or
- 23:01I am trying to support them.
- 23:05We've gone over this a hundred times.
- 23:06I don't want to go down this road again,
- 23:08but it just... It's the
- 23:13same thing over and over again.
- 23:14You can't win.
- 23:16In a situation like that,
- 23:17there's nothing you can do
- 23:18because no matter if you
- 23:20come on and you just be
- 23:23positive and just say things and, oh,
- 23:26and they're just figuring
- 23:28it out as they go along and whatnot.
- 23:31then they're just going to
- 23:32be all placated and happy
- 23:33and then never going to
- 23:34hear anything negative, not negative,
- 23:36constructive.
- 23:38You don't want friends like that, right?
- 23:42You don't want friends telling you, oh no,
- 23:43Scott, it's fine.
- 23:44It's absolutely fine.
- 23:46No, whatever you're doing.
- 23:47Oh, you started doing drugs.
- 23:48Oh no, I'm sure it's fine.
- 23:50I'm sure it's fine.
- 23:51I'm sure it'll be okay.
- 23:52I don't want friends in my life like that.
- 23:55I want people who's going to
- 23:56hold me to the standard and
- 23:58try to help me to be better.
- 24:00And from day one,
- 24:01And I know we've said this a
- 24:02million times now.
- 24:03I feel like we've been
- 24:04talking about this for two
- 24:04months at this point.
- 24:06From day one,
- 24:07you out of everybody else has been, hey,
- 24:11I want this to work.
- 24:13I think this is a good thing.
- 24:15And everybody else was kind
- 24:16of and you want to give
- 24:19them a fair shake to begin with.
- 24:20And as it has gone by and
- 24:22they've repeatedly shot
- 24:23themselves in the foot.
- 24:26For whatever reason that has come by,
- 24:29then your view specifically
- 24:32has switched around a little bit.
- 24:34That doesn't mean you still
- 24:35don't want to succeed,
- 24:38but you're just being honest.
- 24:42That's the part that drives me bananas.
- 24:44It's like I can't just call
- 24:45it like I see it.
- 24:51That part drives me nuts.
- 24:54They don't want to hear that.
- 24:57And sometimes maybe I'm just
- 25:03too connected to different
- 25:05groups in the space.
- 25:08Hearing what some of the
- 25:08volunteers went through,
- 25:11hearing what some of the
- 25:11employees went through on
- 25:12tour stop one and were let
- 25:14go before tour stop two has
- 25:18really jaded me in some of
- 25:19those respects because I don't know.
- 25:26I don't think they are
- 25:28willing to take constructive criticism.
- 25:30And if you're not with them,
- 25:33you're against them,
- 25:34and they just shut you out.
- 25:39Great.
- 25:42And here's one more piece of
- 25:43constructive criticism.
- 25:45So in that podcast,
- 25:49Will explained that they
- 25:50were going to expand the
- 25:52tour's stops next year
- 25:55and maybe even more after
- 25:56that and that eventually
- 25:59they would look at a system
- 26:01where they would take like
- 26:02your three best finishes to
- 26:05get your point total to
- 26:06qualify you for the final
- 26:08event wherever that may be
- 26:11this year it's in
- 26:11copenhagen then they also
- 26:15talked about doing away
- 26:16with the challenger
- 26:17division and make a deeper
- 26:19pro field which is happening next year
- 26:24my only constructive
- 26:26criticism about that is I
- 26:29think we found in the
- 26:30crossfit space that like a
- 26:32forty person field was not
- 26:35as um enjoyable as a thirty
- 26:38person field because of the
- 26:40number of heats you want to
- 26:43create this deeper field
- 26:45but if now you're going to
- 26:46give people the options to
- 26:47take tour stops off because
- 26:50only their top three scores count
- 26:54that field is is not going
- 26:56to be as deep and as strong
- 26:58as people are taking time
- 26:59off and the risk they're
- 27:02really going up against is
- 27:05if you have twenty of those
- 27:07thirty athletes or forty
- 27:08athletes I don't they he
- 27:09did not give a number right
- 27:11competing in the crossfit
- 27:12game season most likely
- 27:15there's a tour stop that's
- 27:16going to affect that season
- 27:17more than any other and
- 27:19that tour stop you're going
- 27:21to show up with none of your top athletes
- 27:24Unless they have chosen to
- 27:26forego the CrossFit game
- 27:27season and just do the WFP season.
- 27:36And I think that,
- 27:39and this is where I think
- 27:40like their mind may be
- 27:42working in the right direction,
- 27:44but they're not to a place
- 27:45where they have built their
- 27:47following for that to make sense yet.
- 27:50I'd agree to that.
- 27:56that it's like they want
- 27:59everything at once right
- 28:04like just give me all the
- 28:05things let's do all things
- 28:07all things at once and I
- 28:08just for me personally um
- 28:14if it would have been
- 28:16We're having an event.
- 28:18This is what we're calling it.
- 28:19And not being, oh,
- 28:21and we're adding this thing.
- 28:22Like, hey,
- 28:24this event has grown so big that
- 28:25we are going to do two events next year.
- 28:28And one of them is going to
- 28:29be a qualifier for the big event.
- 28:31They're both going to be in person.
- 28:32You can make money at it.
- 28:34To where it's natural
- 28:35evolution type stuff.
- 28:36This just seems like
- 28:39It's a, it's, it's for me personally,
- 28:41it's almost a cart before
- 28:42the horse type deal.
- 28:43Like, okay, well now we've got three.
- 28:45Well, next year we'll do four, you know,
- 28:49with, with three stops and then a, a,
- 28:51a final and then next year we'll do six.
- 28:54And like, the more you expand that,
- 28:57the more it overlays with the other,
- 28:59with the other things,
- 29:00like as somebody who competes,
- 29:03I've only got so many
- 29:04competitions in me a year.
- 29:07Like the body can only take
- 29:08so much before people are
- 29:11going to start getting hurt,
- 29:12before people are start going, you know,
- 29:14having nagging injuries
- 29:15that just roll over into, into,
- 29:17and then into, and then into.
- 29:19And there's a whole lot of
- 29:21CrossFit athletes out there,
- 29:23but I don't know if there's
- 29:25enough to support and to
- 29:27put out a decent product
- 29:28that people are actually
- 29:29going to want to pay to see.
- 29:31Does that make sense?
- 29:32Like for everybody that
- 29:33drops out of the crossfit
- 29:34season for the elites,
- 29:36there's somebody there
- 29:36waiting to pick it up.
- 29:38But the reason that that
- 29:40person is there to pick it
- 29:41up is because the person
- 29:42that was in front of them
- 29:43was way better and is just
- 29:44out for whatever reason.
- 29:48I hear you.
- 29:49I do think they had to show
- 29:52a different season
- 29:53structure because that is why –
- 29:56that is why they created
- 29:58this to show that it can be
- 29:59done differently and more
- 30:01effective um but I think
- 30:04they just they tried to put
- 30:06too many things in place in
- 30:07the first year like they
- 30:09should not have tried to
- 30:10create an affiliate system
- 30:12they should not they should
- 30:13have focused on the one
- 30:14thing if you're going to do
- 30:15that down the road
- 30:17establish yourself as this
- 30:18first and then build on to it don't just
- 30:22keep throwing spaghetti
- 30:22noodles against the wall
- 30:24and seeing which things sticks.
- 30:26Yeah.
- 30:26You know, just David Reed.
- 30:32I would rather focus on the
- 30:33games masters then if I'm
- 30:36bored of the WFP.
- 30:39And that's probably where they're at.
- 30:41Like,
- 30:41but there are some people that are
- 30:44disgruntled with CrossFit
- 30:46and that they went all in
- 30:48as spectators to the WFP.
- 30:51And there are a group of
- 30:52people that do want that to
- 30:55succeed more than anything.
- 30:59So, yeah,
- 31:00there's a group of us that have
- 31:02been in the CrossFit space
- 31:03for a long time and are
- 31:04here to support CrossFit
- 31:07and hope that they do things better.
- 31:08But we've been very critical of them.
- 31:10There's another group that
- 31:11have been so critical of
- 31:12them that they've teared off.
- 31:14They're gone.
- 31:16And they were looking for an alternative.
- 31:19They're all in on WFP.
- 31:21I know that because they'll
- 31:22be in my comments tonight
- 31:23telling me how wrong I am
- 31:26about these takes.
- 31:28That's fine.
- 31:30That's their choice to do so.
- 31:35It's okay to like a
- 31:37different flavor of ice cream.
- 31:40It is.
- 31:42It makes me think this
- 31:46flavor of ice cream will still be here
- 31:50Like we're not going anywhere.
- 31:51So come on back.
- 31:54Not a big deal.
- 31:55We'll still be here.
- 31:58Yeah.
- 32:00I think that the WP kind of
- 32:02became rocky road.
- 32:04They just threw the kitchen
- 32:05sink of stuff into it and
- 32:07they weren't ready.
- 32:08They didn't process
- 32:09everything before they did.
- 32:20Speaking of comps, Mr. Mark Moss,
- 32:22we'll go ahead and read that first.
- 32:24Oh, yeah.
- 32:25I want the WFP to succeed
- 32:26for the athletes like Fish
- 32:27and Ibarra who get no
- 32:29income from the game season.
- 32:31It helps them make some money.
- 32:34I think it's good.
- 32:37I do.
- 32:38That's one thing that
- 32:39CrossFit has done bad, poorly.
- 32:41You did not get paid.
- 32:42You got paid more for an
- 32:43open finish than you did
- 32:45for a semifinal finish,
- 32:47which makes absolutely no sense.
- 32:50sense no but uh speaking of
- 32:56mark moss the founder
- 32:59chairman of the board ceo
- 33:01all that stuff of uplift
- 33:03everybody knows and loves
- 33:04more they were putting on
- 33:06he's trying to find their
- 33:06first ever competition and
- 33:08apparently he texted me I
- 33:09just saw it I saw him come
- 33:11in there uh earlier uh they
- 33:14had a competition
- 33:17that they've been trying to put on, uh,
- 33:19actually it was on his
- 33:20second date in November and
- 33:22it just got canceled.
- 33:25That's terrible.
- 33:30There's all the profits
- 33:31we're going to be going to
- 33:32suicide prevention,
- 33:34which is our mission to begin with.
- 33:38Mark, that sucks, dude.
- 33:39Sorry to hear that.
- 33:40I'll call you later, brother.
- 33:41Yeah.
- 33:44Mark's a great guy.
- 33:46Uh,
- 33:47Sorry that that happened to him.
- 33:52Sucks.
- 33:52Back on this, Lito, to be honest,
- 33:55I think the only issue with
- 33:56WP is that they're just a comp,
- 33:57but trying to be more than a comp.
- 34:00I think that's kind of it.
- 34:04They should have just been
- 34:05chocolate ice cream,
- 34:06and instead they threw
- 34:08marshmallows in the mix.
- 34:09They threw some kind of nut in there.
- 34:13They threw some chocolate chips in.
- 34:17then it just became muddied
- 34:18right and it is I think
- 34:24that is the biggest problem
- 34:26um david reed says are the
- 34:32wfp supporters welcome back
- 34:33if that fails I believe so
- 34:36I will welcome them back absolutely
- 34:41I don't have hate in my heart for anybody,
- 34:43dude.
- 34:43Look, go do other stuff.
- 34:45I feel the same way about
- 34:46fitness in general.
- 34:48Like, I like to poke fun at people,
- 34:50namely Doug Reed's wife, Judy,
- 34:53for her Orange Theory days
- 34:54before she started over here, right?
- 34:57But if you are doing something
- 35:00To take care of yourself.
- 35:01I don't care what it is.
- 35:03Good on you.
- 35:04God gave you one body.
- 35:05Take care of it.
- 35:06Right.
- 35:07Big fan, big fan, all that same thing.
- 35:10If you want to go and watch, uh,
- 35:12what is it?
- 35:12The international IFF.
- 35:14F is that right?
- 35:17Yeah.
- 35:18I have three.
- 35:19Awesome.
- 35:20I've seen some of their stuff on online.
- 35:22It's kind of hard to follow
- 35:22because there's one big
- 35:23camera and I think they
- 35:24were speaking some language I don't speak,
- 35:27but.
- 35:28Good.
- 35:29Like if that's what you like, hey, bro,
- 35:31more power to you.
- 35:32It's not for me because I
- 35:34can't follow it just
- 35:35because I have no idea what's going on.
- 35:36Right.
- 35:37But if that's what you do,
- 35:39I got one of my real good
- 35:42friends does Gridley and I
- 35:45try to watch it when I can.
- 35:46Again,
- 35:47hard for me to follow because I
- 35:49don't know all the rules
- 35:49and all the good stuff.
- 35:51But if that's what they want to do,
- 35:54fantastic.
- 35:55It looks fun.
- 35:57If y'all want to follow the
- 35:58WFP in their entire season, awesome.
- 36:00Make it happen.
- 36:02We need to lift up Megan here.
- 36:04She's in a cut and we have
- 36:05to stop talking about ice cream.
- 36:10So we will support our listeners.
- 36:12Megan,
- 36:12we will stop because we want you to
- 36:15succeed in your cut.
- 36:18So good on you for being strong.
- 36:24And like Lex says, get a Ninja Creamy.
- 36:26Then you can make your own
- 36:27and you don't have to,
- 36:29you can put like protein in
- 36:30there and you don't have to
- 36:31put all the fatty stuff in there.
- 36:33I am running out of room at
- 36:34my house for kitchen gadgets.
- 36:37I just bought, you gotta laugh at me.
- 36:39I just bought a rice cooker
- 36:41like three weeks ago.
- 36:42We've been making rice on
- 36:43the stove for the past five years.
- 36:46And we bought like the big ginormous one.
- 36:49And that was the big question is like,
- 36:51okay, where are we going to put it?
- 36:52Because we got that in the
- 36:54air fryer and a slow cooker and, uh,
- 36:58got a fry daddy at my house somewhere.
- 37:00Like it's all the things.
- 37:06Yeah.
- 37:06I, um, I have one, I broke down.
- 37:10I love it.
- 37:12Yeah.
- 37:12I only use it maybe once a month now.
- 37:16Um,
- 37:16but I can make a healthy version of ice
- 37:18cream.
- 37:19It gets me that flavor and
- 37:22then I can move on.
- 37:24You just substitute protein powder?
- 37:26You just put your protein powder in there?
- 37:28I don't know how it works.
- 37:30It's a lot more complicated than that.
- 37:33Usually, I use sugar-free Jell-O.
- 37:37I use an oat milk and a protein powder.
- 37:43There's some other stuff you
- 37:44have to throw in to make it set up, but
- 37:48There are recipes everywhere
- 37:49on the Internet.
- 37:53I am not.
- 37:54I am not.
- 37:55I'm not against it.
- 37:56I'm a big fan of the stuff
- 37:59that shall not be named
- 38:01while I'm still here.
- 38:03Jay Birch,
- 38:04you just sprinkle like literally
- 38:05it's like a teaspoon of the
- 38:07Jell-O mix into it.
- 38:09And all it does is it helps
- 38:11it kind of firm up and it
- 38:12gives some of the flavor to it.
- 38:16And it's the Jell-O pudding mix,
- 38:18not the Jell-O wiggly stuff.
- 38:21Unless you're into the wiggly stuff.
- 38:26Wiggly stuff gets you jazzed.
- 38:28Follow me and choose that.
- 38:38Milk and protein powder.
- 38:42Mark, is that all you need,
- 38:43really and truly?
- 38:46I really do want one, dude.
- 38:47Like I am a big fan.
- 38:48Like I used to,
- 38:49when I was doing RP back in twenty,
- 38:52twenty eighteen,
- 38:54I did my first cut with RP
- 38:56and RP would make you not make you,
- 38:58but you could have not.
- 39:03What is it?
- 39:04It's a different kind of.
- 39:07It'll come to me in a minute, but anyway,
- 39:08you can make like a pudding
- 39:09with it and you put it in a
- 39:11freezer at night.
- 39:14That'd be my nighttime snack
- 39:16before I go to bed.
- 39:18And I always remember thinking, like,
- 39:19if I had some sort of quick
- 39:22ice cream machine type deal,
- 39:23that would work a whole lot better.
- 39:25And now there's this Ninja Creamy thing.
- 39:29Cason.
- 39:30That's it.
- 39:30Amanda's got it.
- 39:31Cason.
- 39:32Cason pudding.
- 39:33Yes, ma'am.
- 39:33Yeah, I used to make that.
- 39:35I'm not a pudding fan, though,
- 39:37so that never... That's why
- 39:38I was told in the freezer.
- 39:40Like...
- 39:41Throw it in the freezer for an hour,
- 39:43like make it before dinner,
- 39:44throw it in the freezer for
- 39:44an hour or whatever.
- 39:46Dude, that was jammed up.
- 39:50Yeah, it is the RP stable.
- 39:55Yeah.
- 39:58So Tear Cup's coming up this weekend.
- 40:01We're kind of running out of time.
- 40:02I had it on the list to talk about.
- 40:06I'm not going to be able to
- 40:07watch a lot of it because
- 40:09I'm going to be on a plane.
- 40:11I'm going to say probably
- 40:12because your internet's
- 40:14restricted to kids though.
- 40:19I'll be able to watch Friday
- 40:20night maybe a little bit
- 40:21and then I'm going to be on a plane.
- 40:28It's Friday, Saturday, Sunday, right?
- 40:29Correct.
- 40:33I may try to catch up.
- 40:34We'll be home Saturday night late.
- 40:37And then I'll try to catch
- 40:38up Sunday morning so we can
- 40:40recap it all on Sunday
- 40:41night CrossFit talk.
- 40:44See what goes on there.
- 40:47But, yeah.
- 40:49So we'll talk about it.
- 40:51I am, too.
- 40:52I think it was funny hearing
- 40:53Dallin talk about the lift and how, like,
- 40:56if he has to go up against Guy,
- 40:58does it even matter?
- 41:00He said,
- 41:01I don't know who's going to win that.
- 41:02Yeah.
- 41:06Um, and, and that's,
- 41:07I think it's interesting though, though,
- 41:09that like Olivia is there now and could,
- 41:13she could actually compete with Tia, um,
- 41:16on those lifts.
- 41:16Uh, but you know, in my head, like,
- 41:20I guess everybody has to be spread out.
- 41:22I'd almost rather have
- 41:23Olivia on like Isabel or
- 41:26Grace because she would
- 41:28crush that rather than the max lift.
- 41:32Yeah, move and wait for time.
- 41:35Move in large loads, long distances,
- 41:36that type of deal.
- 41:37Yeah, no, she's really good at that.
- 41:45Hey, bro.
- 41:46I thought he was a good Christian dude,
- 41:48and now I think he's just hateful.
- 41:50Hey,
- 41:51I saw a stat about an hour before we
- 41:53went on.
- 41:54Go ahead and read that.
- 41:57He said that I saw Spencer
- 41:59Rattler and Caleb Williams
- 42:00have close to the same stats this year.
- 42:02thus far in the NFL.
- 42:05Don't even make me go off
- 42:06here because I... Spencer
- 42:08is actually top ten right
- 42:11now with two losses.
- 42:14Top ten quarterbacks in the league.
- 42:16He's like ninth with two losses.
- 42:20Our defense is horrendous.
- 42:23Are Grace and Isabel at the
- 42:26regular weights?
- 42:27I don't... It's not heavy, Isabel.
- 42:29I know it's not like
- 42:32Yeah, I don't.
- 42:37But I don't think it's just
- 42:38a regular weight either.
- 42:39I think it's somewhere in between the two.
- 42:41Yeah,
- 42:41but I haven't seen a whole lot about
- 42:44the workouts themselves.
- 42:46I just I saw like obviously the team,
- 42:48you know, the team drama.
- 42:53Quotation marks, quotation marks,
- 42:54quotation marks.
- 42:55Yeah, I I had I can't do two screens.
- 43:11And they have so many posts up right now.
- 43:20I'm trying to pull it up at
- 43:22least so I can see it.
- 43:27The only show it is.
- 43:30They don't have the weights listed.
- 43:32Of course not.
- 43:37No.
- 43:40No weights listed.
- 43:41Sorry, guys.
- 43:43So just for argument's sake, we'll say no.
- 43:47How about that?
- 43:51It's one thirty six ninety seven.
- 43:57There you go.
- 43:59Now, Mark Phillips is on my list.
- 44:03Everybody's coming after the Bears.
- 44:04That's the only thing I've
- 44:05been able to watch because
- 44:06of my restricted access.
- 44:08I get lots of Bears videos.
- 44:10Lots of Bears videos?
- 44:12I will say this.
- 44:13The Chicago Bears.
- 44:14Caleb, correct.
- 44:16Not like Bears in the wild.
- 44:18Not pull the Bears.
- 44:19This is what I'm going to say about Caleb.
- 44:23He's getting better every week.
- 44:26If the receivers would run
- 44:27the right routes,
- 44:28his stats would be a lot better.
- 44:31That's all I'm going to say.
- 44:32And that's from watching
- 44:34other show tape and
- 44:36analysis from all of that.
- 44:38We could say that same thing about Radler.
- 44:41He had his receivers dropping balls, man.
- 44:45Having said that, again,
- 44:46the Saints have no defense, basically,
- 44:49whatsoever.
- 44:50So there's that.
- 44:57An issue.
- 44:58Frozen casing has been my
- 44:59nightly staple for seven years.
- 45:05Yep.
- 45:06I think the last time I
- 45:07actually had any casein
- 45:09protein was two houses ago.
- 45:15Which has been a minute.
- 45:18That stuff, man,
- 45:18you put too much in and it gets thick.
- 45:22Thick, quick.
- 45:25I'm going to leave with this.
- 45:27Last night,
- 45:28my daughter took us out to play Singo.
- 45:31It's a bingo game with your
- 45:34card is full of songs.
- 45:37And a DJ plays music.
- 45:39And when you hear your song,
- 45:41you dab it off on your bingo card.
- 45:45And last night's theme was,
- 45:47Nineteen Eighty-Five.
- 45:50And my daughter was
- 45:51embarrassed that my wife
- 45:52and I knew every single
- 45:53song that was played.
- 45:59What do you expect, Cory?
- 46:00Good Lord.
- 46:03I was fifteen years old in
- 46:05Nineteen Eighty-Five.
- 46:06a sophomore in high school,
- 46:08of course I knew every
- 46:09single song that was played.
- 46:13And we still didn't win
- 46:15because technology allows
- 46:16these young kids to Shazam every song.
- 46:23Dude, I was eight.
- 46:24Is that right?
- 46:27Yeah.
- 46:29Yeah,
- 46:30I was eight and eighty five and I
- 46:31probably know all those songs.
- 46:34Yeah, but it was a blast, man.
- 46:36Just, like, singing along with the music,
- 46:40and the crowd would sing
- 46:41along to everything,
- 46:42and it was just a good time.
- 46:45And, yeah, people were six and eight,
- 46:49negative six.
- 46:52Mark was negative six and eighty-five.
- 46:58Oh.
- 46:58Mark's a great man.
- 47:02Jay Birch was seventeenth.
- 47:05So he's only two years older than me.
- 47:07And let's say he's going to
- 47:08graduate in eighty five.
- 47:09Yeah.
- 47:12He probably is.
- 47:13His prom song was one of the
- 47:14ones played last night.
- 47:15Oh,
- 47:16he would have been sitting there
- 47:23singing along with my wife
- 47:24and I. My wife would have my wife.
- 47:29Fun fact is loves bingo, loves bingo like.
- 47:35Anytime we get an opportunity to play,
- 47:36she is down.
- 47:37However, if it was a, it was a, it was a,
- 47:41it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a,
- 47:44it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a,
- 47:48it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a,
- 47:50it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a,
- 47:52it was a, it was a, it was a, it was a,
- 47:53it was a, it was a, it was a,
- 48:05I have PTSD from this Murph,
- 48:07so we can move on.
- 48:12Moving right along.
- 48:16I'm tired of hearing.
- 48:17It was a really good time.
- 48:19Dude, that sounds awesome.
- 48:20For real.
- 48:22That sounds awesome.
- 48:23Awesome.
- 48:25So with that, guys,
- 48:29I'll be back tomorrow if I
- 48:31can get some decent cell service again.
- 48:36We'll see.
- 48:40Throwing up prayers for you right now.
- 48:42Because I can't do anything with Wi-Fi.
- 48:43Apparently not.
- 48:46All right, guys.
- 48:49It's been a blast.
- 48:50As always, love you all.
